not to sound actually unhinged but people who draw ship art with dkos saving astronaut!yjh when it was SP who did that Clearly Detected the spyjh vibes in that scene and are too afraid to admit it to themselves. im only half joking when i say this btw you have to admit i have a little bit of a point. if theres no romantic tension there why are we putting kdj in sp's spot huh. checkmate nonbelievers /lh
#not putting this in the tags for once i have self preservation instincts#selfcest#spyjh#you might say i have shipper goggles on and you'd be right but I'd call it reading the subtext seeing the romance coding etc.#being in spn fandom taught me to find ship subtext in the way scenes are lit. this is nothing to me#also no hate to the fan artists obviously lol. i love that art too i just have to make everything abt my rarepair cause im ill. anyway#my posts

some people really will take a fictional series very seriously sometimes and it's a little frightening to me LOL
#some spn fans are very hardcore in a way that i don't love#to me it's just not that serious#they're just silly goofy little guys and i love them#like i certainly have issues with the show and characters#but at the end of the day it's fake <3#anyways i didn't have a negative experience or anything (just the hate i got that one time)#but it just kinda looks a little intense sometimes on some people's blogs lol#. >> spn !#. >> mari says shit !

The Supernatural fandom is infinitely better to be a part of now that no one in the fandom actually thinks Supernatural is good XD
whenever i see another tiktok girlie talking about how she wishes to have been a fangirl in 2010s i feel like a seasoned veteran overhearing a foolish youngin boasting about wanting to go to war for glory and adventure. you naive little idiot. you know nothing. you understand nothing. you weren't there in the trenches. i have seen things, terrible things. i cannot plug in my phone charger at night without being plagued by the visions of Him
#original#spn#Supernatural#it used to be that if you criticized the show people would be at your throat defending this thing they cared about so much.#but now those people are adult queers rather than repressed middle schoolers and also actual gay rep exists now#used to be everyone HATED the women on that show in these massive displays of internalized sexism#but now if you talk about how the show is a misogynistic mess - people in the fandom are just like haha yeh.#i didn't join the fandom until like 2020 which was some real accidental galaxy brain shit on my part lol.#but i was in the sherlock and DW fandoms so i can claim no actual superiority 😅#let's all take a moment to say THANK YOU TAIKA WAITITI and every other queer creator making actual queer content that heals my soul#thank you Our Flag Means Death for making Supernatural even more irrelevant than ever before 🥰#and thank you to the spn fandom for being hilarious and fun and for writing fan fiction that is 600000x better than the actual show#I mean Jesus Christ guys remember when all of our hopes hung on BBC Sherlock because there was literally nothing else for us??#if you're interested in watching Sherlock I recommend instead watching the 'why Sherlock is garbage' video on YouTube#it's delightful#seriously though fandom is a lot better now that people seem generally more aware of their own internalized prejudices and also#people seem a little more aware of when the creators of a show that they want to be gay fucking hate queers. at least in the spaces i am in#I can't say the same of people who are still fans of the MCU lol. some are aware of it but others like. i guess haven't noticed that#disney hates fags and they will never give the queer fans what they truly want.#it is fine to like what you like but i pity those holding out the same kind of hope for marvel that I held for Steven Moffat 12 years ago#because that kind of poorly placed hope is just gonna make you sad and you can find real rep now that i didn't have back then

Talking about mommy issues... I'm not a 100% fan of Jack as the destiel son BUT it's important to me that going there means acknowleding that "archetypically" speaking Dean is The Mother while Cas is The Father*. And this isn't just because, when Sam accuses Dean of acting like their father, he replies with a Freudian slip if I've ever heard one ("I'm not his mother"), it's also why Chuck's myth-retelling doesn't work (Abraham is totally Cas and he and Jack subverted that myth) 'cause first he doesn't understand Dean and second he's not an astute storyteller and doesn't realize his story was already subverting the myth he wanted to re-enact. Therefore he should've created a situation where Jack (The Son) was forced to kill Cas (The Father) if he wanted to provoke Dean, this was Jack's original sin according to Dean, come on Chuck, it's been 14 seasons, everybody already knew Dean was not gonna kill Jack. He's totally fine with caging and entrapping his putative sons but he draws a line at killing them (insert that meme from Community). (I mean, I know Chuck wants Dean to do his bidding but after 14 years he had to get a little more creative than that. Maybe he should've listened to his editor Metatron, just saying. "maybe less about detail and more about balance") ((hello Becky and Metatron parallel)).
It would have also meant that Jack's story would've gone back to its genesis + the long tail of dead parental figures (not only Kelly and Cas but Nick/Lucifer and Mary and whoever else I'm forgetting lol).
By the end of s14 there is a short-circuits of symbols so it all had to go tits up, hence the rising of the dead etc. etc.
*This doesn't mean they are the Good Mother and the Good Father as they're clearly not but these are the primordial energies that they both channel to Jack. Also, obvs patriarchy in SPN is very much alive and well as demonstrated by the fact that the Good Mother and the Good Father are only the Dead Mother and the Dead Father and unfortunately for Jack this is what he got when he was born. He's not even born and he already lives in an ideal world with ideal figures compared to whom he'll always fall short.
Also, Jack's got the power to wake up from the Empty his putative father because his Mother (Dean) is grieving his death and he wants to please him: Jack is a total mama's boy.
#chuck coercing dean into the role of The Father is part of the reason why his story has never worked#this doesn't mean that dean doesn't uphold patriarchal values cause he clearly does#nurturing and caring are nice traits but they can also be unhealthy#it's quite telling that in the show about absent fathers dean never leaves and when he does is to follow other father-figures#and that is number one issue with cas is him leaving#which could mean nothing#supernatural#spn#castiel#dean winchester#jack kline#chuck shurley#spn s14#super-m/Others

Oh, this moment on the Jensen and Rob panel at Jib14 made me so happy.
Jensen: If every time they hurt Dean, they hit his heart, they hit his chest?…Oh like a heart attack? Gosh I’ve never thought about that. That’s a really interesting like…pick up. Maybe. That’s a writer question, that’s a good question. That was never something that was conveyed to me, that was never something that was told to me, that we’re going to attack Dean’s heart the most and it’s because he’s got the biggest heart. But it’s a really good kind of perception or perspective on the story and I think it might have been one of those happy accidents that it happened that way, maybe subconsciously to the writers and probably subconsciously to me, if you want to get Dean, that’s where you get him. And it makes sense….thank you…now I’m going to think about that for the rest of the day! Thanks a lot! Rob: That was like poetry. Jensen: That was beautiful.
Although, I doubt it wasn't on purpose on the part of the writers--we've seen the symmetry on spn, we've seen how it rhymes. Although I'm sure there are a few things where they'd do it the first time, and then realize how that came across symbolically, and then keep leaning into it, because that's how creative process sometimes work. (Just saying, fandom leans way too hard into the assumption everything good on spn was accidental instead of understanding, no it wasn't, but accidents are part of the creative process, too). There's deliberate reasons Death went for Dean's heart in 15.18, for example.
Anyway I appreciate Jensen's comment here and the fan's analysis and Jensen's appreciation of their analysis and Jensen's idea that it was subconsciously in his own mind even if he didn't think about it that way himself before. Because Dean has a really big heart, and "if you want to get to Dean, that's where you get him." Bingo.
LOL poor Jensen caught Dean feelings. His faux grumpiness about it absolutely sent me. Yes, same Jensen. We do this to each other in fandom all the time. Now I've caught Dean feelings too, thanks a lot Jensen, now I'm going to think about this for the rest of the evening!!! And I'm going to spread the Dean feelings just by making this post!!! Jensen has to suffer Dean feelings, so do we!!!

what? oh, sorry! i can’t hear u infantilizing jack over the sound of me fucking him. what’s that? sorry, i didn’t quite get that over the glass shattering. oh shit, my bad i didn’t mean to make him cum so hard that he manipulated everyone in every reality to experience what he is. oops! and no, i don’t think legs are supposed to do that….
#i see y’all post insane shit all the time with no content label suggested but i hornypost ONCE and this is the result#smh#can’t have shit in this house#(like i WAS joking im combatting his infantilizing fans with sexualizing him. but i am joking)#(and yes ik someone probably requested the label or something. it was up for a bit before i got the notif lol)#(it kinda irritates me but at least nobody is telling me to kms like i saw someone do to another person on twitter)#(that made me scared to not infantilize jack but i think that says more about fanpol than me)#(so if anyone wants to send me hate please don’t)#supernatural#spn#jack kline

tumblr /jenmishperceiver/747567018487726080/i-think-if-anything-put-the-final-nail-in-the> I've seen this assumption before and imo it's spin: Jensen said repeatedly that he told the group he wanted to think about the script, went home TO HIS WIFE and said he was uncomfortable, who then suggested calling Kripke, ect // In all the retellings, I've never actually seen it said Jensen fought with the writers OR EVEN TOLD THEM and Jared he was uncomfortable until AFTER he'd changed his mind to agreed
Bitter Destiel shippers are those kinds of people who fall for IRS telephone scams.
You're correct, Jensen never said in any of his retellings that he fought with writers nor did he tell them or Jared he's having a hard time "digesting" until AFTER he talked to Kripke and was convinced by Kripke that "Carry On" was the right ending for fans. You know, the real fans who watch the show for what it really is: Sam's hero journey with his beloved brother, Dean.
That said, while you're correct that it's Jensen's job to sell the concept, he has also been pitching a Dean-led spinoff for years. Remember his "dream" (X) that he pitched during the SPN press junket? I didn’t side-eye his PCA campaigns or his pursuit for Dean-centric storylines, but I did raise my eyebrows at his ballsy move to publicly pitch his post-Sam projects in front of Jared and Misha. What does the jenmishperciever's Anon say about that? Hummm?
Actors are always pitching their project ideas, they're just a bit more subtle about it. I'm certain Jensen had hoped the "dream" would catch on with the fans and they would campaign for it. Except not even AAs were down with the idea. Casual fans even less so. Lucky for you I saved the screenshot from the article:
Reading through jenmishperciever's Anon's self-soothing fanfiction is like watching bread grow old right before your eyes; same delusions we've seen for the past 12 years. Blame Jared for playing Sam who was in the way of a fake fetish ship from becoming canon that Less than 1% of the SPN audience ships. Said Jared's drunken arrest (I refuse to call it a bar fight, it was a group hug gone wrong) could have threaten the ENTIRE filming of the SPN final season while ignoring Anthony Starr's drunken arrest, which by the Anon's logic, would have threaten the ENTIRE filming of The Boys.
Lol they still pretend to believe that Kripke gave the SPN rights to Jensen when Kripke is SUEING WB over profit participation over SPN.
The only thing Jensen cared about with his SPN spinoff was lens crafting, which was why The Winchesters was a Shein version of an AU fanfic. Remember when Jensen told TW cast “don’t fuck it up for me”? After 15-20 years, Jensen is used to lead actors/Jareds doing the heavy lifting in carrying the show and being leader of the cast and crew and he benefitted from the sweet spot as #2 on the call sheet i.e. the good guy who is friends with everyone.
If Jensen keeps trying to be in charge of SPN projects, SPN fans’ reaction is going to be the same as today Marvel fanboys’ reaction every time they hear Kevin Feige’s name: “What did you did do this time you Son of a Bitch!? What train did you derail this time?”
Since Supernatural ended 4 years ago, the bitter Destiel hellers and AAs are stuck in a time loop of step 1 through 4 of grief (denial, anger, bargaining, depression). S tep 5 is acceptance, which is long delayed due to Jared’s continue success i.e. Walker in it's 4th season and #1 scripted show for CW.

Seeing the latest trailer for Dead Boy Detectives I am starting to feel really hyped for this show. It just looks like such good fun and I wanna highlight some things about it which I feel I am quite perfectly placed as a blogger who is mostly followed by A. Sandman fans, B. Good Omens fans, and C. Supernatural fans.
So here is why ALL of these fandoms should be joining forces and watching Dead Boy Detectives:
It's based on works by Neil Gaiman (Sandman and Good Omens creator - as if you didn't already know lol) and Neil has been involved in its TV adaptation.
It's set in the Sandman universe and will likely have Sandman characters guest starring - Death of the Endless is a confirmed guest star now and features briefly in the latest trailer!
It's gonna be very queer. Look I know this isn't 100% confirmed but there is definitely a big tumblr ship to be made out of Edwin and Charles who have been appropriately aged up from the comics (no shipping of 12 year olds here thank goodness). Y'all are gonna go feral for this ship I just know it.
It's a supernatural mystery series that includes two boys investigating supernatural crimes - sound familiar SPN fans?
It's showrunner is our very own beloved ghost of Steve Yockey (no I'm never letting that joke die) and since Steve Yockey was hands down one of the best SPN writers since Ben Edlund you KNOW its gonna be good.
Ruthie Connell - Need I say more?
Alex Calvert - You'll get to see our beloved child of Destiel again in a new form lmao
Basically this is looking to be like someone asked the question "what would Supernatural have looked like if it came from the mind of Neil Gaiman, had a big budget, and was openly queer?" and THAT my friends, is a question I desperately want to know the answer to.
So watch Dead Boy Detectives! It premiers on Netflix on April 25th.
Then come back to tumblr afterwards and scream about it with me!
:D
#dead boy detectives#can you tell im excited?#because im super excited#neil gaiman#good omens#the sandman#supernatural

the moment that absolutely no one has been waiting for... here are the results of the dtblr survey that went out last week! Thank you to the 650 people who responded, easily eclipsing the 598 responses that were submitted in September :]
Open the read more to see the results!
Starting out, we have a newcomer to our top 8, welcome Awesamdude, who stole a spot from Quackity (20.7% -> 3.1%). Since the last survey, more people say they main all 3 Dream Team members and less people are maining their friends, most of them slipping under 10% of respondents saying they mained them save for the lovely Foolish Gamers.
Next, there was an increase in people who came for and still are here for the Dream Team—with a decrease in the proportion of respondents for nearly every other category. Dream team forever!
While most people (85%) have been around before 2022, we have a greater proportion of newer people around now! In the last survey, that number was even greater at 93%. So don't feel bad for being new, it's actually way more likely than you think, and a very warm welcome to the 5% of people who joined after the face reveal/meetup <3
Next is a question that I think is really interesting: has watching the Dream team influenced how people play Minecraft? More people now don't play as much, which tracks considering that they play Minecraft a lot less than they used to.
Now for a rather sore subject for a lot of people, since there's been quite a shift in who plays in MCC since the last time. In the last poll, 60.8% of people said they watched Dream. Now, those viewers have dispersed across creators or just stopped watching altogether, with both George and Sapnap gaining 10% from their numbers in the fall. However, 25% of people said that they don't watch anymore, a huge jump from the 4.5% in the fall. RIP MCC Dream, you're missed severely by the community <3
Next up, Trust Issues has managed to nearly catch up to some of Dream's released music, gaining 8 percentage points from the last survey. Dream if you're out there your fans want it really badly. Release it just for us?
Since the fall, we've seen the official end of the DSMP, so this is more of a legacy question, which is reflected pretty well in the statistics shifting towards people who either don't watch or are very casual about it, our lorehead population shrinking by 4 percentage points from the first survey.
These statistics haven't moved too much since the first one, the trends going pretty much as predicted with following decreasing from main -> alt -> priv (with the exception of Dream whose alt is often confused for his main) and with George and Sapnap having fewer people following them than Dream.
The statistics shift from this question is really interesting, especially given all the shit that's gone down on Twitter since the first survey. The percentage of dtblr who joined the fandom on there increased 7.7%, a gain that knocked down nearly every other platform's percentages. AO3 also makes its debut in the top 6, tying with Reddit exactly.
Much like the twitter following question, these statistics didn't shift too much, with the YouTube algorithm and word of mouth from other people/creators doing most of the heavy lifting of marketing for the Dream Team. Shoutout to the people who found out through either Heat Waves or MrBeast, you guys are on like 2 ends of a horrific spectrum y'all are strong as hell LOL
Now for some shared fandom trauma, these results also didn't change too much from the first survey. However, for this iteration I added Supernatural, as I probably should've done the first time considering this IS the SPN website after all. I managed to grab a few more people than last time out of the 'none of the above' category with its inclusion, so hi all my former and current SPN bloggers o/ <- has never seen the show before
A vast majority of us have watched gaming content in some form before, and fewer people this time have never watched gaming content before. From those who specified which games they'd watched, the titles ranged far and wide, so it's really cool to see all of us under the dtblr umbrella :)
Once again, this question showcases how lurkers truly carry the community on their backs—there's a small decrease in lurkers from last time and an increase in blogging answers, so it seems like some of our lurkers started posting which is awesome :D
Over half of us don't really watch any other MC servers, but there's still a ton of people who like watching them! From the last time I ran the survey, most of the servers—save for Empires and Karmaland—now have fewer dtblr watchers. The QSMP makes a strong debut on the board though, eclipsing half of the other options.
This was a really interesting question, though it seems like the vast majority of people either continued posting on the same blog or took a break and just jumped back into the fray! Also a late welcome to the ~15% of people who either weren't here or started posting after <3
The answers to this question showed some of the most interesting shifts from last fall's data. Fewer people seem to be listening regularly, and the proportion of people who responded no is nearly doubled from the fall's 21%.
These data points were also really interesting to see shift from the fall! Of note, fewer people like and tolerate Jackbox, and more people seem to have warmed up to FPS games—Fortnite, CS:GO, and Valorant all have fewer people in the "don't like & won't watch" category. Still, Valorant is easily the most hated game of the 6 while Geoguessr is still almost universally loved/tolerated.
As expected in the shipping category, DNF dominates any other ships, with Karlnap easily taking the second place. The proportion of Toosh enjoyers has doubled since the fall, up from 14.7%, while the number of non-shippers has halved. Additionally, the proportion of Karlnapity enjoyers has plummeted from 25.4% to less than 10%. Otherwise, most ships have stayed within 3-4 percentage points of their fall numbers!
Once again, Dream seems to have forced the hands of nearly half of us, turning non-RPF shippers into the RPF fandom we are today. Interestingly, the number of "yes" respondents has nearly doubled from the fall, while fewer people responded that they still don't ship RPF. As would make Dream happy probably, the pie chart is colored blue and green.
Now onto some of the demographic questions, we've continued to be very heavily biased towards North America and Europe, with nearly 85% of us coming from those two continents. Compared to the fall, we've gotten proportionally more South American and Oceanian rep. Hey to the Asians/Australians who are probably going to see this when it's first posted! o/
Once again, the majority of us seem to be around the same age as our streamers, with 80% of us falling between the ages of 18 and 30. Don't fret, though! From the fall, the proportion of respondents in both the <18 and >30 age brackets have increased. All in all, nothing too surprising.
The pride parade is still running from last fall, with approximately the same percentage of people identifying as LGBTQIA+ or unsure. Just in time for pride month in a day or so!
I'm not sure if I was just miscounting but I could not for the life of me get all of these little squares into a proper rectangle, so just bear with my weird organization here. Regardless, the majority of us rep the blue and green as our favorite colors, with multiple people specifying the hex code of George's minecraft shirt or a classic teal.
It's been about a month since this has been out, and we still unfortunately haven't gotten It Takes Two back. We're still in the phase 42% of people believe that we're going to stay in for a while, getting bounced back and forth between Dream and George hoping that they can get the other wrangled for it. #I_BELIEVE!
This was kind of a cruel question for most of us, but to the 11 people who answered that have met any of them, know that you're in a very select group of users. I'm jealous!
Now to answer the age-old question of the dtblr 1%, it constitutes those of you with around or over 5,000 followers, while a majority of people have less than 50 followers or just no blog at all. As with most other follower polls I've seen floating around, the responses were heavier towards the bottom, but as is the common advice/adage, follower count means very little here—just start chatting and posting!
For the final question, I thought it'd be interesting to see what dtblr's academic interests are, and also to reaffirm or break my belief that George is like a flame to the moths of CS/Engineering-focused people, which was at least initially supported by the data from the fall. We've got people from all across the diversity of academic fields, with the most people indicating that they're interested in the arts and humanities.
As for my hypothesis: among non-George mains, the proportion of CS/Engineering people is about 5.5%, whereas 18.3% of George mains indicated that they're interested in CS/Engineering. In fact, I took a closer look at all the people who noted their interest in CS/Engineering, and nearly 70% of them said that they mained George. Like I said, moths to a flame. or something. I'm right there with y'all 🫡
That's all! Thanks so much to everyone for responding and waiting for me to get through all of this data, it's always a big task but I love seeing the results. Until next time!
#lyss analyzes#dtblr general survey#idk what else to tag this LOL#sorry it took so long dskgjhdlsjfg#hope it was worth the wait!

Spn Opinions That’ll Have Me Burned at the Stake Pt. 2: Electric Boogaloo
I’m back and bitchier than ever. For reference, here’s part 1.
• Season 5 wasn’t that great.
• D*stiel isn’t real, it’s a sucky ship, and that confession scene was just the writers pandering to the rabid deancas fans cause they knew they were the only ones still watching the show lol. And they left it ambiguous enough that they could still say it was meant platonically if they needed to.
• I hate how they watered down both angels and demons post-season 5ish.
• I liked Ruby 1.0 better than Ruby 2.0.
• I hate Honey!Cas. They just did that cause they didn’t know where to take his story from there, needed him out of the way, and thought it would be funny. It was insulting.
• Jack should’ve been played by an actual child so everyone’s abuse of him would resonate with the audience for what it was (casual fans are brain dead and need to be spoon fed).
• Victor Henrikson deserved more time on the show.
• I said it in the last post, but Alex is way more interesting than Claire and should’ve been given the lead role in the wayward sisters storyline instead.
• Dean is canonically straight and for Christ sake if you guys wanted bi rep, there’s about a thousand other characters that are strongly coded or implied to be bisexual (including Sam!) but y’all didn’t focus on them because it wasn’t actually about representation, it was about making it more plausible for your dumb fetishised gay ship to actually happen (spoiler: it didn’t).
• Season 3 and Season 6 were some of the best ones, you guys just don’t have any taste.
• Claire is not Castiel’s daughter and saying she is erases Jimmy and insults her, and even Cas himself acknowledged that on the show.
• Castiel is canonically NOT gay and Misha constantly saying he is is annoying and airheaded. He’s been attracted to women IN THE SHOW and he’s not even really male, so calling him a Gay Man is reductive and just plain wrong. Also, it’s veeery sus that- given how bi/pan folks are even more underrepresented than gay people- that one of the rare times where the bi/pan label actually fits a character BETTER in CANON……. the allies and monosexuals adamantly reject it. Hm.
• “Curing” vampires or werewolves or demons shouldn’t have been a thing.
• The Winchesters cause most of the bad shit that happens and then they just force supernatural beings to fix it for them- tell me again how they’re Super Special Heroes.
• It shouldn’t be possible to make angels human by removing their grace, because (unlike demons, werewolves, etc) they were never human to start with. If you drained me of all my blood, I wouldn’t magically transform into another species, I’d fucking die.
• Making Billie go crazy was dumb.
• Rowena was one of the most interesting and charismatic characters on the whole show- they just didn’t know what to do with her character.
• The archangels, Lilith, and Azazel should’ve been the biggest threats on the show. No other knights of hell, no god and his sister, no Cain, nothing like that. Having every villain just get progressively more overpowered made the show unbelievable and repetitive and annoying.
• The kernel sanders king of hell guy was hot.
• Dean is misogynistic as HELL, homophobic, likes racist porn, is a narcissist, pervs on teen girls, & thinks all non-human people should be exterminated… and that is all CANON.
• Most of John Winchester’s abuse is fanon.
• Fans portraying Cas as a smol bby who colours in colouring books and has a bee plushie is so fucking annoying.
• Instead of having so many gigantic cosmic storylines with god and his sister and alternate dimensions and even the angel and demon tablets, they should’ve just scrapped those and made the stein family and the bmol and the alpha vampire storylines way bigger than they were. Less cosmic stuff, more earth-based stuff.
• They ruined Lucifer’s character post-season 5. Before that, he was more sympathetic and reasonable than Michael. After, he was a spoiled child hurting people for fun.
• Everything from season 7 on is garbage. All of it. There’s bits of goodness here and there but overall seasons 7-15 are trash.
• How the fuck are there actual people who are deangirls and hate Sam?? The space where your brain should be is empty, I swear to god.
• If there was gonna be any lgbt rep in the Wayward Sisters group, it should’ve been Jody and Donna instead of Claire and Kaia. Those two were boring as hell and had zero chemistry or build-up, but Jody/Donna had plenty of chemistry and was very believable.
• Meg has the best and most realistic redemption arc of anyone on the show.
• Chuck was not likeable or charismatic enough to carry off as big of a villain arc as they gave him. Also that whole thing was stupid and WAY too Out There.
• All the angels should’ve been aroace. All the demons should’ve been pan.
• I stanned Cole so hard up until he changed his mind about hating Dean. That was disappointing.
• Sam went through the same shitty childhood Dean did (plus Bonus Abuse on top of it) and he didn’t turn out Like That.
• I cannot think of a single person that was asking for a spin-off about the Winchester family, like that has to be the most boring thing.

I'm a huge fan of your blog! Just curious, why the sole emphasis on young Jensen? Not that I don't find him adorable, but we shouldn't overlook how seriously hot grown-up Jensen is!
the short answer: attractiveness has nothing to do with it! research projects get more interesting the narrower your focus is.
20th-century jackles is so fun because it is so difficult. despite what people say, nothing lasts forever on the internet. the same can be said for printed materials and video footage. finding stuff from 10 years ago in the spn fandom can be difficult. think about how hard it is for a soap event held in a small town back in 1997. for people who like research like i do, that shit is exciting.
another reason is cause i saw an opportunity in the fandom space. there are tons of accounts dedicated to jensen's recent career. they're very impressive and display levels of organization that blow my mind! and yeah, people have collected young jensen stuff for as long as he's been on tv, but they weren't easy to find. fans hoarded the bits and pieces they found and a lot of this stuff was trapped in almost unnavigable sites like fanpop and pinterest. i decided to end the gatekeeping of the young jennny materials. what a noble cause, lol.
once i started, i realized that there was a lot more to find. that was in june of 2021, and i'm still swamped with leads and projects i have't had time to get to. i'm uncovering new shit all the time. so yeah, i agree, grown-up jensen is hot. but it's not about that.

One year ago today…
I miss #TheWinchesters with all my heart and i rewatched it today while working on this lol. In a perfect world we would be gearing up to watch season 2 right now but this show didn’t get the full chance to run before it got the chop. Literally for no reason other than bad decisions made and then worse decisions preceding that which all culminated in Hollywood strikes.
This show was so much fun to me. From the anticipation week to week that I missed having, from the cast and crew live tweeting or going on Instagram live and watching with us, how in just 13 episodes they expanded the canon of the original show’s universe and especially gave us Dean fans something to hold onto (the fact he’s just not stagnant after 15.20 fr), this amazing cast and crew who felt like they were part of the #spnfamily for years and not new to this world at all, to the MUUUUUUUUSIC, to the fantastically written character and pulling off an ensemble cast without it getting bogged down or ignoring characters —
But I do miss this show, and I wish I could get more seasons with @rthompson1138 saying in interviews there was more story they had to tell. I want a spn continuation as well but this was its own thing and I loved that with the right kind of passion and choices and effort this show had its own voice while also keeping a firm hand on the tentpole that was SPN.
Idk if they’ll ever get a chance to continue with this in the near future, my hopeful side never says never but I also know things are wobbly in the entertainment industry right now.
I just know that in some alternate universe, in a perfect world we would be sitting down right now and getting ready to enjoy season 2.
Despite not getting not getting more episodes right now, I will treasure what we do have ✨💖
