The benevolent and radiant Goddess of Light has unveiled the fabled realm of Skyworld to entities beyond the esteemed Olympian deities. A maiden of incomparable beauty gracefully roamed in the Palace of the Sky. She twinkled in stardust and danced with constellations; at least, that was what he comprehended in his mind. It became unmistakably clear that the esteemed Goddess Palutena endeavored to forge alliances with exceptional and promising allies.

"Thanks for your patience, Rosalina. Lady Palutena has been working tirelessly on matters regarding both mortals and gods. I'm sure she'll be here shortly."

Captain Pit exuded a warm and courteous aura as he led her on a leisurely detour from the corridor and into the gardens, a favored spot for Palutena and himself whenever downtime was available. The captivating splendor of the gardens unfurled around them, bedecked with a wide variety of blossoms, graceful ivory sculptures, and the melodious babbling of fountains scattered throughout the enchanting landscape. Each component flourished in the revitalizing embrace of the crisp air and sunlight, giving rise to an ethereal sanctuary of serenity and loveliness.

Call it childish curiosity or an attempt to break the ice between them, but the words practically blurt out of the Captain of Angels.

     When debating the divine, it was a line most fine that the cosmic woman would ride. By technical standards, the word demigod would be the most applicable. But you would certainly be excused if the difference seemed hard to spot.

     Though it had been eons since, she started as a mortal woman no different than you nor I. Only through untimely death and sacrificial rebirth was the gift of reincarnation given. She was reborn with a might most divine indeed. And to this day, the radiance of the cosmos poured over her like a familiar coat. That air of infinite space, of sparkling stars shimmered in endless night. It followed her with each step taken... even amongst these castles in the clouds where the sun reigned supreme, the simple stars seemed to watch her every movement. Please, dear viewer. Remember this fact well: Stars do not depart during the day. They are merely outshined by the light of the sun against our atmosphere.

     Careful eyes can see that they will not go unmissed. Not here, not now. Stars will shine brighter out of respect for their protector's arrival. They are camera flashes cheering her name. They are spotlights bringing a guiding light to her pathway. They are her children. And she is their cosmic mother. Stars will shine even against the brightest of skies, for that is what she deserves.

     The very same stars flit inside her celestial sights. They paint a relaxing night sky behind the eyes as the sky's cherished captain speaks.

     "Of course, my dear. Please, there is no need to rush on my account. With a waiting room as grand as this, I'm sure I'll be plenty occupied until your Goddess's eventual arrival." A voice chuckles through her glossed smile. It is simple, it is easygoing. For she speaks the truth! She has seen every inch the cosmos have to offer, yet she had never quite witnessed a realm such as this.

     Truly, it was no wonder angels made this place their home. For every warm hearth and cozy leatherbound storybook the Comet Observatory held, the grandiose nature of Skyworld seemed to show the real breadth of a Goddess's domain. Steps followed behind her guide's pace lightly, a general ethereal hover cutting itself short to feel the path she walked upon. She wanted to hear just how specifically her heels clicked upon this perfectly cut stone. The scents of flowers abroad, the sunlight golden in both light and nature... her own Garden Dome at home was starting to feel a mite bit rural in lieu of all this!

     Ah... The very thought made her happy. Every day existence proves her wrong and gives her something new to gaze upon is a good day indeed.

     Alas, in the splendor of it all, she had been neglecting her duties as a good guest. Yes, she had been a touch on the quiet side for quite some time. A head shifted on a swivel, she gazed like a child taken to their first amusement park. Or perhaps someone traveling to the big city for the first time, then spying buildings that could poke the heavens in their height. The other's voice comes as a slight surprise, attention shifting suddenly as he starts.

     And again must a light chuckle be administered to the open air, gentle amusement playing at risen rosy cheeks. So, tales of her exploits have reached even the heavens?

     "My-my! I am ever impressed at how far word can spread~. Well... If you must know... In some ways, perhaps the stories are true. I am not akin to the fabled Atlas holding up the skies upon his back, but I have come quite far by bringing in those that make up the universe. There is much that I have done in my lifespan, and there is still much yet to do. But for wayward souls and wandering travelers... To the people near and far that I have met, quite like how I'm meeting you. I simply wish to help... simply.

     "To tell you the truth, I think I've grown weary of the grandiose in my years. It's lovely to escape to it here and there, but those simple gestures in which bounties of kindness are stowed are what have brought me the deepest satisfaction. To help where I can, as I can. So I roam. Drifting from star to star, from planet to planet. Helping as I please.

     "...To cradle is to hold gently and protectively. And there is much power a gentle hug carries, no matter how mundane it may seem on the surface. Dearest Captain, I pray you've kept your heart soft and tender for those who need not the coarse hand of warfare. It pays to be multifaceted, or so I've been told."

What if for the drums, they're shaped like a half circle? Like the two outer ones curve up instead of sticking out? It may help the overall shape. This is just a idea due to some drum sets I've seen having different layouts and shapes

While it might not have shown much in his expression or body language, Harken did enjoy these sorts of events. The music, the dancing -- the delicate balance of politics and frivolity. He had attended many in his time as a knight. Often to the side, sometimes in the mix, always at attention and on duty in service to his lord.

Which is why it didn't go unnoticed when a suspicious character approaches his Lord Eliwood.

The exchange is short and seems pleasant, but Harken notes that not one but two drinks are foisted upon the young man before brooch decorations are exchanged and the two drift apart into the crowd.

With a narrowed gaze taking in blond hair and a ridiculous shirt, Harken makes a note to himself to find the man later in the night before maneuvering his way through the press of ball-goers to Eliwood's side. Another glass is offered, brilliant crystal clear with cool water, as the knight makes his presence known.

"Are you...Are you enjoying yourself, my lord Eliwood? It will be a long night, please, take care."

Oh, yes. There is definitely a need for water. Eliwood is not thinking about that, however; usually a responsible (enough) young man he does not drink too much. With the addition of outside forces and a kind man named Sir Naesala (who just wants him to have a good time! he's sure of that) he is not as hydrated as he should be.

Harken is a welcome presence by Eliwood's side, and though Eliwood cannot be sure that this knight is enjoying himself, he knows that he is -- and wants to reassure him.

He takes the water and sips it. "Thank you, Sir Harken," he takes another sip. "I had been forgetting to drink water, admittedly. With all of this dancing and meeting new people, I've been a touch distracted. Have you seen some of the marvelous outfits? That's not to mention the food -- have you tried the pomegranates?"

( he will later realize that he rambles a touch when he's tipsy )

"I met up with Hector a little while past. He was disappointed that he was unable to bring his axe."

Don't you think that it's a bit dodgy how 13 basically kills a TARDIS to kill the Daleks and never gets called out on it?

Oh it's super messed up she did it, it's also a bit messed up she wasn't called on it, either, lbr, but this has been one of those things i'm not sure how i feel about. Because hm, hello, that was a murder. That they didn't face consequences for, or even a call out. But also, it's not the first time the doctor's done a murder and not been called on it or faced any consequences for, it happens occasionally.

I know it's happened more than once, but hilariously the only one i can remember rn is one also written by chibnall. Maybe he just has a ~thing (I am talking about dinosaurs on a space ship, which is an episode i hate and probably only remember Because i can't stand it, but still). I distinctly remember rewatching the episode and thinking to myself that I could add that to my list of episodes where the doctor offs somebody, and now I can't remember the others, which is typical, really. Though, I personally think 12 pushed the guy, because he'd never have jumped on his own, so that moment's on the list.

(this whole list was a Thing to start with bc i find it fascinating that the doctor sometimes casually does genocides and doesn't catch Half the fandom crap for it than they do if they kill one person. Something something about crimes that we are able to comprehend and feel emotionally and those we aren't. Like, I cannot comprehend the total annihilation of a species in a single second at all, but I can comprehend a single death and have an emotional response to that one. I find it fascinating ngl).

But to get back on subject, in the end, I think my real answer to this would be to say that it depends on Why she's not called on it. When it aired, people in fandom immediately clocked what she'd done was bad and messed up, so obviously a telling was not strictly Necessary in that people worked it out for themselves.

But, was she not called out for it in the show bc A) they didn't believe it was Necessary to do so bc it wasn't supposed to be bad, B) they didn't believe it was necessary to do so because they realised the audience members both old enough to understand and familiar enough with the snow to know tardises are alive would realise what had happened Without mentioning it and know what she'd done was bad without a hand hold or C) she was not called on it simply because there was nobody To call her on it.

Or it could be a mix of the three different things above. Like, they thought it was messed up for her to do it, but she simply was not called on it bc it was exactly like a few of her other greatest and very messed up hits. Nobody had the context to call her on it, so she wasn't called on it even though it Was messed up just because nobody knew it was messed up.

I like, work on a case by case basis as to whether media should call out its characters for bad behaviour and if it's wrong for them not to because you can't paint everything with the same brush and have any sense of nuance, so I guess I think it depends on if you think it's acceptable or not for a show to portray a character doing something bad that is obviously bad without mentioning it, and if that not doing so implies any kind of acceptance of it. I don't think in general the lack of call outs in media imply acceptance, personally, but that doesn't mean there aren't times when call outs Are necessary.

But I do genuinely think it depends on their reasoning as to if it's actually dodgy they didn't do it or not. Like, if they didn't call her on it bc she apparently did nothing wrong, that's dodgy as hell. If they didn't because they portrayed something bad and trusted the audience to get that without being told, that's ambiguous to me and i am personally unsure how i feel about this instance, and since i've not worked it out in two years, I don't expect to any time soon.

If they didn't do it for watsonian reasons involving the lack of informed knowledgeable characters actually there to call her on it, then i'm fine with that in a vacuum? The fam don't ever actually work out if they think the tardis is alive or some kind of super argumentative AI and that 13 implodes one would probably suggest the ai thing to them, lets be real (even though they'd be very wrong, she hides her worst from them). Jack has basically been trained by the doctor to not ask too many questions at this point by the doctor treating him awfully when he does, And on top of that, he's more ruthless than the doctor to start with and I doubt he'd care much.

I think, in general, instead of a callout, i'd have personally liked a Consequence instead? I don't think bad actions necessarily require a call out bc audiences aren't thick and neither are kids, especially In context of the lack of people to call her out on it. But I do think that consequences should be more often utilised unless you're deliberately showing a moment where somebody Gets Away With Something.

So I'd have loved a consequence for her. Like, 13 desperately needs another tardis being alive and well to do something vital and Oh No the world is going to burn to a cinder bc she killed the last one in a callous last ditch plan which suddenly makes it very clear exactly What she did by killing one! So she's slapped in the face by it even though she didn't have anybody to call her on it at the time. The audience is reminded that what she did was wrong without compromising characterisation, ~viola.

TLDR, it depends on Why she wasn't called on it as to if i think it's necessarily dodgy she wasn't (personally i'd have called her on it, but I don't think it's an automatic black mark she wasn't considering the circumstances of there being nobody would could effectively do so), but i do think it's dodgy she didn't catch any consequences for it, actually? idk, i would have done it differently but i'm a terrible writer so I don't know how. I also would like to know the plan for this show pre-pandemic so i can see what didn't happen through necessity via episode cuts and what didn't happen bc nobody thought it was necessary. It's so hard trying to pick apart anything post rotd without knowing this.

OHOHOO I thought I had passed the point where someone who followed me Wouldn't know who Lazarus is... but if you're newer I guess you probably would have missed the Hayday where there were new pictures of him every like.. two days!

but yes, absolutely, I will tell you about the Boy :3c

To start with the Context: Lazarus Bosch is my Resident Evil Village OC, brought to proverbial life about twoooo months after the game came out as a result of me falling terribly in love with Karl Heisenberg (and the general world of the game) and needing to Do something about it Lmao He changed a fair bit since his first iterations(none of which made it online), and originally I wasn't going to share him with anyone, but as I gained confidence with my fanart, and as his story kept swirling and growing in my mind, I saw other folks posting about their own OC's and I let go of the Cringe and threw him out into the world (/v-v)/ At this point in time I am working on actually Writing his and Karl's story in the form of a Fan Comic called Flesh and Hot Iron (FaHI, for short)

Now! the boy himself! Lazarus, before he is anything else, is an artist. In the old world he made inert mixed-media taxidermy Automata, in The Village he makes sculptures of living flesh using the power of the Cadou. His art was and Is his world, it is Creation before all else, up to and including his Self Preservation Instincts. Which is... how he ended up in The Village in the first place really. He's passionate, frequently obsessive, frantic and often moody, just imagine what it would look like if you took a Mad Scientist and shoved it in the skin of a Pretentious Artist and that's pretty squarely Lazarus at a glance. Elegant and Terrifying, Beautiful and Filthy, a Man with an Inhuman nature... He's not that simple as a character in the wider scope of his narrative of course, he's got Much more Going On, but we can't be here Forever and also there will be the whole Comic to get into that! (I am also Notoriously bad for expressing these sorts of things in words alone, I need to show that man in Situations to get the point across dfjkghsdg) as the impetus for his creation would imply he and Karl are Together and the story of their relationship and lives in the Village are the core of the Narrative for FaHI, Though Lazarus is the focal character we see the world through. I usually describe them as like.. the same note played at different octaves, two harmonious pieces come together to form something great and terrible and resonant, if not just straight up fucking annoying. Their story is about trying, about wanting to try, about making the best of a bad situation and fumbling your way to something Good when you don't really know what that means, about being human but also being monsters, about loving both Because and In Spite Of, about rage and fear, and of course about Nasty Old Man Sex... and that.. should theoretically give you the basics!
