journaling supernatural related bullshit? hold on *grabs my own notebook*
here we go: join me in my attempts to make a note of every gay (homophobic) joke in supernatural, figuring out whatever the plot of season 7 was (I was told it was the "turducken arc" and thought I could guess what that meant [incorrect]), and whether Crowley and Cas were actually just straight up fucking towards the end of season 6 because oh boy did they milk that running joke to death
Jensen Ackles confuses me
"subject" a friend and fellow test subject I was watching with (the study being the psychological effectsof watching supernatural of course)
"mom" is my mom
ALT TEXT
[page 1]
so the episode where Dean is autistic about cowboys:
I honestly felt sad about him being the button of the joke
"would send him a scotch but he's dead" -subject
"I favor the eternal Tuesday afternoon of an autistic man who died in the bathtub in 1953" -Cas
[page 2]

"It's not like Cas lives in my ass... Cas get out of my ass!"
"I was never in y--"
keep depowering Cas so he doesn't ruin monster of the week eps
Cas is cheating on Dean
"Crowley and Bobby are married" -subject
Okay. what the fuck was going on between Cas and Crowley in the season 6 finale? It's really not a joke anymore. How many times can you make a joke before it's not a joke anymore?
[page 3]
Crowley makes a deal with Cas. For consistency's sake we must assumed they kissed at least, but we also know that some deals can only be sealed with sex--is the kiss a formality?
Balthazar calls it a marriage
they get really close
after Crowley pokes eve's brain "Chocula here felt every tickle [...] apart from the obvious erotica value, you got me."
DEAN (to SAM) this makes you Lois lane
"a whore is a whore is a whore" -Crowley
"Have you forgotten you're the bottom in this relationship" -Crowley
[page 4]

Season 7 is so fucked
Godstiel is indifferent to sexual orientation "utterly indifferent to sexual orientation" that's--progress
So I did not guess it was borax. but I swear I've heard it somewhere. do not know--but borax killing monsters is too familiar. far too familiar.
So... the turducken arc. That was the most severe mood whiplash I've been through no doubt. I screamed. It's here, I thought. The turducken arc. It's worse. Worse than I expected. how.
when I heard the words "turducken arc," I first imagined a couple things.
[page 5]
haunted turducken. simple, literal.
an arc inside an arc inside an arc. metaphorical, perhaps working from the inside out.
a guy inside another guy etc. maybe a demon. demon turducken.
gets it's name from someone on the show comparing them to a turducken.
some weird hell torture. in between figurative & literal
ultimately I thought it was a metaphor or at least a comparison. Dean being stoned from turducken was just so heartwarming. This episode is perfect.
[page 6]
actually: the biblical monster that can only be killed by borax possesses a megacorporation CEO who makes turducken sandwiches filled with oobleck to mind control the population.
"or are you strictly into dick now" -Sam
"they did it again" (be gay) -mom
that castiel autism goes crazy…

Hey howdy! I'm working on a project about superhero omegaverse statistics and wondering how you designate someone an alpha vs omega, etc. In your fics you have a wide range of characters' dynamics and interactions with their secondary genders. It is very cool!
Some prompts: How influenced are you by who you're planning to pair them with, vs their individual attributes? Would you say a character's visual appearance/suit affects how you perceive them? What is the defining trait you look to when figuring out whether someone will be an alpha? How does masculinity vs femininity play a role in your choices? What do you like best about the omegaverse?
Anyway, I'd love to hear your thoughts, but no pressure to reply if you don't want to! Ive attached two graphs here for some context: one looking at Bruce's categorization, and the other looking at the link between suit colours & masculinity & secondary genders.
What a fascinating project!! Thank you for asking me.
How influenced are you by who you're planning to pair them with, vs their individual attributes? Generally I choose the dynamic from attributes and write the pairings from there. The obvious exception is superbat, which is an interesting one for me. I love writing almost exclusive Omega!Bruce/Alpha!Clark but I actually read a ton of Alpha/Alpha superbat, as well as Omega!Clark.
For example, Lex in ASOH was always an omega in my mind, regardless of any plans to pair him off at a later date. I've found that both Clark and Bruce share attributes that make them both interesting and complicated alphas or omegas. A lot of them are tied up in their perceptions of themselves, as well as the public's perception of their identities/secret identities. I will say that Bruce's public Brucie persona and his Batman persona lend themselves very well to the duality of what the public assumes omegas are, versus what omegas want to be -- or can be. I also think his bonds with family/pack lose a bit of complexity when they're reduced to him being a possessive or strict alpha over a pack.
Would you say a character's visual appearance/suit affects how you perceive them? Sometimes! I think the tendency to slap an alpha label on all big, bulky guys is funny, because in ASOH I've been doing almost entirely the opposite -- all of the big bulky guys (except Clark) are omegas! I like flipping those long-standing fic tropes on their heads.
But yes, I am no exception to this trend either. I think the more interesting question is, is this trend exclusive to alpha/omega dynamics? Or do we also classify betas this way too? Dick is a beta in several batfam fics I've read -- is this just because he's a little smaller/slimmer than Jason, etc? Or is it because of characteristics he holds that we attribute to betas (calm, reassuring, playing peacekeeper, etc)?
What is the defining trait you look to when figuring out whether someone will be an alpha? I'm not sure there's just one. I think most characters can be written convincingly as different kinds of alphas. But generally, presence is one trait that comes to mind -- when they want to. if they want to -- are they able to take up a room with sheer aura alone? Do people look to them for advice and direction? Are they self-confident and strongly-motivated? Do you want to bop them on the head every now and then because they're being a little ridiculous?
How does masculinity vs femininity play a role in your choices? There's been a lot of dialogue in fandom and fanon about the feminization of certain characters in pairings because of/related to omegaverse. I try my best to challenge those longstanding trends or biases when I see them pop up in my work. One example of this is use of gender neutral words for omegas who are having pups -- I started using "carrier" instead of "mom/mama" because I think allowing male omegas to retain their masculinity in pregnancy is important (if desired). Otherwise we reduce child carrying to something inherently feminine, which, especially in the omegaverse, is simply untrue.
What do you like best about the omegaverse? It's a great way to challenge ideas about gender in new and interesting scenarios. With the inclusion of instincts and heats/ruts, there's also a lot of forced proximity and decisions made under shades of duress. There's a lot of space there to explore sexuality and the socialization of genders IRL and in universe. How much of what we do truly is instinctual or biological? How much of it is simply how we were raised/raise our own children? Is reproduction truly the end all be all of a person? What happens when we buck society's expectations and forge our own path forward? How can we better foster non-sexual relationships and bonds between family and friends?

Opinion time! I’m sorry but I just simply don’t agree with this headcanon fandom has of Armand being technologically and fiscally inept. “Daniel wake up” posting is getting annoying tbh. He be on that ipad all day. Sure, there is some minecraft alotted time-slot but the rest of the time I’m sure he thrives in being able to control every minuscule part of his and Louis life - from lights and humidity to stock exchange. I don’t think he just presses buttons, he’s too much of a control freak for that. I’m willing to bet he has wallstreet and meditation apps on that thing common users haven’t even heard about. If anything, he’s probably running some of them internet scams, for shits and giggles, or to entice potential victims. He also seemed quite proficient with cleaning supplies and routines. And he can’t be that bad at math, not really, he’s older than invention of calculus ffs. All in all, my theory is every time we see him being inept or confused it's simply tiger being lazy or playing dumb to get some specific benefit out of it.
I agree, mostly. He's definitely technologically adept because it's been a consistent interest of his for at least a hundred years (the projections, the iPad), although I'm not sure how technologically adept he is. I'm sure he knows how to use the iPad and everything, but I'm not sure he actually knows what an algorithm is (in the graphs and math sense). Most people don't. I agree that he likes controlling every aspect of their life. It's his cute little dollhouse. It's his real life Sims game. Who wouldn't? That's the most fun thing there is in the world. He probably has statistics on everything that happens in that house and graphs showing how the humidity changes from day to day and sensors that pick up how many times Louis moved while he slept. I'm not sure if he'd use meditation apps, though. I think he'd find them lame. I agree he'd be into stocks, though. I wrote something about that a while ago. Although I don't know if he'd be good at them. He’d run scams if he got bored enough and he definitely has a million burners, though. But then again, who doesn't?
I don't think being older than calculus makes anyone good at math, though, especially since he spent most of it in an artist's studio, then in an underground wasteland, then a theatre, then Dubai. Do you need calculus for any of those things? I'm sure he can do at least an average amount of math if he tried, though, like up to calculus and whatever they make you learn in advanced high school classes.
I do think he plays dumb, though. Sometimes. But I also think a lot of it is genuine incompetence or confusion. He's not stupid, but he doesn't think. Paradoxically he's very easygoing despite being a control freak, because he's quick to adapt to changing circumstances, and he always adapts before he stops to think. So it's less that he's stupid and more that he's not paying that much attention to what's happening and adapts faster than he can stop to plan. He’s not 100% clocked in all the time. Sometimes he’s chilling and life catches up with him and the tiger, who was happily lazing around, suddenly has to momentarily engage with the world. He’s also very passive, so it might be less that he’s stupid and more than he simply doesn’t act.

I am not dead just severely busy! Days 74-109. I have so much to talk about this time!
So at work (Can't show that due to NDA) I've been bug chasing, and ultimately having to restructure many classes and methods to make one function work as intended.
Then for my C# final I'm still working on my .Net Maui project I finished the journals implementation, and added the event reporting function. I added the events to the journal entry for the day. If there are no entries yet it makes one. I am going to be using the library of microcharts that were used in xamarin (before Xamarin got depreciated into .Net Maui) now it can be used for .Net Maui. I'll be capturing data gathered in the journals to display on graphs to track progress in sleep disorders. At a later time I'll be getting it set up to grab information from sleep tracking apps on mobile.
In C++ my final is to make a game. I am making an adventure game where you can explore a village. It has lore, Easter eggs, and fun imagery (it's a console game unfortunately can't do Unreal). I have to change the code a bit but it has been fun to code!
I might have a contract role coming up for another game studio, so that's exciting.
My plans for the next few days is to get some functionality on the statistics tab in my Maui app, and get my C++ project more put together. At work I'm waiting on the senior dev to plan out how to fix the massive problem we have.

hello everyone!! i wanted to give a huge THANK YOU for joining us in celebrating the rare pairs of Spy x Family! to everyone who submitted and to all who have read or shared or commented, thank you so so much!!! this last week and everything leading up to it has been so filled with excitement and anticipation it's hard to believe it's already over.
i'm so so proud of our little community and how many works we've received! as of typing this there are 25 total fanfic submissions (23 works on the AO3 collection (+1 including chapters for each prompt) +1 submitted on tumblr), 9 pieces of fanart, 1 gifset, and 3 headcanons for a total of 38 submissions!!! it's been an incredible turnout, please give yourselves a pat on the back!!
we've reblogged all the submissions we've found, so if yours hasn't been shared yet, please shoot us a dm/ask either here or on @sxf-rarepairs or @ this account so we can reblog it!!
REMEMBER!! even though the Rare Pair Week itself is over, late submissions are always welcome! as they say, rare pair week may be over, but our love for them goes all year long uwu i have a fanfiction or two i'm planning on finishing and submitting myself, so please don't hesitate! this was so much fun that we at the Spy x Family Rare Pairs discord are already planning more events, so please stay tuned!! if you love rare pairs or even if you just have one you ship ironically (for now), we'd love to have you! there's plenty of seats here at the brainrot circus 💜🎪
once again, THANK YOU SO MUCH for making this week a success!! <333 if you'd like to see more charts and statistics, there will be some based on this year's rare pair week below the cut!
hello, welcome to under the read more, because it was already getting quite long!!!
first off, i know i said the number of submission types we received before, but here it is in pie chart form! it's easier to visualize it this way and i think it's fun nwn
plus i made a chart for the totals of submissions each ship got! loid x franky was the most popular, with a whopping 7 pieces!! and there are, of course, plenty of singular works for other rarer pairs (9, to be exact! that's like half the total number of ships!!) i think i had more ideas for other charts and statistics but they have unfortunately fell out of my head in the span of time between starting to write this and actually making the graphs and posting it 😔 so if y'all have any ideas or further questions about this year's week, feel free to send them over!!
if you've read this far, thank you again!!! hope to see y'all in future events! 💜

Do you do any additional statistics about the movies that are majority seen? For example, do they have common themes? Are they made for a specific audience? Similar stars or crews? Anything like that?
There are regular end-of-month updates posted on the last day of every month which show the top four films with the highest and lowest percentage of "yes" votes. Future ones will also show the top four with the highest percentage of "haven't heard of this" votes and the top four with the highest percentage of "no" votes.
Last month's update featured a pie chart of the genres seen in the (at the time) 35 movies that had received majority "yes" votes:
(Keep in mind that more films have been voted "seen" since this chart was posted so it's a bit outdated now.)
The Letterboxd list is also useful for finding these sorts of stats as Letterboxd has its own filtering system. There are currently 49 movies that have been voted "seen," so if you wanted to see, for instance, how many of those 49 are movies released in the 1990s, you could filter the list by decade and count the ones ranked at 49 or higher, like so:
Doing so reveals that, of the 49 movies that have thus far been voted "seen," 7 of them were released in the 1990s.
Also, last month someone made a graph of the movies posted at that point that you might find interesting; you can view that here. Keep in mind that that post is over a month old at this point so it's missing a fair bit of movies that have been posted more recently.
Hopefully that makes sense and answers your question somewhat! I plan to make more charts for future end-of-month updates, though I can't promise that every update will feature the same chart each time or that they all will feature a chart at all.
To the followers: is there any data in particular y'all would be interested in seeing displayed in this kinda way?

Can’t wait for your 2023 fandom stats
You’re soooooooo cool I’m seriously getting into statistics rn
So many kisses to you <3
Aww, thank you! 😊😊😊 I'm looking forward to seeing what's in the 2023 stats, too! I'm trying to finish up my current analysis on F/F vs. M/M first, but I plan to get to it sometime in January.
I love your enthusiasm SO MUCH and am excited (and blushing!) over having encouraged you to learn stats. <3 May I recommend -- especially if you find stats dry or unhelpful -- that you also consider classes or books about data science?
TBH I found my stats classes deathly boring; they were pretty abstract and never dealt with any interesting or big data sets. (And they never dealt with the kinds of real decision making that goes into gathering, cleaning up, analyzing, or visualizing data.) Data science wasn't really a thing yet when I was in school, but in the end I learned most of my useful stats by working in a psychology research lab and learning how to analyze some messy -- but interesting! -- psychology data. I drew on that experience to start doing the stuff I do in fandom, while also teaching myself some more data scraping and visualization skills. (I also learned from doing a whole bunch of presentations for non-academic audiences at my job that it helps to try to keep graphs and charts as simple as possible, and to state the main takeaway in a big font. :) But I'm not actually sure what classes teach that kind of thing.)
The great @cfiesler has a lab that does awesome fandom studies and may have more advice on how to learn relevant skills for analyzing and sharing fandom data. And a bunch of my other followers also work with fandom data and may have advice -- please feel free to chime in, all!!

Shipping Poll Update
Click here if you haven't voted yet
Hello friends! As of the writing of this post, I've received 103 responses which is amazing! Thank you all so much! A special thank you goes to those who shared the poll - it is thanks to you guys that I got this many responses and I really appreciate it <3
I would like to share some general statistical data so far (the one that doesn't have an impact on the overall results) and address some feedback that I've received. Some graphs
I'm very happy to see that tumblr users have been the most active! You guys rock! Reddit has also been really active and I'm happy to see discord and twitter catching up!
I don't expect a lot of activity from dreamwidth as it's a different kind of website and I barely have any followers there but I'm curious to see how it goes. I ended up not posting anything on instagram because I would need to make images and I currently don't have the spoons for that :c
The age graph is also really cool! I'm very happy to see so many active 31+ people! Almost a quarter! And I'm very grateful to the young adults, who are the main bulk of the participants! I'm also happy to see teen participants express their votes as well c:
That's its for graphs for now - I can't share the rest just yet without the risk of getting the data skewed.
What I'd like to talk about next is your amazing feedback and how a few early participants saved this poll! Read under cut.
Feedback
People Who Have Saved the Poll
I posted the poll at 2 am my time (I had been working late nights on it the entire week because of real life responsibilities taking most of my free time) but decided to stick around for a bit to check if everything was going smoothly and to finish my conversations with friends on discord.
About 7 votes in, I decided to check on the poll and I saw this message in the feedback field:
"I didn`t see Rayla/Callum anywhere. Am I just blind or?"
This person was a life saver! Because although I know I added Rayllum originally, I must've accidentally deleted it and never noticed T-T it really is super easy to accidentally click on an X and delete a row from a multiple choice grid on google forms. Thanks to that person the crisis was averted. And it really would've been a crisis, because Rayllum is the flagship of TDP and getting lots of answers with no opinion on Rayllum would've really hurt the accuracy of the data.
I had also forgotten to add opinion options for some categories in the controversial ships section, which a friend as well as two poll takers notified me about!
Thank you all for the valuable feedback! I don't know what I would do without you.
Other Feedback
A few people mentioned that they weren't sure if it were ok not to tick every ship and I realized I hadn't been clear on that in my instructions. It is absolutely fine to skip whatever you feel like skipping. If there are ships you don't care about so much you don't even want to choose any option for - that is 100% valid and it tells me important information about the ship - you're not just neutral about it, you really do not care about a ship. And if I want to accurately evaluate our fandom's relationship with various ships, this information is also important.
People also commented that there have been too many ships to go through and that's definitely true. I tried to be as thorough as I could by including every possible ship people would have opinions on but the lists ended up being huge. I am planning to change a few things for the season 5 poll. I will probably exclude certain ships that won't do very well on this poll (unless the events in S5 warrant keeping them) and try to rearrange them in a way that can help people go through them faster.
There was a related comment where a person noted that it's not very convenient to scroll back and forth through the four opinion choices on mobile and suggested using just the numbers 1 to 4. That is a very good idea - I will implement this in the next poll.
One person was asking about Breakfast Guards being included in the canon ships. While I didn't get any official confirmations, they were shown almost kissing in the episode where Zubeia visits Katolis so I think that counts as them having some sort of onscreen not strictly platonic relationship.
While I explained the kinds of ships the poll was dealing with as well as the difference between active and passive shipping, I didn't actually explain what I mean by shipping, as one person rightfully pointed out! It's not an easy thing to define but I will try to come up with something for the season 5 poll! So far we can stick to romantic, queerplatonic or nonromantic sexual dynamics.
I used the wrong ship name for Rex Igneous x Avizandum. It should be Zanrex instead of Rexandum and the wonderful @cometchasr explained to why that particular shipname was chosen! He said that Zan was a nickname for Avizandum used a in few fics featuring the former dragon king and it fit very well with how the nickname Zym works. When I don't know a shipname I often just make one up on the spot as a placeholder but I am always happy to hear feedback from actual shippers and I switch to their preferred shipname.
I got so many nice compliments and words of encouragement too! Thank you guys! It means a lot ;__;
I will try to address feedback roughly once a week and keep you all updated on how things are going!

For the book ask, how about 1, 3, 5 and 25?
thank you!
1. How many books did you read this year?
apparently i read 75 books this year! which is a lot! unemployed behaviour! funny graph under readmore
3. What were your top five books of the year?
i already listed some here but i have some more (again, no particular order):
- the master and margarita by mikhail bulgakov
- devil house by john darnielle
- the city & the city by china miéville
- mexican gothic by silvia moreno-garcia
- the living mountain by nan shepherd
5. What genre did you read the most of?
i feel like i read tonnes of murder mysteries this year, but mostly because they’re light reading material inbetween heavier books i like reading, a snack while i digest something else. i definitely gravitated towards ‘important’ and ‘classic’ books, whatever that means - ‘classics’ is my top category in my statistics, alongside fantasy. genre is such a slippery concept i disagree with most of these labels anyway. but i do love murder
25. What reading goals do you have for next year?
i don’t really set myself reading goals because i feel like it dampens the excitement of reading and removes some joy out of it, makes it competitive and performative, making it an obligation and not a hobby. in 2022 i set out to repair my relationship with reading, picking up whatever i felt like and stopping if i didn’t have fun, and i loosely, distantly, wanted to try and read an average of one book per week (something i have exceeded), as well as start tackling some of the white whale novels i always intend to get to but never do. i actually read most of the books on that (intentionally short) list, something i planned more as a long-term commitment. for 2023 i would like to keep reading at a healthy pace, though probably not as ferociously, and explicitly make time in my life for reading after i rediscovered how much i love it. other than that i will update my white whale list in the next few days and go at it again :) be kind have fun!!

I consider myself a pretty small writer, or least not big. But why, when my most popular fic, Lightning Bolts and Breaking Clouds, has 3308 kudos and is constantly gaining more? Because my fic with the second-most kudos has 99. My statistics look like this:
My most popular fic is an outlier adn should not be counted. Now that you have the context of these graphs, I would like to say a few words to fans of that particular unfinished fic about Jason Todd becoming Billy Batson’s dad. I’ll put them under the cut because it’s off-topic from the poll.
Listen. Listen to me. I have NOT forgotten about this fanfic, okay? I will not forget. I promise. And I promise that someday I WILL continue it. But not yet. Not anytime soon. I wouldn’t call it abandoned, but on indefinite hiatus, and here’s why.
I was a beginner with a great concept, a burst of inspiration and absolutely no plan when I wrote it, publishing chapters as soon as my beta and I were finished with them. I’d never attempted a multichapter story before. I was not expecting it to get as popular as it has, let alone at such breakneck speed. It was overwhelming. Suddenly I had thousands of people clamouring for more. More that I couldn’t give you, because I hadn’t worked out anything else and inevitably ran out of steam. And I still haven’t had time to. Life in general takes precedent, as do other fanfics that I have actually completed and/or outlined and have more motivation for.
Between the drought of inspiration and motivation I have regarding it; the mistakes inextricably woven into what exists of it; the awareness of how many people are waiting on me; and the frequency of comments asking or begging for updates or complaining about me abandoning it, the emotions it fills me with are shame, guilt, stress, regret and frustration. Furthermore, the steep disparity in the amount of reader interactions it gets compared to all my other fics has actually caused me to resent it. It hurts to see that so many people are aware of my AO3 account and like my writing, but only a small proportion of them care about the majority of my output, fics that are usually complete, I judge to be significantly superior to this one and often worked harder on. Most of them are in the Batman comics fandom too. It doesn’t seem fair to me. I’m not ungrateful - I love that any of my fics brings you joy. I am earnestly touched by the praise and compliments on Lightning Bolts and Breaking Clouds. But maybe next time you want to reread it, as a number of comments admit to, try reading one of my dramatically less popular, but perhaps more skilled fics instead if you haven’t.
Readers, I’m sorry. I’m so incredibly sorry that my overconfidence and naivety got you all hooked on a promise I couldn’t keep. I hate it too! I wish I could churn out a wonderful, satisfying story and update every week! I wish I’d kept it as a document and taken the time, done all the difficult work, to have a finished product ready to post! I still daydream about my visions of Jason and Billy and their family! I want more just like you! But I simply can’t get the words out. Asking or telling me to update won’t help, it reinforces my shame and makes me want to be more avoidant. Please don’t do that.
This fic haunts me, and due to my guilty desire to give Jason, Billy and my vast multitude of very devoted readers the story they deserve I have resolved to only get back into it when I can commit to it. When I can do it right: outline and write the whole thing and then confidently commence regular updates. The last thing I want is to raise people’s hopes and then leave them hanging again. I don’t have the time, energy or motivation for that renaissance yet, but I will keep searching for them. Thank you for your time.
The submitter of this poll encouraged any fanfic writer to promote their fics under this poll.
This poll was submitted to us and we simply posted it so people could vote and discuss their opinions on the matter. If you’d like for us to ask the internet a question for you, feel free to drop the poll of your choice in our inbox and we’ll post them anonymously (for more info, please check our pinned post).

I’m making plans to do a completely normal, entirely neurotypical thing: make a spreadsheet and graphs about my OCs and their queer identities, and maybe other traits, so I can see like- the statistics and stuff of it? This is clearly something that is both normal to want and possible to achieve :)
(Prediction: most of them are ace. I already know this. It’s the one I know most about from personal experience, and I just give it to all my faves lol)

hi hi friends! i hope you’re doing well! today, i am giving you my quarter one wrap up for 2024 – filled with all the books i’ve read, a few favorites of those, and all the statistics of my reading these last three months! in january, february, and march i read 20 things! which i am happy about, but i do wish it was a little higher, since i do always like to hit 100 books read by the end of the year, but i was traveling a lot these last few months, and i have nothing really planned until july, so hopefully i am able to compensate a little with 30 books in my q2 post! but now i am getting way ahead of myself, and i don’t want to make this year feel like it is going even quicker than it already feels all on its own, so let’s do a little deep dive on these 20 books that i was able to read! ✨ Q1 STATISTICS (thank you to brock at let’s read, for creating this spreadsheet that i have used for so many years!) i figured that i would show my favorite graph all on its own this time! plus, i think this really encompasses that i have been having a good reading quarter. maybe not the best, maybe i wish for more fives to come, but i really can’t complain too much when more than half of the things i’ve been reading have been four stars! and only one two star which is always a good feeling to see, too! 💕 i normally stick to just showing pie charts for my reading data, but i have been really loving visually seeing my data in this format too. i am very happy with reading over 8k pages over these three months! i also really like seeing that i reread three things, because incorporating rereading books has been something i’ve struggled with in my reading life for a while now. and i also just think it’s cool to see how many pages i’ve read via audio books, as well! (shout out to spotify, i do love you and those free 15 hours every month!) as always, fantasy is my most read genre, but i really have been craving and gravitating to a lot of romance this year so far (and a lot of fantasy romance – which i categorize by what the book feels most like to me between the two)! i’ve also been reading books from my personal library so much this year, which makes me feel good, because i love buying books knowing that i am excited to pick them up soon! i am a little surprised that penguin is my most read publishing house, and not macmillan, but we do love when the graphs are changing up sometimes! but that 5% hachette, probably just because of holly black, is very wild to see. i love seeing these charts and graphs, and they bring me so much happiness all by themselves, but i also love being able to kind of reassess my reading and how i’m doing each quarter because of them! besides really wanting to read 30 books in the second quarter, i would also like to start maybe prioritizing arcs a little more. i have been so good about doing at least mini reviews for everything i’ve read (yes, all twenty things have been reviewed), but i kind of miss reviewing things before they are officially published, too! 🤍 THREE FAVORITE READS OF Q1 (click title links for full reviews with detailed thoughts, feelings, and tw/cws!) ✨ The Vanished Birds by Simon Jimenez heartfelt galaxy brain that truly touched my very soul ✨ The Secret Lives of Church Ladies by Deesha Philyaw maybe my favorite anthology of all time ✨ The Wilful Princess and the Piebald Prince by Robin Hobb the greatest tragedy i’ve read in many years Q1 BOOK HAUL these are all the books that i’ve received since january 1st! well, i did buy other editions of the warm hands of ghosts and the prisoner’s throne, too! but the stack was getting a little too high, so i just added my favorite versions! a couple of these were gifts that i am very thankful for! and a few are arcs sent to me by publishers which i am also so very thankful for! (i have only read four of these though – so let me rectify that asap 😉 too!) okay friends, i think that’s everything! truly, i am so thankful for these last three months and i hope the rest of the ye...

What Mortgage Rate Do You Need To Move?
What Mortgage Rate Do You Need To Move?
If you’ve been thinking about buying a home, mortgage rates are probably top of mind for you. They may even be why you’ve put your plans on hold for now. When rates climbed near 8% last year, some buyers found the numbers just didn’t make sense for their budget anymore. That may be the case for you too.
Data from Bright MLS shows the top reason buyers delayed their plans to move is due to high mortgage rates (see graph below):
David Childers, CEO at Keeping Current Matters, speaks to this statistic in the recent How’s The Market podcast:
“Three quarters of buyers said ‘we’re out’ due to mortgage rates. Here’s what I know going forward. That will change in 2024.
That’s because mortgage rates have come down off their peak last October. And while there’s still day-to-day volatility in rates, the longer-term projections show rates should continue to drop this year, as long as inflation gets under control. Experts even say we could see rates below 6% by the end of 2024. And that threshold would be a gamechanger for a lot of buyers. As a recent article from Realtor.com says:
“Buying a home is still desired and sought after, but many people are looking for mortgage rates to come down in order to achieve it. Four out of 10 Americans looking to buy a home in the next 12 months would consider it possible if rates drop below 6%.”
While mortgage rates are nearly impossible to forecast, the optimism from the experts should give you insight into what’s ahead. If your plans were delayed, there’s light at the end of the tunnel again. That means it may be time to start thinking about your move. The best question you can ask yourself right now, is this:
What number do I want to see rates hit before I’m ready to move?
The exact percentage where you feel comfortable kicking off your search again is personal. Maybe it’s 6.5%. Maybe it’s 6.25%. Or maybe it’s once they drop below 6%.
Once you have that number in mind, here’s what you do. Connect with a local real estate professional. They’ll help you stay informed on what’s happening. And when rates hit your target, they’ll be the first to let you know.
Bottom Line
If you’ve put your plans to move on hold because of where mortgage rates are, think about the number you want to see rates hit that would make you ready to re-enter the market.
Once you have that number in mind, let’s connect so you have someone on your side to let you know when we get there.

Round 4 poll 3: the Bimodal Distribution from statistics vs Casey Murphey from the 2019-2020 Florida Mock Trial case: “State of Florida v. Casey Murphy”
Propaganda:
the Bimodal Distribution
First of all, it's a math concept. that is already pretty bizarre of a thing to be blorbo-ifying. Second of all, I don't know any calculus, and I don't consider myself a math person (because I hate arithmetic), but I really like this guy for some reason. I mean this graph clearly holds the secrets of the universe. don't you just want to l o o k at it . like you could solve everything in the world with that boy
Casey Murphey:
I have a lot of obscure mock trial blorbos but I’m going to start with Casey Murphy because I think they best encapsulate the depths of weirdness some of my blorbo relationships with these characters can get to. So to start, I have never been enrolled in a school in Florida. Or even anywhere near there. I visited a few times as a very little kid, but my schooling has been in the Midwest and the Northeast. I also was not remotely involved in high school mock trial in the 2019-2020 school year. I only know Casey Murphy because I used to be part of an online mock trial group that picked up the case a few years later. In fact, I took Casey as a witness as a joke because I had also been a defendant named Casey in the case we did before State v. Murphy. But Casey is my tragic scrungly. The autism took hold on them. BASICALLY they were a slightly “below average” kid grappling with the huge academic expectations their family had. Specifically, there was a college (Southern Coastal University) that their family had been going to for generations. But when Casey applied, they got waitlisted. They managed to make it in right before the school year started, but they were put on probation because of the short notice. A few weeks into the year, though, Casey was talking to their older brother Patrick (basically their closest friend) and they find out about a secret society called SCU Underground that their family has been in since it was founded. Originally called SCU for Change, it was a student activist group. They learn about some shady things happening at the school and how SCUU planned to combat it by holding a protest bonfire. Patrick invited Casey to the next meeting, and Casey was very excited to prove themself. Later psychological testing showed that Casey was among the most easily suggestible in society, so it’s clear that this was important to them. Here’s where things get unclear. All we know for certain is that Casey bought lighter fluid and vodka (likely using a fake ID considering they were only 18) from a liquor store. They brought those things, along with their laptop, in their backpack to the meeting. There was an argument which ended in someone named Cal Robbins storming out of the old student union building which the meeting was being held in. Then, the building burned down, and Casey came out later than everyone else before being arrested and confessing to burning down the building. The prosecution’s claim is that Casey brought the materials to burn down the building to prove their loyalty to the cause. They might have been influenced by Patrick to do it, but either way they actually committed the act. The defense’s claim, which I find more compelling as a story, is that the lighter fluid was to show that they were prepared for the bonfire, the vodka was as a peace offering considering that they were a new member, and the fire was caused by a projector overloading the old building’s power. Casey ran back in to get their laptop so they could continue their school work, and also didn’t know the layout as well as the returning members, so they came back out later than everyone else. Then they were arrested, treated poorly, and were coerced into a false confession because they were lead to believe Patrick would be found guilty if they didn’t. It’s all just so sad and angsty to me, especially seeing as they were found guilty at the trial I did so I always mentally fill in them being falsely imprisoned at the end. They just wanted to prove themself to their family, to step out of their brother’s shadow, and this is where it lead them. Also here’s my playlist lol https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2ccMwC9xV83ddZoANpejE1?si=nGtWp7MvS7WXJEWLMrBNVw Also also, like most mt witnesses, no canon gender or pronouns which is very cool of them

Adventure into the World of Data Science
In our digital world, two terms frequently make their appearance: data and data science. But what exactly do they mean, and why should you care? Let's embark on a journey to uncover the mysteries of data and explore the fascinating realm of data science.
Chapter 1: Data: The Building Blocks of Information
Data is the lifeblood of our information-driven age. It's essentially any piece of information, be it numbers, words, images, or more. It comes from various sources, like your smartphone, the internet, sensors, surveys, and more. Think of it as the raw material of knowledge.
Types of data:
Structured Data: This type is neatly organized, just like rows and columns in a spreadsheet. Easy to work with, it allows for straightforward analysis.
Unstructured Data: This is the wild and unorganized side of data, encompassing text, images, audio, and video. It's trickier to handle since it lacks a clear structure.
Semi-Structured Data: Falling in between, semi-structured data has some organization, like XML or JSON files, which, while not as neat as structured data, still have some order.
Chapter 2: Why Data Matters
Data is not just a jumble of numbers and words; it's the key to unlocking valuable insights. Here's why data is crucial:
Informed Decisions: Data empowers individuals and organizations to make smarter choices by providing evidence and insights.
Predictive Power: Data allows us to forecast future trends, which is invaluable for businesses and numerous industries.
Personalization: Companies use data to tailor experiences for customers, from product recommendations to targeted advertising.
Chapter 3: The Magic of Data Science
Now that we know what data is, let's dive into data science. Data science is like a superpower that lets us extract knowledge and insights from data using scientific methods, algorithms, and processes. It involves:
Data Collection: Gathering data from various sources, whether it's databases, sensors, or the internet.
Data cleaning: preparing the data by removing errors and inconsistencies
Data Analysis: Using statistical techniques and machine learning to uncover patterns and trends in the data
Data Visualization: Creating easy-to-understand visual representations, like charts and graphs, to communicate the findings effectively
Machine learning: building models using algorithms that can predict future outcomes or make automated decisions
Chapter 4: Real-World Applications
Data science isn't just a theory; it's a practical tool that's deeply woven into our daily lives. Here are some real-world applications:
Healthcare: predicting disease outbreaks and personalizing treatment plans
Finance: detecting fraudulent transactions and optimizing investment strategies
E-commerce: recommending products and enhancing customer satisfaction
Transportation: Improving route planning and traffic management
Entertainment: Crafting personalized playlists and content recommendations .
Data and data science might sound complex, but they're all about understanding our world, making informed decisions, and enhancing our lives. As technology advances, the significance of data and data science will only grow.
If you're eager to expand your knowledge of data science course, I would recommend exploring ACTE Technologies. They offer certification programs and opportunities for job placement. Their team of experienced instructors can guide you through the learning process, both through online and in-person classes. Consider taking a systematic approach to your learning journey and thinking about enrolling in one of their courses if you're interested in this field. I hope this response addresses your inquiry effectively, but please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section. I'm continuously striving to enhance my knowledge.
