Tell me some FANON facts that you don't like
I think I've already mentioned most of them, but I'll quote them again with summary explanations:
The "Happy Robin" and "Angry Robin" thing.
Especially Jason as the "Happy Robin", not because I have anything against Jason being happy as Robin, but because the fandom generally infantilizes him excessively, makes him behave like a 5-year-old instead of a 13-year-old. Plus, I do like the post-crisis Jason, more rebellious and with more personality.
Tim being an insomniac coffee addict.
Tim is the brother who falls asleep anywhere, at any time. If you're not careful, the guy has already slept for 14 hours between micro-naps and is going for more hours.
Tim being an extremely thin, delicate and shy boy.
He's so cool in canon, I just can't stan his fanon version.
Dick being the laughing stock of the batfamily.
Like, he's literally probably the most respected member (not after, ALONG with Batman), and probably one of the few whose threats would be taken seriously by everyone, but the fandom only has him as comic relief for being the most optimistic and cheerful of the family.
The thing about Alfred only letting Jason in the kitchen because he's the only one who knows how to cook.
He taught Dick to cook in his own kitchen- Dick has cooked for his family before, and he's lived alone for almost 10 years - how could he not know how to cook? If he is banned from the kitchen, it is because he climbed onto the fridge as if he were a cat, or because he is delirious with fever and refuses to rest.
Dick living in the mansion again.
You want my man to have a nervous breakdown???
That they lower the abilities of some family members in order to exalt others.
Just because Cass is better at fighting doesn't make the others useless? Plus I think it's canon that some can beat her, not all the time, but like, in sparring matches they can actually beat her sometimes too? Just because Tim is the "detective" doesn't mean everyone else is bad at it? Just because Jason is the best with guns doesn't mean the others don't have good aim?
Duke being the normal one in the family.
NO ONE is normal in that family. Not even Alfred.
When they make Dick a mediocre student.
My boy was a top student, kinda a nerd but also a athlete, don't discredit him like that.
Jason being Tim's Robin.
Tim was first a fan of Dick Grayson and then a person dude, there's no way.
Jason calling Tim's replacement 24/7.
While the relationship between Jason and Tim is not as close as the fandom presents (they usually use facts from Tim and Dick's relationship to make him act like that with Jason), Jason doesn't live in a spiral of hatred towards Tim either, maybe at first, but then things calm down quite a bit between them.
The sexualization of Dick's character.
I don't mean like in canon, I mean how people directly turn him into a whore who would have sex with anyone who offers to him. Like, no???? What's wrong with u???
I actually hate that with any character, but it happens more with him.
Bruce being too perfect that none of his kids can even surprise him.
Canonically Dick scared him more than once, and I'm sure his other kids also managed to surprise him at least. Let the guy be a human, he's not an omnipresent god.
Completely ignore Clark and Dick's uncle-nephew relationship.
I don't think I need to explain this.
That's what I can think of now, there's probably more to it, but aha-
I don't completely hate these facts, and I don't mind people using them exactly, but I don't like it when they pass them off as canon- If you like it more than canon, it's completely valid, they are fictional characters and it doesn't hurt anyone, but don't expect me to agree with you if you tell me that's the true personality of the characters, u know?
#ask blog#batfamily#canon vs fanon#I seriously don't care if people prefer fanon#I'm just not one of those people#the canon characters are so complete and cool that I can't help but love them like that

Why I like Charlastor
The other day I noticed there was some negativity in the Charlastor tag, including antis and people feeling the need to defend against antis, so I thought I might as well take a step back and just write candidly about why I like the ship.
I only got into Hazbin in October of last year, but already it has inspired me a lot to write and fantazise about it. Like most people, I started with the classic "they look cute together", but as I kept looking I couldn't help but think there was something else to these two than first met the eye.
For starters, I love Pollyanas! I think they get a bad rep for being naive, but I just appreciate an optimist like Charlie who just wants to make people around her happy because it makes her happy. I also like bad boys 😳 I'm a pretty heteronormative guy, so I haven't had a big chance to explore that part of myself yet, but I do like the danger and excitement someone like Alastor brings to the table.
I will admit when I started writing Charlastor I felt like I was handling dynomite. It's a lil scary to ship a boundless altruist with a manipulative sociopath, but bear with me.
I think each of them has something the other needs. I think Charlie needs someone to challenge her, someone to steer her in the right direction while she's mostly isolated. At the start of the series, practically nobody but Vaggie takes her seriously, and Alastor is no exception. He mocks her, teases her, but she still listens and I think it's because somewhere deep down she understands there's something he's trting to communicate in his annoying, but curious way.
Of course, I also love the fanon Charlie who's down bad for Alastor, and even if that Charlie is a little naive, I think it's also sweet and she can use some indulgence while most people treat her like a child.
On the other hand, when it comes to Alastor, this is a bit of a theory on my part, but I think he's secretely lonely. He has friends, certainly, like Rosie and Mimzy, but they're not good enough friends to live together with him. They don't seem to be able to save him from "pure, absolute boredom". But Charlie, for some reason can, even though she's a stranger at the beginning when Alastor chooses to move into the Hotel.
Alastor is not as much of a cynic as someone who chooses to see things in a perspective that benefits him. He doesn't think redeeming sinner is "hopeless", but "hilarious" instead, which has interesting implications to me. That's why he chooses to hover around Charlie, not because he thinks she's lame, rather because he thinks she's silly. She makes him laugh. Which I think is kind of how Alastor sees "love".
And then you have fanon Alastor who, depending on the writer, is either a horny animal, a wisecrack edgelord or a soft boy who's mean to everyone but Charlie XD I like several of those interpretations, but I kinda prefer mine just out of personal taste. I think the best part about Alastor is that he doesn't *care* what anyone thinks of him and always does what he wants, even at the expense of other people, which I find pretty enviable.
They're kinda both outcasts in their own ways. Charlie by being unable to fit in and Alastor being unwilling to compromise. But they don't judge each other. He supports her in his own weird way and she houses him and is delighted of him in general, which is tasty food for his ego. I do wonder why Alastor is interested in Charlie, both in canon and in a fandom vacuum.
There's some cool potential for drama there, but also growth and healing, in my opinion. Personally, I think Alastor doesn't want to actually *hurt* Charlie, but he may hurt those around her, which will be a moment to start settling compromises if Charlie puts her foot down.
That haz bin my review so far! I'm honestly pretty grateful for Vivziepop for all of the work she's done so far, I know directing, animating and writing two shows over the course of 5 year or so ain't easy. I'm also grateful to the fandom who shares their thoughts and vision, which calms the terrible voices I started hearing in my head since I bought this weird old radio.
I'm in the middle of a break, but if you're interested in my fanfics I'll get back to writing very soon. Cheers! 🌈❤🦌

Gwyn haters like you are disgusting
Hello!
Honestly, I don’t understand why you would send this as an anon message. I would respect you more if you just wrote it directly under one of my posts. But since you accused me of being a Gwyn hater, I have the right to say that I’m not. Gwyn’s character was written to be likable and relatable. And while I’m neither of those things, I can totally say that I dislike this type of female character since I prefer to read about more complex ones that I can relate to, ones that intrigue me.
Personally, I regard ACOSF as wasted potential. The writing wasn’t great at all, and many characters could have been introduced in a better way, including Gwyn. The reasons I dislike her as a character have nothing to do with the ship war. I only joined the fandom months ago and had no idea that people took things this seriously. There are many other characters I dislike such as Helion and Mor, for different reasons completely...
Disliking something / someone doesn't mean I hate it / them
And honestly, I don't care that much about her to have the energy to hate on her. It's the way you gwynriels just want to shove her under everyone's noses and transforming her into the fanon version you created of her. Then complain when people don't match your enegry, but how can I like something isn't real?
I have my favorites too, just like you have yours But unlike you, I'm not a hypocrite. As you talk shit about Elain Archeron, then insert a Pro Elain tag under the post.
P.S: It's very obvious that my ask is dedicated solely to Elriel, and you didn't even respect that too blinded by your hate. I understand.

on the mischaracterization of norway, a mini character analysis (because i feel like people are tired of me going 'oh, i like canon norway so much more than fanon!' without explaining myself)

before anyone starts barking at me, you can prefer fanon interpretations! that's 100% fine! the point of this post is to discuss what canon nor is actually like, because i feel like most people don't even know that there's a difference between canon and fanon
a) on seriousness
i feel like there's a big dissonance between the serious, solemn norway portrayed in fanon, and how he acts in canon! don't get me wrong, he can be serious, but he's also a silly guy! he has a sense of humour and he likes to tease and be kinda mischievous!
some examples from the manga that i feel show this! (there's a lot!! this is a recurring character trait!!)

b) on being cool (he's not) (not even a little bit)
point being that he's a loser and a weirdo and strange and awkward and shy and, unlike how i usually see him in the fandom, not suave at all :,) examples (image order is right to left):

c) on his relationship with other characters
this is gonna be a quick point because tbh it deserves its own post haha but 1) dennor like each other!!!! it baffles me that people act like they don't! norway teases him a lot but he clearly cares!
also a good place to add an explanation as to how nor uses the words "bro" and "brother"! hima has said that his use of the japanese "anko" is meant to resemble a regional japanese accent where the word is used how "bro" would be used to refer to a classmate or friend! it's not meant to be nor thinking of denmark as an actual brother
2) he and ice are silly together :) he calls him just to ask a single question and hangs up on him. he threw him a surprise birthday party right in the middle between their 2 birthdays! he's not just an overbearing older brother, he's genuinely warm toward him!!

#long post#SORRY I CANT PUT IT UNDER A KEEP READING it breaks the image stacking :(#also sorry for ranting again thanks for bearing with me hahaha#ive been meaning to talk abt this for so long because hes my favourite character#btw the colouring of the manga art at the top was done by my best friend shoutout to her <3#hws norway#maia talks

You know, when i originally sent my ask about whitestuck/transtuck then proceeded to the bit about the Striders being sexual harassers for the whole reason of spite and pulling a bait n switch. Why? Because i knew people who would get mad at that first part would jump at the opportunity to tell me im wrong but would shy away from answering that last part because people love to conveniently ignore or lie about parts of the story. It goes into my first point that a lot of people didn't actually read the comic. People get Daves character wrong a lot, he isn't really smooth or unbothered. He often breaks his persona and isn't a stoic as people think, he gets into long spergy tangents and can be bully at times but he deeply cares for his friends and yes he actually was hurt when bro died. But it feels like people prefer fanon interpretation which i find to get old fast reducing him only to a smart ass. If people do explore his emotional side they make him a super pathetic sad boy. My biggest issue with fandoms now in days are the characters get misinterpreted horribly and even on purpose making discussion around them difficult because people are so attached to their headcanons that they'll ignore any real detail about the characters. Like im sorry if you seriously think Dave would celebrate being Jewish, you must have missed the entire page where he shits on religion as a whole. Like can people realize their headcanons are what THEY BELIEVE THEMSELVES and NOT something that actually happened? Im not saying you can't draw or interpret the characters differently but can you accept that it doesn't match with the source material and its ok if it doesn't and you don't have to be on the defense about it? Like keep fanon and canon separate is all im asking. What does headcanon even mean anymore? I thought it was just a small plausible detail you could make or create about the character be some of them change the characters completely like an AU. Was there ever a proper definition? Whatever, Dave isn't even my favorite character anyway yet i remember he has hobbies outside of music. I love homestuck!
Had always assumed headcanon would be something that could be added to canon based on small evidence that the story never dwells upon, similarities to character trait, or could draw parallel to another character if they have a close connection. For example, Eridan playing the viola headcanon. That headcanon of mine mirrors to how Rose plays the violin. The notes for the viola on the open strings is C to A, which matches his handle, caligulasAquarium.

It can also be a jab at him being disliked by others since most would go for violin than viola when recruiting for musicians. Viola is really unpopular among music players. The sound of viola is also darker, which matches how Eridan would present himself and how he would feel by Murderstuck. I don't mind headcanons without base or evidence. But sometimes, I think a headcanon can really work best if there is enough established connection to what is said in the story and could expand upon if the original series never explores deeper to play with certain themes. Another is projection because either they want to be like this character that they couldn't be in real life if they try to improve themselves, or for the most part, want to meet a type of person like them in real life and date them. I am guilty of this as well. I'm fine if others don't think Eridan is great when he is mostly being slandered in the narrative. It's fine and can accept it. It's all in good fun and laughs. Most either want to be cool like Dave or they project themselves onto Karkat because they want to meet someone like Dave. The old fandom had used to project themselves onto Jade or Nepeta, but they don't anymore. For Jade, it's because they are jaded, ha ha, and became more cynical that they aren't the genki girl like they thought they were. For Nepeta, though she would represent the fandom and fangirls, people think she is creepy for shipping her real life friends despite trolls gossiping about quadrants is more normal in Alternia compared to humans and Earth. The fandom had made lots of different AUs back then. But now, it's become scarce that nobody would try to make interesting AUs. Sure there is the occasional bloodswap or alternate timelines, but it never seemed to gain much attention like Heinoustuck had. Undertale had more AUs when Homestuck has more backing for it with Dream Bubbles and Doomed Timelines. And this is all before Deltarune was a thing.

🔥 - linguistics & fandom (if you've time/enthusiasm)?
Attempts to do fanon worldbuilding around linguistics for eg sci fi/fantasy settings often falls prey to what I call the '1984 problem' (when I call it this I am doing so very facetiously, don't take it too seriously lol, 1984 is wrong about its linguistics at times but it also gets flanderized in the pop cultural perception into something it isn't). This is where a lot of people without more than a passing knowledge of linguistics have a very outdated, unnuanced view of linguistic relativity that veers into simple determinism; so for example, the old 'if people do not have a word for something they are or become literally incapable of understanding it in any context' idea. This gets especially thorny when people move into territory like, say, 'if an fictional culture has a lot of words for aggressive things and none for peaceful things, this will make the people who speak it 'naturally' more aggressive' which. Hm. Let me put it this way: lotta real life xenophobia baggage regarding ethnocentrism in linguistic analysis to be unpacked there. Loooot of it. To put it lightly.
But more broadly, the temptation to make linguistic determinism a part of SFF worldbuilding, where language vaguely 'defines' thought in a very rigid way, is very very strong and it's easy to see why! It's a very easy cultural worldbuilding shortcut that gives you a straightforward way to communicate to your audience, with very little work, both how and why your aliens are so very alien. Not only does giving them some exaggerated quirk in their linguistic systems serve as an extremely easy way to exposit some Underlying Truth TM of their cultures (many works of fiction famously involve a lot of people talking to each other a lot of the time; it will come up), it also lets you explain why without going into complicated social dynamics underpinning your fictional society it might take pages and pages of historical exposition to convey (or, you know, a lot of work throughout to more carefully imply through constant allusion and careful integration into the story and characters' worldviews, which is famously really fucking hard to do).
But uh. it's also a) usually hilariously inaccurate to any and all mainstream knowledge of how languages work, so linguists Will roll their eyes at it, and also b) as above comes with a ton of very real historical-and-present baggage around the way language has been used as 'proof' of the 'inherent nature' of certain cultures, so like. I do not think you should do this, even with a knowing wink about how you are being a little silly. TBH. Anything implying that the language a culture speaks can make them Peaceful or Violent or Better or Worse, no matter how obviously fictional and weird, is saying something about how you think language as a thing works, whether you like it or not. Would prefer if fandoms' attempts to do little linguistic fanon thought exercises stayed far away from that, tbh.

Regarding what you said about how Molly having a love interest feels unnecessary just because it's not part of the plot, may I remind you that Lumity from The Owl House wasn't a part of the main plot revolving around the Day of Unity, yet you seem to like the ship. And besides, knowing this show, it's very likely we'll see Ollie again and he and Molly will probably work things out.
As for how having a canon ship destroys any headcanon possibilities for other ships, need I tell you that in my experience with the TOH fandom, I've found people who ship Lunter or other non-canon ships even though Lumity is canon. Just because one ship is gonna be canon doesn't necessarily mean that you can't make up headcanons for your fanon ships.
So, yeah, personally, I don't understand how people see Ollie as nothing more than a generic love interest.
It's totally fine if you don't like him, though.
Are you seriously comparing Owl House and Ghost Molly Mcgee just to justify Mollie? Do you have any idea how different these shows are or the difference in fandom size between them?
Okay first of all yes Lumity didn't have a direct effect on the Day of Unity but that's not the only big plot in the show and Luz and Amity's relationship helped Luz's character development which indirectly helped plots of the show. In Ghost Molly Mcgee all Mollie did was turn Molly into an unlikeable character. Everytime she interacted with Ollie she acted like a generic lovesick girl that has no character, not to mention how she acted like a jerk to Scratch because he was spilling the truth on her face about how she putting him in danger by being with a ghost hunter. It's inevitable that we'll see Ollie again but i doubt it'll be romance related anymore. What most likely could happen is Ollie's family finds out about Scratch and tries to catch him but Ollie stands up to his family and convinces them that not all ghosts are evil and there are no threatening ghosts in Brighton then they move out of Brighton to find other haunted places.
Yes i'm still behind my word on how canon ship destroys any headcanon possibilities for other ships but your comparison here is hilariously wrong. TOH fandom is gigantic compared to TGAMM fandom. TOH fandom has tons of active fans and artists in it so of course some of them wouldn't care about canon ship and continue to do their own headcanons. TGAMM fandom is way too small and barely has any artists who actively draw fan/ship arts for it and as far as i can see most of them were not happy with Mollie.
Since his first appearance all Ollie did was swing his hair to Molly and all Molly did around him was stare at him with heart eyes and blush, did you really surprised that people see Ollie as nothing more than a generic love interest?
That's all i can say about this Ollie/Mollie stuff. I prefer not to waste any more time on this subject so please no more Ollie/Mollie questions.

Answer every 4th question
4) what was the last straw that made you finally block that annoying person?
to be honest as of recently i have just been blocking the moment i see something annoying rather than wait it out.... alas can't really name an example. it does happen but i can't name any examples.
8) common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about
magneto in canon is a bad father and that's okay. he was not a good father to pietro or to wanda, and wasn't particularly spectacular to lorna either. he is a loving grandfather, that i do believe, but his relationship with pietro and wanda has always been strained because of the abuse and trauma they suffered as a result of his brotherhood and retconning him into a funny dad, while fun, isn't canon compliant and it becomes less funny the more widespread it becomes.
12) the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them
i mean, hank pym obviously. people love to exaggerate his character especially compared to other similar characters from the same era and same point in time of creation and it's annoying to me, because the only reason he is infamous is that he faces narrative consequences for his actions in a way a lot of other characters at the time didn't have to, and despite actually taking it seriously he's always remembered as the worst in the fanon collective mind rather than the complex and nuanced character he actually inarguably is in canon (aus nonwithstanding.
16) you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)
vague list, i don't understand modern bobby characterisation for the most part bc i much preferred awkward 80s accountant bobby to millenial kissing strangers for saving them bobby. i don't understand wolverine laura that much bc a lot of the time her characterisation is boiled down to "woman wolverine" when as x23 she was incredibly interesting with a distinct voice to logan, whereas now they're often indistinguishable. don't care for no power aus. don't care for anything irondad or anything "older superhero loves to adopt younger heroes" that isn't reed bc reed is the only superhero who actually took on a lot of kids. don't understand tonyjan at ALL. don't understand the small group of wanda/simon shippers bc that boy is gay and she doesn't love him and he mistreats her.
20) part of canon you found tedious or boring
2000s to early 2010s is boring to me and i don't majorly care for it. post 9/11 really marked a change in how comics were written imo and the narratives surrounding it and i really don't care for it at all, plus the height of the MCU. just not my thing at all.
24) topic that brings up the most rancid discourse
gd i dunno. cop avengers vs the completely radical, not at all owned by a corporation and written by the same people x-men i guess.

Do you prefer canon or fanon more when it comes to ships?
Canon is necessary sure, but I prefer fanon when the characters don't get that much attention in the actual media, some fan interpretations feel more engaging me thinks.
*looks at my version of Boscha who is at least like 90% an original character* I hope you've enjoyed my spins on her. XD More seriously... I think fanon matters to me only so much in that it can inspire me. Fanon cannot make me care about a character the show cares about or a character I dislike. How they are in canon is simply too rooted in my brain. This is where you get the fact that when I write Luz, my brain will sometimes stop me mid-writing with "You're showing her as too caring. Too understanding. Would she actually behave this way in the show?" because my opinion of her and if she's a good person has dropped so low. You have me going "Would Amity even care about this anymore because it's not connected to Luz?" And both of these thoughts can kill an idea for me because now I'm just kind of sad.
If fanon had more power over me, my own interpretations of the characters would matter more. Interpretations where genuinely the only time Luz would lie is if she saw it as helping ease the pain of others, not because she was afraid of her own consequences. Versions where Amity is constantly pressuring herself even more than her parents do because she herself cares about success and magic. Versions that I wrote for over 300k words. But versions that don't match with canon anymore. That are so far removed that if I'm going to write those versions, they feel like they have to be in an AU so I can put more distance between me and TOH. And at that point... Why am I writing it as fanfiction rather than original fiction? Besides, you know, getting people to actually read it? *sigh* This isn't to toot my own horn btw. My analysis of the show could be entirely off base and this is still how my brain would work. I came into this fandom because Lumity's dynamic entirely shifted what I wanted to write. And now I struggle to write at all because I hardly want to even see the two anymore, even as the creative side of me still wants to be writing my precious, Lumischa trio. Yaaaaa- Edit: Watch THIS, with no tags, somehow be what gets outside of my bubble just because for once I don't go into my reasonings for seeing Luz and Amity like that. ========
I have a public Discord for any and all who want to join!
I also have an Amazon page for all of my original works in various forms of character focused romances from cute, teenage romance to erotica series of my past. I have an Ao3 for my fanfiction projects as well if that catches your fancy instead, If you want to hang out with me, I stream from time to time and love to chat with chat.
And finally a Twitter you can follow too!

People legitimately angry that Tech or Din are apparently getting romantic subplots?
Even fanfic writers?
Gee, how dare the writers of this media we're consuming take a character they created and ship them with whoever they wanted? The audacity!!!
Seriously, and no offense, but getting mad because the character you simp for has a love interest is childish as f. No, scratch that. A twelve year old girl on Wattpad handles it better; she just continues writing what she wants to her heart's content because she knows better than some adults that canon and fanon are separate. It is not difficult.
"But it screws up my fanfic plans" no it doesn't lol fanfic writers evade canon and unkill characters and make alternate universes all the time, you should try it.
"But X character was just so much more interesting without a love interest" if you're the person to think people are worth less when they fall in love then screw you, deal with your issues and stop judging others. Like if you link being in love to weakness you're bitter and people don't really care to let you ruin things for them
"But X female character doesn't need a love interest" no woman needs a love interest, but it is also not unfeminist to be in love as a woman. Quit degrading women over their love interests.
"But I don't like the character X was paired with" I got good news for you, no one is telling you to. You literally do not have to like them. Also, you not liking someone doesn't mean you get to "break them up" because you'd prefer it that way lol the entitlement!! Would you try it irl?
"But the ship is problematic" some ships are but I think as adults we're so over having to walk around with the disclaimer in our foreheads of this ship is problematic i do not support it please don't cancel me i'm a good person blah blah blah I mean, you all know I'm particularly done with that shit. You're an adult with enough criteria to distinguish when something is problematic and when it's not and I expect you to also be able to recognize that when someone defends romance, they're not defending abuse.
It all comes down to the same argument prominent in fandom - no need to get your pitchforks out over fiction.

I just came across your blog and I love it so much! Your art is wonderful and I love how much you love riza (she’s one of my favorite fictional characters but I feel like there is so much interesting depth to her that doesn’t get explored much so I love your takes on her personality!) I was curious if you have any thoughts/headcanons/whatever on team Mustang dynamics, they are obviously really important to riza and I would honestly pay Arakawa all the money I had for some sort of precanon miniseries about team Mustang
yeahyeah! she is my favourite too :3c
I think about her interacting with other characters all the time... She's the type that is difficult to connect with and only really shows her personality to the people that are close to her. People always go on about how Mustang is portraying a persona, but she does that as well!! She can forever coast on her reputation of being Amestris #1 scary killer and portrays herself as this perfectionist that's in it for being the best soldier, and is so good at sticking to the rules that she will even correct her boss and keep him in line, to the point that she is seen as the real boss on the team by outsiders. But in reality, she is a mess held together by ducttape and not working on the gouverment's side at all lol.
Keeping the discipline is part of an adjutant job description, so it fits her perfectly for sure and she does take it very seriously. But I really don't like when she is portrayed by fanon as needlessly aggressive or even cruel to her teammates (I suppose that is the 'mean girlboss' trope people sometimes put on her). There is no need to start flashing/firing guns at her friends (!!!) for every minor annoyance or to keep them in line. She is not like that at all and takes use of her weapons very seriously. A disapproving look or a 'do x, that's an order' is more than enough. She is intimidating, but not aggresive or dominating. Maybe she should be meaner actually, because she always only blames herself for everything, sometimes fairly, but also for things that were not in her control like her father’s abuse or Mustang’s actions... She should be mad at others sometimes grr
What I like about her is that despite everything she did and been through, she is still the biggest softie. Its the duality of her ruthless actions and reputation, and her kind personality underneat :) (Hughes actually has that quality too but fanon never makes him mean to his friends to be ‘cooler’ or something. Guess cus he’s an extrovert and not a girlboss :/). Anyway, I think that's portrayed great with Fuery in the extra where they get Black Hayate! (yesyes I know she doesn't use her guns with care then, but i kinda excuuse the extras being a bit more goofy etc etc whatever gjgfghjh).
At the start of the series, Fuery seems to be new on the team and is kinda scared of Hawkeye. When he finds a stray dog and shows her, she tells him to 'find an owner by the end of the day' without elaborating further, so he mentally adds 'or I will kick him back out in the rain'. Only at the end do we find out she adopts the dog herself after giving everyone else a chance and putting herself last. Whenever she interacts with Fuery later they have a lot more relaxed atmosphere and he still looks after Hayate sometimes. I like the idea of the white dog that Hayate has puppies with being Fuery’s dog for that reason, it fits! I know shippers wanna be ‘omg royai raise dogs instead of kids’ (also cute), but I somewhat prefer the dog being Fuery’s (or just her own, depends on my mood). They can joke about Riza having to pay child support (dog food) to Fuery lol
Idunno, this got kinda long and dumb but with the team its something like this perhaps fhghgjdjg

NO MINORS PLEASE, THANK YOU! MY NSFW blog is heatedmetalheart.
Please practice reblog karma! If you reblog a game from me, send something in. It's rude otherwise and you'll end up blocked.
I often self ship with villains or morally grey characters. If this makes you uncomfortable, this may not be the blog for you! I also have very little care for canon. I am a part of a system and may talk about this from time to time. This is a system and plural safe blog!
I also have the shittiest memory in the wild west. So I apologize in advance if I leave a reblog in my drafts, start F/Oing a character and forget a mutual of mine already does and isn't comfortable with that (just block my silly ass), reblog or post something twice, use the wrongs words, and you get the picture. Please be polite over this, I genuinely don't find people poking fun at this amusing.
💘DNI💘
Homophobes, transphobes, racists, bigots of any kind, exclusionists, and those who ship adults with minors, or incest (or support people that do). If you hate self diagnosis, you are not welcome here!
This is a safe place for other systems, however, keep in mind you are not the only one who has to take care of their mental health. No, it is not our responsibility to put up with anything your system puts us through. We sympathize with having difficult headmates, and we don't blame others for what their headmates do. However, refusing or failing to deal with problematic members shows this is not the right space for us, and we will block you to protect our system members. Please understand this is for our own safety. A headmate being abusive towards one of my headmates will be taken as seriously as if the host was abusive to myself, period.
And look, I'm gonna be real with you, there's some parts of fandom culture I loathe and will avoid like the plague. This includes;
Drama/discourse/debates
Headcanon/fanon pushing
The idea of "fandom leaders" that know it all.
Huge media predictions/the creator said this! I want to see it, not hear about it. Especially with F/O deaths, which I am sensitive to.
I pretty much block anyone that makes me uncomfy and to keep track of blogs whose information I read, but didn't want to/couldn't follow. Aka, I do so liberally, so don't take it personally.
💘About Me💘
I'm 21, he/him, and this is an 18+ blog. You can call me Nightmares, if you'd like! In my free time I enjoy fanboying, writing, listening to music, reading, playing video games, and watching YouTube videos. My favorite media is movies and anime, but my favorite genre is probably either horror or romance.
My inbox is always open for general chatting, either about your interests or your F/Os or S/Is. Seriously, feel free to hit me up anytime, I'm shy, but I really do like discussing this stuff with you.
If Discord is preferable, just let me know. I'd prefer to have interacted with you a bit first, though.

Opinions on the fanon tropes of tacking on Demort(e)? Or the whole "Cherep" thing?
hi nonny, thank you for the ask!
honestly i don't really care one way or another. likewise about the general practice of giving the arco "real" names and full names that sound less like made-up ones lol. sometimes i love those names a lot and sometimes i really don't think they fit the arco, but either way it's never a decisive factor about whether i'll enjoy the fic and never make me stop reading a fic, and mostly i'm super neutral about it. i do enjoy that it's a thing and find it fun and i'm always curious to see what everyone comes up with, but mostly i'm like, "i guess that's a thing some fans do *shrugs*", and move on with my life lol.
but back to skull specifically, i actually think skull de mort has a super nice ring to it! but funnily enough, just as i've seen russian people say that cherep isn't actually a russian name, de mort is very much not an actual french surname either lol. not that i'm aware of anyway. which is maybe why i first thought it was just fans adding to his stage name, and not them making it to be his actual surname lol. and tbh it's just how i always read it whether it's the case or not whenever it comes up in fics? because i just really can see skull do that, add some foreign cool-sounding language to his stage name and not even getting it right because it's literally not even grammatically correct lmao (it should be "de la mort", tho "de mort" does sound cooler and smoother, so i wouldn't be surprised if it was on purpose).
also another funny thing about it to me is that i literally can't see skull being french to save my life zesdfgfsd. like, i honestly just can't?? for me viper as a french person is more believable, and even reborn before ever being skull lol.
as for cherep, which means skull in russian for those who don't know, it's totally understandable that russian people complain about it/mock it and can't take it seriously when it comes up in fics lol, but as someone who is not russian myself, i can just read it as any other name that has no other meaning to me other than "being that person's name", you know? so it doesn't bother me and i don't feel one way or another about it, tho i personally don't think it's a name that fits skull, but that's just my personal preferences lol.
i also do want to say that skull is an actual name and surname people have in real life! like, among the arco i think he's the one whose name really makes you instinctively go "well, that's gotta be a nickname or something" lol, but for having looked into the arco names for that one post i did, there are people in real life called skull. tho from what i found, it's not actually meant to literally mean skull or be tied to death in general (understandably so lol).

What amazes me till this day, are the people on the anti side, that claim till this day, that the forehead poke is a "sign of distance". Even when Sasuke always remembered the poke he got from Itachi in the manga as an affectionate gesture.
The funny thing is, I remember many fanon ships edited the poke to their preferred pairing......
Anon, those people mend everything until it fits their own truth.
I've seen similar edits of the SS eyesmex scene in chapter 685 by the same group of people who desperately tried to find reasons why that exact same scene is so problematic.
I'm just as amazed as you are and I wonder if they realize their own double standards. If they do, they obviously just don't care. Most of the time it's useless to argue with reason against them, so I struggle to even take them seriously.

It has been confirmed today that Benedict is straight in the show
There have been many ways I've wanted to answer this ask ranging from understanding, to cute, to outright losing followers dark humor. So I'm going to give you all of them because I can't just pick one.
1) A sad loss, but we can always headcannon him as Bisexual and nobody can take the fanon from us. $$ Invest in fanon now $$ once season 2 airs fanon will be prime realstate. I choose to keep Bi Benedict
2) Well, no matter his sexual orientation, he will always be a great character to me. And that's all that matters.
3) I wonder how many people that announcement pissed off? Just out of curiosity. Because you know, I use the block button liberally and don't browse trough Twitter. But still One has to prepare for the eventual reveal that Eloise is also very likely heterosexual herself and let's just say this author will be investing in a fireproof mailbox when that happens.
4) Benedict's story is already about a marginalized character facing social ostracizing for something she didn't choose. They probably kept Benedict straight to maintain the focus on Sophie's very real struggle with family trauma, poverty and class discrimination.
5) I'm not angry at this, but I have to agree that season 1 Benedict was blatant queerbaiting and it's wrong to do that to the audience. Readers There's a difference between Supernatural and Sherlock level of hush-hush-men-sleep-with-women-but-they-maybe-probaby-are-into-into-their-male friends kind of queerbaiting and then there's Bridgerton. Where an actual gay character talks to Benedict about the struggles of a gay man, to be gay, in his position and social standing. And Benedict then later has a threesome in what looks like a place where queer people are free to let lose and be themselves. Only for season 2 to go lol no he's not even actually bisexual or even gay. Badly done Netflix, seriously badly done
6) Who cares about Benedict, I want to talk about Sophie. She's the star of next season anyway. Being confirmed as straight is the least problematic thing about Benedict. Not worshipping Sophie like the jewel she is, is what makes is what makes him a disappoinment
There you have it anon 6 ways I could have answered this ask and one way I am chosing to actually answer:
7) I'm sorry that this news makes a lot of people sad, I know how important representation is for the LGBTQ community and it would have been amazing for Benedict to be canonically Bi. I'm also sad that queer people don't get more representation in original shows and get disappointed by characters created long before the LGBTQ community was recognized as a minority with rights of their own. Even if I do prefer characters like Benedict and Eloise to remain straight or at the very least Bisexual because that means I get to keep other characters like Sophie and Philip. Who's stories also make me happy. And who's love stories I want to see on screen. I can aknowledge and recognize that the LGBTQ community doesn't get treated fairly by big budget Hollywood productions and I hope this changes in the future. They deserve relatable big budget romance stories just as much as heterosexual people do.
And that's the tea anon
