#poorly drawn mdzs#mdzs#mianmian#nie mingjue#jin guangyao#JGY is nothing but outwardly calm and carrying on his duties as the chair for the meeting#but in that small pause after Nie Mingjue commemorates Mianmian for leaving...you can feel the tension.#Because Nie Mingjue comes from a place of privilege. He's always been in a position where his legitimacy and political standing-#-were never challenged. He didn't have to fight for respect. He was born into this world respected.#For people like Mianmian and JGY who clawed their way up from the bottom...this is a huge deal.#Truth be told I have a lot of things to say about what it means and feels to be in a position where leaving is messy.#There are times where the situation is bad but to leave means that those years of your life will have been for nothing.#That all the other suffering incurred will be fruitless. So you just *keep going*. Because it *has* to be worth it.#Because going back to what you were before is even more terrifying than the hell you are boiling in.#My concrete example for this is post-grad academia.#Because that cohort will have spent over a decade pursuing a goal and leaving means...well...it means throwing away those years.#It means losing (likely nearly all) your connections. It means going into debt you'll never pay off.#It means putting up with some pretty heinous abuse from your supervisor because what are you suppose to do? Leave?#Leaving is for those with the privilege to have options.#And even if you do have options...#Ultimately we would rather love the pain we know than risk the unknown. Hoping it's worth it one day.#With that mindset established; never say JGY should have just left like Mianmian. He couldn't. This was what he dedicated his life to.#He never had the option. Even if it seemed like he did - no he did not. He never conceived this ending ever happening for himself.

#legend of zelda#loz#twilight princess#loz tp#i'm still reeling that someone sent me an ask about this one.. that they took the time to find my tumblr and tell me they liked it#it really meant a lot; thank you to anyone that stops to leave comments like that. they make me happy#but yeah! here's the usual symbolism ramble:#i thought it'd be cool to have the 'spirits' flowing one way and the cats walking through them the other way#to kinda show the difference in life inhabiting the village in the past and present#link's face is covered because impaz was just waiting for 'the hero' so his clothes are what matters; not his face#and it (hopefully) gives a surreal and intangible sense to 'the hero' she could only hope would actually show up#you can feel free to interpret the glowy blue sheikah as ghosts or just as memories of the past! i couldn't decide either way#the one on the bottom left is oot impa since she's implied to be the village founder. so i guess she would be a ghost actually?#fan art#my art#project stuff#and ahhh the book-- everyone's stuff is so beautiful!!#especially the writing. some of the fics made me really tear up and some were so fun and clever. i really love them#a lot of them captured the sheer burden of the role of the sheikah; all of the time and grief and doubt#i know i always say this stuff about every project but. the people i get to work with in these are truly so skilled every time

Story Differences
This story was meant to be an AU of the original, so there's some notable differences:
The way the story's written was to imagine if Rachel was the main protag of Castle of Nations instead of Clarice (though she'd still definitely be a main character).
As such, events in the CoN's prologue hasn't happened yet. This means Clarice hasn't met Climber by the time she meets Rachel.
Times are pretty modern in this story, as seen by Rachel having a smart phone.
To contrast Rachel's comfortable upbringing (and explain the flip phone), Clarice was going to be someone who always lived in poverty and grew up in a rough neighborhood.
Due to too little info about the park and how it works, the story was going to focus more on what's going on outside of it.
Sadly, bc of this, most other park residents (aside from Karl) doesn't have a large presence in the story :(

Why do you answer questions out of order?
Most asks I receive are repeats that I've already answered. I'm not really keen on clogging my blog with repeat ask posts. Some of them I do wanna answer but require more social energy so it takes time. It's like answering an email sometimes.

#the hearts on the veils/candles bingo are broken bc. well. yknow#ask#i do have slightly different outlooks on both of them#spwines is basically just canon to me in a divorced way. like. i dont think they're romantic. but i Do think they're infinitely divorced#the spwines divorce is extremely real#soulmates that will find each other in every universe type shit. except the soulmates is being Exes™ in every universe#their constant bickering is amusing and im delighted everytime they show up together bc without fail they argue. and it's enrichment for me#i just know the scoundrel is involving herself in the spwines divorce war on the side of mr wines#(she really needs better things to do with her time)#fallen london#veils/candles on the other hand i dont really actively ship? i think it's an intriguing prospect#i like seeing interpretations of their dynamic#but i dont think they necessarily ever had a relationship like that. and if they ever did. well. it's a bit fucked up now isnt it#the tragedy of candles is definitely a lot more tragic if you interpret him and veils as being Close. but i think of it as extra spice#on top of an already delicious dish#yknow?#that being said. they're kind of on the same Extreme Divorced wavelength as spwines. albeit obviously in a VERY different way#i think the most karmically fitting fate for veils is being tormented by its sins (particularly towards candles) for all eternity#and like. that's a ship. in a way. of a sort.#veils alone with the corpse it lovingly handcrafted and left to rot at the bottom of a well#it's the classic disney villain ending where the antagonist gets literally dragged away and punished by their victims#which is all to say#that one bag a legend text where veils is speaking to someone you cant see and it's Afraid. that's delicious#i love it being tormented like that and we all should hold candles over its head forever and ever

#oc: sophia a. naumenko/sonya#I'm back with another moodboard for another little girl#i usually call ocs my daughters dont ask why#she's a rather old oc way pass 10 years old but i love revisiting old characters and give them a little upgrade bc my writing at the time#was shit or i didnt do enough research for them#i'm actually quite proud of myself she's the only oc who's over 30 years and was married#and divorced lol#her lore is crazy around those years#and she's my second jewish character#the pastries at the bottom left are hamantaschen they're served on purim and she was born during purim katan#i found this out yesterday when i checked the calendars but i'm happy with that detail she deserves to be born on a joyous holiday#although she's a hellsing oc her story is set during the dawn timeline bc as a history nerd i cant keep myself away from ww2#and the cold war#at least i have reasons to research the 60s and the 70s more#and since deep down i know that the dawn will never be finished i got a lot of room for worldbuilding and headcannons#bc i'm not that tied to cannon events#the old version of her had some supernatural abilities but now I decided that she'll be a regular human who's just a damn good sniper#it's way more fun to have a mortal character thrown into this story and setting and see how she interacts with all the stuff going on#and this also means she had to keep her involvement with the organization a secret to her ex-husband#i'm gonna put her in the tags yall have some damn good and pretty ocs out there its like releasing your child at the playgrounds#hellsing oc#my moodboards :3
