Scaramouche x Reader
Where you find him making a toy that looks like him
Tumblr media
The sunset enveloped the horizon in orange and pink hues as you walked through Sumeru City. The usual bustle of the merchants was beginning to subside, leaving in its place a calm that was only interrupted by the sound of your footsteps. You knew where to find him: he always looked for the secluded places, where the noise of the world couldn’t reach him. This time was no different.
There he was, sitting next to a small toy workshop, watching an old man sew a tiny cloth figurine. The Wanderer, or Scaramouche, as you had known him long ago, had taken a break from his incessant wandering to learn something as simple as creating toys. But even in that moment of stillness, his countenance showed the constant struggle against his thoughts.
You approached carefully, stopping a few steps away before speaking.
“I didn’t expect to find you here,” you said softly, trying not to break the fragile peace that surrounded him.
Scaramouche looked up slowly, his amethyst eyes reflecting a mix of surprise and caution. Then, he returned his attention to the cloth figure in his hands, handling it carefully.
“Why am I not surprised that you always appear when I least expect it?” he replied, his tone filled with that usual irony, but with a softer tone than he usually showed.
You sat down beside him, looking at the toy he had been making. It was a small doll that, although simple, had a sweet and detailed expression. There was something almost endearing about seeing him dedicate himself to something so mundane.
“It’s pretty. It looks like you” you commented, pointing at the doll.
“It’s just fabric and stuffing,” he replied, but out of the corner of your eye you noticed his hands holding it carefully. “Nothing important.”
“Why I get the feeling that you’re reflecting yourself? but you know that’s not true,” you replied, fixing your gaze on him.
For a moment, it looked like he was going to retort with one of his usual barbs, but his silence was enough to understand that you had touched something deep. He looked down, his fingers playing with the edges of the fabric.
“There are things that can’t be fixed, no matter how hard you try,” he finally murmured, his voice lower, laden with a vulnerability he rarely showed.
“Maybe not everything can be fixed, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth trying,” you told him, with a calm firmness.
“If you didn’t believe that, you wouldn’t be here doing this."
So, you grabbed the thread, some stuffing, and sewing materials from Scaramouche's hands. You brushed your hair out of your face and with a cheerful smile, you said to Scaramouche:
"Come on! Let's finish sewing that doll. I'm sure it will turn out perfect!"
The wind blew softly, carrying with it the dry leaves that decorated the street. For a moment, the two of you remained silent. Finally, Scaramouche looked up at you, his eyes shining with something you couldn’t quite identify.
“You’re irritating,” he murmured, but this time his tone was devoid of harshness. It was almost… an acknowledgement.
You smiled, knowing that this small gesture was his way of thanking you.
Just like you were sewing his doll now, you could also sew his heart, dont you?

Scara who has been taken cared of by Nahida, meets girl who he falls in love with. You know the whole "I don't need anyone" turning into "Yeah maybe I deserve this" but slowly.
"It'll be fun!" is what Nahida always told Hat Guy, whenever Holi came around.
It's that festival where people threw coloured powder at each other, if you were unfortunate enough, you might get coloured water thrown on you instead.
Scaramouche hated it.
Every year, he disappeared on the colourful day.
"Oh, there you are, I thought I might find you here," Scaramouche holds back a sigh at your voice coming from behind him. Somehow you had the knack of knowing where he was hiding.
The Aranara hovering around him scattered.
In some ways Scaramouche had found a sort of peace in Sumeru.
Something that he once didn't have.
In the few years that he had stayed here, under Nahida's care, his thoughts about "eternity"--thoughts that things should remain the same, should remain constant, that people should remain as they are--had shifted and turned into an understanding that change...is most definitely inevitable. Especially when knowledge was so abundant everywhere.
"What is it now?" He drawled, head lazily lolling sideways to look at you, all smiles and looking as if you had found a secret hiding amongst the trees and vines.
"Just thought you might need some company," but you don't approach him, and only peer at his face with the same smile.
He doesn't make any move to wave you away or wave you over and just huffs, prying his eyes away from your form. "I had some until you scared the little critters away,"
You guessed he was pertaining to the Aranara. "My apologies then," you humored him and finally sat next to him, the bark of the tree a little rough on your back. "You really hate Holi, huh?"
"I hate the colours,"
"So you don't particularly hate the tradition?"
"I don't have any reason to hate the tradition," Scaramouche is suddenly conscious of your shoulder bumping into his. His eyes briefly darts towards where they meet, and almost immediately darts away to look at the tree leaves swaying in the breeze.
Wordlessly, you lean over to reach the patch of grass in front of the two of you. There are some stray leaves and sticks right around the place that you gather in the middle. Your fingers snap, and quite quickly the flames of pyro lick the small pile alive.
Scaramouche raises an eyebrow in bafflement at what you were doing, but realizes what the purpose was when you sprinkle some sort of magical powder onto the tiny bonfire.
There's a quick burst of strong flame, then it simmers down. The orange turns into a medley of blue, red, pink, green, and many other colours that take turns appearing in the fire. For a second he was mesmerized at the sudden vibrancy of it, but he scoffs and closes his eyes, leaning backwards on the tree when the novelty of it wore off.
"Holi celebrates the triumph of good over evil," you explain, even though you were certain he knew of this already. Your eyes reflect the different coloured flames, dancing around beautifully.
He's silent.
Good and evil.
What really are they? Was he more evil than good? Or was it the other way around? Did it matter?
Scaramouche never pretended to be a saint. Never pretended that he was without sin. He never claimed that he was a good person. Never, and he never thought that he would be a "good" person. None of that was him. None of the word "good" was an inch of him.
"You're most likely celebrating it with the wrong person then," he peeks an eye open to watch you, but also fully opens his eyes to finally watch the flames with you. It's nothing remarkable really. Just a fire that wasn't orange.
"Because you're evil more than good?" You ask and voice his own thoughts aloud, but you follow with a laugh. "Get over yourself, Scaramouche. It's not just about you," The flames start to dwindle in size, the pile of leaves and sticks were scant to begin with. "It's about celebrating the good things in life,"
The good things in life?
He started to think.
Life itself was already so complicated to him.
Adding "good things" was almost something he didn't want to bother with.
What exactly were the "good things" in life?
He was surprised--even shocked--to come to the conclusion that he was able to think about a few things.
Being of use to someone. Being in a place where peace of mind was available. Having quiet nights as opposed to restless nightmares. Having someone go out of their way to look for him and--
The flames disappeared. He blinked back to reality and turned his head to look at you, who was clapping in small delight at the end of the little fire show you made.
"...I suppose I could celebrate that," he mumbled, almost too hard for you to hear.
"Of course you can!" You piped up, now standing and dusting your clothes in preparation to leave. You weren't actually going to bother him for the whole day, just this small celebration was enough for you. "Surely there must be at least one good thing to happen to you here in Sumeru," you shrug and point at the way you came. "I'll be off then. Careful on your way back, red is really hard to wash off,"
He watches as you casually turn to start heading back. "I'll come," he moves up, purposely not meeting your eyes, picking imaginary fluff off of his shoulder. He then crosses his arms over his chest, melding his expression into a grin. "I need a shield anyway,"
You roll your eyes, and walk ahead of him.
He watches your back, for a moment.
Watches, as he starts to accept that you are one of those good things, despite how annoying and persistent you are in trying to get him to celebrate those dumb traditions.
Excuse any mistakes, written in quite a hurry.

Denial is Futile: Wanderer x f!reader - Chapter 8
Read on AO3 | Series Masterlist | Taglist
« Chapter 1 | < Chapter 7
Summary:
What would you do if you were stuck with Wanderer indefinitely?
The cute and sweet guy from the bazaar was brought to your place while unconscious. But when he woke up, you were appalled by the amount of snark he had. Was he even the same person? And now you were stuck with him because he could literally die if he stopped holding your hand. You weren't sure if you could tolerate him any longer. Little did you know he was exactly the type of person you needed in your life.
Other info: Fluff, humor, sfw, enemies to lovers, some hurt/comfort and angst later, character growth, female reader, other characters makes cameo appearances
Words: 3.7k
*****
“Have you not been on a boat before?” asked Wanderer, clicking his tongue. The ship bobbed up and down to the rhythm of the waves. The clouds were gray, and the gentle lull of the boat could easily rock him to sleep, but your yapping kept him wide awake.
“Of course I've been on a boat. How do you think I even got to Sumeru in the first place?” you retorted.
“Hey, Xu Liushi!” Beidou’s booming voice resounded right behind him, causing Wanderer to jolt. “How's the weather looking?” He wished she wouldn't do that.
“No changes in my prediction. We should be good to go,” he replied from the crow’s nest that was right above your heads.
“Alright, keep an eye out,” she yelled back at him, and he sent her a thumbs-up.
Beidou then placed her arms around the two of you as the anchors were lifted onto the boat’s deck.
“Nice to meet you,” she told you. “The name's Beidou. I'm the captain of the Alcor here. Wanderer gave us a hard time last time he was around, but I'm hopeful you're not the type to cause any problems.” Wanderer shrugged her arm off his shoulder.
“What did you do?” you asked him. “You caused trouble?”
Wanderer rolled his eyes and ignored you. Of course you'd assume that.
Beidou let out a bright and hearty laugh. “I'm just pulling your leg,” she said while nudging you. “Why? Were you worried he took our ship hostage just to bag a few pieces of Mora? That'll never happen with this crew. We'd never back down from a fight.”
“Alright…” you looked at him again. “What did you do?”
Wanderer sighed. “Let's just say that alcohol has no effect on me whatsoever. Besides, Beidou is just messing with you to poke fun at me. But it's not like I'd lose to a challenge against the crew anyway,” he said, rolling his eyes.
“There's that fighting spirit,” Beidou laughed again. “It took a while to get that side out of him. He was so lost in thought the last time he was here we thought he went missing in the middle of the sea.”
This was Beidou alright. She continued her small talk with you to make you feel welcome on the ship, so Wanderer turned his attention elsewhere. Kazuha gave him a wave from the other side of the ship while helping a crewmember with some bags. It looked like he was able to make it.
“It's good to see you again,” Kazuha told Wanderer as he placed a hand on his shoulder. When your chat with Beidou came to a pause, he introduced himself to you. “My name is Kaedehara Kazuha,” he said. “It's a pleasure to meet you. Wanderer is a friend of mine.”
“You have friends?” you asked.
Wanderer groaned. “Just be glad I have enough connections to get us to Inazuma. It's not exactly cheap, you know,” he replied.
A few drops of water landed on the deck, staining the wood to a dark brown. A few of the crewmembers covered their heads before finding shelter but others were used to standing in the rain.
“Well, I hope you're ready for some light showers for now,” Beidou commented. “Xu Liushi says it won't be a full blown storm, but we'll still keep an eye out there during our travel. We've got to haul some goods there and back. You were lucky enough to hitch a ride with us just in time.”
The light drizzle picked up slightly and you inched closer to Wanderer. “Are you seriously using my hat as an umbrella?” he said.
“Isn't that what you're doing? With a hat that large, it'd be a waste not to,” you replied.
He grumbled but tilted his head towards your side without saying a word. But the rain got heavier, so the two of you moved to the back of the boat to where the shelter was. When you got there, Mora-grubber stood in front of the cargo taking inventory of the goods to be traded and a young girl ran up the stairs to give her a message about a few changes to the stock. The voyage proceeded with business as usual and the two of you rested under the shelter.
A few hours passed and now there was no land in sight. Kazuha came by to hand you two some lunch. Wanderer chatted with him for a bit, just filling him in on some unimportant updates like how he ended up being stuck with you. Kazuha chuckled at the situation before being called to another part of the ship.
As he left, Wanderer grumbled. “Why were you looking at me like that?” he asked.
“How do you know Kazuha?” you said as you continued to hold onto his arm. Why did you have to be so close to him?
“Why?” he said dryly. “You interested in him?”
“Are you allergic to answering questions directly?” you retorted.
Wanderer shrugged. “It's not like you answered my question either.”
You sighed. “He seems like a nice guy. I just didn't expect someone like him to consider you a friend.”
He didn't take it as an insult; the thought had crossed his mind as well. “I didn't expect it either,” he said.
Rain continued to drop off the shelter you were under and the occasional bump from the waves swayed the ship. “Did you two know each other when you lived in Inazuma?” you asked.
“You mean when I lived there centuries ago?” he asked.
“Oh… right…” You shifted your eyes away from him. “I assume he's human then?”
“Wow,” Wanderer said. “Seems you got it right this time.”
You didn't snap back like you usually did, yet the look you gave him was the type that would invite one to open up about their ‘feelings’. He didn't care though. You were free to do as you pleased.
Wanderer sighed when you continued to stare at him expectantly. Just what would it take to make you stop? “Do you remember the clans I slaughtered from my memories?” he asked. “Kazuha is a descendent of a man I spared.”
You continued to stare at him, but your brows began to ruffle and then relax before your eyes grew wide. “So he had a connection to that? Did you tell him about it? But then how did you two end up…”
“Becoming friends?” he finished.
It was a long story and he didn't think it was necessary to tell you all the details. He wasn't exactly proud of his past and only shared his memories with you to find a solution to your current dilemma. As a result, he glossed over the guilt and sorrow he felt after learning the truth.
Wanderer had gone back to Inazuma after his memories came back. It wasn't an immediate return, but he eventually did. He was fully prepared to accept what he was due, after all, and he had never considered backing down. So when Wanderer told Kazuha about his past crimes, he told him all of them including his involvement with the delusion factory.
“Kazuha told me to move on from the past,” he spoke with a sigh. “But even after telling him everything I had done, I wasn't satisfied. Did he really have the authority to say that my past crimes were forgiven?”
He knew Kazuha held no bitterness against him, but he was only one of the many that were wronged. How could he make things right with the dead? Even then, none of them fully understood the extent of his sins. Was there really anyone who could free him from his guilt completely?
He let out a breath. “There's no such thing as pure freedom in this world.”
The rain fell a little faster now. He didn't mind it. He wouldn't get sick from this anyway. Even if he stepped out into the rain, it would be a familiar feeling to him.
You grabbed his chin with your hand and squeezed his face between your thumb and fingers.
He smacked you away. “What are you doing?”
You put your hand back on his chin. “No! Only positive thinking!” you exclaimed.
“What the hell?” he said after smacking it again.
“You can't think like that!” you emphatically said.
He rolled his eyes. “What's wrong with you? It's not like thinking positively will change reality, no matter how much you wish you could.”
The rain began to fall harder and you leaned your back against a pillar. “No, it’s not true,” you said with a slight tremble in your voice. The water dripping off the roof increased its pace.
He sighed, turning to the scene of the endless sea with no land in sight. Just how vast was this ocean whose waves could consume in an instant? But a small bird fluttered towards the ship amidst the rain. With the miles of water surrounding the ship, it must have been a miracle for it to get here. It flapped its wings, nearing closer and closer towards you, yet it had escaped your notice. The bird gently hovered over your head, but didn't land on you; it decided to rest on Wanderer’s large hat instead.
Wanderer waved his arm to shoo it away. It ascended from his hat, fluttered about in a circle or two, then perched on his hat yet again. He groaned as he pinched the bridge of his nose. “I can't believe this,” he said, shooing it again once more. It left his hat but returned yet again, the same result happening after multiple evictions.
While all this was happening, you stared wide-eyed at this strange occurrence and marveled at the persistence of this bird. You finally burst out into laughter. Wanderer stood stupefied at the situation. An insolent bird was adamantly trying to make his hat its home, and now this woman, who was attached to him, was laughing her head off at his annoyance.
“Just let it make its nest on your hat,” you said with a smirk. “I don't think it’ll relent any time soon.”
“Will you quit laughing and just help me?” he said.
“What? ‘I don't take pleasure in other people's suffering,’” you quoted him with a smile.
He rolled his eyes before finally surrendering to this pest. It wasn't worth fighting off this little white bird. Strangely, it was familiar to him, perhaps because it was similar to the charm on his bracelet. Yet he’d never seen this species up close before – only in images. Was it even from this world?
The bird cooed and found a comfortable spot on his hat, satisfied with its newfound home. Wanderer grumbled. “Just don't expect anything else from me,” he told the bird. “Alright?”
Yet throughout the rest of the trip, one crewmember after another used the bird for photography practice and took many shots of Wanderer and the infamous bird.
*****
The absence of Sango pearls and pink coral reassured you that you'd be fine here. This was not Watatsumi Island. Instead, you were met with a port as you landed at Ritou.
Night covered the sky as you stepped off the boat and made your way to the city. Your shadows grew long and short from every street light you passed. After arriving at a stall, Wanderer talked to an officer to process your papers to enter the nation of Inazuma.
Across the street, two middle-aged men placed their feet up on a table with their drinks in hand. “It's been a long day,” you overheard one say. “Some of my goods were stolen. It was two months worth of items! I had to pull out money from my savings.”
His friend took another gulp before placing his glass down. “That's a bummer,” he said. “Sometimes I wonder if I should hire my own security worker. The Tenryou Commission is usually on top of things, but they can only do so much.”
Wanderer tugged on your hand and led you further along the street. You weren't sure where he was taking you. You were unfamiliar with this area, but that fact put you at ease.
Nobody would recognize you here.
“We'll rest here,” said Wanderer, handing a bag of coins to the lady at the counter. Inside the inn's reception area, two couches faced each other on one side of the room while the other had a few small tables with a couple of chairs each.
You rubbed your eyes as the two of you walked towards the hallway where the rooms were. It was getting late. But a child ran into you, causing you to stumble. As he looked up at you, his eyes began to fill with tears. He cried some more, then sniffled, before finally wailing in the end. A female worker dropped her blankets and hurried to his side.
“What happened, sweetheart?” she asked him, stroking his head to provide some comfort.
“Mommy,” he cried, wiping his stream of tears but failing. “A thief took my… my…” He then proceeded to cry even harder.
“I… I didn't do anything,” you blurted out, worried she'd think you were the culprit.
“Don't worry about it,” the mother reassured you. “I know it wasn't your fault.” She then told her son, “Come here,” and ushered him into a more private room. The hallway went quiet.
Would he be okay?
“Where do you think you're going?” Wanderer asked you. You paused, looked around the area, and then realized that you had begun to walk towards their room. “He'll be fine,” he said with a grumble.
But the boy's words had bothered you. Was there a thief on these streets? The other men had their items stolen too. You clenched your fist and your nails dug into your palm, but you weren't aware of your anger.
Yet Wanderer noticed. You had clenched your other hand as well, the one wrapped around his.
“Would you just go to sleep already?” he snapped at you as you lay on the floor beside him. “I don't want to be dragging you along to Inazuma City while you're half-awake.”
“Do you think they're still there?” you asked.
“Any normal person would’ve left already,” he grumbled, somehow knowing exactly whom you were referring to.
“Maybe they're not normal…” you added. There was still a possibility they were there. Didn't the mother work here?
“Fine. Go ahead and play hero,” he told you. He lay back down beside you and turned his face away.
“But you need to come with me,” you added. Did he already forget that you were stuck with each other?
He gave no answer.
“Please?” you asked. “Pretty please?”
“Do you really think you can help?” he snapped at you. “Thefts happen all the time.”
“That doesn't mean people shouldn't do anything about it,” you mentioned. Why did you have to be stuck with him of all people?
“Just leave it alone,” he said, pulling the blanket over his shoulder. “Don't get involved.”
You sighed and turned onto your back to face the ceiling. You wanted to listen to him, you told yourself. You shouldn't meddle.
“But it'll just keep happening,” you said in a whisper.
You lay there in silence. In an attempt to divert your attention, you mentally listed out the tasks needed to be done in the morning. If you busied yourself with something more productive, you could forget about the boy’s plight.
Wanderer sighed, stirred, and then groaned in his spot. He finally said with a grumble, “Go check in the morning.”
A smile grew on your lips.
And that was exactly what you did.
You searched through the inn in the morning, asking if anyone had seen the boy you met the night before. Wanderer even described the boy's appearance to multiple people when he thought you weren't getting anywhere. But even after searching through the whole inn, you insisted on searching all of Ritou to find him.
“Just check all of Inazuma at this point,” Wanderer said sarcastically. “Apparently, we have an eternity to do so.”
“But we have to find that thief,” you replied.
He buried his fingers in his hair out of frustration before he finally relented. “Fine,” he grumbled. “Go ahead and find your thief. Why must you be like Niwa?”
“Who's that?” you asked.
He didn't reply. You didn't press the topic either.
It didn't take long for you to find the boy. He was by himself sitting under a table with a toy car and a lollipop just outside the inn. The two of you walked up to him, hand in hand, as the boy continued to play in his imaginary world.
“Hey, kid. You got stuff stolen from you yesterday, right?” Wanderer asked.
“Huh?” The boy peeked his head out from the table to look at him. “How did you know that?”
“Maybe if you didn't have a meltdown after running into her, someone wouldn't be meddling in your business,” Wanderer answered.
You jabbed your elbow into his stomach as a warning to behave. “Did you get hurt by the thief?” you asked the boy. “What did the thief look like?”
He spent the next few minutes describing the person he had seen. The thief had many distinct features, so you concluded that there was no way you couldn't find him.
And you did find him.
Your arm wrapped around his neck as soon as you found the suspect.
“Hey! At least watch the hair–” the thief managed to say. He gripped your arm to loosen your chokehold on him. “And this is so unfair,” he stated. “It's two against one!”
“I haven't done anything,” said Wanderer with a shrug as he continued to hold onto the back of your shirt. You adjusted your grip on the thief, hanging off of his back.
“Boss, what should we do?” his friends said in a panic. The thief tried to shake you off, frustrated that it wasn't working. You weren't letting him go that easily. A criminal couldn't go free.
“Alright, what's going on here?” said a firm voice from behind you. A woman with short dark hair crossed her arms. From her demeanour, she expected a prompt answer.
“Kujou–” the thief managed to choke out. “Please. Help. Me.”
Kujou ordered you to let go of him, but you, not understanding the authority she wielded, didn't immediately comply. But once Wanderer told you who she was, you quickly released the thief.
“Itto, what is the situation here?” Kujou asked the thief.
“Did you see what she did to me? The gal came out of nowhere. It was like she dropped from the sky and –zoom!– she grabbed my neck in an attempt to take me out. But nooo… this oni can't be taken down that easily. I can be plenty fierce if I do say so myself–”
“So why did you attack him?” Kujou asked you after confirming she wouldn't be getting any good information from Itto any time soon.
After a lengthy discussion, you found out it was a misunderstanding.
“I won fair and square and earned those snacks,” Itto stated. “J-just what was this boy accusing me of? He sounds like a sore loser if you ask me.”
“Snacks…?” you asked.
“Ha. You didn't even bother asking the boy what was stolen?” said Wanderer.
“It's not like you checked either,” you retorted, still a bit embarrassed about the situation. “But that middle-aged merchant said he was exhausted from all of his stolen goods so I thought…”
“That issue has already been resolved a week ago,” Kujou explained. “He was likely referring to all the paperwork that needed to be done.”
“B-but… but what about the boy?” you asked. “He said that–”
“He was probably just crying to Mommy about losing and being a pathetic whiner about it,” said Wanderer.
You put your fingers on the bridge of your nose. “Ugh… I messed up,” you told yourself. You shouldn't have jumped to conclusions so quickly.
“Sooo… are we dismissed?” asked Itto.
“Hold it right there.”
You turned around to see a woman with green hair and a black mask covering the lower half of her face.
“Gang bylaw, Article 375: Verbal contracts whereby the resulting outcomes involve edible goods to be handed over as rewards for games, matches, or any other activity that produces a winning party and a losing party are strictly prohibited.”
“Uh oh,” squealed one of Itto's friends.
“Gang bylaw, Article 268: Negotiating goods and services with minors in the absence or permission of their parent or guardian is forbidden.”
“But Shinobu,” protested Itto. “You should've seen how hard I worked for that match. It was the comeback of the century! If you asked me, I deserved that– Ah!” He took a few steps back and put his hands up to shield his face. Shinobu’s glare compelled him to retreat behind you.
She lifted her arms and cracked her knuckles. “Get back here right now!”
“Who brought Shinobu here?” a gang member whispered.
“How did she know we were in Ritou?” another asked.
She held up a handwritten poster with large letters describing an all-inclusive bonfire event hosted by the Arataki Gang.
Wanderer picked up the crouched Itto from behind you and tossed him in front of Shinobu as if he was throwing out a bag of trash. Itto's friends quickly ran off with the oni following closely behind. “Idiots,” said Wanderer.
Yeah, they were idiots alright. You sighed as you watched them continue to run away in the distance. Perhaps it was better that they were idiots. It'd be easier to keep them under control with how often they slipped up. If you were more like them, maybe things would’ve been different.
“Hey.”
You glanced around until you caught sight of Kuki looking directly at you. “Huh? Me?” you said, pointing to yourself.
“I can't quite explain this,” Kuki said, scratching her forehead, “but you should really go to the shrine.”
“Huh?” you said, exchanging glances with Wanderer. You were headed to Tenshukaku even though you were both reluctant to go. A detour to the shrine would set you back on your current plan and your health could continue to deteriorate.
But looking back, it was a good thing you went.

Title: Nahida's dream and plushies
Character(s): Nahida and most of the Sumeru characters (Genshin Impact)
Summary: In her dream, she saw a lady, someone she recognized but didn't remember who till she woke up, and right beside her were plushies waiting to be taken to their look a like
Warnings/tags: Fem!reader (but doesn't appear here), sagau as in cult au/god au, no romance just mainly fluff!
Klee and the little plushies Qiqi's plushie delivery Sayu's plushie mission Nahida's dream and plushies (you are here!)
Tumblr media
Nahida was a little bit in a daze. Her mind was elsewhere as she looked at the dolls in front of her. Small dolls made out of felt and wool. They all looked familiar to her, and she would have cooed at how cute they were, yet her mind could not help but think about that lady in her dream.
She looked like someone she knew... that aura of comfort and kindness that surround her wasn't like those old grannies who gave kids candies kind of gentle but something more eternal, more powerful than that. It would be hard to compare the power she had to the archons cause you and they were so different... so far apart.
This supposes elemental power... colorless but moldable and changing. Even archons were limited to their own element and weren't limitless, the Geo archon was strong, and he could command meteorites to fall into Teyvat and build high mountains. But he could not command the sea to flood the world. She herself even as an archon wasn't able to do much in the face of many who didn't want her back once.
"What are you looking so gloomy at." Nahida snapped out of her thoughts when she heard a cold, harsh yet familiar voice speaking to her. Looking to the side, she saw that huge hat of a certain someone she knew. "Wanderer." Nahida smiled at him, moving to face him. "I was looking at these cute dolls. Don't they remind you of some people?" Nahida giggled, knowing full well that he was familiar with some of them.
Wanderer raised an eyebrow at the many dolls that were placed on a table at the side of the room. Small plushies with simplified designs of people he knew. Rather than cute...
"They look creepy rather than cute." Wanderer crossed his arms as he narrowed his eyes.
"Do not say that. What if you hurt the person who made them." Nahida shook her head sighing. "Then they shouldn't have made such creepy things. What are they, a stalker?" Wanderer sarcastically replied.
"She is not a stalker... rather, she is someone we know... and wish to see. She made these just for us." Nahida replied. Looking back at the dolls walking towards it, she reached out for a small plushie from the bunch and handed it to the Wanderer. "Here. This is for you."
"Hmmm? I didn't know that there was another archon." Wanderer looked at the doll that looked just like him with the hair and clothes to the pout with a suspicious look. He must have noticed the white elemental aura surrounding it, but as Nahida continued to hold it out for him. Grabbing the doll, he took a closer look at it.
"She isn't an archon, someone far greater than that, actually..." Nahida replied to the Wanderer in a serious tone but didn't elaborate. Instead, she looked back at the plushies. "Wanderer, can you help me hand out these plushies. She had asked my help to give them out."
"Do it yourself. You don't really need my help with something like this. You are probably using this as an excuse for me to interact with more people." Wanderer huffed in annoyance, turning to leave. "If you don't need me, I will be heading out then."
"Hehe.. you caught me." Nahida laughed and let Wanderer head out. She, too, was busy with this after all. In her mind, she stored the memory of the Wanderer holding on to his plushie in one hand, the thoughtful looked he gave it when he thought she wasn't looking. She knew that he would not throw it away.
Storing them in a bag, she headed out of the room she started to search.
And the first person she found was Collie!
Collie was flustered when the dendro archon walked up to her as she had just come to the city with Tighnari as he had an appointment with his friends. She followed along as wanted to see the place again and buy some stuff that she could only get here.
She didn't think she would run into the dendro archon, much less suddenly be given a doll. "Is this for me?" Collie asked, taking the doll and holding it as if it would break by a slight touch. She heard from her friend Amber that she had received a doll from a mysterious lady and that it was the cutest thing ever. And it really was cute when Collie saw a small doodle of it she thought of getting one for herself.
She didn't expect she would be receiving one from the dendro archon! The both of them soon parted ways, and Collie thought of what she would tell Amber later on in her letter. Her little doll also had a small cat plush connected to it!
The next person Nahida found was Nilou, who was street performing in the middle of city hall. Her dance was so graceful and lovely Nahida didn't want to bother and instead watched till it ended, clapping when it had finished. Nilou greeted the Dendro archon with respect, happy that her archon made a visit and watched her dance.
Nahida told her that the dance was so pretty and gifted her the plush. Surprised, Nilou asked her if she was the one who made it, but Nahida shook her head, telling her that it was from a special someone.
The fans were jealous of how much Nilou treasured the doll, while others couldn't help but smile. After all, it was an honor to receive something given by the dendro archon, and they were proud of Nilous.
Next, Nahida found Cyno, who was in the middle of a TCG match. She watched him conquer the match after struggling in the first few rounds. "It is an honor that the dendro archon watched my match." Cryo raved on about his journey to win this match, and as a congratulation, Nahida gave him a little plush. "I shall treasure and protect this till my dying breath."
"Please, you don't have to go that far," Nahida replied with a worried smile. Tho it made her a little happy that he would treasure the plushie this much.
Next, she found Kaveh speaking with Dori, something about a dept, but before Nahida could get more information (not that she was trying to eavesdrop), they stopped as they had noticed her.
"My do what do I owe the Dendro archon the pleasure of visiting the Palace of Alcazarzaray. Could you be looking for something? Fabrics? Spice? Or something rare? I have it all!" Dori said, couldn't be able to contain her excitement at the idea of the dendro archon becoming her dear customer.
Kaveh was slightly more flustered but quickly composed himself and respectfully asked why she was here and if she was looking for something or someone.
"I am here to find you two." Nahida smiled and showed them two plushies that looked just like them. "They are a gift from a certain someone!" The two were surprised at the dolls, accepting them from her.
Both had different reactions.
On one hand, Kaveh had a more touched expression asking Nahida if he could know who made this lovely handmade plushie of him and his bag and that he wanted to give back, while Dori was more materialistic having come up with "a brilliant idea!" Raising her plushie with a purple small genie plush jingling at the movement to the sky, her eyes twinkling at the thought of potential mora~!
Nahida could only smile, her face hinting that the maker doesn't want to be known. Kaveh, knowing that he could not do anything here, could not help but sigh but stated that if this person were to ever need any help that he could possibly give, feel free to ask. (Dori was disappointed that she would not hire the person who made these plushies.)
The next she found was Candace and Dehya at the desert village, the two catching up after fighting some treasure hoarders trying to steal from the village. "Ah, it is the dendro archon Nahida! It has been a while!"
"Welcome to Aaru village, dendro archon."
Giving them their plush, both of them found the plushies absolutely adorable and asked the person who made them if they ever feel comfortable to come and visit them one time. Candace would gladly welcome them to the village while Dehya offered a small shopping spree as she knew all the trends and shops or if they ever needed a bodyguard one day just call her.
The last two girls, Faruzan and Layla, were found at the academy as both of them traded notes that were of interest but also some chit-chat. The two were surprised when they found out that the dendro archon was looking for them as one of the scholars frantically searched for them told them so.
"This is so cute. It even has twirly whirly my shroom buddy beside it.... I miss them." "This doll is very cute. You could see the hard work and effort placed into making each and every single stitch. Send the person who made them my thanks. I would do it myself, but it seems that they don't want to be known." "Me too! I think with this I could do better in my essay that I need to finish... yawn"
The last two people she needed to look for were Tighnari and Al Haitham and soon found them sitting at the cafe along with Kaveh and Cyno. In Al Haitham's hand was Kaveh plush while one Tighnari's was Cyno both examine it.
Cyno was going on and on about the card game he won in the presence of the dendro archon and that it was an honor to win in her presence as Tighnari told him to stop telling the same story for the third time now. "We get it. We know that you will hand down this plushie as a family heirloom!"
"There is something about these dolls that is not right...." Al Haitham narrowed his eyes at Kaveh's dolls. He definitely knew that something was up with these. "They are given by the dendro archon herself. Of course, they are unique! Gah, you are always suspicious of everything." Kaveh stated frustratedly. "Do you ever know how to relax and just appreciate the work that went into making this!"
"If you would just stop and look a little harder, maybe you would notice that something is odd about them." Al Haitham didn't look up at Kaveh. These dolls in the end weren't gifts from the dendro archon but someone who is probably of higher rank than an archon to be able to make the archon do such work.
"Al Haitham is correct about them being unique. You would never find these dolls somewhere else, even if you searched the whole Teyvat." Nahida cut in, walking towards them with a smile on her face. Everyone looked at Nahida, who stopped beside them, Al Haitham and Tighnari greeted her as they didn't see her beforehand like the other two boys had.
"These are for you!" Nahida giggled, handing Tighnari and Al Haitham their own plushies both thanking her for them. "What do you mean by unique?" Tighnari asked curiously, his tail swishing a little faster as he looked at his own doll. He saw Collie's one and wondered if he could get one, too. Lightly tugging the doll's ear long as his own, he looked at Nahida again.
"They are from someone special, someone who watches over us all." Nahida stated, her eyes closing as she remembered the lady she met in her dream, the little conversation that she and you had.
She didn't realize who you were nor why she thought that you were so familiar to her back then inside the dream she only realize who you were when she woke up and saw the plushies on the side of her and a familiar white elemental magic surrounding them.
Returning back to her room, she saw a doll that looked exactly like her surrounded by Aranara plushies. Smiling at the doll, she hugged hers and hoped that one day she would actually see you in person and not in a dream.

Note: If you find any mistakes here please tell me! Anyway, phew part 4 of the series is over! I know that Genshin has released characters outside of Sumeru that are not included here in the series yet but I plan on saving it for a later date when more characters for the past regions show up!
Another note for taglist: The tag list will be open later when Fontaine is somewhat finished and most characters are already out which would probably take a longggg time. But for now, the taglist will be closed. If anybody does not want to be tagged later tell me so that I can remove you from the list.

Wanderer/Sethos/Aether
a/n: Just a quick note to say that I did receive a 'harsh' anon message, which I ended up deleting because I didn't see anything constructive about it. Though I will say, just to clarify if they happen to see this, that I'm just writing fics bro. It's not that deep, I'm writing because I enjoy it, I'm happy that others enjoy it too, that's who they're aimed for. If they're not for you, then fine. I hope you find what you're looking for. I will happily accept constructive criticism but straight up rudeness will be deleted. 💚 Now anyway lmao here is some lee!Wanderer, I hope you enjoy!

How did this happen?
Where did it all go wrong?
Wanderer only went out to grab some fresh air away from the stuffy Akademiya but somehow found himself flying across Sumeru city to escape the clutches of the traveller and that annoying little bee called Sethos.
He looked back over his shoulder to see that both were in hot pursuit, both grinning with determination to get their hands on the anemo user.
With a chuckle, Wanderer had to give credit to their efforts, but it was time for this foolishness to end.
The puppet called back a taunting, “See ya’!” before speeding off further into the city and disappearing around one of many corners and kept flying until he reached a small tree and grass patch just outside of the city.
For a fleeting moment, he thought he had escaped his pursuers, a triumphant grin spreading across his face.
“Not fast enough, almighty Traveller- ACK.” He felt a powerful force slam into him from behind before he could even finish his triumphed speech, sending him crashing to the grassy patch below him, his hat thrown from his head.  “What! How?!”
“You underestimated us!” Sethos beamed as he and the blonde traveller wrestled Wanderer down to the ground.
“Which isn’t anything new for you, is it?” Aether’s voice was smug, and in that moment, Wanderer wanted to murder them both. No one would know, he could easily pass it off as an accident.
“Unhand me!” Wanderer demanded. “Or both of you will face the fatal consequences!”
The two men chuckled at his dramatic declaration and looked at each other with nothing but mischief in their eyes. “Watch this, Sethos – I’ll prove to you now that our beloved Hat guy here is ticklish.”
What.
Wanderer’s eyes widened in alarm as Aether’s fingers crept towards him. This bastard wouldn’t dare, surely? He didn’t have that much of a death wish, did he?
What made the situation even more humiliating was that Sethos was present, and wait, when did he put the anemo user’s hat on his head instead? But if he caught even a glimpse of something that could be used against him, he would never leave him alone.
“Touch me, and you’ll regret it.”
Aether’s fingers making contact with his sides startled a gasp from the puppet, but he sets his jaw, determined to remain stoic and appear unaffected.
“Hm, not much of a reaction,” Sethos noted, sounding almost disappointed.
“He’s just holding it in,” Aether grinned, nimble fingers now travelling up to his ribs. “Aren’t you, Hat guy?”
“You’re really pushing it,” Wanderer said through gritted teeth, feeling himself crumble as the tickling at his ribs forced a breathy giggle from him. “Stop!”
Sethos watched in awe, then with an amused laugh of his own, he decided to join in. His eager fingers went straight under Hat guy’s arms which startled an uncontrollable cackle to burst from him.
“AHAHA – I sahahaid stop!”
“There it is!” Aether cheered with pride, revelling in the helpless laughter.
“Wow, you were right,” Sethos had to dodge a swift throw of Wanderer’s arm which squirmed rapidly in the tickling. “I’ve never heard him laugh like this before.”
“I’ll show you a laugh,” Aether stopped tickling his ribs and reached down to Wanderer’s bare knee, where he began squeezing around it with vigor.
Wanderer howled with laughter, shrieks and cackles that Sethos wasn’t even aware could be heard from him.
“I HAHAHATE YOHOHOU!”
Aether only laughed, delighted with the results of his and Sethos’ tickling. The fun came to a sudden halt when anemo energy engulfed all around them, sending both Aether and Sethos flying backwards.
“Ouch…” Sethos groaned, noting Hat guy’s hat sat upon the ground in front of him. He watched as Wanderer then picked up the hat and placed it back on his own head, holding it down over his eyes to hide his expression.
“I’m going to give you both to the count of five.”
Aether and Sethos gulped at the seriousness of his tone. Sensing the immediate danger, they were in, both panicked and started running away with a yell.
Wanderer didn’t even make it to five, as soon as they ran, he was hot on their trail. They were both going to pay for this.

Hey there, it's IDK! I usually stick to writing in the third person, but I thought I'd try something a little different this time. If you want to imagine yourself as the reader, go right ahead! Though, fair warning, I've never been the best at those kinds of stories, haha.
I'm a huge Cyno fan and proudly main him in the game, so of course, he's going to be a part of this story! I absolutely love Sumeru, and I feel like there aren't enough fanfics set there, especially ones that focus on Cyno. I'm still deciding whether to make this a series, so please let me know what you think!
Tumblr media
Okay, here's the little disclaimer and a heads-up: I don't own Hoyoverse, Genshin Impact, or anything related to them.
And a big thank you to @arn9tails for letting me use their Genshin size difference AU as the basis for this fanfic. The idea that Teyvat isn't scaled to Earth but is actually much, much larger really fascinated me—it's a pretty scary thought, isn't it? I also really liked the idea that people from Earth aren't resistant to it, which is what sparked this whole thing.
Tumblr media
Also, just a quick heads-up: this story touches on some serious and sensitive subjects. It's inspired by SAGAU (Self-Aware Genshin Impact Alternative Universe), isekai themes, different isekai worlds, creation myths, and fanfiction in general.
Alright, let's dive into chapter 3 and see what adventures await our dear Oc!
Chapter 3 Paimon copy cat:
I sighed, realizing that no amount of reader inserts, fanfiction, chatbots, or fan-made otome games could have adequately prepared me for what I was experiencing. I felt incredibly small in this world, perhaps the size of a Barbie doll, and the food before me was stunning, as though it had been plucked straight from an anime. Had I not been so stressed, I would have undoubtedly been fan-girling.
Despite the plate still appearing enormous relative to my diminutive size, hunger overwhelmed me. I was ravenous, but without any utensils. Although I had prepared this dish countless times in the game, I had never actually tasted it back on Earth.
According to the game's lore, the dish was Biryani: "An aromatic rice dish. Stir-fry the meat until it's crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Then, stew it with condiments and long-grain rice. Sprinkle a few Padisarah petals before serving. Every grain is saturated with the aroma of fatty meat and condiments. The dish has an exquisite taste only found in Sumeru." To my exhausted and sleep-deprived mind, that description simply translated to "food."
At that moment, I likely resembled a wild animal.
"You look like a boar piglet..."
I immediately recognized Cyno's voice, followed by Tighnari, who looked utterly exhausted.
"Cyno..." The forest watcher shook his head, his expression weary. "Just ignore him..."
A wave of embarrassment washed over me.
The insult was like a slap. "I don't resemble a boar..." The denial escaped my lips before I could think, a purely defensive response born from injured pride. Hindsight suggested a more tactful approach might have been wiser.
"You do... you resemble a boar piglet," Cyno's voice, a resonant baritone from his towering height, corrected me. Stupid giant Cyno. A child? I was a fully grown woman, thank you very much. I couldn't discern his meaning – was he joking, or was it simply his blunt, unwavering honesty? A shiver traced its way down my spine. The mere thought of facing a real boar filled me with apprehension. My small size in this world already put me at a disadvantage, and if the boars here were anything like their Earth counterparts, with their indiscriminate appetites, I was in deep trouble. The food chain's hierarchy became painfully obvious, and I realized I was at the very bottom.
He locked his intense, crimson gaze on me, his expression inscrutable.
"Tighnari, I did not enjoy yesterday's dinner at camp with the boar..." he stated, his tone utterly grave, the slightest cock of his head the only hint of anything unusual. I could almost hear Tighnari's weary sigh carried on the wind. "He was such a pig..." Cyno continued, his voice as monotone as ever.
As a dedicated Cyno player, even I couldn't manage a smile. He was trying, I could tell, attempting to alleviate the tension, but his attempt fell completely flat. I had always pictured that if I ever met him in person, I'd be overcome with laughter, tears streaming down my face. But here, now, standing before the genuine article? Not a possibility.
"You see, the boar is a part of the pig famil-..." I watched, a bizarre blend of fascination and dismay, as he tried to analyze and explain the joke, only further entrenching himself in comedic failure.
Tighnari, muttering, "I should wash the dishes..." gathered the plates and walked away from Cyno, abandoning me. I wanted to scream, "Giant Tighnari, come back!" but I bit back the words.
He'd deserted me the instant Cyno began his jokes. I felt a pang of sympathy for Cyno; he seemed utterly oblivious to just how awful his jokes were. Now, I was trapped at this enormous table, forced to endure them. Kaveh's voice line suddenly sprang to mind, the one where he warned the Traveler to never listen to Cyno's jokes sober. Between you and me, I'd always dismissed it as the ramblings of an alcoholic. But Kaveh was right.
Cyno's voice cut through the silence. "Not funny? Mao?"
Mao. That was the name I'd settled on. A placeholder, really, a designated title in this bizarre chapter of my life. The fact that I couldn't remember my own name gnawed at me, a constant, low-level hum of fear beneath the surface. My emotions were a tangled mess, a chaotic storm of anxiety and bewilderment. And then there was the small matter of my current stature – I was, quite literally, the size of a Barbie doll. A cat minded you.
"It's not you, it's me..." The words tumbled out before I could stop them, and I trailed off, cringing inwardly. It sounded like a breakup line, ridiculous given the circumstances. Thankfully, Cyno didn't seem to pick up on the awkwardness.
The words rushed out, a torrent of pent-up worry and frustration. "I was abducted, along with my best friends, and I have absolutely no idea where they are. On top of that, I left my aunt in charge of looking after my parents, and they're both really sick. I'm supposed to be home."
Cyno's gaze softened as he took in her plight. Trapped in a world so alien, so vast compared to her own—he understood her fear, her disorientation. A deep frown etched itself onto his face. The practice of selling these "mini humans" was an abomination, a custom long outlawed in Sumeru. Yet, despite the ban, they still surfaced, these tiny beings, often brought to the Akademiya under the guise of research.
But these miniature people… they were different. They didn't behave as ordinary humans should. Most scholars accepted this at face value, attributing it to their diminutive size or unknown origins. Cyno, however, suspected a deeper, more insidious cause. He remembered Tighnari's insightful observation: these "mini humans" likely lacked the natural defenses, the inherent immunities, against this world's unique magic, its mana.
If Mao—the name they'd given her, since her own was lost to her—was similarly vulnerable… Cyno's mind raced. He couldn't be sure if the world's strange energies had already begun to affect her. The thought sent a shiver down his spine. Was it possible she might regress, devolve into the feral state he'd witnessed in other mini humans? He couldn't allow it. He wouldn't.
His resolve hardening, Cyno met her gaze. "We're going to get to the bottom of this," he declared, his voice firm, laced with a promise he intended to keep.
I nodded, but little did I know what the next day held. A day that would turn my world, quite literally, upside down.
I awoke the following morning, desperately wishing the events unfolding were nothing more than a bizarre dream. Alas, reality crashed down upon me: I was in a gargantuan version of Teyvat, perched precariously on Cyno's broad shoulder like some exotic parrot. My knuckles were white as I gripped his cape with my uninjured hand, fighting the dizzying urge to look down. It was a terrifyingly long way to fall. He had been striding purposefully towards Sumeru City for what felt like an eternity – a good four hours, at least.
How, you might ask, did I find myself in such a ludicrous predicament? Well, it all started something like this:
"Hey," I began, craning my neck to look up at Cyno. Without a word, he promptly scooped me up, his movements reminiscent of King Kong seizing his prize.
"I really don't want to go in your pocket..." I protested, my voice laced with apprehension. The last time I'd been confined to that pocket, I was bordering on the brink of a full-blown meltdown. Besides, the space was incredibly claustrophobic.
"How else are you supposed to travel, Mao?" He crossed his arms, a gesture I knew all too well.
"Walking, like a normal person..." I suggested, perhaps with a touch too much hope in my voice.
"You wouldn't be able to keep up, and the moment you set foot on the forest floor, I'm sure some ravenous beast would try to make a meal out of you," Cyno countered, painting a rather morbid, and frankly, unsettling picture.
"Isn't there any other way?" I pleaded, desperation seeping into my tone. Cyno sighed, a sound that usually preceded some form of compromise.
"I suppose I could pass you off as a jinni..." he conceded, his voice tinged with reluctance.
And that is how I ended up here, teetering on his shoulder like a brightly plumaged parrot. To add insult to injury, I was adorned in something vaguely resembling Princess Jasmine's outfit from the cartoon, albeit a significantly more modest version, for which I was eternally, deeply grateful.
"Do the Jinn really wear these?" I asked, my fingers gripping Cyno heavy cloak. Perched precariously on Cyno's broad shoulder, I couldn't help but feel like a slightly-out-of-place Princess Jasmine Barbie doll.
"Yes, when they take human form, they do." Cyno's voice was a low rumble. "But they're rare, you know. Most are kept confined – in jars, or bound to weapons, or even trapped within lamps."
I nodded, remembering the few Jinn scattered throughout the game's lore. They were creations of Nabu Malikata, powerful beings, but…
"Are they common?" I asked, my curiosity now fully ignited. I didn't recall encountering the Jinn all that frequently during my playthroughs.
"Common enough..." Cyno replied, his tone leaving me wondering just how "common" was "common enough" in this strange new reality.
Sumeru City was a feast for the senses, a vibrant tapestry of exotic scents and captivating sounds. I reveled in its beauty, often perched comfortably upon Cyno's broad shoulder, the rich aroma of spices swirling around me. Life was tranquil, until that moment that peace shattered with a single, chilling question. I overheard a voice, laced with avarice, inquiring, "How much for the Jinni?"
Being Barbie-sized, it seemed, offered no advantages in this situation. My tiny heart lurched within my chest. Did people truly see me as nothing more than a commodity, an object to be bought and sold?
"Not for sale," Cyno's voice cut through the air, firm and unwavering. In a swift, protective motion, he tucked me safely inside the secure darkness of his cloak pocket.
I wish I had an exciting secret to share, or that I had found something interesting in Cyno's pocket, but sadly, neither of those things happened. After what felt like forever, he finally pulled me out from inside his cloak.
"Mao? Are you okay?" he asked, his voice a tint of worry. I gave a slight nod.
"I'm fine..." I answered, my eyes scanning the room. It looked like an office, or maybe a bedroom—possibly a studio apartment. I noticed I was sitting on a desk, and in the corner, there was a bed and a bookshelf. I tried to remember, but I couldn't recall Cyno ever having an office in the game. I knew he had a place to live, but the details were vague.
"So, what now?" I blurted out, feeling anxious as I sat on his desk. He stayed in his chair, looking at me.
"For now, I need you to tell me everything you know..." His voice was strong and determined. I had a sinking feeling that I was about to be interrogated.
I was the size of a Barbie doll, a tiny intruder in a colossal, terrifying version of my favorite game. The thought of being interrogated by Cyno, my beloved character, sent shivers down my spine.
He began with deceptively simple questions, each a calculated probe: my date of birth, my mother's maiden name, the name of my childhood pet. With unnerving precision, he recorded every answer.
The inevitable moment arrived when I had to explain Genshin Impact to him. It was a daunting task, considering Teyvat was a world untouched by computers and the technological marvels of modern Earth.
"In your world, I'm a character in a game?" he finally asked, his voice sharp and devoid of warmth.
"Yes..." I squeaked, my gaze fixed on the floor, struggling to articulate the impossible. I braced myself for anger, for threats. Instead, an unsettling calm settled over him.
"That's interesting. What do you know about me?" The crimson eyes that I once adored now sparked with an intensity that filled me with dread.
"I know you tell jokes to diffuse tense situations. I know you received your Vision while reading a book on Sumerian law, before your appointment as General Mahamatra. And I know about Collei..." The words tumbled out in a rush.
"Is this game akin to Genius Invokation TCG?" he pressed, his mind already dissecting the information.
"Yes, in a way, but far more interactive..." I offered, struggling to find the right words.
"Hmm, could that be the reason for your divergence from the other 'mini humans'? Perhaps your immersion in this world through the game..." Cyno murmured, more to himself than to me, lost in a labyrinth of his own deductions.
Before I could even blink, Cyno's hand was upon me, scooping me up with the force of King Kong. I found myself staring up at him, my expression, I imagined, resembling that of a pouting kitten cradled in his massive grip.
"Give me some warning, will you? I'm not particularly fond of being manhandled..." I leveled him with a look that could only be described as utterly done.
"Mao, I assure you, no harm is intended. We simply must be on our way..." He then proceeded to deposit me, once again, upon his shoulder. I felt like a brightly colored parrot perched there, surveying the room. He reached for a jar on his desk, the lid unscrewing to reveal some sort of almond-coated treat. Chocolate, I presumed. He offered it to me, and of course, it felt enormous in my hands. I devoured it.
"Mao, you eat like a boar piglet..." A chuckle rumbled from his chest.
A blush crept across my face. Why was this man constantly comparing me to a piglet? It was the second time now!
"I do not!" I protested, perhaps a little too vehemently. I hadn't even realized I'd finished the treat so quickly. He offered me another. I also didn't realize how ridiculous I looked.
"You do. Though, I suppose it makes sense, in a way." Cyno seemed to be thinking aloud, more to himself than to me.
"The Traveler has a floating companion, bigger than you but smaller than a child, who possesses an enormous appetite. Perhaps it's your size, coupled with your intelligence, that drives you to eat more..."
The realization dawned on me. He was talking about Paimon. He offered me another almond, and I froze as his large finger gently patted the top of my head. A wave of conflicting emotions washed over me: embarrassment, anger, a strange sense of humility, a flicker of… pleasure? And underlying it all, a distinct anxiety. It hit me like a bolt of lightning: did he see me as another Paimon? Another almond, another head pat. Oh, I was a Paimon to him—a cute, adorable, albeit slightly annoying companion with an insatiable appetite. I glared at him, my annoyance palpable. I could practically see the thought bubble forming above his head: "Adorable, like a piglet."
High up on Cyno's shoulder, I felt like some strange, miniature parrot—a Paimon-esque creature under observation. I was doll-sized, perched upon the shoulder of my favorite character, being hand-fed almonds. It struck me then: did others yearn for their own Paimon? After all, the Traveler had journeyed to the farthest reaches of Teyvat, accompanied by the tiny companion. Perhaps that was the driving force behind the booming "Mini Human" market. But such thoughts were far from my mind as Cyno strode down the hall, my attention consumed by the almonds I munched on.
A confession: my pride stung a little. I was, by all accounts, average. In my daydreams of being Isekai'd, I always envisioned myself as the female lead, the center of attention. Back on Earth, I often felt like a background character in my own life. And now, here in Teyvat, the world of my beloved game, I was merely a tag-along. Not the heroine, not even a significant player—just a tiny sidekick.
As we delved further into the Akademiya, the familiar sight of the House of Daena came into view. A wave of awe replaced my earlier apprehension. This was the place where I had spent countless hours in the game, getting lost in the intricate library and longing to experience it in person. And now, here I was, although my current situation as a miniature version of myself clinging to Cyno's shoulder was difficult to overlook.
"You seem to be enjoying yourself," Cyno's deep voice rumbled, interrupting my thoughts. He gently patted my head, his finger feeling enormous.
"I am not! Stop petting my head!" My high-pitched, indignant voice echoed in the vast space. I clutched his cloak even tighter with my injured hand.
"Hmm?" He raised an eyebrow, his expression unreadable. "Mao, you seem to be enjoying it," Cyno repeated, his face stoic and serious. Was he really that oblivious? Another almond appeared, an offering as if food could buy my cooperation. Sadly, it often did. With a resigned sigh, I raised the comically large almond to my mouth.
"I am not..." I mumbled, taking a bite of the almond. "Stupid giant Cyno, stupid almond, stupid head pat," I thought to myself.
"Why are you pouting, Mao?" he asked, tilting his head slightly.
"I'm not!" I retorted, probably sounding just like Paimon.
The earlier integration with Cyno had been intense, and Dori's name inevitably came up. I couldn't help but throw her under the bus, exposing her "Mini humans" operation—the one dealing with humans from Earth, like my friends and I. But that was then, and this is now.
We found ourselves in the House of Daena. I sat on Cyno's shoulder, feeling like a tiny, inquisitive parrot.
"What brings us here?" I asked, genuinely curious.
"I need to wait for something..." He eventually set me down on a table. Being so small was incredibly frustrating; a mountain of books towered over me. Why the secrecy? Couldn't he just tell me what was going on? I glared at him, only to receive another head pat in return.
I held back my questions. What were we waiting for, exactly? Just then, I saw him retrieving what I assumed were his Caskets of Tomes. In the game's lore, these card boxes were created by Sumeru Akademiya researchers and had a special mechanism for detecting others nearby who also possessed Caskets of Tomes.
I enjoyed the Genius Invokation TCG in Genshin Impact, but I was quickly learning that reality didn't perfectly reflect the game. The cards were half my size!
"Do you know how to play Genius Invokation TCG, Mao?"
Now I was completely baffled.
"In theory..."
He started explaining the game to me, but it was obvious he was multitasking; his attention was divided. He was watching someone, or something, else.
Perched on a thick volume, I felt utterly insignificant amidst the towering stacks of books that surrounded me. Before me, spread across the table, were the Genius Invokation TCG cards. They seemed larger than life, each one a miniature portal into the game's sprawling world. The characters depicted on the cards appeared almost holographic, shimmering like ethereal projections above the playing surface.
The selection of characters immortalized on these cards was a curious one, primarily reserved for figures of historical significance and those actively shaping society. It was why Cyno, Kaveh, and Tighnari had their own cards, their images gleaming under the soft light, while Sethos, Alhaitham, Dehya, and Collei remained absent. It was a stark contrast to the game I knew.
Cyno seemed to be juggling a multitude of tasks within the confines of his mind, his expression an unreadable mask. Even when the event he'd clearly been anticipating finally unfolded, he remained seated, betraying no outward sign of surprise or satisfaction. Once our game reached its conclusion, he abruptly scooped me up, depositing me unceremoniously into the depths of his cloak pocket.
Cyno conversation with Mao proved to be a treasure trove of information, particularly regarding her earlier circumstances. She recounted detailed observations of various individuals, painting vivid pictures with her words. One person, in particular, caught my attention: Cyno's observation of a scholar near the Akademiya. According Cyno had witnessed this scholar exchanging what appeared to be a coded note with another, hinting at Dori's network of informants embedded within the very walls of the Akademiya. Cyno's actions were so subtle, so expertly masked, that many believed he was too engrossed in our Genius Invokation TCG match to notice the clandestine exchange. But of course, nothing escapes Cyno's watchful gaze. Shortly after relaying this information, Mao, too, found herself scooped up and deposited into Cyno's pocket.
Once more, I was desperately clinging to the inside of Cyno's pocket. The constant bumping was almost unbearable. Was he engaged in another fight?
"Ugh!" The abrupt movements made my stomach churn. I was thrown around like a rag doll, screaming and struggling to hold on.
Through the thick material, I could hear his voice, loud and muffled.
"What information do you have regarding the black market for mini-humans? I am aware of who your superior is..." His voice was cold, leaving no room for argument or excuses. "There's no point in lying."
He sounded absolutely frightening. Then, in one fluid motion, he pulled me out of his pocket. By this point, I was almost used to being held up like this. The sudden exposure to the bright sunlight was nearly blinding.
I blinked, trying to adjust my vision as I realized Cyno had some unfortunate person pinned against a wall with one hand, while I dangled precariously from the other.
"Do you recognize her?" Cyno's firm grip was the only thing preventing me from falling, but I trusted him completely not to drop me.
"Take a close look..." He held me up, presenting me to the scholar's face.
"It's a mini; they all appear the same..." the scholar stuttered, although I noticed a hint of recognition in his eyes.
"That's rude..." I gave him a look that clearly said, "I'm so over this." I didn't expect his reaction; he screamed.
"It's talking! It's talking..." the scholar yelled, clearly bewildered. Apparently, according to the Akademiya, earthlings – their creative name for "mini-humans" or "minis" – weren't supposed to be able to speak and only had the intelligence of a cat or dog.
"What's wrong with it? Is this an abnormal...?"
"No, she isn't..." Cyno's presence alone was enough to easily intimidate the scholar. I was simply there for the ride, a prop in his interrogation. Before long, Cyno had gotten the information he needed and placed the scholar under arrest.
Once more, I found myself perched on Cyno's broad shoulder, feeling like a brightly colored parrot. He released the scholar he'd been holding to the waiting Matra, his expression hardening.
"We have much to do, Mao..." His voice, usually so measured, now carried a weight that made my non-existent stomach clench. I hated this diminutive form, this feeling of being a mere doll. I was not a child, despite the way he treated me. Another head pat, delivered with the force of his massive finger, only amplified my frustration.
"Can you please explain to me what's going on?" I demanded, glaring up at him with all the ferocity I could muster.
"We are going to get to the bottom of this," he declared, his gaze fixed on some distant point. "Clearly, you are the normal one in this equation. There is something deeply amiss when others of your kind arrive in this world... We are going to hold those responsible accountable. It simply isn't right to enslave an entire group of people for the sake of companionship... Especially when they are rendered unable to speak for themselves."
The realization washed over me then: I was now an unwitting participant in Cyno's personal quest for justice. Another head pat landed, and I could see he genuinely believed I enjoyed them. I didn't have the heart to correct him. A weary part of me screamed that I'd had enough adventure, that I just wanted to wake up from this bizarre nightmare. But deep down, I knew I no longer had a choice in the matter. My fate was intertwined with his.
"So, what now?" I asked, the question hanging in the air.
"We'll go undercover..." Cyno stated, a glint of determination in his eyes as if he had a fully formed plan already brewing. Undercover? That didn't seem like his usual style. He looked incredibly resolute, a man on a mission.
To be continued, maybe......

boob windows. that's it that's the fic
word count: 1.1K content warnings: this is meant to be yandere au and sagau/self aware au so uh. hint of that, but mostly just crack. nothing Super Nsfw but the whole thing is raunchy and suggestive humour
characters included: mostly ei, but childe, kaeya and briefly zhongli also make an appearance with some others mentioned
a/n: this is a repost (slightly edited)! this was on my to-edit-&-repost list for a while now and this seemed like a good day to do so lol. alas this was originally written before the sumeru release so while editing there wasn't really an opportunity for me to add in wriothesley apparently out-butting zhongli or lyney's tigh high garters and i only just realised kaveh could technically also count here so uh. forgive me. i'll write something for them some day
Tumblr media
"is… is everything alright, your grace?"
you loudly suck up another boba pearl, not moving your gaze from where it’s been lodged the past several minutes. "mm, everything’s fine."
ei fidgets in front of you, the cup held tightly in her hands still almost full. she looks unsure, but decides that she knows better than to question you. "if you say so."
it’s clear this isn’t what she had in mind when she personally came to see you instead of sending the raiden shōgun to greet and attend to you. the one time she comes out of her plane, all you’re seemingly doing is ignoring all table manners and gawking at her chest.
yes, that’s right, you’re ogling her chest. or, more accurately, you’re ogling her tiddy window.
between her and kaeya, she’s showing off much more chest. but then kaeya knows what he’s doing, while ei just seems to have it there for convenience over aesthetic…
you squint at her while you get lost in thoughts, and ei’s fidgeting intensifies.
ah shit. you forgot about itto. he wins in terms of who shows off their chest the most, you guess. he’s even wearing that… you’re not sure what to call it but tit belt fits well enough. anyway, the tit belt accentuates his pecs very, very nicely, although they do hide his nips from sight. alas.
you suppose gorou and cyno also exist, but they don’t have the same appeal. oh, and navia and la signora, but both of them are just wearing a sleeveless, collarless dress, so you’re not sure that counts either.
but then by that argument, does itto count? he’s not even wearing a shirt. cyno isn’t wearing a shirt either. and what gorou has is more of a tummy window than anything… but he does have that little window?
between gorou and childe, gorou is definitely winning though. you’d apologise for slandering your poor ajax but between the little triangle he shows off and gorou’s entire tummy out… you’re not sorry. though… there’s something to be said about a small slither of skin inviting you to stick your hands into that gorou having his whole tummy out doesn’t have.
wait, wait. you just had a genius idea. actually, two.
first of all, zhongli with a tiddy window… you are considering. then again, you guess his biggest asset is his bubble butt.
second, and way bigger: an idol group with some of your characters… but they all have tiddy windows.
"…your grace?"
you’re brought out of your stupor by ei, who is gazing in concern at you. you blink at her.
she struggles to find words. "are… are you sure everything is alright? is something not to your liking?"
it’s then that you realise you’ve started drooling at some point. shit.
you hurriedly wipe at it and clear your throat. "yeah, I’m sure. sorry, were you saying anything?"
she looks taken aback. "no, please don’t apologise. I should be the one to… I shouldn’t have interrupted your thinking."
it’s then that childe happens to walk by, and, like the attention hog he is, tries to get a foot into the conversation. you stay mostly unresponsive while the two chat (which seems to be mostly childe trying to hold a conversation with you while ei admonishes him), your eyes drifting back to ei’s tiddy window.
you really could stare at that for the rest of your life.
childe then follows your line of sight and chokes.
…though more because of him trying to laugh while choking on the dango he was eating than embarrassment at having caught onto your very appropriate thoughts.
ei looks confused but makes no move to help him other than pushing his head away from the table so he doesn’t make a mess. you honestly can’t bring yourself to be embarrassed.
he finally manages to swallow properly (you almost want to pat him on the back and praise him for swallowing like a good boy) before turning to you.
"do you want me to strip? my chest looks much nicer, I assure you."
you and ei stare at him.
he raises his eyebrows, pointing at her. "her skin looks way too soft and pampered." she looks almost offended. "mine’s covered in scars and I have actual muscles, doesn’t that feel much better for fondling?"
"what if…" you lean closer to him mischievously, like you’re about to tell him some big secret. "I prefer soft chests?"
he deflates. ei flushes, ducking her head into her still-near-full cup of bubble tea. "well, if that’s what you prefer… I can’t get rid of the scars, but I can stop working out. hmm…" he looks like he’s starting to make serious plans.
"no, I honestly don’t really care. all tiddy is good tiddy." you clap your hands. "anyway! it’s more about the boob window. you already have a (sad) tummy window, so it wouldn’t work."
"why not? wouldn’t that be double the sexy?"
"no, it cancels out."
you’re going to ignore whatever gorou has going on, because that works pretty well.
ei looks unfathomably lost.
"and anyway, if we’re talking about tummy windows, gorou wins."
he deflates further.
then he perks up.
"what about…" he brings his fingers to his face. you think it’s an attempt at looking cool. "butt window?"
you deadpan. "have fun getting arrested for public indecency."
he winks at you. "I wouldn’t mind getting arrested if you’re the one punishing me."
you have to physically hold the electro archon back.
"why, I wasn’t expecting to run into any of you here. what are you three up to?" kaeya’s voice cuts through ei’s snarls all of a sudden. he seems amused, but there’s an edge in the way he eyes childe.
"I am definitely sexier than any archon or soldier," childe says at the exact same time that you say "we’re discussing tiddy windows."
kaeya lets out something between a snort and a chuckle. it’s a pretty sound, but you can’t let yourself be distracted by him. he knows what he’s doing.
"oh? in that department, don’t I win?"
you stare intently at his.
"do you want to touch?"
you move your stare to his face. "am I allowed to?"
he smiles, mirth in his eye. "you needn’t ask. all of me belongs to you, and that includes my chest."
you seriously consider it and childe takes the opportunity to shove himself between the two of you.
"wait, wait! I offered first! ignore him, I’m right here!" "your grace," ei cuts in, "if you’d like to, I don’t mind you touching any part of me."
"ugh, fine, fine! I’ll just sample all of you then. if you’re sure you’re okay with it."
zhongli, somehow, picks the absolute worst moment to walk in.
the look on his face is priceless (you can’t tell if he looks offended or jealous), but even that doesn’t compare to the feeling of soft tiddy in your hands.
you were right, tiddy windows really are the best.

Scaramouche x fem!Reader smau. masterlist.
prev. | PART IX. - almost. | next.
in which silence is good and bad at the same time.. (written part).
Much to your surprise, by the time you got ready after agreeing to take a walk with Kunikuzushi, he was already outside of your apartment's door. The streets were dimly lit, but it wasn't hard to notice his puffy, red eyes under the streetlights. There was never silence between you two - you usually kept the convo going with whatever was on your mind. However, this time around you knew he didn't need that right now. He simpy needed someone to be silent with; someone to keep him grounded while he lets the soft wind sort his thoughts for him.
You walked in a lazy pace on the route you took the first time you hung out. The park you stopped at was one you visited countless times before during your previous years at the Akademiya, but being there with Kuni in such a comfortable silence it felt so different, it would be hard to explain. Sitting side by side on the swings, both of you gently pushing yourselves back and forth while countless thoughts occupy both of your minds.
It wasn't until your phone lit up in your hand, a text notification appearing on your screen. You took a glance at Kuni, who seemed to be too lost in thought to even notice. You took a second to open and read the messages you've recieved.
Tumblr media
A serious message from Ajax? Surely a "once in a blue moon" experience.
You thought for a second. Issuing a call in such a serene moment would be so disrespectful, no? He probably wants to talk about something regarding the duo stream on sunday, that can probably wait a few hours.
Tumblr media
His short response gave your heart a light squeeze. It was never your intention to hurt his feelings, but sometimes it was hard to tell if he's being serious or not. It's really just about the stream.. right?
"That message you got must be interesting. You look so distressed." Kuni's voice was quiet as he spoke. The tears he likely shed a while ago were still straining his throat.
"Oh, just one of my friends asking me where I am. Nothing to worry about."
He nodded in response, his feet slowly dangling in the air below him. He was looking at the full moon above the park, perfectly visible - its reflection in his eyes serving as a spotlight to give a clear view of his uncried tears. It felt like such a perfect moment to say something. To ask what happened, to tell him it's okay, but nothing left your mouth.
"Sumeru is great, I like it so far." He spoke before you could. Despite the comical timing to say this, it sounded genuine.
"I'm glad you do! You being here is great as well." You shot him a sweet smile, an innocent, unsuspecting one.
He wanted to tell you, he wanted to tell you everything on his mind. How his best friend was right. How he fell in love with you after the first day, how he got attached so quickly he never spent a single break in uni without you solely because of it. How his mother never loved him, never spent time with him, gods, she never even LOOKED at him. And when he saw the way you smile at him so effortlessly, how natural it is for you to be kind to him, to guide and help him, he immediately felt the bleeding hole on his heart starting to heal. But at the end of the day it was all a dirty, pitiful excuse in his head.
So maybe silence is the best choice for now.

I have idea again
So I was browsing Helldivers 2 (for whatever reason) and then I saw this dude, the Automaton Trooper:
Tumblr media
So I thought 'put him in SAGAU' (as usual of me) after thinking of this cyberpunk SAGAU post courtesy of @thegnomelord
But then I also remembered that Sandrone, a woman and Fatui Harbinger highly focused on machines, exists as well
Tumblr media
So then I thought 'have them meet up lmfao' which is exactly what this post is for
And without further rambling, enjoy!
Reader is gender neutral (but highly implied to be male in their mannerisms)
Warning: Not totally based on Helldivers 2's lore: some aspects of Automatons may be changed, modified, or even made up here; bleeding (though not human); mentions of violence; Sandrone only shows up in the second half of the story lmfao; my interpretation of Sandrone; definitely ooc (out of character) in some parts
(Banner below is by me; if anyone wants to use it in any way, shape or form, just go ahead)
Tumblr media
Ever since Teyvat's beginning, no one, not even the oldest of gods, knows what you, the Creator and the Divine Grace, look like.
As such, throughout history, humanity conceived several interpretations of your appearance, with some building on each other and others opting for their own path.
Most interpretations have been lost to time, but thankfully some archaeology allowed people of the current day to compare and contrast their interpretations with those of the past.
For example, Decarabian interpreted you as not bearing a human body, but rather presented yourself through a golden tornado capable of simultaneously creating and destroying within your walls of wind.
Ever since his death, Barbatos has conceived your appearance not as a tornado, but as a benevolent, gentle gale soothing the land and bringing dandelion seeds to new areas to take root and flourish. He believes that without your help, Mondstadt would never have been as free as it is today.
The people of Mondstadt regard you as a holy figure and many bring you daily offerings. However, even if someone didn't, that's okay; everyone believes you love everyone regardless of their offerings or belief in you. Thus, even with the Church of Mondstadt, the nation of wind and freedom is the least fanatical nation of the seven.
In Liyue, most interpretations regard you as a tall, indomitable humanoid giant, larger than even the geo dragon Azhdaha. Morax himself believed that the towering frame helped you protect Teyvat from other malicious entities seeking to destroy it, and when your form finally died after enough protection you gave birth to the other gods and seeded the earth with resources fit for humanity's development. The people in Liyue Harbor prove their worth to you not through offerings (though they are definitely welcome to), but rather their labor.
Those living in the Land of Eternity believed you to have manifested yourself as a pair of conjoined Sakura trees. Regardless of the weather conditions, changing landscape, or even the sands of time sifting away, you never once shed a leaf. No one truly understands why you were two trees conjoined into one, but many believe they represented the two sides of an infinity symbol. However, the Raiden Shogun knows that deep in her heart, it symbolizes her and her sister. When she grieves for her other half, she thinks of you to console herself.
Sumeru went further: they believed you didn't bear a form altogether; instead, you were the rainforest entirely, believed to have nursed Greater Lord Rukkhadevata in her early years. This reason alone incentivizes many in the nation of wisdom to take great care to preserve your natural wealth for generations. It is, unfortunately, for this same reason that the Akademiya believe that the deserts are lands you severed from yourself and are thus negligible to them. However, desert-dwelling individuals such as the Eremites and those living in Aaru Village think otherwise, as they surely would not have thrived without your help.
And the interpretations continue: Fontaine believes you to be a large, whale-like creature gently swimming through the waters. Natlan believed you to be a dragon capable of defeating even the mightiest of gods in one fell bite. Snezhnaya believed you to be the blizzards and snowstorms that kept out invaders during its early years.
Even Khaenri'ah, the godless nation, respected you even if they didn't worship you. They believed that being the god of Teyvat may have been tiring, and they would allow you to retreat to their safe space should godly duties tire you.
However, no matter the interpretation, there were common attributes to all of them:
You had some form of special blood; commonly this was said to be golden ichor, but some also depicted it akin to a miniature night sky bleeding from you every time you were injured.
You were the definition of benevolent and caring: your personality was attributed to being graceful and gentle, with a voice that would honey even the most malicious entities in Teyvat.
You had an alternate form you would utilize to better communicate with mortals, that being a magnificent mortal body with skin and contours softer than the cumulous clouds that dotted the sky in fair weather. It's believed that should you ever descend to Teyvat, it would be in this form.
A single glance into your eyes allows anyone to recognize you as the Creator.
Thus, when scientists from all over the land gathered together and procured a machine capable of bringing you to Teyvat, the news filled everyone with ecstatic glee. It was believed that they could get you to manually descend at midnight when energy relating to you peaked with the beginning of a new day. Allogenes everywhere headed to the temple sitting in the middle of the continent, seeking to get a glimpse of your elegant form...
...They didn't realize that you would subvert all of their expectations.
Tumblr media
One moment, you were sitting down playing your favorite open-world role-playing game known as "Genshin Impact" thanks to your augmented processing nexus.
The next moment, you suddenly received repeated errors saying "Welcome back Your Grace! We missed you!" and then your systems suddenly and completely shut down after the seventh error.
So right now, you're just locked on a blue screen of death with a loading bar showing you the progression of the system reboots your body needed to function normally again.
Although you did get warnings saying that there may be malicious code to automatons due to it being owned by humans currently living on Super Earth, no human-conceived error could ever "miss" you...
Also "Your Grace?" Does this somehow tie into those obscure "SAGAU" fanfictions you've also managed to read?
But maybe you'll save those thoughts for later, since the reboot's almost finished.

WELCOME BACK AUTOMATON #117 GLORY TO CYBERSTAN
Now, you could see and hear again. And the first things you noticed was that you were placed in a lying-down position and that you were likely on an elevated pedestal or platform of sorts.
The roof wasn't anything you've seen at all; a mural of a sun, moon, and other various strange objects you've never seen splayed over what you scanned out to be rock.
And then you heard human voices. Not the voices of your fellow automaton troopers, but humans. The same kind your kin are enemies with.
Panicked, you quickly lay up and aimed your blaster at them, with the strange humans putting up their arms in response.
...Wait, these aren't Helldivers. Or even any Super Earth civilian, for that matter.
You took a glance at their outfits and then it hit you: these are the same characters that you met and played as in Genshin Impact.
You looked at the ones in front of you before lowering your blaster.
"...AH, THE ARCHONS OF MONDSTADT, LIYUE, INAZUMA, SUMERU, FONTAINE, AND NATLAN. WHAT ARE YOU SIX DOING HERE? WHERE AM I?"
Your jarring, mechanical voice stole the wind from everyone in the room. The six stared at you, with them contemplating how they should approach this. "Um, we have expected your return for a while, Your Grace..." Zhongli said, before trailing off awkwardly.
However, that statement was all you needed for your CPU to process that you were likely in a SAGAU situation.
"I SEE. TELL ME, MORAX. WHAT COMMON ATTRIBUTES DO I HAVE THAT SIGNIFY ME AS THE CREATOR?"
Everyone collectively gasped at the bombshell you so nonchalantly dropped, but Zhongli continued. "You... bleed a special kind of blood."
"THEN LET ME SEE FOR MYSELF. DOES ANYONE HAVE A BLADE I MAY USE?"
Although everyone hesitated a little with your seemingly random request, a green-haired girl with glasses who you recognized as Sucrose AKA the Harmless Sweetie handed you a small dagger. You took it with your left hand and stabbed your right arm, evincing another gasp from the crowd.
You specifically stabbed a part where you had a fuel cord. You were an older hybrid model, utilizing both oil and a battery. As expected, the blackish liquid dripped out of the cut... but then as it splayed onto the floor, small particles of glitter and swirls of purple and blue spontaneously formed in the drops.
Curious, you placed the dagger down on the pedestal you laid on and got off, swirling the abnormal oil you apparently contained to form a puddle. In this puddle some particles of glitter combined into bigger chunks and glowed brighter than before, resembling miniature stars in a small chunk of the universe.
"INTERESTING... DOES THIS PROVE THAT I AM THE CREATOR?"
"...I guess so," Venti said with a relatively lax tone, and Nahida nodded along. You stood back up and stared at the six.
"THEN SHOW ME THE WORLD YOU INHERITED IN MY ABSENCE."
Tumblr media
It's been three days and within the span of them, you have visited all six nations.
And also scared the fuck out of every single local you've witnessed.
You can't blame them though; compared to their human forms, your steel frame looked highly skeletal. The sharp, defining edges of your physique alongside your bloodshot-red eyes and skull-like face scared children and their parents alike. Your blaster didn't help either.
Mondstadt was peaceful. Although your appearance scared some, they were reassured after local animals and pets went up to you and you gently gave them headpats even if a little awkward (you were a combat robot after all)
This didn't stop you from feeling out of touch though; being a machine, you aren't really capable of eating anything which saddened a few, and your alien nature made it difficult for you to do anything without an air of awkwardness.
The vision wielders were a fun cast though. Amber wanted to see how acrobatic your metal body was compared to hers, and you demonstrated by sprinting across Mondstadt while performing abnormal jumps that would normally damage a human's legs upon landing.
Albedo and Sucrose wanted to experiment on you, but you politely declined to have your insides taken out by alchemists who may not necessarily understand machines all too well.
Lisa called you her cutie and wanted you to work for her. You politely declined but said that you'd consider her offer. You helped Jean with some of her work after you processed the (relatively) simple nature of it.
Oh and Klee wondered if you had explosives on you. You told her that you didn't, but other machines in your world did.
"YOU SEE, CHILD, THERE IS A TYPE OF MACHINE I SERVE ALONGSIDE KNOWN AS A DEVASTATOR."
"Does it have explosives?!" She asked with a smile so radiant it would turn Cyberstan into a melty ocean with how warm it was.
"SOME DEVASTATORS MOUNT HIGH-EXPLOSIVE ROCKET LAUNCHERS ON THEIR SHOULDERS AND FIRE THEIR ORDNANCE IN FOUR-ROUND SALVOS."
"I wanna see one!!!" And then Jean came by.
"KLEE NO-" -Jean after hearing the shit you've been feeding to the explosive child
Moving onto Liyue, the nation was busy in terms of labor. Their focus on business reminded you of the Automaton fabricators in terms of orderliness, except at least these people had lives greater than most of your comrades, which was to shoot at anything Super Earth-related and die while trying.
Likewise in Mondstadt, you scared the locals and then the local animals decided to approach you and now everyone's happy. Unfortunately, you still felt out of touch. Your incapability of eating anything especially disappointed Xiangling, a renowned chef. However, you did get along with Xinyan, who you could relate to in how you didn't exactly fit in.
Your favorite person was Beidou, though. When you saw her at the docks, she challenged you to arm-wrestling. She managed to win against you, though that wasn't exactly surprising considering her definite muscular nature that radiated dominance. You vowed to win against her someday before the two of you laughed and shook hands.
Inazuma was jarring. To you, it felt like nature overtook the human landscape a little bit more than Liyue, only further exemplifying your detachment from nature. However, Ei was rather elegant in introducing you to her nation alongside Kujou Sara which relaxed you a little.
You also found Arataki Itto and how Kuki Shinobu needed to keep him in check funny.
And just when you thought Inazuma was strange to you, Sumeru was worse. You are an automaton trooper and Sumeru is effectively a rainforest. You two (unfortunately, because Sumeru looked so cool when you played Genshin Impact as a game) did not mix well.
You still hung out with the vision wielders though. The Akademiya wanted to study you, with Faruzan especially marveling at your more rugged design compared to the more intricate Sumeru machines.
The Aranara were goofy little creatures who you hung out with as well as Nahida, understanding and empathizing with your struggles with humans.
When she slipped out the fact that Azar, the Grand Sage of the Akademiya, had her imprisoned for 500 years, you were incredibly pissed. Nahida had to calm you down to stop you from going on a rampage against Azar
Fontaine was slightly better with the fact that it had more technology interwoven with its society. You were especially curious at the Meks, remaking how they looked like you but with a fancier undertone to them. Then again, though, you were no law enforcement unit; you were a war machine through and through.
Furina didn't really care about your mechanical status though, she immediately dragged you to watch a show with her at the Opera Epiclese. It was definitely a one-of-a-kind experience, considering that it was the first time you truly got a sight of things beyond the game world of Genshin.
Meanwhile, Navia's personality caught you off-guard, cheerfully and cluelessly saying that she doesn't care that you looked like a "strange, brutish character" wow Navia very nice descriptors. During a stroll, you also met Clorinde, Wriothesley, and Neuvillette with her at the same time, and the discussions were pleasant (if not a little bit confusing for you to understand considering that they were discussing things not mentioned in Genshin, mostly law-related).
And then Natlan was interesting, for ironically enough despite their title being the "nation of war" they seemed to have a lot of fun pastimes to do as well (why does Chasca ride on a huge revolver though). Their methods of war actually made you jealous; they had the Ode of Resurrection to possibly revive fallen heroes, while your kind lacked such luxury.
Actually when you talked to Kachina you disturbed her.
"Um, if I may ask, how do you fight in your world, Your Grace?" Kachina asked curiously and cautiously.
"ME AND MY COMRADES SPRAY A CRAP TON OF LASERS AGAINST OUR ENEMIES AND PRAY TO GOD THE F#####S WON'T KILL US WITH AN ORBITAL STRIKE."
(You had your censor module on, don't wanna scar little Kachina after all).
"That sounds unwise though..." she said, her ears drooping a little and voice deadpanning a bit.
"I AM LITERALLY A DISPOSABLE FOOT SOLDIER IN MY WORLD. CAPABLE OF BEING REPLACED IN SECONDS SHOULD I FALL IN COMBAT."
For a moment, Kachina stopped working before she stared at you as if you were mad. Then, she barreled into your legs and tightly clung onto you while looking up at you with a pleading expression.
"Your Grace you're not disposable! Not to us at least!!"
You hesitated for a response; when you weren't playing Genshin Impact you were constantly following orders and shooting at Helldivers. It's a miracle you never sustained injuries that tore off any vital systems, especially considering that you're still an older model. Having someone care for you was jarring considering your easily disposable nature.
"...THANK YOU."
Tumblr media
You still have one nation to visit now: Snezhnaya.
Judging by how every other nation responds to them, they have a relatively negative reputation considering how they utilize their diplomatic and militaristic force, the Fatui, to meet their demands via force.
That didn't concern you at all, for you have basically witnessed worse in your life *cough cough* Orbital strikes *cough cough* Eagle bombers *cough cough cough* and as such this should be no matter.
What intrigued you, however, was that there was a letter personally addressed to you by one of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers. Specifically, the Seventh harbinger Sandrone, the one with an affinity and skill towards machines. She also lacked any in-game mentions.
Your Grace,
According to Fatui soldiers, apparently, you are not as the sayings and scriptures have described you, but rather instead you are a mechanical being like Fontaine's Meks and Khaenri'ah's Ruin machines.
If I may so kindly request of you, would you perhaps visit me in Snezhnaya? I want to see you in person. Apparently, you look nothing like the machines I described above, which intrigues me even more.
I want to see what truly makes you tick, I want to examine how you process your surroundings, and I want to see what weapons, if any, you carry to battle.
I will try to say no more for I do not wish to wear you down with a lot of reading. And don't worry- although I may not be patient with my own subordinates, I understand that you may have other godly duties you need to tend to.
Ah, that last paragraph was another tangent, wasn't it? I'll make this quick. If you find a Fatui, show them this letter and they'll work out the rest. Alright, I'll stop here. I'll wait for you, okay?
~ Sandrone
That's how you found yourself trekking alone through the cold forests of Snezhnaya, reminding you vaguely of a forested version of Cyberstan. You specifically asked for no one to accompany you, for Sandrone likely won't take too kindly to others.
Your marches are slow and methodical, and you vocalize a familiar chant to pass the time:
"HEART. STEEL." "WE. KILL." "BACK. UP." "UN-TO DAWN!"
Normally, you would be striding with an entire battalion of troopers, mixed in with melee brawlers and berserkers as well as Commissars and Devastators with Hulks sometimes acting as imposing heavy mechs. However, you were alone, with no one to kill and all the time in the world with your thoughts.
"HEART. STEEL." "WE. KILL." "BACK. UP." "UN-TO DAWN!"
The animals, which appeared to be mystified moose and deer followed your chanting and marching form, almost synchronizing themselves with your movements in a manner you found amusing (in a good way though).
"CYBER-STAN!" "CAN'T KEEP HER DOWN!" "LE-GION GO!" "UN-TO DAWN!"
Despite the lack of your automaton comrades, you were content with the local wildlife marching alongside you instead.
"CYBER-STAN!" "CAN'T KEEP HER DOWN!" "LE-GION GO!" "UN-TO DAWN!"
Your marching and chanting went on for quite a while until you saw two pyroslinger Fatui agents with rifles seemingly on patrol and the animals dispersed back into the thickets of trees. Upon seeing you, the first one aimed his rifle but the second stopped him.
"Don't shoot him, idiot! That's Their Grace!"
The first pyroslinger looked back at you, and after looking into your eyes he immediately recognized you as the Creator of Teyvat.
"Oh my god- I am so sorry Your Grace please forgive me!" He said, but you merely laughed in response.
"NO NEED TO APOLOGIZE. I KNOW I LOOK RATHER STRANGE, HUMANS, BUT I GUESS I'M SPECIAL!"
"..."
The three of you chuckled at that statement before you showed them the letter Sandrone sent to you.
The first pyroslinger scrutinized the letter. "Ooh... the Marionette wants to meet with you personally? It's not every day that someone gets that honor."
"DOES SHE PERHAPS A REPUTATION AMONG THE FATUI?"
The second pyroslinger nodded. "She normally just spends all of her time in Zapolyarny Palace's workshop or one of her other private workshops in Snezhnaya..."
"But judging by this tone, she seems to like you already judging by your mechanical form. You'll be fine, Your Grace."
"Alright now that that's over with can we appreciate your gun??" The first pyroslinger quipped. "It looks so freaking cool!!!"
"AH. IT SEEMS YOU ARE INTRIGED BY MY BLASTER. I WILL TELL YOU ALL ABOUT IT AS WE PROCEED ONWARDS."
And so you did; you told them how your gun worked, the type of projectiles it fired, how it simply charged up for you to use again without the need for reloading, etc.
Eventually, you three reached a massive palace with the appearance that ice comprised every facet of its construction.
"Welcome to Zapolyarny Palace, Your Grace," the two pyroslingers said before they talked with the guards and let you through the gates. The two riflemen opened two double doors leading to the palace's interior. Inside was a spacious lobby with various hallways and staircases.
"You think the Marionette's in her workshop again?"
"Most likely."
After a bit more walking through the rather large palace from what you can deduce (for all you know it might be even more spacious than a Factory Strider), the three of you ended your little journey at a large, mechanical door that broke up the icy blue aesthetic.
They pressed a doorbell on the right side of the door and a few moments later, the door opened a large, butler-like machine of sorts with a relatively quaint little woman on its right hand emerged.
"What do you two want-" she began before noticing you and her expression grew intrigued. "...Is this Their Grace that I've been hearing so much about?"
"Yes, Marionette. You wished to see them?"
Her expression grew a little apprehensive as she examined you before her expression brightened.
"...How delightful it is to meet you in person, Your Grace." She turned her head to the two that accompanied you and her expression turned stern again. "Now shoo, we have no need for you here anymore."
The two simply bowed a little and walked off. "GOODBYE!" You said and waved at them, your action reciprocated before the pyroslingers turned left and moved out of sight.
Turning back to face Sandrone, her smile widened. "I never expected you to be a machine, Your Grace, but this truly surprises and intrigues me. I'm the Marionette, Seventh of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers, but you may refer to me as Sandrone, as I wrote in my letter."
You nodded and she clasped her hands. "Head on in Your Grace, I can't wait to examine you..."
Tumblr media
The transition from ice to metal was jarring, to say the least. Various machines, their parts, and countless bits of metal surrounded the two of you, yet enough room remained for you and Sandrone's large robot to sufficiently navigate.
"You look so different from Khaenri'ah's ruin machines, Fontainian Mekas, or even any machine I've examined in my lifetime. I can't even connect you to any Snezhnayan automatons."
She said, as she hopped off her robot and took a close-up look at you.
"You look truly skeletal," Sandrone said before gasping a little. "N-Not as an insult of course! It's just that I'm positively intrigued that you appear capable of accomplishing so much with so little."
She kneeled down to examine your blaster. "And this gun looks nothing like any musket or rifle I know of. It looks more... brutish. Like it exists to truly get a job done."
"WOULD YOU LIKE A DEMONSTRATION?" You asked, eager to be able to shoot at something even if it's only for a test.
"You're willing to give one?" Sandrone asked and you nodded. "Oh, then follow me! I have a small target range for automatons with ranged attacks."
She hopped back on her giant robot and you followed its movements to a relatively large room with five targets.
Positioning to face the target behind the barrier, you aimed at the middle target before firing five shots without missing. However, you didn't reload, which Sandrone was confused at for a moment before you fired another five-round burst after around four seconds.
"THIS BLASTER IS POWERED BY LASERS. IT REQUIRES NO RELOADING, MERELY REQUIRING FOUR SECONDS TO ALLOW IT TO COOL DOWN."
Sandrone looked at your blaster again, smiling as you fired one last burst. "Fascinating. It reminds me of the rifles those pyroslingers utilize."
"THEN YOU MAY BE DISAPPOINTED TO KNOW THAT IT IS NOT THE MOST POWERFUL WEAPON I KNOW OF."
You further piqued Sandrone's interest, and she inquired you about other technology you've seen.
And so you gave. You told her how you are merely a foot soldier in the legions of Automatons that robotic factories churned out by the minute. How machines such as Devastators and Hulks may rival the machines found in Teyvat. And how many of you can be dropped in via rocket-powered airships if specialized Commissars called for reinforcements.
Sandrone listened intently- another oddity you found rather pleasant as a mere grunt. She didn't treat you as fodder, or bark orders at you, no. She listened with undivided attention, asking questions about you and your nature. Even if you couldn't answer a question on you being the apparent creator of Teyvat.
And then when she asked about your origins, you hesitated for a moment. You spared it from everyone else since you'd rather not trouble them with it, but here she was curious about you.
"ARE YOU SURE, SANDRONE? YOU MAY NOT LIKE THE INFORMATION I WILL REVEAL."
Sandrone then politely mentioned that you don't have to do so if you don't want to, but you relented.
You began with how the Cyborgs came to be when they endured the harsh conditions of the icy world later to be known as Cyberstan by setting up colonies, mines, and factories for a government known as Super Earth.
How they slowly tore away their human parts with mechanical ones.
How they aggressively broke off from Super Earth and weaponized themselves rapidly.
How they were enslaved when defeated and turned into forced laborers.
How they built you as one of many in the first batch of 1,000 automatons.
And how they planned their revenge in the shadows, waiting to destroy Super Earth for all they endured.
"I AM NO CREATOR IN MY ORIGINAL WORLD. I AM MERELY A COG IN A WAR MACHINE INTENDED TO DESTROY. SHOULD I FALL, ANOTHER WILL REPLACE ME."
Sandrone merely looked at you with a concerned expression, before nodding. You could tell she felt a little sorry for you though.
"BUT THAT'S ENOUGH ABOUT ME. MAY I INQUIRE ABOUT ANYTHING THAT DESCRIBES YOU?"
Tumblr media
According to her, Sandrone is a machine addict (easy to tell honestly), a loner (which you typically are when not going to war), but most interestingly a marionettist.
"When I'm not usually working on my machines or attending any Harbinger meetings or whatnot, I like to manipulate the marionettes I own." She said, smiling and leading you over to a closet.
As she slowly and gently opened the doors, they creaked heartily and revealed five shelves of intricately designed marionettes.
Although you know what marionettes are (the Automaton database is remarkably up-to-date despite your barren design), you only ever saw them through images or videos via archival searches. Yet you could consider the marionettes Sandrone owned to boast some of the finest craftsmanship you've ever seen from a human.
You counted around fifteen of them, with three on each shelf except for the first one as it had two models of a Khaenri'ahn Ruin Guard and Ruin Drake (they looked really large). The second shelf contained humanoid Fontainian meka, the third contained two deer and a wolf, the fourth three mermaids with tails each a differing shade of blue, and the last held three ballerinas with long ponytails in meticulously jeweled tutus and bodice.
"YOU MUST HAVE TAKEN A GREAT DEAL OF TIME CRAFTING THEM." You asked, and her expression brightened.
"I make sure to make no mistakes in crafting them. I've been interested in them ever since I was a little girl, but never really had the time to truly get hands-on with them until now..."
Then, you noticed that her mind appeared to wander off somewhere, and then she asked you this:
"Do you want to see me perhaps, puppeteer one of them for you?"
You tilted your head and she continued. "...I've always wanted to put on a show for someone, but everyone here clearly has their own things to do."
She then looked right into your eyes. "But you seem curious, so..."
You simply nodded your head in response and her smile was radiant. She simply clasped her hands and muttered a quiet 'thank you' before she lowered herself to pick up one of the ballerinas.
You stood back and watched Sandrone take the marionette's controller with her right hand. She moved its arms, made it walk around a little, all those small actions.
And then she made it dance.
First was a simple slow dance. She intricately moved the marionette's body to spin at a steady pace, subtly altering its movements to appear more graceful.
Then, she gradually increased the spinning, until it turned into a pirouette. Despite the marionette's dynamic motions, you noticed that Sandrone never once shifted her position clearly showing off her fluency at puppeteering.
And then the ballerina slipped.
As Sandrone had it fall to the floor, the marionette's tutu splayed alongside her legs, she positioned its arms in front of its head, before puppeteering it to make a motion akin to crying. This lasted for a while, until she had it place her arms back down and turned its head towards you.
The marionette got back up and slowly walked towards you in its high-heeled shoes. It gently looked up at your towering form, before lowering its head in almost what appeared to be shame.
With curiosity taking over, you decided to kneel down and touch the ballerina's head with one of your two large fingers, while rubbing it back and forth as if to say 'it's okay.'
You stopped after a few seconds, and then the ballerina looked up and clasped your finger in its arms... before pressing its carved and painted lips to it in what you could deduce was a kissing motion.
You stared up at Sandrone, who merely stared back with a cheeky smile. Clearly, she was enjoying this and you had no intention of breaking the immersion.
So you let the ballerina continue holding your finger close to it until it let go and began dancing once again.
A/N: Should I continue to build off this idea? Let me know in the comments below! I sound like a fucking youtuber lmfao
A/N 2: Seriously don't be shy. I read all of them even if I may not reply myself!
A/N 3: I made a part 2 to this post!

Love garden
↬ Warnings: No warnings …ᘛ⁐̤ᕐᐷ
↬ Female!Reader and person narration (*˘︶˘*).。*♡
↬ Author Note: I love Diluc<3 I've written some other stuff with Genshin characters, you can check it out on my profile if you're interested<3
↬ Summary: The uncrowned king of Mondstadt has begun to develop feelings for his childhood friend.
↬ Word Count: 1,003 Words
Tumblr media
Since childhood, Y/N and Diluc had been inseparable. They grew up together in Mondstadt, sharing games, secrets and adventures in every corner of the city. Their friendship was as solid as iron, forged by years of laughter and loyalty, of promises and memories, of good and bad times together, little adventures and tons of love and care for each other.
As time went by, they both had to take separate ways, separating for a while, but even after so long their hearts were still connected, it was impossible to break a connection that had prevailed alive for so many years after all.
While Diluc, after years of being away from the nation, assumed his role as the owner of the Dawn Winery in the mornings and the enigmatic, mysterious and heroic Dark Knight Hero of Mondstadt in the evenings, Y/N found her own purpose after studying at the Akademiya of Sumeru, returning to Mondstadt to tend to a small garden that had been built in the heart of the city.
One day, while Y/N was in her garden arranging the flowers and making sure everything was in order, Diluc appeared unexpectedly. Although his face showed a serious expression, there was a soft intensity in his eyes that Y/N had not seen in a long time. "Y/N, I've been thinking about you." Diluc said, slowly approaching. "Can I stay with you for a moment?"
Y/N looked at him with curiosity and a slight smile on her lips. The garden had always been her place of peace, the place where everything seemed more pleasant, more simple and peaceful, Diluc's presence made it even more special. "Of course, Diluc. You're always welcome here."
He sat near her, on a small bench of the place, watching how she worked with delicacy and mastery on her plants, she already had a good time taking care of this place. A pleasant silence formed between them, interrupted only by the occasional birdsong and the soft rustling of the leaves as they moved in the wind.
"You know..." He began to say in a thoughtful tone. "Sometimes when I see the flowers here, they remind me of what we've shared since we were children, the days in my father's garden, the sunny days where we played hide and seek with Kaeya or Jean, or when we'd go looking for bugs and flowers with you... The times when as children, everything seemed simpler."
She looked up from the flowers, looking at him with a mixture of surprise and affection. They didn't usually talk about their feelings this way, but she felt there was something different about the way Diluc was acting.
"Kinda funny..." She said with a soft smile. "Maybe it's weird for me to say it like this but I've always thought that this garden is like a reflection of various connections I have with people, especially our friendship. I take great care of it cause it means a lot to me, as you do too, Diluc."
He was silent, but his eyes shone with an intensity that Y/N couldn't ignore. Finally, he leaned a little closer. "Y/N, there is something I need to tell you." He began, his voice filled with an unusual vulnerability. "How I've felt about you has changed over time. You're not only my friend, but someone I truly appreciate more than I could ever put into words. You are a beautiful girl, you are strong and honest, you are charismatic and kind, you are sweet and brave... I could spend all day talking about how I see you... but I'm scared, I don't wanna lose you because of the things I feel for you."
Her stomach flipped over, she felt her heart beating faster, her cheeks flushing as she listened to Diluc's heartfelt words. She wasn't sure how to respond, but the sincerity in his voice moved her deeply.
"Diluc, I've felt something special for you too, for a while now..." Admitted Y/N in a trembling voice. "But I- I didn't know how to tell you. I was afraid it might ruin our friendship."
Diluc smiled, a gleam of relief in his eyes. "You don't have to fear that, Y/N. What I feel for you has grown over time and I think it's something worth feeling together, if you'll allow me."
With a gesture full of tenderness Diluc took Y/N's hand, looking at her warm and comforting eyes with an expression that blended love and affection that became overwhelming to the young woman's melting heart.
"Let me show you how special you are to me, not only as a friend with whom I have spent countless moments together, adventures and good times, but as someone I wish to protect, care for and love as long as you and life will allow me to."
With her heart overwhelmed with emotion, she nodded slowly, looking into his eyes, nervous and excited by his words. Her trust in Diluc and the love she felt for him came together in a moment of pure connection. "I'd love to do the same, Diluc."
He ran a hand around her waist with a gentle smile and a soft shade of pink on his cheeks. He held her chin with his gloved hand and looked down at her. "May I?"
It was the happiest day for both of them. She felt like she would faint soon from so much emotion her heart was feeling, she nodded shyly and it was then that Diluc brought their lips together gently, a tender kiss full of the love and affection they felt for each other.
From that day on, the garden became an even more meaningful place for them, a place to spend time together and create many memories.
Each visit was a mixture of laughter and intimate moments, as Diluc strove to show his devotion and affection in every gesture and action. Through the seasons, through time and through life's changes, their new relationship blossomed so beautifully, just as the flowers did in Y/N's garden.

Tea party!( Wait it’s water.) Neuvillette x reader
Based off a conversation I had with @its-astrotea-love
Tumblr media
When you were born , you had a special condition that affected your taste buds , resulting in you having a more refined preference of food .
When you were young, you wouldn’t eat store made food or pre-made items , everything had to be homemade because you couldn’t stand the artificial taste .
This resulted in you becoming a world wide food critic , tasting bamboo shoot soup from Liyue , Miso Udon soup from Inazuma , Fontaine’s famous macarons from Lady Navia too .
Soon , you returned to your home land , Sumeru , but just as you got there and rested for a while , the Chief Justice of Fontaine requested for your audience for some sort of special liquid?
When you arrived at Fontaine , you never thought that the place you were supposed to be at , was actually set up like a tea party .
Tea cups there, pastries and different flavors of cake over there, teapots over there , wineglasses(ish) over there….
Wait
Teapots?
You whipped your head around to confirm to yourself that you weren’t hallucinating, and sure enough , there were 7 teapots on the elegantly decorated table.
Before you could ponder the purpose of the teapots , the door opens and you turn around to see the Chief justice of Fontaine looking right back you .
He stares at you for a few seconds and then tells you in a deep voice ,” Please , have a seat”
He gestures to the chairs and then pulls out a chair for you and then sits down across from you .
You look at his lavender eyes , and then ask in a firm voice ( you surprisingly didn’t stutter) “ If I may ask , why is the chief justice requesting my services?”
He takes one of the teapots and while you were expecting tea , perhaps green tea , all that came out was pure water .
He sets down the teapot and then notices your confused expression,” Oh , right , I have asked you to come here today to have a water-tasting session.”
You stare at him dumbfounded for a few seconds before smiling and say” Is it because I’m known for my refined tastes ?”
He nods and then proceeds to say “ Quite so , I hope you can taste the flavors in the waters , I have samples from Mondstadt, Inazuma , Sumeru , Natlan , Snezhnaya, Liyue , and The Sea of Bygone Eras .”
You stare at him before smirking ,” You picked water from the Sea of Bygone Eras? Isn’t that the water from Fontaine still?” He looks at you and then tells you ,”Technically yes and no , The Sea of Bygone Eras is apart of Fontaine , but it’s a different land entirely still .”
You nod your head in understanding, and proceed to bring the teacup placed in front of you to your lips and drink it , surprisingly , it was fresh and crisp , almost like the wind against your face .
Neuvillette notices how your face brightens up when you take a sip of the water and asks “ Do you like it ? This water is taken from Mondstadt , I find that it has a fresh and crisp feeling to it .”
You nod vigorously and start to ramble on how the flavors blend perfectly together and how the freshness of the water represents the land of freedom really well .
Soon enough you begin to eagerly sip every sample given to you and share your opinion about every one of them , while you do , you don’t notice the soft look Neuvillette has on his face and a smile appearing .
You also don’t realize what he says .
“ What a wonderful gift you are…”

"how do you become accidentally married?" …part 2.
fluff
DENDRO MASTERLIST | DRABBLE MASTERLIST
Drabble prompt: page 1: #8 = "how do you become accidentally married?"
Warnings? Mentions of alcohol in general and what could be blood (but it's actually red wine). Pet names mentioned (Honey, my Love).
Featuring Alhaitham and a slight mention of Nahida!
1k words.
Here’s a part 2 no one asked for! @groovyparadisestarlight and @udretlnea sort of did
i wonder if this one will blow up like the first part…
Tumblr media
‘Because he cannot remember what happened the night before.’
These are the events that lead up to the day after.
In a far corner of Lambard's Tavern sat you with a cup of the Taverns, in the words of Kaveh, “best wine one has ever tasted.” You were waiting for him to show up after a meeting with a surprisingly easy client. You would buy his drinks for him today as a treat for his good mood. As you don’t want to burden him any further than he already could be.
After you had finished a quarter of your first glass — as you didn’t want too drink to much before the occasion had even begun — Kaveh came bursting in, luckily it wasn’t so crowded just yet. So he didn’t disturb many people with his sudden appearance. Many.
He looked around the main room before spotting you and quickly making his way over, “(Y/N)! Great! You’re here!” He smiled as he sat opposite you. After he gave you a kiss on the cheek though. It was always a sweet gesture from him to you.
And him to you, only.
Anyway.
“So how was the meeting with the client?” You asked as you rested your chin on the back of your hand, gazing across the table at him. The question only made him more… happier than he was a literal second ago.
“Oh, right! Well, the client loved what I had in mind! He said that what I had thought and designed what exactly what he had in mind too! We saw eye to eye,” He exclaimed with a genuine grin before taking a quick sip of wine from the cup that you had poured for him, “and get this. He also said that he will help with most of the cost of it!! Can you believe it?!” He stood up with his hands on the table. You were genuinely happy for him, it’s the happiest you’ve seen him in a while.
“Wow! That’s great, Honey! And I am glad to see that smile of yours again.”
As the day went on, you ordered a few more drinks and a meal because why not? It’s a good occasion. More people came in and went. Locals and travellers. Speaking of travellers, a travelling bard from Mondstadt made a pit stop in Sumeru and tried playing their music, which was a hit. It was much different to what locals in Sumeru are accustomed to.
Faster pace, more upbeat, more… joyous. Lively. Something that was worth dancing to.
Evening came and the bard was back, they brought more people off the streets inside to dance. As that’s what a lot of people were doing already. Singing local songs and ones from other nations.
At this point, the two of you were a little drunk, ones with the vibes. It was the end of the week, so it was so worth it.
“Care to dance with me, m’dear?” Kaveh asked as he stood and offered a hand to you with a bow, the other behind his back. Looking into his eyes you would see the same kind, caring being he is, the only difference was that you saw more love and adoration in his eyes for you. You and only you.
“Of course, my Love!” You smiled as you held his hand and stood up.
The evening was… a bizarre blur. A lot of drinks, like different types of wine. Lots of singing with everyone in the tavern, and of course dancing. You vividly being on top of a table with Kaveh, and him spinning you around at some point. Though the owners didn’t do anything about it, I’m assuming that they didn’t mind it. Everyone had fun.
A little too much fun to be honest, to the point that The Corps of Thirty came in and closed down the tavern for the night as it was even quite loud and the sounds where quite brash on the main high street itself. Disrupting the peace.
But even after that, neither you or Kaveh wanted to go home. Even if it was best because of how drunk you two were.
But somehow, the pair of you traversed to the Sanctuary of Surasthana, and made it in one peace, where the Lesser Lord herself would be. During the nights, she would occasionally walk around the city to appreciate it in peace, and you so happened to come across her here.
Kaveh spoke to her and had the idea to ask her to officiate something and be the key witness for the occasion. And of course she agreed. Upon her asking what it was, Kaveh would say, in a heartbeat – yet drunkenly confident – “I want to marry this lovely being here” he pulled you closer, “(Y/N). (M/N). (L/N). The love of my life!”
She didn’t care what time it was, neither did you two.
The Lesser Lord herself, and the guards, served as your witnesses.
It wasn’t exactly how someone would want to be married, but to be married by a God herself? You better count that as a blessing for a bright future.
But the Goddess didn’t want something happening to the newly weds as you made you ways back down from the Sanctuary. So she escorted you both herself back home.
She granted you the sweetest of dreams for that night, and she knew that neither of you would regret the decision. Even she knew how close you two were.
It was about 2am when you got back to Kaveh’s shared house with Alhaitham. And surprisingly, you didn’t wake him up. Even if he sleeps like dead weight.
You stumbled onto the bed first, then did Kaveh. No type of intimacy was shared, apart from some loving words and light kisses. All before you both passed out asleep.
Let’s forget the red wine stains and glasses in the living room for now.
Just how will you explain this to Alhaitham later on?
So this is how you become accidentally married.
Tumblr media
I ran out of steam towards the end. Sorry.

Kaeya would do anything for you, why couldn't you just see that? He didn't understand since he had been so attentive towards you, even after that one night where he witnessed something from outside the window of Angel's Share that made him feel too many emotions at once. Was he just not enough for you? Did you move on? Even worse, did you truly choose Diluc? These thoughts consume him constantly and tear at his aching heart.
So, in this moment, Kaeya is standing there soaked from the pouring rain in front of your door as you look up at him with a mix of confusion and concern. His gaze full of turmoil as he stares down into your eyes, seemingly unfazed by how the rain continues to pelt his tanned skin and drench him completely. "Please... Will you please listen to me?", his voice is soft but with so much desperation and heartache.
But how did you two even get to this point? Had things always been this way? No, they hadn't. And Kaeya was more determined than ever to have you by his side.

Being in Mondstadt was certainly quite the culture shock for you since you had come from Natlan. Mondstadt was a far-cry from the scorching heat and endless wars that consumed your nation. Everything here was so peaceful and freeing. There seemed to be no archon ruling over the place finding joy in calling for constant war between its people. In fact, the archon seemed largely absent here but many people still held faith for him.
It was...nice. You felt like you could breathe without smelling the stench of death and fire. You certainly turned heads when you arrived here since you did not look like the people who resided in this nation nor did you dress like them. Maybe if you had gone to Sumeru instead, less heads would have turned at your appearance, but you wanted to get as far from Natlan as possible.
The guards at the gates leading in Mondstadt City looked at you warily while you looked at them with curiosity. "Who are you and what is your purpose here?", one of the guards spoke. You blink a couple of times as your brain processes the language difference and makes the switch to their tongue, "I'm here for refuge." The two men cast sideways glances at each other before looking back at you, "And how long do you plan on staying?" You frowned slightly as you thought, "For as long as I can."
The guards looked skeptical of you and one narrowed their eyes at you as he spoke, "Come with me. I'll escort you to the headquarters of the Knights of Favonius where you can meet with the Acting Grandmaster." Just as he turned around to lead you, Venti seemed to pop out of nowhere with a bright smile and curious eyes, "Who's this?" The guard jumped, startled by Venti's sudden appearance and put a hand to his chest to keep his heart from jumping out of his chest from the innocent scare, "Gah!" He clicked his tongue, "If it isn't Venti the bard... We have someone new here and I was going to escort them to the Knights Headquarters."
You looked at Venti curiously, trying to figure out if he was someone you could trust. It was a habit you didn't think you would be rid of anytime soon. But he only smiled happily at you then back at the guard, "Let me take her. I have nothing else going on right now." The guard hesitated for a moment, then released a deep, defeated sigh, "Fine. I shouldn't leave my post anyways." Venti's bright smile seemed to get even brighter at his relentence. He looked back to you, "Come and follow me!" You only shrugged and began to follow after him.
Walking through the main city beside Venti, you felt many eyes on you. Some wary of you while others just looked on in curiosity. Maybe they would relax if you had walked with a small smile on your face, but alas, resting bitch face was your default unless you were among close friends (which you could count on only one hand). Venti chattered away endlessly as you followed him as if he had known you for ages, but you hardly listened. The only thing that caught your attention was the towered statue of the nations archon. You paused as Venti continued to speak, until he shortly noticed you had stopped, "Huh? Is something wrong?" Your eyes go from the statue to him, back and forth a couple of times before you finally spoke, "Do your people not realize that you are their archon? Why do they call you the bard and seem to disregard you?"
Venti's eyes widened and his cheeks flushed, "Oh... That's um..." You raised a brow at him, "Why do you hide your identity?" Venti paused again, but recovered by clearing his throat, "I would rather the people have full freedom then feel the need to bow down to me, I don't want to go into details." You simply regarded his words with a shrug, "Well, that's your choice, I guess." Venti blinked at your nonchalant acceptance but quickly smiled his usual bright smile, "Anyways, that's enough of that tour. I'll take you to the Knights of Favonius headquarters now."
It wasn't long before you both arrived to HQ and entered through the grand double doors. Venti approached the first door on the left, "And this is Acting Grandmaster Jean's office." Venti stepped aside to allow you to enter first, but before you hand could even turn to handle, the door flew open. A hard mass ran into you and the next thing you knew, you were on the ground. Your nose scrunched up from the fall and a smooth voice sounded out, "Oh my! I am so sorry. Please, let me..." The voice trailed off as you looked up at the source.
Light periwinkle eye met yours. You studied the tall tanned man before you as he looked at you, not with wariness, but with pure awe. Venti stared at the interaction and then let out a light knowing giggle which snapped both you and the man out of it. The man cleared his throat and held out his hand out towards you and you took it. After you were pulled back to your feet, the man gave you a charming smile, "The name's Kaeya. Calvary Captain of the Knights of Favonius." His smooth voice made you feel as though you were being wrapped up in a soft blanket. "I'm y/n", you replied then looked down at where his hand was still holding yours, "You can let go now..."
Kaeya's cheeks reddened immediately and he let go of your hand, letting out an awkward laugh, "Sorry about that." A blonde woman peeked behind Kaeya's shoulder, "And who might this be?" Kaeya stepped aside to allow both you and Jean to get a better look at each other and Venti spoke up, "She's new here and will be staying here for awhile." Jean smiled softly at you, "Then, please, come in. We can discuss any questions you might have and I'll find you a good place to stay while you're here." With that, you entered her office and discussions began.
❅*ִ❅*ִ❅*ִ❅*ִ❅*ִ❅*ִ
After Jean had escorted you to your new home, you were finally alone again. You laid flat on your back against the small, soft twin-sized bed as you stared up at the wooden ceiling. "Things will be different now... Things will be better... At least I hope so...", you spoke aloud to noone. Since it had become late in the day and you were too exhausted to prepare a meal for yourself or purchase clothes that better with this nation, you resigned yourself to head to the tavern Venti spoke so highly of.
Making your way through town as the sun hung low in the sky that casted pink and purple hues over everything, you push open the door to Angel's Share and were instantly greeted with music from a bard you didn't know and drunk patrons laughing and talking loudly throughout the cozy space. Your eyes drifted over to the bar where you spotted a tall, broad-shouldered man with fiery red hair. Your heart instantly jumped in your chest at the sight of a familiar hair color that the majority of your nation bore. He made you feel a small comfort with something so familiar.
Without much thought, you strode over to where he was and sat on one of the bar stools that creaked slightly underneath you. The sound caught the man's attention, he paused his wiping of the drinking glass he had been cleaning as his crimson eyes met yours, "What can I get for you?" His voice was deep and almost monotonous, but there was a sense of comfort tied to it. He studied you with a brief curiosity before he apparently decided your different appearance didn't matter to him.
"I'll take a Queimada", you replied instantly earning you a quirked brow from the man. "Apologies, but we don't serve that here. From that choice though, you must be from Natlan, correct?", his question wasn't wary, simply curious as he took in your appearance yet again. You nodded once, "That's right." There was a bit of an awkward pause that the man had no intention of filling, so you were the first to break it, "I'll just take what specialty you serve here." With a nod, he made your drink and set it down in front of you, the golden liquid looked bright and sweet, "Enjoy."
You took a sip and it wasn't long before you had downed 3 more glasses of what you learned to be dandelion wine. You finally cracked a little smile at the brooding man and introduced yourself, to which he finally casted a glance your way for the first time in a while, "I'm Diluc, the owner of Dawn Winery and Angel's Share." His response was gruff though you could tell he meant no harm by it. You both had been fine with the silence between the two of you as you drank what he served you, but with the alcohol that buzzed beneath your skin, you longed for more conversation. Before further conversation could ensue, you heard a familiar sing-song voice calling out to you, "Y/n! Come join us!"
Diluc groaned which made you turn to see the one who called out to you. It was no other than Venti who sat with a smirking Kaeya. You quirked a brow at Diluc to which he gave you a defeated and narrowed look, "Those two cause too much disturbance. It would best if you didn't get too wrapped up with them." But you being you, took that as a bit of challenge, "I can handle it." Diluc rolled his eyes at your response and didn't spare you a second glance as you strolled over to the two men who desired your presence.
Kaeya got up and pulled the chair out for you. One corner of your lips curled up as you gave him a teasing look, "Such a gentleman." He bowed dramatically, playing along, "Of course, my dear~" This display pulled a laugh from you that caused Kaeya to feel a tug on his heart, but he hid it behind a cheeky smile and sat down when you did as well. The night went on and whenever Kaeya got up to retrieve more drinks for both you and Venti, the girls seemed to flock to him. You couldn't help but watch as he never turned down flirtations from the girls and expertly charmed them in return.
You weren't close enough to Kaeya to feel any sort of jealousy, but part of you silently admitted you hated what you saw. That small part of you hoped he treated you and only you like that. What a silly thought to have for someone you had just met earlier that day... Without your knowing, Venti took in your very subtle disheartened look whenever Kaeya charmed someone else. Not that he would particularly do anything with this new information, but he didn't like seeing you unhappy.

Weeks seemed to pass by quicker than you had expected. Some of the people of Mondstadt were still wary of you and kept their distance, not that you particularly cared much. You were happy with your small group of people you were now considering your friends that consisted of Kaeya, Venti, Diluc, and Jean. You remember being with Jean when you decided you should probably purchase clothes that better fit with the style of Mondstadt. You looked at her as if she were crazy when she came over to your place and handed you an off-the-shoulder long sleeve top, a brown corset, and dark green pants.
She insisted that you put it on and relented with a heavy sigh, going into your bathroom and changing. When you stepped out in the new outfit, Jean looked so proud, "Come on. You should be out and about in this!" You felt awkward leaving your home in an outfit that felt foreign to you, but when the two of you came across Kaeya by the fountain in the center of the city, you felt differently. Jean looked up at him expectantly, "Welllll? What do you think?"
Kaeya stood there stunned at the way you looked. His eye trailed your figure, taking in the swell of the top of your breasts and the way the corset hugged your figure tightly and oh... the pants.... He felt his cock twitch involuntarily and a slight blush crept to his tanned cheeks, "You look more beautiful than ever." You weren't entirely sure of how genuine his words were since the tone of his voice was the same tone he used to charm every other woman who approached him with flirtatious intentions. That small part of you whispered to you that you wanted him to only say those words to you in such a tone, but you knew from what you had observed, that wouldn't ever be likely. Kaeya seemed to belong to everyone.
❅*ִ❅*ִ❅*ִ❅*ִ❅*ִ❅*ִ
As months passed, you felt yourself longing for Kaeya's attention, but he always seemed just out of your grasp even if he spent most of his free time with you and the others. You knew it seemed foolish to have that desire, but you couldn't help how you felt towards him. You two had grown quite close and even shared moments where you felt as though he felt the same way towards you.
One memory you can recall of such an instance is when he insisted on walking you home late at night after quite a few rounds of drinks. The warm air felt comfortable as it brushed through your hair and his as you both walked. The streets were mostly quiet besides the sounds of frogs croaking somewhere in the distance and bugs singing their nightly songs. There was a brief moment in which your hand brushed against his and you muttered a quick apology. Kaeya chuckled softly in response and told you it was fine.
Part of you wished you were brave enough to just take his hand in yours, but instead you were a coward. Once you reached your doorstep, you turned and looked up at Kaeya who gave a soft smile down at you, "Goodnight. Sleep well." His voice and the way he looked at you made you want so much more. You stood there lost in him, wishing he would kiss you.
You were snapped out of your thoughts when Kaeya tilted his head ever-so slightly, eyebrows furrowed, and lowered his voice, "Are you alright?" You blinked and gave a half-hearted smile, "I'm fine. Must've just had too much to drink..." Kaeya visibly relaxed at your answer, "Well, have a good night then. I should be going now." You kept your half-hearted smile, "Yeah. Goodnight, Kaeya." He gave one more soft smile and turned, walking away into the night.
Another memory you were quite fond of was another time were it had been just you and Kaeya. You were sitting on the edge of Starsnatch Cliff letting your legs dangle as the wind threaded through your hair. "Need some company?" a smooth voice spoke out to you. You turned your head to see a smirking Kaeya approaching. You gave him a slight smile in return and he sat down next to you. His shoulder brushed against yours, but neither of you moved away at the feeling.
Kaeya broke the peaceful silence between you, "Do you come here often?" You barked out a laugh that turned into genuine laughter, “Does that line usually work for you?" Kaeya raised a brow at your response, but once the realization struck him he laughed, "I've never had to use that line before, so you tell me..." He gently grasped your chin and leaned in dangerously close with a smirk, his voice lowered, "Did it work?"
Your eyes widened and your cheeks turned crimson at the closeness and the gesture. You quickly came back to yourself and swatted his hand away, turning you face back to the sprawling view in front of you, "You'll have to try a little harder. Lines like that don't work on me." Kaeya looked amused but also faced to view that captured your attention and spoke nonchalantly, "Guess I'll have to be better next time."
Later that evening, you came home to find three cecelias tied together on a blue string with a little note that read: Hopefully this is an improvement from cheesy pick-up lines. Your heart skipped a beat. This certainly was better than any cheesy pick-up line.
From then, your heart seemed to ache for him even more. But seeing the way he was with every other woman really made you feel like shit, so you turned to the one who knew him best, Diluc.
❅*ִ❅*ִ❅*ִ❅*ִ❅*ִ❅*ִ
It was evening when you made the decision to ask for Diluc's advice, strolling into Angel's Share with a disheartened look. Diluc's crimson eyes met yours as soon as you walked in and his eyebrows furrowed when he saw the look on your face, "What's wrong?"
You sighed and plopped down on one of the bar stools, immediately crossing your arms on top of the bar and resting your forehead down on them. "This is so stupid. I'm so stupid. I hate this...", your voice came out muffled from the position you were in, but Diluc caught the gist of your grumbles. "Come on, lift your head up. How can I possibly help if I can't even hear what's troubling you?", his voice was stern but was mixed with genuine worry. Though Diluc wasn't one to be generally close with others, he felt that all those times he spent around you that he was comfortable with you.
You finally lifted your head and Diluc's somewhat stern expression morphed to pure concern when he saw the tears pricking your eyes. Immediately he announced for everyone to get out of the tavern, stating they were closing early for the night. People grumbled, not wanting their drinking shenanigans to end to early, but they left as they were told. As soon as the tavern was empty, he came from behind the bar and sat next to you, his voice low with worry, "Tell me why you're crying."
You sniffled as tears threatened to spill, "This is so stupid. I shouldn't even be crying." Diluc frowned, "No. Whatever it is, it's making you cry. Not once have I seen you cry while you've been staying here in Mondstadt. So tell me." You bit the inside of your cheek and then relented. As you explained your feelings about Kaeya, the only thing that kept Diluc from confirming that you were indeed stupid to even have feelings for his brother were your tears that continuously rolled down your cheeks.
In a soft gesture that Diluc didn't do for just anyone, he gently wiped one of the tears from your cheek with the pad of his gloved thumb, "Your feelings and concerns aren't stupid, even if I don't agree with you having romantic feelings for Kaeya, I can't disregard them just because I personally dislike him for my own reasons." You looked into his eyes and knew he was being genuine with you, "But what do I even do? I hate feeling like this..." Diluc frowned as he tried to come up with a proper response for something he had never dealt with before, "Try to distract yourself. Put your focus on yourself and when you're ready, start to focus on someone new."
You pondered his words for a moment with shaky breaths, "But what if I can't?" Diluc gently grabbed your shoulders and leaned closer to you, "You can. You're a strong woman, so don't doubt yourself." For some reason his words made you cry again, perhaps not from sadness, moreso from feeling too much at once. This startled Diluc and he did what he thought would be best to calm you. He stood up and brought you into his arms in a warm, comforting embrace. He held you and smoothed your hair as you cried into his chest.
One thing the two of you did not know what Kaeya was there just outside the tavern, having watched this exchange from the front window. He didn't know what had been said between the two of you, but seeing the way Diluc wiped your tears in an intimate gesture and held you against him in his arms made something twist in Kaeya's stomach. So, you had supposedly chosen Diluc. Maybe you wanted Diluc this whole time. Kaeya witnessing what had just happened seemed to bring a sense of finality to his question. To him, you chose his brother.
❅*ִ❅*ִ❅*ִ❅*ִ❅*ִ❅*ִ
Ever since that night, you had noticed that Kaeya seemed to be avoiding you which made you feel incredibly worse. You wanted to listen to Diluc's advice and push past your feelings for Kaeya since he seemed so unattainable. Kaeya would still spend some evenings with you and the others, but more frequently began to find excuses for why he couldn't join you all. When he was around you, he still had that mischievous charm, that sweet but sly smirk, and kind compliments that he gave to you. He seemed the same as ever, but with the growing distance, you weren't sure what to think.
You made yourself believe that you were fine with this. Diluc said to keep your distance as well so you tried to not let it get to you whenever Kaya couldn't join you are the group. But fuck, it did bother you. So fucking much. Will this heartache ever go away? No.
Apparently you were only getting ready to be completely heartbroken.
You couldn't have known what you were about to walk into. How could you have? You had gone to the tavern as usual, already accepting that Kaeya said he wouldn't be able to make it for whatever made up excuse he came up with this time. You sat at the bar having some light-hearted conversation with Diluc and throwing back a drink or maybe more than just one. Your brain was swimming with the alcohol you had consumed and excused yourself to the bathroom to splash your face with water to sober up a little.
Before you could even make it there, you heard a familiar laugh.
Kaeya's laugh. Your first thought was that it was a comforting sound only for your second thought to come barrelling in. What was he doing here? He said he couldnt make it so why the hell were you hearing his laughter? With the alcohol flooding your mind and heating your body, you went to find the source.
The sound of his flirtatious, sultry voice could not be mistaken for someone else's. The voice carried you to the second floor of Angel's Share. And there he was. He wasn't alone. Some pretty little blonde stood there, leaning over his table and propping herself up on her elbows as her ass stuck out in the position she put herself in. You couldn't hear what either of them said because the pounding of your heart filled your ears.
You stood there in some kind of stupor, frozen in place. The next thing you knew, the girls lips were on his. You didn't stay to see what happened next. You raced down the stairs. This caught Diluc's attention. The sight of you racing towards him looking as though you had seen a ghost. He didn't hesitate for even a second when you begged him to take you home, claiming that you couldn't bear to be alone right then. Tossing the tavern's keys to Charles, who caught them effortlessly and took over as if this was nothing new to him.
Diluc held you by your waist protectively as you both walked quickly out of Angel's Share and towards your home. He didn't speak, feeling it wasn't the right moment to ask you anything. As soon as you both entered your home and Diluc shut the door, rain began to pelt against the windows and you threw yourself in his arms and sobbed.
❅*ִ❅*ִ❅*ִ❅*ִ❅*ִ❅*ִ
Diluc held you for what seemed like hours as you wet the front of his shirt with your tears, your fingers clutching the fabric as if he were your lifeline. He didn't mind it so much, he just wanted you to feel better and if holding you and letting you cry against him was what you wanted, he would stay like just like this.
You meant something to him, even though it wasn't in a romantic sense, you were deeply important to him. After what seemed like forever, he tilted your head up gently so you would look up at him, “You don’t have to tell me anything if you don’t want to. But just know that I’m here and I’m listening.” You drew in shaky breaths, your body trembling from all the crying, “He was there. With someone else. She… They… They kissed.”
Diluc's expression of concern morphed to anger and he held you close once again as you began to cry once more, but softly this time.
Why was his brother so fucking stupid? Didn't Kaeya know what you felt for him? Couldn't he even tell?
It took a long time for you to calm down, but with Diluc keeping his arms wrapped around you as you listened to him breathe and softly soothe you helped immensely. When you looked up at him again he gave a sad smile, "Will you be alright by yourself tonight?" You wiped your tear-stained cheeks and let out a breath, "I'll be okay... You've done enough for me already...”
He brushed away a strand of your hair that was stuck to your wet cheek, "Are you sure?" You gave a smile that didn't quite reach your eyes, "Promise. Now go home. I've kept you long enough." Diluc huffed at your answer but he wouldn't push you to change your mind.
If you said you would be okay, he would believe you. He gently grasped you shoulders and spoke in earnest, "Don't hesitate to come to the winery if you find you can't be alone later. My doors will be open for you." You smiled slightly at that and thanked him. Diluc pressed a soft kiss to your forehead before turning on his heels and heading out into the pouring rain.
❅*ִ❅*ִ❅*ִ❅*ִ❅*ִ❅*ִ
You change into a nightgown, get a fire started in your little fireplace, and make yourself a cup of hot tea. You hold the warm mug in both of your hands as you watched the steam rise. The rain didn't seem to be letting up any time soon, but that was fine with you. It suits your mood. You take a sip of your tea and let the warmth fill your body as your eyes trail after a raindrop that was rolling down your window.
You nearly jump out of your skin when you hear a desperate knock on your door. Your heart clenched tightly when you heard the voice on the other side, "Y/n. It's me. Please, please let me in. Let me talk to you." It was Kaeya. A small part of you held a flicker of hope when you heard it was him, but the other part of you felt even worse. The knocking and desperate pleas to be let in continued as you weighed whether you should open the door and hear what he had to say.
A crack of thunder reminded you that it was pouring outside and Kaeya must be absolutely soaked. You would feel bad if he got horribly sick, so with a heavy sigh you open the door.
There he was, looking down into your eyes with a gaze full of turmoil, seemingly unfazed by how the rain continues to pelt his tanned skin and drench him completely. "Please... Will you please listen to me?" his voice is soft but with so much desperation and heartache. You frown up at him, but step to the side to let him in without a word. Kaeya steps in and water droplets roll off of him, dripping to your wooden floors.
You set down your mug on the small wooden table that still held the now dried-out cecelias he had given you some time ago, "Let me get you a towel." Before you could turn to do as you said from your bathroom, his large hand grabbed your wrist. Kaeya pulled you back towards him, almost making you stumble, "No, let me speak first You blink up at him, opening your mouth to protest, but you quickly close it and sigh heavily. The fire crackles to your left and you decide to speak, "Let's at least sit in front of the fire. ... don't want you getting sick because of this." Kaeya let go of your wrist and nodded.
You both sit on the intricately designed rug as the fire crackles and casts a warm, orange glow on both of you. You avoid looking at him, staring at the flames instead when you speak softly, "I don't really want to talk to you right now, but you seem to have something to say. The least I can do is listen." Kaeya runs a hand through his damp blue hair, "I'm sorry for avoiding you occasionally." You huff, "No, I get it. You were seeing someone else so-" "What are you even talking about??", Kaeya cuts you off.
You finally turn your head to look at him with an incredulous look, "Seriously, Kaeya? I saw you tonight with that girl. You were kissing." Kaeya groans and pinches the bridge of his nose, "It's not like that." "Then what else could it possibly be?", you snap. "If you're seeing someone then just say so, I'II be fine." His jaw clenches, "Of course you'd be fine, you're with my brother." Your jaw drops at the words,"What are you saying? I'm not with anyone, certainly not Diluc for that matter. We aren't together."
Kaeya scoffs, "Well you sure looked awfully cozy when he wiped away your tears and held you some nights ago at Angel's Share. And you seem to spend an awful lot of time with him these days." "That only happened because I was crying over my aching feelings for you!", you raise your voice and immediately regret letting your words slip so easily. Kaeya stares at you in shock for a moment before speaking softly, "..What?"
Tears threaten to prick the inner corners of your eyes, but you turn to face to fire again, "My feelings don't matter. As I said earlier, you have that girl." Kaeya leans in towards you, "Look at me." His voice was soft, but with a commanding desperation. You finally spare him a glance, tears welling up in your eyes. He puts his palm to your cheek and caresses it, "I'm not with the girl that you saw. I didn't even know who she was.” A tear rolls down your cheek and your voice breaks when you speak, "Then why did you kiss her?"
His thumb swipes away the rolling tear and his forehead presses against yours, "She kissed me and I pushed her away right after she did that. You can ask the others that were up there, I'm being honest here." A few more tears fall and he holds you face with both hands now, forehead still pressed to yours as he speaks in a hushed voice, "You're the only I want. The only one I've been wanting since you came here." Your teary eyes search his eye, looking for any trace of dishonesty but you could find none, only truth. His breath fans against your face as he speaks again, "You're the one who has my heart. No one else. I mean it, truly."
You don't even think, you just act. Your lips press against his, startling him at first but he soon melts into it. His lips move in rhythm with yours. Your arms wrap around him, pulling him closer. Your nightgown getting wet as you pressed against his rain-soaked body.
The kiss becomes more desperate and you find yourself laying flat against the rug with Kaeya caging you in underneath him as the fire crackles and pops beside the two of you. "Tell me you want this just as much as I do", his voice came out almost shaky between heavy breaths. Your soft hand caresses his cheek and down to the back of his neck as you pulled him down to you, "More than anything, I need you."
That was all it took for him to hastily unbutton his shirt and and shrug it off his body, his pants came off just as swiftly. You lay there in awe of his tanned, muscular body and your eyes trailed down the light blue happy trail that led down to a small tuft of tangled blue and a heavy, throbbing cock with a pink, leaking tip. If you had been just anyone, he would've smirked at your reaction, but right now was not the time for teasing. He made quick work of you nightgown, tossing it unceremoniously behind him. Your breasts moved in time with you heavy breaths and he took in every inch of your body, "I've never seen anyone as beautiful as you...” His voice was barely above a whisper when he spoke.
Kaeya lowered himself down and spread your thighs gently. His breath is hot against your sensitive pussy and makes you long for him even more. His uncovered eye flits up to your face and just as quickly as he look up at you, his tongue began to flick against your clit. You draw in a sharp breath as your back arches off the rug in time with a sporadic pop from the fireplace. He groans with need when his tongue licks through your folds and laps at the taste of you.
Your legs begin to shake from the intensity of it all and you tangle your fingers in his still slightly damp hair, pulling him impossibly closer. Your grind your pussy against his tongue as he pushes you over the edge into white-hot bliss. You cry out his name when his tongue gives one more flick to your now overly sensitive clit. When he moves up towards your blissful face, you can see your own juices glistening against his lips. You don't even care that you can taste yourself on his lips and tongue when Kaeya kisses you with a deep passion.
His aching cock rubs against your wet pussy as his tongue dances with yours. Kaeya pulls back just enough that your lips still graze against each other as he speaks, "Please.." That's all he says with a breathless voice as his eye gazes into yours with so much love and desperation. You nod once and it was all it took for him to be lined up with your entrance and pushing in slowly. His eyes squeeze shut and he lets out a broken moan as he pushes his length into your warm, wet walls.
You wrap your arms around him, holding him against your body tightly as you release breathy moans. Once fully sheathed, Kaeya stills inside of you, letting you adjust to his thickness and length that were foreign to you. He presses a soft kiss to your neck as he pulls out slightly then slams back into you, making you dig your nails into his shoulders. He hisses at the feeling but doesn't stop his movement, "Fuck, you feel so good. Tell me you're mine. Please, angel, tell me you're mine." His voice was so desperate as he spoke between deep thrusts and whining groans. "I'm yours, Kaeya. Always was yours. Forever yours", you cry out as tears spill from your eyes yet again but for an entirely different reason.
Your heart feels like it is overflowing with emotion that you can't even begin to put into words. Kaeya's lips meet yours feverishly as he thrusts relentlessly into you. His cock hitting the deepest parts of you and you wrap your legs around his waist. "Gonna cum, angel", he breathes against your lips and soon your name becomes like a prayer falling repeatedly from his lips. Barely a moment later, Kaeya moans loudly and his cock throbs and twitches erratically as hot, white ropes of cum fill you. Your pussy contracts tightly around his in response as you hold him even tighter and cry out in time with the booming thunder outside your home.
Kaeya relaxes on top of you, his chest heaving and sweat glistening in the glow of the dying fire. He rolls off of you but turns towards you. You turn your head to take in his features and he tucks a strand of your hair behind your ear, "So this is what love feels like, huh?"
Your heart flutters in your chest and you turn your body fully towards him. He wraps his arms around you and holds you close against him. You press your face against his chest and he kisses the top of your head. You finally speak, your voice soft, "You must be right."

“A scholar from Sumeru is here to see you.”
Kaeya’s throat tightens. The only other time he felt this way was when he contemplated telling his secret to his sworn brother. He can’t believe you came. He wished your letters were a joke.
“Tell our guest to wait at the entrance. In the meantime, could you let Master Jean know I won’t be in my office?”
The knight salutes before he closes the door behind him, allowing Kaeya to release the tension on his shoulders, like a prisoner removing his chains. In your letters, you mentioned his homeland. By the effort of a desperate scholar needing a thesis topic, you found his connections.
He rejected your offer to meet. Twice. Guess graduation can be an immovable force. He applauds you for your tenacity, but you’re not the only one who knows how to bend the world to one’s desires.
You’re standing with your back facing the entrance of the Knight’s headquarters, head buried in papers that you don’t notice him approaching. At close inspection, you’re re-reading his letters.
In exasperation, you groaned. “How long is he going to make me wait—“
“Right here,” he says when you turn. He feels your breath on his skin; finds the surprise on your face entertaining. “How does it feel to finally be up and personal with the guy you’re looking for?”
“Touché,” you say as you take a step back. “You know why I’m here, though I’m not sure if you’re okay to discuss it… here.”
Kaeya looks past you, observing the smiles of Mondstadt’s citizens. At this hour, no one will notice you and him. The best thing about the city of freedom is their blatant ignorance to anything that hints at trouble.
“The conversation will end by the time we make it to a suitable location,” he says, “My answer will not change just because you appeared in front of my eyes.”
“You’re mistaken. I’m here not to reiterate my letter. I’m here to argue with you and I want to see the look on your face when I win.”
Kaeya blinks. His lips curve into a smirk as he slowly claps. “What will I gain out of this?”
“Freedom.”
Kaeya chuckles. “This is the land of freedom.”
“True freedom,” you say, your chosen word of emphasis wraps around his heart and squeezes it. “You wouldn’t need to hide who you are. When we achieve harmony, there’ll be no need for sides.”
His throat runs dry. The subject of home is a dam in his thoughts—but no matter. One thing he learned from the vicissitudes of life is to always be prepared.
“I admire your passion,” he takes out a single mora and holds it upright so that it glistens in the sun. “But that isn’t the principle of this world. Can you see my side of the coin?”
“There is no angle where you can see both sides of the coin at the same time.”
Kaeya flicks the coin into the air before catching it and stuffing it in his pocket, all in one swift action, something he learned from Grand Master Varka.
“As I said, here’s a perfectly good place to talk. Enjoy your time in Mondstadt.”
“No, wait!” You grab his wrist. Instinctively, he spawns his weapon. You hold on, yet you flinch. “Sorry. But, hear me out. This is not for my graduation—it’s what I genuinely want. For you.”
Kaeya arches an eyebrow, curious why you would think he needs you. He’s done plenty without you around. Plus, to do anything for him is akin to betraying the gods. He wonders how deep you’ve researched to have that overlooked.
He lends you his attention regardless. It’s not like he has not played with the lies of true freedom. It can be fun to imagine. You let go of his wrist.
“Even if the two sides will always be diametrically opposed, they are of the same material. That’s my focus. You and I are no different than the Irminsul Tree and Leylines. Don’t you think your grand position among the knights, the idyllic life in Mondstadt… aren’t they hints of what’s possible?”
“Or,” he says, keeping his weapon aside, “It’s proof that what you desire already exists.”
Your eyes flutter as if you’re trying to shake off the reasoning he’s laced over your view. The determination in them flickers.
“Are you really satisfied with what you have right now?”
Not to brag, but he’s too competent. He can have tea with the librarian, drink wine at his estranged brother’s winery, tease Jean about her sense of responsibility, or have the strongest in Mondstadt call him her big brother. There are times he wishes he wasn’t so capable—perhaps he wouldn’t be stuck in his dilemma. If he was incompetent, wouldn’t his father abandon him for good?
“There’s nothing more I can ask for,” he concludes, tightening his gloves. Your touch remains on his skin like a phantom. It’s something he won’t be able to wash away. “Word of advice: you should stop seeing your intentions as that of a hero, but a foolish act that quickens the undesirable.”
As Kaeya makes his leave, he hears your mumbling.
“…Only fools are satisfied.”

Here are some more headcanons/story based on this post
I expanded the idea a little bit in the tag on that post but I will rewrite them here as well :D
1/?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
•Kinich, Ororon and Layla are veerrrry sibling coded to me, I mean look at them!!! Green-Purple-Blue!!!!
•Kinich is the oldest out of the three, as I think either his mother or (more likely) his father had either affair OR they were split after their births, Ororon left in the mountains and Layla by the dessert with Kinich left in their "care" untill the obvious happened.
•pointy ears kinich 🤝 Layla + bat ears Ororon
•Kinich already "corrupted" Ororon into jumping from high places and enjoying it so it's just matter of time before he convinces Layla that it's very very fun to do that.
•Claymore+Bow+Sword users
•None of them connect any of the dots untill Wanderer points it out to Layla later (Layla being 4ggravate fav daughter-in-law ((collei/layla)) at family dinner asking her if the two strangers were distant family and her being like "huh????"
°"The two looked like you"
"I didn't notice, but no that's not my family"
"If you say so"
• What happened, was that Kinich and Ororon visit Sumeru and met sleep deprived Layla when she was in the market and nearly stumbled into them and somehow they got into heated conversation because Ororon mentioned that her soul is full of dual stars but not broken like his. She was confused but did try to politely tell him that humans don't have stars for souls with him just staring at her being like but you do
•Kinich just watched on resigned to the fact that they will probably be longer in the market then either of them planned and miss their chance to get at least one decent room at the inn. Wonderer watched from the shadows as well, ready to defeat the newcomers if they tried anything. Not that he cared but Collei would have been sad of something happened to Layla and he could have prevented it so might as well
•Ajaw did appear to sew more chaos but took one look at three and took himself into a time out muttering something about there being "three of them now"
•After lengthy discussion that lead to nowhere, they went they separate way (Wanderer stopping Layla from following as Kinich dragged Ororon away) they thought they could forget about it.
°Layla kept on thinking about Wanderers comments because the more she thought about it (between the precious moments of free time) the more she become more confused, because it was so so easy to argue with random stranger then it was with classmates she knew for years, so maybe there was something to it? But she didn't remember ???
°at night, with her chains broken she would search for them to demand answers but she couldn't find them anymore, it was making her restless thus she threw herself even more into her studies, hoping (deluding herself) that if she made enough of free time maybe she could find them again?
•After the disastrous meeting in the market, kinich decided that it might be best to explore areas outside the city and see what they have in store for them and hey maybe they find some asphids on this side of the world as well?
°they find mushrooms. They fly for some reason. But also ajaw was even more grumpy then usual and avoiding Kinich questions, was there something about the mystery girl that he was keeping away from them?
•Somehow all three meet again in the port ormos by pure coincidence. Layla wished to buy something for Collei (and amber, she wanted to make good impression on her girlfriend girlfriend) and Kinich dragged Ororon over to the port to find temporary lodgings so they can re stock for their journey back to natlan.
•Once again, market seems to be their chance meeting, Ororon is back at the inn, resting before the journey ahead and Kinich and Ajaw are out in the market getting supplies they need.
•They bump into Layla by one of the trinket stalls,
°"oh! It's you"
"Hello"
"......"
"......"
"Ugh, really kinich?! Just say something instead of staring at her!!!! Or better yet!!! Introduce her to the Almight-"
"Sorry about him I put him in timeout so he shouldn't bother us.... Would you like to talk somewhere else?"
"Sure?"
•The stall owner is like bruh
•they get to the inn and on the way there Kinich introduces himself and Ororon, telling her not to worry about Ajaw and that Ororon is just like that sometimes. She tells him not to worry about it but she is curious as to why the two are all the way here away from natlan?
°"Ororon is a recent widow, thought this might cheer him up"
"Oh! I'm sorry I didn't know-"
"Don't mention it to him and you be fine"
•Ororon is surprised to find Layla with Kinich but adapts pretty quickly and they get talking whilst Kinich starts packing their supplies. They talk pretty well into the night at which point they do offer Layla the spare bed in the room for her to sleep in or to walk her back all the way to sumeru city.
•She chooses to stay the night
•And in the morning as all three eat their breakfast, they agree to walk Layla back to sumeru city before they depart back to Natlan. The journey back is nice, long but nice and at the end of it they agree to meet again, be it in natlan, desert or somewhere else.
°
"You sure you have everything? We won't stop walking until we reach the pyramid" Kinich eyed Ororon, taking mental stock of all the supplies they shared and wondering if he should bring more just in case.
"I do" Ororon nodded, ready to go back to Natlan. He appreciated the trip and Kinich not-worry-worryness about him but he really wished he could go back to his vegetable fields and his asphids.
And he remembered about the light novels for granny as well, so she probably won't kill them.
"Then let's go, earlier we leave sooner we come back"
Nodding, Ororon was quick to follow, peace settling over them as they kept walking. The quite footsteps that were following them still a distance away.
"Do you think she will catch up to us before we get to the desert village?"
"...she???"
"Layla? The girl from Port? Didn't you notice???"
"No?"
"oh... Are we waiting for her?"
"we are now"
