I like your comic but i am sometimes really confused about angel/demon hirarchy as i have zero clue about christan lore. I found some conflicting sources too about archangels and seraphims being the same and sometimes not? Would you be so kind to explain more about angel/demon hirarchy in simple words or point me to where i can learn more about it?

Also are the colours assigned tonthe demon princes your own interpretation or rooted in christianity too?

With a lot of things in M&G, its a mix of biblical lore and my own interpretation (because there are so many differences in opinion and contradictions)

For Angels, there are 3 tiers, split off into 9 sub-tiers.

Tier One is the highest of order, these are angels that are treated as the embodiment of perfection and goodwill itself, those are the Seraphim, Thrones and Cherubs. You can imagine why Sera dating Lili turned her into a social pariah. They're extremely powerful, few are close to matching the strength of the Princes.

Tier Two is the middle order, the Dominions, Virtues and Powers. They're highly respected, but no where near experience the same level of admiration as the Tier One Angels. The Virtues are actually in an interesting place, where they're both incredibly involved and very detached from the rest of the angels in heaven.

Tier 3 is the lowest order, the Archangels, Principalities and the Angels. They're the most involved in human activities and are typically the easiest ones to corrupt due to this.

These rankings are less about how you're born, and more about where you're placed. for example, my Michael is a seraphim, but he's ranked in the third tier, as he became an Archangel to scour the earth and protect the world from high powered demons. It's entirely possible to move up or down a rank, though typically this is for warrior rankings (ie Powers, Archangels, and Principalities). A Seraphim could become an Archangel, but an Archangel could never become a Seraphim.

For Demons, the Hierarchy is a lot simpler and to the point. from highest to lowest it goes:

Hellhounds

Regular Demons

Sinners (humans who were cased down to hell)

Their social hierarchy is more of what you expect, higher ranked demons are given more passes and privileges, lower ranked demons experience segregation, and the lowest of the low (ie sinners) are practically treated as demon chew toys.

EXORCIST/FALLENWINGS LORE I PULLED OUT OF MY ASS

this is all my personal headcanons and just shit i made up, but viv if you wanna hire me i’m not complaining

first: i see the debate constantly on whether or not exorcists are heavenborn or human souls, and personally i think them being heavenborn is just objectively cooler. it puts a good contrast between the exorcists and the sinners, y’know, since if they were never on earth they never would have met any sinners to gain sympathy for and would be easier to brainwash. that being said, no i don’t think they were ever technically “born” as babies, but i don’t think they spawned as full grown adults either.

because all of the angels’ designs are based on birds, i like the idea of them hatching from eggs. it’s just so silly to me to imagine, i love it sm. so in my head they all hatched from a nest of eggs adam had sera poof into existence once they settled on the agreement that he was permitted to raise an army for the betterment of heaven (he was their mama bird <3) as probably around 3-4 biologically? going off of human years. because while kids would be easier for adam to train, thirty something screaming babies wouldn’t be of much use to him.

all of their names are stupid as fuck, vaggie just got the shortest end of the stick. lute’s full name is literally just lieutenant. half of them are just body parts (wings, legs… vaggie), some get random words that just barely suit them (tall one is tree, short one is pipsqueak), and some of his favorites get instruments (guitar, drumstick, trumpet, and lieutenant gets shortened to lute when she’s not annoying him)

adam chose his favorites before they even hatched btw. he picked all of the coolest eggs and put them into a little pile. (vaggie’s was slightly cracked and a weird shade of pink-ish purple compared to all of the other black and white eggs so he decided she would be vagina right then and there)

also just because of how bratty lute is in canon, she doesn’t give “spent years working to earn her position” to me (don’t get me wrong i love her that’s my bbg) and because her name is literally just lieutenant, i like to think that her egg was the one adam felt the most protective of which is why she was deemed lieutenant before she had even hatched. i also just don’t think he’d want to go through the headache of raising all of the girls equally for them to fight over the position of being his right hand when he could just have one pre-guaranteed and train her separately.

unfortunately, this backfired tremendously! because once the girls started growing up it was pretty clear that lute was the weakest and smallest of them all. yeah, i said it. she was a wimp. it took her like three years just to learn how to fly.

relating to the art above ^ this is how i think lute and vaggie became close!! because while she was pretty strong (honestly probably one of the highest ranking) she also didn’t have many friends. i love the fact that once she’s in hell she starts dressing more feminine and grows her hair out to break away from who she used to be, but while vaggie was younger, especially as a tween-teen she was super super tomboyish. she was seen as kind of aggressive, the troublemaker of the group. but one thing she never did was pick on lute for being weak. i see here protecting her a lot when they were kids.

because it really wasn’t fair to the other girls that adam favored lute so much from day one that her position was guaranteed, and that while they continued to grow and train they still had to take orders from someone so much weaker than them. there was a lot of animosity in their earlier years, especially before the exterminations really started (they were like 14 when the first one happened) and lute got pushed around a lot.

because adam and vaggie were the only two that were nice to her, she developed a super unhealthy attachment style to both of them. while vaggie genuinely cared about lute and wanted to protect her (this isn't me saying adam didn't care about her btw because she was probably the only person he ever actually loved), lute was definitely a moral dilemma for adam. because on one hand, here was this kid that looked up to him so much and he really did feel bad for her, but man was she fucking incompetent at times. still, he didn't boot her from her position as lieutenant, but he didn't do anything to help that unhealthy attachment either. he instead just used it to brainwash her even worse because it's adam and he doesn't know how to express love whatsoever. 😭 he was like a narcissistic parent, basically. if she did everything perfectly just the way he wanted it, she'd be praised and reminded why she was the favorite, but if she made one mistake... it was like a whole other person. and it was overwhelming, but lute did EVERYTHING she could to be what he wanted her to be because she craved validation so badly after being bullied so much. which is exactly why adam kept it up.

I picture her really starting to get it together at around, eh, 15-16?? something like that. old enough that she was beyond sick of being kicked around and desperate to do something about it. it was like an overnight switch. she stopped sleeping and started training on her own time, pushing herself to her limits, putting on a mask. and all of a sudden she was a mini adam without the humor and guitar solos. she was cold, she was viscous, and she was tired of letting other people take advantage of her when she was the one who was supposed to be in charge.

this definitely put a rift between her and vaggie, because the suddenly heartless leader was absolutely not the little kid vaggie took hit after hit to protect. lute didn't understand why vaggie hated the new her when she was so obviously better than she was before, right? but vaggie just wanted her friend back.

that being said, I told y'all these would be fallenwings hcs too. I don't see them being anything more than a situationship, at least pre-canon, but man was it rough. this was THE toxic homoerotic best friend situationship every repressed lesbian teen goes through, except with murder and betrayal!

like were they dating? not officially. but did they make out covered in blood and bruises after fist fighting in the middle of trying to have a conversation about what they were to each other? well well well... 😘

I feel like vaggie really wanted something more with lute, but lute was so in her own head with her own internalized homophobia and newfound fear of being seen as weak as she used to be that the second things started getting too far she got scared and ran. and what was the only way to get vaggie to stop trying to make her feel feelings™ again than to just... make her hate her altogether. it's easier that way, right? vaggie sparing the sinner was just the perfect excuse to justify herself.

though, who am I kidding? lute spent the next three years crying herself to sleep using her ex situationship's shirt as a pillowcase because her dumbass tried to kill her... and as soon as vaggie crashed back into her life alive and with a girlfriend... well, if at first you don't succeed!

TW this holds like the tiniest amount of suggestiveness as I briefly go over procreation/sex but it's nothing in depth. I only added it since a big part of eden lore is basically cannon Adam being a dick about wanting to be dominant in everything including sex. Spoiler alert he's not a dick about it in this au.

Back with more Adam switching places with Lilith au thoughts that no one asked for <3333 This time I wanted to focus more on their time in Eden and the dynamic between Adam and Lilith.

Since it's said that Lilith and Adam were both made to be equals being made from the same dust I imagine they would have pretty similar personalities at least at the beginning. With them both having dominant personalities, the two would quickly drift apart with them constantly clashing together. I.e. they're naming a deer and Adam wants to call it a buck while Lilith thinks the name doe would fit it better, but frankly neither of them wants to submit to the other so they just keep on arguing. Which eventually leads them to just going behind each other's backs, causing deers and most animals to have two different names based on their sex.

This would continue to carry on until there were no more animals to name, but then it would start all over again when it came to naming foods, and it's quite clear they just don't work well together. So, they eventually come to a mutual agreement to just leave one another alone. And for the most part it works with the two of them just kind of sticking to their own pieces of Eden. I.e. Lilith favoring the beaches while Adam was partial to the more shaded parts of the garden.

However, this doesn’t work forever since eventually the seraphim come back down and ultimately ruin it all. For the first time in ages, the angels call out for them to express their confusion on why the two have yet to even attempt to procreate. This causes them to both play it off as just not getting around to it, and while the seraphims seem to accept their excuse at face value, they still do basically tell them to get a move on. Saying how it's in god's plan that the two of them populate Eden. While Sera even cryptically mentions how if they don't then they'll need to come up with something else.

Safe to say the both of them are a little scared about what will happen if they fail their purpose, causing them to once again attempt in getting along with each other. Although just like before, the two butt heads constantly, and eventually they come up with the bright idea that they don't necessarily need to like each other to have sex. So, they decide to just give up on interacting with one another outside of what was necessary.

Only to also realize they cannot agree on anything in the bedroom either. The position? Who's on top? Fuck that if one of them can't be on the top than neither of them can!

(Or at least Adam was in denial)

Which leads to pretty unsatisfying sex but they do, do their purpose so really the seraphims can't get mad at them. Although this new cycle leaves both Adam and Lilith in even worser moods than before, which is why Lucifer even comes into the picture to begin with.

See the seraphims might not do much, but they do periodically check in on Adam and Lilith with an all seeing orb. Similar to one used to watch Angel Dust during the trial Charlie has with Heaven. So during these periodic check-ins, they notice how Lilith and Adam are unhappy in Eden, and in an attempt to alleviate this they assign Lucifer to go down there to basically keep them both happy. They make this decision partly due to Lucifer being known as god's morning star, making him more than qualified to lighten up the mood. But also because they're tired of Lucifer constantly wreaking havoc in heaven's order with his bouts of creativity. So, they see it as hitting two birds with one stone.

Even if Sera was a little hesitant to do so, considering there's a chance Lucifer will cause just as much havoc with his creativity in the garden if not more. However, the others argue that he would be too busy keeping Lilith and Adam both happy to do much mischief, if any at all. Ultimately, the latter argument won out.

So, Lucifer is now assigned to the garden, and over all his introduction is taken well by both Adam and Lilith. The two of them actually getting along enough to stand being near each other for once. At least while Lucifer was there to keep them both preoccupied. The two being very curious about the seraphim after all.

And through all three of them spending time together I can actually see both Adam and Lilith becoming more tolerant of each other until dare I say it they actually start to like each other. Not enough to love each other as they were intended to, but they basically were those types of friends that only became friends because they had a mutual friend, who in this case is Lucifer.

During these times, Lucifer introduced the first humans to music with Lilith taking to singing while Adam seemed to favor using instruments, specifically string ones. Imagine a cute moment with all three of them just creating music together <333

Now of course there are still times Adam and Lilith can't stand each other, which leads to days where Lucifer has to spend time with them separately. During one of these times, Lucifer may or may not have created ducks, and had Adam name them so they would be a thing because ducks are the greatest and it was a crime that they weren't a thing already!

So, yeah small duck lore they weren't actually meant to exist lmao and Adam was the one to suggest their weird corkscrew penises so blame Adam for that one. Also, blame Lucifer for thinking listening to him was a good idea. When Lilith found out she wasn't impressed.

And just to be fair to Lilith when she and Lucifer spent time alone they probably went to the beach mainly. They had water fights started by Lucifer, but Lilith wasn't about to not retaliate after he got her soaked. Honestly slay

Anyways when Lucifer wasn't around because even he had a life outside of them, and went back to heaven at the end of each day. The two were reminded of their other purposes besides just tending to the garden. Which was the only real time Adam and Lilith weren't happy/at each other's throats. When they had to do the do neither of them ever came away happy from it despite their relationship being arguably better ever since Lucifer came.

And since it was basically Lucifer's job to keep them happy, he could pick up on their moods relatively well. So, eventually he put two and two together, and was like hey they were both happy when I left them, but once I came back they were upset so clearly something must have happened.

So, he asks them both what was wrong, but neither of them seem keen on talking about it with him because if there was one thing these two had in common it was their stubbornness. Safe to say, he didn’t get his answer for quite awhile until eventually it comes out, and well Lucifer's job is to keep them both happy. He would also be lying if he said he didn't see them both as attractive so he made them both an offer. He was already their buffer in everything else so why couldn't he be their buffer in sex too.

Understandably, the offer was shocking and while both were tempted, they were also unsure. Whenever the other seraphims mentioned procreation it was always strictly between Lilith and Adam, man and women. They never mentioned that the act could have a third participant or that it was appropriate for a man to lay with another man. So, they didn't outright decline the offer, but they didn't accept it either. As neither of them wanted to bring forth the wrath of the other angels or god. Instead, the three just kind of acted like nothing was said for a while. Although the offer was fresh in all of their minds.

Lucifer was most likely freaking out in his head being like I really just suggested that?! What was I thinking, I made everything so much more awkward, didn’t I?! While Adam was having a crisis over even being slightly open to the idea of laying with someone that presented male, and Lilith was probably the most level headed.

She wouldn't necessarily be like yeah lets do this right away, but she would definitely see the pros to accepting this arrangement and notice how the cons didn't really outweigh them. Probably would go through the whole scenario and rationalize why it really was for the best that they accepted the arrangement. Before she would do it all over again because she was still scared of upsetting any higher power like any normal human would be and wanted to make sure she was making the right decision.

So, after a lot of consideration and even more panicking, the three eventually agreed to the arrangement. With Lilith being the first to come to this conclusion followed by Lucifer and finally Adam. Although at first, Lucifer would just be there to talk them through it, coming up with solutions to their problems, basically playing mediator while never actually intervening in a physical manner.

Then, when that was well received, and after he was encouraged by both parties to get more involved Lucifer would start to touch Lilith while they were intimate, but still nothing too invasive. He would only touch when necessary to ensure everything ran smoothly. He wouldn't yet lay a hand on Adam because the guy was still kind of antsy over having another man present during intercourse. Period.

Although that wouldn't last for too long with Adam's jealousy winning over his initial gay panic, and eventually Lucifer would have free range to guide both of them in a physical, non-invasive manner. I.e. he would put his hand on one of their hips to get them to thrust in rhythm with each other instead of fighting over who was setting the pace.

From there, they would eventually become more comfortable with the whole arrangement and Lucifer would slowly become more of a participant rather than just a buffer.

This arrangement would notably work better for everyone, and their dynamic would probably become the healthiest it's been.

Valerie i liked this backstory on her. Considering she's brown skin latina and lesbian of course she's an easy target of abuse and bullying then she's also emo. The backstory of her was actually quite good in vivzie lore but the constant joke about genitalia and her view of sex worker is disgusting. So thank you changing her name also giving her proper backstory

Of course! When I started doing this obviously the show hadn't come out yet and we didn't know Valerie (not calling her her original name) was a exterminator. Honestly, I think they should have kept her a human sinner. Yeah I think a fallen angel finding redemption at the Hotel could have been a really good plot line! But personally I think they should have used that on a ESTABLISHED angel.

How fucked up would it be that Emily, someone who is heavens ideal angel, gets outlasted because she's sided with the child of the man that caused all the pain and suffering on humanity. Hell it wouldn't just effect her, it would effect Sera too. Sera obviously doesn't like the extermination but doesn't have the power to stop them. Imagine the FEAR and PANIC that she would be feeling now that her precious little sister is in hell, where she could be exterminated.

Valerie is a character I don't spend nearly enough time on and it's not because I don't like her, her background is increasingly sensitive though. The three most important parts of her background I would argue is her: Salvadoran identity, her LGBTQ identity, and her abusive relationship.

I am White. I have never experienced racial discrimination, something I am increasingly grateful for. How I write racism has to be sensitive because I could spew some racist bullshit if I'm not careful. (Actually my best friend T (not using their real name) is Mexican and has told me about their experiences as being a WOC in my, VERY white southern school. It's so sorry you moved here)

Her LGBTQ background is something I have more experience with. I am a Pansexual but no one respects that. The best I get labeled with is Bisexual and half the time people think I'm a lesbian because my one relationship was a girl. It's alot easier for me to write homophobia because I've experienced homophobia.

Her abusive relationship is something I need to research more. Same things with racism, I've never experiences a abusive relationship.

Valerie is someone I have to include more because I love her so much 💜

Comments: absolutely adored this fic!!!! It adapts the first 2 episodes amazingly and creatively, and the way it handles the characters make sense for a high school yknow. I was really invested in how the characters are intertwined with each other, and how you slowly figure it out. Build up is great, art is great (and all drawn by the author!) and it certainly has twists for you to find out. Does contain heavy Sunset x SciTwi if you’re not into that, but if you are or even neutral but like EQG, this is an amazing read!! Author is on tumblr @/evelili as well, and they have an animated trailer here!

An alternate universe re-imagining of "Friendship is Magic." Rainbow Dash is the personal protege of Celestia, ruler of all Equestria. Follow her through the events of the 1,000th Summer Sun Celebration and the return of Nightmare Moon! (A significant rewrite of the "Rainbooms and Royalty")

Comments: I love AU’s like this, so this was a delight to read! I LOVED how it kept RD’s character in tact, one good example being why she leaves for Ponyville (which you’ll have to read to find out). Moreover, it characterizes the other main 6 well, and even has some bg ponies such as Derpy/Ditzy Doo come in, and they’re characterized well! Honestly was never a fan, even as a kid, of the mlp fandom’s tendency to give bg ponies so much attention (I was a main 6 stan 😤) but they’re handled really well!! I actually grew attached to them. Anyways, the trials are handled differently, but also more interesting, with each given a good amount of depth.

Comments: ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Banger opening, banger ENDING. Focuses on the EQG versions of Celestia and Luna, particularly Celestia and her life and mistakes in relation to her dreams, where she has wings. A must read for any EQG fans, Celestia fans and/or royal sisters fans.

Pinkie Watches Paint Dry by AbsoluteAnonymus - 2.5k words. Rated E. Tagged comedy, random.

Pinkie Pie has an existential crisis while painting her room. This self-parody is dedicated to Professor Piggy, who once told me that I could write a story about Pinkie watching paint dry and weave it into an incredible psychological journey. Let's see if he was right.

Comments: Well characterised for Pinkie, and it soon involves RD and Twi. Well written, and the banter between Twi and RD, along with RD and Pinkie make it a great read!

Looking Glass by Krickis - 195k words. Rated T. Contains profanity, underage drinking, a fade to black sex scene (nothing explicit), and an 18yr (Random cashier) flirting with a 12yr old (Sunset) in chapter 9 and 11. Tagged drama, slice of life.

Sunset always knew that she was destined for greatness, but she never dreamed of how great she could become. Not until she had seen it – the mirror had shown her as an alicorn. Ignoring Celestia’s warnings, Sunset goes looking for answers.

When she learns that the mirror is also a portal to another world, well, what else was she supposed to do? But it seems that she hadn’t considered every possibility. She hadn’t, for example, considered that she might get herself trapped on the other side. Nor did she think she’d find herself transformed into a child again.

Comments: A deep dive into pre-EQG 1 Sunset!! I ABSOLUTEY ADORED THIS!! It fixes a lot of plot holes, such as where Sunset lived as she’s shown living on her own, how she knew of Twilight and the element of magic, and her obsession with becoming the top of the school. It excellently fleshes out Sunset’s backstory, and it’s genuinely a tragedy reading it. The author described it as Sunset making all the wrong choices and being a horrible person, and despite all of that you do feel for her - she is the emotional core of the story. Moreover, AJ in this fic is especially amazing, acting as the moral compass and inspiration to Sunset, it’s much needed in a, for a lack of a better word, more gritty/realistic fic. And no, there’s no Sunset x AJ in this, surprisingly.

Comments: with a focus on AJ and RD, I love the way they’re characterised. AJ is given quite a lot of depth, and I love the way it’s handled in relation to RD and her family. Definitely a tear jerker, and fitting of hurt/comfort. HIGHLY reccomend for any AJ or RD fans. Spoilers tho -> RD’s backstory is noticable different than her canon one since this was written before her parents’ personalities were shown.

Comments: Anyone upset abt the Mare-Do-Well episode and how RD was treated, or how Twi was treated in Canterlot wedding will appreciate this fic. However, I mostly appreciate it for how the conflict is treated, and general good characterizations.

Comments: Well written and an interesting way to potray how Earth Ponies are as important as Unicorns and Pegasi!! However, the ending feels very odd? In a way. Still, very good for any earth pony enjoyers out there.

Comments: pretty good, solid writing!! Honestly just a little hard to figure out the motivations in the beginning but if you need some assisstance the author writes some explanations in the comments of one of the early chapters.

Just raising Vincent in a 'normal' environment outside a lab would change the outcome of his character a LOT.... But some parallels still stand!

He's always been a very performative and willful person (even as a kid! He's lived for the spotlight just to prove he can shine in it), so I imagine he'd still have that spitfire in him... But directed towards means and goals that aren't as destructive to himself and others.

He was the type that was categorized as the gifted child, but his talents were never really given much space to develop since Sera's birth took the forefront of their parent's priorities in an already failing marriage. He felt neglected and even replaced in many ways, trying and failing to get their attention and recognition... And suffering academically because of it, which created more rifts. He dealt with his frustrations using physical means- exercise, running off without knowing where, and spending the day roaming and doing dumb tricks with his friends. "Ooh, this makes people pay attention to me? they're looking for me? I should keep doing this!"

Vincent is a bit directionless, getting in trouble with his parents, his school, the law... Until eventually he realizes his shithead hobbies (parkour, stupid dares, sports and street racing) could get him somewhere. He becomes quite successful in this field! but he never seems to get his family's approval... Nothing he does is perfect in their eyes. Is he just a bug to them? He gets kicked out after going to jail for reckless endangerment.

Vincent and Sera grow to be somewhat estranged; Sera thinks that he hates her for being the 'perfect child', and he thinks that she looks down on him for his rockier go at life. "She doesn't know how hard I had it. She'll never understand." His jealousy certainly doesn't inspire any bonds, even though he knows it's not really about her as a person. Their idea of the other was never dispelled with an earnest conversation, and so it continued to build until... They felt it was their reality.

Sera is the quiet, good child. She doesn't bicker, does her tasks well, and their parents even go so far as to say they learned from their mistakes with Vincent. However, she's always swallowing her feelings, and never feels secure when moving outside the lines set for her. Vincent never understood Sera's plight with always having their parent's 'approval', and so she never brings it up. If anything, he was the bad example. She somewhat envies his freedom, and resents it all the same. "Maybe if he tried harder I wouldn't have to pick up after him. "

She grows up quite alone, with few friends if any. She's always in new clubs and practices and study groups, out by six and back by nine. Sure, it's great to train your child to be multi-talented, but the pressure placed on her leads to whittling herself down into a utilitarian shell to meet her family's expectations, and she loses interest in the things that made her happy. She doesn't have time for herself anymore, nor does she make any. She has work to do, things to attend. What's the point of anything?

Sera leaves home early after a very, very low point in her life and goes to juvenile bootcamp with her highschool friend, Eric, in search of some sort of release from her life, where she'd eventually continue on until entering the Airforce under Monica Herrera's mentorship. There, she eventually meets Nathaniel.

Vincent wanders around the country a lot, likely working in fields that give him the sweet thrills he seeks without staying in one place too long. Good way or bad way, he learns regardless, like a renaissance man of risk taking. Stuntman gigs, extreme sports, racing, and competitions would be his bread and butter. It brings in the dough. And the dopamine. When things slow down, he often leaves to try the next thing and see where it takes him. His unabashed nature opens both doors and windows, while also closing many others. Maybe monotony just scares him.

It's only years later, when Sera and Vince reach a more stable time in their lives and careers, that they reluctantly see eye-to-eye.

Hazbin Hotel theory, AKA, how time effects immortals.

I have actually found a way to fit 3 theories I made together. I am very surprised, but here we go. As you can see they are all connected to how time effects immortal being in the Hellaverse.

To start off, my theory for how old Zestial could be. A lot of people have suggested he could be from the Tudor period, due to his shakespearian mannerisms, but I have an alternative. He reminds me a lot of a character from Percy Jackson, someone named Zoe Nightshade. She is a hunter of Artemis, a clan of immortal maidens who hunt alongside the goddess. She is thousands of years old, and there are some comedic moments from her speaking in a shakespearian manner, then getting annoyed when corrected because she finds the English language irritatingly prone to change. It's entirely possible Zestial faced a similar problem but decided to just not bother changing. If so, this could mean he outdates the English language as we know it. If you don't know what I mean, just take a look at the original draft of Beowulf. Then you'll understand what REAL Old English looks like.

However, this does raise a question. If Zestial, a mortal soul who at most can't be younger than William's conquest of England, is having trouble adapting to the modern language, how come beings that date back to the start of creation, like Lucifer, Adam, Sera, and the other Deadly Sins, fully embrace modern slang. It needs to be remembered that these entities are not human. They do not age, they do not wither, their bodies are fueled by primordial magic. Even Adam only barely counts as human, with him, Lilith and Eve being the progenitors of our race. Nothing completely mortal can kickstart a globe spanning species with just two participants. It seems that with natural, ingrained magic power comes a great ability to adapt and change. This could also explain how, well, nice some of the sins are. It's entirely possible that spending millennia marinating in failure and spite can get tiring, leading to a desire to seek self care. That's part of why Stolas had been my favourite character before I found out he was 35, I loved the idea of an ancient force of evil just becoming burnt out and depressed. (Don't get me wrong I still think he's great but it's a bit of a let down. Episode one of season 2 was great for angst fans, not so much for lore fans.) This would explain a lot, and would allow me to ignore all the 'the king of lust believes in consent' memes I keep seeing. Bee for example was probably quite a bitch (hahaha) until recently, I can imagine her just randomly eating people when they annoy her. I don't even want to say what Ozzie once was. I would have said that Lucifer might have once taken a more hands on approach to running hell, but my third theory disputes that to explain why he's the way he is (sorry to string you along.) To be fair, they might not all have changed for the better. Mammon, for example. I headcanon he was once more like a Great Beast guarding his vast wealth, like the dragons of old, as his many servants brought him more treasures. Then he discovered capitalism, possibly when global trade and slavery became a big deal. Thanks Britain. I know I'd prefer to deal with Smaug than Jeff Bezos.

I also suspect that they changed mannerisms as well as behaviours. After all, it doesn't really make sense that many characters have american accents when they were around before the first humans even made it across the land bridge to Alaska. They've likely changed with the times. Not only that, their rings have likely changed. I imagine that the ring of wrath once was very similar to Sparta, and maybe after that the viking idea of Norway. As Greed is currently overrun with mafia stereotypes, it was probably once a haven for blackbeard era pirates. I also for some reason imagine Bee as having been french. No hate intended (except for when I need to make jokes about the centuries old blood feud that existed between britain and france, in which case Confound You, you snail eating poltroons!) Now here's the part you wouldn't have been expecting. With all this in mind, what was Lucifer like way back when. Well here's the thing, I think he was Irish.

I have been rereading some old british folklore, and honestly, despite the devil being a prince of darkness, the great dragon, the tempting servant, he's a bit of a failboy. Like, there's this one legend where he was digging a trench to flood some churches, only for some random lady to light a candle and cause a cockrel to crow, tricking him into thinking the sun was rising and running away. There's also the legend of Jack O the Lantern, where he came to drag Jack to hell, but jack went 'oh, lets play a trick on those priests, you turn into a multiplying coin, and I'll give it to them, and then you'll leave and they'll think they robbed each other' the devil immediately cancelled his plans to play, turned into a coin, and was unceremoniously shoved into a bag until he promised never to send Jack to hell. Even when the puritans came along and ruined everyone's fun, it was implied that instead of utilising his many minions to spread evil, the devil would just go around randomly convincing farmers daughters to do interesting things instead of being good little repressed women. I could totally see this guy personally going down to Georgia and challenging some kid to a fiddling contest for his soul, or spending years depressed making ducks because his wife left. Dear god.

Now, WARNING!!! My opinion:

Chapter 1. story

It's alright. I'm glad it doesn't take itself seriously most of the time. With that said, I don't really understand why writers thought bringing up certain themes would be a good idea, but it's not my place to criticize it on this decision. What I can mention is that sometimes it's hard to understand whenever something important is happening or not, so I mayhaps missed something. But I like the main idea, characters, plot points, lore, ect.

Chapter 2: artstyle

When I was just starting watching this show I heard a lot of people saying "character designs are too complicated" or "the artstyle sucks" But you know how many characters were too complicated for me? ONE. Those were Husk's wings that dazzled in my eyes, in a bad way.

What people should be talking about more is how LOCATIONS are designed. Because, I feel hell is too bright. And I don't mean it's too red. I mean it's like... Too clean. I'd imagine place full of sinners to use less saturated colours. In my opinion, it would help characters stand out more and make the atmosphere a bit darker, and if I recall correctly, a lot of more serious/important moments happened outside. So yeah, I'd prefer more mud and dirt around the place.

Also I feel like I'd be lying if I didn't mention Vox's(?) design. I don't like his face, I'll be honest. I feel like it's a missed opportunity of adding interesting visuals to him, but hey. Maybe we'll have more stuff later? Who knows.

Chapter 3: representation

Now the big stuff. I've heard the main person behind the project doesn't like t-spectrum that much. I don't know if this statement is 100% truth or not, but if it is, it shows.

It's great this series has gay/pan/ace/lesbian/bi/ect characters, but lack of they/thems or trans folks is noticeable... And it saddens me a little, personally. I'm not going to hate on the creator for that, but I will say I wish this show had at least one nb/trans person in it. And I'm more than confident that there would be a way to implement such character with the correct time period in mind.

With that said, I feel like queer relationships were shown in a good way. I especially like Vaggie/Charlie's dynamic.

Chapter 4: dialogue

Sometimes I felt like people just said stuff a bit out of character. Like, I wouldn't expect Charlie to swear. Also I feel like Adam was acting unacceptable in court and should've been criticised by Sera(?) but that's just nitpicky. Lots of people said the dialogues are too vulgar but... We're in hell?..

Chapter 5: overall opinion

Honestly, this show is criticised a bit too heavily. It doesn't take itself seriously, y'all can relax. As far as I'm aware creator of this show isn't liked by the public but some people take it to extreme levels. Yeah, it's far from perfect and I feel like it could've done a lot of stuff differently, but it isn't that bad. Animation is nice, voice acting is nice too. (Vaggie's VA made me like their character, same with Adam. Didn't save Charlie tho, she's annoying lol) Would I recommend watching it? Eh, if you have free time and don't wanna think too much.

5. What do they specialize in within their class?

Answered this here but we could go beyond and say that Eurydice's specialized in Storm/Lightening magic as well. I feel like all mages have a base magic type, usually elemental, that through when their children through small, unconscious like being unusually warm or being able to withstand cold weather. For Eurydice, she knew institutively if a storm was coming by how the air tasted. Her magic manifest first as an electric shock. All this to say the first tree of magic she started and masters was the Storm tree and the magic she naturally produces is related to that. She has the ability to not only act as a lightening rod, but to control rain and storms within a short range. Her hair also has been known to contain static, so those who are stupid enough to touch it with permission have been given a good shock.

LIFE

06. Which aspects of the culture they were born into holds the most significance for them?

Woooooo, tough question because what part of Dalish culture is not significant to Eurydice? Her life, her values, her beliefs are all deeply intertwined to who she is. To strip Eurydice of her culture would be to strip her of a part of herself. If I had to really think of specific aspects, it would be family, religion, folklore, and halla. These are the things she found comfort in, and what she ultimately wants to protect. Despite her issues with her parents, you'll notice how much Eurydice loves her siblings and her grandmother, and it's obvious that her loyalty to them went so far that she stunted herself for her siblings betterment. Ultimately, in order to be her own person she had to escape her parents and separate from her siblings, but they're always on her mind and even if she travels far, she always finds her way back to them. Eurydice holds a great belief in the Evanuris and especially Ghilan'nain. Her connection with her and with halla are clear just by a single look at her face and what vallaslin she wears. When she invokes a Creator, it's always Ghilan'nain, and her shrines at Skyhold are dedicated first to her. As you can imagine, the reveal that known of the Evanuris were actually gods was detrimental to Eurydice's beliefs and it shook her to her core. Still, even after that, she still holds her beliefs and she worships Ghilan'nain for what she represented, rather than who she was. Halla go along with this hand in hand, but there's nothing in this world that could shake Eurydice' belief in halla--even if a halla ramped horned first into her. And as folklore, I mention in the other ask that Eurydice grandmother was the clan's storyteller and it created a deep fascination with folklore and history in here. It's those stories that she takes examples from and find comfort in. And it's those stories that she first shares with those she loves.

PARTY

02. Which companions (or advisors) are they closest friends with? Who do they respect?

Okay so close to least close in this order: Cullen, Vivienne, Bull, Josephine, Dorian, Varric, Solas, Sera, Cassandra, Blackwall, Leliana. Solas should be higher, but Eurydice and Solas have always had a weird relationship that bounces between father/daughter, rivals, equals, and 'living to piss the other off'. Does she respect him...I mean she used to until he disappeared and then showed up later to tell her she's not a real person. Certainly it's one of the most complex of her relationships. Eurydice respect Vivienne and Josephine the most. She'd respect Leliana more if she had demanded she speak for the Maker the second they met, so that relationship was dead on a arrival. But anyway she'd do anything for those two. She'd ride across the world for them. She went to the Winter Palace for THEM. She didn't kill Celene HERSELF for THEM. So. Vivienne and Josephine mean a lot to her.

08. How do they feel about the Deep Roads?

Who had a worst time in the Deep Roads, me or Eurydice? Trick question it was my warden Seren, but Eurydice has a pretty awful time, nevertheless. We're talking about a woman who likes to explore forests and often dissociates by daydreaming that she could become air and flying into the sky over the mountains. Do you really think she'd have a good time in a place thousands of feet underground surrounded by monsters and stone? I'm surprised she didn't suffocate down there. The Titan shit was pretty cool though, she had to admit. Valta sticking around the Wellspring and disappearing from history is a good move, Eurydice wishes she could do the same.

You may be asking, okay, but why is Freyja with them?? Either that or you're just done questioning Crow's logic. Anyways, the reason why she was with them at the time is because she really wanted to learn Alchemy, and practically begged for her dad to let Artemis teach her the ways of Alchemy, because who doesn't want to learn how to make ethers and potions?? It's cool!! Regardless, while Artemis was working, they went ahead and asked Freyja if they could face time their best friend Allen while they were waiting for the potions and what-not to finish, and Freyja being, well, Freyja gave the okay for them to go ahead and do so, and when Artemis began the call with Allen, immediately Allen started bombarding Artemis with questions, but then out of the corner of his eye (and the screen) he saw a girl with Artemis and instantly asked who that was, which resulted in Freyja ending up joining in on the conversation, and both Allen and Freyja like, hit it off instantly and Artemis was so thankful that Freyja had become friends with Allen instantly. Also, because Allen is a bit older and around the same age as Artemis, I like to imagine that Freyja sees him as an older brother figure and Artemis as an older sibling figure, so, kind of like the siblings she never had sorta thing, they're always there for her when she needs someone and is feeling alone when Elena isn't there, or her dad is super busy with work and stuff. Artemis and Allen are probably the two siblings anyone would ever want tbh.<333

A little time passes by and Allen eventually meets up with Artemis while Artemis was out at the market, buying supplies they needed for the potion brewing, and Freyja was with them because Freyja wanted the 'full experience' as she put it, and because Freyja was out in public, Elena had to go with her to ensure her safety, and then thats when Freyja finally meets Allen in person, and she introduces Elena to Allen, and Elena is immediately like: "ohhhh! You're the guy that Freyja is friends with!" And Allen is all like: "yeah that's me!!!" Anyways, Freyja basically forces Elena to become friends with Allen which isn't hard because Allen is super fucking friendly and really open!! And Artemis is super happy to see their "little sister" Freyja really happy for once because like, she has three people, two of which are people she sees as her siblings, and one of them is her crush, and all three of them are looking out for her and making sure she's okay and doesn't get deprived of attention and stuff.<33

However, once Artemis left to join Avalanche, they still kept as much contact as they possibly could with Freyja and Elena, occasionally checking in on them and making sure they were okay, but Artemis also knew that they were doing great, considering the circumstances. But this ain't about Artemis, so back to Allen.

Once Artemis left to join Avalanche, Allen who still lives in Sector 7, visited Elena and Freyja more frequently, most of the times in secret because who knows what might happen if Rufus finds out that Freyja and Elena are hanging out with a "lowly civillian" such as Allen. Anyways, the three of them hang out a lot, and every now and again meet up with Artemis in secret, because, well, yknow, they're apart of Avalanche, and Avalanche is kind of the enemy??

Anyways, Allen still stays close friends with all three of them and such so that's fun!!

Songmaiden! That's a ship name, if you didn't know! Rell x Seraphine. It's one of those things that's like...in canon lore, they don't even know each other exist? Like, Rell is fucking about in Noxus, Sera's hanging around Piltover + Zaun - they don't know each other! But Rell has that one voice line in game ( "You're cute, Seraphine! ...uh..b..bye!" ) that made people think abt it...Imagining Seraphine singing her songs of Unity between Piltover and Zaun, and Rell the rough and tumble acting as a bodyguard? Oh yeah. Its just really, really, really cute honestly!!

I think i dont need to say much here, but Lucian x Senna! I just. AGH. there are no words honestly. The Dedication. The Devotion. The Paralells, the way it impacts the very world around them. The absolute POWERCOUPLE that is Lucian x Senna cannot be easily defined. I just REALLY love em fdsfdsfsdg Lillia x Yone............. its just. its just so...... Lillia is so sweet and Yone is this super cool badass swordsman and then he's just so nice to her and vows to protect her ??? and im just. AUGH. GOD OK... Does Lavender have a favourite flower? Does she give Jun flowers based on their meanings of message? Also loving her surname ahaha I also gave Sera one but didn't really think to,,, note it somewhere? It was something like, Starbreeze, but there's no lore behind that I just really liked how it sounded haha (also totally drawing her if you don't mind!!!hehe>:3)

Lavender's favorite flowers are lavender, her namesake!! When she realized the garden store sold lavender seeds she was like =O!!!

Her second favorite of the garden store's selection is probably the blue roses, and beyond what the store sells she also like hydrangeas a lot.

She absolutely gives Jun flowers based on their messages! Especially after they started dating I imagine her standing outside Catherine's cottage at 7am waiting for her to emerge so she can ask her if she has any flowers other than the ones at the garden store so she can grow more variety to give to people. She does her best to collect groups of flowers to give her friends and loved ones colorful bouquets that are unique and each mean something slightly different. Jun gets a lot of blue flowers that mean love, peace, trust, and thankfulness!

Heh, Starbreeze sounds like a super nice surname, and something like Seraphina Starbreeze has a nice ring to it I think.

You can totally draw Lavender! I'd be happy for it. So far the only reference I have for her is the picture I drew for my avatar which I don't think I've actually posted, but it's drawn in a chibi style similar to the game's style, heh. But I could still post it if you wanted to see it!

I should probably plant more Lavender and flowers around Lavender's house in game, but I have a lot of chests there.... something to think about for the future lol.

There was a lot that happened in this book, but it was tied together very nicely so it didn’t feel rushed at all!

I love the mix of magic and science, and how it is used to control people. It works as a great metaphor for media control in todays society, while keeping it simple enough to be understood.

The horror that comes with realizations later on on the book is fantastic! I cried on the bus. And there were hints dropped though out the book, too, so if you really wanted to you could definitely figure it out before.

Really cool setting too! Would definitely re-read.

Apologies for the strange question and for any inconvenience, what are your thoughts on Seraphine. Do you like her? I personally feel like that hatred for her is a bit... a lot... much.

I'll try to condense my response cause i dont want to do another longpost. I must say and warn that my relationship with Riot Games almost always dances on the love-hate. Either i love something and i adore it and cherish it, or i just hate it and despise him. But time also does the thing, where i just turn my hate to being oblivious about it or just trying to enjoy it my own way.

Going to be completely honest, i dont really care about Seraphine. Wich doesnt mean i want to tear her apart in pieces or that i hate writing about her, not the case at all, i like enjoying fanwriting and fanart about her cause its what i believe really matters about her since Riot (IMO) did a bad job on her.

I do enjoy playing Seraphine, i think her champ is neat, and honestly? She has pretty skins, wichever but her OG design (in League Of Legends) is very nice, i do own one of her skins cause i really liked it and i enjoy playing her. She's fun to play wich somewhat made me not hate her with time. Keeping up with the positive traits, i think her LOR illustrations and expanded context really helped filling some blanks and making her persona more realistic and more adapted to the context, her OG league design and the way the placed her in the context of the lore (IMO) was like placing one of those cute 'Follow your dreams!' mugs in a warzone with blood and dead bodies on the ground. I appreciate that Riot wanted to add variety to the champ pool, there's a lot of war lords and edgy people hanging around or just girls whose only personality is giving her big bazoongas that well, the idea was good in starters. The lore started well... i mean, i like the thing that explained that she had a disease that was affecting her hearing, i think it triggers her passion for music, and that her family was loving and supportive of her, it helps to understand her bubbly and positive personality, her lore wasnt entirely bad.

On the other hand, though... i wont be the person that screams 'BUT SHE USES SKARNERS DEAD KIND' cause being quite frank, if i dont care about Seraphine, imagine how much i care about Skarner, but i will admit that her initial lore was very gorey when you stopped to think about. And i just know that Riot moves by cashgrabs (hell, open league of legends or a league related blog and scroll down just 1 month and you will see disaster and rage) and its clear they made Seraphine as a huge cashgrab using K/DA as a bait to get you to buy a definitive skin of a champion that just came out, when there's champions that dont even have a legendary skin, and im not even talking about champs like, Yorick, for example, but champions with huge rates like Lulu... It felt highly insultating, at least for me. I admit its a pretty skin and i like the concept of seeing her grow in popularity and her different phases through her journey on music, i ADORE her second look in the definitive skin with the white/blue outfit and the flowers... but, in the end, hideous cashgrab. You can see the amount of work in KDA Seraphine but... OG Seraphine feels weak, wich in the end LOR tried to fix and did good imo.

If her hate was too much... well, if anything i would throw her out of the boat just for the obvious cashgrab, aside from that... perhaps and looking back at it maybe it was somewhat unjustificated, i still feel her original design is a mush of concepts that didnt slap well and i dont feel her quite fitting in Piltoverian/Zaunitan context but theres not really any other place in Runeterra you can place her... I appreciate Sera for what the fandom did to her, how they improved her and made her more likeable, not for what Riot decided that was worth enough money.

I like her with Rell pop star and heavy metal girlies slap :)
