I know that I am barely active on here and have barely anybody who follows me but I wanted to share my commission sheet in case anyone wanted to commission me for anything. I am quite busy with college and my part-time job, but as a wise man once said, "$20 is $20" so I'm willing to take any commissions that follow my boundaries, but just expect it to take a while (maybe a week or two max?) Here's a quick summary of everything on the sheets:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'll draw traditionally or digitally
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'll make reference sheets for existing characters, or make up brand new characters for you so long as I have something to go off of, and they can fit in whichever fictional world you want
Tumblr media
I'll make a maximum of one page of a comic of whichever characters you want
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here are some examples of my digital and traditional artwork
Tumblr media
My most accessible form of payment is PayPal, but I'm also willing to accept other methods of payment such as Discord Nitro or RoBux since I use those things often (not discord Nitro but I kinda wanna try it tho I don't wanna pay for it myself lol)
I didn't mention it on the sheets but if you want your art in the highest possible quality I can email it to you
I'm opening commissions because I've always wanted to do it but didn't feel like making a sheet, but also because money is money and I need to pay for stuff like rent and food it's so expensive here ;-;
I am not great with high detail or furries, but I am still willing to attempt it because I'll be paid for it, and I do care about quality when requested to make something for others. I am not the best with backgrounds, so even if you want a more detailed one, it might still look bad or off and I apologize in advance for that.
I am willing to draw NSFW but I will not draw minors, and you can't request it as a minor either, this is for adults only.
Also, I am against AI art, and I am against my art being used for AI, so please don't do that because this took me over ten years of constant practice and analysis to build the skills and experience that I have today, and even nowadays, it takes me more and more time to reach the quality that I try to aim for.

OMG YOU'RE SEVENTEEN?? (I've been following you for months and I didn't once read the pinned message beyond the line about no AI and NFTs lmao) YOUR ART IS SO CRISPY I THOUGHT YOU WERE A PRO ARTIST AROUND 30 WTF
(sorry for the yelling via text)
HOW DID YOU GET SO GOOD!! (Tips on lineart please?) WE'RE THE SAME AGE, BUT HALF OF MY ART IS SHIT AND THE OTHER HALF IS FART
ALL HAIL LITTLE RED FOOL, BESTOW THY GREATNESS UPON THOU MERE MORTAL SERVANTS
But in all seriousness, any tips on, like I said, lineart or just digital art in general? (I just started digital, and... Ten hours of work and I'm just on base colors 😎🕶️🤏🥲) I love, LOVE your style and especially COLOR! How do you tie it all together? Like, I'm 17 too, but I'm not even close to your stuff?? I'm scared as fuck from ever trying color traditionally because I spend SO MUCH TIME ON A SKETCH, so I just picked up digital and HOURS LATER IT'S STILL AWFUL
Sorry for the rambling and repeating, man, it's been a long day and it's late in the Balkans... Don't let the rambling force you into answering tho
Have a good one. ->excited fellow artist
(tip of the day: did you know that in Romanian, moon and month are the same word, with the same pronunciation, spelling and plural? It's called: lună [loonuh] and I think it comes from latin, since Romanian is a heavily latin language, with bits of french and turkish (HEAVY bits), dacian, slavic, italian)
OUAHFSHD THANK YOU SO MUCH I’M REALLY HAPPY YOU LIKE MY ART!! Also I’m sure your art is better than you think it is (we generally tend to view our own creations as worse than others because we’re the ones that made them, don’t worry I’m the same as well ajdbsjd) but yeah I’ll be happy to give you some tips and stuff! (and yeah I never colour traditionally either I just leave everything in plain biro because I don’t want to mess it up lol)
(I haven’t seen your art so these will probably be more general tips but hopefully they’ll help a bit, also keep in mind that I’m not a professional so this will be more about what has worked for me but I hope it might help you a bit)
So for stuff like lineart, avoid using chicken-scratches—it might seem easier or less daunting to do shorter overlapping lines like that but it will give your sketches and drawings that overall fuzzy look, the trick is to have longer confident strokes. It might seem a bit tricky at first if you haven’t done it before so don’t worry it happens but if you keep practicing they’ll eventually look smoother and less shaky. For the longer lines it better to draw from either your elbow or shoulder, and by that I mean keeping your wrist still and letting the larger parts of your arm do most of the work—this will also help your wrist in the long run. For things like shorter lines and smaller details then absolutely use your hand to move the pen, but generally try to use your elbow and shoulder as it will help you get those longer smoother lines. Also this is just a personal preference of mine but I generally use brushes that have a bit of pressure sensitivity which helps add some line weight. If you don’t have pressure sensitivity another way you can get line weight is by taking an eraser to some of the edges and narrowing some parts.
For colours it mainly depends on the lighting—lighting is everything and will affect how the rest of the colours will look, so it’s important to have an idea of the brightness and colour of your lighting. The background also plays an important role in picking colours for me as well as it helps provide colour context and makes it easier to pick colours by eye if you want a certain mood. If you want a more dependable way on getting colours to match up then I’d recommend having a layer that’s just colour on top of the rest of your piece—you can play around with the blending modes and opacity, I mainly use either an overlay layer with a medium colour that’s slightly desaturated or a colour burn layer with a light saturated colour; most of the time I use colour burn because if you put it over your lineart then it will also tint the parts of your lineart or sketch that’s at a lower opacity too. But with figuring out colours I’d highly recommend researching some stuff about colour theory, there are a lot of good and easy to understand explanations and art tutorials on YouTube so I would recommend starting there (unfortunately I can’t link recommend specific videos because my playlists are a mess ajdbsjdbsj but some good channels to learn from are Sinix Design, Marc Brunet and Marco Bucci).
In terms of general digital art tips, ALWAYS FLIP YOUR CANVAS. You will not believe the amount of times I’ve looked at a drawing and thought it looked pretty good, flipped the canvas and found that everything’s wonky. In cases like these the liquify tool is your best friend, as well as the lasso tool and transform tools, as well as just manually fixing them by redrawing some parts. Also use as many layers as you need, and by this I mean if you’re working on your sketch, lineart or colouring or whatever and you want to do something you’re not sure you’ll like, duplicate the layers so you have a backup in case it goes wrong and you want to go back. When I say use as many layers as you need I mean use as many as you need, these are some of mine and they’re all from just one sketch because I get really anxious about messing stuff up lol, also don’t be afraid of drawing separate parts on separate layers and merging them afterwards if you want.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also take your time, unless you have a deadline don’t feel like you have to complete a drawing within a certain timeframe, if you want to get faster at drawing then that’s great but don’t feel like you need to push yourself, especially if you’re just starting. Practice takes time and patience is your best friend, and you probably hear lots of other artists saying this but trust the process. You might get to a bit you’re struggling with and not like it and want to abandon the drawing, but I found that rather than saying “this is bad” or “this is wrong” start asking “how can I make this work” because a change in mindset can help you a lot with art. Also don’t feel like you have to reach certain milestones with your art by certain points either, like with the age thing and comparing your progress with other artists of either the same or different ages, because it can make you feel worse about your art. Trust me there are some artists younger than me who are like 14 or 15 who’s art I envy and—again with the mindset thing—instead of getting down that your art isn’t similar to their’s or worrying that you’re “behind” in your artistic development (there is no such thing btw everyone learns at different ages and speeds so don’t feel bad if you haven’t progressed as much as you would have liked to) it helps to ask what you like about their art and what you would like to incorporate into your own—this has helped me learn and improve a lot faster.
I don’t know if I have any more tips at the moment, but I hope that answered some of your questions! (also sorry it’s a bit long or some bits don’t make a lot of sense I like to ramble a bit lol) (also also thank you for the little fact as well!)
Have a nice day anon 🧡

your art style is so yummy 🚶‍♀️ If you’re up for it, i wonder how Ben would look in your style! 🤸‍♀️ Also, what inspires you and how long did it take you settle on this art style ⁉️⁉️
thank you so much!! ive been planning on drawing a lot of characters, including ben, but I've been so focused on toby lately lol so idk when ill draw them. i want to tho!! what inspires me, actually, is rococo art believe it or not. I've been planning on making a new style that reflects that more. when I drew traditionally a few years ago, it had more of that ethereal look and i wanna go back to that but in digital haha. honestly, i just randomly switched to this style about a year ago. i didn't really develop it, i kinda just did it one day when i drew that one masky fanart (which i now don't like at all). however, it did take me a few months to get more comfortable with it. I'm still working on some styles!! i don't want to have one style because i think its boring and limiting for me, so I'm still experimenting :]

You okay? What makes your think so bad of yourself? :(
Ahhhh. I'm feeling better than earlier, after taking a nap.
And I don't fuckin know. While having my friend on the phone, and showing him my art, I came across old stuff I made for one of my ex-friends. One who I broke the friendship with while in a fight with her. She is a streamer and I used to make her emotes, screens, pannels, etc... And it reminded me about some of the shit she said to me.
Like. I drew her stuff more in my 'cartoonish' style. Because it's simple, and good for emotes than something more detailed. At least imo. And to her request, I showed her my actual artstyle. To which I got the comment like 'Well. I think you should stick to the cartoonish style. Because I think your artstyle kinda sucks'. Like yes, thank you. Great words to hear from a friend.
That's one thing that I remembered that got me in that mode but also. I saw a drawing I made for her birthday. As a gift. Of her and her cat. And I even went out of my way to do it traditionally instead of digitally, even tho I don't really do traditional drawing anymore. Made me remember the other gifts I got her. I was trying to be thoughtfull. And then the time came where I was doing my driving license, and work was hell. I barely had any freetime, so I couldn't join in on her stream as much as before.
She knew that, because we had talked about this before. But damn. It wasn't as accepted as I was thinking. The last time I joined in on her stream, it was almost her birthday. And there was some... hostility towards me in the stream from her? I brushed it off, and just thought she's stressed. But in discord I told her that I need a little longer to send her the gifts i got her. (again, it's not like I had that much freetime) And man. She read it, while streaming, and it was obvious that she felt so bad suddenly. For that moment at least.
Long story short, after the stream, she messaged me back. Told me that she had been acitvely ignoring me. Even ignored my birthday (that was a month prior) because she was angry that I wasn't as much active in her stream as before.
And boy oh boy. That hurt. Look, I am already thinking of myself as the shittiest friend, and everyone secretly hates me. Even tho I am aware thats not the case. So to hear that you have been ignored on purpose, because someone is butthurt, is like GREAT for the self esteem (spoiler: its not) And there was zero remorse coming from her. Even putting the blame on me, when I asked why she didn't simply tell me how she's feeling. (because surprise!!!! I am not a mind reader!!!!) And then I just... couldn't take that anymore. This was not a friendship I wanted to be in. (there had been other things said before, but I always ignored it) So I ended that friendship there.
........................ and yeah well. Seeing my old art for her, reminded me of all that shit and idk I felt pretty shitty. I should actually simply delete that stuff. I don't know why i haven't yet.
I'm sorry I ranted so much

Traditional, Tradigital, [+mixed] artists of Artfight
Tumblr media
Why am I doing this?
Simple. For a long time, there’s been a stigma in general about traditional artists, people forget that it’s a whole different ballgame and requires a different set of skills and resources to draw/paint/create in the non-digital world, and must also be respected just as much as digital. Some are even beginners.
Tumblr media
Confused about some of the terms?? Here are some terms;
Tradigital: Someone who draws traditionally but scans/takes a picture and finishes art digitally. This can also be done with animations! Mixed: someone who makes and posts both digital and traditional art/content. They may also even do Tradigital art.
Tumblr media
About me, AbyssalReid; When I was a kid I started off with traditional, and slowly had worked my way to digital art. Even tho my work is pretty much all digital these days. I still have mass respect for the traditional artists who also work very hard to make the stuff they make!
So let's give them that love!
And if you fit the description of a traditional artist, tradigital artist or you are Mixed, then Reblog + Comment a link to your Artfight!
If you are none of these and still want to reblog to show support? DO IT!

Hello! I am here for the Art Ask Game! ^_^)
How many different sketches do you usually have until your piece is finished?
A piece from this year that you're really proud of?
Something you would like to improve on?
What's something you hope people notice when looking at your art?
ooo i love answering asks >:] 💜 Thank you for sending some! (warning: long post)
1. How many different sketches do you usually have until your piece is finished?
If it’s a commission (that doesn’t require drawing the exact reference), I have 4 stages of sketching:
Stage 1. Ideas sketching. I do stickmans and general shapes that are most understandable to me. Doesn’t have to be clean, just enough for me to understand how I will place my elements in the paper, how movement flows, how the posture will look, etc etc. Here are some of my stage 1 sketches:
This one’s for a collab painting I will do with a friend. That’s our sketches while conceptualizing.
Tumblr media
These are my concept sketches for the recent splatoon commission I did. For commissions, I always do 3-6 sketches of different poses when given freedom, which I will then present to my client and see which one they like best and I’ll go with it (bc I’m indecisive too LMAO)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stage 2: Presentable concept sketch. When I have these ideas pinned down, I’ll make a more presentable version of the sketch to send to the client. That means visible body shape & posture, key facial expressions, mvt indications, etc. Following the splatoon commission sketches, here’s their stage 2:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stage 3: Initial sketch on paper. When the client chose which posing is best, I’ll sketch it down on paper. I use rule of thirds, mark the margins, make sure the proportions are aligned and correct before I do the last stage (bc it’s going to be tedious to readjust everything once I’ve noticed it’s not centered or smth like that). I forgot to take a picture of the other posing’s stage 3, but it’s like this!
Tumblr media
Stage 4: Lineart sketching. DO NOT jump straight to hard lineart, it will leave marks or stains when you erase. Sketch lightly first with an HB or 2B or any B pencils, honestly it’s in your hand’s pressure control and how you hold the pencil, but personally HB or 2B is good. This stage can be messy as long as the main lineart is shaping.
Tumblr media
After that, I can start 1st stage of lineart! But this is all when I do commissions or serious pieces tho. If I’m sketching for fun, I just do 1 sketch then straight to lineart ^^
2. A piece from this year that you’re really proud of?
Honestly, I’m still proud of my concept art projects for my 2D and 3D animation subjects! When I look at it, it makes me feel like a professional concept artist☺️ It’s a warm feeling seeing my old OCs drawn like they’re posted in artstation or something hahah.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. Something you would like to improve on?
I would like to improve on a lot of things, but getting started & staying consistent is mostly my obstacle when I want to improve. I want to learn how to draw:
Hair and different types of it. Hair is the thing I hate looking at in my drawings bc I can’t get it to look how I want it to.
Backgrounds - landscapes, cityscapes, seascape, etc (and how to be patient drawing it bc I always give up halfway LMAO)
Reflective surfaces
Different textures (fuzzy texture, chrome, rough, etc)
Bokeh & blurs (traditionally, on paper)
Shadows of two or more light sources crossing together.
Plants and flowers. Always so embarrassing to draw a piece with flora in it bc they look so elementary level LMAO I absolutely love flowers, but god have you seen my “Unbosom” artwork, I was NOT proud of how I drew petunias ;w;
Animals. I will not be showing my pathetic attempts in sketching a horse from memory, but you can imagine how horrible it was for me to want to improve on drawing animals.
Musical instruments. Still a struggle, especially when instruments are drawn from a different angle like that one time I did the Issei Noro digital fanart.
Fire and water.
4. What’s something you hope people notice when looking at your art?
I hope people notice the composition! I’m trying to be mindful of space, visual weight, and shapes of the movement or the posing, they contribute a lot to how to make a drawing less static or empty looking. But honestly, if the viewers didn’t notice, that’s fine ^^

1 - 23 :3
cracks knuckles okay
1. how would you describe your art style? uhhhhhhhh, maybe "safe" is the word rn. whenever I think of my art style, what comes to mind is just how little I've been pushing things with it. I wanna change that ;D
2. what's your favorite thing about your style? I realize I like to use semi-realistic proportions, its cool how comfortable I've gotten with drawing faces and bodies
3. what's your least favorite thing about your style? It's so static man. same thing I said for the first question, I don't think anything really looks bad, but it just is lacking in creativity in comparison to the older art that should be looking worse than what I do now. I prefer my older stuff ;D (looking at you inktobertale2021.. where did it all go wrong)
4. favorite thing to draw? regular ol people. human characters are def more in my comfort zone, which explains why I keep hitting skeletons with the humanization ray (also I prefer to draw feminine characters)
5. least favorite thing to draw? I can't even say I rlly dislike it cuz of how rarely I even do it, but I am procrastinating so hard on learning backgrounds..
6. warm colors or cool colors? cool colors are my fav, but i find it easier to work with warm ones (I used to put a cool overlay over all my warm toned drawings hgdhfg)
7. show us a WIP behold, the wip ever. this drawing... was supposed to be posted on august 2022. and then, it was supposed to be posted on dec 21st, dream and nightmares birthday. (atp if I do end up wanting to finish this idea again, I'll probably just scrap it and start over)
Tumblr media
8. what's the most fun and least fun parts about your process? most fun is flat color and rendering. (though I rarely do the latter anymore) and for least fun, tbh a lot of the sketching part tends to be difficult for me, sometimes its cool tho
9. show us a finished piece alongside the original sketch example from when sketching was fun
Tumblr media Tumblr media
10. how many different sketches do you usually have until your piece is finished? I think I do need to make more of at least thumbnail sketches tbh.. I usually just make one and keep editing it, trusting the process. (and that fails like 70% of the time. woww wonder why sketching isnt fun for me-) 11. show us the last thing you drew, be it a finished piece or a small doodle can this count,,
Tumblr media
12. show us an old drawing first deltarune drawing. here's the redraw I later made of this :3 (also old hsgdhgf)
Tumblr media
13. how long do you usually take one a piece? depends. I'll have like 276478923 wips started, and then I get a random idea that I just have to do right at that moment, and I'll get it done in like 1-4 hours. meanwhile old sketches start to rot and maybe if its lucky I'll revisit it before my motivation dies and my style is too different to wanna continue from where I left off 14. digital or traditional? digital all the way, i've gotten too dependent on the transform tool + liquefy ;D (and many other things tbh but I'd be here all day if I tried comparing them more jhdjdf)
15. if digital, what program do you use? procreate, the layouts on other drawing programs scare me
16. favorite media to work with when drawing traditionally pen on paper (am I understanding this right wdym media-)
17. what do you love getting compliments about? I like when people enjoy the humanizations I come up with, and also original designs in general 18. are you satisfied with the attention your art usually gets? hmmm yeah
19. how often do you draw? very often, I just don't have finished things to share most days
20. a piece from this year that you're really proud of :3
Tumblr media
21. something you would like to improve on the dynamicness (well, the lack of it) of everything, as said before
22. what inspires you? Ink sans and a ton of creators in this fandom (also animated shows and movies, I love animation)
23. what's something you hope people notice when looking at your art? idk tbh, just notice it at all and I'm happy :>

oh the woes of having multiple hobbies....
i think it being artfight month is making me sink back into the 'i shouldn't want to do anythin but draw until this is done' mood i usually have during the semester which is.. ick, kinda
the other day i had the urge to write (unmedicated too!! that doesn't happen very often anymore!) and i should've jus acted upon that but i ended up guilttripping myself w the whole 'you should do art instead its only 30 days its only once a year' which is already so suffocating. i ended up doing neither actually in part bc i psyched myself out abt making a choice so in the nd i made no choice (typical when unmedicated so this is the okay-ish norm tbh) and think i tired myself out enough to go to sleep. i woke up to an art file on my laptop so i intented to start smth i guess
also i think checking out an ipad from campus during the semester is so much easier to draw on vs the hassle that is drawing on my display tablet these days. i miss my wacom if only bc it was wireless and thin and easy to power on and get going. with this new tablet i have to plug in 3 diff cords and its bulkier nd i gotta scoot my laptop on my desk to still be in reach bc the tablet has no touch function and it takes A LOT of power and effort out of my laptop thats 12 yrs old now. it makes drawing digitally that much more of a chore tbh and is partially the reason i've doodled so much traditionally in the past year and kept all my digital art for uni work only
which another point. is uh. idk i think i'm rambling now but. last year i got super excited for artfight and drafted a bunch of stuff digitally and was sitting at the coffee table in the main room of my apt for the first time in so long and it was going well until i got rly into tetherverse again n started working on the sequel like mad and that stole away a lot of my drawing motivation. i had two handfuls of of artfight attacks sketched and only ever finished a SINGLE one last year which was terribly disappointing. and then i think realizing that at the end of the month absolutely killed my desire to work on the writing project i'd grown so passionate about too. vicious cycle all around rly.
i dont want it to be llike that this year but once again now that artfight is here even tho its a fun thing i've made it a "requirement" in my mind which kills all my passion to work on it. i think the term is... obligation? when something turns from doing it for fun into an obligation i Have to complete then i lose allllllll motivation and desire to do it. it's THEEE reason i'm always telling my dad i could never write books for a living, bc writing is a hobby first nd foremost and although i enjoy it a lot i know as soon as i become tied down to a project and i Have To complete it or face consequences then it will suck all the fun out of it
this is the same way for school and part of the reason uni's been so hard since.... ever, really, and it's jus taken me long to realise it. i get really into an art project at the start and then as deadlines and check-ins and such creep up i become less and less engaged. i have no trouble completing things in one sitting if given the time to do so if i'm 100% invested and engaged. during spring break 2022 i stayed up for almost three nights and two days and did nothing but research and write almost 25k for a fic opener. if i had work or anything else those days i literally cannot recall. the only thing i remember doing is taking a break to walk 15min to go and pay rent and that's when it rly set in how much caffeine i'd had and how long i'd been up writing.
all of that to say that if i'm into something i can waste away working until it's done. i've said this before bit making a wip folder for art Killed™ my art creating process. i used to have one file open and work on it until it was done, and if that took me more than one full day then i'd sleep on it and finish it the very next day. i don't rmember that happening very often. now i leave things unfinished all the time and its terrible. i also have a Lot Less free time to be fair but also. also. i cannot multitask so as soon as i save a wip and move on to the next it fucking bites the dust. i've gotten into the habit of leaving smth unfinished in another window on csp in hopes that i'll jump bck to it but i stopped that after a while bc i jus collect windows like i collect internet browser tabs.
i also think to go along w the time thing.. i have to mentally acknowledge that i have sufficient time to devote to smth. i'm not the type of person that can do smth for 15 min then jump up and do smth else. if i could write 100 words a day for a fic every day then i'd have far, far less wips than i do now. its harder especially to do this for fic bc a lot of what i do is longer work and sometimes i have to sink into it. if i'm writing for a 50k+ fic i haven't touched for even a month then i need time to go over what i have and what my plans are. it's much harder to work on a longer fic after a bit has passed than it is to pick up a shorter one bc it requires less time to dive back into the world. especially if its been like 6mo-1yr, before i even start writing again i gotta reread everything i've written up to that point. that takes more than a day, and i might get tired and move on to smth else before i've even finished rereading which is so exhausting. it's exhausting to work on so many diff things at once.
with art that means i gotta have time to fight w my display tablet and get everything settled. it takes so much work and effort that if i only have a couple hours, i feel like even that's not enough bc i know i'll have to stop before i'm done. if it takes me 90 minutes to get into drawing and i gotta be ready to leave in another 30 then like whats???? the point rly???? that's how i think tho!!!! it sucks !!!!! if i'm up at 8am but ik i have smth to do at 5p then my whole day revolves around that thing happening in 9 hrs. when it hits 12p i theoretically have enough time to do smth but executive dysfunction makes it hard to pick a singular task to prioritize, and when its 3hrs away from w/e i have to do suddenly nothing is worth it anymore. i'm very much a 'sink into it' creative person which means i cannot jus dive in and work on smth. i gotta have music, i gotta have some focus, i gotta be comfortable, i gotta have my mood set to w/e i'm doing, i gotta know what direction i'm going in,a nd i gotta have energy and enthusiasm to do said creative task. all of that aligning w/ inattentive adhd is so hard and makes life so miserable, but this is compounded even moreeeeeee by not being able to work unless i make my mind feel like i have ample time to do so. mainly bc if i get rly into smth then have to stop for an obligation that i'd rather do less (mainly work! rather would do anything but work but alas) than what i'm doing currently then it drains all my energy very rapidly and i get so disappointed. w/e i'm doing after, whether it be work or class or w/e, is with an air of such disdain bc it interrupted the 'special thing i was doing' that it makes life hell in all honesty. i want to put myself thru that the least amount of times possible which is why i never start anything i know i'll have to put down w/o being able to finish. let me rephrase that. being able to finish as i'd like it. working on a super long fic but writing enough for a chapter or running out of steam on my own and finishing a scene and then being dragged away to smth else is fine, bc i've "finished" on my end even if not in full. it's being interrupted in the middle of the process when i'm not ready to quit, basically. that kind of "finished" is what i mean. if i have 2 hrs and it takes me an hr to find references and i'm not exhausted after that then another 20m to sketch smth decent and only with like half an hr or so left am i into what i'm doing then what's the point?? especially when, as established, i can push a drawing into the wip folder and forget abt it if i'm no longer "into it" when i'm back and have time to draw again.
long rambling i'm tired of but basically it's the season of drawing obligations again and i wanna try this year to have fun and do what i want but ALSo not feel guilty abt doing smth that is not drawing for other ppl, which i already do so much of year round anyway (i love it, this is not a complaint). i wanna be able to write and play pkmn and read and do whatever and not feel like i Have to be artfighting every second of the day.

This is a nice way to poke around peeps, batty buddy! Thanks for leaving this open to grab (I hope what I'm doing in replying like this is fine)
Alright, let's unpack:
Currently, I'm working on 6 sequential artworks for my usual rarepair because I have a month without doing something for them and since the past year I have this thing dated to be posted on 11/11 (tomorrow).
Tho, a few hours ago I finished setting up a cardboard box to be my new photoshoot lightbox... tho I will need to delay the testing of it because I discovered my trusty lightbulb lamp broke u_u
This was quite a sunny weekend! Today the sun was so strong it helped to dry clothes and of course, the glue and painting I applied to the cardboard box I mentioned before x) So, it was a productive weekend with what I can manage in my current creative energy.
You already know what project and why I'm excited about it coff ISAID-
I doubt you want to know how many WIPs I put off for years. LMAOOO, there are too many to count, but if I need to pick one, it's making a Meet the Artist sort of presentation (I have the sketch, but I haven't inked it… since February orz).
My color scheme to go is usually the Magenta/Cyan/Yellow combo, LOL, but I like to pick other colors from this palette!
Tumblr media
Show finished recently: Batman Animated Season 01! It is one of my oldest visual inspos, with the clear sharp grimdark + art deco mix that characterizes the cast and mature themes it shows. Show started recently: Scooby Doo Mystery Inc; I'm taking so many screenshots because the backgrounds with those grunge textures and abandoned feel is hella rad!
Comfort characters: I've been with the same rascals you know for three years right now. Four? LOL It's difficult for me to get attached this hard and for a long time to fictional characters. Though I can't call him a comfort character, I enjoyed the Penguin on Batman Animated! There was an EP where they let him show such an awkward and gentlemanly side that I just WANTED TO SQUISH HIM.
Books read: AFTER THREE YEARS I FINISHED KING'S DANSE MACABREEEEE. I saved lots and lots of QUOTES I will be citing and using in my work for decades to come MUHAHAHA coff I want to start reading NEXT YEAR Frankenstein: I left it half there idk why so, I will need to start over. It's for the better.
Someone that inspires me… Y O U The end
Re-reading/Rewatching: in my bookcase, I always have The Little Prince and Lovecraft Anthologies (quite the contrast, eh?). Now if we go very personal-intimate: Neverending Story will always be absolutely groundbreaking to me, it really deserves its in-book title of "the book of all books". In the movie department, I'll never get tired of Scooby Doo's animated movies between 1990-2000s, the animation and storytelling were top! In a memory stick, I have tho Treasure Planet and Atlantis: Los Empire for similar reasons.
About the rewatch/re-reading effects mmm I think it affects me but to certain games: movies and series are unilateral in interaction, with games the interaction depends on you and I admit even if I like a game with all my might… there's always a level or part of the story I loathe to do again orz
Collecting wise: I never was into it until robot hell tackled me and it made me brave to spend and be more versed in buying this or that figures and toys was quite an experience. Out of that… I print official artworks and plaster them in collages around my journal, that counts? xDU I don't live in a place where merch is easy to get. And yes I draw fanart so technically I printed my own merch too skdfhskjdhf
Laughing is a rare thing from me daily I'll refrain from replying because *explodes*
I personally see my art better as stickers and postcards in format… I never designed art for t-shirts and such… or even tattoos idk, I feel a tad uncomfortable in general to take my art in such bold ways? Something rare because I worked before doing logotypes and such mmmm
I'm stupidly multifacetic x'D From drawing traditionally and digitally with inks, watercolors, and acrylics to then sculpting with clay, and cold porcelain to then designing maquettes for packaging (I'm learning to use the cutting plotter) without counting baby steps knowledge on game coding… I would LOVE to sew my own plush toys but %D I don't have that level of patience… same with SCULPTING IN 3D??? Idk, that's witchcraft to me!
… Too many hobbies you can guess from what I said before this point HAHAHA Aside from character design and goofy worldbuilding mmm Board game design? Big dream of mine.
Something new I learned: using the cutting machine!!! Was like going back to my Illustrator era roots sdkfjhsdjf On a personal level… I turned back to my witchy side and created my first magic servitor, my first spell on the 31 of October and I'm excited to try more things during rituals!
I think I have enough of this year? Even if at times I feel like it won me over… it wasn't so bad. But I need to take action in setting more habits I left aside like walking more frequently and respecting my sleep schedule (I slipped bad so many times in the year, I think that's why I'm feeling so sleepy lately).
That's all I think! I hope you find it educative entertaining haha
Thanks once more for the opportunity x)

I got this cute request a too long while ago and wanted to do something cool with the idea, since I ended up doodling a lot I’ll put them under a cut~
At first I thought of a group image with the whole family, but that would be kinda hard for me (since I’m bad at trawing groups of people and that is a VERY big family) so I decided to draw many small doodles to make up for it! (Plus the colored drawing up there lmao). Let’s get started then!
Tumblr media
OF COURSE the first one I drew was Fellby lmao I would change the colors of the drawing above so the clothes wouldn’t look as dark BUT there’s no going back with traditional art c’: so have this doodle and imagine his clothes with more vivid colors~ (plus, those glasses are too big for you dear)
Tumblr media
Who’s this cutie and what’s he laughing at? If you haven’t guessed this is Grillby! He’s wearing a shirt because I thought of it as the equivalent of his suit lmao
Tumblr media
Best pals!
As the days passed I got time to brainstorm a bit about this au of an au of an au. In this case the skeletons would’ve been created by Gaster but before the war so they could be used as weapons, but monsters were still defeated (maybe they refused to fight, who knows, I didn’t get that deep into the story lmao). I’ve not decided if Gaster would disappear during the war of he would still be alive when they got underground. The case is, the flames would be orphans of the war and they skeletons would decide to take care of them. Wow I’m so good at writing 10/10, let’s continue with the drawings and ignore my inability to write a solid story x’DD
Tumblr media
LITTLE SWABBY!<3 He’s A BIT big for a baby, but IT’S A SKETCH DON’T JUDGE ME *hides*  Jk, he didn’t come up as smol as I intended but still cute nonetheless
Tumblr media
It’s the uf bros turn to take care of the kids! Sans’ reading a book to Swabby, meanwhile Fellby and Grillby imitate Papyrus, who’s guarding the zone (which is absolutely unnecessary let me say, but let him be happy).
(I wanted to do something like this with the three pairs of skeletons but it didn’t happen lmao)
Tumblr media
Guess who’s taking care of the kitchen >:D
Tumblr media
I heard you wanted more smol Swabby? No? Have it nonetheless
Tumblr media
Taking care of three kids seemed to be a piece of cake, until they discovered the sour truth.
Well, that’ll be all ~ I hope you don’t mind I did it traditionally, it feels nice to do it from time to time. If you have a headcanon for the au (or, you know, a more solid story than mine lmao) feel free to share it!
TrioBlasterSets AU belongs to @antarestyl and @namekian-maoh !

I just realized I forgot to send you an ask, I'm sorry!!!! (And I hope you feel better soon :'))
Free pass to talk about Soap!!
BARK BARK WOOF WOOF BARK (<- me when Soap is mentioned in the vicinity)
I don't even know where to start tbh. I love him a lot. He's my discord kitten. My poor little meow meow. My war criminal. My fucking cinnamon apple-
Okay I've come back to this ask after fielding opinions from my friends and partners:
Tumblr media
So I guess this is what I'll go with!
This is gonna be long so I'll stick it all under a readmore (when I archive this post later I'll copy/paste the contents so they're preserved)
I project on Soap Hardcore, so I ran with his journal sketches and decided that he's a creative at heart! I likes to draw and paint, both digitally and traditionally (though he prefers traditional art since it's how he learned, and he likes the tactile stimulation of working with traditional materials like paints, pastels, etc.) He also plays the guitar and sings, though I feel like outside of Apoptosis he'd be really shy about his musical hobbies, especially singing.
I feel like he'd be kind of sporty too, though not really into competing; he takes part in stuff like swimming and football (soccer lol) just to enjoy them and get himself moving. I feel like he's a total fucking gym rat tho, either that or he invests in equipment so he can work out at home. Either way he exercises pretty much all the time; his free time is split between painting, singing, and throwing weights around.
I'm kind of torn on whether or not he'd be into airsoft. I'm leaning toward no, at least in canonverse, unless he's playing with people who are also in the military. I feel like he'd also be torn over it; it's a fun hobby he can take part in with his friends where no one dies and he gets to go shooty shooty, but after seeing actual combat, and war? It could get too much for him very quick. (And he might have weird feelings about playing with civilians, especially the ones who lowkey fetishize the military and go all out with tacticool gear. I don't think he'd hate or dislike them though, if that makes sense.).
In most of my AUs and in canonverse, Soap's ideal life is one where he can just...live unbothered. He can paint and make music and shoot the shit with his friends as much as he wants, without having to worry about the pressure of his fucked up family dynamic or the military. One where he has the space to heal from his trauma and actually grow into the person he wants to be. Money would be nice too, but he doesn't want to be super rich or have a lot of material items (though he does fantasize about it sometimes). Just enough to live quietly and comfortably, preferably with a lifelong companion (because he's a hopeless romantic at heart). Maybe a cat too.

hello!! i’m selena and i’m back after years of not being active on this site. i still go here for inspiration but i reblog lately. rn and i’m in a slump because we have been in quarantine in almost a month and i haven’t left the house in a solid two weeks (so i’m making this post to try to cope). yes, we’re all in quarantine rn and i know y’all are looking for ways to cope/distract yourselves/be productive during this time. also, i’ll do my best to be realistic because i’m also trying to find ways to cope based on experience.
i will emphasize, NO ONE is going to pressure anyone into being productive during the quarantine because we all just want to get by.
“but what if i’m doing well during this quarantine and i just what to let time pass by?”
then this post is for you !!
1. schedule what you can do for the day
maybe we all keep saying we’re bored, we have nothing to do, we feel so unproductive this and that; so i could suggest making a list of what you do during the day to fill up the time slots of your day. this all depends on what time you wake up and what time you go to sleep (my sleep schedule is wack lately lmao i just wanted to share)
once you feel that you still have nothing to do or you still have gaps in your schedule, then you could look for more ideas on what to do or just simply take a nap (because i swear to god naps are the best). maaaaaybe you could try a new hobby and finally commit to it (no pressure, though, after all we’re going through a pandemic)
if you want some printables on a daily schedule, i have some links
universi-tea  moodyprintables
2. declutter your room, organize your desk, make everything prettier !!
okay so quarantine. we’re all stuck in our rooms, our houses, and whatever else you see. so why not make everything more pleasing to the eyes? maybe, through decluttering, you’ll find something that will remind you of something (i hope it isn’t something bad tho) and maybe you have some decors that you haven’t hung up like string lights. but please, before the string lights, consider the electricity bill, especially for families that don’t have a source of income rn.
you could also handcraft your own decorations, and speaking of that, i could transition to my next suggestion, which is...
3. try out crafting
of course, with the materials you have in your reach. you could make origami, perhaps a curtain of paper cranes, a wall of paper flowers, a string of paper decorations? these links below could suggest more
diy paper room decorations diy yarn room decorations easy wall art diy home accents fabric projects
there are more ideas on the internet, and maybe you have other materials you have stored in your house !! you can search up more diy projects based on that and you could put a twist to the ideas you see on the internet
4. have a try at journaling
based from my experience, self-isolation leads us into being stuck with our thoughts. so, journaling is one way to let out those thoughts. there are a lot of ways to journal, whether traditionally or digitally, and there are a lot of ideas on the internet. if you don’t know where to get started, here are a few useful posts out of the shitton of posts you can find on the internet
bullet journaling: a guide by bujowsofie 31 day journal challenge by coffeeandpoem journaling ideas/inspiration by gh0stylt 15 things to collect in your journal by improving-slowly 150 self-discovery and bullet journal prompts by undersoilanddirt masterpost of journal prompts by undersoilanddirt
5. learn a new language
have you ever attempted to learn a new language but was never able to commit to it? now is like... a perfect time since we have possibly months of quarantine so we’re gonna be stuck here doing nothing lol anyways you don’t have to commit either if you don’t absolutely feel like it. it’s really up to you if you want to do this for a long time since this is a way to pass time for the quarantine period. here are useful links and masterposts for people trying to learn a new language
how to learn a language when you don’t know where to start by escapetoluna 2+ months of language learning prompts by amillionlanguages language learning masterpost by languagessi tips for starting a langblr by join-the-dutch-clan
6. pick up a new hobby
there are lots of hobbies you can learn with the help of youtube (or online courses, if you can afford it; and as they say,, hope all..) here is a list of hobbies i could suggest
drawing/painting photography playing a musical instrument writing handcrafting cooking/baking sewing
7. start working out at home
there are a lot of ways to get fit (since diets and meal plans are a difficult option ngl especially where i live in), and working out does not require equipment. you could perhaps use applications (i personally use Home Workout), or you could do yoga by watching and imitating what instructors do on youtube. you could even try getting flexible during the quarantine period or even study your favorite dances (or even just a little bit of zumba!!)
8. do some advance studying in your academics
yes. i hate mentioning this. but if your online classes aren’t suspended (hello @ my school idk what you’re doing but it’s not effective at all for underprivileged students) then you better check your priorities LMAO. i do wish that whatever situation you are in is conducive for you to be able to learn, but if you’re done with your academics you could do some advance studying so that you can get a headstart once you go back to “normal”.
9. oooooor you could study an online course you are interested in
there are free courses offered by the ivy league rn, here is the link !!
10. and lastly, remember that this pandemic is a time for you to rest and be aware of what’s happening outside. multiple factors led us into this situation and we must make a change for these type of things to not happen again. as the youth, we must be socially aware because it’s our job to help our nation.

1, 2, 5, 15, 25, 30 for artist asks!
✨ Do you prefer traditional drawing or digital? ✨
I personally prefer digital though I do love both. I’ll admit, I don’t draw traditionally as much as I did in school. Mostly because I find it more convenient to just be able to pull out my phone and have everything I need to be able to draw. Not to mention if I mess up I can easily get rid of said mistake. Also the convience of layers and the ability to be able to test things and if I don’t like it I can get rid of it. But yaaa
✨ How long have you been drawing? ✨
Um, well. I’ve kinda always loved to draw since elementary school. Like, whenever we had indoor recess for whatever reason, I always preferred to just sit and draw/doodle. I’ve been digitally drawing since mid 2017, though.
✨ What’s your favorite thing to draw? ✨
Well! I’d say mostly fandom stuff (like my favorite characters from the various fandoms I’m in) and ocs! Whether they’re my ocs or friends’ ocs. I also like drawing things for AUs I’ve created but I guess for the most part that can go under the fandom and oc umbrella haha. I don’t rlly tend to draw real people much, but the single exception to this right now is Jake Shears. I’ve drawn him quite a few times the last 6 or 7 years mostly because he’s such a talented and amazing person and he’s so nice and sweet and I love him so much and I’m getting off track oh shit oh fuck oh damn.
✨ How much does an average piece take you to complete? ✨
Uhhh, usually about 3-4ish hours. That includes minimal distractions, though. Longer if I’m constantly getting distracted, haha. But yeah, usually 3-4ish hours.
✨ Do you like to draw in silence or with music? ✨
Music! I almost always have music playing while I draw. Like I have music playing rn as I answer this lol. Usually tho just play Scissor Sisters, Jake’s solo songs, Chrono Trigger soundtrack (or from the musical), Undertale soundtrack (or from the musical), or Perfect Dark soundtrack. (Other music/songs too but those are my favorites to have playing while I draw.) And just. Draw whatever. Maybe some doodles or sketches.
✨ What inspires you to not just make art, but to be a better artist? ✨
My friends and favorite artists mostly. I see y’all’s art and I just. Feel so inspired. All my friends have such amazing art. I’m inspired that someday I may reach y’all’s level. At the moment my style is incredibly cartoony and for the moment I can assume it’s going to stay that way for awhile since it’s what I’m most comfortable with. (Don’t like the idea of changin’ it up haha) And yeah sometimes I go through periods where I’m not very happy where my art is but! It is what it is! Bottom line I aspire to be as amazing as y’all! Even with my cartoony-ass art style!
Also Jake Shears is a big inspiration to me, but he could go under “favorite artist” umbrella, even if he’s more so a musical artist rather than a visual artist (he has created little doodles tho before so I guess he could count). I’ve rambled about him before and how amazing and talented he is so I won’t go into too much detail hh
But he’s so unique and creative and sorely underrated, I just. Hh he’s so passionate about everything he makes and I aspire to reach that level of whatever I create, just. The amount of passion I put into it just radiates off said thing. That’s how it is with Jake and what he makes and I aspire to reach that level. But anyway, I’m sorry I talk about him a lot I just love him so much, it hurts ghsgsbdkdalq
Thank you for asking tho! Hopefully you don’t regret because I rambled about Jake bsgavdndakndpq
