Favorite Color: Purple. It's always been purple. Idk why.

Currently Reading: "Five books of the lives, heroic deeds and sayings of Gargantua and his son Pantagruel". We are currently studying medieval literature in lectures, and I decided to start with this one from the whole list. But I like it and I didn't regret this decision at all. I think I'm going to be obsessed with medieval literature in the near future anyway, I think I'm going to be too interested in this topic the more I start studying it.

Last Song: Hush -- Deep Purple. It's been about an hour since I listened that song on my playlist, lol.

Last Movie: I watched a lot of movies during the holidays, but I remember that the last ones were "The Mask" and "Shrek the Third".

Last Series: Honestly, I'm not a fan of series just because I'm too lazy to watch them, although sometimes I really want to. But at the same time, I've often felt gusts of nostalgia lately and I've been watching some animated series because of the memories and the fact that they sometimes inspire me. "Adventure Time" was one of them.

Sweet, Savoury, Spicy: Sweet things can't be without savoury things, just as savoury things can't be without sweet things. They are complete opposites, but at the same time they exist in harmony. I can't choose one thing, I need this damn balance every day, sorry.

Craving: I usually don't eat for half a day, so when I get home, I'm ready to eat anything. But sometimes I think about cinnamon bun, garlic bread, or ciabatta. Or schnitzel with pickled cucumbers. Or about cranberries in sugar. I'm not picky about food.

Tea/Coffee: Once upon a time, I couldn't live without tea. Now I can't live without coffee.

Currently working on: That's where the fun begins. A comic that I plan to release either on October 31st or November 24th (I even thought about rescheduling it to December.). It's actually a long story, because I want to do it probably from 2021 or 2022, (I even have some kind of storyboard of some moments from then and one concept art or something like that. Actually, that's not all, there are more such things, it's just what I have access to now) but then I lacked the skills, 2023 was a big shock and disappointment for me, which caused me to be in a kind of stagnation for a long time, and in 2024 I may have recovered from that year, but I was just exhausted. I think this year I will finally create what I wanted and I will have to start in the near future to make it.

I'm currently making concepts for the main characters, and so far 3/8 of the main and minor ones are coming out. There are a lot more secondary characters as well as the main ones, but I can't show some of them in the way I would like. I can't post the finished part now because I want to show them all together.

Sometimes I open FL Studio, but for this I definitely need to catch the moment when some annoying melody starts playing in my head. A couple of days ago, I didn't have time to save that kind of the melody. But maybe I'll recreate it someday if I remember. I used to have a guitar and I could play the first half of "Killer Queen" before the chorus according to some tutorial. Basically, I'm just drawing, rather than doing music thing.

Beware of this, y'all, more than half of my subscribers! But I'm not insisting, I'm just suggesting.

Last Movie: Ah, gosh. HM. I haven't watched anything that's not a TV show in a while. I semi-voluntarily caught the last fifteen minutes of Scrooged over the winter holidays I guess?

Last Series: Last series I watched any part of is, as always, "Emergency!" because I will never not be stuck in 70's paramedic hell. If we're talking new-to-me shows, a friend's making me watch Grey's Anatomy (early seasons) once a week, probably because observing my growing despair about the characters' poor life choices is fun. I don't even normally watch medical shows, and yet here we are lol

Sweet, Savoury, Spicy: Savory if I had to pick

Craving: Some good spaghetti with olive oil and obscene amounts of lightly toasted garlic.

Tea/Coffee: Yes please, lol

Currently working on: OH BOY WHAT A QUESTION.

Spinning: Gotland on my spindles (4-ply, one single per spindle, for funsies - except I accidentally mixed up which bits of fiber go with which single on which spindle, so that'll be fun to sort out...), 7oz/200g of red Merino on the wheel (for a crochet hat, followed by 9.5 oz of red and black Merino for a woven scarf). But also 24.5oz/700g of grey Merino. And cotton on the supported spindle. And I've got some laceweight viscose on the mini turkish spindle that I should really work on...

Crocheting: Half a dozen things, including a lacy collar that needs buttons and blocking, a gigantic star-shaped wrap-around shawl, an incredibly boring granny square top for my little sister, and too many others to count.

Art: The Emergency! tarot as the eternal never-ending WIP; I also have some Dragon Age Veilguard related plans revolving around the Grand Necropolis and irl Catacomb Saints and I'd love to get some DA-style tarot cards done for all my player characters.

Writing: I still have a couple unfinished fanfics that need another chapter, as well as two deeply self-indulgent OC/Emergency! crossovers that friends are making me write, and I also have some Dragon Age stuff in the works - though if anyone will ever see that is another question entirely.

Music: Practicing various stuff for LARP; also slowly chipping away at Hozier's Work Song because my partner asked nicely.

I am literally a graphic designer for my career but I couldn't be fucked editing a template, so here's how my art has evolved in the last 12 months!

January - @meanbossart 's Dark Urge

This was the first digital thing I'd done in over a year at this point. I took an extended break from art because my (old) job was ruining my mental health. (Which is why I quit it :D !) And his Drow character is really well thought out and very unique so I had to draw him. (His art is also very inspiring to me so check out his page!)

February - was still in my Baldur's Gate kick and loved that lizard (still do) and it was also my first time doing environmental art. I couldn't figure out how to do the "mood" I was imagining so I had to look up famous movie shots that were noir, dark and moody to figure out what the heck to do.

March - My D&D character Istdrin, a Drow sorcerer who was sexually attracted to spiders... And got eaten by spiders. (I had to make a new character after this 🤣) Rest in peace you sick fuck

April - Astarion, my fave BG3 companion (besides Wyll & Shadow heart!) I wanted to design a fancy suit for him and a modern haircut.

May - my first drawing of my V (Vicentije.) I had just bought Phantom Liberty at this point and was also trying to figure out how to draw him and how I imagine he would look. Alas I am a console player so I can't mod his tattoos in or his face sculpt etc. (but in a few months I'll finally have saved enough money for a PC haha!) he's gone through a few changes design-wise and I'm still tweaking him tbh

June - first art for my fanfic End Transmission

I just finished Phantom Liberty and had this idea brewing in my head. I'd also started writing my fic too! I'm not really happy with V:s face here and I've also since made more changes to his design, so he doesn't even have these tattoos anymore lol! (Except for the 13 on his forehead because he is unlucky)

August - Johnny Silverhand

I actually did this right before I went to America this year. I was drawing this at the Sydney airport and painting it on the flight to Los Angeles. I am still really happy with how this turned out.

September - I did this in my downtime while in the states. I started drawing the frames in my first week in America (while I was at my aunties house in Los Angeles) and finished it during hurricane Francine in New Orleans!

October - Johnny Silverhand again! I tried drawing a few comic panels of my fanfic End Transmission when I got back to Australia.

November - original character I'm working on. He's an ugly vampire who was an artist in his human life and made very beautiful things.

December (??)

Nothing really for December yet lol! Just lots of wips and ideas I'm still working on

Overall my art has made a HUGE improvement this year. I've been focusing on better quality lines the last two months but all year I've been working on more dynamic poses and colouring!!

strange bedfellows

(i have a lot to say about these dumb sketches lol all that is under the cut. mostly it's me writing down thoughts so i don't forget)

a lot of things in my life happened in rapid succession. i left rehab mostly. fully processed that i am physically disabled bc my body began to fail me & i had the wherewithal to acknowledge it. my art has gotten much better bc of it

this is all to say that i am proud of these even though it is low-effort fanart. low-effort art looks different for everyone but these sketches are all low-effort for me & they look better than some of my fully finished shit from like october of last year.

my favorite one out of all of these is this one. w/ the saw

i think the saw thing was a calvin & hobbes jokes first. ig it's a visual onomatopoeia it's supposed to imply the sound of snoring. i don't actually remember if it was a saw

i read a lot of calvin & hobbes growing up. i went back to read it again recently just to like fact-check this dumb joke. while i was skimming parts i realized that calvin & hobbes is very similar to wha - they're both comics about children & imagination etc they're technically impressive in very similar ways shirahama & watterson are so goddamn good at this shit.

shirahama influenced a lot of my life decisions. i am literally an art teacher now i work w/ kids coco's age. watterson did the same - he was the reason i started drawing in the first place. i want to be better at art than both of them

November status update!

So! Spooky month is over and now we are at November! so here's my monthly update!

🌼Social Media management

So first I wanted to give a bit of a announcement given the difficult situation with artists and social media in recent times, specially on Twitter and the recent choices they've made, I've been thinking on what to do 🤔

I've come to the conclusion to only post full art on certain sites that are more for art and artists and the rest will be cropped art or very tiny version of them (not full resolution or quality)

nah, I tried but I gave up on it pretty quick lol, I've been pretty stressed up with work and side personal projects that I just didn't make the time to draw too much of that lol

it was kinda funny how quickly I lost steam with that 😅 but well it's not an obligation, maybe next year I'll be able to be a little bit more consistent and have more energy for that.

So I finished the batch I got on August, though there's still a comic pages commission from that but I'm putting that and one I got last month together.

as for the batch I got on October, I got a bit behind it, mostly because I was trying to finish with the previous batch first, so this next week I'll work more on the current batch for sure! 👍

End of September Update

I made a really brief post on twitter about what I'm up to but since tumblr supports more text I'll just go into more depth on what projects I'm working on at the moment and general life updates!

I used to write blog posts on wordpress for school and it's just hilarious that I stopped doing that considering it feels like I was born to blog!

In general, I've been trying to crawl out of this very odd mood swing-y state I've been in for the past year. I've been semi-public about it but I graduated with a degree in animation same time last year and have sort of been recovering from the absolute burn out of that as well as watching the animation industry essentially collapse just as I left college.

I'm hoping to get into UI/UX design this coming October and try to piece what little control I have of my life back together. I don't really know what I'm doing to be honest and it feels like I'm just pawing in the dark with a lot of this stuff.

In lighter news I've been trying to get into something I've always wanted to for years which is comics! I'm not sure how much I can speak about it at the moment but I just got into an anthology which is very exciting.

I applied to shortbox last year but didn't get in :( but fingers crossed I'll get in next year! On a related note I've made a Cara profile which I'm using as a comics portfolio and archive.

Those of you who've been following me for years know that I've had a webcomic project called, Happenstance (which I've restarted endlessly for about 10 years at this point). While I don't really have a concrete update of that for you guys I will say that the story is more or less fixed and whatever version of it I have now is most likely the version I'll proceed with in the future.

I did try to get the ball rolling with this at the start of the year with a pilot comic but it made me so miserable to work on it I abandoned it and started making an unrelated zine instead haha

I do have plans on finishing this eventually and it'll be up on my itch.io and gumroad like everything else!

Speaking of the zine, I'd just like to thank everyone who purchased Cute Thing! I think for my first independent book project it did pretty well! It was incredibly embarrassing and nerve wrecking to promote it but I'm glad I did it.

I don't know why there's an 18+ warning on this considering this zine is pretty tame.

I guess it also helped that that stupid ass diary comic i made blew up at the same time so I got to shill my wares in relation to it. Even though I think it gave me some kind of psychological damage but every time i gain minor internet fame i shrink back into my shell anyway, this is just the first time i really felt so much.. vitriol from randos lol.

It's just hilarious it overlapped with whatever guilty gear obsession I had at the time as well. Thank you to everyone who stuck around and uh.. sorry! I walk wherever the wind takes me and it's frequently towards my own characters.

But! Speaking of Guilty Gear, I am working on an Abacelsus zine I briefly talked about on twitter a couple months back. The title is sort of pending at the moment and while I did say it might be free as a digital download, I'm probably going to charge a couple of dollars because of how much effort I'm putting into this.

On the plus side that means I'll probably be putting more effort into it! I'm aiming for 24 interior pages of stuff and hoping to release a digital version of it by Halloween 2024!

I'm trying to work on more prints and stickers for conventions as well and I never posted about my convention escapades here all too much but you can check out this instagram post for what I had up the last time I boothed!

That's kind of all for the stuff I'd like to get done within this year but other projects that I'd like to aim to get done by 2025 is a continuation of my Cute Thing zine that I'm aiming to collate by Valentines Day, hehe how romantic.

There's nothing terribly concrete for that at the moment but I do know I want it to have more pages than Cute Thing. It's called My Boy and yes it's named after another Car Seat Headrest song.

I've got a lot of irons in the fire and another iron is that I'm also planning a 4-panel comic series for my band characters that I've posted some pilots about before!

Pretty messy planning but most of my long form stuff looks like this.

A 4-panel comic series is just less intimidating than a fully coloured webcomic series (Happenstance) that I know will be finished decades later. I've also seen a lot of webcomic artists I've beloved just.. abandon their years long project and it's kind of scary to me that will definitely happen to me!!!

The long and short of it is that I've got a lot of projects and a majority of it is not making me any money. I'm extremely lucky to be surrounded by people that support my work but it gets hard to just do all of this by yourself with no guarantee that it'll go anywhere.

Patreon's a beast I've tried to tackle but it's kind of an ass of a website to use so I'll probably try to use ko-fi a bit more. I've kind of never really liked the subscription model and really do prefer to launch curated PDFs of my work every few months, but again I'm really just clawing at the dark and grasping at anything I can.

Let's wrap up this long post by mentioning that I might want to give streaming a shot! I used to stream a little when I was a teenager but I'd like to give it another go!

I don't think I'm going to have a dedicated persona or vtuber avatar but a small little png-tuber would be frankly hilarious. Maybe something casual to start of with, it gets pretty lonely spending everyday working on images alone.

October Poll Results!

It's November 1st, and I was very relieved to see that we got another update! It's a small one, which is to be expected, given the announcement in the last Progress Report, but knowing that updates in general will remain monthly is still good to know!

I'll skip the teaser images to get to the Poll Results first, since they shouldn't be too surprising, if you checked them at any point. In a nearly 5:2 ratio, the option to ship Episodes 3A (Decay) and Episode 4 together has won. (An option with Nemlei interestingly calls "Poetry" several times.) Again, I expected this, even though I voted to ship Decay by itself. The most interesting part of this section to me, are the last couple sentences. In it, Nemlei seems to basically confirm that Decay is finished, or at least very close to being finished, and the majority of work will now shift onto Episode 4. I don't expect Episode 4 to take a year to make, unlike what Nemlei seems to cheekily be implying. The impression I've got to far is that it's the resolution to the story. The Climax ( ;) ) and Falling Action. It's not going to be very long, is what I mean. Nowhere near as long as Episode 3A, anyway. So, with that settled, let's check out those teaser images!

First, we see Andrew and Ashley hanging out in some strange looking lighthouse. The large eye in the middle might remind you of Six Eyes, which is very well might be, but... that eye doesn't look very demonic to me. It's got a big pupil and lashes, with a star in the middle, and the windows surrounding it are also plastered with stars, and are different shades of bright colors. Looks more... wizard-like, to me. It very well could be the same lighthouse... or a version of the same lighthouse, that we saw Ashley trying to climb as the unreachable stair taunted her, but we'll have to wait and see. More importantly... why are they here in the first place? Is it JUST a hideout?

Next image is a bit more interesting. Judging by Ashley's pose, it's possible that this is the middle, or the end, of a small argument between the two. It's the camping section again, which we've seen quite a bit of, now. Andrew saying "You bring my demons out." with that smug look has some BIG implications. Obviously, it's related to the demon world, but what specifically? Did we get a glimpse at Andrew's SOUL? Did Andrew summon a demon of his own, or is this the aftermath of Ashley bringing Andrew with her into the demon world, like she was asked? I'd say it's probably some combination of the first and third, given we don't see any evidence of a ritual here. Though they easily could've just cleaned it up. But, what could they be arguing about? Maybe the Demon's reasoning for wanting Andrew to tag along wasn't something Ashley was happy with. Or maybe she just saw something about Andrew she didn't like. Whatever it was, I reckon it'll probably have a choice for us to pick.

Lastly, we have this silly little comic. I quite like it when Andrew and Ashley are drawn like this lol. But hey, it seems that Decay will have more options than I thought! We also got a glimpse at the main conflict of this route, it seems. Andrew's morals decaying. We already got glimpses of that, given the whole murder-suicide thing going on. (Though I'd argue that would be the most noble thing Andrew would've done, even if for the wrong reasons.) But it seems we also have the ability to go deeper into the relationship between Andrew and Ashley... in more ways than one!

Ashley herself looks a little indifferent to it all. Could just be a joke for the comic, but Ashley has always shown relative indifference towards this idea... when she isn't trying to get Julia to kill herself, anyway. Knowing that we'll be having all these options puts some of the previous teaser images in a bit of a different light, and it also make me wonder what the main theme of Burial will be. I guess instead of having these options with their relationship, they'll just... bury their feelings? And depending on how successfully that goes, you get different paths.

I have not been up late in what feels like forever, lol. This year was a wild ride. I, in all to honest goodness, can't even believe it's over. Last year I told my therapist my resolution was "Fuck it" and I still stand by it this year.

From finishing my first ever Shameless Big Bang, to writing another wonderful piece that led to making wonderful friends, I can't wait to continue it again this year.

In July I got to see Green Day for a sixth time, this time, the VIP actually pulling through. The last tour I saw them on was from Father of All... and it was such a mess, since the tour was the remains of what they could scrape by with due to COVID. Fall Out Boy had to cancel, which wasn't terrible but, still, a band I had wanted to see. SAVIORS was easily one of the best shows I've ever seen. Both DOOKIE and AMERICAN IDIOT back to back, all songs? COMING CLEAN is my favorite Green Day song of all time, and it's always played at every show I am not in attendance for. Finally hearing it live just...chefs kiss. Seeing Tre Sing All By Myself was also a dream thing to see, along with HOMECOMING which is a song that both Mike and Tre sing on. Not to mention, it was the opening of the US tour, which was great. Aside from a brief tornado evacuation during the concert, it was fantastic. I got even more excited when I found out my bestie went to his show, too, since American Idiot was the album that sort of bonded us together back when we were wee 8th graders.

October was the real kicker. My first vacation since pre-covid. The Outsiders Musical was fantastic. I had kind of lost fandom interest in it for a long while, and it just pushed my right back into interest with these characters I loved. Plus, I was the one that received the special book that is passed out during the finale. Being front row center for a musical was a bucket list item, and I was so glad it was that musical.

But of course, the real highlight of October was going to NYCC, a place I didn't think I'd ever go to. It's the comic con for the big boys, and I even surprised myself and hardly bought any merch, except for Eric Stuart (Brock from Pokemon) and of course spending most of my money meeting Cam and Noel.

THAT was the highlight my friends. Well, one. They were so so incredibly nice and sweet, not at all "fake" phony celebrities. Noel conversed with everyone who entered his line and wanted to talk to everyone, and Cam was just so so sweet. Both even signed the art that @deathclassic made and adored it, with Noel loving emo Mickey and knowing more about fanfiction, and Cam just a very confused guy about the fact its an AU. Kinda hope they dont find the fic. Both were such the sweetest boys, and were they worth the whole headache of NYCC??? easily yes. They knew my name by the end.

Two of my personal heros on the trip were @mybrainismelted and @runawaybrainsc, spending as much time with me as possible during the trip, and to all others who popped in throughout my thursday of hell where I got scammed by a bunch of dudes. Which, somehow, is kinda odd since I've known how to avoid NYC scams before. And then of course running into other gallavich friends along the way. Everyone was so sweet and kind, especially almost everyone that was in line for Noel. Everyone is so sweet. And ending the day eating pizza and gallavich chatting was perfect, and I cant wait to do it again. I love my con moms.

But of course, the best was the last day. Spending the day with @deathclassic. Seeing one of my very good friends IRL was such a wonderful experience and having fun at the biggest mall on the east coast was such a great experience. You haven't lived until you IRL snail race.

But of course, NYC brought the worst issues, which means early 2025 is gonna be full of surgery. Fantastic. Now lets just hope this flu goes away...

Really hope I get to do some gallavich adventures again this year..

Torn Ledger Update

Hello thank you for all the support and love on the comic so far it truly means a lot. As I said we are hard at work finishing up part 2 of issue 2. Currently double leaf is finishing up the last 2 pages of line art and then will focus on coloring which is usually quicker. I’m planning on October/November being the release of the second half. Please be patient with us we are a 2 person team and this comic is pretty much self funded. I wanna leave you with a little teaser at the end of this section so here’s the widows being all happy cause this story will be angst free*

Torn ledger future

So as for what is going to happen in the future here is the rough plan I have.

- 6 issue planned (3.5 fully written and the last 2.5 drafted out)

- a few one shots here and there (Yelena coming out to Nat, spicy Nat x [Redacted] (You find out in issue 3), a holiday special

- Release schedule: Like I said this is a VERY small operation so it takes about a year to make one of these issues with how much writing and art goes in (also I don’t rush the artist and make sure they get about 1-2 months between issues). So it will usually be about 2 parts per year so don’t be surprised at the very infrequent updates. Depending on if you want the one shots or not (will poll on my patreon for you to vote). I will try my best to complete this for you so not to leave you with an incomplete comic so these plans might shift a bit.

2024 Art Summary

Another year down, let's go baybeee!! I feel overall very pleased with my art this year! Nothing extraordinary happened this year art-wise, but I had decent consistency again, which I'm always pleased with. Everything I made this year, big or small, I was pretty happy with! But man, those early year pieces feel like I made them so long ago!! This year was so slow for me up until around October then it felt like you blinked and missed it! The biggest disappointment this year was lack of comic updates. I've already vented about this, but in the end, it is what it is! I am still very happy with what I DID do, and I'm glad I updated at all, so that's a plus! The biggest success this year is my streaming schedule! For the whole year I was able to keep up my weekly streams aside from when I was away from home or ill! This was a HUGE deal for me, since I have been trying to stream consistently for years now. My stress on commissions has VASTLY decreased since doing it! Upcoming goals: • Dedicating 2 days a week to comic work. Sundays and Tuesdays I think is what I'll do? I'll be starting that within the next couple weeks once I finish my last bit of owed 2024 stuff! • Continue Thursday streams, but adding a personal piece at the end of every stream. Either a stage of a big piece, or something goofy! • Tentative goal: Gaming streams. Not 100% sure how I'll fit this in, but I would like to! • Tentative goal 2: Finally finish my unfinished projects. I keep this up as a "hopefully" every year lol Now for the rundown: January - Funny com is funny :3c February - Got really into Neopets hardcore around this time! March - Also pokemans :3c April - Love doing pretty scenes like this one! May - Possibly one of my fav commissions of the year! June - Experimental coms that were so much fun! July - Art Fight success once again!! August - Wanted to slip in at least one comic page, as I was proud of the pages I did! September - Did this piece on stream and it was a hoot, and very fun! October - Did so many great Halloweeny Monster coms this month, so it was super hard to pick one! November - I did a few traditional pieces for MFF's Art Show, and this one was my fav! December - And would you look at that?? An Arpeggio art?? In 2024?? Hell yeah. B)

Janurary: i didn't draw anything!!!!!!

Feburary: i didn't draw anything!!!!! actually, i got into Flight Rising around this time... so no wonder.

March: i finally finish my part for a Papa Louie customer collab i was part of.... this was around the time my Papa Louie fixation began to fade too so this is the last proper art of a customer i've made. rest in piss @jogotcha, yell at me if you ever want the @ for yourself. April: there was an alterative timeline art challenge going around on twitter at this time so i took part in it myself, ft HG. i drew little portraits of her alternative forms as well [link]

May: I drew my friend's dnd oc..... that's not going in the publicsphere but it was quite a challenge, since i'm not used to drawing furry characters...

June: i made a portrait of these three for a bigger comic but it just wound up never happening. they look really nice though..... i'm sorry guys.

July: i lied about Kasey O being the last Papa Louie art i did. [link]

August: i played PMD: EoS around this time. Team Butch you are iconic in my eyes. the Munchlax is Ginny and the Torchic is Tanya

September: the demons got to me. this is actually my first time making a humanoid plushie and i'm really happy that it turned out well... i did follow a template. but still! [link]

October: the first and only time i've ever drawn a Puyo character. uhm. maybe i should draw more of them, considering they consist of one half of my brain right now...

November: i start to draw stuff again but it's only stupid stuff... and also old object ocs. i always relapse and draw my fuckass objects lol [link]

this year was rough. maybe because i'm a senior and shit but i wasn't able to do much artistically... maybe next year will be different? but i won't count on it. i'm so damn tired.

i wanted to do a lot, but i think i only did 25% of what i was thinking of... doesn't help i have chronic procrastination... and i was sad for a lot of this year.... and i kept getting distracted by Youtube shorts.... oh boy, i gotta change myself a lot for this year.

September is here! I always think of this month as my sister’s month because she was born in September lol. Anyway, I was lowkey happy Beau won the character poll because it means I get to dedicate September’s cover art to my sister’s fave color: yellow. Happy Birth Month, lil bro~ Big Love!

What’s Happening in September?

Well, the poll this month will be a little different. Usually, we vote on who next month’s cover model will be. This month, however, I was thinking — since the whole month of October is basically Halloween and peeps dress up — we could vote for Kaimana’s Halloween costume this year? Last year I put ‘em in an ATSV Spider-Man 2099 costume, hehehe. This year, IT’S UP TO YOU! It’ll be fun. It’ll be GREAT. To the left are the options, all tsunderes because I’m so weak for tsunderes and I consider Kai to be one as well lol. Poll drops this Friday, September 6.

Other than that, I’ll be continuing to stitch Froot Basket White together and draw Ippon! pages. I’m hoping to finish adding all the voiced lines so I can work on drawing/cleaning stuff up in the coming months! You can read about my progress below!

I now have all the voiced lines for Sutoro and Azrael! I’ve been inputting them into the current build. Check out a preview of Sutoro’s voiced lines!

I also received some track samples from our composer! I can’t show you right now, but, trust me. It’s a banger and a chill cafe bop for sure! The composer I’m working with went to town on it! I’m so happy with how it’s turning out! It’s got lyrics and vocals too!

I adjusted one of Sutoro’s poses because the anatomy seemed off. BUT! I also wanted to add more poses to make Sutoro a little more lively to match Jesse’s performance. Here’s some of those new sprites I’m working on!

Comic Creation | Ippon!

I haven’t talked about Ippon! in a while, mostly because I haven’t been spending a lot of time on it. I… went back and adjusted some previous panels, and I keep going back and forth between adding more pages to adjust the pace or not…

One of the things I changed, for example, are the shape of the panels on page 4 (above). I noticed as I was drawing that I tend to have a lot of dynamic panels. There were so many, that I thought it became hard to read or even look at the pages… It bummed me out a bit, so I had to stop drawing for a bit lol.

Another thing I learned: having to really think about how two pages sit next to each other. I saw online somewhere that comic artists plan out their page turns. That’s something I’d like to keep in mind too.

Other than that, I’m trying to learn to pace myself better. Some pages take longer to complete than others. For me right now, this action page (above) is taking a lot out of me. I expected it would because I’m trying to figure out where everything is situated — the anatomy, whether or not the action makes sense, etc.

I was thinking about adding the name of the move somewhere, kinda like how in shounen action series characters name their moves and whatnot or have it written out on the page or something. But I’m not too sure exactly how I’m going to go about doing that…

Cover Story | Meet Beau!

Sweet, energetic, loving Beau. In the Froot Basket series, he’s the player character Jordan’s childhood friend and neighbor! They played basketball together in baby days and continued hanging out and growing together in high school! Beau loves eating, gaming, reading comics, and playing basketball with his pals! He also has a big crush on Jordan and a big dislike of bananas — they’re mushy!

Along with Sutoro, Beau was one of the first characters I doodled when I came up with this lil series. He and Sutoro were best friends. He was meant to be a sorta delinquent character, hence the piercings and dyed undercut hairstyle. But as I developed him more and more, he just seemed like a sweetheart through and through.

I tried to include a bunch of yellow things in the background and in the illustration’s design. I’m hoping it displays Beau’s fun-loving personality! A few Easter Eggs: Beau’s playing Froot Basket Valentine on his handheld console and Froot Basket: Dark Chocolate on his desktop.

Momotarou Post-Mortem

Momotarou was the micro-visual novel I impulsively made in July for O2A2 Jam. I managed to write the post-mortem for it late last month! If you’re interested in my thought process for the project’s creation, read it here!

I can’t believe it’s already been 50 days since I released the micro-visual novel! Time flies… A few peeps have play-throughs that I’ve very much enjoyed! Thank you so much for playing! I also received some really great feedback and observed some peeps getting confused. I’ll be updating the game with a few sentences referring to Froot Basket Valentine, the game whose events immediately precede the events of Momotarou.

Kinktober 2023??

Has everyone given up on me writing more kinktobers?? Because honestly after 25 Reasons I was pretty sure that was it.

On Wattpad I usually put writing/drawing resolutions every new year, so I'm going to start doing so here.

These were my resolutions last year

-Being more consistent

I'd like to believe I accomplished this, as I very much like my new drawing style

Urusami September 2024 Log

I'm just sharing this for fun and to mull about. I'll be around and work (collab) on the self creative projects that I'm doing currently, but as October nears, I will inevitably be getting more and more busier with my studies. Still, I'll continue on with the projects that I want to do whenever I can. (I can't be online much as the end of the semester nears though, as the amount of reports/work are staggering around that time.)

Yesterday, I went out with my siblings to the city just to hang out. And during that hang out session, we visited a Apple Store. These types of shops usually leave their electronic products outside for consumer testing, so I tried messing around with the (newest?) ipadmini (particularly their drawing app, Procreate). And WOW, holy fucking shit, it's so smooth, it felt like drawing on the heavenly clouds itself lmao.

Imagine if I had a better device to create the stuff I want to do..., I would improve in lightning speed lol. All of these ideas will be easily formulated.... Asks from others? Create a quick mini comic sketch to explain your concepts, then boom, finished! Drawing in a smartphone is already a miracle for most, but... I have a desire to have a better way of creating art and improving my skills...

Besides that, my smartphone is quite old, like circa 2019. It still functions well as a phone, but it is not really a device you can dump heavy art projects in. Like, this phone's memory is dwindling fast as I create more and more stuff lmao. Plus, my wrists and hands do hurt from doing creative projects on a small ass screen. Those are one of the many reasons on why the length of time between my art posts is so long.

As I still can't really buy the art devices that I need for my own self-fulfilment in this current-time, I'll just create the stuff I wanna do with the way I can. Adapt and improvise... and just be grateful with the way it is for now...

Agh, when will I get to the point where I can do whatever I want in life without my parents restrictions and scrutinisations. Being a young adult in this current times and economy sucks major fucking ass and I hate to breathe another day sometimes. I'll survive, until I can't. For now though? I just want to have fun and enjoy what I can do while it lasts. In the meantime, I'll also adore and admire what art others have created (while I suffer daily life and have fun in my own art progress).

I'm just expressing my dissatisfaction on here with how my life has been going by that short glorious experience with that ipadmini lmao. So yeah, this is just me being a whiny baby lol.

If you read this far, I hope your life is better than mine. And if you're still young, study smart and well to create a better future for yourself than the unfortunate few of us who are stuck in any type of unfavorable situation by our own weaknesses and the previous generation faults. Like, we, as in the current young adult generation want to create a better and brighter future, but I really don't know if it'll get better from here. All I know is that, as you age, it doesn't get any easier and personally, I can't see my future from my experiences and failures.

August Status Update

Hiya! so it's past midnight and I'll be going to sleep now but I managed to finish organizing most of the commission orders I got today (I need to include one comic page commission that I made an exception for also 😅 but of that tomorrow, sorry!)

I gave everyone who commissioned me an icon and a number that corresponds to their order, if anyone forgets which one was it just let me know!

it's a board on Milanote that I made for this, I initially had used one like this but for myself, and has been pretty useful so I figured I could do one like this for my clients!

I didn't put anyone's names because to respect privacy, but I hope the icons are good enough!

the top places are the requests with less characters and in order of when I got these requests in the day, in the illustrations ones the last 2 have backgrounds also.

Other than that, I'm hoping to start sketching various of these starting Monday! (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧
