Allah calls Himself Al-Hayy— The Ever-Living— on five occasions in the Quran. Al-Hayy is the One who is everlasting and undying, the One from whom all life arises. Al-Hayy is the One who was, is, and will always be alive!
The Everlasting, The Living
Hayy comes from the root haa-yaa-yaa, which points to four main meanings. The first meaning is to live. The second main meaning is to become apparent or distinct. The third is to revive, vitalize and call into being and the fourth main meaning is to be sound, or whole.
This root appears 184 times in the Quran in 12 derived forms. Examples of these forms are yuhyee (“grants life”), hayyan (“alive”) and al hayaatu (” the life”).
Al-Hayy is the One who has a continuous life with no beginning or end. His Life and all His Attributes are perfect. His life is self-sustaining and has no external source, whereas our lives have been granted to us by the Creator. Al-Hayy is the One who calls all life into being and He is the source to which life will return!
Al-Hayy Himself says: . . And [all] faces will be humbled before the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. And he will have failed who carries injustice [Quran, 20:111] And rely upon the Ever-Living who does not die..[Quran, 25:58] He is the Ever-Living; there is no deity except Him, so call upon Him, [being] sincere to Him in religion. [Quran, 40:65]
The Perfect Life
Al-Hayy is most often combined with the Name Al-Qayyoom, the Sustainer. This is a beautiful combination of the perfection of Allah’s Attributes and His Actions. Al-Hayy means the One who possesses the perfect living and so all His attributes are perfect: His hearing, His sight, His Beauty etc. Man’s life is imperfect from all sides: our hearing, sight, speech and actions are all imperfect. All the attributes of Allah are perfect, because any defiency in attributes would come from weakness of life and His life is perfect!
How Can You Live By This Name?
1. Rely upon the Ever-Living. And rely upon the Ever-Living who does not die, and exalt with His praise… [Quran, 25:58] Each source of our problems and distress lies in this world, whether it is money, family etc and these will all perish one day. This ayah gives us a beautiful reflection: while you put your trust in Allah, really realize how great the One is in who you trust. Use your imagination, go back in time for 100 years, 1000 years, a million or a billion years and Allah was alive. In the same way think about the future, so feel the glory that belongs to Him.
2. Motivate yourself to do good. The ayah continues: And sufficient is He to be, with the sins of His servants, Acquainted. [Quran, 25:58] As you leave all your matters to Al-Hayy, realizing His greatness and express this awareness by tasbeeh (saying subhanallah) coming from your lips, also take action with your limbs. Let Al-Hayy motivate you to do good deeds. Whereas people have not been with you all of your life, being able to see and hear all your bad deeds, Al-Hayy was, is and will be there with His perfect hearing and seeing which are part of His perfect life!
3. Recite Ayatul Kursi after each prayer and before going to sleep. In this greatest ayah of the Quran the Name Al-Hayy is mentioned and many virtues are narrated about ayatul Kursi. In each sentence one or two attributes of Allah are mentioned: . everytime you recite this ayah reflect on the Attributes of Allah and how they all emerge from His perfect Life: He is Al-Hayy!
4. Ask Al-Hayy. When the Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam was faced with a serious difficulty, he would say: Yaa Hayyu, Yaa Qayyum (O Ever-Living One, O Self-Existing One)! By Your mercy I seek help
سْتَغِيْث أَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ قَيُّوْمُ يَا حَيُّ يَا [Sunan At-Tirmidhee]
5. Be comforted by Al-Hayy.
Be comforted by Al-Hayy and turn to Him only when you lose things around you and know that He will always be there. When you are treated unjustly and see injustice around you, do your best to help according to the laws of Al-Hayy but also know that the injustice of every single person will be a cause of failure in the Hereafter. So guard for injustice from your own hands as well! And [all] faces will be humbled before the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. And he will have failed who carries injustice. [Quran, 20:111]
6. Turn to Al-Hayy for daily-life guidance.
The Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam oncementioned to Faatimah radiyallaahu ‘anha to recite the following supplication morning and evening: Yaa Hayyu yaa qayyoom bi-rahmatika astagheeth, aslih lee shaa-nee kullahu, wa laa takilnee ilaa nafsee tarfata ‘ayn – O Ever-Living One, O Self-Existing One, I seek assistance through the means of your mercy, correct for me all my affairs and do not entrust me to my nafs (myself) for the moment of a blink of an eye[An-Nasa’i] If Al-Hayy would even leave you to yourself for a split-second, you would perish!
Wallahu ta’alaa ‘alem.
O Allah, Al-Hayy, we know that You are the One who is everlasting and perfect alive. Bless us with reliance on You, make us realize Your Perfection of Life and so of all Your attributes and guide us to live by them. Make our life a source of good and give us a good end of life, inspire us to turn to You only and grant to us eternal life in the Gardens of Jannatul Firdaws, ameen!

Assalamu aleikum ♡ Could you please recommend me some hadith (or Qur'an verses) about times such as this, like the plague, and about dealing with emotions such as fear, anxiety and all the negativity that follows such challenging times? Thank you very much and may Allah bless you for all you're doing here!
Walaikum Assalaam
Don't be anxious. Whatever is meant to happen; it will happen. If we are written to be tested then we will be tested. We cannot change the circumstances but it's in our control how we respond to it.
“No amount of guilt can change the past and no amount of worrying can change the future. Go easy on yourself for the outcome of all affairs is determined by Allah’s Decree. If something is meant to go elsewhere, it will never come on your way, but if it is yours by destiny, from it, you cannot flee.”
-Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him)
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala won't burden us with something that we can't handle. Read these quotes it will help you in shaa Allah
"The Prophet ﷺ said, ‘There isn’t a man who stays in his house during a time when the plague occurs with patience, hoping for reward and knowing that nothing will afflict him other than that which has been written for him - except that he will have reward similar to the reward of a martyr.’ (Ahmad)
Ibn Hajar said whoever does the following three things will have the reward of a martyr whether he lives or he dies. Look at the beauty of this religion! The reward of a martyr for sitting at home. La ilaha ila Allah Muhammad Rasulallah ﷺ"
-Via Shaykh Mohammed Aslam
"If you’re feeling panicked, find a mushaf in your home. Even if you haven’t opened the Quran in such a long time- pick it up, hold it to your heart, and hug it. If you aren’t ready to start reading it, then just hold it and allow your heart to seek comfort from the Divine Words of the Most Merciful. And keep doing that until you start to open His Book.
Remember Who is in control. We are allowed to feel all of our emotions and it is valid to be so anxious you can’t sleep. In those moments, know you don’t have to be scared alone. Make istighfar- ask for His forgiveness. The Quran talks about this as a form of bringing so many different blessings into your life.
And when you’re overwhelmed at home trying to juggle your children’s needs and work, start saying Alhamdulilah- thanking Him. Because if you’re reading this on your smartphone, you might also be living in security with enough food in your fridge. There are people everywhere facing the virus without these basic necessities.
Many of you have empathized with oppressed populations, but not actively remembered their plight. This is our opportunity to remember the fear which they have lived with for decades in our daily prayers and call out to Him with a sincerity for them that we may have lacked when we simply didn’t know.
This is a time to process our emotions through our relationship with God. With the closing of masajid, the quarantining at home, the sudden unexpected rates of death and disease and the impact on that on our economies and daily lives an entire globe - isn’t it time to turn back to Him? The fact that you still have time to do so and are considering it- that’s a sign He has already turned to you. So turn back to Him."
-Ustadha Maryam Amir
"DO NOT squander this time. This is a windfall if you actually think about it.
The one thing that everyone regrets the most when they die is the time they wasted.
Life is a precious gift. No matter what your situation is right now, don’t forget that you were given EXISTENCE by the Creator of the Heavens and the Universe.
He WILLED for *you* to be here.
He CREATED *you* with intent.
He CREATED *you* to experience all the beauty and wonders of the world…to KNOW…to FEEL…to WITNESS…to HEAR….to TASTE…to LOVE…but perhaps you’ve forgotten what that really means and this is all to remind you!
Maybe you’re spared this illness so that you can actually take inventory of your life and get back in touch with who you are and what you’ve forgotten all these years distracted by work, responsibility, commutes, bills, taxes, school, family, friends, community service, etc…
Maybe you’re forced into spending time with your family because you’ve forgotten just how important they are to you or vice versa.
Maybe you’re supposed to have those long moments of panic and anxiety so that you move away from looking at the pantry shelves to looking at your children’s faces and realizing how much time has passed since you once held them in your arms and how the future is uncertain for you and them, but what matters is NOW and alhamdulillah you are with them and they are with you; healthy and together.
Maybe you’re supposed to scroll through pages of news and newsfeeds about this virus so that your neck begins to crane and you finally look up to see your spouse; the one whom, whether you’ve intended to or not, have taken for granted. You each have your roles to play and like ships passing each other in the night, you’ve found a rhythm, an efficient system to keep the family together…but what about you two? When is the last time you actually looked at one another with the loving gaze of someone who feels the value of the person in front of them upon their chest like a heavy weight? When is the last time you looked at your partner as if you weren’t guaranteed to see them tomorrow? Perhaps you’ll learn to do that now…and perhaps as a result, you’ll always see them that way and will never talk down to them, hurt them with insults, ignore them when they are in need, slight them in front of others, or treat them as though you are entitled to everything they do for you.
Maybe you’re supposed to wake up in the middle of the night sweating and unable to go back to sleep, so that you surrender to the solitude of the night and draw closer to the One who sends His angels looking for the ones who are looking for Him.
Maybe all of this started because of a dangerous virus with the potential to kill, but it will end by renewing life and light into hearts that died long ago; victims drowned by the turbulent waters of this dunya.
May Allah ﷻ guide us through these times to not squander the opportunities before us and to live and love fully, with presence, sincerity, transparency, and wholeheartedness. Amin."
-Ustadha Hosai Mojaddidi
"In the midst of all this uncertainty and panic, I know things look bleak today…
-I personally had to cancel travel plans for the next two months.
-Some of my dear friends had to cancel a major event they’ve been planning for almost a year.
-Some of my friends who are immunocompromised are worried.
-Some friends reached out to me because they don’t know what to do about their children attending school.
-Some friends are worried about their elderly parents.
-Some friends are worried about their livelihood and businesses not being able to survive.
Whatever the case may be, let us keep perspective that as Muslims our Shariah compels us to preserve five things:
1. Faith
2. Life
3. Sanity/Mind
4. Lineage
5. Property
Our utmost concern right now should be to protect our faith, our lives, and our mental wellbeing.
This virus is on this planet and doing what it’s doing SOLELY by the permission of its Creator.
Our response should be to SUBMIT to our Creator, prioritize our faith, and beseech Him for protection.
We must also act responsibly to preserve our own safety as well as the safety of everyone else (family, friend, or stranger) that we come in contact with.
Thus, we must “tie our camel” and put our trust in Allah ﷻ to protect us from any and all harm.
This balance of submitting to God FIRST and then preparing and being responsible for the worst will protect our sanity so that we do not become paranoid and unreasonably afraid.
We must also remember that whatever opportunities or sustenance we have lost was never ours to begin with, and the Most Generous will either replace it with something better in this life or the next, IF we remain patient and accept His decree.
So let us not fall into despair, sadness, fear, and anxiety. Let us be wise, patient, and use the time of imposed isolation to reconnect with our faith and our Lord, as well as with our families.
Sometimes it takes calamities like this to recalibrate our hearts and remind us what our priorities should really be.
May Allah ﷻ protect and guide us all. Amin."
-Ustadha Hosai Mojaddidi
Recite Astaghfirullah as much you can. As narrated in hadith
If anyone continually asks pardon, Allah will appoint for him a way out of every distress, and a relief from every anxiety, and will provide for him from where he did not reckon.(Abu Dawud)
Following are some dua that you can recite:
1.“Verily, distress has seized me, and You are the Most Merciful of all who show mercy.”
(Aayah No. 83, Surah Al-Ambiya, Chapter No. 21, Holy Qur’an).
2. Recite “Hasbunallahu wa Ni’mal Wakeel” when you feel restless
“Allah is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of Affairs.”
Ibn ‘Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) said: When (Prophet) Ibraheem(عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم) was thrown into the fire, he said: “Allah (Alone) is sufficient for us, and, He is the Best Disposer of affairs.” So did Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (ﷺ), when he was told: “A great army of the pagans had gathered against him, so fear them”. But this (warning) only increased him and the Muslims in Faith and they said: “Allah (Alone) is sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us)”. [Al-Bukhari].
3. O Ever Living, O Self-Subsisting and Supporter of all, by Your mercy I seek assistance, rectify for me all of my affairs and do not leave me to myself, even for the blink of an eye.’    [صحيح الترغيب والترهيب 1/273]
4.It was reported from Anas (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to say, when something upset him:
“Yaa Hayyu yaa Qayyoom, bi Rahmatika astagheeth (O Ever-Living One, O Everlasting One, by Your mercy I seek help).”
5. Allahumma inni a’oodhoo bika minal-hammi walhuzni, wal-’ajzi wal-kasali wal-bukhli wal-jubni, wa dal’id-dayni wa ghalabatir- rajaal
"O Allah! I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, weakness and laziness, miserliness and cowardice, the burden of debts and from being oppressed by men."
I hope it will be helpful. May Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala forgive us and guide us to the straight path.
Ameen

Where Charity and Love Abide
This sermon was given to the UU Church of Silver Spring via online worship on May 10, 2020.
Where is the Divine in all of this? If you’ve ever had sessions with a spiritual director, that may sound familiar. If you are a theist, they may ask you to reflect on where God’s presence seems nearby. If you are agnostic, they might get more creative, like where are you finding awe and wonder, where is a sense of reverence popping up in your life, when do you get a tingle that something sacred is happening?
One of the songs in our prelude this morning, Ubi Caritas, suggests that where charity and love abide, the Divine is there. I find that deeply comforting - I don’t know if I believe in God, but I do believe in kindness, and remembering the ways that people and other beings express love helps me to have faith that there is something holy moving through the world.
In times such as these, I am looking for every sign that I can. It is easy to get overwhelmed with world events and personal sources of sadness. Really, I wonder, where is the Divine in all of this? If there is a higher power, I don’t think it makes arrangements intentionally for our suffering, but maybe there is a power that can comfort and inspire us and move us to respond when humans hurt each other. Maybe it comes from humans ourselves acting our best and highest; or maybe it comes from the Source of Love, beyond our knowing. We need that kind of help right now. Where is it?
It may be that part of my problem is looking for the sacred in one, concrete place, as if it were a pair of scissors that keeps moving around the house. My mind is trained to seek things that I can see and touch and hold, and perhaps the holy is not a thing with a single location. Particularly in times such as these, when everything is changing quickly and our basic assumptions about how the world works are being upended, concrete predictability will not yield a force that brings comfort, inspiration, challenge to live our values, or a sense of connection with the universe. in times like these, perhaps what we seek can’t be found in one place. It’s not a commodity to be grasped. Not even signing up for the right workshops or collecting scented candles will allow us to possess it and tame it. What we seek is a spirit that moves.
Some of our Pagan friends celebrated Beltane not that long ago. One of the traditions of this holiday is to light fires. Some say that one aspect of the tradition is to put out all of the fires in the community, to light a new fire to be the Beltane fire, and re-light all of the hearths of the community from this new flame. In this way, the warmth and light of every household is connected to one source, to one flicker of renewal. Cattle are driven between festival fires in hopes for their continued health. Partners jump over the fires to renew relationships. Grains from the previous year are cast into the flames, symbolically purifying the stores of that which is stale. The fires of Beltane remind us that renewal happens in relationship. Our community is linked by shared renewal. Partnerships thrive in cooperative renewal. Our ability to thrive agriculturally is relational with the earth. And none of it is static. Instead, the spirit that moves dances like the flames, taking no final form. The Beltane fires are something to pass through or leap over or rekindle, but cannot be predicted or held in place.
Another story about fire is coming up for Christians at Pentecost, celebrated this year by Western Christians on May 31. As the story goes, Jesus’ friends had been coming to terms with his death and the possibility of his resurrection for over a month, meeting in small groups and figuring out what it meant to continue their movement without their leader. In some of the stories, the resurrected Jesus had appeared to them, and at the end of this time of regrouping, left them to return to heaven. It was again a season of pilgrimage in Jerusalem, and there were people from all around the known world crowding into the city.
As the story goes in the Book of Acts, the disciples were all gathered in one group when “tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability.” The fires of Pentecost are the fires of renewed mission. They could not continue witnessing and healing the way they had done; they had changed and the world had changed. Fire symbolized that they had to carry out their mission in a new way. They needed new language, new skills for communication, new technologies for finding connection. The shape and the outcome of their movement was not set at that point; they were traveling through a time of transformation. The flames of Pentecost gave them energy for change, but not certainty.
Though Unitarian Universalism grows from Christian roots, not all of us are close followers of Christian tradition. I don’t know if the story happened exactly this way, but I believe it’s true that a movement that witnesses for justice for the poor and accountability for the powerful, a movement that knows that state-sanctioned violence is a real possibility, a movement that seeks right relationship between people and with the holy -- that movement needs to be ready for change. Sometimes the times in which we live are fires to pass through, and our way of pursuing our mission must adapt. Outcomes are not assured. The shape of things to come is unclear. The spirit that moves can’t be held in our hands. Yet there are powers that inspire and challenge and draw people together.
In the story from the Book of Acts, people are in Jerusalem for the Jewish holiday of Shavuot. This is a holiday that is celebrated very differently now than during the second Temple period of first century Palestine. Nevertheless, it’s a day worth noticing, and it is also coming this month, on May 29. Shavuot is partly a harvest holiday, bookending the grain season that begins with Sukkot. By tradition, the Torah was given to the people on Shavuot, and the holiday has become an occasion to celebrate the Torah by staying up all night studying.
In the Book of Deuteronomy, we read that the first version of the Torah that God gave to Moses to share with the people did not last. Moses came down from Sinai, the mountain ablaze, and saw that the people had already strayed, and he smashed the first two tablets. God helped Moses create another set, Torah 2.0, and those were the tablets placed in the ark.
According to Jewish mystics, the first set of tablets were written with black fire on white fire. Perhaps the black fire represents judgment and the white fire represents mercy; or the black fire represents interpretation and the white fire -- what we might think of as blank space in graphic design -- represents possibility. Perhaps the fires represent what is written and what is hidden. Rabbi Michael Strassfeld suggests that the white fire is the world around us, that the sacred must always be understood in the context of life as we are living it -- holy words must be interpreted in relationship with the world as it is in the current time and place.
So, again, the spirit that moves cannot be pinned down. The Divine flickers and dances and resists concrete form, revealing and purifying and drawing people together in ways that adapt to the times in which we find ourselves.
My last sacred story is not so much about fire as it is about commitment. We are in the middle of the holy month of Ramadan. During this month, Muslims recall when the Prophet Muhammad, Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him, received the revelation of the Holy Quran. During this month, Muslims not only fast from food and drink during the day, but they are particularly careful to avoid lies, slander, gossip, false oaths, and greed or covetousness. According to one story, the Prophet Muhammad was in contemplation when he was visited by the Angel Gabriel, who commanded him to read. Muhammad replied that he was unable to read. Gabriel embraced him, and then commanded him to recite, which he did:
Read! in the name of your Lord who created Man from a clinging substance. Read: Your Lord is most Generous,– He who taught by the pen– Taught man that which he knew not.
So ends the reading. Not only am I moved by the commitment to charity and love that I observe in my loved ones who fast during Ramadan, I am reminded by this story that we move through times of uncertainty with abilities that we either didn’t know we had or that we pick up because we didn’t know we would need them before. Being committed to our values means we adapt. If it is our hope to be in the places where charity and love act, we change along with the spirit that moves. Charity and love are not static. They are always in motion, always part of a system of relationships.
This brings us back to wondering where the Divine might be in the midst of this pandemic. How is the spirit moving us through the fires of this time of transformation? We do not know how society will be different on the other side of this. We can try to shape that change. As we do that, let’s stay anchored to our values. How do we move with the spirit in which charity and love abide?
As I mentioned earlier, I feel that our commitment to honoring the interdependent web of existence and the inherent worth and dignity of every person means that it is incumbent upon us to recognize that the stresses of the pandemic fall most heavily on those who hold one or more marginalized identities. The decision to go to the store or wear a mask or exercise outdoors is more risky for some because of factors like racism, xenophobia, and ableism. My prayers are with the family of Ahmaud Arbery, who was murdered in February, and whose family had to endure being re-traumatized this week as his death gained publicity. May the trial of the two men were arrested for his murder proceed swiftly and with integrity. The inequitable effects of the pandemic don’t stop there. Wealthy people are invited to shelter at home, while meat packing workers are ordered into places of danger, being told by a Wisconsin state supreme court justice that their illnesses and deaths don’t count because they are not “regular folks.” Families of color -- especially Black families -- and families who are poor are sustaining heavier losses. In the United States, we mourn for over 76,000 people who have died of Covid-19, and we ache for leadership that will honor those who are left. We are faced with an urgent need to transform our society toward justice, equity, and compassion, now more than ever.
I know this congregation is full of compassionate people. You have been reaching out to one another through the contact tree and spontaneous calls and cards in the mail. You have responded with generosity to the Minister’s Discretionary Fund. You are capable of great kindness. The charity and love you express is part of something larger. Love goes out to individuals, and also to whole systems, where it takes on the name of justice. Your personal calling may be rooted in acts of individual compassion. We don’t all have to be full time activists. We do, if we are honest, need to remember the systems of oppression that make suffering worse. Let us remain committed to our deepest values.
This is a threshold time, an open doorway, a sacred fire for us to pass through or around or over. I do not wish for us a return to everything as it was before. The future is still unfolding. My hope is that we adapt, that we find our place in the dance with the spirit that moves, that we follow the rhythms of justice and compassion. So be it. Blessed be. Amen.

what are we doing here
and where are we gonna go?
it’s like we just woke up one morning
and then it’s welcome to the show
don’t ask any questions
just go with the flow
make as much money as you can
and try your best not to get broke
copy everything you see on the tv from the
hairstyles to the clothes and
don’t think too often
just do exactly as you’re told
and if you ever get confused then just turn towards the alcohol
you still hear your thoughts?
then just turn up the radio
as you, learn to live a lifestyle of
drugs
sex
and
rock n roll
but in all honesty
i just need to know
is there more to the cycle than
growing and getting old
living and dying just to
leave behind a happy home and a
whole lot of property that
somebody else is going to own
i just really need to know before the
caskets closed
cause i’m not
willing to gamble with my soul nor am i
ready to take any chances
these are just simple life questions and i’m just
searching for some answers
like what are we doing here
and what is our purpose
how did we get here and
who made us so perfect?
and what happens once we go or is this
world all really worth it
questions we don’t answer because
apparently, we don’t really have to
there’s no purpose to this life and our existence is merely natural?
then in that case please let me ask you
did you create yourself or was it somebody else who had fashioned you?
cause you’re a being that’s impeccable
faultless and unparalleled
you are a product of Supreme Intelligence and i’m
merely being rational
for there isn’t a camera on this earth that can come close to the human eye
nor a computer that can compete
alongside the human mind
and if the
whole world was to come together we wouldn’t be able to create a single fly
so many signs yet we
still deny
as science tries to justify that
all this could come from none
when it’s a simple sum
zero plus zero plus zero cannot possibly ever give you one
so from where did all this
order come?
for everything has its origins
a Maker, a Creator of its Own
i mean the only reason your watching this video is because somebody had to press upload
so we can believe in the Big Bang but I’d rather
believe in He who caused it
to explode
Allah
the Creator of everything along with every single soul
the Everliving, the Master the only One Who is in control
unlike His Creation, beyond our imagination
and no
He’s not a Man nor does He have any partners in association
He’s on His own
and no, He did not
ever leave us
alone
just like every manufacturer
He left us with an instruction manual
the Quran and Islam and i’m sorry to jump to conclusions but it’s the
only one possible
the Only definition of God as the One and Only
Supreme Being its
logical
a Book with
zero contradictions with
miracles that are both scientific
and historical
all revealed over
1400 years ago
like the detailed description of the
human embryo

“..the descriptions of the human embryo in the Quran cannot be based on scientific knowledge in the 7th century…”
to the mountains as pegs holding
firm the earth below
and the two seas that
don’t mix in a complete separate flow
to the planets in orbit
alternating night and day as they stay
in float
the expansion of the Universe and the Creation of everything
from H2O
to the stories of the past and the preservation of
Pharaoh
to identifying the lowest point in the land where
Persia defeated Rome
the gushing fluid that
created Man in the glands between the ribs and the
backbone and
not a word has changed it’s still the same so
please explain
how all this was known
over 1400 years
ago?
to a Man, who couldn’t
read or write as he would
recite whatever the Angels spoke
and if you still don’t believe, please try
to come up with something that’s
even close
but you can’t
so we took God as a mockery and His
Messengers as a joke
…Voice-over…
“…Muhammad could not read or write..how somebody who can’t read or write gostart a religion..”
dismissed his scriptures as legends and
tales of the ancient folk
as we
live life according to our
whims, desires and hopes
saying this life is the
only home we will
ever know
we will live then die then simply turn to bones
YO..LO
correction
after the grass dies, the rain arrives and it
re-grows
and Allah promises to do the same thing to your
very soul
and bring you back from your
very fingertips to your toes
as the All Seeing Supreme Being watches us so close
and we are surely being tested
in our wealth, our health and our self and
everything that we’ve been blessed with
so believe for we will
surely, be resurrected
and be brought back to our Lord in account for
every single deed as He
hands us our books and
orders us to “Read!”
from the bad to the good
and everything in between
you, yourself are sufficient for your
own accountability so
don’t be mad at Me
You Were The One Who Thought He Wouldn’t Come Back To Me
i gave you a whole life long to
search after Me
but you were busy and all that which was
temporary so
Read
and glad tidings to all those who believed and if you
disbelieve
Read
and don’t let that day be the first day you find out what your
life really means
“Did you think that we had created you in play, and that you would not be brought back to us?”

PRAISE BE TO ALLAH.
Who is Allah Subhan'watala.!
-In Surah e bakarah verse 255 Allahﷻ says:
Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.
Then Allahﷻ says in Surah e rum Verse 40.
Allah is the one who created you then provided for, then will cause you to die, and then will give you life.
Surah e hashr verse 22-24
He is Allah , other than whom there is no deity, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed. He is the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
He is Allah , other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Perfection, the Bestower of Faith, the Overseer, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Superior. Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him.
He is Allah , the Creator, the Inventor, the Fashioner; to Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth is exalting Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
“This is the brief introduction of Allahﷻ. Although this is not enough ik.”
-ATTRIBUTES OF ALLĀH SUBHAN'WATALA.

Remember that, HEﷻ is الجبار.
The compeller, the restorer.

When you feel burden of sins in your heart,
Remember that, HEﷻ is الرحمن
The beneficent.
When you feel stuck in any kinda problem,
Remember that, HEﷻ is القھار
The ever dominent.
When you feel lonely, and there is nobody for you,
Remember that, HEﷻ is المھیمن
|The guardian.l
When you feel like there is nou hope, everything seems impossible,
Remember that, HEﷻ is الفتاح
The opener.
When you feel restless,

“These are some names of Allah Subhan'watala, and see how amazing is our Allah Subhan'watala
We don't need anybody if we have Allah HEﷻ is the best. Alhamdulillah.”
—How Allah Subhan'watala deals with us.
Allah Subhan'watala says in surah e bakarah verse 186:
And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided.
When the hardships comes to you read this ayah Allah Subhan'watala is talking to you.↓
Surah e bakarah verse 214
Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while such [trial] has not yet come to you as came to those who passed on before you? They were touched by poverty and hardship and were shaken until [even their] messenger and those who believed with him said,"When is the help of Allahﷻ?" Unquestionably, the help of Allahﷻ is near.
-Say Alhamdulillah, We are blessed.-
•^Look around the world and think deeply.
Look inside yourself you will get to know how amazing is Allah Subhan'watala. Just research about your DNA you will be amazed.
Allah Subhan'watala told us each and every thing but still we don't try to know, we are much fortunate than others, who are entangled in their own lord's, those who don't know which god to follow, which book to recite, they are in struggle. Here we are, we know who is Allahﷻ nou Muslim has doubt on it, we know Quran is our book, nou Muslim has doubt on it. We are blessed each and every thing Allāh Subhan'watala provided us. All we have to do is seek knowledge.
Just think about the day of judgement when Allāh Subhan'watala will ask you why didn't you open Quran, why didn't you offer Salah even I called you 5 times a day, why don't you seek help from me when I told you I am nearer.
Allah says remember me I will remember you.
If you don't remember me, I will still remember you.
Because HEﷻ loves you HEﷻ don't want you to throw in a hell fire, HEﷻ feels shame when you ask him for something and HEﷻ can't give you at that moment because of your goodness. What kinda soul you want to give Allah tala, which you destroyed.?
Allah Subhan'watala gave you amanah and you didn't care of that. Remember what is going to happen after death.
Remember death when this worldly life annoys you. Remember that you don't belong to here, you Belong to Allah Subhan'watala.
How great is our Allahﷻ, how much HEﷻ loves us but still we are lost.
Say Astagfirullah on your sinfull life and start following the QURAN and SUNNAH.
Life is too short. Every second you are going to near your death.
May Allah ﷻ guide us all & grant us steadfastness until we meet our Lord, Allah ﷻ.
BarakAllah feekum♡
•Remember each and everyone in your prayers•

Significance and Importance of Al Quran!
HomeQuran
Introduction
What if there existed no Quran? What if people would never read the Quran anymore? What if all of the copies of the Quran were wiped off?
You will get to know what happens, but first things first, subscribe to my mailing list now!
Significance and Importance of Al- Quran: Why is it so much important?
1. From Quran itself: Allah SWT is the sole commander of the whole Universe (Got any doubt on that? Put that right on the comments box, I assure you of making you satisfied). As the Supreme, He knows what is important for us and what isn’t. From that perspective, we can say that the things Allah described as important for us are important. HE says the followings on Quran >>>
2. From the Hadith: Hazrat Muhammad (Sm.) is the best ever human being to ever live on the face of the earth (Again, any doubts? Check out why Michael H.Harts put Muhammad on top of his “The 100”). As an ardent follower of him, I can say right away that he doesn’t tell you spammy things. In fact, consider this Hadith: “Whenever the Prophet (PBUH) was given the choice of two things, he would choose the easier one out of love for the Ummah!”. Such a person would never tell you to recite the Quran on a daily basis, even with stammering, without a valid reason. Here are some Hadiths to back me up >>>
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, “You will not come back to Allah with anything better than that which came from Him, i.e. the Qur’an.” Source: Mastadrik al-Hakim no. 2077 — [Sahih]
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said Allah [SWT] said, “I have sent you [O Prophet] in order to put you to test and put those to test through you. And I sent the Book to you which cannot be washed away by water, so that you may recite it while in the state of wakefulness and sleep. Source: Hadith Qudsi, Muslim no. 2865a — [Sahih]
Now that we have completed our basic proof from the perspective of Islamic Shariah why the Quran is important, let us dive into a more a sophisticated version of it, as Allah ordered us to think and derive the lesson (knowledge) (Where did He say that?! Oh, I forgot, you need clarity always, then just give a click here! No spam, just a clarification).
Reasons (with proof) why we need the Quran for our existence!
1. Quran delays Qiyamat: Today, the most read book in the whole world is the Quran. Now that doesn’t make it the most important one, or does that? We know that one of the signs of Qiyamat is that there will be none left to recite the holy Quran anymore as told in the Hadith as “Something will come and take the Qur’an one night and not one aayah will be left, either in the Mus-haf or in the heart of any person, but it will be taken away” . But there’s more to it. I told earlier in this post that what if the Quran was to be made clean? That is, if the Quran’s letters are gone, what will happen? Nothing much other than Qiyamat. May Allah protect us from such an occurrence to be seen. So, the most important reason why the Quran is significant and important is that it is immensely important for our existence, for the safeguarding of the Earth.
2. Quran proves Islam: Basically, the Quran is the only source of Islam that is out of any sort of corruption. As a result, people can believe in whatever has been written there with sole belief. They need not fear any negative outcome. Now when you face any difficulty in proving Islam or existence of Allah, any knowledgeable Muslim can surely cite the Scientific, Historical, Medical, Astronomical, Navigational, etc. miracles of the Quran and thus put this bottom line — Who could have guessed this 1400 years ago, other than the Lord Himself? Seriously, if you bring the Biblical concept or Greek concept that Muhammad (Sm.) might have copied from them, you are just being nonsensical. Taking 1 right thing out of 1000 guesses isn’t also a human task, and that too, for 6236 times (You know that the Quran has 6236 ayats).
3. Quran is a tool to fight: Allah says in the Holy Quran,
“So do not obey the disbelievers, and strive against them with the Qur’an a great striving.”
It is not that the Quran only is a book of prediction about the future which came true, rather, there are many things in the Quran that haven’t been yet invented, or we may say, discovered. I am not talking about Heaven/Hell, Jinns or Angels. We can dedicate ourselves in learning the Quranic approach to matters like Soul, Astronomy or Oceanic Creatures which are yet out of the grasp of modern science. We can strike the Kuffars with this tool to fight against them, remember, I am not talking about discouraging the armed Jihad, in fact, I have detailed discussion about them here, here and here. What I am saying is that we can change our thinking too and engage in fighting against the Kuffars with the help of the Quran as it is the best thing we have.
4. Quran secures the Hereafter: There are various verses in the Quran and various Hadiths talking about the virtues of reciting the Quran. But I will only present one Hadith, which is >>>
“Read the Qur’an, for it will come on the Day of Resurrection interceding for its companions.”
The best thing about the Quran is that it can never be proven wrong. Many tried to do it, and failed. Dr. Maurice Bukaille isn’t the only example, though he is one of the favorites. Quran is such a gift for the Humanity from Allah Himself that we can’t even imagine. If you want to succeed both here and the hereafter, READ! Read the Quran more than anyone else, Love the Quran more than anyone else, Respect the Quran more than anyone else.

https://www.youtube.com
what are we doing here and where we going to go?
its like we just woke up one morning and then its welcome to the show.
dont ask any questions just go with the flow.
make as much money as you can and try your best not to get broke.
copy everything you see on the tv from the hairstyles to the clothes
and dont think too often just do exactly as your told.
you ever get confused then turn towards the alcohol.
you still hear your thouhgts?
then just turn up the radio as you learn to live a lifestyle of drugs,
sex and rock n' roll.
but in all honesty, i just need to know,
is there more to the cycle than growing and getting older.
living and dying just to leave behind happy home.
and a whole lot of property that someday else is going to own.
i just really need to know before the caskets closed.
cause i'm not willing to gamble with my soul, nor am i ready to take any chances
these are just simple life questions and i'm just searching for some answers
like what are we doing here and what is our purpose
how did we get here and who made us so perfect?
and what happens once we go or is this world all really worth it.
questions we dont answer because apparently we dont really have to.
theres no purpose to this life and our existence merely natural?
in that case please let me ask you.
did you create yourself or was it somebody else who had fashioned you?
because you're being that's impeccable faultless and unparalleled.
you are a product of supreme intelligence and i'm merely being rational.
for there isn't camera on this earth that can come close to the human eye
nor a computer that can compete alongside the human mind.
and if the whole world was to come together, we wouldnt be able to create a single fly
so many signs yet we still deny.
as science tries to justify that all this could come from none
when it's simple sum, zero plus zero cannot possibly ever give you one.
so from where did all this order come?
for everything has its origins a maker a creator of its own.
i mean the only reason your watching this video is because somebody had to press upload
so you can believe in the Big Bang but i'd rather believe in He who caused it to explode
Allah, The creator of the everything along with every single soul
The Everliving, The Master, the only one who is in control
unlike this creation beyond our imagination and NO,
He's not a man nor has be any partners in association,
He's on his own.
and neither did He ever leave us alone
just like any manufacture he left us with an instruction manual
The Quran and islam and i'm sorry to jump to conclusions but it's the only one possible
the only definition of God as the one and Only, supreme being its logical
a book with zero contradictions with miracles that are both scientific and historical
all revealed over 1400 years ago
like the detailed description of the human embryo
to the mountains as pegs holding firm the earth below
and the two seas that dont mix in a complete separate flow
to the planets in orbit alternating night and day as they stay in float
the expansion of the universe and the creation of everything from H2O
to the stories of the past and the preservation of Firaun
to identify the lowest point in the land where Persian defeated Rome
the gushing fluid that created man in the gland between the ribs and the backbone
and not a world has changed its still the same
so please explain how all this was known over 1400 years ago
to a man who couldnt read or write, as he would recite what ever the angle spoke
and you still dont believe please try come up with something thats even close
but you cant.
so we took God as mockery and his Messengers as a joke
dismissed his scriptures as legends and tales of the ancient folk
as we life according to our whims, desires and hopes
saying this life is the only home we will ever know
we will live then die and simply turn to bones
YOLO
correction: after the grass dies the rain arrives it re-grows
and Allah promises to do the same thing to your every soul
and bring you back from your very fingertips to your toes
as the all Seeing Supreme Being watches us so close as we are surely being tested
in our wealth, our health, our self and everything that we've been blessed with
so believe for we will surely be resurrected
and be brought back to Lord in account for every single deed
as he hands us our books and order us to "READ"
from the bad to the good and everything in between
you, yourself are sufficient for you own accountability
so dont be mad at me,
YOU WERE THE ONE WHO THOUGHT HE WOULDNT COME BACK TO ME
i gave you a whole life long to search after me
but you were so busy chasing all that which was temporary
so read
and glad tidings to all those who believed.
but if you disbelieve, READ
and dont let that day be the first day you
find out what your life really means

I'm an atheist, so I do not know the Koran.😃 I found information, but it has two different options: Muslims can be in a relationship for many years, while another website says: muslims must not in any way be involved with the opposite sex, but only in marriage? This is confusing!😃😐 2
Hey, you can learn about each religion, culture, nationality .. no matter what you are 😊 uh, how to explain it the best .. I'm not Muslim too, but as I goooht, well it's similar like in other nations, cultures, religions .. male & female should not interact too close or live in a "wild" relationship, they should at least have a serious relationship, be engaged, marry soon .. in many Islamic countries they live by Sharia law and it depends on how conservative (it's not same in Tunisia as in Saudi Arabia) I've seen many Muslim's out of north African or gulf countries going out, socializing, having a relationship (engagement/marriage coming soon) but usually they don't live / share their bed with each other, the rest is harmless especially when others join cinema nights, going to eat, .. too or work colleagues 😊 on the other side it's more strict in some Muslim countries, that's why males - females are divided oftentimes in school, university, workplace, mosque, .. even at home when a non relative visits for example, male relatives such as father, brother, cousin, uncle, .. are okay. As for marriage, I heard there exists a commitment like here one by law, the other religious (as registry & church marriage) someone told me about marriage with 2 witnesses & bride/groom reciting verses from Quran (similar with western world), Niqah too etc. I have to research again due to that one loophole thing I was told isn't much of a commitment in my opinion bc it's easier to split for a couple, and I haven't ever though enough about that bc that's sth wishy-washy I could never think about, like "hey, let's have a relationship but if sth doesn't work out, byebye" or not legal kind of at all. All or nothing 😉 research what's haram or halal between men/women & maybe someone can explain it better, I sound slowly like blabbering lol

Why I left Islam?
First, let me introduce myself. I was born into a muslim family, like so many others.  So obviously I was a muslim since birth.  As soon as I was born, indoctrination began, shaping a cult into a child’s vulnerable mind.  My name was decided by a priest.(It is considered auspicious). The first thing I heard with my tender ears is “Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar” (God is great, God is Great), which I would repeat in my life so many times.  Then they circumcised my precious little thing (it hurts a lot) by saying “bismillah hir rahman nir raheem” - “In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful”. (Not for medical reasons, but for religious rites). How can cutting a babies foreskin be considered merciful? If Allah wanted all us circumcised, why didn’t he create us like that? Circumcision  is a must to be a muslim, as it is also required in other abrahamic faiths. If you get scared of circumcision you will not be accepted as a muslim, as it’s a must for every Muslim male. So before thinking of getting converted to a muslim, you must get rid of Aichmophobia. Then on the seventh day after my birth, to thank allah for blessing them with a son, they performed aqeeqah. (Sacrifice that is offered on behalf of the newborn on the seventh day after birth.). They sacrificed two sheep (for a girl it is one sheep, one boy = two girls, and they talk about gender equality). Their throats were cut by reciting  "bismillah hir rahman nir raheem" - “In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful”. (Where is the mercy for the sheep here?).  As an infant I did not have the liberty of taking any decisions, all the thinking part was taken care by my dear father (mothers don’t have a say, they are of no value). I was repeatedly asked to say “bismillah hir rahman nir raheem” before doing anything. I got used to it over a period of time. Before doing anything, I used to say “bismillah hir rahman nir raheem”. My mom started training me about the ethics of islam at home. Thankfully I was put into a school for my worldly education. But in the evenings I had to go to a madrasa in a nearby mosque. In the madrasa I was told that Mohammed is the most perfect man ever in the history of the Universe. Infallible. He never committed any bad act. After Allah, Mohammed is the most benevolent person. I was told that Mohammed always forgave his opponents, he was a forgiving and tolerant man. I was told that Mohammed respected women the most and Islam was a religion that honoured women. In a nutshell , to Muslims Mohammed is a saviour of this mankind.(peace be upon him)  I was always told to do namaz without ever missing it, five times a day. I was also told to recite quran in arabic everyday without fail. I was told about satan. How he leads us to the wrong path. How dreadful satan is. I was told that if I miss namaz, i would be sent to hell. Which is what every child would be threatened with, eternal hellfire (lol, Allah is the most merciful). Then there were stories about how satan takes control of you, when you miss your namaz.  I was told about the omnipresence of Allah. (I used to wonder, if god is one, how the hell is he present everywhere). This used to confuse me.  I was also told about heaven, jannah. I was told that I would be taken to heaven when I have completed all my duties which Allah has ordered. I was told that heaven is the most beautiful place to be in. I was told about rivers of honey, streams of milk. (Sadly there was no mention about chocolate rivers, I love chocolates). I was also told that, Allah is always watching you. He will punish you for whatever wrong you do and reward you for the good things, so we must also try to please Allah and stay away from sin.  I was also told about two angels called Raqib and Atid, one angel always sits on the right shoulder and records all good deeds, while another sits on the left shoulder and records all bad deeds. ( I used to wonder when Allah knows everything we do, why was there a need to have these two extra guys. No wonder we have the so called population explosion.  I used to hear stories from my friends about ghosts. Like one of my friends always used to tell us a lot of stories about ghosts. His father was a truck driver. He always used to tell us about his father’s encounters with the ghosts. Listening all this, we used to get terrified. All this made me  phasmophobic. I was not able to sleep properly at night. I knew a ghost will come from nowhere and eat me up or do some terrifying thing to me. I believed more easily in the existence of ghosts as Allah himself had created satan. Whatever my friend used to tell me, i used to blindly believe in it. Just imagine my plight those days. I could never sleep alone. I could never go to a room which had no light. Nights were terrible to me during those times. I was never able to come out of that fear for a long time. As I grew I learnt more about islam. I learnt about the 72 hoors (Female maidens of paradise) which we would be getting for being obedient to God. The Shaheed (Martyr - who dies for the cause of islam) is one of the people who will straight go to the Jannah (Heaven) and get those 72 hurs. (Wonder if he gets time for prayers with so many hurs). No wonder why so many suicide bombers are working for Allah’s cause. They don’t even have to wait for the day of judgment.
Then , luckily science happened.
Thankfully science was there to my rescue when religion never answered my questions and confused me.  In school , when I was in 8th standard I read about Miller-Urey experiment about the origin of life.  Then read about Darwin and Gregor Mendel and their work. I got fascinated with the idea of evolution. Started reading articles which supported evolution. 1.The universal genetic code  2.The fossil record.  3. Genetic commonalities 4. Common traits in embryos 5. Bacterial resistance to antibiotics All these things contradicted the Quran, Adam and hawwa (Eve) and the claim Allah created us. I was confused.
When I tried confronting my islamic teacher at the madrasa with these valid points, he was unable to answer. He would instead reprimand me for questioning Allah’s existence. The best answer he used to give when he had no answer is “Allah knows better.”. The typical answer from clerics who know nothing.
I really started doubting God. Whenever we call for him he is never there? The most merciful is not at all merciful when you see natural disasters. Where is he when tsunamis and earthquakes claim thousands of innocent lives?  The most merciful is the most merciless towards animals of sacrifices, which is celebrated as eid al adha  He never tried to prove himself, just left an old book and plenty of doubt, despite the fact Allah is all powerful and easily could clinch his existence if he revealed himself.  He made animals and let them have other smaller animals as their food. He made sex a sin. (But on the contrary he lures the martyrs with 72 virgins in heaven). Hypocritical in the least.  Is never able to make sun rise from the opposite direction even for once, just to prove his presence.
For all these questions i was reprimanded and punished and was told that Satan is misguiding me. (Allah knows best. lol). Instead of them accepting these doubts came from my rational mind , not some malevolent demon.
Finally, I had enough of all that crap. And what a transformation in myself after I stopped believing in all that crap. There was no fear of ghosts as there are none. There was no fear of Satan. No fear of the most powerful Allah. No fear of Hell. (Though I will miss the 72 virgins of heaven). No fear of death, death is the end of it all. After death i’m nothing same as before my birth. That was a good realisation . There is no hell.
Now I just enjoy my life. Enjoy it to the full. As I should.  I look at the open skies, the sun, the moon and the stars. I’m a free bird now, free from the bondage. I have left islam, the kingdom of slaves.

REVERT Series: Sister Keyla-After Surviving a Traumatic Past as a Child, Struggled with Faith & Identity, Allah Brought Her to Islam
Asalamu Alaikum,
My name is Keyla, I am a twenty-five year old American-Latina woman, and this is my conversion story.
I grew up in Long Island, New York where there are not very many Muslims. If there are, they have completely assimilated into the western culture.
The only reference I ever heard about Muslims was when the 9/11 attacks happened. I remember being sent home from elementary school. I had no idea what the fuss was about, and I've never heard of the Twin Towers.
I just knew something big was happening in the world.
Those attacks made the Western world fear terrorist, which they associated only with Muslims and Islam. I may have not been educated enough to understand what was going on in politics, but I did understand that no religion promoted hatred.
“A bad person, is a bad person”.
Religion in my family was never enforced. My parents believed in the Bible, and they were raised with Roman Catholic beliefs, but we never really attended church.
We celebrated Christmas, which was more about who got the best gifts from the 'Big Guy'.
Since baptism and the first communion was important in my culture, I had to participate. And everyone in my family would've asked why we didn't do it, if we didn't. We were going through the motions, and never for religious reasons.
Growing up as a teen, I struggled with faith and identity. I wasn’t a terrible kid, but I never really had a good relationship with my mother, which affected me as a person. But that’s another story in itself.
At the age of eight, I experienced something no child ever should.
I was sexually abused by a close relative. Then after, my voice was silenced by the parent - who was my baby sitter - of my rapist. My complaints were swept under the rug.
The only person I confided with was my sister, because she was also sexually abused. These types of situations are prevalent, hidden and are never discussed within my culture. There are many girls who fall through the crack, simply because no one knew, and no one listened.
After my abuse, I acted out. I was hurt. Angry. I needed a way to heal. But I was not the 'terrible' child my family labeled me as.
I was troubled. In pain. Suffering.
I cut class, smoked cigarettes, lashed out in anger, ran away, and disobeyed my parents. It took me a while to find solace. Forgiveness. That what happened to me was not my fault.
I know now those weren’t the best ways to handle pain. But through those lash outs, I still managed to get good grades and be the first person in my family to graduate High School.
Consequently, I found myself wandering into a church when I ran away from home. But I never felt complete. Something was still missing inside. I didn’t feel that genuine connection with God.
Part of it had to do with the uncomfortable feelings I got from the stares people gave me.
They would size me up and down, check out how I was dressed. And if you were five minutes late, even when you were quiet coming in, those people would turn around like it was the end of the world. Their eyes were always judging you.
I started having doubts toward Catholicism because there were many different interpretations of the Holy Bible, and each one claimed to be the 'correct' version. I did not want my life to be guided through someone else’s interpretations that has been translated to manipulate thoughts, not facts.
Why was I worshipping an object? A cross for that matter? These idols believed to be Jesus, peace and blessing be upon him.
When I prayed, I didn’t actually know any Catholic verses, I just spoke to God, as if He was in front of me, sub han Allah.
Whenever I was in prayer, I did not pray to Jesus as God. In my heart, I believed Jesus was not and could not be the 'son of God,' but was a prophet - such as Abraham and Moses, peace and blessings be upon them.
Sub han Allah, I was Muslim without even knowing it!
My early twenties was unfavorable. I partied too hard, and drank too much with no worries. Though it was a type of release from my stress, I wasn’t happy inside. I searched for love in unhealthy situations, and made irrational decisions.
I was consumed by depression, and sunk into the sad reality of my emotions. Nothing in my life was going the way I wanted it to go, and I was lost. The same eight year old 'self' I thought was gone, came back.
My sister told me to look for help. She urged me to go to church or speak to a counselor. I told her I never received any benefit from going to church, and decided to look elsewhere for guidance.
I knew the life I was living was disruptive to my future.
I met a man from Yemen later, and we became very good friends. We got along and dated for a little while, but we had a 'falling out,' so we broke it off.
One day I found myself lost and locked up in my room. While I was in there, I suddenly received a text from the Yemeni brother, asking me if I was okay, and if he could talk to me. He called me after a few minutes later.
From my tone of my voice, he knew I needed help. I told him I was searching for something. Before I could finish my sentence, he stopped me and said "I am going to send you a book. I want you to read it in it’s entirety, and I promise you will feel so much better." It was the best gift I received in my life.
The Qur'an.
I didn’t know what I was going to find in it, but in my heart I felt this is what I always needed. I started watching lectures on the internet from different scholars. I happened to stumble on and watched an animated movie of our beloved Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessing be upon him.
Tears were flowing from my eyes. There was never more clarity than in what I learned within the pages of the Qur'an. I even read everything I grew up learning in Cathacism!
It was as if my soul was enlightened.
I took my Shahada in the summer of 2014, and alhamdulillah. Allah guides who he wills, because the person who helped me recite my shahada is the person I am married to today - the brother from Yemen.
After more research, I learned that there is one interpretation of the Quran left that existed - la ilaha illa Allah; Muhammadur Rasul Allah! - which strengthens my belief in Islam even more.
Sub han allah, the doors of clarity were opening for me. I was able to memorize Surat Al-Faatiha in Arabic just a month after my conversion. I was excited to have accepted Islam.
Coming out to my family in the summer of 2014 about my conversion was not as bad as I thought.
I eased them into it slowly, and didn’t want them to think this was just another phase in my life. They were all happy that I finally found something that will straighten me out, and give me a sense of guidance that I couldn’t really get from my parents.
The biggest give away that I became Muslim was when they fed me pork, and I didn’t know. I immediately ran to the bathroom and started washing my mouth out profusely!
The second sign of my reversion, was turning down alcoholic drinks from my family - Dominicans are known to be huge partiers and drinkers! My wardrobe was another obvious 'tell.'
I took Islamic courses in college, which covered politics and geography. It wasn’t until the middle of class semester that I told myself I wanted to observe the hijab outside my prayers. But I was afraid of what people may say.
It was my sister who convinced me that it was going to be okay, reassuring me that this is for my self, not for anyone else. So the next day I wore my hijab, and became late for class.
It felt like church again with those stares! Awkwardly, I felt my classmates  thought I was a new girl, until the professor pointed me out! What's more, alhamdulliah I met other Muslims in that class.
It was a blessing from Allah!
Two years later, I decided to get married for love - to my Yemeni friend, and now my husband. Although, culturally it is hard for us to be accepted in his family, we are still managing to live only by our deen.
He is truly amazing. He met me at my worst, and he helped through my healing process. I met his sisters and they welcomed me into the family.
They showed me how to put the hijab on the correct way, and started wearing formal abayas every day. I finally have a chance to build a family I always wanted to grow up with - with the love, peace, and strong values Islam teaches.
I’m not going to say everything has been all 'daisies.' Of course, with all the wars going on I have faced my own share of discrimination from ignorant people, especially within the workplace.
I know it’s all a test, and “sabr” [patience] is what I need most to move forward with our future.
Furthermore, the knowledge that my life is within Allah's will, washes all of my worries away.
Asalam alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatu.

The Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam once mentioned to Faatimah radiyallaahu ‘anha to recite the following supplication morning and evening: Yaa Hayyu yaa qayyoom bi-rahmatika astagheeth, aslih lee shaa-nee kullahu, wa laa takilnee ilaa nafsee tarfata ‘ayn – O Ever-Living One, O Self-Existing One, I seek assistance through the means of your mercy, correct for me all my affairs and do not entrust me to my nafs (myself) for the moment of a blink of an eye [An-Nasa’i] If Al-Hayy would even leave you to yourself for a split-second, you would perish!

Make our life a source of good and give us a good end of life, inspire us to turn to You only and grant to us eternal life in the Gardens of Jannatul Firdaws, ameen!
