I miss the ocean. the water, the breeze I felt from outside my window. the sunset reflecting in the water, making me squint my eyes just so I could watch as the sky turns a beautiful shade of orange. I miss sitting outside and painting the cityscape. getting all dressed up just to go to the mall with friends and not buy anything because I don't have the money. I'm sure the country will be beautiful in its own way but the city is its whole own thing. I will forever miss it.

I know it’s not much in the face of everything but I have been finding hope & resilience in palestinian poetry these past few weeks and I created a google drive file of poetry collections by palestinian poets that I will keep updating as I keep on reading. I also recommend checking out @fiercynn’s palestinian poets series for more poets + poetry available online

Meet Red X, an animal so new to science that it doesn’t have an official name!
We’ve collected these captivating comb jellies in Monterey Bay alongside our research partners at @mbari-blog. Together, we’re learning more about them—and the deep sea—every day!
You can see Red X today in our Into the Deep/En lo Profundo exhibit!
