You know what? I’m honestly surprised there isn’t (as far as I’m aware of) a ROTTMNT 2012 crossover that takes place immediately after the Rise Boys just after defeating the Shredder and losing their Karai and through some accident one way or another they end up in the 2012 TMNT universe
But here’s the kicker: instead of usually running into the 2012 TMNT or their Kraang they run into Karai and her foot soldiers (somewhere after she takes lead of the foot clan) and being the morally-grey and fresh-out-of-losing-their-Karai trauma turtles they are they immediately attach onto her like children lost in a store
Look where I’m getting at is I just want morally-grey rise turtles hanging out with 2012 Karai and just having some not-so-innocent fun, you know? Like I feel like the fandom should make more Rise Turtles and 2012 Karai content, it would be great
#I have a feeling Rise Leo and 2012 Karai would enjoy making fun of 2012 Leo together#like okay yeah angst and everything when they realize she’s evil and all that but also#the boys: we can fix her#also the boys: after we’re done bullying these mutant losers that work for her#just guys c’mon#like it would be fun cmon#I’d like to imagine she and rise donnie get into roasting matches#she brings Mikey to the best places for him in New York for him just to go apeshit and graffiti stuff#and maybe set the occasional thing on fire#(the purple dragons lair coinceidentally a sewer drain close by the 12 turtles lair just the places of people she doesn’t like)#I think she and Raph would have genuinely good heart-to-heart moments AND give him a proper outlet for all his emotions#and as stated before she and Rise Leo would have WAY too much fun roasting the 12 turtles#(also remember that offer of stealing a katana she gave to 12 Leo in that one episode? Rise Leo would ABSOLUTELY take her up on that)#THAT PLACE IS GETTING ROBBED#like yeah eventually they redeem her through the power of the found family trope#but also—#crime turtles#rottmnt#rise tmnt#tmnt crossover#2012 tmnt#2012 karai#like obviously they all turn good in the end and shit BUT CRIME#sorry I’m obsessed with this idea now#I’m gonna go try to find fics where she and the rise turtles bond now goodbye#and then they see her turn into a snake and they’re like#AYO POP OFF QUEEN#while she’s viciously tearing apart her enemies#and then they see Shinigami and they’re like ‘Ayo guys we got another lesbian sister’#like I just think we deserve them as a group you know

What are some of your favorite character relationships/dynamics in TMNT, and why? Is there anything that you particularly like seeing explored with them in fan works (art, writing, comics, etc)?
Hi!
I don't really ship anyone from TMNT and it is SO HARD to pick favorite dynamics without listing them ALL, but to mention a few:
Leo and Donnie
Disaster Twins are just so fun to watch. I love how they are competitive with one other but have such soft spots towards each other. They seem to just get each other and know the other's limits. I especially love how the fandom has interpretted their dynamic. Y'all, half the time I'm over here sobbing in the corner. They are so sibling behavior. It's special to have someone you are close to understand you so well. <3
Donnie and April
✨️THE SASS QUEENS!✨️ I like to call them Banana Pancakes duo. They are just so sassy towards each other. It shows how comfortable they are with each other. I believe April is good for Donnie by calling him out and helping him with emotions, and Donnie is good for April by just being her best friend. She really needed one. Also, I love how they are always protective of each other. (This also just gives siblings.) They seem to get along very well, and I think they are very grateful for each other. <3
Mikey and Donnie
PB&J Duo are just adorable. (they remind me of my sister and me, especially when we were younger) I just love their dynamic! Donnie is so protective and supportive of Mikey. All the turtles have such a soft spot for Mikey, but something about Donnie and Mikey just warm my heart. I like how Mikey is like Donnie's little shadow and also helps him with emotions. I feel like Mikey genuinely just enjoys Donnie's company, and whether Donnie will admit it or not he enjoys being around Mikey as well. <3
Raph and Mikey
Sunset Duo gives me all the feels. I believe whenever Raph is emotionally unstable, Mikey is there for him. And whenever Mikey needs someone strong, Raph is there to lift him up. Raph is like the foundation of home, and Mikey is the hearth. They care about each other so much, but also in order to grow they need to learn how to be more independent. It is hard having to be less reliant on someone you love, but you get to learn more about yourself as an individual. That doesn't mean you love that person any less. <3
~•~
I love fanfiction revolving around all of them when it comes to longer stories. (I May Be Invisible, But I Still Look Good by Dandy on ao3 has MY HEART! 💙 I recommend you read it if you haven't!) It's fun to watch how they work as a team and to see how their personalities/talents contribute. It is also nice to get those one-on-one moments. Of course, comics and fanart are my primary source of substance. Om nom nom.
Although, I would say Turtle Tots is my favorite form of TMNT. I love exploring ideas of when they were little.
Thank you for asking, this was fun!

Truth or Dare?
Raphael x Reader
Author: Admin Mo
Summary: When Mikey needs another actor for his film project, Raph gets roped into it. He didn’t, however, expect for his costar to be so cool.
Note: There are not NEARLY enough college au fics for the bayverse boys, so have this as my first contribution. <3
Warnings: Swears, mentions of drinking, plenty of fluff

“Raph, PLEEEEEAAAASE!!!” Mikey folded his hands together, pleading. “We need actors for our project and our group members can’t be in it.”
Mikey, as part of his endeavor to explore every creative program at the university the turtles were currently attending, was taking a filmmaking class. And, as a part of that class, he and his fellow classmates were required to make short projects in order to learn the basics of filmmaking, from writing to directing to using the equipment to editing. As an added bonus because his professor was so especially cruel, none of the people in his group could appear in his project, and while they had managed to recruit some of their classmates to fill in the smaller roles, one of the main roles was still unclaimed.
Raph scoffed. “Mikey, you know I can’t act for shit.”
“You don’t have to actually be good at it!” He pleaded. “You should see some of the other projects. No one in the program is good at acting.”
Raph was quiet for a second, his large arms crossed in front of him, thinking. “How long is it gonna take?”
“Few hours.” Mikey shrugged. He raised an eyebrow. “And your costar is really, really hot.”
Raph sighed, disgruntled. “When?”
“YES! DUDE THANK YOU SO MUCH! YOU WON’T REGRET IT!” Mikey ran and returned with a script and a schedule, shoving it into his older brother’s hands. “We film tomorrow!”
Raph’s eyes widened. “TOMORROW?!”
***
Raph went with Mikey to where the rest of his group was meeting to film their project. He hadn’t really had time to look at the script and Mikey assured him that they’d be filming in small enough chunks that he wouldn’t need to have very much memorized at a time. He also didn’t really know what kind of movie it was and he didn’t care; he just couldn’t wait until it was over.
A few minutes after they arrived, so did his costar. And god, he couldn’t stop staring. Mikey was right. God, why was Mikey always right?
“I am so sorry I’m late. The bus almost hit a pedestrian and it was a whole thing.” You apologized.
“Don’t worry about it!” Mikey waved off your concern. “This is my brother, Raph.”
“Nice to meet you, Raph. I’m (Y/N).” You introduced, a warm smile on your face.
Raph didn’t miss the way your eyes lingered on him, but instead of the looks disdain he usually got, instead it seemed to be curiosity. Awe, even? Weird, he decided, but not unwelcome.
It was a long, awkward moment before he realized he’d better respond. “Oh, uh, nice to meet you too.”
“Um, you guys can get to know each other a little better. We’ve gotta get the equipment set up.” Mikey said, leaving the two of you on your own.
The filming location was a place you were very familiar with: the library. Particularly, in front of the cozy little coffee shop in the library.
“I didn’t really, uh, look at the script, but I’m guessing they needed a monster for a horror movie or something…” Raph flipped through the pages, skimming.
“It’s a rom com.” You corrected quietly. “I’m the main character. You’re the love interest.”
If Raph could physically blush, he was sure his cheeks would rival the color of his mask. “…Oh.”
“Is that alright?” You asked.
“Oh! Yeah, yeah it’s fine, I just…” He chuckled to himself. “I ain’t ever acted in anything before, let alone anything romantic.”
“It’s not too much, I don’t think.” You reassured him. “I’m pretty sure the most they’ll have us do is awkwardly brush hands. It’s a coffee shop meet-cute.”
“Gotcha.” And while he was relieved, he was also a little…disappointed? Huh. Weird. “So, uh, what’s yer major?”
“I’m a film major. I’m in Mikey’s class and they needed actors, so I’m paying it forward in case I need someone in my project. What’s yours?”
“I’m undecided. Just, uh, taking some time to figure things out, you know. I never really had any…school experience before this.”
“That’s a lot to adjust to.”
“Yeah, it is. I’m getting used to it, though.”
“That’s good! If you need any help with anything, let me know. I’ve picked up a bunch of good tips and tricks.”
He chuckled. “I will, thanks.”
“Do you have snapchat?”
“Yeah, I do.”
“One second.” You fished your phone out of your bag and unlocked it, opening the app to your snapcode, which he scanned and added you. “There you go.”
“Thanks.”
“Of course.”
Raph took some more time reading over the script to get the gist of the scene and you were right. Indeed, it was a rom com. Not his preferred genre, by any means, but maybe he’d warm up to it a bit over the course of the day.
“Hey (Y/N)?” Mikey called from over where they had the camera set up on the tripod. “Do you know how to white-balance this thing? Everything is orange for some reason. Which is a great color, but I’m sure Smith will dock us points for it.”
“Oh, I’ve got you.” You nodded. You looked up at Raph, your purse in hand. “Will you hold this for a second?”
“Uh, yeah. Sure.” He nodded, holding out a giant three-fingered hand to take the bag from you. He watched you walk over to where the rest of the group was standing, crowded around the camera. You worked your magic, shuffling through the menu and helping adjust the camera correctly. Raph couldn’t stop staring. You looked so focused. So passionate. He could tell you really liked film and everything it entailed and he wished he could just find something he cared about as much as you cared about your major.
“Awesome.” He heard Mikey say, his eyes fixed on the camera’s screen. “Thanks!”
“Of course!” You walked back over to where Raph was and he handed you your bag back. “Thank you.”
“Yeah, no problem.” He opened his mouth to say something else, but Mikey walked over to the two of you.
“You guys ready? I think we’re good to start now.”
“All set.” You confirmed, giving him a thumbs-up, and Raph nodded.
***
Raph might have to reconsider his stance on this acting thing. Did he think he was all that good at it? No. But so long as he had you as a costar, he’d act willingly in any project Mikey (or you) needed him for. And at the end of the shoot, he ended up having a really good time. So much so that when you guys were all done, he was…sad. Like, really sad about it.
You parted ways. You weren’t in any of his classes, so Raph wasn’t really sure if he’d see you around that much. And he didn’t see you around…until a few weeks later.
He was at the library studying with his brothers at their favorite table when suddenly, his phone buzzed, a message from snapchat coming in. He looked at the notification, doing a double-take when he read your name there. And when he reached to answer it, he moved too fast and knocked his shell-shaped cell phone off of the table.
Shit.
He bent down to pick it up and when he opened the snapchat, he was surprised to see…the back of his shell? It was captioned: “I spy with my little eye…Something red and green 😉”
Immediately, he whipped around, and sure enough, nestled in a table by the windows was you, looking at him over the top of your laptop screen. You giggled when he spotted you, waving.
Raph nudged Mikey, who was sitting across from him and Mikey traced Raph’s eyeline to where you were, his face immediately lighting up.
“Oh! Hey (Y/N)!” Mikey waved. “You wanna sit with us?”
“Is that alright?”
“Hell yeah!” Mikey motioned you over. “The more the merrier! We can pull up a chair over here on the end.”
So, you gathered your stuff while the guys rearranged some things, putting you on the end of the table, right between Mikey and Raph. When you got over there, you noticed they were sitting with the other two giant mutated turtles on campus, who you had heard of, but hadn’t met yet.
“(Y/N), these are our brothers. Leo’s over there in the blue, our fearless leader. And this is Donatello, the one we go to for homework help.”
“Not tonight you aren’t. This paper is due at midnight and it is…” Donnie glanced down at the clock on his laptop and as soon as he did, he started typing impossibly faster. “Eleven thirty-seven. Do not look at me or breathe in my direction.”
“Noted.” Mikey nodded, a trace of fear in his eyes.
“Nice to meet you, (Y/N). You’re in one of Mikey’s classes, right?”
“Yep! I’m in his film class.” You smiled, taking a sip of your iced coffee. “I got the pleasure of costarring with this one.” You nudged Raph lightly, causing him to smile the most genuine smile Mikey had ever seen on his older brother’s face.
Huh. Mikey took note, something devious stirring in the back of his mind. Interesting…
“What did you get on that, by the way?” You asked.
“We got an A! Well, Minus. But you know how Smith is.”
“Dude that’s awesome!” You bumped your fist against his. “Good job. I’m pretty sure my group got a B, but we’re not mad about it. C’s get degrees, as they say.”
“Cheers to that.” Leo chuckled.
“What are you working on today, Raph?” You asked, tilting your head in a way that sent his heart racing in a way he could not explain.
“I have a paper for my Writing 150 class.”
“Oof that sucks. Who do you have?”
“Trainor.”
“Ouch. She hated me.” You grimaced, shaking your head. “She found out I was bi and it was all over for me.”
“Did you report her? I’m pretty sure you can report her for that sort of thing.” Raph asked, trying not to get heated over it. He was pretty sure she didn’t like him very much either, but it was probably due to the fact that he was a giant green turtle. “That’s bullshit.”
“I’m in the process of that right now.” You nodded. “She’s a bitch. I don’t know if they’ll actually do anything about it though.”
“Keep me posted. I might file something too if she doesn’t stop glaring at me during class.” Raph grumbled. “It’s annoying.”
“That would be annoying. Her beady little eyes glaring at you for two agonizing hours of ‘This is how to correctly use a comma’.”
He chuckled. “Yeah. It is.”
You glanced at your phone, which buzzed with a text from one of your roommates. “Oh! Uh, do you guys have any plans this weekend?”
“Nope. Why?” Mikey asked, curiosity seeping into his voice.
“My roommate is throwing a party, if you guys wanna come. It’ll be pretty chill. Drinks, pizza, some music.”
“Oh hell yes.” Mikey nodded. He looked at Leo. “Leo, can we?”
“I don’t see why not.” Leo shrugged. “Sounds like a good time.”
“Is there a dress code?” Mikey asked. Now that he was finally allowed to socialize, he didn’t want to fuck it up.
“Nope. Just casual. Come as you are.”
“Do you need us to bring anything?”
“If you guys have a drink of choice, bring that, I guess, but otherwise, my roommate’s boyfriend works at a pizza place, so we get a pretty good discount and we have literally so much wine.”
“That’s amazing.” Mikey nodded, making a mental note to look into jobs at a pizza place later.
“We’ll bring a veggie tray.” Donnie said, his fingers flying across the keyboard of his laptop until finally, he stopped. “I finished, by the way.”
“Good job, dude!” Mikey gave him a thumbs up. “You wanna write mine next?”
“Ha.” Donnie stared at him. “Funny.”
“What’s your paper on, Raph? Maybe I can help.”
Raph turned his laptop towards you. “We have to write it about like growing up. You can, uh, read it if you want. I don’t mind. I’m kinda stuck right now anyway.”
“Okay.” You agreed, switching his laptop for yours. You winked. “Trade ya.”
“What are you writing about?” He asked, scrolling to the top of your document.
“Women in Film.” You shot finger guns at him. “I’m about to make some Film Bois REALLLL mad.”
“Roast ‘em, (Y/N).” Mikey laughed, knowing all too well exactly which film boys you were talking about. He was not a fan.
“That’s the plan.” You chuckled and then started reading over Raph’s paper. You had known before meeting them that they hadn’t exactly had the best childhood, but…wow was it eye-opening reading the experience from his eyes. “Holy shit.”
“That bad?” He joked, trying to read your expression.
“No, it’s…Raph, this is really good, but wow. You guys went through a lot, huh?”
“Yeah…” He shrugged. “It wasn’t all bad, but it sure wasn’t normal by any means.”
“Mmm…” You nodded, looking up at him. “I mean, normal is kinda overrated.”
He chuckled. “I’m glad ya think so. Not many people do.”
You shrugged, smiling softly. “Well, it’s a good thing I’m not like many people.”
***
“(Y/N), this place is as clean as it’s gonna get. It’s a party. It’ll be messed up in,” your roommate, Haley, glanced down at her watch, “like twenty minutes.”
“I know, I just…I’m nervous. These guys are basically superheroes. I want to make a good impression.”
“Fair point.”
You swept the kitchen floor and got out the cutest paper plates you had in the cupboard as well as some solo cups and plastic wine glasses. If you could avoid broken glass today, that was probably the move.
The doorbell buzzed and your heart raced, but it was just your other roommate’s boyfriend with the pizza.
“Is Darcy here?” He asked.
“She’s upstairs getting ready, you explained, helping him get the pizza and breadsticks and everything set up on the counter. He’d also brought a few two-liters of Pepsi, which was good. You put it next to the giant jug of fruit punch you’d bought at the grocery store. It was important to make sure your non-drinking friends had something to drink, too.
A few minutes after, guests started arriving. Darcy came downstairs and started up her iconic party playlist. Your neighbors popped in. It was easier to invite them and let them have a good time with you than have them call security on you guys for throwing a party, even if it was the weekend and it was only nine.
You turned off the lamps in the living room and instead set your strip lights to party mode, causing them to cycle through a bunch of colors in time with the music. It was then that the doorbell rang again and you rushed to the mirror to check yourself once more. You adjusted your hair, straightened out your top, and checked your teeth for food. Nope, you were good.
So, with the rest of the hosts distracted, you opened the door. On the other side of it were four tall, green gentlemen, one of them carrying a veggie tray.
“Hey guys, come on in!”
You moved out of the way so they could step inside.
Mikey’s eyes widened, looking into the living room full of dancing college kids. “Woahhhhh this is awesome!”
“Glad you think so.” You laughed. “There’s food and drinks in here, the bathroom is in the hallway, and everyone else seems to be either in the living room or the back yard.”
“Where do you want this veggie tray?” Donnie asked.
“Thank you so much for bringing this, by the way! You can set it over by the pizza boxes. I can get a spoon for the dip.” You said, walking towards the silverware drawer and producing a spoon while Donnie popped the lid off of the plastic serving tray and opened up the dip. You handed him the spoon.
The guys were each sporting their signature color, but they were wearing clothes you hadn’t seen them in before. Usually, Raph liked to wear a large gray hoodie, but today, he was sporting a black t-shirt and an impossibly large red flannel with some jeans. It looked good on him. Like, really good.
Apparently, he was thinking the same thing, because as soon as you were free, he walked up to you and nudged you gently. “You look really good.”
Your cheeks flushed with warmth and you wished you could blame it on wine, but you hadn’t even had a sip yet. “Thanks. You clean up pretty nice yourself.”
Had you worn a red top on purpose? Yes, absolutely. Would you admit to it, though? No, definitely not.
But Mikey noticed. Oh, Mikey noticed everything. And he couldn’t help but think that you and his older brother would make quite the couple. Maybe there was something he could do to just…give it a little push.
***
The time came later, when the party was finally starting to wind down. Some people had left. Your neighbors had gone home, and you’d switched the strip lights to a light, warm color. You’d also switched the upbeat party playlist for something chill to play in the background. The remaining partygoers were all settled in a circle in the living room, eating whatever pizza was left, sipping on box wine, and playing a game of truth or dare.
“Haley, truth or dare?” Darcy challenged.
“Truth.”
“Okay…Fuck, Marry, Kill: Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and…..Chris Pine.”
“DAMN.” She cursed. “You can’t do that to me. Shit. Uh…Fuck Chris…Hemsworth. Marry Chris…Pine? And—”
“Don’t you do it!” You warned.
“Kill Chris Evans.”
“Noooooooooo!” You whined, taking a sip of your drink. The rest of the group laughed. “Poor Captain America.”
“Rest in pieces, Cap.” She agreed, shaking her head. “Okay…Mikey, truth or dare.”
“Dare.” Mikey answered quickly. He always picked dare, so in the fifth round of the game, it wasn’t much of a surprise.
“I dare you…to take a shot of straight lemon juice.”
“Easy peasy.” Mikey scoffed, pouring himself a shot and downing it.
You watched as his face contorted at the sour, sour taste. You couldn’t help but giggle a little at that.
“Good job, Mikey.” Donnie laughed, dipping a piece of broccoli in dip before popping it into his mouth.
“Taking it like a champ.” Leo added, nodding.
“Alright, my turn?” Mikey asked, looking around the circle for his victim, pretending he hadn’t been planning this since round one. “(Y/N). Truth or dare?”
You thought about it for a second. How easy it would be to just choose truth again, but for some reason, you were feeling a little brave, so instead, you picked, “Dare.”
“Oooooooh,” the circle said, all of them a little surprised by that choice.
“Okay. Alright.” Mikey rubbed his hands together mischievously. All according to plan. “I dare you to kiss the hottest person in the room.”
“OOOOOOOHHHH!” The circle all stared at you and you thought for a second, a smirk settling on your features.
“Oh that’s easy.” You got up and crossed the circle until you were standing in front of Raph. Even sitting down, he was almost your height. “Think I could get a kiss?”
Raph stared up at you, shocked, waiting for you to say Sike! HAHA! Did you actually think I thought you were hot?! Loser!
But you never did, instead looking down at him with sincerity, patience. Were you a little…nervous, even?
“Why me?” He whispered, his eyes fixed on you. There were plenty of good-looking human guys still there, and yet you were certain. Unwavering. Then, louder, he asked, his heart absolutely fighting to get out of his chest, “Are you sure?”
“Positive.” You nodded, starting to lean closer. Once you were most of the way in, you let him meet you in the middle, your soft human lips meeting his, which were, you had to admit, way softer than you thought they would be.
Raphael kissed you like you were made of glass, like if he moved too fast, you would shatter. It was his first kiss, after all, and he didn’t want to fuck it up.
When it finally ended, you walked back to your seat in the circle, your cheeks rosy, heart racing. Haley gave you a nudge and you giggled, your stomach filled with butterflies. The rest of the game went along with little fanfare, and once everyone was tired enough, the apartment cleared out even more, leaving just your roommates, Darcy’s boyfriend, and the turtles, who insisted on helping clean everything up. Well, it had been Leo’s idea, but the rest had agreed to stick around to help.
You volunteered to go out into the backyard to pick up all of the stray solo cups and White Claw cans. You hated litter. You worked out there alone for a bit. As you bent down to pick up the last can you heard the signature screech of the sliding door opening.
Raph squeezed through the narrow doorway, cursing his shell for making him so damn wide.
“Hey,” you said softly, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear. Your voice was almost swallowed up by the sounds of the choir of crickets outside.
“Hey.” He closed the sliding door. “Can we talk?”
“Yeah, of course.” You nodded, tying off the trash bag you were using to collect garbage. “How was your first college party?”
“It was great. Really, really great.” He said, taking slow steps through the grass towards you. “Um…I…did you mean what you said? Earlier.”
“What do you mean?”
“When you…was I really…” he laughed at the absurdity of it. “You think I’m hot?”
“I do.” You nodded. “Of course I do.”
“I’m sorry if I find that a little hard to believe.” He shook his head, stopping right in front of you. When he was standing in front of you like this, he was remined of just how big he was compared to you, just how much he towered over you. Just how different you were. “I’m just used to the opposite reaction.”
“Believe it.” You reached forward and took his hand in yours, gripping one of his giant green fingers.
“I’m trying to.” He chuckled and fiddled with your little hand, nervous. “You know, uh…that was my first kiss in there. I wasn’t too awful, was I?”
“I didn’t mean to steal your first one.” You laughed softly. “Sorry. But to answer your question, I thought it was perfect.”
“That’s a relief.” He was quiet for a moment, thinking. “Uh…If it’s alright with ya…I’d like to give you my second kiss, too.”
Instead of answering, you took another step closer, looking up, up, up into his piercing green eyes. “You’re gonna have to come down here; I can’t reach.”
He laughed. “Right.” Raph craned his neck down, one of his large hands tilting your face up towards his so he could meet you in the middle for another perfect kiss.
***
“What are you doing?” Leo asked Mikey, who was peering through the blinds into the back yard of the apartment.
Mikey only grinned proudly, nodding to himself. “Works every time…”

Happy Valentines Day!
Request: Hey since tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, think we can have a Rottmnt special? Like crush made them homemade chocolate and shyly gives it to them? ✨✨ pretty please! 🙏
Pairing: All, Non-Poly. (Raphael, Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, & April O’Neil.)
Content Warnings: None! Except for swearing?? I don’t know if people still tag for swears or not </3
Word Count: 1658
You thank the universe that nobody could hear your heartbeat, for if they could, the world would surely fall apart at the intensity of its beats. Your face burns hot, and your body shakes with each step you take. You pray to every deity you can think of that you don’t drop the chocolate you stayed up all night making. Pan after pan and recipe after recipe lead you to this moment, finally finding the perfect concoction. That’s what you tell yourself, at least. No, it is perfect! Right? Fuck, what’s the backup plan if he doesn’t like it? Should you scrap it? Should you have brought some for everyone? You’re so lost in your thought, you hardly recognize your surroundings as you step into the lair. An enthusiastic “hey!” from your friends seals your fate: there’s no turning back now. No second-guessing.
You’re gonna give it to them.
Raphael:
He’s so excited!! Chocolate? For him? From his crush?
He actually has to ask if you’re serious first, he can’t help it. Like really? Ethereal you made him homemade chocolate? He has to be dreaming.
“Are you sure you’re not confusing me for someone else? Not that I’m saying I don’t want it! Wait hold on, this isn’t coming out right-”
Raph what other giant, anthropomorphic snapping turtles do we know???
He smiles so big when you manage to stammer out that yes, this is for him, and he cradles the package so gently too. He’s such a sweetheart.
He actually made you something too!
He puts the box down gently before going to his room to grab it.
It’s a small handmade card with a little bouquet of wildflowers! (White trillium and starflower to be exact. He thought they were really pretty.) The bouquet is tied loosely with a red ribbon, pulled gently into a bow.
He was so nervous about giving it to you, that he actually wasn’t planning to at all! He’s had everything planned for weeks, but his anxiety kept getting the better of him. But getting something from you was exactly the kind of encouragement he needed to take that final leap.
He’s so flustered when he hands it over, and the way his hands shake makes you feel a little less shy. Maybe he does feel the same way?
Two shy dorks in love <3
Leonardo:
Yoo, for real? For him? Hell yeah, thank you!
He’s really confident on the outside. Like, he’s so excited and accepting about it it’s unreal. All of your anxieties melt away, as they tend to do around him, and you can’t even remember why you were so stressed in the first place! It’s Leo, after all.
He’s dying (in a good way) on the inside though. He’s just internally screaming. Holy shit his crush is giving him chocolate? And it’s homemade? Oh my god look at that tiny white chocolate drizzle, that’s so cute!! Is that a strawberry?? MANY thoughts, head FULL, and in LOVE.
(He’s gonna hardcore brag about it to his brothers later.)
His heart is pounding out of his chest, although he doesn’t divulge that information.
He asks you out right then and there. Like!!!
He doesn’t actually say the word “date,” but god. You’re suddenly all shy again, and you can’t do anything but nod furiously.
The date is super casual, (yes its at Hueso’s. He begs him to pull out all of the stops, and he does so, even if only to shut up Leo. Actual king <3)  and it really puts you at ease. At some point he moves to hold your hand, and you can’t help the way your heart leaps into your throat. And he'd be lying if he didn’t feel the same way.
His confession is so eloquent, and yet… dorky. Sweet. Like he’s rehearsed it a million times, trying to find the best possible words to win your heart. Little did he know, he’s always had it.
Donatello:
oh no
He didn’t plan for this. Like, this was literally the one thing he didn’t plan for.
(He has confidence issues, give him a break!! How could he have known that you were going to give him something too? And give it first as well?? Which sets a precedent for the gift he gives?? Social interactions are Awful and he’s in Hell.)
He’s still pleasantly surprised though!
He kind of short-circuits for a moment, and he’s completely deadpan for at least three seconds. It’s the worst couple seconds of your life. Then he comes back to reality and thanks you super genuinely.
(It’s hard to read him at the best of times, and this is. So much. He just doesn’t know what to do with himself!!!)
He takes his time looking at every detail on the chocolates, and your anxiety dies down as you see the softest smile grace his features. It’s so genuine, and you don’t even think he knows he is smiling, so it’s really reassuring.
You take the time to really study his features, and fuck, he’s really pretty. You’re both flustered when you guys come back to reality.
He made you a gift too!! In fact, he has a whole day planned out.
It’s a long and fun day of running around the Hidden City, and at night, in New York.
It’s incredible.
He’s confident, and he says all the right things. He’s had this night planned out for weeks, and fuck if it doesn’t shine through.
At the end of the night, he gives you his gift with averted eyes. It’s a strange contrast to the pure exciting, confident persona he’s been putting on all day.
It’s handmade, and tailored to your exact interests and equipped with his own, Donatello-Style flair.
He’s confident in his tech, and he knows you like the back of his hand, but this is… completely new territory.
Valentine’s Day has never been so perfect.
Michelangelo
He did the same thing, actually!!! So this is actually so perfect for him!!
He spent all night making the perfect chocolates. Most of them are filled, and those that aren’t have some unique, artistic drizzle adorning them. If you hadn’t known better, you would have thought he got them from a fancy chocolate place.
He genuinely can’t contain his excitement when you hand him the box all shyly. His eyes light up with the brightness of a dying star going supernova.
He immediately hugs you, careful not to crush the chocolates, and then his mouth is moving at a mile a minute. It’s almost hard to keep up!! He’s just so happy and excited, and he’s running to the kitchen and he has a box too??? Hello, what’s going on??
He’s trying so hard to not just blurt out a confession here and now.
It’s completely impromptu, but he suggests going out on the town. He didn’t plan it, he was honestly just planning to stay in and watch some movies with you, but now that you’ve brought him a Valentine’s Day gift too? That means you like him too right, maybe?
If he’s gonna confess to you, it’s sure as hell not gonna be in a sewer. (Even if it is his home. It just ain’t right, man!)
It’s really fun! You feel so at home with him, and there’s no pressure at all.
Everything just seems to fall into place around him. He’s your home. Unbeknownst to you, he feels the exact same way.
He confesses by the end of the night. It’s so sweet and sincere, but there isn’t a single moment of hesitation. He’s so head over heels for you, and that love shows itself in every movement and word.
April
She’s never been given chocolates before!! She’s always looked on in envy through middle school, highschool, at work, etc. So fuck, if she’s not immediately swarmed with emotion. She’s like, two seconds away from crying. I love her so much…
It’s actually really funny, because she ordered a really nice bouquet of ivory & pink flowers from her local flower shop for you, but they hadn’t arrived yet! She’s super upfront with it, and it gets a good laugh out of both of you. The classic April O’Neil luck, ey?
It definitely lightens the mood, and she suggests going out to a local restaurant to get lunch, and then maybe go sightseeing! Or maybe just goof around in the Hidden City? No pressure!
It’s super fun! You never want the night to end, to be quite honest.
You get to choose the music while you guys drive around, and you end up picking the silliest stuff. You guys laugh and belt out the lyrics to every song.
The food at the restaurant is perfect, and everything goes off without a hitch. At some point she reaches across the table to interlock fingers with you, and you’re suddenly alight with so much love and recognition that this is an official date, and your best friend - your crush - is holding hands with you, and her hand is so soft and warm and… you’re so in love. And unbeknownst to you, she’s feeling the exact same strain of emotion.
At the end of the night she takes you to a rainy spot in the Hidden City, and you guys dance and sing in the rain.
Everything feels so natural and perfect with her. She’s your safe space, your home, your world.
You can barely stand to part at the end of the night.
When you do get back to your home, you find her gift at your front door. It’s a beautiful bouquet of white Gardenias, pink Carnations, pink Peonies, and… a white Lily. They stand perfectly in a vase, apparently left at your doorstep by the delivery driver. You place them on your kitchen counter as soon as you can, and text her immediately.
You love her with all your heart, and she’s head over heels for you, too.

Chapter 9 - Dinner Drama!
Summary: The Splintersons have a look around the home and then try to enjoy their dinner with their hosts.

After a swift perimeter check to ease their nerves, the visitors finally started to settle into the lair. It was still so new, so enclosed, that Leo couldn’t see himself being comfortable any time soon. Not until he could confidently locate all the exits, and all the entrances, and where weapons were stored. Not until everything was as secure and as open as his lair was. It wasn’t his right to change the place, but it was his right to not feel comfortable when there were so many places enemies could be hiding unseen. So many dark corners, concealed cubbies that could be hiding threats. So much potential for danger.
When Leo got an opportunity alone with Leonardo, he immediately knew what he wanted to ask. “Hey Leonardo, is your Raph still… you know, calling the shots?”
Leonardo had been anticipating that question all day. He gave a pointedly loud sigh and rolled his eyes as he slumped around to be facing his counterpart, “You ask that every time we see each other. You know that?”
Leo felt his cheek grow hot and his head shrank slightly. Trying to save face, he was quick to defend himself. “Well— a lot can change in six months!”
“Six months…” Leonardo sighed again, and this time it was more genuine and heavy. The revelation of just how long it had been washed over him like an icy bucket of water. Yes, it had been six months, hadn’t it? The time seemed to slip away from him. “Yeah… and a lot has changed. But that hasn’t.”
“I just figured… your whole situation would have changed by now. Especially with you boys growing up.” Leo made an effort to explain, awkward now that he knew he was wrong in his assumption. And he had been so certain too! Since he and his brothers had arrived, Leonardo was acting so confident, so much like a leader! Had Leo just imagined all that?
“Well you figured wrong.” Leonardo said, and now his voice had a defensive edge, “Raphael is just as capable as ever. He is and will always be our leader. Do you have a problem with that?”
“No, no, not at all!” Leo put his hands up in an offering of peace, “i was just wondering.”
“Yeah.” Leonardo made sure to side-check Leo as he passed, “Sure you were.”
~~~
“Hey little Mike, you got a minute?” Raph waved at the smaller version of his brother.
Michelangelo looked back, and then skipped over to Raph while humming a happy, upbeat tune. “You’re really risking it all by calling me little again~! What do you need?”
“Er…” It took Raph a second to brush past the threat laced into the happy voice, “Just… y’know… I saw a pool during the tour and was wonderin’ if it was recreational or jus’ for training?”
“Well we usually swim laps in it for warmups, but I don’t see why you couldn’t swim whenever. We got floaties if you need ‘em! Mine have sharks on them!”
Raph grinned. “Do they now?”
Michelangelo nodded eagerly. “Yeah! I’m not allowed to go in the pool without them cause I can’t swim so good.”
“Aw.” Raph nodded along, “That’s too bad.”
“Yeah! I‘m too heavy— I sink like a rock! Can you swim?”
“Eh, more or less.” Raph gave a so-so motion. “If my life depended on it, sure. Never really had much access to water that wasn’t a cesspool or Amazon river.” He shivered at the memory of being dropped in the water, the current pulling him and his brothers along like they were little more than skipping stones.
“Oo! Sounds fun!” Michelangelo chirped, “But do be mindful of Piebald; she likes to swim in there sometimes!”
“Piebald?”
“Oh, she’s a mutant goldfish. She was dad’s pet, but then we flushed her and she mutated and then pretended to hunt us with a hook, but it was really all just an elaborate prank from her and dad to punish us for lying.”
Raph stared. “Oh.”
“Yeah, but she’s totally nice now and not at all sadistic and revenge-driven! No worries.”
“Wasn’t worried at all.” Raph lied.
~~~
After their quick assessment, Leonardo and Donnie had come to the decision that Mikey needed the simplest medicine of all: rest. Raphael had been more than happy to stay with Mikey until the turtles could adjust to the new environment, but exactly when that would happen was anyone's guess. Mikey was sat in Raphael’s bed, wrapped in the snappers heaviest comfort blanket and hugging Cheech as he listened to the snapper chatter with all the joy of a child. Klunk had settled in and was sleeping on Mikey’s lap in a tight orange ball, purring to his hearts content.
“Oh oh oh!” Mikey chirped quickly, “Tell me more about the capybara tell me more about the capybaraaa!”
“His name’s Todd.” Raphael indulged, “He owns a puppy farm in the woods near here.”
“Puppies..” Mikey sniffled softly and hugged Cheech tighter, “This day just keeps getting better and better. Are he and the mantis friends?”
“Todd’s friends with everyone.” Raphael answered.
“Oh my gaaaawwdd…” Mikey fell back down on his carapace, laughing weakly as he stared up at the ceiling. “That’s awesome…”
Raph moved to carefully reposition Cheech in a way that Mikey could still hug him while laying down, fixing the blanket and pillows to make sure the shinobi was as comfortable as possible. Mikey’s eyes were closed now, the stuffed bear drawn to his chest as he laid peacefully. Raphael stood slowly and made his way to the door.
The moment Raphael’s hand touched the handle, Mikey sat up straight. “Where are you going?”
“Oh— sorry. I thought you were asleep.” Raphael said, and he returned to Mikey’s side.
Mikey settled back into the bed, cuddling deeper into the blankets and giving a series of high pitched chirps that eventually faded to nothing. Raphael gave it a few more minutes before slowly getting up and going to leave again.
Like Dracula out of his coffin, Mikey sat up again and spoke so suddenly that Raphael couldn’t help but flinch. “What about the other mutants?”
Raphael took a deep breath as he spun around on his heels to face the turtle who still wasn’t asleep. “What do you wanna about them?”
Mikey grinned. “Everything!”
***

Donnie didn't think anything could top him meeting Shelldon that night— and then he saw Donatello’s lab for the first time. The beautifully artistic designs mixed with a generally futuristic style made for a gorgeous display of technological genius . Just like Donnie’s own lab, Donatello had several screens activated at once, scanners and alarms and traps all set to be activated at the simple trip of a sensor. The entire room was lit up in a peculiar violet hue, almost as if it was under one big black light. If that was the case, then Donatello certainly kept his room spotless.
“Oh my kami…” Donnie gulped, his eyes emeralds in the darkness. “Can I live here? I wanna live here…”
“You gotta pay rent.” Donatello said.
“I’d give anything to have my lab like this!”
“Would you give your right cornea?” Donatello leaned against the wall.
“Eh, my eyes are useless. I would give up a kidney or a gallbladder though.”
“I’ll grab the bone saw.”
“I’ll sign the consent form…”
***
“Dinner is served!” Michelangelo presented a simple dish of pizza gyoza to the table; one could say it was just homemade pizza rolls, but that ruined the magic! Besides, they were more doughy like a dumpling than anything crunchy.
The two families were gathered around and eager to eat, seated around two tables that had been pressed together to make enough room for ten diners; each set of brothers were on opposite sides of the table, while the heads of the table were reserved for the Splinter’s. The absence of one of the two fathers didn't go unnoticed.
“Itadakimasu.” Splinter said to the proud Michelangelo, “The food looks delicious. Won’t your father be joining us?”
Another chill came to the room. Another exchange of unsettled looked.
“Dad asked not to be disturbed.” Leonardo said simply.
The Hamato family turned their eyes to their food, working with the same mind to scarf down the gyoja as fast as possible, filling their mouths so they wouldn’t have to speak. The Splinterson family took the same opportunity to look around at each other, all but Mikey having the same, constricted looks on their faces; Mikey was already lost in his own mind, his eyes blank as he smiled and shoveled the offered dinner into his mouth.
“Surely your father would prefer to eat his supper while it is still hot?” Splinter insisted.
Raphael stood abruptly. His plastron bumped into the table and made the dishes clink and glasses splash with the force of his motion, but chair screaming as it was pushed back.
“You know what? You’re right.” Raphael hurried to gather another plate and pile it with gyoji, his eyes avoiding Splinter’s as he piled the dinner on a tray with freshly brewed tea. “I’ll bring this to him right away.”
When Raphael left, he took the conversation with him. He returned minutes later but the air of the room remained quiet and tense. Eager to break the silence, Leo finished off the last of his gyoji.
“Gochi sou sama deshita.” He said, and bowed to Michelangelo, “And while I am thankful for your hospitality— we all are— this isn’t a social visit. We really need to get back to our world. Can your gift do that, Donatello?”
“Should be able to.” Donatello said with a nod, “It was designed for two trips, here and back.”
“Great, then what are we waiting for?” Leo looked around for an answer but no one offered one, “Those creatures are still in our world, could be targeting our people, our city!”
“We need a plan first Leo.” Donnie tried to reason, “We can’t just run in blind.”
“Then we should be planning instead of just hanging out!”
“Can’t plan on an empty stomach.” Michelangelo said, pointing his chopsticks at Leo. “We’re eating!”
A sharp hiss came from Leo’s throat. “Don’t. Point. It’s rude.”
Michelangelo put his chopsticks back down and shrank away from the violent hiss, the retreat as instinctual to him as going into his shell.
“Leonardo…” Splinter tried to reason, “Please settle down and allow us to have a nice supper before discussing.”
“But we need to discuss this now!”
Leo’s disobedience of his father made his brothers gasp, Raph pulling back slightly while Mikey even broke out of his minds wandering to tune back in. Leo flinched at his backtalk and fell into a quick, clumsy bow.
“Shitsurei shimashita, sensei.” Leo said in a low voice before regaining his composure, “I just feel like these guys aren’t taking this situation seriously.”
“And I feel like you expect us to pull a solution out of our asses.” Leonardo hissed back.
“Now now, there’s no need for vulgarity…” Splinter tried.
“I’m not suggesting that you have the answers, I suggesting we need to find them instead of doing house tours!” Leo snarled back.
“If you don’t like it, you can get out.” Leonardo didn't back down.
“Leo, it’s fine, cool it.” Donnie tried to mediate, grabbing a hold of his brother’s arm; he was almost convinced Leo might lunge over the table at his smaller counterpart if this went on for much longer.
“I am cool!” Leo pulled his arm free, knocking Donnie back in the process. That got Raph involved, the box turtle standing up ready to confront his brother. Before he got so much as a word out, however…
“Everybody COOL IT!” Raphael slammed his fists down on the table.
The table splintered under Raphael’s slamming weight, chips of wood flying out like dangerous projectiles. The words, with all the force of a hurricane knocking trees out from their roots, brought a silent stalemate. Raphael looked pissed. His eyes were white, entire body like a taut wire that would snap at the slightest breaths. His nostrils flares, and when he had screamed, white, foaming spittle flew across the table. Now, it dripped down his lopsided jaw and chin.
“Not another word.” Raphael said, this time calmer as he left the table once more. All eyes followed him to the doorway to find a small, gray rat standing there watching them.
Yoshi’s mouth was pulled down in a tight frown, eyes glossy. His paws, shaky as they were, held his tray of dirty dishes that he had been intent on cleaning; for now, he just… stared. His fur seemed several shades paler, his hair tangled and unkept, and though it was hard to tell through the clothes. he looked skinny. The mutant looked around at the table, at the turtles and the rat he had paid many visits to, but when his eyes passed over them they held no recollection. No memory. Just dark confusion, empty and cold.
“Dad…” Leonardo said softly, but at Raphael’s threatening chuff, Leonardo said nothing more.
“Hey pops— here, let me get that for you…” Raphael took the tray from his father and hurried over to throw them haphazardly into the sink. He came back after, his massive hand completely engulfing Yoshi’s back to guide the old rat away away. Yoshi followed the snapper at a slow gait, though his feet dragged as if they were made of the heaviest lead and it took a while for him to get anywhere. “Come on, let’s get you back to bed okay?”
Everyone watched as the father and son disappeared out of the dining room, none of them daring to breathe, nonetheless utter a word.

What if in the explosion the brothers got separated?
This is a villain turtle au- if you don’t want to read it you can scroll past! I know it’s a cliche concept but it was fun! And I like doing my own spin on things.
(Note in this au when they’re mutated they are a little older, young kids, as this idea wouldn’t work if they weren’t SEMI competent. They’re still 13, 14, and 15 in modern times, but when they’re first mutated Mikey is 3, Leo and Donnie are 4, and Raph is 5)
Donnie: got scooped up by Draxum in the end, and works as his assistant first, son second. He has a similar position to Foot Recruit; despite being fully capable of actually being useful, he is treated with little respect and does mundane tasks like running errands and fixing random, broken objects. He is trained constantly but is told over and over again that he is “not good enough” yet. Despite this he puts his heart into everything he does. Broken clock? Sure he’ll fix it and it’s got LAZERS now! This causes him to accidentally make problems, and Draxum thinks that Donnie is “a complete and udder fool” which is further from the truth. Villain Donnie is a lot like canon Donnie personality wise but a bit more serious. He does not approve of Draxum’s use of mystic powers, and resents using them himself. He refuses the axe Draxum tries to give him. Draxum has little regard for what Donnie thinks and does, and therefore has an awful relationship with him. And yknow Donnie’s abandonment and self-worth issues? Yeah crank that up to 11. Basically Donnie hates Draxum and the Mystic City, and the Shredder going rouge is the last straw. “WATCH ME! ILL WIPE OUT THE HUMAN THREAT WITHOUT YOUR STUPID MAGIC! YOU HEAR ME BARON DRAXUM- I DEFY YOU!”
Leo: made his way to New York via Senior Hueso. Originally I was going to have him raised by Hueso but then realized it wouldn’t make a lot of sense- so Senior Hueso picks baby Leo up off the streets but ever the wanderer Leo walks right through the GIANT PORTAL IN THE WALL. From there Foot Brute, attempting and failing to find members for the clan, picks up this tiny, promising turtle off the street. “What is that thing?” “I dunno but he’s cute- and we’re in need of members” “That is an actual child” “so?” And then Leo is raised by his two dad- I mean sensei. I put raised lightly. He was treated better than Donnie but he was never given a lot of attention, and therefore turned to causing trouble to get attention. And not just from his dads, from anyone he can. Causing mischief in the city actually helped him in his training, as he became very skilled at sneaking, fighting, and stealing. He butts heads with Foot Recruit a lot because of his constant need for approval and attention. She finds him genuinely annoying while he just views it as “playful teasing.” That comes back to bite him the butt upon meeting Donnie, who comes along to help make form the Shredder armor, but he does not want to be there. Forced to work together, Donnie gets sick of Leo’s crap real fast but they don’t really hate each other, but in the moment they needed to play it off like they did and therefore gave the impression to the other that they DID hate them. Confusing, I know. Draxum tries and fails on multiple occasions to nab Leo but if he does he realizes it’ll put a major dent in his plans. So he forbids Donnie to speak to Leo. But no one stops Leo from talking to him. But Donnie’s coldness and Leo’s cruel banter really doesn’t help them get along. The moment Shredder goes rogue and the Foot Clan collapses, Leo flees in fear. “What if” this and “what if” that but mostly because he tried to take out Shredder and ruined his clan name. But even on the street, Leo remains the same annoying, much more cruel and dark humored mutant.
Mikey: Got scooped up by the Mud Dogs and taken to Big Mama, dragging only Lou’s glasses with him since even as a toddler he picked up anything shiny he saw. I plan to draw the interaction between tiny Mikey and the Dogs (and how Mikey got his name in this au) but that’s a surprise. Anyways pretty quickly he got entered in the Battle Nexus. Think about the appeal that fight would have! Just a couple years of training and then bam! “Introducing Hakka-gu! Our youngest fighter ever- only 8 years old!” And having natural talent and capabilities he was an instant hit. And he wasn’t treated horribly, after all Big Mama couldn’t risk one of her most profitable champions running away. But he is still treated as nothing but that- a profit, a marketable product. No one calls him his real name anymore, no one cares about him, just his capabilities. When he gets injured it isnt “are you okay?” It’s “is your body okay?” And sometimes he’s treated like an idiot- especially by Big Mama. He was never taught language and has very botched speaking patterns because “intelligence isnt important for a champion.” Well eventually he has enough of that, and through a bloodbath, he is able to escape to New York. Now he’ll get respect- he’ll make them respect him. But he gets quickly spotted by the Foot Clan and Draxum, as he’s in the way. Upon finding out about the plans to wipe out humans, he knows he has to stop them. Who can respect him if THESE GUYS wanna take over the world? He’s not getting mistreated again. But when the Shredder goes rogue he panics- he cant stop it but... he knows who can. He goes crawling back to Big Mama and strikes a deal. A better champion. Better than him. And she takes it, although in the end she makes some... alterations to the deal. But this doesn’t stop his quest for respect, and he ultimately heads back to New York.
Raph: Savage! He’s alone, a young child who doesn’t know where to go. He panics, and rampages all the way to New York. After a good, long, temper-tantrum, he finds himself in an alleyway, climbing into a sewer. And there he eats rats, he sets up a not-so-homely-home for himself. He flashes in and out of his anger, but he is almost always emotional and looking for some sort of control in his life. He gets that through rampages, causing destruction in any way he can. Usually he doesn’t make TOO much of a mess but he’s brought down a few buildings in his time. Eventually, upon seeing a rampaging demon-armor in the streets and seeing 2 figures trying to stop it (at this point Mikey is getting Big Mama) he realizes there are others out there like him. And then begins a struggle for control not over the world, but over himself too. There are times he gains control and although lonely, he knows he must learn. He learns English in flickers, and it isn’t perfect, but he can communicate. He can talk to them. Now he just needs to stop hurting them.
Extra notes:
In this au the only one with their weapon is Donnie. Mikey and Leo are skilled with the weapons they have in canon (the Ōdachi and Kusari-fundo) but they do not have mystic powers. Raph is... well... Raph. He can’t fight with weapons well but he can pack a punch.
Mikey is still a chef and artist, taking a liking to the ability to create, but just like with everything else he “needs to focus on his fights” so he can’t have interests. A kid like Mikey HATES this and any time he can he sneaks away to bake and draw. Usually this is at 2 am.
Leo has anxiety. The minute something not in the plan happens, or a loud noise, or having to talk to someone without a script, he goes into fight-or-flight mode. He often finds that the answer is to fight.
Raph is not necessarily evil- he is an antagonist but he is not evil. He simply has no control and lashes out at everything. That’s why he stays in the sewers. Nothing down there’s moves other than rats, bugs, and the water. But he has to get violent urges out some how.
April is a reporter-in-training in the au, as she never met the turtles until after the Shredder incident. She’s immediately interested in it, as she is everything “supernatural” and she gets dangerously close to some of their fights. I don’t know how they meet yet or if she becomes friends with any of them.
After the Shredder incident, the only thing stopping each turtle from destroying New York is each other. Seriously. They keep getting in each other’s ways because “I want to take over the world, not THEM!”
They all have certain villain stereotypes. Donnie is sort of a mad scientist, Leo is a teasing, monologging villain, Mikey acts like a nut case but has a certain intelligence to him, and Raph appears as a total destroyer.
In the end they get redeemed and find out they’re family, but it takes a while. Mikey is the one to hunt down Draxum, while Leo stalks him. Upon finding this out, having 3 out of 4 looking for each other, they find each other pretty fast. And there’s a big dramatic apology scene with all 3 of them, and at first Donnie thinks they’re conspiring against him and ambushes them but is only met with three harmless turtles who refuse to fight him. They tell him what the deal is and Donnie is shocked. And then he’s pissed. “WHY DIDNT DRAXUM TELL ME!? YOURE LYING! LIARS! NO!” In the end he realizes the truth, but it takes a little “talk” with Draxum. And then Donnie nearly commits murder. Don’t worry they stop him. But there’s no Draxum redemption arc because Donnie would continuously try to commit a felony. April is also somewhere in there and like gives the brothers goodness lessons but idk where that fits in I’m still working this out shajajajajaj

For the Love of Shell- Chapter 38
Tumblr media
Here is chapter 38 of my Oc story!
Full Story here
With winter come and gone, spring and summer came rushing in. The dreary slush and ice melting away to flowers and flowers gave way to hot summer nights. It was hard to believe the year was already half way over with.
They continued to keep the purple dragons check with the police, their mutant presence known within its ranks. They had yet to meet the brains behind the operation, Hun, but it was only a matter of time before he would make himself known and deal with them himself. They looked forward to that meeting maybe that could end this foolishness with his downfall.
The battle nexus championship was a just a week away, and everyone was beside themselves with excitement. Leo looked forward to seeing his friend Usagi again, along with showing what he and his brothers could do in the tournament. He was determined to have at least one of them win the championship, they had been training hard and hoped they deserved to at least make it to the finals.
Master Splinter was going to accompany them to the Battle Nexus but was not going to participate in the tournament, but he was looking forward to seeing his old friend the Daimyo. Leo sat on his bed sharpening his katana when he looked to the side of his bed and rested his eyes on the special bonsai tree that sat proudly on his night stand. Well maintained, green and lush, he took pride keeping the tree alive and well. It had been almost a year since they had seen Aurora last; her last painting had sold in Egypt for a substantial sum. Most of the proceeds were given to a local charity which didn’t surprise him in the slightest.
He hoped she was well and happy. Maybe she had a boyfriend? Maybe she was married? The thought suddenly made his heart drop into his stomach, rolling over on itself at the mere thought of her in someone else’s arms.
Shaking the unpleasant image from his mine he didn’t need to think about that. Besides he was the one to let Aurora go so foolishly, so he needed to stop thinking about her and learn to deal with the consequences. He allowed the tree to remain by his bed side as a reminder of the love they shared, that he had, had a glimpse of happiness for at a moment in time. He never wanted to forget the smell of her, the taste of her lips, the sound of her voice. Each of those precious memories were slowly slipping away as time went by. Vanishing from his senses like dust in a storm. It hurt to lose them like he was losing a part of himself as they faded from his mind. Selfishly he hoped she would attend the Battle Nexus championship, so he could see her once more, maybe refresh the happy memories of her sound and smell but knew she most likely wouldn’t. He imagined she had moved on making a new life for herself and wouldn’t trouble herself with a championship of mutants and aliens.
Leo imagined her lying on a beach in Egypt curled up on someone’s arms nuzzled into their armpit like she once did with him, kissing his lips. Shaking his head of the unpleasant thoughts again he finished sharpening his katana and made his way to the kitchen were Mikey had just finished preparing dinner for the family.
The entire family sat down at the kitchen table as Mikey set the large casserole dish filling with something delicious smelling on the makeshift trivet in the middle of the too small for four mutant turtles kitchen table.
Splinter leaned forward taking a low pull of the pleasant aroma his eyes closing in delight. “My son, your cooking skills have much improved over the past year. What is this dish called?”
“Shrimp and White Bean Cassoulet sensei.” Mikey smiled sitting down next to Raph who was already dishing up a sizable helping for their father.
The old rat took a spoon full of the helping he was given and took a tentative bite. Mikey watched his father chew the food he made and waited with baited breath to see if he liked it or not. After what seemed like forever his father’s swallowed what was on his mouth and a giant smile broke over his face and took another bit bite. “You have outdone yourself Michelangelo. It is very good.”
After the approval of their father the rest of family eagerly dug in filling their bellies with Mikey’s new talent.
Raphael leaned back rubbing his now fully belly and gave his little brother a thumbs up. He could get used to the home cooked meals; he was beginning to get tired of pizza nearly every night. His eyes wandered over to his eldest brother, their leader. He seemed a little distracted as he played with his fork from across the table.
He was still angry with him but after time passed he begin to understand why he did what he did. Aurora deserved to be happy and if it was without them then he was ok with it. But damn did he miss her. “Penny for your thoughts fearless?” he finally asked tossing his napkin at the distracted turtle.
Raph smiled when his older brother caught the flying projectile without even looking up, his senses had definitely gotten better over the past year. Leo had been training pretty much nonstop most likely to keep his mind off of the forbidden subject in the lair. Aurora’s name had barely been mentioned since last Christmas. Leo took care of that bonsai tree like it was his child, tending to it every day without fail. He would admit he had spent a few times sitting on Leo’s bed staring at the tree imagining Aurora near death laying beside the small fragile sapling fighting with her body to stay awake, to stay alive. He would give the tree a mist of water before running his fingers over the green foliage before returning to his day. He knew Mikey and Donnie did the same, he had caught them both staring at the tree several times as well.
Finally Leo looked up from his fork and locked eyes with his hothead brother.
“Just thinking about the Battle Nexus Championship, trying to mentally prepare for it I guess. Looking forward to seeing Usagi as well, it’s been a year since we’ve seen him.”
“What about little bunny foo foo?” Mikey playfully cooed running his fingers up his older brothers arm. “I’m sure she’s gonna be happy to see you bro!” His eye ridges waged suggestively.
“Yeah she’s gonna be happy to find out your single.” Donnie chimed in taking another bite of casserole directly from the dish still sitting on the table.
Leo grunted in frustration at the nickname Aurora gave Asuna and shook his head letting his fork drop with a clang onto his plate. “Not interested, she’s the one who put doubt in my mind when we were there last.”
“What?” Raph suddenly got irritated eyeing his brother. “What did that fucking rabbit say about Aurora?”
“She asked me how long it would take for Aurora to realize that I couldn’t give her a normal life. I can’t marry her, can’t give her children. I can only offer seclusion and a sewer.”
“That bitch.” Both Raphael and Mikey growled.
“What makes you think you can’t give her a child?” Donnie cut in questioningly.
“Um..I’m a mutant turtle and she’s human.”
Donnie leaned back in his chair and hummed his disappointment in his brother, “In theory there is no reason we can’t have children with humans. You forget we ourselves are half human with human DNA. I’ve analyzed my semen and found it nearly identical to humans. There’s no guarantee but it’s not impossible.”
“Donnie my boy, I don’t wanna know how you got your hands on human sperm to compare to your own.” Mikey laughed gathering up the remains of dinner before shuffling it off to the sink to soak the dishes.
“Sperm banks Mikey.”
“Ewwww!” the orange banded turtle grunted in disgust from the sink.
Donnie shook his head pushing himself away from the table and began helping Mikey with putting away dinner. Gently nudging his younger brothers from the sink he took over the duty of washing the dishes.
Leo ignored his brothers, his thoughts lost to the pleasant thought of Aurora’s belly swollen with child…. their child. Lying in his arms her back resting against his plastron as his hands rubbed lightly across the taught flesh of her extended belly feeling their unborn child shift beneath his fingers. A genuine smile tugged at his lips as his fingers splayed across the table rubbing the formica top.
“Leo?” a deep voice broke him from his thoughts.
“Hmm?” Leo looked up to see Raph eyeing him cautiously.
“After we digest all this shrimp you wanna train?”
“Sure Raph.”

The four brothers sat in the poorly lit alleyway and watched their father draw the mystic symbols across the old bricks of the vacant building with white chalk. Each swipe of the chalk was smooth and calculated as his furry fingers drew the symbols from memory. Finally finished Master Splinter handed the chalk to Donnie who quickly placed it into his duffle bag. Taking a deep breath the old rat pressed his palms together in a praying pose and began to recite the incantation.
Slowly the water that lay in the alleyway rushed towards the symbols rolling up over the chalk outline merging and swirling into what looked like a water door. After a few moments the water congealed into a watery doorway and began to glow with a light blue hue. Splinter wasted no time and passed through the liquid passageway followed shortly by his four sons.
As the white light of the portal faded they found themselves in the bustling city of the Daimyo’s kingdom. The streets were teaming with anthropomorphic animals buying and selling wares seeming unfazed by the sudden appearance of five bodies through a portal.
Hoisting their bags over their shoulders they made their way through the market towards the Daimyo’s palace. They were invited by the Daimyo himself to stay in his home as they attended the battle nexus championship.
As they passed by the carts of goods eyes began to follow them, fingers pointing in their direction followed by excited mumbles. Young females of all species lined up on the street to stare at them eyes bright with enthusiasm.
“What was that about?” Mikey whispered to his older brothers eyeing the eager gazes in the crowd. The young turtle could feel the adrenaline start to race through his veins. This was exciting; it looked like they had been expecting them and thrilled to meet them, his baby blue eyes sparkled with anticipation.
Reaching the gates the large doors opened allowing the passage into the court yard. The main door slide open revealing the large ruler his arms outstretched in welcome as they approached.
“It is good to see you old friend.” The large man rumbled with laughter as his eyes beamed with happiness.
“My old friend it has been too long and for that I apologize, the past few years have been….busy. And I am sorry it wasn’t me that introduced you to my sons last year. How have you been? How is your son?” Master Splinter grinned up at Daimyo his hips tiling as he bowed out of respect.
“Nonsense Splinter, there is no need for apologize our meeting a year ago was destiny I am sure of it. Ue-Sama is good, healthy and eager to learn. His skill advances everyday and looks forward to his time as Daimyo. Sometimes I think he’s a little too eager to take over. But that is here nor there. Now I’m sure you’d like to see where you’ll be staying for the tournament? I hope you don’t mind sharing a room, it is big enough to accommodate all five of you and has been set up with five beds but rooms this week are scarce in the palace as you might have guessed.” The Daimyo smiled ushering them into the large door of the large palace.
Leo stepped next to his father and spoke up, “We are grateful for your hospitality Daimyo and will take whatever is available to us. We are used to sleeping in the same room so it is no trouble.”
The Daimyo slowed and looked down on the blue leader while he led them through the great hall. His aged eyes flashed with something but quickly returned to his joyful demeanor before answering him. His large came down resting on the top of his carapace, “Leonardo I look forward to seeing you and your brothers competing in the tournament this afternoon. There have been stories of you four and your skill and bravery from last year’s battle. You four have become rather popular with the ladies.” A deep rumbling laugh escaped the ruler’s throat opening a door to what looked like their quarters for their stay.
“Yes we noticed the stares as we passed through the market. We were wondering what that was about.” Donnie said setting his duffle bag on one the farthest bed from the door.
“Yes don’t be surprised if you become very popular very fast. Now if you will excuse me I need to make final preparations for the tournament this afternoon. Please make yourself at home and don’t hesitate to ask Gyoji if you require anything. Please present yourself to the battle arena for registration at 2pm your time. You all must take part in the qualifying round before you enter the tournament. But I have no doubt each of you will succeed. I’ll see you all on the arena. Good luck turtles.” And with that the Daimyo exited their room disappearing down the hallway.
Leo sat down on the bed he chose and set his bag down next to him. His eyes moved to his brothers as they settled in. “Does anyone want to join me in the market? I’d like to wander around for a bit before we register. I’m hoping we can run into Usagi, would be nice to see him before we go.”
All three of his brothers were happy to go but Sensei wanted to stay behind to attend to a small matter, but promised to meet them at the arena at the given time of registration.
The street loud with conversation they looked over the wears and food for sale. Every once in a while they were stopped and gushed over, random hands brushing up against their shells and fingers lingering on their arms. Most of the admirers were female but they did get a few males come up to them shaking their hands thanking them for their help last year.
Mikey and Raph soon broke off from the other two wanting to find something warm to eat and Donnie got distracted by some old artifacts.
“I’m gonna be a bit, go ahead and keep going I’ll meet you back at our room in an hour.” Donnie waved his eldest brother on turning an ancient metal tool over in his fingers.
Further down the street Leo was buying a sharpening stone when his name rang out behind him. Turning around after completing his purchase his eyes narrowed in on a familiar female rabbit.
“Asuna.” Leo forced a smile waving to the cheery rabbit as she jogged towards him her arms outstretched for an apparent hug. Bracing himself he let the rabbit practically knock him on his shell wrapping her arms around his carapace.
“It’s so good to see you Leonardo. It has been too long! Are you and your brothers here for the tournament?” She smiled sweetly up at him her chin placed on the top of his plastron her eyes sparkling with adoration.
Returning the hug awkwardly he gently pushed her from his body. “It’s good to see you too Asuna. Yes my brothers and I are here to participate. Hey have you seen Usagi? I was hoping to chat with him before everything starts.”
Her fingers remaining touching his forearms and nodded quickly pulling at his arms. “Yes he’s down by the stables talking to Gen. Here I’ll take you to him. He will be very pleased to see you. He has also expressed his excitement in seeing you today.”
Being led by his arm Leo had no choice but to follow the eager rabbit doing his best at keeping the young female from brushing up against him as they weaved through busy streets. He was finding it very difficult to keep her from touching him, her hips brushing up against his, her grasp pulling a little too hard so his arm would brush across her breasts. She was incorrigible.
After a few silent moments being dragged by his arm she finally slowed giving his arm reprieve. Her white furry fingers began dancing across his pebbled skin of his bicep and he could tell she wanted to ask him something. He didn’t have to wait long.
“So is Aurora here? I figured she’d be by your side.” She asked almost in a whisper her eyes training on his looking for any emotional reaction.
Letting out deep sigh he shook his head. “I have no idea, I broke it off with her a year ago and we haven’t seen her since. And that’s all I’ll say about it so I would appreciate the topic not being brought up again.”
Her head turned no doubt keeping the happy grin to herself at the news he was no longer with Aurora. He really didn’t want to see her nor spend any time with the meddlesome rabbit. She was conniving and calculating her mind scheming, she was nice enough but he didn’t trust her. True it was still his fault his relationship with Aurora ended due to his poor judgment but she had planted the poisonous seed of doubt that grew into a snarling demon in his mind.  The sooner they got to Usagi the sooner he’d been free of little bunny foo foo.
As they rounded the corner Asuna’s body tensed and pushed him back around the corner pressing him carapace back against the brick building. Her eyes darted to him and back to the looming corner they had just been.
“What? What’s going on?” He asked feeling annoyed at the close proximity to the female rabbit.
A smile spread across her face and she struck with a quickness he couldn’t prepare for. Her furry hands cupped his cheeks and leaned forward her lips slanting over his. Her tongue pressed into his mouth catching him off guard he couldn’t even make his mind move fast enough to push her away. Her warm body pressed firmly to his her breasts compressing against his plastron.
His mind began to process what was going on and his hands rested on her shoulders ready to push the conniving rabbit from his body when he saw why the rabbit was kissing him.
In what seemed like slow motion Aurora in all her glory rounded the corner nearly running smack dab into them. His mind still in a confused fog he was unable to react fast enough as her purple eyes focused quickly in on his.
Not quite registering what she was seeing she smiled awkwardly at the kissing duo but realization struck her like a runaway bull hitting her in the stomach. Her eyes widened in shock then pain watching helplessly as the rabbit’s mouth assaulted his. Leo noticed her body go rigid her hands clenching into fists at her side as her breath hitched in her throat. The sorrow that played over her startled features soon was replaced by anger as her purple eyes flashed for a second with their brilliant light.
It all seemed to happen slowly dragging on before his very eyes as he tried to get his body to respond with his minds commands but in all reality it all happened in a matter of a few seconds. Getting his hands to move Leo finally pushed Asuna from his body their mouths popping as their lips parted.
“Aurora.” Leo gasped for breath wiping their mingling saliva from his mouth with the back of his hand. But time began to run at normal speed again and as quick as she was there she disappeared back around the corner leaving his eyesight.
“Asuna, what the shell were you thinking?” Leo growled trying to go after the retreating Aurora but was slammed back against the wall by Asuna who pressed back into him her eye hooded with excitement no doubt pleased with her display.
“Let her go Leonardo. She’s human, your animal, you should be with an animal, you should be with me. I’ll treat you right, I’ll love you, I’ll obey you.” She cooed trying to run her fingers down his cheek but was abruptly stopped by Leonardo crushing grip. A yelp of pain pushed past her lips as her smile faded from her face.
“I can’t believe you did this, your advances are unwarranted. I told you before I was not interested in you Asuna but you still pulled this inappropriate display to blatantly hurt Aurora. Please leave me and my family alone.” Not giving her a chance to object Leo pushed Asuna with force nearly sending her into a cart behind her.
He wiped around the corner fully intent to find Aurora as she retreated but found her gone. As fast his legs would carry him he darted down the street searching the busy crowd for her. How difficult would it to be to find a human in a street filled with animals. Very, apparently, he had no luck locating her doubling back twice to make sure he didn’t miss her.
True to her nature she had vanished into the shadows like the skilled kunoichi she was. At least he knew she was there, no doubt getting ready to take part in the battle nexus championship.

Always, Part 5
A/N: here you go :) not sure if its the best... but i tried :P
Tumblr media
Part 1- X
Part 2- X
Part 3- X
Part 4- X
You rubbed your wrists, wincing slightly when your fingers grazed over the growing purple bruises. All three brothers asked questions, some relating to why you were here and others as to why you had avoided them. Yet one of them couldn't meet your gaze, not after that unfortunate night.
You took a shaky breath in, they had to shut up before your mind would go blank and freeze. They wanted answers to questions you couldn't provide, they wanted reasons that you couldn't bring yourself to say. Because either way, you sounded like the bad guy. The one who flaked on them without a good enough excuse. The one who left them when they needed you.
"Well, isn't this precious..." a chuckle came from the right side of the room, grabbing all your attention. You saw the boys instinctively reach for their weapons and subtly come closer to you. Behind, her army of footbots stood, their weapons glinting underneath the lights. Without warning, they ran towards you all at full speed. But their attacks were different, they were more skilled than you had remembered. You all were able to fight them off but they kept trickling in. After you fought one another ten would arrive and slowly, the muscles and joints in your body began to ache. Before you could even think, they had restrained you down harshly to the floor and making you all watch Karai who was perched upon a desk with a grin painted upon her ruby lips.
"What the-" Leo grunted when they surrounded his body, forcing him on his knees and kneeling upright watching the scene unfold. Annoyed and angry responses were heard all around the room yet Karai kept her eyes solely on you. Despite you glaring at her, she still maintained that sickly sweet smile making you want to punch her straight in the face.
"What??" You snapped irritably, looking at her dead in the eye. The skin around your wrists were beginning to burn from where they were tied together. It didn't help the army of footbots pinning you down kept making the chain tighter.
"He ignored you, didn't he?" She asked, a wicked grin plastered upon her face. She didn't even bother beating around the bush, just straight to the point. Your blood froze, hearing that sentence. How did she know about everything?
"What's his name?... ah yes, Donatello" she continued, an airy laugh blew through her lips when she saw the pain flash on your facial features mentioning his name. God, you wanted to kill her. You dared a glance at Donnie who's eyes watched Karai, but even they couldn't hide the pain nor the sadness in them.
"What-what's goin' on?" Raphael narrowed his amber irises between his brother and you and the supposed secret that their enemy knew. Didn't he know? Wasn't it obvious? "What do you want?" You whispered, clenching your fists tightly behind your back.
"Glad you asked. I want you, a perfect little assistant. I know you know information, information that could destroy these turtles and their master-" "Don't you think about it, Karai!" Leo growled, trying to unbuckle himself from their grip but they were strong. He didn't have enough energy to hold back the crowd of footbots holding him back.
"And if I don't?" You asked and she stood, walking towards you. "Well, then you'd be of no use to me or really anyone. Actually I could give your friends a little demonstration right now..." She smirked, cocking her gun and aiming straight at your forehead.
"No stop!" You heard pleas and commands from the turtles, shouting at her to stop. "It's your choice, darling. My way or death" she patted your head, bending to your level. You didn't have a choice, it was clear that you would lose either way.
"Okay, I-I'll help you..." You whispered and the brothers eyes widened in shock, wondering if they heard you right. "What?? Dudette what the heck are you doing??" Mikey struggled against the grip, his eyes widening in shock when he saw you standing up. You couldn't meet his gaze, the hurt in his eyes would be too much to handle in this moment. But you knew it was for the best. You threw the chains off your arms, wincing when the pressure of them alleviated on your wrists. Bands of purple and red covered your arms and hands and you were pretty sure blood was stuck to them.
"Well, well turtles. Your little companion hardly took much persuasion" she drawled on, while you stood behind her. She walked to Leo, Raph, Donnie and Mikey's, their faces were startled genuinely and completely shocked at your behaviour. Your eyes met with Donnie's for the first time in a long time and you wish you hadn't looked. Looking in his eyes reminded you of the feelings you had tried to hide and forget about. All those memories bubbled to surface and it took everything in you not to shatter and crumble giving Karai the satisfaction of watching you break. You looked away, hearing everything he had out put through.
"What are you doin', Y/N??" Raph hissed at you, his own heart beating fast at the betrayal. He didn't want to believe you could so easily be swayed for the enemy; none of them did.
"I-I know what Donnie did to you was wrong, but what you're doing is a mistake too, Y/N!" Leo yelled, baffled at your own actions. You took a breath and ignored them, you had to concentrate on how to get them all out of here.
Donnie was no better, his jaw slacked as he saw you with Karai. Had his actions compelled you to commit such betrayal against them? There was so much he wanted to say but it was impossible, you couldn't even look him in the eyes anymore. But when you did, even for a second, he was so close to allowing his own tears to fall. He remembered how you used to look at him with love and happiness, now in place was hurt and anger. And just like that, you looked away as if he hadn't existed. As if the relationship you both had never existed.
"I must admit, you turned your back rather easily" Karai smirked, sitting up on the table once more. You just nodded, looking around for a weapon to use but your eyes caught sight some shattered pieces of glass and the chain they held you in. Yet that gave you an idea. Looking at Karai, she seemed distracted as she taunted the turtles.
There were two footbots soldiers behind you, their eyes trained upon your every move. You placed the glass piece in your pocket, you would use that later. You subtly walked backwards, away from her line of sight as she focused on the turtles. The soldiers followed you, gripping your arms tightly. You kneed one of them harshly, throwing it back to the other one. They stumbled, pushing you down with them. Their grip on you was tight, almost restricting. "Get the fuck off of me" you hissed,
"She's on our side, the information she must know about you all must be absolutely priceless..." Karai grinned, walking by the turtles. You had to hurry, you did not have as much time as you would have liked. Using some of the skills you had learnt with the turtles, you kicked them back down and tied up their bodies as best as you could have possibly done with the chain. They didn’t matter much, it was Karai who you had to focus on. So walking back to her and the turtles, you kept the glass piece hidden in your hand. She yanked you close to her side, her scent filling your nostrils as she forced you to watch the turtles. a slight hint of a smirk stayed on your lips, toying with the glass piece until you had the proper grip on it.
Mikey and Raph looked at you suspiciously, Leo and Donnie's eyes were fixated on Karai, hoping she wouldn't do anything rash. Karai turned her head ordering something to her footclan, this was your chance. With every remaining ounce of energy in your body, you plunged the glass deep within her thigh hoping it penetrated the thick leather trousers she had on. And you were right. She screamed painfully, throwing your body forwards but you caught yourself easily.
"You bitch!" She sneered, a hand wrapped tight around her thigh hoping it would stop the profuse blood flow and another on the handle of her dagger.
"Watch out!" Donnie blurted and your heart clenched deep within your chest hearing him say your name again. Her weapon barely passed you, slicing the first layer of your skin. The blood seeped through your jeans and you hissed in pain when any pressure was applied. But you couldn't think about that, you didn't want to be here any longer than you needed to be. Looking at her coiled up in the floor with a puddle of blood surrounding her, you let out a chuckle slightly limping towards her.
"Get up" you snarled, grabbing her hair and pulling her body upwards. She winced, standing almost immediately. "You must be dense if you think I would fight for you" You collared her shirt, looking at her dead in the eye before turning towards her footbots.
"Let them go or I'll kill her" you ordered and they hesitantly looked from you to Karai and then to the turtles. "Don't let them go!" Karai tried to call out but you kneed her abdomen, knocking the air out of her. She fell to the ground and you yanked her hair back, anger and exhaustion settling in your body.
"You better shut the hell up before this knife plunges so far deep in you" you hissed, placing the tip of the blade taught against the pulse point in her neck. Looking back at her army, you pointed the blade in their direction menacingly. "Now, let them go or you'll see her in pieces all over the floor" you instructed, your tone clear and sharp to prove that you weren't messing around. They hesitated but listened, freeing the turtles who pushed them back abruptly. They looked at you and you looked at Karai, wincing and groaning in pain before your eyes met theirs.
"Time to get the hell out of here"

Gift of a Frenemy
((Happy birthday, Tessa! ^v^ *huuuuugs* hope you enjoy this oneshot))
((Aaaaaaah its all so cute, thank you so much!!!
Birthdays had always been a… mixed bag for Wil.
When she was able to spend it with her mothers, it was nice. They gave her their full attention, letting her pick whatever activity they did that day and whatever dish they had for supper (plus the homemade birthday cakes were nice too).
The birthdays where she had to spend it alone, however… weren’t so great. Students and teachers at school never remembered, and due to her lack of popularity, she wasn’t exactly the ‘birthday party’ type.
Until now, that is. To some, having a birthday party in the sewers was far from ideal. But to her - seeing her friends, her moms and her boyfriend all in one place, giving her the birthday party she never really had - it was absolutely perfect.
She lost track of how long it lasted, though a part of her wouldn’t have minded if it lasted forever. She laughed and joked around with her friends, played party games, ate good food, watched movies (NOT Lou Jitsu ones, thank goodness), danced and pretty much just partied to her hearts content.
“-Hey, we’re not too late, are we?” Wil turned her attention towards one of the Lair entrances, and grinned.
“N-Nope,” she told the gargoyles, hopping down from the second level to greet them, “C-Come on in!”
“Aww, thanks Wil!” Muninn said, smiling back.
“Yeah,” Huginn nodded, “Happy birthday, kid.” He would have waved or offered her a hug, though the heavy gift bag in his and Muninn’s hands prevented him from doing so.
Not wanting them to strain their little wings any longer, Wil took the bag. “Aww, th-thanks you guys! You’re so sweet.” They flew over to her shoulders, nuzzling her cheeks a bit and making her giggle.
“Weeeell?” Muninn said after a few moments, “Come on, open it!”
“Heh, o-okay okay!” Setting it down, Wil opened up the gift bag - and while she wasn’t completely surprised by its contents, she was still touched by the meaning behind them. After all, she gave them snacks all the time, so it was only fitting they gave her snack in return. “Wowwww!”
She took each item out, wanting to fully appreciate the gift that she was sure they worked hard to get her. There was caramel popcorn, a jar of Nutella, a couple cupcakes, and even sugar cookies that had been frosted (albeit a bit messily) to look like her. “These are great!”
However, when she took out the final item - a small bag of blue, white and yellow M&Ms from the store in Times Square - she couldn’t help but smile. “Um, I-I’m sorry but- guys, y-you know I can’t eat chocolate.”
“Oh no, did we forget?” Muninn said in ‘shock’, his tone a bit forced, “Gosh, we’re sorry! Guess you’ll have to just exchange them for some non-chocolate candies.”
“Yeahhh,” Huginn nodded, smirking ever so slightly, “Though, I’d maybe wait until after you get Boss’ gift. You know, just in case.”
Wil gave them both a curious look, though didn’t get a chance to ask any follow-up questions. With one last hug to her shoulders, they wished her a happy birthday before flying up to the second level to see what other festivities the party had.
“H-Huh…” Still wondering what Huginn meant by that, Wil gathered up all the treats and placed the bag next to her other presents before joining back into the birthday fun.
The moon was high above the NYC skyline as the Bulwarks returned home. Venny and Eva kissed their daughter goodnight before heading to bed. As for Wil herself, while the party had worn her out in the best possible way, her nocturnal feline instincts ensured that she would still be up for at least a couple hours more.
She fidgeted a bit with the (fake but still pretty) ruby covered bracelet Raph had given her as she thought about what to do next. “Maybe I’ll do some reading,” Wil mumbled to herself, thinking of the chemistry books and shoujo manga books Donnie and Leo had gotten her. Doing that would be both enjoyable and would make her sleepy. But before she could even begin to try and get comfy, there was a knock at their door.
Quietly, Wil padded down the stairs and opened the door. The tall figure in front of her took a moment to recognize, but once she saw the face underneath the hood, she wasn’t worried at all. “Y-You know,” she said, crossing her arms, “you c-could have just came to the pa-party.”
“Like I said,” Draxum grumbled, “I’m not much of a party person.” Besides, while Venny didn’t mind him and Wil and Mikey had wanted to include him, they all knew that there was still plenty of friction between him and Splinter. It would have been wrong to fill her special day with drama that she had nothing to do with. “Still, I figured it would be consider rude to let the occasion pass without a token of acknowledgement, so-” he reached into his pocket, and pulled out a vial, “Happy birthday.”
Wil’s eyes widened a bit as she took a closer look at the glass vial. Whatever was in it wasn’t green or glowing, thankfully. Instead, it was a cool, light shade of brown - almost like chocolate milk. “Wh-What is it?”
“Well… I was told you had allergies that prevented you from eating chocolate,” Draxum explained, “And judging by how many bakeries and candy shops there are in this city, I’d imagine that must be pretty frustrating. So, I thought I could help with that.”
Wil blinked, a bit shocked. “Wait, so… s-so, is this like an Antihistamine or-”
“One dose, and your dietary biology will be forever changed,” Draxum told her, “and you’ll be able to eat as much chocolate as you wish without any harmful side effects. Well, other than a stomachache and cavities, maybe.”
She stared at him, a bit shocked. She honestly didn’t know what to say. Seeing this, Draxum quickly added, “You don’t have to drink it. I won’t force you to. It’s yours to do whatever you wish with, including throw away. I just-… I thought that, after everything you’ve done for me, the least I could do is provide you with a mutation that you might actually want.”
Wil’s eyes softened a bit at that. “You big d-dummy…” Taking the vial, she hugged him. Surprised though not as annoyed with the action as he normally might have been, he patted her back. Hugs weren’t… that bad, on rare occasions.
“I n-never said I hated being a c-cat, you know,” she told him once the hug ended, “Like I t-told you before…” It had been scary at first - completely terrifying, really. But she was stronger and faster now, not to mention the fact that if she had never mutated, she might have never met her best friends. Sure, being a cat in a world of humans would still always have its difficulties, it was still her life. It wasn’t always easy, but she accepted it. She was happy, whiskers and all.
“If you’re wanting to m-make up for this wh-whole situation-” she gestured to herself- “then, well, y-you’re already doing it by trying to be a better person! That means more than a-any potion or mutation.”
“…” Draxum glanced away a bit. “I suppose so…”
Wil looked down at the vial. She was sure that Draxum had thoroughly tested it, but even so- “I’ll h-have to sleep on it a little b-before I decide to use this or not. Still-” she smiled genuinely at him, letting her appreciation be known loud and clear, “T-Thank you for the gift, Draxum.”
Draxum nodded. “Happy birthday, Wilhelmina.” With that taken care of, he began to turn away, figuring that he had already taken up enough of her time-
“Hey, s-speaking of birthdays, we still have some leftover cake, i-if you want some.” That made Draxum pause. “I know how much y-you love Mom’s cooking~” she added, giving him a small smirk.
Draxum scoffed, though didn’t move. “…I guess one slice couldn’t hurt. The walk over made me a bit peckish anyway.” Wil chuckled, and happily opened the door to let him in.
Yep… It really was a pretty perfect birthday.

Questions about Villainous Muses…
Tumblr media
1. What would it have taken to prevent your muse from becoming a villain?
Raph started his late teens as a villain, having been molded by an uncaring environment with parents who dealt more with stately affairs than with him. It taught him not to trust nor care about others and it reflected in every move he made. Amy saving him had changed so much inside him that his heart grew three sizes that day. I think the start of spiraling back into villainy was when he poisoned Lord Dumas because he asked Raphael to send Amy away to an orphanage in order to be officially made his son. Raphael would have done anything for her and murdering the old man was so easy. And it tapped back into that darkness that lived in his heart and left him more susceptible to the influence of the sword. While his mind had to be utterly torn to shreds for his body to become the host for Soul Edge because Raph’s will was too strong, even in death, it was still able to poison his mind and Azwel was able to manipulate Raphael further. Everything from there went downhill. Had Azwel never outed Amy as a non-noble in front of Lord Dumas, Dumas would never have figured out Amy was not Raphael’s biological daughter and Raphael wouldn’t have felt compelled to kill him. He rather liked the old man and everyone in the citadel up until that point. Afterward, the only ones he showed any kindness to, or any regard at all were Amy and the governess Maelys.
2. Despite their villainy, does your muses subscribe to some sort of ethical/honor code that guides their behavior?
I think Raphael, for as heartless and cold as he is when at the peak of his evil, I don’t think he would kill a kid. Even in his destined fight with Talim he says time for your nap, and I choose to believe he incapacitated her, not killing her. I think Amy has a lot to do with that. She was his moral anchor, he strived to be a better person because he had another to care for. But outside of that? He was otherwise utterly reprehensible.
3. When was the last time your muse cried for someone else’s sake?
I think he was wracked emotionally about never being able to provide Amy with what she needed, and while he cried when he met her, it was more relief that she had helped him survive, so more for his sake than her’s. I think the first time he cried was when he returned home from his fight with Nightmare and after almost a month on death’s door and as his body malfested and his mind further rotted into darkness and madness, his first bit of clarity in that time was realizing Amy was gone and that he had failed her. He wept then for what her uncertain fate was and then the darkness took him completely.
4. Are there any ethical/moral lines your muse will not cross?
Again, he wouldn’t kill a child, but he would fight them if they tried to stop him (re: Talim). I mean listen, this guy was bent on causing utter chaos and mass death to stop the feuding nobles when he was stuck in his soul edge induced madness. And then he malfested the Romanian Valley of Wallachia out of grief for losing Amy (in my blended timeline, since we aren’t getting malfested Amy in the revised timeline) and had them finish decimating an army that tried to stop him. The man has very few lines he won’t cross.
5. Mun, you could have spent the time and effort you dedicate to your museIf roleplaying as a hero. Why did you decide to roleplay as a villain?
I truly truly love heroes, and anti-heroes too, but when I played MKDA (the konquest mode and later the tower) I thought that Frost was a good guy… and turned she wasn’t, but I’m okay with roleplaying a villain. I mean, it is kind of different from writing a muse with heroical intentions, perhaps my decision is more attached to the fact that I love the character but don’t care much about her moral decisions (and some of them worry me). Part of me enjoys writing her as the villain she is supposed to be in canon, and another part of me wishes for her to settle down and think clearer.
6. If questioned about their evil behavior, what excuse would your muse give to justify it?
He was sick on the idea that he could make a better world if he got rid of the warring nobles, no matter the body count that ensued. He thought he could justify it (a lot of it was also the sword needing more souls but he wouldn’t have realized it at the time). And then later as he wreaked havoc in Wallachia? It was all because he was suffering and inflicting his grief and anguish on those who lived in the valley below him. He spread his sickness. He was their plague.
7. Does your muse have the potential to be a loving parent? The question addresses their ability to feel a child’s emotional needs, not the muse’s ability to physically procreate.
I MEAN... WE ALREADY KNOW HE IS A DEEPLY DEVOTED DAD SO...
8. If your muse could feel the emotional pain of the people they hurt, would this deter their villainous behavior?
I don’t think he had the capacity to feel much beyond his own suffering. It blinded him to much else. I think there were potentially moments where his humanity would show through, but they were brief, fleeting.
9. What punishment does the mun think would be justifiable for the muse?
Considering he lost everything 3 times, each as a result of horrendous behavior and each behavior worse than the last... canon did a pretty good job. After SCIV he died and his mind was ripped asunder while his corpse was used as a vessel for the very sword that cursed him in the first place and set his life in ruin all three times (okay, i genuinely believe he was killed by siegfried with soul calibur not soul edge, but soul edge still got him in the end so stay with me). And so reclaiming his body with all the skills he had before but none of the memories except a strong need to find an unknown entity named Amy has been a continual punishment. Made worse as he unravels his own mystery and learns that he was once a good man... and once a very very very terrible one as well. Learning that this was who he was, and the painful flashes of memory and the debilitating pain that rips through his right arm (the one that became the nightmare arm), he continually faces his punishment. Canon really set up some good shit for this and then did nothing with it. And the fact that while his body was being used and going by the name of the man he poisoned all those years ago, Soul Edge had sent constant barrages of assassins after two who rebelled against him, Z.W.E.I. and Viola. Viola who was once Amy but no longer knows who she is either. So like yeah, he’s not having a good time post-resurrection. At all.

Flirt Right Back - Mikey x Reader.
sUp, it’s me, your regular stupid gurl, back wiTh some shitty story.
Title; Flirt Right Back.
Type; (2014/16)Mikey x FemReader.
Inspiration; Flirt Right Back - Blackbear.
Not actually warning lol, just fluff, again I changed a little bit the lyrics.
• • •
“Give me back my phone!” Mikey chased Raph across the Lair.
“Leo! Mikey has an internet girlfriend!” Leonardo popped out from the kitchen and Donnie from his lab. “Catch!”
Mikey’s phone was flying through the air and now was in Leonardo’s hands.
“Mikey, what’s going on? Who is this girl?” Leonardo started reading the conversation.
“Technically, if it is internet dating we cannot assure it’s a woman.” Donnie walked his way to Leo and started reading with him.
“He is my girlfriend!” Mikey took away his phone from his brother’s hand.
“Since when ya have a girlfriend?” Raph sat down on the couch and laughed.
“We’ve been talking for five years now.” They all chocked.
“You been talking to this girl for five years and we never noticed it?” Donnie wasn’t actually buying this.
“Yeah! and give me that.” Mikey grabbed his phone and walked to his room.
“How do you discovered it?” Leo asked to Raph.
“His phone was buzzin’ nonstop. And well, it wasn’t hard to figure out his password. ‘74992.’, and well the conversation just popped out.”
“74992?” Leo was confused.
“Means Pizza.” Donnie clarified.
“Of course it means Pizza.” Leo sighed.
In Mikey’s room, he locked his door and called his Babe.
“Little Peachy thing.” He called her with a smile.
“What’s wrong?” Through the phone line, his girl noticed something was wrong.
“My brothers already know ‘bout us.”
“It’s that a bad thing?”
“No Peachy Babe, just, They don’t think you’re really a girl.” Mikey closed his eyes.
“Well, guess who’s moving to New York.” She said with an excited tone.
Mikey almost faints from excitement.
“Why you didn’t told me!” He almost screamed.
“Well, it was a surprise!” Y/N giggled. “I got a job too! 12 to 3 in a small coffee place.”
“We are finally gonna see each other!” He said almost crying of happiness, they talked a little more but she needed to go.
And then, it happened, he realized, he remembered; He was a mutant turtle, how she was going to be in a relationship with a mutant turtle! After those five years talking, I know it sounds delusional but he actually loved her, he knew about her but this time he was going to see her in person, and he was scared. Maybe after seeing him, she would run away scared and never talk to him again. All of these doubts were running inside his head, and he genuinely looked worried; Y/N was moving to New York in less than a month for him, for him.
“What’s wrong with ya?” Raph asked him. “Ya barely touched the pizza.”
“She’s moving to New York, she’s from East Atlanta,” Mikey confessed to his big brother. “And I’m nervous she wouldn’t like me.”
“She had seen ya before, right?” Raph smirk a little, he understood his brother being nervous.
“Actually... No.” Mikey murmured softly, and he looked Raph’s angry grin.
“Are ya kiddin’ me?” When Mikey looked down embarrassed, he sighed. “And what’s the problem?”
“I’m afraid she won’t like me anymore.” Poking the pizza, Mikey sighed as well. “When you meet your girl she was scared?”
“Ya bet, that shortie almost died.” Raph giggled. “But if she likes ya enough, she won’t care how ya look, I say that from experience.”
Probably Raph was right, after five years of talking, phone calls and telling secrets, he loved her, and he was pretty optimistic, and who wouldn’t love a sweetheart like him! Five years doesn’t go easily, so if he was going to do it, he was going to do it right; His month passed quickly, he was excited, and he planned everything. Let’s check out the plan again:
Step 1: Y/N (little hearts around the name.) Will arrive to New York at 9:00 am.
Step 2: April and Casey are going to pick her up from the airport.
Step 3: April and Casey will distract her and take her to look around the city.
Step 4: MCMikey appears (little stars around the name.) and with his brothers help he cleans up April’s apartment.
Step 5: He will wait for Y/N to arrive at April’s apartment and they will be alone.
Step 6: He will meet her.
Step 7: Y/N will love Mikey.
“The last step doesn’t look trustworthy.” Donnie gave Mikey a weird look, he was actually impressed his brother planned everything.
“Please.” Mikey’s puppy eyes were just too much.
Everyone was ready, except Mikey. The moment was here, he was beyond nervous, he managed himself to act cool, but inside he was like a high school girl in prom. April texted him, saying Y/N was with her and Casey, he sighed in relief. The day was so long! If everything went as planned, Y/N should be arriving at April’s at 8:00 o’clock. And for his good luck it did, lighting up the candles all around the room, he decided it was time to hide. Mikey heard the door being open, and Y/N’s voice! It was even sweeter in person, he resists the urge to run, he needed to be patient.
“So, guess who’s waiting for you in here.” April hugged Y/N and walked towards the door. “Good luck.” She and Casey disappeared.
“Mikey?” Y/N asked, she was nervous too!
Her friends kept saying her he was going to be a serial killer or something, but she knew it wasn’t true, she loved him, and he loved her.
“Y/N.” His voice sounded close.
“Where are you?” She asked to the almost dark room. “I want to see you.”
“You will, just, please don’t run away.” Mikey walked silently.
“Why should I run awa...” Uh oh, and then our Orange boy popped out.
Her eyes widened, she looked at him up and down, but finally staring at his Baby blue eyes. Mikey looked at her as well, she was such a Beauty! Her legs looked so hot in that orange dress! Orange! She remembered his favorite color! Their eyes meet, he saw many emotions in those cute eyes, but he never sensed fear.
“I’m sorry, if i’m not what you wanted.” He looked to the floor, feeling defeated.
“You are even better than I expected.” Y/N smiled, walking towards him, and placing one hand on his cheek.
“I thought you will hate me.” Mikey placed his hand on top of her, watching how she looked at his three-fingered hand. “I thought you will hate me for being a freak.
“Hey, you’re not a freak, you’re my boyfriend, remember?” She giggled, She was right, she didn’t expected that his internet boyfriend was a Mutant Turtle.
But she definitely didn’t mind.
“We’ve been talking since I was 18, and I just turned 23, so.” Those beautiful eyes looked at him, without judging him. “I gave you five years of my life and time, and I fell in love with everything I knew about you, I heard you fighting with your brothers, and I heard you laughing, crying, and you know.” Mikey blushed, phone sex? Hell yeah. “I’ve learned to love everything about you without seeing your face.”
“My precious Peachy thing.” He hugged her, finally having her in his arms. “I love you, and thank you for loving me the way I am.” Now, he was crying, tears running down his cheeks, but they were tears of joy, she loved him.
She really did.
He kissed her, after five years, she was in his arms, and he was never going to let her go. She kissed back, feeling happiness running through her veins, it was real, they were together, and she loved everything about him.
They both did.

The Good, the Bad, and the IDK How To Feel About That of: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016) (Part 2)
(Continuing from where we left off)
Good: THE ENTIRE BIT WITH CASEY V. SPLINTER! How you see Raph and Mikey look at each other with mischief in their eyes before trying to look serious, how Leo laughs for just a moment before trying to be the serious leader again and trying to get them to stop, and then how they all just look on in amusement when Casey charges Splinter, it’s all wonderful! Plus with Splinter’s “giant rat one, new guy zero” YOU KNOW he heard them and played along. I love it all.
Bad: Casey only ever saw the truck from the front, so how would he recognize the Tartaruga Brothers logo?
Good: Just give me an entire movie of Donnie doing science stuff, it’s all I need in life.
Good: Leo’s head shake and smile when Donnie’s rambling about science stuff (I’m ignoring the initial eye roll)
Good: AUGH, HOW DONNIE INSTANTLY STOPS BEING EXCITED ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF BECOMING HUMAN, COMING UP WITH REASONS WHY WHAT LEO’S SAYING MAKES SENSE, IT HURTS MY HEART SO GOOD JOB MESSING WITH MY EMOTIONS
Good: Leo’s sword training is AWESOME (I’m jealous, high-key jealous)
IDK: You guys haven’t finished that Christmas album yet? It’s been a year, lol
Good: I really like how instead of just charging in, yelling about how Leo didn’t tell them about the ooze, Raph leads up to it, talking about honor which he knows is important to all of them.
Good: THE LOOK ON RAPH’S FACE, LOOKING AT LEO LIKE “Did you really think we wouldn’t find out”
Good: YOU CAN SEE THE EXACT MOMENT LEO REALIZED WHAT RAPH IS TALKING ABOUT AND IT JUST SCREAMS “oh shit” THIS BOY KNOWS HE DONE MESSED UP
Bad: You tell people about this stuff Leo
Bad: You did not consult with Donnie, you told him what to do
Bad: “There’s only one vote that counts in this family, mine.” LEO NO
Good: Donnie nerding out about the museum, same
Good: Donnie rambling on about science, his mind whirling at a mile a minute while he figures out what’s going on, freaking heck they did so well with Donnie in this movie
Good: Knowing that portals work both ways (it’s like Hawkeye from Avengers all over again)
Good: April knowing something is up with Raph and Mikey doing stuff without Leo and Donnie, but rolling with it
** “Who you calling chicken, turtle?” Oooooh, sick comeback Jones (not)
Good: I feel like all the comments about Casey not being buff or anything is them joking about Amell’s role in Arrow, because at this point the shows been going on for like…4 years, and he’s freaking jacked in that show, plus I’ve seen this guy run through an American Ninja Warrior obstacle course like it’s nothing. If this is them making jabs at that, then that’s hilarious.
Good: I love Raph and Mikey trying to get through police headquarters by themselves, like A for effort you guys, you’re doing so well.
Good: ‘Heroes in a half-shell’ jingle again and Donnie sounding happy that Mikey’s calling him and then instantly going into big brother mode and telling Mikey that they’re on their way.
IDK: THEY’RE NOT MONSTERS AND I KNOW THIS IS JUST HAMMERING HOME THE WHOLE ‘they wouldn’t be accepted’ THING WHICH IS WHY I’M NOT MARKING THIS AS BAD BUT HOLY FREAKING HECK AM I PISSED AT THAT COP!!!
Good: Mikey’s soft “we’re not monsters” SOMEONE GIVE THIS RAY OF SUNSHINE A HUG, HE DOESN’T DESERVE THIS
IDK: I really don’t know how to feel about Leo’s reaction to Mikey feeling hurt by what the cop said. I really don’t.
Good: Mikey sounding genuinely happy for Bebop and Rocksteady “achieving the power of flight”, lol, pure bean.
IDK: Is Raph only afraid of jumping because of the lack of things to grab on to or something, he jumps around New York and off of buildings no problem.
Good: DONNIE JUST CASUALLY WALKING OUT OF THE PLANE
Good: All of their reactions to Donnie just jumping, lol
Good: “Prepare for the ouch!” AND THEN THEY ACTUALLY SAY OUCH WHEN THEY HIT THE PLANE, LOL XD
Good: Mikey’s reaction to seeing a giant warthog and rhinoceros that he knows they’re going to have to fight is just the single “HEH” awkward laugh, I love it
Good: Donnie just holding onto the part of the Arc Capacitor and telling everyone who’s fighting around him to watch it, lol
Good: IF YOU LOOK IN THE BACKGROUND AFTER ROCKSTEADY FIRES THE TANK, YOU CAN SEE LEO JUST GIVING HIM THIS LOOK AND THEN HE JUST RAISES HIS ARMS LIKE “are you serious right now”
Good: Donnie’s “I’m doing awesome”, yeets the control stick away, lol
**Bebop, don’t tell me you’re thinking you can outswim a turtle, please
Bad: I hate how much wire was used to run the camera feed to the box, it’s so inefficient and an absolute waste of wire.
Good: Once again ‘heroes in a half-shell’ jingle being used because the job was successful, I love how much Donnie uses this little ring tone for things.
Good: I hate conflict but it’s very well done right here and I just want them to stop fighting, so bravo making me feel emotions again.
Good: Donnie instantly jumping to Mikey’s defense with a “how could you!”
Good: The Chief just says “well-played” in response to Casey having picked her pocket to steal her phone, big mood
IDK: I want to know how Donnie hacked the Technodrome, like is it just one giant Wi-Fi hotspot, how did he even connect to it?
IDK: How does he know the atmosphere is toxic, just give me a little explanation, please
**I want to know how that ooze works, full injection causes full permanent mutation, drops of slightly re-engineered version causes very temporary changes lasting only a few seconds, and apparently one sip changes external appearance but not internal systems. Does it have to physically enter the body via injection or ingestion in order to make permanent changes? (assuming it would permanently change their appearance, that could also be temporary, but if it was then wouldn’t Donnie say that?) Why would it start externally and work inwards when it would first make contact with internal systems? (so many questions, I just want to know how it works, I love science stuff)
IDK: And Raph just made the decision for everyone without asking…just like Leo did
Bad: PUT DOWN THOSE GUNS I SWEAR
Bad: EVEN AFTER SHE SAYS TO HOLD THEIR FIRE THERE’S STILL COPS POINTING THEIR GUNS, STOP IT
Good: I LOVE THEIR LITTLE TEAM UP THING ACKNOWLEDING EACH OF THEIR DIFFERENCES!
**A footnote in the history of the Foot clan, ba-dum tss
Good: “When something bad happens, you want to be with the turtles!” Lol, Vern’s got it figured out
Bad: Why is Shredder surprised about being betrayed by Krang when he just betrayed Stockman?
Good: I’m pretty sure in the area where Krang puts Shredder, you can see a Triceraton and I love the reference.
Good: I love Casey’s “well do you wanna switch?”, he sounds so done
Good: “chewed up piece of gum with a face” is the best description of Krang that I’ve ever heard
Bad: The way Vern jumps down on that Foot ninja, like come on, the dude saw him and still didn’t do anything!
Good: “He is literally re-arming” Lol, very true
Good: Excellent use of momentum when Leo nearly gets thrown off the Technodrome and just swings back around, I love it
Good: When Donnie finds the beacon, just slowly realizing that it’s way out of reach, lol
**I’m so sorry, more science rambling: Would removing the beacon from its spot instantly start messing with the construction of the Technodrome, like are each of the pieces set to assemble in a certain order at certain distances from the beacon, meaning that once assembly has begun and the beacon gets moved, the pieces would suddenly try to readjust? Or is it a more general signal and the pieces know where they’re supposed to connect with room for error, which is why the signal needs to be outside the Technodrome in order for assembly to stop? (I just want to know how it works 😭)
Good: I LOVE how instantly they’re all each going after Krang the moment he has Mikey, saying how nobody messes with Mikey, and I swear, there’s a little bit of extra sass with how they move their weapons after taking Krang down, like a “that’s what you freaking get”. Like, at the end of the day, they’re protective of their baby brother and heaven help anyone that tries to hurt him.
Good: THEY GET KEYS TO THE CITY
Bad: “I think you should give people more credit, they’ll accept you now.” SAYS THE PERSON THAT WAS INITIALLY CALLING THEM MONSTERS WHILE HER OFFICERS POINTED GUNS AT THEM. “You could live a normal life, like the rest of us.” YOU KNOW HOW PEOPLE ARE, STOP GIVING THEM FALSE HOPE!
Alright, that’s the entire movie. Honestly, I love it a lot more than the first, there’s so much good stuff in this movie, you can see how they’re teenagers, so much more Donnie (after a severe lack in the first one…I’m also very biased since he’s my favorite, lol), and the sibling relationships between the turtles is great. Time for a tally.
Good: 69.90% (72 goods) Bad: 20.39% (21 bads) IDK: 9.71% (10 IDKs)
(I hear there’s plans for another one…I can’t wait to see how that turns out, lol)

The Turtles: "I am now."
Warning: Swearing
Leo: You were both in the dojo. You have been really stressed lately and he thought a nice work out would help to give you an escape. You have been training with the turtles for several months and could hold up your own. Fighting in hand to hand combat you were able to get a couple of good hits on Leo. Seeing your body move, listening to your little taunts and training with you allowed Leo to sense your every attack. Then out of the blue he froze. He noticed the sweat on your neck, trailing down your shoulders and if your were somewhat glowing in the dim light. Your hair, usually a mess, was pulled back and into a sharp ponytail. And your eyes......he could stare at your eyes all day if you allowed him to. He felt he could drown in them, like they were a window to your very soul. He was so distracted by his thoughts that he didn't see you slip behind him and trip him. Falling back with a surprised shout, you were shocked. You never expected the move to actually work. Leaning over him, you stared at his upside down face. "Leo, are you okay?" He gave a genuine smile that reached his eyes. "I am now."
Don: Don was always working away in his lab. With a mind like his, he could never truly sit still. He was constantly fidgeting and moving and creating. He was often so lost in his own thoughts he ignored the world around him. And yet, he would always perk up around you. It was as if you broke him out of his trance every single time. So when you went into the lab and you saw him slouched over, eyes closed and his face on the keyboard, you couldnt help but smile. You went over to his side carefully, and saved his unfinished work before he would lose his data. He had been working extra hard to find a device that would fry Bishops databases, keeping them off the grid for good. But he was over working himself again, pushing himself past the limits of exhaustion. You wouldn't be surprised if he hadn't slept since the last time you visited the lair-five days ago. You had grabbed a blanket to place around him when suddenly he shot straight up and toppled out of the chair. "Don are you alright?" You said as kneeled by his side. You didn't like the fear in his eyes, the expression of pure terror of his rather quiet nightmare. You gently place your hand on his shoulder. His eyes snap up at you and you can practically see the relief washing through them. Those gentle eyes gave him a sense of security, those lips, usually smiling, were turned down with concern and that hand, comforting him without any fear of their difference. Not thinking twice, he pulled you towards him and laid down on the floor in a desperate hug. You wrapped your arms around him, whispering comforting words while stroking his cheek. His eyes never left yours. Once his breathing calmed and he grip wasn't as tight, you placed your forehead against his and whispered to him. "You feeling any better?" He couldn't help the small smile on his face "I am now."
Raph: She wasn't supposed to be here! How could she be so stupid? She saw him and Casey be surrounded by purple dragons with no back up. Now she was here, thick in the fight, protecting the unconscious Casey as much as possible while keeping an eye on Raph. She had blocked several of the attacks directed at him, and had given a few critical hits that left the enemies quickly dropping. Raph was so into the fight against the five guys around him that he didn't sense the one who slipped behind him, with the glistening dagger. You jumped into action, as you took down the last of your enemies and ran, ran towards Raph and shoved him out of the way. He connected with the ground hard. You screamed in pain as the knife cut at your arm. Raph jumped to his feet roaring in anger. "YOU LEAVE HER ALONE!" He fought against the last of the dragons, using his sais to take them down permanently. You began to feel light headed as you looked down your arm. You tried to apply pressure to wound but you were losing too much blood. The last thing you remember before blacking out was the arrival of the other brothers and Raph's voice, calling your name. When you woke up next, you were back at the liar. Specifically, you were back on the cot in the lab. Sitting on the bed beside you was a very annoyed and scared Raph. His eyes met yours and his face relaxed to one of relief for a split second. His hand held yours as the other one brushed your hair out of your eyes. His voice came out as a low growl "Ya alright?" You gave him a small smile. "I'm okay don't worry." He tensed, anger flaring inside him once more. "Don't worry? DON'T WORRY! YA PASSED OUT IN AN ALLEY TRYNNA PROTECT ME FROM PURPLE DRAGONS! YA LOST SO MUCH BLOOD DON SAID YA WOULDN'T MAKE THE NIGHT! AND NOW YA TELLIN ME NOT TA WORRY!" He was furious, he had been pacing the room back and forth and giving you glares. You felt your own anger rise at his words. "I was trying to protect you!" You countered, rising to a sitting position. He whirled on you. "THATS THE DAMN PROBLEM! GOD, HOW COULD YA BE SO STUPID?! DON'T YOU SEE IT? I'M A FREAK! IF I DIE, NO ONE WILL GIVE A SHIT-" "I WOULD GIVE A SHIT!" You screamed so loud you cut off his rant mid way. You had tears in your eyes. "I care about you Raph! I know you feel like a monster but you're not! You're a good person and I can't imagine my life without you, can't you see that?! You have a family who loves you, friends who care about you and me......if something happened to you I don't think I'd ever recover. I'd rather die today and know you live another day than risk you getting hurt!" You were on shaking feet and at some point the tears had began to fall down your cheeks. But that barely mattered as he lifted you in his big arms and held you against him, his lips firmly against yours. When you finally pulled away, you gave him a look. "Realizing what an idiot you are?" He smirked. "I am now."
Mikey: You two were just on the couch, having some fun playing some video games when you had enough of him winning. You decided to steal his black wireless remote right out of his hand. "Hey!" He called out. "Give it back!" You gave him a mischievous smile. "Make me." Those words were dangerous as he began to chase you around the liar. Being a ninja he easily caught you and placed you on the couch, where he began ticking you mercilessly. "Ah! Mike! Stop!" You called out giggling as you tried to tickle you back. He suddenly froze. Seeing you like this, your hair a mess, the biggest smile on your face and your chest rising and falling with your laughter, it made his heart soar. He didn't think he ever saw anything so beautiful in his life. "Oh my God you're perfect." You blinked up at him before you smiled at his words. It took him a moment to realize his mistake as he got off you. "Mike wait!" You called to him before he could take off. He hesitated. You grabbed his hand and kissed his cheek. "You're pretty amazing too." He blushed a deep red and you couldn't help but tease him. "Aw are you embarrassed?" He shook his head "Well, I am now."

This. THIS. I personally think is one of the best thing about this new show, the animation is absolutely beautiful and fun.  With the use of bright colors and solid black shading, this art style have a comic kind of vibe to it. (Which is very appropriate, considering the show’s origin.) And while the character design did not sit right with me at first, It actually looks pretty great in motion.
What I like about the character design in particular is how different they are. You can tell right away who’s who right from the silhouettes, and that is absolutely key when it comes to character design because it sets the sense of individuality. Even though you might argue “Same silhouettes gives them the sense that the are a team.” and while I do agree to some level, I also think that this is not a bad thing either.
The best part though, is the animations. Specifically, the action sequences. I honestly didn’t expect this show to be that good but my jaw DROPPED when I saw the first action sequences. It’s so smooth and energetic just like how you expect an action cartoon to be. (Pause, yes I do realized that this is a comedy show, but it’s TMNT. obviously there will be fighting involved.) I mean, just look at the intro for example.  You can’t tell me that isn’t good quality animation, because it IS good and that is one thing I think most of us can agree on.

Storyline & Humor
The story is definitely on a weaker side when comparing this to the previous shows, The one shot story can be a hit or miss to some (For example, For me personally the hit was Down with the sickness and the miss was Repo Mantis.) There isn’t much going on for plot as of now. BUT the show have already shown itself to have continuity, although not big. Plus, This is only the first few episodes of the first season. There are many other shows that starts to pick up on plot later in the season or after the first season.
The humor though, is a different story. I like the humor of this show, I find it entertaining without feeling like it was forced. I find the dialogues and timing to be one of the best when it comes to this topic and probably why Leo and Donnie are my favorite characters out of the cast, Leo’s one-liners never really felt out of place, It’s light-hearted the the humor comes from the aftermath such as the reaction he gets. Donnie’s on the other hand is some what darker and cruder, flat humor if you will. His ‘jokes’ are never really jokes but his dialogue are naturally funny without anyone really reacting to it. Sadly, While Raph and Mikey had some moments to shine, I didn’t find them as ‘funny’ per se.

Characters & Relationships
For this section, I’ll talk about the main characters individually and how I feel about them THEN a summary of their relationships, Here we go.
Raph: The Leader of this new show, Or more so the automatic leader due to him being the eldest of the 4. Raph in this version doesn’t seem to have any anger issues and instead act like the strong leader figure for the rest of the team, He’s shown to be very kind and supportive. (And he loves small animals like c’mon.) All I could really say is I like this version of Raph as of now, I think he’s an overall good character.
Donnie: This is the character that I would go up and ask “What happened to you.” Because he isn’t the gentle being that deserved better like in the 2003 or 2012 version and instead, he’s basically insane and I mean that in the best way possible. His dialogues is one of the best in the cartoons that I’ve watch and his over the top vibe of “I will kill you with zero hesitation” is very entertaining and the timing is almost always perfect. He is the funniest (for me) for sure.
Leo: I will say it now, Leo is my favorite of out the whole cast. Not for the humor, but rather how complex his character actually is when you look into it. He isn’t just a comic relief, Leo had proved himself to be more intelligent than he had let on. He had shown multiple qualities of a natural leader AND a good ninja such as quick-thinking skills, motivational and fast reflexes, and he said that he doesn’t even train. He can be the leader, but he doesn’t want to as of now and I think that aspect of his character is very interesting.
Mikey: How I will describe Mikey is that he is like an innocent child with good heart, He’s the heart of the team for sure. While I do really love Mikey, I don’t have much to say about him because sadly, he didn’t stand out as much as say Donnie or Leo did. He seems to be more of a follow the crowd kinda guy and that’s hard for me to analyze.
April: I like this April, I like her head-strong personality and her pure energy almost shot through the screen. April can pull her own weight while still knowing how to work as a team, She isn’t too over baring but not too bland. I find her relationship with the turtles to be natural and I like that she doesn’t feel like she’s just there for the sake of existing. She’s definitely one of the best April out there, for me.
Splinter: Lets be honest here, does anyone expect this to be all positive? I’m sorry but he’s my least favorite out of the main cast. I simply don’t like how he is portrayed: child-like. I think he should atleast be more mature, HOWEVER, I will give it to him that he clearly have a close relationship with his son. You can say he’s a bad teacher, but he certainly isn’t a bad father.
How I would describe the relationship between the brothers is: 2012 TMNT is the sibling relationship you have and the 2018 TMNT is the sibling relationship you WANT to have. The brothers clearly care deeply about eachother in both version, sure. But the 2018 cast actually express it and I find that very admirable, You can clearly tell that while they’re different they really do love each other like a family.
Tumblr media
In conclusion
While I don’t enjoy this show as a drama/action show like I did with the 2012, I absolutely enjoy it as the comedy/action this show is clearly aiming for. There are some things that still bothers me like the current absence of deep plot, I genuinely liked the change and I admire the fact that the writers had the balls to write something different for us to enjoy instead of going the safe route. I think if anything we should support that, I really do. I love this show so far and if you don’t, That’s fine too! because all of us will enjoy different things but that doesn’t mean that we have to go hate on the creators because we don’t like it or say disrespectful things to people who doesn’t enjoy it because we liked it. So please, respect each other. That concludes my rise of the tmnt review, thanks for reading and peace out.

Sparking the Pavement: Chapter Two
TMNT Human!AU Storyline for Raph x Stacey
Chapter Two
Sure enough, Raphael found himself returning to the store, quickly running out of good excuses as to why he did. Not that the paper thin excuses went over her head, it was painfully obvious why he did come back, even to her when she was still quick to deny anything.
With his return came payment. Not that she complained. It was almost as if she had the money there waiting for Jax, more than happily handing it over with a flustered smile on her lips. “Told ya so,” he’d murmur, smiling from ear to ear while counting out his profit, not that he needed to. He knew she’d pay up handsomely.
Raph turned up so often it became normal to see him around the shop. Sometimes being mistaken for working there, to which he simply answered their questioned or referred them to his ‘fellow staff members’ for more advice, which got him the smirk and scowl he so loved seeing from her.
He was already infatuated with Stacey, wanting to see her as much as he could, when he could. Sparing any free time to dropping by, seeing her eyes light up when he did was enough to improve any mood of day he was having. Even a fiery temper from a common fallout with his brother was calmed by her smile.
The flirting cooled and became genuine interest, but wasn’t forgotten and heated things when the opportunity arose, his silver tongue often getting her in trouble when her boss wasn’t looking. It was mutual though, as she knew how to rattle his cage and get under his skin too, wanting nothing more than to hear that low approving growl that rumbled deep in his chest.
It had crossed his mind many times, but the time and place to ask her out never met his ideals, always finding himself cut short for time or being interrupted by Jax or another customer. It was starting to become an itch he couldn’t scratch. He needed to ask her before he ended up screaming it out, not sure how much longer his heart could stand it.
By then she had his number, but it was beyond him to ask her via text. He wasn’t a teenager anymore. That was something more likely to come from his youngest brother, not surprised in the slightest when he witnessed it happen, rolling his eyes at the hollering that echoed around the lair when he got a yes.
Today was a good a day as ever, and so he went for it, biting the bullet despite his anxiety. Learning her favourite morning drink, he made sure to head in just after opening, hoping it wasn’t too much to bring her a coffee. Second guessing himself as he paid the barista, he shook it off and continued with his quest.
Even though the sign still read closed, he carefully opened the door with a push with his shoulder, not surprised to see her sat behind the front desk with her earbuds in. A common routine she had while trying her best to stay awake, blasting some heavy music in her ears to shake off the drowsy haze still wrapped around her, often rushing to work without breakfast too.
Approaching her carefully, he crouched down to her level, chuckling to himself seeing her half lidded eyes behind a curtain of hair as she scrolled on her phone. Standing up straight again, he placed her coffee down carefully on the countertop, standing back to sip his own and wait for her to catch the fresh smell without making her jump out of her skin by tapping her shoulder. He could wait eternity for her to just glance in his direction.
Ever glad that the shop was not an environment of early birds, Stacey sat behind the front counter blasting music she hoped would shake her brain cells awake. She was scrolling idly through her phone, nothing in particular taking her interest as she went through the routine of checking Instagram and other apps. Shifting her posture a little, she tucked one side of her loose hair behind her ear, and in doing so caught a whiff of coffee. Blinking as her mind caught up with her nose, it confused her as she knew she was the first one there that morning and she hadn’t gotten up the gumption to go and start the shops pot just yet.
Looking up towards the garage, it was just as it had been when she came in. Turning towards the counter, she was caught utterly off guard when she discovered she wasn’t alone like she thought she had been. Yelping with a startled jump, she fumbled her phone, it bouncing off each hand she tried to catch it with before clattering to the floor and ripping the headphones out of her ears. Her wide, embarrassed eyes slowly turned to meet those of a graceful, large man who likely would’ve snuck up on her even if she hadn’t had the headphones in. “Jesus H Christ!! How long have you been there?”
Raph appeared to make an attempt to not react, to let her save face, but he failed, his shoulders bobbing with a deep chested chuckle. If she didn’t enjoy his smile so much, she might’ve been inclined to throw something at him. Not that it would matter, he’d catch it, anyway. “Not long, but long enough,” he answered, his voice rich with mirth.
It reminded her of the first time she had met him, and she hid her own smile by stooping to pick up her phone, wrapping the cords around it as she stood up and adjusted her expression into one of mock offense. “It is way too early to be giving me a coronary.”
“Is it?” he asked, making motions to slide the large coffee cup sitting on her side of the counter back towards himself. “I s’pose I could just take this back, then.”
“No!” she yelped again, jumping to grab the life blood of mornings, and brushing his hand in the process. She was fairly certain her eyes were just as wide as they had been when she first noticed him, so she flickered them back down, scooping the warm paper cup up to her face and breathing deeply before taking a sip. Closing her eyes, she let herself believe it was just the sensation of her favorite drink rolling across her tongue that had her savoring the moment, and not the feel of his calloused hand brushing against hers, or the fact that he had brought the perfect drink to her first thing in the morning.
When she opened her eyes, she found him smirking back at her over the rim of his own cup, which was distracting enough in its own right without her noticing how dwarfed the cup was in his large hand. Clearing her throat and trying to gain some level of composure, she rested the cup back down easily, wetting her lips. “Honestly though, thank you, this might just help me make it through the day. How did you know, and what has you here so early?”
Shrugging nonchalantly, he peered down at her with a lazy lopsidedly grin behind his cup before sipping at it again. “Was in the neighbourhood...” he said a little playfully, pretending to ignore her eyes narrowing a little at his answer. “I figured you’d need the kickstart, since someone don’t like lookin’ after herself.” The pout on her lips at his remark only confirmed that fact, and she couldn’t exactly come out and say he was wrong when he wasn’t. Her fumbling and lagging reaction had been proof of it too. “Okay, fine, but how do you know my order? Hmm?”
“Ahh… now,” he started, clicking his tongue before tossing his empty paper cup into the trash can, not without a flair of a trick shot as it bounced off the rim twice before landing perfectly upright at the bottom of the basket. Leaning forward on to the counter, he gave her a sly smirk to which she couldn’t help but mirror.
“That would be tellin’. I ain’t about to give all my secrets away to ya. Gotta keep you on your toes somehow.”
Letting her eyes linger a little too long in his captivating golden gaze, she peeled them away to look down at her hands, gently sliding the cup back and forth between them. “Fine, but now I’m just more curious as to how you tick.”
Chuckling deep in his chest, his shoulders bobbing a little, he tilted his head so he looked up at her from under her hair again. “Well, maybe if you go out for a drink with me tonight...you might learn a thing or two…” Quirking a brow, his smirk dissolving into a friendly smile, he desperately tried to calm the anxiety bubbling away inside of him. It wasn’t how he expected it to come out, but it escaped his lips before he had time to think up a better way to ask, slide it into a later conversation. Maybe it was just the excitement of it, wanting to know her answer sooner rather than later.
Stacey could tell her skin was going flush again, and with the way he tilted his head to catch her gaze, she knew he had that figured out about her. No looking away to avoid looking vulnerable or embarrassed in front of him would work, not that she really honestly wanted it to. Her heart had climbed up into her throat, and her pulse roared in her ears. She’d been dying for him to ask for ages, why was is suddenly so hard to find the words, any words, to answer him?
Running circles around the plastic lid of her coffee with her finger, she lifted her head more, taking the chance to look a little vulnerable in front of him. “That sounds like you’re asking me out on a date,” she answered finally, giving him a bit of a coy look. She couldn’t let him have it quite that easily.
It was his turn to look away, his own eyes dipping to the counter as he rubbed the back of his neck. She was bolstered a little bit that he seemed a bit nervous himself, when normally he kept as cool as a cucumber. The roguish smile and hopeful gaze as he looked back up was just about all she could handle. “I s’pose it does.”
“Well, I have one question for you, then,” she offered, leaning in a bit across the counter, her hair falling from her shoulders and sliding over the smooth countertop, worn from years of use. He looked on inquisitively, but said nothing, propping his chin up with the knuckles of one hand as he leaned in as well, awaiting her answer. “What took you so damn long?”
Studying her carefully as she questioned him, his lips slowly curved into a smirk, his anxiety washing away and being replaced with a heavy thud of his heart. He had to admit, he had panicked when she had a question, instantly assuming it would have been something along the lines of ‘are you out of your mind’ or ‘are you serious?’ Assuming maybe he dealt his cards wrong, was too forward and confident, throwing his chances forever out the window. Luckily she was just as playful as he was, just as sly and devious and it suited him just fine. She kept him on his toes as much as he did with her, testing him constantly, and he was always ready to take whatever hit she’d throw his way.
“Gotta leave you wanting more, just to be sure, besides...” Shifting his weight, dropping his hand to her coffee cup, he swilled it around a little as he continued, his voice shifting to a huskier tone. “I gotta know what a lady likes before I can treat her right. Ain’t about to drag her to some snobby fancy-ass restaurant if she’s a whiskey drinker.”
Dropping the cup into her hand, he turned his gaze up to meet hers again, a mischievous glint in his eye. “You saying I’m not fancy?” Stacey pouted, playing the mock offensive card again.
“Fair from it, darlin’, I jus’ know you’re a woman of finer tastes. Got a place in mind that’ll be perfect for ya.”
Raising a brow curiously, tilting her head upward to him as he stood back to full height again, she hummed in thought. “Really now, but let me guess… It’s a surprise?”
“You got it,” he winked, stepping backwards as he headed back toward the door, never leaving her gaze as he did. Reaching out, not looking, he grabbed the door handle, as if he had eyes in the back of his head. “I’ll be around later to pick ya up. Don’t go slackin’, or no date.” Pointing a judging finger at her, a mock stern expression on his face that quickly crumbled into a grin, she dramatically rolled her eyes at him to play along, trying to distract from the fact her face was burning up again. “Fine, I’ll behave for now. But no promises later though…”
“Oh, I don’t doubt you’ll be gettin’ me in to trouble later…” He had done well so far, getting as far as opening the door but kept finding himself looking back to her, the look in her eyes always tempting him back. “Catch ya later.”
“See you soon.”
No wonder people thought he worked there too, he had been spending more time at the shop than the dojo recently, but he really had to go. Part of it was also the worry she would change her mind. If he left right then, it gave her time to think, give her time to message him later in the day to turn him down, but he prayed she didn’t. However, given the look in her eye, something told him she’d be running out the door come closing time.
As he left, Stacey couldn’t help but smile into her coffee cup, the taste of victory and anticipation making it all that much sweeter. It put a bounce in her step she couldn’t remember ever being there before, regardless of how much she may have looked forward to a date in the past. By the time Jax came in, she was humming along to the music she had playing in the shop, and was productively getting through some paperwork.
Leaning against the doorframe to the office, he looked at her with a lifted brow, amused by her good mood. “What? Why are you looking at me like that?” she asked, trying and utterly failing to look innocent.
“What’s got you so bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning?” he asked smugly, folding his arms and refusing to look away until she answered.
“Nothing,” she answered, feeling her skin betraying her and flushing a bright red. Trying to keep his gaze with a straight face, she finally let out her breath and threw her hands up in submission. “Fine. Fine! I have plans tonight, okay?”
Chuckling, he shook his head, his smile wrinkling his face endearingly. “It wouldn’t happen to be a date with a giant man who’s been makin’ this place his second home recently, would it?”
“Maybe,” Stacey answered, trying to look dignified as she shuffled some binders on the desk. “
“Speaking of, I’m gonna run out during my lunch today, but I’ll be back in plenty of time.”
Jax let out a hearty laugh, slapping the door frame. “Girl, you go take your time gettin’ prettied up for that boy. Don’t make a difference to me if you take a long lunch.”
“I am *not* getting prettied up!” she scoffed, turning a deeper shade of crimson. The man sure knew how to push her buttons, that was for sure.
“You keep tellin’ yourself that,” he laughed, all the way out into the garage.
***
Okay, so maybe she *had* prettied herself up. A little. Watching the clock tick along at a snail’s pace, she darted back into the bathroom to check herself in the mirror, wanting enough time to make it back out just in case he showed up a little early. Instead of her normal, basic but rushed makeup, she had taken her time, using her nicer supplies that were begging for some attention anyway. Her wingtip eyeliner was still on point as she checked it in the mirror, the light gold eyeshadow above it still in place. It was a bit of practicality, a bit of recognition. The color offset her green eyes well without out-matching the bold eyeliner, but it was also a nod to his golden eyes, and went well enough with his accent color of choice, red, on her lips.
Running her hands through her hair, she made sure the loose curls fell where she wanted them to, and that her hair swooped off her part just so. Double checking and adjusting the tight fit crimson tank top she wore, she bobbed her shoulders and settled the black denim button up that she chose to wear over the top of it. She was still wearing jeans and boots, as was her standard, but she chose the jeans that weren’t covered in grease stains and fit a little more snugly, as well as the boots that had a little more of a heel on them.
For once, she thought as she whisked back out of the bathroom, straightening some parts on the shelves, she didn’t have to worry about being *too* tall. Not that she was incredibly tall at 5’9”, but it was tall enough with a two inch boot heel to make some men uncomfortable. He’d still have plenty on her, which she didn’t figure he was terribly concerned about, but she certainly found attractive. He was the first guy she’d been out with that had the ability to make her feel physically small, which was novel.
Letting out a breath, she made herself stop thinking about “physically” before she got carried away. She was nervous enough, and if he showed up while she was in the midst of mentally “admiring” his musculature, she’d likely forget how to speak. Or walk. Or breathe.
Jax’s head poked through the door of the garage, just his head, asking, “Is Tarzan here yet?”
“Jax!” She threw a package of bolts in his direction, and they hit the closed door, their rattle and clatter doing nothing to quiet his cackling on the other side of the door. “Don’t make me come out there!”
***
Unsure of where to direct his new found energy, Raphael had to ditch Belle in her secret housing and take a walk, a long walk which turned into a jog, which turned into a sprint to the dojo. He needed to calm himself somehow, release the energy, maybe sparring or even heading back out to the gym would help. Frustrated for once at having no class to teach that day, he had no real outlet. Not that how he was feeling was a bad thing. He felt lighter than he ever had done in years, or ever. His heart soared and he couldn’t stop the constant smile that graced his features, the spring in his step. It revitalized him. Kicking the door open to the dojo, that time catching it before it slammed against the wall, as often was the case with his loud entrances, he jumped down the stairs and up on to the central platform. Surprised by the radiant mood his brother had brought in, Mikey didn’t even open the pizza box he had in his hands, too busy watching the rare scene in front of him with a wide eyed stare. “Uh...you okay, dude?”
“Never better!” Raising a brow, the blonde glanced over his shoulder to Donnie who was also starring in mild disbelief from his seat at his desk. “Wanna fill us in?” Rubbing his face, letting out a loud exhale of air, he had to think of a quick excuse. He hadn’t let on about her. He kept mostly everything about his own personal life a secret, even his own bike. God forbid Leo ever found out. Not that he could care any less right at that moment. He was riding a high and almost couldn’t contain himself, but he had to. Had to control his excitement for just the day. He wasn’t about to let his brothers in on his secret. Somehow they’d ruin it, scare her off, judge or chastise him for it. “Aw man, I jus’... I got a good feelin’ about today. Got some good sleep, finally got that new guard set? S’gonna be good.” He wasn’t lying as such, but the new gear he had bought hadn’t actually arrived yet, in fact he had only just ordered it the previous night. Not that they needed to know the details. “Fuck man, I got all this energy… Mikey, get over here!”
“Wha….what?” “Come here, try an’ kick my ass.” Still in shock, not really sure how to approach his excitable brother, Mikey hesitated, looking down at the pizza box forlornly before rolling his eyes and setting it down with Donnie. Why waste the opportunity, it didn’t come around often, or was so fleeting it was like catching a whisper in the wind. His pout quickly faded as he stepped up onto the platform with Raph, flashing a cheeky grin before starting to bounce on the balls of his feet. “Fine, but I ain’t going easy on you.” “Bring it, shorty.” Hunching down, a lopsided grin on his lips, Raph brushed at his nose while locking eyes with his brother. They had different styles, almost opposite techniques, but that was just what he needed. The challenge to tire him out. He was fast, difficult to hit, near impossible even. He would beat opponents just by dancing circles around them, figuratively and literally, sometimes not even needing to land a real hit to win.
Raph was different. He was direct, unmovable, almost the other end of the spectrum when it came to movement. He could work up a sweat just trying to keep up with his brothers pacing, but Mikey had to worry about getting caught. Even if they were highly skilled and trained in multiple forms of combat, they were brothers. They knew how the other worked.
After the unusually long silence between them as they watched each other, trying to judge where the other would move or attack from, Raph rolled his eyes with a grunt, “Jus’ fuckin’ move already!”
Smirking, Mikey faked darting one way before jumping back, narrowly avoiding a lunge. “Gotta keep ‘em eager, bro”.
Snarling, Raph lunged forward again, his fist missing again and again, but he kept throwing, chasing his brother and keeping him moving.
“Too slow!” Mikey chirped, leaning back from another swing. “Missed again!” It continued for a while, and although he had asked for it, his brothers cocky taunting was starting to grate on him. Hissing through his teeth, he held back a little, not using so much weight and lulling Mikey into an overconfident, false sense of security, knowing he’d start to run his mouth again.
“Gettin’ a little slow in your old age, huh?”
Holding fire, he smirked, pumping his shoulders up, holding his fists up ready. “Guess I am, but you’re getting cocky.”
“Tch, I’m just too good, tha’s all.”
Humming, Raph watched him intently, waiting for opportunity, his window that was coming all too soon. Mikey was getting distracted, his focus faltering. Knowing he was a kicker, that he’d try and land a final hit on him with an intricate flip, he would have a chance to catch him out. It was a mistake he often made when sparring against a him, his kicks never left a dent against his stance, it’d be like hitting a brick wall. “Yeah? Prove it.”
Right on cue. Psyching him out again, darting around him with a elegant flip, Mikey launched his signature flying back kick, only gasping loudly when it didn’t land how he lazily planned, misjudging the distance and the fact his brother had turned around on him unnervingly fast. Luckily, he hit something, but it stuck him, his foot caught and locked in Raph’s fist. “Too good? Too lazy.”
Holding Mikey’s foot high, Raph stood up straight with a smirk, watching his brother try to balance on one foot still caught in the motion, wobbling a little, needing to drop his leg. “Aww, fuck...come on, lemme go,” he whined, holding his arms out to steady himself.
“Nah, you look stupid. It’s kinda funny.” he teased, threatening to push him back. “I thought you were fast? Mr. ‘Untouchable’?”
“Yeah! I am! I just didn’t know you levelled up your speed today!”
Letting out a loud belly laugh, mostly at how desperate and awkward his brother looked, Raph tilted his head down mockingly. “Expect the unexpected, or whatever fortune cookie muck it is Leo says,” he scoffed before dropping his foot.
Fortunate that their youngest brother was rarely disheartened with losing, their sparring turned into a best two out three, then five out of seven, their bubble only being burst when Leo assigned everyone cleaning duties, which Raph managed to slide out of. Much to the dismay of Mikey, it was his prize, winning a free pass into skipping any chores for the rest of the day and thus freeing him to escape to his date.
“Don’t be hatin’ bro, maybe skip the pizza, then you might beat me next time,” Raph taunted, passing the blonde a broom with a toss as he left the room.
“Man, I liked Raph when he was being miserable… happy Raph suuuuuckkks,” he groaned, setting about his sweeping.

Rise/bay 23!! @brightlotusmoon @errorfreak88 @selfindulgenz
Donnie ran out of his room in an excited frenzy. His feet tip-tapped the happy dance he always did when he found a discovery. The light in his eyes, the flutter in his heart. The warmth overwhelming him. He ran right over to the cuddle pile, hesitating only to eye the strange scene curiously before prodding Donatello’s forehead.
“Mm?” Donatello’s eyes opened in an angry scowl at being disturbed.
“Hey!” Donnie was beaming, his eyes shimmering like dark pools of shiny chocolate, “Hi— here— here take a look at these!”
Donatello grumbled through his sleep-heavy state and ignored the pictures shoved in his face, covering his muzzle with his arms to block out the light.
“Wha— hey, come on! I think I found your April!”
Donatello hardly heard him, and the fuzz of his mind wasn’t sharp enough yet to care. As the bickering continued with Donnie’s mouth running like a motor trying to wake up the sluggish softshell, Raphael opened his own heavy eyes and started to listen in.
“Ugh! Make it stooooop!”
Leonardo reached over and prodded Donnie where his tail would have been under the pants, making the box turtle yelp and fall forward.
“There.” Leonardo snuggled back in against Raphael, “I found the off switch.”
Raphael was fully awake now and slowly started to untangle himself from his brothers. When he stood, the absence of his immense form made Michelangelo and Leonardo roll suddenly and slam into Donatello on either side. None of the three seemed to care. Raphael gave himself a minute or so to stretch and pop his joints before positioning himself behind his brothers, low to the ground. He sucked in a good deal of air, and then belched it back at his brothers.
The reaction was immediate. Screams of terror as the scent overwhelmed them and the panicked scrambling as his brothers tried to escape the stench. Their feet scrambled helplessly on the floor for a minute as the slick floor held them in place. Michelangelo was the first to find his footing, then Donatello, and lastly Leonardo. All scrambled to different corners of the lair.
“AH OH MY METAPHORICAL GOD!”
“THAT’S DISGUSTING!”
“DISHONOR ON YOU, DISHONOR ON YOUR FAMILY, DISHONOR ON YOUR COW!”
“You’re up now, antch’a?” Raphael laughed. “Whatchu got for us Don?”
“What? I don’t have anything for you.” Donatello answered.
“He meant other Don, Don.” Leonardo nudged his brother in the side, “Maybe we should mark you with paint or something— Don 1 and Don 2.”
“Not funny, Nardo!”
“No, it is extremely funny.” Leonardo laughed continuing to prod Donatello playfully.
“Nardo, if you keep doing that I’ll—“
“You’ll what?” Leonardo stuck out his tongue and bounced between legs as he continued to poke Donatello and avoid his swatting hands.
“Eh, ignore them.” Raphael smiled as he rubbed his neck and turned to address Donnie, craning his neck over to look at the pictures the box turtle reluctantly offered. “You found something?”
Donnie squeaked at the closeness of the snapping turtle’s head to him and pulled away quickly, dropping the photos in his panic. Raphael picked them up and his eyes lit up once he located the reason for the images.
“That’s April!”
That simple declaration was enough to make the other three forget about their playful bickering and hurry to Raphael’s side. The mutant held the proof of April low enough for his brothers to be able to look comfortably. Cheers sounded off seconds later.
“Yeaaah!”
“That’s April!”
“Oh, she’s okay!”
“Looook!” Leonardo prodded a finger against the paper at April’s chest, “She’s got the orb!”
“Ohh I hope she’s okay!” Michelangelo piped, crawling to hang over Leonardo’s shoulder.
“Time stamps from an hour ago.”
“Do you know where she is now?”
“Can we get a pizza on the way to find her?”
The smaller mutants started to swarm Donnie with their questions, but Raphael was quick to separate them and give the box turtle some space.
“This is the last I saw of her— she was heading into an alley and I can just kinda see her going up the fire escape.” Donnie said finally.
“Hey, isn’t that where dad was?” Leonardo pointed out.
There was a symphony of agreement.
“I didn't see her come back down though, so she’s probably still up there.” Donnie said, “Unless she found a different way down, which I don’t see why she would…”
Donnie gave yet another yelp as Raphael’s hand fell onto his shoulder. Raphael laughed.
“You’re a jumpy one arencha?” He gave Donnie a few comforting pats to try and reassure him, “Great work Don! You don’t know how much this means to us.”
Donnie’s eyes glimmered with astonishment at the genuine praise.
“Yeah, that big head is good for something after all.” Despite the insult, Donatello’s words came off as a good-natured joke as he circled around Donnie and leaned his head on the box turtle’s shoulder.
“You’re one to talk, peanut head!” Leonardo laughed, “Your head looks like Stewie Griffin’s in reverse!”
“Ha ha.” Donatello faux-laughed, “Very funny, Leon.”
Donnie shivered as Michelangelo scrambled up his shell, using the older turtle’s tech for hand and foot holds. “You’re so smart, other Donnie!”
“Uh— heh— thanks?” Donnie’s cheeks hurt from smiling so wide.
Raphael whistled, and his brothers all dislodged themselves from Donnie to heed his call. “Come on, Mad Dogz! April needs us!”
Another uproar of agreement sounded.
“I have an ideeeahhh!” Donatello purposely exaggerated the last word, “Let’s take the turtle tank!”
That suggestion sparked a series of cheers.
“You do have a turtle tank right?” Donatello asked, his brothers excited cheering still sounding behind him.
“Well— yeah— but—“
“Great!” Donatello didn't let him finish, and Donnie couldn’t help but wonder if it was on purpose.
“Wait— you’re not really supposed to…” Donnie’s voice only got softer as the cheers drowned him out and the other four set off searching for the tank, “Take it out of the lair without… oh never mind.”
Donnie followed reluctantly after them.
When they finally found the room they had been searching for, Leo blocked their path before they could enter. While the rest of the brothers stared at Leo— Donatello annoyed, Michelangelo concerned, and Raphael confused— Leonardo was quick to confront the box turtle.
“Hey guy, we were trying to get through there you know.”
“I know.” Leo crossed his arms pointedly.
“What, you the new door? Cause I’m not really seeing any working handles.”
Leonardo pretended to look all around Leo for a handle before returning to stand in a similar stance as the older shinobi, except more relaxed.
“Waiiiiit~ Are you like the sphinx? Gotta answer a riddle to get past you and if we get it wrong you just stare at us disappointedly!” Leonardo said the last part of the sentence in a low voice that tried to mimic Leo, standing up a little straighter and making sure to be loud. “Waitwaitwait, lemme guess: What’s green and uglier than a half-drowned mutant mole rat? And the answer is you! What’s my prize?”
Leonardo cupped his hands together and batted his eyes innocently, standing on one foot as he posed.
Leo didn't even address the annoying slider. “Donnie. What are you doing?” He asked slowly.
Donnie’s head shrank slowly into his shell. “Sorry Leo… I tried to stop them.”
“He spotted our April.” Raphael explained calmly.
“And so you thought you could just bully my brother into taking you out to get her?” Leo pulled up to his full height to try and tower over Raphael, even if the difference was only a few inches.
“Wha— bully?” Raphael frowned, not flinching at the attempt at a threat and looking more concerned for Donnie than for what Leo could do for him, “I didn't mean to bully him— did— did I?”
Raphael looked back at Donnie with soft eyes. Donnie was looking incredibly guilty, his eyes locked on the floor as he sniffled softly and adjusted his glasses. Raphael gave a long, almost mournful sigh and approached Donnie.
“Gee, I’m sorry. I didn't mean to press you into anything.” Raphael apologized, “I just really wanted to find our April.”
The rest of the collection of mutants muttered similar apologies, Leonardo even giving a bow to the box turtle. Donnie looked to Leo to make sure he wasn’t the only one made uneasy by this strange situation. Leo seemed to carry a similar sentiment.
“Don’t worry— we’ll go out and find your April.” Leo said finally when he was able to, “But you all need to stay here.”
“Stay here?” Leonardo shot back, “Why?”
Leo was more than happy to challenge the slider again, almost glad he finally got the mutants attention. “My brothers and I know this city better than you.”
“Yeah, and we know our April better than you! And you’re not my leader!”
At a simple touch on the shoulder from Raphael, Leonardo immediately calmed down. “We won’t get in your way.” Raphael addressed Leo.
“You better not.” Leo said after a hesitation, so used to an aggressive remark that a kind one threw him off guard for a moment. “Suit up Don. We roll out in five. You two as well!” Leo called across the lair to Raph and Mikey.
“What?” Leonardo turned to Raphael with a hushed voice, “You can’t be serious!”
“I’m not.” Raphael whispered softly out of the corner of his mouth. “I said we wouldn’t get in their way, and we won’t. Never said we weren’t going.”
Leonardo understood immediately and gave a soft laugh, punching Raphael playfully in the shoulder. “April, here we come.”
