I miss the ocean. the water, the breeze I felt from outside my window. the sunset reflecting in the water, making me squint my eyes just so I could watch as the sky turns a beautiful shade of orange. I miss sitting outside and painting the cityscape. getting all dressed up just to go to the mall with friends and not buy anything because I don't have the money. I'm sure the country will be beautiful in its own way but the city is its whole own thing. I will forever miss it.

I had a dream last night that I went to LA for something. It was something job related, I can't remember exactly what. I stayed with some friends and one was going to show me around while I had some free time. I asked to go to the ocean first so we did.

My friend didn't want to go in the water so she asked some friendly people she met at the beach to go with me (no idea why I needed the supervision lol). So these two ladies and I walk into the water.

As soon as I get in the water, I'm grinning so big. I remember telling one of the ladies that I've missed the ocean so much, the last time I saw it I was 16 and now I'm 38. We swam for a bit and then a shark came up. It kinda nuzzled my arm for a few minutes and I petted it. It was really friendly and it felt almost like a supernatural moment. Like the ocean was welcoming me.

Then the shark swam away and I woke up

i need to go to the beach again tbh

im having car problems again. it sucks because it's never ending with this car but it sucks even more because i am supposed to leave for the shore on monday. thankfully my partner's mother is lending us a little money to get a rental for the week. it was way too kind of her and we appreciate it so much because honestly i haven't been away from my home in two long years.

not that i don't love my home, i absolutely love being here but it's also my place of work. i am never not working on some fashion. i REALLY need these three days away from here, even if it's just for a change of scenery.

other than that, i spent my day off rearranging and cleaning my bathroom. i now have a functional mirror and i put up a new shelf and now i don't feel stressed out when i walk in there. this whole past week i have been tackling small cleaning projects that i have been putting off, that way i can recover at the shore and come home to a clean, decluttered house. because no one wants to walk back in to a mess straight from vacation.

my goal is to finish at least one star trek book (maybe two??) while i'm there and go kayaking and spend any extra time sleeping on the beach.

I love sitting on the beach and watching the sand, especially when you sit really still and you start to see all the bugs crawling around everywhere!

Question for bug people: are there more bugs on the beach than other places, or are there actually a similar number of bugs on the beach or even possibly fewer bugs on the beach then there are other places, but they’re just really easy to see on the beach because there’s not a bunch of foliage for them to hide in ?
