#I swear I'm not a Disney adult I just love the movies because they make me feel good and shit

Has any remake been good? Like, I honestly never saw a single one
I heard The Little Mermaid was good but I think it's because Disney took their time with it. I haven't watched it yet because I think I might cry and shit, but the streets loved it. Every other movie was trash.
Lion King: Trash
Jungle Book: Trash
Mulan: Garbage because they didn't have any musical numbers and they tried to make it gritty.
Alladin was alright but Will Smith stole the show. It was basically Genie: The Movie.
Cinderella was cute but the lack of charm ruined some parts of it. I felt like they wanted to make Cinderella for adults but adults who want to see Cinderella wants to see unrealistic magical shit. I'm trying to escape reality, baby girl.
The Snow White trailer didn't do it for me and the girl who is playing Snow White is so annoying. The first press interviews about it were a disaster.
And baby we aren't gonna talk about what they did to my baby Belle and her man.
So that's why I'm worried about Lilo & Stich. I honestly think the remakes are a quick cash grab and I hate that for Disney. Disney used to pump out original projects that set the standard for the film industry for decades. There are so many storybook classics and folklores that haven't gotten the Disney treatment yet but if they hire good writers they, can create new stories. Eventually, Disney will acknowledge this and give us what we want but that will only happen when they lose enough money.
#I swear I'm not a Disney adult I just love the movies because they make me feel good and shit#but yeah dawg#Disney is fucking up#And that wrongful death situation is gonna make them lose so much money#asks

Blogmas #2 2023
Underrated Disney movies that I love
1) Big Hero 6
This movie always makes me cry like a baby
2) Dinosaur
Before Disney Plus, I swear I had thought I dreamt this movie. Because no one else seemed to remember it. But honestly this movie makes me cry so much. Like definitely worth a watch
3) The Wild
This was clearly Disney's attempt to compete with Madagascar. But it was a cute attempt, nostalgia is definitely helping this but it's definitely a classic
But the iconic dialogue lives in my head.
"who knows how to stere?"
"we are animals"
"so none of us"
4) 101 Dalmatians
Cruella Deville is a bop. And i have to say the movie is so aesthetically pleasing. It makes me happy to see all those little puppies just vibing as the adults scramble to save them
5) Atlantis; the lost empire
This movie made me bisexual
6) The Emperor's new groove
This movie made me the person I am today. It's the perfect combination of heart, humor and just utter ridiculousness. This movie genuinely feels like a warm hug of my childhood after a particularly hard day
7) the Rescuer series
Under movie which I was convinced for the longest time was a fever dream. I love that they made this film. It broke my heart to see both those children and how the adults in their life let them down but it made me the person I am today. I work in healthcare to make sure that no child ever feels like that. So this movie really is worth the watch..brilliantly written just deserves so much more credit
8) The Hunchback of Notre Dame
First of all, the crush I had on Esmeralda is unreal. Like she is so pretty. Also, i love how they showed that she didn't love Quasimodo but not because he was ugly but he just wasn't the person for her. Also the villian death was so Amazing. I was so happy when that mother ducker perished
Also god helped the outcasts deserves an Oscar
.
9) Brother Bear
Another story that makes.me cry. And i love the portrayal of Native American lore compared to Pocahontas where there was a glamoroisation of the coloniser. The ending always gets me and makes.me an ugly crying mess
Also the iconic "stop.telling people I'm dead" meme
10) Robin Hood
The humor in this movie is unmatched. I had the biggest crush on Robin. He was so smooth and those eyes. Sir! Omg please.
Also i think it's so well written which can't be said for some Disney movies

MK, after being blessed with all of the many, and funny, mythos references thanks to OSP:
"Just don't pull an Actaeon and we'll be good."
"I thought I told you to take the sky back, why do I still have it?" (Talking about some object he got asked to hold onto but was never actually retrieved despite MK asking them to finally retrieve it)
*Playing DND* "I smack him in the head with my stick thing."
"I SWEAR TO TARTARUS AND BACK-"
"I blame Zeus."
"Did Loki put you up to this?"
I def hc MK in both canon and au being a big mythology nerd in general, not just for SWK.
He'd be the kid running around the library with a bunch of mythology books too mature for him to check out without an adult (Tang said no cus they'd both get in trouble with Pigsy). Has different phases of interest throughout his childhood - the parents probably can gauge how old MK is in some photos based on what mythology he was currently obsessed with.
SWK, pointing to a photo in an album: "Was MK seven or eight in this one?" Tang: "Just turned seven. See the little wooden sword on his belt?" Mac: "Ah. The King Arthur phase. He had a cake shaped like a rock that year." Pigsy: "Easiest to design really. He just wanted a fake sword coming out the top." Sandy: "Also the year he figured out how to turn himself into a squirrel cus of the disney movie." SWK: "He cried so much for that girl squirrel." MK, overhearing and getting emotional: "She didn't understand! She was in love but couldn't understand why Wart couldn't be with her! It was heartbreaking!"
I'm projecting because I was that kid who knew all the greek gods names, and by proxy all the planets and their moons.
MK would make obscure mythology jokes that no one gets except Mac (theatre and mythology nerd intertwine often), and a certain demon.
MK, very tired after eating a bunch of mooncakes: "Feeling like I ate the wrong kinda lotus rn." Everyone else in the room: ??? Red Son, suddenly starts laughing: "Oh because of the lotus-eaters! Sorry, it took me a moment. Very clever noodle-boy." MK: ( ♥ ͜ʖ ♥)
But yeah MK is 100% still a Monkey King nerd, but he also nerds about other mythological heroes. Has all the OSP mythos videos saved into his memory. Frequently blames his magic/divine problems on completely unrelated gods aka "Damn you Zeus!"

so wanted to post a fast review of a series, I did not expect to like, people I followed pretty much called it a trashfire and there were jokes all over social media over the quality of it's story and it's lackluster animation, so I went in with the mindset not too expect too much and well...
it''s pretty good?
wait no wat, it's pretty good, i myself am confused I enjoyed it alot, did I watched the same show as the people who hated it?
don't get me wrong the series has problems, the swearing gets a bit tirdesome and the pacing is all over the place. The show takes a lesson from spiderverse and lego movies by not giving its viewer any room to breath, Every scene is important to one of the major plot threads, episode 4 is a triggering episode that you should read upront on, that i can't comment on. The character desings are a hit and miss and not all the jokes land. But when the show wants to tell it's story, wants you to get to know the characters you can't help but get so invested and wanting to learn more. The different plot threads that it starts are all major good that you want to keep following the story. But what I like most about the show that it's not a cast of a ''nuclear'family or a group of high school teenagers or a group of super heroes. No it's a weird mixed of very troubling (sinners) adults in a found-family situation.
The story is about the Princess of Hell named Charlie who opened a Hotel in the hope she could redeem Sinners so they can go to heaven and avoid slaughter by the angels, that happens once a year, but due to angel Adam (yes that Adam) being a dick, the slaugher will happen again in just six MONTHS.
and that's all i need to tell you, a big theme about this series is Redemption and that it does it nicely well. The interaction between the characters is also majorly fun and let's just say there is a reason the Ost of Hazbin Hotel has been trending on Spotify it's freaking good.
The pacing doesn't bother me too much myself because Hazbin remindds me of a musical/stageplay and I love those.
(the Seramyu musicals are btw really good. give them a watch too)
regardless if you don't like HH that's all fine but I think one of the best things about it' being a hit, (it's one of the top shows on prime in over thirty countries) that in a time where big studios play it safe by having most adult cartoons follow the simpsons formula, try to copy the rick and morty style of storytelling, or in case of Disney and Marvel today, with Bob Iger saying they be focussing on big franchises and sequels for now, trying to shift the blame on original stories on why their movies aren't doing good. (despite them not even promoting said og movies and making the writers play it super SAFE) we have Hazbin Hotel, an animated show for adults that is so Unapologetic, Queer! Doesn't follow any save formula, is such an obvious passion project and is a huge hit! Last time I was this impressed was with Netflix Pluto and Nimona. HH is also a series I would love to see on stage! Hazbin Hotel is not for everyone but I would suggest give it a chance instaed of letting social media decide for you. (which i know you can disgard my post too, but I just wanted to say, I'm glad me and my friends watched this series and just ignored most of the hate, because we all enjoyed it and are playing the songs on repeat lolol)

Stepdad ~DreamWasTaken
༻✦༺ ༻✧༺ ༻✦༺
"I'm living my teenage dream
and my adult one"
༻✦༺ ༻✧༺ ༻✦༺
Also I didn't know if I should mention this but like :
Y/n : your name
Y/n/n: Your nickname
Y/l: your last name
M/n: Mother's name
D/n: Dad's name
part one - part two - part three - part four
【!TW! swearing, mention of abuse, asshole boyfriends, mention of teen pregnancy, making out, hinting to making love (no smut though)】
His boldness caught her of guard, "like a date?"
"Like a date."
"Yeah, yeah. I'd-I'd like that, send me the details," and with that she swiftly kissed his cheek again before almost running to her car.
"I got a date!" they both said out of disbelieve.
It was the day of their date. It was complete chaos.
Just chaos.
Nothing new.
Clay was being hysterical, he had been planning their date ever since she said yes which was, two days 8 hours and 12 minutes ago, yes he counted.
He couldn't believe it when she decided to go on a date with him, it made him feel like the happiest man alive. and dead, just the happiest man.
But it wasn't much better with Y/n. She had dropped of Layla at her mother's and went straight to a shop for 'the perfect dress'. Which was a hard task.
She hadn't been on a date since the jerk with the name of Jake. So, to say she was stressed was a bit of an understatement. She had already called six of her friends, but they all had the same advise; be yourself and you look beautiful.
It didn't really matter though because her head had an own way of thinking, which was a lot more pessimistic.
but now was the moment.
Clay had knocked on her door, with trembling hands, she had opened the door, with trembling hands.
Clay's breath was just gone. He didn't mean to sound cliché, but she had made him breathless with her beauty.
"You look," and for the rest there didn't follow anything. Just his eyes roaming around her figure.
"You look nice too," she giggled softly, he hadn't seen her this shy since they were in high school.
Even with their nerves the date went amazing. The food was great and they laughed almost the whole time. Only thing Clay didn't like was the waiter flirting with Y/n. But then again she hadn't noticed because her attention was so fixated on him, which made his ego grow twice the size already.
"I had an amazing time," she said to him. Clay had asked to drop her off, but now standing in front of her little house he didn't want to leave.
"i did too," he sighed drowning in her eyes, the most beautiful ones he had ever seen. "I would-I would like to take you on an-another one?"
"that'd be lovely."
He sighed, relieved and just started at her lovingly. She did the same but broke out of her trance sooner, "would you like to come in for a bit?"
The blonde just nodded his head, still to heavy daydreaming to answer. It made her laugh once more, which got him out of his daydream and chuckle a bit embarrassed.
"Would you like something to drink or eat? I know we just came from a restaurant but-"
"It's fine," he said smiling, she was always too sweet.
"Okay," and they sat in silence for a while. not uncomfortable. never, but they both did wish they had the guts or nerve to talk about something.
"Do you want to stay over? Like when we were teenagers, I don't have to pick Layla up till tomorrow afternoon."
"I'd like that."
So he stayed, and he didn't regret it one bit. He loved every minute of it, watching stupid romantic Disney movies while drinking some hot chocolate, they had enough wine already. When the end of the movie was nearing Y/n had laid her head on his chest and he wrapped his arms around her waist.
"I really want to stay this way."
"Me too," he sighed. Clay had always dreamed of this moment, wrapped around the person he loved the most, the only one he would ever love. It warmed his heart when she said this, meaning she felt the same.
"Where can I sleep? I don't want to overstep any boundaries," he asked softly trailing his fingers up her arm making her shiver slightly.
"You can just sleep with me," never would she have thought that she would say this, but he made her feel safe. He had always done, so when she was left with Jake she felt defenceless, because her safe place was gone.
She had it back now, she was never planning to let him go again.
"Okay," he said a mix of adoration and nervousness in his voice.
"Come on then," she had picked herself off the couch and out of his arms, which made both of them a bit colder. She had picked up his hand and tugged him up. "I never really gave you a tour of the house did I?"
He chuckled at her adorableness, he had been in her house few times but he never really had been around everywhere. "I haven't but, I would really like it in the morning then."
"Why?" she asked softly.
"Because right now, I just want to lay in bed with the most beautiful girl in my arms." he whispered against her neck. She had stopped walking and he had decided to stand so close...
"Alright," she breathed in defeat and slight nervousness at his boldness, but she didn't really mind. It was a bit exciting.
"Follow me."
So she led them to her bedroom, it was pretty big for their cozy house, but he could note that she gave the biggest room to Layla.
"The bathroom is there, but you can always just change in here," she giggled.
He laughed at her, "Maybe I will, but you wont be able to resist me then."
she just chuckled more, he loved it. They both hadn't noticed how close they had gotten. If he stepped a bit further he would have her trapped between him and the wall. Sooner their laughter died down and they just stared at each other. Completely lost in each other's eyes.
"Can I kiss you?" he asked. His breath had left him and his voice was soft almost lower than a whisper.
"Mhm," she hummed, unable to form words because of their proximity.
He wasted no time, his lips crashed with hers. Her lips were made for his, he could feel how good they were together. He had never felt so needy for someone.
Her lips were chapped and soft, he loved everything about them. Of course he had dreamed about kissing her since he was like old enough to understand love, but this had blown any expectations he had ever made.
What he loved most though was how she kissed him back with as much passion and adoration. He grunted lowly and pushed her against the wall. She loved it when she could hear how riled up he got.
"As much as I like where this is going," she muttered against his lips who were still trying to make as much contact as possible, "I have a kid I have to pick up tomorrow morning."
"I know," he sighed. His lips had detached from hers and were now lightly grazing and kissing the nape of her neck. His head dropped in the crook of her shoulder.
"Let's sleep then," she said softly.
"No wait," he said urgently. His blond hair lifted from her shoulder and flopped in front of his eyes.
"I know I should ask you on a second and third date and such but- I just, I don't want to wait that long," he said honestly, "Would you be mine? But if you're not ready I'll go on a second date and-"
But she cut him off, with placing her lips back on his. "I would love to," she whispered. It only made him smile wider and start kissing her all over her face. Y/n smiled at him too, "We really should sleep though."
"Let me enjoy the feeling of kissing my girlfriend for a moment," he mumbled dreamily.
She only giggled more, "Alright. Only if I can enjoy my boyfriend."
"Oh, I love the sound of that," he grinned. She kissed him once more, with a bit less hunger but just utter love.
In the end they finally got to bed, they had laughed kissed and joked around way too long, which ended in them being very sleepy in the morning. Y/n was the first to wake up.
Her head was turned to her window, while her back was to the wall, wait her bed wasn't against the wall?
So turning her head around she was met with the blond mop of hair from Clay. She slightly sighed of relieve but then remembered their date. Everything came back, how much fun they had on the date, how they continued to have fun at her house, how he asked to stay over, how they Kissed, ...
Her face heated up by remembering their kiss. When it finally settled in that he asked her to be his girlfriend she felt hot everywhere, as if she was blushing on her stomach and back too.
She tried the get up from the bed, not wanting to wake up Clay who looked too peaceful to disturb. But, every time she tried to stand up or free herself from his arms, they just snaked around her waste again while tightening making her stuck between his arms.
After a lot of attempts she just lied back down, her head resting against his chest and her arms dropped on top of his, their hands interlocking. She sighed dreamily, as she fell asleep again with a permanent smile on her face.
After she had fallen asleep again Clay had woken up. At first he didn't remember where he was before everything started settling in his mind too. He grinned while remembering everything, especially their kiss and her saying 'yes' to being his lover. Oh, how he loved to call her that.
As he smiled his eyes focused on the sleeping person in his arms, his arms tightened a bit more, forcing her to be flush against him. His action got a little giggle out of her. He chuckled slightly before resting his head in the crook of her neck, "Morning."
"Good morning."
"Slept well?"
"Very, you?"
"Like a baby."
"You are a baby."
"Your baby."
"No," she chuckled slightly, "that's Layla."
He smiled in her skin at the mention of the kid. Before it was wiped of his face, what would he tell her? Now that he was dating Y/n he could be her step-father?
But then again he should actually, like factly spoken, be married to Y/n to be her step-father right?
"What are you thinking about?" the said girl asked. He hadn't noticed that in his pondering she had turned around in his arms, now face to face with him.
"Layla," he answered softly, "I just, I don't want to be a father-figure if you don't want to but- I just- I don't know, would she even consider me to be your boyfriend? Would she hate me n-"
But he was cut of by his lover placing her lips in his, he melted into it as soon as at happened as if he hadn't been thinking about a pretty big 'issue' before.
"Layla is no problem," she said against his lips, "she loves you! She even asked me once if I could make you her 'daddy'."
"Really?" he asked shocked, but completely giddy at the thought.
"Yes really."
"Well don't we have a daughter to pick up?"
Y/n couldn't help but smile teary eyes at him. She loved how he had already accepted the fact that she had a child, he even called her 'their daughter' meaning he was considering to put himself out as father for Layla.
"Yeah, let's go pick up our daughter."
*✭˚・゚✧*・゚*✭˚・゚✧*・゚*
They were both a bit scared for Layla and Y/n's mother's reaction. "It's going to be okay," she whispered to Clay, holding his hand in hers while walking up to her old house.
"Yeah," he breathed. Although he wasn't to sure, he hadn't really spoken to her mother ever since they lost contact. Clay was scared he had messed up his chance at a normal relation with her parents.
"Y/n!" her mother said excited when she opened the door, "Clay?"
"Hey, M/n..." he said unsure.
"It's been so long!" she exclaimed, hugging him closely. AT first he stiffened not sure what to do. In the end he melted into the hug, just like when he was a teenager. He missed this, he missed the L/n family. He forgot how much of a huger M/n was, how he used to work in the garage with D/n, how he used to hang out with Y/n, he just missed everything.
"Mommy!"
While Clay and M/n were hugging Layla and D/n had walked out, Y/n's daughter jumped into her arms as soon as her mother came into view. D/n was stood in the doorframe smiling at his daughter with her own daughter, and at his wife hugging the boy he viewed his son, used to...
"Dad, Mom, can we talk?"
"Of course honey, come in," her mother replied softly, seeing Clay next to Y/n M/n already had her suspicion on what she wanted to say.
"Can I come mum?"
"Yeah," she said looking at Clay who nodded his head, already knowing what she wanted to talk about.
D/n had pulled out four chairs for them to sit, while M/n had ran inside to make get drinks and food.
"So, what did you have to say?" D/n asked.
"Uhm," Clay wasn't sure what to say, he had always been welcome in the L/n household but the numb tone coming from the man did hurt, but he couldn't find it in himself to get mad or irritated, it was his own fault.
"Clay and I have reconnected a few, I think some months back, and we uhm have decided to give dating a chance," Y/n said, taking Clay's hand in her own underneath the table. The small gesture made his heart melt a bit.
Her dad looked the boy up and down before smiling, "I never liked that Jake dude, but I know you Clay. If I ever have to give my daughter to someone I'm happy to do it to you."
Clay smiled slightly, he loved her really, her and her family so seeing that the man wasn't that mad with him comforted him.
"But if you ever pull a stupid stunt ever again, I will find you."
Clay gulped and nodded silently.
M/n laughed at her husbands antics, "he isn't that serious, but we do look out for our Y/n/n, so if you mess this chance up, we will stand by Y/n."
Even though this was kind of a serious, very serious, topic and warning, he couldn't help but smile. He was glad his lover had such a great family, not that he could complain. He was happy to be reunited with them again, he was never, ever, planning on going away again.
"I promise you, I don't want to leave again, I won't leave, never again."
Y/n smiled at her parents, her lover, and her little bean situated in her lap. "You better not, who will I play Minecraft with?!" Layla exclaimed.
For the rest of the day they shared laughs, stories, memories, and caught up, Clay and Y/n hadn't stopped smiling when they returned home.
"You know,' Clay stated, "I thought that would've gone way worse."
"Why?"
"Because I did something terrible to you."
The beautiful woman turned around staring in his eyes with disbelieve and love, she walked up to him cupping his cheeks, "that's the past now. If you're willing to stay, to be in this little family, we will always be good, I've forgiven you. You should too, stop blaming yourself."
He smiled softly, reaching his hands up to cup hers that were still on his cheeks, "I won't leave." He mumbled before leaning forward and kissing his lover.
he was already addicted to the feeling of her lips on his. As was she.
But they pulled apart when they hear a small gasp from the living room, they looked at Layla scared something happened, but when they saw her she was standing before them, eyes wide and mouth dropped open.
"You kissed my mom!"
Clay and Y/n chuckled at her, "i did," the blond stated proudly, "Gonna do something about it?"
"Nothing," she stated honestly, "You two are great together." Now they stood there with their mouths open, slightly surprised at her sudden change in attitude, she was talking so grown up.
"But!" the little girl yelled, "If you dare make my mom upset! I'll kick you out myself." She finished proudly, walking to her room leaving the adults alone.
"Did, did she just threaten you?"
"I think she did..."
*✭˚・゚✧*・゚*✭˚・゚✧*・゚*
Clay had chosen to stay a little longer in Y/n's house. They had watched some movies together, and laughed almost the whole time.
Even though Clay was happy, he couldn't say one moment were he had felt this happy. No, he was sure, this was the most happy he had ever known himself.
He started kissing Y/n's head, she was situated in his lap leaning against his chest. She hummed softly feeling the butterfly kisses against her hair, "What's on your mind?"
"Nothing," he answered still hiding his face in her soft hair.
"Alright."
"Okay, I was just thinking about how happy I am," he said suddenly;
She turned around at lightning speed. "Really?" she asked.
"Yeah," he answered, getting lost in her eyes.
"Me neither," she replied softly. He couldn't take it anymore and crashed their lips back together.
"Hmm," she hummed in satisfaction, against his lips. Her hands getting tangled in his hair, while his found their way on her hips pulling her comfortable in his lap again.
She, now straddling his hips, started to gently push him in the couch. "I love you," he mumbled against her neck. He had stopped his kisses when he realized what he said.
"It's okay if you didn't mean it ye-"
But he cut her off by kissing her again, his hand now on the back of her neck gently pushing her closer.
"No I meant it," he said, "just not sure if you wanted to hear or say it yet."
She smiled at his consideration, Jake never really did, "I love you too."
He groaned softly hearing her say that, he grabbed her neck again, kissing her more passionatally and rougher. Her hands found their way on his chest again. When they started to change positions, Clay on top and Y/n being straddled, the bell rung.
really? Now?
But they ignored it, untill they rang again, "just ignore it."
Again, "Clay-"
"No, no, I don't want to go."
She chuckled softly, "I have to get the door though."
they both sighed, Clay sitting up straight, while Y/n went to the door.
"Can I crash here tonight?"
"Of course, love," Y/n responded, not even aware about what she called him.
"I like the sound of that," he mumbled to himself, a grin plastered on his face.
He went in her room to change for the night, he had noticed that time had flown by and it was already midnight. Which made him think, who would knock on someone's door at this hour?
When Clay had gone to her room, Y/n went to the door. She wasn't sure who would be there but she didn't want to be rude if her neighbour needed something, or something like that.
but as soon as she opened the door she wanted to slam it back shut again, but the person's foot had been placed between the door and the frame making it impossible to close, without breaking his foot.
"hey Y/n/n," the person said, "did ya miss me?"
"No," she said, "No, no, no Go away Jake!"

I am once again watching the Turner & Hooch series on Disney plus. And once again, I am asking what demographic they are making this idiotic show for.
All of this stuff with the dog is so unrealistic, it is keeping me from throwing believability out the window.
Murder plots on a ... kid's show? I mean, like I said, no idea who this show is for.
I love this Olympic tie-in that makes no sense. Other than that this is around the time of the Olympics. Brilliant.
This show is just such a weird vibe that I can't put my finger on.
These people are obviously not English.
"Mommy [I swear to God she did not say at least mummy] went to go live with her tennis teacher because he was a good listener." WHAT THE FUCK IS THE TARGET AGE OF THIS SHOW?!
Also, this kid, even though she has the face for acting (detailed), she is practically reciting these lines that demonstrate she's alone. It's lacking a bit more heart. Disney usually finds child actors that are better with their delivery, but maybe she did the most satisfying English accent for them?
OH WAIT THAT'S BRANDON JAY MCLAREN! Glad to see he still works. I will always remember him from:
(he's the red ranger)
Bad blood effect would make you think this show is for kids. But then then hit the kidnapped agent (McLaren) and have semi automatics that they shoot in the next scene. I don't get this.
Oh wow. I did not expect them to say "The Olympics is all about money" in this show. Again, who was supposed to hear this, adults or kids?
Indicating they are going to threaten a kid.
I'm guessing this show is literally made for parents to watch with their kids. They are just doing it wrong. And I'm not fond of copaganda being made for kids.
Is an Olympic committee member a diplomat?
He should have slipped his shoes back on. That's two seconds.
Wait, a hostage situation in a hotel...I've never seen Die Hard. But, I have a feeling this a Die Hard plot rip-off plot.
"Yippy, Kai's in trouble." Fucking. Called it. He's even got the John McLane look:
"There's some dangerous about him" Please tell me they ripped off this line.
So this is, Die Hard meets Turner & Hooch. Not an AU crossover I expected.
I need a Die Hard fan to watch this episode and let me know how many references were in this.
Well, I guess this is supposed to be a kids show, since the guy who fell four stories and landed on his back is still alive and groaning in pain. And this other guy could have easily show McLaren's character in the head.
These guns clearly aren't firing. They didn't even bother to CGI muzzle flare. Weird fucking kids' show, man.
Oh there we go, muzzle flare. Maybe I missed it before. Certainly no recoil though.
PLEASE TELL ME MCLAREN COMES BACK! He did a fantastic job and i really like his character!
She can't knight anyone, she would know that, and it's probably some sort of insult to the Queen or something. I mean, fuck the royals, I'm just thinking a Brit would think it's an insult.
Ahh, yes, money doesn't really exist on a Disney show. Complain about it, then give in an buya $929 stroller.
This is absolutely even more insane than I thought. See this guy?
This is Reginald VelJohnson. Yes, he is surprising his role from the movie. But he also was Al Powell from the Die Hard movies. Holy fuck. Like...what the fuck Disney?
The sister's going to get kidnapped at some point this season, right? Because she's actually going to go on this mystery and find something that she shouldn't find?
I guess I'll find out. God why am I watching this? Maybe because I find it's demographic bouncing to be very bizarre? I don't know.

Holy FUCK this is unbelievably pretentious and obnoxious
I'm the first person to say that you should watch more than just Marvel/Disney movies, but shaming people for their interests and calling it "baby food culture" is not the way to do it. And I love how this guy is shaming people for watching these "baby food movies" on a long flight.
First of all, you need to keep things SFW when you're in public so excuse people for not wanting to watch your edgy art house films in an open place where they can be judged out of context. Secondly, a lot of people (justifiably) don't feel like being intellectually challenged during an hours-long flight; they just want to veg out. I know this because I'm one of those people. I like to turn my brain off and just relax when I'm forced into a tedious situation like a long flight.
I swear, some of these people like Twitter OP make not liking Marvel/Disney movies into their entire personality and it's embarrassing. Way more embarrassing than an adult enjoying a Disney movie.
this genre of tweet is a million times worse than any kind of adult marvel or disney fan and im tired of people giving this any kind of legitimacy, you are never ever going to convince people to watch your criterion selection films by acting like this

I wanna test something.
Look at them both as kids.
Like wow.
You're shipping them??? These two people.
the same person.
very obviously the same person.
But one of them has bleached hair as an adult so they can't possibly have the same dna. Ok. Yeah no ok I get it. Sure. Yeah. Yeah ok. And Marvel stripping Sylvie of every ounce of personality for the last couple episodes was fine too then. That wasn't a tactic to make them seem less similar. Yeah. I see. But I'm almost 100% positive that if people started shipping Loki or Sylvie with any other Loki variant, y'all would go ballistic. It feels wrong, right?
This isn't me saying it's the shippers fault, it's me saying that Marvel has made a huge mistake in making their relationship romantic. Not only does it cheapen the story, but it completely invalidates some of Loki's best character development. It strays completely away from the writer's original intentions and therefore - even apart from the selfcest - just is so out of place and I would even say inappropriate. I just can't believe that marvel is ok showing a selfcest couple in mainstream tv, but not a mlm/wlw couple. The way they constantly erase queer characters is getting to the point where I'm not even surprised anymore. I'm tired. Tired of every single billionaire company using queerbaiting and erasure, and whitewashing every show and movie they produce to cater to the rich, white, cishet, privaleged suburban assholes, while calling us delusional. So many people see themselves in Loki, me included. And don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved the show, but I am sick of this blatant phobia.
You can disagree, argue, even threaten me, but it won't change the fact that this is just another tally mark on the wall of Marvel's representation screw-ups.
Thank you for reading.

Hi Haddock! I'm not sure if you still take requests for analysis, and if you don't, I apologize. I was re-watching Buffalord soldier, and I wondered if you had anything to say about how the HTTYD show/movies portrayed a sensitive -especially for a show popular among young kids- topic like death? Think of Stoick, and the Scourge of Odin victims... Do you think young fans would be distressed, and that for that cartoons should avoid tricky issues like that? Thanks, and sorry for bothering you!
You’re never bothering me! Please never feel like popping in is an inconvenience. I love talking to you and it’s a joy to be able to talk about HTTYD and the things we both love. :) And honestly, I think that this is a really interesting topic, considering the How to Train Your Dragon franchise.
Overall I think that how the television shows like RTTE handle death is with the same presence-but-avoidance that is seen in how most animations handle death: it happens, but it’s not a focus, nor is it anything unusual that a child will consume in media. The death happens but is never something so impacting that it registers on a young child’s mind. But death pops up a surprising amount of areas in allegedly “children’s animation” - from Bambi losing his mother, to Simba watching Mufassa die, to Gaston falling to his death, to Hiro losing Tadashi, to Dragon eating Farquaad, to watching bad guys get slain over and over and over again in Disney films or superhero shows. The fact Race to the Edge brings up the Scourge of Odin or has a few vaguely-referenced deaths isn’t too out of the ordinary. I doubt most of this content would distress kid audiences.
Where I think DreamWorks Dragons steps out of the norm is with How to Train Your Dragon 2. It’s actually one of the main things that enticed me about HTTYD 2 and made me love and respect and appreciate it: the story did not sugarcoat death, but instead portrayed it in a shockingly raw, realistic manner. Most movies, especially most American animated movies, do not spend the time to have the main character sobbing over their father’s dead body, or have the main character cry while he speaks his elegy during a full funeral scene. How to Train Your Dragon 2 differed in that it confronted death as a very real, impacting, psychologically painful, and tangible experience. It wasn’t just part of some happily ever after adventure. It was something handled with extreme heaviness, and something that Hiccup had to carry with him as a burden through the end of the film. From someone who had just watched a different animated movie where the main character’s psychological problems magically vanished by the end of the story rather than get resolved, HTTYD 2 was the greatest blessing Valhalla could bestow.
But of course I’m an adult, not a kid, so me receiving this content is a little different. Kids watching a death like this is a little more controversial.
It’s to note cartoons and animation are not inherently children’s stories. Some cultures recognize this more easily than others: Japan, for instance, has more than its share of animation that is not at all suited for children. Even something like FMAB has its share of blood and swears. What makes something “for children” is not the medium in which the story is told, but what is in the content of the story. Dean DeBlois has even explicitly stated they write stories in HTTYD that aren’t ever meant to be children’s stories. So I have no problem with the fact that death is in the second film at all. The story is what the story is, the content is appropriate for the story the writers mean to convey... and what should be done is not judge the writers for producing this content. What should be happening is getting parents to evaluate the story and decide if their young children are ready for content like this.
It’s the parent’s responsibility to evaluate the film for themselves... not animation’s responsibility to avoid sensitive topics. If sensitive topics are done respectfully in a way to create a powerful story, that can be a very good thing.
Of course HTTYD 2 got some retaliation from parents who were upset at the content, claiming it was not suitable for younger audiences. HTTYD 2 was assumed to be appropriate for young kids because the first movie didn’t have such a big death and because it was animation. But that’s a bit of society’s fault for assuming animation = all kids welcome, and it’s a bit of MPAA’s fault for making the PG label so broad (Frozen is also PG somehow). If the PG movie Frozen was great for kids, why not HTTYD 2? That’s probably what some parents of young kids thought... and then realized too late there is a content difference between the two films. An on-screen death where a main character tries to kill a main character and ends up killing another main character... was too much for the upset families.
Even then, I don’t think that having a death like this was a huge jump from the first HTTYD movie where the main character had his left leg amputated. What happened in HTTYD 2 was in sync with the level of mature content that the first movie depicted.
And even for young kids... I like what this one post has to say about HTTYD and its heavy topics. It’s very much worth the read and perhaps gives a new perspective on what it means to show younger audiences on screen main character deaths.
