hmmmm i can’t help but think about how much worse idol / celeb fans would be in the mmau. like, maybe the government has sponsored the first ever female idol group for the sake of entertainment (because i’m sure the men eventually got tired of every source of entertainment, like music, being produced and sang by men) and like… the danger these girls are facing would probably be insane. attempted kidnappings at every concert, im telling you… or if this is a modern AU, the comments under all these girls’ performances are so crazy that all the comments are probably turned off. there’d probably be some men against it too,, like “why are these girls on stage dancing and showing themselves. who is allowing this. this is vulgar and immodest.”

The girl groups are something of an attempt to keep the population placated — the message is like, look! Girls in skimpy outfits bouncing around on stage! Eye candy! Jerkoff material! You can fill the void with obsessing over them and feel less lonely and irritable! You can be content (and not commit violent acts that upset the social framework to attempt to obtain a girl)!

That is, the hope is that it keeps the average guy in his proverbial place, acceptant that he'll never have one to himself (and distracted from the fact that most girls belong to wealthy elites, yet it would be rather easy for the have-nots to outnumber the haves and, well...)

They’re meant to be gawked at, drooled over, masturbated to, fantasized about… and it’s a huge success! All the groups that spring up rake in tons of money, performances draw in huge crowds. Men tend to form fanbases for the individual girls — that is, most guys will like the groups as a whole, but particularly dedicate themselves to one girl whom they deem their favorite.

The issue is that they’re a little too successful. The producers who thought the idea up were not fully prepared for just how allured some men would be. How attached they’d get to their favorite girl, the sort of delusions they form in their head.

It’s basically a problem in which by attempting to scratch an itch, the developers who produce the groups find out that it’s more like they’re fanning flames. Since most of these guys will never have a girl of their own, they can become especially delusional about feeling like the girl they fixate on is his, that he's her biggest fan and everyone else is just a casual fan, no one else really appreciates her the way he does. And the lack of stimulation elsewhere means that there's very little to distract them from their devotion.

The industry quickly becomes something dangerous. Fans get too close, too touchy. But really, what did they expect? Do they realize how torturous it is for a guy who has literally never, ever touched a girl, seeing one standing so close? Of course he's going to try and stick his hand out to grab. Except then more and more guys get the same idea… soon there's an extra barrier of those red-rope posts between the girls and the crowd. They take extra security measures, each girl has a personal guard who always knows where she is.

Although nonetheless, it's only a matter of time before a girl goes missing anyway, even with all the extreme measures and constant surveillance. Never underestimate the ingenuity of a desperate, horny man...

For the first question, I'm honestly not sure at all? In canon, obviously anything goes, but in my AU, for whatever reason I don't really see him with anyone.

At the lack of any concrete ideas I just decided to draw a rarepair, I've deadass only seen like 1-2 things for Dandy x Shelly so enjoy this I suppose:

Now when it comes to crackship/unpopular ships... I'm not super sure if it counts as an unpopular ship, but in my AU Shrimpo x Boxten is one of the few ships that actually becomes a thing.

If there's any hate towards the ship (and towards any Shrimpo x Anyone ships in general) it's definitely because in canon Shrimpo is a one-note abusive asshole. In my AU Shrimpo undergoes some heavy character development before the whole concept of a romantic relationship appears. Also she's a closeted trans woman and she ends up coming out in the Aftermath part of the AU hahahahah

As for the Enemies to Enemies duo dynamic... It's just gotta be Dandy and Vee. That flower and that robot were #1 and #2 Gardenview's Egotistical Fucking Asshole respectively and constantly fought for attention/power in the workplace.

I try to! I've been fairly good about it recently. But I've had periods where I've been almost entirely out of fandom, and there's a pile in my inbox that are years overdue replies. And I reply because they make me feel good and I want to appreciate that! Every now and again I sit down an answer a pile from, like, 2020 with a biiiig apology and it genuinely lifts my spirits to do so.

What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?

dust and ashes. sometimes we process grief on the internet!

but for f1 rpf specifically, well. That'll be either the living and the dead or no second chances, depending on which mid-season driver change devastated you most.

oh god nearly all of them in some way or another, I love a happy ending (in fact there's an ask in my inbox right now that's indirectly about that). in terms of feeling like sunlight after a storm, three's a crowd. the rest are more soft landings after a gentle flight, imo.

Sort of. I've written MCU fic that crossed over with X-Men before Deadpool got there. And there's some others languishing in my G-drive.

If AUs based on established media count, then yeah, definitely - I've got some (thinly drawn) ideas for Inception and James Bond F1 rpf fics.

I don't think so! if I have, I forgot. I forget many things.

Yes, yes I do. And it's getting smuttier. What kind, um- idk, there tends to be a plot attached, or a plot emerges eventually. It's mostly slash? (Does Rule 63 George count as slash or nah??)

I have a vague recollection of reading something once that made me go 'hmmmm' but once again, my memory issues save me from recalling if it was actually a thing or if it was a two Dennis the Menaces situation.

No but I had my first podfic made this year! nony podficced positive negatives and don't like a gold rush, which is great because I consider them sister fics.

I am cowriting one right now with @latecomersprivilege. It's about the Australian GP and orgasm denial. Yes, this year's Australian GP. We're so good at meeting deadlines and writing in a timely manner (it's completely my fault).

What's your all-time favourite ship?

Merlin/Arthur, from BBC's Merlin. I only have one Merthur fic that I've let stay alive, but Merlin still occupies such a peculiar place in my life. I watched every season live, I participated in fandom to an extent I probably never will manage again - I loved those boys. I love them still.

What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?

that one enjolras/grantaire fic that was going to be my magnum opus and ground to a halt at 20k. Some folders of my G-docs are cemeteries.

What are your writing strengths?

Worldbuilding, I think. Or, since that's quite a broad term, creating worlds that feel lived in. I'm not necessarily coming up with crop rotations and a full economy, but I think I'm good at suggesting the picture continues beyond the frame of the story. Also, I like to think I have a grasp on rhythm.

What are your writing weaknesses?

length length length. I hit 20k in a doc and my brain stutters to a stop, which means I really struggle with executing ideas that deserve longer. I am also very bad at editing. This is a terrible trait. And I write slooooowly.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I get very nervous about this as a mono-lingual person, because I don't want to end up turning actual languages into catchphrases? But I also want to reflect how our international blorbos speak. I do LOVE when authors make a point of saying someone is speaking in French etc vs English, even when it's translated for the reader, to make a point about intimacy.

harry potter. scoured that from the internet a while ago

What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?

I have an elaborate strollonso fic in me. Unfortunately I do have to write the 50k galex fic it's a sequel to first. And, uh, remember what I said about length being a weakness of mine?

What's your favourite fic you've written?

I did a five favourite fics ask a couple of months back, and it mostly holds true, but I think I have to add three's a crowd now, because it kind of snuck up on me as a concept, and I damn near hated it by the end of writing it, and then was embraced so kindly by readers I could actually look at it anew and remember why I wanted to write it. And that's quite precious.

hmmmm i think it would be my owl house daemon au....i think a post-canon collector-centric story in which they have to content with their past because the archivists return somehow and they're also a hexside student now would be really fun. espeically cause i'd get more space to explore them being an owl since that happens late in the series itself. but i dont think i ever will cause my owl house days are long over lol.

20. in what year did you publish your first fic?

2017! it was some short stories about my warrior cat fanclans. i have a LOT of warrior cat fic from that time period that just exists on my laptop its sort of wild to look back. a lot of it was inspired by radical face bc this was the time i found that music so thats kinda cool.

27. your favorite part of the writing process

when everything is coming together and the words are just flowing out....like i get into this zen state and then i blink and its two hours later and ive written like 7k words. literally the best feeling.

i also really like when projects follow me around and i get ideas for them throughout the day, and when i finish something ive been working on for a long time! its a huge sense of accomplishment and then it means i have something really fun to read again. or i move on from the fandom so fast cause i did it. i said what i had to say. but either way its great.

Little piece based on my Roman Empire au. basically it's the gods who didn't shift trying to work out why everyone else did. everyone is sad and lonely and traumatised.

breakdown ⬇️

✨Apollo✨. This au is centred around him. Basically he's trying to work out why everyone around him suddenly went all dark and violent (especially Artemis because Diana is MUCH more witchy scary than her). He goes around the block. Olympus is different. He's a Dii Consente now. Hestia (Vesta) has replaced Dionysus on the council so he goes off to find Dionysus (and finds Bacchus/Liber). He goes to visit Artemis (who is Diana and hates him). He goes to visit his mother (who is Latona and unsure why he keeps insisting she has a daughter called Artemis). He goes to visit Asclepius (who is Aesculapius, and still locked away). He tries to find the muses (who I just can't find mentioned in the Roman era much so they're just gone). Finally he goes to the Fates, and they're like "well, everyone's gone 😊. They're never ever going to come back the way they were 🤗. Bye 🤪" and then he goes and cries and shit but he gets better!!! He has some besties.

Nemesis!! She's goddess of retribution (revenge) so she turns up because Helios (Sol) keeps bitching about Apollo stealing his schmick. (Apollo didn't become associated with the sun until early Roman days). So she comes to Apollo and she's like "girl, this boy won't shut up. Also he hates you." And Apollo, standing with his new house on fire, is like, "YOU THINK???" and somewhere along the way they both work out neither of them switched like everyone else. (Nemesis has been a bit lonely down in the Underworld. Proserpina as Persephone, Pluto as Hades, Trivia as Hecate, Nox as Nyx, Somnus as Hypnos, Mors/Letum as Thanatos). So they both kind of stick together and Nemesis makes Apollo realise that legitimately a lot of people hate him for being a piece of shit back in Greece.

Iris is a messenger for the gods, and she's kind of peeved that MERCURY is getting all the credit for it, especially when Mercury's a little bitch. (didn't she mention in cotg that she wasn't annoyed at Ganymede for taking her role as cupbearer, but was annoyed Hermes had taken over messaging?) But she has first had experience just how much the gods have changed now. (MARS IS CALM?? HMMMM??? NO VIOLENCE ALL THE TIME???) but she's at a lot of the Roman Olympus parties and just kind of watches Apollo get drunk and shit because a) he doesn't want to be there and b) he doesn't want to remember that the family he's there with isn't his family. And at one point she's kind of like alright bitch that's enough, and she forces him to take care of himself <3

Apollo comes across while searching for Dionysus. Ariadne is usually just Ariadne in Roman times but sometimes she's Libera, like how Dionysus is Liber instead of Bacchus at times. So I kind of figured she'd be Libera whenever Dionysus was in Liber form, and be Ariadne whenever he was Bacchus. So as well as her husband being completely crazy, she also blacks out at times to get taken over by another goddess. This stops happening over time but it's still really annoying. Anyway Apollo tries to talk to her after he realises she's Ariadne, and girl gets pissed because why is Apollo the same and her husband completely not? She has this idea or something that Apollo did something to make this happen and Apollo is literally like "I AM JUST AS DISTRESSED AS YOU ARE" but he's also not sure whether it IS his fault or not. anyways Ariadne comes round after a few years and chats to him at a party on Olympus and she sort of gravitates towards his little group because she's very very lonely.

Britomartis is a Hunter of Artemis and doesn't generally hate Apollo, but doesn't like him either. But she, like all the other hunters, is 100% caught off guard when Artemis switches to Diana. And Apollo is around a lot because he wants to work out Diana and doesn't want her to hate him (which she does). Idk. Diana is very volatile in my head (at least during Roman Empire days) and gets very annoyed when her hunter's call her Artemis, so Britomartis sort of slips away and starts hanging out with Apollo, mainly because she's a little bit worried about him, and mainly because she knows Artemis would want him to be okay, even if Diana didn't care.

Ganymede probably got so much whiplash from this whole thing poor kid. Like, he's one of the newest gods to the pantheon, and suddenly everyone just shifts up and is super ANGRY. and bros like I am literally fourteen chill please. but he's up front with a lot of the gods as their cupbearer, so he sort of has to internalize his breakdown until he goes to Apollo and is like "get me tf out of here". And Apollo's like slowly recovering and is like holy fuck this boy traumatised, so he takes Ganymede under his wing and eventually just kidnaps him away from Jupiter. (he's a protector of youth, so I like to think he helped Ganymede settle in after his abduction).

Triton is pulled along by Iris. He's a messenger too and Iris kept messaging as a little defiance because there's no way the little punk Mercury is going to take her job. So she keeps in touch with all her friends and realises quite quickly that Triton is still Triton. Actually a lot of the sea deities stay the same, except mainly Poseidon as Neptune and Amphitrite as Salacia. And obviously Triton is the most affected by their change as they're his parents. He's not on the verge of fading but.. he is. Romans don't worship minor sea deities (which is why a lot of them didn't change) and he's kind of losing his will to go on while feeling like a stranger in his own house. So Iris pulls him away and up to hang out with all the others and he gets less lonely <3

Thetis was like a butterfly effect. Iris pulled Triton and Triton was like fuck it you're coming too. It's a little.. tense to say the least between Thetis and Apollo, but they warm up over time (centuries). It also gives Apollo the chance of redemption there. Also thetis doesn't like looking human and never has since she was forced to be with Peleus for a year. Thetis also like being a little shit and she will use that against Apollo.

Psyche!!! I love her. Obviously the switch up between Eros and Cupid is crazy. I cannot imagine Psyche being amused with her husband being a little child thing. And she didn't hate him, because she's all about loving the soul and stuff, but it did fed her up, so she kind of gravitated towards the gang. Psyche and Ariadne were probably friends before everything anyway since they could've bonded over both originally being mortals. Also Apollo being a little "she's the wife of the guy that cursed me and Daphne" character development

nesta archeron & genji shimada. so to preface for all of these i have very basic knowledge of nesta and acotar (i literally read the first book LOL) but! i do have a royal guard esque fantasy verse for genji, i'm not sure how cyborgs may fit or not into nesta's world but i could see him winding her up and maybe aid her? he's quite morally neutral so can def go against orders if he deems it to be for the greater good etc.

nesta archeron & amélie lacroix. i think they would haaaaaaate each other, such clashing personalities! again i'm not sure if there's some sort of faction (maybe wizardry?) that might have experimented on amélie to make her the way she is but she's definitely now an assassin for insert evil faction/agency here... happy to do research but maybe she's been ordered to kill nesta or someone she cares about! tensions etc.

nesta archeron & faith lehane. faith would fit great into a fantasy verse albeit no details ironed out atm, she tends to have a roguish charm and i think slayers as an idea could implement pretty well! idk if you think nesta would be endeared to her or hate her guts tho (everyone loves her in the end)

nesta archeron & deacon st. john. hmmmm nesta apocalypse verse maybe? i can't think of much else other than bringing her into that world as deacon's pretty grounded there atm -- he's got a funny thing about women / protecting them / generally benevolent misogyny that he needs to kick tbh so i could see him being overbearing and sheltering her and nesta just... telling him to fuck off bc she can do this herself dksdfkl

nesta archeron & mike munroe. consider.... mike being a very secretive fan of her romance novels LOOOOL so unserious but so very him. idk what more plotwise but i think that's a GREAT funny starting point and it could blossom into who knows what sort of dynamic

^ not to group all three of these but given my Small(tm) knowledge of specifics, all three could work really well in fantasy! for i think obvious reasons but to specify: malia being a werewolf, alec being a shadowhunter which i think incorporates well in most verses (although i do sometimes make him elven for aus) and vanasha is kinda a mystery woman of many faces that delves for information and barters in intel/knowledge, albeit a fierce warrior to boot. i do believe she'd fit really well into the illyrians/night court but i'd have to do more research! not definitively placing her there.

danika fendyr & lisbeth salander. not certain how lisbeth fits in fantasy (is there much room for technology in acotar LOL) just to figure out how her hacker vibes translate but there's definitely some infiltration expert rogue feels i could look into. danika seems cool! i think lisbeth would like her and who knows maybe they got up to mischief and to some extent grew up together / enabled each other?

darla of velaris & beatrix kiddo. nawt sure how to best integrate this one, is darla interested in an assassin KSFKLD i could easily fabricate a fantasy verse for beatrix if i looked into some type of martial arts magic for her but where she fits in story / dynamic wise would need some plotting!

bryce quinlan & alisha daniels. from a quick wiki look these two could both be party girls/rulebreakers! i'm not certain where alisha would fit verse wise (sexual magic folks succubus vibes) or even if they'd get along or be like nemesis levels of hatred to one another but.... i can see it

hayley marshall & dutch van der linde. does.... hayley wanna become a cowgirl KLSDKFLDKL i can modernise him to a more general outlaw/crime/mafia gang leader but whether you see hayley getting involved in that is up to you! i can see them majorly butting heads but i mean i could also look at the van der linde gang as a wolf pack who knows and maybe they have rival turf wars or even an alliance... much to think about

andras sauveterre & hana song. hana is a bit of a wildcard but i could maybe see her as some sort of druid (loose connections to bunnies being exploited here) or high fae with a rabbit form, cuuute <3 i'd have to incorporate other bits of her lore but as a base! maybe they could get along and be wholesome in an otherwise war-riddled world

Our beloved MC Yuuji: This has canon information, he'd be a firefighter. I can't think of anything else for him too tbh, it's the perfect job for him, he'd have been awesome at it. I love firefighter Yuuji it's adorable like AHHHHH good job kid!

Gojo: Not a teacher that's for sure. Probably some kind of researcher in astrophysics who also does martial arts competitions on the side. And a chess or shogi player too. He's the guy who randomly shows up in places he really shouldn't be.

Nobara: A fashion major in Tokyo. I feel like she'd go for a job that pays high even if it isn't particularly her interest and be ruthless in climbing higher. I'm just picturing her in a Devil Wears Prada movie situation where she's the assistant to Miranda Priestly who somehow can actually go above and beyond what Miranda wants from the start and leaves her to the dust to get a better opportunity with someone else.

Geto: Cult leader Teacher! He actually has the ability to be a good influence on the younger generation, I think he'd find joy in helping kids out and providing them with a safe environment. Probably volunteers a lot on his free time, still has that hero complex which he had at the beginning of Hidden Inventory but this time it doesn't go bad.

Junpei: He probably went to school for film and media, but I think he'd go on to work in counseling or switch to that. Supporting students, working in places that help with bullying. Determined to become a proper adult who isn't stuck playing the hierarchy games of high school(weirdly enough I see him becoming somewhat like Nanami in attitude). Oh my god Akashi and Zuko in JJK!!!! i was thinking about this a lot!

Akashi would THRIVE in JJK in terms of power but emotionally he'd be a wreck. His Emperor Eye is somewhat like Gojo's Six Eyes combined with precognition. I honestly think he'd be like Gojo; Emperor Eye would be an inherited trait like Six Eyes with the ability to see everything that's occurring in his surroundings and through that he has precognition to see what moves anyone would make within a specific radius(it probably extends to all of Japan and more or something that ridiculous) The smaller the radius, the more accurate and farther into the future his precognition is.

His CT....hm, probably has something to do with disabling or scrambling someone's cursed energy so that they become unable to use it. I'm trying to replicate the effects of an ankle break on a large scale lol in terms of CE. Hmmmm......I've entered Gege nonsense territory and come up with a way for this to work.

I'm gonna call it 'Kaleidoscope'. So what a kaleidoscope does is it has two or more angled mirrors inside a tube of some sort, and an object placed within it is reflected multiple times based on how the mirrors are angled. If you twist a kaleidoscope, the reflections change and create wild patterns. Now imagine that instead of an object, it's CE, and instead of a reflection, it's ACTUALLY getting split up and scrambled in symmetrical fashion.

Kaleidoscope makes it so that a person's cursed energy is split up into parts and twisting according to Akashi's will, so the person fighting him becomes unable to redirect the course of their CE to something stable.

(does this make sense? In my head it makes sense lol. Gege I finally understand your thought process lol).

He'd have a Domain Expansion 100% and I wanna say it'd be a basketball court lol, but I think it'd be something like Sukuna's in terms of visuals; an actual emperor's court.

Onto Zuko!!! I love Zuko so much as a character and I think he's great and with that being said, he wouldn't last a week in JJK. He's dead within 7 days or less. You need to have a certain kind of personality to survive in the JJK world and Zuko's got whatever personality type it is that would not only make him bad at advancing his CT, but would actively kill him.

His CT!!! I think he'd be a shikigami user and his shikigami is Druk(and maybe a few more dragons like Ran and Shao). Probably comes from a large clan and he's considered the clan disappointment because he has no ability to create fire on his own. But his medium would still be fire, I imagine he carries around a light or a wick(but later gains the ability to manipulate and produce fire). Uses dual blades, which are cursed tools, to fight(also another thing his family dislikes him for). The dragon shikigami is likely an inherited trait that the clan actually doesn't like because it relies on external fire sources. I think lightning would also be an inherited trait which Azula got and that's the one they've all been wanting to see. Both re-emerged after hundreds of years.

Shadowgast mer AU but this time it’s Mer!Essek

Oh man this one is actually pretty difficult for me! Hmmmm. I'm struggling with plot so you're going to get Vibes 😂

Having done the Lone Merman thing in Mercaleb, I sort of like the idea of submerging the whole Dynasty and making the Drow a mer-people. Or maybe a selkie-type people, so there can be land shenanigans. Essek still plays taxi for the M9, Keyleth tree-walk style, except he can do it with bodies of water. At some point there are shenanigans with what body of water is large enough, and a bathtub, and a lot of people in a small space. If there's a selkie component, there's gotta be drama around Essek's coat. I wouldn't give it to the Assembly, as this would remove Essek's agency as a traitor, but perhaps he gives it to the M9 for a period of time as part of his desperate bid for a second chance with their trust.

18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I like it, both as a reader and a writer! It can be used well for character flavoring, but is also frequently misused in a way that makes fic harder to read. If it's large chunks of text, especially with plot relevant information, I prefer another indicator that the language has shifted, like italics or a dialogue tag. I think it works best when the author has a reason for it besides "they're speaking another language", like they don't want the readers to understand what's being said, or the character is trying to deceive someone who doesn't speak that language.

#3, 7, 12, 13, and 22 for the Surprisingly Angsty No Order 66 AU!

YESSS MY SORT OF NEWEST MAJOR AU!!!!

3. Did anything inspire this au?

Yeah! So, this came about because of my penchant for giving Sabine and Ezra their own Year On The Run (a la obitine) in No O66 AUs. In this one in particular--which started as my idea for Day 5 of Sabezraweek but is now it's own thing--the original idea was that after Ezra and Caleb got Sabine home, she actually did ask Ezra to stay, but he said he couldn't. The fic was set five years later, when they're reunited, and it was supposed to be silly fluffy mutual pining with a touch of regret about their separation. Then the Pain Monster that lives rent free in my brain said "hey let's make this hurt" and heheh. um. yeah so now there's A Lot Of Angst!

7. What ships are canon in this au?

Well, Sabezra, of course. Kanan and Hera are also lowkey background married with a baby (Jacen) on the way. Anidala is also a thing. Those are the 3 main ones that show up in the part of this AU that I'm writing now, but I think there'll also be HanLeia hints, since Leia is a big part of this fic too. Oh, and there's a past Sabine/OC relationship (which ties heavily into The Angst Part Of This.)

Other than those, outside of this particular fic but in the AU as a whole, I think there's some Obitine (Obi-Wan has plans to retire from the Jedi Order when the Council and/or Cody tells him he's gotten too old to go on reckless rescue missions, and move to Mandalore, where people will encourage him to go on reckless rescue missions), Vostress, Blyla... basically all my ships, I guess?

12. What's your favorite line from this fic?

It's not done yet, but I think this line is my favorite so far!

Ooh okay!! Hmmmm. Okay, this is somewhere right in between crack and angst--after Sabine and Ezra have separated, before they've met up again.

"Uncle Caleb?" "Yeah, Leia?" he asked, as she leaned into the salle. She gave him a pained look. "Luke and I were trying to be emotional support for Ezra, but Luke decided we needed 'situationally appropriate music' for the traumadump, and..." Caleb sighed, switching his saber off and hooking it onto his belt. "And?" "Are you familiar with the song Last Kiss?" "No, but I can guess." He stood up. "Where is he?" "Ezra? Facedown on my rug, crying."

22. What was the hardest to write about this fic?

I think the big thing is the emotional complexity I'm trying to pin down in this fic. It's an angsty fic, so it's important to have the feelings be believable, and to write them in a way that flows. And there's a lot of feelings involved--sadness, bittersweetness, resentment, regret, confusion, heartache--and putting those all together in the right amounts is proving to be a definite challenge. A challenge that I have high hopes of vanquishing! Buuuut a challenge nonetheless.

It's definitely not where Stain is going! I need Alex in Sebastian's house regularly if they're to ever actually fit together properly (there's too much conflict between them that it sort of needs to be 'encouraged' through proximity), and if I get Alex into a bakery, it's game over and we have a neutral little coffeeshop AU where nothing happens between Alex and Sebastian, because bakeries typically run during the day and Sebastian works at night x.x and also Alex does not love cooking and neither does Sebastian. Cooking reminds Alex of a) his mom dying and b) his gran dying. Because they were things he had to learn to do, during both. So...

They both like eating though, lol.

Tbh I like the...realism of towns like this very rarely having much by the way of eateries, especially if they're not a huge tourist location. It's normal for places like to this to only have - if they're lucky - a single saloon/pub/tavern. And unfortunately like, Alex could get pizza whenever he wanted from the Stardrop Saloon, but his aversion to alcohol, and alcoholism, completely rules it out for him. (Sebastian could get it for him though, and bring it home e.e)

But yeah, a lot of places like this don't have cafes. They don't have bakeries. That's...pretty normal. And while I think a cool story could be made from like - a bakery or cafe opens in Pelican Town - this story is more in the direction of 'Sebastian starts providing for Alex and maybe stares at his ass sometimes while he's cleaning' lol. I'm moving towards a world where Alex has to work less hard, and not harder, and like...life is not easy for the bakers and the baristas of the world! (And it wouldn't really get Alex away from his extremely small income, either).

Alex's yearning for things like pizza, and bakeries, and delivery services are representative of a deeper yearning for him to feel like he can have convenience and ease in his life. He's not expressing a desire to work harder, he's expressing a desire for things to be easier. Starting a small business would be extremely counterproductive to that, and it's also not what he's thinking of.

Sebastian's role in the story - or one of them - is to be a provider of that ease in Alex's life. It's thorny in the beginning, but like... Alex has a deep-seated desire to feel cared for by someone, and to feel like life could be easy, even if just for a day. He doesn't really know what that feels like, even when his grandparents took care of him, because he still had so much trauma in his past and he was living a lie.

So some of Alex's dreams - I wish I made more money, I wish I could get pizza, I wish there was a delivery service - are centred all around the desire to...just be happier, to feel comforted, to have his needs met, to not have to work so hard. So yeah, in a way, he's expressing a desire to not have to do it all on his own anymore. He doesn't know that about himself though. It's convenient, because Sebastian enjoys being a provider, and enjoys the power he feels re: being able to support others, which makes them a good match, heh.

(There's probably a cafe or bakery mod out there though, anon, for the actual game!)

7. What inspired the idea for the plot?

So Abby was created early on in S1, and it wasn't until I was talking with my friend where I thought about aging her down and sticking her with Aegon. The mistress route seemed unappealing to me (although I do have an AU where that is, and it's sort of outlined at a high level). So then I got to 'well, what if Aegon married Abby' and then I had to go into why he would marry Abby. And so it came from looking at those reasons that the plot properly was born from. I can have the romantic and character driven story of Aegon being veered onto a better path through his relationship and marriage to Abby, but I can't just make a story out of that. So I spent... five months? Rattle testing the reasons around. Some may dislike it, but I think it works on a lot of levels. (And then, of course, I wanted to try come up with a future where everyone makes it out alive/have the endings I wanted them to have)

16. What was the easiest scene to write?

Hmmmm. I think the Date Chapters have been the easiest next to the argument they have in the hallway. I wasn't overthinking them too much, I knew what I wanted, and they came very easily to me. I think they showcase the range of these characters in a simple way in how they interact together.

24. Did you write every scene in order? What was the first scene you wrote, and what was the last?

I do not! Most of the time I do but if I'm struggling with a certain section, I'll jump ahead to the next POV in the chapter to take a break.

The first scene I wrote was the first scene in the story! Alicent always started this off and opening it that way was always how I was going to do. The last scene I wrote was the last scene in the hunt chapter (which is what I'm coming back with after hiatus)

first impressions- tbh i thought he was a weird ass bitch who needed cough drops bc his lil villain cough was making no one but the butterflies scared. like his ability was rlly cool but i didn’t really get him at first. also his name took me ages to pronounce 😭😭

impression now- genuinely one of my fav characters!!! he’s such a guy y’know. a goofy little guy. but i do rlly like his backstory and how he persevered and fought through ever and still was a morally bad person. like i luv seeing characters i adore suffer to hell and back and then finally find some sort of broken peace with themselves. aku allowing himself to value his own wants and needs after fighting atsushi and seeing him grow as a character is just perfect. 10/10 i luv him my blorbo forever <3

favourite moment- anything in wan tbh. i know i just went on a heartfelt rant abt aku but. wan aku is the true star let’s be honest. i mean look at him. just stare into those soulless eyes.

idea for a story- uhhhhh i not very creative gimme a sec… i think him finding himself with a pet would be cool. yknow like he gets attached to some stray cat and then ends up taking it in. and i feel like it would force himself to see that he can be a good person and there is beauty in life. the cat may or may not resemble a certain someone

unpopular opinion- ummm idk rlly? i guess i hc him somewhere or the aro/ace spectrum but i dunno if that’s an u popular opinion

favorite relationship- right so obvi sskk bc i am unoriginal and one with the masses. but. i luv it when chuuya and aku have like a father son relationship. or even when gin and him get to just hang out and chill. i just luv the idea of aku constantly chasing dazais approval and chuuya being like “bitch i fucking raised you the mf left after a year”

fav headcannon- hmmmm prob the hc tha he can’t cook? like he can’t boil water even. i just find it funny that it’s like the one thingy dazai passed down to him. father son duo that can blow up your kitchen in five seconds.

bram:

first impressions- i was so exited when i saw the name bram stoker omg. i haven’t actually read dracula but i’ve heard enough to abt it that ik brams ability would be sick. and god i thought it was so cool. and also the fact that bram was just a shish kebab was sending me and i immediately loved him

impression now- still absolutely in live with him and his character. he’s just like the biggest mood in all of bsd. and his and aya’s relationship is so freaking cute i luv them sm

favourite moment- either when he says he’ll be aya’s knight at the end, or when aya’s like bram what do we do about the apocalypse he’s like “sleep in a hole for a couple centuries.” i would love to sleep in a hole for 200 years every time i had a problem. it would be great.

idea for a story- i think it would be rlly interesting if it was a college and no abilities au and him and mary shelly and adam were besties. like it would be great. they would be the besties fr

unpopular opinion- uh i dunno… i kind of think that he shouldn’t have gotten his body back? at least not when he did? like don’t get me wrong he slayed and saved aya and stuff. but i feel like tbh ere was so much to use with his shish kebab state. i don’t know i think it was underutilized

favourite headcannon- oh i don’t know where i saw this but i luv the idea of him using like a cane or mobility aids. for balance probably, but i think it would be so cool for bram to have a cane. he’d look badass with it. best part is he can bonk ppl with it :D

This would kind of depend on what sort of things you like to write but some ideas off the top of my head maybeeeee if you like writing character interactions then maybe put 'em in a high stress situation like a mission gone wrong or something and let them bicker and argue and then make up?? I really enjoyed their arguing in vol3 esp with Mantis calling Nebula out for being a jerk so that could be fun to use as a jumping off point!

You could take a page out of the holiday special's book and do something with Peter showing the guardians other holidays and go from there?

First reunion post-vol3 after Mantis goes off on her own for who knows how long?

There's also always AUs if you're interested in that and have some other media you like and think it would be fun to stick the characters into. Some settings are just fantastic for AUs like i go crazy for pacific rim AUs personally and i have a digimon au i like to doodle for fun every now and then. It's really fun to just take some characters and stick them in another setting sometimes lol
