I am going to continue being a fervent Daniil apologist because I’ve always been bothered by the Bachelor Ending, because Daniil isn’t even present for it. The Utopian Ending reads as the triumph of the Kains, and Maria in particular, which I’m sure the Kains intended. I particularly want to focus on the Kains treating Daniil as their heir; the Kains seemingly knew there was calamity on the horizon, one that would threaten the Polyhedron, and so needed someone to preserve their life’s work and legacy.
This is first suggested in the Bachelor Route, when Victor tells Daniil “The cause of Simon’s death is much too significant. It seems we are on the brink of a realization that will be a death warrant to all of us—and, more importantly, to our life’s work. Georgiy wants to exhaust all possibilities of finding proof that he is mistaken.” This line is mirrored by Georgiy in the Changeling Route, when she can ask him about Simon’s murder. Abridged dialogue:
> Why are you afraid they'd escape? *
Georgiy Kain: ... No human being could have killed Simon. He was killed by a creature of supernatural powers.
> And you want to know what the creature looks like? *
Georgiy Kain: ... No. I want to know what power it wields [...] I will try to keep believing that his death was an accident. For as long as I can keep this belief alive, I'll be able to strive for our creation to flourish as it always did.
Victor and Georgiy imply that Simon’s death/the plague pose a threat to the Polyhedron, while Maria confirms that the Kains anticipated disaster: “Plague... and to think that all those years we were expecting an earthquake...”
Daniil was a perfect choice for the Kains; his idealism and desire to push the bounds of possibility would draw him to the Polyhedron, and he was in a vulnerable position when he arrived—he essentially depended on them, as he needed Simon to protect his life’s work and presumably save his colleagues from persecution. The Kains are well-aware of this, as Georgiy says that the Kains are “well acquainted with your scholarly work. We are also quite aware of the difficulties you are experiencing and well-prepared to do our utmost to support you.” The Kains know what’s at stake for Daniil, so it seems purposeful that Georgiy rubs salt in the wound about how Simon’s murder was connected to Daniil’s arrival; that it was a message intended just for him, and only Daniil can bring Simon’s murderer to justice. But that ‘only you can help us’ sentiment doesn’t seem spurred-on by Simon’s “murder,” as Victor tells Daniil, “We put too many hopes in your arrival. The echo of these hopes has lead [Georgiy] to offer you a rather intricate conundrum to solve.” To me, this implies that the Kains wanted Daniil to solve Simon’s murder because of their previous expectations for him. I think those aforementioned hopes were that Daniil would preserve their legacy, which is first suggested on Day 3:
Stanislav Rubin: What kind of relationship you have with the Kains, colleague?
> Friendly, I would say.
> I'd say our relationship is rather tense. *
Stanislav Rubin: Is that so? They don't seem to know anything about it. Both Georgiy and Victor speak of you with sympathy and respect. I was told they treat you like a friend; a brother; a son... Some people go as far as to say they will make you heir to their family!
And lo and behold, on Day 9 Victor asks, “Would you be willing to watch over... no, not over us, but over the garden which we have spent all our lives growing?” Even more damning, when on Day 10, Simonified Georgiy says, “Yes, you are exactly as I imagined. My boy, when Isidor described you to me... I knew that this is the way I would like my heir to be.” It might just be the translation (my Russian is not nuanced enough to check the original) but that switch between past and present feels intentional. If Simon had said “...that this was,” his statement would be more I would want an heir like you, whereas the present tense implies that Simon chose him as an heir. Grammar aside, the line still seems like an admission from Simon that he intended Daniil is be his heir and protect the Kains’ legacy; likely because they knew the Polyhedron was at risk and that their number was up (Maria says that only Kaspar will survive the next decade). So perhaps when Isidor came to Simon asking him to help this doctor hellbent on beating death, Simon decided Daniil was The One.
The point of this tirade was once again because I’m distraught over Daniil D Dankovsky and his gauntlet of misery. While I don’t think Clara or Artemy necessarily have “better” endings, their ends at least feel like theirs. And what if I cried and screamed and threw up because Daniil, the healer most deprived of agency, is the most upset about being a doll. I know his and Artemy’s dialogues about this are identical to a point but where they diverge, Artemy says it doesn’t matter, but Daniil insists “Well, it matters to me!” (and oh. do I have thoughts about that.) This is why I love Daniil choosing the Termite ending, as it’s a definitive choice he can make that doesn’t play into the Kains’ hands. If Daniil destroys the Polyhedron, he gets to strike back against inevitability, what he spent all his life striving to do, and that fells like a well-deserved if meagre victory for him
#do I think the Kains are responsible for the plague well yes but actually no but yeah#I trust Katerina.#but I'm still a Victor Kain enjoyer#I contain multitudes#pathologic#patho classic#daniil dankovsky#patho.txt

//explanation(?) in the tags if your curious vv
#ok the tags are going to be a mountain of explanation im sorry#how it works is only mistress' can see them unless its a character that is able to break the fourth wall or understand the situation#maria and capella have the same ones as their mothers#maria's moon is upside to resemble horn yknow nina the wicked etc etc#capella's is meant to resemble a crown#capella's is also small and incomplete due to her still being young#she will eventually grow into a full large blinding sun halo trust#katerina is an eclipse because unlike the sun or the moon it doesnt give off light in the same way and blah blah blah blind you get it#however its the closest to a real halo if that means much to you#clara's is scattered not whole and the most inconsistent of the 4#her's changes size depending on emtion and actually cant be seen by the other mistress' it can only be seen by 4th wall breaking characters#if you have made it here and are wondering why katerina and capella look like that i like to fuse the p1 and p2 designs... sorry#also if this is extremly ooc im sorry i havent finished clara route i just thought this concept was cool..#clara saburova#clara the changeling#clara pathologic#katerina saburova#maria kaina#capella olgimskaya#capella pathologic#pathologic art#pathologic#pathologic 2#pathologic fanart#my art

Klaus Mikaelson x Reader!Soulmate x Elijah Mikaelson PART 9
Word Count- 5.5k
Warnings- Swearing, reader going through A LOT, slight self harm, violence
In and out. In and out. In and out. Oh god, why isn’t this working?!
“Y/n, just take a deep breath,” Elena says from her seated position on the dirt-covered ground of the Salvatore’s creepy ass dungeon.
“Oh, thank you, Oh Wise One for that great advice,” I sarcastically shoot back to her as I continue my pacing. Back and forth, back and forth.
“Why are you so nervous? I thought you liked Elijah?”
Her question has me rubbing my hands over my face in exhaustion as I try not to roll my eyes at my best friend. When she called me asking to hang out this morning I thought “Oh cool girl time!” What I didn’t expect was us resurrecting a one-thousand-year-old vampire. But now that I’m thinking about it, that’s on me. When it comes to Elena it’s highly unlikely that her days don’t include something that is going to get either one of us maimed or murdered.
“It’s not Elijah I’m worried about,” That’s a slight lie. Ever since Elena told me she’s going to wake him up I’ve felt nauseous, “I’m worried about the two vampire brothers that are obsessed with you and are totally going to murder me when they find out I went along for this stupid ride!”
Elena shoots me an Are you serious look, “They’re not going to murder you.”
I shoot her back the same look, “Oh so you’re telling me that Damon Salvatore is going to be oh so okay with this little plan of yours? Is that why you haven’t told him?”
At that question, Elena sighs. She opens her mouth to reply but a sharp inhale from behind me has me jumping in surprise, and Elena quickly rises from her seated position.
I turn around to see Elijah gasping for breath, his skin still grey and veiny and the suit he’s wearing has definitely seen better days. Elena kneels down next to him and I walk behind her as Elijah looks at Elena like he doesn’t know who she is.
“Katerina,” Elijah leans on his elbows and then he must’ve noticed my presence as he glances up at me. His already wide eyes somehow open more, “You!”
I flinch back at the familiarity in his eyes as he searches my entire frame frantically.
“No Elijah, it’s Elena,” Elena gestures to herself and then to me, “and Y/n.”
This knocks Elijah out of whatever stupor he was in as he leans his head back onto the dirty ground and seems to fall unconscious. Elena glances at me over her shoulder and I just shrug my shoulders, not really knowing what to do in this situation. I watch wearily as she leans down closer and flinches backward as Elijah abruptly rolls to his side yelling. I fight the urge to gag as I hear his bone cracking as he roughly stands himself up.
“I can’t, I can’t breathe,” Elijah says distressed and then he falls back towards the ground huffing, “What’s happening to me?”
Elena and I just watch speechless and in the blink of an eye Elijah flashes forward but ends up knocking into the wall. If this was any other situation I’d probably be laughing my ass off. I watch as Elena jumps up and helps him stand I come up behind them and hold onto Elijah’s other elbow to stabilize him.
“I can’t…I can’t be in this house.”
I frown as Elena realizes what’s happening, “You’re not invited in.”
“Then get me out of here.”
Elijah thrusts himself out of our grips and flashes upstairs hastily. I run behind Elena and stop as we come to the front door where Elijah is hunched over. We walk over to him but Elena puts out a hand to stop me from going any further. This seems to worsen Elijah’s already angry mood as his eyes darken at my friend. He flashes forward but the invisible supernatural barrier stops him.
“What happened,” Elijah speaks but Elena shushes him. Elena may have the survival instincts of a toddler, but damn the girl is ballsy.
She gestures to her ear to let him know that we could be heard, “I’ll tell you. Not here. Can we trust you?”
Elena’s question has Elijah raising a brow and then glancing at me momentarily before turning back towards her, “Can I trust you?”
Elena nods before handing over the silver dagger to Elijah, who slowly takes it.
I should really stop answering Elena’s phone calls.
—
Ten minutes later, the three of us are driving to the Mayor’s house. Elena is driving while Elijah is in the passenger seat drinking from a blood bag. I have been fighting the urge yet again to gag ever since Elena pulled out the first one for him. But, the blood seems to be doing him good since his veiny skin has almost returned to its once-normal color. I am currently watching the two from my position in the backseat of Elena’s car. The entire car ride has been filled with tension as Elijah glares at Elena and the ladder only sends him sheepish looks in return. Elijah has not once turned to glance at me like he would before he was daggered. Before I was annoyed with his staring but I think I’m now more annoyed by him not staring. God, I need to get a grip.
Elena pulls over puts the car in park and turns to Elijah, “You look better.”
“Where did you get the dagger?”
“I’ll tell you everything. But we have to work together, Elijah. I need your word.”
“Your ability to make demands has long passed.”
Elena nods, “No demands. I’m offering you my help. And in return I want yours.”
“And why should I even consider this?”
“The same reason you haven’t killed me. You need my help to kill Klaus. And I need you.”
Their conversation is interrupted by Elena’s phone ringing. Uh oh. Elena answers the phone but I’m unable to hear who’s on the other end. But from Elena’s voice, I’m going to assume it’s Stefan.
“Yes, I’m fine…. He’s right here... No Stefan, Elijah, Y/n and I need some time alone… Yes, Y/n is here aswell.”
At this, I lean forward towards Elena’s phone, “Hey Stefan!”
Elena looks at me, “He says Hi.”
I smile to myself and lean back in my seat.
Elena looks over at Elijah, who I now realize can hear everything Stefan is saying so I’m the only one who doesn’t know what’s going on. Typical.
“Elijah is a noble man, Stefan. He lives by a code of honor. I can trust him. He knows that I’d be incredibly stupid to betray him again. By removing the dagger, I have proven myself… It’s my decision, Stefan. Please respect it. And make sure that Damon doesn’t do anything stupid.”
I snort at that because I just know Damon is indeed going to do something stupid.
“I’ll be in touch,” And with that, she ends the call.
Elena and Elijah stare at each other for a moment before he places out his palm for her phone. She sighs as she gives it to him and I almost laugh until Elijah’s hand comes towards me.
“Seriously,” I groan but am not met with a response. Asshole. I feel like a child getting her toys taken away as I toss my phone into Elijah’s palm. Elijah puts the phones in his suit. I wonder how many pockets he’s got in that thing?
“He’s here,” Elena’s words have me sitting up in my seat.
“Klaus is here?”
“He’s taken over Alaric’s body.”
“Of course he has. It’s one of his favorite tricks.”
“He’s quite the people person,” I say sarcastically under my breath, but Elijah must’ve heard it as he whips around in his seat and his eyes widen as he looks at me.
“You met him,” His tone has a tinge of worry and I just nod slightly.
“Well ya, he taught my history class, not very well might I add, and I think I called him an asshole at one point. I don’t understand how you were able to spend years with him. One afternoon with him and I’m already planning his demise.”
“Did he hurt you?”
My eyebrows furrow and I shake my head, “Other than my ears. No. He said I wasn’t on his hit list. Do I remember that right Lena?”
Elena nods from her seat.
Elijah stares at me before his eyes trail to my right thigh for a split moment. I frown at him before he turns back in his seat.
“What are his other tricks? What is he gonna do next? You’re the only one who knows him,” Elena asks Elijah.
“Yes, I do.”
—
“Great, this lady,” I say under my breath as Ms. Lockwood opens her front door for us. Elijah sends her a warm smile that is quite clearly fake.
“Elijah, Elena, what are you doing here? What happened,” Shes asks and I fight the urge to tell her I’m here too.
“I’ve had a bit of an incident, Carol. I’m hoping you could help.”
“Well, I’m on my way to a meeting, so I-”
Elijah steps forward, “We won’t take but a minute of your time.”
After a moment Carol’s face brightens, “Of course. Anything you need.”
He thanks her as we walk through the threshold of the house.
“Well, first things first. I’m going to need a change of clothing.”
“Well, we can try one of my husband’s suits. I haven’t boxed them up yet.”
“Wonderful.”
Ms. Lockwood walks away and Elena turns to Elijah, “How did you know she’s not on vervain?
“Cause I’m the one who got her off it. Right before you and your friends killed me, twice. If you’ll excuse me. I’ll be done in a moment.”
Elijah walks off and Elena and I stare at each other, “Well this seems to be going well,” I say sarcastically and Elena rolls her eyes.
—
I hold the glass of water in my hands tentatively as I watch Elena watch Elijah who glances around the parlor we’re currently sitting in. I’m sitting next to Elena on a sofa while Elijah sits on a chair across from us.
“So, I assume the Martin witches are no longer with us.”
“No,” Elena says softly, “I’m sorry.”
“And Katerina. She would’ve been released from my compulsion when I died.”
“Klaus took her. We think that she may be dead.”
Elijah smirks, “I doubt that. Not Klaus’ style,” To which I nod my head in agreement. If some crazy guy has been tracking her for over 500 years I doubt he’ll give her a quick death.
“Death would be too easy for her after what she did.”
“I don’t understand. You say that you want Klaus dead. But you still made Katherine pay for betraying him.”
“I have my own reasons for wanting Katerina to pay. There was a time... I’d done anything for Klaus.”
“Were you guys like dating or something,” I ask which has Elijah turning to me with a disgusted look.
“No, we were not…” He pinches the bridge of his nose, “dating. Klaus is my brother.”
Holy shit. Holy shit. Holy shit.
I sit here with my mouth hung open as Elena seems just in as much shock as I am, “I heard that. I’m still processing.”
“Yes, I’m a little behind on the times But I believe the term you’re searching for is O-M-G.”
Elijah just sips his tea as he watches both of us go through the stages of shock.
“Y/n sweetheart, close your mouth or you’re jaw will start hurting,” I slowly close my mouth at Elijah’s words and he watches me with a smirk.
—
“There’s a whole family of Originals,” Elena asks Eljjah as he goes to stand by the unlit fireplace. I stare at the fireplace and go back into thought of the other night. Staring at the lit embers of the Salvatore’s fireplace and the red-hot rage I felt when I believed that Klaus had killed Bonnie. There’s been moments in my life where I’d felt angry or upset about things but never in my life had I felt that amount of anger. Just thinking back to it has me clenching my fists in my lap. I’m not an angry person. I’m not a bad person. So why could all I think about was making Klaus hurt?
“Y/n? Are you listening?”
I look over to see Elena looking at me wearily. I stare at her blankly and then look to Eijah who is already staring at me. He looks down at my clenched fists and his lips move downwards.
“What were you saying,” I ask Elijah trying to sound nonchalant as I place my hands under my legs.
Elijah stares at me for a moment almost unsure before he clears his throat, “My father was a wealthy land owner in a village in eastern Europe. Our mother bore seven children.”
Elena stands from her seat, “So your parents were human?”
Her question has me wanting to roll my eyes. What an idiotic question. I make myself uncomfortable with that thought though and how cruel and unlike me it was.
“Our whole family was. Our origin as vampires is a very long story, Elena. Just know…we’re the oldest vampires in the world. We are the Orignal family. And from us all, vampires were created.”
“Right, but Klaus is your brother. And you want him dead?”
“I need some air. I’m still feeling a tad… dead,” He walks past Elena and I towards the front door, “Come.”
I take a deep breath as I stand up and walk behind Elena and Elijah. Hoping a walk in the fresh air will clear my thoughts. But when I look down at one of my opened palms I freeze. Raising my hand I see four red fingernail cuts with slight specks of blood around them. My eyebrows furrow as I look at the wound. Did I just do this to myself?
“Y/N, are you coming,” I look to see Elena standing by the threshold waiting for me. I nod as I put my injured hand in the pocket of my sweatshirt and put that under “Problems for another day” slot.
—
“So as you’ve seen’ nothing can kill an Original. Not sun, not fire, not even a werewolf bite. Only the wood from one tree. A tree, my family made sure burned.”
“That’s where the white ash for the dagger comes from.”
“Yes. The witches won’t allow anything truly immortal to walk the earth. Every creature needs to have a weakness in order to maintain the balance,” Elijah responds as he leads us through the garden at the Mayor’s house. I trail behind him and Elena not feeling exactly ecstatic for yet another history lesson.
“So the sun can’t kill an Original. Why is Klaus so obsessed with breaking the sun and moon curse?”
Elijah smiles, “Right. The curse of the sun and the moon. It’s all so…Biblical-sounding don’t you think?”
Elijah looks at both of us oddly, “What’s so funny?”
I listen with eyebrows drawn together as Elijah tells us about the time years ago when Klaus drew the drawings for the curse.
“I don’t understand…Klaus drew the Aztec sketches about the curse?”
“Roman scrolls, African tribal etchings and any other culture or continent we felt like planting it in.”
Elena still seems confused, “But why?”
“Easiest way to discover the existence of a doppelganger or get your hands on some lost, lost moon stone is to have every single member of two warring species on the lookout.”
“So it’s not Aztec at all?”
From the smirk on Elijah’s face and the oddness of this all I’m going to take a wild guess here, “It’s a decoy isn’t it?”
Elijah seems happy with my connection and nods his head, “The curse of the sun and moon is fake. It doesn’t exist.”
We walk with Elijah some more before he starts talking again, “Klaus and I faked the sun and moon curse dating back over a thousand years.”
Elena shakes her head, “But if there’s no curse…”
Elijah cuts her off, “There’s a curse. Just not that one. The real one’s much worse. It’s a curse placed on Klaus.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Klaus has been trying to break it for over the last thousand years. And you were his only hope.”
“Well, what is this curse?’’
Elijah doesn’t answer as he reaches into his chest pocket and pulls out Elena’s ringing phone, “Your phone won’t stop its incessant buzzing. Answer it, please.”
Elena grabs the phone and answers the phone call from who I’m guessing is Stefan but her mood instantly changes to what I think is fear. I step closer to her trying to hear what Stefan’s saying but I can’t.
“No…no,no,no…Okay I’ll be right there.”
“Elena what happened,” I ask her.
“Klaus went after Jenna. I have to go to her.”
“I’m afraid that wasn’t a part of the day’s arrangement.”
I get heavily annoyed at this, “Well obviously she didn’t plan for your brother to go after Jenna,” I turn to Elena, “You go I’ll stay here.”
Elena looks at me wearily and I know in any other situation she wouldn’t leave me alone but it’s Jenna we’re talking about here.
“I’ll be back,” She turns to Elijah, “You have my word.”
“That doesn’t mean anything to me until you live up to it.”
Elena thanks him and with one last look at me she runs back to her car. Elijah and I stand there silently as we watch Elena’s car roll out of the driveway and out of sight. The silence is anything but comfortable as I stand still watching the road. From my peripheral though I can see Elijah now staring at me.
“God, you need to decide if you want to ignore me or stare at me,” I grunt as I start walking back towards a white picnic table overlooking the pond. I can hear Elijah’s footsteps behind me.
“You’re upset with me,” He says matter-of-factly.
I place my ass down on the seat and Elijah sits himself on the other side of the table. He watches me and I just stare at him for a moment before huffing. Honestly, I am not mad at him and I’m not sure why I’m as agitated as I am.
“No, I’m not.”
Elijah quirks a brow, “My mistake,” He smirks slightly but it drops when he sees my blank stare.
“Let me see,” He reaches his hand across the table with his palm open.
“You already have my phone, remember.”
“Not your phone. Your hand. I could smell the blood on it the second you cut yourself. Now, let me see.”
“No,” I say defiantly.
“Y/n…I just want to see it,” I look back over to him and the small smile on his face has some of the agitation I’m feeling slip away.
I bring my hand up and show it to him, “It’s not a big deal.”
Elijah takes my hand in his and he brushes his fingers over the small wounds. He has a deep frown on his face as he looks back up to me.
“Did I make you do this?”
I shake my head in confusion, “What? Why would you ask that?”
“When I was telling my family’s history I saw how you seemed to check out. Was it something I had said?”
I stare at him and his almost saddened face for a moment before clenching my eyes and taking a deep breath, “No, Elijah. It wasn’t something you said.”
“Then what was it,” At his continuous questioning a surge of annoyance builds within me again.
“Jesus, why do you care,” My burst of emotions don’t seem to set him off and he just sends me a small smile.
“When it comes to you I’ll always care.”
I take my hand from his but he doesn’t move his empty one from the table between us. As if waiting for me to place mine back in his. After a moment he reluctantly brings his hand back to his person.
“Why,” I ask him.
“You know I can’t tell you that right now.”
His shrug off has my anger bursting again and I glare down at the table in front of me.
“How long has this been going on?”
I send him a look, “How long has what been going on?”
He looks at me like I’m a puzzle with a missing piece, “The bursts of emotions and anger you’ve been feeling. I can see it clearly from your face and your body. Something’s angering you. And if you say it’s not me than what is it?”
“Why do you want to know?”
Elijah gives me a “Are you serious” look, “So I can take away whatever is paining you.”
I think to myself for a moment before responding, “Well lucky for both of us if everything goes as planned than what is paining me will meet his demise soon enough.”
At my admission Elijah sits back slightly, “You’re talking about Klaus?”
I nod and Elijah’s frown deepens, “I thought you said he didn’t hurt you.”
“He didn’t, other than a few choices words and the way he acted around me, we didn’t interact much. But he did hurt Bonnie. And when I thought she was dead all I could think about was how much I wanted him to hurt.”
I look up to Elijah waiting for whatever unnerved look he’s going to have on his face. I haven’t told anyone my thoughts about this because I didn’t want them to think I’m some violent freak but when I look at Elijah all I see on his face is understanding.
“I understand your hurt. And I’m sorry I wasn’t there to protect you and your friend. Is she alright now?’’
I’m weary about telling him Bonnie’s actually alive but something in my gut tells me I can trust him.
“Ya, she’s alright now.”
“What does it feel like, this anger?”
His question has me silent for a moment as I think it over, “It isn’t like anything I’ve ever felt before. It’s like it takes over my whole body and I can’t think straight. It scares me,” I admit the last part quietly.
Elijah looks at me and his eyes show something I can’t put my finger on. He catches me staring and changes his face into one of nonchalnce.
“What you’re feeling is normal Y/n. You’ve experienced more in the past few months than many will experience in their entire lives.”
I almost groan at the textbook explanation.
We sit there is silence for the next few moments until I see his expression change to one of slight confusion, “You said between your choice words and interactions you had with my brother? What were they?”
I think back to the day of the 60’s dance and frown, “He just stared at me weirdly in the beginning. And I went up to him asking him what was wrong, still thinking he was Ric, and he just gave me the cold shoulder and told me not to bother him. But then later that night at the dance he…kind of helped me. I guess.”
Elijah frowns and his next words come out low, “Helped you how?”
I remember the slight not heart attack I had and decide worrying anyone about that now is a bad idea, “I just choked on my drink a bit and he just made me sit in a seat and gave me some water to help.”
Elijah nods but from the look on his face I don’t think he entirely believes me, “Anything else?’’
I begin to shake my head and then stop, “When I figured out he wasn’t Ric he said something.”
“What did he say?”
“He said something about understanding now why he would like me or something like that. I don’t really know what he mean’t by that. Do you?”
Elijah stares at me and blinks once. Then twice and then once more before he slowly shakes his head. His reaction has me unnerved. And that’s exactly how he looks, unnerved. Almost spooked. And whatever spooks an immortal who can’t be killed is definetly going to make me nervous.
“Elijah? What’s wrong?”
Elijah instantly fixes his posture and leans forward, “You’re to stay away from my brother Y/n, do you understand me? Give me your word.”
At his urgent tone I frown, “Well I mean I’m not going to bring a basket of muffins to his house and welcome him to the neighborhood if that’s what you’re talking about.’’
My joke only seems to agitate him more, “Y/n.”
His voice comes out hard and stern making me instantly nod my head, “Ok, Elijah. I know.”
My agreement seems to ease him a bit. We hear the sound of a car pulling in and I watch as Elena climbs out of her car and walks to us likes she’s a woman on a mission.
“I’m sorry.”
Elijah voice has me turning back towards him and his face is now one of sorrow, “Sorry for what?”
“Back at the dinner party, I hurt you,” He gestures to my right thigh, “It was the last thing I remember doing while being daggered. And even in my comatose state it was all I dreamt about. I told you I would never hurt you and I did exactly that and I’ll never forgive myself for it.”
I’m taken aback by his confession and the look in his eyes overwhelms me.
“It’s ok, Elijah. You didn’t know. Ric and Damon took you by surprise it’s not your fault.”
Elijah opens his mouth to speak again before Elena cuts in, “Tell us. What is Klaus’s curse?”
—-
I sit next to Elena, back on the sofa from before, as Elijah stands before us. After Elena got back Elijah guided us back inside.
“You know, my family was quite close but Klaus and my father did not get on too well. When we became vampires, we discovered the truth. Klaus was not my father’s son. My mother had been unfaithful many years before. This was her darkest secret. Klaus is from a different bloodline. Of course, when my father discovered this he hunted down and he killed my mother’s lover and his entire family.”
My eyebrows raise at everything he’s telling us. And even though I hate Klaus, as someone with a strained paternal relationship I almost feel bad for him. Almost.
“Not realizing, of course that was igniting a war between species that rages until this day.”
Elena and I share a look, “A war between the species?”
Elijah nods, “The vampires…and the werwolves.”
Wait. If Klaus’ birthfather was a werewolf…holy shit.
“So Klaus’ real father was from a werewolf bloodline? What does that make Klaus? A werewolf or a vampire,” Elena’s question has me sitting up in my seat but a part of me already knows the answer.
“He’s both.”
I’m going to puke again.
“A hybrid would be deadlier than any werwolf or vampire. Nature would not stand for such an imbalance of power. Therefore the witches, the servants of nature saw to it that my brother’s werwolf side would become dormant.”
“That’s the curse that Klaus wants to break?”
“He wants to trigger that part of him that’s a werewolf. If allowed, Klaus would sire his own bloodline. He’d build his own race. Endangering not just vampires…but everyone.”
Elena stands up but I stay seated as I try to process all this new information without puking up my lunch on my shoes.
“But you helped him,” Elena says to him.
“I helped him because I loved him. That’s changed. Now he must die.”
“We have the dagger now. We can stop him,” Elena be so fucking for real right now.
“When a werewolf is wounded by silver, it heals. An Original can’t be killed by anything but white oak ash on a silver dagger. So you see the conundrum. The dagger does not work.”
“What are you saying that Klaus can’t be killed?”
“There’s one way to kill any supernatural species. At the hands of the servants of nature themselves.”
“A witch. If they can channel that much power. But it would kill them.”
“The curse must be broken during the full moon. When Klaus is in transition. That’s when he’ll be at his most vulnerable. A witch with enough power…can kill Klaus.”
“What if I told you that I knew a witch that could channel that much power,” At Elena’s last sentence I’m whipping around in my seat. Is she being fucking serious right now?
“Then I would tell you there’s one more thing that you should know,” Elijah then goes on to tell us how he found an elixir that could’ve saved Katherine’s life if she’d not run.
“You found a way to save the life of the doppelganger?”
Elijah looks down at the floor, “Yes, Elena…I did,” He walks past her to come to stand next to where I’m seated, “But unfortunately, Katerina took matters into her own hands first. I believe you already know how that played out.”
“You cared about her didn’t you,” At Elena’s question I look up to Elijah who is already staring down at me.
“It’s a common mistake I’ve been told. It’s one that won’t happen ever again,” Our eyes are locked for the what seems like an eternity before he glances down at my hands and clears his throat.
“We should be going now,” He says before he reaches his hand down for me to take. I grasp his hand and he gently pulls me up. He drops my hand as soon as I’m up though and walks towards the front door leaving Elena and I standing there in shock.
“I need a drink.”
Elena shoots me a look, “You don’t drink.”
“Damnit, you’re right.”
—
“Stop!”
Elijah has moved in front of me to shield me from the two buffons in front of us who are fighting each other. Elena drove the three of us back to the Salvatore mansion and as soon as we open the door we heard Yoda and the demon harassing each other.
Elena steps down the steps towards them and I go to follow but Elijah puts out his hand to stop me. He shoots me a glance and a shake of his head. Guess I’m staying right here then.
“Now you’ve invited him in,” Damon gawks at Elena.
“Elijah and I have renewed the terms of our deal.”
“Really,” Damon’s sarcastic voice ticks me off.
“Can’t you just listen for 30 seconds before making an unwanted comment Demon,” I yell over Elijah’s shoulder at the blue-eyed vampire.
“Shut it, pukey. I wasn’t talking to you,” Damon barely has time to finish his sentence before Elijah flashes in front of him and shoves him backwards.
“You will watch you’re tone when speaking to her. Or better yet,” Elijah picks invisible lint off his shoulder, “Don’t speak to her at all. Am I understood?”
Damon growls underneath his breath which has Elijah stepping towards him and Damon holding up his hands, “Fine.”
Elijah walks back up to stand in front of me and next to Elena as if he didn’t just threaten Damon, “The two of you will come to no harm at my hands. I only ask for one thing in return.”
“What?”
“An apology.”
A loud guffaw escapes my lips as I hunch over clenching my stomach.
“A what,” Damon’s tone only has me laughing louder and I feel Elena slightly nudge me to get a grip. I lean against the railing to catch my breath as Stefan steps forward and looks up to Elijah.
“I’m sorry for the part I’ve played in your death. I was protecting Elena. I will always protect Elena.”
I let out a small “aw.”
“I understand,” Elijah glances towards me. And then we all turn towards the Demon in the room.
“Sacrifice is going to happen, Damon. Bonnie will be able to kill Klaus without hurting herself and Elijah knows how to save my life. I told you I’d find another way. And I did.”
Damon glares at Elijah, “Is that true.”
“It is.”
“And you’re trusting him?”
“I am.”
“You can all go to hell,” Damon bites out as he walks away.
“Can’t say I didn’t see that one coming,” I let out.
Stefan shakes his head, “He’s angry with me right now.”
“Damon’s always angry at you.”
Stefan looks at me for a moment and his upper lip twitches before falling back into his tortured look.
“But, he’ll come around.”
“Perhaps,” Elijah responds.
We all stand there for a moment before I yawn.
“You should get some rest,” Elijah says to me.
“I don’t really want to go home right now. Empty house and all. And since, he who shall not be named, doesn’t have to be invited in…well y’know.”
“You’ll stay here,” Stefan says to me, “For as long as you need.”
“Let’s just hope this is over soon. I don’t want to live under the same roof with that thing,” I point towards the direction Damon went, “For too long.”

Katerina gulped, fear shining in her eyes, as she took in Elijah's words. She hadn't run from them just to be caught so close to freedom. "God help me, but I still do trust you." She muttered, as she looked the way she'd came. She hoped Trevor was okay. "What should we do?"
this would be fun to watch

you can make a one-shot for klaus mikaelson very much in love with y/n based on the song i wanna be yours by arctic monkeys (you can do it from klaus's point of view)
I wanna be yours
Pairing: Klaus Mikaelson x Katherine's sister! reader Summary: Over the ages, Klaus finally matures to admit that he has fallen in love with you, Katherine Pierce's sister. However, can you two be more than occasional "once in a century" one-night stands? Can he be yours, and you only his? Nonsense from me: So sorry it took me so long. I hope You like it. <;3 Warning(s): the reader is afraid of relationships and commitments; Klaus loves the reader, but it takes 400 years for him to realize it; violence; blood; curses; and so on Word count: ???(9k)???(I don't know why and when it became so long, and I'm a little nervous that it's such a long tapeworm)
I wanna be your vacuum cleaner Breathing in your dust
It started very innocently, like any real apocalypse or nightmare. Klaus didn't even realize when Y/N Petrova—the sister of the cold bitch, pain in the ass, and one and only Katherine Pierce—stole his heart.
Yes. She stole it. Klaus did not believe that he would willingly give her the meager remnants of his humanity (even if he hated them).
He could easily have been hiding his unwanted desire for centuries. Occasional encounters with the younger Petrova, their accidental, intense trysts, and once-in-a-century one-night stands, were completely enough to quench his thirst for this diabolical, dangerous woman.
But since their paths met again in Mystic Falls (while searching for a cure for vampirism), Klaus wanted more.
He desperately sought her slightest attention. He followed her around the city like a shadow. He stayed with her as much as he could, even giving her access to his cure research and telling her what he did know about it… well, part of it - Mikaelson can't trust the devil's sister. But everything he was doing since she arrived was just for Y/N to find her way back to his bed again.
He needed to vent his lust to Y/N. He was sure that after one night together he would revert to his murderous habits and continue his ruthless fight for the cure without the (delightfully tempting and beautiful) distractions around him. He was wrong. Terrible wrong.
Her warmth, touch, scent, the softness of her skin, the wonderful moans that lingered in his mind, the delighted look on her blissful post-orgasmic face, and the soothing weight of her body on his as she fell peacefully asleep were like a nercotic to Klaus.
He needed more.
He needed more of her. He would take from her everything she could give him. Even if it was her hate, anger, frustration, or just pure physical desire. Even if being with her was leading to his downfall. She was a siren, and he willingly fell for her alluring song like a foolish pirate.
And now, lying with Y/N in his arms, as he tenderly combed her hair after a passionate night they spent together, he couldn't get the one stupid, irritatingly frequent thought out of his mind.
He wanted to be hers.
I wanna be your Ford Cortina I will never rust
He remembered the day when their mutual interest in each other turned into something more. (At least on his side.)
Y/N and Katerina were hiding from the originals in Venice. Klaus and his brother, thanks to their vampires, found the sisters there. So under the cover of night, masks on their faces, they mingled with the celebrating crowd.
Klaus sensed her before he saw her.
The scent of her sweet perfume hit his nostrils, enforcing his determination to find the fleeing vampire. He had to find her. Now.
He made his way through the crowd of people, searching among the masks and bodies for the one person who, despite such blatant betrayal, could easily soothe his anger with one banal kiss.
He remembered clearly one day teasing Elijah that he was starting to care about Katerina. He had no idea then that the younger Petrova was already paving the way to his cold, dead heart. Or that Y/N had him wrapped around her little finger. Klaus laughed bitterly, remembering his old words. "We do not feel and we do not care, Elijah." What would his former self think of him if it saw him chasing the slightest trace of the woman who had thwarted his plans to become a hybrid? What would he say if it came out that all Klaus wants to do now with the youngest Petrova is kiss the living hell out of her and lock her in his arms forever?
And when he saw her. On a gondola in the middle of one of the rivers, when her night-black mask concealed her beautiful face and eyes, which sparkled in the light of torches and lanterns floating above the water, he felt something he hadn't felt for a very long time and was very frightened to admit to himself...
For these eyes, many men have completely lost their minds. Suddeny, she looked in his direction, subconsciously sensing that she was being watched. And in this moment, when their eyes met, Klaus knew that, like those unfortunate fools before him, he too was lost forever. It takes her one look to make him forget his main goal.
In a second, he was on the other side of the river. He was standing on the pier, waiting for her gondola to reach the shore.
"Hello, love." he said, extending his hand to help her out. With incredible grace, she stood next to him, completely ignoring his gesture. He smiled. That's what he loved about her. Stubborn, steadfast independence.
"Klaus. I guess you're not here for food and music?" he smiled involuntarily, ignoring her feigned hostile tone as her irises met his again.
"I much prefer beautiful views. But you're right, my main goal was not to enjoy the festival. I had… completely different plans."
"With my sister? I can assure you that I'm much better company than Katerina. We may have… a different kind of play together. Much more pleasurable." she said with a seductive smile, blinking her eyelashes innocently as her hand played with the sleeve of his coat, occasionally touching the skin of his rough palm with her soft fingertips.
Another reminder of how different they were from each other.
"Are you trying to distract me so your lovely sister can run away again?"
"You tell me…" Y/N took a step towards him, pressing her chest against his. She licked her lips, drawing his heavy, watchful gaze. "Am I a good distraction, my lord?" she whispered, leaning closer to him so that their noses were touching.
Klaus had never been this close to her lips... but he couldn't afford to indulge in his darkest desires. Not like this - thanks to a cunning plan hatched by the Petrova siblings.
"You're playing a very dangerous game, love…" he responded quietly, slipping his hands into her hair. And when their lips would finally meet after century of chasing, he pushed her a decent distance away from him. Y/N gasped in outrage as she nearly bumped into the crates with fruits behind her. "You should be careful, or you'll get burned because of it someday. And know when and on whom to use those sweet eyes of yours, which can work, but only on lesser men. Now get away with Katerina before I change my mind."
Without waiting for her response, he headed in the opposite direction, leaving the young vampire behind. But Y/N wouldn't let him go that easily.
"You won't fool me! Not about that!" He turned to her, raising an eyebrow questioningly. Klaus was doing his best to hide from the woman in front of him his stupid fondness for her. He was the original vampire, a hybrid, and the most powerful and fearsome being on this earth. He couldn't have a weakness, much less a simple woman who had tricked him, escaped, and ruined his plans. But all he could do was stand there and watch her in fascination as she got angrier with every step closer to him. "I see desire in your eyes every time you look at me. You want me, and that's why you're playing cat and mouse with us, but you know what? I'm tired of taking orders. From Katerina, you, and others who best know what I should do."
"So? What are you going to do, love?" he asked, smiling maliciously in challenge. He was genuinely curious to see where the young vampire's frustration and fury might lead him today. She must have had a good argument with her sister before he got here. Otherwise, she would never touch him.
Y/N used her vampire-speed and pinned him to the wall of one of the buildings.
They stared into each other's eyes, building tension with anticipation of what both of them had wanted since they met. Y/N's running away and him killing her family didn't seem to be conducive to building a romance. But now, when so much time has passed and the youngest Petrova is still struggling with the vampire's heightened emotions? They succumbed to the pleasures of a forbidden affair, finally connecting their lips in their first lustful, passionate kiss.
"What time is it?" Y/N's soft, surly mumbling against his neck snapped Klaus out of his memories. He glanced at the alarm clock.
9 a.m.
"6 a.m." he lied to her, tightening his grip around her half-asleep body. He wasn't ready to let her go yet.
"So stop staring at me and go back to sleep, half-wolfie." she mumbled, squirming in his arms until she found a comfortable position with her head right over his heart and her legs between his.
"Half-wolfie?" he asked amusedly, laughing softly, which made the vampire's head bob slightly. She rose for a moment, opening one eye and shooting him a angry glare.
"Would you rather be an crossbreed? Sleep or I will take another bedroom in this ridiculously large house." she groaned, laying her head on his chest again.
"As you wish, love." he murmured, kissing the top of her head and letting himself go back to sleep, hugging the one woman he could never truly have.
Because no matter how many nights they spend together or how much time they devote to each other during the day, all they will be are midnight lovers, hiding their relationship.
They stood on opposite sides of the barricade.
Y/N would never leave Katerina, and Klaus wouldn't abandon his siblings for the younger Petrova.
The world and fate were against them.
And Klaus was the only one who was ready to fight with them, only to gain the feeling of a sleeping beauty in his arms.
If you like your coffee hot Let me be your coffee pot You call the shots babe I just wanna be yours
The problem that has plagued Klaus for ages is that he and Y/N could never truly belong together.
He couldn't make any claims to her, and every time he tried to transfer their friend/enemy relationship with benefits to something more, younger Petrova brought him down to earth. He never cared much about it. He believed that Y/N needed time to understand her feelings for him. However, one conversation he overheard put his hopes of being hers in great doubt.
"What's going on with you and Klaus?" Katerina laughed out loud, obviously genuinely amused by something. "Don't make that face. I was talking to Kol about how often you show up at their mansion at night and you don't really go to gossip with Rebekah or Elijah. Are you two together?"
"I don't know what you're talking about." she brushed it off, trying to get off topic.
"Oh come on, spill the beans! Do you love him?" Klaus unconsciously held his breath. His heart was beating wildly, waiting for her answer that could change everything between them, made his deepest dreams come true.
"If you must know, I don't love him. It is just sex. Very good and pleasant sex. No feelings except pure, animal desire and passion." Klaus felt as if he had been punched in the stomach. Yeah. What was he counting on? After all, no one could love a monster like him. Unconditional, sincere love was not meant for him… even if he wanted it so much.
"Ugh, okay! Spare me the details, I don't want to vomit. But I thought you…"
"Love is a vampire's greatest weakness, Katerina. And we are not weak." his breathing quickened as he realized the true meaning of her words.
She heard them. Somehow, 1,000 years ago, she'd heard him talking to Elijah about love in a vampire's life... Back when he didn't believe in the true power of such a thing as love.
"And what about me, then?"
"You're my sister. That's something different. Now, I have to go. See you tomorrow." he hid in the shadows, waiting for the two women to pass him, and stayed there for a while.
Even though Klaus' heart was broken into a thousand little pieces, he knew he couldn't resist Y/N. He would take anything she could give him. Even that delusion of romance and a loving relationship that he both dreamed of and hated at the same time.
He couldn't believe he could just fall for her when he knew full well that things between them could only be physical. However, he soon found out that love really doesn't choose.
Secrets I have held in my heart Are harder to hide than I thought Maybe I just wanna be yours I wanna be yours, I wanna be yours
Klaus wasn't about to show it to her. It was supposed to be a secret he would take with him to the grave (if someone managed to kill him). However, Y/N's curiosity, coupled with his lack of focus on finding the cure, made a very bad, devastating combination. He finally managed to focus on something other than the vampire who had been distracting him for centuries, and for a moment of inattention everything went haywire again. Ages of slowly and uncertainly, but still, winning Y/N's heart have gone to hell.
Only because he didn't lock up his damn art studio.
Kol is going to laugh so fucking hard when he finds out. His younger brother will never let him forget that he lost the love of his life because she was scared by a million paintings of her in his house. She probably thought he was a goddamn stalker.
Klaus stood in the doorway, watching Y/N's expressionless face. He admired and hated her ability to hide her emotions. He had the impression that she always read him like an open book. He couldn't hide anything from her. But she could easily hide from anyone behind her mask. It was both terrifying and fascinating at the same time.
"Are you going to say something?" he finally asked after waiting a long time for any reaction from her.
She shifted her gaze from the paintings to him. Klaus felt shivers run through his body. He couldn't remember the last time he felt such intense fear.
"Well, it's... it's nice. But you painted my nose wrong."
"What?! I didn't! I..." he stopped when he heard her burst out laughing after valiant attempts to hold back. A smile involuntarily formed on his face upon hearing this beautiful and rare sound. "You're not mad… or scared?"
"Of what? You weren't able to paint my nose properly? Or putting on me a yellow dress when you know that I hate that color?"
"It's not yellow, it's orange mixed with… Do you really have to tease me like that? Stop laughing, bloody woman."
"I'm sorry, you just make a funny face when you're protecting your art. To be honest, it's so sweet." she laughed so loudly that she had to lean in half.
"You should know better than to mock a very powerful and angry hybrid, love." he grunted in anger. Y/N, seeing how grumpy he had become, walked over to him with a cute smile. Klaus groaned internally. He didn't know which was worse. She running away from him or teasing him about it for the foreseeable future.
"Do you really think that after I saw all those paintings you can threaten me? I know you're obsessed with me, so I'm the most fucking safest person on earth." she bragged, throwing her arms around his shoulders.
"Don't be complacent, your pretty features are not unusual. I have seen many of them in my long life." he grunted, slapping her hands off of him.
"And yet I'm the only one who has a private collection of portraits made by the mighty hybrid."
"You won't let it go, would you?" he sighed, looking at the very amused woman as he tried to ignore the growing, warm feeling in his chest. God. How come that just hearing her laugh made him feel calm and happy?
"Nope." she said, putting her hands again on his shoulders and pulling him closer to her as she was playing with his hair. "But it's quite a nice feeling... you know, being your one and only beloved muse."
"Someone here is terribly pleased with themselves. I think I have to remind you of your place." he grunted feistily, grabbing her waist.
"I'd like to see you try."
Suddenly, Klaus swung her over his shoulder and slapped her bottom as he carried the laughing woman to his bedroom. Yeah... he was definitely in love with her.
Wanna be yours Wanna be yours Wanna be yours
Klaus began to squirm in the bed, trying to pull Y/N's warm body to him, which he had somehow lost in his sleep. He froze in place, feeling the emptiness on the other side of the bed. A familiar bitterness and disappointment took over his body. He could have guessed that she would leave him as usual. However, as he became more aware of his surroundings, he heard her muffled voice coming from the bathroom. She was talking to someone. This time she didn't leave him, she even stayed with him all night! Excitement and hope rose involuntarily in him. Maybe this time it will be different?
"Yes, Katherine, I know. I don't know how I overslept either. I know I'm irresponsible, and I'm ruining our plans. No. I'm not enjoying this situation, you're just acting like you got your period magically. It's not my fault I missed the plane, believe me, and don't you dare take your anger out on me just because you had a fight with Elijah. Talk to me when you've calmed down. I'm not going to be your punching bag. Bye." The bathroom door handle began to move, and Klaus quickly closed his eyes, pretending to be asleep.
Y/N walked into the room and sighed as she dropped the phone into her purse. She ran a hand through her hair in nervousness and turned to the hybrid.
"I know you're awake. You stopped snoring." the man snorted indignantly, opening his eyes and appreciating her underwear-clad body. He could wake up to this view every day. "I'll castrate your brother as soon as I see him. You're lucky you're useful, or you'd have suffered the same fate for tricking me this morning."
"Very brave for an ordinary vampire to plan an attack on the original as the first thing to do in the morning. Apart from that, I don't snore."
"My nights experience with you says otherwise. And please, we both know I'm not just an ordinary vampire. You'd better make up for your deception toward me today before I get offended and seek someone else's company. Maybe Damon will be perfect? I've heard that for Katherine, he is very good in..."
Klaus cut her off by pinning her against the wall. Their chests rubbed against each other, her lacy bra teasing his bare, exposed skin. She raised an eyebrow, completely unimpressed. Klaus growled, baring her neck and extending his fangs to teasingly run them over her most sensitive spots.
"You will not talk about another man in my bedroom. These lips..." he said, resting his thumb against her soft pink lip, forcing Y/N to part her mouth. "Can only whisper, scream and moan my name. I must have been too gentle with you yesterday if you had the audacity to tease me like that. Maybe I should make sure you know who you belong to?"
"I don't belong to anyone."
"Wrong answer, love." he growled throatily, pulling her against him and pushing her against the bed as he climbed over her until their faces floated at the same height.
"What are you going to do? Fuck me to death? You should know better than to scare me with a good time, Niklaus."
"I'm going to do something completely different, love." Y/N raised an eyebrow questioningly, challenging him. Suddenly, fear flickered in her eyes as she realized his true intentions.
"No, Nik. We agreed never to…"
"That was ages ago, love." he murmured with a smirk as he began tickling her over the bare skin of her sensitive belly that was exposed to him.
"NO! HAHAH-NIK, STOP! I-HAHAHA!" she screamed, throwing herself into his arms, trying to avoid his fingers.
"I'm sorry. There is no mercy for you, love. At least you apologize."
"I"M-HAHAHA SORRY! PLEASE-HAHAHA SSSTOP IT!"
"You know what I meant, Y/N." he replied unfazed, only strengthening his attack against her sensitive skin.
"I CAN'T WITH-HAHAHAHAH YOUR FINGERS-HAHAHAH ON ME-AHAHAHA!" Klaus took pity on her, stopping to tickle her as he studied her red-laughing face intently as she took in quick, short breaths. "I hate you." she panted, breathing heavily. Klaus took a breath to answer her, but his sister's scream stopped him.
"Nik! Kol is in danger! He went to the Gilbert house to kill Jeremy, and they still have an white oak stake left! What the bloody hell?! Y/N?!" she screamed, turning her back to them two as soon as she entered the room and saw... THIS.
The two vampires looked at each other in shock.
"Hi, Rebekah. That's not what it looks like."
"So you don't fuck my brother?"
"Well, I did it earlier, but… Klaus, could you please get off me? This is awkward enough already."
"And put some clothes on you for the love of God!" Rebekah added, still with her back to them. Once they were both decent, Rebekah looked at them in disbelief.
"You two... How? When?!"
"Some 400 years ago. So, Kol…"
"WHAT?! But you hate each other! Well, maybe he's staring at you with puppy dog eyes in love, but you loathe him!" she shouted, pointing at her grumpy brother with her finger.
Klaus rolled his eyes. He didn't care at all about what situation Rebekah found them in. His siblings had an extraordinary tendency to come into his bedroom at more... steamy moments. To be honest, he was more surprised that Rebekah had only discovered their little secret now. Talking about her.
The original turned his curious gaze to Y/N. Again, their future was in her hands. But the vampire didn't seem eager to change their relationship in any way. Certainly not in the way Klaus had dreamed of for so long...
"Am I the only one in this room who actually cares about your brother's life? What did Kol do this time?" her attention turned away from her the penetrating gaze of the man sitting next to her.
Y/N breathed a sigh of relief as the siblings plunged into conversation. However, from the look Klaus gave her, she knew things would change drastically between them in the next few days. She could no longer avoid his longing glances and dismiss his attempts to establish a friendly, partner relationship instead of stopping at their one-night stands. But did she want to change anything?
Let me be your leccy meter And I'll never run out And let me be the portable heater That you'll get cold without
"It's a cold night." he said, sneaking up behind her and throwing his cloak over her shoulders. "I dare say that a short dress doesn't help keep you warm."
"Don't even start. I'm just waiting for the moment when I can wear pants without getting those judging, murderous looks from other women and lecherous expressions on the faces of these perverts."
"Rebekah says the same thing…" he tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and fastened the buttons on his coat. Y/N giggled, returning Klaus' blue eyes to her face again. Only then did the man realize what he was doing, and he let go of the buttons, leaving her half-buttoned with a mischievous smirk on her lips. He felt his cheeks heat up slightly. "What are you doing here?"
"Katherine is playing with humans nearby. I thought I'd drop by for a visit and see for myself this great kingdom you've built, Klaus the Madness." she replied, leaning again against the railing of his balcony and staring out at the lively, dancing streets of New Orleans.
The light from the street lamp illuminated her face. Klaus absorbed all the changes that had taken place in her appearance, stating only that she was even more beautiful than when they last met. He didn't know how she did it.
"Is my fame starting to finally overtake me?" he asked, joining her side quickly. Y/N looked at him with a teasing smile, playing with the bracelet on his wrist. The same she gave him an century ago. She didn't think Klaus was sentimental enough to keep it.
"You are on the lips of all supernaturals in the world." she finally replied, shifting her gaze to his eyes, which shone in the light of the street lamp.
"Well, I would rather be on the tempting lips of only one, beautiful supernatural."
"And who could it be, my lord?" she replied in an equally flirtatious tone as her hand began to travel along his arm and muscles.
"Those mesmerizing eyes and cheeky lips will put you someday in a big trouble, love."
"Please, I'm Y/N Petrova. I'm always in danger, but I can get myself out. And also…" she kissed him, slowly undoing the buttons on his shirt. Klaus groaned, drawing her closer with one arm and cupping her warm cheek with the other hand. God, he missed the feeling of her in his arms. She pulled away from him, placing one finger over his lips, and staring at his eyes dilated with lust as they both breathed heavily. She ran one hand over the exposed skin of his chest, suddenly grabbing his necklace and pulling him to her with all her strength so that their noses rubbed against each other. "I'm not afraid of you."
"And that is your great mistake, love."
"Probably." she whispered, licking her lips in anticipation. She smiled as soon as she saw his gaze follow the movement of her tongue.
"Definitely." he replied, grabbing her waist, lifting her, and vampire-speeding her to his bedroom, where they could be as loud and as naked as they wanted.
That night was amazing. One of the best they had: she visited him for the first time in his beloved city, the home he built and hoped it would be theirs in the future, where he is for Y/N something more than a nightly forbidden pleasure. However, the pain of rejection when Klaus woke up in the morning among cold sheets with no goodbye note effectively pulled him out of this childish fantasy of belonging to her. He could never really have her. And Y/N reminded him about it every time.
I wanna be your setting lotion (Wanna be) Hold your hair in deep devotion (How deep?) At least as deep as the Pacific Ocean I wanna be yours
"What you were thinking about?! YOU COULD DIE THERE!" Klaus yelled at the woman as Rebekah took the last bits of wood out of the vampire's wound. She was only allowed into Y/N because Klaus' hands were too trembling for him to remove the white oak from his vampire's body by himself. Kol watched with great guilt as Petrova winced in pain.
"If that kid hit Kol, Rebekah wouldn't have much to fix, Klaus. I would be nothing but ashes, and you know that. Besides, I can say the same about you. You ran in there uninvited and ran out with me in your arms when you almost passed out from the pain yourself. What if they had more stakes? You could have died too." he ignored her, thrashing about the room in anger. Y/N snorted, falling onto the couch, so she got more comfortable while Rebekah was searching for the last splinter.
"I'm going to burn down their hellhouse as soon as I put my dear little brother back in the coffin." Kol jumped up from the couch with a horrified look.
"What?! But Nik, I..." the original tried to explain himself but stopped when Klaus threw a bottle at him.
"You went there even though you knew full well that they could kill us! You are a danger not only to yourself and Y/N but also to us, showing them how weak and easy to kill we are. You don't remember what the hell happened to Finn?! You want to share his bloody fate!" he shouted, walking towards his brother. Y/N jumped up from her seat and stood between the brothers, placing her hand on the hybrid's furiously beating heart.
"Klaus. You need to calm down."
"Go away, Y/N. This is between me and Kol. Rebekah, take her somewhere safe until I can deal with this mess our brother created." he growled at his sister, not giving the woman in front of him a single glance.
"No."
"What did you say?" he growled, finally looking at her for the first time since he saw little Gilbert stake her (luckily for the young hunter, he missed).
"I said no, Niklaus. You won't tell me what to do. If I want to, I'll take a stake for him again and again. I'll even protect him from your stupid daggers, and you can't change that." Rebekah and Kol nodded, both agreeing to leave the room as soon as "mom and dad" began to fight. They left unnoticed as the two stared at each other. Y/N with incredible calm; Klaus with incredible fury.
Why is she so devoted to Kol? What did he do that Y/N, without a moment's hesitation, threw herself in front of him to protect him from the white oak? What did he say to her to elicit such feelings from her?
"Why? What happened that you suddenly started feeling so strongly attached? I thought you were afraid of commitment, love." he asked bitterly, with clear resentment in his voice.
"Don't you dare to do this about us."
"YOU ALWAYS DOING IT ABOUT EVERYTHING BUT NOT US!" he shouted, tired of hiding his emotions. Especially after less than 15 minutes ago, she was in danger of dying in his arms. He had had enough. He was tired. And the object of his only desire did everything in her power to make things difficult for him. Yet he still couldn't be mad at her.
Good thing Kol got the hell out of there. Otherwise, his brother would have ripped off his head with my bare hands.
"Klaus, there is no time for..."
"Do you love him?" he asked, interrupting her. Panic rose in his chest, waiting for her answer—for Y/N to plunge the dagger into his barely beating heart and destroy whatever hope was left in him.
"What?!"
"You've heard me. Do you love my brother?"
"Yes. And this is exactly why I was fucking with you for the last 400 bloody years! My god, are you so blinded by your rage at Kol that it attacks your last brain cells?! That you insinuate some made-up, idiotic stuff and pounce on everyone like a rabid dog?!" she screamed, walking up to him unconsciously so that she was shouting it straight in his face.
"It's not anger that controls me." he growled through his teeth, clenching his fists in anger.
"Then what is it?!"
"Do you really want me to say it out loud, Y/N?" he whispered, staring at her softly. Y/N immediately calmed down. The atmosphere in the room changed from agitated to terrifyingly calm. They could both hear their frantically beating hearts in the oppressive silence between them.
"I..."
"NIKLAUS!" Elijah's scream and his quick footsteps interrupted their conversation. The woman thanked all the gods above who had sent the original at that moment.
"The worst bloody moment." Klaus whispered under his breath, thinking she wouldn't hear him, and brushed past her, leaving her alone in the room.
And Y/N wondered, breathing heavily after their argument… did she really want to hear THAT from Klaus? Was she ready for such a big change in their lives?
Secrets I have held in my heart Are harder to hide than I thought Maybe I just wanna be yours I wanna be yours, I wanna be yours
"Miss Mystic Falls? Are you kidding me? You know, if you're sending me a dress with a place to visit, I'm expecting more than some stupid, stiff party for teenage girls and their rich parents." she whined, walking around the pond with the laughing hybrid.
"Be quieter, love. These girls have pretty sharp nails."
"And I've got fangs, claws, and you. I'm damn better armed." she said, counting on her fingers, smirking mischievously.
"Should I take that as a compliment or an insult?"
"As if you cared if I offended you."
"Well since we're on our date..."
"Date?! First of all, since when do you even date? Secondly, we're not on one. And third: a beautiful dress will not suddenly win you my favor. Aside from the fact that neither of us is suited to any kind of relationship, I have to ask you. Who are you and what have you done with Klaus Mikaelson?!" Klaus started laughing out loud, unknowingly attracting the attention of the Mystic Falls gang. They did not think either of them had ever seen the original in such a good mood without committing any murder first. "Seriously, what happened to you? You're nice, you're flirty, and you haven't threatened to kill my sister once. I almost didn't recognize you in that suit. Are you trying to be Elijah?"
"Maybe Klaus is on vacation." they walked all the way around the pond and went back to the party. A slow tune started to play. "Will you please me, love?"
Y/N blushed slightly, accepting his outstretched hand. Klaus led them to the dance floor, keeping his distance from her, which made Y/N curse him internally. After being apart for so long, all she wanted was to feel his skin against hers. Nik didn't need to make this romance feel, prolonging everything... But her stupid, treacherous heart was beating madly with every minute she spent close to the original shamelessly flirting with her. And she didn't know how much more she would be able to push him away.
"On vacation? Do you have a split personality, or are you just not in this cure fight? I thought you would like to turn your doppelgänger into a human." she finally broke the silence, returning to their earlier conversation.
"I don't need hybrids that much. It turned out to be… not exactly a good idea."
"Let me guess. They inherit your character, and now you can't take these anymore? Welcome into my world! I have to deal with your grumpy attitude at any time we meet."
"Ouch. That really hurt." he leaned closer, waiting to see if she was going to push him off. She leaned closer still, trying to concentrate on anything but how his hands were on her waist. Y/N missed him in this big break they had. But she wouldn't be the one to admit it first.
"And yet you still come back to me like a lost puppy. Am I such an astonishing person that the mighty hybrid just can't imagine his life without me?" Klaus smiled and dipped her, holding her tight in his arms like she was about to disappear in any second. They looked deeply into each other's eyes, enchanted by the moment and totally forgetting about the world around them. Their lips were so close…
"Maybe." he whispered, gently nudging her nose with his. Y/N held her breath unconsciously, waiting for his next move as they still couldn't tear their eyes away from each other. "Maybe I just wanna be yours." Klaus leaned closer to her, willing to cross the last millimeter between them, but someone's loud grunt effectively killed the mood. If looks could kill, Damon Salvatore would be dead by now. Probably long before meeting any originals.
"I'm not sorry for interrupting you while you were trying to get a bite into your snack, but we kind of need your help… Y/N? What the hell are you doing here?!"
"Long time, no see, Damon. Did you miss me? Or maybe you spent a hundred years trying to find and rescue my sister. Oh, wait... you did. Such a poor thing."
Damon took a step toward her, growling, but Klaus stood in front of Y/N, staring warningly at the young vampire. Y/N was smiling ominously, pleased with the black-haired vampire's surprised expression. She might as well play with him just a little bit after she returns to Katherine.
"I didn't think you'd be close to the originals. Especially, after what he had done to your family."
"And I didn't think that after what Katherine did to you and sweet Stefan, you'd fight for the love of her doppelgänger. See how ridiculous the world is, Dame?"
"You don't know what you're getting yourself into, Klaus. To be honest, I thought you were a little smarter than to fall for her, but I guess I was wrong."
"Watch your mouth, Salvatore! He is an original, a hybrid. You don't want to know what he is capable of." Y/N growled, stepping out from behind Klaus and facing the younger vampire herself.
"You're really worth each other." he spat and started walking away from them.
"And since you started talking about honesty, we're both on team Stelena!" she shouted after the man, smiling as she saw him tense with anger. She turned to the original, frowning as Klaus looked at her with a raised eyebrow and his own smug grin. "What?"
"Nothing. You saved me a few hours of dealing with this bunch of young vampires by scaring Damon off. Name your prize, love."
"I'll pretend you didn't just call me a bogeyman, and I'll say I want one thing from your great collection of antique jewelry."
"Just this?"
"Well, if you find me something really beautiful and shiny, I can call Katherine and tell her I'm not coming home tonight."
"Just tonight?" he teased with a smirk.
"We can negotiate it later."
"Good." he took her hand and kissed her forehead. "Let's get out of here. This party is dead anyway."
Wanna be yours Wanna be yours Wanna be yours Wanna be yours Wanna be yours Wanna be yours Wanna be yours
Klaus played with the ends of Y/N's hair as they lay in bed together. After a stressful week in which he and his siblings managed to escape Mikael's clutches, Petrova's unannounced visit was a pleasant surprise for him. But now that they both lay exhausted after... very satisfying activities, came the moment that Klaus hated the most.
Y/N was probably about to leave.
He hoped she would fall asleep in his arms, so he could steal a few more hours in her presence, but that didn't happen. She was lying partly on top of him, drawing patterns across his chest. Klaus buried his nose in her hair, enjoying her closeness while he still could.
"You're nothing like Mikael." she whispered, stopping the movements of the man who was now staring at her in shock.
"I beg your pardon?"
"I heard you arguing with Kol about it before… you know, you dagger him and put him in a coffin. I just want to make sure you know about it. You seemed so… pensive at first and a little bit sad. I thought it was because of this nonsense he said."
"What if it's true? If I'm really turning into him?" Y/N frowned, turning in his arms so that she was on her stomach and could look into his eyes as he continued to hold her.
"Well, he is not your real father, so I don't think you could inherit his psycho genes. Besides, if that were true, you'd kill me instead of fucking me so I could see the stars, so..." he chuckled, pulling her closer to him.
"You see the stars, huh?" he asked maliciously, with a smug smirk.
"Shut up. You know very well that you are extraordinary. I wouldn't come back to you if you weren't."
"And I wouldn't let you into that bed if you weren't just as tempting."
"I see what you're trying to do, but you really need to hear it, Nik. You're not a monster. You're just trying to keep your siblings safe. Maybe not in the best way, but you have good motives."
"You from all of the people should know that I'm not good. I'm pure evil, love. The monster parents tell their children about at night. I killed your family, Y/N... you shouldn't even be here."
"But I am. And I think we already talked about giving me orders or advice. I know what I am doing, Klaus. If I decide that you're worth my time, then you are. So shut up and let me finish." she kissed him, preventing him from trying to respond. Before Klaus demanded more of her, she pulled away from him, placing her index finger on his lips as he watched her in complete silence. "My parents were horrible, heartless people. And honestly? I'm glad they're dead. You are not a monster. You are Niklaus Mikaelson, a hybrid, loving brother who will do anything to protect your family from a father who abused you physically and mentally your whole childhood. You may not always make the right decisions, but none of us is perfect. And I regret some things in my life, but I will never regret meeting you. Not a single second have we spent together. Because I think you're someone worth knowing. Even if you don't agree with me."
Klaus stared blankly at her. It was the first time someone ever saw him for more than his murderous, dangerous side. His heart started to beat faster, and he prayed for all the gods that exist to prevent her from hearing it. Instead of letting himself take off his mask for the first time since he had become a vampire, he decided to cover up his real feelings, so that Y/N wouldn't know that his soft side for her wasn't only out of desire... but also something he couldn't admit to himself right then.
"Don't pity me." he growled, throwing her off him and walking over to the window.
"That's not a pity. You know I wouldn't tell it to you if I didn't think so." Klaus spun around furiously, trying his best to camouflage his fear with anger.
"And what else did you read from my personality? You're doing pretty well so far, considering we're just fucking in corners under the cover of night." Y/N stood up too, not hesitating to face the hybrid for a moment.
"This attempt to make me angry will do nothing. You try to push me away before I go too far, but it's too late. I know you, Klaus, and I know what you're most afraid of."
"And what is it?"
"Loneliness." Klaus froze in place, watching her with not even the slightest emotion on his face. "You don't want to be alone, which is why you gather so many people around you. Though you never let anyone get close enough to know your real self. But you know, you'll never get over that feeling if you don't let anyone in. Or if you keep locking your siblings in boxes or coercing others into obedience. It's... a beautiful, wonderful city, but how many people are really willing to follow you of their own free will? You may be king, but ruling vampires, werewolves, and witches with fear will accomplish nothing."
Klaus stood silently, watching her intently. Y/N shook her head in disappointment as she turned away from him and began to gather her belongings scattered around the room.
As she was about to put on her dress, Klaus ran over to her and gently grabbed her arm, turning her to face him. She raised an eyebrow questioningly.
"Stay." she snorted, shaking her head with a bitter laugh as she brushed his hand off her. But Klaus didn't give up. He cupped both of her cheeks, forcing her to look into his eyes. It was the first time he had looked at someone with such pure desperation. "Please."
Her defensive posture dropped. The dress fell from her hands as she grabbed his hand and pulled him back to the bed. Without a word, she clung to him again as they tried to fall asleep.
They both took a risk today by showing each other their other faces, which they had never shown to anyone else except their families. They saw the lost, struggling in their darkness, people who needed the closeness of each other.
They both let themselves sink into their own dreams, where they loved each other unconditionally. But then both of them were too scared, distrustful, and hurt by fate to fully trust the other one.
But this time, Y/N stayed with him until he woke up. And Klaus, for the first time in his 1000 years of life, felt hope.
I wanna be your vacuum cleaner Breathing in your dust I wanna be your Ford Cortina I will never rust
Y/N has never been more scared in her entire life. She ran as fast as she could to Mystic Falls High School, hoping Katherine had either won the duel with Elena or had come to her senses and fled as soon as she realized the younger vampire had the cure.
She had no plan, no emergency escape, and no secret weapon. She had nothing. But she knew she had to help Katherine, even if she had to turn human herself in the process of rescuing her sister. She was all Y/N had left in this world. And she knew well that Katerina would do the same for her. Even if people didn't believe in her.
She ran into one of the corridors, following the sounds of the fight.
Her heart was beating wildly as she pushed Elena against the far wall, glancing out of the corner of her eye at the unconscious brunette on the floor. She breathed a momentary sigh of relief when she saw that Elena was still holding a cure in her hand.
"It ends here. Katherine will recover soon. You can't beat us both."
"I got along quite well with Katherine. I doubt you'd be a stronger opponent."
"Then you're dumber than I thought."
Elena lunged at her, trying to break her neck, but Y/N dodged, scanning her surroundings for any weapons. But Gilbert didn't give her enough time to think. She kept attacking the older vampire, inflicting small, meaningless injuries on each other. Y/N had to think of something, and fast, before Elena somehow got the upper hand on her.
The younger Petrova stumbled as Elena pushed her against the opposite wall. She groaned as blood began to run down her hair and down her spine. As soon as Gilbert got closer to her, she swung, causing the brunette to fall next to her on the floor.
They struggled for a while until the younger vampire bit into her neck, startling her. Both immediately plunged their free hands into the other's chest, holding each other's hearts tightly.
From Elena's determined look, Y/N knew she wouldn't be happy with a tie. One or both of them will end up with their hearts ripped out. There was no other way.
"Let her go! Or your dear Damon will die with her!" Klaus' voice coming from behind her made her heart beat even faster in Elena's strong grip.
How the hell did he get here?! After that fight at his house and their goodbyes, he was supposed to be in New Orleans rebuilding his relationship with siblings and his kingdom, not in Mystic Falls saving my ass as usual.
"How do I know he'll survive if I let her go?"
"You have my word, Elena." Elijah came out from the other end of the corridor.
Seeing my sister's ex made me both happy and murderous at the same time. Although... maybe he still cared about her, since he'd come to his noble ass here to save her.
"Be careful, doppelgänger; I'm holding your heart too. Don't forget that." she reminded her, clutching Elena's heart tighter, and she moaned in pain.
"Y/N." Klaus' warning snarl got no reaction from her. She stared defiantly at the doppelgänger.
"I told you. It ends here, Elena. Nobody has to die. Just let it go." her gentle tone of voice weakened the vigilance of the brunette kneeling in front of her. Y/N took advantage of this and, at the speed of light, loosened the doppelgänger's grip on her heart and ripped her hand from her chest with a scream. She also let go of her heart and shoved the medicine down her throat, pushing her to the floor.
Klaus was at her side immediately, taking her into his arms and watching the doppelgänger unconscious from the fall. He breathed a sigh of relief as he felt his vampire heart beating. A second too late, and it could have ended very differently. He pulled the living vampire closer to him, trying to chase away the dark thoughts.
"Niklaus!" her raised voice brought him back to the world. His brother stood beside them, holding the unconscious Katherine in his hands, watching him closely. He turned his gaze to the tired woman in his own arms. "Please get us out of here."
Klaus nodded, getting up with her and holding Y/N in a bridal style, close to his chest, so she could rest her head on him. Both originals left the school and went to their cars. Each of them finally took his girl home.
I just wanna be yours (Wanna be yours) I just wanna be yours (Wanna be yours) I just wanna be yours (Wanna be yours)
"Penny for your toughts." Klaus crept up behind her as she stared blankly at the streets of New Orleans. Involuntarily, he remembered how they had met here 100 years ago... and the night that made him realize how he really felt about her—the night she had stayed with him for the whole night and day for the first time.
She looked much better after resting in their mansion. Klaus could get used to having her so close to him, along with his entire family.
"I'm offended that you value them at a penny. But if you must know, I was thinking about you."
"Me? What a pleasure. And what you had in your smart brain, love?" he asked, glad he wasn't the only one of the two who thought of the other when they were apart.
"I've lost count of the amount of times you've been there for me and everyone you care about. But today you save someone who doesn't mean a thing to you. You could just take me out of there and let Elena shove the cure down my sister's throat without telling Elijah that she is in danger. But you didn't. You of all people saved Katherine's life, along with mine. Why?" Klaus avoided Y/N's scrutinizing gaze, pretending to be very interested in seeing the town below him.
"Leave it Y/N. I just did it. I wasn't thinking then. In hindsight, I should have made sure she turned into a human myself, and kill her. I still can do it, so for her own good, don't put any ideas in my head."
"Klaus. Just answer it."
"I did."
"Niklaus." he turned to her, meeting her expectant gaze. Klaus swallowed. He had dreamed of this moment so many times, even in the very place where they stood… but could he overcome the fear of rejection? Being alone again?
"I don't know if you're ready for the truth, love."
"Try me. Maybe you'll be surprised." Klaus sighed, looking away from her. Were they both ready to cross that safe line they had set so many years ago? He did not know. But he figured he'd never find a better time…
"I saved Katherine because you wished it... Because what's important to you is important to me. What makes you laugh makes me want to keep it. What scares you I want to tear apart. You are the most important thing to me. I can't spend a single day, sleep, eat, or do anything without thinking about you deeply in my head. You own me. Body, mind, and soul. I've been yours since the day I met you. And I'll always wanna be only yours, even if you don't want me at all."
Klaus plucked up the courage to bring his gaze back to her face. She was expressionless. Totally poker. He felt a cold shiver run through his body, and the pain of rejection paralyzed him so much that he was unable to make any move. The hybrid cleared his throat, controlling the trembling in his voice and the coming tears.
"You can run away now. I won't chase you, Y/N."
Those words brought her out of her trance. However, Klaus kept his head down, not wanting to see the love of his life walk away from him.
If he hadn't, he would have known the love and emotion on her face.
Y/N walked over to him, shocking him to feel her gentle hands on his cheeks and stunning him as she pressed her lips to his in a tender, soft kiss.
They couldn't get away from each other. They clung to each other as if they were the only anchor holding them in this world, embracing and kissing so hard that neither of them could mistake this moment for a dream.
It was only the lack of air that forced them to move away from each other significantly, resting their foreheads against each other as they inhaled the familiar, calming scent of their second halves.
"I'm tired of running." Y/N whispered, planting kisses across his face, teasing him as she deliberately avoided his seeking lips. "And I never want you to let me go. Ever. You stuck out with me, my lord."
"As you do with me, my queen."
"Good." she smiled, drawing him into another of their many kisses as she led him to his bedroom.
She stayed with him that night. And the next, and the next one. And she never left his side again.
He was hers. She was his. They belong to each other.
And Klaus was in heaven.

One thing I think is so interesting in Pathologic is the relationship between Capella and Clara and how Capella's opinion on Clara changes drastically depending on which route you play.
In the Bachelor's route, the only time she really talks about Clara (I think, apologies if I'm wrong. I think the only other times she mentions her is in spoken dialogue) when playing as Daniil is on day 11 when you can ask her who Katerina's successor is. She tells him that at first, she believed that Clara was the Plague, but now is convinced that she is a miracle worker. (And then she says that a saint can't be a Mistress, which is another cool detail I'll probably rant about someday) It's unclear what happened to make her change her mind, though.
In the Haruspex route, she hates Clara. When you talk to her on day 8, she accuses Clara of turning the children against her and that she's made of lies and only destroys things. In one of her voiced lines, she calls her a vile creature, and in another, she says that Aglaya was in the right when she "announced that Clara was cursed and banished her." She sees her and Clara as opposites, with her representing good and Clara representing evil.
During the Changeling's route, they're a lot more friendly with each other than they are in the other routes. Capella tells her that sometimes she feels like Clara is the nicest person in the world, but other times she feels as though they are enemies and that being around her feels oppressive (though a bunch of other characters say similar things to her so that's probably a product of her powers and her sister) and Clara decides to do something for her to show that she can trust her. During the game, they go to each other for help. It's revealed that Capella is the one who asked Clara to make sure everything is fine with the Cathedral, and even though that ended horribly, when you talk to her on day 7, she still seems to trust Clara.
Both Clara and Capella are some of my favorite characters and I hope their relationship is explored more in the future patho 2 routes!
#sorry if this feels a bit jumbled im not good at organizing my thoughts lol#also i think its a really cool detail how the spoken dialogue changes slightly depending on who you're playing as#pathologic#pathologic classic hd#clara saburova#the changeling#the devotress#pathologic rambles#мор. утопия#capella olgimskaya#capella pathologic

Fueled Desires
Happy Day 2 of Klonnie Week/Weekend! This one is set in Bulgaria way back then with a human Katherine. For this AU, Klaus recruits Bonnie as a spy and feelings arise. Let me know what you think.
It was desperation. That was why she took this job. Her childhood was hard. Bonnie has no mother for she had died in childbirth. The only family she had was her father. He tried his best to raise her all by himself while working to put food on the table. Luckily for him, Bonnie was an easy child. She didn't seek out any trouble. She just had a curious mind. She was always seeking answers.
Without her mother, Bonnie lacked the magical knowledge to truly blossom as a witch. However, the girl was determined. All she had was her mother's grimoire and she memorized spell after spell. In her magical studies, she discovered her passion for plants. It was unfortunate that her passion was useless when her father fell ill.
Bonnie knew magic could do anything. It had to fix this. Her mother's grimoire did not have the spell she needed to aid her father. It was then that the Original appeared to her in the family garden. Klaus Mikaelson offered her a deal. If she served him, then she would be given access to his magical library and extensive knowledge on healing with witchcraft. Bonnie jumped at the chance.
The petite young lady did not anticipate how he intended to make use of her. She wasn't in the kitchen or waiting on his hand and foot. No, he needed her to be a spy and monitor some silly girl. She never expected her relationship with the Original. She thought she would fear him. She does not. She thought she would hate him. She does not. She thought she would find him disgusting. She does not.
In fact, Klaus was appealing even with blood around his mouth. The truth sickened her. She didn't bother knocking at the door to his room or announcing herself. “You requested my presence?”
Klaus acknowledged her with a nod as he sat on the edge of his bed. “Yes, please sit.”
Bonnie moved towards him and sat beside him with space between to keep their knees from touching. She kept her face blank as she asked, “may I inquire about the purpose of this meeting?”
“I need you to give me a report,” Klaus said.
“Regarding what?”
“I need you to provide details on Katerina's behavior and whereabouts.”
It took everything in Bonnie not to react. She could sense his deception and worried about his true motives for calling her to his room. “We already discussed the subject this morning.”
“You are correct.” His eyes lingered on her body while Klaus memorized her soft curves. “I just wanted an excuse to invite you to my bedroom.”
Bonnie sighed in response. “I am not like the other servants.”
“You are not. That is why I like you.”
“I do not believe you. You may not use me for your dark fantasies.”
“I want you by my side, that is my true desire.”
“You lie to me!” Bonnie exclaimed with irritation. Klaus had been persistent in his pursuit of her since her employment began. She had never taken his words seriously, but she could not ignore the goosebumps tingling on her skin when he was near.
“Trust my word. Are we not partners?”
“No, we are not,” Bonnie remarked. “We work together for your benefit. I work for you to provide for my sick father.” They do not share the same goal and their power dynamic as employer/employee made it clear to Bonnie that they were not equals as you should be in a partnership.
Klaus moved closer to Bonnie and grabbed her hand. “I have given you everything that you ask for, even spell books for healing potions.”
“You treat me like a dirty secret you are ashamed of.” Stolen kisses didn't make a relationship in Bonnie’s mind, especially when the man will fuck almost any girl around. “I know of your previous dalliances with the girls of the streets.”
Klaus in frustration felt the urge to pull out his hair. Those girls were before Bonnie and meant absolutely nothing. “How can I prove that you are the only one I want as queen?”
“You can’t,” said Bonnie as she stood and took a step to leave. “Do not request me again unless necessary.”
Bonnie couldn’t leave quick enough with Klaus able to maneuver her body away from the door. Klaus pinned her body on his desk nearby. She wasn’t like the past witches he’s dealt with. Bonnie was courageous, understanding, accepting and loyal. Damn, the business arrangement!
Klaus lust for Bonnie grew brutal by the day. Ready to explode. Bonnie kissed him with thirst, savoring the taste of his lips on her own. She was weeping between her legs. This intimacy was wrong, but felt so right. She had heard the whispers of other servants about his sexual prowess. Bonnie secretly longed to experience his skills. An airy moan freed itself from her lips as she was pulled from her thoughts.
“Would you like me to stop?”
“No,” Bonnie replied quickly as Klaus' hands traveled up her gown.
The knock at the door ruined it all.

Back to your dom/sub tierlist for a bit. Which of the doms and switches on your list would prefer an obedient sub and which would prefer a bratty one?
I personally feel like Andrey would definitely go for a bratty, feisty sub, as would Bad Grief when he's domming. They both seem like they'd be into someone who's a free spirit. When Grief moves into the Cathedral and you don't get rid of Barley, he says, "There's some undeniable freedom inside you." Idk, I keep thinking about that.
Also, something tells me Daniil and Mark might have fun with a brat? Georgiy might get something out of putting them in their place, but I don't know if he'd like it, necessarily.
Everyone else, though, I think would prefer an obedient sub. They're too serious. This is perhaps influenced by the tragic absence of brat bones in my body 😔 I'd love to hear your thoughts even if they're different from mine!
🐿️ anon
Those are really good ideas omfg we are on the same wavelength
All the Kains claim they want an obedient bottom but really, they want a brat to break and wear down until they obey their every word.
Not all the characters hold the same intentions for the type of reader they want. For example, Aglaya would try to get you to obey her every word and follow her rules while Mark Immortell thrives on tricking you and making you accidentally break the rules. Aspity wants you to have blind trust and faith in her while being completely unhinged.
Or the spoiled Reader. Victor would be still try to show he's in control, while someone like Rubin would steal the moon from the sky for you and be at your beck and call for every need. Lara is more authoritarian while Artemy is more sentimental in bed.
The enthusiastic category refers to a bottom reader who makes their partner know how much they want them, how much they're enjoying this and absolutely smitten with their partner.
Dom or top Characters there would be down bad for a reader who showers them in compliments and drowns them in love.
Yulia would absolutely melt from the affection.
While someone like Eva would match your energy and return it tenfolds.
General Block would find your enthusiasm refreshing, especially since he has no use for coyness or shyness. He wants someone direct and as honest about wanting him as he is about them.
Anna thrives under attention and praise, stroking her ego is the best way to ensure she has a great time in bed. She doubles her efforts to impress you and show off her flexibility.
With brat Reader, someone like Maria would get an absolute thrill from breaking you down.
While someone like Georgiy would gradually wear you down and make you concede on your own.
Andrey would take you up on your big talk and all bark no bite, then ask why you're quiet all of the sudden, huh? He earned his arrogance and the right to be confident because he knows he can follow up with his promises.
With Daniil, it's like having a brat off? He'd love an obedient reader just as much ngl, but I had to make him pick a side. He claims he can handle a brat, but absolutely cannot in reality and end up getting his ego hurt when he can't get you to obey him. Dankovsky can only tame the softest of brats.
The powerbottom category is super fitting.
Someone like Oyun would willingly give up power and let you pull him around by the horns and take the lead.
While Katerina would pretend to put up a fight for power and lose at the last minute.
Peter is there because it's less work to do for him during sex, he's– Well he isn't the most attentive partner, you'll do most of the work.
Young Vlad actually wants to be overpowered. He would piss you off deliberately just to have you ride his face out of spite.
-
Isidor is... well... Listen. All of us thought about being sandwiched between Isidor and Simon at least once, right? That is a very normal and common thought that everyone in the pathologic fandom has at least once...right???
He'd want you to obey, that man has very little control about the things around him; his bedroom won't be one of them.
Simon is a little fucking shit I tell you. He'd walk on you and Isidor doing the deed all unbothered just to have a conversation with him then leave without sparing you at glance, at other times he's very attentive in bed and lets you be freely without rules or anything.

At last….I have Katerina thoughts……That is. There is consistent reference to the dichotomy of good/evil in Katerina’s character, in her words, how others speak of her, and her narrative position as arbiter between Nina and Victoria. Her character concept states that Katerina previously “served as independent arbiter to opposition of the two Mistresses,” and likewise Lara’s portrait quote: “Who could survive between Nina’s rock and Victoria’s hard place? That’s how the town worked back then—upon this rock Nina was forging it, while Victoria maintained a firm stance to keep it in check; Katerina was the one to ensure the balance was in place.” Katerina’s prior position appears in her philosophy in-game, where she tells Clara that three ends are possible and that while Simon generally bound Utopians and Termites, “I insist that he’s built the town as a triangle… and so I declare loyalty to the third idea—the faith of Humility! I am their Mistress. There’s neither heat nor cold anymore; there is only Earth…” Katerina again identifies herself in between dichotomies, in Town philosophy and earth as opposed to heat and cold.
I think this connection to good/evil per se first appears in the Bachelor Route, when Katerina tells Daniil “Any conflict that has two sides inevitably turns into a battle of good and evil” and the infamous question she poses to him: “Do you favour good or evil?” Altogether a little precursor to a later delicious dialogue between Katerina and Clara:
Katerina Saburova: A period of your antagonism with Maria is beginning. Along what lines will it be? Which of you will be the good one, and which one wicked? Will it be up to the Kains once again to determine the meaning of good and evil? How are you to take the good path if Maria doesn't choose the evil one...? Changeling: Why divide everything into good and evil right away? Could that have been your mistake? Our mistake... Katerina Saburova: That was what I thought—when I chose my own dark path... I thought the conflict was not between good and evil, that neither good nor evil existed... That wasn't true! For it is in the nature of humans to translate even a dichotomy of red and green into the language of good battling evil. We are doomed to make choices... Changeling: But did you really choose evil? Katerina Saburova: I now think I did... Nina could control it at the time... and I couldn't. Nor was Nina wearing the black tiara... But don't put your trust in what is more alluring, more attractive! That is usually where evil lies!
To properly analyze this I want to first discuss how Andrey and Lara characterize Katerina’s failed attempt to emulate either Victoria or Nina. Andrey claims, “As the Mistresses were dying, Katerina was throwing herself hither and thither, unable to choose a role; she tried to be Nina and she tried to be Victoria, but neither light nor darkness have worked out for her—she sucks at both.” Lara echoes this claim: “When Victoria died, Katerina rushed to take her place—she was quite afraid of playing games with Mother Darkness by then. The last of the Mistresses was struggling and throwing herself from one extreme to another.” Both dialogues emphasize Katerina’s inability to adhere to either part of the dichotomy, yet other dialogues suggest Katerina favored darkness. Maria claims Katerina “always found evil attractive,” and Lara states that after Nina’s death, “Katerina, who had been inclined towards Darkness before, became the Black Mistress…” The latter of course reinforces Katerina’s response to Clara that she chose evil, but I think Lara/Aspity’s portrait quotes and her character concept again complicate this and. Might I add. Make it far more devastating.
Aspity describes Katerina as “A queen turned witch. That’s what you get for dabbling with the spirits of the night. After Nina died, Katerina shamelessly rushed to take the place of the Dark Mistress; the burden of caring for the town was Victoria’s […] She got carried away though…” Aspity implies that Katerina became the Dark Mistress only because Victoria was still alive—because there were only two Mistresses, and Victoria was “good,” Katerina must be “evil;” this idea appears again in Katerina asking how Clara can take the good path “if Maria doesn’t choose the evil one.” This makes me wonder: was Katerina truly drawn to Darkness or was she just led to it by virtue of being half of a dichotomy? Her character concept states that Katerina “heartily replaced the infernal Nina. After Victoria’s death, she was left on her own and rushed to become the white Mistress, but it was too late. The evil seeds grew strong roots in her soul.” Which could imply that she *did* favor evil, or suggests her desire to be a proper Mistress (more on that momentarily). The last sentence parallels Aspity’s assertion that Katerina “got carried away” and perhaps Katerina’s own claim that she could not control “evil” as Nina could or Lara saying that Katerina was “afraid of playing games with Mother Darkness” by the time Victoria died.
To me, it feels less like Katerina was always drawn to evil—maybe she was, but the way these quotes describe her, it feels more as though she had to choose evil and was subsumed by it through no fault of her own. The main culprit instead being, of course, the Rat Prophet. The character concept reads: “[Katerina’s] game with the poltergeist called the Rat Prophet, who appeared to her as both her inner voice and a character of prophetic dreams, went too far. The poor woman who wanted to become a Mistress so badly was deceived.” Which contextualizes a line of Katerina’s which obliterates me: “There is nothing to tell. Everything is clear. I never had the power. I am not a true Mistress. I lied… but not for gain. Merely because I wanted so much to be like them. No… wishing for a miracle is not enough to become a miracle-worker…” AGH that last line makes me goddamn throw up blood !!!!! Even more so how her character concept concludes ??? “The Rat Prophet indoctrinated her with the idea that the Town’s demise is inevitable and fighting it would be as pointless as resisting the coming of winter.” TRAGEDY !!!!!!!!

I’ve been thinking about this for a while, but what do you think about Elijah’s reaction to learning that Katherine killed Jeremy? I know a lot people thought that it was odd because Jeremy had just played a part in killing Kol a few episodes before, but I feel like he was more so disappointed in the fact that Katherine hadn’t actually changed.
His reaction had nothing to do with who she killed and more to do with who she had become.
We don't really get to see how Katherine and Elijah ended up together, but we can see that Elijah is clinging onto the Katerina he lost all of those years ago. I also headcanon he was really hanging onto the memory of Tatia. He was trying to save Katherine and then Elena, the way he failed to save Tatia.
Elijah failed to save Katherine from Klaus and it destroyed her, turning her into a selfish, manipulative person that he didn't know. I assume when they got together, he saw hints of the "Katerina" he remembered which is why he was willing to give her a chance.
Elena: "She's a monster now, Elijah. The sweet peasant girl you fell in love with way back when is dead. And she's not coming back." Elijah: "I'm not a fool, Elena. Of course this possibility occurred to me, but what kind of man would I be if I didn't try to find my Katerina beneath this Katherine façade?"
But as Elijah said, he's not a fool. You know what they say, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." At this point, Elijah was willing to believe Katherine, deep down, had a good heart. But watching her do to Elena what Klaus had done to her showed him that the girl he once knew was truly gone. He wasn't willing to give her another chance to make a fool of him.
He felt betrayed because she had lied to him. It wasn't just that she had killed, he can justify that, but the fact that she was lying about it. She was playing him the same way she had played everyone. It would have been completely different if she had told him her plan ahead of time or even right when she came back. But she didn't trust him with her plan and it just reinforced that he didn't really trust her.
Elijah is also able to put logic over emotions. Yes, he was likely angry about Kol's death (although the show didn't spend anytime showing the Mikaelsons actually have reactions to it) he knew starting a war in Mystic Falls wasn't going to solve anything. This is where plot armor comes in because no way would any of these baby vamps and humans have actually walked away after killing Kol and Finn. They all would have been dead before they had the chance to blink, but then TVD would be over. So, instead the plot demands the Mikaelsons to move past it.
It also wouldn't be the first time Elijah has moved on after someone killed one of his loved ones *cough* Klaus *cough*
TVD Elijah was also a lot more practical. He killed very strategically. Similar to TO Season 3, when Hayley is killing Strix members to avenge Jackson, he is not mad at her for killing but shocked that she is doing it so messily, nearly starting a war. He then goes and dispatches them all with a plan. Katherine here didn't let him in on the plan, and we know how much he hates when Klaus does that. I think he saw a lot of Klaus in Katherine in that moment, and lord knows he doesn't need another one.
If Katherine had come back and told him she killed Jeremy because of what Jeremy did to Kol, he would have been fine with it. He would have felt bad for Elena, but at the end of the day, it's not anything different than what Elijah's done for family. Or what the MF gang has done. Again, his issue wasn't about the murder or about Jeremy. It was about the lying that stemmed from a lack of trust. He knew she was still killing people. He wasn't that naïve. He just had hoped she had some line she wouldn't cross. Hoping she had compassion for her ancestor. Hoping that she trusted him enough to protect her.
It's similar to when Celeste comes back in TO Season 1. There's a brief moment of time while he's following her on a tour of New Orleans and he knows it's her, he's willing to give her a chance to explain. He kisses her back and looks so desperate. But then she betrays him (yes, well deserved) and that was the only chance he gave her. Even at the end, when she pleaded with him, he was not going to give her another chance.
Katherine had one chance to show she wasn't the person everyone said she was and without hesitating she did exactly what was expected from her. She wanted the cure to trade for her freedom and there was nothing she wouldn't have done for it. She didn't trust that Elijah would protect her from Klaus (probably wisely) and she didn't trust Elijah with her plans. Without trust, they didn't have much left to fight for in a relationship.
I talk about their relationship more here.
Thanks for the ask!

Never To Plan *Part 2*
Niklaus Mikaelson!Father X Son!Reader Malachai Parker X Male!Friend!Reader (platonic)
Word Count: 1620
Requested: @emaz-0225
Request: Hello I hope your doing well can you do a part two to Never to Plan where Katherine comes to New Orleans and finds Hayley and Elijah and tells them that her and Klaus son has turned off his emotions and they need to help him so they go to Klaus and they work with Freya and Vincent and Kol and Finn to get Dahila out of Y/N life and to get his Emotions back on but they get rid of Dahila but it doesn't work and then Stefan comes to town and tells them that Damon is with Elena but then Kai comes to town and helps fix Y/N and they go to England 🇬🇧 for a while
*Part 1*
Katherine had caught the tail end of your interaction with Damon and Elena, she’d seen the look in your eye and while she had every intention of making them pay for what they had done to you, saving you was first priority. The only way that she could do that was to get the help of your father and his family, they were the only ones strong enough to get rid of Dahlia and free you from her control. Katherine made a quick decision and headed to New Orleans, she found Elijah first, he seemed like the one most likely to give her the time to explain everything.
“Katerina what are you doing in New Orleans, you know if Niklaus finds you here he will not hesitate to kill you.” Elijah reminded her. “Yes I’m aware but I thought you would want to know that (Y/N) is in trouble.” Kathrine answered. “A woman seems to be controlling his every move, after finding out about Damon and Elena he turned off his emotions, he’s in a bad place with a bad person we all know how dangerous that can be.” “Who was he with?” Elijah asked. “No one that I know, an older lady with dark hair, she was a witch.” Katherine listed. “Dahlia.” Elijah muttered “we knew that she had backed off but we should have known that it had something to do with (Y/N)’s disappearance.” Elijah said as he looked at Hayley. “The reason that she’s stopped going after Hope is because he took her place instead.” “We’re just supposed to trust her, what if it’s a trap?” Hayley asked. “Even if it were a trap, Dahlia wouldn’t know to use Katherine unless she had been in contact with (Y/N) in some way, so we have to assume that part if not the whole story is true and there is one person that can confirm part of it for us.” Elijah explained. “Though we will need Klaus for that.”
After explaining everything to Klaus, Elijah convinced him to call Caroline “Caroline, love I need to ask you something.” Klaus said. “What do you want Klaus?” She asked. “Elena and Damon are they together now?” Klaus asked. “What does it matter to you?” Caroline asked. “Answer the question love, lives are on the line.” Klaus prompted her as his free hand curled into a fist. “Yes they’ve been together for a little while.” Caroline answered. “He didn’t even bother to break up with my son. I take it?” Klaus asked. “I don’t know.” Caroline seemed to be thinking about something “but I’m sure that he was here in town a few days ago, so surely he knows by now.” “He does… And he’s probably become one of the most dangerous beings because of that information, thank you love, we’ll take it from here.” Klaus said before hanging up the phone. “She’s telling the truth, lucky for you we were devising a plan to get rid of Dahlia long before you showed up here, getting my son back is now the main priority.”
You honestly hadn’t expected that your family would be able to get rid of Dahlia but with the help of you grandmother they managed, however being back with your family didn’t make you feel any better, you didn’t feel any closer to wanting to turn on your emotions, even with all of them around you. Your mind travelled back to Elena and Damon and how you have given up everything to be with him and he so easily chose someone else. You should have known that it was going to happen but it still hurt.
Klaus had noticed that you weren’t changing, not that you were hurting any of them, you were careful with your little sister and stayed clear of the rest of the family barely interacting with any of them. He was sure that if he put you back in Mystic Falls the blood lust would spark, considering you seemed to travel out of New Orleans almost every night to hunt down someone to claim as a meal, Klaus was running out of ideas to help you and he voiced that to his siblings. “Well there’s one other person that might be able to help but I don’t know how we would find him.” Katherine said. “What?” Klaus asked. “Malachai Parker, he was friends with him before his family sealed him away, in fact that was what (Y/N) had originally gone to Mystic Falls to look into.” Katherine answered. “And?” Klaus asked. “Well as far as I know he’s still imprisoned somewhere but I don’t know where.” Katherine answered. “I guess you could start with the Parker Coven, they were the ones that sealed him, if I remember right there was a doctor in Mystic Falls that might know something her name’s Jo.” “That’s as good a start as any, shall we go brother?” Elijah asked “I’m sure our dear sister can hold the fort for you while we’re gone.” “As long as she does invite in every pretty face the propositions her.” Klaus smirked. “Now now, brother, no need to be cruel.” Rebekah crossed her arms over her chest “I’ll keep the place safe while you are gone.”
When Klaus and Elijah arrived in Mystic Falls it was evening, the town seemed somehow quiet and excited all at the same time, it wasn’t hard for them to follow the smell of blood to the venue of a wedding, when they walked in Klaus was quick to stop Damon from beheading the man in the middle of the carnage, covered in blood. “Damon, how nice to see you.” Klaus smirked as he pushed him away from Kai. “What are you doing?” Damon asked. “We’ll be taking him.” Klaus said. “What do you want with him?” Damon asked. “He’s going to help fix someone that you broke.” Klaus answered as he turned to see Elijah snapping Kai’s neck and lifting him over his shoulder. “Time to go brother.” Elijah announced.
They were driving back when Kai woke “who the hell are you?” Kai asked. “We are the original vampire family.” Klaus answered. “So you know (Y/N)?” Kai asked “he mentioned something about being a part of that family.” “Yes, in fact (Y/N) is the one that needs your help, he’s gotten into some trouble and you are the only person left that has any chance of helping him.” Elijah explained. “(Y/N) fell in love with Damon and as you can see he moved on quickly.” “So quickly that he didn’t even end it.” Klaus muttered. “Well then the sleeping curse was well deserved.” Kai muttered. “So what happened with (Y/N)?” “He turned off his emotions, at the time he had just sacrificed his freedom to save his little sister so he thought that there was nothing else left, since he had failed to find you as well.” Elijah explained. “Ever the selfless creature, he slaughtered half of what was left of my coven after they sealed me, apparently threatening to take something that my sister actually needed to live.” Kai smirked as he leaned back in his seat. “Best friend I’ve ever had, I’ll bring him back the same way that he had for me so many times before.”
When they finally got back it was one of the rare occasions where you were out of your room, wandering around in the quiet halls, your eyes fell on Kai first filtering out everything else. “Mal?” You asked. “You know I still hate that name Fangs.” He muttered. “I still hate that one.” You argued. “From what I hear there is not a lot that you don’t hate these days.” He smirked as he stepped forward. “How did you get out?” You asked. “Stabbed a witch, performed a ceremony.” He answered with a shrug. “I tried to get you out.” You almost seemed like you were panicking now, good you were starting to feel something. “I know you did, my father told me about the massacre after I was sealed and how you tried to find a way to get me out, he spent more time hiding from you than anyone else.” Kai explained and you nodded. “Well it’s okay because we’re both here now and I’d really like my partner in crime back especially since they’re all going to be after me for linking Bonnie and Elena’s lives together.” He answered with a smirk. “What did you do?” You asked. “Elena will sleep for as long as Bonnie’s alive.” Kai answered. “I also promised to find a way to never leave you alone, you remember that?” You nodded “well now I’m just like you, well apart from the wolfy part.” “You're a vampire?” You asked. “Kind of, you know I was a siphoner before?” He asked, you nodded. “That means that I feed off the magic you get from being a vampire, so I can use magic like any other witch and I have the benefits of a vampire.” Before anyone could do anything you hand your arms wrapped around Kai as you pull him into a tight hug. “I can always count on you.” You said softly. “Now more than ever.” He promised. “I missed you.” You whispered softly. “I think I missed you too.” He confessed as the rest of your family breathed a sigh of relief, you were finally back to normal.
The next day you decided that you needed a break from everything that was going on, you and Kai hopped on the first flight to England, where you had been staying before with a promise to come and see your family again soon.
Requests and general question!

1. for the choose violence ask game?
I could pick any character in this series and write out a full essay about how someone somewhere interpreted them wrong. However most of them would be low hanging fruit, or out of date with the current vibes.
What HAS been bothering me is something specific that we all got wrong about Six. This scene:
At the end of the series, they're all going off in their own ways, they're all finding something else to do with their lives. They're all finding ways to keep doing work; Nine is teaching, John is rebuilding, Adam's decolonizing his culture, and Marina is doing…whatever we were supposed to interpret that as. So we look to Six, who's the second in command, the one with her head on straight, the one that's gung ho and go go go and battle ready, and she's….on vacation?
We were all so mad at Frey for this. You can scroll back on THIS BLOG and find where I was personally upset about it. How dare he! She'd never! She'd keep giving back no matter what!
I think we were wrong ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I reread Six's Legacy recently, and I was surprised by the gap between fanon’s interpretation of Katerina as a free loving battle mom and who she actually is.
She's soft. She pushes Six to do normal homework, to read textbooks and fairy tales, to play board games! She believes in meditation and building Six into a well rounded individual. She wanted her to know about earth and to /live/ on earth when it was all over. She was also a squishy af romantic who'd left her family behind
(Ouch)
Out of all of them, I think Six's Cepan had the highest hopes for her. And she's the one who's the most mentally sound out of all of them! She's the one who makes sound plans, who keeps her head most of the time, who falls in love with another mostly stable person and builds a life with him. (Cannot stress how healthy samix is compared to all the rest of that). When the war ends, the sane soldiers go home, make babies, and move on with their lives. And since half human/loric people are canon in the past, I think the concept of them building a family and a life together is fully in reach in her mind. She's spent her entire life having to go places out of necessity, having to run and run for years because settling wasn't possible for her. Now suddenly she has freedom and a traveling partner to go wherever she wants. There's special rocks that let them teleport without ever having to go through customs. I'd be eating lunch in spain and skinny dipping in the Tallahassee river every single fucking day, personally,
And it's not like she's sworn off using her skills forever! There's several points in legacies reborn where she steps in behind the scenes to move the plot along. The side novellas for the reborn series are ALL about the stupid shit Sam and Six are doing to clean up the government's poorly managed problems. She just doesn't personally trust the governments they were just fighting against to protect her or anyone she cares about, which I honestly think is the more sane conclusion. She's tired, she's RE-tired, and she's earned it.

Chapter Fifteen: Afterschool
The twins and Dario returned home without Domenico. Jason was out with Claudia, and Noemi was fast asleep, so Angelo was the only one awake to notice. “Kitty, where’s Dom?” Angelo asked. Katerina ran to her room, and Cecelia followed closely behind. Dario tried to run, and Angelo caught him. “Oh no, you don’t. Where’s Domonic?”
Dario frowned. “He’s at your school,” Dario whispered. Angelo set Dario down before slipping on a jacket and shoes. “Where are you going?”
“To get our brother. You stay here and wait for Papá. Don’t tell him where we went… No matter what, scricciolo. Can I trust you?” Angelo asked. Dario didn’t answer. “What am I saying? Dario, wash your hands and eat a popsicle.” Dario nodded and let Angelo leave. He ran down the street and past the gym until he reached his school.
Angelo stopped, leaning over and struggling for air while he looked for Domenico, and listened until he heard the sound of a struggle behind the gym. “Domenico—!” The older boy swung and hit Domenico in the nose, and Domenico staggered back, wiping the tears from his eyes.
“Go home!” Domenico shouted as he stood across from his opponent. The other boy stood nearly a foot taller than him. “Go home!” Domenico wiped the blood from his nose.
“Stop it! What are you trying to prove by fighting him?” Angelo screamed despite his hoarse voice. “Nico, don’t touch him! It’s me that you have a problem with!”
Nico tried to take advantage of Angelo’s presence to strike Domenico in the face with his fist. Domenico stumbled backward, and Angelo moved forward until Domenico shook his head. “Are you going to throw a punch, or what?” Nico asked. Domenico shook his head at Angelo, and in the same breath, he punched the boy as hard as he could in the stomach and throat, climbed up the gate, and jumped on his back. Domenico wrapped his legs around Nico’s neck until the older boy dropped.
“Dom, that’s enough!” Angelo screamed. Domenico got off Nico’s shoulders and punched him out. Angelo grabbed Domenico, who leaned on him for support. “Are you okay? Let’s get out of here.”
Angelo picked Domenico up and carried him to a bench near Giorgio’s. Angelo looked into Domenico’s eyes. “Are you alright?” Angelo questioned.
“Why do you care?” Domenico mumbled.
“Dom, I didn’t mean—. I did mean it, but I didn’t mean to hurt you when I said it—.”
“You did… And I do understand. You don’t think I get it?” Domenico snapped.
Angelo frowned. “Is that why you beat Nico up?” Angelo asked. Domenico shrugged as he wiped tears from his eyes. Angelo carried him home, and Jason swung the door open and took Domenico from Angelo.
“Dom! What happened to your face?” Jason asked as he sat on the couch. Angelo grabbed the first aid kit, shining a light in Domenico’s eyes. “What happened?”
“I got in a fight,” Domenico mumbled. He bowed his head.
Noemi gasped when she saw Domenico and held his face in her hands. “ My poor baby! What happened to you ?” Noemi asked.
“I got in a fight at Angelo’s school,” Domenico answered.
“With a—? Did you win?” Noemi asked.
“Mia amata!” Jason exclaimed. “Did you?” Domenico nodded.
Noemi smiled with sad eyes. “Who was it?” Noemi asked.
“Nico,” Domenico answered. Jason and Noemi exchanged glances before laughing. Angelo sat on the coffee table across from Domenico and cleaned his face.
“No more fighting kids twice your size. Okay? We’re gonna let this one slide,” Noemi replied. Jason nodded in agreeance.
“Nothing’s broken… I’ve never seen you move so fast. You’re gonna have to show me how to do that,” Angelo whispered. Domenico laughed before bursting into tears. Angelo hugged him. “Dom, you’re the best. I know I don’t tell you that enough. I’m sorry.” Jason and Noemi slipped away to let them talk.
Domenico sobbed as he held onto Angelo. “I wanted to hurt him because he hurt you,” Domenico cried, “I’m sorry. I just—. I want you to like me again.” He gasped in between sobs, and Angelo rubbed his back.
“I never stopped liking you. You’re my little brother. I wouldn’t be me without you… And now I owe you because I can tell everyone at school that Nico got beat up by a little kid,” Angelo chuckled. Domenico looked at Angelo with tears in his eyes and laughed. “You’re the best.” Angelo took the ice pack and held it to Domenico’s eye.
“My head hurts,” Domenico whispered.
“Mine too… Are you hungry?” Angelo asked. Domenico nodded. “papá brought home some melon gazpacho. I’ll make you a bowl.”
Domenico nodded. “I had to take those punches, so it’d look like a normal fight,” Domenico explained, “I want you to know I’d never let a guy like that beat me up. I don’t care how big he is.”
Angelo laughed. “You’re too smart for your own good. Are you sure you don’t want to go to school with me?” Angelo asked. Domenico laughed, shaking his head.
“Too much science. I’d be bored,” Domenico replied. Angelo stuck his tongue out at his brother. “Angelo?” Angelo took a ladle and spooned gazpacho into two bowls.
“When I get better, you can do your homework in my room like you used to,” Angelo whispered. Domenico smiled. Dario entered the living room with a popsicle and started crying once he saw Domenico’s face.
“Come here, topino,” Domenico whispered, reaching for Dario. He scooped his younger brother up and squeezed him. “I won.” Dario frowned as he kissed Domenico’s cheek. “How are you today?”
“Papá gave me an extra popsicle. I talked to a girl in my class. She made me a paper frog,” Dario whispered.
Domenico kissed his cheek. “Topino! I’m so proud of you! Tell big brother,” Domenico replied. Dario let Domenico hold his paper frog as he hopped off Domenico’s lap.
While Dario was distracted, Domenico crept to the twins’ room. “I lived,” Domenico joked. Cecelia crossed her arms.
“You’re going to get in trouble,” Cecelia muttered as she turned up her nose.
Katerina ran to him and punched his shoulder. “Oww! I used that flying triangle thing you taught me,” Domenico answered.
“Did you win?” Katerina asked.
“Kitty! Dom’s about to get in trouble, and that’s all you care about?” Cecelia questioned.
“Did you get enough momentum on your jump?” Katerina questioned. Domenico nodded.
“I won… And I didn’t get in trouble,” Domenico replied as he tapped Cecelia’s nose. “Don’t be mad at me.”
Jason knocked on the bedroom door. “Showers and homework,” Jason reminded softly. Cecelia high-fived Jason and took her pajamas to the bathroom. “Thank you, Sheils.”
“No problem, Papá,” Cecelia answered.
“And stop teaching your brother how to kill people. I hear everything,” Jason whispered before kissing her cheek. “Also, thank you for giving Claudia something to do today… And no more fights. They’ll start noticing that you kids can do more than just box.” Domenico nodded. “You okay?”
“Uh-huh…” Jason gestured with a tilt of his head for Domenico to follow him. They sat in Domenico and Dario’s room on the floor. Jason pulled at one of Domenico’s curls. “Papá, I’m okay—.”
“You don’t have to prove that you are who you are… Not to me… Not to anyone. Do you understand?” Jason asked.
“Yes, Papá… But—. Well, how will—? I don’t want to be different—.”
“You’re not. You look like me, fight like Katerina, act like Mamma… And you’re responsible like Angelo. If anyone knew you, they’d see that you’re the same as your siblings in all the ways that matter,” Jason whispered. He lifted Domenico’s chin with his knuckle and smiled. “Your brothers and sisters are crazy about you. Mamma and I adore you… You want a hug, don’t you?” Domenico nodded.
Jason pulled him into his arms and took a deep breath. “I love you, Papá,” Domenico whispered.
“You’re so much like me… It’s scary. Do you know that? I want you to be better than me, though,” Jason replied.
“I can’t do that—.”
“That’s where you’re wrong. You can do anything,” Jason smiled.

My (and your) tears ricochet
Pairing: Klaus Mikaelson x reader Summary: You and Klaus have a difficult relationship. For 500 years, you bond, break up, and get back together, being both your worst nightmares and your longed-for dreams. But after Lucien bites you and you die in Klaus' arms, the true feelings of your "lover" come out. And you're as delighted as devastated. Warning(s): angst, de@th, mourn, mentions of depression/mental breakdown, vampire violence, a bit of comfort at the end Word count: 5k+ Inspired by: "My tears ricochet" - Taylor Swift
We gather here, we line up, weepin' in a sunlit room
I never thought this would be my end. Killed by one of Klaus' many enemies because I rushed to save the love of my life. An Y/N from 200 years ago would have laughed in my face for my own stupidity.
To die for Klaus Mikaelson - the enemy of my family, the bane of my existence, and the only one I ever truly desired.
It would have been as improbable to my past self as the entire Mikaelson family mourning me with my sister Katherine by their side.
Yet I was here. In the spirit world, watching the original vampires and Kath line up in front of my coffin, they silently watched the sunlight illuminate my gray, lifeless face.
Maybe Klaus was supposed to be my undoing after all.
At least Katerina put me in a nice dress.
Even on my worst day, did I deserve, babe All the hell you gave me?
Involuntarily, I began to reminisce about the events leading up to my unexpected death, as I was looking at Klaus' stone, emotionless face.
"What? I betrayed you?! I should've seen that coming. After everything I do and sacrifice for you, you still can't trust me, can you? I'll never be your precious Camille."
"Don't bring her to this! I'll ask you just once more and for your own good, love, tell me the truth. Did you tell Aurora about her?!"
"No Klaus. I didn't tell your psychopathic ex that you were fucking your therapist. You have to find someone else to blame for her death."
"I didn't fuck with her."
"And I don't care."
I turned away from him to leave his studio, but the man grabbed my arm in a strong, aching grip, effectively stopping me. I turned to meet his furious gaze again.
"We're not finished."
"YES, WE ARE! I'm so done with being a toy you can throw out and take back whenever you want! I deserve something more than a hybrid who has an existential problem with himself and thousands of enemies on his back. I'm done with you and whatever is between us. You're not worthy of my time, and I'm so dumb to believe that you can feel something more than anger or a desire for power. Mikael was right about you. You're just a scared boy who is pushing everyone away from you because you're too afraid of being betrayed."
I burst out, fed up with his sick attitude. From the moment I arrived at his call, he treated me with fucking hostility and distance. After everything we've been through together, I didn't deserve to be treated like a traitor.
At least that's what I told myself to keep from falling apart, seeing the complete lack of love for me in his captivating eyes, which I loved as much as the day we first met.
"Calm down. I've killed people for lesser slander. You're lucky you're still breathing, love." he whispered, placing his hand on my neck and squeezing it lightly to remind me that he could end my life at any moment. Good thing I was never afraid of him.
"And you're lucky to still have someone by your side after hurting your whole family again and again. This killing of everyone out of fear that someone would dare lay hand on you is pathetic. And as you can see, it doesn't quite work well." I snarled, yanking my arm out of his grip and walking away from the even angrier man than before.
After all, the one that wins will be the one that hits the hardest. This was always our guiding principle whenever we argued and broke up for a couple of decades.
'Cause I loved you, I swear I loved you 'Til my dying day
"Are you leaving so soon, sister? You just came." Katherine asked as I ran down the stairs towards the exit of the mansion.
"Well, apparently my presence is not needed here. In the house of the great Klaus Mikaelson, there is no place for vile traitors and untrustworthy whores."
"You can not fool me! I know what you really think and feel. And I sympathize with you with all my heart. You're making the right choice, little sister. He is not worthy of your love."
"I didn't ask for your opinion." I growled, unable to bear what she was saying and knowing that it was true.
"You still love him... after everything he has done, after he pretended to be with this bartander and broke your heart..."
"Once again. I didn't ask about your opinion, Katerina." I interrupted her to hurry out of the house. If I had known then that this would be one of our last conversations…
And you're the hero flying around, saving face
"What the hell do you think you're doing?! Lucien is running around trying to get to my loved ones at all costs, and you're taking bloody walks around New Orleans?!" Klaus was yelling at me after he pushed me against the wall of one of the alleys.
"You just answered yourself. Lucien is after your loved ones, and I am not one of them."
"Stupid woman, can't you see how much you mean to me?!"
"You've shown me this for the last fucking weeks by flirting with Aurora and playing Camille's damn boyfriend!"
"I did it to protect you!"
"Not telling me anything, keeping me like a prisoner in your house, and treating me worse than an enemy - this is what you call a fucking protection?!"
"How else was I supposed to keep you from participating in a war that wasn't yours and keep you safe at the same time?!"
"It would be too easy to let me know your plans, wouldn't it?"
"Can't you understand that I can't let anything happen to you?! That losing you too will be the final nail in my coffin!"
Suddenly, a strange, disturbing feeling came over me.
"Klaus."
"No. Let me finally end this and tell what's should be told 500 houndreds bloody years ago." Completely unable to focus on Klaus' words, I glanced over to see what was going on behind him. Lucien pointed the pistol at him with a smirk. Whatever was loaded into the gun, it couldn't end well. "Y/N, I love…"
The shot drowned out what he wanted to say. In an instant, I switched places with him, taking a shot at myself. I gasped as I felt my cool blood begin to ooze from the newly formed wound. My gaze, however, stayed hard on Klaus' terrified eyes.
Lucien's venom.
"Y/N!" his scream managed to cut through my dazed body before I collapsed limply on top of him, sinking into the enticing, blissful darkness.
We gather stones, never knowing what they'll mean Some to throw, some to make a diamond ring
"I don't see a bit of sense in what we're doing." Klaus whined as we walked along the lakeshore. Every now and then I would stop to pick up a nicer pebble and put it in one of our pouches.
"Don't be grumpy, old man. Had you never done this when you were a child?"
"We had other activities. Hunting, learning to fight, mother being one of the more ambitious decided to teach us to read and write - looking at Elijah, one of her worst ideas. We had all kinds of holidays, but we never did something as stupid as collecting useless stones."
"My God, you're worse than Katerina. Shouldn't you, as an artist, see beauty even in something as simple as stone? Besides, what if we happen to come across a diamond thrown away by some rich aristocrat's angry mistress? I'm about to waste my chance at finding a ridiculously expensive gem just because you're particularly cranky today." I asked indignantly, pulling him closer to me and smirking as I waited for his response.
"Your overactive imagination worries me sometimes. Also, I'm capable of giving you your own diamond if you want." he replied, unconvinced, staring at me with feigned concern. Sparks of amusement shone in his mesmerizingly beautiful eyes.
"As far as I remember, my imagination didn't bother you last night. You actually complimented it a lot."
"I won't answer that, just because, apparently, I'm the only one in our humble company who cares about a little tact."
"Well… you weren't last night." I kissed him briefly and run away from him laughing.
"Come here, you little tempting, irritating thing!" he shouted, chasing after me with his own smirk.
He grabbed me, pulling my back to his chest. I started laughing even more as he started placing small kisses down my neck.
"I can give you every little diamond ring you want. Just say a word." he whispered in my ear, nuzzling my jaw with his nose.
You know I didn't want to have to haunt you But what a ghostly scene
Consciousness slowly began to return to my body. I felt like I was in a sea of verbena. Every little muscle burned with hellish pain.
I must have been in hell.
"Not yet, love. I won't let you get away from me that easily. You must fight." his voice instantly brought me back.
I struggled to open my eyes, hissing at the blinding sunlight. The man sitting by my bed rushed to the windows, covering them, before immediately returning to sit by my side. I felt a sudden pressure on my skull. I angrily pushed his hand away, severing the connection between us.
"Get out of my mind." I wheezed, wincing as I heard my hoarse voice. The hybrid, undaunted by my condition, moved closer to me and handed me a glass of blood from the bedside table.
"Make me, love. I dare you." he whispered as he watched me greedily drink the red liquid.
He helped me hold the glass in my hand, embracing it and stroking it tenderly with his thumb. Had it not been for the knowledge that I would die in a few hours, I might have found the whole scene romantic.
"You know that even if you throw me a thousand challenges, you won't keep me for long. I'm gonna die, Klaus. Like Finn and Cami."
"NO. I will not let you. I'll go to Lucien and snatch this damned cure from his throat."
"Klaus, I'm already dead. There is no need…" he cut me off, tangling his hand in my hair to pull me into a desperate, demanding, needy kiss.
I let the warmth of his lips touch me one last time, letting a soft moan escape my throat as the emotions I felt became too much for me to hide any longer. He grabbed my waist, pulling me to him so that I was sitting on his lap. We broke apart. I leaned my head against his forehead, staring into his tear-filled eyes.
"You can't leave me. Not like that."
"I guess I don't have much choice." I whispered in a trembling voice, stroking his cheek tenderly, trying to wipe the tears from his eyes. "Klaus? Earlier in this alley, before all this happened, You said you love me. I…" he didn't let me finish by pressing his lips against mine again.
"You can say you love me tomorrow. You won't die today, love." he kissed my forehead and left in such a hurry that I couldn't even try to talk him out of the stupid idea of chasing Lucien.
I could only hope he wouldn't do something stupid and share my fate.
You wear the same jewels that I gave you As you bury me
The funeral was not extraordinary or grand. By Mikaelson's standards, it was quite modest and therefore more personal. It was good to know they'd miss my presence, but I couldn't focus on anyone but Klaus.
He was strangely calm. Emotionless, expressionless. Like a dead sculpture. My concern for the vampire only increased when I saw the necklace (which I gave him for his 1,000th birthday) with the pendant of a wolf howling at the moon hanging proudly from his neck, gleaming in the sunlight. His blue eyes stared blankly at my coffin, which they were hiding in the crypt.
Somewhere in the distance, I could hear Katerina and Rebekah crying.
However, the one person I cared about and worried about ever since I left the world of the living spent the entire funeral in astonishing silence.
It was at that moment that I knew he wouldn't accept my departure so easily.
I smiled as I saw Elijah come over to comfort him afterward. My smile faded as the hybrid growled aggressively at him, shoved his brother away, and ran to a place only known to him.
It must have been harder for him than he dared show anyone.
"Please, let one of his siblings be able to get to him. Despite his best efforts to keep them at a distance."
And if I'm dead to you, why are you at the wake? Cursing my name, wishing I stayed Look at how my tears ricochet
If I thought the funeral was hard for Klaus, then the wake must be his true hell.
Most of the originals have recovered by now, sitting in their living room sipping drinks, recalling all the funny, sad, and crazy things that had to do with me.
I thought it would somehow ease his pain.
Katerina seemed a little cheerier as she talked about all the compromising situations that WERE SUPPOSED to go with me to the grave. But I couldn't really blame her. I would probably do the same in the reverse situation.
It was Kol who unwittingly unleashed the storm.
"Remember when Nik tried to propose to her in the 19th century, here in New Orleans?" my heart and the whole world around me stopped for a moment. Propose?
"What?! How?" my sister's surprised exclamation perfectly reflected my current state. I had no idea that idea could ever enter his head.
"He has had hundreds of attempts over the centuries, but at this time most of us thought he'd finally made it." a single tear escaped my eye as I lamented the future that would never happen. "I even spent all of my money from the safe in Chicago because Nik had planned to…"
The sound of shattering glass echoed through the room, silencing the original. Everyone's attention shifted to Klaus, who had shards of glass stuck in his hands. A trickle of blood began to form from his hand, staining the chair and the carpet beneath it.
"I have enough of this pathetic show." he snarled, brushing off the shards of glass as he walked away to his art studio. Rebekah and Elijah didn't give up so easily, catching up with him on the stairs.
"Is that how your life will look now? You'll growl at us every time we mention Y/…"
"DON'T EVEN DARE SAY HER NAME!" he burst out, running to his studio. Elijah gave his sister a knowing look and returned to the living room, letting her do her thing.
Rebekah and I followed the hybrid, finding him in the middle of the ruined room, weeping over one of my portraits that had miraculously survived the crash. The blonde kneeled, hugging her brother and combing his hair comfortingly.
"Oh, Nik. That pain will never go away if you don't accept…"
"I WILL NEVER ACCEPT THIS!" he wrenched himself free from her grip, wary of the painting. "And this damn witch knew it! She enchanted me the first time I saw her. She put a dark spell on me, so I never found any other woman even a little bit as attractive as her. She is my heart, my half soul, my happiness, my sadness, and my madness, and now… now she is gone. And will be my curse for the rest of my life, Rebekah. Nothing can change that, especially not passing time, because every second, every minute, every hour, and every day without her by my side is meaningless."
"But you two were apart before, and you never acted like that, Nik."
"It was easier to let her go knowing she was happy and safe rather than cold and dead in some bloody tomb."
"And what about Hope? Your daughter, remember? You must be strong for her."
"Maybe it would have been better if she had never known the wasted shell I became after SHE left."
The blast of air (and all that mess) was all he left behind. Rebekah hesitantly reached for my portrait, staring at it with tears in her eyes.
However, it may not be so easy to let me go for all of them.
And I can go anywhere I want Anywhere I want, just not home
"You just beat yourself up more. By the way, he himself too." Cami's voice came from behind me. I turned to face her, leaving the hybrid alone with my crypt for a moment.
"I thought it was healthy to grieve a little over someone's death."
"Yes, but what you two are doing is obsessive and bordering on pre-depressive. You must let him go. And he you. Holding on to him will get you nowhere. If you don't want peace yet, you might as well travel to other places. You can go anywhere you want."
"Anywhere I want, just not home." I muttered bitterly, looking at the hybrid sitting across from my grave and sipping a bottle of bourbon.
"I don't think I can do anything here. Just remember you have a choice, okay?"
"You're going to find peace?"
"Yes, and don't make me wait there alone for long. Watching them won't help you. I'm so sorry, Y/N." she gave me one last comforting, sad smile and turned to leave.
"Good luck, Camille!" I called after her and turned on my way, approaching Klaus again.
"For you too. I hope you'll find your peace." I heard before the blonde was gone for good.
"I already did." I murmured, grabbing Klaus' hand, enjoying the slim chance of being close to him. At the very least, I could fool myself into thinking I was still with him.
Because the truth was that I would never find my peace without him.
And you can aim for my heart, go for blood But you would still miss me in your bones
Klaus had slept for a week and stayed only in my bedroom, occasionally popping up to visit my grave. With a heavy heart, I laid down next to him on my bed, watching him sleep peacefully, hugging my pillow, and inhaling my scent left on it.
Involuntarily, I remembered my last hours in this bed.
"I will kill anyone you thought was your friend. I will tear out their throats and hearts one by one and torture them until they feel half as much pain as I will feel. I'll make this whole bloody world go up in flames, and it'll never rise from its fall, and neither will I if you leave me."
"Were you always so dramatic, or did it just happen in your old age?" I taunted, taking a sip of water to cover up my earlier sudden coughing fit from him. But I doubt I'll be able to explain the blood on the mirror if he looks in the bathroom when he returns.
"I'm not joking, love. If you die before I find a cure, I'll follow you straight to hell and drag you back with me. No one and nothing can take you from me."
"I'd find it romantic if you didn't presume that I'm the spawn of the devil. What if I'm an angel in disguise?"
"Then they did a fantastic job of camouflaging you. I have to go now, love. You have one task: Don't die. Can you do it?"
"I'll try. Nik, I lo..." he hung up before I could finish. "I love you, Nik." I whispered to myself, trying my hardest to control the sudden dizziness.
Klaus, whatever you're doing, please do it faster.
And I still talk to you (When I'm screaming at the sky) And when you can't sleep at night (You hear my stolen lullabies)
"I think you should go in the red one. This color has always suited you." I mumbled as I stood next to my sister and watched her look at herself in the mirror.
At one point, she sighed resignedly, falling onto the bed where Rebekah was sitting. The blonde pulled away from the phone, glancing at the doppelgänger.
"What's wrong with you this time? We went through all our wardrobes, and you didn't pick anything? You always look stunning, just go for something."
"Usually, it was Y/N who helped me choose a dress for a date."
The deafening silence that filled the room probably hurt me more than it hurt them. How I would love to be there with them.
"I'm… I'm sorry."
"You don't have to. How could you know? I just… really miss her."
"Yeah. Me too. All of us do."
"I'd probably borrow something from her if she was still here and if Klaus wasn't guarding her room like a vault."
"Speaking of him, I should probably check on him. If you can hear me in any way, take the little red one. Elijah will be delighted." I said getting out of bed and heading to my bedroom. I've probably spent more time in it as a ghost than a vampire.
I entered the room, neatly dodging the piles of books and clothes that Klaus had scattered around, looking for things that still smelled of me. I dreaded thinking what he would do when they were gone. Maybe he'll be in the mood to use my perfume instead and go outside? It was the best scenario.
I sighed, recognizing his curled form on the bed. He was wearing my favorite sweatpants and a (too big for me) sweatshirt. I was a little scared that he could easily fit into my clothes. Several bottles of alcohol and bags of blood were placed next to him. At least he was feeding. I sat next to him, running my hand through his hair (pretending to do so).
"I know it's hard for you and that you can't move on; come to terms with what happened. I'd probably be in much worse shape if I couldn't hear you, see your ridiculously handsome face. But you are stronger than me. Much stronger. You have to get out of this. For yourself, for your siblings, for Hope… for me." I began to cry, trying to somehow hug the also weeping hybrid. "I'm so sorry, Nik."
Suddenly, a very angry Hayley burst into the room with a nervous Elijah behind her.
"KLAUS! That's enough! You have to get yourself in order and get out of this hole. It will be best if you go for a walk with YOUR DAUGHTER. Do you still remember her? Hope misses you and has been restless for several weeks. I can't calm her down, so do your fatherly duty and move your ass, or I'll do it for you."
"Go away." he mumbled, not even looking up since they came in.
The brunette snorted, trying to take my blanket from him, which covered him. As soon as her hands were on the material, the hybrid growled, snatching it from her hands and pinning the woman by the neck to the wall.
"Touch her stuff again, and I'll make it the last thing you do in your miserable, meaningless life."
"Niklaus! Let her go!" I screamed along with Elijah. Klaus ignored his brother, only tightening his grip on the barely alive woman.
"Do you think Y/N would want you to kill your baby's mother?"
Luckily, this convinced the hybrid. He released Hayley from his grip and shoved them both out of the room, locking the door behind them. He threw himself heavily on the bed, inhaling my scent to calm himself down. After a while, tears started flowing from his eyes.
I didn't have it in myself to go with grace And so the battleships will sink beneath the waves You had to kill me, but it killed you just the same
The worst thing about this illness wasn't the debilitating pain. Loneliness was the worst.
Each of the Mikaelsons and Katerina were involved in obtaining the cure. They still had hope. But I resigned myself to my fate the moment Lucien's venom pierced my body with a wooden ball.
That didn't mean I wanted to die alone.
As if on cue, Katerina burst into my room and sat on the bed next to me. I could see her lips move, but I couldn't hear a sound in the world. It wasn't until she poured a glass of cold water over me that my complete consciousness returned to me.
"Are you crazy?!" I shouted. "If you want to get me to my grave faster, there are other ideas." Katerina stopped laughing and suddenly tensed up, glaring reproachfully at me.
"Don't even dare say that. You're not going to die, do you understand? Klaus is getting a cure right now. You will recover. I promise." she said, grabbing my hand and planting a kiss on my forehead, brushing sweaty, wet strands of hair out of my eyes.
"You may be the best liar that ever walked on this earth, but I always knew when you were lying."
"I'm glad I'm not doing it this time. You'll see, you'll be cruising around again in a few hours, avoiding Klaus' argument about obeying his orders."
"At least when I go to hell, I'll meet our father and kick his ass for separating you from Nadia. Maybe Mikael and Dahlia will be on my hit list too." I mumbled, giving in after several hours to the urge to close my eyes. Then I felt that I had been shivering with fever all this time.
"Y/N, open your eyes. You've got to open your eyes for me, just for a little while longer. Please, Y/N."
"We should saddle our horses today and take a ride to the lake. We haven't done that for a long time."
"We'll go to Bulgaria I promise, just open your eyes for me. Molya te, sestrichke otvori ochi."
"Obicham te Katerina." I whispered, feeling the last bloody tears fall from my eyes.
"Y/N! Wake up! Freya!" Katherine screamed in panic, trying to wake me up by shaking my shoulders.
The next few minutes were weightless as I waited to pass into the ghost world. With the remnants of my ebbing life, I felt the commotion around my bed. The bitter liquid was forced down my throat, and someone clenched my jaw to make sure I didn't spit out the horrible liquid. In the background, I could still hear Freya and Davina mumbling, Katerina and Rebekah crying, and Klaus screaming in rage before I was swallowed up in pain-relieving darkness for good.
Cursing my name, wishing I stayed You turned into your worst fears And you're tossing out blame, drunk on this pain Crossing out the good years And you're cursing my name, wishing I stayed Look at how my tears ricochet
It's been a month and a half since my death, and Klaus has made one small, significant progress. He didn't throw his fangs at anyone who so much as uttered my name. After the attack on Hayley, he had controlled his aggression and was not a relative danger to society. Well… at least not more than usual.
I, on the other hand, felt much better than a months ago. My vampire speed somehow reactivated, saving me from chasing the rushing original for half a day. Also, watching my loved ones brought me some relief. Only Klaus was still stuck in place, unable to let me go.
Hayley and Freya joined forces to talk some sense into him and set him on the right path. But even their best efforts could not change the stubborn hybrid's mind.
That's how I got here. At my grave, watching Klaus clean it and add new flowers, throwing out the ones that had faded since his visit yesterday. I got more flowers from him after I died than I've had in 500 goddamn years.
He usually worked in silence, occasionally humming some old song I made him sing ages ago when I was upset. He has always had a wonderful voice.
But today, after a particularly bad fight with Hayley, Elijah, and Freya, he sat on the bench in front of my tombs and did something he hadn't done before. He was talking to me (or rather, to a stone slab with my name on it, but still).
"I know you wouldn't approve of my behavior. I know you would yell at me and get angry. My gods, I never imagined that I would miss it so much. I really wish I could be there for Hope, but I can't. I can't let her see me like this. Even if she's so little now. I know she needs me, but... everyone I love is dying. And I can't let anyone else die again because of me. Especially not my daughter. I want her to live. I want her to grow up. I want her to love, even if it brings you pain and sadness. Be a strong and beautiful woman, as you and her mother. I don't know what to do, Y/N. And I really wish that you were here to tell me, my little vampire."
A fountain of tears spilled from both his and my eyes. For the first time today, I reached for him, pulling him to me in a poor imitation of a hug.
The hybrid jumped up from the bench in fear, staring shocked and suspiciously at the place he had recently occupied. My heart beat faster. Did he? No. It is impossible. Klaus has the same incredulous look as mine. But what if…
"Y/N?" for the first time in these long, cold months, I shed a wave of relief tears. I sat there in shock, staring at the uncertain hybrid with unimaginable happiness. He could feel me. Like I him. "Please, show me it's you, and I'm not delusional."
I rushed over to him, hugging him with all my might. The hybrid almost knocked us to the ground. He probably didn't hear my loud laugh because he would have looked a little more offended than full of disbelief and happiness.
"I'll recognize that smell anywhere. Cruel woman, if you really are just a figment of my imagination and I make a fool of myself by running to my siblings with this, then know that I will meet you soon in hell and will not let your soul depart from me again." I slapped his shoulder for saying such nonsense, and he just laughed, gropingly trying to pull me closer to his chest.
I allowed myself, for the first time in months, to sink into the blissful feel of his warm skin. We needed a moment to ourselves before he shared this discovery with Freya, and their next fight to retrieve me from death's clutches began. For now, I enjoyed Klaus' clinginess.
"Don't even think that I'll deprive you of your touch for a moment. I'm going to hold you until the end of the bloody world." he whispered, moving around me from memory to put his chin on top of my head after he kissed me there softly.
It sounded good. But I knew it wouldn't be enough for us for long.
