my favorite svsss moment of all time is when shen qingqiu was learning about tianlang-jun’s plan, thinking it’s the stereotypical villain plan, and says “oh let me guess?? You’re gonna destroy all of humanity?!?” And tianlang-jun paused, legitimately confused, and goes “uh… no????? Why would you… think that??? I love humans I just think the ones who sealed me, betrayed my heart and tried to kill my son should die but that’s kinda reasonable idk”

No one asked for this but ranking my fave Yue Qingyuan ships.

1. QiJiu

The OG doomed fated lovers, pining from afar and silent loyalty and desire. Would literally die for each other but can’t even have a more than five lines of dialogue before ruining their conversations due to miscommunication that could be easily resolved if they would just talk. However, communication is forbidden in danmei world which is why the fic is always so so good and cathartic. Both are obsessed with each other and want to attic wife each other (YQY would love to be trapped and kept by SJ). When they are not healthy or sane they are at their best because SJ would crawl inside YQY's ribcage to feel his beating heart if he could and YQY would open up the cavity to let him if he only asked. The problem is he'd never ask.

(this is also why omega verse works well for them where yqy is an omega)

2. YueLiu or (LiuQiJiu)

Are you telling me Liu Qingge in canon admires YQY and he is probably the only person in the sect that can defeat him, is a kind big brother figure, and he’s NOT crushing hard on him? PLS be for real!! Also YQY appreciating LQG’s bluntness and loyalty because he doesn’t need to second guess his intentions. In a sect full of noble born fussy cultivators, he appreciates LQG’s willingness to get dirty and do what needs to be done to finish a night hunt.

In a LiuQiJiu scenario it is a love triangle (YQY oblivious ofc) until they realize that hmmm maybe this guy I hate is hot and there has to be some reason zhangmen shixiong is so obsessed with him what IS it until they see the light and start thinking about the other under YQY and being like hmmmmm and the competing with each other turning into competing using YQY (✿◠‿◠) who is just relieved his shidis are finally getting along and a little resigned at their mutual attraction until they’re like HEY! You’re our North star get it together or we will fight each other to the death without your intervening here.

3. YueShang

Working class solidarity formed over long nights going over sect paper work together and shared exasperation at everyone and everything they have to deal with including their martial siblings. Also SQH knowing Everything and knowing when to step around issues and maybe also he doesn't think SJ is the worst which elevates him in YQY's eyes. YQY also being slightly endeared by his little shit behavior because he has a Type and also aren't they all just aspects of Airplane's psyche?? also yqy is unreasonably devoted to a fault and that is something sqh (and by extension lbh) might actually want in moments of feeling undeserving of love??? i also have my long standing headcanon that yqy (and then sj) was the first character sqh made but eventually regulated to the side for the lbh story. Also YQY's big tits and naturally amicable demeanor has screamed out SQH's daddy issues since day 1 i rest my case

4. TLJ/YQY

Widower4Widower the only other person that stands a chance putting me in the dirt (again) there are no expectations of each other because that has been a recipe for disaster before. Also mapping the scars they left on each other (or at least TLJ-> YQY)

5. YueMoShang or BinggQiJiu

I hit 7k recently after losing almost 1.5k followers when I converted to a Reylo blog (not sorry in the slightest) and decided it was time to finally compile some of the INCREDIBLE fanfics that I’ve read since joining the fandom in December. 

I’m constantly impressed by the talent around here and I'm so grateful to love a ship that has some of the most amazing content I’ve ever seen. The creators in this fandom are second to none. I’m so thankful for all they do and all that they give to us.

The Jedi Path  by SouthsideStory | 19k | E | I am such a sucker for Jedi Academy Ben and Rey. It’s everything I never knew I needed, and this fic is a beautiful rendition. If you know me at all, you know that I devour Angst with a Happy Ending stories, and this is no exception to that rule.

Exile by Ernzo | 22k | E | Oof. This one hurts. Leia sends Rey to the planet where Ben is exiled. It’s angsty and sad and cathartic in every way. I’ve read it dozens of times. 

Before the Saber Swings by @waterlilyrose​ | 28k | M |  Fuck. When I tell y’all that this story fucked me up, I mean it from the bottom of my s o u l. It stayed with me for days. I literally couldn’t get it out of my head. It felt so real to me that I was in physical pain while reading it. I also made an AU gifset of the fic with a quote from Buffy because I’m extra and love pain. 

penitence by @bettsfic​ | 16k | M | Look, Betts is one of my favorite fanfiction authors of all time. Her Bellarke works are some that I’ve read dozens of times and I was fucking ecstatic when I found out she also writes Reylo. This is an A+ TROS fix-it that is lovely and soft and sweet. 

The Writings of Ben Solo by BurnedStars777 | 39k | E | This was recced to me by the fabulous @galacticidiots​ and is just a fantastic story all around. Rey finds Ben’s journal whilst stuck on a planet with Kylo Ren and she (eventually) connects the dots. Rey falling in love with Ben sight unseen? Here. For. it.  find a thread to pull, and we can watch it unravel by again_please | 17k | E | A fantastic post-TLJ story with angsty and broody Ben and just some all around quality smut. I devoured this and have read it multiple time since. 

We Could Plant a House, We Could Build a Tree by @likeadove​ | 124k | E | I will probably never stop reading this fic. It’s such a beautiful coming of age story for Rey and her relationship with Ben as she grows up is just... gah. It’s fantastic. Please read it.    

Soul Searching by OptimisticBeth | 205k | E | Soulmates AU where Ben is Rey’s teacher? Sign me the fuuuuck up, and Soul Searching is so fucking well written. I go back to this one every few weeks and just gush at how great the world building is. I love the relationship Rey has with Leia and Han. It’s rich with love and angst and fluffffff. So good. 

Coveted by OptimisticBeth | 82k | E | WIP | OptimisticBeth is just an incredible writer, so you should honestly read all of her stuff, but I am so, so, so into this fic. It’s A/B/O and Ben’s Rey’s pack leader. He, along with a bunch of other Alphas are trying to court Rey, a highly desired Omega. It’s so fucking delicious, y’all. Alpha Ben Solo is just...it doesn’t get much better. 

A Treehouse Covered in Salt by violethoure666 | 34k | E | This fic made me cry my eyes out. I’m not kidding. It’s so raw and real. It hurts to read at some points, but you care so much about Ben and Rey in this that you fight through the pain. They grow up together as neighbors and Han builds them a treehouse where they meet throughout their childhoods/teen years. Prepare to cry but also be so fulfilled and satisfied. It’s wonderful. love it when you call me lover by @kylotrashforever​​ | 66k | E | WIP | First, let me say that anything by KTF is going to be gold. These fics I have listed are just a few of my favorites at the moment. Lover is hot as fuck (as is all of her stuff) but also fluffy in the best way. It’s in Sadsville right now so I’m fucking PUMPED for her to update. Ben’s a doctor who basically gives Rey a sexual awakening when he proves her statement of “I just don’t think I can come from (insert sexual act here)” very, very wrong.  

mountain at my gates by @kylotrashforever​ | 26k | E | More A/B/O goodness. Omega Rey’s car breaks down on a mountain. Ben is a mountain man Alpha. You can probably guess what happens from there. *fans self* 

take me to church by @kylotrashforever​ | 26k | E | I love this story so much. Ben is the pastor’s son at the church Rey grows up in. They start hooking up in secret and are terrrrrrible at communicating with each other which leads to angst. But it’s so sweet and soft while also being super hot. I love this Ben and Rey so much. 

Your Pretty Little Heart by @ever-so-reylo​ | 64k | E | The A/B/O Reylo bible, I feel like. They’re doctors and he’s a grumpy as fuck Alpha. Shenanigans ensue. And by shenanigans I mean a lot, a lot, a LOT of sex. 

The Food of Love by @lovesbitca8​ | 60k | E | Y’all. If you haven’t read this yet, please stop what you’re doing and read it RIGHT NOW. I ate this fic up in one sitting because holy SHIT it’s amazing. It’s so well written and the story is just... absolutely exquisite. Ben is cellist that’s also a famous rockstar and Rey’s an up and coming violinist and they fall in loOOoOOve in the best, most angsty, sexiest way. Please just read it right now. The scene when she firsts goes to his apartment and plays one of his cellos............you guys. It’s a lot.

Already Home by AttackoftheDarkCurses | 81k | E | This is soulmates + A/B/O so naturally I am obsessed with it. Rey gets connected with her soulmate via a website and he’s going by the name Kylo Ren. At the same time, she’s also moving in with grumpy librarian Ben Solo. She falls in love with both but has no idea that they’re the same person. It’s INCREDIBLE. 

Tangled but Unbroken by AttackoftheDarkCurses | 20k | M | I read this the other night and it’s so fucking soft. I am such a fucking sucker for growing up together fics and this is just such top quality. The braiding kills me every goddamn time. Also, I’m making my way through all of Attack’s works right now and they’re all incredible. Highly recommend. 

Dear Mr. President by @shmisolo​ | 89k | E | I love this Ben so much. The characterization is so on the money. The angst is absolutely delicious. The smut is top brass. Oh, and did I mention they’re soulmates? It’s everything you need, I promise. 

Good Day, Professor by @faequeentitania​ | 38k | E | One of the best Professor Solo fics out there. I’m such a sucker for age difference fics. Of course there’s angst, who do you think I am? 

Embers by sciosophia | 34k | E | Breaking up/getting back together fics are some of my favorites and this one is fantastic. The pining with these two is ridiculous. You just want to smush their faces together. It’s a beautiful love story. 

Reclaimed by @bettsfic​ | 14k | E | Ughhhhhhhhhh, Reclaimed. I am so in love with Reclaimed. Alpha Ben adopts Omega Rey after she’s rescued from this terrible Alpha that held her captive for most of her life. She doesn’t talk and Ben has to help her learn to be a human being and not just a subservient Omega. This Ben is the Ben of my dreams. No contest.

to kingdom come | 145k | M |  The sequel to Like Young Gods. I’m not gonna spoil much here, but just know I cried through most of this fic. I downright SOBBED at the end. It’s gorgeous and I will never stop rereading it. The love these two have for each other... it’s unreal. 

i kill giants  | 34k | E | WIP | The TROS fix-it we all need. Ben is alive and finds Rey on Tatooine. It’s soft and Thea does a great job of soothing so many of the gaping wounds we were left with after TROS. My heart soars every time I read a new chapter. This is what we deserved. :(

Confessions of a Rated-T Fanfic Writer

I have something I want to get off my chest as a relatively new member of the fanfiction community (specifically Star Wars and Reylo). At the end of this post, I have a list of my favorite reylo fics, so if you like, just skip to that.

When I started writing fanfiction after The Last Jedi, I wasn’t much of a reader. This article from the Atlantic introduced me to the world of fanfiction, and I gobbled up Forms and Interstellar Transmissions but quickly found reading others’ work made me self-conscious about my own. So, in the interest of preserving my confidence, I focused on writing.  

During this period, I noticed most of the Reylo fandom was interested in rated E or M fics. Explicit fics were the most popular on Ao3 with a significant difference in the amount of attention and praise given to them verses rated T works, and the more I noticed this, the more resentful I grew. It bugged me to know that so many readers would never give my story a shot simply because of its rating.

Then one day on a whim, I clicked on a fic by Kylotrashforevor and got sucked in HARD. I found refuge in AUs because they weren’t set in the Star Wars universe and didn’t make me second guess my own plot choices. It’s like the sky opened up, the sun came out, and suddenly, I understood. I no longer felt resentful of readers who exclusively searched for rated E fics because WHY THE HELL WOULDN’T THEY!? Rated E fics have the whole package— great story, great characters, AND the sexy stuff.

Almost overnight, I became the very reader I hated. I snorted rated E fics like cocaine while barely giving fics with other ratings a glance. I was ashamed of my hypocrisy, but this did little to stop me.

Then, I started noticing a strange pattern. There were several times when I’d start a fic, get really into the plot, but when I got to the smut parts, they were just ���so-so.” I glazed over the sex scenes but didn’t feel like I’d been robbed because I enjoyed the story so much the disappointing smut hardly mattered. That’s when it struck me…

Why am I only searching for E-rated fics when I’m clearly enjoying a lot more than that? If I can read an E-rated story and still love it despite so-so smut, why bother limiting myself?

So, I started opening my searches to all ratings and haven’t looked back since. I found rated G and T gems that I kicked myself for after reading because what if I’d never grown out of my stupid rated E exclusivity and missed them!?

So, if there’s a moral to the story, it’s this: You will greatly enhance your fanfiction reading experience if you put your biases aside and try a little of everything. I used to think most rated E fics were smutty trash heaps until I found Kylotrashforevor. I used to think AUs were weird, crossovers were nuts, and crack fics were just worthless. I was WRONG on all accounts. Trying new kinds of stories helped me better appreciate the breadth of talent and creativity in the reylo fandom, and I want to encourage others to do the same. 

So, if you usually read only E or M fics, try giving T and G stories a shot. I think you’ll be surprised by how little you miss the smut.  If you usually read T and under, let me assure you the explicit parts of many M and E fics are easily skipped. Don’t let a couple of sex scenes keep you from some of the best stories out there. Broaden your tastes, and I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Higher Ground by @kathknight and Seraphprotocol. Post TLJ fic with hands down THE BEST actions scenes I’ve read in a reylo story.

The Machine by @vespaer77. Post TLJ fic that explores the role of the military industrial complex in the Star Wars universe. Incomplete.

Darkness, Take my Hand by @kathyswizards. Post TLJ fic where the Raddus rams into the Supremacy before Rey can respond to Kylo’s offer to rule the galaxy.

Like Sands Though the Hourglass by @jeenonamit. Someone’s posting Reylo fanfiction to the First Order’s Intranet and Kylo IS NOT pleased.

Strike Me Down by Mericat_Blackwood. Post TFA fic where the spirit of deceased Han Solo is dead set on bringing his son back home. Incomplete.

When the Force Ships It Too by Neuvoreylogirl. Alternate TLJ plotline that pits Snoke and Luke against one another in a galactic Reylo soap opera. Snoke is the worst “cool dad” ever... 

Stand in the Sun Then by @the-reylo-void. A Galaxy’s Edge-inspired fic where Kylo notices a certain three-bunned hairstyle has become very popular on Batuu.

ALTERNATE UNIVERSE

First Order IT, Can I Get Your User ID? by krossartist/ @theeamazingem. Mechanic Rey likes her job except for when the computer screws up and she has to call her least favorite IT guy for help.

Fireflies by quixoticlux. ABO meets Mansfield Park meets Clueless when high school Rey can’t stop crushing on her cousin Ben. Incomplete.

Nine Lives by on_my_toes. Doctor Ben becomes increasingly concerned when he notices the barista at his favorite coffee shop has a habit of putting herself in harm’s way.

Stay Out of Trouble by Deathtoallstars. Cop Ben keeps arresting the same wily college kid who always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Incomplete.

Bleeding Edge by Succubusybody. Westworld meets Stepford Wives in a dark fic where Rey takes care of scientist Ben’s every need until she makes a shocking discovery.

Can’t Turn Off What Turns Me On by audreyii_fic. Omega Rey and Alpha Ben come together during her heat and an intense connection sparks.

Miles from Where You Are by Mooncactus. Rey and Kylo get into an online battle about Star Wars films.

Nevertheless, She Persisted by @dawninthemtn. Campaign staffer Rey is tasked with keeping an eye on her boss Leia Organa’s aloof son. Incomplete. 

Self-Inserted by @kylotrashforever. College student Rey happens upon journal belonging to Ben Solo, an old crush from high school she assumed hates her. As it turns out, he doesn’t…

I don't know if you already got four omega Kylo prompts, but here's one anyway: The reason why Kylo was so unhinged and unstable in TLJ was because he shortly before killed his previous alpha (Snoke), and just right before his heat started. So Hux has to jump in before Kylo runs amok completely. °v°

After Crait, Hux watches Kylo's descent into pure chaos.

It's painful to see. Kylo, self-proclaimed Supreme Leader of the First Order, looks as though death could claim him at any moment but simultaneously as though he's fighting off invisible reapers that seek to take him. Hux's alpha instincts scream at him to help the poor omega but his logical mind knows that that would only heighten Kylo's anger, making him think that the alpha is trying to tame him.

But Kylo's behaviour changes. He's much more volatile, lashing out at everyone and everything until he's forced to stop before he collapses, and his decisions for the Order are extraordinarily questionable. Hux knows that Kylo has a strong sense of military intelligence, strategy and general battle planning so his sudden and poor choices are worrying.

Only when Hux finds Kylo collapsed and unconscious outside of his chambers does the alpha catch the scent of heat.

"Dammit, Ren," Hux growls, frustrated at the omega's obvious reluctance to seek medical attention for his heat. "You stubborn fool."

As best as he can, he drags Kylo over the threshold of his chambers after overriding the code on the door, finding that Kylo's rooms smell just as enticing as he does right now, riddled with sweet omegan pheromones. Kylo moans when Hux lets go of him, rushing to the fresher to find a damp cloth to place on his feverish forehead.

"Hux..." Kylo's voice is weak, strained as though he's been screaming.

"I should just call medbay and ask them to sedate you," Hux says, brushing Kylo's hair from his forehead to bathe him with the cloth. "How long have you been feeling the effects of your heat?"

"Can't be a heat," Kylo says through gritted teeth. "Suppressants--"

"Medication isn't 100%, Ren. Believe me, your scent is telling me that you're in heat. I can smell your slick."

Kylo moans, sending shivers across Hux's skin that makes his knot throb. The omega's face is shining with sweat, his lips so plump already that Hux is imagining them around his cock. No, no, he has to control himself. Kylo is Supreme Leader, his rival: he couldn't possibly succumb to his needs.

"Let's get you over to your bed, hm?" Hux pulls the cloth away. "You'll be comfier there. Unless you have a nest somewhere?"

"No nest," Kylo says as he stands up on his trembling legs. "Not allowed."

"Not allowed? An omega has to nest, Ren, for their own peace of mind. Who says you can't?"

"Alpha."

"Which alpha?"

"Mine."

Hux frowns, watching as Kylo sits down on the edge of the bed, sighing as though it's a great relief. He begins undressing, taking his shirt off to reveal a fading claim mark on his pale neck.

"But you smell unmated, Ren. How can you have a claim mark but be--"

"Snoke," and with that one word, everything else falls into place in Hux's mind.

"Fucking hell, Ren. I can't believe I didn't see it before. Snoke was your alpha. He was bonded to you. That's why you've gone into heat despite being on suppressants. Your body wants another alpha."

Kylo merely whimpers in confirmation, turning his head away as though ashamed. Hux rubs his eyes, trying to comprehend the revelation. Finding Kylo unconscious after Snoke's death makes sense, then; the omega must have been overwhelmed at the feeling of the alpha's death, at their bond breaking.

"I killed him. Not Rey. I shouldn't have lied, Hux but he deserved it," Kylo mutters, still with his head turned away but Hux doesn't need to see his face to know that he's crying. "He knew I was an omega even though I hadn't told anyone. He used it to lure me to him, said he'd protect me from the voices in the dark but that was him. He got so deep inside my mind when I came to him that it triggered my heat and he--he bonded himself to me before I could stop it."

Hux's heart breaks. "Ren. I'm so sorry."

But Kylo keeps going, "He abused me. For years, Hux. Years. He wouldn't listen toe when I told him that he was barren, that I wasn't the infertile one, but he wouldn't listen. "Hush, Kylo, it's alright," Hux sits down on the edge of the bed next to Kylo and wraps him up in his arms, letting the omega cry onto him. "That evil alpha is dead, he can't touch you anymore. Never again, never."

When Kylo's arms slide around Hux and they become locked in a warm embrace, Hux can't resist placing a kiss atop the omega's head. He hums in his alpha-like voice, trying to soothe Kylo and settle him, and it eventually works but they stay huddled together on Kylo's bed until the omega's weeps cease and only the thrumming of the Finalizer's vents can be heard.

"Hux?"

"Hm?"

"Can you stay with me? Your scent...It's comforting."

"Of course, Ren. Perhaps we can build you a nest to help, too."

And as Hux takes a deep breath in, he finds that Kylo's heat-scent has eases a little, not as potent as it was before. Perhaps, he thinks as he lays Kylo down and settles beside him, that a knot isn't what this omega needs. It's love.

ReyLo Playlist Track 4: My I - Jun and The8 (seventeen)

AH HAHAHAHAHA (maniacal laughter) YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO ESCAPE THIS PLAYLIST WITHOUT K-POP, YOU THOUGHT WRONG!

Honestly though I usually don't use k-pop songs for shipping purposes. This is really unusual for me.

This right here is my unequivocal OVERALL REYLO anthem and really has been since 2017.

According to Jun (In the video, the blond boy in black with a face like a hawk) it's written from the perspective of two different versions of the same person.

The great thing about this song is you get twice as much as Reylo bang for your buck because there's two versions of this song. There's the Korean Version, and also one in Jun and Minghao's own native Chinese (Mandarin, I believe.) What I love about this is that this makes some very interesting little differences between the translations, which we will be examining in depth.

In the Chinese Version, I have Jun (Hawk boy) coded as Ben (Red Text) and Rey as The8 (the other boy, the squishy one) (Blue Text). In the Korean translation the coding is reversed. Chinese Version will always be on the left, Korean on the right.

How could you not already see Mirror Cave parallels here?

Once thing that sticks out to me here is how the wording "there's someone inside" also reminds me of how Rey talks about the Force in TLJ: "Something inside me has always been there..." Also the last two lines in the first verse here. In Chinese the last line, spoken by "Rey" is posed as a question. It's confusion and fascination rather like the expression we see on her face in TFA when she sees Ben's face for the first time.  In Korean, this line is Ben's and it is posed as an idea rather than a question. That this IS his other half and it's downright hopeful.

This pre-chorus represents the mutual pull they feel to be near each other and the respective difficulties and obstacles that prevent them from doing so. For Rey, this is first her self imposed isolation and then her dedication to her friends. For Ben it is his mentor and the fact that he views his past and his family as something he can never be forgiven for or go back to.  Three second line shows another one of those little differences I talked about. In Chinese (Rey's line) she urges him to reach through those obstacles and focus on her. Simultaneously, the Korean(Ben's line) shows him receiving that encouragement and seeing her reaching out to him. GUYS.

Now we will move on to the second verse here,  as I want to end on the chorus.

This backtracks the timeline a little (but no one said this had to be linear - that's not how art works). Here we see a mutual feeling of stagnation and confusion. Ben feels trapped and used, while Rey is trapped and feels small and helpless since she is too afraid to go and actively seek her parents or a further Destiny for herself.  She stays where she is because that's what's familiar and familiar is safe, but she's really not satisfied with that future for herself "stuck in lonely sadness."

Which brings us to the chorus and the parting in TLJ. When it came out this caused a lot of contention in interpretation between Reylos and, well NOT Reylos. The latter believed that any mutual affection between them was gone forever. That Ben hated Rey and that Rey closed off the connection to Ben (as if that would even be possible.) The former group however saw this for what it was: the inevitable result of the  Botched Proposal TM. Familiar to all aficionados of Classic Romance,  the hero makes a half-baked proposal to the heroine in a poorly worded fashion or at an inopportune moment and the result is v usually a catastrophic row followed by an almost immediate period of pining or introspection. Though the damage done can't be easily brushed off and requires a (usually year long) separation or growth period.  Hmm.

In the Chinese Version, the purple section represents Rey's inner monologue in their last ForceTime session in the TLJ. That sad, hard but compassionate expression we see on her face as she closes the door of the Falcon. She knows that she must let him go for now, but that this is not the end for them. They will meet again. They are each other's Alpha and Omega and when they are reunited they indeed will never have to be lonely again. In Korean the purple section represents his eventual acceptance that when they meet again he will understand that by leaving him when she did she protected him by not satisfying a selfish wish though she desired him. 

Phew, that was a lot to sort through but well worth it. And I have to say this works twice as well when you watch Jun and The8's beautiful synchronicity in their execution of their choreography. What a pair. Let's give them a round of applause.

One day, he's sent on a mission alone with Shen Qingqiu a few months after Luo Binghe was shoved into the Abyss.

ABO verse 2/12 LQG tries to ignore the attraction he has to SQQ (with SQQ being a omega as well) but his heat suppressant starts to fail part-way through the mission when they're unable to head back to Cang Qiong. SQQ realizes the signifigance of the heat suppressant failing and offers to help LQG through his heat, uncertain on his own feelings towards his shidi but not willing to leave him to suffer. LQG accepts, flushed and embarrassed but the need of having SQQ inside of him winning out.            

ABO verse 3/12 SQQ starts gently undressing LQG, with LQG being a mess at being touched by SQQ, his heart racing in feeling the gentle, strong hands strip off his clothes. SQQ fucks him, whispering soothing praises while LQG sobs and moans, his heat luring him into wantonly fucking himself on SQQ's thick, warm cock. After the heat ends, the two resume the mission, both of them afraid to enter a relationship. Only to discover that despite LQG using a contraceptive, LQG was pregnant.           

ABO verse 4/12 SQQ and LQG admit what happened to YGY and MQF, both of the other peak lords stunned but accepting it even if SQQ and LQG still didn't enter into a relationship. LQG has their child safely, a adorable girl with SQQ's face and LQG's eyes. The other peak lords dote on her, YQY spoiling her while LQG and SQQ co-parent, the girl spending most of her time on Qing Jing peak. SQQ fusses over his daughter lovingly, LQG being a bit stiffer but loving her dearly.            

ABO verse 5/12 The three years pass rapidly, SQQ still making the preparations with the Sun and Moon Dew Flower seed, guilty at the thought of leaving LQG to raise their daughter by himself but feeling like it was safer for her. The mess in the city with the sowers happens as it did before, LBH realizing that SQQ was a omega but unable to do anything before SQQ self-destructed, LQG left shaken up even if he and SQQ had never exchanged mating bites.     

  ABO verse 6/12 He fought for SQQ's body desperately, trying to comfort their daughter but always losing to LBH. One day, LQG had taken his daughter out to a festival, LBH happening to be there and going to taunt LQG only to see the peak lord with a tender, gentle look he'd never seen before. And noticing the little girl before him had SQQ's face, LBH storming over in knowing that SQQ hadn't had a mating mark but also unaware that he had a child, angry at LQG raising his shizun's child.            

ABO verse 7/12 LQG stiffens up when LBH comes, the girl greeting LBH with a cute smile, LBH freezing in seeing LQG's eyes looking at him from SQQ's child. LBH leaves afterwards, waiting until the next time LQG comes for SQQ's corpse to ask, LQG snapping out the story angrily, LBH ripping off LQG's robes to check his neck, startled at LQG being a omega. The pair argue, LQG demanding SQQ's body while LBH snarls that he only had SQQ's body because he was going to revive SQQ with the Holy Mausoleum.             

ABO verse 8/12 LQG freezes, stunned by the admission. He hesitates before offering his help, wanting SQQ back even if he had to work with LBH. LBH could tell that LQG was in love with SQQ, but since they never married despite their daughter he decides to work with LQG. They spent over a year, LQG trying to help stealthily. When SQH is outed, LQG helps him get to the Huan Hua Palace, still unhappy with him but not holding it against him given what he was doing.

ABO verse 9/12 Over time, he and LBH become close, LQG allowing LBH to interact with his child. One day, while they were working together LQG's heat suppressant failed, much to LQG's shock. He warns LBH about it, LBH surprised but drags LQG to a safe place. LQG winds up begging LBH to help him through his heat, LBH hesitating before agreeing. LBH and LQG spend the heat together, LQG realizing that getting to know LBH had developed his feelings towards LBH almost as strong as the ones for SQQ.

ABO verse 10/12 LQG admits it to LBH, conflicted but LBH accepts it, still loving SQQ but caring for LQG. LQG discovers he's pregnant a short time later, refusing to talk about it with the other peak lords but going to LBH to tell him, LBH accepting it. LQG has their child, a son with LQG's face but LBH's eyes and stubborn hair. Several more years pass, LQG often sneaking both of his children out to visit LBH, LBH doting on both of them and cooking LQG meals. The two are basically dating by then            

ABO verse 11/12 SQQ comes back, causing mass panic and havoc. He's stunned to discover that LBH and LQG are in a relationship and have a child together. LQG and LBH explain the plans to him, both of them furious with SQH for not telling them. SQQ finds out that LBH was in love with him, LQG helping facilitate things. TLJ and ZZL still steal his body and revives him, LQG and LBH both going to save SQQ while leaving their children with MBJ and SQH. They get SQQ back, TLJ still stealing Xin Mo.     

  ABO verse 12/12 The situation ends with Xin Mo still possessing LBH, while the scenario pusher triggering both a cave-in and SQQ's heat, LBH and SQQ having sex. LQG still fishes them out but isn't angry with LBH, taking them both back for medical attention, TLJ and ZZL both alive. In the end, LBH, SQQ, and LQG wind up in a poly relationship, SQQ having fallen pregnant due to the cave papapa and having his and LBH's child, another cute boy with LBH's face and SQQ's eyes.

The Echoes They Left Behind - This originally published in the Reylo Charity Anthology so I’m counting it for 2018. Rated E. 7 chapters. WIP. In present day Takodana, upstate New York, Rey Johnson is the caretaker of the abandoned Takodana Sanatorium, a facility that used to be an asylum for the criminally insane as well as a tuberculosis ward during the epidemic. Ben Solo has been sent by First Order publications to do an article on the old asylum before it is torn down. In that same sanatorium, in the 1940s, Kira Kenobi is an idealistic nurse whose world is upended by the arrival of the dark, mysterious patient Kylo Ren. As the past and the present collide, can Rey find out the secrets the spirits of the asylum want her to know before the wrecking ball destroys it all?

The Stairwell - Rated M. One-shot. Ben Solo has worked with Rey Johnson for the past two years. And he's been in love with her the whole time. He just needs to work up the courage to tell her... unless she beats him to it.

All At Once - Rated E. One-shot. Canonverse. The First Order has taken over the planet Neftali in the Soccoro system. Every year, the town of Cordel Cove hosts a winter carnival that culminates in a masquerade ball. The presence of one Supreme Leader has been requested. The Resistance has come to Neftali to strike a deal with a shady organization, using the carnival as a distraction. They send Rey to the masquerade to keep an eye on things. After one too many drinks, the masked man all in black catches her eye and asks for a dance. But what will happen when the masks come off?

A Fantastic Assignment. Rated E. Projected 4 chapters. WIP. Fresh off a win from the passing of Dobby's Law, Hermione Granger is given a new assignment for her job in the Department for the Regulation and Care of Magical Creatures: track down a missing selkie that has been kidnapped from the care of Rolf Scamander. When reports of the selkie being taken to New York City show up, the ministry assigns an Auror to accompany her to the US: Draco Malfoy. Can the two of them work together in order to capture the thief and bring the selkie safely back to Britain?

Look, most of my love and interest in Star Wars is set firmly in the Legends umbrella (I mean, my favorite characters off the top of my head: Revan, Darth Zannah, Etain Tur Mukan, both Omega and Delta squads). Review: This has Tudor vibes - it is unreal. I love history, so naturally historically AUs are right up my ally. I was quite impressed by the setup and dynamic. The author uses Star Wars terms in place for the historical ones. This doesn’t follow the Tudor chain of events, but veers in it’s own original direction. Ben and Rey for this interesting relationship and it is quite troubled because Rey is actually married to Ben’s father ::gasp::. Love this fiction. So beautifully heartbreaking! (complete)

Review: This story was so heartbreaking, but so good. A mix of pining, angst, drama and uncertainty. This story I read nonstop and was quite heart broken, but these two stubborn people just need a little extra time in order to figure out they were meant for one another. This story had me sighing and talking aloud with frustration! So well-written! (Complete)

The chemistry is unmistakable and the lemons are to die for. Unfortunately, this is one minor thing that has a draw back, and both character experience a major revelation that hurts them both. Review: Love this story! I flew through it. Very well-written! Ben has to do community service as punishment and meets little Rey on Jakku. This really is different than anything I have experienced. I usually don’t go for stuff like this, but there is enough angst and romance to fill my needs. LOVE it!

Love the way this dynamic is set up. There are so many intriguing questions-- you are left wanting more. So bitter sweet it isn’t complete! It really is something I haven’t seen done before. Really hope that it is completed someday! So much potential! I cannot wait to see what becomes of this new found family knit that develops on a whim, no thanks for Rey’s surprise daughter! ;)

No, this really has amazing storyline that has you asking questions or attempting to figure out the author’s train of thought. Gosh, there are so many good things to say about this fic! Ben is absolutely a dream in this fiction too. I cannot even begin to describe because I just wouldn’t do it justice. This fiction killed me in a good way! (Incomplete)

Review: This fiction was different and reeled me in because Ben was different. In this fiction he has mental disorder that makes it difficult to form relationships. Though, Rey takes to him and Ben to her in the sweetest of ways! I really liked the development in this story. The author delivers fluffy feels too. I am not usually one that enjoys a ton of fluff, but they did right by it! (Complete)

This is an arranged marriage fiction, but even so there is so much going on in the world she so wonderfully weaved as well as the character interactions. Author has an extremely fantastic beginning where she pulls you in. It is seen through the eyes of their son! So good! Recommend! Please be warned, however, there is non-con and violence! You know what's always good to come back to? Crying about STAR WARS fic because, honestly, there's a lot to cry about. From ongoing fics that keep me glued to them to fic dealing with Rebels' finale (and the feelings I need to process via fic) to post-The Last Jedi pieces that are exactly what I needed to character pieces for Leia to time travel fics that I'm clawing for more of to alternate universes where things are entirely different or echo canon in heartbreaking and/or hilarious ways to Force Ghosts, STAR WARS FIC IS THE BEST.

✦ Luminous being by stonefreeak, obi-wan, 1k     Ever since he first drew breath, the Force has been with Obi-Wan Kenobi.    This is a lovely, sort of ethereal piece, that's about Obi-Wan and the Force, so there's this sort of hazy quality to it that really works for space wizard woo-woo stuff. It's beautifully written, there's just something kind of spiritual or bright about it, with some really lovely imagery and makes me fall in love with Obi-Wan Kenobi all over again. ✦ Drive It Like You Stole It by victoria_p (musesfool), han/leia, 1.2k     Sometimes she feels like she's nothing but wanting, and these stolen hours with Han are the only thing that satisfy her.    This was a lovely look at Leia's character, that's sort of about the sex scene (which had a really lovely style to it as well! it was just pretty to read) and sort of about her relationship with Han and all around a piece about who Leia Organa is. She's complicated and messy and I love her, which this fic really hit on nicely. ✦ Squad Goals by igrockspock, leia & poe & rey & rose & finn & connix, 11k     The surviving members of the Resistance decide the best way to help Leia is to take her on a recruiting mission to Rose's home world.    This is the post-TLJ fic I didn't know I needed until I read it and it was just exactly what I wanted! It's half character-driven piece and half sort of plot-based fic, where the Resistance is picking itself back up, there's all these great little character moments, and it does some nice background worldbuliding bits and pieces. I love that it's not just about Poe (though, he's definitely a central character and he's great here, this is the Poe-needs-something-to-do fic I've been craving, too), that there's these really great moments with Leia and Rey, where Rey wants to know more about the Force and Leia's complicated relationship with it (especially after Luke's death) is difficult, and it just hit all the right notes. And then there's Poe and Leia's relationship, which is perfect for how they don't bullshit each other, but there's such care and affection there. And then Connix gets some very nice life breathed into her! And Rose and Finn and Rey get these really lovely moments! Basically, it's just a really solid, super engaing, super fun post-TLJ read that I enjoyed a ton. ✦ One Last Goodbye by glompcat, obi-wan & anakin & ahsoka, ~1k     A missing moment between Ahsoka and everyone's favorite Force Ghosts during the finale.    This was a lovely piece set during the Rebels epilogue, with Ahsoka having a moment with Obi-Wan and Anakin as Force Spirits, getting a bit of closure with them and it works so well. It's not long, but it's exactly what was needed and fits perfectly in with the story and gave me all the feelings it set out to do. Lovely and just the right amounts of bittersweet and good. ✦ Equinox by lilyconrad, obi-wan/anakin, NSFW, sith!obi-wan, some d/s, 76.8k wip     During the Clone Wars, Obi-Wan and Anakin crash on a remote planet and take shelter in the ruins of a grand estate only to find they are not alone.     Chapter 16: This is an update rec and will focus on this chapter, rather than the fic as a whole. This was an important chapter, because it was an emotional culmination in things that had been building, both since the beginning of the fic and in the latest chapters again--Obi-Wan and Anakin are about to be separated and there's a whole lot that's been stirred up in Anakin because of this. Some of it is just regular separation anxiety, now that they're in a relationship (but one that's so new and untested in Anakin's mind), being apart lends to his fears about what's going to happen, how he'll cope, if they'll come back to this when they see each other again, worry about what the Sith versions of them will get up to, all wrapped up in seeing his "twin" be so much more settled about it and that just digs under Anakin's skin, the way it has since the very first scene they showed up in. This is why Anakin staring at the ring of bruises Isten wears with pride is so telling--because, as much as he struggles against the idea, something in Anakin is still pulled towards that, pulled towards why the separation doesn't bother Isten in the same way, when it should . This is why the tone of voice Obi-Wan uses when Anakin spins out of control is important, because it's tied into the things underneath what they've said, the things that the Sith versions are echoes of, that it's not coming from nowhere, that while they're not the same people, the Sith versions are something born from what the originals want.     And I love all of it! I love that Anakin's anxiety is not so easily solved, that Obi-Wan doesn't enjoy this, but neither does he despair of it, because he's sort of used to Anakin's outbursts by now, because he cares so deeply about Anakin that he feels it with him every time. I loved that I could feel it building and building in Anakin, even with all the reassurances, because he really is like a bucket with a hole in the bottom--you can fill him up with love and reassurance, but it still drains out of him anyway. And I love that it's set off by the teeth-grindingly annoying (to him) same argument that Veris and Obi-Wan keep having, like, yes, I can just see Anakin being set off by something like that, because it's aggravating to him, because it shows that Obi-Wan's so invested in something that doesn't matter when Anakin himself is spinning out of control (never mind that different people handle things in different ways) and watching Isten seemingly not be so bothered by all of this, that Anakin's jealousy and anxiety and frustration and fear all just boil over the top in the way you can see coming a mile off, but totally get why no one else does, it really was beautifully done. And I love so much that it's been over 75k of story, that they've had plenty of time to be in this relationship, and yet it's still something to work on, Anakin's still working through these things, because they do take time, and it feels very natural and organic to the way he would keep exploding.     And, of course, I continue to love the structure, that there's a very deliberate reflection/inversion between these chraacters. It's highlighted with the bondage elements, that Isten enjoys it because it quiets his mind, that Anakin gravitates towards it because he desperately wants the same even when he has no idea how to admit to it until he has to drag it out of himself, but it's also in the little details, the way Anakin and Isten both curl into Obi-Wan or Veris, that they are so bright and brilliant and strong in the Force, that they're headstrong and stubborn and you don't want anyone else in a fight next to you, because they are powerful warriors, but there's something so vulnerable underneath that in both of them. They both storm off when upset. They both have trouble handling separation. They both have too much anxiety and noise in their head. Even the things they are the opposite in only further evidence it--the way Isten is comfortable with Veris in the depths of him versus the way Anakin slams his mind shut so Obi-Wan won't see the depths of him. The way Isten lets Veris see his naked mechanical hand, but Anakin still hides it, even when they're naked and wound together. This all further shows us what Anakin (and Obi-Wan) wants but can't admit yet, and that's why the bruises that Anakin sees are the culmination of it, why he wants Obi-Wan to do that. There's always been a pull that's inherent in him, but it's been catalyzed by seeing what Veris and Isten have.      Of course, I also love the other details put into the story--the intensity of the final scene of this chapter with Obi-Wan and Anakin was incredible , it was off the charts and they didn't even so much as kiss, they just barely touched each other and promised more later that night! Not even any dirty talk! Or lines like, he briefly marveled at the depth of his own love for Anakin, a love so strong it could live on in the heart of a man formed wholly from the dark illustrating just how much Obi-Wan loves him and how it shows that, while Veris may be abrasive to them, there's still Obi-Wan in there. And there's still the mystery of Ugly and whatever happened to the original owner THAT I HAVE NO IDEA ON, but will probably wind up being, "Yes, I should have thought of that, it makes total sense, even as I'm surprised by it." just like everything else in this fic. Ugh, so good and I don't want to end but also I want to know the ending! And, oh, I love this one already, the first chapter was a banger of an opener, there's such a sharpness to the way they interacted, that Lily is so good at writing something I can see coming from a mile off, but not the how of it, that I'm still surprised by the details and impact of it--and especially Ben's reaction to how he dealt with Anakin's introduction here. It's a sharp, clever twist of words, as well as the whole entire chapter hits this really great iddy place for me, where Anakin Skywalker is such an absolute, utter brat that it's delicious to contrast him against the more reserved, in control Ben. It hits that place in me that wants some dirty things, but also is content with just exactly how it's unfolding here, that it's not necessarily about sexy times, but just about the push-and-pull of these two characters. Which continues on into the second chapter as well, with Anakin continuing to be such a little shit, much to Ben's patience that we will see just how long it lasts (which is part of the fun).     I love that it's an AU setting, but the characters fit it so well (the use of C-3PO and R2-D2 were really great, I loved those little details) and the backgrounds and really rich, almost decadent setting I can so easily imagine for the story, all of that's great. But the writing still gets that I'm here for these characters and their relationship, the echoes of who they are in canon as put to this universe, so it's like, well, of course Ben would still be his teacher and Anakin would be way too cocky and probably vulnerable underneath that, of course sparks would fly, in that way that they aggravate each other, but that there's a chemistry there, a pull that can't be denied. I love this fic a lot already and I'm delighted to see where it goes! ✦ Never, Not Once by victoria_p (musesfool), obi-wan/anakin, ~1k     The one person Obi-Wan's never been able to lie to successfully is himself.     This is a beautiful, aching piece about the something there between these two and so often it's easy to focus on Anakin's feelings on these things because his feelings are so very, very loud, but this one really hit me in the feelings place for Obi-Wan, that he's doing what he truly believes is best, for both himself and for Anakin, for their greater purpose he's making this choice, but it's not like it's easy on him or that he does it without care. Because Obi-Wan fell for him.     Chapters 1-16: I know this fic has updated since I caught up on it/am writing this rec, so I'm basing it on these chapters, rather than the entire fic! But it was over 50k at the time and I really got sucked into it, it's just a lot of fun! What helped is that the Jedi hate is milder than I expected so I didn't have to bail on it and it just whole-heartedly embraces the Soft Sith dynamic that I love so much and is popular with Obi-Wan for a reason, as well as there's a plot running around through the fic! For those that are like me, there is some Jedi hate going on with the fic, but it's (at least as far as I've read in these chapters?) mostly contained to one scene and it's set from Anakin's point of view, so I can roll with it, especially when I get some really lovely slow burn fic and mutual pining and long-distance Force bonds between Obi-Wan and Anakin, that creeping ever more towards the two of them just being totally wrapped up in each other, because that is absolutely the stuff that sends a thrill through me when reading it in the right author's hands.     And one of the best things about the fic is how much it focuses on these characters, their feelings and what Obi-Wan is doing in the rest of the galaxy, that there's plotful stuff like him meeting with Senator Amidala and there's almost an assassination attempt, that Dooku is involved while Obi-Wan uses him to gain knowledge, and it's just really engaging and fun to read all that stuff! I tore through 50k+ in a couple of days, just happy to keep reading about these two idiots in love and the long-distance Force skyping sessions, the occasional meet-ups (Anakin insisting that he can bring his Master back, getting his ass kicked and sprawled out on the floor while Sith!Obi-Wan looks him over, the brief thoughts of how much Obi-Wan wants to touch him, just not yet, the super fun bit about Obi-Wan taking over the clones with Sith magic stuff, like, yesssss, gimme all the stuff that builds these things up, that things are building towards something bigger, I love that!) and just a whole lot of pining that's all the more delicious for how I know they'll eventually meet and hopefully Obi-Wan will bang all that noise right out of Anakin's head. ✦ In Time by Ripki, obi-wan & anakin & cast, time travel, 14.3k wip     (Or the Force, frustrated and tired with all their bullshit, sends the Team to an unconventional couple’s therapy.)     Chapters 2-6: I could have sworn I'd done recs for these chapters before, but I must not have and only thought I did because I kept mentally chanting, "Wait until there's more than one chapter to write a rec, self!" mostly 'cause I just sort of want to keyboard smash about how much I'm enjoying this fic. It's just right up my alley, where Obi-Wan and Anakin are shot through time to various moments in their pasts, ones that they don't talk about but are being used to help illustrate to each other just how much they've both been through, to help them with a greater understanding. Because of this, I'm willing to roll with the non-canon stuff (despite my usual frustration with trying to marry JA stuff to TCW stuff that it's not compatible with) because it's so good and every single chapter has that OH YESSSS GIMME THE GOOD STUFF reveals that just keep happening . The author is good enough to put off the aftermath of the reveals, that there are only pieces getting shown right now before they're pulled off to yet another point in time, that I still feel excited to get to the next one and the next one and the next one, because I trust that the conversations will happen eventually. And, in the meantime, I get to enjoy things like Obi-Wan interacting with bb!Anakin or Old Ben interacting with Anakin or Anakin absolutely losing his shit because of what he's coming to understand about their future, all of it wrapped up in the time travel stuff that hits right straight on my id. Obi-Wan and the dark and falling in love with Anakin, that the only way he might ever fall would be because of his love for someone else, someone that defined his life, fall for them, not because of them. Like, it clearly hits all these iddy buttons that I love , with the h/c and the characterization, how much Obi-Wan means to Anakin and vice versa, but it's also genuinely well-written and sharp and lovely to read. ✦ And If Your Glass Heart Should Crack by victoria_p (musesfool), leia, ~1k     Sometimes, Leia feels as if she's spent her whole life grieving.    Another heartbreaking Leia piece that's just the right amount of grief, heartache, reslience, and hope. It's solid and good and gets what I wanted to read here, that it's Anakin waking up from his trance and realizing what he's done and curling up against Obi-Wan because he's sorry and in need of comfort, that Obi-Wan is so gentle and careful with him, despite his own strength, because this is the one he loves, and Ahsoka being adorable and a happy ending! It's not a long chapter, just about 1.6k total, but it reminds me of why I really enjoy this fic, that it just goes straight for embracing the alpha/omega tropes and how protective Obi-Wan is of Anakin, who has been through hell and back, that this is a quiet moment in the story, half about Obi-Wan talking to Ahsoka, half about the first quiet real moment he manages to have with Anakin, how it indicates that there's so much work to be done on the horizon, especially because Anakin's tendencies towards jealousy and mistrust and anxiety are going to be dialed up to eleven, in a universe where he's so much more adrift. And I'm rubbing my hands in glee to get to allllll of that delicious angst and trying to work through shit, all while their biology is screaming at them. That it'll (hopefully?) go full-tilt on the possessiveness they have for each other, that there's already been marking bruises where Obi-Wan bit him and claimed him, like, yes, feed me this always, thank you. ✦ Tooka Trouble by DonkerRood, obi-wan/anakin & mace, 1.4k     Obi-Wan and Anakin have been turned into adorable tooka kittens by the Force. What now?    This was a very cute piece, just happily cracky and fluffy, as Obi-Wan and Anakin are turned into tooka cats and their instincts to cuddle take over. Cute! ✦ Run by Selcier, obi-wan/anakin, modern au, human au, 1.1k     Sometimes, his morning run isn't enough to clear his mind.    This was a really gentle, quiet sort of slice of life piece that was just kind of soft and soothing, just a moment in time that didn't need to be more or less than it was, just a piece of a bigger world that doesn't need to be more than this nice glimpse into it! And it was really nice to read for that. ✦ 'Destiny' Is Another Word for 'Coincidence' by ambiguously , ezra/leia (sort of) & sabine(/leia background) & cast, 8.4k     Ezra asks Leia out on a date. This is a terrible idea.    It's pretty much exactly what it says on the tin and yet it's much more than that at the same time, it's a really fun look at the time in their lives when these kids are teenagers and Rebels, that they're sort of dancing around each other and trying to figure themselves out and I enjoyed it for the awkwardness of Ezra and Leia trying out a date just as much as I enjoyed it for them not really having the right spark and being interesting not-quite-friends-but-something-like-it. The details are filled in nicely, there's such a smoothness to the story, there's something so good about both of these kids, they're both really trying and are both people I really love and even when they clash it's not because one of them is being super awful to the other, they're just different and trying to connect. They come from such different worlds and the fic shows that in a really cool way and what seems like it could have been a "lol throw two characters together just because!" is actually a very nicely done character piece for both Ezra and Leia. ✦ An (Un)fortunate Haunting by Kooriicolada (WHM_Koorii), scarletjedi, obi-wan & anakin/padme, time travel, force ghost, 3.5k     “I refuse to listen to hallucinations.” “I AM NOT A HALLUCINATION!”     This was a fic that was very well balanced between being utter crack and really sharp, somewhere in the vicinity of crack-treated-seriously, and that made it an absolute scream to read! The pacing and the timing of it are really sharply done, there's a ton of moments that made me smile or outright laugh, there's so much WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS from Anakin to pretty much everyone he's traveled back in time to meet with and try to talk to, most especially his past self. And I love the dynamic between Obi-Wan and Anakin especially, there's something that's just so incredibly fond underneath the banter and the frustration and the "why are you like this??" and the messing with each other, there was something so warm-hearted and just really, really fun about this piece, I cannot express my delight at that enough. Sharp and fun! My favorite things. ✦ A Fool's Game by Eirian Erisdar, obi-wan & anakin (background anakin/padme and obi-wan/satine), 1.6k     During the Clone Wars, Anakin and Obi-Wan find themselves trapped in a downed LAAT/i with only conversation to keep them from succumbing to their injuries. As they await rescue, what starts as a fool's game turns to startling revelations.    I'm a sucker for this set-up, with two characters who have a complicated and deeply caring relationship stuck in a place, with a nice dash of whump for both of them to help nudge them into needing a distraction and also because Anakin Skywalker's brain kind of starts gibbering with fear, and this was a fun one. Playing "the dumbest thing I've ever done", that they both have a sense of humor about themselves and it eventually leads to difficult conversations that they're too loopy for and it was the right amounts of light and heartbreaking. ✦ untitled by legobiwan, yoda & dooku & qui-gon, 1.5k     Yan Dooku was getting too old for this type of thing. He had rushed into the healer’s ward, Qui-gon’s limp body in his arms. That in itself had been a feat, as the boy’s gangly limbs were everywhere, but somehow the older Jedi Master had been able to deposit his wayward Padawan on a bed before an errant arm took his nose off.    Do you know what is my favorite thing? When something just fills my heart with warmth and glee to read it! I loved the use of this prompt to make something really adorable and absolutely joyful, I loved that Qui-Gon's just high as fuck because of a medication, that Dooku is suffering beyond belief at this nonsense, and Yoda's just amused by the whole thing. It gives me my lineage feelings in spades, but also I just chuckled at everything Qui-Gon said and imagining Dooku's face throughout it and even had Yoda feelings about how fond he is of his lineage. I could totally see this having actually happened and it's just pure fun ✦ Twin Hearts of Kyber by JadeLotus (Lotusflower85), obi-wan & luke & leia, 5.4k wip     Following the Battle of Scarif, Leia is able to evade the Empire and visits Obi-Wan on Tatooine to make her father's request in person.    When I read this, I thought it was a single chaptered fic and it worked really well as an interesting oneshot where things go differently, because Leia makes it to Tatooine to meet with Obi-Wan. It's set from her point of view, so there's a lot she doesn't understand or gets wrong (about Obi-Wan's purpose here, about what the Jedi were actually like rather than fanon/propaganda about them, etc.) and I really enjoyed just how impatient she was. Not without good reason, I can't blame her, but the stark contrast between her and Obi-Wan, who seems unhurried and without care unless you actually know him, and the importance of just what else he has to bring with them, all of that has a really fun tension and it's a good look through Leia's eyes and is a fun divergent timeline fic. ✦ Lessons Learned by swhurtcomfort, obi-wan & anakin & ahsoka, 1.6k     The first time Ahsoka wakes, someone is there. There is a gentle hand resting on top of hers and a soft voice conversing quietly with the medical droid. Master Obi-Wan, she realizes. He doesn’t seem to notice that she’s awake. She doesn’t know where she is, but she is too sleepy to find out.    Oh, I love that the mods of this account know exactly what h/c hits my iddy buttons, that there's all this delicious hurt, but there's also the comfort, so it's really in balance and this one was great . Ahsoka is hurt, but not as hurt as Anakin is, and she blames herself and Obi-Wan is struggling to stay calm because Anakin being really hurt is the one thing that knocks him for a real loop, so everyone is human and hurting (it's terrible that I enjoyed so much that Obi-Wan was unbalanced by this, how he's not cruel, but he's not calm about things, either, because he's human and he cares so deeply about Anakin, that the fic doesn't have to tell us this, it shows us this, and does it in a way that's not mean-spirited, but instead true to the characters, that he's still Obi-Wan and still gentle and kind at heart, that he still works to put Anakin and Ahsoka's relationship back together, because he cares about her so much as well, and, oh, Ahsoka is so upset at what happened and Luminara and Barriss are looking out for her, then the wonderful Anakin and Ahsoka scenes--!) and I'd have read at least 50k of this fic and come back for more. ✦ untitled part 1 + part 2 by swhurtcomfort, obi-wan & anakin & rex & helix & fives & cast, 3.1k     “M’okay,” Anakin tried to shout, but it came out weaker than he’d intended. He drew in a ragged breath and tried again.    I think I may have recommended this fic before, but I can't remember if I did both parts and I read it all over again recently and wanted to recommend it (again?) because I love how much the mods of this account get what I love about h/c, that the hurt's a lot of fun, but it's at its most satisfying when it's also about the comfort. That there's a good chunk of time spent on Anakin whump, how much pain he's in when he's at the bottom of a ravine, but I wouldn't have enjoyed it half as much without all the time Obi-Wan spends worrying over him, staying with him and obviously caring about him deeply. That it packs the emotional punch to go with the lovely writing all the way around, is what makes me wish I could read a 100k fic from these authors, because they're so sharp , but also so balanced. Like, read this with me: He brushed Anakin’s hair away from his face and Anakin looked so relaxed that he continued the motion, stroking the former padawan’s hair. It reminded him of how readily Anakin had melted into his arms as a young boy, and how easy it had been to soothe him with gentle cuddles. A small part of Obi-Wan missed those days. I am MELTING over here, you guys! I'm just rolling around in feelings because of this. ✦ Specter by Okadiah, kanan & jacen, ~1k     Kanan may have died, and yeah -- he didn't have a body anymore. But that didn't mean he wasn't around in the one way that still mattered.    Listen. Listen. Who cares if Kanan couldn't have become an actual Force Ghost, WHO CARES, I WANT FORCE GHOST DAD KANAN. And this fic whole-heartedly embraces that and, oh, it got me in the feelings place with Kanan watching over baby Jacen, being there for him however he could and just. Feelings! Everywhere! It's a short and lovely piece, just the right amounts of bittersweet and hopeful for what I wanted. ✦ Strategy! by imaginary_golux, obi-wan & anakin & luke & leia & ben & snoke & cast, ~1k     The Force ghost of Anakin Skywalker has some very strong feelings about Snoke trying to groom himself a new Darth Vader, using Anakin's only grandson no less.     This was a cute, totally cracky little short fic that was just fun to read, because who doesn't want to cackle at the image of Anakin just losing his shit over an evil villain preying on his grandson and just going Full Skywalker about it? Hilarious and id-pleasing fun! ✦ untitled Supreme Chancellor Kenobi fic by stonefreeak, palpatine, 2.5k     The alley is dark and secluded, far down in the bowels of Coruscant’s lower districts. It’s the perfect meeting place for something like this—two people, neither of whom wishes to be recognised, conducting a less-than-legal business transaction.    Do you know what I used to really hate? Anything to do with Palpatine. It's over time that I've come to appreciate him as a genuinely brilliant villain and someone who is gleefully over the top and having the time of his life and/or being hilariously thwarted, all of which this fic gives me in exactly the way I want.  He's such a deliciously, screamingly evil character that he's so much fun to read about, that he plots and plans and manipulates and betrays and backstabs people! And I love how he has so many plans here and it's just really good at capturing that cackling villain (even while I do take him seriously, which is not an easy balance to maintain) as he interacts with an OC he hired to kill Obi-Wan Kenobi. So much fun! ✦ The Joy of Nescience by ambiguously, kanan & depa & rex(/ahsoka), 2.1k     Three times Kanan Jarrus did not want to know.    This one got my attention for the Kanan and Depa opening scene and that was probably still my favorite (I love bb!Caleb so much ) but the whole fic is one big "Kanan doesn't want to know any more than he already does" and it's this great little connection to how inquisitive Caleb used to be, all those questions he had bubbling up inside him, contrasted against how HE DOES NOT WANT TO KNOW SOME THINGS, and the two tie nicely together. It's sharp and cute and funny and has some great little details and gave me back Kanan feelings all over again. ✦ untitled by legobiwan, obi-wan & anakin & ahsoka & rex & cast, ~1k     Ahsoka and Rex only hear the commotion on the other side of the room, but they exchange a look.    This was a cute and funny story about how you know Anakin was totally extra and ridiculous and how much gray hair Anakin absolutely caused Anakin over the years. ✦ Jinning Your Padawan by RestlessWanderings, obi-wan & anakin & ahsoka & rex & ahsoka, 1.4k     or: the one where everyone finds out that qui-gon abandoned obi-wan on a war torn planet and that the action has a name    You sort of have to roll with the premise of this fic, because Qui-Gon was actually beloved by these characters (and that the JA novels were never canon/are incompatible with TCW, so they don't really fit together), rather than bashing him, but when I read it, it was totally on Obi-Wan's side and it was more about ribbing Qui-Gon himself than anything else (whom I go back and forth on) and so I could totally roll with it and it's a light-hearted, silly, sharply written piece! The dialogue is a lot of fun and, setting aside Qui-Gon, what the fic does is that its aim is to make characters feel better , that it's not about being cruel, it's about making characters happy and, look, canon gives me enough of the sads and the mads, I want everyone to be happy in fic! When it's about treating my beloved Obi-Wan well and understanding how much shit he's been through, look, that is what I am here for, it's my jam, because I don't get enough of it. I want everyone to be happy, so I'm glad that Anakin and Ahsoka are so warm-hearted and adorable here, too! But, oh, man, give me everyone being happy and I'm yours , so this fic really got me in the good way. ✦ untitled by bcdroom-hymns, obi-wan/anakin, NSFW, spanking, ~1k       It would not be the first time Anakin drapes himself over Obi-Wan’s lap, but this is the first time he looks up to him with his cheeks reddened and asks:    This is a fun, id-pleasing fic that's about the enthusiastic sexy times and the kink it's embracing, it's about how much Anakin likes getting spanked because it empties the noise out of his head, that it makes him melt into a boneless heap, that it doesn't need anything beyond this to be satisfying. So I enjoyed it a lot! ✦ A Human Resource Problem by igrockspock, leia & ben, 1.2k       Kylo Ren captures General Organa. It does not turn out as planned.    I want so many Leia-and-Ben fics! So many! And this was a very nice start to scratching that itch. It's a short piece, but I love it, that it's both bittersweet and determined, that there's such hurt and pain there even as there's resilience, that they both would act this way towards each other. A lovely read that I've been wanting to see more of.
