This is general/ self made observations. It does not have to resonate with anyone.

☆ Having your venus/sun/moon in the 12th house can make you feel like an outsider to other people. You feel like you don't mesh well with people.

☆ Another manifestation to the 12th house stallium or placements, is it make you LITERALLY feel like the other woman/friend. You may notice that you are the other friend that other people go to when their favourite person is absent. You also might feel like the side chick too.

☆ Another manifestation to the 12th house venus is you feel like you love someone from afar and you do not truly dare to go and tell them how you feel. It feels like unrequited love from your side and it hurts so bad.

☆ In synastry chart, having your mars square your partners mars is not that good. You two may compete with each other or your ego may clash with them (take what resonates/ it depends on the other aspects and the sign the square happen to be in).

☆ The WORST (there’s nothing good or bad every relationship had its advantages and disadvantages) aspect is venus square venus and moon square moon and venus square moon. Since gay marriage is probably going to be up for debate again in the US, we need to have an effective strategy to discuss this with non-queer people. The first time around, the big argument against it, even from people who otherwise seem like allies, was:

"You have civil unions, that's the big deal?"

This also looks like:

"Marriage is a religious rite, why do you want to step on that?"

"Can't you just get a will/power of attorney/other legal solutions?"

"Marriage is just a piece of paper!"

We gotta shut up about love. These people don't care.

The answer should always be:

Our government has decided that being married is a secular legal status.

Civil marriage brings with it at least 1,049 legal protections and responsibilities from the federal government alone. (https://now.org/resource/civil-marriage-v-civil-unions/). There are more depending on your state.

Many of these rights, protections, and privileges are not extended to civil unions.

Many of these are not able to be reproduced through other legal means. (For example, "spousal privilege" when it comes to legal proceedings essentially means you can't be compelled to incriminate your spouse any more than you can be compelled to incriminate yourself - and you can refrain from incriminating yourself.)

Even when they are, many of them are able to be contested in court in a way they would not be or more easily than when extended through marriage. (For example, the family of one partner challenging a will after their passing.)

Logically speaking, marriage as it's constructed right now should legally be extended to all couples who want to enter into that contract

OR the government should stay out of marriage and we can return that to churches, remove the legal rights and privileges and we all, straight or gay, can make our legal arrangements separately (spoilers, nobody wants to do this).

I have talked to way, way too many non-queer people who don't know this and who have never had this logic presented to them, even though we literally had this fight a decade ago. Most of them, when learning this, go, "Well, huh. I guess that makes sense." Because it does!

This is not going to sway people who truly believe America is a "Christian Country" and our government should reflect "Christian Values" Don't bother debating these people. It haven been years after the defeat of Salem. In that years after the defeat, Jaune Arc and Weiss Schnee got married. After there marriege a tragedy happen. Jaune's 6 year old nephew, Adrian Cotta-Arc was left alone after a terrorist attack in Jaune's hometow that killed the Arc family. After that event, the Arc-Schnee couple adopted Adrian as he was there own son. Adrian was happy. He was trained by his uncle and aunt to become a hero like them. He told me that he was a relative of my aunt and that he would adopt him. Adrian then told him his goal of killing all of the heros. The Baron smiled him and told him that he would help him. He them gifted Adrian a sword that was in his family for generations. Pulcra Mors. The Beautiful Death. That sword could break every defence and armor. Then Adrian was trained by the Baron for years until the death of the Baron. The Baron left everything to Adrian. Adrian in honor of the help of the Baron he change his name to Zemo. Now Adrian Cotta-Arc was long gone. And there was only Baron Zemo.

Why I got on the ship, why I am still on it and why everybody is entitled to their opinion

I have read the Lukola tag on tumblr since spring last year as a guest and just signed up a few days ago. I’m not into sm at all. I like real life. But in this matter, I have something to contribute, bc the thoughts of bloggers helped me to get rid of negative emotions surrounding this topic. I’m not a native speaker of the english language, so I will try my best to describe what my motivation for getting on and staying on the ship was and is.

Probably like most of you, I was introduced to Pen and Colin in S1 of Bton. It seemed like a fun show. In episode one, while witnessing their interactions in the ballroom scene, I was intrigued by our very beloved Polin. I remember pausing the show bc I needed to know if there could be a romance between those two characters and I learned about the books and bought the ebook of Romancing Mr. Bridgerton. 

While this type of Novell is not my cup of tea, I still decided to read it bc I was eager to know the outcome of their story.

Continuing the show I was so struck by the chemistry of Pen and Colin, that I suspected the actress and actor playing them could actually be a couple in real life. So I did another research online to learn about them, their projects and, bc I was curious, about their privat life. At the time Mr. Luke Newton was dating his gf Jade and Mrs. Nicola Coughlan‘s love life was a mistery.

Even while watching S1 and S2 my interest was pinned on the interactions of our beloved Polin. And as soon as Netflix announced S3 will be Polin season, I was happy! While I got impatient for waiting for the release of Polin season, I started searching the internet for news. Oh boy, why did I do that? I learned about the breakup of Jade and Luke during filming of season 3. HBS in 2023 and that WT just started.

I watched every single Interview I could find on YT and was flabbergasted. There was so much chemistry! It was on another level. Now I was convinced they were secretly dating. I knew they were co-workers and good friends and the only thing I could think of, was that they finally fell in love on set of S3. 

I was waiting for some confirmation of N and L being together. Instead the Instyle article about L and A dating was released. What? WTF!? You kidding me? No way! Is this a rebound situation? 

I couldn’t wrap my head around it. What did I whiteness till then? Had N and L been the goods of PR, just selling the new season? I was lost, but couldn’t let go. Maybe dating A was just a rumor. So I continued watching clips and interviews paying more attention to details. There I was, I had already boarded the SS Lukola without realizing it. Surrounded by the endless ocean there was no escape. I was addicted. 

While searching, I found more information on tumblr. Thanks to all the great bloggers and all the helpful comments, I felt better immediately. Great, there are partners in crime. All willing to share their thoughts, opinions and information.

The last year was so much fun reading it. I simply loved it! Until a few weeks ago… People startet to hate on each others opinions viciously. A ridiculous war got in play. Ruthless enemies, former Lukolas now Ankes, Jakolas and even the Lukola-endgamers were bitching on the Lukola tag. Fighting over an opinion based on different views of events. Senseless hating on the others, especially the ones who were still on the ship believing in Lukolas bond. That kind of behavior didn’t make any sense to me. What’s the problem? Why not let the others be? Why does everybody want to convince the opposition? Blogs started hiding because their opinion got unpopular. What a shame! 

I think all of us can freely have our own opinions and conclusions of events. I do not care about trolls. I strongly believe Nic and Luke are a married couple since last autumn. I even think there could be a surprise on the way. Yes, I said that. I am fully aware I could be totally wrong and all the assumptions I made bc of several incidents (for example actions on the WT, comments in interviews, chaos week, claddah ring, total silence of Lukey Newts in the last few month) are false. 

And if they are: Nothing bad will happen. As long as you only have an assumption and you do not hate on someone, especially Nic and Luke, everything is fine. The only toxic thing is people hyping things up and making it about themselves. By not accepting that another person is allowed to have a different opinion, weather you like it or not, you are a part of the problem. The question is how all of us handle emotions that come with other ppl not sharing our believes.

If tomorrow is the day we get a video of Luke singing ‚Happy Birthday’ to A on a beach in Cyprus and telling the world that she is his most beloved gf, then so be it. We all would be relieved of the burden of not knowing. If that happens, I will still ask: „Who is Nic‘s husband?“ (I suppose his name is not Bert). Bc as nice of a young man Jake seems to be, I would be utterly surprised if it is him, but also would be able to accept a romantic involvement.

Touches, kisses on cheeks, holding hands, putting you arm around, sitting or standing next to someone, going for dinner together, wearing the same hoodie or hat, sitting in someones kitchen or living room, going together on vacation, bathing in the ocean together, sunbathing on a hotel balcony, buying groceries and all the other usual things probably all of us did with a friend are sadly not a confirmation of a romantic relationship. So we still do not know who is with whom. We are only assuming a certain connection by evaluating the main clues.

I will stay on the ship until there is any confirmation of N or L regarding another partner or I see actual proof with my own eyes. And it has to be a picture of one of them french kissing another person or any sort of declaration of N or L! In the meantime everyone is entitled to think whatever they want to be true!

What do you assume, believe or wish?

Shipping doesn’t have to be tough. Leaving a ship is not a crime. I will probably gracefully leave at the next stop if there will be confirmation that N and L are with other ppl. Then the Endgamers will have more space and staying is also fine. I simply believe if N and L did not get together on the WT they are just friends… but who knows?

Do you want to know why I think Luke is not showing up? Because Nic wants to keep their relationship private, as she seemingly always did in the past. While he seems to be such a genuine guy who would love showing his relationship to the world, as he always did in the past, but simply got so much hate for everything he was doing that he is preferring to hide. This is also just a theory, again, I could be totally wrong. We will see.

Till then remember: Trying to insult each other is not supporting your argument. Nobody has to agree with anybody! Also nobody has to argue with anybody! Just share your opinion respectfully and enjoy the possibility of exchanging information with others on this platform. A little sarcasm is therefore essential.

I can't help but be skeptical. Bullies and abusers often paint themselves as victims to justify their actions to themselves - this can also lead to gaslighting and victim blaming. Sometimes they're really reaching, and sometimes they're enacting the same behaviors on others that someone enacted on them - violence begets violence etc. But that doesn't make it OK. Even if people aren't being bullies in real life, there's a dangerous mentality in enacting bullying behavior online or through fandom because it can lead to enacting it in daily life too.

The thing is, when someone posts something like "all _____ fans need psych evals" or deliberately tags a post to bait a specific fandom, that's deliberate provocation. It's the virtual form of stepping to someone and getting in their face, baiting them to ask the bully to back off so they can use it as an excuse to attack. If the person being baited raises their voice, the bully can use it to say they started the argument when they were doing nothing and shout all the abuse they want. If they put their hand on the bully to hold them back because they're scared, the bully can say they started it and throw a punch. But the act of deliberate provocation is itself a red flag at best, and outright bullying at worst.

Bullying is about control (much like abuse, which is no surprise since they're on the same spectrum). And if you look through posts in the Snapedom, then you'll see that five years ago there was a lot more meta and character exploration, whereas now the dominant theme seems to be arguing back against haters. The narrative has literally been changed - the bullies are controlling it and dominating the conversation even when they aren't actually present. How many posts from the past couple of years are just people arguing against something a hater/Marauders stan said, whether it's directly or in a new post that avoids the conflict of a direct interaction? How much of the discourse around this character is now being shaped by reactions to antis?

The conversation, and perception of the character, is being controlled by bullies who aren't interested in respecting others in the wider fandom, and instead mimic the behavior of their faves, especially when those faves are Marauders, and deliberately target not just Snape as a character but the part of the fandom who finds him compelling and engages with him. That's bullying. It doesn't matter what these people's personal experiences are, if their actions are deliberately targeting certain people and doing so with aggression, even if it's only verbal, that's bullying. And it's likely that this behavior is not different than how these people engage with others in their offline lives, only more exaggerated.

You can think of yourself as an outcast or a misfit and still be a bully. You can be a victim of bullying and still enact that behavior on others. "I was also bullied" isn't a get out of jail free card, you have to check your own behavior. As for what an outcast or a misfit even is, it's subjective, but someone claiming that identity doesn't excuse ba behavior, and it doesn't mean that much especially in the Marauders fandom. Look at James and Sirius - Rowling (boo, hiss) saw them as misfits, talks about them as misfits, but are they? They considered themselves the "height of cool" according to Lupin. They were recruited by Dumbledore himself to fight against Voldemort. Yet they're supposed to be misfits because Sirius rode a motorbike and James... was Head Boy and got married and started a family right after school ended, I guess? Rowling wrote that short story for charity where James and Sirius mess with a pair of cops, but it's not really conveying any kind of anti-policing message, it's just a 2 page short story about a pair of wizards who use a youthful rejection of authority as an excuse to muggle-bait.

Look, some of this character analysis will inevitably be subjective no matter what. I won't claim that my analysis of James and Sirius is any kind of objective fact. But that's also kind of the point - fandom is based around media, and media is inevitably subjective. Anyone trying to assert their subjective perspective as truth is misguided, but doing that in a way that asserts a perspective deliberately onto others and tries to force them to agree, especially using aggression and online harassment and abuse is absolutely bullying. Just because a person says they were bullied or are a misfit or outcast etc. doesn't mean that's their whole story. Their own actions and conduct speak for themselves.

Honestly, I’d really like to hear a coherent argument that justifies the constant bashing Snape gets in the fandom because, to this day, I haven’t read anything that makes me think he deserves the sheer amount of crap thrown at him. On the note of bed-sharing, because I cannot stop thinking about how Lorch can make it so fucking weird:

On one side of the coin, I totally get that there are siblings who like to share their beds/rooms. One of my friends is like that with her sister - when they are both home from uni, like every other month or so, they sleep in their old childhood bedroom, where they have two twin beds pushed together. When me and a few friends were having a sleepover at hers, I ask her about it, and she said it "just feels nice" and they are so "used to it". Totally cool, and cute - but let me include that they fight and bicker all the time as well, and have different friend groups that include their partners.

On the other side, I have a twin sister, who I love to death and I know she would take a bullet for me as well, but we just cannot share the same space - we are hella different and it shows by us needing the space for different reasons. When money was tight for my mom, we had to share a bunk-bed - we both hated it because our room was also more like corridor between two rooms and if you ever had to sleep in a bunk bed, you just know there is no privacy. Before that, when we were much younger, I was sharing a bed with my mom and my sister with our aunt - again, money/space reasons.

So, as a semi-professional bed-sharer and a sibling (a twin, even)... Lily, it is fucking weird that you make a married woman share the bed with her sister-in-law, when I suppose (what'-her-name was living somewhere before they got married) it wouldn't be necessary if they were not so fucking codependent on each other.

I have a fiancé now, and I would never bring up the idea of me, him and my twin sister sharing our bed if it wasn't the end of the world, where is no free couch/futon left - it would just feel... icky, and hella strange.

Especially, since in her story, this bed-sharing doesn't seem like a temporary thing. I don't want to be gross, or be to "sex-focused" but, when you marry someone, don't you want to be alone with them? Not just for sex, but cuddling together while watching a move, or maybe just making out in the morning - there is no way that would be healthy for a newly wed couple to never be alone in their most intimate space.

Let me repeat and tldr as well: A fucking newly wed couple sharing a bed with a sibling for god knows how long, is fucking weird and no way good for their relationship in the long-run (you don't need your non-existing psychology Ba to know this, Lils.)

P.s: If someone still thinks that is "just cute" and "sibling bond" walk up to your own partner/friends, and ask them if they would be okay with a sibling/cousin/best friend/relative sharing a bed with the two of you for a longer period of time just because you "love them too much".

With the arrival of Ultra Magnus something changed pushing Wheeljack to decide on leaving the Wreckers.

"Come with me" said Wheeljack curbing his exasperation after asking her yet again about leaving together while holding her servo.

His conjux endura, someone she meet during the Golden age of Cybertron when they fought side by side to later inevitably fall love during their countless missions together.

"What guarantee can you give me that we are going to safe?" she answered uncertain of his plan. "With a war approaching we cannot separate from our team" she disapproves of his plan.

"I assure that we will be fine, we can go to my old lab in Ankmor".

"We can't just leave, please Wheeljack."

"I love you" he said. She could fell the grip of his servo loosening until he lets hers go and turning around.

That was the last night she saw him until she eventually joined team prime after the fall of Cybertron.

She was coming back from picking up the kids since the rest of the team was on a mission. Once in the base Miko started interrogating her about her weapons.

"My sword was a gift from my conjux endura many stellar cycles ago" she answered with a smile.

They were surprised to hear that she was married, Bumblebee explained to the kids cybertronian relationship after they watched a soap opera, and now they have many questions.

"We need to know the full story" Mike said and the two boys nodded in agreement why getting comfortable for the story time.

"His name is Wheeljack, we meet when we joined the Wreckers before the war" she smiled while recalling their memories. "We used to spar all the time and go on mission together, our relationship dynamic evolved so naturally that we didn’t even establish anything until one afternoon when Bulkhead asked us when was our anniversary".

"In my defense you two always acted as a couple that the whole team just thought you were officially together" Bulkhead explained.

"And where is he right now?" Miko asked. "Is he-was he offlined?". "Miko, shut up" Jack intervene, he has the same question but did not want to bring up a possible sensitive topic.

"No, as far as I can feel from our bond, he is still alive and kicking somewhere out there" she said sadly. "When Optimus appointed a new leader for the Wreckers Wheeljack didn't agree the new changes being made so he planned to leave, he insisted on us leaving together but with the hostility of the decepticons rising I was not sure if it was the best idea so one night he just left, and I haven’t seen him since".

Since Miko does not know when to close her mouth she asked something again even when Jack and Raft signaling her to stop.

"And you still love him? Even when he just left like that?" Even Bulkhead was looking at her expectantly for her answered, he just wanted to know how his friend was dealing with all this.

"Miko" she sighs. "If someone asked me if I still loved him, I would say that I adore him, I will tell them how happy I was with him and not even distance will change that" she sadly turned around to leave. "I wish I left with him that day".

Turns out Wheeljack was not that far from way from her, a week later he arrived at the base, but something fell off, as if Wheeljack was not her Wheeljack.

Bulkhead was the first one to voice his concerns that his friend was acting different.

"Tell it” insisted Bulkhead asking him to tell the story about the battle of Darkmount Pass. Suddenly Wheeljack grabbed Miko revealing his identity as Makeshift and activating the ground bridge from where the real Wheeljack emerged ready to fight.

"That's my Jackie" said Bulkhead after he defeated Makeshift.

After all the commotion they brought the Jackhammer back to the base for Ratched to fix it, so she used this opportunity to approach Wheeljack.

"I missed you so much" she said while hugging him. He pressed his helm against hers basking in the feeling of being together again.

Miko definitely took pictures without the couple noticing, she just wanted to capture the moment.

"Yes". This time she did not hesitate to choose him.

"So, Jackie, you have to pick your new vehicle mode now that you are with team prime" interrupted Bulkhead.

"About that Bulkhead..." he was not staying with them. She understood he is always on the look for new adventures and decepticons to fight, but maybe this time she can go with.

Later that same day Wheeljack asked her again "will you come with me this time?" he said while holding her servo.

the princess stays in place, looking down at the floor as she sniffles. why should she go back there? they don't want her there. the man in armor turns back around when he doesn't hear the princess following after him. ghost lets out a sigh, as he hears her sniffle. with couple of steps, he's standing in front of her.

"why do you cry, princess?" he mutters, reaching up and gently holding her cheek in his scarred hand.

"i hate him..." it's a silent whisper, lost to the silence of the cold castle. her face twists as she fights against more tears.

"walls have ears, and they will twist your words into treason," ghost says firmly, shutting the girl up before she can be her own doom. his thumb run over the bottom of her eye, wiping up the tears that spill. ghost sighs and leans down, pressing a small kiss between her eyebrows.

"sweet princess, you need to return to the feast... i cannot take you away tonight," he whispers huskily.

"take me away...?" she repeats, even quieter, her brows knitted in confusion.

"if i killed him, i could claim you for myself," ghost murmurs. he looks down at her, letting the princess ingest his words.

her eyes are wide in shock. kill? for her? that is the most romantic thing she's ever heard. is this what courting is? if so, then she only wants more of it. she can't tell if he's mocking her, but there's something in his voice that makes her stomach stir with excitement. the wine in his breath makes her consider for a moment that he's messing with her, but she also wants to enjoy the attention.

"h-how would you take his life?" the girl straightens her back, trying to sound more confident.

"i would slit his throat, as easy as slicing a warm pie," ghost says it as if it's nothing, his running along her cheek. "i could take you far away, we would live in a house by the sea and you could wear pretty dresses for only me to see."

her breath hitches, feeling that flutter in her stomach. jesus christ. her hands clutch onto her cute little dress as she squeezes her thighs together. now she regrets giving her virginity to that twig, when a man like this could've had it, a man who truly deserves her purity.

"now be a smart girl and return to the feast." ghost murmurs and turns to walk back to the feast.

she quickly reaches forward, desperately clinging onto the man's arm, to keep him there. if she let's go now, he might just come across a wench or two and change his mind. "b-but you said that-!" she stammers, utterly confused by the change in the air. there's no one there for her. no one who she's welcome to. her heart aches. she thought that this prince wanted her. what did she do wrong? ghost scoffs, gently prying the girls hands off his forearm. "you think it’ll be like a story, a hero slaying the villain and sweeping the princess off her feet. but this is real life," his tone is suddenly colder, more detached. “you’re chasing something that will never be yours.”

her hands stay in the air for a moment when he pulls away from her, reluctant to let go. his words sting, dig in deep and leave a pit for her to collapse in. her hands fall down and settle over her stomach as she fidgets with them.

she opens her mouth to say something, but the words escape her. it all changed so fast. some wench must've bewitched him, taken him from her. why can't she have anything, not even a man who wants her?

he looks at her again, his gaze intense, unflinching. his expression hardens, though there’s still a part of him that almost looks regretful. and then, he just walks away.

the princess can do nothing else than stand in place and hold back tears. she's alone again. the moonlight makes her shaking hands look blue. did she misunderstand? did she wrongly assume the meaning of his words? or was she just so naive?

So I’ve been enjoying the Disney vs. DeSantis memes as much as anyone, but like. I do feel like a lot of people who had normal childhoods are missing some context to all this.

I was raised in the Bible Belt in a fairly fundie environment. My parents were reasonably cool about some things, compared to the rest of my family, but they certainly had their issues. But they did let me watch Disney movies, which turned out to be a point of major contention between them and my other relatives.

See, I think some people think this weird fight between Disney and fundies is new. It is very not new. I know that Disney’s attempts at inclusion in their media have been the source of a lot of mockery, but what a lot of people don’t understand is that as far as actual company policy goes, Disney has actually been an industry leader for queer rights. They’ve had policies assuring equal healthcare and partner benefits for queer employees since the early 90s.

I’m not sure how many people reading this right now remember the early 90s, but that was very much not industry standard. It was a big deal when Disney announced that non-married queer partners would be getting the same benefits as the married heterosexual ones.

Like — it went further than just saying that any unmarried partners would be eligible for spousal benefits. It straight-up said that non-same-sex partners would still need to be married to receive spousal benefits, but because same-sex partners couldn’t do that, proof that they lived together as an established couple would be enough.

In other words, it put long-term same-sex partners on a higher level than opposite-sex partners who just weren’t married yet. It put them on the exact same level as heterosexual married partners.

They weren’t the first company ever to do this, but they were super early. And they were certainly the first mainstream “family-friendly” company to do it.

Conservatives lost their damn minds.

Protests, boycotts, sermons, the whole nine yards. I can’t tell you how many books about the evils of Disney my grandmother tried to get my parents to read when I was a kid.

When we later moved to Florida, I realized just how many queer people work at Disney — because historically speaking, it’s been a company that has guaranteed them safety, non-discrimination, and equal rights. That’s when I became aware of their unofficial “Gay Days” and how Christians would show up from all over the country to protest them every year. Apparently my grandmother had been upset about these days for years, but my parents had just kind of ignored her.

Out of curiosity, I ended up reading one of the books my grandmother kept leaving at our house. And friends — it’s amazing how similar that (terrible, poorly written) rhetoric was to what people are saying these days. Disney hires gay pedophiles who want to abuse your children. Disney is trying to normalize Satanism in our beautiful, Christian America. 

Just tons of conspiracy theories in there that ranged from “a few bad things happened that weren’t actually Disney’s fault, but they did happen” to “Pocahontas is an evil movie, not because it distorts history and misrepresents indigenous life, but because it might teach children respect for nature. Which, as we all know, would cause them all to become Wiccans who believe in climate change.”

Like — please, take it from someone who knows. This weird fight between fundies and Disney is not new. This is not Disney’s first (gay) rodeo. These people have always believed that Disney is full of evil gays who are trying to groom and sexually abuse children.

The main difference now is that these beliefs are becoming mainstream. It’s not just conservative pastors who are talking about this. It’s not just church groups showing up to boycott Gay Day. Disney is starting to (reluctantly) say the quiet part out loud, and so are the Republicans. Disney is publicly supporting queer rights and announcing company-supported queer events and the Republican Party is publicly calling them pedophiles and enacting politically driven revenge.

This is important, because while this fight has always been important in the history of queer rights, it is now being magnified. The precedent that a fight like this could set is staggering. For better or for worse, we live in a corporation-driven country. I don’t like it any more than you do, and I’m not about to defend most of Disney’s business practices. But we do live in a nation where rights are largely tied to corporate approval, and the fact that we might be entering an age where even the most powerful corporations in the country are being banned from speaking out in favor of rights for marginalized people… that’s genuinely scary.

Like… I’ll just ask you this. Where do you think we’d be now, in 2023, if Disney had been prevented from promising its employees equal benefits in 1994? That was almost thirty years ago, and look how far things have come. When I looked up news articles for this post from that era, even then journalists, activists, and fundie church leaders were all talking about how a company of Disney’s prominence throwing their weight behind this movement could lead to the normalization of equal protections in this country.

The idea of it scared and thrilled people in equal parts even then. It still scares and thrills them now.

I keep seeing people say “I need them both to lose!” and I get it, I do. Disney has for sure done a lot of shit over the years. But I am begging you as a queer exvangelical to understand that no. You need Disney to win. You need Disney to wipe the fucking floor with these people.

Right now, this isn’t just a fight between a giant corporation and Ron DeSantis. This is a fight about the right of corporations to support marginalized groups. It’s a fight that ensures that companies like Disney still can offer benefits that a discriminatory government does not provide. It ensures that businesses much smaller than Disney can support activism.

Hell, it ensures that you can support activism.

The fight between weird Christian conspiracy theorists and Disney is not new, because the fight to prevent any tiny victory for marginalized groups is not new. The fight against the normalization of othered groups is not new.

That’s what they’re most afraid of. That each incremental victory will start to make marginalized groups feel safer, that each incremental victory will start to turn the tide of public opinion, that each incremental victory will eventually lead to sweeping law reform.

They’re afraid that they won’t be able to legally discriminate against us anymore.

So guys! Please. This fight, while hilarious, is also so fucking important. I am begging you to understand how old this fight is. These people always play the long game. They did it with Roe and they’re doing it with Disney.

“let’s just stop.” satoru’s announcement came out of the blue. his tone came off serious and firm, which was quite uncharacteristic of him. it took you by surprise, a dumbfounded expression was written all over your face. even though you knew that this whole ‘fake’ relationship situation wouldn’t last long and that it was bound to come to an end sooner or later the moment he found someone he truly loved, and although you prepared yourself for that day, you just couldn’t help but feel a hint of sadness and hurt as your heart clenched painfully inside your chest.

why? because what first started as nothing but a mere attraction, a show to stop your parents’ constant nagging about you not seeing anyone at you age while most of your peers had gotten married already, turned to real and genuine feelings of love. as time passed by since the start of your relationship with him, you found yourself helplessly fall for satoru and those sweet, tender acts of his. the way your name slipped off his lips ever so sweetly, and how it rung into your ears like a serenade. how he took your hand into his as they fitted perfectly, like two puzzle pieces that complete one another. how he casually threw his arms around your waist like it was the most natural thing in the world to do for him.

you knew that all of his sweet actions and gestures were all just a part of his act to make it seem as believable and convincing as possible, and he did exactly that. no one, not even your parents, had a single doubt that the two of you were really dating. to outsiders, your relationship was what they call 'goals'. not knowing that it was all just a show, a camouflage. although you knew it all along, but you couldn't help but fall for him.

you wanted to tell him not to leave you, to stay with you longer, that you’d gotten so used to being with him to the point where you weren't ready to live without him, that you needed him. just thinking about how the two of you would part ways from then on, and how satoru would eventually move on like nothing happened between the two of you and maybe even find himself someone whom he’d truly love almost made your head spiral out of control.

if only you had known your feelings for him would grow this intensely, you wouldn't have agreed to do this.

your body moved on its own as your hand grabbed the sleeve of his jacket. you swallowed a lump that was starting to form in your throat.

"do we really have to?" your voice was shaky as you sounded very desperate. your eyes were practically glued to the floor as you anxiously awaited for his answer, refusing to ever look up. your chest moved up and down rapidly as as result of your heavy breathing.

you heard him sigh as he removed your hand away.

"yes, it’s gotten really tiring having to keep up with this act." your heart sank at his response. it really was the ending, and you were trying your hardest to fight the tears that eagerly awaited to fall.

satoru reached his hand out and used his thumb to lift your chin up, forcing you to look at his beautiful sky blue eyes. his lips slightly parted as he began speaking.

“let’s drop the act, i love you for real.”

and the sudden declaration hit you like a truck, did he just say that he loved you? it took you a couple of long minutes to process his words and fully register them in your mind.

the seriousness and earnestness of his tone along with his unwavering gaze at you left no room for doubt, he definitely meant every word he said. and you couldn't believe what started as a mere act at first had actually become something real.

the anxious look on your face began to relax as all tension slowly escaped your body, replaced with a wave of joy and relief. you let a few happy tears fall down your crimson, red cheeks as a result of being overwhelmed with emotions, which satoru gently wiped.

"yeah, let's." you hummed, a soft smile made its way onto your face. you wrapped your arms securely around his neck as you stood on your tippy toes, whispering softly into his ears in a moment of genuine intimacy and affection which you had felt for the very first time.

"i love you, satoru." although it wasn't your first time saying those words to him, but this time it felt much different, much more meaningful.

he smiled softly and leaned closer as the distance between you and him was completely gone.
