I would like to know more about Blue Angel Bradley.

Finally someone asked about this!!!! I found the idea notes for the first time in about a year when I was looking through my wips for the tag game!!

So in this au Bradley is an aviator while Jake is a nurse (specifically he’s an ER nurse but he volunteers to work at medical tents at airshows that come to San Diego). Also Goose lives (I love this man too much to kill him in most of my aus) but Carole doesn’t.

Now because I can’t completely ignore cannon, Carole does ask Mav to keep Bradley out of the Navy and to not tell Goose that she asked this of him. But Mav, loves his godson and his brother too much to go through with it. Goose knows that while his wife never really said anything, she wasn’t a fan of him being a fighter pilot or of him flying in general. Carole had a fear of flying but unfortunately she loved men who loved the sky and had a son who loved it just as much. While Goose respects his wife, he isn’t gonna let her dying wish ruin his son’s life just because she wasn’t scared.

Bradley does go to the academy and he does go to flight school but he chooses to focus on flying demonstrations and educating people about the navy and naval aviation. Him and his dads (he considers mav his second dad) set down before he went to the academy where his dads told him about his mom’s dying wish. Bradley was around 13 or so when she died. They came up with him flying demo as a way for him to keep his flying dreams and to keep him from flying combat as like a way to respect his mom’s wish for him to stay out of dangerous situations. Carole’s thought was that flying was dangerous so that by not letting him fly he would stay out of danger.

So Bradley and ER nurse Jake would meet pre blue angel show in San Diego when Bradley manages to cut himself and no has a band-aid so he has to go the first aid tent. That is where he meets the pretty blonde nurse who he flirts with while Jake gives him a band-aid cause while Bradley might be a Blue Angel there’s a real Angel in the medical tent or that’s what he tells Phoenix when he gets back to the planes. Of course when Phoenix asks for the Angel’s name Bradley realizes he didn’t ask and didn’t think to look to see if the man had a name tag cause Bradley was too busy looking into Jake’s eyes or at his ass.

please know that i adore your paragraphs, for i am also quite a talkative person. seeing you in here brings a smile to my face.

this is actually my third revision of this wip because i keep running into ideas to strengthen the story...i don't know what the final word count will be, but i anticipate splitting into two parts because tumblr only allows 1000 blocks of texts in one post. boo. i love long fics.

Now, Sunghoon walks with excitement because he anticipates running into you when he’s on his way up. Sometimes you both arrive at the lobby together. Other times it’s you that he sees unlocking his door when he approaches. It doesn’t matter to him, though. The only good thing about working late on the weekdays is that he gets to run into you when he comes home."

Hi, I saw your post about staring at wall instead of writing and I’m curious about story you mentioned in tags.

I’m assuming you’re talking the about cholo Jake idea

So really there’s not a whole lot to it so far. Essentially Jake’s parents are his sister and her boyfriend/husband (they got married after they turned 18 and could adopt Jake).

Her name is Bianca and she was 16 when Jake was born. For a lack of better term, their bio parents are pieces of shit. They grew up in a somewhat impoverished area. Their mother was druggie and their dad sold. Bianca’s boyfriend is named Juan. They met at a gas station where Bianca works when he was going back to California after visiting family in Mexico.

Bianca knows what shitty parents hers are and after Jake is born she swears she’s not gonna let Jake grow up like she did. He’s gonna get an education and not drop out of school at 14. Juan and Bianca are long distance until Bianca is 18 and then Juan and his mom and sisters come to Texas to convince the Seresins it would be a better idea to sign custody of Jake over to Bianca and Juan. Then Bianca and Jake move to California to live with Juan and his family.

Jake was raised knowing Bianca as his mom as she was the one who primarily took care of him even before he was legally her son. Juan and Bianca sat him down when he was 12 and told him the truth about his parentage. Juan helped Jake discover his lover for automotives and then aviation as Juan was a mechanic. Juan’s family helped support Bianca and Jake while she went to get her GED and then became a paramedic then a nurse. His family originally moved to the USA so they could pursue a better life and they wanted Bianca to have the same chance. To make something more of herself than what she was born into.

So Jake grew up speaking Spanish and English but primarily Spanish. And I just love the idea of white boy jake dropping the most scathing comments and insults in perfect Spanish with a Latino accent (is that the correct term?) completely opposite to his very English speaking white looking all American boy self.

So the reason it’s called cholo Jake is because despite what he seems to the people who know him at the academy and after he wasn’t raised middle class suburban white family. He was raised near the California-Mexico border where there was heavy gang activity. I can’t explain it super well but watch cholofitcreeper on tik Tok. He’s what I imagine Juan being like. That’s what the community Jake was raised in was like.

Also Jake drives an el Camino with flames on it like you’d see on Guy Fierri’s shirt. It makes Jake feel like he’s still part of the culture and family that raised him. It’s a little part of them he can have when he’s away.

There’s like no actual plot ideas to this au. Just the vibes and backstory.

Alastor is a complex character!

Despite being one of the few characters in Hazbin with confirmed identities (his ethnic background and sexual orientation), those identities are in of themselves, complex experiences.

There’s seemingly nothing about the character that is Black or White.

I think that’s why he is such a compelling character! Also, it’s probably one reason why he is such an attractive conduit for folks’ creative expression.

His identities are not necessarily why many people may gravitate towards him, but they do offer a chance for people to investigate him and explore a character—as unique as he is—into avenues they may not have considered before.

I can commiserate with feeling defensive of a character who shares an identity with you—ESPECIALLY an underrepresented one. Discourse is natural and completely fine! (And very educational sometimes in my experience)

But I don’t think it’s fruitful to police a fandom in these matters. Some folks come to my inbox (I delete the really rude ones) or comment sections with a very cop-like attitude to a space that’s supposed to be creative and/or fun *airhorn*

the duality of comments i get gives me whiplash sometimes. cause i'll get a really nice very sweet comment from people, then i'll get needless feedback that is like. if i wanted you to critique my work i would have asked for that. and then i'll get a comment like "you should kill yourself" and i'm just like. if i wasnt an adult and/or wasn't in a good headspace can you imagine the repercussions that would have. if i had gotten these types of comments when i was a teenager i don't think i would be writing right now. people get real brave when they think things are anonymous. anyways you don't know what people are going through and maybe, just maybe, think before you make a mean comment or critique without permission. if you're leaving any other kind of comment then you're already doing 10x better than that and making someone's day
