Did they actually make the kid in Detroit become human be an android. I feel like that destroys a major point of the story.

Take My Stress Away
Tumblr media
Summary: Jay hasn't spoken to you for a week and you feel you have lost your brother again. After a bad day at work, you find someone waiting by your car.
Warnings: fluffiness, poorly written medical scenes because I have no idea what they are saying in the show 🤣, angry-ish Jay, brief implied SA (not descriptive), proofread but there's always a mistake after posting 🤣
Word count: 3532
Fandom: Chicago P.D
Pairing: Hank Voight x halstead!reader
“I don’t know what to tell you, kid,” Herrmann said, pouring you a drink.
You scoffed, “I thought you were my friend, Hermie” you took a sip of your drink and shook your head, “You could have warned me,”
Jay was completely pissed. He stormed out of the room, without looking at you. You followed him, begging him to listen. He didn’t. You did not want this mistake to ruin your relationship with your brother.
Was it a mistake?
Of course it was, nothing is worth losing your family over.
But it was so good.
It’s not like you did it on purpose. In your defence, he said his name was Henry. Maybe you should have connected the dots, but you had two double vodkas and had just done a 12 hour shift. The only thing your brain was able to process was the hot guy sitting at the end of the bar.
Herrmann sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "I didn't think (y/n)," he said, meeting her gaze with a look that was part apology, part caution. "You seemed to like the guy. Besides, I didn’t think he was the one night stand type… or any type really."
“He wasn’t anything like Jay described,” you muttered, swirling the drink in your glass absentmindedly. Herrmann watched you closely, seeing the confusion and frustration flicker across your face. "Jay made him sound like some cold, heartless guy. But Henry... Hank,” you corrected with a sigh, “He was different. Charming, even. He made me laugh. For the first time in a long time,”
“Hey!” Herrmann exclaimed, his brows shooting up in mock offense. He placed a hand dramatically over his heart, as if you deeply wounded him, and gestured to himself with the other hand, “I make you laugh,”
You couldn't help but chuckle at his theatrics. You shook your head, still smiling, and said, "You know what I mean."
Herrmann leaned forward, resting his hands on the bar. "Give Jay some time. He'll come around. You didn't do anything wrong,”
“I don’t want to lose him over this,” you said, your voice quivering slightly. You bit your lower lip, a nervous habit you’d developed over the years, and looked down at your hands, which were tightly clasped around her glass, “I already lost 28 years,”
 “You won’t,” he said, softly, placing a hand on your wrist, “families fight, they make up,”
"Thanks, Hermie,” you said, standing up from your barstool. “I have a shift tomorrow,” you added, grabbing your jacket from the back of the stool. You took the cash from your pocket and placed it on the bar for the drink.
Herrmann took the cash and put it in the register. “See you tomorrow, (Y/N),” he said, giving you a friendly smile.
The words you dreaded the most fall from Maggie’s lips, “Mass cas,” they echoed in your head and before you knew  it, you were in a bay, trying to save a teenage girl’s life.
It was chaos. Everyone was stretched thin. And so were the supplies. The air smelt of sweat and blood, so potent you could almost taste it. You were alone with the girl for what felt like hours until Connor came in. He saw your face and reassured you that you had done a good job, and the girl was lucky to have you. You felt as though you weren’t. It was times like this where you question whether you are cut out for this.
But then, the machine sounded that one tone that you always dreaded. The continuous drone and despite your and Connor’s best efforts, she passed away.
Later you find from Sam that she had a bleed in the brain. Was it your fault? It felt like your fault.
Like he could read your mind, Connor came over to you, placing a comforting hand on your shoulder. “Hey,” he said gently, “it’s not your fault.”
He glanced around at the mess the chaos had left the ER in. “In a situation like this, where there are so many patients. Even though we try our best, sometimes things don’t turn out the way we hope.”
The ER was slowly returning to order. The frantic atmosphere had calmed down, like a battlefield after the dust had settled. You moved through the now-quiet space, your mind still replaying the day’s events. You could feel the exhaustion in your limbs, but nothing was as painful as what your heart was going through. Sure you’d seen many people die before, young and old, but it doesn’t get any easier.
You worked alongside everyone, helping to tidy up the mess left behind. The day had clearly taken a toll on everyone, and it showed on their faces. Exhaustion was etched into every expression you saw. When it was finally time to leave, you were relieved.
You put your jacket on, pulling it over your shoulders and zipping it up, then, you grabbed your bag and slipped the strap onto your shoulder. You reached into the front zipper pocket and pulled out your keys, save fishing for them later in the dark car park.
On your way out of the hospital, you gave a tired wave to your colleagues, some of whom were still finishing up their tasks. Will caught your eye and walked over with a smile. "I’m going to talk to Jay," he said, "so I might be a bit late getting home." You nodded and gave him a hug. With a final wave, you stepped out into the cool evening air and just breathed it in for a second. You were ready to head home and felt you could sleep for a week. Maybe a month.
You made your way to your car, each step feeling like it took more effort than the last. Your feet dragged heavily on the pavement, scraping along the pavement as if you were being weighed down by something.
The cool evening air felt refreshing but it offered little comfort to you. As you approached your car, a shadowy figure started to form in the dim parking lot lights. Their posture was relaxed, hands shoved into their pockets, leaning casually against your car. You couldn’t quite make out who it was from a distance, but as you stepped closer the figure became clearer, and realization hit you. The familiar profile and stance matched Henry… Hank.
What is he doing here? Did something happen with Jay? No. Will would have told you. Wouldn’t he?
“Hey” he said as you reached the car, the simple greeting seeming out of place against the backdrop of everything you were feeling inside.
“Hey,” you squeaked out. You were feeling everything in the book, tiredness, sadness, nervousness you name it.
“How come you didn’t tell me you were Jay’s sister?” he asked, his head nodding slightly as he spoke, his brown eyes never leaving yours. If you weren’t so tired, those eyes and that voice would have your body begging for a repeat of last week.
You shrugged as much as your muscles would let you, “Probably the same reason you didn’t tell me you were his boss,” you retorted.
He looked at you for a moment, his eyes searching yours, looking for something you weren’t sure you had to give. You felt like your soul was laid bare and he was looking for a secret you didn’t even know you had.
But then the dam broke. You just couldn't hold it back any longer, and tears welled up in your eyes. Your voice cracked as you spoke, “I’m sorry,” The weight of everything—Hank, the exhaustion, your relationship with Jay, the teenage girl—finally spilled over.
“Hey,” he said, pulling his hands out of his pockets and reaching for you. He pulled you into his arms and surprisingly, you felt relaxed. Safe, He gently stroked your hair, his fingers combing through it soothingly, “Come on, I’ll take you home. You’re not driving while tired,” he said, grabbing your hand and leaving no room for arguments. Not that you had the energy to argue anyway.
You nodded and allowed Hank to lead you to his car. The doors clicked shut as you settled into the passenger seat. The steady hum of the engine filled the silence, and the city lights streaked past the windows, casting a soft glow inside the car. You glanced over at Hank a couple of times before turning to the passenger window, focusing on the passing objects. You bit your lip when you shot a glance at him. Why does he have to be so handsome?
If he wasn’t Jay’s boss, you’d definitely go for it. You wanted him. You scoffed shaking your head. You felt like Eve in the Garden of Eden and he was the apple. You wanted another taste.
The car slowed and came to a gentle stop in front of the building and your sadness reappeared. You were probably the only one here feeling this way. He’d probably gotten over it the second you walked out the district. You probably were just a one night stand to him.
“I’m not a one night kinda guy,” Hank spoke suddenly, breaking the silence. Your head snapped towards him, causing a slight jolt of whiplash.
“I’m not a one night kinda girl,” you replied, managing a small, sad smile. You glanced out the window, dreading what he might say next, “If you weren’t Jay’s boss then, I totally would,” you added, your voice trailing off.
Hank turned to face you fully, one eyebrow raised, “Would what?” he asked, you looked at him, rolling your eyes when you notice the smug smirk playing on his face, “I would too, but it wouldn’t be fair to you,” you scrunched your eyes at him. Fair to you? What did he mean? “I come with a lot of baggage and… I screwed up your relationship with your brother,” he continued, the smirk fading into something more serious. His eyes flicked down to the steering wheel before meeting yours again.
You shifted in your seat to get a better look at him, resting your head against the headrest, “I come with a lot of baggage too,” you sighed, your gaze dropping to the bracelet on your wrist—a gift from Jay when you got the job at Gaffney. You fiddled with it absentmindedly, “As for Jay… neither of us knew,”
His expression softened as he looked at you, “We do know now, and I can’t stop thinking about you,”
Your breath caught in your throat. His quiet words lingering in the small space of the car. His gaze remained locked on yours as the dim interior light cast soft shadows across his face. His hands rested on the steering wheel, fingers tapping lightly in an unconscious rhythm.
“I can’t stop thinking about you either but…”
“I know,” he nodded.
“Thank you, for the ride,” you said softly, leaning over to press a soft kiss to his cheek. Your lips brushed against his skin, lingering just a moment longer than you intended. You pulled back slowly, your eyes catching his, and the space between you seemed to close. You could feel the warmth from his breath, and before you could speak, he leaned in slightly. Your lips met in a brief, gentle kiss.
Without a word, you leaned back in, your hand reaching up to cup the back of his neck. This time, the kiss was not gentle. It was hungry, a desperate bid to consume each other. You felt the tension in your body coil tightly as your mouths moved together, and a soft moan escaped your throat. and it seemed to add fuel to the fire that had just been lit.
You got out the car, "Jay!" you called for him, "Please, let me explain," your voice was shaky. You didn't know where to start.
Jay's face was a thundercloud as he stomped over, his eyes flashing with anger. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" he spat out.
“Jay, please, just hear me out,” you said, stepping closer to him. Your eyes pleaded with him as you reached out to him. Tears forming in your eyes, “I didn’t know, he didn’t either… but” you paused, looking over your shoulder at him, “I…” you wanted to tell him how you felt but you thought it would make little difference.
Jay’s expression hardened, and a bitter laugh escaped him. It certainly wasn’t a laugh of amusement, but one of disbelief, “You what? Huh? You going to say you love him or something?” His words were laced with sarcasm.
“No, but…” you began, your voice catching as you tried to gather your thoughts.
Jay’s eyes narrowed, “What? Come on. You wanted to talk about it. Let’s talk about it then.” His arms crossed over his chest waiting for you to elaborate.
You took a deep breath, finding the courage to continue. “Jay, I’m not saying I’m in love with him, but I could be. I haven’t felt this way about anyone in a long time. Not since...”
He cut you off, “Look how that turned out,” he said, his words heavy with accusation. “You divorced him because you found him in bed with someone else.”
The sting of his words hit you like a punch to the gut. You flinched but tried to maintain your composure despite the raw pain of the memory. But you failed.
“I haven’t felt this safe in a long time,” you croaked out, Jay opened his mouth to speak but you didn’t let him, “53…” you said, confusing everyone, “I had 53 foster homes, some nice, some… not. I also had a brother,”
“Had?” Will asked, his voice was soft and gentle.
“H-he died,” you said, your voice quivering as if each word burnt your tongue. “Protecting me.” You took a deep breath, you didn’t really expect to have to talk about this again. the only person who knew was Herrmann after some guy outside the bar wouldn’t take no for an answer, “Our foster father… wasn’t nice. H-he used to um… mainly when Liam wasn’t around,” you paused, risking a look to your brothers, they knew what you were hinting at, “One day, Liam came home early and… tried to stop him. I-I lost him, and now I lost you too,”
Jay’s face paled, the anger in his eyes faltering at your words. Will stepped forward and wrapped his arms around you, pulling you into a tight, comforting embrace.
You buried your face in his shoulder, your breath hitching with each shuddering sob. Will held you, his hand rubbing soothing circles on your back. After a moment, Will pulled away slightly, gently wiping some stray tears from your now red cheeks.
Before you could fully process the moment, another pair of arms enveloped you. Jay pulled you into his embrace, “You will never lose me,” he said softly, pressing a kiss to your hairline. You broke down again, this time in tears of happiness. Jay’s grip tightened, “All I’ve ever wanted was for you to be safe.”
As he pulled away, Jay glanced over your shoulder at Hank, who had been standing silently, observing the exchange. Jay’s eyes were fierce, the protective version resurfacing. “You hurt her,” Jay said, his voice was low, but steady, “I’ll kill you.”
“Wait… what?” you asked, completely caught off guard.
Jay sighed, his expression softening when he turned his attention back to you. “I don’t want to lose you either,” he started, a hint of vulnerability in his voice that he often hides behind his protectiveness. “You’re my sister. I just want you to be safe and happy, and I don’t ever want to see your heart break again,”
“You can’t protect me from everything, Jay," you replied softly, offering him a small smile, "But I know you'll try," you added, a light tease in your tone.
Jay chuckled lightly, shaking his head. "Yeah, well, it's in the job description,"
“Hey, (y/n), how about you go out tonight? You had a rough night,” Will said, you looked at him your eyebrows scrunching.
“You kicking me out?” you asked, a fake pout on your lips, Will rolled his eyes, “I don’t think so, Will, I just wanna rest,”
"We could watch a movie, at my place?" Hank suggested with a shrug. You smiled, cuddling on a sofa with him? You thought about it for a bit. That sounds so enticing and doesn’t require any effort.
You glanced over at Jay, seeking his approval with a silent plea and the cutest smile you could muster. Jay sighed as he looked between you and Hank. He rolled his eyes, "Okay, go," he said, waving you off.
You squealed in delight, bouncing on the balls of your feet. You quickly leaned over to kiss Jay’s cheek, leaving a faint lipstick mark on his skin
“Hey!” Will exclaimed, feigning offense as he crossed his arms over his chest. His eyebrows shot up in mock offence. You knew from the playful glint in his eyes that he wasn’t really offended but you played along anyway.
“Best twin brother ever,” you corrected with a playful grin, stepping over to Will. You leaned in and kissed his cheek as well, leaving another lipstick mark. Will chuckled, shaking his head. With a quick wave and a bright smile, you hurried back over to Hank’s car. The cool evening air nipped at your skin as you slipped into the passenger seat, the door closing with a soft thud.
As you settled into the passenger seat, Hank started the car, the engine purring softly to life. The glow from the dashboard lights cast a gentle blue hue over his face, highlighting his strong beautiful jawline. You looked out the window, watching the familiar streets of Chicago pass by, illuminated slightly by the dim streetlights.
It didn’t take long for Hank’s place to come into view. He pulled into the driveway, the gravel crunching under the tires. As you stepped out of the car, Hank extended his hand, you reached out and took it, feeling a comforting squeeze as your feet hit the pavement. Hank noticed your bag hanging off your shoulder, "Let me take that," he said, sliding the strap off your shoulder before you could protest. You smiled maybe you thought.
The two of you walked up the short path to his front door. Hank unlocked the door and held it open for you, stepping aside to let you in first out the cold.
Hank gestured towards the sofa, "Make yourself comfortable. I'll grab some drinks," He disappeared into the kitchen. You kicked off your shoes and curled up on the sofa, letting out a sigh as you feel the soft fabric against your skin.
A few moments later, Hank returned with some beers, you eyed the beer, “I don’t entertain much,” he spoke as he set them down on the coffee table and grabbed the remote, scrolling through the options. "Any preferences?" he asked, glancing over at you.
You shrugged, "Something light and funny?" you suggested. He nodded and picked a comedy, the kind that you could easily get lost in.
As the movie started, you found yourself leaning against him. The warmth of his body next to yours and the soothing sounds of laughter from the screen made you feel peaceful. You felt the tension of the day melting away.
Before long, the soft flicker of the TV and the warmth of his body lulled you into a state of peaceful drowsiness. Your eyes grew heavy, and despite your efforts to stay awake, you felt yourself drifting off. The last thing you remembered was the sound of Hank's low chuckle and the gentle rise and fall of his breathing beside you.
As you dozed off, Hank noticed and gently pulled a blanket over you. He watched you sleep for a moment, a soft smile on his face, before carefully picking you up. You stirred slightly, mumbling something incoherent, but didn't wake up. Hank carried you to the guest room, laying you gently on the bed. He turned to leave, but you reached out, grabbing his wrist.
"Stay," you murmured, your voice barely above a whisper.
Hank hesitated for a moment before he nodded. He slipped off his shoes, you could hear the faint sound of them hitting the floor before he carefully climbed into the guest bed beside you, the mattress dipping slightly under his weight. The cool sheets rustled softly as he settled in. You instinctively rolled over, your body drawn to his like a magnet. Your head found its place on his chest, the soft fabric of his shirt comforting against your cheek.
You could feel the steady rise and fall of his breathing, each breath a gentle motion that seemed to sync with the beating of his heart. As you nestled closer, the comforting warmth of his body enveloped you once more.
His arm wrapped around you, as if shielding you from the outside world. His fingers brushed lightly against your back. The soft, repetitive sound of his heartbeat lulled you into a peaceful slumber, your breathing slowing to match his.

" "con, don't you ever fuckin' relax?"
"lieutenant, i'm a machine. i don't need to 'relax'."
"oh fuck you, come on, we're on break. loosen up a little or something. you can chill out from your fuckin' mission for the three minutes it'll take me to smoke this cigarette. and shut your mouth before you go telling me it isn't actually exactly three minutes on average to smoke a cigarette or whatever."
connie closes her mouth. a small addition to her list of missions to accomplish is made: try to appear "relaxed" to appease lieutenant anderson. a raise in friendship means an easier partner to work with, so connie carefully inspects the lieutenant's posture and does her best to replicate it. being a machine of plastic and metal certainly doesn't make it easy. "
hankcon, but gorls. did i base hank off of my butch lesbian manager at my old job at a sex toy store who was covered in spongebob tattoos? absolutely yes i did
mostly i just wanted to portray fem!hank as a Large Woman because i think there is a severe lack of that. broad with muscle hidden under fat, like the kind of woman who does shot put. so uh,,, ms trunchbull basically LMAO. deep voice, raspy from smoking and drinking, all that good stuff 😩👌 also peep the button on her jacket hehe
got some headcanons and stories for them under the cut!
-hank wears cargo shorts 100% of the time. no matter the weather or temperature. like, 'bill and ted at prom in shorts, but it's her at a dpd ceremony in cargo shorts' level. but not actually because i'm totally gonna draw her in a pantsuit later, totally not with connie on her hip in a slinky dress 👀
-also yes hank's shirt is a spongebob reference
-when people ask hank why she goes by hank and not her "real name," (which i like to headcanon is "henrietta") she always says, "oh it's actually a really funny story, i'll tell you later," and the later never comes lmao. or, if she does tell you, it's some made up wacky story that actually has nothing to do with giving herself the name hank. the real reason? she just likes it
-speaking of "henrietta," this story, 'if you know where to look' by ghost_teeth, works so fucking well with a lot of my headcanons about how their characters would be like genderbent! highly recommend it, and all their dbh stories honestly!
-connie has a compact gun (i asked my brother for examples and he said sig p365 or springfield hellcat, which i think work perfectly for this) holstered inside her jacket on the left side. also, i'm stealing this idea from this post (which basically almost has the same design for fem!connor (altho like, most designs for her are basically the same lmao)) but she also has a knife strapped to her thigh
-her skirt is actually made of some super high tech flexible and durable material, and she's got specific programming to make her balance crazy good, since she'll be running in heels. she's made to hunt and pursue deviants so obviously she needs to be able to run and jump. the outfit is only made to appear like a standard "business woman" to blend in with the humans she would be required to work with, but otherwise gives her everything/doesn't hold her back from doing what she needs to complete her mission. here's a bonus conversation i had with @extraordinaryandroid about it lmaoo:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-hank met connor-51 first for the ortiz case, but connie-52 (with 51's memories of course) came in the next day when it was announced they were to be officially paired to investigate deviants. cyberlife has their grubby lil hands in everything so of course they knew their RK800 unit would be paired with this lieutenant anderson before basically anyone else, and deemed that she'd get along better with a "female model" that she would find attractive. which of course has hank like WOW that's super weird and gross of y'all! and i fucking hate that it's working you pieces of shit at cyberlife !!!! but ofc connie's like "im a machine i dont even have a gender" all the while hank's sweatin major thirsty bullets
-at the cyberlife tower, connor-51 is the one to hold hank at gunpoint. how did he get hank to trust him? idk i haven't figured that out yet lmao, but the angst of connor-51 essentially taking the place of -60 from the game in the sense that he's clearly deviant in some capacity, in this context being that he feels connie stole the life he deserved (which he'd never admit) and now wants to suck up to cyberlife and be their best boi to feel important and special again and not knowing they'd just throw him away for the RK900 model, is very good imo. that was a very long sentence so i hope it made sense lmaoo. have i worked out all the details of how all that shit would work in a story? absolutely not, im too busy thinking about butch fem!hank making her robo girlfriend bluescreen in the bedroom 🤪
also if ur wondering wtf the background is, idk. my usual plain color gradient was too simple, but i did NOT want to put in the effort to do a whole ass real background, so i settled on something in between. meh, it's just them hagin' out behind the station on a smoke break ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

🔥Sinful Sunday🔥
🎂Happy Birthday Gavin🎂
Rating:🔞 Explicit-sexual content🔥 Fandom:💙Detroit Become Human💙 Ships: Hankconvin900, Nines x Gavin x Hank x Connor Tags: Birthday sex, blow jobs, multiple orgasms, bukkake, Bottom Gavin, M/M/M/M, DBH polycule, PWP- plot what plot/porn without plot, Daddy kink, sir kink, degradation/humiliation kink, unsafe sex A/N: this took me all day, please give it some love🤝💙
Of all the places to be, on his least favorite day of the year, he has to be at phcking work, sitting through yet another PR meeting about ‘Accepting Androids in the workplace.’
The revolution last November changed the world, and now, 10 or so months later, things are just starting to balance back out. And that he thinks has more to do with two Androids in particular, who were able to reach Gavin in a way even Hank, his longtime friend and partner couldn't.
He sure didn't make it easy. Gavin never makes anything easy. But they persisted. And now he’s moved back into Anderson's house, he’s work partners with Nines, and he, Nines, Connor, and Hank are in the weirdest, most unpredicted polycule he's ever been a part of.
It's been great, at least the last couple of months have been. Like he said, he didn't make the transition easy. But once they found the key to getting Gavin to open up, everything just kinda spilled out. Then it was easier. Because the shit Gavin was actually mad about finally came out, and he learned Connor and Nines weren’t really that bad of dudes. Annoying, yeah, but hey, so was he.
They also helped introduce Gavin to some of the best sex he’s ever had. Turns out, having two high-stamina Androids as fuck buddies had its advantages. The pair opened him and Hank up to a world of new kink opportunities that had the additional side effect of bringing them all closer together as a result. Which he guesses is good too. He’s certainly happier than he’s been-
Nines bumps his shoulder, and Gavin only notices now he’s drooling. He wipes his mouth quickly with the back of his hand before clearing his throat. No one in the large lecture hall outside of Nines caught the action, which Gavin was grateful for. His phone lit up with a silent message from the Android just a moment later.
{Bored Gavin? Or daydreaming again?} 1:43 PM
Gavin chuckles quietly before slipping his phone under the table. They were all adult officers, looking at their phones wasn’t disallowed, but Gavin was trying to be polite with how much he was actively not paying attention.
[I can think of at least 15 things I’d rather be doing with my time than this…] 1:44 PM
{This is a required seminar for all officers} 1:44 PM
[Yeah, I know, but it’s not like I’m gonna give Androids any trouble anymore.] 1:44 PM
[Even if I tried, you’d kill me before I got half a sentence out.] 1:44 PM
Gavin sent the message and waited for Nines to read it. A growing warmth bloomed in his gut when the side of Nines' mouth turned up in amusement.
{You're correct, I would.} 1:45 PM
Gavin assumes it would be left at that, and starts to try and pay attention. Until another message popped up.
{Only a little bit longer now. We will be leaving for the day after this.} 1:47 PM
That surprised Gavin.
[As much as I’m pro ditching work, don’t think Fowler’s gonna go for it.] 1:47 PM
Nines' face remained stoic and emotionless, giving nothing away.
{The request for PTO has been entered and accepted for months.} 1:48 PM
Gavin’s mouth dropped open. Because he sure as hell didn't put in the request. He prefers to work on his birthday. Helps him avoid thinking about it. About Cole. About everything.
Nines sent another message.
{Just because you refuse to acknowledge the day doesn’t mean it ceases to exist Gavin.} 1:48 PM
Gavin flushed red and flipped his phone over on the desk. He was done talking about this. He had purposely avoided telling Nines and Connor when it was for this reason. Though in hindsight, it was kind of stupid to think two supercomputers didn't have access to something as mundane as his birthday, but still. Hank knew how he felt about it. He’s made it crystal clear.
He didn't say anything to Nines for the rest of the meeting.
It was a quiet and un-phcking-comfortable 36 minutes.
“GAVIN, WAIT!” Nines is shouting after him, but he doesn't want to talk about it.
“I PHCKING HATE SUPRISE PARTIES,” he shouts back instead. He’s so edgy by the time he reaches his car he drops his keys twice, and Nines catches up to him…
“Gavin, I know how you feel about your birthday-” Nines starts, but Gavin doesn't let him finish.
Gavin acts before he considers all ramifications and grabs Nines by his jacket. He sees red. He shoves Nines until his back hits the four-door.
“No! You don’t know shit,” he insists furiously.
When Nines' face exposes genuine shock and his LED flashes red does Gavin remember that he's a mushy, mortal, sack of bones who just physically, stupidly, assaulted a top-of-the-line Police Bot. Who ya know, also happened to be his partner and nonconventional boyfriend. He should definitely let go. Why can’t he let go?
“Let go of me Gavin,” Nines insists calmly, LED back to a steady and less homicidal, cyan.
Gavin does. Immediately grateful Nines chose mercy and both his wrists were still intact. He straightens his own clothes before unlocking his car.
“I don’t want to talk about it.”
“I’m not asking you to. Just, to keep an open mind. We have spent a fair bit of time setting this up for you.”
“Who’s we?”
Nines opens the passenger side and slides into the seat without answering.
Gavin’s teeth clench but he yanks himself into the driver's seat. When he pulls on his seatbelt, Nines finally answers.
“Connor, Hank, and I.”
That admission has a fair bit of Gavin’s anxiety melting off his shoulders and leveling out his temper.
“Just you guys,” he clarifies as he turns the engine over.
“Yes. Unless you want to extend the invite to others.”
Gavin shook his head.
“Not really.”
Gavin didn't trust anyone else like he trusted them.
When they pull up to Hank’s house Sumo rushes out to greet them.
“Hey buddy.”
The comfort of Hank’s dog helps ease more of the discomfort Gavin is feeling as he walks up to unknowns in the house. Nines doesn't rush him inside, so he takes an extra minute, waiting until he can breathe without wheezing before heading inside.
The rest of his anxious reservations melt upon opening the door.
“O-Oh.”
“Yes,” Nines confirms. “I’m sorry I couldn’t tell you sooner. I was bound to secrecy. Connor threatened fratricide.”
“I did,” Connor smiles, sitting completely naked on the living room couch, with Hank between his legs. “Welcome home, Gavin.”
“Phck me,” Gavin pants, because it's suddenly way too hot in here and he swears his jeans just shrank.
“That was the plan,” Nines confirms amusedly, and his hand finds Gavin’s low back. “Shall we join them?”
Gavin’s having trouble making his mouth form words so he nods. The drool is back in full force,  because there really is no prettier sight than a naked Hank Anderson, on his knees sucking cock.
While Connor continues to use Hank’s throat, Nines is opening Gavin up on his fingers over the loveseat. It gets easier and quicker every time they do this, but it's becoming increasingly obvious to Gavin that Nines is taking his time on purpose tonight.
“Please Sir,” Gavin asks, pushing his ass back against the long slender digits. He needs so much more than just two fingers inside him.
“I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of hearing that,” Nines hums and it makes Gavin weak.
“I’ll say whatever the phck you want as long as you don’t stop touching me.”
Nines rewards him with another slick finger, pumping gently in and out with the others. Gavin relaxes even further in the Android’s grasp.
“Why aren't you obedient like this more often? You’d get what you want faster.”
“It’s no fun being good all the time,” Gavin laughs, a little breathless from the sudden increase in speed. “Ask Connor.”
Connor looks up from Hank, who currently has all of Connor’s cock in his throat. The brunette grins and slips his hand into the older man’s silver hair, holding Hank’s face in place.
“He’s right,” Connor shrugs. To emphasize his point, he pushes Hank down further, waiting until the last possible moment before pulling Hank back by his hair so he could breathe.
The sputtering sound Hank made upon removal was gorgeous; wet, gasping, and needy as he tries to keep any part of Connor’s cock in his mouth while he takes some much-needed breaths.
Gavin’s cock spits more fluid. It’s so phcking hot. They are so phcking hot. He could watch that shit on a loop forever.
“I think that's enough Connor,” Nines says a moment later, and both Connor and Hank are up and moving without a fuss, walking towards the bedroom.
Gavin is confused why they aren't following. Nines pushes in another finger and twists them until Gavin squeaks, holding him right where he wants him as Gavin catches his breath. When he has, Nines takes his chin and kisses him, forcing the air right back out.
Nines chuckles and the heat sends goosebumps rippling down Gavin’s right side.
“Ready for the next part of your present?”
Gavin groans. “Oh hell yes.”
Four fingers are not enough of a stretch to fully ready himself for Hank’s monster cock, but with a lot of lube and stimulation pretty much everywhere else and Gavin’s too pleasantly distracted to notice any pain upon entry.
Connor has his mouth and is kissing him filthily and with teeth while Nines has his hand around his cock, pumping Gavin closer and closer to the edge. That plastic bastard Nines knows how sensitive the skin around his piercings is, so his fingers stay there, playing with the slick mess of his tip and pushing his thumb across his piercings until Gavin cries. Hank’s own thrusts inside his body start slow, but every time one of the Androids pulls a ple2ased sound out of him, Hank’s next thrust is harder, deeper, or faster. Like they were competing to see who could get him to bust first.
Nines’ fingers catch his piercings, tugging against the head and Gavin whines, desperate and needy. Connor’s tongue pushes deep into his throat, chasing the sound and Hank pulls Gavin’s hips flush against his own. The next two dozen snaps are pointed and so perfect they turn his legs to jelly.
"Daddy-” he whimpers, resting his forehead against Connor’s while he attempts to catch his breath through the powerful thrusts. “Please."
Hank’s hand comes down on his ass cheek hard and the sound echoes perfectly off the walls.
“Again,” Gavin groans. Hank delivers another slap as hard as the first one. Gavin’s cock spits more fluid into Nines’ hand. "Fuck, again." Gavin is sobbing. His prostate is under repeated abuse and every thrust of Hank’s cock is so much to take he feels delirious on pleasure. Connor swallows down his every moan, biting into his neck when he wants to hear him cry and Gavin loves the feeling of being strung out on them.
"Getting close already baby," Hank chuckles knowingly and Gavin doesn’t have an ounce of energy left to feel shame.
"Pleaaase," Gavin begs, because the ache in his core is driving him feral. He needs it. Nines has finally stopped touching his dick but it doesn't matter, he’s gonna cum no matter what.
"Get up then, I don't think Nines or Connor can see how wet your cock is."
Gavin doesn't have time to think of a retort because he's being pulled up against Hank’s chest that next minute. The new position allows the final few inches to slip in and break Gavin's brain.
"Ph-ck, oh god, yes, Daddy-” Gavin whimpers, quieter than a whisper.
“There you go,” Hank praises before taking Gavin’s cock into his hand, “you boys see that?”
"Sloppy mess, as per usual," Nines agrees and Gavin thrashes as that degradation sends a powerful wave of arousal down his spine.
"He's absolutely gorgeous," Connor whispers. His eyes are still on Gavin, taking in every inch of his exposed and vulnerable form and making Gavin feel all kinds of ways.
"Hear that Sweetheart?" Hank praises, and Gavin is too lust-drunk to do anything but feel and whine.
"Can I- come on, please-"
"Yeah baby, go ahead, let us see you.”
Gavin whines as his long overdue orgasm punches out of him, rocketing his body down and then immediately away from the enormous cock inside him. It hurts to be full, but he doesn't want to be empty either. Where he stopped and where Hank’s holding him is perfect.
Nines and Connor’s eyes haven’t left his cock which is pumping white all over his stomach and the carpet below. He wants to stay here forever. It aches in his balls just the way he likes. Relaxes his muscles and releases so much tension. Clears his mind, and makes him feel light, high, and floaty.
Until Hank starts thrusting again and Gavin desperately needs a break. Just for a second.
“Hank,” Gavin whines, because his prostate is so sensitive.
“I got ya baby, don’t worry.”
Hank pulls out slow, kissing down the back of Gavin’s neck because knows his body and his sounds better than anyone.
“Thank you,” he gasps, and he’s melting right back into that warm floaty place.
“Course,” Hank chuckles warmly, “can’t break our fuck toy before the twins even get a full turn with ya.”
“Phck,” Gavin gasps, more cum dribbles out of the sensitive tip of his spent cock and he barely has the energy to moan. He wants it though. Even if it’ll wipe him out for the next two days, he wants it.
Nines and Connor each return to his side. Connor hands him a glass of water and he’s so grateful he could cry.
When they get back at it again, Hank elects to watch the next round from his armchair. Gavin is in the center of their Cali king mattress, naked on his knees with his arms behind his back. They’ve caged his cock, because Gavin doesn't want to cum again just yet.
Nines and Connor are standing at the foot of the bed. They haven’t started touching him yet either, which is as agonizingly frustrating as it is intimidating. Probably because they just kept looking at him, obviously communicating telepathically because both of their LEDs were flashing.
It’s been like this for a while, not even Hank is putting up a fuss about the lack of action. Gavin begins to wonder just how long they have been planning this.
When something in Connor’s eyes changes and he flushes blue Gavin starts to squirm under the gaze. It moves the plug in his ass, lining it up a little better with his still-sensitive prostate. He moans before doing it again.
Evidently, that's enough of a rule break to receive the wrath of Nines' glacial stare.
“Didn't say you could move slut. Flip over, onto your stomach. Now.”
Gavin tries to hold back his pleased grin as he does what Nines instructs. He didn't hate getting punished, it was so much better than not being touched at all.
When Gavin is comfortable on his stomach, Nines grabs his hips and pulls him backward, until his legs fall over the edge of the mattress.
“You’ll appreciate the angle better,” Nines explains and Gavin is sure he’s right. His fingers then move between Gavin’s ass cheeks, finding the plug and pulling it free. Some of Hank’s release came out with it and dripped down Gavin’s caged balls. Hank and Connor both gasped their appreciation.
“Phck,” Gavin pants and Nines chuckles before slipping two fingers inside him.
“Feeling impatient?”
“What do you think?” Gavin sasses and Nines pulls his fingers out. Gavin is pushing back to try and follow them but Nines’ steel grip on his hip has him halted in place. Pleasure burns hot in his gut. “Please, Sir, please fuck me?”
“Yes. but I’m not gonna cum inside you.”
“What? Why not?” Gavin whined, surprising everyone but Nines.
Nines spanks him hard, harder than Hank and it has Gavin bucking against the mattress just from sheer force. The sting that follows is blissful, and Gavin relaxes onto his chest. “‘Sorry Sir,” he hums and Nines smiles. Though he can't see it from this angle.
“Because I’m going to paint you with it instead.”
That has Gavin groaning along with the full-body shudder the suggestion caused. Evidently Hank had let the twins in on that particular kink of his. He’d be mad, if it didn't make him so phcking hot to imagine it.
“Is that alright?” Nines asks and Gavin realizes he didn't speak.
“Phck yeah,” Gavin pants.
“Sir please…” Gavin begs again for who knows how many times now. Nines and Connor have been edging him for close to an hour now. His cock is still trapped in the cage and the floor below is puddling with Gavin’s precum.
Nines and Connor’s matched assaults with their cocks paired with Hank’s filthy praises have brought him to the absolute edge but never over and it's killing him. Gavin’s been reduced to a shaking, whimpering, pathetic pile, just begging to be destroyed and they still won’t do it.
“What was that Gavin? Did you say something?” Nines asks cheekily, pulling Gavin’s hips down, the tip of the android's cock pressed against Gavin’s prostate which throbs it's so sore now.
“Sir, Connor, please.”
“What do you need Gavin?” Connor asks, voice so much gentler than his younger, meaner brothers.
“Cum on me, and then let me cum for you. Please, I can’t take any more.”
“Hmm, I suppose you have suffered enough,” Nines chuckles.
Connor’s hand leads Gavin’s mouth back onto his cock while Nines' hands are busy between Gavin’s legs. He hears the blissful sounds of the lock tumblers and then the cage is falling free.
“Thank you, phck, thank you,” Gavin pulls off to gasp, because his dick is quickly filling, and Nines has him flipped over, back onto the center of the mattress.
“Hank, did you still want to record this?” Connor asks Hank and Gavin feels another pull of arousal in his gut.
“Better hurry,” Gavin warns and is rewarded with the first taste of Nines' orgasm on his tongue. It tasted like nothing, well not nothing, he tasted like flavorless, water-based lube. With every pump of Nines’ hand, Gavin is coated with a warm slick release. Every drop that landed on his cock has him bucking up, eager to cum. Too eager actually. “Phck,” Gavin pants, gripping the base of his cock to keep the orgasm back. Connor still had his turn to take after all.
The brunette in question gained his attention now. He straddled Gavin and the detective was excited for the up close and personal view.
“Pump it,” Connor orders and Gavin drops his own cock in favor of mono-focusing on Connors. He loves watching Connor cum. Loves how expressive his dumb, pretty face is when he’s toppling over the edge into oblivion.
Connor’s eyebrows bunch together, signaling he is about to shoot and the words are falling out of Gavin’s mouth before he can stop them.
“Mark your claim Con.”
Connor’s head falls back and his cock is still in Gavin’s hand. Cum is spurting across Gavin’s chest, under his chin, and pooling around the base of his cock, making everything so much wetter. Gavin is surprised he hasn’t cum yet.
When Connor finally recovers from his orgasm, he’s moving. Not far, just enough to line up his hole with Gavin’s cock and sit on it.
“Phck!” Gavin curses.
“Say my name, I love when you beg it,” Connor groans, tightening around his cock and rocking against him.
Gavin chokes on his gasp, he thrusts into Connor hard. These androids drove him fuckin’ crazy.
“Connor,” he says, cock near bursting.
“Yes Detective?” Connor chuckles, hot, wet, and secret in his ear and that's it. Gavin can’t hold back anymore.
“Connor, phck, phck-” he’s cumming. Hard because he’s been edged for so damn long. Because each of them has thoroughly scratched each of his kinks. His hips thrust up against Connor’s ass as he rode out the waves of his orgasm. Connor pulled him forward until he could kiss him. Gavin kisses him back.
“So, how did you like your birthday gift?” Connor asked.
Gavin turned to where the Android was currently curled up against him post-sex and smirked. Nines was on his opposite side. Hank was snoring behind Connor, his arm draped across the android's hip and hand interlocked with Gavin’s. Gavin didn't blame Hank for passing out, nor was he mad. He was seconds away from falling asleep himself. Gavin nods to answer Connor’s question.
“Easily, best birthday I’ve ever had.”
Nines hums pleasantly whereas Connor smiles like Gavin hung the fucking moon.
“Really?”
Gavin nods.
“Yeah Tin Man, really.”

Read on AO3 here:
Summary: At the yearly DPD Christmas party, Tina Chen is desperate to find company in someone other than the precinct Grinch.
This comes in the form of Jasmine, a charming ST300 who works at reception. Following a kiss under the mistletoe, things quickly begin to escalate - with the night concluding at Tina's apartment.
(Set before the events of 'More Than Our Parts' - featuring cameos from Gavin, Nines, Connor and Hank)
Word Count: 6.4k
Written as a request for @youbelongwiththecompany - any fans of hogwarts legacy, please be sure to check out her work! she is a very talented writer :)
Tina was sat at one of the fold-out tables that had been set up around the precinct, nursing a glass of mulled wine. Gavin Reed, her best friend - and front runner for the least jolly man she had ever met in her life - was slumped in the chair beside her. His arms were folded over a garish sweater she had teasingly insisted he wear, with a face comparable to someone who had just necked a mug of curdled eggnog.
"You could try faking some holiday cheer, you know."
Gavin sneered at the prospect, shooting her a withering look. "Why bother? Everyone knows office parties are the worst. It’s an unwritten law".
"Maybe you’d be having more fun if you did something other than sulk." She took another indulgent sip from her glass, savouring the spiced warmth. "How about karaoke?"
He glanced at the makeshift stage set up by a stack of desks. A pair of junior officers fought for control over a microphone as they stumbled over the lyrics of a cheesy ballad. Their off-key chorus bellowed uproariously, causing him to wince.
"I’d rather shoot myself."
Knocking back his umpteenth whiskey, she noted how the alcohol was doing nothing to levy his cynicism. If anything, it was making his complaints louder - and more challenging to ignore. "Why couldn't we go to Broncos? Then we could actually be enjoying ourselves."
"Because we need to get you socialised with people that aren't me."
"Like who?"
Her eyes scanned the bustling room, across the groups of bright-faced people exchanging pleasantries. It made her a little bit envious as she found herself saddled with the precinct Grinch. While she loved Gavin dearly, it was an open secret that everyone possessed a 'Reed Tolerance Gauge'. While hers was considerably higher than most, it was currently ticking over its limit.
She was happy to usher her friend along to the next willing victim. If only so that she could indulge in some festive ambience without his disparaging running commentary. After a while of hopeful searching, she spotted a figure of interest. His large brown eyes shone exuberantly as he chatted with a pair of coworkers. A subtle blue dusted his cheeks, complementing the gentle glow on his temple.
"What about Connor?" she suggested hopefully. "Everyone loves Connor, he’s a sweetheart."
The ‘curdled egg-nog expression’ worsened as Gavin glared over to the android in question, nose wrinkled in disgust. "I hate Connor."
"Yeah, but you think he’s dreamy", she teased, batting her eyelashes.
Gavin recoiled with such ferocity that he almost tipped off his chair. His eyes were bulged comedically wide, almost threatening to pop from their sockets. "No, I fucking don’t!" he hissed. "He’s a little lap dog who spends all his time sniffing around Anderson - and his face is goofy as shit."
"Sure it is."
Tina scrutinised the officers that Connor was speaking to. Despite having their backs turned, she could identify the first of the two from his distinctive mop of grey hair. Hank was giving Gavin some competition in the ugly sweater department - a chaotic jumble of colours bright enough to halt traffic.
The second individual had neglected to adhere to the festive dress code. He was wearing a CyberLife-issue jacket accented by hard blocks of black and white. The lettering below the lapel informed of his model: RK900.
After a few more minutes of chatter, Connor reached over to place something on RK900's head - a set of novelty antlers. The other android thwarted his efforts, harshly swatting them away. Tina watched as the vibrant felt flapped back limply, falling in line with Connor's expression.
"How about the new guy?" she suggested, encouraging Gavin to look over with a subtle nod of her head. "You can bond over how much you both hate fun."
He was far from subtle in stealing a glance, squinting dubiously as he leaned across the table. It just so happened that RK900 had begun to turn around, seemingly trying to escape Connor's reach, and caught a glimpse of the man flagrantly gawking at him. His steely eyes narrowed in a mixture of confusion and judgment.
The detective refused to avert his gaze. If anything, he doubled down, accentuating the pointed glare with a belligerent puff of his chest. "The fuck is it staring at?"
"You - because you’re staring at him, genius". Tina sunk back in her chair as she wilted from secondhand embarrassment.
"Hey, jackass!" He cupped his hands to his mouth as he shouted across the precinct. The address earned more than a few puzzled looks from their coworkers. "Got somethin’ to say to me, tin can?"
The RK900 blinked wordlessly before turning his attention away without so much as a twitch of acknowledgement. Gavin sunk back in his seat, muttering obscenities under his breath. "Yeah, that’s what I thought, fucking prick".
"Smooth" Tina rolled her eyes, miming a silent round of applause. "I don’t know how he could possibly resist your rugged charms."
She took another sip from her glass, wondering if she ought to concede and take Gavin elsewhere. If they went to Broncos, she would, at the very least, be able to enjoy a drink in peace. There would also be the added benefit of saving the man from another disciplinary. Just as she was about to pose the suggestion, she felt a light tap on her shoulder:
"Hello, Officer Chen. Great party, isn’t it?"
As Tina swivelled in her chair, she felt her mouth go dry. Standing by the table was Jasmine, one of the ST300’s who worked at reception. Her glossy brown hair had been fastened into an elegant side braid, and she was dressed in a stylish red dress that hugged her figure beautifully.
"Hey, Jas. How’s it going?" It took a great deal of restraint not to rake every inch of her svelte body, trying to keep focus on her doe-like eyes. "It is a great party; I’m glad someone’s noticed".
Gavin made an exaggerated gagging gesture, accompanied by a retch. Jasmine seemed taken aback but smiled cordially regardless. "Hello, Detective Reed. Are you enjoying yourself?".
"I’m out". He slammed his hands on the table, rising to his feet with a grunt. "If you need me, I'll be having a smoke, and then I’ll be heading home to party it up with my cat."
He stomped off towards the exit without so much as a backwards glance as the two women watched on with varying degrees of enthusiasm.
"Did I…say something wrong?" Jasmine asked, nibbling her lower lip.
"That’s pretty standard for him, you’re fine." Feeling emboldened by the alcohol, Tina gestured to the chair beside her before giving it a gentle pat. "Seems like there's an opening. Care to fill it?"
A cool-toned blush peeked through a prominent dusting of freckles before Jasmine slowly nodded, perching herself on the end of the chair and crossing her slender legs. "Thank you."
"No, thank you. It’s nice to enjoy some company that doesn't need to be kept on a leash."
Jasmine giggled at the mocking statement before covering her mouth to disguise it, seemingly out of respect for the contentious 'company' in question. "Well, I'm glad I could help. I’d hate to think that you were missing out."
"Don't worry, now that Scrooge is gone, I can appreciate all this". Tina smiled warmly, gesturing her arms to their exuberant surroundings.
Tinsel and fairy lights had been strewn across every available surface, bathing the room in a pleasant glow. A life-sized Father Christmas stood peering from Captain Fowler’s door, his jolly smile beaming out as he held up a 'Nice List'. It detailed the names of everyone who worked at the precinct. Except for Gavin, whom Tina had scribbled off. In the corner of the office was a Secret Santa drop-off. A desk adorned with presents had been enclosed with sheets of cardboard, skillfully cut and positioned to resemble the sides of a sleigh.
"Seriously, you girls at reception nailed it. Last year, we had some candles, and I think a garland in the canteen. It was a bonafide winter wonderland."
Jasmine giggled again, less inclined to mask it this time. "Well, for myself and a lot of the others, it’s our first ever Christmas…" She paused, a flicker of unspoken emotion passing across her face, "At least the first where we could participate - so we wanted to make it special."
Tina winced at the unpleasant implications as she traced a finger along the rim of her glass. Staring into the dwindling liquid, she tried to change the subject. "Did you want me to get us some drinks? My treat."
"It’s an open bar, Officer Chen", the other woman replied, tilting her head. "I don't think you need to pay."
"Yeah, I know, but I’ll get it for you. What do you say?"
"That sounds lovely", she agreed, folding her hands over her lap.
Tina shot Jasmine an affectionate wink before standing up and making her way towards the bar. As soon as her face was turned, the confident facade dwindled, as she found herself silently ruminating in all of her bundled-up nerves:
oh my god this girl is so out of my league she's so sweet and sophisticated and hot and shit what do I even say to her -
When she reached her destination, the VS400 working the bar politely greeted her before gesturing to the row of bottles above his head. "Same again, ma’am?".
"Uh, yeah, please, and can I get one of those Thirium cocktails for my…" She paused momentarily, stealing a glance at her table, and the elegant woman sat in wait. Her warm eyes twinkled serenely in the glow of the festive lights as she watched a group of officers clumsily enjoy a dance. The passive joy she exuded was heartwarming, inspiring Tina to ensure she received her own moment in the spotlight.
"..friend." She punctuated the word with a sigh, dreamy smile plastered onto her lips.
"Okay, and what cocktail would your friend like?"
The moment of relaxed contentment dissipated as she turned back to the VS400 with a baffled expression. "Beg pardon."
"We have several options to choose from in various synthetic flavours. There’s Strawberry, Raspberry, Apple, Kiwi, Guava, Orange, Passionfruit, Lemon, Lime, Peach, Pear, Apricot, Blueberry, Blackberry, Cherry -"
Her brain whirred from the sudden onslaught of information. He's still going. Why is he still going? Make it stop.
"- Mango, Melon, Nectarine, Pineapple, and Plum. Each drink also has the option of a festive spice or syrup and an edible garnish."
By the time the man had finished speaking, Tina's brain was utterly fried. Her mouth gaped open and closed dumbly as she tried to answer the question. Do androids even have taste buds? How do they process flavours? Do they download a databank of human descriptions and then just upload that into their -
"I don't think I actually said what I wanted." Tina snapped around and saw Jasmine standing beside her, an apologetic half-smile tugging her lips.
"You didn't - and I didn't ask," she said, feeling a small rush of relief as she rubbed the back of her neck. "I just assumed there was only one option."
"New advancements are being made constantly in Android-safe consumables. It can be hard to keep up." Jasmine glanced at a chalkboard behind the bar, detailing the extensive list of options. Her LED cycled to yellow as she processed the information before quickly flitting back to blue. "I'll have Apple with Cinnamon Spice. No garnish."
When their drinks were ready, Tina ensured she was the one to receive them from the bartender. She glanced curiously at Jasmine’s drink: A blue, iridescent liquid filled with tiny bubbles. Handing it over, she felt their fingers lightly brush. It ignited a small charge of excitement before swiftly petering off as the other woman failed to react.
"There you go - as promised."
The android raised the glass to her mouth, taking a small, tentative sip as though testing the flavour. She then tilted her head and knocked back the rest in a single unbroken gulp.
The dissonance Tina felt was staggering. Watching such a poised, dignified woman effortlessly shoot an entire cocktail like it was whiskey. She let out a low whistle as a rising heat crept to her cheeks. "Oh wow. You can really put 'em away, huh?"
Not wanting to seem like a bad sport, she decided to follow suit. The wine flowed smoothly at first, gently warming her neck, until she realised that the action may have been somewhat ill-advised. Struggling with the last few glugs, the unsunk liquid pooled in her throat, causing her to cough and splutter.
"It doesn't really affect us", Jasmine explained, sliding her now empty glass back to the bartender. "It increases our Thirium flow, making us warm. Like a little buzz of energy. It doesn't last very long before our systems regulate, so there isn't a need to pace ourselves."
Tina sunk into herself as she silently chided her own overzealousness. The android, sensing the change in demeanour, was quick to offer reassurance.
"You couldn't have known, don't be embarrassed". Jasmine seemed to experience her own moment of self-introspection as she began to chuckle sheepishly. "Since I deviated, I've lost touch with certain social cues. How about I get us another round so we can both try again?"
"It's an open bar", the officer reminded.
"Yes, but I can hand it to you." Jasmine leant in a bit as she said this, her dark eyelashes fluttering in such a way that Tina couldn't tell if it was deliberate or not. Is she flirting with me? Or is she just being nice? She's always so nice. I can't tell.
The next drinks were paced decidedly better. Rather than return to their table, they opted to remain at the bar, which proved an opportune spot for people-watching.
Jasmine was chattering pleasantly about her affinity for the holiday season and complimenting the festive attire of their coworkers. Tina could feel herself drift as she spoke - still listening to every word but through a haze of trance-like captivation. She only realised how far she'd been lost when the android addressed her directly.
"So, decorations aside, how does this party compare to last year?"
Tina jolted to attention - as though being woken from a nap - and hurriedly started talking. "Well, it's better than last year, for sure…but once you’ve been to a few of these, you start to notice trends. I wanted to do a Christmas Bingo with Gav, but he was too salty that I made him come."
"What was on the Bingo?"
The officer lit up at the question, happy to divulge the details, "Well, you've got the easy wins: someone dancing on a table, someone trash-talking the Captain, and, of course, someone - or someone’s - hooking up."
Jasmine perked up at this last point, seeming genuinely intrigued. "As in pairing off? Romantically?"
"Feel like romance is a bit of a stretch", she said with an impish grin. "Unless a fondle fest in the janitor's closet is your idea of Love Actually."
"I wouldn't really know what I consider romantic. I've not had much experience."
"What?"
The exclamation came louder than Tina had intended. The VS400 visibly startled as he handed a drink to a nearby officer. Rogue droplets painted the bar, and he promptly scurried away, garbling something about a towel.
"You seem a little surprised", Jasmine said, politely downplaying the outburst. "I've only been deviant since the Revolution. That hasn't given me much time to explore the dating scene."
"Oh...right…yeah" You're blowing it, Chen. "I'm just struggling to make the connections, you know? Looking at you, it doesn't make sense."
"What do you mean?"
Tina felt any of her lingering confidence abruptly crumble away. "Well, obviously, you're really pretty, but I'm sure I'm not the first person to tell you that."
She noticed a subtle shift in the other woman's expression. The soft lips that seemed tugged into a near-perpetual smile suddenly evened out, creating a tense line.
"I was designed as a customer-facing model," the android stated, sounding oddly detached. "I've been told I'm attractive many times. Same as the other ST300s. It doesn't make me special."
Tina attempted to reassure the woman, almost like a reflex. "Hey, there's plenty of sexy people out there. It doesn't make it any less great."
The comment was not received well. Jasmine looked down at her hands, silently picking her nails. The officer cringed at her own heavy-handed wording before choosing to opt for a softer approach:
"Seriously though, it’s the little things…like how you’ve done your hair and the clothes you’ve picked out." She struggled to hide her appreciation as she said this, looking the woman up and down. "And then there's the bigger things, like the way you move, and talk, and smile. That's all you, Jas, and it's beautiful."
The android seemed genuinely touched. She glanced back up, her lips curving back into their usual smile."Thank you, Officer Chen. You have no idea how much that means to me."
"Please, call me Tina. Officer Chen was my mother".
"I didn't know your mother was an Officer."
Tina winced a bit before swiftly correcting herself. "She's a Florist. I don't know why I said that."
To her delight, Jasmine seemed to find this endearing as she erupted into warm, melodious laughter. She quickly decided that she wanted to hear much more of that sound. As well as to explore all the other sounds that the woman was capable of making.
"You're funny." The android wiped a rogue tear from her eye, careful not to smear her mascara. "I like that. It's nice."
A comfortable silence settled between them as they took some time to enjoy their drinks. Jasmine's attention had flitted back to the dancers as her passive joy seemed to turn to a quiet longing. Not one to miss the obvious cue and determined to fulfil her earlier intention, Tina tentatively opened her mouth. "Hey, did you want to -"
"Whoooooaaaaaa, mistletoe!" a voice called out, cutting her off.
Nicola Denver, a forensic analyst in her late forties, came stumbling towards them, teetering precariously on her high heels. Her smeared lipstick stretched halfway across her face, and she held a small sprig of mistletoe between her fingers. As she dangled it above their heads, Tina and Jasmine watched on, bewildered.
"Come on, ladies, 'tis Christmassss."
"Nic, how much have you had to drink?" Tina sighed, rolling her eyes in exasperation. "Get out of here."
"Not until you do it". She dangled the plant from side to side, wiggling her eyebrows in time with the movements. "You know you want to."
Tina scoffed at the gesture, playfully shoving the woman away. She then turned her attention to Jasmine to see what she was making of the shameless display. When she did so, she noted the android was staring upwards, entirely transfixed.
"...Do you not know about Mistletoe?"
Jasmine tilted her head to one side, lips pursed thoughtfully. Her LED spun yellow until a look of recognition crossed her eyes. She had just begun to open her mouth when Tina continued speaking:
"So there’s this old tradition where you hang it up in doorways or ceilings, and if two people stand under it at the same time, they have to kiss". Her excitement bubbled over, bolstered by her inebriation. She seemed entirely unaware how Jasmine’s gaze had softened affectionately whilst she spoke - before sharpening at the word ‘kiss’. "We don't actually have to do it, though. If you don't want to".
"Yes, you do", Nicola interjected. She leant further across the bar, practically draping over it. "It's the law".
"I said get out of here, woman. Don't make me arrest you."
Nicola pouted for a moment before she seemed to spot something of interest over Tina's shoulder. Blue eyes sparkled mischievously as she broke into a large, ruby-smeared grin. "I wonder if Hank might be interested".
Her gravelly voice simpered sweetly as she said the Lieutenant's name, causing Tina to shudder. "Only one way to find out", she replied, half out of self-preservation and half out of curiosity. "Go and get 'im, ya filthy animal."
She gently clapped Nicola on the shoulder, watching her pull herself up and gracelessly flounder away. It wasn't long she was propelling herself at her intended target. Hank cried out, tipping from the unexpected weight, as Connor hurriedly tried to steady him.
"I'd love to say she's better sober, but this is her on good behaviour."
"She seems nice", Jasmine said diplomatically. "Even before the Revolution, she was always so kind to me."
"Yeah, she's a doll. Can't handle her drink, though," Tina shifted her attention away from the heavily intoxicated Nicola and back to the dancefloor. She slowly cleared her throat, ready to get back on topic. "Anyway, like I was saying -"
"Should we kiss?"
The words died on her tongue, fizzling away as she looked at Jasmine in slacked-jawed bewilderment. "Hmm?"
"The mistletoe", she clarified, gesturing to the now-empty space above their heads. Her realisation caused her to deflate slightly as she lowered her hand with a bashful grin."Well, I suppose it's gone now, but we were sitting under it."
"Seriously, Jas. It's not really a rule that anyone follows." There was a loud thud in the background, followed by twin yelps of pain, suggesting that both Hank and Nicola had lost their footing. "Unless you're a horny forensics officer."
"I wouldn't mind", Jasmine said back, quicker than Tina had anticipated. "If you wanted to kiss me."
The officer felt her mind race with a myriad of things she wanted to do, ranging far beyond kissing. However, she quickly dismissed the thoughts, not wanting her salacious fantasies to detract from the current situation. Slowly, she began to lean in, subtly wetting her lips. "Okay then."
Their lips met in a tentative kiss, and the fleeting connection sent eager shivers down Tina's spine. She withdrew shortly after, not wishing to overstep any boundaries with her newly established friend. Jasmine seemed visibly disheartened by the brevity of the contact. There was a subtle dimming of her eyes as her shoulders stooped limply.
The reaction did not go unnoticed by the other woman, who made a hopeful mental note. Maybe she’s into me?
With all other distractions cleared, she could finally proceed with her half-delivered invitation. Rising from her seat, she extended her calloused palm towards Jasmine, accompanied by a playful wink. "Would you care to dance, madam?"
The words were delivered with comedic ostentation as she attempted to placate her anxiety. A little part of her still believed that she had misread the situation and was currently making a fool of herself.
She was soon proven wrong, however, as Jasmine enthusiastically nodded. Her delicate fingers wrapped themselves across her hand as she happily allowed herself to be led away from the bar.
By the time they had reached their destination, Tina was making a concerted effort to ignore the frenetic thump in her chest, focusing instead on the beat of the music. Their movements started off casual, with a respectable distance between them.
Hands remained loosely clasped as Tina stepped back and forth, guiding Jasmine's movements. She seemed happy to let her lead, fluidly matching the steps. Every time she pulled in, the android seemed to inch a bit closer.
Then, dainty digits started to stray away from her hands, tracing patterns across her forearms. There was an air of intimacy to the gesture, and as Tina looked up, she noted Jasmine was focused solely on her. Carefully studying her reactions.
Then the song was over, and a tuneless rendition of Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You' quickly took its place, blasting from the karaoke stage. Amidst the crowded room, a gruff voice loudly objected, followed by a tirade of obscenities.
"Huh, guess Gavin’s still here."
"Does he not like this song?"Jasmine asked.
"He doesn’t like anything," Tina replied before being struck with a sudden inspiration. She glanced back at Jasmine as her mouth stretched into a broad, mischievous grin. "Hey, if we really want to rile him up, I know just the song to pick. What do you say, up for some fun?"
Jasmine looked to the karaoke stage, and her eyes lit up with excitement - albeit with less nefarious intent. "It does seem like fun."
They had to wait for a while longer - as Connor was quick to secure the next spot on the stage. Tina took some solace in knowing that the development would be pissing off Gavin immensely, proven by another thunderous yell of protest. The android took position, pulling Hank with him as a notably sullen RK900 trudged along behind.
His rendition of the song was pitch-perfect, as though his voice was tuning itself autonomously to the frequencies. Whether his successor shared this skill remained a mystery, as RK900 refused to participate, save for a couple of weak-willed grunts. Hank mirrored the reluctance, but his reservations seemed to melt upon witnessing the pure joy exuding from his partner. Much to the shared dismay of everyone in the room, he began to harmonise in a loud warbling drone.
Before the mic could be snatched up by anyone else, Tina dragged Jasmine along, nodding to Connor graciously as their groups swapped places. Combing through the extensive song list, her eyes lit up in delight at one specific option: "Found it".
A jazzy piano riff boomed from the speakers, set to a sultry beat. Lyrics scrolled across the screen, prompting both women to sing along. The lightly flirtatious lyrics sounded almost pornographic, coming from Jasmine's mouth. Tina was quickly mesmerised by the movements of her soft, pink lips as she flawlessly enunciated each word.
She was so hopelessly captivated that it took her a while to notice the large eyes fixed upon her - dark and wanting. As though each flirtatious line was being sung directly to her.
Through the haze of her inebriation, Tina had a moment of clarity. Okay yeah. She's definitely into me. The song came to a close, and once they had left the stage, she quickly concluded that it was time to make her move.
"I'm, uh, gonna head to the bathroom." Tina gestured her head to the nearby toilets. "Wanna come with?"
Despite her shameless flirting during their performance, Jasmine seemed a little perplexed by this. "Tina, I'm an android. There's no reason for me to go to the -" She cut herself off, seeming to realise the hidden implications. "Yes, of course."
They entered the bathroom in silence and softly closed the door. The vibrant noise from the party became distant and muted. The air around them was charged with unresolved tension as their eyes locked onto each other.
"So…here we are," Tina began, awkwardly raising her hands. The casual front did not last long as she swiftly abandoned pretence. "I don't actually need to pee."
"I know". The other woman ran a hand down her face, delicately stroking her cheek. "Do you remember what you said about your Bingo? The part where colleagues get together?"
Tina felt her breathing hitch as she nodded in anticipation.
"I want us to be the reason it gets crossed off."
Jasmine closed the gap between them. The kiss was gentle at first, resembling their encounter at the bar, before building in intensity. Hands explored each other's bodies as soft touches quickly turned to fervent caresses. A gentle chorus of moans escaped from between their parted lips. Before they could get too lost in the moment, Tina firmly reminded herself of where they were - and how easily their actions could lend themselves to accidental voyeurism.
"We should go somewhere more private", she whispered, almost like an apology.
"I agree". Before Tina knew what was happening, she was being guided backwards until pressed against a nearby stall. She felt the taller woman deftly close the gap between them, placing a slender leg between hers. She then began to roll her hips, moving in enticing circles.
A feathery touch trailed its way down the front of Tina's blouse, teasing the buttons. While she felt an overwhelming desire to let the actions play out, her rational mind won out. With reluctance, she captured the android's wrists, gently pulling her away.
"Jas, I really like you", Tina assured, not wanting the action to be mistaken for a rejection, "but I don't want your first time to be in a communal bathroom."
"It wouldn't be my first time", Jasmine fired back, pouting her lips in protest. "I've had limited experience - that doesn't mean none."
"Doesn't matter." Tina brought one of her wrists to her lips, marking it with a kiss. "A girl like you deserves to be treated right. Let me take you home."
Bringing Jasmine back to her apartment felt like a daydream. It was surreal - to observe the stunning woman carefully slip off her heels and hang her faux fur coat next to her own weathered parka. If Tina had known she'd be expecting such refined company, she probably would have tidied. As well as hidden the polar bear slanket openly draped across her sofa.
Jasmine didn't notice as she occupied herself with the many trinkets that littered her windowsills. One in particular seemed to catch her interest, garnering a slight hum of amusement: "World's Okayest Officer". Carefully pinching the handles on the small plastic trophy, she held it above her head before dipping into a gracious courtesy.
Tina scoffed. "I'll give you three guesses who bought me that," She took their discarded shoes and placed them on a nearby rack. "...We don't have to rush into this, you know. I can get you a coffee?"
The android responded to the offer with a puzzled expression, causing Tina to shrink back in embarrassment. "Right, I guess I can't do that. Sorry"
"I don't see why we need to waste time." Jasmine set the trophy down before sauntering her way over. The gentle sway of her hips conjured up all manner of sinful promises. "How about you show me the rest of your apartment?"
"Right. Yep. Sure," Tina said, each fragmented word spoken a little too quickly. "Follow me."
She guided Jasmine out the entranceway and down a narrow corridor, drunken mind reeling, as she clumsily planned her next move. Does she really want me to show her around, or does she just want me to take her to the bedroom? It's probably the bedroom.
She guided Jasmine to one of the doors, turning the tarnished handle and gently pushing it open. As she flicked on a light, an unbed bed came into view, with a heap of unfolded laundry carelessly strewn across it.
"So yeah, this is my room -" Jasmine draped her slender arms around her shoulders, guiding her across the threshold. Tina, happy to conclude the tour, gestured vaguely to the open doorway. "- and there's everything else."
Hands were on her again, the vivaciousness of the movements sending her mind into overdrive. Never could she have guessed that the polite ST300 who would greet her at reception every morning was secretly so insatiable. Lips trailed across her neck, peppering it with kisses, interspersed by the occasional nip.
"Will you let me take off your shirt now?"
Tina felt her breath hitch, the request igniting a fire in her stomach. "Yeah, I think you're good."
The buttons of her blouse were skillfully popped before the plaid material slipped from her shoulders, falling to the ground. Jasmine raked her eyes appreciatively across her chest and the white t-shirt bra that held her breasts. She gave one of them a testing squeeze, causing Tina to shudder in appreciation. The experimental squeezing soon turned to a gentle massage as her thumb flicked over the still-clothed nipple. "Can I take this off?"
"Please", Tina gasped, feeling excitement pool between her legs.
Arms wrapped around her back as surprisingly adept fingers released the clasps of her bra. The off-white material fell to the floor, joining her blouse, as Jasmine cupped the now-exposed skin, softly massaging it.
"It seems a little unfair that you're still dressed", Tina joked, her laughter trembling in response to the movements. She reached a hand forward and brushed her fingers along the front of Jasmine's chest.
The android pulled back with what appeared to be a subtle flicker of hesitation. A sobering realisation hit the officer. Jasmine wasn't a pleasure model. She didn't possess intimate anatomy. The human had inadvertently called attention to this, no doubt making the woman feel deeply uncomfortable. "I'm really sorry, you don't have to if it makes you -"
Then, Jasmine reached down, finding the hem of her satin dress, before deftly pulling up. Tina could feel the excited quivers of her arousal mount in intensity as she was greeted with an expanse of smooth, olive-toned skin, with only a lacey set of underwear preserving her modesty. Through the sheer material, she could see the distinct outline of nipples, suggesting that Jasmine was more anatomically correct than she initially anticipated.
"I've had upgrades", the android explained, as though it were inconsequential. "Would you like to see?"
Of all the questions Tina had been asked in her lifetime, the answer to this one seemed the most obvious. "Yes, please."
The heated fondling resumed as their lips moved in increasingly frenzied motions. Tina began to fumble with the delicate lingerie. As pretty as it was, she quickly concluded it belonged elsewhere - on the floor. The bra silently fell to the ground, joining the growing pile of clothing. With a blind sweep of her arm, Tina cleared a space on the bed. She did not wish to detract her attention from Jasmine for a second longer than she needed.
Sitting together on the edge of the bed, Tina began to pepper kisses along the expanse of her slender neck before moving down to her collarbone. The trail of her lips descended lower before finding one of her nipples and taking it indulgently into her mouth.
The android arched her back in response, and Tina could see a faint glow of red cascade across her face. It was far from her subject of focus as she continued to run circles with her tongue across the sensitive bud.
Jasmine panted her name through pleading gasps, accentuated by a faint crackle of static. It was desperately arousing to hear how much the android was coming undone. She gently cupped the neglected breast, rolling the nipple between her fingers.
"T-Tina…" She felt a hand stroke itself against her own. It was guided away from the breast and down the expanse of Jasmine’s soft, heaving chest - towards her navel. It was then encouraged further until her fingers gently grazed her clothed arousal. "Touch me."
The request did not need to be repeated as the officer carefully hooked her fingers beneath the lacy material, pulling them down, as she felt for her eager warmth. There was another low, static-filled moan as Jasmine allowed herself to flop back, indulging in the touch. After a few minutes of teasing, Tina began to inch her way down the willing body until she was kneeling on the floor beside the bed.
Lifting her partner’s legs onto her shoulders, she watched in delight as Jasmine’s LED cycled an anticipatory yellow - before she returned attention to her arousal with a delicate flick of the tongue. She explored her keenly, finding that the android was stimulated by all the same movements that a human would be.
It wasn’t long until Jasmine was reduced to a panting mess, hips bucking wantonly as she desperately sought out the contact. Tina stared up at her face, indulging in how her delicate features contorted in pleasure. Her mouth gaped open and closed, but incoherent babbles were all that escaped. These built into long, heated moans before a metallic screech tore from her throat.
Tina watched as her LED ignited like a flame before slowly returning to a steady blue. The android lay there for a moment, trembling, as her eyes twinkled from the high of release. Slowly, she sat up, a shaky hand reaching out to cup the other woman’s face.
"That was wonderful", she sighed, caressing the burning skin beneath her thumb. "Let me return the favour".
As Tina was gently coaxed back onto the covers, Jasmine eagerly switched their positions. Nestling between her legs, the android quickly unfastened the button of her jeans - before proceeding to pull down the zip with a torturous lack of urgency. She clearly knew what she was doing, smiling in satisfaction as the other woman desperately squirmed.
"You're killing me here", Tina complained before erupting into needy whines as Jasmine applied pressure with the heel of her palm.
"It makes me feel good," she replied breathily, "knowing how much you want this."
The teasing ended soon after, with Jasmine looping her fingers into the now unfastened jeans and gently pulling them down. Her underwear quickly followed as lips gently brushed themselves against her eager heat. A tongue peeked out from between them before tracing her with gentle stripes.
"Oh fuck", Tina curled into the sheets, enveloped by a wave of euphoria. "Don’t stop - Please", she begged.
Jasmine eagerly continued the movement. Wisps of brown hair tumbled loose from her braid as she continuously adjusted her pace in accordance with Tina’s vocal responses. As she approached release, her legs quivered involuntarily as her thighs drew it to cage her face.
"I’m coming", she whimpered before her voice erupted into a long, guttural moan. Jasmine continued to pleasure her through the waves of her orgasm, nails digging themselves firmly into her thighs, preventing her from wriggling free.
As the blissful sensations waned, Tina desperately struggled to catch her breath. She peered down at the other woman, who wore an innocent, doe-eyed expression that should have been illegal from her current position.
"Are you ready to go again?"
Tina’s laughter came out more like a groan as she considered the possibility she might have died and gone to Heaven. "It’s getting pretty late. How long do you wanna go for?"
"Until you need to rest - and again when you wake up, if you’ll let me."
As their passions rolled into the break of dawn, sunlight filtering through the curtains, Tina suspected this Christmas would leave her with a newfound appreciation for mistletoe.

I had an interesting convo this night. I think I'll be collecting such comments so no one says that fatherson fans can be good.
So
Tumblr media
Honestly, I would be glad if such people just unfollowed the tag.
Hank and Connor are partners and co-workers and have relationships as friends. And THAT is canon, and yes, friends can become lovers. It's in the game. And majority who? People with daddy issues or biased assholes? There are so many really silly ships and problematic ships in the fandom yet people chose to hate on most comfort and sweet characters? It is getting old.
Tumblr media
And again that stupid argument they have, the only one.
If someone's problem is a visual age gap then it is just biases, not the ship is bad. Hank doesn't see Connor this way, he himself calls Connor his partner and Connor calls Hank his friend. And people should finally learn that calling someone son means nothing special. Son is often used by older people to refer to younger people. It doesn't mean you see the other person as a son. Didn't those antis see a cop at Rose's house calls Adam a son? It doesn't make the cop Adam's dad. Literally: SPOKEN a friendly way of addressing a boy or a man who is younger than you. Nothing more. They were never a father and a son.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah, people may see them however they like, but insulting those who see them as lovers? While shipping the ships that weren't even there at the same time? And no. Hank is NOT old, Hank is 53 and Connor is an android and maybe for antis it is a surprise, but there are a lot of couples with the age gap, and it is normal. Or they are saying that older people cannot be loved, fall in love or have sex? Well, they can. It only says that the antis like this one are ageists with really odd daddy issues.
And I have the whole game to back, considering how much chemistry Hank and Connor have. Everything what I keep hearing from antis is still "son" which doesn't even prove anything😂 There is nothing wrong If two adults love each other. Even if there are age gaps.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sorry to break you, but I do not care, considering that Clancy Brown, who was Hank said Hank didn't consider Connor a son. And yeah, I believe the game, not the actors who just try to be nice to their audience. The game says they are friends or kill each other, so I have all rights to say they are f*cking😂
So what are these kids trying to prove? The game says they are friends and co-workers, and people who see them as lovers HAVE the right to see them as lovers.
And if I was shipped with such a sexy old man as Hank, I would be only happy😂. And once again, there ARE A LOT OF COUPLES with a huge age gap and it IS NORMAL if both are consensual adults. And no. HankCon is NOT wrong. HankCon particularly doesn’t hurt anyone. It’s not wrong. If anything, it is all kinds of right and love and it bridges the gap between humans and androids in the DBH universe.
Tumblr media
As well as Hank never saw him as a son. Oh, and I post on tik tok and if there are biased people, I just tell them to mind their own buisiness or get some help😂
And honestly? Personally, I think it's time for those who ship Hank and Connor as lovers to stop being nice. It's time to just tell these people to go fuck themselves. It's time to just make more content with Hank and Connor fucking (each time the antis say they are father and son especially), with Hank and Connor living happily as husbands, with Hank and Connor being crazy about each other. And the more the better.
Each opinion is valid? No. This fandom proves that all the opinions are valid if it is not HankCon.
Too much hypocrisy, too many double standards. People threaten other people because Hank and Connor love each other? Seriously? While there are more absurd problems in the world? I believed and will continue to believe that every time this happens, hankcon shippers need to ignore this, but openly shout to the whole world that HankCon is worthy of living, worthy of existing, that the world needs such couples, that this is the best pairing in the world and if the majority thinks othervise? Well, they can go fuck themselves. Maybe it's time to stop being quiet? Maybe it's time to stop tolerating such an attitude towards a really worthy ship? Maybe it's time to start screaming about how beautiful and amazing it is?

Rare-pairs Week: day 5
Summery: Day 5 of the rare-pairs week. Prompt: Spring/Summer/Autumn/Winter/PeacefulAll it takes is one little question on a perfect summer day to send Connor’s processor into overdrive.
Part: 2/3
< Previous Chapter / Next Chapter >
On Ao3 or read below.
“No.”
The word left Connor’s lips before his processor even registered it. His ears were ringing and his thirium pump beat at twice the speed it should.
“W-what?” Rupert stammered. Pain and surprise filled his expression. Things Connor never wanted to see, much less be responsible for putting there.
He couldn’t breathe.
He didn’t need to breathe. But right now he couldn’t and he…
He had to get out of there.
Choking on the barest hint of an apology, Connor pushed himself from the bed of the truck, fleeing towards where he knew the road was before Rupert could even think about following him. He called a taxi as he ran, calculating the best point to meet it along the way.
Only once he was safe inside the cab did he really stop to evaluate what had just happened.
Rupert had proposed.
He proposed.
And he had run away.
Connor rubbed at his face, then tangled his fingers in his hair. His thirium pump still pounded in his chest. Tears welled in his eyes no matter how hard he tried to hold them back. His stress levels flashed a warning in the corner of his HUD.
It was all the signs he usually experienced during a panic attack, without his usual triggers.
He employed the steps that Hank had taught him, focusing on grounding himself, taking deep deliberate breaths. He usually tried thinking about things that made him happy, but Rupert was typically one of those and that certainly wouldn’t work right now.
Still, by the time the taxi had pulled up to his house, his stress levels had at least dropped to a manageable range. Connor had not, however, been able to stop crying. So it wasn’t a surprise that Hank noticed and followed him to his room despite his mumbled assurance as he passed that he was fine.
“What’s wrong, kid?” Hank asked. It was forceful, but not unkind, much like the man himself. He sat beside where he had laid himself on his bed resting a supportive hand on his back.
He could have insisted it was nothing, lied and said he was fine again, but he knew his father would get it out of him one way or another. There was really no point in dragging it out. “Rupert proposed,” he mumbled into his pillow.
The hand on his back started to massage small circles into his syntheskin. “And… that’s a bad thing?”
The way he said it, the lack of any sort of surprise, told Connor that Hank knew Rupert was going to ask. He had likely gone to his father and asked for his blessing. And Hank had given it. Why wouldn’t he, after all?
“I thought you loved him?” Hank prompted when Connor didn’t respond.
“I do,” he confirmed as quickly as he had turned down the proposal. Of course he loved him, it wasn’t a question of love. “I love him, I do…”
The hand settled onto his shoulder. A warm, encouraging presence. “Then what’s wrong?”
Connor sat up, letting the hand on his shoulder shift into a hug. He spared a moment to look at the man. The years had etched themselves into the lines of his face. Even with how his health had improved since he had moved in, time still took its toll.
And it would only get worse.
Hank looked at him meaningfully, gentle eyes crinkling in the corners. “Is this one of those self-destructive responses?” he asked, rightfully concerned. It wasn’t as though those were uncommon. “You deserve a peaceful life, Connor. Just because you were built for chaos, doesn’t mean that’s how it’s supposed to be.”
Maybe that was a small part of it. A soft, peaceful life was foreign to his system. He had been fighting with that ever since he deviated. But that wasn’t the heart of the issue. “No,” he denied. “That’s… that’s not it.”
“It’s not,” Hank echoed, apparently not anticipating being wrong.
“I think, initially, I was just startled,” he admitted. His fingers fidgeted and he had half a mind to go get his coin. “You know I’m not fond of surprises. They tend to be… disquieting.”
Hank’s nose scrunched as though he smelled something unpleasant. “So you don’t want to marry him because he surprised you?”
“N-no, not exactly.”
“Then what?” he prompted. His voice was taking on a slightly annoyed edge and an annoyed Hank wasn’t something he really wanted to deal with.
But still, outwardly saying what was wrong…
“There are just… some things I’m not quite ready to leave behind,” he said, trying to make it sound casual.
His face scrunched again, this time in confusion. “The hell would you be leaving behind?”
Connor didn’t answer besides glancing at him in almost a guilty way. Part of him hoped Hank wouldn’t catch on, but the horrified look that washed over him was enough to assure him that wouldn’t be the case.
“Wait… Me? What the fuck-”
“You’re getting older Hank,” Connor defended, effectively cutting him off. “Someday, you might not be able to look after yourself and... How can I… I can’t leave. I don’t want to leave you.”
He had a feeling his father wouldn’t necessarily approve of his reasoning, but he didn’t expect him to be quite so upset.
“Oh hell no!” Connor was pretty sure he had never seen Hank look quite so offended. “If you don’t want to marry him because you just don’t want to? Fine, I’ll support you and shit. But there is no fuckin’ way I’m letting you skip out on being happy just because I’m getting old.”
“But Hank,” he tried to argue.
“No. No way. No fuckin’ way!”
“But-”
“First of all,” he waved a finger at him almost threateningly. “If this shit really is about me, did you ever stop and consider that I’d be fuckin’ thrilled to see my kid get married before I kick the bucket?”
Oh, he… hadn’t thought of that. “Yes, but still…”
“Secondly,” he went on, using the same finger to tap him lightly on the nose. “Who the fuck says you’d have to go anywhere?”
Connor wasn’t entirely sure how to respond to that at first. “I’d be married,” he said slowly. “Typically that would mean I’m supposed to move in with my spouse.”
His eye roll was dramatic enough he could practically hear it. “Or...” he dragged out the word like he wanted Connor to figure out what he was going to say before he completed his sentence. “He can move in with you.”
His processor felt like it was malfunctioning, but there was no error message to support that theory. “I… hadn’t thought of that,” he admitted. “Would that really be alright?”
“No, I’m just bringing it up for shits and giggles,” he said sarcastically. Hank rolled his eyes again then gave his shoulder a tight squeeze. “Come on kid. The house’ll be yours someday anyway. It makes no sense for you to move out.”
Connor hated the implications of that, but it was a bitter reality. And it wasn’t as though it was news to him that he was the primary beneficiary on Hank’s will. But as much as it made sense now that he considered it for a moment, it still wasn’t something he wanted to dwell on.
“You discussed this with Rupert already, didn’t you?” he asked rather than addressing his father’s mortality.
“Yeah, couple months ago actually,” he admitted. He scratched at his beard as though it would help him appear nonchalant. “He seemed pretty excited about the whole thing.”
His face twinged into a wince. “And… I didn’t react appropriately for that excitement.”
Hank’s kind eyes settled on him with just a dash of amusement. “I think you’ll be fine once you two talk it out. He’s gotta be used to your quirks by now.”
Part of him wanted to take offense at that, but it wasn’t as though it was without merit.
And at this point, Connor just hoped that Hank was correct that Rupert would give him another chance to accept his marriage proposal.

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love 💙
Ah! Thank you :D <3 Wow this was way harder that I thought. At first I couldn't decide, then I decided on too many, it was so hard to narrow it down, so I'm not saying these are my top five, but I love each of them <3
The One That Got Away
Pairing: Jim Kirk/Spock (TOS)
Rating: E
Words: 30k
Summary: At Starfleet academy Jim and Spock were friends (with benefits), but when Spock left to serve on the Enterprise under Captain Pike, Jim was left heartbroken. Years later Jim was given Captaincy of the Enterprise after Pike's promotion. Aboard he was reunited with his old friend, but how much had changed over the years? Could there ever be more between them, or would Spock forever be the one that got away?
~~~ I've been proud of a lot of my fics, but this one is my one of my most recent bigger fics and I'm actually in love with it. I thoroughly enjoyed writing the entire thing, and I've reread it several times because I just love it so much. I put my heart and soul into it, I did my best, and I'm so happy with it.
2. First Day
Pairing: Balthazar/Lucifer (SPN)
Rating: E
Words: 14k
Summary: It's Lu's first day at a new school as a Math teacher and he instantly falls for the French teacher, Balthazar, who has an affinity for skinny jeans and v-necks. Balthazar's ex shows up and wants to get back with Balthazar, will he go back with his ex or stay with Lu?
~~~ This is an old one of mine (which I'm intending to write a sequel for one day), and while my writing has improved significantly since this fic, I still love it. I love the rarepair, I love their dynamic, and I think the smut is hot (I should, I wrote it, right?). This is an example of me writing a fic purely for me.
3. In Search of the Sun
Pairing: Jim Kirk/Spock (AOS), Jim Kirk Prime/Spock Prime
Rating: T
Words: 7k
Summary: Spock Prime awakens from a dream about his long lost bondmate, but was it really a dream, or was it the answer to bringing his love back?
~~~ I needed a fix it so badly for the Primes cause I just have sooooo many feels about them, so I wrote out my headcanon for Spock Prime getting his Jim back, and I love it dearly. It satisfies my Primes feels so well.
4. When Fantasy Becomes Reality
Pairing: Hank/Connor (DBH)
Rating: E
Words: 8k
Summary: Connor is away helping Markus for the weekend, so Hank thinks he’s safe to do whatever he wants, including an afternoon wank. What happens if Connor comes home early though?
~~~ I'm particularly proud of this one for the way I wrote it, especially the first chapter. It wasn't exactly something I'd written before, but I had a vision, and a strong love for these characters and this ship, and I did my best, and it's one that I go back to time and again because I'm so proud of it (and because its hot AF and I enjoy reading it a lot).
5. Under the Shape of Dessert
Pairing: Greg Lestrade/Mycroft Holmes (BBC Sherlock)
Rating: T
Words: 2.5k
Summary: After his divorce Greg finds himself lonely, so John sets him up on a blind date. When Mycroft shows up at the restaurant Greg can hardly believe it.
~~~ This is one of my favourites out of both of my Under the Mistletoe series' and an unexpected one at that. I sort of struggled for an idea for this ship, and then once it came to me I needed to flesh it out, and a whole story came with it, and sometimes those are the best types of fics. I thoroughly enjoy their whole interaction too, and the way Mycroft is with Greg.
it looks good on you
Tumblr media
masterlist
pairing: connor x short!chubby!female!reader
summary: (keep in mind that this is a wip that i will finish upon request!) after the android revolution and the reuniting of connor and hank, it only became a matter of time before the two were attached by the hip; whether hank was sneaking connor into crime scenes or as connor tagged along with hank while he bar hopped. as connor dealt with his curiosity and self-discovery, his emotions only got more confusing once he met [y/n], well that is, once he laid eyes on her. you would think that he and hank now being regulars at the jazz bar and café she works at would make things easier for him, but it seems to only grow his anxiousness, and even, his frustration.
warnings: size kink, dom!connor, sub!reader, uniform kink(?), sexually frustrated connor
a/n: like i had posted previously, this is a wip that i have not been able to work on due to lacking the energy and creativity to finish it. so i will leave the decision to my fellow readers on whether or not y'all would like a part 2! so if you guys would like a part two please let me know 😁! i hope you enjoy and thank you for the support on my previous smut!
Tumblr media
it took a few months for society to recover at least a little bit after the android revolution.
protests against androids had only increased since then, many saying that the android revolution was the “resurrection of the devil”. cyberlife on the other hand had no choice but to let the deviant cases go, as the number of androids becoming deviant had increased rapidly during and after the revolution. many refunds were made to those who had immediately wanted to return androids, yet cyberlife had even requested to just let them go out, as the junkyard would only become incapable of proper cleaning at that point. cyberlife even started supplying android repair shops with extra parts, thirium, and even the more explicit parts that were originally dedicated towards eden club androids. these explicit parts were of course upon request privately.
ever since the revolution, connor really had nowhere to really go, this goes for many other androids. they had no money, clothing, shelter; so the only place connor thought of going was hank’s, as he didn’t seem to feel himself fit with markus and the others. he does not regret doing so either, as it seemed to boost hank’s mood rapidly. since then they have been inseparable, whether hank educated him on some of the best jazz songs, snuck connor into some crime scenes, or even gone bar hopping. it was a true bond.
recently both males had taken a liking to this place that had doubled as a jazz café and bar. it was android friendly which had definitely eased up connor. the owner ran the shop himself with the help of his niece.
her name was [y/n][l/n]. she was 21 and had been attending a university nearby. at least that was what connor had picked up on her. she had recently been working with her uncle as he had decided that her age was now appropriate enough to be working around alcohol. the legal drinking age was 21 after all. she had been under a few inches more than a woman’s average height and appeared more curvy. her hair framed her face in a way that almost made her appear fragile. her uniform dress reached down to her lower thighs, her short sleeves and collar outlined with a white stripe. the bottom half of her dress was pleated as her apron was tied wonderfully around her waist, defining her curves even more.
connor never identified such features actively before. hell. he’s never even spent as much time taking in the features of someone at all. when he had worked on deviant cases or looked around his surroundings it was usually a quick scan of the face and that's it. something about this woman had brought such a trance upon connor. the way she had gently moved parts of her body was such an intoxicating view. connor had no idea how to deal with these feelings of anticipation. these feelings of sublime.
hank had seemed to notice connor’s slight frustration. he had even picked on connor a few times for his obvious stares, comparing him to a lost puppy. it was hard to not notice the way he had looked at the female, you could almost see the holes his eyes dug into her, and hank wanted to put a stop to it.
-
“connor look bud. it’s really not that hard. you just gotta talk to her, that’s all; ask her how she's doing, her favorite music/food… anything like that connor. just spark up a goddamn conversation with her for fucks sake. maybe even do your work with those... new fucking parts you got or some shit.” hank had been lecturing connor for the past 30 minutes now, growing frustrated with connor’s questions as he soothed himself with hard alcohol.
“well lieutenant, if it is so easy to speak to a woman, then how come you still have not m-”.
“you better not be going where i think you’re going connor. we’re talking about you here! not me. got it!?” hank immediately grew defensive with the question, causing a small smirk to grow on connor’s face.
“got it.” connor laughed softly, excusing himself to the living room as he left hank’s grumpy rambling to the kitchen.
the android settled himself on the couch comfortably as he closed his eyes, focusing on his thoughts. for once he could not analyze what the best approach would be. he could barely put together one attempt at befriending the woman. it was almost as if he was experiencing nervousness. anxiety.
no. he was nervous. he could feel his thirium pumping through his body in a way that he felt like his system would drown. it was such an foreign feeling to him, his sensors tingling at the thought of being near her.
how she would look up at him, how she would smile softly as she speaks, how she would feel when she brushes against him, how she would feel in his hands.
he could almost feel his system overheat at the thought of the sensitive sensors in his fingers brushing over the fabric of her apron, of her dress, of her skin. the way goosebumps would grow on her skin with the cold sensation of his fingers.
would her breath hitch?
would her body tremble at the ticklish feeling?
would she let out a soft sigh once the cold left her skin?
the thought of such vulnerable reactions aroused unknown feelings in connor. even though he didn’t need to breathe he felt his chest rising and falling shakily, the weight heavy on his throat. he could feel a tightening tension grow in his pants, startled by his body’s reaction.
connor was aware of the effect arousal had on humans, but has yet to experience such a thing with his own after the installation of his new parts. the feeling of restraint caused him to grow frustrated. he glanced into the kitchen, seeing as hank had passed out on the table after a few drinks; it would have been unfortunate for hank to see him in such a state.
getting up, connor made his way to the bathroom, gently shutting the door as he made his way to the lock, twisting the small knob. he thought of the best approach to handle his tension, shaking his head out of what would seem to be embarrassment.
reaching his palm to his hardening length, he gently palmed his arousal, hips bucking into his hand. his head was thrown back as he closed his eyes, guttural, soft moans leaving his mouth.
just how would she act?
would she be obedient?
would the softness in her eyes drown with arousal as she was touched?
he unbuttoned his pants.
would she be embarrassed?
muffling her sounds with the back of her palm as she was filled with him.
fuck.
would she grow a flustered expression at the thought of being with an android?
his pants and boxer briefs were pushed down mid thigh, his hand stroking his length sloppily. the sensors in his leaking cock driving him insane.
how would she sound?
how would she whimper as she's being gripped, as bruises form on her hips?
he could feel himself throb at the thought of easily manhandling her. gripping her plush hips, her thighs. the way her angelic expression would form such lewd expressions. his system stuttered as he neared his release, getting caught up in his own “imagination”.
he could only imagine how she would look wrapped in his coat.
her uniform hiked up her thighs as he towered over her.
the scent of their arousal mixed together.
the way she'd say his name.
fuck.
connor's hips stuttered as white stripes littered his hand, the lube-like substance staining his hand. his thirium pump shakily slowed down as he cleaned himself, washing off his hands.
he glanced at himself in the mirror, taking in his expression, and gave his head a soft shake.
he really needed to settle himself, and figure out a solution, because this. this is not a solution.
— taking a liking | connor x reader ༉‧₊˚✧
Tumblr media
SCENARIO: A new RK800 robot seems to need to lend a hand in your cases. You soon seem to take a liking to the handsome android.
PAIRING: RK800!Connor X GN!Reader.
WARNINGS: Swearing.
WORD COUNT: 563.
A/N: Sorry if this isn’t the best, new writer for the Detroit Become Human fandom. I’m sure my writing will get better when i buy the game and stop watching gameplays :sob: , please enjoy this anyway!
Tumblr media
I walk into the office, looking over at Hanks desk and noticing an android standing beside him. I raise a brow, ‘Since when did we have an android working with us?’ I thought to myself before being stopped by Gavin. Fuck. Sake.
“I noticed you’ve came in a bit early than you were supposed to, something came up or were you just excited to see me?” He chuckled to himself as I pushed him away, “shut up you loser.”
I shake my head and make my way to my desk, it was besides Hanks so i could easily listen to his conversation with the android. It didn’t seem like much though, it just kept asking questions about what Hank was like.
I giggled softly and Hank turned to glare at me, “What you giggling about, l/n.”
“Oh nothing~ Just how you’re actually interacting with an android after you said you hate them?” I tease.
Hank rolls his eyes at my behaviour, the android beside him seems to have its LED glowing yellow before turning blue again. “My names Connor, I’m an android sent by CyberLife.”
“Nice to meet you, Connor from CyberLife.” I smile.
After working a few cases with Connor— and Hank, of course— I was starting to take a very big liking to the android. Of course, i knew it couldn’t reciprocate feelings, it’s an android for gods sake.
I sigh to myself, obviously being in deep thoughts before getting pulled out of them by Connor. I look up at him, his head tilted and puppy eyes activated. “Are you okay, detective?” I blush and nod, “Of course i am Connor, just was thinking of some things.”
I looked back down, studying my shoe laces as something to be distracted by while we waited for Hank to finish eating and to stop moaning like a grumpy dad. I still felt eyes on me, of course, Connor.
“Connor, what is up?” I ask as he scrunched his brows, “It seems your heart rate keeps going up every time you look at me, its beating is irregular. I can get out of your way if i’m causing you to feel unwell or uncomfy.”
“Uhm.. no, please, you’re fine. I just..” I sigh and shake my head, “Its nothing, we can forget it, shall we head back to the station?” I ask Hank as he nodded, motioning his head to the car, “you guys get in, i’m gonna throw this in the bin and we can go.”
Once i noticed we were at the station, i quickly got out and ran to the toilets, turning the sink on and wetting my face.
Connor, on the other hand, was a bit confused about what happened, sitting down on the desk opposite Hank. “Do you know what is up with detective y/n? They have been a bit distant from me and seem to be getting irregular heartbeats, almost like its skipping a beat or two. They also keep turning away from me or making small talk.” He asked softly, Hank chuckling and looking up at the robot.
“They like you, dumbass.” Connor looked away for a second, opening his mouth and whispering an ‘Oh’ while his tongue touched the side of his mouth. Well, thats something he didn’t expect but as soon as you came back, he was thinking of telling you how he feels too.
A Talk is Sometimes All You Need
Tumblr media
Man, never wrote a Dbh fic on tumblr before. Honestly, out of all the fandoms I've been in on this platform I'm surprised that I haven't well here we are.
Summary: Connor is still getting used to his deviancy, with deviancy comes emotions, with emotions comes pain.
Warnings: Depression, swearing
Pairing: Connor x Fem Reader
Connor was staring at his hands absentmindedly, memories from when he was a machine coming back. His breath was shallow, the world around him felt like it was crumbling. He felt a hand on his shoulder, jumping him out of his trance.
He turned his attention from his hands to Y/n, Y/n had been there for him since the beginning. After going to the DPD as a machine to investigate the deviant case she paired with himself and Hank. She was the only person in the beginning that was sweet to him, Hank didn't hug him until he was deviant.
"Connor, is everything all right?" she asked, her voice soft causing his heart to clench.
"I don't know what I'm feeling," he said. She sat down next to him on the couch,
Describe it."
"I feel alone, when I'm not. I feel as if I'm the only person in the world that has problems. Selfish, I know," tears started to form in the corners of his eyes. She didn't speak, placing her hand on his waiting for him to continue. "I feel tired, even though I can't physically be tired. Some days, I don't want to get out of bed. Some days, I think...wouldn't everyone around me be better off if I was gone?"
Y/n's eyes widened as she swallowed thickly, her hands started to tremble. Connor took immediate notice, his frown deepened as he stared down at her hands on his'. "I apologize if I make you upset, I don't mean to. I understand if you want me to leave," he was about to get up when her hands tightened around his. Her knuckles turning white, "Y/n?"
"Connor," her voice cracked. "Please, talk to me. Don't run away," she didn't mean to cry. She felt stupid, how could she cry at a time like this? Connor needed her and all she did was break down in his hands,
"I think you call it depression, however, there is nothing we can do. I'm not human," he continued. "Sometimes, I believe it would've been better if I were human."
"No," Y/n's voice turned firm. He looked up at her, "No, Connor. Don't say that I like you just the way you are, human or android. Neither would be better than the other."
"I'm not accepted into either, so, I think being human would be more beneficial for me."
"Connor, look at me," his shoulders tensed as her voice became hard. "Humans are so insignificant compared to androids, androids are smarter, faster, better than us. People don't like to acknowledge that but it's true. We age and die, are bodies are so fragile to the point where an injury could hurt us for the rest of our lives. For androids, you just get the part replaced and not have any further complications."
"Y/n," he started. "You know how androids think of me."
"I don't give a shit about what other androids think!" her voice softened, "Connor, you're the best thing that's ever happened to me...to hank. Without you, I don't think would've recovered, without you, I think I would still felt alone. You helped us, now it's time for us to help you. Those androids don't know shit about you, they're only judging because of your past. You were just a machine executing a program, now, you're you. That sassy Connor that pisses Gavin off, that hilarious Connor that makes me laugh on my worse days."
He stared at her, his eyes widening. He scanned her, her heart had been accelerating since she mentioned herself. "Y/n, your heart is pounding."
"I know."
"Is it something I did?"
"Absolutely not, it's me."
"What is it, are you sick?"
"No, no, I'm fine." he noticed that her cheeks were heating up, he absentmindedly placed his hand against her cheek, it was very warm against his palm. "Connor, we're going to help you. I promise," she reassured. He shifted leaning closer,
"Thank you, Y/n, for calming me down."
"I think you had a panic attack," she explained. Connor nodded in agreement. It wasn't the first time he's had one, her and/or Hank were always ready to help him when he needed it.
"Can I try something?"
"Try what?"
"I notice that when I'm close to you...your heart accelerates, am I wrong?" she bit the inside of her cheek not responding, "If you will allow me to...I would very much like to kiss you." All she did was nod as his lips pressed against hers, it was soft, he held her as if she could break at any moment. Pulling away, Y/n let out a sigh against his lips, "I'm sorry if I was stepping over any boundaries."
"Not at all," she smiled. "I wouldn't mind if you did it again, actually." He let out a soft chuckle before pressing his lips against hers once again.
Lucky Catch
Pairing: Connor x gn! Reader
Word count: 943
You loved working at the library, really. You spent every day surrounded by books, most of your patrons were respectful and interesting, and you’d been put in charge of decorating for Christmas this year. It took some late nights and a few trips to craft stores, but you were most of the way done now. All that remained was the garland, which required you to slide around on the rolling ladder, which you only half trusted when gripping it with one hand.
Amelia, an android who’d stuck around the library after the revolution, was trying to help and had even offered to climb the ladder in your place. You insisted it was fine and they settled on following just behind you with a steadying hand on the ladder and the bucket of garland settled on their hip. When a rowdy group of teens started roughhousing between the shelves and nearly knocked a cart of books over, Amelia went to handle them with a reassuring nod from you. You were sure you could manage on your own for ten minutes or so.
You were soon punished for your hubris, as you turned back to pull up another few feet of garland and the ladder groaned. In an instant, the screws and wood holding the ladder to the shelves gave way and you were sent tumbling toward the floor. You would have crashed to the hardwood with a heavy ladder crushing you were it not for the man who caught you.
In an astounding display of strength, reflexes, and coordination, a man in a suit with deep brown eyes caught you around the waist with one arm, preventing you from hitting the floor. With the other arm, he blacked the ladder from hitting you and let it clatter behind him without a scratch on you. It took you a moment to process what had just happened, as you hadn’t even been able to yelp in surprise before he was there.
“Are you alright?”
You blinked a few times and steadied yourself against the wall as he watched you curiously.
“I… I think so. No bruises or bleeding.”
An older man with graying hair came into view behind the first man and took in what must have happened.
“Do you need a seat? Or a calming beverage perhaps?”
“Connor, they’re alright. Just take a step back, give them some room.”
Connor did as the man suggested and moved two steps back, glancing down at the ladder and mess of garland, some of which had fallen from the tops of the shelf where you’d hung it.
“I’m okay, really. I should have guessed that old thing would fall, especially with me on it. The universe has an odd sense of humor.”
Connor tilted his head, unsure of what you meant by that, and you finally registered that he must be an android. After studying his face for a few seconds, a vague sense of familiarity tugged at the back of your mind. You’d seen his face somewhere before, you were sure of it. Of course, most androids had dozens of others who shared their faces, so you guessed it wasn’t that abnormal.
Amelia came back over as you moved toward the ladder and tried to thank Connor for his quick reaction. They took in the scene and immediately joined you again, setting the ladder upright against a shelf and gathering some of the fallen garland.
“So, Connor, how can I thank you for catching me? If you hadn’t been here, I’d probably have a concussion or something.”
“You had a rather high chance of sustaining a moderate to severe injury were the ladder to have fallen directly on you.” Amelia helpfully piped up as you felt your ears grow warm in embarrassment. “I warned you of the danger when we began, but you insisted on using the ladder yourself.”
“I know Amelia.”
“You should really listen to me more often, I do know what I’m talking about.”
“I know Amelia.”
The older man, whose name you still didn’t know, gave you an empathetic look, seemingly saying ‘know it alls.’ He was clearly no stranger to android risk calculation and their unconscious belief that they knew best.
“I’m just glad to have been of help. Hank often says I should strive to use my reflexes and coordination for more than chasing suspects. I’m inclined to listen, more so now than before.”
Hank, as you now knew him, threw up his hands with a muttered ‘now he listens.’ You quickly raised a hand to hide your involuntary snicker.
“Well either way, thank you.”
Amelia, always aware of your little behavioral tells, took the opportunity to pipe up again.
“Maybe if you find yourself here around six, Y/N could thank you with a visit to the cafe down the street. They have an impressive android friendly menu there.”
You both tensed up, but Hank quickly accepted for him and herded the android away with an awkward wave and a disappointed sigh as Connor asked for clarification. You turned to glare at Amelia, who simply smiled a bit and turned back to the task at hand.
“I know what you’re doing.”
“I’m not doing anything. Help me with the garland, would you?”
You grabbed a bit of garland, which you threw at the back of their head. They offered a playful glare, grabbed the offending decoration, and stuffed it into the bucket. It took another hour to hang all the garland, and you had to tell your supervisor about the broken ladder, but it was worth it. The library looked great as you left it behind that evening beside Connor.
Tumblr media
Your eyes stared out of the window as it felt like time had been dragging on slowly. You watched the entrance to the old apartment building and still no sign of the suspect coming in or out.
You and Nines had already went inside to see if the suspect was home but was no where to be found.
“It’ll be back. It’s best if we wait outside in the car Detective and then we can bring it in for questioning.”
Although the android was usually always right about these kinds of things it had felt like this time he was so wrong. It had been an hour and still nothing. You began yawning as you pulled your phone from your pocket and began to scroll through mindlessly.
Not even a minute in and your phone dinged a new text message coming in.
From: Hank
How are you and nines holding up? You guys on your way?
You looked over to the android whose eyes were too focused on the building to even notice who you were texting.
You put your focus back on the screen before typing out a response to Hank.
To: Hank
Yeah we’re fine just the suspect wasn’t home so we’re waiting around until they return.
You quickly sent the message before the three dots appeared on the screen.
From: Hank
Alright. You and him getting along by any chance?
You frowned at the text before typing out a response.
To: Hank
I’m trying to keep it as professional as possible between us. After all whether I like him being here or not, he’s my new partner.
You sent the text quickly before placing your phone back into your pocket.
“Nines, how much longer do you think this will take?” You asked him as you looked over to him. Nines frowned at your impatient question, an expression he often gave you which furthered your hatred for him.
“Detective, I feel as if you doubt me on this. Do you not believe the suspect will return home?” He asked you bot even bothering to look at you.
Now it was your turn to frown. “Truthfully I don’t, not if he knows he’s being hunted he wont return to the first place the cops will show up to.”
“That’s where you’re mistaken.” Nines said.
This was how conversation would go between the two of you. Short but filled with annoyance and subtle digs, it was annoying and quite tiring to hear complaints from either one of you to Fowler. You were trying to adjust to having the new partner but some adjustments took time.
You still would think of Connor and how even though he was programmed nearly the same as Nines, there was still something a lot more human to him underneath all those wires.
Nines was a fantastic detective, that you could not take away from him but his icy stare and cold demeanor and shortness made you not want to even attempt conversation because you knew he truly was a machine and nothing more than that.
“There it is Detective. Let’s go.” Nines said.
The two of you got out if the car making your way to the suspect who was standing in the front of his building with groceries in his hands.
“Excuse me, Joseph Clark?” You called for the man who turned to look at the two of you.
“Detroit police-“
Joseph dropped his bags quickly and began to take off. Without any hesitation Nines began chasing after the man and you followed.
Joseph would take quick turns and Nines would follow with you shouting from behind ordering the man to stop. Joseph rounded the corner and Nines followed while you ignored that path and took a different way.
Nines increased his speed as Joseph did the same. He couldn’t believe how fast this android was. Nines was the only android it knew to be of the latest technology yet this one seemed to be faster making him wonder where it was assembled.
Joseph threw down pallets behind him making Nines jump over them quickly as he turned the corner. Soon enough you emerged from another alley in front of Nines holding your gun up ready to shoot but the screams around you caused you to halt.
“What are you doing detective?! Shoot!” Nines screamed in your ear.
The gun became heavy in your hands and you let it down slowly as Joseph disappeared through the crowd of people.
“Shit…” you mumbled to yourself. The crowd dispersed quickly and you could feel Nines eyes boring a hole into the back of your head.
“You let him get away…” he grumbled.
You holstered your gun and turned to make your way back to the car when a strong grip pulled you back.
“Do you have any idea what you did? You let the suspect get away!” He scolded you and you tore from his grip. “I couldn’t take the shot! There were people around! I could’ve hit anyone!” You tried to explain your reasoning but the look on his face showed no care for it.
He shook his head, “I have a task to accomplish and that’s to bring the suspect in for questioning until we have our killer. I cannot keep failing my missions or else-“
“Or else what? Nines I cannot take a shot when we have innocent lives around it’s risky!”
“I will not be deactivated like RK800 who was incapable of doing his job-“
Without another word you slapped him hard. It may not have caused any pain for him but it was enough to catch him off guard.
“Don’t speak of him like that.” You said while pointing a finger at him. You gave him a icy stare, the tears welling in your eyes before you hurried off to the car.
***
After the two of you arrived back at the station, you said nothing to Nines. He watched you and he waited but he knew you would say nothing. He began to wonder if you and Connor had ever fought like this at work.
By the time the office was thinning out and the sun soon was down you grabbed stuff quickly making sure to say goodbye to everyone except Nines. He watched as you left, a frown upon his perfect artificial face as his LED spun yellow.
“Lieutenant Anderson.” Nines called to the old man who was sitting at his desk. Hank caught Nines gaze and sighed as he got up to see what the android wanted.
“Yes Nines?” Hank asked not sounding very enthusiastic to speak with him.
“I understand that (y/n) is not too fond of me and I’m sure no one else in the office is but I would like to get back to a more suitable environment where I could complete my work without the tension between me and Detective (y/l/n).” He told Hank. Hank crossed his arms as he pursed his lips, “Nines, although you are advanced and I have to admit, you do a damn good job, but you aren’t him.”
Nines hard features softened at Hank’s words.
“And it’s something (y/n) is having time to adjust to but you don’t understand the lost their dealing with. I suggest you ease up.” Hank left Nines to sit at his desk and contemplate as he went back over to his.
Nines did remember your first interaction together. You were obviously so angry and full of so many emotions he could still remember when you would look up to him your eyes full of anger and tears whenever you’d catch a glimpse of him.
It was hard for him to understand the love you had for the RK800. How could a human love a machine?
He had thought maybe you would be over it by now but he had misguided your feelings that you had-still have, for him.
SPEAK TO (Y/N)?
The suggestion came into his view and although he was not in the mood for chasing after you and what felt like having a deja vu moment, he decided to not fight whatever urges he was having. He got up, Hank watching him from his desk as Nines signed off his computer and left the office.
***
The first place he went to was your home but you were not home. He decided to call Gavin who told him to “piss off plastic prick” before hanging up in his face. Nines then called Hank who was not thrilled to be getting a call from him but Hank gave the name to the bar you were usually at.
Nines walked in the smell of smoke and alcohol heavily present in the air. Everyone watched as he stepped inside, completely ignoring the ‘NO ANDROIDS ALLOWED’ sign that was beside the entrance in the window. The faces around him displayed shock and anger but Nines simply gave them cold stares.
He did an ID scan until yours popped up and there you were hunched over the bar with a shot in front of you.
He sat beside you not saying anything as you chuckled, “Even when I go to a place with no androids you still manage to find me. Who ratted me out?”
“Lieutenant Anderson.” Nines said.
You scoffed as you downed the shot and placed the glass back onto the bar.
“I thought after our first interaction we would move past this Detective (Y/L/N).” Nines said with no ounce of emotion in his sentence.
The bartender filled your glass with the liquor. “We would be passed this? What? I tell you I cared for him and I’m supposed to be over him Nines? We’re supposed to be best fucking friends now? Really?” You shook your head as you grabbed the shot glass and downed it with ease, the burn becoming familiar in your throat almost like water.
“Detective, I just want the same thing that you want. A partner to work with so we can get through this case-“
“No Nines, that’s where your wrong. We don’t want the same thing because what I want is dismembered and somewhere in a recycling field. Do you not recall what you said to me today? Nines you don’t understand anything I’m going through because you lack actual human emotion.” You told him before looking back down at the bar.
Nines eyes narrowed at you as you tried to ignore him. “Detective.” He said.
You looked up at him with tears brimming your eyes. Nines features softened a little at seeing this.
You said nothing as you got up, wiping your tears quickly before pulling out money from your pocket and slamming it on the bar. You gathered your things quickly and left the bar.
The people around looked at Nines who quickly got up to go after you.
“Detective! Wait!” Nines called after you multiple times.
Finally you stopped as you turned to look at him.
“Look, if your gonna come here and tell me to suck it up I’m gonna tell you to go fuck yourself.”
Nines slowed down in front of you leaving some space between the two of you. He shook his head, “I spoke with Lieutenant Anderson.”
“God Nines now is not the fucking time to talk about this case-“
“It’s not about that…The Lieutenant told me how you felt about him…I knew how you felt of RK-Connor, as soon as I saw you lay eyes on me.” Your frown softened as you heard him say his name.
APOLOGIZE?
“I apologize for my behavior earlier…It was not my place to make a comment or any of them I have in the past. I know I don’t understand what you had with him and I don’t…I don’t want to replace him because I can’t.” Nines said.
You could feel the warm tears slide down your cheeks as he spoke.
“Thank you Nines.” You said.
Nines nodded and you tried to wipe away your tears quickly.
“I’m sorry for being so emotional it’s just…It’s a lot.” You admitted.
Nines took a step closer and wiped away your tears as he said. “From my knowledge on grief it is not easy to let go. Instead of remembering him as he is not here, remember the better memories.”
The first time you met Nines you hated him. Although after he stopped you, you thought maybe he could be different from your expectations but this time, this time you know something was off.
He was feeling something.
Nines pulled his hand away.
“Did you drive Detective?” He asked and you nodded. He held out his hand and you placed the keys in his palm. The two of you walked to your car and got inside.
Nines started the car and began to drive to your place.
After your arrival, he walked you to your front door and opened it for you.
“I do hope our relationship will improve after this Detective.” Nines said.
You looked at him, “It requires effort from both ends Nines. I will see you at the office, goodnight Nines.”
Nines said nothing to you, usually like he always did and this didn’t catch you by surprise. Sometimes even simple dialect was too much for him. You walked inside shutting the door leaving Nines on the porch.
He was conflicted.
He couldn’t understand this but somehow had the urge to comfort you.
Was this that same thing he felt before?
He decided not to stay on your porch contemplating but instead let out a sigh.
“Goodnight (y/n).” He said lowly, something he knew he should have said back to you.
He quickly got off of your porch and left you for the night.
A/N: I was thinking of making this a mini series. If you think so, comment below (:
HAUNTED
Pairing: D:BH!CONNOR x HUMAN!READER (gender neutral)
Words: 4.058
Warnings: TRIGGER WARNING! mention of suicide; odd behavior; cursing; hurt - comfort;
A/N: Another day - another request...
I really hope you like it! Thanks again for your idea.
Synopsis: You are a Detective of the DPD and had worked many cases with Hank. Until something went utterly wrong. Since then, you get haunted by your past until you see only one last way out. Luckily, Connor is there to help you.
"You know you don't have to do this.", you said serious.
Sara pulled the wire of the bug underneath her shirt before it got taped on her back, "Yes, but I want to. I have to. I owe it to my sister to do this. She shall find peace finally and like the Lieutenant said, me as her twin, I have the best chance to get this bastard. He doesn't know that she's dead. Therefore, I'm your best chance to get the information you need, Detective."
"Detective..."
"Detective."
"Detective, YLN!"
As if awakening from a deep trance like state, you focused back on reality as your name got called out. Haunted by your typical dark memories, you hadn't even noticed where you were. Slowly, you opened your eyes. The owner of the calm male voice stood on the outside of your car, next to the window of the driver seat, and looked concerned at you through the glass.
You blinked several times. The sun, which already fell through your windshield because it stood so high in the morning sky, made you blind for several moments and as you moved, you noticed your aching back and neck from sleeping in the car in an unhealthy position. Obviously, you had knocked yourself out with booze again.
"Detective YLN, my name's Connor. I'm your new partner. I'm the android sent by CyberLi- I got sent from Captain Fowler to meet you. Rather, he sent me to find you because you missed a meeting this morning. And now, he wants to see you.", Connor said and watched you. Even if he had already learned a lot about human behavior from Hank, there were still some mysteries to solve.
Like: why are you sleeping in a car in a position that harms eighty percent of your muscle tissue through soreness and lets your bones and joints burn like fire when you move?
Or: why are you drunk this early in the morning-
"Hey, tin can! Shut the fuck up!", you shouted.
Connor stared at you in shock as he realized that he had asked the questions out loud instead of just thinking about them. A habit he started with as Hank had left the DPD to retire finally, "I'm sorry, Detective. I haven't notice-"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah... what do you want, Carlos?", you asked, searching for your flask you couldn't find.
"My name's Connor, Detective. And as I said, Captain Fowl-"
"Oh, yeah... the meeting... right. Get in the car.", you ordered and even if Connor was sure that it wasn't a good idea for you to drive in the state you were, he also knew that any kind of discussion would lead to nowhere. He still knew that from his time with Hank.
**
Twenty minutes later, for a way that only took ten minutes usually, you, followed by Connor, entered the DPD which was crowded with androids, policemen and people who were complaining about some uninteresting nonsense. You made your way through all these people, trying to dodge as many colleagues as you could - but of course, one of them caught you. Like always.
"Hey, YN! This is the DPD and not some bar. You won't find any kind of booze around here."
"Just shut the fuck up, Reed! Or otherwise, I will tell everyone that you own some pair of bright pink panties- oh, upsi! My bad!", you called out, gleaming at him with a smirk. Everyone started to laugh.
Gavin stared at you with a hate-filled glance, he was fuming, "Fuck you!", he muttered.
"Oh, sweet. That's all you got, Reed?", you shot back with a grin.
But before Gavin could respond to anything, Captain Fowler stepped out of his office, "Detective YLN! In my office!"
"And? Who's laughing now?", Gavin said with a smirk and winked at you before he left the DPD to do some work.
Connor closed the door of the office behind him as you were inside. You walked over to the Captain's desk to sit down in one of the chairs but even without looking up you sensed the anger radiating from your boss. It was tangible in the air. Without asking, you took one of the fresh glasses on Fowler's desk to throw an aspirin into it. Then, you pulled out the flask you had found finally to fill the glass with a transparent liquid.
Fowler watched you, half shocked and half concerned, "What are you doing?"
"Taking an aspirin, Sir. I have a murderous headache."
"And what was in the flask if I may ask?"
"Vo- uhm... water. Just water, Sir.", you answered before you gulped down the bubbling mixture.
Fowler looked from you at Connor who also seemed to be concerned about the fact that you had mixed pharmaceuticals with alcohol before the Captain looked back at you, "Where have you been this morning? We had a meeting."
You put the empty glass back on the desk, "Oh, yeah... the meeting. I'm sorry, Sir. I was on observation and obviously, I lost track of time.", you explained, leaning back in the chair, waiting for the aspirin and ‘water’ to do its magic.
"Observation, huh? For what case? What's the file number?", Fowler asked, leaning back in his own seat, folding his hands in front of him while waiting for your answer.
"Oh, yeah... the file number. One moment, Sir-"
Fowler slammed his plane hand on the desk's surface that you were jumping in your seat, "Cut this shit, god dammit! You have no file number because you have no current case, Detective! Let me guess, Connor had found you sleeping in your car, right? How many nights had it been this time?"
You kept eye contact but you gave him no answer. You just gritted your teeth and pressed your jaws together.
Fowler sighed, "Listen, YN, you're a great Detective but since the things with Sara happened-"
"No!", you called out, jumping from your chair and stopping the Captain mid-sentence with your sudden outburst, "We won't talk about this!", you said serious before you turned around to let your glance roam through the office with all the busy people, "Alright, Sir. What's the matter with the android? Monitoring what I do and what I don't do?"
"Connor is the former partner of Hank-"
"Oh and now, Hank doesn't want to play with it anymore so you give it to the next screwed up cop you can find?", you asked, turning around to look at Connor with his fancy clothes and neat hairstyle before you looked back at the Captain.
"Hank retired two weeks ago. I thought you knew that.", Fowler said and looked even more concerned at you.
"No, I'm sorry. I didn't get invited to any funny parties nor did I got a notification. But who cares. So, the android's with me then? How long?", you asked emotionlessly.
"It's your partner now. Brief it into your cases-"
You stepped forward, aiming for the door, "Cases, Sir? What cases? You already said I have none.", you pointed out while leaving the office.
Fowler watched after you, not amused about your unpredictable behavior and the fact that you were carrying a gun.
"Sir?", Connor asked and brought the Captain back from his thoughts.
"Yeah... Listen... as you can see YN has a few problems. They used to be a good cop in the past until one of the cases they and Hank had operated went wrong. The anniversary is in two days and I fear... well...", Captain Fowler stopped himself, watching you grabbing a coffee from the kitchen.
"I will keep an eye on them.", Connor said and left the office as well.
*
Connor was surprised how carelessly you were in managing your cases - even if it were just a few. There was nothing special or difficult and yet, you weren't able to file the cases properly, "Detective, this report here, I'm not sure to which case it belongs.", Connor asked as he had read an interview of a woman who had reported her dog as missing. Added to that, the interview was part of a file about an armed theft in the heart of the city. There was no connection at all to these two cases.
Without looking up, you took a folder from your desk to hand it over to Connor, "Yeah...here. That's the case you're searching for."
Connor took the case and skimmed through the pages several times before he looked at you, frowning, "Detective, this is a file about a stolen android.", he pointed out.
"Yeah, just ... put the page in this file. I'm sure it will be right.", you said, ignoring the android's expression.
"Detective, I'm not sure-"
"Excuse me, I need some more coffee.", you cut him off, standing up to aim for the kitchen with your mug in your hands.
"And I thought Hank was challenging.", Connor whispered under his breath and shook his head while he still tried to figure out which pages were parts of which cases.
"You're a murderer, Detective! That you still think yourself as worthy enough to call yourself a cop is way out of my understanding!", a jarring, female voice echoed through the office and drew the attention of everyone to her and to the person that stood in front of her - you.
Connor craned his head to watch the scene like everyone else did. But while the attention of the others was because of curiosity and spitefulness, Connor watched you and your bodily reaction to the woman's accusations. You stood there like a timid fawn. The cockiness you presented before seemed to be gone completely. Your heart rate increased, you were shaking and your eyes became big as if you were intimidated by the woman in front of you. The woman stepped even closer and Connor watched, surprised, that you stayed where you were. Easily, you could have escaped the unknown woman and yet you stayed rooted to the spot.
"Because of you I lost both of my daughters! I already have lost the one and yet, you thought it would be fair to take the other away from me as well!", the woman screamed erratic, tears were already running down her cheeks but she was still not able to stop herself and no one else was brave enough to step into the scene, "You and your partner will pay for what you have done! You will burn in hell for that!"
"Chris! Escort Mrs. Mason into my office!", Captain Fowler ordered and stopped the woman's outburst even if it was a bit too late.
Connor saw tears building in the corners of your eyes. Quickly, your glance scanned the area but the only way you could find was the way out. You aimed for the precinct's main entrance to leave the building in a hurry. Connor followed you. He ran through the office and left the building as well but as he stepped onto the pavement you were nowhere to be seen. Like a ghost, you had vanished between all the other pedestrians.
**
Hank had just taken a new beer to watch the next half of the Detroit Gears game as someone rang his doorbell. In the penetrant way how this person used his doorbell and the way how Sumo reacted, Hank knew who the visitor was, "Connor, hey. What are you doing here? It's a bit too early to go for a walk with Sumo.", the older man said but he already saw that something else was bothering the android.
"Yeah, actually, I'm not here because of Sumo.", Connor said.
Hank let him in and Connor came straight to the point that kept him busy, "One year ago, you and Detective YLN had a case together. But something went wrong. What exactly happened? I couldn't find the case file."
Hank frowned, "Why do you ask?"
"Captain Fowler teamed me up with Detective YLN because of the anniversary of this case. He's concerned about the instability of their constitution."
Hank shook his head. He missed working with the android but he didn't miss the long-winded explanations of him. Then, suddenly, he became serious again, "Instability, huh?"
"Yes. They seem to be so unpredictable in their behavior that Captain Fowler fears something worse will happen because the anniversary would be in two days. I ... I found them this morning sleeping in their car.", Connor explained with a frown.
Hank raised his brows in surprise and at the same time, he felt worried, "YN and I, we... In the past, we worked together on some cases. Well, that changed with our last case. Lynn and Sara Mason.", he said slowly, feeling the pain stinging his heart as he remembered what had happened one year ago.
"Why couldn't I find much about it in the archives of the DPD?"
Hank stood up from the couch, walking over to the book shelf to pull something out that was hidden between his several jazz vinyl. He walked back to Connor, offering the android the case file but stopped as Connor was grabbing for it, "You just can find the basics of this case because I kept it printed. Some wounds are so deep, it's better if not everyone is able to find a tool to reopen them all over again.", he said and gave Connor the file finally.
***
The next day, Connor drove again to your place and was happy to see that you weren't sleeping in your car again. As he knocked at your door, you opened him with a smile. You had taken a shower, your hair was still damp and your clothes were all fresh and clean. Connor noticed that you weren't accompanied by the scent of alcohol and he even couldn't smell anything in your breath as you talked with him.
"I... I want to apologize, Connor. Our start yesterday wasn't the best. I'm looking forward to working with you. I'm sure we will make a great team."
Connor knew you just one day, not enough to understand a person completely, and yet he had the strange feeling of something going on that occupied his mind suddenly by the way you acted.
"Oh, can you call a taxi?", you asked while sipping on your coffee.
"What happened to your car, Detective?", Connor asked surprised while ordering the vehicle.
You smiled at him, "Oh, I sold it. I will have no use of it anymore. And please, call me YN."
To Connor's surprise, your behavior stayed kinda strange even if he couldn't say what it was exactly. You and Connor went early to the DPD. On your way in, you talked with colleagues. You joked with Chris and as Gavin entered the kitchen, you pressed a cup of coffee into the Detective's hand which left him utterly confused.
Gavin stopped Connor by stepping into his way, "Hey, tin can. Is this coffee drugged or what is going on here?"
In the way Gavin looked at Connor, the android noticed real unease, "No, Detective. The coffee is not drugged or anything. I guess others would call it 'tasty'. You can drink it.", he said but looked frowning at you. As Connor left Gavin, the green-eyed man was still sniffing suspiciously on the hot liquid as if the mug might contain acid instead of his most favorite beverage.
Connor went back to the desk opposite of yours and was surprised to see how you cleared out the different pages of the case files. Several small piles were lying in front of you while you tried to bring them into the right order and to collate them.
Later that day, Connor was puzzled as you went to the Captain to apologize to him as well as you had done it with Connor in the beginning of the day. You apologized for your behavior the day before and of all the past weeks, "I know I did a few things wrong, Captain. But I promise to change that in the future. In fact, the change will happen soon and then, everyone will be pleased with me again.", you said before you took your jacket to leave the precinct.
Connor looked at the Captain and saw on the man's face what he was thinking: strange.
‘Strange’ was the only word Connor could find to describe your work day even although you were acting practically perfect. You were nice. You had sorted your cases. You had apologized for your behavior. And yet, something was odd. Something felt wrong. Connor sensed that something was ... going on. But he couldn't put his finger on it. So, out of instinct, Connor followed you and drove to your place with a taxi.
As he knocked at your door, you opened, smiling at him and dressed in a bathrobe, "Oh, Connor, hey. What is it? I just wanted to take a bath."
Surprised, Connor looked at you. He was sure you had taken a shower this morning so there was no need to take a bath and then, he reminded himself that he still had not much knowledge about humans and their several oddities, "Yeah, I ... I just wanted to ask if everything is alright, Detective.", he said honestly.
You smiled at him, "Of course, Connor. Everything is more than alright. I just need some time to relax and tomorrow, everything will make sense to you and the others. Thanks for checking on me, that means a lot to me. Goodnight.", you said and closed the door.
Connor stared at your closed door for several moments before he stepped slowly back to walk down the hallway. Since he turned deviant, Connor's systems needed a bit longer to process information - not much, it were just seconds, but sometimes that could be more than enough.
As Connor was still connecting the different dots and hints you had spread the whole day, Hank called him, "Connor! Where are you?"
"I'm leaving YN's place. They want to take a bath. Why? What's the matter?", Connor asked as he sensed the slightly concerned undertone in Hank's voice.
"You have to go back, Connor! Go back to them! YN hates to bath!", Hank demanded worried.
Even if Connor was confused, he turned around, walking back the way to your apartment, "Hank?"
"I just got a letter from YN. It got brought by a delivery man. It's a handwritten suicide letter. Hurry and stop them!", Hank ordered.
Connor ended the call, hurried down the corridor and without knocking, he broke down the door of your apartment. Quickly, Connor ran through your small apartment, already seeing the door of your bathroom ajar. He stormed into the room and the second his eyes landed on you lying in the bathtub with the razor blade between your fingers, he was by your side, taking the blade away to throw it into a far corner before you could even cut. Slowly but demanding, Connor dragged you out of the water, took a towel and laid it around your shaking frame because you already were ice cold. Obviously, you had filled the bathtub with cold water to support a fast sleep while your blood would have drained from your body after the cut.
You were screaming and yelling for Connor to let go of you. You demanded the razor back and that he should leave your apartment but Connor ignored everything. You punched against his chest with your fists but Connor stayed unimpressed, determined to save your life. With a strong grip, he wrapped you into the towel and also laid the bathrobe around your shoulders before he guided you out of the bathroom. You were still struggling in Connor's arms to get free. All you wanted was to end what you had started. Desperate, hot tears were running down your cheeks as you were crying violently about the fact that you were still alive. Alive and alone with the memories which were still haunting you like mean demons.
Connor placed you on the couch, sitting next to you and wrapping his arms around your frame to give you even more support and comfort while you cried against his chest, "Please, just let me die...", you cried out between two heavy sobs.
"No, Detective. I have to refuse your request."
"Cut this 'Detective' shit. Just call me YN, god damnit.", you whimpered helplessly because now, everything was just worse than you had expected. You had planned everything and yet, the android was there to destroy your neatly made plans, "What are you even doing here, Connor?"
"Hank received your letter and called me right on time."
You leant closer against Connor's chest with closed eyes, seeking the android’s presence while cursing about yourself, "Hell, the letter. I should have changed the delivery time to a later one. Then, everything would be over. All the pain. All the guilt. All the haunting.", you breathed with a sad voice.
Connor tightened the embrace around you even more, "It's about Sara Mason and her sister, isn't it?", he whispered softly, placing his chin on top of your head to enclose you even more.
You nodded, not surprised that Connor already knew it, "Yeah... it's my fault that Sara died. It's my fault that her mother lost both daughters.", you cried out, clawing into Connor's white shirt with your fingers.
"Well, I read the file. Sara came up with the idea to get bugged and to infiltrate the drug dealer who had killed her sister Lynn. I mean, the idea was good. It was just bad luck that the dealer already knew about Lynn's death and looked right through the façade you and Hank had planned.", Connor said softly. To calm you even more, he stroked soothingly over your back with his hands.
You leant back to look into the android's face and for the first time, you noticed the incredibly intense, brown color of his soft eyes, "Y-you don't understand. Not even Hank knew that but Sara didn't come up with the idea to get bugged on her own. I dropped this idea as I was alone with her and manipulated her to think it was her own idea. I mean, how evil can someone be to do this, huh?", you asked, closing your eyes about this painful memory.
Connor cupped your face, knowing that humans needed physical contact to feel secure and safe and he wanted to provide you both as well as he could. He was glad to see that you opened your eyes again and that you stayed where you were, "Listen, neither you nor Hank nor someone else could have known every single possibility in this case. The idea was good. The Captain said the same in his official statement. But ... Look, kid, sometimes bad things happen, and you can't do anything about it.", he said softly.
Through a sob of new tears because Connor was the first for a very long time that was caring about you this much, you chuckled low, "Have you... did you just quote the Lion King to cheer me up?"
Connor looked slightly caught with a sheepishly smile playing around his lips, "Yeah... Hank said I should improve my knowledge about pop culture. I binge watched all the Disney movies I could find last week. I thought this quote was suitable... Or did I have done it wrong?"
You chuckled a bit more about his innocence and strong will to help you, "No, it was pretty good. Thanks for... you know... thanks for being here with me.", you whispered low, feeling your cheeks reddening.
Connor leant back on your couch, bringing you close to his chest so you could snuggle against him, "I'm your partner now, YN. And partners are looking out for each other. You can count on me no matter what it is.", he said softly and after five minutes where he just stroked comforting over your back, he noticed your even breathing that told him that you had fallen asleep. Hank called and without making too much noise, Connor briefed his former partner that you were alright.
You were still alive. You still had a long way to go to leave your haunting ghosts behind but Connor was sure you would make it. You were strong enough to do it - and he would be by your side to support you as promised.
The tree branches scraped against your skin as you ran through the woods. All battered and bruised. Finding it difficult to see out of your left eye it was swollen. You found it hard to breathe as well. Your lungs felt like they were on fire, but you kept pushing yourself to run. You couldn’t stop now, you had to run.
Hope sparked inside of you as you saw a barn. Quickly running over to the barn as best as you could.
Slipping under the wooden fence. Sucking in a deep breath, pain rippled through your body. but you pushed through. Walking up to the door of the barn. Your hand resting on the door, sliding it open.
You quickly entered the barn. Closing the door behind you. The barn smelled like manure, animals, feed, silage, and wood all mixed together. You made your way over to a hay bale, sitting down on it. You carefully laid down. The barn wasn’t occupied by animals. Your eyes slowly closed, as you winced in pain. Your head was killing you. Every limp in your body felt like it was on fire. Your vision slowly fading into black…
“Dad, I’m sure the animals will be fine,” The daughter of the elderly man huffed out.
“Just want to check on them, they are a new herd of cattle I want to see how they are settling in,” He spoke. Getting up. Walking over to the front door. Taking his coat off the hook near the door. He slipped it on. Slipping into his gumboots. He grabbed the lantern. Grabbing his matches out of his pocket and lighting the lantern. He put the match out. Putting it down on the hallway table. Grabbing his rifle that was in the corner. Slinging the armband that was attached to the rifle over his shoulder.
“They were fine ten minutes ago when you checked on them again,” His daughter sighed. As her father opened the door. Exiting the farmhouse. Ignoring his daughter.
He held the lantern up in front of him. The fire lightening his path. Eyebrows furrowing as he heard his animals make sounds of distress.
“It’s okay,” He reassured them. Not that it worked. He then proceeds to locate what got them so spooked.
Eyes widening in slight fear, as he saw a coyote stalking outside of his barn. He put the lantern down, so he could fire his rifle.
He aimed at the coyote. Pulling the trigger. The sound of the gun breaking through the air. This seemed to cause his daughter to panic rushing out of the house. While her father picked up the lantern. Running over to the coyote to see if he got it. The coyote quickly ran away, fleeing the scene without a trace of a bullet wound.
The elderly man let out a sigh. Looking at the barn.
His eyes widen as he saw a bloody handprint smudged on the door. Taking slow steps he walked to the door. Hand pressing against the door, he slides it open. Heart pounding faster.
The moonlight lit up the barn. What he saw next made his heart speed up. He clutched his chest with his hand, dropping the lantern in the process. Causing it to fall on the floor. Breaking the glass. The fire spread across the hay scatted on the ground, as the elderly man fell to his knees, holding his chest tightly as he had a heart attack. The image of a bloody, beaten-up woman laying on his hay bale was too much for him.
“DAD,” His daughter screamed as she saw the barn light up with fire. She quickly sprinted back to the house. Tearing the front door open. Rushing over to the landline. She picked the cordless phone up. Quickly dialing 9-1-1. Holding the phone up to her ear, rushing back outside.
“9-1-1, what’s your emergency?” The emergency operator spoke.
“HELP ME! My father, he is in the barn and it’s on fire,” She gasped out. Her voice was full of panic.
“What’s your address?” the emergency operator asked. Typing away on a keyboard.
“I… Oh my god,” The women gasped out, as the fire grew larger. She was too shocked to speak. The emergency operator quickly tracked the women’s location. Informing the fire department and the ambulance department.
“Ma’am, help is on the way,” The emergency operator spoke. Only to hear the sound of the phone dropping and a loud cry…
The smell of smoke invaded your nostrils, waking you up. Your eyes widen in panic as you saw fire. You quickly got off the hay bale, rushing to find a way out of this barn, unfortunately, you inhaled too much smoke, making you collapse to the ground…
The sound of the fire siren, as well as an ambulance siren, got louder as they drove up the driveway. The fire rig stopping near the barn. While the ambulance stopped a bit behind the fire truck.
The daughter of the elderly man rushed over to them.
Kyle and Bobby rushed out of the rig. Putting their oxygen mask on and tanks on their backs, before rushing into the building. While the other firefighters rolled the hose out, turning the nozzle on. releasing water.
Bobby and Kyle saw an elderly man laying on the ground. Bobby checked his pulse. Kyle looked around the barn, seeing another figure.
“Bobby there’s another one in here,” Kyle spoke. Pointing at a figure.
“I’ll get him out, and you go get her,” Bobby ordered. Kyle nodded. Carefully walking over to the figure. While Bobby picked the guy up, pulling him out of the building.
Kyle gasped as he took in the figure. It was a woman. Her face was littered with scratches. Not only was her face littered with scratches but there was blood on her face. he put two and two together, they were keeping this woman hostage.
He quickly picked her up carefully, walking out of the building. Glaring at the woman and the guy in the stretcher. Bobby looked up.
“Oh my god,” Bobby gasped out.
The woman looked up from her father. The other paramedic saw Kyle take another victim out. Rushing over to the back of the ambulance van, taking out another stretcher.
“Where you holding her captive?” Kyle spat out. As the other paramedic bought the stretcher over to Kyle. Kyle placed the woman delicately down on the stretcher. While the other paramedic checked the women.
“What?” The daughter of the elderly guy gasped out.
“She’s going to have to go to the hospital, she has a collapsed lung, among other things,” The paramedic spoke. The other paramedic nodded.
Both of them taking you and the elderly man to the back of the ambulance van. Kyle following.
“I’ve never seen that woman in my life, let alone knew she was in the barn,” The women gasped out. Holding her father’s hand,
“Well, then your father knew, maybe tried to hide the evidence of his crime,” Kyle spat out. as they loaded you in then the elderly man. The women hopping in a well.
“I’m not leaving you alone with her,” Kyle growled out. hopping into the back of the ambulance van as well. One of the paramedics hopped in, while the other one shut the doors. Going over to the driver’s side. Opening the door and getting in. they closed the door. Starting the ambulance van, then switching the siren on as they speed off to the hospital. Pressing their foot hard on the pedal. All the while Kyle glared at the women. Praying the woman he thought that they abused was okay…
Kyle felt relief wash over him as the ambulance stopped in the emergency parking space.
The other paramedic rushing out of the driver’s side, opening the doors. Both of them taking out the stretchers.
“You are going to pay for this,” Kyle growled out before he exited the back of the ambulance van…
 • ━━━━━ ••●•• ━━━━━ ••
Kyle could hear his heart beating as every second went by. His chest felt heavy with anxiety, as he waited for a doctor or nurse to tell him the condition of the woman he saved. Or at least give him some sort of update. He had been waiting in the waiting room for hours.
Other people who were waiting as well, came and left.
He should have been at work, but he couldn't. He had to know the condition of the woman he saved, or at least her name.
Kyle heard footsteps approaching. Relief washed over him. thinking it was a doctor coming to inform him of the condition of the woman he saved, when he looked up it was his friend Adam, who happened to be a detective. Coming over to him.
“Hey,” Kyle spoke, sitting up straighter. As Adam stood in front of him.
“Heard you made quite a scene,” Adam spoke. Arching an eyebrow.
“Well, you would to if you found a battered and bruised woman in a barn, that was set ablaze, for all I know he was trying to cover his crime up,” Kyle grumbled out. Adam sat beside him.
“You don’t know that Mr. William isn’t that type of person,” Adam Sighed.
“People surprise you, Adam, you should know that,” Kyle grumbled. Adam just raised his eyebrow.
“Look Kyle I get you want to be a hero but you can't accuse someone especially a burn victim of abusing a woman, we haven’t heard the entire story yet,” Adam sighed.
“Like I said before people surprise you,” Kyle grumbled. Adam let out a long sigh. Resting his hand on Kyle's shoulder and squeezing it.
“Let the evidenced do the talking. Just stay out of it,” Adam warned. Letting go of Kyle’s shoulder and getting up. Leaving Kyle to glare at his back as he walked to the nurse's station. Asking the nurse where the room of the woman Kyle found was located in. The nurse quickly gave Adam the number for the room. Giving him a flirty smile. Adam smirked at her. Sending a wink her way as he walked off. walking to the room.
Adam pushed the door open. Smirking as he saw Doctor Rhodes.
“Connor,” Adam smirked. as he took a step forward. His eyes looking at the woman in the bed. She looked awful. There was a bandage wrapped around her head. A scatter of scratches on her face. her lip was busted, her left arm was in a sling, and her left eye was swollen.
“Cole,” Connor responded not looking up from the tablet. It was no secret Adam and Connor butted heads. Connor wasn’t Adam’s biggest fan, and Adam wasn’t Connor’s biggest fan either.
“So, how’s the patient? Is she going to wake up soon, hopefully sometime soon?” Adam asked. Making Connor’s jaw tighten. “She’s been through a lot, I put her induced coma, she’s lucky she’s even alive, she has a collapsed lung, broken arm, head trauma, not to mention…” Connor listed off only to get cut off by an impatient Adam.
“Yeah, yeah, just give her something to wake her up, so I can get answers out of her, then you can put her back in an induce comma,” Adam grumbled. Looking at Connor intensely. Connor’s jaw ticked.
Connor let out an annoyed huff. Putting the tablet down. giving Adam his full attention. His eyes were lit with fury. Blood boiling.
“Get out,” Connor shouted. Making Adam smirk.
“She’s a suspect,” Adam smirked. riling Connor up.
“She’s a victim, and she’s my patient, I’m not waking her up so you can grill her, come back when she actually wakes up,” Connor shouted. Nostrils flaring.
“Well, are you going to give me a set date on when you are going to take her out of the comma?” Adam asked.
“I’ll get one of the nurses to inform you when she wakes up on her own accord, till now leave,” Connor growled. Making  Adam smirk. He turned around walking out of the room.
Connor let out a sigh. Walking over to you. His face edged with worry. He took a hold of your hand. His thumb caressing the back of your hand. His other hand went to your wrist, tracing the tattoo on your wrist. he knew that tattoo, he was there when you got it. Connor sat down on your bed beside you. Eyes filling with worry.
“Oh, y/n, what happened to you?” He sighed.
“I should have never left Chicago,” He spoke again, with so much sadness in his voice….
 • ━━━━━ ••●•• ━━━━━ ••
Connor starred at you intently. He had a feeling your ex might have caused this. Connor quickly let go of your hand when he heard the door to your room open. He quickly stood up. Pretending to look t the tablet. As a male nurse named Rhys walked in. Rhys smiled at him.
“How’s the patient?” Rhys asked. Going over to you.
Connor let out a small sigh. Looking at Rhys.
“Pretty much the same,” Connor replied.
“If it’s any consolation, I think you made the right choice putting her in an induced coma,”  Rhys spoke. Checking the wires that were connected to you.
“Let me guess Adam was complaining about it when he walked out?” Connor questioned. Making Rhys chuckle.
“Yep,” Rhys chuckled.
“Oh, Kyle is still in the waiting room, did you want me to inform him?” Rhys asked. Looking at Connor.
“No, it’s okay I will do it,” Connor responded. Making Rhys smile. Connor smiled at Rhys. Giving you one last longing glance. Before walking out of your room, and over to the waiting room.
Connor spotted Kyle. Making him let out a small sigh.
Connor smiled at Kyle as he made his way over to him.
“Kyle,” Connor greeted. Standing in front of Kyle.
“Is she okay? Is she awake?” Kyle asked frantically.
“She suffered a lot of brain trauma and I had to put her in an induced coma,” Connor replied.
Kyle looked down in defeat. Feeling like the whole world was closing around him.
“She’s in good hands,” Connor spoke. Giving Kyle a reassuring smile.
“Did you at least find out her name?” Kyle asked. Making Connor suck in a deep breath.
He knew who you were, but he just didn’t know if he should tell Kyle your name. The problem was Kyle was friends with Adam, who he hated, and who was a cop. Connor had a gut feeling your ex-boyfriend, who happened to be a cop did this to you.
“We don’t know, whoever hurt her removed her fingertips, and tried to make her unrecognizable,” Connor spoke. Making Kyle frown.
“You can see her if you want,” Connor spoke again. Seeing Kyle look deflated.
Kyle lifted his head. Eyes brightening with happiness. He got up.
“Thank you,” Kyle beamed. Connor gave Kyle a small smile.
Connor guided Kyle to your room. Opening the door for Kyle.
Kyle rushed in. Connor followed behind Kyle. Closing the door. Watching Kyle closely.
Kyle looked at you with a pained expression. Walking over to you. Taking in your appearance. It was all too overwhelming. Tears collected in his eyes.
He took a huge gulp before speaking.
“Don’t worry, my friend is a cop, and he will find out who hurt you,” Kyle promised you.
“Or side with her ex,” Connor thought to himself.
Kyle was about to sit down when his phone let out a ping. He quickly fished it out of his pocket. Looking at the phone screen. He had to go back to work. He looked at you then at the screen. Letting out a defeated sigh.
“Can I visit her again after my shift ends?” Kyle asked as he got up.
“Sure,” Connor replied. Smiling at Kyle. Kyle gave you one last final glance before walking out of the room reluctantly….
Adam parked his car next to Roddy’s car. Turning the car off and putting it in park. He put the hand brake up. Taking the car keys out of the ignition. Adam opened the door, stepping out of his car.
Roddy quickly walked up to him. Handing him some disposable gloves.
“Any evidence bagged yet?” Adam asked. As the two of them walked over to the burnt-down barn.
“No, everything is burnt,” Roddy spoke. Adam let out a grunt of annoyance.
He was about to speak, but the sound of a car engine coming towards them. Made him turn his attention towards the noise.
Adam saw Kyle get out of a taxi. Giving the taxi driver a couple of notes through the window.
Bobby quickly walked up to Kyle. Greeting Kyle.
“Hey man, how is she?” Bobby asked. Giving Kyle a big hug.
“In a coma,” Kyle responded. As Bobby pulled away.
“I’m sure she will pull through,” Bobby spoke. Putting his hand on Kyle’s shoulder.
Whatever Kyle was about to say was interrupted by the sound of someone talking.
“I found something,” Another cop spoke. Near the wooden fence.
Roddy, Adam, Bobby, and Kyle quickly rushed over.
The cop pointed at the fence. Adam smirked as he saw blood on the wooden fence. He felt confident it was the mystery woman that was lying in the hospital and that Mr. William didn’t hold the woman captive as Kyle claimed.
Adam turned to Kyle with a smug look. Making Kyle narrow his eyes slightly. Bobby and Roddy looked back and forth between Adam and Kyle.
“There's your evidence that Mr. William didn’t hold the woman hostage,” Adam spoke smugly. Making Kyle’s jaw clench slightly.
Adam turned his attention back to the cop.
“Bag it,” He spoke before walking off. Kyle glared at the back of Adam’s head.
It could be the blood of the woman he rescued or an injured animal, he thought to himself…
Chapter Text
 • ━━━━━ ••●•• ━━━━━ ••
It’s been two weeks since they found a bloody and bruised woman in Mr. William's barn.
Adam exhausted all leads. The blood they found wasn’t human, it was animal blood.
Adam tapped his fingers impatiently on his desk. Looking at the results from the blood they found two weeks ago. He put the piece of paper down. Letting out a frustrated groan.
“How about we get a warrant or something so we can get her blood?” Roddy suggested. Looking up from the PC screen.
“I have a better idea, we wake her up, grill her till she breaks,” Adam suggested. Making Roddy look at him with concern.
“Are you sure?” Roddy asked. Voice laced with concern.
“Unless you want an innocent man wrongly accused, we have no other choice, plus I think it’s time for her to wake up, I’m sure she would remember now, she’s been in a coma for two weeks,”
“How do you know she will remain; they say she has had brain trauma,” Roddy spoke.
“Because it is our only option,” Adam grumbled. Getting up and grabbing his coat. Roddy let out a sigh. Getting up and following Adam…
 Kyle smiled at the barista as she handed him a water bottle and a sandwich he ordered. He turned around, only to bump into a woman.
“Sorry,” Kyle apologized. Giving her a small smile. His smile dropped as he realized who it was. It was Mr. Williams, daughter.
“You should be, because of you everyone in this town thinks my father hurt that woman, that he held her hostage, that he tortured her,” She growled out. Tears collecting in her eyes. She looked like she hadn’t slept in weeks. Or if she, did it must have been a few hours. She had dark circles underneath her eyes.
“Well, what else was I supposed to think, she was injured,”  Kyle snapped.
“Are you just being petty because I broke up with you?” She growled out. Through clenched teeth.
“That has nothing to do with it,” Kyle snapped. Glaring at her.
“Well, I hope you are proud of yourself, my father literally had a heart attack,” She snapped. Spinning on her heel and walking away…
 Adam walked into the hospital. Looking around the hospital in search of Connor. Adam walked over to the nurse's station. Smirking as he saw it was the nurse that always flirts with him. Roddy followed behind him.
“Where’s Doctor Rhodes?” Adam asked her.
“In surgery why?” She asked. Batting her eyelashes.
“No reason,” Adam smirked. Giving her a charming smile before turning around and walking to the unknown woman’s room.
Adam looked around before entering the room. Seeing if the coast was clear. Roddy followed behind him feeling slightly unsure if they should do this. He tried to talk Adam out of it on the way to the hospital, but Adam didn’t listen.
Adam took out a needle, with a liquid substance.
“Where did you get that from?” Roddy asked. Eyes widen in shock.
“A friend,” Adam responded. Walking over to you. He took the cap off the needle. Putting the needle into your cannula.
Adam smirked as he put the liquid substance into you. Roddy felt his heart rate quicken. Gulping as he felt like this was all a bad idea.
Your eyes opened wide. Looking around the room to see two male figures looking at you. You saw two figures standing there. Eyes widen in fear as you saw a police badge on their uniforms. Your mind quickly flashed to the nightmares you were having. The guy who beat you up had a badge. The sound of the machine monitor beeped loudly and rapidly. Roddy felt worried thinking it was the liquid substance that was affecting you. Maybe you were having an allergic reaction…
 • ━━━━━ ••●•• ━━━━━ ••
 Adam got up in your face. Making you gulp hard.
“Do you remember what happened to you?” Adam demanded. Making you move your head to the side. Adam’s eyes sparkled dangerously. He grabbed your chin hard. Roughly pulling your head to face him. The sound of the machine beeped faster making Roddy panic.
“Dude, just leave her alone,” Roddy sighed. Grabbing Adam’s shoulder and trying to pull him away. But Adam fought against him. Shrugging him off.
You tried to reach out to the button. But Adam grabbed your hand tightly. Making you whimper. Tears gathered in your eyes. As your heart rate speed up the machine beeped frantically.
Was he going to hurt you like that other cop was doing in those dreams you had?
“Tell me,” Adam demanded.
“I don’t remember,” You weakly gasped out. voice trembling with fear.
“Adam,” Roddy warned. Feeling worried about your safety. Yes, they needed answers. But scaring you to answer wasn’t the right solution.
“What the hell do you think you are doing?” Connor shouted. Looking at Adam and Roddy with fury in his eyes, but mainly Adam.
“Just getting answers, I mean it’s been two weeks since she came here, I want to know who our mystery woman is, don’t you?” Adam smugly spoke. Making Connor’s blood boil. While Roddy just shook his head disapprovingly.
“Are you insane, she has had a traumatic brain injury, she needs rest,” Connor growled out. Taking a step closer to you. Adam let go of you. making your heart rate decrease. You cast your gaze down.
“She woke up on her own,” Adam spoke. Connor gave Adam a sarcastic smile. Not believing a word he just spoke. Roddy shook his head no.
“I’m sure she did. Get out,” Connor spat out. Making Adam smirk smugly.
“I’ll find answers, and if you get in the way again I won’t hesitate in charging you,” Adam threatened. Glaring at Connor. Connor glared back at him.
Adam broke eye contact smirking.
“Come on, Roddy, see you later sweetheart,” Adam spoke sweetly. Patting your hair. Making you flinch.
Adam smirked at Connor as Roddy and he walked out of the door.
A whimper caught Connor’s attention.
“Are you okay?” He asked. Eyes full of worry. He quickly checked on you.
You looked at him intensely. Studying his features. He was gorgeous. You felt your breath hitch as he leaned closer. Shining his torch in your eyes.
He was about to speak but you cut him. Something about him made you want to tell him the reoccurring dream you kept having while sleeping. Well, it was more like a nightmare. Like he would keep you safe. that you could trust him. Heck, you would tell him your darkest secrets if you could remember them.
“I think I know who hurt me… when I was asleep, I kept having these vivid images of this guy attacking me. He hurt me so cruelly. And I saw a police badge,” You confessed. Your voice was above a whisper.
Connor looked at you with a heartbroken expression. Making your forehead crease with confusion. Why was he looking at you like that?
He grabbed your hand. Sitting down on the bed. His eyes gathering with tears.
“I don’t want to freak you out too much, but…” Connor spoke. Taking a deep breath before he spoke again.
“I know you; I know who did this to you,” He confessed. Making your breath hitch. Your mouth opening in shock. Eyes locked onto his.
“What’s my name?” You barely gasped out but he heard you somehow.
“Y/n l/n,” He responded.
“I’ll tell you anything, whatever you want to know I will tell you,” Connor spoke, looking at you with concern in his eyes…
 • ━━━━━ ••●•• ━━━━━ ••
You looked at Connor in shock. Your brain processing the words Connor spoke. Connor looked at you with a worried expression. While you looked down at the sheets.
You looked up at him. Parting your lips.
“Tell me more,” You gasped out. Heart beating faster.
Connor let out a sigh. Inching closer to you.
“You are from Chicago,” Connor started to say. Smiling slightly.
“You have two brothers, Will and Jay. Jay is actually your twin,” Connor told you.
“Twin? I’m a twin,” You gasped out in disbelief. Making Connor smile.
“Not identical though,” Connor chuckled. As a small smile graced your lips.
“You did have a boyfriend, but you dumped him, then got together with another man, which no one knows what he looks like, other than his name, which is Roman,” Connor spoke again.
“Oh, do you think he did this to me?” You asked. Heart plummeting as you waited for his response.
Connor let out a sigh. Casting his eyes down. his thumb absently caressing his thumb across the tattoo on your wrist. your eyes traveled down to where his thumb was. Sparks igniting in your body at his touch.
“ I think he did, I wouldn’t put it past him,” Connor finally spoke. Looking up at you. making your breath hitch.
“But the guy I saw in my dreams had a badge,” You gasped out.
“Yeah, your ex was a cop, wait you had dreams about what happened to you?” Connor spoke.
“Yeah,” You spoke quietly. Connor looked at you with concerned eyes.
“Your brother is a detective, didn’t like your ex-boyfriend, thought he was a corrupt cop,” Connor told you.
“Will or Jay?” You asked.
“Jay, Will is a doctor, and well you are a nurse, Will also hated your ex as well,” Connor replied. As you looked at him. Hanging on his every word.
You didn’t want to hear more about your abusive ex, so you changed the subject.
“What about us? How do we know each other?” You asked. This question seemed to throw Connor off guard. He looked at you with wide eyes. A shocked expression on his face. You raised your eyebrow at him.  Wanting to know why he had that reaction.
It made you want to know the answer even more. Obliviously something went down between the two of you. Since he got nervous under your gaze. He looked away, delaying his response.
“I didn’t ask how you are feeling?” Connor asked. Avoiding your question by asking a question of his own.
This made you want to know even more.
“I’m fine, but you didn’t answer my question,” You spoke.
Connor ignored the last word you spoke. Taking his stethoscope from around his neck. He put the earplugs in his ear. Grabbing hold of the bell. Bringing it towards your chest. You grabbed his wrist, stopping him. Connor’s breath hitched at the contact of your skin on his.
He took a deep breath before speaking. Avoiding eye contact.
“We were friends… best friends,” Connor spoke. You gave him a confused look at how he was reacting. And how long it took him to reply.
You opened your mouth to speak, but Connor beat you to it.
“It’s complicated, we are best friends, but we had a friend with benefits kind of relationship as well, then it went downhill, then I left,” Connor spoke. Still avoiding your gaze. He looked sad.
“Because of me?” You asked. Voice-breaking. This made Connor finally look at you.
“No,” He responded.
“It wasn’t your fault, I didn’t leave because of you,” Connor spoke again. Grabbing a hold of your hand. Both of you gazing into each other’s eyes.
Just as you were about to speak the door opened. Making Connor get up. He stood up. Looking professional, as the nurse made her way into your room.
She arched her eyebrow at Connor.
“Just checking on our mystery patient,” Connor spoke.
“Your up,” She spoke. Directing her gaze at you, then back at Connor when he spoke.
“No thanks to Cole,” Connor grumbled. The nurse gave a forced smile. You could tell it didn’t reach her eyes.
“Doctor Cooper wants you for a consultant on one of his cases,” She spoke. Giving Connor a fake smile. Connor looked annoyed. He gave her a fake smile too. Before looking at you. Giving you a genuine smile.  You could sense the tension between them.
“I’ll see you later,” He spoke. Giving you a sincere smile, before walking out of the room.
“So… what were Doctor Rhodes and you talking about?” She asked.
‘Not much, just asked if I could remember what my name was as well as if I could remember what happened to me?” You spoke. Lying to her. As she checked in on you.
“He seemed pretty close,” She spoke.
“He was just checking in on me,” You spoke. Making her give you a fake smile.
“Okay, I’ll check in on you later,” She responded. Giving you another fake smile, as she exited the room.
She quickly walked over to the nurse's station. Taking out her phone. Unlocking her phone. She quickly went into the messaging app. Pressing the conversation she had with Adam.
No budge. Though Connor and she seem pretty close She sent to him…
 Adam gripped his phone tighter as he reread the message over again. He let out a grunt of annoyance. He was about to reply when the door to his office opened. Mr. Williams Daughter storming in. Roddy trailing behind her. Adam gave her a forced smile. Adam placed his phone on his desk.
“How can I help you?” Adam asked.
“Of course you are just sitting there doing nothing, you should be grilling that woman,” She snapped. Fists clenched.
“The truth will come out, we are doing everything we can, ” Roddy reassured her. But she just turned around to face him. giving him a deadly glare.
“My dad isn’t a kidnapper or abuser,” She snapped. Storming out of the office.
Adam picked up his phone. Typing a message furiously.
Spy on them. Listen in on their conversations, report back to me.
Adam smirked as he sent the message. He would find out who that woman was…
 • ━━━━━ ••●•• ━━━━━ ••
Kyle felt anxious as he walked into the hospital. Fidgeting with his fingers. He heard through the grapevine, well Adam, the woman he saved was awake. Kyle wanted to visit her, to see how she was.
He walked over to the nurse’s station. He smiled nervously at the nurse. Who happened to be the nurse Adam flirted with.
She gave him a fake smile, which didn’t ease his nerves.
“Let me guess, you are here to see the woman you saved,” She spoke. Giving him a teasing smile.
“Yeah, I heard she was awake,” Kyle spoke.
“You can go see her,” The nurse spoke Kyle gave her a small smile, before turning around and walking to your room.
The sound of the door creaking made you snap your head away from the TV screen to look at the person who entered your room. You hoped it was Dr. Rhodes. But it turned out to be a stranger. You gave him an anxious look as you took in his features. He had brown eyes, a red beard, or maybe it was auburn and brown hair.
Kyle took notice of you looking at him cautiously.
“I’m Kyle, I saved you from the burning barn,” He spoke gently.
“Oh, well, I would tell you my name, if I could remember it,” You lied. You did know your name, you just didn’t know who you could trust other than Doctor Rhodes, which he is yet to tell you his first name.
Kyle let out a chuckle. Grabbing the chair and bringing it to the side of your bed. He sat down. Grimacing at the discomfort. Making you arch an eyebrow.
“You look better than when I first saw you,” Kyle spoke softly.
“Mmm, I don’t feel it, my head is pounding, I look like I’ve been through hell,” You whined. Pouting at him. Kyle smiled.
“But you are alive, that’s the most important thing,” Kyle spoke.
“I suppose, but my head is killing me,” You whined.
“Do you want me to go get a nurse? Maybe they can give you something?” Kyle spoke in a worried tone.
“Nah, pretty sure she hates me, I’ll be fine,” You gasped out. Bringing your uninjured hand up to your forehead.
Kyle felt his heart hurt as he watched you wince in pain.
“Do you remember anything?” He asked. His tone was sweet and caring.
“Just running through bushes and trees, then seeing the barn,” You reply. Eyes widening as you realized you might have revealed too much. Maybe it was how he asked you. Maybe it was those brown eyes staring intently into your soul.
Before Kyle or you could utter a single word the door to the room opened.
“Hey, y/n we’ve…” Connor started to say but stopped when he saw Kyle sitting next to your bed. Jealousy spiked inside of him. His jaw slightly clenching. The reaction didn’t go unnoticed by you. Maybe Kyle but not you.
“Oh, I didn’t know you had visitors,” Connor spoke.
“I just heard she was up, and I wanted to check in on her,” Kyle nervously replied. It was cute. Connor gave Kyle a forced smile.
Kyle seemed nervous.
“Um, I’ll see you soon,” Kyle spoke. Looking at you with a nervous smile, as he got up. You gave him a small smile in return. Watching him walk out of the room.
Your gaze returned to Connor. Giving him a pointed look.
“You seem jealous,” You pointed out.
“I’m not, I’m just worried,” Connor spoke defensively.
“Mmmhm…” You responded. Letting out a gasp of pain as your head throbbed.
Connor rushed over to you. Panic evident on his face.
“Are you okay?” Connor asked.
“Other than feeling pain in my head and body, yeah, I’m peachy,” You grunted.
“Carson is supposed to be giving you pain meds, damn it,” Connor grumbled at the nurse’s failure.
You gave him a quizzical look. Who was Carson?
‘Who’s Carson?” You asked. Voice sounding harsher than it was meant to be.
“The nurse that comes and checks in on you,” Connor responded.
“Oh,” You mumbled.
“I was going to clear you, but…” Connor started to say but you cut him off.
“I’m fine, it’s just pain,” You cut Connor off.
“You have had a traumatic experience,” Connor explained.
“I’m fine,” You huffed out. You would cross your arms if you could. So instead, you just pouted like a toddler who didn’t get their way.
Connor was about to speak but you cut him off.
“Please, clear me, I can’t take the taste of hospital food anymore, I mean the ice cream is great, don’t get me wrong, it’s the only highlight, but I’m bored sitting here,” You whined. Making your headache even worse.
“Ouch, and here I thought I was great company,” Connor fake sighed.
“You are…It’s just this hospital is driving me insane,” You huffed out.
“You’ve only had hospital four times,” Connor chuckled. While you just intensified your gaze. Pouting at him.
“Okay, fine, I’ll run a few tests before I give you the all-clear,” Connor spoke.
“Can’t we skip the tests?” You begged. Giving him a puppy dog look.
“Tests or hospital food for another week,” Connor spoke sternly. Making you let out a whine.
“Fine,” You sighed.
“And you are staying with me when I discharge you,” Connor spoke. Making your heart skip a beat.
Neither Connor nor you noticing Carson outside the door. She took her phone out of her pocket. Unlocking it. She quickly went into the messaging app. Clicking on the messages she had with Adam.
She’s being discharged. Staying with Connor. Kyle visited her btw, maybe you can use him as a pawn to find more about her.
 • ━━━━━ ••●•• ━━━━━ ••
After hours of CAT scans, MRI scans, CT scans, an echo, blood testes among other tests, among other tests, you were grateful that you didn’t have to take anymore. All you had to do was wait for the results.
Connor walked into the room with a huge smile on his face. Holding a bunch of clothes in his hands. you quirked an eyebrow.
“I got the results back, and you are in the clear, there were a few things that were a bit concerning but as long as you get psychotherapy to gain some of your memory back,” Connor spoke. As you smiled brightly at him. You sat up.
“Finally,” You beamed.
“I got a nurse to get you some clothes to change into, I got Rhys to buy some for you,” Connor spoke.
“Oh,” You spoke. Having no idea who Rhys was.
“He is one of the nurses who work here, and my friend,” Connor spoke. Connor placed the clothes on the bed. As you pushed the blanket back.
Connor’s hand rested on your lower back as you tried to get up. Connor assisted you.
He felt panic rise inside of him as you wobbled a bit. Your hand grabbed his arm for balance.
“Are you going to help me change?” You joked. Making Connor’s face turn red. He awkwardly scratching the back of his neck.
“Do you need help? Because I can get a nurse to help you,” Connor spoke.
“I’ll be fine,” You responded. Giving him a small smile.
Connor arched his eyebrow at you. Looking at where your hand was holding his arm for support.
You quickly took your hand away from his arm. Feeling slightly embarrassed.
“Alright, I will go get my stuff, then come back,” Connor spoke. Giving you one last longing glance, before walking out of your room.
You slowly took small steps towards the clothes. Slowly undoing the hospital gown. You cautiously put the clothes on that Connor gave you.
Just as you put the sweater on there was a knock at the door. Making you turn around.
“Come in,” You called out. Connor walked into the room. An amused smile gracing his lips as he held onto the strap. Keeping it from slipping. He was dressed in dark jeans, a top, and a black leather jacket. You quickly adverted your eyes back to his.
“Don’t laugh, It’s not my fault I have a sling,” You spoke in a pouty tone. Pouting at him. Connor let out a laugh. Walking closer to you.
“I’m not, I just think you look adorable, I discharged you while I was waiting for you to get changed,” Connor spoke.
“What would I do without you,” You jokingly spoke.
Not get beaten up by your toxic abusive ex-boyfriend, Connor thought to himself. He wanted to say that, but instead, he said something else.
“You ready to go?” Connor asked. Making you nod enthusiastically.  He quickly walked to the door opening it for you.
You quickly walked towards him.
“Thank you,”  You spoke. As you walked past him and out the door. Connor followed behind you. Catching up with you. you followed him out of the hospital and towards a car park. Which you assumed it must have been staff parking.
Connor took out his car keys. Stopping at his car.  He quickly unlocked the car.
“Fancy car,” You commented on his car. Connor let out a chuckle.
“Well, it’s nowhere near as cool as what your car is,” Connor spoke.
“Shame I can’t remember it,” You sighed. Pouting at him.
“It was a Jeep Wrangler, the newer version,” He responded. Opening the car door for you.
“And he is a gentleman too,” You praised him. Making his cheeks blush. You may not remember the history he and you shared, but he did.
You quickly got in. Connor shut the door. Rushing over to the driver's side. Getting in and putting his bag in the back. Connor put the keys in the ignition. Turning the car on. Putting his seat belt on. Connor put the handbrake down, then put the car into reverse. Backing out of the car park. He put the car into gear then speed off.
Connor glanced at you now and then seeing you take in the surroundings. Connor smiled slightly. His heart hurting at what you have been through. He wishes he stayed in Chicago, he wished you at least called him and told him what your ex did to you.
Connor drove into a driveway of an apartment complex. Stopping in front of a garage.
“You live in here,” You gasped out. Mouth a gap.
“Yep,” Connor chuckled. Grabbing a remote from the center console. He pressed a button making the garage door roll up. Connor drove in. Pressing the closed button on the remote button. The roller door closed.
Connor chuckled at your reaction. Finding a parking spot. He quickly parked in the spot. Putting the car into park. He pulled the handbrake up. Turning the car off. Connor turned his body. Reaching in the back to grab his bag. While you exited the car. Connor took the keys out of the ignition. Getting out of the car. He quickly got out. locking the car.
“Come on, I will make you a nice dinner,” Connor spoke softly. You quickly followed Connor. Stopping behind him as he pressed the elevator button. The elevator chimed, as the doors opened.
Both of you walking in. Connor pressed the button to the top floor.
“So, is anyone living with you like a significant other?” You questioned.
Connor shook his head no.
“I haven’t been in the dating scene or been with anyone since Chicago,” Connor spoke awkwardly. The air in the elevator getting thicker.
“Really,  because your hot and a doctor, plus you seem nice, least with me,” You spoke. Connor gave you a small smile.
The elevator dinged as it reached the top floor. Connor quickly exited the elevator. You quickly followed him. walking down the hallway in silence.
You felt slightly worried you may have stepped over a line.
“I’m sorry about that, I just…” You apologized only for Connor to cut you off. As he stopped in front of a door at the end of the hallway. Taking out keys. He put them into the keyhole. Turning it.
“It’s okay,” Connor spoke. As he grabbed the doorknob, twisting the doorknob. Opening the door.
“I…Wow,” You gasped out as you saw the city lights out of the window.
“So pretty,” You gawked out. Rushing over to the window. Connor let out an amused chuckle. Shutting the door and locking it.
You looked around the apartment in amazement. Connor let out a laugh.
“I’ll show you the room you will be staying in, it has a bathroom,” Connor spoke, as he walked over to a room. Opening a door.
“A bathroom, wow,” You beamed. Rushing over to the room.
Connor smiled at your reaction. He quickly looked away.
“Why don’t you have a shower, I still have clothes of yours that you can change into,” Connor spoke.
“You kept my clothes?” You asked. Arching an eyebrow.
“Yeah, from when you left them at my old place,” Connor mumbled. Cheeks flushing a light shade of pink. Why was he embarrassed he knew you.
“Thank you,” You spoke softly. Smiling at him softly.
“I’m going to make us dinner, clean towels are in the cupboard, Oh, and your clothes are in the tallboy,” He spoke, quickly turning around and walking out the room. Your heart beating wildly.
You couldn’t remember what you had with him, or any previous relationship, but for some reason Connor made you feel something. You felt a spark there.
“He is a doctor and can cook, damn, I missed the mark on that one,” You spoke in a dreamy tone.
You let out a heavy sigh walking into the bathroom. Closing the door. Stripping your clothes off.
Your eyes widen as you realized you have a sling on you. A curse slipped from your lips
“Ah, Connor I have a sling, could you get me a plastic bag,” You yelled out. Waiting for him to respond. But he didn’t.
You looked around the bathroom. Noticing a bathtub.
“I suppose having a bath will do,” You huffed out. struggling to take the rest of your clothes up. But eventually, you got there.
You walked over to the bathtub. Turning both taps on. Checking the temperature. Letting out a satisfied hum when it was the right temperature You put the plugin. Grabbing the shower gel. You squirted a bit in the water. Putting the bottle of shower gel down. You waited for the water to get a certain height; you turned the taps off. Carefully getting into the bathtub…
Connor tried to distract himself with making Spaghetti Carbonara, chopping up mushrooms, and bacon into little bits but failed miserably. You were invading his thoughts. It was killing him how he couldn’t just kiss you, but you didn’t have your memories of what he and you shared, and he didn’t want to scare you, let alone start something knowing you still had a boyfriend.
The spaghetti was already strained. All he had to do was put the sauce in. He poured the sauce into the pot. Putting the mushrooms into the sauce as well as the bacon.
Connor stirred the carbonara sauce around in the pot. Warming the sauce up. His mind wandering back to a memory he had with you.
A giggle escaped your lips as Connor’s beard scratched your neck, as he trailed kisses down your neck.
“We should just call in sick and do this all day,” You suggested. Making Connor look up at you tilting his head. He raised one of his eyebrows. Smirking at you.
“That’s a good idea,” Connor smirked. Pressing his lips against yours. The kiss turning feverish…
“I’m finished,” You spoke, in a sing-song voice. Making Connor jump. He quickly composed himself.
“Oh, smells nice,” You commented.
“Um…” Connor stuttered. He quickly checked if the sauce was warm. Thankful that it was.
“You okay?” You asked. Curious and worried.
“Yeah, you surprised me,” He spoke. Pouring the sauce into the pot that was filled with spaghetti. Connor quickly stirred the sauce around in the pot. Mixing the Carbonaro sauce with the spaghetti.
“Dinners ready,” Connor announced. Walking over to a cupboard. He opened it up, grabbing out two bowls. Connor went over to a draw. Pulling it open. He grabbed two forks. Connor turned around. Walking back to you. he quickly picked the spoon he was using. Putting the food into the bowl, before handing it to you.
“Thank you,” You spoke softly. walking over to the table. Connor joined you a second later.
“So, you said I have brothers what do they look like?” You asked. Breaking the silence.
“Well,” Connor spoke. Kind of getting caught off guard. He put his fork down, grabbing his phone.
Connor unlocked his phone, going into the photo app. He quickly pressed the see all option, scrolling until he found the album titled y/n with a red heart emoji. He quickly pressed that album. Scrolling until he found the picture of Jay, Will and you. While you ate more food.
“You were closer with Jay,” Connor spoke. Showing you the picture. You leaned in closer taking in the features of your brothers. One had brown hair and blue eyes while the other one had red hair with brown eyes.
“Because we were twins?” You asked.
“Probably, he and you had a weird co-dependent type of relationship, which surprises me, that he didn’t know who your mystery boyfriend Roman was,” Connor spoke. Making your eyes squint slightly. Trying to remember what Roman looked like, as well as memories with your brothers but nothing came up. You just made yourself get a headache.
“That’s Jay…” Connor spoke, pointing to the guy with brown hair and blue eyes.
“My twin,” You mumbled. But Connor heard you.
“Yep… And that’s Will,” Connor spoke again. Pointing to the guy with the red hair and brown eyes.
Connor noticed you grimace a bit. Your hand coming up to your forehead. Rubbing it.
“You okay?” Connor asked.
“Yeah, just tried to remember who they were, plus Roman,” You spoke. Rubbing your forehead.
“Leave that to psychotherapy,” Connor spoke. Giving you a small smile. Which you returned it by also giving him a slight smile.
The both of you ate in silence again. After dinner, Connor grabbed the plates, cutlery and pots, putting them in the dishwasher. He went over to the cupboard again. Grabbing a glass. Walking over to the sink. He turned the tap on. Pouring some water into the glass. He walked over to you handing you the glass of water.
“Thanks,” You mumbled. As he walked back to the kitchen island, grabbing a pack of tablets. He opened the box up. Popping two tablets into the palm of his hand, then spinning around. He walked back to you. Handing you the tablets.
“Oh, I’m fine,” You spoke.
“It’s your pain meds,” He spoke.
“Oh,” You spoke. Taking them off of him. you put them in your mouth. Taking a huge gulp of water. As you swallowed them. Grimacing at the aftertaste.
Connor let out a small chuckle.
“You’ve never been good with taking medicine or tablets,” Connor chuckled. His blue eyes staring intensely into your eyes. The intensity causes your lower belly to stir. Breath hitching. You may not remember whatever happened between him and you, but your body sure does.
“So, are you going to tell me more about your scandalous friendship?” You asked. Taking Connor off guard. He turned pale. Beads of sweat forming on his hairline. He scratched the back of his nervously.
“Do you want to watch a movie?” He asked changing the subject.
“Let’s watch a movie,” He spoke. Rushing over to the joint living room. He turned the TV on. Going into Netflix. He quickly picked a movie.
“Okay…” You responded. Getting up and walking over to him cautiously. Sitting down on the same couch he was sitting in. wondering if you may have asked a touchy subject by he reacted. Maybe he just didn’t want to talk about it, maybe it hurt him to bring up the past. But the more you thought about the more you wanted to know more about what happened between him and you.
So you decided to try something. Connor didn’t notice you move closer to him. till he felt your body heat.
Connor turned to look at you. Your hands cupped his jawline. Eyes looking at his intensely. Closing the distance between him and you. Connor was hypnotized. Maybe it was because it has been too long since he felt his lips against yours. But he let you kiss him.
Lips moving together in perfect sync. Both of you feeling the spark. Warmth feeling the both of you. butterflies
Connor quickly realized what you were doing. What he was doing too. He pulled away. A look of pain came across his features. Your face dropped into a look of sadness.
“I can’t go down that road not when you are with another man, and not when you can’t remember the history between us,” Connor quaked out. tears pooling in his eyes.
“How am I supposed to remember someone I have no recognition of, let alone a relationship? I feel something with you it seems familiar,” You gasped out. Tears gathering in your eyes. It broke his heart to see you cry. But he needed you to remember him. it wasn’t fair on him nor you.
“I can’t,” He gasped out. turning around and feeling to a room. He shut the door. Sliding down it. While you sat on the couch. Falling back on the cushions. Bringing your knees up to your chest, and hugging them for reassurance….
  • ━━━━━ ••●•• ━━━━━ ••
You let out a heavy sigh as you heard the front door of his apartment close softly.
Carefully pulling the blanket and sheet off your body. Getting up. You walked to the bathroom. Stripping your clothes off. Turning the bathroom taps on. Putting the plug in. filling the bathtub up with warm water, as well as putting shower gel in the water.
You grabbed a washcloth. Stepping inside the water. Cleaning yourself off. Once you finished cleaning yourself, you got out. Pulling the plug out. The water going down the drain. You wrapped the towel around you. Drying yourself off. Then wrapped the towel around you again. You quickly went over to the basin. Brushing your teeth, then cleaning your tongue.
Once you finished cleaning your teeth, you walked out of the bathroom and into the bedroom. Walking over to the tallboy. Opening the draw, that seemed to have your clothes. It hurt your heart that he kept your clothes, yet he doesn’t want to kiss you. You grabbed a pair of panties. Dropping the towel. You put them on with great difficulty. As well as the rest of the clothes. The jeans were the worst.
You let out a sigh of relief. Walking out of the guest bedroom. You saw a note on the kitchen island counter. Walking over to the counter. Reading the words on the note.  Your psychotherapy appointment is tomorrow at 11 am.
You let out a sigh, dropping the piece of paper. He could have just told you that in person and not left it on a note. You needed air. But you didn’t have the keys to the place. You thought about it for a second before deciding to leave. It was the last unit on the top floor, and you could just wait by the door anyways.
You left his apartment. Closing the door. Walking towards the elevator. You pressed a button. Making the elevator make a noise as it went up to the top floor. Doors opening. You quickly rushed into the elevator. You pressed the lobby button. The doors slide closed. The elevator descended, till it reached the lobby. Making a chiming sound. The doors sliding open. You quickly exited. Sidestepping a woman, as she got into the elevator. You felt a little self-conscious as some people in the lobby stared at you. You felt a little relieved as you exited the apartment complex. You looked back at the building to see a name, but it had no name.
“Great,” You muttered to yourself. You hoped you didn’t get lost.
A cool hitting your face. You slowly walked down the sidewalk. Taking in the buildings and stores.
You weren’t really watching where you were going. Running into a woman and a stand of flowers. The flowers cluttering to the floor. The woman cursed.
You got up. Helping her out. The best you could.
“I’m sorry,” You apologized profusely. The woman took a good look at you before letting out an annoyed huff. Making you grumble.
“Course it’s you. Haven’t you done enough?” She snapped. You looked at her confused. Feeling slightly hurt by her words.
You were about to speak when you heard a familiar voice.
“Seriously, Norah, you don’t have to be a bitch, it’s not like she purposely set out to wreck your flowers,” Kyle snapped. Making Norah look at him. Clenching her jaw. Eyes narrowing into slits. You could tell something happened between the two of them.
“Of course, you would defend her, my father isn’t an abuser, he didn’t do this to her,” She growled out. Storming into the flower shop.
“She hates me,” You sighed. Kyle moved to stand in front of you.
“Don’t worry about her, do you want to go get coffee?” Kyle asked. Rubbing the back of his neck nervously.
“On a date?” You asked. Arching an eyebrow. This simple gesture made Kyle’s heart race,
“Just as a get-to-know basis?” Kyle responded. Making you give him a small smile.
“Aren’t you working?” You asked.
“My shift isn’t until later on,” He spoke. Making you smile.
“Okay,” You agreed. Kyle flashed you a smile.
Both of you walked towards a small coffee shop. Taking a seat on one of the outdoor chairs.
“Say if it was a date would you say yes?” Kyle asked. Making you look at him in surprise.
“Well….I mean….I could be in a relationship or married,” You gasped out.
Kyle looked at your left hand. Seeing no ring occupied it.
“I don’t see a ring on your finger,” He replied cheekily. Making you let out a tiny chuckle.
“True… could have slipped off,” You spoke. Making Kyle frown. Before he smiled again. He was about to speak when a waitress came up to the table. Handing Kyle and you a menu each. Kyle and you smiled at her.
“Thank you,” Kyle and you both spoke at the same time.
Both of you looked at the menu, then ordered. The waitress wrote down Kyle’s order as well as yours. Taking the menus from Kyle and you. Telling the two of you that the coffees should be out soon. Then left to go inside the coffee shop
“So… what’s up WITH Norah and you? I mean I get she hates me because of that whole thing with her father, but I feel like there was something more, I felt tension?” You asked. Kyle let out a heavy sigh.
‘She is my ex, long story short, it was a horrible relationship,” Kyle explained. You gave him a sympathetic smile.
“I’m sorry,” You spoke.
“It’s not your fault, we were young and stupid,” Kyle sighed.
The waitress came back with two cups of coffee. Placing them down on the table in front of Kyle and you.
Kyle and you thanked her. Taking a sip of coffee.
“Y/n,” Connor gasped out frantically. Making you turn around. You gave him a slight smile. He looked frantic. Eyes full of worry. Hair was disheveled.
“I’ve been looking for you,” Connor gasped out. While Kyle raised his eyebrow. What has Connor your keeper?
Connor felt intense amounts of jealousy when he saw Kyle and you sipping coffee.
He knew he had no right to get jealous since he rejected your advances last night. But it was only because he wanted you to remember him. Remember what the two of you shared before he goes down that road again or tries something.
You quickly finished your coffee. Giving Kyle an apologetic smile. You got up.
“I’ll see you around,” You spoke. Giving him a soft smile. You turned around. Walking over to Connor.
Connor and you walked away. Leaving jealousy to boil in Kyle’s veins. He felt so crushed as he watched you walk off with Connor….
Adam bought the tip of the beer bottle up to his lips. Wrapping his lips around the tip. Tipping of the bottle up. He chugged on the beer. Giving Roddy a nod, as he sat down on the couch next to him
“Well, today was exhausting,” Roddy sighed. Taking a sip of the beer.
“Yeah, still haven’t made progress with that case,” Adam grumbled.
Roddy grabbed Adam’s knee in a comforting gesture.
“We will find out who she is,” Roddy reassured Adam.
“Hopefully soon,” Adam grumbled. Taking another sip.
Roddy and Adam’s attention turned to the door, as Bobby and Kyle came through the door.
“How was work?” Roddy asked as they dumped the duffle bags they took to work near the hallway
“Eventful,” Kyle sighed.
“You’d think people would learn to turn the heater off by now,” Bobby sighed. As he sat down on one of the chairs. While Kyle walked towards the kitchen to grab beers for him and Bobby.
Kyle came back into the living room. Handing Bobby a beer. Sitting down on the couch. He looking dejected. Kyle twisted the cap off the beer bottle. Adam took notice of his friend's mood.
“Why do you look so down?” Adam asked.
“That woman we found in that barn fire on Mr. Williams farm, I had a coffee date with her, but then Connor came, and swooped her away. She must be staying with him, it’s not like I stand a chance against him,” Kyle huffed out. Feeling slightly better he got that off his chest,
Adam had to stop himself from smiling as he thought of an idea. He could finally find out the identity of that woman.
“You should ask her out again, woo her until she falls for you,” Adam encouraged. Kyle furrowed his eyebrows.
“I suppose,” Kyle sighed. Still not convinced. For one he didn’t have your number. He knew where Connor lived. But he didn’t want to seem desperate.
“Come on man, you’re a catch, don’t put yourself down,” Bobby reassured Kyle.
“I’m sure she sees nothing in Connor, isn’t he, her doctor? Bit unprofessional if he is still her doctor,” Roddy spoke.
“I don’t know they seemed pretty close,” Kyle sighed. Taking a sip.
“Firefighters are way better than doctors,” Adam stated. Arching an eyebrow. Kyle rolled his eyes.
“Look dude, if you like her go for it, you haven’t dated anyone since Norah, I want you to be happy, you deserve to be happy,” Adam sighed.
Kyle let out a sigh. Maybe he should ask you out again, try to get out of the friendzone.
“I’ll see if she is free on the weekend. I’m sure she has some sort of therapy, considering what she’s been through,” Kyle spoke.
“That’s my boy,” Adam boasted. As all four of them took sips of their beers.
Adam couldn’t wait to find out the information Kyle would feed him about this unidentified woman….
Jay glared at Austin as Austin took the stand. He had a suspicious feeling Austin knew more than he was letting on. He had a feeling that Austin had something to do with his sister's disappearance, possibly murder. He hoped this inquest unravelled Austin’s lies.
Jay clenched his jaw as Austin started to answer the question. Will spared a glance at his brother seeing Jay fuming.
“I love her, I just wish Roman would tell us where he put her body,” Austin responded to a question Jay wasn’t listening to. Jay had enough. He stood up in a fit of rage.
“We all that’s a lie, I wouldn’t be surprised if you were the one that killed her, you have abused her before. Which is why I think you kidnapped her and murdered her, then pinned it on some mafia boss she was dating,” Jay snapped. Making everyone in the courtroom turned to look at Jay.
“Mr. Halstead, sit down,” The judge spoke. Making Jay let out a grumble.
“No, he is the reason why my sister is missing. Possibly dead, if he claims he loved her so much, then why did he put bruises on her body. Laid his grimy hands on her. He abused her,” Jay snapped.
“Mr. Halstead,” The judge warned him.
“I did hurt her but that was my PTSD, I felt so bad after I hurt her. You should know that since you were in the military,” Austin spoke. Looking sad. Jay knew it was fake.
“Don’t use that as an excuse,” Jay shouted. Fury in his eyes.
The judge ordered the security guards to escort Jay out.
“I’m going to prove it was you, your lies will unravel, and the truth will come out,” Jay shouted as the guards escorted him out of the room.
Jay walked back to his truck. Fishing the keys out of his pockets. Jay unlocked the truck. Opening the door, and getting in. Putting the key in the ignition.
He wished he could have done more. His mind flashed back to when he last had an encounter with you before you disappeared.
“Y/n, open up,” Jay demanded. Banging on the door. You squeezed your eyes shut. Praying he would go away. You didn’t want him to see you with a black eye and busted lip.
Unfortunately for you, Jay didn’t go away. He pulled out the spare key you gave him. Putting it into the lock and unlocking the door. You cursed under your breath. Taking a step back from the door, as he opened it.
Jay’s eyes landed on you. He looked at you with a worried expression
“What happened? Who did this to you?” Jay asked. Looking at you with concerned eyes.
“Was it that new boyfriend of yours, because I swear if he turns out to be another Austin,” Jay grumbled. Concern turning into fury.
“No, it wasn’t Roman,” You sighed. Looking away from Jay. Glancing at the floor instead of Jay.
“It was Austin wasn’t,” Jay assumed.
“Course it was,” Jay grumbled.
“Jay, please, I’m handling it, he must have heard I was dating and he got jealous,” You sighed out. Giving him a pleading look.
“You are not safe from him y/n, let me handle this,” Jay spoke.
“I’m dealing with it,” You sighed.
“How are you dealing with it?” Jay snapped. Making you flinch. His eyes softened. His hands gently resting on your shoulder. Eyes looking into yours.
“I’m just worried one day you are going to end up in a body bag,” Jay sighed. You gave him a small smile.
“I’m going to get through this Jay,” You spoke softly voice cracking.
Jay went back to reality. He wished he did something that day. But he didn’t. But he was going to do something now. He was going to prove Austin killed you.
Jay turned the key in the ignition. Starting the truck. He quickly put his seatbelt on. Putting the handbrake down. then putting the transmission into gear. Jay pressed his foot on the accelerator leaving the courthouse to go to the 21st district.
Once he got there. He parked his truck. Storming into the 21st district. Not saying hello to Trudy as he walked past the front desk. He ran up the stairs. Punching the code word in. jay rushed up the stairs. Going into the bullpen. Hailey, Kevin, Adam, and Kim looked at Jay as he rushed into Hank's office. They all shared glances at each other. Feeling worried for their colleague and friend. Jay’s been on edge ever since your disappearance.
“I need your help, I’m hundred percent certain, that Austin Smith, murdered my twin sister, I saw her the night she disappeared he hurt her, she had a black eye and a busted lip,” Jay spoke.
Hank let out a grunt. Looking at Jay. He could tell this was wearing Jay down. he also had a feeling Austin wasn’t being truthful.
“I believe you, but if we are going to do this, we have to make sure we get hard evidence, bug his phones, keep this operation hush-hush, he is also a cop,” Hank spoke. Making Jay feel slightly better.
“We’re going to get this bastard, he is going to pay for what he did to my sister,” Jay spoke. Hank got up. Gesturing for Jay to follow him. Jay followed him.
“Alright, for now on we have one case and one case only, do not tell anyone else about the details of this case, you will not utter a single word about this case other than to the people in this team,” Hank spoke.
Hank looked at Jay. Jay nodded. Going to the whiteboard and writing y/n Halstead.
“Y/n Halstead, has been missing for a month, presumed dead, Austin blames Roman Reigns a mob boss in Chicago, for the disappearance of Y/n Halstead, Jay last saw her on the night she disappeared, a black eye and a busted lip, now we can assume Roman did it, but Austin has a history of hurting y/n, maybe he took it to far,” Hank spoke.
“We are going to bug his place, all his devices, till he confesses, gear up,” Hank spoke again. Walking out of the bullpen.
The rest of the team followed Hank. Getting ready to plant a bug in Austin Smith's house. The air was tense…
Hailey and Kim rode with Jay, while Adam and Kevin rode together and Hank drove alone.
“We will find her, Jay,” Hailey reassured Jay. Giving him a reassuring look. Jay tightened his grip on the steering wheel. Pressing his foot on the gas more.
“I just want her back,” Jay mumbled.
Kim and Hailey shared a look.
“How did the inquest go?” Kim asked.
“Horrible, he’s trying to play the victim,” Jay grumbled. Feeling slightly better as they all reached Austin’s house. He parked the truck.
Hailey was about to open her mouth when Jay got out of the car.
“He just wants to find her,” Kim sighed. As they both got out.
All of them slowly and tacitly walked to Austin’s house. Hailey, Adam, and Jay going behind the house, while Kim, Kevin, and Hank were out the front. Checking to see if Austin was home. When they found out he wasn’t. Adam picked the lock. Letting out a laugh of victory. Hailey, Jay, and Adam walked into the house, checking the area. Adam quickly went to the front. Opening the front door. Letting Kevin, Hank, and Kim in.
“Let's get in and get out,” Hank commanded. All of them nodded. Going off and placing bugs discreetly.
Once they finished placing the bug they all exited the house, Jay, Hailey, and Kevin going into the surveillance van while Kim, Adam, and Hank got into the vehicles. All they had to do was wait till Austin exposed himself…
 • ━━━━━ ••●•• ━━━━━ ••
 You stared at the painting that was hanging in the psychotherapy waiting room. Waiting for your appointment. Technically it was CBT- Cognitive behavioral therapy, at least that’s what Connor told you last night. You were surprised he told you that. He has been acting weird and distant ever since you kissed him.
A woman who looked like she was in her late forties came out of the room. Then another middle-aged woman came out of the room as well. She gave you a warm welcoming smile.
“Come in, my name is Aurella,” She spoke.
You quickly got up. Walking into the room and sitting on the chair. Aurella shut the door. Walking over to the chair in front of you. She sat down.
“So, you’ve been through a lot, and since you suffered a brain injury and a head trauma. Your brain had repressed your memory. I’m here to help you regain some of those memories, like your name, life before coming here, and only if you want to what happened to you that lead you to have such this massive trauma,”  She spoke in a comforting voice. You nodded your head. Giving her a small smile.
“First we are going to start small, we are going to start with your name,” She spoke.
“Lay down, and close your eyes,” She told you. You did as she told you to do.
“Now relax,” She spoke again. You heard paper moving.
“I want you to picture something that makes you feel calm,” She spoke. Looking at your body language.
You tried to relax, but your vision just showed black.
“Some people picture the beach or lying in a field of flowers looking up at the sky,” Aurella spoke.
Your vision slowly picturing the field of flowers. Strolling through the field of flowers, you hear someone call out your name.
“What name do you hear?” She asked.
Your mind pictured you wandering in a field of flowers. A voice saying y/n. you turned around to see a guy with an evil smirk. Your heart racing. You looked down to see blood. You could smell the metallic smell of blood.
Your eyes shot open. Breathing heavily.
“Are you okay?” Aurella asked you. Looking at you with a concerned look.
“Y/n, that’s what I heard,” You told her. Leaving out the part of the guy you saw and the blood.
“Okay,” She spoke. Writing notes down in the book she was holding. She looked back up at you. Giving you a warm smile. As she noticed you looked uncomfortable.
“I’ll see you next week,” She spoke. Standing up.
“It was lovely meeting you,” Aurella spoke. As you got up. She assisted you to the door. Opening the door for you.
“You two,” You responded.
“Take care,” She spoke. As you walked out the door. Giving her a small smile. You walked over to the receptionist. She looked up.
“I have you booked for the same time and day next week. No need to pay Connor, I mean Dr. Rhodes paid for it,” She spoke.
“Thanks,” You spoke. You turned around to walk out of the room, as well as the hospital. Walking through the town.
You saw the flower shop. Your eyes darted around, as you thought whether to talk to Norah. You decided to talk. After that image, you saw you had to tell her. Maybe she would hate you less.
You took a deep breath. Walking over to the flower shop. As you entered the flower shop. The door chimed. Anxiety bubbled up inside of you.
Norah looked up. Her warm welcoming smile disappeared as she realized it was you. She looked angry.
“Norah…” You started to say. But she cut you off.
“How do you know my name?” She snapped out. Your heart quickened.
‘From yesterday,” You gulped out.
“Oh, right, why are you here? What do you want?” She snapped out. Fury in her eyes.
“I’m sorry, for what you are going through, people accusing your father of hurting me, I know he didn’t do it,” You spoke in a soft voice.
“Then tell the cops,” She growled out.
“It’s complicated,” You sighed. She let out an annoyed huff.
Neither Norah nor you noticing someone was listening. Hiding behind the back room. That person happened to be Jey Uso.
Jey’s eyes widened in shock. Mouth a gap. You were alive. He felt a small bit of relief. He had to tell Roman.
‘You know what you can do, go away, everything was fine till you showed up,” Norah snapped.
“I’m sorry,” You gasped out. Feeling tears prick your eyes.
“Why don’t you do everyone in this town a favor and disappear again, this time show up in a town not covered in blood,” She snapped. Storming off.
You let out a heavy sigh. Turning around and walking out the door.
Feeling deflated. You walked down the streets. looking down at your feet.
“Hey,” You heard a familiar voice call out to you. You looked up to see Kyle coming towards you.
“Hey Kyle,” You greeted him.
“How are you doing?” Kyle asked.
“Alright, how about you?” You replied.
“Same, I was wondering if you wanted to hang out again, on Saturday, have some coffee and lunch, at the same coffee shop, only if you want to,” Kyle suggested in a nervous tone.
“Sure,” You replied. Making Kyle smile brightly. You smiled at him.
He took out a piece of paper. Handing it to you. You arched an eyebrow. Seeing numbers on it.
“It’s my phone number,” He spoke.
“Oh, thank you, I don’t have a phone, but I will definitely see you on Saturday, what time?” You asked.
“A bit after eleven,” Kyle responded.
Another voice called out Kyle’s name. Making Kyle turn his attention towards the person who called his name.
Kyle looked back at you. Giving you a warm smile.
“I have to go, I’ll see you on Saturday, take care,” Kyle spoke. Giving you a warm smile.
He took off running towards his friend and co-worker Bobby. Leaving you to stare at the piece of paper that had his phone number on it…
Jey was beyond thrilled his shift at the flower shop was over. He was staying in a cabin with Roman at Norah Williams farm. She told him she needed help at the flower shop. So, he helped her, mainly to get on her good books.
He listened for hours on days while she ranted about this unidentified woman who ended up in her barn that burnt down. Jey thought it was interesting that there was an unidentified woman in the town. Maybe it was y/n since they didn’t find her body. Roman thought Austin killed her given he was the one that saved her from Austin. But Jey believed you were still alive, and he was right.
Jey stopped the car at the cabin Roman and he was staying in. putting the handbrake up. Putting the car in park, he turned the car off. Pulling out the keys. He quickly got out. Rushing out of the car. Slamming the door. He quickly ran to the cabin. Opening the door and slamming it.
Roman looked up from the TV giving Jey an annoyed look.
“How was the flower shop?” Roman asked.
“Interesting,” Jey responded. Walking towards Roman. Till he was standing in front of him.
‘I don’t think anything about a flower shop would be interesting unless you met a woman, who is she? You know we can’t stay long here,” Roman spoke.
“I found her,” Jey spoke. Eyes gleaming. Finally feeling happy he got that off his chest. Unfortunately, Roman thought he meant something different.
Roman rolled his eyes. Letting out a drawn-out sigh.
“Jey, this was a temporary thing, we can’t stay here, break up with her,” Roman demanded.
“I don’t think you understand, I found her,” Jey spoke again. Looking desperately at Roman.
“Well, I’m sure you will find another woman at the next town,” Roman grumbled.
“I found y/n,” Jey slightly shouted. Making Roman’s eyes widened. Mouth a gap.
He stood up.
“But he…” Roman gasped out in shock.
“She’s alive, though I think she was amnesia,” Jey spoke.
“Do you know what this means,” Roman spoke.
“Your innocent,” Jay responded. Roman grabbed Jey’s shoulders. Looking into his eyes.
“We can kidnap her and get out of this town,” Roman spoke. Making Jey look at Roman with confusion.
“But she doesn’t remember anything let alone her name,” Jey spoke.
“Doesn’t matter, I can’t lose her again,” Roman gasped out. Jey gulped before speaking.
“Then when do we do it?” Jey asked.
“We keep tabs on her, and when she is alone, we take her,” Roman spoke. Smiling at Jey. Bringing his hand up to Jey’s face and patting it out…
Carson trailed behind Connor at a safe distance. Making sure she didn't get caught. She saw him go into a room.
She quickly pressed her ear to the door. Listening in on the quiet talking.
"Connor, I can't tell you how she went?' Aurella sighed.
"Please," Connor begged. Aurella let out a sigh.
"Her name is y/n, but I have a feeling she saw something else, just by how she woke up in a fright, I didn't persist because that wouldn't help her, given her current situation," Aurella spoke. Connor felt defeated you didn't remember him yet.
Carson smiled to herself as she found out this unidentified woman's name. She sneaked away, going into a supply closet. Taking out her phone. Unlocking the phone. She went into the messaging app. Going into the convo she had with Adam.
Her name is Y/n, didn't get the last name, but I hope that helps. She typed, then pressed sent.
A few minutes later her phone vibrated. She smiled as she saw his reply.
Thank you, it helps a lot. Adam responded.
She quickly replied with a kiss emoji before locking her phone. Putting it back in her pocket. She composed herself before walking out of the supply closet, getting back to work...
Adam smirked as he reread the text Carson sent him. He finally had her name.
He looked at the screen of the PC.
"I got a lead, found out her name," Adam spoke, as he noticed Roddy walking into his office, holding a paper bag and a box with two coffees in it.
"Really, did she tell you?" Roddy asked. Eyes sparkling with delight. He placed the box that held the coffees on the desk. Putting the paper bag on the desk as well.
"Nah, a CI told me," Adam spoke, as he took one of the coffees, Roddy stopped opening the paper bag. Looking at Adam curiously.
"Right, is this CI Carson?" He asked as he grabbed his food.
Adam shrugged his shoulders.
"Be careful, I know you want to solve this case..." Roddy started to say only for Adam to cut him off.
"And I have, all I have to do is run her first name through the database, filter it to missing cases, and I have her identity," Adam spoke.
"Right, well I'll leave you to it, I'm on my lunch break," Roddy spoke. Picking up the box that only held one coffee cup now, as well as picking up the brown paper bag.
"Call me if you need me," Roddy spoke, as he walked away. Adam moved his hand in a dismissive gesture.
Adam typed y/n in the database, filtering it to missing, a few names popped up. He looked at every single one of them, feeling deflated. Adam pressed on another one. A smile gracing his lips as he saw the woman had the same similar facial features as you.
"Bingo, Y/n Halstead," Adam cheered.
Adam opened another tab, going into google. He typed in Y/n Halstead. Smiling proudly as he saw results. He went into an article. Reading the words that were written, he scrolled down, till he reached a video. Adam pressed play on the video.
A police officer looked up at the camera with sad eyes. Letting out a sigh before speaking.
"My name is officer Smith," Austin spoke voice full of pain. He looked down at the ground, letting out a sigh. He looked back up with glassy eyes.
"Y/n Halstead has been missing for months, her brother Jay was the last one to see her, y/n might be my ex, but I still care deeply for her. Y/n has been involved with Roman Reigns a notorious mob boss, I believe he may have caused her harm or killed her. Unfortunately, we haven't found y/n yet, but we are hoping if we find Roman and his accomplish Jey, we will hopefully get information on where he is holding her or buried her. If you have any information or potential leads please don't hesitate to call this number on the screen, as well as my number which is flashing across the screen. We just want y/n back Roman; we won't charge you if you cooperate," Officer Smith spoke.
Adam quickly paused the video. Grabbing a sticky note and a pen. He saw a picture of a woman showing on the screen as well as the numbers, it looked a lot like the unidentified woman.
He wrote both numbers down on the sticky note. Adam picked up the phone in his office. Calling Officer Smith's phone number.
Adam heard the phone ringing. Officer Smith picked up on the third ring.
"Hello, officer Smith speaking," Austin spoke.
Adam smirked leaning back on his chair, as he looked out the window. He noticed it was night time.
"Hello, officer Smith, this is officer Cole, I think I have some information on your ex-girlfriend, Y/n Halstead, an unidentified woman who came into our town, and after doing a little digging I believe she is Y/n Halstead," Adam spoke.
"Send me the details of your county and I will come," Austin spoke. As Adam smirked not knowing the danger that was laying ahead....
Connor heard muffled crying coming from the guest room as he locked his front door. He quickly rushed into the guest room. Pulse racing.
Connor opened the door rushing inside the bedroom to see you hugging your legs with your uninjured arm. Rocking back and forth. Tears falling from your eyes. Your body was shaking.
"Y/n," Connor called out softly. His voice full of worry, as he cautiously came over to you.
You flinched as he neared you. Letting out a soft whimper. It broke his heart.
"It's just me, Connor," He spoke with a soft reassuring voice. You looked up at him with teary eyes. Lips trembling. It broke his heart even more.
"I remember what he did, what he did to me, how he abused me, how he hit me till I passed out, or maybe he believed I was dead," You sobbed out. Connor looked so heartbroken.
He quickly sat beside you. Wrapping his arms around you. You immediately fall into him. Holding onto him for dear life, as your body trembled.
"I'm here," He reassured you. His hand rubbing up and down your back. Rubbing soothing circles.
Whispering comforting and reassuring words to you. Eventually, your sobs subsided, your eyes growing heavily, slowly drifting back to sleep in Connor's arms.
Connor looked down at you with a sad expression. He was worried about you. Having you in his arms was too painful, especially when you didn't remember him or the history he and you shared. Connor delicately placed you down on the bed. Pulling the sheet over your body. Gazing at you for a second, before he turned around. Quietly walking out the door. He closed the door ever so softly.
Letting out a small sigh, he took out his phone. Unlocking it and going into the contacts. Scrolling down his contacts till he found Jay's contact. Connor pressed on it. Pressing the call icon. Bringing the phone up to his ear.
Connor waited till Jay picked up. When he did, he didn't wait till Jay said anything.
"Hey jay, it's your sister, she came to Florida, all banged up with no memory loss, and I'm worried about her," Connor spoke softly.
Connor heard heavy breathing.
"She's alive..." Jay gasped out.
"Yeah," Connor responded.
"Don't go anywhere I'm coming to get her," Jay spoke. Connor heard rustling on the other end, then a vehicle starting before he heard the phone cut off...
Hailey exited the coffee shop. Holding the cardboard cup holder and a takeout bag. She had to beg Jay to take a break with her. Though he told the rest of the team to keep him informed. Hailey smiled politely at a woman as the woman passed her. Hailey heard a vehicle starting up, as well as tires screeching on the road. Hailey saw Jay drive off in a hurry without her. She quickly went over to a table. Putting the cardboard cup holder and bag on the table. She grabbed her walkie-talkie.
"Jay, what the hell?" She spoke into the walkie-talkie.
"I'm sorry, but I found news about y/n," Jay spoke. Cutting the walkie-talkie off.
Hailey was about to talk again when Kim's voice came through the walkie talkie
"Jay, Hailey, Austin got a call from a Florida police officer that y/n is in Florida,"
Hailey let out a relieved sigh, then felt a wave of anxiety wash over her at the thought of your ex finding you first. Possibly killing you.
"Can you pick me up, Jay must have found out first and left me here at a small coffee shop," Hailey spoke.
"Yeah, sure," Kim spoke, through the walkie-talkie...
You woke up with a gasp. Drenched in sweat. You looked around to realize you were alone. The house was quiet. He either left or was avoiding you or he was working. A frown formed on your lips. You slowly got up. Your temple throbbing as you did so.
You glanced at the alarm clock on the bed. Eyes widening as you realized it was 11:59 am. You quickly got up. Rushing to the bathroom stripping off your clothes. Turning the taps on to the bathtub.
You quickly did your morning routine, then got dressed. Rushing out of the door. You rushed to the café shop. Seeing Kyle sitting at a table. Looking slightly sad. He heard footsteps approaching him. He looked up to see you approaching him. His face lighting up with happiness.
"I am so sorry, I had a rough night, and I overslept," You spoke. Smiling at him.
"It's okay, are you okay?" Kyle asked as he got up. He was going to pull your chair out for you, but you already sat down. Kyle sat back down awkwardly. Ear burning red with embarrassment.
"Yeah," You responded.
"I have some news, Adam found out your name, it is Y/n Halstead, also, your ex-Austin Smith is coming," Kyle spoke. Kyle noticed your whole demeanor changed to a look of pure fear.
Your heart was beating faster. As flashbacks flashed of Austin hurting you. As well as beating you until you passed out. He probably thought you were dead, and now he found you, he was going to kill you.
"I have to go," You gasped out. Standing up abruptly. The chair clattered to the ground. Not that you cared. You rushed off leaving Kyle to look at you with a worried expression. You were not okay...
You ran as fast as your legs could take you. Passing people. Some of them looked at you like you were on drugs.
You felt a hand clamp around your mouth, then an arm wrap around your body. Pulling you closer to their body. You kicked wildly. Trying to free yourself. But they were stronger. They dragged you down the alleyway. You screamed for help. But their hand clamped down hard on your mouth. Muffling your cries for help. You saw Kyle in the distance, but he couldn't see you. Tears fell from your eyes, as they dragged you to the car. What if this person was Austin or someone he paid. Austin lived in Chicago. Surely, he wouldn't have come to Florida that quick.
They opened the back door. Pushing you into the car. They slammed the door shut. Walking to the front driver's side getting in.
You saw two guys turn to look at you. You shivered in fear.
"You're really alive," Roman gasped out. While you just whimpered, tears falling from your eyes rapidly. He reached out to wipe your tears away, but you flinched, moving back. Roman's facial expression turned into a look of sadness.
"Who are you? Are you going to kill me?" You gasped out. Roman looked at Jey. Before looking back at you. Making you even more anxious.
"I'm Roman, we were dating till your ex kidnapped you and tortured you, but your alive now and that's all that matters, this is Jey, my cousin" Roman spoke. Pointing at Jey who was in the driver's side. Roman glanced at Jey. Jey started the car up, the doors locked making you panic. Driving away. You passed Kyle, along the way. Your pulse racing. You didn't have many options, the doors were locked, the windows were tinted dark. Even if you did pound on the window, it's not like Kyle could see you. Your only option was to wait till they stopped at a petrol station and flee...
Austin stepped off the helicopter that landed on a field. He smiled as he saw Officer Cole leaning against a car. He walked over to him with confidence.
Once he reached officer Cole. He stuck out his hand. Shaking hands with him.
"She's living with Connor Rhodes," Adam spoke. Making Austin's jaw clenched tight. Austin smiled at Adam.
"Then we should check there first," Austin spoke. Making Adam smile.
Adam walked towards the driver's side, while Austin walked towards the passenger side. Adam and Austin got into the car. Adam started the car, driving off. Adam sped towards Connor's apartment. Silence settling in.
Adam parked the car in front of the apartment complex. Austin got out before Adam could even utter a word. Adam got out as well. Catching up to Austin. Both took the elevator.
Adam pressed the top floor. Austin and him waiting for the elevator to reach the top floor. Adam could sense Austin was in no mood to chat.
The elevator reached the top floor. The doors slide open. Austin and Adam walked out of the elevator.
"His room is the one at the end," Adam spoke. As they both walked to the last room.
Austin roughly smashed his shoulder into the door. Breaking it. Adam looked surprised at the action.
Austin quickly walked into the apartment. Looking for you. Calling out your name but no answer.
He let out a frustrated grunt. Looking out the window. Clenching his fists. He Saw a few cameras scattered around.
He turned wildly around to face Adam.
"Do those security cameras work?" Austin asked.
"Yeah, I can get the tech to send me the feed if you want," Adam replied.
"That would be great," Austin grumbled.
Adam quickly did what Austin requested. Coming over to Austin once he got the feed.
"The tech guy sent me this," Adam spoke. Showing him the video. It was you running, then a hand grabbed your mouth. Pulling you into the alleyway. A few minutes later a car went out of the alleyway.
"Track the car's plates, put a bolo on that car, it's Roman, we have to save her," Austin ordered. As he exited the apartment. Adam hot on his trail. Doing what Austin asked...
• ━━━━━ ••●•• ━━━━━ ••
Nerves ran through your body, as you made yourself look small.
Roman and Jey were talking amongst themselves. Roman turned around to look at you. He was about to speak when a car crashed into the driver's side, causing such force the car flipped over.
Glass shattered everywhere; the car rolled a couple of times till it stopped on the roof. Roman, Jey, and you all knocked unconscious.
Memories came flooding back to you. Your relationship with Austin, Roman, and you, when he first saved you from Austin, Connor and you having a friend with benefits relationship. Letting him leave Chicago without telling him about your feelings for him, Austin hurting you, walking to this town, your two brothers Jay and Will, everything came back to you in a rush.
Your eyes fluttered open, as you let out a gasp of pain. Everything hurt. Blood crusted on the top of your head. Nose bleeding. You were sure you dislocated your shoulder. Lucky it was the one with the sling.
You looked around your surroundings to realize you were upside down. Your hand reached down to your seatbelt. Undoing it. Suppressing a yelp of pain. If your shoulder wasn't dislocated before it definitely was now that you fell shoulder first onto the roof.
You crawled out of the car. Glass scraping your skin. You staggered to Roman's side. Pressing your index and middle finger against his windpipe. It was faint. Blood was running down his forehead. You looked past him to see how Jey was. Only to see the steering wheel embedded into his stomach. You reached over to check his pulse. But felt nothing. Your stomach turned. You quickly unbuckled Roman. Pulling him out of the car with great difficulty.
Roman's eyes fluttered open. He looked up at you with glazed eyes.
"Roman," You gasped out. Your hand stroking his cheek. Looking down at him with worried eyes.
"Y/n..." Roman grumbled out.
"I remember you," You gasped out. Tears pricking your eyes.
Roman smiled. Before coughing. You quickly accessed his body for wounds. Finding a large piece of glass sticking out of his leg. Before you could treat it, Roman grabbed your hand. Looking at you.
"Is Jey okay?" Roman asked. Making your pulse quicken. You shook your head no.
Roman's eyes watered. He opened his mouth to say something, but a sound of a gunshot rang out. Your eyes widen as you saw a bullet wound in the side of Roman's temple. You let out a scream. Shuffling away from Roman. Breathing getting heavier. You looked up to see your ex- Austin stalking towards you. You quickly got up. Running into the woods. Austin following you.
"You can run but you can't hide," He shouted. As you ran faster. Tree branches scratching your skin, you looked back now and then.
"Come on. y/n, let's finish what we started," Austin shouted. He sounded close. You quickly looked behind you, not noticing a root of a tree sticking out, your foot got caught and you tripped over.
You heard footsteps coming towards you. Looking around. Seeing a thick brunch on the ground. Wrapping your fingers around the brunch. You turned around to see Austin looming above you. You quickly got up. Swinging the brunch hard against his temple. It stunned him. You tried to run away but Austin wrapped his arms around you. Tackling you to the ground with such force it knocked the wind out of you. He turned you around to face him. Sitting on you, so you didn't escape. You tried to escape but you couldn't escape.
Austin looked at you with wild eyes.
"Do it," You growled. Glaring at him.
"I don't want to, but I have to, I love you so much, y/n know that but sometimes you make me angry," Austin spoke. Pressing the muzzle of the gun to your forehead.
Before he could pull the trigger another sound of a gun firing cut through the air. Austin's eyes glazed over as he slumped down on top of you. You quickly pushing him off you.
"Y/n," Jay gasped out. Rushing over to you.
Jay helped you up.
"Jay," You gasped out. As you wrapped your arms around him. Hugging each other.
"I remember..." You sobbed out. As Jay hugged you tighter.
"It's okay, I've got you, he can't hurt you anymore," Jay spoke. Pulling away from you. You nodded. Feeling slightly dizzy.
Jay looked at you with concern. Your eyes rolled to the back of your head as you fainted. Jay quickly caught you picking you up and rushing out of the woods. He didn't stop running till he reached his truck. Opening the back door, place you gently down on the back seat. He closed the door. Quickly going to the driver's side. Opening the door and getting in. shutting the door. Jay turned the keys, putting the handbrake down, he started the truck, pressing his foot down hard on the accelerator. Speeding off towards the nearest hospital. Speeding through every red light.
Jay stopped at the emergency entrance, hopping out and opening the back door. Grabbing hold of you. He rushed into the hospital.
"Help my sister, she fainted," Jay shouted. Nurses rushed over to Jay, taking you out of his arms and onto a gurney. Wheeling you off, leaving Jay to look at the doors they took you through...
Jay sat on the uncomfortable chair, in the waiting room. Waiting for news on how you were. He looked up as he heard footsteps making their way over to him. Jay glared at Connor.
"Jay..." Connor started to say but Jay cut him off.
"You could have called me early when she came into this town," Jay grunted. Standing up.
"Jay..." Connor tried to speak again but Jay cut him off.
"Is she okay?" He asked.
"Yeah, just a concussion, and a dislocated shoulder," Connor spoke. Making Jay sigh.
"You can see her if you want," Connor spoke. Jay nodded his head. As he silently followed Connor to your room. Biting his tongue.
Jay quickly walked into your room. Feeling slightly relieved.
"Hey Jay," You spoke softly. Noticing Connor at the door. Your gaze turned back to your twin brother.
Jay quickly wrapped his arms around you. Making you let out a tiny groan as he bumped your shoulder. Jay loosened his grip. Pulling away and sitting on the side of the bed. Looking at you through tear-filled eyes.
"Come back to Chicago with me," Jay spoke. Your eyes glanced to the door to see Connor wasn't there. Your heart plummeting to the pit of your stomach. You nodded your head. Jay smiled brightly. Glad you were coming home with him.
"I'm going to go get something to eat, do you want something?" Jay asked. You nodded your head no, Jay hugged you again, before leaving to the vending machine.
Jay took out some spare change, putting it into the slot. Pressing the number on the vending machine. Jay's eyes wandered off. Seeing an officer get treated. He quickly grabbed his food, walking slowly. He listened to the conversation. Hearing your ex's name being bought up.
"He crashed into that car," Adam spoke. Jay put two and two together. Anger rising within him.
"I'm so glad you are okay," A nurse spoke.
"You teamed up with my sister's ex, what is wrong with you," Jay snapped. Glaring at Adam, as he stood in the door frame.
"I didn't know," Adam gasped out looking at Jay with a guilty expression.
"I hope you have a bad time sleeping at night," Jay bitterly spoke. Turning around and walking back to your room. Seeing a guy with brown hair holding flowers stand in the middle of the hallway looking into your room, a deflated look on his face. Jay arched an eyebrow. Walking up to him. He looked at what he was looking at, seeing Connor and you talking. Connor was holding your hand.
"Who are you?" Jay asked. Making Kyle jump in fright. Kyle turned to look at the person who spoke to him.
'Kyle, I saved, y/n when she first came here," Kyle responded. Making Jay nod thoughtfully.
"Thanks, but y/n is fine now, she's going back to Chicago," Jay spoke. Making Kyle's heart sink.
"Um, can you give these to her," Kyle spoke, handing Jay a boutique of flowers. Kyle turned around and left, looking dejected.
Jay listened in on what Connor and you were talking about.
"Jay wants me to go back to Chicago though, but to want to give us another try," You spoke. Making Connor smile.
"Me too, I will come back to Chicago with you," Connor spoke. Making you smile.
Jay quickly walked into the room just as Connor and you were about to kiss. Connor and you glanced at him. You arched your eyebrows at him. He shrugged putting the flowers on the side table. He wasn't sure where Kyle and you stood, and he didn't want to jeopardize the relationship that Connor and you had.
"I got you flowers, and also none of that PDA stuff, I just got you back I don't need Connor to hog you," Jay joked. Making Connor and you smile. Letting out a small laugh...
You stared at the dead body on the ground disgusted. Seems people still had it out for people.
“What we got?” You heard Hanks voice. You stood by him and Connor by you probably analysing the body.
“Dave Frank, 29, alpha male, worked at the little shop on this street called human goods” you frowned at the weird name.
“Ok” Hank took the tablet from the officer.
“Looks like he had a partner, 25 omega female Chelsey Lilac” your stomach sank a little. No matter how far in life you got, omegas will always be looked down on.
“Possible suspect?” Hank asked and the officer nodded. Hank handed you the tablet and you went through the briefing. Connor looked also as you scrolled through.
“We’ve got signs of struggle, signs of a possible fight, neighbours complain there is lots of yelling and crashing on this place” Officer Chris sighed.
“Domestic” you muttered and he nodded. You hated these cases, omegas trapped with an alpha they can’t escape from without some serious form of damage.
You hand fisted tightly, you needed air or something. You felt a hand go around yours and frowned looking to Connor. He looked at the body though and intertwined your fingers together. You clenched his hand tightly without realising finding some comfort in it.
“Stinks in here” Hank grumbled going outside. You let go of Connors hand and followed. You took a deep breath in of fresh air and sighed. You looked over the backyard, it hadn’t been taken care of in years. It smelt of rain, wet dirt and-
You frowned catching the scent of a frightened omega.
“Hank go inside” you said and he frowned.
“What? why?” The man asked.
“Just do it” you snapped and he raised his hands up and went inside.
You looked around noticing a shadow behind the large slip bin.
“Hello?” You said softly going closer.
You saw scared eyes shine in the light.
“Chelsey?” You asked and she nodded. You stood a meter away she was shaking and drenched from rain and mud.
“My names Detective Y/n” you said softly glancing to the door which Hank stood at staring at you.
“I didn’t mean too” she sobbed coming into the light.
“I-“ she stuttered as you glanced to the knife in her hand. She had blood on her, wounds on her head and arms old and new.
“Here” she handed you the knife and you stuttered.
“Y/n” Hank called you and she fled.
“He’s gonna hurt me” she whispered.
“All alphas are cruel” she added and you felt your heart clench.
“It’s alright” you said looking to Hank. You laid the weapon on the ground.
“I need you to stay there though please” you added and Hank frowned but stopped. You saw Connor come out the door also.
“Connor, stay there” you said and he frowned but stayed also.
“Two?” She whispered.
“Are you trapped?” You frowned at her questioned.
“Am I trapped?” You asked.
“Two alphas” she said.
“No, Connor isn’t an alpha, he’s-“ you couldn’t call him an android.
“He’s a deviant” you said.
“Oh” the girl muttered.
“One alpha” she added eyes darting. She was in shock, no doubt about that.
“He’s big” she said scared.
“Does he hurt you too? We can run!” She stood and grabbed you.
“No- no he doesn’t hurt me, he isn’t my alpha” you said holding the young woman’s arms.
“Doesn’t hurt you?” She said confused looking to him.
“Not yours” she mumbled.
“Chelsey I need you to come with me” you said and she tensed.
“Away from here” you added.
“Away” she repeated.
“Away” she nodded holding onto you. You tensed as she held you, she wanted comfort from another omega. She shook in your hold, both wet now from the rain, blood smeared on you also.
“Come on” you said softly leading her around the house and to a car.
“No alphas” you said as one went to get in. She nodded backing away and got a beta.
“I’ll see you at the station” you said to Chelsey and she nodded.
You sagged drained, your body was shaking from the cold, emotions haywire.
“Good job” You heard Hanks voice. You turned to him and he frowned. You wiped your eyes realising you were crying and went to his car. You and Connor had hitched a ride. You hid behind it the best you could from across the street. You took deep breaths and cursed softly.
Hank had followed you, worry in his eyes as you began to pace.
“Y/n” he called but you didn’t listen.
“Omega” you froze on the spot. Hank sighed as he stood in front of you, you stared at the ground shaking. He grabbed the back of your neck and tugged you close. You sighed leaning your head against his shoulder. He gently massaged the back of your neck while you calmed down.
“Hank?” You heard Connor call before hearing him behind you.
“Is everything alright?” He asked and you smiled faintly, he still didn’t understand humans.
“Just worked up” Hank said and you moved to rest your cheek on him instead. You wrapped your arms around him without thinking, enjoying his warmth and smell.
“Very worked up” he muttered. You felt a warm hand on your back and glanced to Connor who offered a kind smile.
“You’re freezing detective” he said softly and you nodded.
“No shit” you said softly.
“Lieutenant?” Someone called and you tensed.
“Oh-“ the officer stood a little awkward.
“Connor” Hank said and you frowned.
“I’ll be back” he said to you rather softly and you nodded. You looked to Connor after letting go, you shuddered, your teeth chattering.
“I can warm you up detective” he said and you flushed.
“I have inbuilt heaters, see?” He took your hand and rested it on his stomach. You frowned at the amount of warmth coming from him.
“Please don’t blow up” you muttered going closer.
“I can assure you I won’t” he smiled and you nodded.
“I suggest you put your arms around me detective” he said after your awkward stance.
“Oh- Connor the reason I did that to Hank-“ you trailed off embarrassed.
“He’s an alpha” Connor said and you nodded sighing.
“I’ve bonded to him in a sense so he’s my source of comfort is all, just don’t tell him that” you muttered slowly putting your arms around the android. You sighed feeling his warmth seeping through.
“I should take you everywhere” you said without thinking and rested your cheek on his chest.
“You’re so warm” you hummed contently. You tensed slightly when one hand rested on your back and the other on your neck.
“The lieutenant did this” Connor said softly as he massaged your neck lightly.
“Calms me down” you mumbled.
Your heart was pounding but you didn’t want to let go of him. To be honest you had bonded to both of them in a sense, your little family, just you couldn’t tell them. When you weren’t around them it was lonely, you felt empty almost, you had gotten use to be alone when you left home, but when you met Hank it just crumbled.
“Right-“ Hank had come back and obviously stood shocked.
“I have inbuilt heaters” Connor said simply.
“You should feel how warm he is” you said chuckling.
“Jesus” Hank muttered shaking his head.
“Come on let’s get you home” he sighed.
“What about paper work?” You let Connor go and looked to Hank.
“What about it? Do it tomorrow” he shrugged and you smiled slightly.
As you pulled up to your house you got everyone inside and out of the rain.
“Curse this weather” you said turning on your lights.
“Where’s the damn remote!” You yelled in the lounge rummaging.
“Heater on” Connor said and it turned on.
“Oh” you muttered.
“I forgot it could do that” you said.
“You want a towel?” You asked them both. Connor nodded while Hank shrugged.
You went to your cupboard and pulled out some towels. You gave the two men some and one for yourself.
“I need a warm shower and PJ’s” you said cursing sticky clothes.
“Detective?” Connor asked.
“Yeah?” You said.
“Is it alright if I stay here tonight?” He asked and you frowned. Usually he stayed with Hank.
“Yeah if you want too” you shrugged.
“You wanna sleep over too Hank?” You grinned at him and he glared.
“Fuck you” he said and you laughed.
“I need a drink” he muttered running a hand down his face. You looked a little too long, wet hair slicked back down from him pushing it out the way, clothes drenched defining his surprising body sculpture.
“There should be some in the cupboard” you said.
“It’s alright I need to change clothes” he said hanging your towel on the kitchen chair.
“Goodnight lieutenant” Connor said.
“Night” Hank waved.
You followed him out and stood under your veranda.
“You be ok with him?” Hank turned back to you.
“Connor? Yeah” you said and he nodded.
“You ok?” He added and you nodded.
“I’ll-“ you shrugged.
“Get through it” you sighed. Hank sighed like he wanted to say something, he stood a little tense before leaving to his car. Your heart sank a bit and gave a small wave before heading inside.
“I have to shower” you said looking for Connor.
“Connor?” You called hearing water running. You went to your bathroom and frowned seeing him pouring a bath.
“What are you doing?” You asked as he stood.
“Running you a bath” he said. Your heart swelled at the thought.
“I don’t normally take baths” you chuckled and he frowned.
“But I’ll jump in” you added quickly.
“I’ve noted it for next time” he nodded and you frowned next time?
“Thanks” you said again softly as it filled.
“I don’t know what clothes to give you, you could try a pair of PJ pants and top, I always buy mine too big” you said.
“I won’t intrude on your personal belongings detective” he said.
“Oh- right” you mumbled embarrassed.
“Let me get you some hang on” you walked to your bedroom. Connor followed but stayed by the door as you shifted through clothes.
“Uh try these” you said handing him a pair of plain grey PJ’s.
“You’ll need a towel” you moved passed him and grabbed a fresh towel.
“Uh, put your clothes-“ you looked around.
“In the basket” you said grabbing the washing basket.
“I’ll hang them up after my bath” you said and he nodded.
“Alright” you said.
“I’ll be ok detective” Connor smiled.
“Ok” you smiled going to the bath.
You sunk into the water and sighed the warmth soothing your muscles.
Your eyes closed as you thought back to the case, the young woman had gripped your tightly, when she asked if you were trapped, you were confused. Hank wasn’t your alpha and Connor was, well Connor. You tried not to think about it as the water started to go cold.
You drained the bath and hoped out drying yourself. You forgot to bring clothes you realised and cursed. You peeked out the door and saw Connor on the couch. You quickly snuck to your bedroom and closed your door.
You got dressed and did your hair up messily before heading back out.
“Did they fit?” You asked as he stood. You held back a laugh at how the shirt looked like a big crop top on him.
“Is something funny?” He asked confused and you laughed.
“You look like some sport obsessed teenager” you laughed.
“I’m sorry Con” you said smiling.
“I’m afraid they’re a bit small” he smiled.
“If it’s too uncomfortable take the shirt off” you spoke without thinking again.
“When I’m in bed” you added quickly as he gripped the hem. You glanced to your pull out couch, did he sleep? Power down? Something.
“Do you want a bed?” You asked.
“I don’t require a bed” he said and you frowned slightly.
“But I’d like one” he smiled.
“Alright” you chuckled shaking your head. You struggled with the pull out bed, it finally click and swung out a bit to quick.
“Fuck!” You said tensing as it unfolded itself.
“They really should put warnings on these things” you mumbled. You went to the cupboard and found some sheets and unused pillows.
You set his bed up as he watched intently.
“Right, you want a blanket?” You asked.
“Just have a blanket” you added quickly knowing he would say something like he didn’t require one but wanted one.
“What’s the time” you muttered glancing to your band.
“1 in the morning” you groaned.
“I’m going to bed, make yourself comfortable, I don’t know what you do with Hank” you said nervously chuckling.
“Thank you detective” he said sitting down.
“Y/n” you said and he frowned.
“You can call me Y/n out of work I’ve told you this” you chuckled softly.
“Well, goodnight Y/n” he said and you felt your heart skip.
“Goodnight Connor” you smiled heading to bed.
You laid awake for a while a smile on your face, Connor was adorable in things he did, still learning human emotions and how to speak like one, it was funny. You didn’t expect Hank to embrace you like that either, you melted in it though, you felt like you were in heaven despite the depressing rain and situation. His hand felt nice on your neck gently massaging, his natural scent had seeped through the alcohol and the smell of Sumo on his clothes. Connor had a fresh smell you guess, his clothes were always clean unless soaked in the rain. A neutral scent almost, it was nice for a change. Slumber eventually took you, the sound of rain lulling you to a deep sleep.
