i'll genuinely never stop thinking about codependency in rhack and how it's mostly coming from jack's side. both jack and rhys treat their relationship like rhys is the one who needs jack to not just survive but also thrive, but it's really the opposite and i think that REALLY adds to how much jack twists the narrative to make it seem like rhys can't do anything without him just to keep giving rhys a reason to keep him around and trust him

#plus the irony of it all #being someones obsession and then becoming so dependent on that someone to the point of YOU becoming obsessed with THEM #i just love it #yeah im rambling about rhack again #every once in a while i get reminded of what makes them so damn interesting and i turn into a sucker #their dynamic is just soooo good and theres so much stuff to look into and dissect #and like there are moments in the game where jack does mention that he needs rhys alive to survive himself outloud #but its always when rhys is actively in danger #other than that its 'ill have your back' and 'ill get you whatever you want'#but honestly rhys does a pretty good job of keeping himself alive #and he does have fiona and co with him too who (as much as jack doesnt wanna believe it) have rhys' back too #i just think jack trying to isolate rhys from them to reel him in is so interesting and fucked up and i love it sm #and of course i cant make a rhack ramble post without mentioning the murder-suicide thing HAKGHD someone has to keep talking abt that #bc thats really the moment that cemented to me how personal jacks feelings towards rhys were #where jack reaches the point of rather wanting to die than let rhys walk away from him alive #I JUST GJKHKDJG not even in a romantic way. jack just needs rhys painfully much #it just gets 10 times spicier when you slap some romance in there too #rhack #txt #this is just a long winded way of saying jack is really clingy in a very ugly and fucked up way #and i love that abt him <3 genuinely it might be my favorite part of his character

But ! The Watchers i write are inspired by Catholicism, his mum is a nun who veils. This is also just for women, but if he wereeee to veil then it'd be something like that--i mean not the full extent of a nun, but there are head scarves that allow hair and neck to be shown

seeing people's takes about the whole watcher situation is just a bit.... mind-boggling.

i think the apology they posted was good in the sense that they admitted to fucking up and walked back on their decision, and i think the model they've settled on now is a lot more reasonable (having content be released earlier for those who choose to subscribe), but like.... that doesn't mean that no one should've ever been mad at them in the first place???

like seriously, why does it seem like people are looking at a "good" apology and thinking "huh! they sure did apologize well! i guess that means that it was ridiculous for people to be mad in the first place! no one should have ever complained!!". if no one complained, they wouldnt have walked back their decision! they would've kept going with their dumb completely paywalled option!

and thats not even getting into the fact that their financial woes seem to come from completely mismanaging their money - hiring people when they can not afford to and spending more money on "high quality productions" when they cant afford to.... these are core issues that im not sure will be completely fixed by this? but idk.

also, this situation i think has really helped my own self come to terms with the fact that i do not enjoy many aspects of their content. i sorta already knew that considering i can not remember the last ghost files video i watched because i find that shit incredibly boring and overproduced, and even things like too many spirits have become a chore to watch bc they decided to extend the Not That Funny drink making portion when i just wanna hear some funny spooky stories.

anyway i guess my ultimate point here is: im glad they acknowledged they fucked up, but i also am not sure how interested i am in their content anymore in the first place. oh well

quite pleasantly surprised by wicked movie but i Will say we were robbed of elphaba leaning in close to glinda saying “come with me to the emerald city” followed by glinda’s “i’ve always wanted to see the emerald city” while looking deep into her eyes arms around her shoulders twirling elphaba’s hair

#not sure if this was unique to the last time i saw wicked but either way. shoutout to those two leads fr 😘✌🏻 <- that’s me kissing #two fingers and holding them out btw #personal #other notes:#- fiyero looked too old sorry but he did perform pretty well #- still unreasonably annoyed by ariana’s eyebrows being so pale and blending into her skin under certain lightings esp when they gave her #giant black lashes like at least be consistent 💀#- otherwise pretty pleasantly surprised by her performance there were still moments esp when she laughed where i was like this is too #‘ariana’ and not ‘glinda’ enough but for the most part she did wayyy better than i had anticipated #- the instrumentation to vocal balancing was weird throughout but i’m not sure if that came down mostly to it being in theatre vs on a home #tv ik it can depend on how they designed it #- was not a fan of nessa or madame morrible the way both of them sang and even how madame morrible spoke sometimes came off very stilted to #me i did like nessa’s spoken delivery tho #- not sure how but i had no clue abt the kristen/idina cameo ahjdf the way my mom #grandma and me all gasped #- cynthia did well i wasn’t concerned abt her initially but then saw the way they were marketing with her and got a little worried bc it #wasn’t very ‘elphaba’ but she portrayed her personality great #- they paced defying gravity weird i wasn’t super fond of the end. the bit where she’s falling and facing her younger self i was like okay #this is a cool change actually but then they interrupted in the middle again after that and suddenly cut to the ‘nobody in all of oz’ bit #and i went mmmm don’t like that #- liked the effects!#- wasn’t overly fond of jeff goldblum as the wizard but i suppose there is time to change my opinion there with act ii #- enjoyed what is this feeling flipping btwn so many settings to show how much they were clashing in every respect #- costumes!!#- was slightly bothered by autotune first half and then im not sure if they cut back on it or if i just got used to it #- probably more stuff that i might add later but can’t think of rn. overall nice experience don’t plan on rewatching anytime soon but still #intend to see part 2 #wicked 2024 spoilers #<- for the cameo mention mainly
