Ex-boyfriend Simon, part 24549
You clipped your earrings in, watching Simon’s reflection in the mirror behind you, as he was pacing like a man barely holding himself together. His shoulders were tight, hands flexing at his sides, and his jaw clenched so hard you thought his teeth might crack.
“You didn’t even wait,” he gritted out, his voice harsh.
You grabbed your lipstick, uncapping it slowly. “Not sure what you mean.”
You can feel his eyes burning into the back of your head. “Soap saw you. With some guy.”
You swiped the color across your lips slowly, then pressed them together. Good.
“And?” you murmured, turning slightly, just enough to catch the storm brewing in his expression.
Simon’s breath hitched, his fists tightening. “And I’ll kill him.”
You arched a brow, amused. “That’s dramatic, even for you.”
His nostrils flared, a muscle ticking in his jaw. He looked seconds away from grabbing you, from shaking some sense into you.
“You don’t get to be mad,” you said, stepping past him toward your dresser. “You broke up with me, remember?”
Silence. Of course he didn't know what to say after that.
Finally, he exhaled sharply. “I was a fucking idiot.”
You froze for half a second before shaking your head, forcing yourself to stay focused. Your perfume bottle was cool in your hands as you spritzed a little onto your wrists, pretending his words didn’t make your stomach flip.
“That’s nice, Simon,” you said evenly. “But I have plans tonight.”
His eyes snapped to you. “What plans?”
“A date.”
His entire body went rigid. His fingers twitched like they wanted to wrap around something—someone.
“What?” His voice was dangerously low now.
You smoothed your dress down, unbothered by his reaction. “You heard me.”
Simon took a slow step forward, then another, stopping just inches from you. His scent—leather and smoke—wrapped around you.
His voice was rough when he spoke. “You really think I’ll just let you go that easy?”
You tilted your head, smirking. “I think you already did.”
His jaw tightened, his chest rising and falling like he was barely keeping himself together.
Then—
A sharp knock came from your front door.
Your heart pounded, but you kept your face neutral. You moved toward the door, but Simon was quicker, yanking it open like a man on a mission, shoulders squared, body wound tight like he was ready to swing—
And then he froze.
Your best friend blinked up at him, startled. “Uh. Hi?”
Simon was still. The rage drained from his face in a second, replaced by a confused one. His hands flexed uselessly at his sides.
You walked past him, kissing his cheek before you grabbed your friend’s arm. “Bye, Simon.”
He was still standing there, stunned, when the door shut in his face.
Later that night, your phone buzzed.
🧼: Well??
YOU: He nearly had a stroke.
🧼: Perfect. You owe me a drink.
YOU: Deal.

The Queen of Romantasy and the Race Car Prince - Chapter 6
Pairing: Lando Norris x Elizabeth "Lizzie" Treshton (Original Character)
Summary:
Elizabeth Treshton—bestselling romantasy author, queen of fae heartbreak, and sworn devotee of a carefully structured routine—never expected her service dog to abandon protocol and diagnose a Formula 1 driver with something. But that’s exactly what happens when Mara the wonder-dog ditches Lizzie’s side to aggressively alert to none other than Lando Norris in the middle of a coffee shop.
Warnings and Notes:
Mention of epilepsy, seizures, memory loss, hospitals, vomiting, blood and service animals. I don't myself suffer from epilepsy, so I asked my IRL friend, who thankfully was nice enough to let me ask her all the questions I could come up with. The rest I asked Reddit. So everything that's wrong...that's totally my fault and not on purpose.
As always big thanks to @llirawolf , who listens to me ramble

Lando felt like time was moving far too slowly.
He tried to keep himself occupied on the plane, but every moment felt like an eternity. His brain kept returning to thoughts of Lizzie, the words ‘multiple seizures’ running through his mind on a continuous loop.
He had never felt so out of his depth before. Racing? Sure. Even dealing with fans and the media? That was a walk in the park compared to the knot in his stomach now.
And worst of all, the not knowing was killing him.
He had no idea what Lizzie’s condition was truly like.
Was she not responding at all? Was she in a coma? Was she… was she even okay?
He barely managed to keep it together on the plane ride...The taxi ride from the airport to the hospital felt like an eternity. Lando fidgeted in his seat, his fingers tapping a nervous rhythm on his knee.
Every second felt like an hour. Every minute felt like a decade.
Finall, finally, the Royal Sussex Hospital loomed large, its white walls and rows of windows a stark contrast against the grey English sky. Even though it was May, the cold air was biting at his exposed skin.
As he went through the doors, his nostrils were immediately assaulted with the sterile, clinical scent of the hospital.
"Elizabeth Treshton?" he asked at the reception, Lizzie's full name feeling foreign on his tongue. Did anybody ever even call her that? Lizzie was the name she introduced herself with, Lizzie was what friends and family called her…hell, even all the fans on her instagram account seemed to have adopted that name. Elizabeth Treshton seemed solely to exist to be put on her books and that was it.
The receptionist looked up at him with a small smile. "Yes, she's on the fourth floor. Room 404."
Lando's heart leapt into his throat. "Thank you."
He made his way to the elevator, his mind racing. Fourth floor. Room 404. Four was lucky. Right?
The elevator ride up to the fourth floor was excruciating.
The hum of the elevator’s motor and the faint music playing in the background felt like nails on a chalkboard to Lando’s already frayed nerves. When the doors finally slid open, he practically jumped out into the hallway.
404.
The room number was emblazoned on the sign next to a door partially cracked open.
Lando paused outside, taking one last deep breath to try and steel himself.
Standing outside her room, he wasn’t sure if he was supposed to knock, introduce himself, or just stay quiet until the door magically opened. He debated for a moment, his hand hovering awkwardly for a moment before rapping lightly on the door.
There was no answer.
Silence filled the hall.
And then a voice called out, raspy and weary: "Come in."
Lando swallowed hard, his throat suddenly dry as a desert. With a shaky hand, he pushed the door open and took a single step into the room.
"You're...Lando Norris." His eyes immediately snapped to a man in his late 40s sitting in a chair next to the hospital bed. Lizzie's dad. There was no question about it. He looked just like her.
It was almost more as a statement than a question.
Lando, slightly taken aback, nodded. “Yeah, that’s me. Uh, I came as soon as I heard. Is she...okay?” It was a stupid question, as his gaze fell on Lizzie...dead asleep in the hospital bed.
He wasn't sure what he had expected...maybe more machine's connected to her.
Granted, there were a few…her heartbeat was silently broadcasted to everybody in the room…there was an IV-Line in her hand…and there were also white bandages wrapped around her forearm. They were nearly the same white colour as her skin.
Lizzie’s father nodded, a weary smile on his face. "She’s stable. Hasn’t seized in over a day. But she’s been in and out of consciousness a lot. Not very responsive when she is awake, but the doctors say that’s normal."
Lizzie’s father took a slow, appraising look at Lando, like he was trying to piece together the weirdest puzzle of his life. “I must admit, I expected pretty much anything, but not you, to be honest," he finally said drily. "Richard Treshton. Most people call me Rick."
Lando nodded, tearing his gaze away from Lizzie for just a moment. "Nice to meet you, Rick."
He felt acutely aware of the fact that Lizzie’s dad was sizing him up.
Rick leaned back in the chair, his gaze never leaving Lando’s face. "How do you know Lizzie?"
Lando felt a pang of nerves. "We, uh...we’re friends."
Rick raised an eyebrow. "Friend with the benefits sort of thing, or...?"
The blood rushed to his face. "We had two dates!" Lando blurted out. "We haven't...talked about...labels yet."
Rick raised the other eyebrow, now looking rather amused. "Ah, two dates then. I see. But not...dating."
Lando huffed out a breath. "We’re not not dating."
Rick chuckled, now looking thoroughly amused.. "Right. Not not dating. Clear as mud. Two dates, huh? But you’re already flying across the Atlantic to be here? Even though I am quite sure that there is some partying to be had in Miami?"
Lando felt his cheeks redden even further, but he held Rick’s gaze. “I care about her.” The words felt a little too raw, a little too real, and the weight of them hung in the air.
Rick regarded him for a few seconds. Then a small, tired smile appeared on his face.
"You really do, don't you?"
Lando nodded, unable to find the words to respond. He did care about Lizzie. Deeply.
"Just don’t make me regret letting you near her, okay?” Rick said with a sigh.
Lando nodded firmly. "I won’t. I promise."
Rick studied him for a beat, as if searching for any trace of dishonesty. Then he gestured to a chair next to the bed. “Sit. Might as well make yourself comfortable.”
"Where's Mara?" Lando asked as he sat down, his eyes searching for the dog.
"I made Mara take Tasha out on a walk. She goes crazy when she is copped inside for two long."
Lando blinked twice. "You made the dog take Tasha out on a walk?"
Rick chuckled. "Technically, I told Tasha to take Mara on a walk, and she agreed. Tasha kept terrorising poor Lizzie everytime she woke…besides Mara was hard at work this week, she needed a break too….she was with Lizzie when the seizures started."
Lando sat down in the chair beside Lizzie's bed, trying to process everything he just heard. He had so many questions, but the one that was the most pressing on his mind was, "How did this happen? The seizures, I mean? Did something trigger them?"
Rick’s expression darkened. "She changed medications a few weeks ago. The new one didn't do a particular good job. Clearly." He sighed. "This is the worst it has been in...around 5 years," he said with a grimace. "Around the time Lizzie got Mara, we also found a combination of medications that minimized her seizures from every few days to every few weeks...This isn't normal for her," he told Lando seriously.
"Yes, she has epilepsy, yes, she will always have to deal with it, but Lizzie is normally able to live a a mostly "normal" life most of the time. She hasn't been hospitalised like this since her school years."
Lando nodded, trying to wrap his head around everything Rick was saying. His gaze went down to Lizzie, so small and fragile against the stark white sheets of the hospital bed. He had only seen her mostly healthy and whole so far. Even that evening after the one seizure she had had, she had looked tired, but not…not like this.
She had still been happy Lizzie who was snarky and witty and always ready to dish out a bit of playful banter.
This Lizzie was none of that.
She was pale and still, her face drawn and her body limp. Only the occasional twitch of her fingertips or flutter of her eyelashes indicated that she was still alive.
"Is this...going to happen again?" he asked weakly.
Rick’s expression was grave. "I hope not. Not to this extent, at least. She will have seizures in the future, but hopefully they won’t get this bad again.” He paused, studying Lando for a moment. "This is...a lot. I get it if you want to bail."
Lando’s head snapped up so quickly, it nearly gave him whiplash. "Bail?" he repeated vehemently. "You think I came all the way here to just bail?"
Rick shrugged a little. "No offence, kid, but you’re a world famous racecar driver. You’re known for being a party animal. This,” he gestured vaguely towards the bed where Lizzie lay, "is a whole nother level of commitment."
Lando bristled at that. “I am not afraid of commitment,” he snapped. “ I am not going to bail just because she’s ill.”
Rick just held his gaze for a moment, then chuckled. "You got a hell of backbone, kid. I see why she likes you."
Lando felt a small flicker of pride, but it was quickly overshadowed by worry. "How long do you think she'll be like this?" he asked, gesturing towards Lizzie. She looked so lifeless, so unresponsive.
"Ah, she'll wake up again in a few minutes and ask the same exact questions, she has been asking for the last 3 days," her father said drily. "Who won Miami?"
Lando’s jaw dropped. "Winning Miami is seriously the last thing on my mind right now," he said incredulously.
"Not on Lizzie's," Rick said with a laugh. At that moment, the door opened again. Mara ran into the room, tail wagging, immediately jumping up on the end of Lizzie's bed where there was a blanket waiting for her
Lando watched as Mara lay down on the blanket, head resting on her paws. She looked like she had settled in to stay.
"You owe Mum 10 bucks, Uncle Rick" came the voice of a young women from the doorway. "Hi, I am Tasha."
Lando turned towards the doorway, taking in the young woman who had just entered. She was striking to look at, with shoulder-length blonde hair and bright green eyes. This must be Tasha. LIzzie's best friend.
"Hello," Lando said, surprised to find himself feeling a little tongue-tied for once. This young woman exuded a kind of confident energy that made him feel slightly...intimidated.
Tasha's gaze flickered over to Lizzie's form in the bed, her expression softening for a split second. Then she fixed Lando with a calculating look, head tilted to the side."Huh. So you are the Lando Norris."
Lando shifted uncomfortably, suddenly feeling under the spotlight. "Uh, yeah. That's me."
Tasha's gaze was scrutinising, like she was trying to peer straight into his soul. Then she grinned suddenly, her whole face lighting up. "Damn, Lizzie really wasn't kidding. You are pretty cute."
Lando blushed, caught off guard by how bluntly Tasha was speaking. "Uh...thanks, I guess?"
Tasha chuckled, clearly amused by his discomfort. “Relax. I’m not going to bite you. I just wanted to get a good look at the guy who’s snatched Lizzie’s heart.”
Lando’s blush deepened at that, his heart fluttering in his chest at the thought. He was saved of more interrogation by Mara perking up
Mara, who had previously laid still on the end of the bed, suddenly lifted her head, ears pricked. A low, quiet whine escaped her throat, and she turned her head towards Lizzie.
Lando followed Mara’s gaze to Lizzie’s face, where her eyes slowly fluttered open.
Her eyes were glassy and unfocussed, like she was trying to remember where she was.
There was a beat of silence before Rick spoke up softly. "Hi, sweetheart."
Lizzie’s gaze slowly shifted, landing on her father. A small, confused frown pulled at her brows. "Dad?" she murmured, voice raspy. “Where...what…"
Rick shushed her gently, moving over to the bed. “Easy, sweetheart. You’re in the hospital. You’ve had a seizure.”
Lizzie’s brow furrowed in confusion. "Who won in Miami?" she croaked out.
"The race never actually started. The Miami Dolphins accidentally flooded the track, and now it’s an aquatic event," Tasha said brightly.
…at least Lando now knew what Rick had meant with Tasha kept terrorising Lizzie.
Lizzie slowly turned her head towards Tasha, her eyes slightly unfocussed. For a second, she just stared at Tasha, as if trying to process her words.
"You made that up?" she finally said faintly questioningly.
Tasha grinned, completely unrepentant. "Yep. But the look on your face was so worth it. You looked like a baffled trout."
A flicker of a smile tugged at the corners of Lizzie's mouth.
It was the first sign of life on her face since Lando arrived. It wasn’t much, but it made him feel a tiny bit hopeful.
"I feel like a baffled trout," Lizzie mumbled slowly, "Where’s Mara?"
As if on cue, Mara let out a soft whine and shoved her head against Lizzie’s hand. Lizzie’s fingers automatically curled around her fur. "Hey girl," she murmured.
She looked tired. And pale. And fragile. But still, in that moment, she was the most beautiful thing Lando had ever seen.
"So who's won Miami?" she asked, again.
"I did."
The words were out of his mouth before he could stop them
Lizzie looked up at him. For a second, she looked utterly baffled, like she was surprised to see him. Then recognition dawned in her eyes.
"Lando?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
He nodded, unable to form words in that moment, his heartbeat hammering in his ears.
Her eyes flickered over him, taking in his tired, rumpled appearance. "You're here," she said, her voice filled with wonder.
Lando could only nod, the lump in his throat making it impossible to speak. He felt the weight of Rick and Tasha's gaze on him, but he didn't register it. All he saw was Lizzie.
Lizzie’s hand was still buried in Mara's fur, fingers massaging the dog's head gently. Lando suddenly felt the need to touch her. To assure himself that she was really there.
He reached out, slowly, carefully, as if afraid she would disappear if he was too hasty. His hand hovered awkwardly above hers for a second, hesitating.
Lizzie's gaze flicked to his hovering hand, then back up at his face. There was a beat of silence, a loaded moment, a quiet invitation of sorts.
Lando hesitated for only a second longer, then carefully placed his hand on top of hers. Her skin was cool and smooth beneath his fingertips.
There was another beat of silence, the room heavy with tension. Then Lizzie turned her hand over, fingers intertwining with his. It was such a simple gesture, but it felt like everything. Lando exhaled shakily, squeezing her hand almost without intending to.
Lizzie's thumb rubbed over his knuckles gently, a soft and reassuring gesture. Lando was suddenly hyperaware of every detail about her. The warmth of her hand, the slight chapping on her lips, the circles under her eyes, the faint scent of hospital antiseptic on her skin.
"Either my brain is really scrambled, or you are actually here. Which one is it?"
Lando huffed out a quiet laugh. "I’m really here," he said softly. "Not just a figment of your imagination. I promise."
Lizzie’s eyes fluttered shut, relief and exhaustion warring for dominance on her face.
“You won?” She asked him, her voice slurring slightly.
Lando chuckled quietly, the noise bubbling up in his chest without his consent. "Yes, I won."
Her hand, intertwined with his, twitched slightly tighter at his words. "Really?" she repeated weakly.
"Really," Lando assured her softly. "Finished in first place."
He couldn't tell whether the emotions fluttering in his chest were joy or worry. Perhaps a strange mixture of both.
“I told you, you could do it,” she said simply.
Lando huffed out another laugh, the sound tinged with a hint of disbelief. "Yeah, you did. I should really start to listen to you more often."
Lizzie’s eyes flickered, fighting to remain open. She was losing her battle with sleep.
"You look tired," he said softly, rubbing the skin on the back of her hand with his thumb. "You should sleep."
Lizzie made a small, disgruntled noise. "Don’t wanna," she mumbled stubbornly.
"You need to," he said, his voice firm but gentle. "You need to give your brain a chance to rest and recover."
Lizzie opened her mouth to protest, but a massive yawn cut her off, her protest coming out as another tired groan.
"See? Your body’s betraying you," Lando said with a smile, unable to keep the smugness out of his voice. Lizzie huffed, her expression somewhere between annoyed and too exhausted to care.
Her eyes were fluttering closed, trying to stubbornly refuse rest. But the exhaustion was winning, it was blatantly obvious. Lando gave her hand a light squeeze, bringing her attention back. "You need to sleep," he repeated, his voice even more tender this time.
Lizzie huffed again, but it was a weak sound, lacking any real defiance. She was giving in. "Fine. I'll sleep," she mumbled, her voice slurring with exhaustion.
She shifted slightly on the bed, still clinging on to Lando's hand like it was a life line.
Lando gave her hand another gentle squeeze, a silent encouragement. Lizzie let out a soft sigh, her grip on his hand loosening slightly as sleep finally closed in on her.
Lando watched, his heart feeling both heavy and light in his chest. She looked so small and fragile against the hospital sheets.
"I'll be here when you wake up," he whispered softly, not sure if she could even hear him. But her fingers twitched faintly, a last, desperate attempt to cling onto consciousness. Then, finally, her hand went slack in his, and her breathing leveled out into the steady rhythm of sleep.
Lando felt the tension ease from his body, a breath he didn't know he'd been holding escaping from between his lips. Lizzie was asleep, and it was the best state she could be in right now.
He looked up, suddenly remembering that they were not alone in the room. Rick was watching him silently, his gaze steady and observant.
Lando fidgeted under the scrutiny, his grip on Lizzie's hand unconsciously tightening. He'd almost forgotten about Rick and Tasha's presence, caught up in the intensity of the moment.
Tasha was watching him too, her expression hard to read. There was a hint of curiosity in her eyes, a glint that spoke of protective instincts.
"Relax, kid," Rick said, seeing Lando’s discomfort. "We’re not going to tear you apart."
Lando tried to suppress his nerves, but he felt very aware of the fact that he’s just held their daughter’s hand in front of them. "Yeah, I know," he managed to get out, his voice slightly shaky.
"Mara likes you, so I won't be too mean to you," Tasha said drily.
Lando let out a strangled laugh, feeling oddly reassured by Tasha's words. "Is...is that a good thing?" he asked tentatively.
Tasha rolled her eyes, but her expression was amused. "With Lizzie, it’s the highest form of approval you’re going to get."

Safe In Her Arms
Alexia Putellas x Reader
The sun was shining through the curtains, golden rays warming the room, but you hardly noticed. You sat curled up on your couch, hugging a cushion close to your chest, staring at nothing in particular. The thoughts in your mind were overwhelming, waves of pain and fear washing over you, pulling you under no matter how much you tried to fight them.
The past wasn’t something you wanted to remember. Most days, you managed to keep it locked away, hidden deep where no one could find it—not even yourself. But today was different. The memories were insistent, creeping into your mind like shadows, making your chest feel impossibly heavy.
You didn’t hear the knock at the door. You didn’t hear the soft click of the spare key turning in the lock, or the familiar sound of her footsteps as she entered your apartment.
“Cariño?” Alexia’s voice broke through the silence, soft and full of concern. She closed the door behind her, placing her bag gently on the floor. Her hazel eyes scanned the room, landing on you, sitting motionless on the couch.
You didn’t respond.
She approached cautiously, sensing that something was wrong. Sitting beside you, she reached out and gently placed a hand on your arm.
“Hey,” she said softly. “Are you okay?”
Her touch startled you, and you flinched, pulling away as if you’d been burned. Your wide, tear-filled eyes locked onto hers, the panic and pain in them unmistakable.
Alexia’s brows furrowed, her heart aching at the sight of you like this. “What’s wrong?” she asked, her voice steady but tinged with worry. “What happened?”
You opened your mouth to speak, but no words came out. The weight of your emotions was too much, and before you knew it, tears were streaming down your face. You turned away, unable to meet her gaze, and stood up abruptly, pacing the room with your arms wrapped tightly around yourself.
“She’s going to leave,” you mumbled under your breath, your voice shaky and filled with despair. “She’s going to realize I’m broken. That I can’t give her what she wants. She deserves better, so much better…”
Alexia’s eyes followed you as you paced back and forth, your words breaking her heart. She had never seen you like this before—so vulnerable, so overwhelmed. She stood, approaching you slowly, as if afraid that one wrong move might make you retreat even further.
“Amor, stop,” she said gently, stepping in front of you. Her voice was calm, but firm enough to get your attention. She placed her hands lightly on your shoulders, her touch steady but not overbearing. “Come sit with me. Please.”
You hesitated, but the sincerity in her eyes made it impossible to refuse. She guided you back to the couch, sitting close enough to be a comfort but giving you space to breathe. She disappeared briefly and returned with a glass of water and a box of tissues, placing them on the table in front of you.
“Take your time,” she said softly, her voice as steady as a rock. “I’m here.”
You stared down at the water in your hands, your thoughts racing. You wanted to tell her everything, but the fear was suffocating. What if she looked at you differently? What if this changed how she felt about you? What if she left?
But hiding it from her wasn’t an option anymore. She deserved the truth, and you couldn’t keep running from it. Taking a shaky breath, you began to speak.
“I haven’t told anyone this,” you said, your voice barely above a whisper. “Not my family, not my friends. No one.”
Alexia nodded, her expression open and patient, letting you know she was listening.
“In my early twenties, I was in a relationship,” you continued, your voice trembling. “At first, I thought she was perfect. She was charming, funny, everything I thought I wanted. But… she wasn’t. She was controlling, manipulative. She’d talk me down, make me feel worthless. And when words weren’t enough for her, she’d… she’d hit me.”
Alexia’s hand twitched, as if she wanted to reach out to you, but she stopped herself, letting you continue at your own pace.
“I stayed for two years,” you said, your voice breaking as the memories flooded back. “I was too scared to leave. She had her good moments, and I kept telling myself she’d change. But she didn’t. She only got worse. And then, one night, she came home drunk, and everything escalated. She left in a rage, and I knew I couldn’t stay any longer. I packed my things, and I left. I left her, I left Madrid… I left everything behind.”
Tears streamed down your face as you spoke, but Alexia didn’t interrupt. She simply listened, her hazel eyes filled with a mixture of pain and love.
“For years, I didn’t let anyone in,” you said, wiping at your tears. “I told myself I’d never let anyone hurt me like that again. And then… then I met you.”
You looked at her, your eyes searching hers for any sign of judgment or rejection.
“You made it so easy to fall for you,” you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper. “You’re kind, and patient, and you make me feel safe in a way I haven’t felt in years. But I’m scared, Alexia. I’m scared that my past will ruin this. That I’ll ruin this. I don’t want to be scared of you. I know you’d never hurt me, but… my body, my mind… it doesn’t always listen. And I hate that. I hate that I can’t just be normal for you.”
When you finished, the silence was deafening. You looked down, too afraid to see her reaction.
“Mi amor,” Alexia said softly, breaking the silence. She reached out, pausing to make sure it was okay before gently taking your hand in hers. “Thank you for telling me. I can’t imagine how hard that must’ve been.”
Her thumb brushed over your knuckles, her touch warm and grounding. “This doesn’t change anything for me. I love you. All of you. Your strength, your vulnerability, everything that makes you who you are. And I’m not going anywhere.”
Tears filled your eyes again, but this time, they weren’t from fear.
“We’ll take things at your pace,” she continued. “There’s no rush, no expectations. Whatever you need, I’ll be here. And if something feels uncomfortable, you just tell me. We’ll figure it out together.”
Her other hand gently cupped your cheek, her thumb wiping away your tears. She leaned in, pressing a soft, tender kiss to your lips—a kiss that felt like a promise.
“You’re not broken,” she whispered, resting her forehead against yours. “You’re strong. So, so strong. And I’m so proud of you.”
For the first time in years, the weight on your chest felt a little lighter. You leaned into her touch, letting her warmth and love wash over you.
The two of you spent the rest of the evening talking. Alexia listened as you shared more about your past, your fears, and your hopes. She never interrupted, never judged—she simply listened, holding your hand the entire time.
By the time you finally fell asleep that night, wrapped in her arms, you felt something you hadn’t felt in a long time: hope.
With Alexia, you knew you were safe. With her, you could heal.
She was your person. And together, you could overcome anything.

Your woke up feeling your head was nestled against something firm yet comfortable, and as your senses slowly caught up, you felt the steady rise and fall of Seungmin’s chest beneath your cheek. His arms were loosely wrapped around you, his hoodie bunched up slightly where your fingers unconsciously clung to the fabric.
And then it hit you.
Last night.
Heat crept up your cheeks as the memories came flooding back.
~
You had been sitting right here, on this very couch, knees almost touching, hands fidgeting with the sleeves of your hoodie. The room was dimly lit, the quiet hum of the TV long forgotten as the weight of unspoken words filled the space between you.
“I need to tell you something,” Seungmin had said, his voice unusually hesitant.
You had swallowed hard, heart pounding, already sensing what was coming. “Me too.”
His fingers tapped anxiously against his knee. “You first.”
You had shaken your head, nerves tangling in your stomach. “No, you.”
A pause. And then, in a breath so soft yet so powerful, he had whispered, “I like you.”
Your breath had caught in your throat. “You do?”
Seungmin had let out a breathy laugh, scratching the back of his neck. “Yeah. A lot. And for a really long time.” His cheeks had been dusted pink, eyes flickering between your gaze and the floor. “I didn’t know how to say it. I didn’t want to mess this up.”
Your heart had swelled at the vulnerability in his voice. “You could never mess this up,” you had assured, your voice just as shaky.
A beat of silence. Then, barely above a whisper, you had confessed, “I like you too.”
The relief on his face had been instant, a small, almost disbelieving smile tugging at his lips. “You do?” he had echoed, as if he needed to hear it again just to make sure.
You had nodded, mirroring his bashful grin. “A lot. And for a really long time.”
And just like that, the dam had broken.
~
You had spent hours talking, rediscovering each other in a way you hadn’t allowed yourselves to before. Every nervous laugh, every hesitant brush of fingers had felt like stepping into something both thrilling and terrifying.
There had been giggles when Seungmin had admitted he had planned a whole speech but forgot all of it the moment you looked at him. There had been playful nudges when you had confessed how many times you almost told him but chickened out. And there had been warmth—so much warmth—when he had shyly laced his fingers with yours for the first time.
And at some point, wrapped in the comfort of each other, exhaustion had settled in.
Now, in the hazy glow of morning, you realized neither of you had moved. Your legs were tangled, his hoodie still loosely hanging off your shoulders where he had draped it over you when you got cold. His cheek rested against the top of your head, his breathing deep and even.
You shifted slightly, just enough to tilt your head up, and nearly laughed at the sight.
Seungmin was awake, his eyes barely open, cheeks dusted pink as he stared at you—caught red-handed watching you sleep.
“Were you just staring at me?” you teased, voice thick with sleep.
His eyes widened slightly before he groaned, burying his face into his hoodie. “I wasn’t.”
You giggled, poking his side. “You totally were.”
Seungmin peeked out from behind his sleeve, his lips curving into a soft smile. “Okay, maybe I was.”
Your heart melted at the admission.
Neither of you moved to untangle from each other. If anything, Seungmin’s grip tightened ever so slightly. “So,” he murmured, voice still husky with sleep. “This means I get to call you my girlfriend now, right?”
Your face heated at the way he said it—soft, teasing, but with an underlying fondness that made your stomach flip.
You smiled, squeezing his hand. “Yeah. And I get to call you my boyfriend.”
A real, genuine smile stretched across his face. “I like the sound of that.”
You sighed happily, nestling back against his chest. “Me too.”
Seungmin’s gaze lingers on you, studying your face like he’s trying to memorize every detail. Then, without hesitation, he buries his face against the crook of your neck, his warmth seeping into your skin. “This is weird,” he mumbles, voice muffled.
You laugh softly. “Which part?”
He exhales, the warmth of it sending shivers down your spine. “The part where I wake up next to you, and you’re not just my best friend anymore.” His fingers tighten slightly around your waist. “The part where I get to hold you like this.”
Your heart flutters at the quiet confession. Turning in his arms, you meet his gaze fully, your hand coming up to brush a stray strand of hair from his forehead. “Does it feel bad?” you ask, teasing.
Seungmin huffs, lips twitching. “No,” he admits. His voice softens as he tugs you closer, tucking you beneath his chin. “It feels… right.”
And just like that, wrapped in each other’s warmth, the rest of the world could wait.

@lamentationsofalonelypotato Ooh I've been dying to dig into the next chapter of this fic now that you've made it a little series!! 💚💚💚
"Ready For Love" is playing over the speakers, barely audible over the thud of fat raindrops pummeling the windshield, blocking out the world around you, and sending the shadows racing across your skin where Ben and you are sitting in the backseat.
On one hand, perfect makeout music. On the other hand, Dean is SOOOO freakin' jealous, but it's so frustrating that pushing down his own feelings for her has resulted in him being such a dick to her, before and during this moment. 😫😫
But so far the trip had been less like riding in the Mystery Machine and more like riding with the Griswold's on their road trip to Wally World…
*snorts* I love both of these analogies. 🤣
Dean Winchester hated you, and you had no idea why. So you decided to stop trying to make him like you, because if he was going to act like a total dick he didn't deserve you being nice to him.
Deaaaaaan you complete and utter idiot!! What's even worse is that she did feel that spark with him when they first met, until he opened his big dumb mouth lmao.
The thought often brought the feeling of loneliness stirring in your chest, but you pushed it down, throwing everything you had into hunting. Healthy right?
Lol sounds like the Winchester Way to me. 🫠
Ben's jaw tightens and you know that he's biting back some remark to throw Dean's way, but you pull him closer, trailing your hand over his bearded cheek to keep his attention and gently bring your lips to his. You feel the tension shift from Ben's shoulders beneath the palms of your hands as he relaxes into the kiss, and this time Ben smiles when you pull away, giving your hips an encouraging squeeze. "It was a school or some shit. And there was a billboard for "World's Biggest Beer Can.""
My heart was so torn throughout this entire fic, you have no idea!! The way she manages to pacify him loll. So sweet and sexy in a way, but also, you get the sense that she thinks Ben might just see her as a pretty face, even if he does care about her deep down? It makes you wonder where her heart is truly going to lie at the end of all this angsty love-triangle goodness.
"Hey Benny Wenny, did you miss me?" Her lips curl up in a wide smile when she rises from the throne, her bright blue eyes crinkling around the edges. The air around her seems to sparkle, sending scattered light out into the broken seats.
Oh my God this part was completely unhinged and it was hilarious! But the way Ben decides to "get rid of her" is unfortunately on-brand, not caring enough about the collateral damage, the risk of the reader getting hurt. 💔 Even though he does check on her afterwards, the way Dean protected her has my heart swinging back to him and melting in a whole different way!! 😫 Gah! This is so conflicting! loll don't do this to me, friend. 😂😂
I need to dive right into Part 3 so I get to see what happens between her, Ben, and Dean, and just who will confess their feelings first...

"Can the two of you stop playing find my tonsils and tell me where the hell it is I'm supposed to be driving to?" Dean grouses from the driver's seat while Sam leans over a road map squinting to look at the small print.
"Ready For Love" is playing over the speakers, barely audible over the thud of fat raindrops pummeling the windshield, blocking out the world around you, and sending the shadows racing across your skin where Ben and you are sitting in the backseat.
“Well, if you’d given me a few hours to fuck her at the motel instead of throwing a bitch fit-" Ben begins to say, turning his gaze your face to stare at the back of Dean's head with a lazy smile.
“Dean why do you care?" You interrupt Ben with red cheeks. "I know for a fact worse things have happened in the backseat of your car than Ben and me making out."
"Really? Because I can’t think of anything worse that you and him sucking on each other's tongues and helping the spread of mono." Dean's hands tighten on the steering wheel and his shoulders tense.
He’s more wound up than a tinker toy.
It has been exactly thirty three minutes since Dean's mental breakdown back at the motel when Ben showed up. Furthermore, despite how much Dean had screamed at you at the motel, it appeared that he was still going to act like a two year old who wanted a cookie before dinner.
Sam's suggestion for the four of you to figure out why Ben was here had been a welcome distraction from Dean's spiral. It had prompted all of you to pile into Baby to try and find where it was that Ben landed in your universe and find a clue as to why.
But so far the trip had been less like riding in the Mystery Machine and more like riding with the Griswold's on their road trip to Wally World…
Dean had been supportive of trying to find a solution to what he deemed the "Ben problem," but it appeared that Dean was going to spend every waking minute getting on your nerves.
Honestly, what's new?
You didn’t understand why Dean was so damn argumentative whenever you showed up, it was like he lived to make your life as difficult as possible.
It had always been that way. Since the first day you met Sam and him at Ellen's bar forever ago, Dean had never once said something nice about you or to you.
He always found some little thing to nit pick, whether it be your aim, your research skills, or your technique when hunting and you were sick of it. Each time the two of you worked together, it was Sam's job to make sure it didn't end in bloodshed. Even Cas noticed Dean's underlying hostility towards you and when he asked Dean what was wrong, Dean had brushed him off with a "not now Cas."
Worse was the time that you got hurt (only a minor injury) on a hunt a few weeks ago when you got thrown into a glass cabinet while facing down a poltergeist. Dean had chewed you out for a good twenty minutes and even with Sam's ability to intervene, you'd broken Dean's nose for speaking to you like that, and then rushed off to your room in the bunker before he had a chance to see you cry.
It was the one thing that you never allowed yourself to do in front of Dean Winchester, cry. He didn't deserve your tears, especially not when he was being a total grade A asshole.
When Sam came in later to help you get patched up, you asked him why Dean hated you and Sam tried to convince you otherwise, but you knew the truth.
Dean Winchester hated you, and you had no idea why. So you decided to stop trying to make him like you, because if he was going to act like a total dick he didn't deserve you being nice to him.
You knew that was why you liked Ben more. Ben appreciated you (sort of), he wasn't mean, he listened to you (sometimes), and he did give you compliments… well, they all revolved around the way you looked and that was nice, but just you wanted someone to give you a compliment that had to do with something else. Or maybe just a simple "I see you."
Is that so hard to ask?
Your few flings in the past hadn't been anything special. You didn't have the kind of stable lifestyle that prompted or supported long serious relationships, especially with non-hunters. Not to mention you'd always had this fantasy about meeting another hunter who understood exactly what you went through and what you had gone through over the years. It was often difficult to find a non-hunter who could understand that.
The bunker was the first permanent address that you'd ever had. Your mother had been one of the best hunters in the US, known by all, and you never met your dad, which meant that growing up on the road was the only life you knew. She'd died a year before you started working with the Winchesters which meant that you didn't exactly have anyone that you cared about or anyone who cared about you.
The thought often brought the feeling of loneliness stirring in your chest, but you pushed it down, throwing everything you had into hunting.
Healthy right?
Ben's muscular arm is wrapped around your waist, his hand splayed over your lower back to keep you tight against his chest so there is no space between the two of you, while your hands locked at the back of his neck. You didn't usually like PDA that much, occasionally yes, but you'll admit that you were only allowing yourself to give in to Ben a little more, because you liked how much it annoyed Dean.
Yes, you thought that it was absolutely ridiculous how Dean was acting, but you wanted to give him a taste of his own medicine. Because in all the years you'd known him, you’d never found one thing to hold over his head or one thing that really irritated him, and Ben was working like a charm.
It also felt really good to kiss him, but that was beside the point.
You understood that Dean was having a psychotic break with his constant proclamations that Ben "was him," but you wanted to at least understand why Dean was still hung up on it.
Ben isn't Dean. Sure they have the same face, but Ben is different… isn't he?
When you'd encountered Ben for the first time you had done a double take, but the more you were around him, the more you appreciated the way he treated you differently from Dean. Yes he was a little sexist, but Ben made you feel wanted and Dean had a way of making you feel stupid and often like a burden, as if you'd been plopped on his doorstep like a box of kittens and he was stuck with you.
There was only so much that you could take.
You didn't know what you'd done to earn such hostility. Dean was far from sexist, and you'd seen him interact with other people, it was just you he treated differently and it made you want to strangle him.
"Calm down kid-" Ben sighs.
"Stop calling me that!" Dean turns around to glare at the man next to you.
"Keep your eyes on the road." Sam says, not looking up from the map. He didn't need to.
"What a wonderful suggestion Sammy, but see I can't because I have no idea where the hell it is I'm going!" Dean snipes at his brother.
I swear at this point if Gabriel pops out of nowhere and tells me that this is all just a fucked up dream, I'd believe it.
"Stop being damn hormonal kid, and keep driving." Ben rolls his eyes and moves his lips to your throat, nipping and biting along the flesh visible over the top of your jacket, making you gasp softly and lean into Ben's warm embrace.
Your eyes meet Dean's in the rear view mirror and just for a second you see something flash through them that isn't anger, but it's gone just as soon as you clock it.
What was that?
Dean slams on the brakes and Ben tightens his grip on your body so you don't go flying forward into the bucket seat.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" You snap, curiosity gone, as you glare at Dean.
The tension in the car is high, popping and crackling around the four of you like popcorn. You still couldn't understand why Dean had such a problem with Ben. If anything you'd think that they'd get along a little bit.
"I am not being hormonal or whatever other chauvinistic shit that is about to come out of your mouth." Dean snarls, ignoring you, as he turns and narrows his eyes at Ben. "And I am not your chauffeur. So tell me where the hell it is I'm going so you can get the fuck out of my car and out of my life!"
Ben opens his mouth to retort something, no doubt that'll trigger Dean, but you speak before he can.
"Ben, do you remember anything about where you came through?" You ask him. You were trying to be more diplomatic even though Dean was making your blood boil.
Just because Dean is mad at me does not mean that he gets to take it out on Ben. Ben hasn't done anything wrong. He got sucked into this reality and immediately got pulled into Dean's soap opera.
Ben huffs out a sigh as he turns back to look at you. His gaze softens a little as his eyes meet yours, turning from a dark green to a jade. "There was a building-"
"Oh wow, how helpful!" Dean snarks. "Did you hear that Sammy? There was a building! Mystery solved!"
Ben whips his head in Dean's direction, the air in the car growing hot as Ben's skin begins to heat, but you gently lay your hand on his cheek to bring his gaze back on you. "Dean is an asshole. We all know." You say to Ben, reassuring him and ignoring the look Dean gives you when you say it. "Do you remember anything about the building?"
Getting Ben angry wasn't the way to get information out of him, he was, after all, more like Dean than you were willing to admit. And just as you'd seen Dean get worked over by numerous women, including Bella, sweet talking worked the best.
Well, it never worked when you tried to do it, because Dean refused to treat you any way other than an annoyance.
But two could play that game, especially with the way that Dean was acting right now.
"Okay. We can work with that." Sam says giving you a sympathetic look before pulling out his phone to type something in.
At least Sam is being normal about this whole thing.
Sam and you always got along, from the start he was the older brother that you never had, and it was refreshing. Not to mention Sam was your best and probably only friend. The hunter life was lonely and you found it difficult to make friends anyway, but something about Sam always stuck. He got your abnormal sense of humor, he gave the best hugs, and he stood up for you when things got heated between Dean and you. It was his idea for you to move into the bunker with him and Dean, and also him that convinced Dean to let you move in.
It had taken days for Dean to finally say yes. And when he did, he made you move into the bedroom next to his as if he wanted to keep an eye on you because he didn't trust you.
And as much as you hated living with Dean, living with Sam made up for it. You liked helping him research while Dean bitched and moaned about reading through dusty volumes, liked helping him clean up while Dean followed behind you as if you couldn't be trusted, liked helping Sam try to make dinner that ended up more burned than anything else until Dean stepped in and shooed the both of you from the kitchen so he could make something, and liked kicking back on the couch watching movies with Sam while eating copious amounts of popcorn.
Unfortunately, Dean didn't get the hint that you wanted him to leave you alone so he'd follow Sam and you, crack open a beer, and proceed to give a personal commentary on the movie the two of you were watching, occasionally throwing a look in your direction as if he was checking that you were listening to him. Weirder still was the fact that Dean would do that when Sam wasn't with you.
You noticed that sometimes, that no matter where you were in the bunker, Dean just happened to find himself in the same room. But that didn't mean he would speak, sometimes he would just be cleaning one of his guns or quietly reading through a dusty volume or writing something down in a notebook, but you swore sometimes you thought that Dean was looking at you. Each time you looked up though, he was looking down at whatever else it was he was doing.
It was those moments that made you think that things could be civil between the two of you, and then he'd get on your case for doing something he deemed "wrong" when you knew you did it right the first time as if you hadn't been a hunter as long as he had.
He probably does that because he doesn't trust me.
Dean grumbles something under his breath and turns his gaze back out the windshield, watching the wiper blades go back and forth over the glass, crossing his arms over his chest. Ben frowns and you know that he must have been able to hear whatever it was Dean said.
Why can't we all just get along for five minutes? Is that too much to ask?
"Alright I've got something." Sam says ending the uncomfortable silence in the car. "The World's Biggest Beer Can is in Northwood about ten miles ahead of us."
"Finally. At least someone is pulling their weight." Dean states before he hits the gas, the force throws you backwards into the seat.
Your gaze flicks up to the rearview mirror and notice that Dean is watching you again, but you turn away to Ben who smiles wide and pulls you back towards him for a kiss.
But deep down you can't help but wonder if Dean had been watching the two of you in his rearview mirror the whole time and why he cared so much.

The building that Ben remembers is in fact, an abandoned school.
The roof sags inward allowing rainwater to pool in the front lobby over black and white checkered tiles, the lockers are rusted and thrown to the floor at odd angles making you worry about the possibility of tetanus, and there is an ungodly stench that you can only describe as old gym socks, axe body spray, and unwashed feet.
Ben's nose wrinkles where he stands beside you, and you're sure that no matter what your sense of smell is experiencing it's a million times worse for him.
You press your lips into a tight line, toeing around a puddle of something gray and sticky that you can't identify, but know for a fact you don't want it in your shoes. Your eyes squint into the looming darkness that grows the more you stare down the forgotten hallways.
It’s always gotta be an old creepy building. Just once I want to get to investigate a donut shop or a burger joint or a Starbucks.
"Any of this looking familiar Captain Sexual Harassment?" Dean asks turning with his flashlight to point in Ben's face.
Ben shrugs and squints at the offending light. "I don’t fucking know."
"Enlightening." Dean huffs out a breath. "Well, guess we can split up and-"
Thank God I won't have to listen to Dean mutter things under his breath and freak out.
"Fine." You interrupt. "Come on Ben." You start to walk down one of the dark hallways, but Dean slides in front of you to block your path.
"No way. You're not going with him." Dean waves his flashlight in Ben's face again and you can see the twitch on the corner of Dean's mouth to see how much he enjoys blinding him.
Why does he always have to act like such a child?
"Why?" You demand.
"Because as soon as Sam and I get out the picture, Grandpa over there is going to pull you aside and fuck you in one of the classrooms." Dean says it without blinking, but it makes you flush red in embarrassment and anger.
"No, he's not!"
"Yes, he is!"
Dean is so close that you can feel his warm breath on your face. His eyes are narrowed in anger, but you can see another emotion flick through them so quickly you think you imagined it. It was the same emotion that you thought you saw in the car, but you can't identify it, not yet.
Ben's hand comes down on Dean's shoulder, a wide smirk on his face. "Look kid, I get it. She's fucking hot and I know you think I'm trying to horn in on your action-"
"What the hell are you talking about?" Dean exclaims shaking off Ben's hand.
"You're jealous because she decided to be with a real man instead of you." Ben shrugs. His gaze travels up and down Dean as if appraising him before he shakes his head with a chuckle. "I can't blame her. Someone like you couldn't handle her.
"I could handle her just fine!" Dean snaps back his face flushing as he forces his chest against Ben's, who only smirks back.
What did he just say?
Your entire body goes stick straight in surprise and you turn your head to stare at Dean. In all the years that you'd known Dean he's never once said something like that to you.
Sure there was the night you met…
You hadn't thought about it in years. You'd been back in town because Bobby had called asking you to help out some friends of his on a case and you'd stopped in to Ellen's bar to see Jo. Dean had come on to you and you'd splashed a beer in his face and also maybe pinned him down against the bar. It had been awkward the next day when you found out that Dean and Sam were the friends that Bobby wanted you to help out, but you pushed past all the weird feelings to help.
Dean had flirted with you that night and you will admit to yourself that you thought Dean was attractive before he opened his mouth, but since that night the two of you hadn't spoken about it. In fact, you were both perfectly happy pretending that it didn't happen.
Or so you thought.
Dean's dark green eyes flick to yours in realization. "That's not what I meant."
"Sure kid." Ben's smirk grows to Cheshire Cat proportions.
"Stop calling me that!"
The weird thing was, you'd seen Dean lose his temper, it always flared fast and hot broken up with sarcastic comments, but for some reason this felt different and you didn't understand why. It didn't feel like Dean just getting angry because Ben was getting under his skin, it felt like something else.
"Whoa!" You get between the two of them for the second time in an hour. "If you guys keep fighting like this I'm going to put you both in time out!"
"He started it!" Dean glares at Ben, who doesn't look the least bit upset.
"I don’t care who started it! You're grown men and you're still acting like toddlers. I shouldn't have to separate you." You snap waving around your flashlight at Dean.
"How about this?" Sam sighs from where he stands a few feet away. "I'll go with Ben and the two of you can try not to shoot each other."
"Why can't I go with you?" You sigh to your friend.
"You want to leave them together? Alone?" Sam raises his eyebrow.
Not really.
Sam takes your silence rightfully as confirmation, because the both of you knew if you left Dean and Ben together it would probably be a Thunderdome situation or a reenactment of the WWE.
"Maybe we shouldn't split up." Dean says looking at his brother.
"You scared kid?" Ben smirks. " No wonder she decided to fuck me instead of you. You’re acting like a little bitch."
"You son of a bitch-" Dean finally snaps and launches himself towards Ben, but your hand fists in the back of Dean's leather jacket to stop him from starting a fight that you know he won't win.
It wasn't that you thought Ben was a better fighter than Dean, it was that Ben had super strength and would have no qualms ripping Dean in half. And despite how much Dean annoyed you, you didn't want him to die. Sure he was a jerk, but he didn't deserve that after everything he'd been through, and Sam didn't need to bear witness to that.
"Fine." You say. "Ben please go with Sam."
Ben rolls his eyes and follows after Sam, leaving Dean and you standing in the lobby alone, the only sound the soft plop of water echoing down the empty hallway.
Great. Now I'm stuck with Dean in a creepy old building. It's a dream come true. The stuff of Disney movies.
"Why did you do that?" Dean snaps at you when Ben and Sam turn a corner out of sight.
"You should be thanking me! Ben would rip you in half without batting an eye!" You turn back towards the empty hallway and try to put as much distance as you can between Dean and you.
Distance is good, nice. It means that I can only partly hear his disapproval.
"You don't know that." Dean catches up with you, sweeping the path in front of you with his flashlight looking for holes in the floor.
"Yes, I do. I've seen him do it before."
By now you were aware that there was a chill in the air, it was unnatural, creeping down the hallway in a thin mist that made a shiver crawl down your spine. Dean must sense it too, because he pulls his gun at the same time you do.
That or he's doing it because he's about to go Rambo on Ben's ass.
Because that'll end well…
"If he rips people in half why do you like him so much?"
“He’s not a bad person if that’s what you’re getting at. Ben did it to save me.” You point your flashlight into one of the classrooms along the hallway noting the rotted desks tipped over onto the checkered floor. “He wouldn’t hurt me.”
Ben's world was filled with more than a few crazed individuals, and when you'd been in his universe Ben had stepped in when a supe threw themselves at you. Truthfully, even though Ben did what he did to protect you, watching him pull someone apart with his bare hands made you sick to your stomach. Given what you'd seen, that was saying something. But you knew that Ben wouldn't hurt you, he wasn't that kind of man, and you weren't afraid of him.
“You’ve known him for five days! How can you tell after five days?!” Dean nudges a cardboard box with his boot sending a family of cockroaches scuttling into the shadows.
"Because I can!" Your lip curves up in distaste at the appearance of the roaches and try not to imagine all the walls infested with the little bugs.
You didn't like roaches. Especially ones that all of a sudden developed the ability to fly in your presence as if it were a miracle.
The two of you continue to walk down the hallway, the sound of your footsteps masking the constant dripping noise that comes from the floor above.
Your temper was flaring all over again. You didn't think that you needed to explain any of this to him. Dean never felt the need to discuss his extensive history with women with you and you didn't feel the need to discuss the ins and outs of your and Ben's situation.
"Come on-" He begins to say, but you don't want to hear it.
"Dammit Dean just fucking drop it." You throw your shoulder against a door at the end of the hallway, putting everything you have into it and a little more. You were getting frustrated at Dean's continuous commentary on your life. "I don’t want to talk about this anymore or listen to any of the ridiculous reasons why you think that it's any of your business who I sleep with."
“I think it is my business because you were about to reenact the scene from Titanic in the back of my car!”
“Oh please. I’m sure that you’ve reenacted it billions of times back there. Mr. Saturday Night!” You roll your eyes hitting the door again with your shoulder.
“It’s my car!" Dean shouts, moving you out of the way in a surprisingly gentle way, before he savagely kicks down the door. "I can do whatever I damn well please!”
I wonder if Sam and Ben are having a better time than us. It wouldn't be difficult to.
The door opens with a snap under the force of Dean's kick depositing Dean and you into a large auditorium. The seats are a faded gray and the curtains that hang from the sides of the stage, once blood red, were more of a muddled pink stained with splotches of dark spots and filled with holes the size of the Impala.
Crawling vines and ferns have begun to tangle over the empty seats and over the floors, absorbing anything in their path. The wooden stage is dilapidated and caving in on itself, the boards jutting upwards instead of laying flat as they should in some places from years of water damage. The carpet beneath your feet is squishy and moth eaten, and each step sends another cloud of dust into the air making the room hazy and you cough into your elbow.
"Not to mention he's me!" Dean continues, tramping into the room behind you.
"How many times are you going to say that?" You pinch the bridge of your nose, trying your best to keep it together.
"As many times as I have to, to get the point into your thick skull!"
You whirl around and poke your finger into his chest. "You know what Winchester? You can take all your opinions and shove them right up your uptight ass!"
"The two of you don't get along at all. Odd given how you seem to get along with my fiancé." A bored voice says from somewhere behind you. "But it is a lot more entertaining than I thought it was going to be."
Dean and you both lock eyes and turn to look in the direction of the voice, but there's no one there.
"Um, did you hear-" Dean begins to ask.
"Yes I did." You reply clicking the safety off your pistol.
"Just checking."
"Though I will say, with the way today is going for you and if this is you having a psychotic break, I wouldn't be surprised that you're having auditory hallucinations."
"Shut up." Dean sighs.
"Hello?" You shout, looking around the empty auditorium for some answer, but it remains empty.
Dean snorts. "Now who's craz-"
"Hello?" The voice mocks in a nasally voice. "Wow you're pathetic. I don't understand what he sees in you."
"You call me pathetic, but you're the one hiding. So why don't you come out?" A chair from the front row plucks itself off the ground and hurls itself at your head. You duck and it sails into the aisle behind Dean and you.
"You're not even that pretty." The voice continues and you can imagine a pout on the end of its words like a petulant child who wishes to get their way.
This is so fucking weird.
"Thanks." You reply dryly. "I like to think I've got a great personality."
"You don't." Dean mutters, making you throw an elbow into his side.
A high pitched giggle echoes through the space making it impossible to identify where it came from, until finally a woman materializes on the stage. You blink your eyes to make sure that she's really there.
Her blonde hair falls over her shoulders in perfect ringlets, and she's wearing a bright pink fur trimmed dressing gown. The kind you'd see on an eccentric billionaire's trophy wife who spent most of her day drinking gin martinis poolside while being fanned by cabana boys or the kind that she'd be wearing when she heard of her husband's "untimely demise." There's a silver diamond crown perched on top of her head and she's smoking a cigarette from a long white cigarette holder, while she lounges back on a golden throne.
What. The. Fuck.
"Do you see her too?" You whisper to Dean out of the corner of your mouth.
"You mean Glinda the Good Witch the later years? Yeah I can." Dean replies looking just as confused as you do. "You thinking Gabriel?"
"I thought he was dead."
"He's pretended to be dead before." He shrugs.
"Fair enough. Any reason why he's making us see her?"
"Maybe your new boyfriend has a fetish."
"Hasn't anyone told you that it's rude to whisper?" The woman says, taking a drag from her cigarette.
"Sorry. Um. Who are you?" You ask.
"I don't speak to homewreckers." Her face contorts into a sneer. You watch her eyes shift from Dean to you. "But I'll answer for your friend. I'm Iris, Benjamin's Fiancé."
If pigs could fly right now an entire fleet of them would be taking flight around you. You tried to wrack your brain remembering a single time that Ben said that he had a fiancé or was in a relationship at all, and you can't find a single moment.
Well… today officially sucks.
"Wow. Nice." Dean looks at you with a scoff. "Real nice."
"Hey woah, I didn't know he had a fiancé." You hold up your free hand in surrender. "He never said anything about a-"
"Hey gorgeous. Did you find anything?" Ben says materializing behind Dean.
"You're engaged?" You shout.
"No?" Ben looks confused. "Who told you that?"
You point a thumb over your shoulder to Iris, who is still lounging on the stage completely in her element. She giggles and wiggles her fingers in a cute wave.
"Hey Benny Wenny, did you miss me?" Her lips curl up in a wide smile when she rises from the throne, her bright blue eyes crinkling around the edges. The air around her seems to sparkle, sending scattered light out into the broken seats.
Ben is still staring up at the woman, looking utterly confused.
"You know that freak?" Dean whispers to Ben who is now standing shoulder to shoulder with him.
"Fuck no."
"Well, congratulations Benny Wenny." Dean snorts. "Guess you're getting married."
"I am not-"
"And don't worry, of course I'll be your best man." Dean continues, holding back laughter.
"Shut the fuck up kid!" Ben snaps at Dean, before turning back to the woman on the stage. "Look baby, I don't know who you are but-" Ben begins to say to the woman, who only laughs.
She throws back her head, golden curls bouncing with the force of her body moving, laughing for an unnatural amount of time before she locks her blue eyes on Ben again.
“Stop being silly. We met a few months ago at Legend’s party. We had a few drinks and then you came back to my apartment where we made love for hours-“ Her cheeks blush. “It was sooooo romantic. What I always dreamed about!”
“Um-“
“My parents are so excited to meet you and my little sister said that she’s so happy to have a big brother!” She giggles. “I even made us matching t-shirts to wear on our honeymoon and a scrap book of our children!" She holds up a magenta colored bedazzled photo album that’s the size of a medium sized dog.
Wow she put a lot of work into that.
“Children?” Ben stutters, his voice cracking on the end a little bit. It's the first time that you've ever seen him look afraid.
“What they’ll look like, where we’ll vacation each year, where we'll live, where you'll work-” Her expression turns sour, eyes flashing a dark pink as she glares in your direction. “But then you met that little whore who took you away from me and poisoned your mind.” She points a perfectly manicured pink nail at you. “So I decided to bring you here so you could help me kill her.”
“I’m sorry rewind-“ You say holding up a hand. “You brought Ben here? How?"
"I found a website while I was looking at destination weddings." She shrugs.
"There are websites about traveling through different universes that show up in the search engine-" Dean begins to say.
"DON'T QUESTION ME!" The girl shrieks and the entire room begins to shake.
"And you wanted Ben to be here because?" You haven’t lowered your gun. Frankly you had no idea what her powers were. She looked more like she would start tap dancing down the yellow brick road rather than start hurling chunks of the stage at you, but you needed a plan.
“Because we’ll get to share this moment together.” Iris sighs looking over at Ben again, who is just as shell-shocked as he was a moment ago.
“Killing me?”
Iris nods enthusiastically. “We'll make love on top of your dead body and no one will come between us ever again!”
Dean snorts under his breath and you elbow him again, trying not to think of the image.
Please let this be Gabriel messing around with me. Because if it's not my life is officially a joke.
The three of you stand there for a minute looking up at where she prances on the stage in mixed stages of disbelief.
And just as Iris takes a step forward, a sandbag falls on her head. She crumples to the floor like a sack of potatoes as Sam appears in the wings of the stage looking from her to where the three of you are watching.
"You guys okay?" He calls.
"Yeah." Ben shrugs. "Too bad about her though. She was hot."
He's kidding right?
"The crazies always are." Dean adds with a sigh, patting him on the back.
"I'm so happy the two of you are having this bonding moment, truly I am, but-" You begin to say, turning your back to the stage, but as soon as you do Sam goes flying across the room and into one of the fern plants.
"That was so uncool!" Iris squeals, hovering over the stage, her hands glowing an unnatural magenta color. "Ben and I are meant to be together, we're soulmates, perfect, fated, destined, and no one is going to stand in my way."
The entire room begins to tremble with the force of her anger, dust floats down from the ceiling as it begins to crack and crumble under her powers. You can feel the warmth of Ben's skin as he begins to power up the beam in his chest, burning through the air like a supernova.
There's a crackling sound that comes from above and you look up to see a giant piece of the ceiling falling in slow motion towards your body. Dean shouts your name, but he sounds far away, the sound ringing through the few seconds that you still have left before it crushes you.
But the hit doesn't come from above, it comes from the side.
Dean tackles you, just as the piano sized piece hits the ground where you had been standing a second ago, to the ground, cradling your head in his hands. Your bodies tumble into the moth eaten carpets as Ben explodes, the heat and power of the beam causing more of the room to fall around the two of you.
There's a terrible high pitched wail that's cut off abruptly mid scream and you don't need to be a genius to know what or rather who it was.
Dean covers your body with his and your hands come up under his arms to hold him tighter to you. You bury your face into the warmth of his coat where his throat and his shoulder meet with a whimper as everything around the two of you shudders and shakes. He doesn't pull away, his muscles tensing as he tightens his grip around you, his own face buried in your hair.
The room continues to shake and fall apart in the aftermath of the blast, dust and ash rising in clouds. But you can’t see any of it, Dean's body is shielding you from the room as it crumbles around the two of you, tucking you further beneath him the longer it goes on, making it impossible for anyone or anything to hurt you.
You could feel something curling in the pit of your stomach the longer you laid there under him, an odd feeling that you'd tried to push down whenever you were around Dean, a warmth that begins to spread like wildfire through your body everywhere the two of you are touching. His body is warm and heavy, but it's not oppressive, it lays over you protective and unyielding in the wake of the destruction.
The smell of him invades your senses, a mix of gunmetal, leather, and a spicy scent that tickled your nose. You'd smelled Dean's shampoo before, when it wafted out of the bathroom as you walked down the hallway, imprinting itself in your mind. It was how the impala smelled, always like Dean, and with it brought a feeling of comfort that you'd never known before.
It was odd.
"Are you okay?" Dean whispers, and you can feel the rumble of his words through his chest where it's touching you, his hips laying in the cradle of your thighs. He pulls back to look at your face, the rough grate of his stubble catching your chin as he does so. His eyes are wide with worry and it's the first time that you'd ever seen him look at you that way.
Dust and ash caught in his hair in graying clumps, sticking to the shortened brownish gold strands, the ones that were just a little shorter than Ben's. You longed to run your fingers through, to feel if it was as soft as it looked.
"I think so." You murmur, not used to the weight of his body on top of yours, but you're also trying not to notice how a part of you liked it. "Are you okay?" Your fingertips trail against the smooth leather of his jacket, working up to the back of his head, feeling just the subtle brush of the hair at the nape of his neck.
You don't miss the soft sigh that rushes out of Dean's chest when you do that, fueling the fire that was spreading in the pit of your stomach.
What is happening?
"Yeah." Dean's fingers brush your hair from your face, so quickly that you think you missed it, but the burn of his skin over your cheeks is the only reminder. You gasp softly with the movement, confused as to why Dean was acting this way, why he was worried about you, and why you liked it. Your arms are still wrapped around his body, fingers curled into the back of his leather jacket, but Dean makes no move to get up, he continues to look at you.
You'd never seen Dean look at you like that, look at you as if he wished to understand you, as if he saw you. No one had ever looked at you that way in your entire life.
"Dean!" You hear Sam yell from somewhere, followed by your own name.
It jolts Dean out of wherever his mind is and he gets off of you, but he helps you to your feet, one of his warm calloused hands taking yours to pull you up before dropping it as if he didn't do it in the first place.
The room is destroyed. The roof has completely caved in allowing the rain to soak through the remaining seats of the auditorium and into the musty carpets. The stage no longer exists, all that remains is a black blob of what you're sure used to be Iris, and although a part of you feels bad about the turn of events, you can't help but feel a little relieved.
She was going to kill me. You think to avoid the wave of guilt that washes over you.
"Ding dong the witch is dead." Dean mutters under his breath, but it doesn't make you feel better.
Fires burn over the edges of the stage, small and controlled, but sending rivulets of smoke into the air. You knew it meant that the fire department would be here any minute and that's the last thing you wanted to explain. That and the body on the stage.
Ben stumbles to his feet a few steps away from Dean and you, pushing off a piece of roofing that must have landed on top of him. His suit is covered in dust and drywall, but he looks okay. He's got that far-away look in his eye he always does after he uses his power.
You step towards him to make sure he's okay, but Dean stands in your way.
"Are you out of your mind?" Dean snarls at Ben.
"What the fuck is your problem?" Ben snaps.
"You almost killed us! Almost killed her!" Dean gestures towards you.
"I fixed the problem." Ben rolls his eyes and glances to you, as if trying to reassure himself that you're okay. You knew that Ben might have wanted to only have a physical relationship with you, but you knew that he did care about you in his own way. "You okay sweetheart?" He pushes past Dean, gently touching your face, tilting it up to his. "Did you hit your head?"
"No. I'm okay." You smile tightly at him, but a part of you can still feel the ghost of Dean's fingertips trailing against your cheeks to push away your hair and feel the weight of his body over yours. "Are you okay?" You ask, noting the way his eyes still are a little unfocused.
"Course I am." Ben scoffs. "Takes a little more than a building to bring me down doll."
You nod, while Ben's hand still continues to rest on your chin, and just as he leans down for a kiss, you see Dean's face in the corner of your eye and finally you're able to identify the emotion reflected in his gaze. It's the same emotion that you saw in the car when he stared at you in the rearview mirror. It's the first time that you've ever seen Dean look at you that way in all the years you'd known him.
It's hurt that flashes behind the green eyes you knew so well, shifting to jealousy on around the darkened edges the longer he looks at Ben and you.
And when Ben's lips touch yours, you feel guilt begin to creep along your skin and extinguish the sparks you'd felt moments ago in the pit of your stomach.

Never Alone
Beau and Y/N have been friends since he moved to town. He liked her more than he admitted. And when she didn't answer her phone after he learned she lost a loved one, he got worried.
A small one shot story for my dear friend @jackles010378 just know that I'm here for you. 🤍
The knock at the back door was firm but hesitant, just like him. I barely registered it, my mind too clouded by grief, my body too heavy to move. The warmth of the fireplace flickered across my tear-streaked face, but I still felt so cold.
I didn't hear the door open, but I felt him before I saw him. The familiar scent of leather and cedar surrounded me as soft footfalls brought him closer.
"Aw, sweetheart," Beau murmured, his deep voice tinged with concern.
I couldn't look at him. My throat burned from crying, my chest tight with the weight of loss. But I didn't resist when he crouched beside me, his strong arms wrapping around me without hesitation.
I clung to his shirt like a lifeline, gripping the fabric with shaking fingers as he held me close. His body was warm, solid—safe. He smelled like the outside air, his cologne lingering beneath the scent of fresh coffee.
"Should've called me, Y/N," he said, his voice low, regretful. "Hate seein’ you like this."
I couldn't answer, just buried my face into his chest, fresh tears soaking into the soft cotton of his t-shirt. His jacket was gone now, tossed aside so he could pull me in tighter.
His hand moved up and down my back in slow, steady strokes, grounding me. Every now and then, he pressed a kiss to my hair, murmuring something I couldn't quite make out—but it didn't matter. It was the comfort I needed, the silent promise that I wasn't alone.
Minutes passed, or maybe hours—I wasn't sure. But with each quiet moment, my breathing slowed, the shattering pain inside me dulling just enough.
Beau shifted slightly. "Sweetheart," he murmured, his voice thick with concern. I didn’t lift my head, just kept staring at his chest, my vision blurred with fresh tears.
He brushed a stray strand of hair from my face, tucking it behind my ear. His knuckles skimmed my cheek, his fingers lingering just long enough to make me shiver. Then, his thumb moved, wiping away the tear that had slipped down my skin.
I finally looked up at him. His green eyes, usually so bright with mischief or that easy charm of his, were dark, serious. Searching. He was looking at me like I was something fragile, something he wanted to fix but didn’t know how.
For a second—just a second—I swore he leaned in. His breath was warm against my face, his lips parting just slightly. My heart stuttered, caught between grief and something else entirely.
Then, just as quickly as the moment came, it was gone. Beau pulled back, clearing his throat, and reached behind him. The scent of something warm and familiar hit my nose.
"Figured you wouldn't eat," he said softly. "Brought your favorite."
I pulled back just enough to look up at him, his green eyes filled with something I couldn't quite name. Worry? Affection? Something deeper?
I nodded, my voice barely above a whisper. "Thank you, Beau."
His lips quirked in that soft half-smile he always gave me, but his eyes stayed serious. "Always, sweetheart."
And in that moment, with the fire crackling beside us and his arms still around me, I knew he meant it.
The silence between us wasn’t heavy—it was comforting. Beau sat beside me, his hand rubbing slow circles on my back as I forced myself to take small bites of the food he’d brought. I wasn’t hungry, not really, but I knew he wouldn’t leave until he saw me eat something.
He didn’t rush me, didn’t say a word. Just stayed close, letting me lean into his warmth.
I glanced at the clock. It was late. The kind of late that made the world feel quieter, softer. I hesitated before looking up at him, knowing I shouldn’t ask, but the words slipped out anyway.
"Beau, can you stay?"
He turned to me, his green eyes unreadable for a moment. Then, that slow, soft smile spread across his face, the one that always made my chest tighten.
"‘Course, darlin’," he murmured, his Texan drawl softer than usual. Then he pulled me in, wrapping me up in his warmth, pressing a lingering kiss to the top of my head.
And just like that, I melted.
I let myself sink into him, resting against his chest as his hand resumed its steady, soothing motions on my back. His heartbeat was strong, steady—a quiet reassurance that I wasn’t alone.
I closed my eyes, breathing him in. Knowing hum being here, with me was all I needed to get through this.

Ridoc’s POV
My body ached, and I nearly groaned and stretched, until I felt the weight resting on my arm. Memories from last night crashed through me, blurry and confused due to the alcohol, but when I opened my eyes to confirm them I froze. Y/N was here. She was really fucking here. Looking divine and sleeping like the dead, makeup smeared over her face and my pillows, and head resting peacefully on my arm while she was huddled in the sheets. Good thing too, because there were scattered piles of fucking snow around the room, letting me know just how thoroughly I’d lost my control last night.
You know… Aotrom’s voice rang through my head, teasing and I fought back a groan at whatever smart-ass statement he was about to make.
“Not now Aotrom.” I snapped and he chuffed, but for once quieted as he felt my quickly rising panic.
Not because I regretted anything. Fuck no, I would never regret a single thing about what happened last night. But I knew she would. She was the one who’d run away every time things got too real. She was the one who’d be eye-fucking me one minute and then reminding me, painfully, the next minute that we were just friends. Friends who had now crossed that line and…fuck, just how many marks did I leave on the poor girl?
My eyes washed over her after lifting the sheets gently, and guilt consumed me. Bruises on her hips and ass in the shape of fingertips, bite marks on the top of her perfect fucking breasts and along her neck, hickies covering her from her neck down to her thighs. And gods, her collarbone was deep fucking purple where I remember making my claim on her last night. A moment of particularly eager loss of control where all I could fucking cling to was the thought of making her mine.
Well fuck.
I let out a breathy sigh, and gently pulled my arm from beneath her. She didn’t even stir. My heart ached. Sure, I liked fooling around as much as the next rider. Being always on the cusp of death made one eager to enjoy what life they did have, but this was different.
She was different.
I would gladly give it all up for her, to be able to call her mine. To hold her, love her, absolutely fucking worship her like the goddamn princess she is. One more glance over and I decided. If she was gonna run from me anyway, I would at least make sure she was taken care of first.
It was gonna take a little field trip first though. Let’s just hope he was awake.
Y/N's POV
My muscles ached, my head pounded, everything outside the blankets was freezing, I felt oddly empty, and unconsciousness pulled at me to stay under in it’s tight embrace. Warmth ran along my hips, trying to coax me awake, but I grumbled into the pillows and snuggled deeper, the scent of the unfamiliar bedding soothing me.
I don’t care who’s bed I was in. They could fucking wait for me to be ready to wake up.
I don’t know how long I had fallen back into unconsciousness, probably seconds, but when I awoke, warmth and wetness was running along my aching core and I halfheartedly swatted it away.
“Ngh.” I whined, barely there.
“Princess, gotta let me clean you up okay?” A soothing voice muttered, carefully being quiet. Voice barely above a husky whisper, mindful of my hangover.
I knew that voice. Shit..I fucking know that voice, much too well. My eyes flew open, luckily the room was dark so I could see without adjusting, but I found him immediately. Ridoc.
Shit.
Shit.
SHIT.
He grinned sheepishly up at me, where he was sitting on the end of the bed, wet rag in hand, and cleaning up between my thighs. The events from last night crashed through me, overwhelming me.
How did I actually let this happen? Even with the alcohol?
Fantasies are one thing, fantasies are safe. Fantasies don’t throw wrenches into friendships and throw the easy dynamic of our squad to the fucking wind. Tears pricked my vision, emotion overwhelming me and Ridoc cursed.
“Shit, Y/N, are you hurt?” I met his panicked gaze and my heart ached. I was full on sobbing now, everything too much. I couldn’t even tell him that no, my body ached (deliciously) but I wasn’t hurt. I’d just ruined fucking everything. No big deal right? I shook my head as that’s all I could manage.
“Hey? Hey? Okay.” He threw the rag to the side before scooping me up and pulling me onto his lap. “I’ve got you. Just let it out. I’m here.” He cradled me tightly, my face buried in his bare chest as I sobbed. His hand threaded through my hair, holding me secure and his other arm wrapped around my back, cradling me gently. I flashed back to how he’d held me last night, just like this, like something breakable as he’d pounded into me. I sobbed harder.
“I…ruined….everything!” I wailed and he stiffened, but then continued running his fingers along my scalp.
“No. Princess, shh. Nothing is ruined.” He whispered, voice gentle, and so sure of himself that I had to pull back and examine his face. He was carefully neutral, and so serious that it threw me off, making me stop sobbing immediately. Not a hint of a smirk or playfulness. Nothing.
I’d only seen him this serious one other time. When we learned that Violet had been lying to us and keeping secrets. He’d been so hurt that she hadn’t trusted us. He ranted for days about it when it was just us.
“Yes it is-“ I tried and he shook his head, eyes narrowing on me.
“It’s only ruined if we let it be.” He assured, gulping as I realized he was lightly trembling. Was he…nervous? Scared? He wiped the tears off my face and sighed, like he was trying to get the weight of the world off his chest. “You can walk right out that door now and pretend that nothing happened if that’s what you want. I can handle our friends. No one will say a fucking word if that’s what you need. Just…please…don’t think you’ve ruined anything.”
I opened my mouth and closed it again. Open. Close. Open. Close. What the fuck was I supposed to say to that? Did I want to leave?
‘…if that’s what you want?’
What the fuck did that mean? My head swam, aching, and not in a good way.
“What…what do you want?” I asked, voice small. It was a question I’d been wanting to ask for weeks. Months if I was going to really be honest with myself.
He froze beneath me, as still as the little animal figurines he’d make for me when he was bored. The ones made of permafrost that I’d kept safely tucked away in the back of my wardrobe, the coldest part of my room. I looked up to his face again and he was biting his lip, terror in his gaze. I realized it then.
He hadn’t expected me to ask. That much was obvious. My heart broke as I realized he’d really expected me to run. To throw what happened last night away, chalk it up to a lapse in judgement, and try to forget about it. He hadn’t predicted I’d ask him what he wanted, that I’d care enough to ask.
But I couldn’t just throw last night away without at least asking him. Sure, it was easily the greatest sex of my life…but it was more than that too. The tender seconds, thrown in amongst intense pleasure? The way it was so mind altering, not because of what he was doing, but because it was him. The way he’d reduced me to absolute, fucking, delirium where all I could comprehend was Ridoc? No. It didn’t matter if my instinct was to run, to forget everything, to laugh it off and ignore our friends teasing until they eventually forgot about it too.
I knew with aching clarity that I would never be able to.
I had to stop running from him.
I had to put myself at his mercy if I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life with the constant question of what could have been.
He was quiet, until he shook his head lightly, making my heart stop and fear clutched my throat, choking me. “I can’t…”
“I can’t tell you what I want.” His words were whispers as his thumb ran along my jaw, eyes anywhere but meeting my own. His eyes finally found the courage to meet mine and they went soft. “Don’t look at me like that.” He laughed, short and hollow, the sound suspiciously resembling my previous sobs.
“I can’t tell you because then I’ll never be able to let you go. To let you walk away and protect your heart how you need to. I can’t tell you because then last night was real, not alcohol induced horniness. Not a mistake. Not two friends dancing over the line of being something more.” Frustration creeped into his voice and I clung tighter to him as he fucking glared at me now. “I can’t tell you because I know with fucking certainty that you’re gonna decide to throw me away like everyone else does. And if I let myself be vulnerable for a fucking second it will destroy me Y/N. You will destroy me. So no, I won’t tell you what I want. I’ll wait for you to tell me what it is you want and do whatever I need to with whatever you give me.”
My heart raced at the painful truth in his words. The following words left my mouth with aching certainty before I could even think them.
“I want you Ridoc Gamlyn.” He froze, the anger that had crept up gone, and his mouth fell open in shock. I continued, “I can’t pretend. I’m sorry but I can’t. I just…I’m sorry for crying…for scaring you…I just, I woke up and I remembered and I thought that you’d hate me for what we’d done. Or that I’d let feelings get involved and I’d have to watch you just…I don’t know…move to the next pretty face…and I’d have to bitterly watch and pretend to be happy for you…and it would just ruin everything with the squad…and fuck this is all hurting my head too much Ridoc.” Fresh tears streamed down my cheeks and Ridoc sighed.
A small smile creeped on his face as he wiped away my tears again. “I knew you liked me.” Then his grin was teasing, and my heart lurched.
My Ridoc was back, sitting underneath me, quickly beginning to grin like a fool. Eyes drinking me in so warmly that I had to hide my face in his chest to cover the heat creeping up my cheeks. I squealed in surprise when he suddenly lifted me, and erupted in giggles when he gently plopped me back down on his pillows.
“Ridocccc.” I groaned, shooting him heatless daggers as he went back to where he’d been between my legs when I’d first woken up. He laughed and picked up a small tub of what looked like some sort of tincture. In fact he had a few different unlabeled containers piled to the side on his bed as well as a fresh set of sweatpants that I recognized as my own. “What are you doing?”
“Taking care of you Princess. After care is important, I know it’s a little…delayed…but I’m still a gentlemen.” He flashed me a grin, before gently tossing a water canister next to me, within reach. “And I feel a little bad, I was a little…eager…to finally get my hands on you.”
“I remember.” I giggled and he laughed, gesturing with a nod and an absent hand wave to look at myself. I did, my eyes widening before warmth crept between my thighs. Remembering just how good it had felt when he’d made the dozens of marks that now covered my body. My thighs clenched at the memory and he laughed, lighthearted, despite the satisfied smirk on his face.
“You should see your neck, if you think that's bad.” He chuckled, before opening the little tub in his hands. “Drink your water. Bodhi leant me this bruise cream-“
“Bodhi? Why does Bodhi have bruise cream laying about?” I asked incredulously and his ears turned light pink.
“Dude’s into some kinky shit…anyway-“
“Why do you know that?!” I asked and Ridoc sighed, looking anywhere but my face as he began rubbing the cream on my skin, and I couldn’t help but relax at the soothing warmth.
“Just drink your water woman. Goddamn…too early for so many questions.” I hummed in response to his embarrassed mutters, but my throat was scratchy and water sounded amazing.
So I sipped the water, as Ridoc gently massaged the tincture into my skin. I relished in his touch and then he was slipping a fresh pair of panties and the pants onto my hips. Then he moved upwards, straddling my waist as he applied more tincture.
We didn’t speak, didn’t really need to, as I watched him with affection in my gaze. He’d gently kiss over some marks, soothing almost as well as the tincture would. When he was finished he slipped one of his own shirts over my shoulders, the fabric soft, and practically drowning me in its size. It smelled so much like him though that I couldn’t complain.
And then he was cleaning off my makeup after grabbing another container, that I finally recognized as my cleanser. He didn’t stop there though, applying my moisturizer and spf as well, nearly bringing tears to my eyes as my chest filled with emotion. He handed me a muffin without a word; blueberry and dusted with sugar on top, my favorite, before sitting me up and beginning to gently comb through my hair. He pulled it into a haphazard ponytail before slipping out from behind me as I munched on the muffin, thankful that the churning that had begun in my stomach lessened. He then moved around me, grabbed my boots, and sank to his knees in front of me, making my heart race.
“We going somewhere?” I asked softly and he nodded, a pout covering his lips.
“As much as I’d like to keep you locked in here all day, doing everything that I’m now allowed to do to you…” His gaze heated for a moment before he gave me a single peck on the lips, sighing sadly, “Our friends haven’t seen us since last night, its nearly lunch hour, and you need something more than a muffin to get your energy back.”
I whined, wanting his lips back and he chuckled, giving in and giving me one more chaste kiss before working on my boots. Slipping socks on, then tugging the boots on and deftly tying the laces. Then he was off me completely, and pulling his own shirt on, much to my dismay.
“If we have to.” I pouted as I stood, immediately falling back down again. The ache between my thighs catching me off guard and causing Ridoc to laugh. “What did you do to me?!”
“Don’t worry Y/N,” He teased, pulling me up into his arms. “I’ve got you."

spoilers! this is based of caleb’s story line in abyssal chaos, some dialogue from the game is included.
wavering heart - love and deepspace (if you go into the lads soundtrack playlist, every song after wavering heart also hurts while reading this! :D)
“cut the shit caleb.”
the inkling suspicions that you’ve been having this whole mission have finally bubbled over as you watched him meticulously tap away at the control room’s computer. his expression remained calm as he continued to pull up a bunch of files.
“are you here as caleb? or as the farspace fleet colonel who must carry out a mission?”
“what do you mean?” he responded, turning his attention toward you. you squinted your eyes in disbelief. there was no way he was trying to play innocent with you right now.
“what do i mean? do you want me to list off every single weird instance that’s happened today?” his expression was neutral, but you could tell that his jaw was clenched. you held up your hand, holding your pinky to begin counting them off.
“first off, that badge you had when you searched the closet that you said you “put there yourself–”
“i wasn’t lying to you–”
“that’s not the fucking point, caleb!” he immediately shut his mouth, surprised by how you were speaking to him. your jaw clenched as you attempted to take in a deep breath to calm down. this man who you claimed to know your whole life felt like a complete stranger inthis moment…maybe you never really knew him at all.
“you 'luckily' found this elevator down to this basement, you led me into this control room and had the key to it.” you started to spiral. all the thoughts that you pushed aside were now coming to the forefront, and they were all screaming at you. he didn’t join you on this mission as a friend who was worried about you, he joined you as colonel caleb. he knew that you were going on this mission and did his research beforehand. the layout, the offices, the keys, the guard– he was already 10 steps ahead of you and he just played along with your antics.
you felt your throat beginning to close and the tears stinging the corners of your eyes as the confusion began to take over. you opened your mouth to speak but the words refused to come out. caleb was watching you the whole time and while yes, this was his agenda the whole time, he never took into account that you would find out. he reached out to you but you backed away from him, lightly knocking his arm away.
“please caleb…” your words could barely be heard over the whirring of the computers in the room. he wanted to be swallowed whole. he’s seen you look at other people this way, but never at him. a look of pure confusion and hurt, all on his part. he put out his arms with caution, trying to explain himself.
“my goal has always been the same as yours: to bring peace to this place.”
“yes caleb, but at what expense? going behind my back? lying to me and telling me that you were worried about me–”
“i've never lied about being worried about you.” he was firm in this statement. it may have seemed like something he said in the moment, but caleb was always genuinely worried about you and your safety.
“caleb.” you took a step towards him, lightly taking his hands. you felt defeated.
“i’m a hunter. this is my job, this is what i do for a living. i choose to do this, willingly.” he got dangerously close to your face as he looked you right in the eye with a solemn expression.
“and it kills me everyday knowing that you did.” you felt your heart sink to your stomach as he backed away from you. he placed his hands on the desk with his head down, trying to control his erratic breathing.
“i can’t protect you like i promised.”
it’s like the ground was falling from underneath you. caleb was perpetually proud of you and your accomplishments, but it all made sense now. he was always apprehensive about you becoming a hunter, but he pushed it down knowing that’s what you wanted to do with your life. whenever he saw you in your hunter uniform, there was always a tinge of something in his eye that you couldn’t put your finger on. now you know that tinge was his anguish.
“...and what if i don’t need protection anymore?” a single laugh choked out of caleb’s lips. he felt crazy. he was confident that he was someone that you could rely on and if he didn’t have that, then what did he have? he couldn’t look at you, knowing that you had that expression on your face, but he wanted to see you– he always did. he turned to you, leaning his weight on the desk as he didn’t trust his legs to move.
“then there was no point in me coming back.”

These days it really felt like you went to school just to wait to go home.
Your teachers’ voices tended to drone on in your head, but you never really heard anything. Just the soft tick of the clock on the wall—waiting for the next bell to ring until the last one chimed and you could walk out of the door and carry yourself home.
It had been like this for a while now.
You used to enjoy school, the learning, the friends, but lately with so many classes and the pressures to do well and maneuver life, things got hard. Things got muddled. Your own inspirations and motivations fogged over, leaving you barely picking up a pencil.
Today was no different, a sigh leaving your lips as the last bell rang. It felt like you’d been holding your breath all day. Gathering your bag, you start to leave the classroom, abandoning the chemistry lab to start your walk home.
“Hey, ___, wait up!” You hear. A familiar voice, one who always drew you out of these odd days.
Turning, you couldn’t help but smile a little as you see Hyunjin jogging over to catch up with you, a warm and excitable smile on his own face.
“Hey..” You say, slowing your steps to fall in line with his own.
“Do you wanna hang out today?” He asked, his voice warm and presence next to you even warmer.
Alas, you frowned and sighed, turning your eyes to the sidewalk as it moved along under your feet.
“I.. I really need to catch up on some work.” You admit, the weight not quite off your shoulders. You’d been pushing back your assignments, leaving them until the last minute to turn them in with half-hearted effort later.
Hyunjin, however, seemed to know that you really wouldn’t work on it at home. So he pressed, “Me too,” a grin brightens his face again, a hand coming to tug a strand of your hair gently. Teasing, like always. “We can work together if you want.”
Your face grew a little warm at that. Maybe a study buddy was the motivation you needed…regardless, the company would be nice. So, you relented and nodded, a small smile gracing your lips as well.
“Alright, sure..”
⊹₊⟡⋆。°✩。°⋆⊹₊⟡
The walk home to your house wasn’t long, and the air slowly chilled on your skin. Hyunjin followed you into your home, where the warm air was a relief. Toeing off your shoes and sweaters, you took him upstairs to your room.
You felt your face grow hot immediately after you opened the door—it had grown a bit messy, your lack of motivation following you home even to your comfort space.
“Sorry.. um….” You started to pick up the clothes strewn about your room, the messy textbooks that littered your desk.
But Hyunjin just smiled and chuckled, shaking his head and going to sit down on your bed comfortably. “Don’t worry about it—my room looks worse.” He assures you.
The thought was..comforting, to say the least. Maybe you weren’t the only one struggling these days.
Going to join him on your bed, you sit crisscross in your uniform, taking out your notebooks and assigned homework. You already felt reluctant to do it—but a blanket draping over your lap interrupts your thoughts.
Hyunjin had draped it over your legs with a polite smile, speaking softly again to you. “Here, it’s pretty cold.”
His eyes seemed to admire the rosiness in your cheeks whenever he treated you so kindly. Turning away again, you both quietly got to work on your respective assignments. For some reason, just having him next to you, knowing he was there, made you feel..a little better. Your pencil moved across the page easier than it had in weeks, and anytime you paused, Hyunjin leaned over to offer his advice.
Before you knew it, you had finally finished a whole paper. Before the day it was due.
Hyunjin smiles and takes it from you, pretending to look it over while rubbing his chin.
“Mhm..mhm.. looks correct.”
You can’t help but laugh out loud at his “teacher” impression, snatching your homework back. “Okay okay whatever.. like you can do biology calculations anyways.”
“Hey! I helped you, didn’t I?” Hyunjin quipped back, grinning and laughing with you.
The sun had fallen just on the crest of your window, the room becoming a dull, warm shade of marigold. Your eyes drew to the clouds and neighborhood resting out your window, and let out a soft sigh. This might’ve been the most relaxed you had been in.. a while.
It was nice.
Hyunjin nudges you after a bit of quiet, his smile softer. “You okay?”
A tiny smile tugs the corners of your mouth. You nod in return, “Yeah.”
With that, he seems to almost relax. He worried about you, even when you didn’t notice it.
An arm suddenly and gently comes around your shoulders, and he pulls you into his side. It surprised you, but it wasn’t unpleasant..
Despite the blush in your cheeks, you pressed your head into his shoulder, letting him rub your arm up and down in a comforting motion. You glanced down into his lap, where his sketchbook had sat.
Your fingers couldn’t help but reach out, tracing the lines he’d drawn. It was your room, sketched just as it was. But he made it look..beautiful.
He smiled sheepishly, watching you appreciate his light sketches.
“Sorry.”
You lift your head now, raising your brows to him. “For what?”
Hyunjin just smiled more, looking embarrassed.
“Well, I.. didn’t have any work to do. I just.. missed you.” He admits.
A little part of your heart swells at that. You give him a gentle nudge with your shoulder before settling your head back onto his shoulder. “..stupid.” You mumble.
He chuckled at that, giving you a little squeeze of a hug.
“Yeah… Stupid.”
Thank you so much for reading! I will be taking more requests if anyone is interested!

I'm also going kind of insane over the romance description for Solas in the customise Inquisitor section of the CC. Like what do you mean 'even the Dread Wolf did not know what it would mean to fall in love'?? I'm frothing at the mouth!!!!
I mean, now it's had a few months to stew, it actually makes perfect sense. Solas doesn't seem to forge relationships in the same way as an elf as he did as a spirit. We know he loved Mythal and Felassan, but his relationships with both had rather different dynamics. Mythal had known him for the longest, and understood his spirit nature better than anyone. They spent a long time reflecting each others' spirits back and forth. Felassan we can assume was another Wisdom spirit (going by his eye colour), which once again tracks because Solas seems to connect with other Wisdom spirits very intensely. Nonetheless, there's a distance between them; they need each other and they share a common cause, and although Solas loved Felassan dearly, he was still able to kill him in The Masked Empire.
However, the thing that these two relationships have in common is that they both relate to Solas's spirit-self. All the dynamics are some kind of echo of how he behaved and related as a spirit. The person he is at the beginning of DAI is who he has been for a very long time. He is, despite everything, a little stagnant.
With the Inquisitor, he literally doesn't have a choice but to change, to connect not just as a spirit but as a man. Prior to that though... remember how spirits are asexual, like Cole is if you don't make him more human? Yeah. I don't doubt that Solas had physical relations with others after manifesting, but I think the feelings would've been absent as he doesn't connect romantically with them; a legacy from his spirit self, which he clings to dearly.
Weirdly enough, I think that this lack of romantic or relationship experience is what the romance in Inquisition actually hinges on. He's only able to take that chance specifically because he doesn't know what romantic love feels like. He may be a manifested Wisdom spirit, but this is something that must be experienced to be understood. He takes the chance in the end because he doesn't know how deeply it will affect him. Also as Wisdom, he can't help but be curious anyway. Clearly he underestimated how much of an impact it would have on him. He didn't expect to be known and loved so fully for who he was, after a life of being forced away from his purpose, who he truly wanted to be. To be given the space to exist as Wisdom is one thing, and certainly it would've been enough for him to maintain his love for his friends in the Inquisition alone, but to be loved for it? To be able to express these new, very earthly and yet somehow still spiritual feelings of love? Everything lining up, singing the same? Things he could never have experienced as a spirit? It's a union of the spirit and body that he likely never felt before. That has to have been overwhelming, a beautiful gift he never expected to receive. 'In all Thedas I never expected to find someone who could draw my attention from the Fade'--quite literally, 'I never thought I would want such an earthly thing'. I'm not surprised he almost threw away his plans for it. It's like a whole new world opening up.
It also makes his 'I would not have you see what I become' line more poignant. He doesn't want this beautiful, unique thing he's found to be marred by the actions he will take. He doesn't want his heart to see the wounds in his soul. So when the Inquisitor says they want to join him, it literally stuns him. When he warns them that he's got a lot of terrible things waiting for him in the Fade, it's his last, weak attempt to make them reconsider before they see the wounds on his soul laid bare. By responding that it won't be so bad if they're with him, the Inquisitor is also saying that being together will heal him, that those wounds will not be so terrible when shared.
That line from the elven poem Trick wrote from Solas to Lavellan: 'do not be sad, my heart, our love's endurance is a blessing, our love will be our joy' everything is so new to him brb crying :'<

“that’s what it was, yeah…” alex absently agrees, nodding his head and sucking on his still bleeding lip. a fresh wave of guilt fills his heart and he hears himself saying, “i think most people are just jealous of you. you have everything, helena.” and it’s no excuse for bullying, but in a way it is an explanation. “i can only speak for myself and although i don’t see you as a rich, entitled brat, i am very much jealous of what you have. and i’m not even talking about the money, that doesn’t mean much to me.” even though, it must be nice to never worry about getting a job or wondering how you’re going to pay the rent. “you were right about me. i wish i had a dad like yours. yours wants to give you the world while mine doesn’t even know when my birthday is.” shoulders shrugging faintly underneath the puffer jacket like it’s no big deal, eyes flickering back onto the road when they begin to sting. “and so people attack your family or your upbringing because they’re jealous, but believe me, if given the opportunity, they’d swap lives with you in a heartbeat. you’re not a horrible person.” he glances down at her hand lingering on his skin, butterflies fluttering in the pit of his belly, making him simultaneously nauseous and infatuated.
“is that a hammer? what were you planning to use it for?” he laughs dryly, somewhat amused by the contents of his friend’s pockets but still very much disgusted with himself. but the mere memory of their very first meeting has his features softening, a gentle smile tugging at the corners of his lips, causing the wound to reopen. not that it bothers him. he feels so warm and tingly, confused feelings brewing deep inside. “you saved my life that day, i’m not even kidding.” maybe in a way he’s managed to pay his debt tonight by disarming harry. “oh, then i’ll get mine virgin, too. i’m not much of a drinker. i’m actually pretty famous for always bringing a book to the bar. that’s my thing.” it’s very kind of her to offer him a ride back home, but the bar that he has in mind is only a few blocks away from his apartment so there will be no need for that. “yeah, of course,” he agrees, focusing on driving and turning the radio on so that it can fill the silence between them. katy perry’s old song is playing, the one that got away, and alex finds himself sinking his teeth into his busted lip to keep from getting emotional. stupid song.
they circle the block a few times before alex finds an open spot, right outside the small corner bar that he’s been telling helena about. its neon sign flickering half-heartedly, but there are quite a few people inside. this place is the opposite of that fancy lounge, its patrons stink of vodka and cigarettes and don’t drive rolls royce, but maybe that’s exactly what they need. a change of scenery. the black mustang pulls in, barely fitting between two beat-up sedans. “alright, here we are,” he mutters, cutting the engine and unbuckling his belt before climbing out into the cool night. he circles the car and opens helena’s door for her, offering her a hand, but doubting she’ll be willing to take it. the air around them smells like wet concrete and distant food trucks, but at least the hum of traffic has all but faded away. inside the bar, it’s warm and dim, which alex figures works in their favor — at least no one will ask questions about their faces. does it look like they were in a domestic brawl? probably. he leads his friend over to the wooden bar, helping her slide into a high stool. shoulders brushing as he takes a seat beside her. he orders them a round of some fruity beverages, virgin. and when the bartender places two glasses in front of them, with sugar-dusted rims, he doesn’t even realize the guy didn’t hear the last part. there’s rum in their strawberry daiquiris, but as he takes a sip, he can’t really tell a difference. “so… what a night, right?”
"i've took a lot of self defense classes and such, but i don't think that was it. i think that was just anger talking, i just had enough of being called a rich entitled bitch. like i'm some horrible person for things out of my control, i can't help who i was born to." another curse word she'll repent for. but remnants of anger are still left soaring through her, when you have been judged for it your entire life you finally realize you're not going to take it so lightly anymore. "no." she answers, she doesn't know who she is. but she's guessing she's someone who frequents the lounge looking for what she got tonight... or was. since she's sure she and alex have ruined their mood.
dumping her pockets of all the tools she had them filled with... screw driver, taser, mini hammer, phone. head turns towards him when his fingers touch her cheek, setting off an unwanted spark to burn beneath her chest. "i do have one." a first-aid kit, that's always a number one thing to have. "ever since you needed a walgreens trip, i've been inspired to keep one." helena would laugh, almost there with the start of a smile at the fond memory, until the said memory fades along with the smile that was just beginning to bloom across her face with ache because that was before everything he said to her tonight that's made her view him as a different person. words are not quickly forgotten, unfortunately. and now everything's tainted. even her favorite memories of him.
"let's go there, then. i'll get mine virgin though." not telling him it's because she's never drunk before, he'll make fun of her for it. "you'll need someone sober to drive you afterwards." she claims, pretending the tears stinging her eyes isn't because of the memories being tainted. blaming it on the cut across her jaw. "watch the road, i'll be okay." fingers gently wrap around his hand, slowly removing it from her face even her touch lingers a little extra longer against his skin before letting go completely.

you haven’t interacted with keisuke much. barely at all, actually. you’ve seen him once or twice. he’s not someone close to you. not someone as easy to talk to as mikey’s other friends. you’ve never had any relations with him, neither conflict nor a tender moment. he was just… there. always in the corner of your eye, always somewhere in your line of sight.
that shouldn’t matter much. it wouldn’t have. you’ve seen a great deal of good-looking men in your life — not a single one quite as unique and appealing as he is, but… attractive still. there was certainly something special about keisuke, no doubt. you felt a sense of exhilaration when he came by. possibly the fact he can snap your spine in a heartbeat if he so wished.
i’d tell you he would never do that. that he’d never be cruel to you, but he would be. he has been. he is.
after the first time you met, he started lingering. you saw him far more often, he was like a phantom. right in your vicinity, just out of reach. you thought your interaction with him would go nowhere, he’d leave you alone and forget about your existence for the rest of his days.
but he didn’t. in fact, he approached you. multiple times. and it got nastier. every. single. day.
he’d shove past you, not even bothering to apologise. you weren’t the first person he’d look at in a room — you didn’t realise it so. the way he’d speak to you, condescendingly and sharp as if you’re some nuisance, it hurt. he’d roll his eyes the instant you open your mouth and he took a sick amount of pleasure in seeing that dumbstruck, disappointed look on your pretty face.
conversations with him were short. they always left your mind bleeding, racing. he was unpredictable. you wanted to figure him out. you had to. but it was so difficult, because keisuke is not as simple a man as most would think.
his subtle torment on you started the third or fourth time you’d met. you were with a few mutual friends, hanging out and having a decent time. keisuke went to get some drinks for everyone and he’d purposefully spilled yours on your clothes, apologising so half-assedly that mikey himself was a little shocked he’d be so impolite to a girl.
what no one realised at the time was that keisuke wanted a glimpse of
you. sure, he’d stalked you a little before, but he hadn’t seen your bra in such a… lewd fashion. he just wanted to humiliate you as well. ‘what a slut,’ he’d think, ‘wearin’ a bra like that in front of everyone. who the fuck does she think she is?’
and as soon as that thought clicked in his head, he knew something.
he felt far too amused at your suffering. it made his heart which many thought to be good, skip a beat. he couldn’t bring himself to feel remorse for it.
that look of embarrassment on your face, the shame. he needed to see more. he had to recreate it.
so he did, over and over, with new methods each time, until one day… he had the perfect leverage.
you were hooking up with some guy. unnamed, a loser no one gave a shit about. he wasn’t the point of attention, however. you were. and keisuke just had to grab this opportunity it, hold it over your head. the guy was recording. you really were such a slut, letting him do that with no qualms. no smarts at all, how naive. although seeing you have something so intimate with another person annoyed keisuke beyond belief, the bliss of having something to blackmail you with and get you to do favours in exchange was absolutely intoxicating.
once that lame session was done and over with, the idiot left your house and never came by again. keisuke jumped him somewhere you no one could see, beat him bloody and snatched the recorder right out of his ugly little hands. he told him, “i’ll break your fuckin’ fingers if you don’t shut the fuck up,” and the man complied, but keisuke broke them anyway. he made quite sure he wouldn’t be ratted out.
now, he knew how to initiate this new level to your so-called bond. he’d never been to your place before — actually, he did, you just never knew. what? can’t a guy check up on his favourite plaything? give him a break.
you came to your room with a deafening shriek, panic overtaking your entire body at the sight of that brute leaning against your windowsill and listening to… porn..? with the most nonchalant expression on his stern face. he didn’t even flinch at your scream. you swore you could’ve passed out from pure fear that day.
“how the fuck did you find my house?!”
“you’re actually such a loser. you still own this many plushies? if i lose hearing ‘cause of your dumb little mouth i’m gonna snap you in two ‘n rip your stuffed animals in half next, so shut up and c’mere.”
you obeyed, anxiety and terror dripping off of your frame. that made the corners of his mouth twitch.
with an indifferent air to his movements, he turned up the volume to the max just to fuck with you some more, and showed you the video playing on his phone.
your heart dropped.
you, buried in the sheets, moaning like a whore. he caught that on video. keisuke baji caught that on video — the man who has been dying to have some form of leverage on you, he fucking had the video! you knew you shouldn’t have trusted that bastard you had sex with!
“pfft… you moan so loud, goddamn. surprised your neighbours didn’t complain to ya. you don’t have any standards, huh?”
“how— how did you get that video?”
his lips curled into a sneer at your obvious question. “how do you think, dumbfuck?”
you swallowed shakily. he almost cooed at how your glittery lips quivered, how tears made your lovely eyes shine.
“what’re you gonna do with it? w-what do you want from me?”
“hah,” he snorted, smiling for only a second before dropping it. “asking a good question for once, that’s surprising. got your brains fucked back into you by that loser? i need ya to do a couple things for me.”
he suddenly tugged at the ends of your hair, balling your tresses up in his fist. you whimpered at the sharp sting of pain, and he smiled cruelly. his face lowered above yours, breaths mixing.
“you’re gonna get on that bed and let me fuck your brains right back outta you like a good girl.”
after that night, he basically treated you like his personal servant. except, he didn’t make you do much for him. “don’t touch my shit. don’t want your filthy self staining my belongings, you got that?” he’d claim.
how he thanked all that was holy for the invention of cameras and sextapes. he could make you do just about anything for him and you’d have to oblige because you don’t want anyone seeing your pure facade shatter. keisuke knew from firsthand experience that you were just a slut at your very core, and he never forgot to remind you.
he’d be so brash. in the middle of spending time with your friends, he’d practically grab you by the scruff of your neck. “oi, guys. need this dumbass for a bit,” he’d harden his tone while speaking to you next, “come with me.”
you’d have no choice but to follow along, acknowledging the pitiful glances a couple of the guys would send you. and in the following minutes, you’d find yourself on your knees in the middle of a dirty alleyway, choking on the raven-haired devil’s pierced cock like it was the last thing you’d eat. what a mess he’d turned you into, over the span of just a few weeks. you couldn’t comprehend the gratification that only you could give him. no one else could hold a goddamn candle to you. keisuke’s favourite toy, but he’d rather skin himself than admit it. he had a reputation to hold up and a pretty girl to torture, after all.
he’d rarely be gentle with you, if ever. he fucked you behind a toman meeting spot once, while the gathering was going on. up against the grimy wall or bent over his bike, you couldn’t quite remember. both, you think. you’re not sure because your brain was so fuzzy from how full he made you feel. he certainly had the size to back up his audacity. he was hissing at you to keep quiet, but didn’t even bother covering your mouth. no, his greedy hands were occupied with your tits, manhandling and fondling like they were made of dough. to him, they basically were.
he hadn’t taken you out on any dates. if it was ever just the two of you, it was going to be a hook-up, with a mind-numbing amount of pain and pleasure. usually, he’d come to your house, with or without your permission. he’d fuck you until you’re weeping as much as your pussy is, lick at your tears and spit in your mouth. he stayed over once or twice, laughed to himself at how you went out of your way to make him pancakes in the morning. even when he was treating you like a grain of dirt underneath his boot, you were so sweet. it was so cute. especially when he called your cooking disgusting but still proceeded to wolf it down. after that, he asked — forced — you to cook breakfast for him each time he’d come over.
it left you with a mess of emotions every time you saw him in your abode. he looked out of place but made himself right at home. seeing him brushing his teeth with your toothbrush in the morning, clad in just some low-hanging sweatpants and a goddamn cross necklace shouldn’t have turned you on as much as it did. you scolded him, only barely keeping arousal out of your angry tone. he didn’t give a shit, though. don’t think he doesn’t notice the way you stare at his massive arms.
one of his favourite things to do every time he came over was pin you to the counter as soon as you were done or while you were cooking. especially when it was for him. did you really expect keisuke baji not to fuck you on the counter when you were dressed in such provocative clothes, let alone cooking for him like you’re his wife? he hates that idea, and at the same time wants it badly. you’re so frustratingly cute.
he doesn’t visit you much, though. you look forward to meeting him to the point it’s pathetic, and you hate yourself for it. what’s so damn good about being fucked by some burly, mean delinquent with long black hair, and a broad frame, and… an entrancing caramel gaze, and… and a sickeningly good rhythm and a voice that— oh, stop it! you can’t be swooning for a goddamn bully like him!
when you’re out and about, keisuke barely even acknowledges you. he doesn’t look at you when you’re talking, maybe an occasional roll of his eyes, but he’ll practically ignore your existence unless he wants to humiliate you in a different way. he’ll even pretend to forget your name sometimes.
“hey, baji, have you seen [name] anywhere?”
“who?”
“[name], are— are you not friends with her?”
“nah. don’t know who that is.”
“i’m here!”
“[name]! thank goodness, i was looking for you.”
“oh, this [name]. should’ve specified it was her. the dumb chick who can’t seem to keep her ass under her skirt.”
“excuse me?”
“hm?”
“uh… i-i’m just gonna go. [name], mikey needs you. he’s over there.”
it makes your blood boil, how keisuke so openly degrades you. and at the same time, you can’t get enough of it.
you can’t get enough of how he’ll keep a vibrator inside your panties and have the remote expertly tucked in his pocket while you’re having dinner with your friends. the pink object is nestled perfectly against your clit, and you’re struggling not to roll your eyes back. keisuke, the asshole he is, will turn up the settings too high for comfort as soon as you try joining the conversation. you’ll never have a good day with this man around. he won’t reveal a damn thing, too, so everyone except him is concerned about you when you’re trying so hard to hold in your moans.
one night he’ll have his face buried between your tits, filthy groans erupting from his mouth as he drills into your soaking cunt, the next afternoon he’ll shove his broad shoulder against yours with enough force to make you trip and not give you a damn glance afterward. you don’t know it, but his eyes are actually trained on you all the time. he’s just got incredible instinct and a poker face.
he’ll kick your legs apart and flip your skirt up out of nowhere, take you on his bike and drive too fast for your poor heart to handle. when you show any fear during that death ride, he’ll scoff and call you a pussy. in reality, he just craves the way you cling onto him so tightly. like he’s your lifeline, which he is when you’re on the verge of crashing on his motorcycle.
you can’t tell if he’s repulsed by you or wants you. it’s a terrifying mixture of both, you bring out the sadist in him and he’s not going to deny himself of that pleasure. he’s not a monk, for fuck’s sake. he’ll take what he want, whether you like it or not. he’s got a hunch you do, considering the way you stare at him with the most intoxicating look of fear and desire and look away the instant he catches you.
stupid, stupid girl. thinking you’re so slick. he knows you far too well. he knows when you’re flustered, when you’re trying to defy him and failing miserably, knows how to draw tears from you and he knows how to hit that sweet spot in your pussy over and over until you make his wide back bleed with scratches. he’ll smack you for leaving them, informing you that he’s not your boyfriend and you shouldn’t leave marks on him like he is, but the way he wears them like a badge of honor contradicts him fully. his hypocrisy pissed you off so badly because he leaves bruises and bites on you all the time, and he doesn’t see you complaining about it, does he? well… he does. but unlike him, you can’t do a damn thing about it. you’ll just have to take it all like a champ because you’re his now. that knowledge makes your heart ache, and… maybe between your legs, too.

give uji~!!! uji juseyoooo~~
i had no idea whether anon was asking for pics of jihoon or not but i came up with this LOL (also this was made like 5 minutes b4 i went to sleep so...) .....
woozi sat hunched over his guitar, fingers absently plucking at the strings as he stared blankly at the lyrics scrawled in his notebook. the words seemed to blur before his eyes, mirroring the turmoil in his heart. you and him had been together for four wonderful years, but lately, everything felt like it was unraveling.
you, with your captivating eyes, had always been the vibrant center of his world. you were an ambivert, thriving on the energy of being surrounded by friends and admirers, while woozi preferred the solitude of his music. somehow, your opposites attracted, and you had made it work, until now.
he heard the front door open and close, signaling your return from another social engagement. your heels clicked rhythmically on the hardwood floor as you approached the room he retreated to when he needed space. woozi looked up, his heart skipping a beat as it always did at the sight of you.
"hey, you," you said softly, your voice like a balm to his frayed nerves. you perched on the edge of the bed, your hair cascading over one shoulder. "still at it, huh? you've been at this song for days."
woozi shrugged, his fingers stilling on the guitar strings. "it's not... it's not working," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "nothing feels right anymore."
your brows furrowed, concern etched on your beautiful face. you reached out and took his hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. "talk to me, jihoon. what's going on in that brilliant mind of yours?"
woozi sighed, setting his guitar aside. he ran a hand through his hair, trying to find the right words. "i feel like we're drifting apart, y/n. you're so social, so alive, and i'm just... i'm still this shy, introverted mess. i'm scared that one day you'll realize how much better you could be doing without me."
your eyes widened, and you scooted closer to him on the bed. you cupped his face with your free hand, your thumb brushing over his cheekbone. "listen to me, ji. i fell in love with you because of who you are - your passion, your talent." you continued, her voice filled with conviction, "i fell in love with you because of your passion for music, your talent that pours out in every lyric and melody you create. i love that you're not afraid to pour your heart out on paper and through your songs, even if you struggle to express yourself in everyday words."
you leaned in closer, your forehead resting against his. "and i love that you're an introvert. your quiet strength, the way you observe the world and process your thoughts deeply, it's a part of what makes you, you. i don't want you to change, ji.."
you took a deep breath before continuing, "as for drifting apart, i could never leave you behind. we may be different, but it's our differences that make us work. i need your quiet moments to balance out my hectic life. i need you to be my anchor, woozi." you brought both hands up to cup his face, your eyes locked with his. "i love you, not in spite of your introversion, but because of it. it's a part of what i fell in love with. and i know we can find a way to make this work, as long as we keep communicating, like this."
woozi felt tears prick at the corners of his eyes as he listened to your heartfelt words. He knew you were right, that his introversion was a part of what you loved about him. he reached up and covered your hands with his own, holding them against his face.
"i ove you too, y/n." he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "i don't know what i did to deserve someone like you in my life. i'll try to be better about talking to you, about not letting my fears and doubts consume me."
you smiled softly, noticing a single tear slipping down his own cheek. "you don't need to be better, love. you just need to be you. yhat's enough for me."
you leaned in and pressed your lips to his in a tender, loving kiss. woozi closed his eyes, losing himself in the feeling of your mouth against his, in the love and acceptance she offered so freely. he knew they would face challenges, that your paths wouldn't always align perfectly, but with you by his side, he felt like he could face anything.

author's note: hi everyone! i'm sorry for ghosting you for months. school has been so stressful that i didn't even get a chance to read updates from wind breaker. BUT I'm back! thank you all for reading my story!
✧˖° — windbreaker men

✧˖° — this is a story not one shot.
I slowly opened my eyes, feeling a strange tightness in my stomach. It was like I was about to throw up. I glanced around, trying to figure out where I was, and then looked down at where I was lying. I was on a soft mattress on the floor, my black shirt lifted slightly, exposing my stomach. My joggers were barely hanging on, the drawstring untied. I held my head and turned to the side.
My eyes widened. "What the—" I quickly covered my mouth, afraid of waking the person next to me. He was lying on his stomach, facing my direction, deep in sleep. His arms were wrapped around a pillow.
Why am I alone with Jay?! Panic surged through me. Even though I was dizzy, I managed to sit up. I frowned when my foot hit something—like a body. I felt a wave of relief when I looked down and saw June sleeping at our feet. Shaking my head, I fixed my hair. My gaze fell on Jay again. He looked so peaceful, fast asleep. Unlike when he’s awake—he’s intimidating, unapproachable.
My heart raced again, and I quickly averted my eyes, rubbing my temples. Did I do something terrible last night while I was drunk? I bit my lower lip, struggling to remember what had happened.
We already know.
I know something they don't.
Can you stay away from me from now on? Please?
"Holy shit. Oh, please don’t tell me—" My eyes went wide, and I scrambled off the mattress, trying to be careful not to wake the two of them. Once I was out of the room, I saw Dom sleeping on the floor, clutching Yuna in his arms. Aria was also fast asleep, mouth open. I scanned the room for Minu and Mia, but when I spotted them, I was surprised to see they were already awake.
Mia was making coffee for herself and Minu. They hadn’t noticed me yet, too busy chatting and smiling. What a lovely couple. When will I ever experience something like that? I sighed and immediately looked for my stuff.
"Demitra, you're awake!" Mia’s sudden voice startled me. I forced a smile and nodded, still searching for my bag, which Dom had apparently slept on. "Come join us. What do you want? Milk? Coffee? Or milked coffee?" she asked cheerfully.
"Water is fine," I said, giving her a small smile.
"Water in the morning? Are you an alien?" Minu joked. I chuckled and shook my head, pointing at my stomach.
"If I drink any of what Mia mentioned, I'll end up in the bathroom," I said, making them both laugh.
When Mia handed me the glass of water, I caught the two of them exchanging glances. It was as if they were communicating silently. These friends really had a habit of doing that, even when it was so obvious. After taking a sip, I set the glass down on the counter and crossed my arms, leaning against the sink.
"I know you two know something. You’re way too obvious," I joked, raising an eyebrow at them.
Mia looked flustered, her eyes darting to her boyfriend, as if silently begging him to speak for her. "W-Well, yesterday, Principal Nick told us something about you. About you being a professional rider—"
I burst out laughing. "Professional? Please, did Nick really say that?" I asked in disbelief. "I’m not. Let’s just say I’m an expert."
"But it's the same thing!" Mia jumped in. I just shrugged.
"It’s not," I said, still chuckling.
Minu suddenly grew serious, putting his glass down. "Why didn’t you tell us you're famous in England? As the underground princess? And that you’re friends with Owen from High Calvary!" he said, catching me off guard. Did Gramps really tell them everything? At this rate, I wouldn’t be surprised if he also mentioned my favorite food.
"Ew, don’t ever call me that again," I cringed. "And I’m not friends with him. I just know him." I avoided their gazes, just as I noticed Yuna stirring awake, probably overhearing our conversation.
"That’s the biggest lie I’ve ever heard in my life."
"Minu!"
I laughed as Mia scolded him. She gave me an apologetic look, clearly embarrassed by what her boyfriend had said. "You can ask him if you want." Please don’t.
"You beat him once," Yuna chimed in, despite just waking up.
"I don’t remember that," I replied, playing dumb. She just scoffed at me. "And, going back to what you said earlier, I’m not famous. I was just known in the underground. And that was years ago, so yeah, I’m not relevant there anymore," I said with a laugh, brushing it off.
"Stop being humble, Demitra," Minu said, and I just shot him a glare. "But the main point is, you're stronger than everyone else. I don't even understand how you lost to Jay. No offense to my best friend." He added, but my eyes widened when I saw Jay standing by the now-open sliding door.
"You're overthinking it," I replied, picking up my bag. "Even if you say I’m strong, biking isn’t my thing anymore. I’ve already told you that. I only got back into it to help you guys out." Everyone went silent at my words. "I did have fun helping you, though. Just make sure you explain things to your friend Shelly when she finds out about that video circulating. She's going to freak out seeing her 'clone' on the screen." I glanced over at Jay, who was standing with his arms crossed, leaning against the wall, watching me closely.
"Why do you sound like you’re leaving us after this?" We all turned in surprise to see Dom awake, scratching his head and clearly just having woken up.
"We still want you to be our friend, Demitra," June said softly, his eyes gentle, making my heart ache a little. I laughed to mask the emotions stirring inside me.
I knew they wouldn’t understand, but I needed to keep my distance. Nick already knew I was in Korea, and it wouldn’t be long before he told Shelly. The last thing I wanted was to run into her at school. Call me bitter, but I was only trying to protect myself. I couldn’t afford to get hurt again, especially not after being betrayed by my old friends.
"I appreciate it. We’re still friends, you know. And I’m not leaving." At least, not yet.
They made sure I had breakfast before I could even mention going home. As expected, Dom wouldn’t stop pestering me about how it felt to be famous in England, even asking for tips on how to beat international competitors, knowing I had beaten plenty in races before. Mia and the others, on the other hand, kept trying to pry into how I knew Owen, but I kept dodging the topic. The whole time, I could feel Jay’s eyes on me, and it was driving me crazy. Our conversation from last night kept replaying in my mind, making me avoid him even more.
"Last question, how did you learn to ride a bike?" Aria asked, stopping me in my tracks. The face of a man who had been absent from my life for so long immediately flashed in my mind. His earrings were the one thing I always remembered whenever he crossed my thoughts.
"From my dad," I said, half-truth, half-lie.
"Damn, I wish your dad could teach me!" June exclaimed.
"Never again. I’ll never take lessons from dads again. The last time I did, I nearly died from how hard Shelly’s dad pushed me," Dom said, practically on the verge of tears. I feigned surprise, though I knew all too well how strict Mark could be.
"Oh, Jay, where are you going?" Aria asked when she saw him stand up.
"Home," he replied shortly, not even glancing in my direction.
"Why don't you and Demitra leave together? So she has someone to walk with," Yuna suggested, and I nearly choked. Out of all the people who could’ve said that, it had to be her. I quickly shook my head.
"Then let’s go," Jay said coldly, addressing me directly. My mouth fell open in shock before I glared at him.
After saying my goodbyes to everyone, I hopped on my bike. I saw Jay already outside, waiting for me. I sighed before riding over to him. He was adjusting his helmet when he spoke.
"You should have told them you're leaving," he said, catching me off guard.
"What?"
His tired eyes looked straight at me. "You lied to them. Don’t just disappear without saying goodbye," he said before pedaling away.
My jaw dropped as I quickly followed him.
"What makes you think I’m leaving?"
"You literally said it last night."
I clenched my jaw, trying to think of an excuse. Hurry up, Demitra! Think of something. "I have no reason to leave, Jay," I lied, but he didn’t seem to care. His indifference made me even more annoyed. "Maybe you didn’t understand what I said last night. Why would I leave? I don’t have any enemies at Sunny High."
"Do you really want to talk about this?" he asked, his eyes locking onto mine. A chill ran down my spine.
"Yes! Tell me, Jay. Why would I leave?" I fired back. If you really don’t know anything, prove it. You’re hiding something. I could tell last night when you tried to act like you didn’t know. I’m not stupid.
He shook his head and sighed. "Stop asking me questions only you can answer," he said coldly. "If anything, I should be asking you that. Why are you leaving? Is there someone you’re scared to run into?"
His words struck a nerve.
"What the hell is your problem?" I snapped, making him stop. "I’ve had enough of your riddles, Jay. Just tell me what your issue is with me. You keep dropping hints about things you think you know, and it’s driving me insane. You keep looking at me like you’re waiting for something, and now this? Agreeing to walk me home after I literally told you to stay away from me?"
His expression shifted into something unreadable. "I don’t have a problem with you—"
"Then stop messing with me. If you know something, just say it. Tell me, what exactly did you hear from Nick?" I demanded, stopping my bike and glaring at him. His jaw tightened as he took a deep breath.
"I only told you what I heard last night, nothing more." He was lying again. What the hell? I nodded slowly, scoffing in disbelief. Ignoring him, I pedaled faster, trying to get away. Why does he keep messing with my head? What does he really know? From the way he talks, it's as if he knows everything about my secret.
I veered off the main route, taking a different path to put more distance between us. Thankfully, he didn’t try to follow. I wasn’t in the mood for another race with him. It took me 30 minutes to reach the park. I parked my bike and dropped myself onto the grass, frustrated. I held my head in my hands, trying to shake off the haunting memories.
"Is it true, Nick? Shelly’s engaged to Owen?"
"Yes, Demitra. Why? Didn’t Owen tell you? Aren’t you two close?" Nick had approached me, but I stepped back, covering my mouth. My body trembled at his words. After all this time, Owen is engaged to my friend? And Shelly knew? They both kept this from me?
Tears, which I had been trying to hold back, finally spilled over. "Demitra, why are you—" Nick began, but I cut him off.
I gripped my hair tightly, burying my face in my knees as the tears streamed down. I couldn’t understand why I still felt so much pain after all these years. I should’ve moved on by now. I should’ve forgotten them, but why was this happening to me? Why do the people I’ve been trying to forget keep coming back? My heart tightened painfully in my chest.
"I didn’t let you go just to see you cry."
I froze at the voice. Lifting my head, I saw Vinny leaning against his motorcycle, hands in the pockets of his leather jacket. I quickly looked away, wiping my tears.
"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at the race?" I changed the subject.
"It seems you really don’t care about the Sabbath, huh? The race ended a while ago," he said, lighting a cigarette. He even offered me one, but I shook my head. He raised an eyebrow, clearly surprised I wasn’t smoking.
"Did they find out?" I asked quietly.
"See this?" He pointed to a bruise on his cheek. "That's your boyfriend’s doing," he said before tossing the cigarette, even though he hadn’t taken a puff.
"I don’t have a boyfriend," I shot back, giving him a glare.
"Wooin is a smart guy. No one can fool him," he muttered, staring straight ahead at the road. "They’re pissed. Not just at me, though."
I sighed. "I’m sorry. You fought because of me," I apologized, feeling guilty.
"We were already fighting long before this, even without you," he said casually, lying down on the grass. "So tell me, why are you here? Did Hummingbird finally kick you out after using you?" He looked at me sharply.
"You know your friends aren’t like that," I said, meeting his gaze with equal intensity.

Crockett Marcel x Reader
Crockett started falling for you not long after meeting you but respected that you were happy, until Jay broke your heart.
Companion Piece to New Truck
Crockett met you his first day working at Chicago med and by god did you know how to make an impression. “Incoming, one of fifty one’s. She caught a beam to her shoulder. Refused to come in so her lieutenant overrode her” Maggie called out and he saw Will Halstead cut his eyes up and shake his head “Nope, not me”
“I’ll take it” he offered and Will smirked “Better you than me”
When the ambulance rolled in, the first thing he heard when the doors slid open was “For the love of Christ Sev this is embarrassing. Couldn’t you have just driven me back in once we got to the house?” he walked out and the sight he was met with was you on the gurney, glaring daggers at Kelly who shrugged “No. You got clocked pretty good. Besides Stella would’ve kicked both of our asses if you didn’t come in”
When you cut your eyes up at him his first thought was just how beautiful you were even in your full gear and covered in the soot and grime from a fire but he quickly scolded himself for how unprofessional that was. “Ms Y/N?” he asked and you smirked “Drop the Ms. Please just tell my Lieutenant I’m ok so I can go back to work. No offense but none of us are big fans of hospitals” “I understand, I really do but hows about I do a quick x-ray on that shoulder? Just to make sure?” he offered and you smiled slightly “I guess, but just because I like your accent and you did make it a question instead of a demand”
Kelly shot him a grateful smile “Thank you. I’m gonna call my chief and let him know her stubborn ass is getting seen” and to Crockett’s amusement you stuck your tongue out at Kelly who just shook his head “and I chose her to be my second in command on rescue” then walked off.
You watched Kelly go then looked back at him “Don’t listen to Sev, doc I am a fucking delight once you get to know me” he laughed “I believe you darlin. Drop the doc though. You can just call me Crockett” you grinned “Crockett”
_____________________
You were just getting settled into an exam room and Crockett was listening to your lungs while he waited on the portable x-ray when there was a knock at the door before Will’s brother Jay came in. “Detective Halstead? What are you doing here?” Jay nodded to you “You’re working on my girlfriend doc” you grinned over your shoulder at him “Who told I was here? Was it you Crockett?” he shook his head “Wasn’t me but Will did hear the call coming in”
Jay raised an eyebrow then smiled at you “What happened sweetheart?” Crockett finished the exam “Well x-ray will be down soon. You sound good and as long as I don’t see anything broken you’ll be out of here within a couple hours” he told you and you smiled “Thanks Crockett” “Yeah, thanks Doc” Jay told him with a smile.
Crockett was in Molly’s, sitting with Ethan and April. He was sipping on a beer and talking to Ethan about one of the cases they’d handled that week when he spotted you coming in the backway with Herrman. He’d known you for a while, would even go out on a limb to say you and him were somewhere near friends so when it looked like you were upset that worried him a bit. Then when you headed straight for Stella and downed three shots in a row he knew something bad was wrong.
“Uh oh” April spoke, her eyes on you as Jay walked in the door and you turned to look at him, your face twisted in anger and disgust. “That doesn’t look good,” Ethan muttered. The three of them weren’t meaning to be spectators but they couldn’t help it either. Jay stepped closer like he was going to kiss you but you leaned back and laughed and Crockett barely caught your response of “Like hell”
April turned to look from him to Ethan “What happened?” Ethan shrugged as you shoved Jay then tried to grab another shot but when Stella wouldn’t let you, you stole Tony’s beer and took a swig of it before asking Jay loudly “Did you miss me when you were in between whoever’s legs you crawled between?” “That bastard cheated on her” Crockett hadn’t realized he’d stood up until Ethan shoved him back down “Not in our place. She can handle it, her house will back her if she can’t”
Sure enough Jay reached for your arm and when you said “Don’t touch me” every member of fifty one that was around you echoed “Don’t touch her” they watched as you walked across the bar to talk to Jay, knowing this was wrong that they should give you privacy but it was like the human instinct to look at a crash.
You talked to Jay for a minute then turned to walk away then they weren’t sure what Jay said because the next few seconds were chaos. Kelly and Stella damn near ran across the bar because you spun around to swing on Jay and Kelly managed to throw you over his shoulder at the last minute. The last thing they heard as the four of you headed outside was you yelling “FUCK YOU JAY!”
“It really seemed like he loved her” April muttered after a moment and Crockett scoffed “He’s a fucking idiot if he had a woman like her and couldn’t keep his damn dick in his pants” Ethan turned towards him with a smirk “Doctor Marcel, do you have a thing for a certain firefighter?” Crockett shrugged “I’m not about to swoop up like some damn vulture on the woman but yeah, she’s a beautiful woman who deserves a lot better than to spend years of her life with a man to get treated like that”
Crockett would see you from time to time. Rather it was in Mollys, when you would end up in med for one reason or another or just bumping into you around town. He started to see your transition from heartbroken to putting yourself back together and it made a smile slip onto his face every time he saw another noticeable change towards you being you again. You were an amazing woman and he just hoped Halstead didn’t make you doubt that.
____________________
Ok, he wasn’t glad a member of fifty one had gotten injured by no means. He was however glad that you were the one charged with bringing him in because that meant while Sam Carver’s tests were run and the examinations were being done you were right there next to him the entire time.
You’d only stripped your helmet and jacket off from your gear as you paced in front of Carver’s room. That was exactly why Severide had picked you for his second in command. You cared about your people. He called your name and you looked up with a smile so he said “Good news, your boy’s fine” and your smile deepened into a full blown grin “That is good news doc. Thank you” he nodded “Happy to help”
You let out a breath, smoothing down your hair with one hand and before he thought about himself his mouth was moving on its own “Y/N…I know you and Jay Halstead split a few months back but would it be too soon for me to ask if you would want to get coffee or dinner some time?” he watched you cut your eyes down at yourself as if you were trying to make sure he saw you. He did indeed. You were fucking beautiful. You finally looked back up at him and shrugged “If you’re asking me out while I look like this? I’d say it’s perfect timing. Got your cell handy so I can give you my number?”
He felt a grin slip onto his face as he pulled his cell out and passed it to you “Yes ma’am” he watched as you typed your number in, adding a fire and firetruck emoji after it. When you handed it back you looked up at him and he couldn’t help but comment “Cute” you shrugged and explained “I always add emojis to my contacts”
He hit your number and let your phone ring before saying “Make sure you add me good ones” then felt the need to clarify “but just so you know I wasn’t saying cute about that darlin” and winked at you as he handed you Carver’s discharge papers you ducked your face slightly before saying “Call me soon ok Crockett?” he glanced at the clock on the wall “I’ll call you as soon as I get a break which in in half an hour. Soon enough?” you grinned “Yes, it is” l
Crockett understood your hesitations going into this new relationship. After all, you'd been with Jay for three years and the man cheated on you while he was undercover. He didn’t even have the decency to cheat with someone who knew his actual name. He opened up to you about his past, his daughter, all the struggles he faced because he knew he could. He knew you weren’t the type of person to turn away. You were the type of person to love with your whole heart that was why Jay had crushed it so damn bad but if it was the last thing he did he was going to fix those damn breaks one by one.
Every time you rolled into med he’d greet you with a kiss and most of the time try to grab you a coffee too. Hell your job was dangerous and tiring. When you had a bad call he’d drop anything and everything to come to your side. The nights you and him didn’t get together he would call you just to let you know what he was up to. Had you asked him to? No, of course not. Did he see that dark look in your eyes that was still clouding them at times? Yes so he was doing everything he could to chase it away.
The first time you and Crockett slept together he let you control the pace of everything. He wasn’t pushing you simply because he didn’t want to lose you. There was so much more important things than sex and he was man enough to use his damn hand if need be instead of losing a fucking amazing woman.
Having you trust him enough to take that step was everything. The way you responded to his touch, his kiss. The way you shook slightly under him
After, when he held you in his arms he kissed the side of your head and whispered “I love you” . He didn't want an answer, he just wanted you to know. You looked up at him and just the look in your eyes was enough for him. He smiled gently at you “You don’t have to say anything right now darlin. I know. Whenever you’re ready” “Thank you Crockett” you spoke softly and he raised an eyebrow “For what?” “Taking a broken heart and acting like it’s something still worth having” he shook his head “Oh sweetheart it is. You are so much more than the pain he caused you”
“Don’t break my heart. It can’t take much more” you whispered and he kissed the side of your head again “I promise you darlin. Hell I would at least break things off before I cheated on you” you cut your eyes up at him and grinned “Good answer” and that made him laugh “Wasn’t it now?” before pulling you over into a kiss. You slid your leg over to be on top of him and leaned down to press a kiss to his lips. “I love you” you whispered against his mouth and he froze, a smile spreading across his face.
He wasn’t glad Jay had hurt you but damn was he glad Jay was dumb enough to let you slip through his fingers because Jay’s loss was now his to hold and he wasn’t ever letting you go.
