Intro to Aerial Acrobatics class update:

We're back on the silks! I am very bad at the silks. I really, really, really need to just work on finding a chest-height bar or rope or something and just practice hanging from it. Every time I need to transfer my weight from my legs to my arms on the silks, I lose my grip and start slipping down.

The instructor is super supportive, though, and she made it very clear that she didn't expect us to be able to do all of the things she was showing right away. The way she explained it, rather than wanting us to work on getting the strength first, she wants us to learn technique and strength at the same time, so that when we have the strength we'll already know how to use it.

Anyway I theoretically know how to do a Russian climb now, if my hands will stop slipping.

Every single week in this class gives me more bruises in entirely unexpected areas. Last week was back-of-the-knee and lower back bruises. This week? Top of the foot. It's really hard to support all your weight on one foot standing on top of another foot with a strip of fabric in between them.

#I also fell on the floor more times today than any other class so far #I can't really climb high enough to have enough space to do a proper dismount so I end up dangling like four inches off the floor #I am back to orange-dangling-from-a-string #I still am enjoying the hell out of this #aerial acrobatics #aerial silks #personal stuff #ow my feet

I don't think people seem to understand that they could've given up. We know fox was blocking bisexual Buck and that probably means they were blocking buddie, so they could've given up. Buddie is a love story. Their devotion to each other is canon. There isn't anything the show can do that's gonna convince me they don't love each other. But they could've given up at any point. Backed off, actually give any other love interest a fighting chance, double down on them being best friends and not make it bigger. They choose not to. They kept adding to this love story as best as they could. They are best friends. They are partners. They are family. They would die for each other but they also have fun together. They have one braincell they keep pingponging between them. They love each other. That's a fact. That will always be a fact. They are each other's person. And now we are at a place where that can be explicitly explored. It's a slowburn. It's a network slowburn. The desire to rip your hair out comes with it but it makes the moment they finally get their shit together that much sweeter. We're getting there. Somehow y'all had more hope when all we had to go on was a couch. Buck is actually queer now. This time last year Buck and Eddie were getting a comphet ending. Now one of them is actually queer. For any horror fans out there that haven't read it yet: The Twisted Ones by T. Kingfisher is SO GOOD. I don't remember ever being so scared by a book

#the hollow places is also very good but it made me feel more like... fascinated than scared #the twisted ones actually has me like... i cant read it alone at night bc i get too spooked lol. i have to read it in bed next to my gf #and then i STILL get spooked. i spent all of last night in between dreams Scared Of Monsters Getting Me #until i woke up this morning and realized wait a second... that was in the book not real life #i am. so pleased by this. it is SO hard for me to find content that actually scares me anymore #and i love the authors voice too. the characters in each book have their own unique voices and both books have way different vibes #but even with that theres still some sort of just... essence that the author brings thats very present in both books and i really enjoy it #would definitely recommend both of them and i will DEFINITELY be checking out more of her books #rambling #edit: im looking at a list of her other books and two of them have a nonbinary mc?? hell yeah!!!#ive never seen a nonbinary person just casually represented in a non-lgbt focused novel. ESPECIALLY not as the protagonist in a horror #t kingfisher I LOVE YOU
