commitment - leah williamson x reader
You always heard about âdonât date athletesâ and âathletes are players," but of course when good advice comes your way, you ignore it.
It was a bit insane to think that you could start talking to the one girl who could not be bothered with being in a committed relationship. That gut feeling telling you âDonât get too closeâ, âDonât entertain herâ, or âDonât fall in too deepâ but you once again ignored it.
Honestly, you could not help it. It was like a craving to be around Leah all the time. It almost felt like an obsession of wondering, âWhat is she doing?â, âWhere is she?â, âIs she thinking about me?â
Constantly checking your phone to see if she messaged you. Looking at her social media every hour on the hour. You were in deep and you knew it would eventually lead to hurting yourself. Yet, being someone with the typical heart-eye delusions, the thoughts in the back of your mind kept saying, âShe will change for you.â
Trying to distance yourself never worked because every time you were at a safe enough distance she kept pulling you right back in. Leah knew that she had some type of hold on you and constantly used that to her advantage.
Just last week she was barely texting and calling you back. You understood that she was not obligated to do so since you two were not officially together, but you were most definitely a littleâŠmaybe even a lot more than âjust friends.â The dates, the romantic gestures, and the PDA all confirmed that but you could never understand her constant pushing and pulling.
Leah knows exactly how to make it up to you though. She texted three days ago saying how sorry she was not keeping in contact, how she misses you like crazy and how she planned a whole day for just the two of you. You were strong this time, wanting her to feel how she makes you feel by not texting back and declining her calls those three days. Yet one slip of weakness and here you are right back in her bed.
____________________
âI missed you so much you have no ideas.â Leah tells you as she feathers kisses all over your face as you both lay in bed naked.
âOh really? I would not have guessed.â you said as you sat up from her chest and moved away from her a little. She froze looking at you with that cute frown that is usually stuck on her face and said, âBaby I told you I am truly sorry, I really mean it. I have just been a bit busier since the launch of my third book. You know this.â
Leah wraps an arm around your waist pulling you back down closer to her. âI am here now though, arenât I?â You hesitantly relax into her and say, âI know but a simple text or any sort of reply would have been nice. I just missed you.â You can feel Leah smiling against your hairline after she lays a soft kiss there. âI missed you too babe.â
After a moment of you two just enjoying each other's company she says quietly, âHow about we get up, you come shower with me, and then we can go out and get some breakfast?â
____________________
Once again the cycle repeats itself with Leah distancing herself. No longer answering calls or texts. Although it hurt, you thought it would be best to leave things the way they were to protect your peace, even pushing yourself to be petty enough to block her number. It was almost like you were putting her up to the test to see how far she would go to get your attention.
Although she did swipe up on one of your Instagram stories of you in a tight shirt with no bra saying, âIâve seen it, now delete it,â but you ignored that as well.
____________________
Since being friends with Leah for many years you have grown closer with some of the Arsenal girls and with them loving your company, a couple of them have asked you to join them in celebrating the end of their USA tour at a local pub. People are either mingling by the bar, doing karaoke, or sitting around the reserved private table in the back.
Currently, you are at the bar getting a drink and you can feel Leahâs eyes burning into the back of your skull.
âWhatâs going on with you two? You have been more grumpy than usual,â Katie teases Leah as she sits in the empty seat next to her. âShe's ignoring me,â Leah sighs, still looking at you.
âWhat have you done this time?â Alessia asks from across the table. âIâve been kind of avoiding her again. I donât mean to but I donât know what Iâm doing.â Leah replies.
âHave you tried talking to her about how you feel? Do you actually want to have a serious relationship with her?â Katie asks.
âNo, I haven't talked to her. Every time I try to talk about us my mouth goes dry and all of a sudden I canât think, and of course, I want something serious with her Iâm just nervous,â Leah shakes her head and looks down at her fidgeting fingers.
Lia, who has been listening to the conversation from her seat next to Alessia, speaks up, âWell you might need to tell her soon because the bartender is flirting with her heavily.â
This causes Leahâs head to shoot up in your direction and sees the bartender smiling at you and reaching her hand over to rest on your forearm. âYeah, not happening.â Leah quickly stands up from her seat and pushes past people to make her way over to you.
When she gets to you she gently wraps an arm around your waist not to startle you and pulls you back into her chest. She gives her glare that she usually saves for the pitch to the bartender, making her quickly release your arm and turn her attention to another customer waiting at the other end of the bar.
Leah smiles when you relax into her and she whispers in your ear, âYouâve been avoiding me.â You slowly turn around until you are face to face with her and say. âHurts doesnât it?â
âI deserve that. Why donât we go have a chat and I will explain myself?â Leah says, moving her hand to grab yours. âReally? You want to talk now and here?â you scoff.
Leah just nods and gently pulls your hand so that you follow her out to the back patio of the pub. She sits on a bench that is a little bit away from the loud building and pulls your hand down to sit next to her.
âYou know you shouldnât just flirt with anyone, she could've just been charming you into being her next one nightstand,â she says.
âHmm, pot meets kettle huh? You would know,â you scoff pulling your hand away from hers.
âNo, I wouldnât, because we are more than that,â she firmly replies.
âIt sure doesnât feel like it sometimes.â
âI know,â she sighs, focusing on her shoes, âbut I can explain.â
You look at her and slightly nod your head giving her the indication to keep talking.
âI love everything about us. I love how we are with each other. How easy it is to be around you and the connection that we have. Iâm just scared of the reality of us being together because it seems too good to be true,â she confesses. âDonât get me wrong I do want to be with you and I am serious about you but there is this nagging feeling in my head that I am going to screw it all up.â
You grab her hands gently and say, âThatâs completely understandable Leah, I wish you would have communicated with me about how you felt earlier. However, you canât make future assumptions about something you or we havenât even tried yet. Neither of us has any idea of what could happen but it doesnât mean push away and hide from it.â
You continue, âYou are looking too far into the future when you should be focusing on right now. That self-sabotaging brain of yours is going to stall you for great things one day.â you giggle pushing her head away making her laugh too.
After the giggles die down she says, âYou are completely right. If you allow me to give thisâŠus another try I am willing to put my all into it. I just ask that you give me that reassurance.â
âI can give you that, but you have to promise to communicate with me.â you nod raising your hand to move a piece of hair out of her face.
âI promise to communicate my feelings to you,â she replies leaning into your hand.
You smile and stand up from the bench pulling her up with you to give her a hug resting your head against hers. Leah pulls back a bit to give you a few quick pecks on the lips causing you to giggle and move away.
âMy girl,â she whispers, pulling you back against her and laying one last kiss on the side of your head.
____________________
Since that day Leah has kept her promise of communicating more and you have kept yours by reassuring her when she needed it. She even asked you to officially be with her a couple weeks later and it had felt as though something shifted in the air.
She was constantly texting, calling, and wanting to be attached to your hip. When you too were with each other in person she would constantly cling to you but you were okay with it since that is what you were wanting from the beginning.

what if Danny give no fu-ks
Ok hear me out, Dannys obsession has never truest been confirmed by the show itself (that I remember) I've seen a lot of people say his obsession comes from wanting to help / protect people. But what if he feels as though that he is now doing more damage than good, after all there are a lot of people getting hurt as colateral damage from the chases he has to go on. Or simply when he has to run away from getting captured.
What if one night he was up late and saw a post about a tragedy that happened because he slipped up (it wasn't even his fault, but he still blames himself for everything). And then he starts looking at all the bad comments against him ignoring all the good ones saying how much Danny Phantom has helped Amity. Because Danny is still human and confirmation bias is real. Imagine how he felt the moment he realized that he was causing people to get hurt instead of keeping them save.
Image the desperation clawing at him with the realization that he has never been able to fully manage his obsession. it makes him sad, desperate, angry.
His entire self is filled with too many emotions at the sametime he isn't even able to identify them and catalogue them properly like Jazz taught him.
and then everything stops and he feels nothing.
Completely and utterly numb.
Like his whole reason to keep going suddenly disappears.
And it has.
He gave up on his obsession and now he has to make / get a new one.
But it's not that easy.
This drastic change could've ended any ghost as they run on (live off) emotions.
Luckily because he's a Halfa, so that has given him the upper hand. Unfortunately it makes it so that he is completely devoid of any emotion.
Months go by and people immediately notice changes, the more drastic one is that Phantom went missing, and eventually a lot of ghost that where coming in looking for him stop. Amity Park is no longer populated by ghosts, and slowly the GIW started to retreat from Amity going to another place following a lead that says there are more ghost activities up north.
But those changes aren't the only ones noticeable. Dannys classmates and teachers can vouch that Danny has changed. Most say he was always quite , and others say he looked down right depressed. Danny didn't do much in classes not that he paid attention before. Its just this time it seems that its not out of being sleepy or anxious about another ghost attacking the school instead Danny looks like he coundn't give less of a fu-k about anything.
He never smiles anymore not even when his favorite subjects (mechanics and space) are brought up. Not even a quirk of a smile. The school decided to contact his parents about Dannys new behaviors. That includes skipping classes, not handing in work, not doing the assigned work in class ect....
And its not like his parents havent noticed, they've had more time in their hands since they aren't using hours of the day/night going out hunting anymore. and they have witnessed their son become a shell of himself. They don't know what to do, and they don't want to worry Jazz about it because she's at collage and needs to focus on her studies.
So when the school contact them and told them that the behavior is the same in school they decided major changes needed to happen. Starting with a change of environment.
Maddie and Jack decided that Amity park was too big of a city with too many people. They could nearly see the stars at night because of the light pollution, hence they decided to move next door to Alicia, Maddie sister, home in SmallVille.
They decided it was the best choice, Danny would be surrounded by nature and he could do online classes that would go the pace he wanted. The move was immediate, the day off they packed everything sold the house and moved.
They only stopped to say goodbye to Danny's friends. A small bye and hug later they were on a 7 hour road trip to their new home.
When they got there the old resident handed them the keys of the home and told them to ignore the their neighbors 'The Kents' as they often made a lot of noice and had group gatherings every month.
The one thing Jack and Maddie forgot to double check was if the house was an actual house or a farm house. Sounds similar, but completely different as they now had 2 cows, 16 chickens, 1 rooster, and 3 pigs to take care off.
Danny was put on duty of taking care of the animals, such as feeding them on time and making sure they were healthy. Jack and Maddie made more of the heavy weight as to re building broken fences and fixing the questionable roof.
(The first thing Danny did when meeting all the animals was name them. After all this was about all the interaction he was going to do.)
Danny didn't have time to think about his lost obsession or his lack of emotions as he was now too busy making sure each animal was taken care off.
Marcy and linda (the cows) were danny's favorite they were very gentle and he felt that they could understand him when he spoke to them the stories of his vigilante past.
On the other hand The Chickens were a nightmare, Glinda was cool as she never chased him down. But Matilda and Bethany were a nightmarish duo spiteful too when he was seconds late to the finding time. Mark the rooster was chill he mainly acted as of he was part of the group that needed protection.
Marice, Betty, and Miss Piggy were the chillest of the bunch never gave Danny any trouble when feeding them and always made a point that they loved their new mudbath installation that Danny made for them on his first 2 days on the farm.
A month after arriving at the farm house Danny noticed that mark was missing. Danny looked everywhere around the property and saw him from afar, at the road. So Danny did the sensible thing anyone would do when spotting a run away pet, and that is call their name at the top of your lungs whilst running after them.
naturally Mark the escape artist run the opposite direction. By the time Danny caught up to him Danny didn't recognize the house he was infant off. So with Mark comfortably in his arms He swears he can see a smug look on marks face. Danny turned away from the house to start his walk back to the farm, but he was met with a kid his age looking at him with distrust.
"Ehhh look kid Im sorry to have crossed the properties border but Mark here" Danny made a point to acentuate Mark in his arms "Runaway from me this morning and I've been trying to catch him ever since, anyways I need to go feed the girls"
The kid starred at him for a second "OMG your from the new family in Mr.duncans farm right? in Aver ST.?" and wow the kid was like a ray of sunshine.
"Yea-" Danny could even finish his sentence before the kid cut him off by starting to talk a mile a minute about how he was so exited to meet people his age that lived near by and how farm chores were harder that normal house chores.
"Jon, give him time to respond. Im Damian this is Jon" Danny jumped he hadn't noticed the second kid at all
"Oh yeah... sorry about that what's your name?" The kid (Jon) slightly less enthusiasm, a bit embarrassed if his tone of voice was anything to get by.
"Danny, Im 15" he responded before he started walking away after all he did need to get in time to feed the chickens unless he wants to suffer their furry. Danny shuddered at the memory that popped up in his head.
"Wait!!! I just thought we could be friends cause we live close by u know" Jon said catching up with Dannys steps. Damian was following from behind.
"Sure kid I don't care" Dannys voice was monotone much like it had been for months.
"Hey were not kids for your information, Im 14 and Damians 16 soon to be 17, so if anything you night be the actual kid!" Danny chuckled slightly it was more similar to releasing air from his lips than a laugh.
Soon a quite and enjoyable science encompassed the group as they went to Dannys home.
"Hmm... you're hold on Mark is adequate and the your determination for getting home in time for feeding is acceptable" Damian spoke up after a while of the passive silence.
"yeah and what is It to you" Danny was slightly urked by Damians default setting speach. He told him as such.
Jon blanched before erupting into giggles that sent him to lay down on the grass uncontrollably laughing. Damians right eyebrow quirked up in what Danny assumed was amusement.
Thus a new friendship grew that day.
They often gathered at Dannys or Jons yard to have picnic in the weekends (as Damian and Jon has school in Metropolis on week days) and hangout with the animals. Danny found out that Damian was a vegetarian and that he had various animals at home. One time he brought his Great Dane Titus, who bodied Danny on sight to give him kisses.
Also Damian was Damian Wayne as in bruce Wayne, Batman sugar daddy. When he said that, Jons milk flew out of his nose and Damian choked on his cucumber wrap. Even Titus gave him a judgemental stare.
Slowly Danny started to smile more, laugh every so often. And things were feeling so much better after not being able to feel anything for a while.
Jazz, Aunt Alicia and especially Maddie and Jack felt so relived to see that Danny was slowly coming back to them.
Danny to this day backs the fact that Mark knew something and planned the whole thing.
#dc x dp#dpxdc#dp x dc crossover#danny fenton#mark the chicken is definitely a meta with super intelligence

Baby fever Scenarios and Headcanons with Husband!Simon "Ghost" Riley (Ghostie)
Thank my baby godson for this one, if it hadn't been for him having me take care of him for the whole day then I wouldn't have anything to write because as of now I have no motivation or ideas to continue my past wips. Render credits are all to the lovely @ave661 who keeps feeding us. My little godson still sleeping on my chest, drool, snore and all as I'm writing this. I can't move, please send help. This is so short too, sorry to disappoint you guys đ
Y'all CANNOT tell me I'm the only one who thinks of Simon "Ghost" Riley having baby fever from his own children (I would give him more, all he needs to do is ask đ). Also these are basically moments of Simon with Ghostie, just a bit more general in terms of the baby's gender since some of y'all want boy!dad Simon but originally Ghostie is a girl.

â„ Babyfever!Dad!Simon who loves to toss the baby up in the air, simply just for amusement and both of them needed entertainment. Safe to say Soap never did that until the little one was a lot older because when he did it, he ended up with a glob of drool on his face.
â„ Babyfever!Dad!Simon who is always so vocal with his baby, you could just tell the influence of him talking to the baby. Just the rumble of his voice sends the tiny one into a fit of giggles while they're on his chest.
â„ Babyfever!Dad!Simon who was influenced by you to do that viral thing on the internet, people throwing a slice of cheese on their crying baby to make them stop. It worked and they ate it.. now he keeps the fridge stocked with sliced cheese for that reason.
â„ Babyfever!Husband!Simon who was determined to assemble everything, baby's crib, the car seat.. though the bottle sterilizer was something he needed your help with. Both of you trying to figure where the missing piece went only to find your little one chewing on it.
â„ Babyfever!Dad!Simon who comes home late at night yet his little one follows him like a mother duck, as much as he wants to, Simon refused to have contact until he's out and squeaky clean from a shower. Always worrying about how they might catch something from outside while the little one is directly outside the bathroom door waiting for their dad and peeking from the little space underneath the door, knocking every 3 minutes for dada to come out.
â„ Babyfever!Dad!Simon who has the time of his life teaching the baby CPR, it started as a joke between the 141 and now your baby knows the word and knows what to do in response to it, the bunny stuffie is the one receiving the medical attention with the little crisp giggle after Simon praises them.
â„ Babyfever!Dad!Simon who you find laughing his ass off at Soap who was forced by the puppy eyes of your little one to wear a pink tutu that was on the verge of breaking from his size, glittered fairy wings that were made of wire and horrid quality of pink mesh fabric, a plastic tiara and a light up fairy wand. They forced him to do ballet. (Gaz definitely had that as his phone's wallpaper for a month)
â„ Babyfever!Dad!Simon who love cherishing little moments of how the world reminds him of how naive, dumb and gullible his little one could be. Having a leash kid yet for a completely different reason from misbehaving and being too hyperactive. Walking on a bridge with him over a river as a little family outing at the park when your little one pointed at the aggressive stream of water underneath, Simon jokingly asking them if they want to be tossed in and without a word they turn to you with their arms up and wiggling for uppies. When that didn't work they turned to their dad doing the same thing, making Simon chuckle so much that he almost coughed as they slowly let their arms drape back down to their sides, little pout in disappointment. You playfully glared at your husband, having to explain to a toddler why they can't swim in a strong stream of dirty water.
â„ Babyfever!Dad!Simon who is very much amused about how the baby likes his stuble, hoping he won't cause a rash to them because of how much they press their face into his. He makes sure it's extremely well kept after the very first time it happened đ.
â„ Babyfever!Dad!Simon who loves seeing his toddler in their sleep shirt which is basically just his shirt drooping on the floor because it's too big for them but the they're chunky enough to keep it on themselves. Just thinking of Simon hearing the loud stomps of footsteps approving their bedroom, the short pause of silence before the frantic sound of the door knob jingling, he always knew who was about to enter the room. Holding their bunny stuffie while pulling on the blanket of their dad's side of the bed to ask him for help to climb up.

The joy of missing out \\ Lando Norris
summary: You and Lando celebrate your birthday on the same day. While he's planning a big party, you'd rather spend the night on your own. Not like he's gonna let that happenâŠ
additional info: Alpine!driver!reader. Have you heard "The joy of missing out" by AleXa? No? That's what I was listening to while writing this.
This year you didnât feel like celebrating your birthday. You just wanted to stay under the warm blanket, binge-watching your favorite comfort show and eating pizza all day.
You werenât really on speaking terms with your family after a stupid argument at a family gathering last year, and your old friends believed you changed a lot since you joined F1, so they werenât exactly keen to spend time with you either, especially after you relocated to Monaco like so many of the drivers did. This left you getting more and more comfortable with the idea of being alone, spending your limited free time in your apartment instead of attending parties you were invited to.
On the most recent race weekend though, Lando and Oscar caught you in the paddock and the three of you started chatting, soon being joined by other drivers, and the conversation shifted to Landoâs upcoming birthday. They were planning on partying together, even now they were talking about who would bring who, if they should spend the night at the same place, or move around, maybe heading to the place of one of them.
It was only after a good ten minutes that something dawned on Lando. âWait, your birthday is on the same day,â he told you, the little light bulb above his head almost visible. âThatâs great! You should invite your friends too!â The Brit got excited at the thought, but when he noticed you were just shaking your head, he could tell you would say no to the whole thing. âYouâre not planning on missing out, are you?â
As you let out an annoyed groan, the others began to try and convince you, saying it was great that they could celebrate not one, but two birthdays that year, and you were like everyoneâs little sister, you were practically family, so this party was mandatory for you. Last year you missed it because you were with your family and friends back home, spending time with them as you usually did when you had the time, but this year it was an open secret that youâd rather retreat into your shell after race weekends.
âGuys, I just⊠donât feel like celebrating, thatâs all. You all have fun, but you can count me out,â you told them, then said goodbye and decided to go back to the Alpine motorhome to be alone for a while.
Halfway there, you suddenly felt someone put an arm around your shoulder, making you come to a halt to see who it was. You were met by Landoâs shining eyes, the mischievous smile telling you he was here to try and convince you to join them. But instead of giving you a speech full of reasons why you should join them, he decided to start with something else, something a lot more personal.
âLook, I can tell something is wrong. What happened? Last year you spent so much time with your family, your friends, and even with us. Now? Now I can see you getting cozy at your place, ignoring everyone until itâs absolutely necessary to be around people. Iâm worried,â he added, and the look in his eyes told you he was telling the truth.
âIâm fine, trust me.â But Lando didnât buy it, he just rolled his eyes and raised an eyebrow, expecting you to finally be honest with him. âMy relationships are dying, because apparently, I changed too much since Iâve been here. Why bother?â
Without a proper warning, Lando pulled you into a hug, his chin resting on your shoulder while you relaxed in his arms. It surprised you, but didnât feel all that bad, to be honest. Youâd been craving physical contact for months now, after all. âThe party wouldnât be the same without you. And I was planning to do so much, like getting you to be stuck to me the whole night, dancing together, drinking together, maybe letting me kiss you,â he finished as he pulled back to look at you with a wolfish grin.
To kiss you? Thatâs what he wanted? It would be a lie if you said you hadnât thought about this, because there were times when you wished he would do that, but you usually got rid of these thoughts quite fast. It would complicate things, and complication was something you didnât need in your life now. But God, he was so handsome, and so cute, and soâ
Your train of thought was interrupted when you felt his lips on yours, moving slowly to see how you would react, waiting for the opportunity to truly get lost in it. And when you kissed him back, he moved his hand to the back of your head, tangling his fingers into your hair, moaning softly into the kiss. The world around you ceased to exist, and you just enjoyed the moment, completely forgetting that the paddock was full of people who wouldnât hesitate to take photos of the two of you.
When he finally pulled away to breathe, you gulped and watched him with uncertainty. Was he just playing with you? Or was he serious about this? Oh, why couldnât he see you as a sister like the rest of the drivers did?
âSo, I believe youâre coming to the party,â he spoke up with a smile. âThe birthday boy is dying to spend the evening kissing the birthday girl. Maybe even sneaking away to have some fun in private,â he added before giving you a quick kiss again.
âHave some fun in private?â
With a wide grin on his face, Lando leaned closer to whisper the answer in your ear. âI have a special surprise for you. Youâll love it,â he told you in a sultry voice that made you gulp.
Well, it was safe to say he was probably several steps ahead of you in this.

â lost to time ft. sae itoshi
â warnings: angst, character death, slight ooc?
â author's note: a reupload of my favorite work on sae while i finish editing the next 2 chapters of my hazbin series. enjoy!
â first recording
âhi sae! i heard from rin that youâll be leaving for spain. iâm really sorry i couldnât come to see you off, iâve been busy studying, you know, for exams and stuff. but thatâs beside the point! i wish you all the best sae! do your best and when you come back home, you better be the worldâs best striker yeah? donât worry, everything will pass by quickly so donât miss me too much ok?â
sae hated planes. he hated them quite a lot. in was a constant reminder of that time when he was only 14, leaving home to go to spain to live out his dreams only for it to be crushed 4 years later. sae hated the airport, it was always so busy and so stuffy and so cramped. he hated the feeling of being surrounded by unfamiliar strangers, hated the feeling of people brushing up against him even if they didnât really mean it. sae hated winter. it was the season he severed his bond with his precious little brother after all. it was the season he turned his back on him and it was the season he had wished to never relive again.
-
â second recording
âhey hey guess whoâs sending you another voice message? itâs me obviously, why didnât you tell me you were back already?! if you did i wouldâve picked you up from the airport!
âŠâŠ
is something the matter sae? you havenât picked up any of your parentsâ calls and their really worried about you. you can always talk to me remember? iâll always be here to listen, ok? donât bottle everything up, itâll do more bad than good. well, i have to go now. talk with your parents every once in a while will you? ever since you left for spain youâve pretty much cut off all contact, even with me. thatâs all, good night sae.â
sae didnât really like flowers. he thought they were a hassle. plants that require specific needs and if not met, theyâll wilt. sae was never fond of them but here he was, standing in front of the counter of a local flower shop as the elderly shopkeeper wrapped a bouquet â filled with carnations, gardenias, lilies, roses, and chrysanthemums.Â
everything passes.
â college; third recordings
âi got into my dream college sae! can you believe that! honestly, i was really nervous when i took the entrance exams, but thankfully i studied real hard and managed to pass! iâll be moving into the dorms soon. iâm gonna miss home. oh and rin! i heard he got into a soccer program recently, isnât that nice! heâs following your footsteps in becoming the best striker in the world. i know, i know, you arenât a striker anymore but itâs still nice to know that youâre still into soccer at least. by the way, when will you come back home? i kind of miss you, you know. i never got to see you off and when you did come back i was out of town and really busy. what about we plan a meetup or something in the near future? you know, make up for the times we lost? oh, i have to go now! my parents are helping me move in to my dorm. catch you later sae!â
sae didnât really like coming home. the house he grew up in for the first 14 years of his life felt too foreign to be called home anymore. his parents felt like distant strangers that he just met a couple weeks ago â they felt more like acquaintances than his mother and father. the photos framed around his home felt like ancient relics from thousands of years ago, he didnât recognize them. sae didnât recognize himself.Â
maybe he spent too much time in spain to the point where it felt more like home. how ironic, he began to realize. he had flown back to japan to escape from his hell that was spain but here he was, in his home, in the bedroom he used to sleep in for endless nights, wanting to go back to the place that left his heart hollow.
âthereâs nothing else i could do.â he tried to convince himself as he sat down on his childhood bed, the bouquet of flowers at his side. he could only sigh and let himself fall back into the bed of his long gone home. âeverything passes.â
âhey hey hey itâs me again! how have you been sae? iâd like to think that iâve adjusted pretty well in college. made a few new friends and met some old ones. honestly, i almost didnât recognize them! i mean, do you remember makoto from middle school. he was a such a problem child back then and now look at him! heâs a scholar now! i guess everyone just starts to become more mature after hitting 18, who knows. thank you again, for the gift. i was definitely shocked when my roommate told me i had a package from you. i canât believe you still remember that i wanted âno longer humanâ! thank you, iâll be sure to treasure it. well, thatâs all for today. call you some other time sae!â
everything passes.

â drunk recordings; the words i wish i couldâve told you sooner
âhow do you work this again? ah got it! hehe, hi again sae! iâm at a party right now, man maybe you were right, i do have shit alcohol tolerance. but itâs fine. donât worry, iâm already on my way home and the driver isnât some creepy dude that might kill me.
âŠâŠ
you know, i like you very much but i donât think youâll believe me. i know i jokingly said that we should marry each other if we arenât dating someone if we hit our 30s, but i kinda wanna marry you even if we arenât 30 yet. is that weird? i really miss you. please come home.â
âŠâŠ
âhello? god that was so embarrassing⊠sorry, could you just forget about what i said in the last recording? um just, gosh i donât even know. denying it wonât really help right haha⊠itâs in the past now so donât mull over too much ok? please, just disregard that last recording. iâm really sorry, it was just me being drunk.â
sae did not in fact disregard that recording. in fact, sometimes in the dead of night heâd think about it and wonder, if he had replied to that specific recording would things have ended differently?Â
sae didnât like deep and evoking questions about âwhat ifâsâ, he finds them annoying most of the time. and yet here he was now entertaining the idea. bouquet in hand as he casually walked around the neighborhood that the both of you had grew up in. the same twists and turns, same houses, same playground, same everything.
yet the silence was too loud, even for him.
everything passes.
-
â graduation recordings
âwell, i think itâs safe to say i survived. i graduated sae, are you proud? man i still canât believe i was a few point from getting the valedictorian spot but oh well. alls well that ends well i suppose. i heard you won your recent match congratulations mr best midfielder! kinda wish i was there to see it, but donât worry! in your next match iâll definitely save up enough money and buy those tickets to spain and your match one day! just you wait, iâll be the screaming my lungs out and support you, iâm still your number one fan after all!â
sae had some feelings of dissatisfaction when you did not in fact get those tickets to spain and his match. maybe it was his wishful thinking but he really did wish you were there. but he knew it was impossible.Â
he remembered the feeling of anger and frustration running through his veins, cursing the heavens above because he felt the need to show the gods his emotions. sae hated thinking about you in that moment. he hated how he felt like he was in a new version of hell whenever you just happened to cross his mind. sae hated you very much.
everything passes.
-
â recordings from 2 years ago
âiâm sorry. i know you shouldâve heard it from me but i guess my family beat me to it haha. to be perfectly honest with you sae, i had no plans of telling you. iâm sorry. its just, the thought of breaking the news to you. how could i ever do that to you? iâm sorry. god iâm so sorry sae.â
âŠâŠ
âhey. i received the gift you sent me. you didnât have to , you know. now i kinda feel bad about having you go on break in the middle of soccer season because of me. but still, thank you. i appreciated you being here, with me. it was a refreshing feeling, talking to you again and just hanging out. work has been really stuffy and felt like i was being caged but you came. you suddenly appeared and suddenly everything was alright again. i know we only said goodbye a couple minutes ago but, i miss you already. sorry. this sounds really weird doesnât it? anyways, thank you again for the gift. iâll be sure to wear it everyday. thatâs all, have a good night sae.â
âŠâŠ
âhey. sorry for calling at such an odd time. i just. i just felt a little lonely. i sound so stupid iâm sorry. good night sae.â
âŠâŠ
âmakoto dropped by today. god he was as annoying as ever but he really cheered me up. he managed to confess to this girl heâs pining over since sophomore year. iâm happy for him. but it really got me thinking about us. i know i told you to forget about that one recording because i was drunk but now that i look back on it, i wasnât really honest. to you and myself. i know this may be the worst timing to confess but yeah, i like you very much. since primary school, as cliche as it may sound i think it all started when you stood up for me from those bullies. now that i think about, i practically glued myself to your side ever since that day didnât i? iâm glad you didnât really mind that. i remember always using homework as an excuse to always have you hang out with me even though i completely understood the lesson. man, where did i get the confidence to do that stuff? but i guess those times are lost in the sands of the past i guess. oh right, sorry, i forgot you didnât really like those type of stuff. getting all deep and whatnot. well thatâs all, iâm getting pretty tired already so iâll head to bed. good night sae.â
everything passes.
-
â present
âhi. thank you by the way. i donât know, i just donât think iâve ever said that you recently. so, thank you. its a bit funny isnât it? i would almost always talk your ear off every recording but this time, i canât even find the words to say. my parents came over, talked to them a bit. rin visited as well. heâs gotten a lot taller than i last saw him, heâs probably taller than you now!
âŠâŠ
sae, thank you. for everything. iâm glad we stayed in touch. iâm glad we stayed as friends. thank you for making my days seem just a tad bit brighter, though sometimes i wonder what it would be like if we were, you know, dating. wonder what the difference would be. i mean weâd still talk to each other right? maybe holding hands and kisses but thatâs pretty much it right? but thinking about it is useless right now. maybe in an alternate universe were actually married and adopted a cat like how we used to talk about.â
âyou know, before this very moment. i accepted my fate already. i was content, i was doing fine but now. sae, i donât want to die.â
âplease remember me ok? and iâll be sure to remember you. iâll see you again, sae.â
ânii-chan..â
sae could only put his phone back in his pocket. his younger brother standing a good distance away from him. he could only imagine how rin looked like right now. was he pitying him, grieving with him? heâll never know because he will never turn to look at him. not when your right in front of him.
how many times had he played all your recordings for the past 2 years? maybe a little over a 100 times? maybe close to 200 now?
sae removed all those thoughts as he placed the bouquet on the ground, the wind seemed to answer to his call â you seemed to answer to his call. despite all the pain, all the misery, all the bitter waves of grief that flooded his being whenever he played your recordings, he couldnât bring himself to stop. he didnât want to forget what you sounded like. your voice reminded him too much of home.
âhappy birthday you idiot.â he said to you, keeping his hands in his pockets, watching the leaves of the flowers in the bouquet sway with the wind. two pieces of paper underneath it threatened to be blown away. âyou said you wanted to come visit me and watch my match, well now you can.â two pieces of paper, one a plane ticket to spain the other a ticket to his upcoming match two weeks from now. âyou better come watch me alright?â he could only bitterly smile.Â
âyouâre 30 now,â he whispered, before getting on one knee. placing a velvet box in front of your gravestone. âyou shouldâve waited for me, you idiot.â sae could only mutter those words to no one in particular. it was as if the world had stopped for a moment, the wind had stopped howling, the sun was nowhere to be seen. he could only see you. âi wanted to marry you too, yâknow.â
sae could remember every occurrence where he would sit at his balcony in spain every night after your passing. phone to his ear, listening to all your recordings. but youâll never know how he replies to them, every single one of them with his own.Â
âi told the stars about you and what we couldâve had.â he chuckled, âyouâre by far the hardest lesson i had to learn.â
standing up from his kneeling position, he gave you one last look before walking away. rin followed suit, but not before placing something at your grave. a pink book that you had loved till the very end.Â
sae hated planes, but he flew back to japan every year. sae didnât really like flowers, but every year heâd get you a pretty bouquet. sae didnât like coming home but if it meant getting to visit you, heâd come back over and over again. sae didnât like reading or any deep and evoking questions but he always humored you whenever you asked him.
sae hated all those things but they reminded him too much of you to let them go.Â
and just like your favorite author, when osamu dazai asked to die, he simplu agreed; but just before his death, he suddenly felt obsession with life.
everything passes. just like how youâll eventually get lost in the sands of time.

"Did you delete her number yet?" Nat asked as she lifted her helmet and Bob's off of the shelf in the hangar where their gear was stored when they weren't flying. "Or are you trying to prolong the pain like some sort of sadistic artist?"
Bob flinched at her words, because she hit a little too close to home for his liking. It wasn't that he wanted to be missing Anna like this, but he had been writing a lot of poetry about her. He couldn't help himself. He hadn't posted any since the one about his bookshelf, but that didn't mean his computer wasn't full of it.
"I'm not trying to prolong the pain," he told his friend with a grimace. "I don't know what I'm doing."
She shoved his helmet down onto his head and told him, "I know she threw you for a loop, but either delete her number or give her another chance. Don't sit in this annoying gray area. I don't know why you guys insist on doing that shit. I tried for ten years to get Bradley to contact his wife, but he just flounced around in the gray area like an idiot instead. Don't be like him," she said firmly, pointing to where Bradley was looking down at his phone with a dopey smile on his face. He was almost definitely texting his wife if he looked like that.
Bob sighed. "Nat, I don't know if she wants me to give her another chance right now. She said she's going to deal with her husband, but I think she needs time."
Nat rolled her eyes and held her hands up in the air. "Why don't you," she said, waving her fingers like she was performing magic, "talk to her again?!"
Bob pulled his helmet off again, saying, "What would you suggest I say? She already knows I've had feelings for her for months. There's just a point where it becomes too much."
"You could tell her that even though it blew up in your face, she's the best lay of your life." Bob immediately wished he hadn't told her that. "Or that you'll still be around after she figures her shit out. I think the ball is in your court."
He was still blushing furiously and nowhere closer to knowing what he should be doing when they all got called to the tower, but he did smile when Nat snapped at Bradley to put his phone away. She probably needed to get laid more than Bob ever did.
---------------------------
The bus ride from San Diego to Carlsbad shouldn't take an hour and a half when it would take barely forty minutes to drive yourself. Not for the first time, Anna wished she had a car in California. That way she could get to Kevin faster. Kevin. Fucking Kevin. The man who was the reason she didn't have a car in California.
She needed to stay calm. If she could catch him while his guard was down and convince him to just sign the paperwork, she would be golden. But every time she thought about seeing his face, she started to panic. She had seen nothing except kind faces for months. The faces of her friends. The faces of her students. Bob's beautiful blue eyes always seemed to look at her with a smile behind them. Even now, after she met up with him for a little bit at the bookstore, his eyes were kind.
Her hands shook slightly. She needed to deal with Kevin so she could move on and never have to see him again. Then she could work on getting back to the people who didn't look at her like she was worthless. When the bus finally fought its way through traffic and made a stop near the hotel where the conference was being held, she sprinted down the steps and up the block. She had already memorized the map and knew she needed to find the grand ballroom, but when she got to the upscale hotel, she was sweaty and panting for breath, and even the doorman was looking at her skeptically as she slipped inside.
The lobby was crowded enough that she padded her way across the marble floor in her beat up sneakers, blending in well enough with the others. Signs for the National Neurological Physicians Association conference were plastered all over the place, and she had to keep from rolling her eyes. It was laughable that physicians from all over would come here to listen to Kevin blathering on and on about his specialty area of study. But when Anna paused to really think about it for a second, something close to cold fury started flowing through her veins, because she was the one who paid for that for him. She was the reason he was a speaker at this massive conference in the first place.
With renewed purpose, she picked up her pace and turned right past the elevator bank, following the signs that led her toward several people in monogrammed lab coats. The ballroom was in sight, and she was ready to push through the double doors when one of the men in a lab coat popped up in front of her.Â
"Not so fast," he said, a forced smile plastered on his face. "You're late for the introductory speakers, and you haven't signed in yet."
"Oh," she said, scrambling to push her bag up on her shoulder. "Right." When he gestured toward a long table with some unclaimed name badges and information booklets, Anna's heart skipped a beat. She took a step closer, praying nobody would ask her for any sort of identification, and reached for the badge that said Dr. Angela Harmon, MD. She clipped it onto her shirt, realizing she was terribly under dressed to even try to pull this off, and then she picked up the booklet with Dr. Harmon's name on it as well. "Is this all I need?" she asked, tapping the name badge and praying this random woman didn't decide to show up right now.
With a nod, the man said, "Please try to find a seat at the back to keep disruption to a minimum. I believe Dr. Webber is still speaking, and you know how excited we all are to have him here."
Anna had to bite down on the inside of her cheek and take a deep breath before she could say, "So excited," through clenched teeth. "I wouldn't dream of being disruptive."
"Of course not," he agreed, finally smiling kindly. "Enjoy the conference, Dr. Harmon."
Carefully and as quietly as she could, Anna entered the ballroom to find hundreds of people sitting in rows of chairs listening to her worthless husband giving a presentation in a three piece suit.Â
"But we already know recent attempts to update computational axial tomography are largely like someone trying to reinvent the wheel," he said with a charming smile, and the room hummed with amused laughter like everyone was in on some sort of inside joke. Anna's skin crawled as she carefully took a seat in the last row, praying Kevin hadn't seen her yet. If he was this well known and well regarded in his field, then he didn't need money from her manuscript. He was simply holding onto it to be an ass.
She had to listen to him for twenty more minutes after that. Nineteen too long in her book. His voice sounded light and carefree, and his smile was handsome and unassuming. Frankly he was putting on some sort of persona, and it was nothing like she was used to. But it wasn't until he started on a short presentation that Anna's attention was piqued, because it was then that she saw he was using the laptop that they used to share. The one she used to type up her book.
A soft sound escaped her as she stared longingly at it, wondering if her work was still there. He slammed the computer shut, and she was jolted back to reality as he said, "Once again, thank you all for being here for the next week. We have so many groundbreaking topics to learn about and some of the most renowned research physicians in the country sharing their expertise with us. Let's take a quick break and then dive right into new MRI techniques with Dr. Nunez."
There was an immediate round of applause, and Anna jumped to her feet, heart pounding so hard, it was making her nauseous. When she headed toward his cocky, smiling face, she realized Kevin was already surrounded by colleagues, shaking hands and laughing. And that was when he spotted her. They'd been on the phone just a handful of hours ago, but he looked shocked to see her here. She watched his sharp, gray eyes narrow in on her with a spiteful glare before he smoothed out his features into something neutral. And that's when she came to terms with the fact that he would know she was living in southern California. That's when she knew she needed to make this work.
"Anna," he said with absolutely no emotion as she cut in front of the person he was talking to. "What are you doing here?"
She swallowed hard, imagining Bob and her two friends were with her, urging her on, cheering for her to fix this. "I have something for you to sign," she told him as her voice shook. She took a step closer as she reached into her bag to pull out the folded paperwork and a pen.
"No," he practically growled under his breath, trying not to draw more attention to himself. "Why are you doing this here? I'm a little busy."
Anna wanted to laugh in his face. She was a little busy trying to get on with her stupid life, but that didn't stop him from disrupting her mission every day. "Just sign the divorce papers, Kevin," she demanded, but she sounded like a child even to her own ears. His eyes flashed with so much anger, she could barely breathe with him this close to her. He was built similarly to Bob, which was a frightening realization. Where Kevin always used his size as an intimidation tactic, Bob had never done that to her. She always felt safe around him. Right now she felt very unsafe around Kevin, even though they were literally in the midst of a crowd of people.
"Just sign it," she whispered, trying to push the document into his solid chest. It was unbelievable that at one time, she was in love with this man. It was crazy to think about how he used to tell her he loved her too. "Please, Kevin." He looked so angry right now, and Anna felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand up in fear as the people behind her started whispering.
"Who is this woman? That's not Alyssa."
"Did she say divorce? Isn't he married to that other physician? The pregnant one?"
So Alyssa was pregnant. And nobody here even knew about Anna. It was like she didn't even exist. Like she had never existed to her husband. A mortifying little sob bubbled free from the back of her throat, and she looked up at Kevin as he said, "Let's take a little walk."
His hand closed around her bicep, and Anna wanted to yelp as he pulled her up onto the stage, past the podium, where nobody else would be able to hear them. The laptop was right there, and she considered trying to take it, but she'd never make it out of the hotel let alone back to her apartment with it. Instead she tripped along next to him until he had her where he wanted her.
"Are you out of your fucking mind?" he snarled. "Were you always this stupid? Or have you gotten worse?"
"Come on, Kevin," she pleaded, and he finally released her throbbing arm. "You don't need it. Look how well you're doing. You don't need my book."
He shook his head and ran his fingers through his hair as if he was trying his hardest to keep his composure. "You think you can come here and embarrass me in front of my peers? Mentioning our marriage like we still have one when you moved away?"
Her fist clenched at her side. "Our marriage didn't fall apart because I left," she hissed under her breath. "It fell apart because of you. And now your mistress is pregnant?"
Kevin sighed. "I understand that you're jealous, Anna. I really do, but I'm not signing anything for you."
She clenched and unclenched her fist. The desire to punch him in the face was so strong as her other hand shook with the papers grasped between her fingers. She was far from jealous, and he knew it. He wanted to get a rise out of her because he felt cornered. "I don't care what these people think about me," she whispered. "But you do. So just sign it."
He stood before her, tall and broad with his jaw set as he said, "There is no way in hell you have what it takes to intimidate me. Now get the fuck out of here, or I will have security remove you from the hotel for disrupting the conference."
She knew she didn't have any other choice. If she somehow got herself in trouble for being here, she didn't have the money to spend on more legal help. So she took a step backwards just as Kevin's hand flew up to pull the name badge from her shirt. "And you're obviously not Dr. Harmon. She has enormous tits, and I fucked her last year in Toronto. Now go."Â
Twenty minutes later, Anna was back on the bus heading south toward San Diego, empty handed with tears in her eyes and a bruised arm.
-----------------------------
"What happened to your pretty girlfriend?"
Bob looked up from his phone as he walked up his porch steps after a long run on Monday evening. He hadn't been sleeping well, debating reaching out to Anna again, and he was hoping the run would tire him out. But he should have known Suzanne would have her door open and her game shows blaring at this hour.
"Hi, Suzanne," he said, wishing he could just duck inside his own place without having to chat with her.
"I haven't seen her again in weeks."
Bob sighed and tipped his head back. "She's not my girlfriend. She never was."
"Not with that attitude," his neighbor mused under her breath.
"You have a good night, Suzanne." Bob swatted Sylvester away from his front door before heading inside and up to take a shower. He thought about Anna as he ran his soapy hands along his body. He tried not to, but she was on his mind a lot. When he climbed into bed, his skin felt too hot. He opened the window to let the late fall air in, but it did nothing to help him. He wanted to see her, even just to make sure she was still okay.
He reached for his phone, typed up a text, and then deleted it. "You sound so desperate for her," he groaned, trying again. But again he had to delete it rather than send it. Finally he settled on something simple.
Hey, I've been craving some peanuts from Chippy's. Feel like joining me for a bit tomorrow?
It sounded neutral enough. If she said no, he'd ask Jessica to make sure the ladies were checking in on her. If she said yes, then Bob could see with his own eyes if she was okay. He would also get to see with his own eyes how fucking beautiful she was, but that didn't matter as much, honestly.
He was just slipping into a daydream where Anna's husband divorced her tomorrow and never left the state of New Jersey again when his phone vibrated on his nightstand.
Anna Webber: Peanuts from Chippy's sound heavenly right now. I would love to join you for a little bit.
He exhaled as the cooler air finally met his skin, and he pulled his sheet over himself after he promised to meet her there.
----------------------------
Before she went down to the quad with her lunch bag, Anna adjusted her cardigan. She knew her sleeve was covering his bruised arm, but she felt naked all morning during her lectures anyway. She felt like her skin and the inside of her brain were on full display for everyone. She wondered when Alyssa was due. She wondered if Kevin slept with Dr. Harmon when he was in Toronto last June or last October. Perhaps both. She wondered how someone who was so full of shit could keep coming out ahead of her.
"Anna!"
At least her friends were still faithfully waiting for her at the weird looking tree. And at least Bob was making it a point to let her know she was welcome around him. She could hardly wait to go to Chippy's later.Â
"Hi," she said, plopping down in between them on the bench, adjusting her sleeve one more time before pulling her sad sandwich out. "What's new in the world of science and mathematics?"
Almost immediately, she had a container of veggies and a homemade ranch dip in her hand while her friend told her about a fascinating math conference she wanted to go to next year in Philadelphia. Apparently the dates were just announced, and you had to be someone important to even get an invitation. Anna loved that her friend already knew she was going to go, but it made her dwell on Kevin and his conference which was still going on in Carlsbad.
"Oh!" Jessica said as she poured some potato chips on her already delectable looking sandwich. "Jake and I are going to Cabo next month! A much needed break after the term ends."
"I love that for you," Anna told her, feeling jealous in spite of herself. And that made her feel even sadder. She almost winced when her other friend wrapped her arm around her, inadvertently mashing her hand against the bruise from Kevin.
"Don't worry. Bradley and I aren't going anywhere for term break. I wanted to, but his favorite Grateful Dead cover band is playing right here in San Diego on New Year's Eve, and he absolutely can't miss it. That would be a crime." Her voice was dripping with sarcasm which made Anna laugh. "How's your week going?" she asked cautiously.Â
Anna wanted to tell them all about going to the conference at the hotel. She wanted to tell them that she saw Kevin and left with less than nothing. She would tell them, but not right now when she only had a little bit of time before she had to give her Classics lecture. She didn't want to run the risk of arriving to the lecture hall with tears in her eyes.Â
Instead she softly said, "I'm going to see Bob later. Just a quick visit to Chippy's for some peanuts."
Jessica was instantly vibrating with excitement. "That's great. I think you and he will have fun!"
"We will," Anna confirmed. Even though it was a little awkward, she'd had a nice time with him at the bookstore. She always did. Because he was kind and sweet and literally the opposite of everything that Kevin turned out to be. She just wished there was some reality in which she could feel his arms around her again. "We will."
The end of lunch came way more quickly than she wanted it to, and Anna found herself mentally regrouping to try to find another way to get her manuscript. She taught her last two lectures and graded a handful of essays, counting down the minutes until she could see Bob again. His blue eyes would be soft when he looked at her, and his words would be enough to make her feel better even if they only engaged in some small talk.
When she only had thirty minutes until she was supposed to meet him, she printed off sixty copies of the quiz she would need for tomorrow afternoon. Anna locked her office door behind her as she headed down to the teacher's lounge to retrieve the quizzes before someone moved them, never to be seen again. She learned her lesson after last time that if you didn't grab them right away, there was a good chance they'd end up in the trash. Then she would drop them off before going to meet Bob.
----------------------------
Since he was running early, Bob decided to just head to Anna's office and meet her there. He'd been so antsy to see her, he showered and dressed in his favorite jeans and tee shirt in record time after work. Even though he'd only been in this one academic building one time, he remembered exactly how to get to her office. Having an outstanding sense of direction just came with the territory for a WSO, but her hallway also smelled like fresh baked bread.
When he rounded the last corner, Bob skidded to a halt and ducked back behind the wall. There was a man about his age who was vigorously jiggling Anna's doorknob. "Anna. Open the door so we can talk," he said calmly even as he pushed his fingers through his hair in exasperation. Bob didn't know who he was, but he had a bad feeling, and that's when the man turned his head and spotted him.
Bob squared his shoulders to try to match the other man's height as he rounded the corner completely and asked, "Are you looking for Dr. Webber?"
The other man appraised him with cool gray eyes and smirked. "Let me guess. You're sleeping with her?"
Bob's heart lurched into his stomach as the color drained from his face. He knew this had to be Kevin. He knew it without confirmation, and now he didn't know how the hell he was supposed to respond. So he simply kept his mouth shut while the other man took a step in his direction.
"She really likes to act so high and mighty. Very hypocritical in this scenario," he muttered, making Bob's skin crawl. "I can't believe her."
Bob swallowed hard, trying to figure out why Anna agreed to go to Chippy's today if she knew Kevin was in San Diego. All he knew about was what she'd told him when she came to his house. Bob didn't think he should divulge too much to this man, so he simply asked, "What do you want from her?"
The answer was swift and felt like a punch to the gut. "She's my wife, and she's coming back to New Jersey with me where I can keep track of her. She doesn't belong here, and she needs to stop lying. So why don't you tell me what you want from her?"
His nostrils flared as his fingers curled into fists, and Bob had to take a few deep breaths before he said, "I just wanted to make sure she's okay."
Kevin crossed his arms over his chest and said, "She's nothing you need to be concerned about."
The uneasy feeling that started to fill him up spread through his whole body now, and Bob took a step backwards. Maybe Anna was already at Chippy's. Maybe she didn't know Kevin was here at all. He backtracked his way through the building as he started to panic. What if she did know he was here? What if she had played Bob and everyone else the whole time?
He would check for her at Chippy's. He made it all the way across the quad to a weird looking tree that was growing sideways when he froze again. It just didn't make sense. Anna said she hated Kevin and never wanted to go back to New Jersey, and Bob had no reason to believe someone else over her.
He started calling her phone, torn as to which direction he should head. Back up to her office? To Chippy's where they were supposed to meet up? She didn't answer. He started toward the bar, covering the few blocks at a brisk pace as he tried to call her again. He walked back and forth across that sticky floor through the clusters of students enjoying an after class drink before he was satisfied that she wasn't there.Â
"Damn it, Anna. Answer your phone," he muttered as he ran back to her building and up to her office. The building was virtually empty at this hour, and now there was nobody in the hallway at all. He knocked on her door and called out her name, but he was met with silence. The kind of silence that just didn't feel right.
He felt like he was going crazy, running in circles both metaphorically and physically for this woman, and when he finally reached his truck, he had to wipe the sweat from his brow. Her apartment wasn't far from campus, and he didn't know where else to even look at this point. When he got there, he parked and tried to call her one more time before someone else who lived in the building simply held the door open for him.
"Thanks," he muttered, heading for the stairwell and taking the steps two at a time until he reached Anna's floor. And then her apartment. What he heard coming from inside made him want to rip the door from the hinges.
--------------------------
I hate Kevin. Hate. Him. I'm sorry, but he's still going to get worse. Just remember that Bob is a sweet cinnamon bun. Thanks @beyondthesefourwalls

Finally finished the first part of gaiâs 8 gates coma and how kakashi dealt with it rewrite people have been requesting. [tw blood, injury, coma, death discussions, grief]
Kurenai: Kakashi Kks: Ah. Kurenai and...baby, whatâs up? Kurenai: You mind if I come in a moment? Kks: Uhhhhh I-
Kks: So what did you need to speak about? Did something happen? K: No, Nothingâs happened. You havenât gotten to properly see and bond with her yet. Here Kks: You know Iâm not fond of kids. K: Thatâs why I didnât ask. Hold your arms out. Ok, now, donât look absolutely petrified.
Kks: Sheâs ok, I guess [YELP] Oi! Donât pinch me while Iâm holding your baby! K: You wouldnât drop her. Asuma would haunt you forever! Kks: Terrifying thought, Mirai.... How are you feeling? K: Exhausted. Do you really want to hear how horrifying having a baby is? Kks: No, please donât tell me.
K: I came over to check on you as well. Any news? Kks: No. Heâs still the same. K: Is that why it looks like this in here? Kks: ...Yeah. Doctor said he may never wake up. Since weâre eachotherâs medical contacts, Tsunade told me I had to prepare to make hard decisions should it come to that.
Kks: With the council breathing down my neck over a job I donât want, I had... A bit of an outburst. K: I donât even blame you. Thatâs... That they expect you to carry on like normal. Still grieving. The person you love most is gone. But youâre still here. Donât let them just dust you off and move on again. Iâll always have your back. Kks: You and Asuma always did. Even when I wasnât grateful for it.
Kks: I canât tell if they just donât care or didnât realize, Gaiâs the one who held me together all these years. Only reason Iâm still here at all is because of him. I donât think tenzou, the elders, or the village are prepared for whatâll become of me if I lose him. So, I donât care anymore. Let them be mad. I wonât give up on him. K: You should talk to him. Kks: huh K: Talk about anything! Iâm sure the sound of your voice will help him find his way back. Especially if you sound sad, Kks: uuh
K: I can hear it now, âMy eternal rival is sad? Not on my watch!â Kks: Pretty accurate impression. K: Thereâs been lots of source material! Kks: Maaa, Your momâs a huge dork K: Oi! [kakashi chuckles]
K: Heâll be so upset he missed her birth Kks: Oh, devastated. I canât wait to see the look on Gaiâs face, Mirai, when I tell him /I/ held you first! When he wakes up
Kks: Hey, Gai. Kurenai said i should talk to you.
Kks: Feels weird. Most of the people Iâm used to talking to like this are all... Dead.
Itâs so eerie how silent youâve been for so long. youâre not even this quiet when you sleep. Your kids come everyday to see you. Naruto and sakura when they can. Lots of others. Iâve been telling them embarrassing stories from when we were kids since you keep making them wait. Do you remember when I came over while you and Dai were making supper
Dai: Kakashi! Good to see you, my boy! Kks: Id Gai home? Dai: Heâs helping with supper! Go on, inside, youâre always welcome! Kks: Ok Dai: Atta boy Kks: Hey, G- !? ummm? Gai: OH!! Rival!! Kks:Â Is that a lid?! Gai: Correct!! It stops me from crying while cutting onions! A win for me!!
Kks: Against.... the onions? Gai: Yep! KKs:[snicker] Gai: Laugh all you want! Not everyone can comprehend innovation. Kks: Whatever. You forgot this at the training grounds. I know itâs yours thereâs a turtle on it. Gai: See! Youâre already tearing up! Kks: Am not Gai: Also, thankyou so much! Kks: Bye, Iâm leaving. Gai: Could it be? Youâre scared I can cut much faster than you! Kks: I am not scared. Gai: Good, I think we have another lid! Kks: YOU-!
Dai: Great to see growing boys with such a hunger! Iâll never have to prep onions again! Kks: I think about that everytime I chop onions now. Youâve altered my brain with all the ridiculous things youâve done. Canât even look at the toys youâve gotten the dogs without getting emotional
Kks: Just knowing youâre here still, I can barely function. Itâs pretty pathetic... Your hairâs getting long. Turning into your dad.
[gaiâs heartbeat] Kks: Gai
[gais heartbeat continues]
[gaiâs heartbeat continues] Kks: If anything should happen to me, youâll rush over, right? Gai: Damn right, I will. Dont you worry about that.
[Gaiâs heartbeat]
Kks: I miss you

A/N: well, since you guys liked part I and I was so fucking inspired I decided to write part 2; honestly thinking of writing a part III I seriously need to stop đ I hope you guys enjoy it! x
taglist: @abbiesxox
2am - world was on fire and no one could save me but you
âYâknow,â Simon starts, his legs spread across the armchair. His chin rests on his hand, nothing on his face but an indifference fashion, almost like the blood dripping from that guyâs mouth was another Tuesday to him. âYouâre quite lucky, mate.â He stretches and leans his body forward. His elbows rest on his knees and he bends low enough to stare eye to eye into the face of the man who dared laying hands on you. âKnow why?â
Your abuser flinches, and doesnât answer; he couldnât even if he wanted to.Â
His body doesn't move more than inches without feeling pain. He had lost count of how many kicks it took Simon to take him to that state - when you said your ex boyfriend was in the military, he didn't imagine that kind of military. There wasn't even a report he could possibly make. It didn't have a face, it didn't have a name - all he knew was that this man, your punisher in the skull mask, coded himself as Ghost.
And he knew that this man - this living ghost, this new alive fear of his, had made him spit blood for every slap, every squeeze, every bruise he left on your body. It would be too much for your tired, melancholic head to notice that whenever he contoured one in your back as he gave you a bath, he was counting. To each one, heâd punch him twice. Face, legs, stomach. He wanted to see blood.
âNo?â He asked, licking his lips. âYou fuckinâ pussyâŠâ He scoffs, his voice ever so low, almost a whisper - almost like he could wake you up in his house, from this distance, by talking loud. âBecause if it wasnât for my girl, youâd be dead now.â
To your abuserâs silence, Ghost stands up and steps off avoiding the bleeding fucker in front of him. âAnd let it be known, I am not one to make noise. If you come after her again, you wonât know where the shot came from.â He states over his shoulder, before opening the door and leaving it open for the ambulance thatâs yet to come - because, especially after you, heâs not a monster. Just a ghost.
4am - strange what desire will make foolish people do
The shower is on. You donât hear it, blame it on your tough sleep; can barely hear your own alarms when itâs morning.Â
It is almost morning. In a few hours, the sun will rise in the horizon of the simple window by Simonâs bed side and invade the room - equally humble - annoying you. Right now, although the sky is still dark blue, the only light source poorly illuminating the room is the dim, yellow light that comes from the bathroom while Simon finishes his much deserved bath.Â
The bloodstained hoodie and his mask are thrown aside in the laundry basket and now quietly replaced for a pair of sweatpants - his pajamas. He walks towards you in mute steps, the mattress sinking from the pressure of his two hands against it, on either side of your waist. You feel the warmth of his freshly bathed body against your skin as he shelters you from the night cold breeze with his own body. It covers you entirely, and you mumble in your sleep, âMmm, Simon.â.Â
âHmâŠâ His raspy voice asks, against your ear; your body, still drunk in sleep, shivers at the contact. You move slightly, while his nose brushes against your cheek, and continues down to your neck. Simon takes your smell in like a drug, shit, how painfully hard he misses you.
âYouâre backâŠ? Hm- what time is it?â You ask in a drunken voice.
His hand caresses your bare thigh under your shirt, his thick palm scraping up your skin till he reaches your belly; it covers, almost entirely. You mewl, âSimonâŠâ
âLate.â He replies simply, warmly, against your ear. His dog tag swings in the short space between the two of you, and brushes against your chest. You turn a little, now awake enough to be able to speak at least, and your eyes meet his staring at you, drinking in the details as if all that time away from you has made him forget how beautiful you look when you just woke up.
âYou smell good.â You admit in a mutter, feeling his hand sliding up from your belly to your waist in explicit desire. Though the two of you reluctantly tried to withdraw from each other, you couldn't deny it - it was mutual. âAre you calm now?â You ask, your hand takes hold of his dog tag and your index finger wraps around the chain; slowly, you wrap yourself around his neck, and before he can answer you, your lips take his in a quick kiss.
âNoâŠâ He replies against your mouth, in a breath. The sound of fabric moving fills the room as he repositions himself over you, and his hand moves up, tracing your curves to the top of your breast and cupping it; âNeedinâ you right now.â He whispers in between slow, passionate kisses you both share.Â
Your leg curls around his waist as you kiss him desperately, like he could vanish from
your hands any second. âAsk me.â you whisper against his lips and your hand grasps his dirty blond strands as his hand tightens around your breast. âI like it when you askâŠâ
He closes his eyes feeling a chill rise in his belly hearing you moan, and smirks in both pleasure and pride knowing he was the one to cause it.Â
âCan I fuck you?â He complies, pushing his hips against you almost unconsciously, and you feel your body burn, feeling the big bulge in his pants press into your core through the fabrics that separate the two of you.
In one deft movement, Simon lifts your shirt up to your face level and you obediently offer to hold it between your teeth as his mouth proceeds to feast on one of your breasts while his hand massages the other.
âSimon- ahâŠâ You groan, as your body uncontrollably squirms a bit and your lower half pushes up against him, begging him for some more.
Your body relaxes as your soft spots tighten, and after minutes of satisfying your needy breasts, sharing his tongue's attention between the two of them, Simon finally starts to run his wet kisses down your belly - calm as a sea breeze, hot as hellfire, different than it usually is when the two of you meet on an empty night, still enraged by the last time you left each other, fueled by hate, no - this time it's something different.Â
âI still think about you everytime, yâknow, kitten?â He admits with a faint smirk as his hands pull your panties down your legs and quickly get rid of them, exposing now your needy and soggy core to his own view. âNobody tastes sweet like you.âÂ
His hand cups your ankle and he spreads your legs; his other hand cups your pussy, his fingers parting your folds as his middle finger rubs you slowly, torturously in that sweet spot of pleasure.Â
âS-Shut upâŠâ You try to say, but your voice is caught in your throat by a sudden moan as his tongue takes place between your legs. In circular, slow and skillful movements, he sucks on your swollen clit - whatever you wanted to say is now replaced by heavy gasps and low, muffled moans as you bite down on your hand trying to hold it back. He disapproves, almost instantly, with a tight squeeze on your thigh and you canât hold back a loud groan in response.
When he feels you're getting too close to your climax, Simon swaps the intense, slow strokes for even slower ones, his tongue barely touching your clit yet - that tiny tip of contact causing all you get is the intense desire and the twitching of your legs in a near-orgasm that's thwarted so many times, it gets you insane.Â
âSimon, p-please for fuck sakesâŠâ You cry, your eyebrows furrowed in lust. His cock almost pierces the sweatshirt at this point, his veins visible on every possible part of his body - his arms, his temples, his crotch that shows when he straightens up over you as his pants lower to his waist, with that small clump of hair showing. âDonât fucking make me begâŠâ You curse once again.
His tattooed arm grabs your waist and moves you over him; his hand grips your ass and moves you against his lap, your hands look for support around his shoulders and your hips instinctively continue the movements he started.
âTake it, câmon.â He teases you. âItâs fuckinâ ripping my pants already, baby.â He grunts in your ear, his breath gets heavier when he pulls down his pants only enough so he can pull off his rock-hard large twitching cock; he stares into your face as his hips press forward, running his length against your slit, slowly.Â
âAh, fuck.â You curse under your breath as you lift your hips until his tip is against your entrance, and slowly start lowering yourself. Simon holds back a growl as your tight walls begin to swallow his cock, inch by inch, slowly. It's almost too much for you, like you lost practice by fucking guys that were smaller than him; itâs not a hard deal - heâs really too big. His fingers dig onto the skin of your waist trying to restrain himself as he holds you steady and gives you some time to get used to his length filling your whole cunt.Â
His low groans flood your ears as after a few painful seconds, you begin to move up and down, slowly at first but quickly getting faster, deeper - the excruciating pain of feeling him stretching you up entirely as if it was your first time again, gives in to the deep pleasure of having him hitting your spot each time you thrust against him.
Simon is a groaning, gasping mess beneath you; his hips move uncontrollably against yours, he grabs a handful of your hair and pulls it back exposing your cleavage to him, so he can suckle onto your soft skin - leaving marks all over you.
âMine, arenât you.â He groans while fucking you hard, kissing all over you like a dog who crawls back to its owner. âYou feel so fuckinâ good- ah-â he takes you in a sloppy kiss, your hands digging his back in raw flesh;Â
âY-Yours.â You reply in a gasping voice, almost out of air yourself.Â
Without much time to tell beforehand, your eyes roll up and his movements grow faster. You grab his shoulders, feeling your own climax start to flood through your body intensely, your legs tighten and your walls tighten against him; your clit throbs, and you grunt.
âSimon- I love you-â You moan, and your inability to keep moving now, with all your muscles suddenly relaxed and your cunt painfully overstimulated by his continuing thrusts, causes him to grab your waist from both sides and lift you without further difficulty - like youâre lightweight. He fucks you through your orgasm with his thrusts getting stronger - feral, animalistic, as his stomach tightens and his muscles jump even more defined than they already are, a few beads of sweat trickle down his chest as he grunts in pleasure.Â
Simon pulls out the instant he feels that crossing of lines where his consciousness loses itself to pleasure and surrenders completely to you - fast enough to spend himself on your thighs, partially, in a mess of grunts and gasps.Â
Your body collapses onto his and he holds you, both of you still trying to recover from so much intensity in so little time. Little by little, he regains consciousness as he smells your hair against his nostrils; vanilla ice cream. And then, the feeling of your body against his, your thin arms seeking support around his neck - your voice, saying you love him.
Minutes later, after taking care of your needs - water, a hot shower, another clean pair of clothes, you finally find yourself snuggled in his arms. Simonâs eyes are fixed on your face, and he looks tired, but not willing to fall asleep anytime soon.
The tip of his finger caresses your arm, and the morning sun starts to come through the window.
âDo you think weâll ever work together?â You break silence, gazing through his eyes with uncontrollable love. He sighs tired, and after a couple seconds, replies.
âIâll break your heart once or twice; youâll break mine. Isn't that how every relationship is supposed to work?âÂ
âYes, but if so, why didnât it work before then?â You close your eyes. He caresses your scalp, your beautiful hair, and closes his eyes as well.
âYou look beautiful in the morning.â He mutters. âNot only in the morning, of course.â
âSimonâŠâ
âCome back to me.â He asks, and it sounds like begging. Like crawling.Â
You open your eyes, but his are still closed. You smile.

A/N: Oh god. I promise that there will be a point when this isn't so sad all the time and that point is soon. But it also isn't today. I'm so sorry. đŹ
Huge thanks as always to @paperweight91 who listened to me whine and read countless fuzzy screenshots, and gave great advice and was just all around awesome. And to @stargazingfangirl18 who reached out with encouragement when the words just weren't coming.
Any comment, reblog, or ask to let me know what you think will be greatly appreciated. And if you need to come scream at me, that's ok too!
As always, thank you so much for reading! đ
Ransom had the complete collection of Harlanâs books. You couldnât say exactly why that surprised you, but it did. He even had the two poorly-received romance novels Harlan had written under a pseudonym. You hadnât known the two of them were so close, but then again, you still didnât really know anything about Ransom.
So thatâs what youâd been doing with your days, making your way through Harlanâs complete works. You were currently reading one about an au pair that had been found dead in her chargeâs locked nursery when your phone rang.Â
Your brow furrowed. The list of people who ever contacted you had gotten much shorter since youâd moved to Boston. Steve, Ransom, Linda unfortunately. That was pretty much it. You looked down at your phone to see your motherâs name. Oh.
Youâd expected her to reach out in some way since your wedding and had tried very hard not to feel hurt when she hadnât. Everyoneâs lives had moved on. You were the only one stuck. But you still hadnât had it in you to be the one who called her. You took a deep breath and answered your phone.
âHi, Mom.â
âHoney! How are you?â
You kept in your sigh. âIâm fine. How are you?â
âGood, good,â she said, but she sounded sad. She always sounded so fucking sad. It struck you then, that thatâs probably how youâd sound too, in ten or twenty years. Maybe less. Probably a lot less. âItâs so nice to hear your voice honey.â
âYeah,â you said, and, pathetically, you could feel the tears starting to gather in your eyes. You werenât angry with her. You couldnât be. It wasnât her fault she was so broken. It was inevitable. For all of you. And your frustration with her didnât change how much you missed her. Missed home. Missed the way things used to be. âItâs good to hear you too.â
âI know itâs been a while,â she said softly, âbut I wanted to give you a chance to get settled. How are things going?â
âTheyâre going fine,â you said quietly. You paused. You didnât want to say anything bad or worry anyone, but also it was your mom. âI donât know. Itâs different here. I donât have anything to do.âÂ
She just chuckled. âCherish that. Itâll change soon and then youâll miss this time.â You didnât know what to say to that so you didnât say anything. After a few moments of silence, she continued. âAnd howâs Ransom?â
You stifled a groan. You didnât want to talk about him. Things had been⊠better since your panic attack. He came home at a decent hour regularly. You fucked most nights now. But he was still just this looming presence. You didnât know what to do with him. âHeâs fine,â you said with a shrug.
That was apparently the wrong answer, judging by the little hum she made. âI know itâs hard at the beginning. When I first married your fatherââ she cut herself off with a deep breath. âRemember, honey, keeping him happy is your one job now. Itâll get easier the longer you do it.â
A few tears finally broke free and fell down your cheeks. âI donâtâ I donât know him. I donât know what makes him happy.â
âThen finding out will be a good use of your free time, wonât it?â You glanced at the book beside you, feeling shamed in spite of yourself. âI know it feels so hard, but men are shockingly easy. They just want to be taken care of. Thatâs all you have to do. Make him dinner. Keep his home warm. Give him heirs. Donât argue. Thatâs all. Youâre going to be such a good wife to him, sweetheart. I know you can do it.â
You shrunk down into the couch, wrapping your arms around your knees, making yourself as small as possible. You hated this. Hated that she didnât want more for you. That sheâd never tried to give you more. But you were tired, too, of being upset with her for not doing the impossible. What else was she supposed to have done? What else could she give you when she didnât have anything herself? âOk,â you whispered. It was all you could manage.
âJoseph says hello, of course,â she said, and you wanted to laugh. Heâd done no such thing. âHeâs so proud that youâve made such a good match. Heâll be happy to hear itâs going well.â
âMmm,â was all you were able to say. You hated this. You couldnât do it anymore. âItâs so good to hear from you, mom. But uh, I have toâ I have to go.â
âOh,â she said, sounding disappointed. âWell, alright. I miss you so much, sweetheart. Weâll talk again soon. I love you.â
You could barely hold the tears back now. âI love you too,â you said, your voice thick. âBye.â The moment you hung up the phone, the damn broke. You couldnât stop it. You cried for your mom. You cried for yourself. You cried for the way everything had changed and there was no going back. You cried because this was a day when it felt like no one on earth was on your side. A shaking Lola forced her way into your lap and you held her until you were able to calm down.
Once youâd stopped crying, you looked around. You couldnât sit still, your motherâs words ringing in your ears. Your eyes locked on the kitchen. That was something you could do. You glanced at the time. If Ransom came home at his new regular time, it would be tight, but you could do it if you made something simple. But not too simple. Something that showed effort. That you were trying.Â
You got up and looked in the fridge. All those tidy little glass containers full of meals his housekeeper, Carol, made. Youâd never felt like they were taunting you before, but now. Now you wanted to smash them. You could do this. You could make him like you. Show him what you were worth. You could make yourself a life better than your motherâs, maybe. Get him on your side.
There werenât a ton of raw ingredients, but after combing through the entire contents of the fridge and pantry, you found what youâd need for a decent spaghetti. Carol was probably planning it for later in the week. Well, now she wouldnât have to. Youâd do it yourself.
You put some music on and got to work. Losing yourself in the prep. But youâd lost yourself too much maybe, because you were still chopping when Ransom walked in the door.Â
Lola, of course, rushed to greet him. It still rankled. She didnât realize that one wrong move would have him kicking her out. His words from that first dinner had never left your mind. But a few days ago, heâd started reaching down to pet her as she danced around him. You didnât know what either of them were playing at.
He looked at you, now trying to hurry through the rest of your prep, his brow furrowed. âWhat are you doing?â he asked.
âIâm making dinner,â you said, gesturing to all your work obviously. You looked at the time. You werenât slow. He was early. Why the fuck was he early? He was ruining all your plans.
âWhy?â he asked as he took off his coat, then shoes. âCarolâs put plenty of meals in the fridge.â
âBecause I wanted to!â You said, your knife coming down on the onion under your hand too hard.
The knife hitting the cutting board caught his attention. He looked at what you were doing. âI donât like onions.â
You threw down the knife more carelessly than you should have. It slid across the cutting board before coming to a stop at the edge of the counter. âThen why were they in the pantry?!â
âHow should I know?!â he shouted back, matching your tone. But then he looked at you and stopped. âHave you been crying? What happened?â
You froze. Shit. You hadnât even thought to check what you looked like. You swiped at your face and turned away. âItâs the onions. Obviously.â
âYour faceâ that looks like more than onions.â He now stood at the edge of the kitchen, only the island between you.
âIâm fine!â you snapped, then forced yourself to take a breath. âMy mom called,â you conceded. âItâs fine.â
âOh,â was all he said for a moment and then, âYou and your parents are close then?â
You couldnât explain why the question irritated you so much. Maybe it was the assumption of homesickness. Or referring to Joseph as your parent. Or just him being here earlier than he was supposed to be, asking you anything. You couldnât keep the shortness out of your voice when you responded, âMy mom. Sometimes.âÂ
You looked around at your progress, the mess youâd made, the onions he didnât want. So much for keeping him happy. What a stupid idea. You felt done. Over everything. You began cleaning up all the food, scooping it into the garbage.
âWhat are you doing?â
âI changed my mind! You donât want any of this anyway. Have one of Carolâs fucking dinners.â
âThe fuck is going on with you?!â he shouted as he watched you clean up the kitchen.
âI changed my mind,â you repeated, throwing the cutting board into the sink. âIâm not hungry. Iâm going upstairs.â You stomped over to the staircase.
âYouâre not going to eat anything?â he called after you.
âNo! Iâm fine!â You shouted as you took the first few stairs.
âYeah, you sure seem fucking fine,â he grumbled as he headed to the fridge.Â
You stopped and glared at him. âWake me if Iâm asleep when you come up. Iâm ovulating, so. Tonightâs important.â
He let out a humorless chuckle. âYeah,â he said, flatly. âI got your text.â That was news to you. He'd never responded to it. As you turned to continue up the stairs, you heard him add under his breath, âAlthough Iâm not sure why you feel like you need to be awake for it.â
You stopped and turned around, coming back down a step. âWhat was that?!â
He turned to you, one of Carolâs glass containers in his hand, and sighed. âNothing. Iâve had a long day.â You just stared at each other and then he added, âArenât you tired of it being such a chore?â
Something crumpled in you at that, but you didnât want to stop and look at what it was. âWell,â you said. âThe sooner Iâm pregnant, the sooner it wonât be.â Then you turned and stomped the rest of the way upstairs.Â
When he woke you later that night, he was already ready to go. You didnât even take off your pajamas, just slid your shorts down to your calves. He was right. It was a chore.
It was a few days later when he texted you in the middle of the day. You were hiding in the bedroom while Carol cleaned downstairs. She was still mad that youâd wasted the spaghetti ingredients. You were reading in bed with Lola when your phone buzzed beside you.
Big family thing at Harlanâs on Saturday. Weâll be expected.
For some reason, it was the âweâ that caught you. It was the first time youâd realized you were a package deal now. If Ransom was invited somewhere, you would accompany him. And vice versa if you were ever invited anywhere. You couldnât imagine it, with how small your world had gotten.Â
The rest of his message caught up with you. His family. Linda had reached out multiple times since her awful visit. Every time you spoke to her, you got so small. You worried that prolonged exposure to her might cause you to completely disappear.
Aside from his parents, youâd barely interacted with the rest of his family at the wedding. It would be fine. You would be fine. Youâd have to be. They were your family now too. Youâd be seeing so much of them. For the rest of your life. You ignored how much your chest tightened at that thought.
Saturday came too soon.
Ransom paced around the bedroom while you both got ready. Youâd never seen him like this before. He wasnât dressed. He just kept walking in and out of his closet. And looking at you. You didnât know if you were doing something wrong. He didnât say anything, he just couldnât keep still. The one time youâd asked if he was alright, heâd barked back at you that he was fine, so you hadnât asked again.Â
Watching him pace around was making you even more anxious than you already were. So you focused all you could on getting yourself ready. Youâd asked Ransom earlier if his family dressed for dinner and heâd just grunted in response. But it felt like a no, so you wore one of your favorite day dresses. It was your favorite color. You hoped it would give you confidence. You did your hair. You put diamond studs in your ears, with a matching tennis bracelet on your wrist. Reasonable heels on your feet. A spritz of perfume on your pulse points. It was the best you could do without more information.
You stood in the middle of the bedroom once you were done. Ransom was still undressed, still moving. âUh,â you ventured, hesitantly, glancing at the clock on his bedside table. âWill we have enough time to get there?â
âWho gives a shit?â he growled, thundering back into his closet. A few moments later he came back out, wearing dress slacks and a cream cable-knit sweater. There were holes in it. You could see them clearly from the other side of the room.Â
âRansom,â you said softly, oddly feeling like you were speaking to a spooked animal, âdonât you think that sweaterâs a little worn?â
âIt doesnât fucking matter,â he rasped. âLetâs go.â Then he was out of the room and halfway down the stairs, with you scrambling to keep up behind him.Â
The drive to Harlanâs country estate was mostly silent. Youâd tried to turn on the radio at one point, but Ransom just turned it right back off. He gripped the steering wheel so tightly, his hands were bright red. You wondered if he was hurting himself. You didnât know why he was so stressed. You were the one about to walk into the lionâs den, the one who had no idea what was waiting for you. It was his family. Heâd be fine. You had no idea if you would be. You rested your hands in your lap, clutching them, and settled into the silence.
You knew that Harlan lived quite a ways out of town, but you still got to his home much too quickly. The large mansion loomed over you as Ransom parked his car amongst the others in the drive. He turned off the ignition and then just sat there, staring ahead. Just as you were about to call his name, he slapped the steering wheel harshly with one hand then growled âLetâs go!â to you and got out of the car. Once again, you scrambled after him, but this time, he slowed, slightly, to let you catch up. Once you had, he put a firm hand on the small of your back and ushered you up the path and into the house. You didnât have time to react to that or try to figure out what on earth he was doing before you were greeted by a woman Ransom snidely called Franny. She responded with a very curt âHughâ of her own then introduced herself to you as the housekeeper. She took your coats, and then Ransomâs hand was back on you, guiding you into a sitting room.
The entire family was already there, most with drinks in hand, and they all turned to watch you enter. You felt pinned by their gazes. âWell!â Ransomâs uncle Walt called out. âLook who finally decided to show. And just in time for the food, of course!âÂ
Ransom stiffened slightly beside you then smirked. âWell, thank god weâre in time for your fifth drink, Walt. Whoâd want to miss that?â
Walt scowled as he got up from his seat, then lumbered across the room, knocking his shoulder into Ransomâs as he passed and jostling you in the process. You started to sway a little, and Ransomâs hand immediately came to your hip to try to steady you. Your gaze flitted down to it, but just as quickly it was gone.
Everyone else began to get up and make their way out of the room. Meg, at least, gave you a small smile and wave, but otherwise, you were mostly ignored. That was, at least, until there were only three people left, Ransomâs parents and Harlan.Â
Harlan immediately hugged you. âItâs wonderful to see you, my dear. You look so lovely.â He took a step back to look at you both. âI trust youâre taking good care of each other. This is one of the most important times in your marriage. I hope youâre cherishing it.âÂ
âSure Grandad,â Ransom snarked, âweâre loving being married to a complete stranger.â
âAh, now, youâll only remain strangers if you let that happen.â
You saw Ransom about to open his mouth to say something else, so you jumped in with a quiet, âThank you, Harlan, we really appreciate that.â
Harlan smiled at you, big and genuine, and then clapped Ransom on the shoulder. âSee, my boy,â he said. âI knew she was exactly what you needed!âÂ
Ransomâs jaw ticked but he didnât say anything. You didnât know how to respond either. Harlanâs kindness had a way of making you feel invisible.Â
Linda stepped up to you all then. âDarling,â she said, her tone dripping friendliness in a way that made you brace for impact. âI see not even your positive influence can make my son be on time. How disappointing.â She added a little chuckle onto the end, but you took it as the reprimand it was meant to be. You pasted on your most benign smile, but as always, she made you feel about a foot tall. You had no idea how anyone thought you were supposed to make this man do anything. Like he cared about what you thought or wanted. Like you had any power at all.Â
âIs that why you married me off, mother?â Ransom asked, matching her friendly tone, but when you looked up at him, his eyes were hard. âSo thereâd be someone to handle me?â
âWell,â she said, a placid smile on her face to match your own, âsomeone has to. Lord knows you havenât listened to me in years.â
âAnd yet,â Ransom said, his tone dropping all friendliness, âyou still got me here, didnât you?âÂ
The look on his face startled you. Youâd never seen him this angry. Without thinking, you reached out and wrapped your fingers around his wrist. At your touch, his eyes snapped to yours. You werenât sure exactly what he found there, you felt lost enough that you couldnât imagine your expression was much help, but after staring at you for what felt like an age, he gave you the smallest nod and relaxed his posture.Â
âWe donât want dinner to get cold,â Harlan called from the doorway.
Linda straightened, finally ending the standoff with her son. âYes, of course,â she said. Then she looked at you, really looked, her eyes traveling up and down your body, taking in all of you and everything you were wearing. She quirked her eyebrow at you and let out a distinctly judgemental little hum. Then that friendly smile was back and she turned away from you. âOh, Dad, there was actually something I wanted to talk to you about,â she said as they both left the room.
You stared after her. You didnât know what youâd done wrong. Youâd looked at everyone when youâd arrived and confirmed that you werenât under or overdressed. She herself was wearing a simple but smart pantsuit. Your clothes were nice, clean, and pressed. You were put together. What could her problem possibly be? You tried to breathe but you could still feel her looking at you and your chest was so tight.
You were brought back to the present by Richard wrapping you in a hug. His lips brushed your cheek as he said, âSo nice to see you again, honey.â Then one of his hands on your back traveled lower until it grazed the top of your ass. You couldnât help the way you jumped.
âAre you fucking kidding me, Dad?â Ransom shouted next to you. âIâm standing right here!â
Richard pulled away and you took a deep breath at being free of him. What the hell had just happened?
âWhat?â Richard rounded on his son. âI canât greet my daughter-in-law? Youâre so sensitive, Ransom. A little attention is flattering, isnât it, honey?âÂ
They were both staring at you. You knew you needed to say something but all you could do in your shock was gape at them.Â
Ransom wrapped one arm around your waist to pull you close to him. âYouâre a fucking creep,â he growled.
Richard just scowled and made his way to the hall. âDisrepectful little shit,â he muttered as he left the room.
It wasnât until his father was completely gone that Ransom dropped his arm from around you. He looked you right in the eye, his face so serious, as he asked, âAre you ok?â And there was something in his tone, fear maybe, that startled you just as much as Richardâs hand.
âIâm fine,â you nodded, your voice shaking only the slightest bit. When he still didnât release you from his gaze, you brushed your fingers over his arm. âIâm alright.â
Finally, he nodded but didnât really relax. âHeâsââ he began, but cut himself off. âJust, watch out for him.â
âOk,â you said, trying to sound strong. Reassuring. Ransom still just stood there. âAreâ are you alright?âÂ
That seemed to bring him out of wherever heâd been. âWhat?â he asked, somewhat sharply. âYeah, of course. Come on,â he said, turning to the doorway. âLetâs get this shitshow over with.â
Everyone else was already seated at the large dining room table when you came in. Ransom guided you over to the two empty chairs in the middle of one side and pulled yours out for you before seating himself. The catering staff moved around the table setting down plates and pouring wine for everyone. But when the server got to you, they moved past you without pouring anything. In case you were pregnant. Of course. That was fine. You just hoped no one else noticed.
âIâm sorry,â Ransom said from beside you and your stomach dropped. âIs there a reason my wife isnât being served wine tonight?âÂ
âRansom,â you whispered, still hoping everyone would just ignore it, but it was too late.
From the other side of the table, Walt piped up liked heâd just been waiting for an opportunity. âMaybe the staff got confused and didnât realize sheâs old enough to drink.â His eyes sparkled and he grinned, proud of himself, as it took every muscle in your body not to shrink down in your seat.Â
âGreat catch, Walt! Youâre right. She is still much younger than me. Like I said before, and Iâm sure Iâll have to say again, neither of us chose this. I wouldâve thought thatâd be a concept youâre familiar with, seeing as how you practically begged Harlan not to make you marry Donna.â
âRansom!â you admonished quietly. Your eyes cut to the willowy blonde sitting next to Walt, looking like a deer caught in headlights. You had no doubt that he deserved this, but you had no idea if she did.Â
Ransomâs eyes cut to you. âYouâre right,â he said, before looking back at his aunt and uncle. âI should be nicer to Donna. Iâm sure being married to Walt is punishment enough.â
âYou little shit!â Walt responded. âIâll have you know my wife is very happy. Which Iâm sure is more than you can say for yours! Whatâs it been, a month? Two? And she already looks completely miserable.âÂ
You felt all eyes turn to you again and you werenât sure youâd ever felt more self-conscious in your life. Your entire body was on fire. You didnât know what to do. You couldnât say anything, so you picked up your fork and took a bite of the fish youâd just been served. It didnât taste like anything.
From your left, Joanie spoke up. âHey, those first few months of marriage are hard. But so rewarding. I know when Neal and I were first marriedââ
âYes, Joanie,â Linda cut in, dryly. âMy brother was a saint and we all miss him very much.â She turned back to her son. âThereâs no need to get upset, Ransom. We just didnât want to accidentally serve a pregnant woman alcohol. Better safe than sorry.â She picked up her own fork to begin eating. âSpeaking of, if the two of you have an announcement to make, nowâd be the perfect time.â
You couldnât stop your grimace. Ransom stiffened next to you, then answered, âNo. No announcement.â
âItâll come,â Harlan finally joined in from his place at the head of the table. âThereâs still plenty of time.â
From the other end of the table, a teenage boy youâd never even met before said, âMaybe not. Maybe sheâs barren.â And you felt all the wind go out of you.
âOh fuck off, you little incel shit!â Ransom shouted.
âShe isnât barren, Jacob,â Linda said, calmly. âWe have all her medical records to confirm sheâs perfectly fertile.â
You couldâve sworn you blacked out at the moment. Youâd known, on some level, that if there was a clause in the contract, itâd come with some sort of confirmation that, at least on your side, it was even possible. But to know that they had your medical records and now were discussing them like you werenât even here, like you just didnât matter⊠You hoped the earth might open up and swallow you whole.
You felt a gentle hand land on your knee but it didnât really register. Nothing did. You didnât know where the conversation went from there. You couldnât hear anything above the ringing in your ears. It was all you could do to keep breathing. But you knew they all kept sniping at each other. And you felt the anger radiating off of Ransom the entire time.Â
The clinking of plates and scraping of chairs finally got you out of your stupor as the family got out of their chairs and staff started clearing the dishes. You looked over at Ransom, for help or support maybe, you didnât really know. But he also looked like heâd gone somewhere else. He could barely meet your gaze.
You were still numb as people made their way back to the original sitting room. You just needed to make it through the rest of the evening. You could do that. Just as you had gotten to the other room, Harlan stopped Ransom with a hand on his shoulder. âIâd like a word in private with you, my boy.â
Ransom looked at you for a moment, then sighed and said softly, âIâll be right back,â before following his grandfather deeper into the house.
And then you were alone. You were at a loss as to what to do with yourself, so you went back into the sitting room and settled on a vacant couch. Not everyone had migrated there. There were only a few people in the room now. Jacob sat in the corner, hunched over his phone, but every once in a while he would look up, catch your eye, and smirk at you. It had you sliding further back in your seat. His mother was no help. Donna was slumped over in an armchair, still cradling half a glass of wine. Meg had already shrugged on her coat, giving a hurried wave as she moved through the room. And Richardâ
Richard sat down next to you. You slid down the couch as subtly as you could. âYou know,â he said, âI didnât get much of a chance to talk to you at the wedding.â
Alarm bells went off through your whole body. You saw Ransomâs face again, from earlier. How angry, yes, but more than that ashamed and unsurprised. How heâd looked at you. How heâd asked if you were ok. How itâd felt urgent. âIt was a busy day,â you gritted out, trying to think of any way to get yourself out of this room.
âRansom is a very lucky man,â he said, inching closer, his arm draped over the back of the couch, âto have such a beautiful bride.â
âThank you,â you chuckled uncomfortably. âThatâs very sweet.â You looked around helplessly. As he opened his mouth to say something else, you stood up. âIâm going to go get myself some water. Do you need anything?â you asked, but didnât give him a chance to answer. âNo? Ok, Iâll be right back.â And then you fled.
You hurried down the hall toward the kitchen but slowed when you heard voices. You picked out Joanie first, then Linda. You slowed to a stop right outside the kitchen door, trying to weigh just how much you wanted that water. Was it worth facing them? Were they any better than Richard?
âOkay,â Joanie said, âbut what do you really think about her?â Your stomach dropped. You tried to reassure yourself that they could be talking about anything, anyone. You pressed closer to the door as quietly as you could.
âI think,â Linda said, then paused while you heard the clink of glassware, âthat she will serve her purpose just fine.â
Joanie laughed. âI just have a hard time picturing Ransom with such a mouse.â You closed your eyes. You should go right now. Nothing they had to say would be of any help to you. But, despite your best interests, you were rooted to the spot.
âShe definitely wasnât chosen for her personality, but Ransom understands how good this will be for the whole family. How important it isâ
âOh, of course,â Joanie simpered, and you just hated both of these women so much at that moment, maybe more than youâd ever hated anyone. âI just feel so bad for him. He must be so bored.â
âListen, I told him that he just needs to get her pregnant, and then he can do whatever he needs to do. Once he has an heir. As long as heâs discreet, of course.â Â
Joanie cackled. âYou didnât! Oh, youâre so bad!â
âHe might already be behind on that one, anyway,â Linda said, and you could practically hear her smirk. But you didnât know what she could possibly be talking about. She didnât know you and there was no oneâ unless. Oh god.
âWell.â Linda continued. âYou know, she and her step-brother are very close, if you know what I mean.â
âReally?â Joanie asked, fucking eagerly.
âMhmm,â Linda hummed. âDid you not see them at the wedding? They were practically hanging all over each other. He had to be kicked out of her dressing room.â
âNo! Does Ransom know?â
âWell, I havenât told him yet. You know how he gets. Iâm waiting for the right time.â
âYou know what they call that on the internet, donât you?â
Linda sighed. âYou know that I donât, Joanie.â
âStepcest!â Joanie said gleefully.
And that was it. That was all you could do. This fucking family. Howâ Why? Youâd never done anything. You hadnât even chosen to be here! And they still took so much joy in cutting you down. And if Linda managed to get to Ransom and tell him⊠Who knows what heâd do?
You moved as quietly as you could back down the hall, swiping at the tears beginning to gather in your eyes, hoping not to call any attention to yourself, when shouts suddenly erupted from the other side of the house. As soon as you recognized one of the raised voices as Ransomâs, you began to hurry in that direction.Â
You hadnât made it very far before he came barreling out in your direction. âGet your coat,â he growled. âWeâre leaving.â
You didnât argue, more than ready to get out of there yourself. You followed him to the closet, and then once you both had your coats, out the door. The crisp night air was bracing after feeling suffocated in that house for hours. Neither of you said anything as you got into Ransomâs car.
It wasnât until you were fully off Harlanâs property that you felt brave enough to ask, âIs everything alright?â
He glanced at you before returning his eyes to the road and letting out a humorless chuckle. âSure,â he said.
âWhatâ What did he want to talk to you about?â
âJust his same old bullshit,â he scoffed.
âIââ you had no idea what to say. âIs it always like that?â You felt foolish as soon as you asked. Of course, it was. You could tell.
âOh, no,â he said, and his tone was so cold, so detached, that you couldnât help but stare. This felt like a brand new Ransom. âSometimes itâs really bad.â
You didnât say anything to that. You had no idea what to do with this sudden urge to comfort him, this man who had so much power over you, this man you couldnât even say you liked most days. Especially after what youâd just been through. So you kept your hands in your lap and stared out the window.
After a few minutes of silence, he surprised you by being the one to break it. âSo. I bet your family looks like the fucking Waltons compared to that.â
You thought of dinner with your own family. Joseph crowing loudly about his successes. Your mother cowering the moment any small thing went wrong. Steve getting into screaming matches with his father. You feeling invisible, on a good day. âNo,â you said, hollowly. âNot really.â He turned his head sharply to look at you and you held his gaze for just a moment before he had to look back at the road. There was one large difference though. Youâd always had Steve. As far as you could tell, Ransom didnât have anyone.
That thought led you back to what youâd heard right before youâd left and your anxiety returned. âSteve and Iââ you blurted out. âHeâs my brother.â
Ransomâs brow furrowed in confusion. âUh, yeah, I am aware of that.â
You shook your head. âNo, I justâ I know we arenât related biologically, butâ Nothingâs ever happened between us. Not ever. Heâs my brother.â
âWhat the fuck?!â he called out as he made a left turn more sharply than necessary. âWhy would youââ he cut himself off. âDid someone say something to you?â
You ignored his question. âI justââ you said, âI just wanted you to hear it from me.â
âJesus Christ,â he muttered. Neither of you said anything else for the rest of the drive.
When you got back to his house, Ransom went straight upstairs while you let Lola out one last time before bed. When you joined him in the bedroom once that was done, he was already in bed. âListen,â he said softly, âI know youâre probably even more anxious about this whole thing afterâ I just, Iâm really fucking tired. Is it ok if we donâtâ If we just go to bed?â
You nodded, relief flooding through you. You were just as tired and didnât think you could deal with all that after everything else that had happened that day. You quickly went through your nighttime routine in the bathroom. When you came back out once youâd finished, you found Ransom still awake, lying on his back staring at the ceiling. Lola was curled up at his side and he absently scratched her belly. You climbed into bed and turned the lamp off, turning onto your side. You felt him move behind you, scooting closer, not enough that you were touching at all, but you could feel his body heat. It was oddly soothing. You closed your eyes and hoped sleep would come fast, ready for this day to be over.

End of Authorâs Note
-0-
You missed him.
You texted each other daily, but you missed waking up to his beautiful voice singing random songs around the house, ordering take out food for anime marathon nights, fighting over ps5 games and even the bickering you had with each other on occasion.
But thatâs the cost of being a world wide famous rockstar roommate.
You and Noah were friends for a few years now and even though the idea of being roommates was a temporary thing at the beginning, the dynamics between the two of you worked out so great you just settled with it, even though you already were financially stable enough to have your own place.
But honestly, that was just an excuse you kept repeating to yourself in order to deny the sparkles in your chest every time you saw him, every time you were with him or even thought about him.
You were friends and you never let those sparkles ignite inside you because you didnât want to ruin it all and lose him.
However, being away from him for months now was driving you insane, and the fact he still had a couple of months on the road until he came back got you climbing up the walls in agony.
It took you his long absence to acknowledge that those sparks were actually a wildfire being kept under control by his presence.
And today you missed and wanted him so much you found yourself in his bedroom, rummaging through his clothes. You soon found one of his favorite hoodies to wear while home and put it on immediately, reveling in the smell of his cologne that lingered.
You studied his bed covered by a dark comforter and you couldnât help but to wonder what is it like to have him there, unholy thoughts taking over your mind in record speed as you got all hot and bothered only by contemplating his bed and all the ways youâd crave for him to have you there.
You sprawled on his bed and a wicked idea came into your head as heat pooled between your legs.
Your hand found its way down your center while Noahâs image painted itself in your head. The first touch, despite being delicate, followed by a wave of pleasure spreading goosebumps all over your skin.
You closed your eyes and from there on, in your mind he was there with you. Those were his fingers instead of yours.
You imagined the way his thin nose would run up your neck before he kissed and nipped on it, the sinful ways his slender tattooed fingers would explore the curves on their way up your body until he wrapped them around your neck, choking you as he bottomed you out looking in your eyes.
Those thoughts alone were enough to make your fingers work harder on your nerve bud as your other hand squeezed one of your boobs from underneath his hoodie, his name leaving your lips in lascive whimpers as you got dangerously close to your orgasm in record speed, your hips shamelessly moving in sync with your hands for an extra shot of pleasure.
You were so concentrated and so close to your climax you didnât hear the front door opening downstairs, nor the steps coming up the stairs and then halting by the bedroom door at the sight of you.
Noah, whoâd came home earlier during a few days break to surprise you, was hypnotized not only by watching you fuck yourself off, but also by the way his name slipped out of your lips in filthy moans, and his pants seemed to get incredibly tight in matter of seconds.
He couldnât help but to palm himself over his dark jeans, while he leant his other arm on the door jamb to get more comfortable to watch that show in front of him, his eyes switching from your lips chanting his name, to your hand on your breasts underneath his hoodie and to the hand inside your shorts, dying take them off and bury himself deep in you, to get coated in your slick, to feel you clenching around him.
He wanted to join you. He wanted you.
So when he realized you were a few strokes away from your orgasm, he cleared his throat to make his presence known, making you jump as you covered yourself, mortified that youâd been caught by him, your whole face burning in shame as you dropped your gaze, unable to take the smallest look at his reaction.
âIâm so sorryâ Your apology came out as a whisper.
âIâm notâ He licked his lips causing you to throb.
Noah closed the door behind himself and stood by the foot of the bed, arms crossed as he raked his eyes over your figure. Heâd never looked at you like that, at least youâd never noticed, but at that very moment you were sure he also wanted you to be more than just his friend.
Still you decided to play dumb, you never thought youâd reach that point with him and now that heâd already caught you hands on, you wanted to see what he would do next.
âIâm so sorry, Noah, I shouldnât have come to your room like that IâŠâ He cut you off.
âYouâre really sorry?â
âYesâ
âThen show meâ
His words went straight to your core and your heart was beating so fast you thought youâd collapse in front of him.
âHow?â
âCome hereâ
He motioned with his hand as you crawled on the bed towards him, his tall frame towering over you as you sat on your knees before him.
He cupped your cheek and ran his thumb over your lips, tugging on your lower lip, his eyes dark with lust as he watched you lick the pad of his thumb, twirling your tongue around it as he pushed his finger inside your mouth.
âI always knew youâd look good in my bedâ
His confession made your blood run faster through your veins as he brought your head closer to his body, making you bend forwards as his fingers slid to the back of your head, entangling in your hair, your mouth now only inches away from the very evident bulge inside his pants.
Your hands went straight to his waistband, hooking your fingers on it as your eyes asked silently for his permission, which came with a reassuring nod in less than a second.
You pulled his pants down along with his boxers, freeing his very hard manhood right in front of your face, and knowing that he felt the same way towards you got you eager to show him how much you wanted him, how much you fantasized about him, how much you craved for him.
You flattened your tongue on the base of his underside, running it slowly all the way to his tip, twirling your tongue around it just like youâd done with his finger, making him let out a gasp as you kept on teasing his tip.
One of your hands moved up his thigh towards his shaft, holding onto its base as your lips wrapped around his tip and you started to bob your head up and down his length, hollowing your cheeks every time on their way back as your hand stroked the parts your mouth couldnât fit in just yet.
But youâd make him fit.
Noah gritted his teeth when he felt his tip hitting the back of your throat over and over again as you fought your gag reflex, so hot by his reactions and by him getting close to his climax, twitching against your tongue, you just didnât care.
When you were about to pull out a bit for some air, Noah kept you in place and thrust his hip forwards, going so deep your nose touched his pubic zone as he fucked your face. Despite being overwhelmed by the rhythm and the depth he was reaching, you couldnât help but to squeeze your thighs together desperate for some friction as you almost came by how erotic having him fucking your face was.
âIâm⊠FuckâŠâ Noah tried to pull out as he was clearly at his limit, but this time you were the one to keep him in.
âIn my mouth pleaseâ You whimpered against his cock.
Your plea along with your hollowed cheeks was enough for him to buck his hips and spill in your tongue and down your throat in hot spurts, the moan coming from his lips in such a sinful tone got you aching between your legs.
You swallowed every drop of his spent and then wiped away the saliva on the corner of your lips as he watched you mesmerized with glazed eyes.
âTake off your clothesâ He commanded, still a bit breathless, while he finished stripping off of his own, the sight of his tattoo covered body in front of you made your mouth go dry as he kneeled on the bed before you, leading you to lay down as he appreciated the view.
Noah spread your legs open and licked his lips at the sight of your glistening slick running down your folds and wetting his bed.
âYou always get this wet thinking about me when Iâm gone baby?â
Your cheeks burned and all you could do was nod as he now hovered over you, lips so close to yours you could already feel them. Even after having him deep in your throat and swallowing his load you felt shy, and he knew that, he knew you so well you couldnât hide any emotions from him.
âWould it help if I told you Iâve been dreaming about you like this for a very good while?â
He peppered kisses from your jaw to your neck, sending shivers through your skin as you closed your eyes and revelled in the feel of his soft lips against such a sensitive area.
âYou have no idea how many times Iâve got hard just with the thought of youâ He nipped on your chin and your eyes met again âWhy do you think I came home earlier? I just couldnât stay another second away from my girlâ
His lips claimed yours in a breathtaking kiss, his tongue danced against yours erotically, eagerly, as if he was trying to make up for the time lost, as if he wanted to show you through that kiss how much he wanted and desired you.
âFuck, NoahâŠâ Your mind was foggy, you couldnât process if his revelations were real or if you were having another wet dream with him.
âI will, but not yetâ
He nibbled on your lower lip and traveled down your body, his tongue teasing and his teeth grazing and swirling over your nipples languidly on his way down before he settled himself between your legs, eyes trained on your dripping pussy.
âI need to finish what you started firstâ
Noah wasted no time on burying his face in you, his tongue expertly eating you out and collecting all of your arousal before he focused on your swollen clit, swirling hard circles on it, making you claw the sheets and moan out his name as heâd found your most sensitive spot in matter of seconds.
Never letting up on the work with his tongue and lips, he slid a finger inside you, immediately going for that magic spongy spot and how quick he found it made you gasp with the added wave of pleasure, the knot on your lower stomach ready to snap at any moment at that pace.
Once he realized he got you where he wanted, Noah added a second finger inside you and placed his free hand between your hip bones and below your navel, pressing down on it as he intensified both the work with his tongue and fingers, making you arch your back upwards and cry out in pleasure with a new found kind of pleasure bubbling up inside.
It all felt too much, too strong, too intense, the way his mouth and his fingers worked on you, along with the pressure on your lower belly made you snap in a way you never did before, your body trembling hard as electric shocks ran through your veins as you, completely overwhelmed by pleasure, felt yourself, for the first time in your life, squirt from such an intense experience.
The sight of him between your legs, all disheveled, face wet with your fluids and blissed out expression on his face almost made you cum again.
âHow did you just do that?â You asked flabbergasted and he hovered over you again and kissed you, allowing you to taste yourself on his tongue.
âYouâd never had it before?â He asked amused and proud of himself.
âNoâ
âBetter get used to it thenâ
You shivered at his promise and kissed him again as you wrapped your arms around him, one of your hands entangling your fingers in his dark locks as the other ran down his back, feeling his muscles flexing as he settled himself between your legs, feeling him hard again as he rubbed against you, coating himself in your arousal, earning small cries out of you due to how sensitive you still were.
His hands traveled over your body, from your legs around his hips, through your breasts to the back of your head as he devoured you in a breathtaking kiss.
The way he ground against you, skipping your opening every time on purpose just to tease you, got you clawing on his back in impatience as you moved your hips trying to meet him.
âNoah pleaseâ You breathed out, desperate to feel him inside you.
âOn one conditionâ He lined his tip against your entrance âEyes on me. Understand?â
âYes, please plâŠâ Your pleading was interrupted by a loud gasp from your lungs as he finally pushed in, a low grunt coming from his lips as he sank himself inside you, your thigh walls making him grit his teeth as bottomed you out slowly, allowing you to adjust to his size.
âFuckâ
He mumbled as he started to thrust his hips, hard and steady, his pelvis rubbing against your clit and pushing himself all the way in every time making you roll your eyes back with each slam.
âEyes. On. Meâ He commanded as he grabbed your jaw and forced you to look at him as he intensified his movements and sped up his pace, turning you into a moaning mess under him as he claimed you with every thrust.
To watch him there, on top of you, the chain around his neck dangling over your face as he fucked you raw, plus the feeling of his cock rubbing all the right places inside you got you climbing to the top of the mountain of ecstasy for your next free fall.
Even your best dreams didnât come close to how amazing he felt in reality, and that realization got you seeing stars as each pound.
Feeling the way your walls clenched around him, Noah stood up straight sitting on his knees and pulled you closer, putting your calves on his chest and shoulders as he held you against him with your thighs on his abs as he kept slamming himself in you, the new position and the new angle causing you to cry out in pleasure as he now set a frantic pace.
You tried helplessly to hold onto the headboard but it was no use when shockwaves spread over your veins again and your body started to quiver against him as the tight knot on your stomach snapped violently, sending you over the edge as you moaned out his name in pure bliss, the feel of your climax against himself making him cum with you, the way he twitched inside you emptying himself out in long hot spurts taking your high to another level at how erotic and sensual it all felt.
Seeing Noah before you, cheeks red, hair strands damp in sweat as he pulled out of you and watched his cum running out of you with a grin on his face almost had you ready for another round as you, exhausted, admired him with raw passion in your eyes after everything youâd just done.
He bent down to kiss you tenderly before he got out of the bed to his bathroom, coming back for you moments later with a towel in his hands, cleaning you as he peppered small kisses randomly over you, cherishing every bit of you while he finally got you clean.
He snuggled up in the bed by your side and pulled you into his arms, kissing your forehead as he held you tightly against his chest.
âYou have know idea how long Iâve been dreaming about you like this here with meâ He confessed lovingly, running his fingers up and down your arms.
âBet you werenât expecting such a welcome party when you decided to come home earlierâ You joked, loving the way his laughter rumbled from his chest against your head.
âIf I knew it Iâd come home soonerâ He breathed out in tiredness âI have something I need to ask youâ
âWhat?â You questioned back, looking up to meet his eyes.
âCome with me for the rest of the tour?â

Catalan Comeback (Crimson Mask Part 4)
You breathed in as you felt the tattooed woman hug you tightly. "I missed you too, Mapi," you said slightly shaky. You missed the warmth of Mapi gave you . You felt her protectiveness wash over you as her embrace got tighter. "Mapi, we just got Y/N back, lets not cut off their air support," you heard Ingrid say, making a joke. Mapi would only respond by holding you tighter, which you didn't mind.
You let out a shaky sigh as you relaxed into her touch. Mapi was the big sister you never had, she was also the one who messaged you every single day since the incident. Even if you didn't reply she was there.
"Ok we should move now" You say reluctantly as you both parted. You pick up your suitcase and bag, ready to get into the pairs car. Its been a week since the meeting between you and Bright, You stayed at Fran's for the week. You became her dogs carer whilst she went training and had movie and game nights. It felt like the old days when you used to play for Chelsea. It was a calming vibe but not on social media. Ever since the incident where Keira tackled you and Lucy barged you, It sparkled major rumours. From bad blood between you guys, Transfer rumours. Hell a lot of Wonze fans came after you, even some believing you tried to get with Lucy. Something that mad you laugh out loud. But the transfer rumours? They were kinda true. Well you are always gonna be in transfer rumours. The footballer life.
You knew that the Barca chairmen and co, Talked to Jonaton. They want to see how you are till January and then decide whether you stay or go. Jonaton is still very relucted to let you go but you have had interest from Roma, Arsenal, West Ham, Lyon, Man City and Real Madrid. You had no desire to leave Barca, even if you forced to go, Your loyalty to Barca and Chelsea would not let you go to Arsenal or Madrid. Though the one thing through everyone that stuck out was the fear of seeing the two people back in Barca.
Lucy Bronze and Keira Walsh.
The Duo messaged you heavily after the injury but it seemed they stopped. You wouldn't be surprised if Mapi or Alexia told them to give you time. Mapi of all people knew how much Lucy's and Keira's friendship meant to you. "Come on then, in the car young one" You were gently pushed into the car. You couldn't wait to get back to training even though Keira and Lucy were gonna be there. You managed to be calm, But thanks to your encounter with Millie, It could not worse. Right?
The day flew by, Before you knew it. it was the next day and you were walking back into the training locker room but you were met with a powerful hug, you didn't need to question who it was who was suffercating you
"P-Pa-" You struggled to breathe as Patricia was currently suffocating you. "Ai- air." She gasped as she let go. You held your face. "Im so sorry, i just missed you!" You couldn't help but laugh at her protectiveness she was showing. "Patricia down," Patricia pouted at the voice of Alexia. You hear a sigh. "Now!" She said more sternly but friendly way. She reluctantly let go of you. And you make eye contact with your captain. "Welcome back, little one," She said with a massive smile and wrapped you in a motherly hug. "Great to be back cap." You felt her chuckle at her nickname.
"Hey Y/N," your breath quickened, and you became hot, You knew that accent. You turned around with a deep breath. Alexia hands was on your back to reassure you.
You noticed Keira looked remorseful in her looks and how she stood. "Hi Walsh," You controlled your breathing and avoided eye contact, She went to touch your arm, but you instinctly flinched. Which made a pained and shamed expression cover Keira's face. It look like she wanted to say something but hesitated
"Glad your back," Keira said, she said in a honest tone looking down before leaving the room. You didn't look just headed to your locker. You could feel the air once thick return to the noisy sounds of your club mates. You picked up your training top and felt the fabric, it comforting your mind but also a warmth as you finally getting to go play football after your injury.
You started warming up with the squad, getting back into the groove. You were happy, smiling and laughing alongside Mapi until your eye caught a certain defender.
Lucy Bronze
You tried to control your breathing, the panic wasn't as bad since you were playing the game and surrounded by familler faces. You could feel her eyes glance at you every minute or saw.
Once you glance and made eye contact, this making your eyes snap away, unknowingly making Bronze huff in frustration.
You were running at the ball during your attacking drills, you pulled your leg back and struck threw the ball sending it into the bottom right corner. You hear some if the girls cheer and hype you up as you jogged back. You managed to see the next defender who's job was to get the ball away from you was.......Bronze
It felt like an lifetime chasing that ball. You ran fully determined to get the ball. You were locked in, you approached the ball
But then
You Hesitated
You Tensed up as soon as Bronze slid for the ball. Making you hurriedly jog away to the attacker line before Bronze tried to make convo.
Now you started a mini game. 5 v 5
Your team was winning 3-1 as you ran towards the box, your heart pumping as the wind blew past you. You felt Bronze hot on your tail as Graham went for the cross. The ball glided in the air, finding its way to your destination. You had a brief moment of doubt before you jumped, you heard Bronze behind you. You saw the ball come closer and closer and as it was about to hit you
The image of the incident flashed before you
Your bloodied face
Bright
The screams
You screamed as you squased your hands and felt a shove on your back. As you opened your eyes, you saw the goal post and managed to manoeuvre out of the way, landing next to it inches away.
You deeply breathed, in shock you were frozen on the spot. It nearly happened again. And it was......the person you heard behind you. You glanced to the player a few steps away from you..
The player who looked concened
Lucy Bronze.....
She step towards you, but you couldn't let her come close. Her hands grazed your shoulder and you Scurried away screaming making her jump
You relived all the pain of that night, you couldn't focus on anyone's voice.
You felt big arms wrap around you. You didn't care who it was. You screamed and screamed until you felt the world fading away as your voice croaked as you fell past out from exhaustion.
Unknowingly to you, Cata held you tightly as Alexia, mapi, and more kneeled by you.
Leaving Bronze in shock and crushed
Long time no see đ€·ââïž
Busy life, sorry for long wait yall

comfortable silence is so overrated
â billie eilish x fem!reader
context. itâs been four months after the whole incident between billie and you. after many mental breakdowns the past months youâve finally got over it. billie on the other hand could say otherwise. when you see her at a party she pulls you for a chat. but why?
cw. swearing, drinking, confessions, toxicity, billie realizing she fucked up, billie is also a total mess, dumping feelings, lowkey sexual tension
soundtrack. from the dinning table â harry styles
original. i hate that i canât love you
Itâs been a while since the argument with Billie. You two havenât spoken since. No texts. No calls. Nothing.
For a while, you were completely wrecked ever since the whole situation happened. For a good month you had to do no-contact with everyone you knew. You felt embarrassed and ashamed for what you felt toward Billie. You both agreed on the contract. At least thatâs what you kept on telling yourself.
Now 4 months later you were completely over it.
You were sat on a couch at one of your friends backyard house party here in LA. He worked within the music industry and was the main reason you met Billie.
You had a red solo cup in hand. With whatever concoctions your friend mixed for the party.
As your friend group started talking about some gossip within the celebrity slash influencer industry your eyes started drifting around.
People watching.
As your eyes scanned the room they took a quick double take at a certain somebody. Billie.
Sheâs laughing with a bunch of her friends and theyâre all standing around her like sheâs the leader of their âposseâ. You immediately look away and immediately feel uneasy as her face is now engraved in your mind.
You excuse yourself from your friends to go get a drink, swiftly getting off the couch and walking over towards the bar area.
Billie takes a quick inventory of the house party her friend had invited her to. Tons of people she recognizes from the music industry, but also not a lot of people she likes either. Her gaze falls from group to group, finally landing back on her friends.
A few influencers from social media, a couple of producers from her record label...and a familiar face.
Billieâs heart does a backflip as her eyes land on you, noticing how beautiful you looked in that leather skirt with that tight red laced top.
Shit.
Immediately, she has an almost visceral reaction to the sight of you.
Everything about you looks so good, from your hair to your outfit.
Billie wants to go up to you, grab you and lock you in a room, kiss you until you canât even remember your own name.
But she canât.
She bites the inside of her cheek, eyes glued on you from across the room.
You order a coconut margarita from the bartender and let out a sigh, closing your eyes for a brief second.
The music was loud in your ears and hard in your chest. And on top of that your heart was already beating out your chest thanks to Billie being here.
You opened your eyes again to your drink being set in front of you. You mutter a small thanks to the bartender and immediately take a sip from the margarita glass.
Billieâs eyes follow you as you order the drink, the sight of you talking to the bartender making her heart jump into her throat.
Jesus, youâre even more beautiful in person than in her memory.
Billie grips the solo cup in her hand tighter, watching as you take a sip from the glass. She tries to swallow, dry throat making it hard.
For a few seconds, Billie considers going over to you.
What would she even say? She canât tell you that sheâs missed you. The contract was clear. No feelings.
Billie has been completely unable to get you out of her mind since the fight. Her heart aches every time she thinks about the way your face looked, so upset and pleading...
Billie bites her lip as you move to walk away from the bar.
Hell, she has to talk to you. At least let you know something.
Before she can talk herself out of it, Billie starts towards you. Her heart is throbbing against her ribcage, nearly threatening to burst through every time she takes a step forward.
Deep breath. Just talk to her. Youâre just talking to her.
Billie arrives next to you, standing a few inches away and trying to look relaxed.
âHey.â
You turn your head to the side to the familiar voice and youâre immediately met with those stupidly, beautiful blue eyes.
You donât react physically.
But your heart and head are sure as hell pounding inside.
âHi.â
Billieâs not used to you not having a big reaction to her presence.
When you turn towards her, sheâs again hit with how attractive you are, her eyes involuntarily flicking down your body.
Billie quickly brings her eyes back up, meeting yours. Sheâs a little speechless.
âYou look,â she coughs. âYou look good.â
What is she even saying?? Billie, get it together for crying out loud.
Your eyebrows raise for a split second but then furrow in part confusion and surprise.
You open your mouth to say âyou tooâ but you donât wanna give Billie the satisfaction of feeling like she has you wrapped around her finger all over again.
Even though she does look good in her backwards cap and those fucking glassesâ
Stop it, Y/N.
Instead you stop the words from leaving your mouth and give her a small smile, âThanks.â
God, your smile could kill her.
Billieâs heart does a little backflip when you do, the familiarity of it making her chest ache.
Sheâs missed you. Sheâs missed you so damn much, but she canât tell you that.
Itâs not just your smile thatâs attractive either. That leather skirt youâre wearing drives her absolutely insane, making her want to grab ahold of you and press you up against the nearest wall...
A blush creeps into her cheeks at the thought.
Billieâs heart skips a beat at the small smile, and once again sheâs thrown off.
You seem...unbothered to her presence. Usually youâre happy, or at least visibly excited to see her.
Which is exactly what Billie doesnât want.
She swallows, adjusting her hat. âYeah, uh, no problem.â
Billie canât help scanning you over again, her eyes tracing the lines of your body.
Get a hold of yourself, Billie.
You on the other hand, can tell how nervous Billie seemed to be talking to you. From the hat adjustments, the fidgeting of her rings, and the way her eyes would wonder to other parts of you.
The parts she even started talking to you in the first place for.
Thatâs right.
Billie only really wanted you for one thing. The sex.
A straight face was what you held when you reminded yourself of her not forgotten actions.
Thereâs a pause in the conversation, and itâs starting to make Billie a little nervous.
Youâre not reacting the way she thought you would. Why arenât you blushing, or staring, or smiling back?
She bites the inside of her cheek, trying to think of something to say. Her eyes flick down to the solo cup in your hands, then back up.
âWhat, uh, what are you drinking?â
Really, Billie? What are you drinking? Nice one.
âA marg.â
The words leaving your lips dryly and uninterested.
Billie swallows again as she eyes the red cup in your hand. Sheâs starting to feel like even more of a tool.
Her eyes flick up to yours, and sheâs stuck by how composed you seem to be. Like the last few months never even happened.
âMarg?â she asks, repeating you. âLike...margarita?â
You blink at Billie once, a straight face staring at right back at hers.
âWhat are you doing?â You began, eyebrows furrowed at her poor attempts to make conversation.
âI mean,â You begin to look around the yard and then back at her, âWhy are you talking to me?â
Billie blinks at the question, eyes widening. She opens her mouth to answer, but words fail her.
Why was she talking to you?
Youâre right. Why is she?
For a few seconds, sheâs at a loss. She canât exactly say âbecause I miss youâ or âbecause everything reminds me of youâ.
She shoves her hands into her pockets, shoulders lifting in a shrug.
âI dunno.â
Thereâs another brief pause, and Billieâs heart is hammering in her chest as she desperately tries to think of something, anything else to say.
Sheâs starting to have the feeling that she shouldnât have even come over, but the pull to you is stronger than her brain right now, and it seems like youâre not going to give her an easy out.
âLook, I...â
Billie pauses again, licking her lips.
âI wanted to talk to you, okay?â She finally says, and her voice comes out a little more gruff than she intended.
Billieâs not used to having to struggle to talk like this. Sheâs used to having people pay attention to her, listen to her, and do what she says.
But with you itâs different.
You arenât giving her the usual response, and itâs making her feel even more vulnerable.
A small, sarcastic smile plays on your lips, âAnd you thought Iâd want to as well?â
At this point your margarita left your hand and sat on the bar top, you crossed your arms and looked at Billie with a slight tilt of your head.
Billieâs eyes follow the movement of your margarita being set down, and she canât really blame you for not wanting to talk to her.
Sheâd expected you to not want to talk, so why hadnât she just stayed away?
âI...I just...â Billieâs eyes dart around, her voice getting a little more hushed.
âI just wanted to...I donât know,â she pauses again, her hand fiddling with the ring on her finger. Itâs antsy, anxious, something she hates feeling.
âWhat?â
Your eyebrows are furrowed and your face has confusion written all over it, âWanted me to sign another NDA?â
Your voice now low and hushed so only Billie could hear.
Ouch.
Billie winces at your words, even though she more than deserves them.
Her shoulders drop, her eyes going down to the floor for a few seconds. Her stomach clenches, and she swallows.
âNo...thatâs not what I wanted to talk to you about.â
Billie looks up to you, her eyes pleading.
You nod at her slowly and raise your hands in a âwhyâ motion, âSo why are we talking?â
You study her body language.
Sheâs uncomfortable and worried. Clearly.
Sheâs stuttering over her words, her hands are more clearly messing with the hem of her shirt, her chest is falling and rising with more speed.
Shit.
She looks exactly like you that one day. And now youâre starting to feel like shit.
But you donât let it show. You shake it off and keep your exterior, a small minuscule change in the way your eyes looked at her.
Billieâs shoulders straighten as she tries to look more confident, but your cool response is really making her crumble inside.
In the last four months, sheâs been unable to think of anything except your face, your body, your voice, everything. Sheâd tortured herself over what she was going to say if she saw you again.
And now here you were in front of her, aloof and impassive.
And it was killing her.
âI...I wanted to talk to you about us.â
You took a steady breath in at her words and looked elsewhere in the party, letting the breath out and looking back over to Billie.
You swallowed and kept eye contact with her for a few seconds, finally opening your mouth.
âThereâs no more us Billie.â
Your tone was gentle and quiet. Your face was now replaced with a much softer look and a somewhat saddened expression.
The words hit like a punch to the gut.
Even though Billie knew that was coming, it still hurts to hear you say it out loud.
She swallows again, trying to control the way sheâs feeling.
âI...I know that, but IâŠI just...â
Thereâs a pause as she wracks her brain for the right thing to say. No, not the right thing to say. The truth.
âI miss you,â she says, her words barely a whisper.
I miss you.
What the fuck?
Sheâs bullshitting you Y/N.
You blink slowly at her and her words, letting out a shaky breath. A look of anger, betrayal, and sadness all flashing on your face.
All silently.
It was the exact same look you held when you had your argument.
You looked at your drink on the bar-top and took it in your hand, not sharing eye contact with Billie.
Not saying a single word.
The tension was high.
The music was still loud.
The beat in your chest pounded harder.
It was all too much.
So you walked away. You went straight toward the more secluded part of the party where no one was. It was a balcony that overlooked all of Los Angeles.
The bright city lights never looked more interesting. You were really only trying to get rid of Billieâs words out your mind.
Billie watches as you walk away, the emotions clearly written on your face.
Her heart sinks as you reject her words and leave.
She canât help it.
She follows, weaving quickly through the crowd and around the corners of the house until she finally gets to that balcony.
She takes a few steps forward, closing the space between the two of you. When she can safely assume sheâs not going to startle you, Billie speaks up.
âPlease donât run away.â
You look up at the sky with closed eyes and mentally ask the world to give you mercy for this conversation.
Argument really.
You turn around and look Billie straight in the eye.
âI mean what the fuck is wrong with you?â
Your voice confused, angry, and sad. Your face contorted into some sort of mixed emotions.
Billieâs heart flutters in her chest at the sound of your voice again.
This was the reaction she wanted.
No, the reaction she wanted was you kissing her and pulling her flush against your warm body.
But right now this anger was the only thing she could get. Anything was better than indifference.
âWhatâs wrong with me?â
Billieâs voice is laced with disbelief, coming to stand next to you on the edge of the balcony.
âYes!â
Helplessness laced in your tone.
âWhat kind of fucked up shit are you up to? âI miss you.â I mean what the fuck!â
Billieâs chest is rising and falling with her heavy breathing as she stands there, trying to find the words to say that will help you understand, that will get you to listen.
âIâm not up to anything!â She insists. âI just...â
Billie reaches out and lays her hand on your arm, trying to ignore the way her skin tingles when she touches you.
âPlease, let me explain.â
You retract your arm from Billieâs grip almost immediately, the contrast of the feeling of her cold rings and warm hand leaving goosebumps on your skin.
âDonât touch me.â
And at this point your eyes are starting to burn, your teeth are biting at your lips to stop yourself from saying anything wrong.
Her heart drops in her chest as you shove away from her. Billie can tell that youâre getting overwhelmed, and itâs breaking her heart to watch it happen.
She pulls her hand away, clenching her fingers into a fist.
âIâm not going to hurt you,â she says quietly, her voice as gentle as she can make it.
Billieâs eyes dart around your face, a mixture of guilt, hurt, and panic written all over her features. Seeing you this upset does something to herâ itâs like she canât breathe.
âPlease just listen to me,â she says again, her voice coming out more desperate. Whiny. âPlease...â
She takes a step forward, trying to get closer to you again, aching to soothe the agitation in your body.
Billie canât handle you being this upset. The air is thick, and her chest feels heavy with the need to touch you, to make you feel better.
But she knows if she tries, youâre going to push her away again.
You donât say anything. Youâre silent.
You know if you speak up youâll regret saying the things thatâll come out your mouth. So you donât speak.
You let Billie say what she wants to say.
Billie lets out a shaky sigh, and a few hairs that had fallen loose from her cap blow in the cool night air.
âI...â
She bites her bottom lip, trying to keep her hands still and not reach out for you again.
âWhen I said I missed you...I meant it.â
Thereâs a hint of frustration in her words.
âPlease, look at me.â
So you do.
You look up from the railing of the balcony and to Billie. Your eyes are red and teary-eyed. Youâre tired. And itâs written all over your face.
Billieâs eyes widen slightly at the tears now gathering in your eyes.
No.
She didnât mean to make you cry. That wasnât what she was trying to accomplish.
Billieâs heart clenches, aching to pull you into her arms and take away any and all pain youâd felt in the four months apart.
âHey...â
She steps closer to you, gently placing a hand on your cheek to brush away the few tears that have fallen.
And at this point, youâve completely given up on trying to get away from Billie.
You lean into her touch and let out a sob.
Your heart breaks and your body practically aches with pain and heat. You missed her and you were tired of pretending you didnât.
âBillie.â
Your voice came out as a whiny cry, like a little kid who mourned the loss of their first pet.
The sound that comes out of you twists at something deep inside Billieâs chest, a wave of helplessness washing over her.
She doesnât want to make you cry. She wants you to be happy. She wants to make sure youâre as happy as possible, to see you smile that gorgeous smile againânot cry like this.
âShhh...donât cry,â Billie murmurs, her other hand coming up to cradle your face.
Sheâs impossibly gentle, as if youâre something precious to be handled with care.
And you are. Thatâs exactly what Billie thinks of you. She knows you need to be handled with care.
You are precious...
Billie brushes her thumbs across your cheeks, wiping away the fallen tears. Her brain is running a mile a minute, desperately trying to think of something, anything that will help you feel better.
She hates you hurting like this. Hating the fact that she is the reason youâre hurting.
âPlease...just stop crying...youâre breaking my heart...â
âI stillââ
Your voice is cracking and whiny. Your burning eyes look up into Billieâs blue ones.
âI still love you.â
Billieâs heart stops in her chest.
She stares down at you, shocked to hear those three words come out of your mouth.
I still love you.
Billieâs eyes rake across your face, looking for any sign of a lie in your words, but all she sees is an exhausted pain and vulnerability.
âBaby...â she whispers.
Billieâs hands still havenât left their place on your cheeks, her fingers shaking against you as she processes what you just said.
âYou...you still love me?â
Her words are quiet and hesitant, like sheâs half afraid of what the answer will be.
Billieâs eyes flicker around your face, noting all of the emotions written on your featuresâa mirror to the ones sheâs feeling right now.
Love. Anger. Sadness. Confusion. Despair. Excitement. Exhaustion. Desire.
Itâs all there, plain as day on both of your faces.
Just then your hearing was hushed. Your body grew slack and your heartbeat slowed.
You surged forward without any thought whatsoever.
Your lips ended up on Billieâs.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
This is all youâve ever wanted these past four months no matter how much you denied it. You missed her. You missed her so much. And all you wanted right now was for her to hold you.
Billie is completely caught off guard when you kiss her, letting out a soft gasp against your mouth before finally giving in.
Finally. Finally.
Sheâs needed this. No, sheâs craved this. These past few months have been long, and lonely, and exhausting. But now youâre here and finally, finally she can touch you again.
One of her hands slide from your cheek to the back of your neck, keeping you close as she kisses you back.
Billieâs lips move against yours frantically, pressing hard and desperate. Sheâs trying to pour everything sheâs feeling into this kiss. And she wants to hear, to feel you do the same.
Her chest is burning, her heart is racing, and when she finally pulls back for a breath, her breathing is ragged. Billie looks at you with heavy-lidded eyes, the blue of her irises almost lost in the darkness of her wide pupils.
âIâm sorry,â You breathed out, lip quivering with adrenaline, âI didnât mean all the fucked up shit I said.â
You gripped at Billieâs shoulder and forearm so tight that thereâd probably bruises after you let go.
But Billie doesnât care if you leave bruises.
In fact, sheâd relish in it.
A physical reminder of what this night and this moment meant to both of you.
She lets out a shaky breath, her eyes never leaving your face. âI donât care, baby. Itâs alright. I forgive you. I forgive you. Just...please...let me...â
Billie pauses, biting her lip. She knows what she wants. But she canât come out and say it. Not right now. Her throat feels like itâs closing up.
She swallows roughly and tries again. âPlease...let me make it up to you...and...and prove to you I still...that I still...â
Billieâs words get caught in her throat, and her fingers tighten even more around your body, trying to get her thoughts in order.
âPlease just...â her voice drops to a low whisper, âplease just...let me...love you...love me back...â
Thereâs a pleading in her voice, a desperate undertone to her words.
Your grip becomes tighter at her words as you look in her eyes. Your heart was practically beating in your ears and throughout your whole body.
Your head felt dizzy and your breathing picked up again.
The whiny tone Billie voice picked up made your skin tingle. Youâve wanted this for so long.
The yearning.
The begging.
And now you finally had it.
âThatâs all Iâve ever wanted from you.â
When you say yes, itâs like a weight has been lifted from her shoulders. And a deep-seated, burning feeling settles in the pit of her stomach.
âThen youâll have it.â
Itâs the only response that comes out of Billieâs mouth before sheâs kissing you again, her hands pulling you even closer to her body.
Her arms wrap around you and sheâs practically clinging to you, like this is the last time sheâs ever going to get to touch you.
Billie didnât take you back to the party after the balcony.
Instead, she took you back to her home.
And you spent the rest of the night wrapped in her sheets and in her arms, whispers of love and forgiveness exchanged between you both as the hours passed.
And in the morning, when you woke up, Billie was already awake holding you in her arms, watching you sleep as she stroked your hair with the gentlest of touches.
And after those long 4 months. She no longer hated the fact that she couldnât love you the way you were meant to be loved.

A Wild Fix: Part 2
Pairing: Frenchie x Reader
Summary: The day of the dreaded Supe Convention is finally here. After being paired with Frenchie for your part of the mission, you run into some unexpected conspiracies with some unexpected people.
Word Count: 2.7k
Warnings: Homelander, mentions of suicide, mentions of suffocation, Supes being Supes, not proofread (they never are)
Notes: Omg guys look at me being fancy and trendy and cool with the photo header >:)....(Please don't make fun of me I'm a writer not an editor, I tried my best okay?) Anyway here's part 2! Finally posting it after a lot of deliberation, but I hope it was worth the wait! Lots of description in this one, I'm proud of myself đȘ Here's Part 1.5 if you missed it. Big plans for part three, enjoy <3
The day of the Supe convention approached fairly quickly. You would be lying if you said that you hadn't been losing sleep over it. The whole situation was sort of a tightrope walk. If you went to the convention with The Boys, it was bound to end badly. Like you had mentioned to Butcher, it was a suicide mission. But if you told Butcher no, there was a possibility of losing the group as a whole. For better or for worse, they had been the only people in your corner since you joined The SevenâŠthe only thing keeping you stable. As much as you hated that basementâŠit had become more of a home to you than the tower, even with Frenchieâs irritating presence. You had lost a lot of things in life. A lot of important things. You knew, even if you didn't want to admit it, that you were not stable enough to lose anything else. The outcome of the convention, at least in your mind, would be grim regardless of whether you worried or not. But you couldn't risk losing them, not when they were the only thing close to family that youâd had sinceâŠwell since you could remember. Calling them family seemed stupid, as youâd only known them for about a month and a half. But truthfully? You didn't know what else to call them. No word seemed good enough.
Butcher had informed Annie of the plan, and the three of you had gotten together to discuss how dangerous the whole ordeal was. Butcher, of course, didnât care. So, like clockwork, when the day arrived, everyone was informed of the base plan, and ready to go. You and Annie had shuttled into the casino turned convention center with the rest of The Seven, as was planned. The ride was tense and awkward, as it usually was when all of you were together. No one except for you and Annie were really friends, but of course Homelander tried to make it seem like you were. Unfortunately, you got the privilege of sitting across from him on the way there. He tried to create conversation, and you played into it, scared of what would happen if you didnât. You two hadnât gotten off to a great start, due to the fact that you had talked back, and he had choked the fear of his every movement into you. And ever since Butcher had info dumped about all the things he had done? You were even more careful around him. The conversation was bland small talk, not exactly focused on anything. You were honestly sort of drifting into space until he mentioned something that caught your attention.
âYouâre young, right? You like music?â He asked, his sickeningly white smile on full display. You tried your best not to make a face, unsure of where he was going with it.
âIâm 27⊠and yeah. Yeah, I like music.â You responded, your fingers moving idly to crack your knuckles one by one. Homelander tilted his head ever so slightly before his gaze shot down to your hands. But as quickly as he had looked, he made eye contact with you once again.
âYou know that guy, Mixer? Heâs performing at the convention. Feisty little thing, Iâve met him on a few occasions. I remember the day he was signed on to the company.â Homelander paused, chuckling. âHe was nothing, then. Fresh out of highschool. The kid could barely look me in the eyesâŠNow heâs dominating the music industry, with shitty pop butâŠStill dominating. Funny how those things work out, huh?â He asked. You nodded, glancing over at Annie for support. You didnât have a clue how any of this was relevant, and you honestly didnât know how to respond. Annie looked back at you and gave an encouraging smile. What a help she is, you thought.
âI met him at this convention a few years ago, right before he joined Residency.â You informed. Homelander audibly scoffed when you mentioned the team.
âResidency? Theyâre a PR nightmare in the making. Itâs such a strange mix of people, too. I never understood where the inspiration came from.â He chuckled.
âWeren't they kinda supposed to mimic Payback to an extent?â You asked, genuinely curious. He waved a dismissive hand.
âPayback was a PR nightmare too. Come on! I mean, one death and the whole team dispands? Where's the strength in that? This is America! Keep fighting until you can't fight anymore. Thatâs what I always say.â His disgusting, distorted sense of patriotism always made you nauseous. The man was a blatant white supremacist, and saw the country like it was some holy land. The ideals itself weren't the most sickening partâŠit was the fact that he wholeheartedly believed them., to the point of influencing others to do the same.
âYeahâŠYeah.â You chuckled awkwardly, putting your hand over your heart, and shaking the other fist in the air. âLand of the free.â With that cringeworthy comment, the conversation sort of died off, ironically just in time for you all to head into the convention center. You and Annie had a few things to handle first, but you had already given The Boys their passes, so they could get an early start.
â§Ëâê·êŠïž¶ïž¶ïž¶ïž¶ïž¶ê·êŠïž¶ïž¶ïž¶ïž¶ïž¶êŠê·â§âËâč
It was around lunch time when you and Annie met up with the rest of the group. You had decided to grab a bite to eat at one of the restaurants in the casino. Everything was open and being paid for by Vought, which was honestly one of the nicer parts of the convention.
âOi. Listen up.â Butcher started, cutting through the small talk once he finally finished his food. âI say we split up into groups, yeh? Divide and conquer. Thereâs an even number of us, which makes it an easy split.â He scanned the group with his eyes. âMM and Annie, you take the arcade floor, all levels.â He pointed to Hughie. âHughie and meself will take the shopping centerâŠâ His eyes fell on you, and he chuckled ever so slightly. You weren't even paying attention, too engrossed in the pasta you were eating. âOi, marinara face.â He called, trying to get you attention. You instinctively looked up and wiped your face, figuring you were being messy.
âSorryâŠâ You grumbled.
âYou and Frenchie take the theaters. Go sit in on as many presentations as possible, and bring back anything of interest.â You almost groaned when he paired you with Frenchie. There were four other people for fucks sake, and he knew for a fact that you two didnât get along. You looked over at Frenchie, narrowing your eyes ever so slightly. He didn't look too happy about it, either, rolling his eyes as he pushed his plate away from him. He muttered to himself in French when he stood up. From what you had gathered over hearing it often, it wasnât the most accurate.
âRight. That settles it. You know your tasks. Meet back here aroundâŠâ Butcher looks down to his watch. â3:30-4:00 yeh?â Everyone exchanged one last âgood luckâ before splitting up, leaving you with Frenchie. The two of you stood in awkward silence for a good minute, before you reluctantly broke it.Â
âOf course he would task us with sitting through the boring stuff.â You joked weakly, hoping heâd laugh. He did, but it wasnât genuine, strained too. Neither of you really had a reason to be nice to the other, in all honesty. All you ever did was insult each other. He shoved his hands into the pockets of his jackets before speaking.Â
âOui. Letâs get it over with, then?â He asked, finally meeting your gaze. He was glaring daggers at you. That pissed you off. You were trying to be civil, at least long enough to get through the night. But when he looked at you like that? Like he wasnât even trying? You glared daggers right back at him. The tension between the two was frustrating, partly because you couldn't figure out what type of tension it was.
âLets.â You responded, your tone unreadable. The sooner this was over, the sooner you could get away from him.
Upon inspection of the schedule that had been sent to you on your phone, the first event happening in the theater on the first floor was a presentation of Voughtâs assets, given by one of the higher ups from the company. Not much info would come from that, you figured, but you wouldn't know unless you sat through it. You turned your head in Frenchieâs direction as the two of you walked out of the restaurant and towards the theater.
âThe first presentation starts in forty minutes. It's nothing exciting but it wouldnât hurt to sit in and listen.â As you waited for Frenchie to respond, you realized your inside hand was a little too close to his. You pulled it away ever so slightly and moved to put your hand in your pocket. Frenchie nodded in response, not seeming too interested. You shouldnât have let that tick you offâŠbut you did.
âListen dude. If youâre gonna be an asshole all day you can go do something else. I can handle this myself.â You said, your tone sharper than intended. Frenchie scoffed and rolled his eyes, looking over at you.
âI did not say anything!â Frenchie protested. âDid my nodding offend you that much?â
âIt was the inflection.â You huffed, rolling your eyes in return.
âMmmâŠOui. The inflection.â He said mockingly. At that point? It was no use fighting with him, so instead of coming up with a witty retort, you looked around the casino. The line outside the door to the theater was already a bit long, and very colorful. Most Supes wore their uniform suits to the convention, so you could pick out almost everyone, at least those who were signed with Vought. Your eyes fell on a few old friends you had gone through the scouting process with, some people you had met at the last convention, and then an extremely familiar color scheme to a certain Supeâs suit that stuck out like a sore thumb. A bright white ensemble that stood out in a sea of colorsâŠone that belonged to the Supe, Laugh Track, one of the Supes you had mentioned to Butcher.
Laugh Track was another member of Residency, one you were not particularly fond of. You had never personally met the guy, but something about him was justâŠunsettling. He was rather tall, not as tall as Playback, but almost a head above Mixer. Build wise, he was lanky, at least from what you could see. His Supe suit mainly consisted of a white jacket that resembled those worn in asylums on television, almost a straight jacket, but with control of his arms. There was no visible zipper, and the jacketâs collar went all the way up his neck. His mannerisms were always strange, which was sort of on brand for him. His powers were described as âweaponized hysteria.â It was just a fancy way of saying that his contagious laughter made people go absolutely insane, or at least laugh until they turned blue and suffocated. Laugh Track always stood very stiffly, and usually had a very blank expression on his face, his eyes wide and observant. Youâd heard him speak in commercials before, and his voice didn't necessarily ease the feeling of dread you felt when you saw him. He had a strange accent, almost British, but not quite. It was very breathy and weirdly persuasive. He wasnât unattractive by any means. He had neatly kept bleach blonde hair, bright blue eyes, pale skinâŠSomething was just off.
Laugh Track was standing towards the end of the line, eerily still, his hands, which were covered in little bandages, twitching ever so slightly at his sides. You couldnât see his eyes, but you could only assume that they were darting around the room. You looked over at Frenchie, who was coincidentally already looking in your direction, his mouth slightly open, as if he was about to say something. You shook off the strange feeling that filled your chest and gestured to Laugh Track.
âDo you see the way his hands are twitching?â You asked, purposefully going out of your way to not look directly at Frenchie. Why the hell was he already looking at you? Was he staring or something? Frenchie looked over to the Supe, his eyes narrowing.
âMaybe he has a tremor. Rude to judge him for it, non?â You huffed and looked back to Frenchie, a less than amused expression on your face. You went to go say something else, but your ears perked up when you heard a familiar voice.
âRoman! There you are. I was looking all over for you.â The voice belonged to the man who was arguably the talk of the whole convention, Mixer. Frenchie followed your gaze and looked over at him too. Mixer originally had a Supe suit as well, but ever since he got popular and became more of a poster child than a Supe, he sort of just wore the stylish shit he wore on stage. On that particular day, the outfit consisted of a sleeveless black t-shirt with his logo on it, and ripped black cargo pants with a bunch of adornments hanging off of them. You had to admit, he knew how to dress. The shirt showed off his tattooed arms, and was tight enough that you could see the outline of his chest. After the slight shock of Mixer just appearing in front of you, you added his comment to your mental index. He called Laugh Track âRoman.â That must have been his legal name.
âI havenât moved since the last time you saw me.â Laugh Track responded, his breathy voice mixed with the accent making you slightly nauseous. Mixer laughed and playfully nudged Laugh Trackâs shoulder.
âI figured you would have gone to get a drink or something.â Mixer smirked and nudged his knee with a bottle of Dr Pepper. Laugh Track turned his head towards Mixer, which gave you a moment to catch a glimpse of his smile. It wasâŠunsettling. Disturbing, even, he looked almost manic. But Mixer? He just tilted his head, and smiled sweetly back at him.
âI told you that I wasnât thirsty.â The taller man let out a chuckle that honestly made you want to walk away. It was so unnerving, yet Mixer didn't seem affected at all. You and Frenchie made eye contact for a moment, before looking back to the two Supes. Frenchie looked just as uncomfortable as you.
âI know you did, but this thing is going to be long. And if we intend to get the info that he wants us to get, you can't be running on nothing.â
You played that sentence back in your head for a moment. The info that he wanted them to get? Who was âHeâ? And why were other people at this convention also digging for information? Especially people like Mixer. He had it made in the shade, what else would he need to know?
âYou are being very loud about this. Hush.â Laugh Track said, taking the bottle of soda from Mixerâs hand. Mixer laughed softly and nodded.
âRight, right. My bad.â Before Laugh Track could respond, the doors to the theater opened, and the line started to move. âRemember, seats closest to the under-stage door on the left side of the theater. He said they should be reserved.â Mixer reminded as the two started walking, their shoulders practically glued together.
âYes. Under-stage door on the left side of the theater, stage right in perspective of the presenter, reserved seats.â Laugh Track responded. You and Frenchie exchanged a look as the Supeâs in front of you had their lanyard passes scanned, and walked into the theater. As your own passes were scanned, Frenchie leaned over to you.
âLet's follow them and try to sit as close as we can get, oui?â He suggested. You nodded. That actually wasnât a half bad idea.
âGood idea.â You responded. You could have sworn that you saw Frenchie smirk. The two of you kept a safe distance away from Laugh Track and Mixer as you made your way into the theater, but made sure you didn't lose sight of them. The flow of the crowd pushed you and Frenchie closer together, but in the heat of the task, you didn't really notice.
Maybe this presentation wouldn't be so useless after all.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorta kinda leaving you on a cliff hanger there if ya squint. I really like where this is headed and I'm very excited to start writing part 3. Lemme know what you think! Full disclosure I laughed harder than I should have at the âLand of the freeâ comment so I hope it made you chuckle. Adieu!

Friends with Benefits
Kinktober IV
Summary: How a friends with benefits relationship would go with them. Characters: Simon âGhostâ Riley, Johnny âSoapâ Mactavish, Kyle âGazâ Garrick, John Price, König, Alejandro Vargas, Rudy Vargas, Valeria Garza, all x gn!reader Rating: NSFW (mdni) Word Count: 1200ish
Ghost
In the beginning it was a lot more âbenefitsâ than it was âfriendsâ. He had a lot of issues to let you in any further than just sleeping with you.Â
You were an outlet for frustration and he was entirely honest about that and made sure you didn't feel used or led on.
It took a while but eventually you were able to spend the night, he started calling you when he needed company and eventually he even opened up to you a little and you finally got to understand why he acts the way he does.
Heâs a very attentive lover and now that he has a closer bond with you, also an incredible friend. He is always there to listen, even if he often doesnât know what advice to give you.
Often calls you over late at night or right after returning from missions, just needing a way to blow off steam. He tends to be a little rough with you, but only with your consent.
He isnât interested in any relationship or attachments so he is quite happy with your arrangement.Â
Soap
You and Johnny had been friends for super long before you eventually got closer to him. It was just supposed to be a sleepover so you could binge some horror movies together, but at some point his hand had ended up on your thighs, then you had ended up in his lap and the moment you started kissing you both knew it was over.Â
Except for having sex not much has changed between the two of you, most of your hookups still happen during movie nights or other friendship hangouts that you would have had before starting to sleep together.
Itâs becoming a problem when people start asking questions since neither of you pay any attention to the movies youâre supposed to be watching. âOh, you watched (...) on the weekend, right?? How was it?â âUh⊠Good⊠I think.âÂ
You are so casual and comfortable with each other that there was never really a phase of awkwardness between you two, it just felt natural.Â
He honestly doesn't care if anyone finds out, is the type to pull you into a supply closet for a quickie.
Price
You are both very happy with the arrangement, even though except for missing full commitment you are basically in a relationship.Â
He will always make sure you know you are taken care of and that you know how much he appreciates you, take you out for dinner or cook for you, get you gifts.Â
Compared to the others, your relationship is a little more mature and less impulsive, you had been friends for a long while, tried to date but didnât quite work out. Still, you both had to admit you enjoyed having sex with one another, so you just decided to go back to that part.Â
Heâll check in with you often to make sure you are still happy with the situation and it is understood that if either of you ever find a serious relationship youâll have to stop.
He likes to make sure he has his time with you, whenever you have a "date" he wants to have the whole day off.
Gaz
It was supposed to be just a friends with benefits situation but failed almost immediately. You both tried so hard to keep it casual but it was a lost cause from the first time.Â
Gaz used to have hookups quite often when off duty, but now that he has you, he doesnât really want or need that anymore. He doesnât want to admit it to himself, let alone you, but heâs kind of obsessed with you.
At this point you are spending so much time at each otherâs places that you might as well move in, but both of you are afraid to suggest taking the next step because that is not what we agreed on.
He is so sweet, always taking his time with you, making sure you are the priority and that you feel well taken care of.
So good at giving oral.
König
Youâre one of the few people from his past that he is still in contact with and though you donât get to see him often, itâs a good time whenever you do.
Itâs good for him to have someone from his childhood that can give him a reality check and make sure he doesnât forget where he came from when he needs it.
He isnât the best at communicating, which your situation requires a lot of, so you run into problems at times. You donât see each other often, most of the time there is a lot of distance dividing you, plus the time zones, so there is a lot to be navigated.
He likes and appreciates you a lot though, so you make it work somehow.
Most of the time he is super gentle with you and will do whatever it takes to make sure you finish first, however there have been situations where he just needed to use you to get some negative emotions out of his system after a failed mission.
AlejandroÂ
He always said he wasnât one for casual sex, that he was made for relationships, but he had to learn that that just isnât fully true. Once you and him started sleeping together he had to realize how convenient it was to have someone to help him have his needs met without the responsibilities that come with actual relationships.
Heâs a great lover, extremely attentive, very loving, and skillful at what he does. Heâd never be selfish and only get himself off.
Rudy
You have been friends with benefits for as long as you can remember, so the communication between the two of you is great since you just know each other so well.
It started when you were joking around with him after a bad date how dating around wasn't worth it just to have mediocre sex with people you barey liked and he got competetive about it.
"Bet I could do better." (He in fact could and did do better)
You donât sleep with each other that often, just once every few months when you both feel like it. Most of the time when you hang out, things stay strictly platonic, that is just the way things work out for you.
Valeria
She doesnât have many friends that she can actually trust, so she was terrified to push your relationship any further than a friendship. She didnât want to risk losing you, one of the few people who knew her before the army, before the cartel.Â
Still, one thing led to another and sheâd never want to go back to before. She knows you might not fully support her work in the cartel, but that you still feel nothing but loyalty for her.
She doesnât have time for an actual relationship and also wouldnât want to put someone in danger of getting caught up in the crossfire of cartel dealings, so you being fairly low-commitment for her is ideal.
She can be a bit of a selfish lover, but you adore pleasuring her, so it all works out in the end.

Tara Carpenter/Fem!Reader
Summary: Cast Away AU. What if Tara was with someone when you returned
Warnings: angst but happy ending
WC: 2.8k
Authorâs Note: requested by @blackwidowifey Hope you like it dude. Sorry for any mistakes
The flight home, your mom refused to let you out of your sight. To be home, back in your that had not changed had felt so surreal. A part of you was scared, scared that you'd wake from this dream and be back on that island. If that were to happen you weren't so sure you'd survive.
"You don't need anything sweetheart?" Your dad's voice brought you back to the present, you were still standing in front of the door of your room.
"No, I'm okay dad. Thank you."
Your dad couldn't begin to imagine what you went through for the past three years. Almost four. He knew you had changed. Not just physically but mentally as well. To see you like this. So confused, lost. It hurt him. He wanted to help you. But he just didn't know how.
You were told by your sister that things had changed quite a bit. From your friends and Tara no longer living in Woodsboro. To your family not being in contact with Tara for the past year.
"Riley?" You had entered your sisters room, who didn't even live here anymore. Another thing you missed that you were now an aunt. She had gotten married two months ago. To the man she had loved for so long.
And you missed it.
"Yeah? Everything okay?" Riley had never moved so fast to get home the moment her mom called to inform her that you had been found. Almost four years thinking her little sister was dead. The sob she had let out had alarmed her husband. Her husband. The man that you met, the man that held her when the cops told the family that your flight had crashed and there were no traces of the plane. The man that held her when the search party gave up after just two months of searching. The man that kept her going after your funeral.
The wedding she had, had been small. She had no bridesmaids, that spot had been reserved for you. You were her little sister but also her best friend.
"What made you stop talking to the Tara and the others?" It had only been a day since you returned back home. You were still extremely weak, bruised a little too easily, still had some sun burns but with the luxury of some aloe. Those were healing a lot faster.
"They moved a year after the search party was called off. They tried to stay here but it had been hard for them. Tara took your dea-disappearance hard. She wasn't the same. She was different, depressed, in denial. Sam moved her to New York permanently so she could heal and move on. After a year of them being there. Our connection kinda stopped. I didn't reach out and they didn't either."
You listened to everything she was saying. Almost four years of being gone. You knew that if you made it and came back. Things would be different. People would have moved on.
"Can I..can I see your phone." Riley handed you her phone. You opened instagram with one person in mind. Typing in her username. She hadn't posted in a quite a bit. But what she had were just some nature shots. So you moved on to the next person. Mindy. The first three picture being of the friend group with new faces. A average height man had his arm around Tara. A smile on her face as she smiled at the camera.
Your vision blurred with tears. The same feeling of loss grew. Tara, had have moved on. And you couldn't be upset about that. You had no right to be upset. Tara could wait forever.
She didn't need you anymore.

You now hated the smell of fish and coconut. You vowed on that island that if you ever got off it you would never touch fish or coconuts ever again. After your dad said he had a few things he had to do. You jumped at the opportunity to get out of the house. It had only been four days since you were back home. The past four days you had spent them in the house resting.
When he drove to the cemetery you knew what he was doing. Seeing your own tombstone was something you never really thought of. Seeing the rock was bone chilling.
Going to the store after that was the distraction you needed. Helping your dad with the grocery shopping, but the more you moved around the more tired you were starting to feel, you tried to ignore it. You went three and a half years moving around barefoot and half nude. A little walking around a store shouldn't bother you. Your dad saw that you were getting tired and was quick to gather the groceries.

Meeting your niece was as tear filled as could be. The guilt of missing everything, you and your sister had always talked about being there for one another. You knew it was out of your control. But you could have tried to leave the island a whole lot sooner than you did. Granted it did take you awhile to understand how the changes in the seasons affected the waves.
"Are you ready?" Your dad asked, he was already dressed in a business suit. You had been for a while the one to take over your dad's business when he retired. The original plan was to finish college and then take over. But with everything that happened you didn't know where to stand. You weren't sure if that was still the plan. Six days since being back home and you still felt so, lost.
"Do I have to go?" You were in a suit as well. Matching the one your dad had.
Your dad sighed softly going into your room to stand behind you. You were looking at yourself in the mirror. You were healing nicely and quickly. Your cheeks filling in with all the food your mom had cooked. No longer looking hollow. He couldn't imagine how hungry you had been.
"It's up to you buddy. If you're comfortable enough. We could go or we can stay here and watch some Harry Potter. You know they made a game about Hogwarts."
"Really?"
He chuckled at the excitement in your eyes. He will always see you as his little girl. The amount of times he cried alone in your room, holding the stuff Curious George bear that you had refused to throw away. He reached over and fixed your crooked tie.
He could ditch the business party. He was boss after all. What he says goes.
"You know what let's go to the store buy a ps5 and we will play the game together."

Being back home after a year of being gone was a bit rough. Being back for thanksgiving break to be with her mother. One thing she had yet to do was something that she hadn't done in a whole year.
"Hey you okay?" The feeling of heavy hairy arm being wrapped around her shoulder. Pulling her attention away from the direction of your house. She hadn't spoken to your family in a year. A part of her felt guilty for stopping. But her boyfriend who was friend at first, had said it would be for the best. He had said she'd never move on if she never did. And in a moment of weakness, she stopped.
"Yea Frankie I'm fine. I have to go somewhere. I'll be right back okay?" With quick kiss she left her house before he could say anything.
It had been a year since she last saw your tombstone.
*
Parking her car, and walking the rest of the way. Only for her body to freeze in place. Your tombstone was gone. The patch of dirt was still fresh. The flowers she had dropped. The same sinking feeling of losing you came back.
"Excuse me where's the tombstone that was here." The gardener who was taking out over grown weeds stopped what he was doing to look at the brunette.
"Uh I heard from one of the workers. They were moving and took their daughter with them. I'm sorry miss that's all I know."
Moving? She picked up the flowers and rushed to her car. She needed to get to your parents house. The drive there was fast. She may have ran a stop sign or two. Yes, she may have started dating now. Mindy had pushed her to say yes to Frankie. She knew Mindy wanted what was best for her. And she won't deny that she did have fun with Frankie. He was sweet, a bit of a douche but sweet nevertheless.
Her car screeched at the sudden break. The 'for sale' sign was front and present.
Why would they move?

Being in a new house was nice. There was a big pool and hug backyard. A week since you been rescued. Your new room was much bigger than the one you had before. You had been building the courage to call Tara. When you finally did call the call never went through meaning this number was no longer in service.
You didn't know how else to reach her. Just tell them you were okay. That you were alive. But the more you thought about it. Remembering the picture you saw, they looked so happy. Did you really want to crash back into their lives, by all off sudden coming back from the dead.
"Honey, I have to go to work. You okay-Can I go with you?" You asked before your dad could finish his sentence. With a smile he nodded. Not caring that you were dressed casually. He was just excited to see you back in the office with him. He remembers clearly how you used always follow him around the office. Remembering how his little girl always sat on his chair. You used to be so small, now you were taller than him.
Curse his own tall genes.
*
Being back in the office had been as overwhelming as you had expected. Everyone greeting you, everyone looking at you like they've seen a ghost. It was all so overwhelming. But what really had you overwhelmed, had you feeling like you couldn't breath was when you saw the familiar brunette. She had looked as beautiful as the last time you saw her. She was breathtaking, she looked more mature.
Without really thinking about it your feet moved on their own accord. Halting, when a man took her hand. You heart breaking no matter how much she wish it didn't at the sight of her smile. A smile directed at someone else.
~
Tara was back in the building after a year of not setting foot in it. Being back her felt odd. But Frankie had an interview here. And he wanted her to come with. When she left what was once your house. She didn't know what to do. She tried calling your mom, your dad, your sister but none of them answered their phones. So she hoped that being back in your father's building. She'd run into him. Ask him why he took down your tombstone.
She felt Frankie take her hand. A small smile she towards him before looking away. She needed to find your dad. She looked around the lobby only for eyes to snap back to where she sawâŠyou? Expect it couldnât be. The person she could have sworn was you was walking away now.
âTara? Tara where are you going?â
Ignoring his voice as she basically ran to where you once stood. It couldnât be you. You were..dead. Gone. Watching the back of this person grow closer as they both turned into a less crowded hall way.
Her hand reaching forward to grab this persons arm. The moment this person turned around it had felt like all the air in her lungs had been punched out of her body. Her eyes refusing to believe who was standing in front of her. Those y/ec eyes that she had missed so badly. You were as beautiful as the day she last saw you at that airport. Those eyes that were now filled with tears.
âY/n?â
You didnât know what to say. You wanted nothing more than to pull her into a tight hug. Just like you had imagined. But now you werenât sure if you could. You didnât know your place in her life anymore. You didnât have to say anything at the end. She had basically thrown herself at you. Her arm wrapping around your neck as she hugged you tightly. Her cries being muffled as she cried into your neck.
You lived in the moment. Forgetting the man she was with as you hugged her back just as tight. Even if this would be for the last time.
âYouâre alive. When-when did you get back? Why didnât you call?â She pulled away to look up at you. You looked different, skinner.
âLast week. I uh was on deserted island. Been there for the past few years. I-I tried calling. Your number wasnât the same.â You reluctantly pulled away. When you saw from behind Tara that same man walking towards you and Tara.
Tara was still trying wrap her mind around what was happening. Feeling like this was all a dream. The way you looked lost and heartbroken made her want to just cry and pull you into another hug. To hug you. Kiss you. Her hands refused to completely let you go. She was confused on why you were letting go. Her hold on your hands was tight.
âIâm so sorry Y/n. If I would known I-Everything okay here babe?â
The confusion was no longer there. Now she knew why. The you looked away, this time completely letting her go. She knew exactly what you were thinking. That she didnât love you anymore, which completely wasnât the case. Her own eyes filled with tears. The guilt she had growing. Ever since agreeing to going out with Frankie it had felt like she was being unfaithful. She knew it wasnât cause at the time she didnât know you were still alive.
Seeing the hurt and heart broken look on your face (that you were trying to hide) brought that guilt back in bigger than before. Your eyes finally hers. And she saw the acceptance, the forced smile. The tears you were trying to blink away.
âItâs okay Tara. Itâs okay.â It was all you could say. Hoping your voice didnât give away that you wanted nothing more than to cry. With a small nod. You dug into your pocket. Taking out the pocket watch. The watch you had refused to go anywhere with out. You turned around and walked away.
She watched you walk away before looking down at the scratched up pocket watch. Opening the watch. Seeing the familiar picture. Except now it was faded. The picture becoming blurry. All the memories flashing in her head. The love she had for you was still there. Still here. Had grown more and more even when she thought you were dead. She still loved you.
You. It always had been you.
No one else.
âTara?â
Her eyes looked back at Frankie. âIâm sorry Frankie. I canât do this.â It was all she said before she ran to catch up to you. She was not going to let you go. Not bothering to look back as she tried to find in the crowd that had quickly filled the lobby. She knew it was the lunch hour, she needed to find you.
She was quick to step on top of the receptionist desk. Ignoring her commands to get down. She scanned the room seeing your figure getting closer to the front doors.
âY/N WAIT!!â She didnât care that the voice echoed through out the big room. It grabbed your attention along with everyone else in the room. She jumped down the desk and the crowd quickly parted. You were on the other side. Eyes red from trying to hold in your tears. Quick to get to your side. Stopping directly in front of you.
âI love you. Only you. No one else.â
âBut you looked hap-I could never be happy without you. I donât love him.â
âAre you su-â You were cut off by the pair of lips you had dreamed of. The feeling of her lips on yours was like kissing her for the first time. Your arms wrapping around her body, bringing her closer.
You no longer felt the dreadful feeling of loss. No longer did you feel lost. You felt complete.
Whole once again.
