“It’s quite alright,” she began, her voice as fine as silk. “I wouldn’t want to keep you against your will.”

You resisted the urge to bite your lip in frustration. She had been doing that, as of late, guilting you. After centuries of keeping her at a distance, you found yourself becoming greedier as of late. Was it that late night of weakness months ago or was it the truth of your past you both discovered just a few weeks before? Regardless, it was your fault. Here you were playing hot and cold while she wanted nothing more than the truth. 

“It is my duty to keep you safe, Lady Guuji,” you replied without thought. Your expression turned that time. You were free from the shackles keeping you prisoner in the past. And yet when put to the test, it was towards those very things you found yourself turning for safety. 

She sighed.

“Come now. After all we’ve been through together, don’t you think I deserve at least a hint of honesty? I’m not asking for much.”

You dropped your head, doing your best to ignore the way your sense of duty screamed at the way you were showing your emotions so openly. Though you were friends with Lady Yae as a child, the elders of the clan separated you both citing your status as a filthy half-breed sky kitsune. Your presence would certainly taint Lady Yae’s esteem. So, in accordance with Lady Saiguu’s supposed wishes, you were reduced to the role of retainer, never to overstep your position.

It was only when Lady Saiguu’s diary was discovered that everything was made clear. Though it was true that you were half-human, Lady Saiguu truly cared for you regardless of your blood. She wished that you would be a companion to Lady Yae into the future. However, due to the meddlings of the clan elders, you were treated beneath her. Though you were now free, old habits were hard to change. 

Turning your gaze to Lady Guuji, no, to Lady Yae, your eyes could not help but soften. From the curve of her lips to the violet of her eyes, she was beautiful. How you longed to run your fingers through her hair and pull her close. But how could you after centuries of keeping afar? Though you knew it not to be the truth, it felt as if your touch would dirty her. How could she not know she deserved much better than you?

“I… would like to stay, Lady Yae… With you,” you finally got out, doing your best to ignore the shame that was filling your stomach. “Please let me?”

How terrible you were. How filthy you were to speak of your desires so openly. Any more and you would certainly be brought before the elders to be whipped till you couldn’t speak. You couldn’t believe how she wanted you regardless. But before your thoughts could go any more negative, she turned and glared at you. 

“Will you stop that? I know what you’re thinking. How many times do I have to tell you that you don’t need to live by that order anymore,” she scolded, shaking her head. “Really, after all this time I would have thought you would have gotten it in your head by now that I want you here.”

“It’s not easy working through centuries worth of shame,” you admitted. “But I’m not unwilling to do it. Not for you.” 

The way her eyes narrowed in delight made your face heat ever so slightly. 

“Then I suppose there’s nothing else I can do but wait,” she hummed with a twinkle in her eye. “But hurry it up, will you? You’ve kept me waiting far too long.”

I wanted to design some fun alt skins for Genshin characters, (especially after going through the character archive and realizing that basically no one is wearing pink which was a bit of a surprise tbh,) and ended up inventing a whole potential event to go with it. My thought process went:

Kaveh pretty bird —> Get that man in a kimono stat —> Wait why is he in Inazuma —> Pretty much every island in Inazuma except Narukami is totally wrecked but only Watatsumi seems to be doing any rebuilding which is kinda bunk —> Have the shogunate hire Kaveh to rebuild some villages —> Ehehe Seirai pretty so let’s have it be Seirai themed assuming the traveler cleared the Thunderbird so it could be repopulated—> Alhaitham needs one too bc they just go together so I’ll base Kaveh’s outfit on the Seirai sky (purple clouds + sunset + thunderbird + keeping architectural and lotus flower motifs) and Alhaitham’s on Seirai plants (naku weeds + amakumo fruit + teal grass + keeping signature leaf shapes and color palettes and adding to it.)

I’d like to imagine that these outfits were a gift from Kaveh’s new friend Yae. He met her at a bar loudly and drunkenly complaining about his roommate, and Yae, realizing this man was a walking talking light novel inspo goldmine, listened intently and seemed very supportive. This evolved into meeting up for drinks every weekend while he’s staying in Inazuma, in which he tells her all about his life and his friends and then promptly forgets all about it. It takes him at least a couple months for him to put together exactly who she is, and he gets pretty embarrassed about it, but they end up pretty close buddies. I also think Yae could use friends who are not either other shrine maidens, intimidated by her in some way, or Ei. She basically spends all her time playing with dolls, but the dolls are people. We also know for a fact that she cannot resist putting pretty men in ~outfits~ from the whole Gorou/Miss Hina thing.

(She was also the one who encouraged him to write a letter to invite Alhaitham to a festival celebrating the completion of the construction. She throws matching outfits at them promptly upon arrival.)

(The light novel series based on the mess that is Kaveh makes it all the way to Sumeru. Collei recognizes it and shows it to Tighnari and Cyno and thry all lose their minds. Kaveh reads it on his own at some point, but never really puts the pieces together.)

pt.2 to Yae Miko's part in Messed Up Messy Love

Emptiness. 

It became a mantra to you.

Among the shrine maidens and guests, you realize your mistake. 

You took the bait. 

You were thinking again. 

And now, Yae Miko gets to punish you for it. 

She knows how to twist every word you say, every sliver of emotion. She'll send you spiraling downward only to catch you by the thinnest string. A true puppet in her hands. 

She knows how to make you feel, even when you don't want to. 

She’s driving you mad.

You're going insane. 

Unpredictable. That’s the only way to properly describe her.

The others only see the tiniest sliver of what she's capable of. You have the great honor of bearing witness to all of her madness. 

Her fingers dance along your body, nails digging bloody holes into you. Her voice and words drag you by the skull through a mental maze she constructed, just for you. 

Her little pet. 

And when she can't seem to get you to react how she wants, she has many more tools to help her. 

You will appreciate her hard work and attentiveness. She's taken so much time to learn about you. 

Don't you realize? 

All of this was for you. 

She understands you perfectly, now. 

Before she was easily able to predict your movements. Now, she knows what you'll think before it even happens. 

Emptiness. 

Empty your mind.

"If you have no thoughts, then I can't predict them," Yae Miko stares at you. The corners of her lips twitch. She wants to show you her canines. In a smile? Or as a threat? Not that there's any difference. 

"What a sad reaction. You'd throw away all of what makes you human, just to spite me?" She fakes a pout. 

"Too bad it won't get you what you want," she swoops in close, "I will never let you go." She laughs and pats your cheek like she just gave you a lollipop. "So no need to bother with such boring behavior. Let's keep this interesting as long as possible, okay?" 

You hate that sing-song voice she uses when she talks about getting her way. 

There's no escape. 

You tried to die, and she wouldn't let you. 

You're killing yourself in a different way, and all she can do is laugh. 

You'll die by her hand, only when she allows it. 

You find the only sanctuary is in your sleep. The nightmares are nothing compared to real life. Yet even that reprieve is stripped from you as soon as you show the pattern of using it to escape. 

You wake up trapped inside your mind. Your body goes to Miko. You pound and shake and scream, yet it's all for naught. You feel sick. Your body doesn't respond. 

Miko and you do things you wish you never witnessed. You wish your body didn't seem so eager. You wish you could go back to sleep. But it's like you're the subject to a failed hanging. All you can do is dangle helplessly and watch as the world spins around you. Or maybe you're the one spinning. Does it matter? Your body isn't yours anymore. 

The next day, everything returns to normal. Miko expects you to be as shaken. She always knows what to expect. You're afraid to sleep. But being awake with her feels terrible too. 

How did this happen? This nightmare hellscape. That woman has too much power. To control a person like this, it's unimaginable. 

All those centuries. You wonder– despite not wanting to– if she's done this before. 

You can't imagine anyone being drawn to her. 

Except the goddess she calls her friend. 

Except her friends in higher places. The ones that fight to possess you at any chance she gives them. 

Except the humans coming to pray. 

But the archon has a madness of her own, so it's no surprise the two get along. 

But her friends have been trapped almost for centuries and are desperate, fighting like starving rats for just a lick of freedom.

And the humans. They're only there to relieve blessings and to worship. Miko would never give them the privilege of seeing this side of her.

No.

They don't count. 

They shouldn't count. 

Because none of them truly know her. 

Because none of them are you. 

Being empty means you’ll be possessed.

Being full means you’ll be her treat.

But no matter what you are, you are Miko’s. 

You belong to her. 

Mind, body, and soul. 

Whatever is left of it, anyway.

YES!!! heavy on the brat miko she's a brat even when domming she makes it work dont ask how. i can see snarky sub beidou too ough..

miko is peak brat. she's literally made for it. she will bully you about wanting her to sub but if you pull her hair she's melting like putty. she definitely likes it rough if she's subbing and that goes for you too. expect plenty of bites and scratches.

generally a menace in bed lbr. will absolutely test your patience trying to turn the tables on you just so you can put her in her place. she's a lot quicker and more squirmy then you'd maybe expect her to be, she can and absolutely will try to flip you over. tie her up though and she'll behave..physically, at least. she's still going to be a snarky little shit trying to rile you up until you rail her into the mattress so hard she feels it the next morning. so you better shut her up, huh?

shove your fingers in her mouth, gag her, etc. shes not complaining which. keep her on her toes and switch it up even.

she has excellent control over her tail and ears to not give away her emotions but she kinda loses it if she gets really into it. rile her up enough and maybe she'll let you pull on her tail (please do)

but she also reads as someone who would want a night where you two just go at it trying to dom the other. it really gets her worked up and you might end up bleeding a bit because she gets a little too excited. might get a scar or two in the process. her teeth hurt and she knows how to use them (all the better if you are into it)

beidou, on the other hand..where miko is a little mean (affectionately) beidou feels more snarky then outright. yknow. mean. she feels more like she leans toward being a dom to me but shes absolutely down to sub!! shes just a little surprised at first

especially if your smaller then her though shes LOVES it. shes built like a damn tank she thinks its a little funny (and really hot) and she makes sure you know it. shes crude and snarky but she actually enjoys subbing from time to time that she doesnt really mind it all that much. its nice to let you take the reins sometimes

especially anything involving eating you out/sucking you off this woman is RELENTLESS. acting like she's starved. theres something thrilling about having the tables turned from how she usually does it though. grab her hair and use her and shes putty. especially if you tie her hands up so she cant grab your thighs. she'll whine and pout about it but you both know if she really wanted to she'd snap the bonds like tissue paper.

she definitely feels like someone who prefers subbing by still pleasuring you though, yknow? rather then the other way around. she prioritizes your pleasure even when she subs and it shows!!

feel like her snarkiness really shows if you start ordering her around though. she'll pull out the captain card lightheartedly and purposely be obtuse if she thinks itll rile you up without killing the mood. she'll say no with a cocky smile and then do it anyway, etc. less of a menace then miko but definitely still up to a bit of mischief.

I don't even go here much anymore but I need somewhere to throw my thoughts re: Emilie (Genshin Impact)

Yes, a lot of people have been upset or disappointed that she looks less interesting mostly in comparison to the many leaked concept arts of her, and I've definitely seen a couple colour/other edits on her which looked amazing. For me, the hair colour throws me off a bit and I have some Choice Words about her top but the green of her dress is such a deeply satisfying shade of green that reminds me of velvet, and I enjoy how her outfit, alongside Neuvilette's description and other people's voicelines, paint what feels to be a deliberately curated picture of her.

While we can't know for sure what decisions were involved that resulted in them settling on the current official design, the perception on her is so unnecessarily dampened because of that potential "what could have been" that we weren't meant to see in the first place. If anything, looking at the variety of concept arts leaked, it's at least reassuring that the artists have that skill and freedom to depict a character in so many creative ways.

honestly I'm more interested in seeing how Emilie is as a character - most of other character's voicelines about her are in regards to her business than of her (with the exception of Chevreuse) and she's a "forensic cleaner"? ESPECIALLY since she's probably going to be involved with the Burning Artifact set???There are a lot more layers here I really wish to see more people explore here instead of, well, everything else going on. I'm sitting here imagining situations involving Emilie, Chiori and Chevreuse potentially on a case, or interactions between her and Lisa/Sucrose/Albedo as a chemist (and god forbid what happens when she's put together near the Pyro Folk)

I don't know if I'll pull for her (if I do, it'll be predominantly based on her kit) but I like seeing how artists depict a character once their design is drip marketed on Twitter and it's a bit annoying seeing that the media tab there is just predominantly people talking about the concept art instead
