Like, a serious, no-nonsense, advanced robot sent to a dystopian Earth on a mission to find signs of life meeting a little junker robot who sifts through trash, collects Rubik's cubes, and watches movies with his cockroach best friend, before the little trash robot is blasted into space for the first time when chasing after the scouting robot?

Ooh this is a hard one, as I’ve seen WALLE once when I was like 5.

Little trash robot is just a little too human and slowly teaches the other robot to have fun. Stiles would obviously be WALL-E, and Ava would be Derek.

But like also consider WALL-E is Roscoe, a robot that stiles helped build with his mother and is desperately trying to keep alive.

Ava is a robot given to the hale family, Derek doesn’t really think all that deep about it until he meets stiles.

The rich were able to leave the dying planet but the poor had to stay behind. Stiles family weren’t so lucky. He grew up hearing stories of the green plants and life that used to fill the earth. When his mother starts getting sick, he tries his hardest to grow even the smallest plant to make her smile again. Stiles is finally able to create a plant after burying his mother and years of trying.

Derek was born on the ship, has never thought of a life out the stars. He’s heard stories about the planet that his ancestors came from. This all changes the day a boy with dirt under his eyes breaks into his families home looking for a robot. Said robot is beeping happily at Ava.

He helps stiles chase wall-e and Ava around the ship, falling in love with how lively and open he is. Nothing like the elegant and cold people he grew up with. He greedily watches the emotions flicker across Stiles face. Drinking them in, like a parched man. The robots also accidentally created trouble that force Derek and stiles in close situations, like tying their feet together. (The robots ship sterek) Derek sees how desperately stiles tries to keep wall-e and the small sprout 🌱 alive. He greedily watches the emotions flicker across Stiles face.

Together they run across the spaceship creating chaos and shenanigans, (releasing rouge robots, falling into water fountains, running away and fighting against the dictator who controls the ship). In a desperate act to keep stiles alive Derek sends him home in an espace pod. Stiles screaming and pounding at the doors of the pod, trying to get them to open again. The last thing he sees is watching being forced to his knees, with a gun against his head.

Ava misses wall-e and she pulls up evidence of proof of life on earth and the ship starts to return.

Stiles has already returned and is distraught because he thinks Derek, the boy from the stars again is dead. He will never really know or have the chance to mourn. Well until dereks spaceship comes crushing into stiles back yard.

Cue dramatic and heartfelt reunion kiss. — “I thought you were dead!!”— and they live happily ever after creating new life on planet earth

Four months into my Teen Wolf renaissance and I am kind of fascinated by the way my interaction with it changed and shaped with this current rewatch of the show, the shift in priorities.

I used to monoship in this fandom. There was Sterek and nothing else.

Now I'm juggling multiple ships and my first ever poly-ships for this fandom. Which is a delight, because I'm a polyamorous person first and a writer second so to actually have poly-ships in this fandom sparks a whole lot of joy for me. So does generally having multiple ships, because I've always been a multishipper.

It's interesting though, that with these multiple ships, it has become very clear to me what's my actual most important dynamic for this fandom. Because it doesn't matter what the Stiles ship is, it doesn't even matter who the pack Alpha is and what pack we're talking about, I need Boyd and Erica to be alive and to be in Stiles' pack. These three mean the fucking world to me, they're the core. The pack around them may change, the romantic ship for Stiles may change, but those two are alive and together and beautiful and Stiles' pack.

Other things, I am much more flexible on. There are characters I don't particularly care whether they're portrayed as good friends or bad friends, but if a fic goes outta their way to keep Boyd and Erica alive just to have them be bad to Stiles, I am out of that story faster than you can look.

Jackson is slightly more negotiable. He's still very important to me and I prefer him to be in the pack, but there is also something appealing to him being in London and him and Stiles building a long-distance friendship after the Nogitsune, that phone calls and texts might make it easier for Stiles to talk about what happened, that the Nogitsune trauma and the kanima trauma bonds them. I prefer them to be pack, but they don't have to be, as long as they are still friends. If I have to see Jackson post season 2 sticking around and being pack, just to then be a bully to Stiles, I am also out.

Like. I do fully understand that all three have, you know, more or less antagonistic pasts toward Stiles. I also understand fics that just turn everyone aside from [romantic partner] against Stiles for max angst. It's just that these three? These three hurt me to read as bad friends.

The more I write and read for the fandom, the more important does Alpha Peter become to me too. Even outside of romantic Steter, it just... feels wrong to me when he's a beta even more wrong when he's Scott's beta ngl. There is so much healing, redemption and hope in the idea of Peter as an Alpha who gets to rebuild the Hale Pack and keep his family's legacy alive.

Used to be Derek for me, but the more I think about it, the... unhappier he seems as an Alpha in canon and the fonder I grow of the idea of him getting to be a Right Hand. Of him getting a second chance with a Hale Pack but without the burden of having to try and be the Alpha. (I do still love writing and reading Alpha Derek though, especially when it's Sterek. But if I had to pick a favorite Hale Pack dynamic, it'd have to be Alpha Peter and Right Hand Derek.)

Now, out of this list, Peter was the only real surprise. Even back in 2014, when I first got into this fandom, I preferred my Berica alive and as friends with Stiles and I liked my Stackson brOTP.

But genuinely the biggest surprise to me is how much I latched onto Spark Stiles, because this was something I used to actively avoid. I used to think of that as nonsense. I mean, come on, that was one episode and canon moved on from that, how did you grow that attached to it.

Somehow, this rewatch, I just feel very indignant about the fact that they really gave Stiles magic for one episode and then did jackshit with it. What the hell. After ten years, I finally understand why the fandom couldn't let go of that.

Comfortingly enough did my favorite thing not change in the past ten years though. Give me Pack Mom Stiles or give me death. That's still the best damn thing this fandom ever did, in my opinion, and whatever the ship or the pack or who the Alpha is, Stiles is Pack Mom.

But it is interesting to see how my own interaction with the story and the characters has changed over the past decade and on this third to fifth watch (depending on what season we're talking about. I've seen the first two seasons more often than the rest).

The thing I struggle the most with is how Derek is criticised very harshly for his mistakes, while a character like Theo is absolved of everything, because he *checks notes* can be shipped with Liam.

Theo is everything that people say they hate about Derek. He's manipulative, he kidnaps people, killed his sister, and is actually pushing Stiles out of Scott's life. The initial feelings of jealousy Stiles have for Derek in season 1 bear out here, in that Derek never wanted to push Stiles away, while Theo absolutely does.

Not that Theo isn't an interesting character. I like him, it's just that I recognise that, yes, he is a foil for Derek. Everything Scott thought Derek was, Theo is.

I've seen people say that Theo was brainwashed by the Dread Doctors to kill his sister, and you know, that doesn't actually absolve him of that. If we're playing that game, then Derek and Allison can do absolutely nothing wrong, because they're abused and manipulated throughout the series.

I actually am convinced that a lot of Derek haters never actually watched the show and are consumed by fanon interpretations of him. Like, Derek is described as being violent and abusive, with no thought put into how he approaches humans vs werewolves.

Aside from one instance (the steering wheel, and lbr, I don't think that hurt all that much), Derek is gentle with Stiles. He doesn't throw Stiles around, he pushed him against one door (contrast that with how Scott and Chris push Stiles around). With Scott, it's different. Scott is a werewolf. Scott can heal, and also Scott started their first fight and Derek responded.

That is the exact opposite of abusive. Justice for my boy, Derek Hale, unfairly hated because he tried to save peoples lives.

i feel like the type of fan that favors theo like this skews younger and they either watched the show in the later seasons once a lot of the original fandom had departed or they've only participated in fandom via fic.

these things are fine but it does seem to lead to continued mischaracterization and derek often seems to be the one who gets the brunt of it.

allison too is still raked over the coals for being gaslit by her entire family and than manipulated by gerard. i think people don't think chris and victoria's treatment of allison wasn't abusive and miss that her entire season 3 arc was her atonement for what she did at the end of season 2 and she died in the end. it wasn't a happy ending for her.

it also never fails to make me laugh when i see people shipping thiam but while saying sterek is problematic because of the age gap. it's like babe the call is coming from inside the house.

and i've said this before and i'll keep saying it season 5 theo raeken does a lot of loading bearing in season 5 due being a dark reflection of stiles and a narrative mirror to both derek and scott.

it was done very purposefully and flipped the script on scott. i didn't realize it was something of a controversial take until i posted about it lol. theo's entire function as character in season 5 is to be a mirror.

theo is scott's attempt at course correcting what happened with derek. which to me fandom seems to misunderstand and mischaracterize derek and scott's relationship and continues to pit them against each other over various slights.

theo also exposes scott's failings as a leader and his self-righteousness but so much of fandom seems to think that scott is some how flawless and doesn't receive punishment by the narrative. he was manipulated, his pack broke up, he was unable to save barely anyone and he died. theo was scott's punishment.

tl; dr fandom be wild.

ppl who shit on flowerfang amuse the hell out of me as someone who's been in fandom for over a decade now. Like yallre gonna cry and scream about a ship that's mid at best as far as popularity goes??? It's nowhere near the top of the charts? 300 fics on AO3 ain't nothing to sneer at but it's also nothing to have a conniption fit over. I swear they must be young b/c the hayday of teen wolf and sterek would have killed them instantly. Sterek was (and still is in many ways) a juggernaut of a ship, and flowerfang is like. Almost the exact same dynamic. Smart, capable teen meets edgy, fucked up older man who's part antagonist. The biggest difference is that the age gap is bigger (16/24 for sterek, 15/30ish for flowerfang) and that Miles holds his own physically against Miguel where Stiles is human and can't fight off werewolf Derek.

Anyways, all that is to say that I think flowerfang antis should go read a few sterek fics and calm down. there's 71k of em I'm sure they can find something they'll like

My thoughts on “Teen Wolf: The Movie”.

So I watched the new Teen Wolf movie. Ultimately. I'm giving it a six out of ten. While there was more I liked about the movie than disliked, I had quite a few  gripes.  

I didn't see it as horrendous as a lot of fans say it is, but there are a few valid critiques I've seen. Maybe I'm just easy to please.

I think some of the issues could have been fixed if there wasn't such a big time skip; like instead of fifteen years, five years. Maybe instead of raising a teenager, Derek would be raising a toddler. Though I don't think we'd get the same kind of story for Eli that way, especially for this generations teen wolf. 

Spoilers below.

1. So I got into Teen Wolf back in high school, and I remember being a die hard Scallison stan back then too. I'm not as big of a Scallison as I was back then, but I am glad to see them be endgame, if it wasn't for one small thing.

My main question is if Allison aged a bit after her resurrection ? Like is she still considered a teenager or is she considered a young adult now ? I feel like this is a nitpick, but some In-Universe clarification would be nice! Feels like something the writers overlooked.  

Then again, werewolves are slow to age in the show's lore, so I guess you can apply "Vampire Rules" to these kind of romances. Maybe I'm overthinking it. I mean the show used to tease Parrish and Lydia, in season four; back when she was a teenager, and he was in his 20's. As if over half the fandom wasn’t shipping Sterek.

Actually, while I was working on this post, I read that Allison was eighteen when she died, so that's...better I guess.

2. Speaking of Parrish, his and Malia's relationship...I'm okay with it, more so than Scott and Malia. I mean they didn't do much with either pairing. Maybe that's the Malira shipper in me talking.

With Scalia, it felt like they just slapped them together because Scott needed a love interest for the final season. You could make the argument that a lot has happened over fifteen years that we didn't see.

With Malia and Parish, it feels like there's a whole ass story we didn't see, but y'know, show, don't tell. 

3. While I'm on that, the movie leaves a lot open ended, that it felt like it was setting up a follow up. This is were most of my problems come from. I was thinking maybe it would tie into Wolf Pack, but I've been hearing that the show isn't meant to be a direct spinoff (or even the same universe) as Teen Wolf. 

One thing I'd like an explanation of is Eli's mother, which again feels like they're saving for a follow up. Speaking of Eli, he became an instant favorite of mine, and someone I wouldn't mind seeing again.

Also, the cursing and nudity in this movie, I'm not saying it's out of place, and far from being prudish. I like that they’re being more risqué, but I’m also glad they didn't go too overboard with it. Still,  “Darkness, you motherfucker” absolutely killed me!

Another gripe I had was that Kira didn't return. Like this is a story where kitsune are front and center, and one of the antagonists is a monster her mother helped bring into the world. 

You’re seriously telling me she’s not up for another round ?

We're introduced to a new Kitsune, Hikari, who I have nothing against, but it really feels like Kira could have (should have) filled her spot. Especially since Hikari didn't have a proper introduction for a new player. "Oh, Liam has a new girlfriend who's a kitsune ? Welcome to the team I guess."

4. The villains...here's where I have more of an issue. So the Nogitsune makes a comeback. Which is fine; I saw that coming as far back as the trailers. 

But the movie's other Big Bad is Adrian Harris, with no explanation for his survival. I mean sure, a slashed throat/strangulation is an injury you can survive, but the chances are often slim.

I could have easily bought this Big Bad Duumvirate, if there wasn't something that stuck out; Stiles wasn't there. 

I can accept that Stiles isn't part of the story. I can accept Stydia splitting up (albeit begrudgingly). But Stiles was the Nogitsune’s primary tormenting victim, and the one Harris had the most beef with. You telling me he wasn't on their radar ?!

You're telling me that even if Harris survived or came back, the first thing he wouldn't do was try to access the speed force and pull some Eobard Thawne buffoonery on Stiles ? 

Get out of town!

Anyways, the Nogitsune was a serviceable villain, but I feel like Harris could have been replaced with another past antagonist. Say Tamara Monroe, considering she was the series cliffhanger villain, and as of this movie her arc's unresolved. They probably wouldn't have been able to pull any kind of twist with her, but she at least would fit more. 

Hell, even Theo Raeken would have been more fitting; the guy such has a proud history of subverting whatever redeeming qualities thrown his way, I still have a hard time buying his “redemption” at the end of the series. Actually, it wasn't even a redemption, it was just the one genuine Pet the Dog moment the guy actually had.

Anyways, Harris probably would have been a better fit in a story that had Stiles in it.

5. Not gonna lie, Derek's death was something sorta I saw coming.

What I mean is, I certainly saw someone in the main cast was gonna die. That's like an unspoken rule in “Next Generation” sequels. But I thought it would be someone else. If not Derek, it would be one of the parents.

Who'd I'd probably have die instead would be Chris Argent. I mean if you're gonna bring back his daughter, you'd think one consequence would be that Chris would die in her place.

Derek's death, I'm more mixed on, but ultimately accept. I would have preferred if Chris was the one with the heroic sacrifice. I still think it would be a more fitting end than Derek’s.

I heard some complaints that Scott and Allison pretty much adopted Eli, but I didn't see it that way. When Scott and Eli interacted, I got more of an uncle/nephew vibe than any father/son thing. 

The way I see it, Eli just has a large support system following his father's death; a support system that just now includes Scott and Alison. And let's be honest, there's no way and hell Derek is gonna let Peter raise him.

I've been told this was intended to be the start of a trilogy, so if we get sequels, hopefully they'll fill us in on what we missed.

Never Let Go | Explicit Stiles shoved the strawberry he was holding against Derek’s lips and it mushed against Derek’s face. Stiles laughed. Derek sputtered as bits of strawberry went up his nose and Stiles laughed louder. Derek glowered at him and grabbed two strawberries, then clapped his hands to the sides of Stiles’ face, squishing them against Stiles’ cheeks. A World Remembered | Explicit Stiles stared for a moment then relaxed, smoothing a hand down the back of the cub against his chest. “Hey,” he said softly to Derek. “Hi,” Derek whispered. “I didn’t mean to intrude on you… I just wanted to bring you these.” He gestured to the cookies on the table, his stomach still feeling like it was stuffed full of snakes. It seemed like no matter what he did he was going to feel off balance around Stiles. “It's okay. We were just taking a nap.” Stiles looked down at the cookies and smiled. “You can stay if you want. 1. My take on their canon relationship: god it's been so long since I've actually watched the show. I think I watched like... 11 years ago? so speaking on their canon relationship is hard. I know I really liked Isaac, and was neutral with Scott. I also know 14 y/o me did not ship them, but that doesn't say much bc. I was exclusively focused on stiles, so I just didn't care enough to ship anyone else, you know? so unfortunately canon thoughts are. idk !

2. Do I ship them: yes ? no ? indifferent ?

1. My take on their canon relationship: so like truly canon, we know nothing about their relationship. BUT I do think with what we do know, it is entirely possible that would interact. there is so much potential for them to have so many different kinds of relationships (enemies, secret friends, secret lovers, strangers, etc.). I just really love how little we know, which gives us so much room to do whatever we want.

I also just really do love the dynamic of like, best friend's brother, different morals/upbringings, their ability to be so tragic, or to be so romcom. there's just so much creativity and freedom there that I can't get over it. 4. Headcanon, if any: I tend to hc that James isn't this sweet soft boy ball of sunshine, and regulus isn't sad poetry boy. that's just, not them to me. James to me will always be a rich only child, he will be a bit arrogant and a bit sure of himself. regulus will be stubborn and moody. and these things cause friction but also don't change just the complete draw they have towards one another.

Agreed. Fans always find something to complain about. It’s annoying with Sterek because I remember the homophobia that was around when the conversation about bi!Stiles was a thing. Remember,Jeff didn’t just bait Sterek. He baited Stiles being queer. Teen wolf never cared about its gay character and the treatment of Danny was awful. He wasn’t a main character. He was the best friend of one of the main characters, Jeff never explain where Danny went. No backstory, we know nothing about him. Mind you, Stereks loved Danny, wanted more for the character, loved the actor and his dynamic with Stiles. Hell i would have taken Danny as Stiles first high school boyfriend (mainly because I couldn’t see Derek dating a high schooler after how things went down with Kate) not to mention, Stiles had chemistry with Isaac, Jackson, Theo, even Boyd. There was plenty of age appropriate suitors for Stiles. Jeff and MTV just didn’t want Stiles being with a guy.

And the antis hate the idea of Stiles being bi because it could ruin their ships chance of having Dylan paired with some poor girl he has no chemistry with 🙄

Kinda confused at Sterek hate. Like, I’ve just been sitting happily in my little corner that I’ve curated for myself with lovely people that love all the ways they can fall in love. But a lot people really think we’re gross?

I thought Hoechlin said the age gap between them was originally supposed to be three years so that he would have been a senior when they were freshmen and that’s how they would’ve known him, but then JD decided to have Kate rape him so he had to age him up?

A lot of the haters try to pretend that Sterek shippers weren’t purposefully queerbaited, like that “we’re on a ship” moment didn’t happen. Also, they don’t seem to understand time progressing? In ALL of the Sterek fic I read their relationship is consensual and Stiles is above the legal age of consent. Stiles is in college, or back from college, or they’re just grown adults living their lives. I love a good slow burn, like years in the making: from enemies to begrudging allies to begrudging respect to friends to lovers. My favorites are Derek gets therapy. I would say the driving force behind me even getting into teen wolf fic was Derek Hale Deserves Nice Things, because holy shit JD hates him (which can be further proven by the recent movie, not that we were ever in any doubt).

Let’s also not forget that canon doesn’t have to matter in fic. We can pick and choose. You can age them up, down, make them the same age, there can be time travel, time skips, au’s where you can change literally anything.

Shipping them for me boils down to the chemistry between the actors playing them. The ship wouldn’t exist without it. If Hoechlin had been cast as Scott for some reason, I’m quite sure we would have been Sciles shippers. And the fact of the matter is the actors playing them were 19 and 23. Their chemistry on and off screen is what fueled their ship despite the fact that that may not have been the intention of the show, the writers, or even the actors themselves. I started watching Teen Wolf thinking Sterek would eventually be canon just from gifs of them together because that’s how strong their chemistry was.

I have read so much great Sterek fic, some of it was better written than books I’ve read, and it was given for FREE. I think that’s amazing and I just don’t get the hate lol.

STEREK SPACE AU (ASTRONAUT)

HELP! Alright, so I’m thinking (very actively) about doing a STEREK au based loosely around a cross between ‘The Martian’ and even more loosely ‘Interstellar’. I do mean loosely based and I know the kind of dynamic I want but I’m struggling to find a good plot. I have some rough ideas (obviously I could copy the abandoned on Mars shtick and lets be honest, probably will in the end) but I really want something cool, with like heaps of opportunity for awesome heroics and badass moves.

So please, if anyone thinks they may be interested in reading this and it’ worth me writing it, let me know. Please also be aware that if I do end up writing this it may take me a while…

“Stiles!”

“What did you do this time?” Scott asked, looking worriedly over at him from across the rec room.

“Nothing I swear!” Stiles replied emphatically, and was very much offended by the symphony of scoffs it elicited. “Alright well that was dramatic,” he sneered to the room in general.

Lydia eyed him pointedly but had no time to argue her case, because in that moment the sound of boots landing heavily on the metal polymer floor echoed loudly against the white back drop and glass. Well as heavily as one can land when they’re in a room currently spinning continuously in order to maintain its own artificial gravity. Which really isn’t that loud, but Derek makes it feel bigger when he accompanies it with that face. The one that promises its target a slow and torturous death.

“Whatever it is, I promise there’s an explanation.” He swears in an attempt to forestall any maiming in his near future.

Derek doesn’t seem to care. Instead he stalks forward, producing a piece of twisted sliver metal from his pocket and slamming it down in the middle of Stiles’ chess game. It may be symbolic that he manages to only disturb one piece, Stiles’ king tumbling to the ground softly.

“Not cool man,” Stiles complains indignantly, “I was only two moves away from check mate!”

“Wait? Really?” Isaac asks in confusion and no small amount of disappointment.

Stiles almost feels bad for the poor fella. Stiles had been pulled into a game with the second youngest crew member after much begging, and pleading, and manipulating with that soft, innocent looking face, since he was sure he finally knew how to beat his unbeatable friend.

Stiles had been watching him grow more and more excited as he ‘played’ right into Issac’s amateur level trap. He almost regretted sucking him in just from the heartbroken look on his face… almost.

“Hey, maybe next time buddy,” he offered placatingly, patting Isaacs arm affectionately.

“Are you going to explain this?” Derek suddenly shouted, causing both of them, and many others in the room, to jump from fright. “Or am I just going to wake up one day and find the command center has disengaged from the hull and half my crew are floating out into the infinity of space?”

Stiles rolled his eyes, “I think I’ve earned a modicum of trust when it comes to ship repairs Derek,” he grumbled, although he was slightly wary, because it did look like Derek was white knuckling a coupler to the chessboard, and now that he thought about it, he had abandoned his tinkering with the hull door automatic hinges to give Isaac a beat down for his trash talk. “Maybe I’ll just take that,” he suggested, reaching out to jimmy it from underneath clenching manly fingers.

“Maybe I should flush your ass out the purge doors with the next waste dump?” Derek threatened, but relinquished the coupler anyway.

“But then who would fix all the issues with Beacon?” He snarked playfully, falling easily into the natural stormy relationship he shared with his commander. One he believed was equally enjoyed, despite the rest of the team assuring him that he was the only one that took pleasure in their continuous banter. Stiles wasn’t worried, they just didn’t get Derek like he did.

“What issues?” Derek scoffed, “with you gone there would be no one to cause them.”

“Well now you’re just lying to yourself.”

“Stiles!” Derek growled, voice low and dangerous to match the fire in his glare.

“For the love of- untwist your panties will you. I’m fixing it.” He huffed, heaving out of the chair dramatically and shuffling unhurriedly towards the ladder Derek had just appeared from. “Asshole,” he tacked on at the end under his breath, forgetting that Derek’s hearing seemed impossibly perfect.

“You can’t talk to me like that!” Derek called after him, “I’m your commanding officer.”

“Doesn’t mean you aren’t also an asshole,” he shouted back has he hurried up the stairs to the sounds of Derek growling. He really shouldn’t talk to Derek the way he did. No one else in the crew would dream of it. They would tease and playfully banter, but they would never argue back when Derek was disciplining them. Or disobey a direct order. Or continuously do shit specifically to piss him off. They also all called him some variation of ‘Commander Hale’, never ‘Derek’. That just didn’t fit right with Stiles. He never liked calling Derek anything but his name, and if it had the added bonus of annoying the shit out of the overly stoic, stick perpetually up his ass commander Hale, then that’s just gravy.

Here’s the thing though. Stiles wouldn’t trust any one else in the world to lead this crew. He knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt that Derek would sacrifice everything to make sure his whole team made it home in one piece. He was a smart and competent leader… he was just also an asshole, and Stiles had never been one to suffer assholes.

Of course it didn’t hurt that he was as hot as molten lava as well.

Now that he was up the ladder, and free from the constraints of the ships artificial spin created gravity, he put a bit more power into his propulsion. No one, including scowling sourpuss commanders, could see him any more so he let a bit more urgency enter his movements.

“Shit, shit, shit, shit,” he chanted, throwing a hand out and grabbing onto a pole in order to swing weightlessly around the corner and into the main hull. It wouldn’t breach, there would be no detachment from the command center, or anything quite as dramatic as Derek would dream of, but it would weaken the rest of the hinges. Which could lead to a cascade of electrical failures, which meant they would be manually opening hatches for the rest of their two years aboard this ship. Deducting the time they spent on Mars of course.

Something told Stiles that his popularity might go down substantially if he let that happen, and Derek would stop being so lenient with his shenanigans.

When he found the door, he hooked his foot underneath the ledge nearby to steady his weightless body, and quickly retrieved the screwdriver from his pocket that he had ventured down to the rec room to retrieve in the first place.

“One of these days Stilinski,” he scolded himself under his breath while shaking his head at his own absentmindedness, “you are going to really fuck something up, then see who’s there to save you.” (Maybe foreshadowing for the end of the story?)

He pressed a few buttons, which revealed the inner mechanisms of the door, and the empty spot currently missing a coupler. In his defence, Stiles had been innocently floating through the door when he noticed the faintest of squeaks, drawing his attention squarely and suddenly food was no longer his goal but fixing this door was.

“I knew it wasn’t as small an issue as you made it out to be.” Stiles squeaked loudly and jolted, loosing his foot hold on the ledge and releasing the recovered coupler, awkwardly scrambling to reclaim it and ending upside down in his pursuit.

He turned his head to look at Derek and scowled. How that man managed to look so handsomely smug in zero gravity was one of life’s great mysteries, and an offence to Stiles more clumsy nature.

“I didn’t say it wasn’t a big deal,” Stiles argued back childishly, and with very little elegance pulled himself right way up to try and put the finishing touches on the door, “I just said it wasn’t going to end in us all being sucked out into the vacuum of space.” He explained, and at Derek’s quirked, disbelieving eyebrow added, “there’s a difference,” with a shrug.

Derek scoffed, “is it fixed?” He questioned, floating closer to look over Stiles shoulder.

Stiles felt his heart stutter at the intimacy, which was no doubt unintentional on Derek’s behalf. He couldn’t help it. Derek was the epitome of fire hot, and Stiles was only human.

“Not only is it not going to crap out on us,” Stiles boasted pushing back and closing the panel with a satisfying ‘beep’. “It also won’t be making super annoying squeaking noises anymore.” He demonstrated by waving a hand over the controls and the door opened smoothly and silently.

“I was unaware it was making noises in the first place.”

“Well that’s the difference between me and you,” Stiles grinned playfully, “some of us demand perfection, others settle for mediocrity.”

Derek quirked an eyebrow, pushing off the wall he was steadying himself against, to lean into Stiles space, “I wouldn’t go judging my willingness to settle if I were you Stilinski,” he snarked back, “got you a spot on this crew didn’t it?” And then he was gliding gracefully past him and through the newly perfected door. Completely oblivious to Stiles heated glare directed on his back... and maybe a little on his ass too.

In fact, Scott was too busy having a date with Kira to take care of the boy he bit, assaulted and kidnapped against his will. But sure: Scott walked Liam through being a werewolf! Also: don't you ship Sceo – a crack ship between two heterosexual character who never showed an ounce of romantic interest/attraction toward each other in canon? Lmfao talk about delusional

How many times are we going to go around this merry go round of bad faith arguments and questions that can be easily disproven by just watching the show?

I mean, it's getting tiresome, but if you insist.

So... Liam's first full moon happened in the episode "The Benefactor", right after "Muted", where he had been bitten. In just keeping with Liam's storyline this episode, we see him tied up in Scott's bathtub in a comical scene that I thought really drove home the point that Scott and Stiles are still just teenagers. Liam escapes in another funny scene (lots of comedy this episode?) and then is invited go a party by Kira to get him away from everyone so he wouldn't accidentally hurt someone. Once he's at Lydia's lake house and the full moon starts to rise, he's starts changing and when he goes to attack Scott, Kira does this.

That's right, she knocks him unconscious with a paddle! After which, they chain him up so that when he awakes, he'd be contained.

While he was out, Scott and Kira have a little dance.

At no point in time did Scott abandon Liam to go have a date with Kira. As a matter of fact, the moment Liam awoke and broke his chains, Scott left Kira to go after him, to help him. Liam's arc this episode ended with this touching scene...

Again, I need to state, this is not my opinion. This is not my interpretation. This is what happened on the screen. And short of placing the entire episode (or show) on here and forcing you to watch it á la Clockwork Orange, there's nothing I can do to help you realize that.

As for me liking Sceo, this is a fact. We already know this. I liked the chemistry these two had together on top of Theo's arc on 6B where he was trying to make up for what he did in the past, specifically to Scott. It was the foundation of what could have been a nice romance.

That being said, you will never find on my blog that I think Sceo is the height of romance. And you want to know why? Because it never actually happened on screen! That's the key difference between me and most Sterek shippers. I can acknowledge that the ship I like is based off of my own bias and imagination and not try to say that it was canon if you stand on your head with your finger up your ass squinting sideways at it.

I started watching Teen Wolf specifically for sterek, to write fics for the ship, read meta, just go ham on that side of the fandom for real, so yes, I came for the slash. Mostly because I wanted more of them in canon with more context and somehow found myself having more of them in fanfiction than in canon. Which left me confused on why Sterek is one of the biggest ships EVER. 

Don’t get me wrong I love the ship, and Derek and Stiles do have a bond of some sorts but we get so little of it, but whatever we do has such high importance that I don’t understand why Stiles and Derek got those lines when in the context of the show it feels like they barely interact. 

But I can’t even dismiss anything because the moments they do get are so surprisingly significant(you probably already know all that’s mentioned on the list if you’re a shipper so you can skip it tbh):

Peter’s speech about the power of human love and the camera directly going from Stiles to Derek

The ‘abomination’ thing- the camera lingered on Derek’s expression

The pool scene(ah yes, probably the point where we all converted)

Matt and the Kanima scene- “You two make a good pair”. 

Boyd’s death- the comfort of human touch.

Stiles for some reason easily recognizing Derek on first meeting(he was the first to recognize young Derek too. Actually, he knows surprisingly lots about Derek).

Stiles is Derek’s anchor. I don’t know why, but the scene in “The Divine Move” can mean little else.

Derek is the king on Stiles’s board for some reason. He thought if Derek was out, the entire game was over. That’s a LOT of trust and responsibility on someone he barely interacted with(that we’ve seen anyways). 

Stiles’s curiosity about Derek in general- this is probably because Sties is meant to be the ‘info dump’ guy but he actively seeks out info on him-the Paige incident.

On text, these events are way too significant. If you saw this written out in a novel format, it would look like Stiles and Derek had a very very significant relationship.

About Matt- I didn’t understand why he said they “make a great pair” because they honestly had not interacted enough to be viewed as one, and this is coming from me who was basically scavenging for scenes of them together. 

Derek’s anchor thing- The part that struck me most was that this scene took place when no one trusted Stiles, not even himself, because the Nogitsune was using him. Even the Sheriff was being cautious. The entire arc was about trust and Stiles. But Derek chose STILES to confide in about all his worries to. He put all of it in Stiles? Why? It could’ve been for fanservice and to feed the starving sterek fans but the moment is too significant. This isn’t an illusion, this isn’t Derek being forced to pick- for once this is Derek willingly choosing to place his trust in someone(something that is nigh impossible to gain) in Stiles. If they wanted  fanservice it could’ve been in a witty but overall pointless banter in some other scene, but this point is almost a turning point for Derek’s behaviour.

There has been long metas on all of the above and these scenes were intentional.

Which is when I realized that Stiles and Derek’s relationship is unlike every other relationship on the show. It happens in the background the most. This is probably the slowest of slow burn enemies-to-lovers relationship. Their relationship is implications, references, symbolic.

They weren’t meant to be romantic probably(Derek’s like, 24 or smthg and Stiles is 16-18, this show absolutely sucks at keeping a timeline). I think they were meant to just be, begrudging friends who often have same goals, an unlikely but effective team of sorts, united mostly because of Scott at first and then grow to become some sort of crime-solving, supernatural-butt-kicking duo. But it somehow got out of hand. 

Stiles is one person that Derek gets almost nothing out of saving, has no obligation towards. His relationship with Scott started because he’s his beta. Chris and Derek have a relationship mostly built on guilt and somehow making it up to each other. Isaac, Boyd and Erica were also his betas he needed to take care of. Peter’s the only family he has left and also happens to be a well of information(sometimes). Breaden’s mission is to get him his money back. 

But the one person who he gets nothing from, who he has no tie to, who he really doesn’t need to give a crap about but actually cares way too much for, enough to make them his anchor? Stiles. Whatever relationship he has with Stiles, he chose to have it.

Now Stiles- he’s more obvious about stuff especially in season 3. Taking down Derek means losing the game against the nogitsune. Losing Derek is unlike the other loses, he’s essentially put Derek’s survival through this game as equivalent to his own. The nogitsune(or Stiles somehow manipulating the nogistune) led the Sheriff, Chris, Allison, and Derek to Derek’s loft. Why there? What’s so significant to Stiles about this place. Go is about overtaking territory- the places the nogitsune had captured were the Sheriff’s station, the school, the hospital- and for some reason, the loft. Wouldn’t his home be better? Or somewhere else where he spends his time? It’s clear that Derek is important to Stiles(More symbolically, we get confirmation of sorts for Stiles being bi in Derek’s loft...hmmm......this is so sus). 

Here’s the thing though; I doubt either of them are aware of how much they care about the other, Derek’s whole “I don’t deserve happiness” shtick+ trauma from how horrible all his other relationships went and Stiles’s possibly crippling PTS+ train-wreck of a relationship with Malia(the girl can barely empathize and she’s just adjusting to human society why the fuck are you putting something as huge as a committed HUMAN VERSION of romance on her??? Why is this relationship even a thing it has all the makings for a messy break-up). 

They’d probably come to their realization years later, outside of the canon timeline and it’d probably be unlike any former relationship they’d have. Stiles has seen the worst of Derek(that’s the starting point of TW, Derek was a villain), and Derek probably knows a lot of Stiles’s flaws because he isn’t putting up a pretense. 

The Teen Wolf canon feels more like building blocks and puzzle pieces for their relationship than the whole picture tbh, which is fun, because we get to envision whatever we want.

So, I debated on how to answer this since I'm writing Young Sterek rather than regular Sterek, but since I want to leave some surprises in my story I'll answer for regular Sterek.

who wakes up first in the morning

Derek routinely has to drag Stiles out of bed. Though, if he knows he didn't get much sleep the night before he'll let him sleep in if there's nothing going on.

who’s the first to fall asleep at night

Derek, definitely. He's got a routine. Stiles, on the other hand, has issues settling down to sleep, especially if there's a new mystery he's trying to unravel.

what they playfully tease each other over

Stiles teases Derek about his aversion to and disinterest in technology, often overstating what a piece of tech can do and inadvertently feeding into it at the same time. Derek likes to do the same, but with werewolf abilities and senses often making Stiles paranoid about what the pack or other weres will notice.

what they do when the other’s having a bad day

Derek is passively affectionate, staying close and letting Stiles lean against or stay close to him in effort to ground him without making him think about what's bothering him. Stiles tries to be as distracting as possible, carefully staying just this side of annoying to get Derek's mind off of whatever it is.

1/3 Regarding Tyler Posey throwing a jealous fit, attacking Derek Hale, Stiles Stilinski and Sterek fans, and whining that people who don’t watch Teen Wolf for him or for his character Scott McCall are “weird twisted bizzarre” and are watching the show for the “wrong reasons”. A specific group of Scott fans claim that Posey lashed out because the interviewer asked him about Sterek instead of Sciles (the Teen Wolf ship TP has always been unhealthily obsessed with) and that

2/3 “it was perfectly within Tyler’s rights to object against a crack ship that had absolutely nothing to do with him that the fandom constantly hounded him and his costars about”. Scott Stans also claim that Dylan O’Brien and Tyler Hoechlin said something against Sterek and its shippers and condone Posey’s behavior, but that fandom at large likes to pretend it never happened for some nefarious purpose – which I know for a fact it’s utter bullshit,

3/3 since Dylan and Hoechlin explicitly stated that they NEVER had any problem with Sterek and have openly showed their love and support to the ship and its fans more than once (much to Posey and his defense squad’s chagrin.) Not to mention that Hoechlin even called Posey out on his pathetic temper tantrum and “weird twisted wrong bizzarre” comments in front of an audience during a Teen Wolf convention. My question is: it’s true that Posey was asked about Sterek in that infamous interview?

Okay, so this is relatively easy to google (at least, I somehow managed to get exactly what I wanted first try) but i think most people don’t really bother bc honestly, it’s kinda cringe to watch some of their interviews with people about the show.

Anyway, This is the video of that infamous interview. It wasn’t just an interview with Posey. It was with Holland, Hoechlin, AND Posey, about S3B I think? The first fucking question of the interview was about Scott’s relationship status and whether he’d be ending up with Allison or Kira, and he was plenty happy to talk about how exciting it was to see things leaning toward Kira more.

Then Hoechlin got asked about whether he’d be getting another lady, and Hoechlin outright says “I think there should be a 12 episode cooling off period between love interests when they’ve killed like 20 people” and that he thinks Derek has other things to worry about.

THen we get to “The Question” “If the ladies don’t work out for derek, I know the fans are rooting for a little Sterek action.” And Hoechlin laughs, and Holland looks like she’s holding back a laugh too.

Now I think it’s worth noting, this interviewer was pretty fucking nice. He explicitly said “i know fandom is fandom.” as in, he wasn’t asking if it’d be in the show. He just wanted to know what they thought about it.

And even though you’d think HOECHLIN would get to answer a question about HIS character first, Posey immediately jumps in. It wasn’t specifically directed at HIM it was for all of them, and more specifically HOECHLIN, but Posey interrupted All of them to say, “I think Sterek is a bizarre, weird, twisted thing, and I think that anyone who pays more attention to sterek than the show isn’t watching the show for the right reasons.”

It’s literally the quote that everyone uses. And he says this in such a fucking iron hard voice, that it completely shuts down the rest of the room. The interviewer is trying to laugh about it, but everything Immediately gets awkward.

And like, what the fuck was Hoechlin supposed to do? Get in a fight with his co-star right there? He looks so uncomfortable because then the interviewer turns to him and like, how do you respond to that respectfully? He ended up talking about Derek and Stiles being partners in crime, about how that dynamic would be screwed up this season because Stiles is the one who needs the help, and how Derek would be much more concerned about him than he might have in previous seasons.

It was such a bullshit, horrible thing for Posey to say. The entire interview was about romantic relationships between characters and Posey was Perfectly Happy to discuss the ‘will they won’t they’ of the Scott and Allison, Scott and Kira situation. Sterek wasn’t being shoved down their throat, it was just another in a list of questions.

And just to make it clear THIS VIDEO includes a DIRECT RESPONSE from Hoechlin to Posey’s statement and how much he disagrees. And he is very explicit about how much he adores their relationship and he’s never had an issue with Sterek and NEITHER has Dylan.
