Hephaestus defends Hera from Zeus’s abuse a couple of times, and Hera praises him in the Iliad and Dialogues of the gods, So I don’t really understand ppl writing them like they hate each other. Yes Hera is a terrible mom, yes their relationship is a mess but I don’t think they outright hate each other, it’s more complicated (and interesting) than that.

Whats with these random ass blogs that have their toes in multiple random fandoms (which is fine) but then they just have one singular post about how much they hate a character on miraculous? Hello? Is that the only thing you want to say about the ladybug show? Why is there multiple of you's doing this, hello???

cw: misogyny, toxic fans
im not caught up with MHA so no explicit spoilers but apparently deku and uraraka didn't canonically end up together and now dudebros are being absolutely disgusting towards uraraka. And im not surprised, they've only ever seen her as an object after all. They switched on her the second she stopped being a prize, moving onto the next girl they find hot (even if it makes zero sense)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I dont recommend going into the replies of any of them, it's full of sexism. They literally cannot fathom that a crush storyline could be used for anything other than being the mc's prize. The fact is that uraraka's crush was used as a foundation for her to relate to and connect with Toga. Whether or not she ended up with Deku is irrelevant. Her growth depended on her relationship with another girl--not the protagonist-- and they can't stand that.

the fact that we, the audience, are so privy to how much five would and could and has and will kill and die for the safety of his family is not actually something mirrored by the other characters. this information is communicated to us, the audience, because we get to see the scene where five finds the corpses of his siblings. we get to see him kill an entire room full of people to ensure their survival. we watch him do these things.
but the other characters do not... and in fact, five goes out of his way to make sure that they don't know. when speaking to them, the framing is about saving "the world". the only time five concedes individual life in spoken dialogue is when he manipulates allison by pointing out "the world that claire lives in" in season 1. five lies to his siblings, manipulates them, yells at them, berates them, and is generally cruel and uncaring about their struggles. allison's grief in season 3 is pretty singularly his fault. and he doesn't really care, ultimately. because hes not fighting to make his siblings happy, hes fighting to keep them alive. in five's mind, the ends justify the means. always.
but this does not foster love between him and his siblings. regardless of how we can extrapolate his behavior and identify how he cares for them, from their perspective, hes an asshole who's mean to them a lot. and even from his perspective, his siblings are, genuinely, an obstacle in their own survival. because he won't explain himself to them (ergo making them resistant to listening to him), and, truly, because he's willing to make difficult decisions they either can't or won't, he sees himself as the arbiter of their survival, and not in an entirely loving way; it's half the resentment of the parent of reckless, feckless children, disciplining the children to keep them alive
is this accurate? in some ways yes, in some ways no. but its how he feels about them. so yeah, hes willing to be mean to his siblings. hes willing to hurt them. he has and he can and he will hurt them, knowingly and on purpose. five is selfish. he takes what he wants and damn anyone who gets in his way. its just that, in s1-s3, what he wants is the survival of his siblings (and he even damns them for getting in his way, too).
so "five would never" .... ehhhh......................He might. He might............. you'd need to sell it to me a bit more... but, would LILA though? thats the real question

oh boy I wonder why this masc character has a huge fanbase compared to a woman with the exact same deal that he's intended as a parallel for. I wonder why people obsess over and extend sympathy towards the man over the woman. I wonder why she's either commonly hated or objectified. I wonder why people are willing to obsessively analyse and elaborate upon what little content there is of these male characters while dismissing the woman with the exact same deal as inherently boring and unworthy of deeper thought. I fucking wonder why

I'm really struggling not to lose my patience with articles on AI art and/or writing, arguing that AI somehow levels the playing field for people who wouldn't otherwise be able to make art.
As if creative people don't continually work on and improve their craft. Like it's just some inate quality bestoyed upon people.
Not something that can be worked on. That can grow. Improve.
In my time in fandom, I've been awed by the progress of creative people over the years. I love seeing people’s skills grow and develop.
And yet, there seems to be a group of people who view that hard work with contempt. Envy.
Like it's inherently unfair that some people can do things they can't and don't want to work towards.
And I get it. I see amazing art and wish I could be that talented. I wish my pencil would render characters as I see them in my head. I look at my fumbling attempts at fanart and feel despondent when I look at incredibly accomplished artists.
But then I look at my art from last week, last month. Last year. And I see improvement. I see progress. And perhaps I'm not where I want to be but I'm doing better. Because I worked at it. I learned and grew.
It's the same with my writing. I re-read fics I wrote a few years ago when I started writing again and I see all the flaws. The clumsy phrases and awkward turn of phrase. And yet, if I hadn't written those messy fics, I would never had made progress and improved. And I'm absolutely sure I'll re-read what I've written and been satisfied with today and see the room for improvement. I'll cringe. But without the grunt along the way, I wouldn't have grown.
I'll never be an athlete. Or even what is considered fit. I've been chronically ill my entire life. Perhaps that's the difference. The perspective that many of these AI proponents don't have? I've never seen the ability to compete physically with others as something I could ever achieve and there was no reasonable way to level that playing field (and there still isn't) but this commodification of creative pursuits, this implication that it's something people deserve without having to at the very least try really, really gets my back up.

Sorry but Le'garde as Clear Sky fucks so much
A pale grey cat in the catacombs with a single minded determination for godhood no matter the cost. And it would be commendable if he also wasn't a war criminal and a huge dick about it.
Clear Sky just going into the Eldritch horror hole to become a god is just so in character, trying to become the god of the "Open Sky" Vast from TMA style, or maybe the God of the Clans, since he embodies the clans pretty well, single minded determination and bravery while also being a complete asshole.
Also it sorta works out but not really, which is also very Clear Sky to me
oh man that DOES fuck really hard. also ties the themes of F&H and BB!DOTC really damn well
we're just making a warrior cats funger AU now. and i am 10000% on board

hello karin uzumaki hater. in front of you is a pen and 100 page notebook. since you are particularly good at spotting instances of sexual assault in the naruto manga, i have no doubt you will be able to fill this notebook with all the instances in which both orochimaru and jiraiya have been sexually abussive or at least implied to be. you have 2 hours. if you dont, the floor will open up and you will be eaten by a shark. good luck.

Wait a sec how come Afton can stick his kid in the fear gas chamber to experiment with immortality for seemingly no reason in a book, but Vanny isn't allowed a knife in a game where she's supposed to be the main antagonist?
