"Stop the wedding!!"
So you get to see NRC food fighting RSA in the end lol Yan! NRC vs Yan! RSA x GN Isekai'd Player (Self-aware)
All the people inside the cafeteria turned their attention to you, an isekai'd player.
"(Name)!!" Idia beamed in tears, finally someone saving him! ... wait, someone? Oh no no no no! You are not just 'someone'!! Why did he even bother troubling you to this extent? He should have just kissed the bride!!!
"Make it right in time, you got me, Ace?" "Thank you for kicking me like a barrel toward the ghosts, pal," Ace replied dejectedly but posed no annoyance at all.
"Potato, since when do you have the funds to get yourself such a nice suit?" Vil questioned as he inspected your overall. The makeup and hairdo were not done to the utmost perfection but he can let it slide because anything on you equals absolute beauty.
"Oh, this? So you are smart enough to realize Crowley won't cover MY suit! I mean, he was trying teeth and nails to not let me join Ace and Co!"
"At least he does something right for the first time," Leona added. "White suits you though I thought you'd surely go with Black as usual?" Trey cocked his head to the side questioningly.
"Look, this is what Neige lent me. And all his attires are almost pristine white! I'm telling ya'!" At that statement, you saw Vil twitch despite not being able to move, he must have been very pissed at the mention of Neige's name alone.
"Originally I planned on taking Cheny'a's but I realized how eccentric his taste is so I decided to go with Neige. The RSA students are kind enough to assist Neige in tailoring it to my size too! Got them right in time before Crowley could shoo me!"
"Dude, even the RSA knows how to respect them, I don't know if I should be angry or nah but it certainly leaves a bad aftertaste seeing them wearing what RSA makes for them." Cater whispers something to the person next to him, inaudible to your ears.
"What do you say if we steal the suit and then burn it down in front of them after we are done here? I'd like to give them a nice thank you hug too while we are at it." "And we should leave them some of my... flowers collection too. This alone should be enough to show our gratitude right?"
"I'd say we should try giving them a proper form of token of gratitude too, how about Master Lilia's cooking?" Sebek added with a grin, he had his fair share of Lilia's cooking to the point he'd like to share it with the others.
"Oh? Then I'd have to make sure to add extra 'love' into it." He replied, this time intending to poison people so its horrifying taste was multiplied at natural without him realizing it.
"Wait, why would we even bother giving them a handmade cooki-" Jack was immediately silenced by Cater's eerie smile. He had his fair share and he knew they meant nothing well from it at all.
"Hey Ace, do something! Stop throwing all your work on prefect!" Deuce yelled by the sideline, ready to chew his ears off.
"I agree, you shouldn't let someone magic-less handle this handful situation alone, get a hold of yourself right now will you, Ace?" Azul scowled and started to usher Ace into work.
"Dude! Now all of you are cornering me?" "You haven't finished, Ace?!"
And Riddle's voice was all it took to make Ace cowered like a puppy. Rook shook his head in disappointment, this had taken way longer than the original gameplay.
"Hurry! We should wrap things up as though we are changing a dirty tablecloth into a new one!" Epel yelled out rather... unique lines. Was he trying to be as poetic as Rook? If anything, both Rook and Vil said nothing regarding this.
"Riiiiighhhhtttt, I'm kinda checked out now, to be honest." Idia's eyes immediately widened, not you too?!
Just before the other could chant another "Smooch the bride", you immediately lunged toward the bride. All those gym class training paid off! Basically, this and that until the ghost inflated.
And instead of Rook ordering you and Epel around, you took the steering wheel before anyone could. "Move yer' ass you glorified wood logs! Move move move!"
The lucky person is the person who gets to feel you dragging them. Absolute win!
--
"Urgh, I'm so gonna have phasmophobia now." Idia rolled his eyes as the ghosts departed but to be honest? He was happy to see you barging into the cafeteria like a knight in shining armor for him! (It was mostly the others fighting lol)
Idia was taken by surprise the moment your hand smacked his back. "Would you look at it, the star of the show, a handsome groom adorned in black! You look positively breathtaking, senior Idia."
"Eep-! Oh no, they have graced me with their words that are enough to deafen me! What should I do? How should I show them just how grateful I am to be even considered by them???"
"What did you say? I couldn't hear you really well." "Well, brother said that-" "N-n-no! Nothing! I uh... am thankful... for your assistance." He answered bashfully, his hair tip turned into a shade of pink.
"Now now potato, it's time to change, wearing that must have been uncomfortable right?" Vil immediately pulled you away from the pink introvert. "No...? Neige said that it's meant to be comfortable and it's true!" "Well, we have something even wayyyy more comfortable for you, shrimpy! Come on now, let's take it off and dress you up in something else!"
--
Lilia was leading everyone with a basket of something, a speaker in one hand and Neige's suit in the other hand, "Hey you RSA whippersnappers! Get down!"
The head mage was coincidentally away that day and it allowed the NRC students to lead a protest in front of the academy's gate.
Lilia threw the white suit onto the ground while Leona whistled, signaling Rook to shoot an arrow of fire toward it like an Olympic grand opening. (What a duo.)
"Yeah! Eat this you good for nothing!" Cater and Ruggie immediately took out the pie from Lilia's basket and threw it right onto the students' face. Kalim was generous enough to sponsor lots of baking materials for Lilia with Jamil assisting with the baking. It was badly burnt but still hard as a rock.
Cheny'a was careful enough to avoid Trey and Riddle while Vil was feeling rather generous in feeding Neige~ Oh, and Malleus is always bullseye in his shots, hitting everyone down in no time. He was pretty pissed (sulking) that he was not invited to join your fun. Silver was not being merciful too, he didn't fall asleep at all during this whole thing!.
Rollo was feeling rather grateful but also sad that you did not come to him to ask for his help :( And Crowley just watched everything from the sidelines while praying that nothing bad will be sent to him after this. Well, he's happy with how bright his students are.

A Manly Guard Dog
Requested Here!
Pairing: Tim Bradford x fem!wife!reader
Summary: You've been asking your husband for a dachshund, but he tells you that you need a manly dog. When the K9 unit gets a new recruit, Tim reevaluates his view of dachshunds.
Warnings: teasing/banter, pure fluff
Word Count: 1.2k+ words
Masterlist | Tim Bradford Masterlist | Request Info/Fandom List
“Tim?” you whisper over your dimmed phone screen. “Are you asleep?”
“That depends,” your husband Tim answers. “Why?”
“Look at this.”
“I’m asleep.”
You roll your eyes at his poor attempt to avoid talking to you, even though it is the middle of the night and he has to be at the station in the morning. Despite feeling bad for waking him up, you know he’s awake and need to ask him something important.
“Tim, it hurts,” you add.
“What hurts?” he asks as he sits up quickly. After he pushes up onto his hands, Tim leans toward you and reaches over you to turn on the lamp on your nightstand.
“Look,” you repeat, extending your phone toward Tim so he can see the dog on the screen. “It hurts because I don’t have one of my own.”
“A dachshund? We’re back to this again?” Tim asks incredulously.
“Tim, I want a dog.” Your words are emphasized by your pout, but Tim only grunts as he turns the light off and lies down again.
“If we ever get a dog - big if,” Tim murmurs, “it has to be a manly dog. One that can protect you when I’m not here.”
“We can train a dachshund to be a guard dog,” you argue. “They’re vigilant, loyal, vocal, and easy to train. Tim, it would be perfect and so cute!”
Tim tosses an arm over your waist and kisses your temple before he responds, “Go to sleep.”
As you move closer to him to do just that, he whispers, “I love you, but we’re not getting a wiener dog.”
“Tim, Tim, Tim!” Lucy calls as Tim exits the locker room the following morning. “Oh, you’re not going to believe this.”
“Then don’t tell me,” Tim deadpans.
“So, there’s a new K9, right?” Lucy begins as they walk toward the bullpen.
“And you’re telling me.”
“The trainer brought Officer Fuzz over. Cutest name ever, I know. But when we heard that they were working with a new breed we thought it would be a husky or something. It’s not. It’s so much better. Guess what it is, Tim!”
Tim stops in the middle of the bullpen. A crowd of officers surrounds the K9 trainer, and between two cops, Tim can barely make out the shape of…
“A dachshund?” Tim asks loudly.
“Yes!” Lucy cheers. “Isn’t it awesome?!”
“I can’t believe this.”
“C’mon,” Lucy urges, pulling Tim along by his arm. “Meet Officer Fuzz.”
Tim squats to pet the friendly dog and shakes his head at the tiny K9 vest he’s wearing.
“Nice to meet you, Fuzz,” Tim mumbles. “My wife’s never going to let me hear the end of this, pal.”
“Bradford,” Wade calls from the other side of the circle. “How would you like to take them out for a ride along?”
Tim stands as the trainer adds, “I’d love to join one of the best officers in the field to test Officer Fuzz’s progress.”
“Sure,” Tim answers through gritted teeth. “But are dachshunds really worth anything in a job like this?”
The trainer and Officer Fuzz follow Tim toward his shop, and Tim can’t help but watch the small dog walk happily through the station on his first day.
“If they’re trained right, they certainly can. They’re bred to hunt badgers by tracking scents and entering their burrows. A lot of those skills translate to police dog responsibilities. Basically, because of their intimidating bark, alertness, devotion, braveness and stubbornness - courtesy of their hunting instincts - they’re perfect. Fuzz here can scare a suspect or locate bombs, drugs, you name it.”
“Scare suspects until they see him, you mean,” Tim points out.
“Well, Bradford. Let’s test your theory.”
“LAPD!” Tim yells. “On the ground!”
Behind him, Officer Fuzz barks.
“Is that a dog?” the suspect attempting to steal a sports car asks. “Your car doesn’t say K9.”
“Show me your hands and drop to your knees!” Tim repeats. “Or I can call my K9 partner over here.”
The man seems to weigh his options, then drops his tool and raises his hands over his head.
“Scared of dogs?” Tim asks.
“Police dogs are crazy dangerous, man. Scared is smart, that’s what my-“
“I don’t care who said it,” Tim interjects before he begins reciting the Miranda rights.
When Tim opens the back door of his car, Officer Fuzz growls lowly before barking once.
“Whoa! I’m not sitting by that thing!”
“See the barrier? That’s for your safety, not ours,” Tim says. “Now get in.”
At lunch, Tim pulls his phone from his pocket and begins to type. He hesitates, however, and looks away before he can finish the search.
“Chen!” he calls, waving for Lucy to join him. “Where can I adopt a dachshund?”
Lucy’s eyes widen in excitement before she asks, “You’re getting a dog?!”
“I’m getting my wife a dog.”
“Because of Officer Fuzz,” Lucy states (not asks).
“No,” Tim defends. “No, I just… Dachshunds are a good option for family pets and protection.”
“Which you know because of Officer-“
“Fine, yes,” Tim admits quickly. “Do you know where I can adopt one or not?”
“Maybe you should ask the K9 trainers,” Lucy suggests. “They’ll know where to get a good one.”
“Thanks, Lucy.”
“Sure thing.” Lucy stands to return to her partner, but not before she says, “And I’m glad you’re finally listening to your wife.”
“No, quiet,” Tim commands. “Good. Now, sit.”
“Tim?” you call from the front door.
“Uh, one second!” Tim calls.
He sounds frazzled, and you walk toward his voice before you stop. Tim is whispering to someone, but you can’t make out what he’s saying before the bedroom door opens.
“Hi,” you greet. “Are you okay?”
“You’re home early,” he replies, gripping the doorknob tightly.
You glance at the time on your phone and say, “No, I’m not.”
Tim’s brows furrow as he looks at his watch. He nods, then laughs and locks eyes with you.
“Am I interrupting something?” you ask.
“No, well, yes, but no.”
“That’s not an answer.”
Tim sighs and reaches toward you. You don’t hesitate to step forward and lay your hand on his. With his hand wrapped around yours, Tim leads you into the bedroom, and inside, a brown blur races toward you.
“Tim!” you exclaim as the long-haired dachshund puts its front paws on your leg and wags its tail happily. “A dachshund!”
“Canis lupus familiarias. The K9 trainer that helped me out told me all about them,” he explains.
“Is he…” You trail off, unprepared to hear a negative answer.
“He’s ours,” Tim answers happily. “He’s already been obedience trained and I’m going to work with him to create the smallest but mightiest guard dog you’ve ever seen.”
You pull the dog into your arms and hug him kindly before you lean against Tim’s chest.
“Thank you,” you whisper, looking into Tim’s eyes.
“Sorry I said no for so long.”
“What changed your mind?”
Tim doesn’t answer, and you turn your attention to your new pet, or guard dog as Tim introduced him to you.
“Was it Lucy? I bet it was Lucy,” you whisper to the dog.
“It was Officer Fuzz,” Tim grumbles, wrapping his arm around your shoulders.
“Officer who?”
“New K9 who I’m sure you’ll meet next time you visit the station.”
“I love you.”
Tim kisses your head before he asks, “Wait, me or the dog?”

Welcome to Tonys Pizza
Tonys is used to having heros (and likewise) frequent their joint. Mr. Laufeyson want a pie? Got it. Peter want a slice? A comin right up. Hell! A cocker spaniel and a mutt wanna kiss out back over a meta balla? Fuck it. This is new york! As long as dem dogs aint from jersey.
But one of their longest, and possibly weirdest customers is- you guessed it. Wade.
Here at Tonys we got one saying. You make miya mama cry? You getta slap with da pie. Unfortunately this was true until a lawsuit in '17.
But the point still stands.
So one day, when their friend comes with a bit of extra peperoni on him? Who are they to judge? However, They DO heavily judge the fact that he just ordered a large supreme minus everything except the olives and pineapple.
"What!?? Wade you're gonna make me ma cry!" Tony jr (Tony, being his father, who tragically passed when a group of fellas thought 'pizza' was code for dope and not actual pizza) yells, throwing his hands up.
"I know, I know, but you did it for me last time!"
"Last time, my father also kept pineapples just for you in the fridge! Can't be doing that anymore, bad for business."
"Oh but the rat manning the brick oven isn't?"
"Wha!- Who told you bout- cha know what? Fine. Fine!! Aye Vinny! Our pal Wade here wants the usual!"
"WHAT!?" Came from the kitchen before a man comes out, a long rat tail in the back under his hat. You can take this literally or metaphorically.
I don't care. Im just tellin this story not writing it.
"You want me a go buy a whole pineapple just for one pizza!?"
"Yes."
He sighs, loudly taking off his apron and slammed it on the counter, muttering under his breath. "Why always the crazy ones? Move to new york ma said. Its good buisness ma said. ALWAYS the crazy ones!"
"Love ya vinnnyyy~" Wade cooes, watching him leave. Just as he does, The bell rings again. He leans on the counter with a happy grin.
"Welcome to Tonys! Ya make my mama a- c-Cry?!"
"What's taking so long?" Logan grumbles, having just wanted to go home already.
"You're the wolverine.. ThEE wolverine! Aha!! I need to call my mom! She's not gonna believe this! The Wolverine is in OUR shop!!"
Wade giggles, watching as Logan tilts his head at the attention. "Whats with him?"
"You're the Wolverine, bucko. That's a big deal around this place. Now, what do you want on your pizza, big boy?"
".. they do chorizo?"
"Mhmmm~ why? In the mood for some sausage?" Wade teases, smirking more as he coud hear Tony on the phone in the back.
"Ma! Its him! Its really him! Yeah- no, Im lookin at him!"
"....people like you Logan." Wade smiles to him, seeing him frown. "..They like the old Logan.. they think im him."
Wade's toothy grin expands, standing and leaning against him. "With all due respect, Loagie? You're nothing like him. And I love that."
"Hm."
_____
"Alright thank you guys!"
"No problemo, extra pepperoni!" Tony calls, smilin because his tip jar was now full.
"What the fuck did he just call you?" Logan turns. It wasn't hard to tell he was nicknamed this after his skin.
Putting a hand on his forearm, Wade giggles. "Easy tiger. It's an inside joke. When I first came back- like this" he gestures to his face" I asked them for extra pepperoni. They asked how much, and I said as much as I got on my face. Ever since he's called me extra pepperoni. Hey why do you get to be "super cool wolverine" and im just extra pep?"
Logan shrugs, taking the pizza box as he looks at the label, stopping on a fairly not busy side walk a few houses from the apparentment.
"Wait a sec... Wade.. you did tell them one of these were mine right?"
"Huh? What do you mean? I.. I thought I did?"
Opening the boxes, there stood two perfect pinapple olive, chorizo pies. Steaming and ready to be devoured.
The label on the receipt said "Poolverine special"
Logan cringes. "You put pineapple on our pizza??"
But Wade gasps, eyes lighting up. "Sweet salty AND spicy!! Logan, you're a genius!!"
Lets just say.. Wade picked off all the pineapple from Logan's half of the pizza, and he definitely would be returning for more poolverine specials..

my family thinks we're dating.
Accompanied by James Potter as a guest at his family gathering, you find yourself developing newfound emotions for him.
sincerelyyycece © ─ all rights reserved. please do not repost/translate/copy any of my work.
"My family thinks we’re dating," said a voice, interrupting my train of thought. I raised my eyes to see James. "What?" I inquired, raising my brows. "They think we’re dating," he stated again. I notice a couple of silhouettes snickering behind him. I turn around to see his relatives spying on us. James and I were attending his small family gathering. He invited me as a friend because he did not want to go alone, and I figured I would keep him company. They were clearly making every effort to remain undetected while spying on us.
I shook my head and laughed. "Your family's something, huh?" I joked. He mutters. "I knew bringing you here was a bad idea.” I laughed at his reaction. "I see where you got your nosiness from," I joked. He shook his head and buried his face in his hands. "Anyway, why does your family think we’re dating?" I switched the subject. "You’re the first girl I have ever brought to a gathering like this.” My brow furrowed in surprise. "Really? Not even your precious Lilypad?” I teased.
"Nope," he said as he sipped his drink, adding, "I never really saw her as a long-term thing, you know?" I responded with a slow nod. "Besides, it is such a pain." I snorted. "If you loved her, it’s not a pain," I explained. "Yeah, well, I did love her; I just didn’t see her in my future," he explained. "How come you brought me here when we’re not even dating?" I wondered. "I see you in my future," he ends, making eye contact.
I had no idea we were leaning into each other until he abruptly broke the silence with his voice and moved his head away. "You’re my friend, and you’re clearly a part of my future; friendships can last for years," he continues. I swallowed and sat up straight. We were sitting in awkward silence when Euphemia yelled from a distance. "Have some dessert, my dears!" He stands up and takes his cup. "Coming!" he responds. He gave me a look and motioned towards his house. I immediately understood and shook my head. “I’ll have some later.” He nods and walks inside. I drifted off after he left.
I recall his words from earlier, his voice echoing in the back of my mind. Our friendship has been going on for years. I can not see myself feeling anything for James. I creased my brow at the thought. But what if...? My eyes widen, and I shake my head. "Stop, Y/N, stop," I mumbled. "He is your friend! Nothing else!" I chastised myself. "Hey," James called from a distance. I turn to face him. He raised his eyebrows but did not question my actions. "They’re calling you already," James said, motioning inside. "Oh yeah, okay," I said as I stood up and straightened myself. Clear your mind, Y/N. I sighed to myself. I entered his home and smiled at his parents, grateful for their hospitality.
He is nothing more than a pal. You are simply very close friends. There is nothing strange about him taking you to meet his family. He is your friend, I am his friend, and we are friends. That is all there is to it. I considered it sternly. Just…friends. I continued, his words lingering in my mind.
As I joined the lively gathering inside, the aroma of freshly baked desserts filled the air, momentarily distracting me from the whirlwind of thoughts that had occupied my mind just moments before. James's family welcomed me with warm smiles and insisted that I try every homemade delicacy they had prepared.
As the evening unfolded, I conversed with James's family, sharing stories and laughter that echoed through the cosy living room. James and I seamlessly transitioned between the roles of friends and family, and I couldn't help but appreciate the genuine connection we had built over the years.
At one point, James's best pal, Sirius, approached me with a mischievous grin. "You know," he whispered, "you and James make a cute couple." I chuckled nervously, dismissing the notion. "We're just friends, Sirius," I clarified, though his playful expression hinted at a deeper understanding.
The night continued with shared laughter, board games, and the warmth of newfound friendships. As we all gathered for a group photo, James put his arm around my shoulder, and the camera captured a moment frozen in time—a snapshot of friendship and camaraderie.
Later in the evening, James and I sat on the porch, enjoying the cool breeze. The atmosphere was serene, and the distant laughter from inside formed a backdrop to our quiet conversation.
James turned to me with a genuine smile. "Thanks for being here today, Y/N. It means a lot." I returned the smile, appreciating the sincerity in his words. "Anytime, James. Your family is wonderful, and I'm grateful to be a part of this." He nodded in agreement, and for a moment, we sat in comfortable silence.
As the night wore on, James walked me to my car, the sky painted with hues of midnight blue. Before I left, he looked at me with a hint of vulnerability. "I hope my family's assumption didn't make things awkward for you."
I reassured him with a laugh, "Not at all. It's just amusing, that's all." But as I drove home, the words lingered in my mind, and I couldn't shake the awareness that the line between friendship and something more had blurred, if only for a moment.
In the days that followed, I found myself reflecting on the evening and questioning the nature of my feelings towards James. Was it just a case of friendly banter from his family, or did it tap into something deeper that I hadn't acknowledged?
As the weeks passed, James and I continued our routine of shared adventures and laughter, and while everything seemed unchanged on the surface, a subtle shift had occurred—one that left me wondering if, perhaps, the boundaries of our friendship were evolving in a way I hadn't anticipated.

flinch | s.b.
tw: angst, swearing
hurt to comfort, sirius black x reader
"Why the fuck would you do that? Why would you fucking flirt with her?"
"I wasn't flirting with her, goddamn it! I was being nice!"
"Yeah, being nice meant giving her a kiss goodbye, didn't it?"
"I didn't kiss her! Oh my god, I- I could hit you right now!" Sirius yelled, the last drops of his anger ringing in the silence as you flinch, reflexively bringing your hands up to cover your face. His eyes widen in shock, then understanding. He opens and closes his mouth a few times before slowly stepping towards you.
"You're trembling. Oh my god, you're trembling. I'm so sorry," he murmurs, reaching one hand out towards you, as though you were some rabid animal. You instinctively move away from his touch. "No, I- I'm fine," you choke out, lowering your trembling hands. "I'm okay, sorry. I didn't mean to do that. I'm sorry."
He coos in pity, stepping towards you again, but stopping short when he sees the way you wince. He sighs and drops his hands to his sides. "No, it's my fault. I shouldn't have yelled at you. I... I took it too far. I'm so sorry, dove." he murmurs, looking at you with concern. Given both yours and his past, living in abusive households had pushed the both of you to make a promise never to yell at each other.
Sirius broke that promise. He broke your trust. The thought of that caused you to let out a sob, and you squish your hand to your mouth to muffle it. Sirius makes a strangled sort of noise in his throat as he reaches out towards you again. "Baby," he breathes out, voice laced with hurt. "Can I hug you?" You hesitate for a moment. Then you nod, and he closes the distance between you.
Sirius gently wraps his arms around you, unsure just how much you want. But when you bury your head in his chest and tighten your hold around him, he squeezes you in a strangling hug. You lean into the embrace gratefully. "I'm so sorry. I don't want to do this,” you sniffle into his chest, your tears wetting his shirt. "Do what, love?" he asks quietly, stroking your hair.
“I feel like I'm guilt-tripping you. I'm sorry. I don't wanna be the girl that flinches." He places a gentle kiss on the top of your head and buries his face in your hair. "I know you don't, baby. Heck, we both don't wanna be that person. But you're not guilt-tripping me. I get it, and I shouldn't have broken our promise. I'm sorry. It happened just this once, never again."
You hum in response, a few more tears slipping down your cheeks as you stay in the tight embrace. "Were you cheating, though?" you mumble, your voice starting to shake with anxiety.
"No," he responds immediately, no hesitation in his words. Sirius clutches you tighter. "I wasn't, and I'm sorry if I made it seem that way. Lily's always been a pal, and that's all she'll ever be. I shouldn't have hugged her like that if it made you uncomfortable."
You feel relief blooming in your chest at his words, and you nod silently, finally pulling away slightly to look at him. You raise your head to meet his eyes, and he smiles softly at you, his eyes full of guilt and love as he presses a kiss between your eyebrows. "There's my beautiful girl," he murmurs, grinning as he rubs his thumbs over your cheeks, his forehead resting on yours. "Now, how about we go get some ice cream? You could have two scoops, on me."
You smile back, and Sirius' eyes light up as though you've personally strung up all the stars in the sky. "Three scoops?" you ask, widening your eyes and pouting in an attempt at a puppy face. He looks you up and down, rolls his eyes and sighs, the hint of a smile on his lips. "Just this once, sweetheart. But you gotta share."
You shake your head and groan in mock defeat, earning a chuckle from him as he helps you put on your sweater and presses a loving kiss to your lips.

Episode ten. (finale)
MASTERLIST
pairing: XO, Kitty's Min Ho x Female Reader
genre: Fluff, angst, enemies-to-lovers, slow burn, coming-of-age.
word count: 3k
warnings: Swearing, suggestive (like, a lot...), reader and Min Ho are clingy as hell.
summary: Transferring to KISS was the last thing you had asked for and, yet, a certain tall boy made it seem both worse and better than you expected.
note: Bold - Korean, Italic - Over the phone
a/n: A short cute ending... I miss writing this series already. Thank you for the love for this one <3
You smiled at him and let him hold you. "I am okay, just a bit shaken up from it all."
He sighed in relief. "You do know I went to her first because I was scared she'd worsen the situation, right?"
You were about to respond but seeing Dae coming at light's speed right at Min Ho, you backed away in fear. Kitty was running after him, just as overwhelmed as you were. Your breathing quickened once Dae grabbed him by the collar before slamming him against the wall. He was smaller, but definitely strong enough to be able to hurt Min Ho.
"You call yourself my friend?" Dae said, anger taking over him.
"What are you talking about?"
"Don't pretend you don't know!" he yelled, shaking Min Ho's body.
"What are you doing?" Min Ho said, acting unfazed by what was happening. "Let go."
His grip finally loosened as Kitty arrived. Min Ho quickly joined your side again, putting his frame in front of you in a protective way.
"Dae, stop it, it's not Min Ho." she begged him. "This has nothing to do with him."
He observed you and your boyfriend, his eyes blinking a few times as he tried to process his own actions. "I'm sorry. I thought you and Kitty-"
"And I think," Min Ho shouted, cutting his sentence off. "you two should have remained pen pals. I think we all think so, too. Including her."
He took your hand and rushed you out of the room. You sent a sad look to your two other friends before you walked out the door. Min Ho didn't say a word until you got to the dorm. You both changed clothes and sat in the kitchen in silence. As he prepared a night tea for you as he'd usually do, you couldn't help but feel uncomfortable. This was definitely not how you thought the end of the semester would look like.
"Min, can we-"
"Talk?" he said in a hard voice. "Haven't we done enough talking today?"
You huffed. "I was about to ask if we could just relax. You're tense."
He put the mugs down in front of you as a sarcastic chuckle left his mouth. "My apologies after feeling like shit when my best friend just told me he thought I had a thing for his girlfriend when I am obviously smitten with my own. And that my girlfriend might have thought for a second I cared more about the only person I've been hating for months than about her."
You said nothing in response. The shake in your grip as you brought the drink to your lips said everything to him. You were frightened, and not by anything. By him. He raised his voice at you for the first time, and you weren't even the problem.
"Hey." he said in a much gentler tone. "I'm sorry. It's been a long day."
"I know."
You continued to drink quietly but he didn't take your answer as a good sign. He heard the slight worry in it and he hated the fact he caused it.
"I'm serious. I shouldn't have put all of my frustration on you, it's not fair."
You shook your head. "But you are right. I did worry for a second you cared more about her than me. It's stupid, I know. It's just..."
"Tell me, I won't judge."
You hesitated but eventually gained the courage to say it. "You're hot as hell when you act all heroic."
He spit his drink out before exploding in laughter. Meanwhile you started to whine and pout, shushing him from laughing at you.
"You promised you wouldn't judge." you cried out playfully.
"You're just too cute." he sneered at you. Walking around the counter, he stopped in front of you and brushed the hair off your face. "You wanted to be the one I saved and not Kitty?"
"No, I get why you did that because she was the one on fire and all. It's just you look handsome when playing the saviour."
He grinned and wrapped your legs around himself, helping you get a grip on him. "You want to be the damsel in distress that bad?"
"Yes." you admitted with a pout.
"Gosh, you look good when you're acting all innocent."
Getting a firmer grip on your thighs, he lifted you up which allowed you to be at his height. Licking his lips hungrily, he looked at you in a seductive way. You were glad he was holding you as it made your knees so weak just from the sight of him. Brushing your fingers through his dark locks, you attacked his lips. The tea long forgotten, he went immediately to his room and dropped you on the bed. Crawling on top of you, you took in his features with the little light you had. Even in the dark, he was breathtaking.
"Are you okay with this?"
You snorted. "As if this is the first time we've done something like this."
He shook his head. "I know but we might go further from here."
The tug you did on his shirt told him plenty. If you were that eager to take the clothes off him, you were eager for something else as well. He removed his upper clothing and leaned down to place soft kisses all over your face.
"I might go rough."
"I'm that hot?" you teased.
"Bloody fucking hot."
The front door opening only resulted to the both of you groaning in frustration.
"We really can't have a fucking break from them."
You laughed and gave him a kiss. "You're just sexually frustrated from being interrupted."
"And you're not?"
You giggled. "Cuddle up, I'm tired."
Though he would have liked to do something other than that, he complied and engulfed you in his warm body. You breathed in his smell and smiled to yourself. In all of what happened that day, you were just grateful to still have him by your side.
The morning was eventful. Kitty and Q were apparently mad at one another, Florian surpassed Dae in getting the best grades and you and Min Ho were nothing but depressed. He had told you he was going to Los Angeles to spend the holidays with his mother. You just didn't expect it to hurt as much. Still in bed, you played with his hair as he laid on your stomach.
"Baby, I can hear your heart and it's so fast." he mumbled.
"It's because I'm mad at you."
He sat up and moved to face you. "I'm leaving for a month at most, I'll be back before you know it." he reassured you as he stroke the skin of your sides softly.
"You're, like, the only good thing I have gotten out of this school. What am I going to do without you?"
"You're so dramatic, it's almost cute."
"Almost?"
He huffed. "Don't make me say it."
You laughed and brought his face to yours to kiss him. Your moment was cut short when you heard a groan from the other side of the room. Dae lazily got up and glanced at the two of you, both in shame and in embarrassment. While Min Ho brought the covers back on his upper body and turned his face away, you got out of his grasp and walked to Dae.
"Good morning."
"Hey." he said in a small voice.
"I know it's not really my place to tell, but you two care for each other a lot. I think it's the least of things to fix your problems before he leaves."
He let out an exhale and nodded. You gave him an encouraging smile before announcing to Min Ho that you were going to the other two flatmates.
You were sure to have heard Kitty's voice earlier so you didn't know why you only found Q in the living room.
"Hey, where is Kitty?"
He put his phone away and smiled sadly. "She got caught... for living with us."
You brought your hand to your mouth. "She's getting expelled, isn't she?"
"We don't know yet."
You sat with him and patted his back in comfort. As the door to the boys' room opened, you were at least glad to see them calm and amicable. Min Ho wasn't one to show his feelings much, so you knew they apologized and cleared things up.
"I'll need help packing." he said to you.
"Ask someone else, it'll just remind me you are leaving." you fake-cried.
"Stop being like this, come on." he nodded his head back to his room.
You shook your head. "Can we do something first?"
"What?"
Packing could wait. Instead, you offered him to go take some fresh air. You didn't care if you had no plan prepared whatsoever, you just wanted one last sweet moment with him before he left. You led him to a spot where a blooming tree stood with a bench next to it. Laying your head on his shoulder, you sighed as you reminisced the past months in this school.
"You're sad."
You let out a chuckle. "Thank you, Mr. Obvious."
"Don't be."
"Easier said than done."
He lifted you chin up and kissed your forehead gently. "We're not breaking up. I'm only going to see my mom... I miss her a lot."
You sniffed. "I know, and I'm glad you're going to spend time with her. I... I wish I didn't hate you so much before. So we could have had more time together, you know?"
He patted your head slightly before putting his hand on your cheek. "I think we hated each other for a reason. I know for a fact I hated how you presented yourself as that perfect girl who is too attractive for her own good."
You frowned. "Is it really how people see me?"
He laughed. "I can't say for others, but for me yes. And you just had to be that mesmerizing, it scared me."
You nodded your head slowly. "I see. And how was it a good thing for us?"
"It only drew me to you more. And before I knew it, I couldn't get you off my mind."
You melted at his words. "Me too."
"And, so," he continued. "that means you won't be out of my head when I'm away."
"Got it." you chuckled. "It still sucks."
"I know. We'll call, don't worry. You're not getting rid of me so easily."
"Can I do something real cheesy? You have no right to laugh at me, though."
As much as you hated it, he was right. You had nothing to worry about.
He grinned, expectedly. "What is it?"
You took the ring on your thumb off and asked for his pinky. You carefully placed it on it as it fitted perfectly. He let out an exhale at the gesture. With no hesitation, he took one of his own rings off and put it on your thumb as it was too big for your other fingers. He placed a soft kiss on it, earning a giggled from you.
"I love you."
Your eyes automatically got filled with tears. "Not more than I do."
So, with a heavy heart, you helped him pack his things. You made sure he brought with him a few of the polaroid pictures you took together and made him promise he'd show you off to anyone he met there.
"I'll go get my skincare products." he said after he pecked your lips.
You finished off by zipping up his luggage and it felt odd to see his side of the room almost empty. You had packed your own things as well since you'd be moving back with your uncle and aunt for the winter break. You brought everything by the front door and he was in awe at the sight.
"You're too sweet. I could have done that myself."
You took his hand. "It's helping me cope."
"Sure." he laughed. "I have to say bye to the others."
You knocked at their door and opened it to see them have a moment of their own, Q almost crying. You immediately went to hug Kitty yourself.
"You're really not coming back?"
"I'm afraid I'm not."
You could only tighten your hug from her words. "I'm really going to miss you."
Min Ho hand shook with Q. "Cheers, dude. I'll see you after the break."
You broke away from Kitty and hugged Q in his turn. "I better see you next semester."
"You will, for sure."
Min Ho pulled you back into his arm and rubbed your shoulder lovingly. "She's a bit emotional today."
You slapped him on his chest and he answered with a kiss on your head.
"We had a good run, Covey. Be good." he waved at her.
"Thanks, Min Ho."
With that, you both took your things and went outside to wait for your own car to come. This was it, a last moment before you could see him again in a month. You could keep away from each other, only able to say sweet words and goodbyes with a few kisses here and there. Your car was the first to arrive.
"Hop on, little pup."
You rolled your eyes. "Says the one who wanted us to stop with this."
"No, you were right. It's cute."
You smiled and kissed him one last time while your driver put everything in the trunk. "Text me when you get there? Just to let me know you, unfortunately, didn't crash."
He let out a scoff. "Alright, Park. Be petty."
He hugged you tightly before helping you get in the car. You waved him off as the chauffeur drove away from him.
You watched the trees pass by a few minutes later, finally getting used to the idea of him being away. The sudden pings from your phone were ignored at first, until they became too persistent. With annoyed groan, you opened your message app.
Dami: Hi, Y/N. I hope I have the right contact.
Dami: I am Min Ho's mother, Dami.
Dami: I'm sure he mentioned me, he sure mentioned you a lot to me.
Dami: I'd love to surprise my son when he gets here, if you are interested to participate.
Dami: Can I give you a call?
Although he was in first class, Min Ho hated travelling for hours. Getting close to no sleep, having to go through security at the airport, all of it were nothing but stressful. As he finally got his baggage back, he cheered himself up mentally with the thought of seeing his mother again. He kind of wished you were with him, to meet his mom properly.
To no surprise, the only recognizable person he saw was his mother's assistant. She bowed at him as a greeting before indicating for men, who he assumed were bodyguards, to get his things for him. He was disappointed she didn't come to get him herself, but he understood she was a public personality.
He was glad that the ride to where his mother lived was quick and efficient with close to little, even none, traffic. The gates of the mansion opened and he immediately spotted her standing at her porch, a smile spread on her face.
"Mom." he said as soon as he got out of the car.
"My boy! I'm so happy you got here safely." she exclaimed before hugging him tight. "Are you feeling tired?"
"A little bit, but I'm just happy to see you."
"Me too."
She led him inside and showed him the main rooms of the house before they sat in the living room. She offered him a refreshing drink before she installed herself comfortably.
"How was school? Did you do well?"
He nodded proudly. "Yes. I had excellent grades and I'd say I did better than last year."
"I'm glad." she said cheerfully. "You got along well with your friends? Made some more?" He nodded again happily. "And what about Y/N?"
He froze. "What about her?"
He hadn't gone in details about his relationship with her. Sure, he told her they were seeing each other but things got in the way and they were too busy for him to explain how things evolved.
"Are you in love?"
His face flushed as he got embarrassed. "Ah... I think I am."
She clapped her hands in excitement. "You could have invited her here, I would have love to meet her."
"I couldn't do that. She has her family back there. Plus, I could've scared her off by inviting her so far away after such a short amount of time being together."
She smiled sadly. "What a shame."
"Yeah..." he trailed off. He couldn't quite believe he already missed you. "It really is."
"So how come was I able to fly her here before you arrived?"
His head shot up from his mother's words. Looking around, and then looking back at her, he scoffed.
"Don't pull a joke like that!" he complained.
"She's not kidding."
He almost jumped from the sound of your voice coming from behind him. His brain malfunctioned as he looked back and forth from his mom to you.
"You little-" he cursed before chasing you.
You ran away as you exploded in laughter. Being smaller and weaker than him, he caught you in no time before spinning you around.
"What the hell are you doing here?"
"Surprise?"
He huffed and put you down. "You're crazy. You've got your family to spend the holidays with."
You shrugged. "A free trip to LA on a private jet to see my boyfriend sounded like a better deal. And don't worry, my aunt and uncle know I'm here."
He grinned like a child before pulling you into a long-lasting kiss, not even caring that his mom was in the same room. After you broke away, he led you to sit down with him.
"You were right, Min Ho. I love her." Dami squealed.
He smiled and then moved his eyes to stare back at yours. They glowed like never before and he couldn't believe how you were so mesmerizing to him.
"I love her, too."

Oh you don’t say? Ok, fluffy one shot idea for you. Steve, backstage, when Eddie comes back from his First Ever Packed Show! “They really loved me Stevie!! 🥹🥹” excited and exhilarated and exhausted??
I saw this JUST before I was going to bed xD But I'll reply to it now. (other people feel free to send me things, not just my pal void! Also, go check out their writing). First ever packed show; Eddie was like a firework. His explosion of energy was evident, and the colour that came off of him was like catching wind in a sail. It just urged you forward. It was impossible not to be compelled by Eddie, and that was more than obvious as the roar of a full stadium reached Steve backstage. This wasn't Eddie's first show, but it was the first big league one. The stadium was sold out, and everyone here was screaming for Corroded Coffin. It was wild to think that the four men out there on the stage had come from little-town-nowhere and were now adored by hundreds. It was impossible not to adore Eddie. He knew how to put on a performance, and he knew how to engage the audience in a way that only a true showman could. Steve could never do something like that. He never wanted that much attention on him. He was proud of Eddie though, more proud than he could put into words. The band ran off-stage as the crowd continued to yell, the lights around them dimming as Steve already heard shouts for an encore. It didn't seem to matter how much the people adored Eddie though, because Steve could see that as soon as Eddie reached the wings he was looking around wildly for him. "Steve!" Eddie yelled, spying him against one of the back walls. He had chosen that spot to stay out of the Grips' way but hadn't wanted to go too far and miss the performance. "Present," Steve said, raising a hand and then opening his arms as he saw Eddie beelining it for him. Eddie was in his arms in a flash, throwing all of his weight on Steve as he latched on around his neck and hugged him tightly. He was damp with sweat and Steve couldn't help the involuntary 'ouph' that escaped him from the impact.
"Steve!" Eddie shouted again, pulling back to hold Steve's face in his hands. "Sold out, baby! Sold out! Did you see that? They love us--they freaking love us!" Eddie's smile was so brilliant that Steve was certain he could have lit up the whole solar system if he tried. His eyes were twinkling, and despite how exhausted he looked, there was an unbridled energy that hummed behind his expression. "I saw, I saw---" Steve chuckled, letting himself be manhandled. Eddie was like this after every show. His adrenaline was high, and his lust for life was like nothing else. He loved being famous. He loved performing, and Steve knew that he was meant to do it. Eddie was supposed to wow crowds and put on one of the best shows on the planet. "They're asking for an encore," Eddie said, nose to nose with Steve. His smile hadn't faded at all, and Steve felt the infectiousness of it as he grinned back. "Can't blame 'em," Steve replied with a laugh, holding Eddie around the waist. "You should get out there." "Don't go anywhere," Eddie said quickly, looking over his shoulder at the guys who were already standing in the wings, ready to head back out there. "I'll be right back. I'll---I'll be right back." Eddie kissed him hard on the mouth, and Steve hardly got the chance to kiss back before Eddie was rushing back toward the stage. It was hilarious to watch him stumble over himself and then try to look composed as he walked back out to a cheering crowd. Steve just smiled affectionately and wiped away the flecks of sweat and makeup that Eddie had gotten on his cheeks. This was par for the course, and Steve had to admit that he loved every second of being in Eddie's glow.

SAM POV
“Is there a faster setting for these windshield wipers? Cause these things are shit.” You asked Elle as you pulled into the tiny neighborhood in Cape Cod, peering through the thick falling raindrops to see if any of the buildings looked like the one in the Air BnB photos. You’d flown into Boston and rented a car, the perfect small-town birthday getaway, all planned by your lovely Elle.
“Oh, there it is, babe! That one on the corner. It says we can park on the street.” Elle said, pulling on the rain boots she’d ditched the minute you got in the car.
You pulled the car up as closely as you could to the front door of the tiny old house, situated perfectly on a row of about ten others that looked just the same. “It’s so cute!” Elle muttered.
“I can’t even see it, it’s raining so hard!” You yelled over the loud drops pounding on the sunroof. “Let’s wait a second while it calms down before we take everything inside.”
“Mmm…okay.” She complained.
“So anxious to get inside, babe…?” You said, running your hand over the back of her head.
“Maybe. Yes. I’ve just planned this so quickly in the last few days, thinking we were gonna be out on the road instead of getting to do something special. I just can’t believe we actually made it, is all.” She leaned back into your touch, calming her jittery and excited nerves.
You offered her a smile. “I’m excited too, babe. I can’t believe we made it either, honestly. And thank you, for planning this. You’re the best.” You sighed, watching as the rain let up a bit. “We should be soundchecking right now.”
“I’m sorry, love. I know you’d rather be out there playing.” She relented.
“No, no. Not rather. Not rather at all. It’s just you get yourself in this mindset to go and do something like that, it takes a long time to get yourself there. Then it just stops. But it’s okay, shit happens. Jake needs to heal more than anything. Top priority.” You said, giving her a little smile.
“Yes. Top priority. He will be okay, babe. Just needs some time.” She said, clicking the toes of her boots together. “Ready to go in now?”
——
You’d spent the afternoon making yourselves at home in the little house, a quaint place right on the water. The air still had a wintery feeling, but it didn’t stop the place from slowing down. You’d decided to take a walk down into town once the rain turned to a drizzle, seeing what all you could find in your short stay. It was straight out of a Hallmark movie; Main Street still bustled with people and tourists even this time of year.
You picked out a few spots you wanted to come back and visit, making mental note to remember them. Restaurants, record stores, gift shops…everything you needed in one little place.
It had gotten fairly late, and after a tiny takeout dinner, you had retreated to the oversized couch to watch a movie as you both let the jet lag set in.
“So tomorrow. Your birthday. You pick what we do, the whole day.” Elle said as the two of you cuddled up under a blanket when the movie was over.
“The whole day?” You said, scratching your peach fuzz.
“Yep. Morning into night.”
You picked her legs up from the floor and brought them to rest in your lap, massaging her muscles. “Hmm, well I think we should start off taking a shower, and you can wash my hair with that smelly-good stuff you have…” you let your hand travel up her leg, fingers digging into her thigh.
“Then we can walk down to that Bread & Roses place and get coffee…then spend the day just exploring, maybe go out on the boat and see the humpbacks…” your hand ghosted over the hem of her sweatpants, fingers slipping in just barely as she let her eyes bore into yours.
“Mmmhm, then what?” She said.
“Then we can come back and get ready for dinner, you can put on that sexy black dress I saw you put in your suitcase…” your hand snuck below her waistline now, hand grazing over her heat. She smirked hard.
“You saw that, huh?” She asked, clicking her tongue. “That was supposed to be a surprise, Sammy.”
“It still will be, baby. You never cease to surprise me. So then we can go get some seafood, and drink too much wine…” you watched as she began to lose composure at your touch, as you slipped a digit between her folds.
“Way too much wine…” she breathed, arching her back just a little.
“Wayyy too much…” you agreed, allowing your hand to go to work as you maintained eye contact.
“Then we can cuddle up right back here again, and do this again…and again and again…” you slipped your middle finger inside her as her legs fell open under the blanket, and her jaw fell slack.
You sat still, half of you wanting to grab her and take her into the bedroom, the other half wanting to sit here and undo her, with her completely at your will.
You watched as her hands stayed under the blanket, gripping your thigh underneath you. Her face was contorting into beautiful and blissed-out expressions as you worked, hooking your finger slowly deep inside her. “Again and again?” She panted.
“Uh huh, as many times as you want…” you replied, moving your thumb to make tiny swirls on her sweet spot.
“How’s that feel, baby? Feel good?” You asked her, voice low and gravely against the sound of the rain picking back up again.
“Yeah, feels so good…” she moaned a high pitched sound, letting you know she was enjoying herself. “But Sammy, it’s your birthday. You should be the one getting all the special treatment.”
“Eh, yeah maybe. But watching you like this…it’s it’s own special kind.” You began moving your pace a bit faster, adding another finger inside her.
Her head tilted back as her hands gripped your leg harder, completely falling apart right here on your lap. She hummed and gasped for air, her knees opening and closing over and over.
"Sammy, please…keep goi-"
“We’ve got three whole days for you to treat me, baby. Right? You gonna do that for me later, too?”
She nodded hard as her hips began to grind up into your hand. “Of course I will baby. Whatever you want. It’s all yours...” She brought her eyes to yours again, giving you a look that came straight from another world. God this woman…
You brought your face closer to hers, gritting your teeth. “You know what I want right now, Eleanor…go ahead and give it to me…” you growled in her ear.
Seconds later she was coming undone at your words, riding out her high as you continued to move your hand in and out of her, mouthfuls of pitiful words falling from her lips. You swear you could never get enough of her like that, and you weren’t sure you would ever get tired of it. Even if you got nothing in return, just watching her fall apart at your mercy was enough.
“Fuck Sam, that was…a welcome surprise.” She laughed, letting her arm fall over her eyes. “I like the idea of us just doing that kind of thing over and over and over again..” She sat up a bit, wrapping her arms around your neck. “What time is it?”
You clicked your phone screen on the table. “11:49.”
“Close enough.” She popped out from under the blanket, and dashed into the bedroom and then into the kitchen. You heard the refrigerator door open and close, and a few seconds later she was coming back into the room with a plate, with a lit candle sticking out of something on the top.
“Happy birthday to Sammy, happy birthday toooooo Sammy…” she sang, a giant smile on her face as she held her hand in front of the flame while she walked. She set the plate down in front of you. “Make a wish, silly!” She beamed.
You smiled hard at her, rubbing your hands together as you closed your eyes, making a scene out of making your wish.
For the love of all that is holy, please let this discussion I’m about to have with Elle go smoothly, please don’t let her leave me, and please help her to know that she’s the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me…
You opened your eyes, and blew out the candle. She clapped her hands and took the candle out, bringing the plate up in front of your face. You could hardly make out what it was in the dim light of the room.
“That smells amazing, what is that?” You asked.
“My granny’s old recipe for homemade cinnamon rolls!” She answered, running her finger along the top of it, taking some icing and licking it off.
“When did you make these?!” You asked.
“When you were out running errands the other day. Here, try some…” she handed you a fork and you both dug in.
“Holy shit, Elle. That’s the best fuckin thing I’ve ever eaten. Please marry me tomorrow.” You said with a full mouth.
She blushed hard. “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach!” She laughed, sitting back onto the couch and covering herself with the blanket. You placed the plate back on the table, and laid back with her.
You were trying your damnedest to find the right time to talk to her, tell her what you’d done. You knew it wasn’t going to be pretty, and you absolutely expected the worst. You deserved anything she threw your way, and you’d prepared yourself for her to pack her things and leave when you got back home.
But for right now, her yawns were becoming more and more frequent. And you decided it could wait until tomorrow. For now, you’d let yourself enjoy the peace of her presence, just for a little while longer.
“Happy birthday, Sammy.” She said as she gave you the sweetest look, adoration filling her to the brim. It hurt your heart, to know that tomorrow you’d probably be breaking hers.
——
The next morning you and Elle walked hand in hand along the beach, picking up shells as you sipped your coffees. It was chilly and breezy, and the beach wasn’t too crowded just yet. There was more rain in the forecast though, calling for heavy showers and colder temperatures all night.
“Oh my god babe, look!” You suddenly called out, picking a shell up from the sand and bringing it over to her. “It’s abalone! This is my favorite shell!”
You both examined it, cleaning off the bits of sand to let the iridescent rainbow colors shine through.
“Guidance.” Elle said.
“What?”
“These symbolize guidance, within like, relationships and love.” She went on, giving you a tiny sweet smile. “Are you looking for guidance with something, Sammy?”
Uh, fuck. Yeah, kinda. Wow.
You shrugged, gulping down a hard swallow. “Guess it’s always cool to have a little extra help from the…ocean, hah.”
Elle giggled. “So how does 23 feel?” She asked, pushing her heavy waves behind her ear. The oversized sweater she had on was draping over her shoulder, sitting perfectly on her tiny frame.
“Feels like 22 but cooler.” You answered, kicking through the icy water, sticking the abalone in your pocket. “How is 24?”
“It’s the best year I’ve had yet.” She smiled, always being the glass half-full type of person.
“It has been a good year, hasn’t it?” You answered. “Except for, well, our most recent bummer. Hopefully this doesn’t set the pace for the rest of tour…”
“I hope not.” Elle went on. “You wanna walk down to the pier and get a sandwich or something?”
The two of you made your way to get lunch, stopping at little gift shops along the way. You’d ended up underneath the pier after you ate, the air slowly getting cooler as a drizzle blew in. Elle was standing next to one of the pier beams, looking at all the clusters of barnacles stuck to the sides.
“Elle sells sea shellllls…” you sang as you approached her. “Ew, that’s gross. What are all these things?” You asked, flicking away at some of the crusty old growths.
“Don’t take them off! They’ll die if you remove them!” Elle swatted your hand away.
“Shit, my bad.” You hopped back, hands up in surrender.
“Look, babe…” she pulled her arm in front of her, gently grabbing a tiny shell from the cluster. “Ammonite…” she said, bringing it close to her face.
“Well great, now it’s gonna die!” You complained.
“No, this isn’t a barnacle, dummy. It’s an ammonite shell. Do you know how rare these are? And look, it’s opalized…” She said quietly, the wind blowing her hair in front of her face.
“No, I don’t guess… how do you know all this stuff?” You inquired, truly impressed that she did. “You didn’t even grow up near the ocean…”
“I know a lot of cool things, Sammy.” She said blankly, still closely inspecting the perfect spiral shell, in pure awe that she found it.
“Why don’t you keep it? I can make you a necklace or something out of it.” You suggested.
“Really? Can you?” She said, finally smiling.
“Sure. Couldn’t be too hard. Little dremel action. I’ll figure it out.” You promised her. You knew you’d give her anything in the world if it meant she’d give you that sweet smile again.
“I’ll wear it every single day. Never take it off.” She said, slipping it in her coat pocket for safe keeping.
“And what does the mighty ammonite shell symbolize, oh Wise Knower of All Things Ocean?” You teased.
She rolled her eyes and laughed again. “Change. Just, change.”
——
The rain was falling heavier now, as you and Elle munched on your seafood takeout, opting to stay in with your dinner and wine instead of going out. She’d set the table nicely, lit candles and transferred all the food from the to-go boxes onto nice plates. You cracked a few windows, letting the smell of the rain mixed with the ocean air blow in slightly through the house. You were nearing the bottom of your first bottle of Chardonnay, fully intending on starting the second bottle the minute it was empty.
“Babe, you didn’t have to put the sexy black dress on, I was just kidding.” You joked.
She scoffed. “Of course I did, it’s your birthday. Gotta wine you, dine you, and give you a show. What kind of girlfriend would I be if I didn’t?”
You giggled. “I’m also glad you got oysters. You know what they say abou-”
“Sam. We all know. You say it every single time we eat oysters…” she rolled her eyes as she sipped her wine.
“What? No I don’t, it’s true though…” you defended yourself.
“I know it is.” She sighed. “That’s why I ordered them.”
“That’s my girl…” you gave her a flirty and devilish laugh. “You’re already killing me in that dress, it’s…truly something. Hope these oysters work their fuckin’ magic…” you said.
She stood from the table, swishing her hips from side to side, knowing she was giving you a show. “All finished, Samuel?” She asked in a sultry voice as she leaned down low, putting her boobs in your face as she took your plate.
“Yes…all done…” you were quickly falling into her trap, getting more turned on with every passing second just by watching her.
“I’ll do the dishes later, we’ve got other things to attend to, hm?” She said, walking back over and straddling you in the chair. She brushed your hair back, hands wrapped around your face as she took you in. Finally she connected her lips to yours, brushing her wine-soaked tongue into your mouth. Her hands wrapped around your head and your neck as she started kissing you harder, giving you immediate indication of exactly what she wanted. God, you were already so turned on, but, you were also bursting at the seams to tell her. You had to talk to her, right now.
You pulled away quickly. “Stop. Elle, stop.”
“What, babe? What’s wrong?” She said, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand.
You began to stand the two of you up, hand in hand, walking to the couch to grab the blanket and lead her into the sunroom. The wall was nothing but big windows, a perfect view of the now stormy waves blowing up onto the beach. There was another giant couch in here, plush and white and covered with pillows. You sat down, motioning for her to join you.
She sat, and you threw the big blanket across you again. “What is it, Sam? You’re scaring me. Is something wrong?”
“No. Well, yes. Yeah, actually.” You took a breath as you took her hands under the blanket, preparing yourself for the storm that was about to hit. The guilt was eating you alive.
“Elle, you know I love you more than anything, anything in the entire world, right?” You prefaced, looking her directly in the eyes.
“Yeah, I know. God Sam, what? What is it?” She asked, anxiety setting in.
“Just let me…” you huffed, running a hand over your face. “That night, in Vegas. I, uh. I did something really bad, Elle.” You felt a lump form in your throat, watching as her eyes filled with dread.
“After Jake left, and you got sick and went to sleep, um. Y/N and I went to smoke, and…things kind of…”
“No, Sam. No…don’t…” she said, letting go of your hands.
You stayed steadfast in your confession. “We hooked up, Elle. Behind your backs. I did it, and…I have no excuse at all. It just… happened. And we both had immediate, immediate regret. It was the most stupid decision I’ve ever made in my life, Elle. And I can never take it back. I will never forgive myself, ever. You don’t deserve that, you never did. And I put our relationship in jeopardy. After everything we built. And I’m so, so sorry baby.” You began to cry a little, seeing the look on her face. She stayed silent.
“I’m so sorry. I should have told you immediately after it happened. But I’m stupid, I guess. I don’t expect you to forgive me. Hell, ever. But I just… wanted to tell you. I couldn’t lie to you any more.” You bit your lips together as the tears fell. You felt relief, but not the good kind.
After a few seconds of hell, she finally spoke. “Does Jake know?”
You nodded. “Yeah, he knew the night it happened. I’m so sorry Elle. They both begged me to tell you, even threatened to do it themselves. But I made them promise me they wouldn’t. It had to come from me.”
"So you lied to me, all that time. All the times we had sex…you told me you loved me, you…” she shook her head, standing from the couch. “You lied to me, Sam. For a good while, why did you-"
“I’m so sorry Elle. Yes I did, I lied to you. And I…I don’t know why I did. I guess I just, everything with Jake happened so fast, and it was so scary, and I was in a weird headspace with that, and worrying about him. And then tour got postponed, I just– I should have told you. As soon as it happened. And I apologize for making that horrible decision. It was thoughtless, Elle. And you don’t deserve that. Neither does Jake.”
She shook her head, letting everything hit her as she sat back down on the other end of the couch. She wiped away a few stray tears. “I think I need a minute. Can you…”
“Yes. Whatever you need. Just, come back to me, soon. Please Elle. Please don’t leave.” You begged, walking slowly to her and holding out your hand. She didn’t grab it. She looked away, pulling a pillow from the stack and curling her body around it, looking out the windows as the rain pounded.
Fuck.
What now?
You retreated back into the kitchen, blowing out the candles and closing the windows. You kept your mind distracted and your hands occupied, cleaning up the table and doing the dishes. You cleaned the entire kitchen, wiped down the counters and even scrubbed the sink.
She just needs a minute. Just needs some time.
After you cleaned until there was not a thing out of place, you grabbed your acoustic from the case in the bedroom, sitting back on the couch in the living room to play a little, hoping it’d bring you some solace.
What came out first was the Age of Machine riff that you wrote so long ago, on a rainy day just like this one. You remembered the day you played it for Jake, thinking it was just going to be something he brushed off.
“Wait, wait…what was that? Do that again.”
“That’s fuckin' scary, Sam. God damn…let’s keep going with it.”
Your fingers plucked away as your mind raced over what had just happened. Was she crying? Should you go in there? Then it hit you, her favorite song.
You began to strum the first few chords of Anthem, hoping she’d hear and come back in and be ready to talk. You hummed along, remembering again when you all wrote it. How simple it was. No frills, nothing fancy. Just good guitar, simple percussion, and really powerful lyrics.
You played for a long while, moving then into something else entirely, big foreboding bellowing sounds then tight and cheery ones, letting the thoughts running through your mind come out through your hands. Darkness fell completely in the house, and you started to worry about Elle, and if she would ever come back.
“Sammy.” You finally heard. You popped up, turning around on the couch to face her.
She walked over slowly, eyes puffy and red and face swollen with tears. She sat carefully on the edge of the couch as you sat up, wanting nothing more than to console her.
“I was going to sleep with Jake that night.” She said finally.
“Uh, yeah? You…you were?” You were caught off guard, knowing that that night had gotten really wild really fast; you knew that while you were busy with Y/N, Jake and Elle were entertaining themselves. You remembered though, not harboring much feeling about it.
“Yes. We talked about it. We were going to…because we assumed you guys were going to, too. Well, at least I assumed…” she scooted a little closer to you as you listened. “Jake and I were…very close that night. And I even texted him and apologized for coming on too strong. But, then Josh called, and I got sick…”
“Yeah, yeah baby that’s exactly how it went. And that’s when I made my decision.” You answered.
“Sam, stop.” She shook her head. “I’m not mad at you, really. I’m… very disappointed. That you lied. Y/N too. My best friend, your best friend.” You nodded. “But that night was so crazy, so uninhibited, we were all, all over the place…I’m sure you were all surprised at me and Y/N taking things where we did, and that’s something else I never really talked to you about. We never…none of us ever talked it through. I guess I know why now…”
“Jake, was he…?” She asked.
“Pissed? Yeah, unbelievably so. Elle, they aren’t together anymore. They’ve been broken up for about a month. Well, since that night. They’ve been lying to us all to keep morale up, keep things normal. But, yeah. They broke up.” You explained.
“What?” She said. “No, fuck! God, Sam. What on earth…”
You nodded, feeling sad for them, too.
“When I texted Jake to apologize, he didn’t tell me that. He barely even remembered he and I being so…close. Sam, if things hadn’t gotten stopped, I was…” she caught her words, shaking her head as she tried to speak. “I was going to ask your permission. I was going to see if you were going to be with Y/N. Because I was going to be with Jake.”
Hm. Okay, well. This conversation wasn’t on your bingo card for the night of your 23rd birthday.
You leaned back on the couch. “What a fucked up situation.” You relented. “But, you aren’t mad at me? How is that even right, Elle? I cheated on you.”
“Yeah, you did. And fuck you for that, truly.”
Deserved that.
“Absolutely, yes. Keep cussing me out. Fight me, slap me if you want. Catch a plane and leave, go back home and pack your things, I get it. I deserve that, because I don’t deserve you, and your heart, Elle. Your big, beautiful, smart, intense and over caring heart. You’re a million times the person that I could even think about being. Just when I think I have shit figured out, you always come and knock me on my ass with something better. You make me want to be better, Elle. All the time.”
“When I’m challenged with something, anything at all, I literally ask myself, ‘What would Elle do?’ I swear to god I do that at least once a day. You inspire the ever living fuck out of me. You make me laugh, because you’re always so unapologetic about being your pure self. When you left, that first time, I swear I didn’t know how I was going to make it. You disappeared, and I was lost for so long, Elle. And when you came back, god, it was like I was whole again.”
You held your head in your hands, listening as a low roll of thunder rumbled in the distance. You thought about Y/N, and how for the longest time, both of them took up space in your mind. Your feelings for them were the same, in love with two people at once. But then, out of nowhere, it hit you.
You moved to Elle, taking her hands in yours. “When I picture my future, when I’m older and we slow down, or whatever. It’s always you there with me. It always has been. Watching Jake in that hospital bed, and watching him fight to breathe as they took him away, his face turning blue and purple as he reached for me, it kinda. Ah, it…” You felt tears beginning to come, now. You hadn’t told Elle about that yet. She squeezed your hands again as you pinched the bridge if your nose, pushing that visual away.
“I watched him go through something that I should have never seen, Elle. It kinda made me realize what’s important in life, cheesy as that sounds. And later he told me that he saw nothing but Y/N’s face as he was blacking out. It made me start thinking…” you were crying hard now. “If that were me, I would see your face. I’d want to see yours. The last person I’d think about, it would be you.”
She sighed deeply as she dried your tears. “Sammy, babe…”
“I love you, Elle. Way too much. So much that it scares me, sometimes. Because…I don’t know what to do with my emotions. You make me feel a way that I’ve never ever felt before. And it’s terrifying. And I run from it. I don’t know why, but I do. Maybe that’s why I made the decision that I did that night. Because I still didn’t want to admit it to myself.”
“Admit what, Sam?”
You took her chin in your hand, bringing your face close to hers.
“That I meant what I said when I was eating that cinnamon roll last night.” You said nervously, every nerve ending in your body on fire.
Finally, finally, she laughed. Rolled her body back on to the couch and laughed. In absolute stitches.
“I’m not marrying you tomorrow, Sam.”
You giggled at her display, feeling like three million pounds had been lifted from your body. You chased her, laying over top of her on the couch, bringing your faces close together as she brought you into her embrace.
“No, not tomorrow…”
——
The storm had intensified, thunder and lightning coming every minute now. You and Elle had spent the last half hour curled up with each other, doing nothing at all but being intimate. Talking, laughing, apologizing and explaining…you let more secrets be shared with her that night than you had ever shared with her before. You got down into the roots of some things, telling her detailed stories and experiences, and letting her know how much you cared for her.
It felt like you had reconnected with her on a cellular level, somehow, and you were thanking your lucky stars that she even was letting you sit with her. It was definitely not how you saw your night going when all of this began. Maybe blowing out that candle really worked.
“Can I kiss you, Elle?”
The very fiber of your being felt like it had been reset, all the reasons you loved her flowing back through your body like a flooding river. The way she kissed you back, the way she touched you, felt like the very first time. You didn’t deserve this…
“I’m nervous, for some reason…”
You picked her up and carried her slowly to the bedroom, never disconnecting from her lips the entire way. You laid her gently on the old mattress, the iron bed frame squeaking as she fell. She still had her black dress on; it accentuated her curves so perfectly and was cut right at her mid thigh…she slid one strap down, pulling it to sit low on her shoulder, before pulling the whole dress down and off, revealing her black lace set. She made intense eye contact with you, bringing her knees toward her chin as she reclined on her elbows.
“Stop giving me those eyes, Eleanor…you know I can’t say no when you do that…”
“Then don’t tell me no…”
You reached down and took your boxers off, letting them fall to the floor as you inched yourself toward her on the bed. You were positively dizzy, the feeling of her skin on yours igniting you into a fire that blazed differently than it ever had before. Her mouth connected to yours in such a way that felt like you were bonded together, feeling every tiny touch and movement as if it were magnified. You were still anxious, nervous for some reason. Like you were about to sleep with her for the very first time. But she comforted you, kissed your sweet spots, walked you through learning her body again.
“Don’t be nervous, Sammy. It’s just me…it’s okay…”
“I know, baby..but the way you touch me sometimes…god.. I swear I could love you all day, and all night for the next hundred years and I’d still never get tired of you…”
It was something brand new. She pushed you back into the pile of pillows, crawled over top of you and flipped herself around with her back to you as she straddled your lap. What a fucking view. She leaned down and connected her sweet mouth to you, licking and pulling and pushing, hands in a soft fury to prepare you for her. Your hands reached down and pulled at her hair, directing her throat to be just where you needed her without forcing her…in and out…her mouth was pure euphoria..hot and wet euphoria.
“You not gonna touch me, Sam?”
Her free hand reached back and ran a finger along the lace barely covering her ass, pulling it to one side as she invited you to touch her. You pulled it more to one side, and her back arched hard for you, revealing her dripping entrance as she continued to close her throat around you. You brought your hand to her, feeling her wetness soak your fingers. “Mmhm…” she hummed around you, causing your dick to jump in her mouth. “Keep feeling me Sam, keep touching me like that…”
The visual was insane, the lightning like camera flashes into the room, each time burning the erotic images into your mind. Your fingers were working her, deep and slow as she hummed her lips around you, bringing you closer and closer…you were sure you’d never felt her like this ever before.
“So gorgeous, my Eleanor…your mouth feels so fucking good baby…”
She arched more for you as her mouth popped hard off the top of your dick, the loss of contact almost bringing tears to your eyes. “Need you to fuck me into this mattress, Sam. Can you break my back, baby?”
You were putty. Melting and running all over the place. You pulled her back, disconnecting her mouth from you as you brought your tongue to her entrance, suddenly feeling the need to taste her. So fucking delicious. You let your tongue delve into her as far as it could go, reaching into her as she pushed herself backwards onto your face.
“Fuck, Sammy…yeah…”
She was whining as you ate her, flipping and flitting your tongue into her as the thunder rolled louder now. Right as you felt her body begin to shake, you repositioned yourself, standing high on your knees behind her as you pulled her panties to the side again, ripping them just a tad in the process. You teased her, the head of your dick begging to push all the way into her, fill her up with everything you had.
“Do it, Sammy please…I can’t wait any longer, fuck…”
She buried her head in the bed, her hands reaching into her hair to grasp it. “Huh uh, my job…” you fisted her hair, tightening it around your hand and pulling her head back slowly, but forcefully as you slowly entered her. Thick and sticky and so ready for you, she felt like heaven. Her sounds alone were enough to get you there, so you pulled back harder. “Arch it for me baby, I know you can do it…”
Her body was at an almost 90 degree angle as you fucked slowly and languidly into her, pushing as deeply as you could go, one hand tangled in her hair and the other pulling on her hip…giving you leverage to move her into just the right spot. She spread her legs a little, lowering herself into the bed a bit more, and allowing her to fuck back into you.
You both were moving slowly, her body dipping low with each thrust and meeting you perfectly as you hit her g spot. “Don’t fucking stop, Sam…right…fucking…there…” she was whining, mewling and purring sounds into the air.
“You want it harder, baby? Think you can take it?” You asked as she nodded. The thunder was clapping now as her asscheeks hit your thighs repeatedly, her muscles flowing like shockwaves with each hit.
You pulled yourself out, earning a groan of displease from her. Hand still tangled in her hair, you stood from the bed and pulled her along with you, walking her to the wall by the bed. You gently pushed her against it, letting her cheek fall flat against the white paint. You lifted her left leg up, hitching the back of her knee in the crease of your elbow.
“Spread for me, babe. There you go…”
And you entered her again, pushing her into the wall. She was considerably tighter like this, and the new position garnered you almost complete control. She was almost unable to move at all. But her sounds continued to fill the room…you knew she was loving it just as much as you were.
“I’m close, baby…almost there…” she said, breathless and sweaty as you fucked up into her.
“Hang on, go with me…I’m right there too…goddamn you’re so fucking tight…”
Your name poured from her mouth as you poured into her, bodies shaking together as you pressed your front against her, her forehead rolling against the sheetrock. When your head came back into one piece, and her body stopped jerking, you snuck your hand around in front of her, between her legs, finding her clit and immediately rubbing small circles.
You went insane on it, flicking it from side to side as you continued to press her into the wall, your still-hard dick resting comfortably inside her. Her cries sounded almost close to tears. You kissed the back of her neck, biting into it as you felt her writhing again.
It surprised her, the overstimulation making her shudder. Her body stiffened as you worked your middle finger over her already swollen bud, begging her to let go again. Her walls were still squeezing around you, still inside her. You almost felt like you could let go again, yourself.
“I know you’ve got another one in there, baby. Let me have it…give it to me again…”
Her hand reached behind her and grasped your shoulder, pulling your torso against her back, fingers digging into your shoulder muscle like she was holding on for dear life.
Within seconds she was soaking your dick all over again, her knees threatening to buckle as she doubled over. Her cries were almost pathetic, shrieking and breathless as she came again.
“There it is, just for me…so gorgeous Eleanor…” you growled into her ear.
When she finally came back to life, you pulled yourself out of her, but still kept a firm hold around her limp body, walking her carefully back over as you both crashed back onto the bed in pure exhaustion.
After a few minutes, she perked up lying on her elbow, looking at you with so much love in her eyes.
“What?” You asked, smirking as you rolled to rest on your elbow too.
“Do you really want what you asked me while you were eating the cinnamon roll?” She peeked through one eye. Her words made your stomach drop and your mouth go dry.
“Yeah, I do. One day, down the road. I can picture it…” you rolled over to your back, looking at the ceiling. “Three kids, maybe four. All really close in age, so they can grow up together like we did. I want to find a big house with a bunch of land, so I can have a massive garden. And a bunch of dogs. Giant kitchen with tons of windows…and all four of my pianos in different rooms. I’m gonna teach all the babies how to play every instrument that I can, whatever they want to learn. The house will be filled with music all the time. And I wanna write songs about them, and for them…that’s what I want.” You huffed a breath, looking back over to her.
“And you know what the best part will be?” You asked.
“Tell me.”
“That you’ll be making those cinnamon rolls for us every week…all the time…the kids will love them…” you brought yourself over to kiss her. “And they’ll love you… and I’ll love you…until we’re old and gray, baby. Until the day you tell me not to. I promise. I promise, I promise…”

JAKE POV
You hear her alarm go off on her phone, startling you from your sleep. Her face turned towards you as her own eyes fluttered open. She squeezed them back shut as she reached over to snooze her phone. You smile realizing it’s another morning you’ve woken up and she’s still in bed.
It’s warm under the sheets, you don’t blame her for not wanting to leave. If it were up to you the two of you would stay cocooned in the sheets all day. She throws her arm over her eyes blocking out the morning light, trying to get those five extra minutes. You lay there just looking at her, watching the rise and fall of her chest as she fights to get back to her dream.
Minutes later when her alarm sounds again, she rolls over towards it and groans, grabbing it from the charger and laying it on her chest.
You reach your hand out and place it on her arm, “You better get moving baby, Josh will be here soon.”
“I know, but I am so tired, we stayed up too late watching last night. I fell asleep in here, again.”
“We can take a break from watching if you want to.” you offer.
“No! I mean, we don’t have to. I just need to force myself out of here.” she giggles.
“Every night I ask you if you want me to take you back in there and you say no…You say you want to stay…” you goad.
“Ugh, I know Jake, sue me…” she says, tossing the blankets off of her, and standing from the bed.
“Don’t be like that…You know I don’t want you to anyways. Like waking up to your face.” you smile.
She steps into the bathroom and shuts the door; your signal to start the coffee before she has to leave. It had been several nights since the family dinner and each one of them was spent twisted together watching a TV show until the both of you fell asleep. At least that was your excuse for it.
As the coffee pot started to gurgle, you grabbed a to-go mug, and waited for the pot to finish brewing. You leaned against the counter, scrolling through your phone as she stepped into the kitchen. She was in a pair of crimson colored leggings, and had on a sports bra that matched. Her hair was in a high ponytail braid down her back, resting just at the criss crossed straps of her sports bra. Shit she looked practically edible.
She had your flannel tossed into the bag hanging from her shoulder, and her birkenstocks in her hands, dropping them to the floor to slide into them as she approached you.
“Again, is there any type of viewing package at the yoga place.” you said, pouring the coffee into the mug.
“No, Jacob…” she says, rolling her eyes and reaching out to grab the mug from your hands.
You look at her again, somewhat jealous that Josh gets to spend the morning with her, looking like that. Fucker.
“I will be back after, okay?” she said, spinning on her heels.
“Hey, wait…” you asked.
You swallowed nervously as you grabbed her free hand in yours, “You wanna go do something tonight?”
She furrowed her brow, “Like what?”
“Something fun, just us. Like we used to.” you offer, feeling your heart beat out of your chest.
“Oh, like a date?” she smiles.
“Do you want it to be a date?” you ask hopefully.
“Yeah, I think I’d like that.” she grins, squeezing your hand.
“Okay, yeah, then like a date.” you say, releasing her hand.
You see Josh’s car pull up through the front door window, and look back to her, “Your ride is here…Be careful okay, check your surroundings…all of that…”
“Okay, I will I promise and Josh is with me. But…I’m excited… for tonight.” she smiles walking down the hallway. You are right behind her, ready to close the door, but as she slips out she spins around and places a barely there kiss on your cheek. “See you later…”
You smile as you watch her ponytail swing as she jumps into the passenger seat of Josh’s car, waving through the window as they pull away.
—
You spend much of the morning racking your brain for ideas of what the two of you could do tonight. You’d never felt so much pressure planning a date before, but then you realized. It’s Y/N, she won’t care what you’re doing as long as it’s you she’s doing it with. You knew just what to do, and you knew she would love it.
You grab a quick shower and dig through your closet, looking for something to wear down to the studio. Today would be your first meeting back with the guys to start practicing for the South American leg of tour starting up. You were itching to get your hands back on your guitar, ready to turn the amps to one hundred and just rip for a few hours.
Shortly after 11:00 you heard the front door open, and heard her setting her things in the hallway, kicking off her shoes.
“Jake?” she called.
“Up here!” you called out to her from the music room, checking out the strings on your guitar.
You hear her climb up the steps and round the corner, still looking gorgeous as ever.
“I’m back…” she giggled.
“I see that.” you smile, twisting the knob on the headstock.
“You excited to go play today?” she asked, leaning against the wall.
“Hell yeah, but you know what?” you asked.
“What?”
“I’m more excited for after…” you smiled.
“Yeah? What should I wear on my date with Mr. Jacob Kiszka this evening?” she smiles.
“Mmm…” you hum, rubbing your lips, “A dress. But bring a sweater or something.” you answer.
“I think I can work with those requirements… I’m gonna go take a shower, but, have fun today and don’t over do it, okay?” she pleads.
“I won’t, I won’t, promise.” you answer, sliding your guitar back into the case, and locking it.
“I’ll see you tonight?” she asks.
“Not soon enough.” you smile, watching her blush and run down the stairs.
Your phone buzzes in your pocket and as you pull it out you see a familiar name cross the screen.
misscarsonneely: Guitar question? I’m sure you’re never going to see this.
You smirk, it is a miracle you saw it.
You: I probably have an answer…
misscarsonneely: Wow, I can’t believe you saw this. Okay, so I have been feeling a little inspired lately and decided to put those new strings to use, but when I play it sounds…bad? Like off kind of? Maybe I just suck? Lol.
You smile and laugh, knowing exactly what the problem is.
You: I usually never check my messages to be honest, surprised I saw it too. How about you text me instead. I’ll get you fixed up.
You send her your number and wait for her message to come through, adding the new contact to your phone.
Carson
11:23pm: Have I reached the guitar guru hotline?
You
11:24pm: You have. So I think what you are describing is it being out of tune which happens sometimes when you put higher tension strings on. Could you maybe send me a video so I can be sure?
Carson
11:28pm: Do NOT laugh at me, it is the only song I know.
11:28pm: *Attachment*
You open the video and let it play, stifling back the laugh that escapes you when you hear ‘Cheeseburger in Paradise’ ringing out terribly through the speaker.
You
11:30pm: Okay, yes. So the strings I put on your guitar are all I had to choose from, and they are high gauge and high tension so they are putting your guitar under a little more stress than it's used to, so it is spinning the knobs itself to release that tension and its causing your guitar to lose its tuning. It’s probably going to do that a few times until the strings are settled, so just re-tune your guitar and you should be set. Well, until next time. ;)
Carson
11:32pm: I swear I’m not an idiot. I really did tune it yesterday and it sounded fine so when I picked it up today and it sounded like that I never thought that maybe it was just out of tune. God I’m sorry I bothered you with that.
You
11:35pm: No, I know you’re not. You just aren’t used to those type of strings. Asked Sam to grab some to give to Josh, and that's probably all I had in my kit.
Carson
11:36pm: And I appreciate it soo much. Thank you again for doing that.
You
11:37pm: My pleasure Miss Carson, let me know if you need help with anything else.
Carson
11:38pm: Thanks Jake. Promise I won’t bug you with more stupid questions. Lol
You
11:39pm: I can assure you you’re not bugging me. Not in the slightest.
Carson
11:40pm: Good to know ;)
You stare at the message for a bit before locking your phone and shoving it into your pocket. You grab your guitar case and make your way downstairs, grabbing your keys and heading out the door, set for the studio feeling happier than you had in weeks.
—
It felt good to be back to it. God it felt good. But it felt even better knowing you’d be back on the road soon. As much as you were enjoying your time at home with Y/N you craved to be out seeing the world. And it was even better when she was there with you.
You started small, playing through a few songs, working your stamina back up to what it was. You had another week or two before you left for South America and you were convinced that if you just came in and did a little bit everyday, you would be back to where you were. Almost like muscle memory.
After a particularly long jam session you checked your phone seeing that it was damn near time to leave to make it home in time to get ready for your date.
You slung your guitar strap over your head and turned off your amp, unplugging the pick up and beginning to pack up your things.
“Damn Jake, what lit a fire under your ass?” Sam asked.
“I gotta get out of here. Have plans tonight.” You replied flicking your glasses down over your eyes.
“With who…” Danny winked.
“Your motha…” you said in your best British accent.
“Good. Go. In fact what the fuck is taking you so long? Get outta here…” Josh said, shooing you out the door.
You turned to the guys and offered them a quick wave as you stepped out the door ready to wine and dine your favorite girl.
—
You stepped into the front door and deposited your guitar case against the wall, calling her name through the echoey house.
When you heard no answer you called out again, “Y/N? Where are you my love?”
“Jake?” She said, stepping out into the hallway as she fastened her earring. You nearly stopped breathing at the sight of her.
“Sorry babe, didn’t hear you come in!” She smiled walking over towards you.
“Is this okay?”’she asks, running her hands over her navy blue dress nervously before looking up at you.
“Everyday I think there’s no way you could possibly be more beautiful and everyday I wake up to just that. You look gorgeous.” You say, seeing the blush creep across her face.
“Jake…” she whines.
“It’s true. I’m going to change clothes and then I will be ready to go, okay? Why don’t you have a glass of wine and I’ll be out in a minute.” You say.
She nods and flits off to the kitchen as you turn on your heels heading for the bedroom. You had stewed over what to wear for your date all morning, finally deciding on a pair of pinstripe slacks and a black button up. You knew she liked it, and she was always particularly handsy when it came to you leaving your shirts open, so it seemed like the natural choice.
You kick off your jeans and your t-shirt and throw them in the hamper, hearing a knock on the closet door. You spin around and see her standing with a wine glass extended towards you.
“Can’t drink alone…” she coos.
You take the glass and laugh, “You’re not supposed to see me like this until after, baby….”
A short and sweet ‘hm’ leaves her lips as she spins away to let you finish dressing. You sip the red wine and feel your insides warm as you fasten the bottom buttons of your shirt. You slide on your slacks and a pair of loafers before picking a necklace from your wall.
You give yourself a once over in the mirror and step into the bathroom to spritz yourself with cologne, taking a deep breath and tossing back the rest of the glass of wine.
She’s sitting on the couch in the study, lazily scrolling through her phone as she sees you step out. Her eyes scan over you top to bottom lighting your chest on fire. Her gaze grows dark and she bites her lips together stifling back the words that want to escape.
Reaching a hand towards her, you ask, “Ready my love?”
—
“Two for Jacob…” you said to the hostess. She grabbed two menus and guided the two of you to a small candle lit table in the corner of the restaurant.
You pulled her chair out for her, letting her sit before pushing her in. You took the chair across from her, laying your napkin across your lap as she perused the drink menu.
“Can’t believe you got us a reservation here last minute… you know this is my favorite place in the city.” She smiled shyly.
“I know it’s your favorite and when I called earlier to see if they had any availability tonight I wasn’t hopeful but by some stroke of luck…” you trailed off. “Anyways, I’m happy they got us in. Fate I guess.” you smiled.
“Thank you, Jake… for doing all of this. For planning this and asking me…” She said.
“Of course baby, wish we could go out more. But I was thinking, how about when we are out on the road, you and I sneak off and find somewhere cool to eat in the long stop cities. Just us. Keep working on us…” you say, reaching for her hand. She laces her fingers with yours and you smile feeling her hand in yours.
She nods her head excitedly, rubbing her thumb over yours.
“Okay good. Can’t imagine being on the road without you, you know. Want to see the world with you.” you admit, seeing her eyes grow teary.
“Me too, Jake.”
A few minutes later the waiter arrived to take your drink orders, both of you opting for specialty cocktails, sure to have both of you feeling more relaxed in a matter of minutes.
As they arrived you tapped your glass to hers, “To our first date…” you smirked.
“And hopefully not the last…” she replied with a playful smile.
You both sipped your drinks, carrying on normal conversation and talking about all the cities you’d be traveling to in the upcoming months. You both ordered your food, and as you waited you checked the time on your phone to make sure you were still looking good.
“Have a hot date?” she asked with a smirk.
“Sure fuckin’ do…” you grin, “I was just making sure we’re good on time. Our next activity starts at a very specific time…”
“Oh, we are doing something else?” she asks.
“Yep, this is going to be a proper first date. When we are done here I am taking your to the movies, where I am going to spend half of it working up the courage to hold your hand.” you say.
“Oh gosh, well I will make sure I position my hand on the armrest just right to make it not look super obvious that I want you to.” she laughs.
“Can’t wait.” you smile.
“What movie are we seeing?” she asks.
“Well, that was the hard part. There were hardly any options. We have tickets for The Northman. I know it’s not really your thing but we can pick another if you don’t want to see that.” you offer.
“Jake…Do you think we’ve been watching The X-Files every night because I am really into alien mystery shows?” she asks.
“Um…” you hum.
“We could be watching Antiques Roadshow and I wouldn’t miss a single night…” she says.
“And why’s that Y/N…” you coax.
“You know why.” she smiles shyly.
“Tell me, I want to hear you say it.
“Because I just want to be there with you. Lay with you…Want to feel you run your fingers over my arms, and hear your laugh, and feel you twirl my hair between your fingers and kiss my head when you think I’m asleep.”
“So you aren’t leaving on purpose.” you smile.
“Absolutely on purpose.” she smiles.
“So don’t.” you reply, locking eyes with her across the table.
You feel her foot brush your leg and you swallow back the overwhelming urge to kiss her, and thankfully the waiter arrives with your food, putting a stop to your sudden urge.
The two of you continue to talk as you enjoy your food, downing another drink and sharing a few more laughs. You check your phone again, and see that you are right on time, as long as the bill comes in the next few minutes.
With the sign of your name on the line and the toss of a few bills on the table you are walking hand in hand down the sidewalk towards the movie theater, buzzing from the alcohol flowing through your body.
“Does my date require any concessions?” you ask, playfully.
“No your date is miserably full from dinner, but if you want something you should get it! I can’t even remember the last time you went to the movies.” she says.
“I can’t remember the last time I went either…” you say rubbing your lips. “Come on, let's go find some good seats.” you say, clasping her hand in yours as you step into the musky smelling theater, ready to hold her hand for the next two hours straight.
—
Obviously, the two of you rushed to the very top row of seats in the theater against the wall, any other seats simply not making any sense. You took the seat to her left, removing your jacket and setting it in the seat beside you. The advertisements before the previews began rolling, and your heart rate began to pick up. Why did you feel like you were 14 again, on a date with a girl you’d had a crush on for two whole weeks?
The two of you shared a few glances, her hands folded and rested comfortably under her chin as her elbows balanced on the armrests. Suddenly the lights went down, and the previews started. The quick heart rate from earlier got even worse. You didn’t know if it was the nerves from being on a real actual date with her again, or the fact that you were so starved for her touch after the week you’d had, but you found your insides rolling around on themselves with want for her. Her touch, any kind.
You looked at her with your peripheral, the light from the screen bouncing off her face. She smirked a little, feeling your eyes on her. You made it through the five or six new movie previews, but you couldn’t name one. All you could think about was the gorgeous girl to your right, shoulder to shoulder with you.
Finally the lights went down even more, and you noticed that the only other people that had made it into the theater was another couple around your age, who had chosen to sit down in almost the front row. A theater almost to yourselves.
The opening credits began, the loud music rattling the walls and chairs. You felt your palms begin to sweat with nerves, so you wiped them across the thighs of your pants, and rested your elbows on the armrests, jokingly fighting Y/N to claim the spot. You heard her laugh through her nose, moving her elbow around to make room for you.
“You know, if you wanted the arm rest all you had to do was ask.” She whispered, bringing her mouth to your ear. Instant chills. “And if you want to hold my hand, all you have to do is grab it.”
She pulled back, turning her attention back to the movie. Deep breath, it’s just Y/N.
You held your hand out, palm up, and she happily laid hers in it, interlacing your fingers with hers and squeezing tightly. Okay, good. Okay.
You looked to her, smiling ear to ear. The feeling of holding her hand was sending bolts of electricity straight up your arm, and you began rubbing your thumb across her knuckles.
The movie went on, you only paying half-attention to it. In an act of confidence, you brought her hand to your lips, lying a long and sweet kiss to her palm. She started gushing, shying away and giving you a smile so sweet you felt like melting. She then repeated your action, kissing each of your fingertips and then your palm, her mouth parted and half open as she slowly laid kisses all over your scarred hand, like she remembered where she pulled each and every shard of glass out all those years ago.
Then, she did something that caught you so completely off guard that you felt your head spin. She brought your pointer finger slowly into her mouth, running her tongue along it, closing her lips tightly around it, and lightly biting the tip…shit. You exhaled, getting so extremely turned on from such a simple act. Then, she switched your fingers, stretching it all the way to the back of her throat.
Fuck.
When she finally removed it, you were writhing in your seat. She turned back to the movie like nothing had ever happened. Your heart was beating in your ears as you decided to meet her energy, snaking your hand down to her thigh, letting it slip underneath her dress, and grip the tender part of her muscle. You watched as she scooted forward just a bit in her seat, obviously enjoying this game so far. You took it further, letting your hand travel higher and higher until your fingers were ghosting the fabric of her thong.
The next thing you knew, her hand was mirroring yours, traveling with a tight grip up the inside of your thigh. Shit shit shit. She didn’t slow down, she didn’t shy away. Her hand lightly grazed your bulge, before completely gripping it in her hand. You couldn’t stop yourself from looking directly at her, but the expression on her face was begging you to touch her more.
You let your hand go up further, touching her through her panties. You held eye contact as you both touched each other, driving the other absolutely insane. You were hoping and praying that she would move to unbuckle your belt, and like she was reading your mind, she did.
Your free hand moved to help her, your chest already heaving. She kept her eyes trained on the movie while you maneuvered your belt and zipper, and when you got everything unlatched, her finger tips sunk below the waistline of your boxers, pulling them out so she could reach her hand all the way in.
Fuck what is happening shit shit…
You felt your already damaged lungs lose every bit of air at her touch, her hand gripping your dick and squeezing it, moving her hand as much as she could with it still tucked away in your boxers.
You gathered your thoughts quickly…two can play this game, baby. You let your left hand pull her thong to the side, wasting no time in going straight for the place you knew would drive her wild. God, she felt so perfect. You’d almost forgotten…her hand on you mixed with the feeling of her on your fingers was making your vision blur. She scooted down in the seat a bit more, giving you more space to feel her completely. Should you…?
Just then, the door to the theater slammed, and in walked another couple, coming up the stairs and taking their seats near the middle of the theater. You closed your eyes, sighing a frustrated huff while you glanced to Y/N, her opposite hand covering her mouth.
She started to giggle. She removed her hand slowly, and you did the same. She was trying hard not to laugh out loud, holding her nose closed as she caught her breath.
“What the fuck are you laughing at?” You whispered, readjusting yourself in your slacks.
“We’re acting like a couple of horny teenagers feeling each other up in a damn movie theater, and we almost got caught. It’s just funny, okay?” She laughed again through her strangled whispers, causing you to feel a chuckle leave your chest. It was kind of funny.
After you calmed down a little, you leaned in close to her ear, sharing the armrest now. “Doesn’t change the fact that even though I’m not a teenager, I’m still extremely fuckin’ turned on right now and I want to leave this movie as soon as humanly possible.”
She took a deep breath, teeth gritted tightly as she watched the screen. “Let’s go.”
——
You both made a mad dash out of the theater and toward the car, the brisk night air bringing you back to reality for the time being. What the hell just happened in there? As you made your way through the parking lot digging for your keys in your pocket, Y/N rushed up beside you, taking your hand in hers as you walked. Oh.
You gave her a knowing glance, and she gave you a glare that could’ve killed you. She really wants this to keep going…get it together Jake.
You both hopped in the car, and you started up the engine, backing out of the parking space. When you got on the road, you cleared your throat. Neither of you had said a word since you left the theater, and frankly, you had no idea what to say. All you knew was that you were absolutely starving for her, and the tension between you was so thick you could almost see it. Was this really happening? It’s been over a month…
You let your left hand drape across the steering wheel and your right balance on the console, nervously running your fingers over your lips.
“Are you anxious, Jake?” She finally broke the silence.
Uhhhh…
You cleared your throat once again, feeling the threat of a tiny cough tickle your throat, still not completely rid of your illness. “Yeah,” your voice cracked. “Yeah not gonna lie, Y/N, kinda anxious.” You told her truthfully.
“Me too.” She said meekly, sinking into the chair.
You reached your hand out for her again like you had in the theater, letting her grasp your fingers with hers. Still feels so perfect.
“Do you wanna go home? Or…” you asked, making sure she had the same thoughts as you.
“Yeah. Let’s go home.” She said.
“What uh, what about the rules?” You asked her.
“Well, we didn’t break rule #1, and we kinda broke rule #2…”
“We broke the fuck out of rule #2, babe.” You laughed.
“Yeah, well. I guess, since we never um. Stated a rule #4, it doesn’t really, technically exist, right?” She offered.
Holy fucking shit she wants to do it.
“Yeah I…I don’t remember us saying that one was in the book, do you?” You replied nervously.
She shook her head from side to side. “Won’t change anything though… We’re still, not…”
You nodded. “Right. Yes. Won’t change anything at all. Still very much…not together.”
“Right. Not together.” she said, looking at you longingly.
You brought her hand to your mouth again, this time not letting it leave your lips until you were pulling down your street.

HER POV
Did he really want to do this? Should you do this? As the car pulled up to the house he put it in park and shut off the engine, as he turned to look at you. Your hands were still clasped together but now rested on your lap. Your brain started to swirl with panic. Would this undo everything?
“Jake, I’m sorry I did that in the movie theater. I shouldn’t have.” you said quietly.
“No, I… It’s okay. I liked it…I’ve…missed your touch.” he replies.
“You have…” you question.
“Are you kidding me? Yeah baby…” he scoffs. “Come on, let’s go inside…”
You nod and open your door, stepping out onto the sidewalk as he rounds the front of the car to meet you. Your brain was still rushing with want but you knew in your heart that you shouldn’t. You shouldn’t be with him like that until the two of you were back together. Right?
“I can see you overthinking it.” he smirks, unlocking the front door.
“I’m not…I’m just…I’m scared it will undo all the progress we’ve made. That part of our relationship was always solid. I’m just scared we will fall back into how things were…” you explain.
“And what’s wrong with that?” he says, stepping inside and tossing his keys on the table.
“I was a terrible person. Partner…I just want to be what you need in a partner and back then, I wasn’t. You deserve better Jake.” you say.
He steps up to you and grabs your arms looking into your eyes, “I can assure you that you are everything I need. Everything I deserve. Everything I want. If you want to wait, it’ll fuckin’ kill me, but I will wait. I will always wait for you, Y/N. Okay?”
He slides his hand down your arms and twists his fingers with yours.
“Are you sure you aren’t mad Jake? I feel like I just teased you so bad, and you planned the most perfect date and now I am leaving you high and dry…We shouldn’t have taken it that far…” you say.
“Baby this was never part of the plan. I never expected anything. I just wanted to take you out, have a little bit of fun outside of the house. Everything else was just extra. And honestly just feeling your hand on me even if just for a minute was enough.” he pauses. “I mean I guess I was kind of expecting a kiss at the end of the date…” he says playfully.
“So walk me to my door and maybe you’ll get it…” you tease.
He releases one of your hands as he walks you to the guest room door pausing as you turn to face him, “Thank you for the date. It was so much fun…I hope we can have another one day…” you taunt.
“Mmm it’s looking pretty good so far…” he smirks, leaning his head towards you placing his hand on your cheek as he presses his lips to yours. You wind your hands around his waist and pull him closer to you. He pulls your bottom lip between his, sucking at it gently as his tongue swipes over it. You open your mouth just slightly to let him in, a gentle whine leaving your mouth.
“Mmm fuck…” he growls as he pulls away. “We have to stop. I want you so bad. I’m sorry Y/N. Anyways, thanks for coming with me tonight. I hope you… sleep well…” he says, stepping back from the doorway.
You twist the door knob and step inside, “You too…” you breathe, your head still rushing with want.
You close the door softly and stand there, heart pounding as you think about his mouth on yours, his lips, his hands on your skin. Your body fills with goosebumps and your breath catches in your throat. Next thing you know your hand is reaching for the door knob throwing it open ready to run straight to his room, but as the door flies open he's there, leaning against the wall.
“Jake…” you breathe.
“Baby…” he replies, pulling you into him.
Your mouths reunite once again but this time it's faster, more frenzied. Both of you positively dripping with need for the other. You tangle both of your hands into the hair at the base of his head as your lips fight to kiss every inch of his. His hands reach down and cradle your thighs, pulling you up to wrap your legs around his waist as he walks both of you as quickly as he can towards his bedroom.
Your lips never part from him, kissing his jaw, his neck, fuck… anywhere you can reach. He kicks open the door walking straight to the bed and dropping you onto your back into the fluffy duvet.
He steps back from you, unbuttoning the last buttons of his shirt and throwing it to the floor. He kicks off his pants and rejoins you on the bed, hovering over top of you as his lips connect to the skin of your neck. He brings one of his hands to your chest, grabbing your tits as frantically as he can. His fingers hook into the strap of your dress, sliding the fabric down your shoulder to reveal your bare chest.
“Goddamnit Y/N…” he breathes.
You squirm underneath him, desperate to feel his lips on your skin again.
“Tell me you’re sure.” he demands.
“I’m sure! I’m sure! Please!” you beg.
He pulls your dress the rest of the way off of your body, leaving you both in just your underwear. He studies you, his eyes running over every inch of your body like it’s the first time he’s seen it. Your eyes flick to his nervously as his gaze grows darker.
He runs his hand down your chest, and over your stomach, letting his fingers graze your heat as he swipes them down your legs. Your hips buck up into his feeling his hardened length brush your skin.
He sees the look in your eye when you feel it, a smirk pulling up the corner of his mouth. “Every fuckin’ day. Every day I have to fight that off. I’m not gonna fight it anymore baby.”
“Please Jake…” you beg.
His fingers hook into the lace of your thong all but ripping it from your body as he uses his knee to spread your legs. You’re breathing heavily, your chest rising and falling quickly as you wait for his touch.
“Where was I…” he said, swiping a finger through your wetness.
“Somewhere like here…” he said, pushing two fingers inside of you, causing your back to arch up off the bed.
“Yeah, yeah. Right there, huh baby…” he growled.
His free hand comes up to twist one of your nipples between his fingers, a whine leaving your lips at the sensation. “You always have made the prettiest sounds.”
He hooks his fingers up into you, as he lowers his lips to your other nipple, sucking it into his mouth and biting gently.
“Jake…” you moan.
He releases his mouth from you, continuing to pump his fingers in and out, “Yeah baby?”
“I can’t wait. Please. Just…please.” you beg, reaching to pull his boxers down.
He pulls his fingers from you and pushes his boxers the rest of the way off, kicking them to the floor to join the rest of your clothes.
Your eyes travel down his torso to his dick, before you flick your eyes back up to his.
He snaps his fingers and points to the top of the bed, “Get in the middle.”
You quickly move yourself backwards as he crawls onto the bed between your legs. He bends down, licking a hot stripe up your center, as you sigh into the air.
His left hand comes up to rest next to your head as his right grips his length and drags his tip through your folds.
“Jesus Christ Y/N, I swear to god I’m not going to last five seconds.” he pants.
“If we’re going to break the rules, we are going to fucking break them.” you breathe.
With a grunt he presses inside you and a whine rips from your chest at the feeling. He is breathing heavy over top of you, trying to keep his composure as your insides adjust around him.
“Fuck me, you are so tight. Feels like the fucking first time I felt you around me…” he pulls his hips back to try to start moving, his eyes rolling to the back of his head as he lets out a breath.
“Shit, yeah I need a second.” he pleads.
“Jake, I need you to move. I need you to fuck me right this second.” you beg.
He swallows harshly and pulls back, before pressing into you again with a deep groan. You can see him fighting it, he wants to give you what you want. He wants this to last the rest of the night. You can feel every sweet inch of him as he moves inside of you, your walls clenching around him with every thrust.
“Jake…fuck…fuck I missed you. I…” you breathe, digging your nails into his back.
He attaches his lips to yours, licking into your mouth as he starts to move quicker, hitting your sweet spot with every stroke.
He lowers his lips to your ear, whispering into it as he works both of you towards release.
“You feel so fuckin’ good baby. My gorgeous fuckin’ girl…” he growls.
He starts to roll his hips, causing his tip to slide against your g-spot in slow meticulous strokes as he presses his hand to your pelvis to increase the pressure. You cry out in bliss as the sensation takes over your body.
“Feel good? Feel good when I fuck you like that? Been thinkin’ about it for weeks. The things I was going to do to you when I finally got you back…Better than I imagined baby. You always are…” he whispers.
He pulls out all the way, grabbing your knee and hooking it up over his hip as he presses all the way in to be fully seated inside of you. You clench down around him, and his eyes shoot open to lock with yours.
“I can’t hold it…” he breathes.
“Don’t…” you pant.
“Want you to cum with me.” he begs.
“I’m there… just keep going…” you answer.
He brings his thumb to his mouth, licking it before pressing it to your clit making rapid circles. You arch up into his touch, and whine.
“Yeah just like that love, you’re so close. My good girl, let me have it. Let me fill you. Can I do that? Can I fill my girl?” he coaxes.
“Please Jake! Fuck!” you cry, a tear springing from your eye.
“Now baby, right fuckin’ now!” he says, grabbing your hips and pulling you impossibly closer to him as his cock jerks violently inside of you. You feel the fire blaze through your chest as your release washes over the both of you, completely tearing your consciousness apart. He grunts your name as his warmth fills you, the room filled with breathy moans and whimpers.
He releases his grip on your hips trying to slowly pull himself out of you without making a huge mess, but as he pulls out, it spills out of you and onto your legs. He groans as he watches, his eyes flicking to yours, which you’re sure are completely blissed out.
He brings himself to lay on top of you, pressing his lips to yours over and over, until you’re both giggling and smiling.
“I’m sorry we couldn’t go longer. I…It’s been a month without you…” he says, rolling off of you and onto his side.
“Jake…I was barely holding on too. But…” you pause.
“But what…” he asks, running his finger down your sternum.
“But I want more.” you whisper.
“Oh thank god…” he says, turning your body onto your side, and pulling you into him. He lifts your leg and positions himself at your entrance, slowly pushing inside of you.
“I don’t know if I will ever get enough of you Y/N…” he whispers into your ear.
His hand reaches around to the front of you swirling his fingers over your clit as you arch into him.
“Oh fuck stay like that, keep your back arched like that, holy fuck…” he begs slowly thrusting in and out of you. He continues to whisper sweet praises into your ear as his hand travels over your body so softly, so gently.
His hand comes back up to wrap around your front holding you tightly to his chest. Suddenly you feel the air between you shift, this is no longer frenzied and furious sex, no, somewhere it shifted into slow and tender love making. There were no more harsh movements, there were no more dirty phrases. It was just you and him. The both of you showing each other you’re still here. You’re both still in there, loving each other, through it all.
He pulls out of you and you spin to face him, near tears as he presses his lips to yours in a kiss you know is laced with love and adoration. He pulls your hips towards him, as you part your legs to let him back in. He presses into you until he is fully seated and breathing in deeply the scent of the two of you together.
You wrap your arms around his neck as he slowly pushes and pulls in and out, his eyes never leaving yours once.
“Remember, that night in the hotel room, I told you to stop telling me you loved me.” he says, continuing to move.
“Yeah…” you breathe.
“Please don’t…” he begs.
You press your lips to his, your tongues tangling together as he moves inside of you.
“Why did you say it?” you ask.
“Because it was killing me that I couldn’t say it back…I never stopped loving you.” he answered, starting to pant.
“I found out right after that, what I did. Crawled into bed with you. Just wanted to be close to you. Had to tell you I loved you too. Couldn’t breathe until I said it. You didn’t hear it, but…” he continued.
“You do?” you ask.
He grabs you and rolls to his back, bringing you to sit on top of him. You spin around to face him, repositioning yourself on top of him, as you begin to roll your hips slowly.
“Y/N there is nothing in the world that you could ever do that would keep me from loving you.” he answers.
You lift off of him before dropping back down, repeating the motion until the both of you are crumbling closer to your second orgasm.
His hands guided your hips, as he talked you through it, his touch tender and loving as he spilled into you for the second time. You rolled off of him and into the bathroom to clean up, opting for a quick rinse in the shower before you both returned to the bed.
You helped him change the sheets and he disappeared down the hallway, returning with your pillow and your cell phone.
You pulled on one of his t-shirts and a clean pair of underwear before you slid into the bed next to him and cuddled into his side.
“Hey baby?” you asked, into the dark room.
“Yes?”
You rolled closer to him and looked up towards him, “What do you want to do for your birthday?”
“Hmmm…That…” he giggles.
You dig a finger into his ribs, “No seriously…”
“I am being serious.” he laughs again.
“Jacob…” you warn.
“I don’t know. I just want to spend the day with you…See Josh, and the guys…nothing fancy. Just want to do this. This feels good. Makes me happy.” he answers.
“Okay, okay…” you say, pressing a kiss to his bare chest.
“Are you excited to go to South America in a few days?” he asks.
“I am excited, I have always wanted to go to Brazil.” you answer.
“I can’t wait to take you, it's so beautiful there. There are so many cool places to eat and things to see…” he gushes, “...and to spend every night just like this…”
“Jake… we… won’t spend every night just like this though…” you say.
“What do you mean…” he asks, turning towards you.
“We…we’re in separate rooms, remember?” you remind him.
“No…cancel it, change it, or whatever…You sleep with me damn near every night Y/N…I’ve kind of grown partial to it…”
“I know baby, but this is part of that growing up thing I am working on. I think we need to stay separate while we are on tour. At least while we aren’t together…”
“I don’t want to be separate. I want to go out, play our shows, eat good food, and make love to my girl every night.” he says.
“Jake, we can’t do that either…” you say nervously.
“What so this was just…Just a one time thing?” he asks, stopping the hand that's been rubbing your arm.
“No…I don’t know, I don’t know what we are supposed to do but I feel like we need to limit it as much as possible. I know it will be hard but we have to… try.”
He lets out a sigh, “Okay, well, if that’s what you want, I’ll do it.”
“It’s not what I want Jake, but it’s what we need, as a couple. To keep rebuilding our relationship, without using sex as a buffer.” you say.
“I know. I just, need you…sometimes.” he admits.
“I know babe, me too. And I think sometimes is…fine. We just need to wait until neither of us can take it anymore and then…” you pause. “Think about how good it felt just now…”
“Fucking perfect.” he answers.
“Exactly, and I feel like emotionally our relationship is getting so much better. If we can just keep… doing what we’re doing…I think we can be together again and I can be the person I want to be for you.” you say.
He pulls you into his chest and kisses your head, “I know baby. I want you to be happy. I’m so glad you are still coming with us. With me. Still want to go eat at cool places with you. We can do that, right?”
“Yeah babe, we can do that.” you say reaching up and pressing a kiss to his lips. “And for the record I am fully intending on sleeping just like this all night long.” you say wrapping your arm around his waist and nuzzling your face into his neck.
“I’d be sad if you didn’t.” he says, wrapping his arms around you.
You both start to drift off, your mind swirling with thoughts of Jake and Brazil, when your phone chimes on your nightstand. Your eyes pop open and you roll over to grab it, squinting as you read the name.
Elle
11:47pm: We need to talk.
You lock your phone and set it on the nightstand, swallowing nervously as you return back to Jake.
“Who was it baby?” he asks, voice groggy and still half asleep.
“It was Elle. She wants to talk…”
—
The next morning you woke up almost exactly how you’d fallen asleep, tied and twisted with Jake, your limbs sweaty underneath the heavy covers. The memories of the night before came swirling back as the muscles of your insides began to throb. It really had been a while. But you welcomed the uncomfortable sensation, truly being thankful you could fulfill your human needs so effortlessly with him.
His hair was overtop of your face, just where you liked it. He stirred beside you, flipping his face to the other side, taking his locks with him. Then he propped up on his elbows, rubbing his face before looking at you with the sweetest smile.
“Mornin' sunshine.” You said, taking in the sight of him grinning with all his teeth. “You look like you got laid last night.”
“I’m on cloud fuckin’ 9, baby.” He giggled shyly, rolling himself to you and placing his elbows on either side of your head. “Actually got to sleep with the hottest girl I’ve ever seen last night.” He went on, laying sweet kisses to your lips.
“Oh really? How was that?” You played along.
His tongue brushed inside your mouth, instantly bringing back that feeling of want that lived deep in your bones. “Fuckin’ amazing. Perfect. I’d give you all the details, but…” he clicked his tongue. “Unfortunately I probably won’t get to do it again for a while, she said she wants to take things slow.”
“Ahh, that sucks. Well, maybe from time to time, when you’ve both built up so much tension…” you let your hands travel down to grip his ass, letting your fingernails dig in and pull him toward you, pressing his morning hard-on directly to your heat.
“…you both can talk about it again. Ya know, just hooking up every once in a while. You’re both adults, right?” You suggested, leaving the conversation open ended.
He moaned through a little cry, pushing himself against you again. “We are both adults. Nothing wrong with some healthy sex every once in a while, right?”
You pressed your lips to his again, licking into his mouth as you felt him hold himself back. “Nothing wrong with it at all…” he mumbled. “God you’re fuckin killing me again, Y/N. I gotta get up. Gotta go, do something…anything…” You giggled as you watched him walk to the bathroom, still completely nude. “Let’s go get coffee.”
——
Half an hour later, the two of you were sitting outside of your favorite coffee shop, sipping from your cups and sharing an oversized blueberry muffin.
“My abs are sore.” Jake said quietly as he stirred his coffee.
“Sore? From what? We hardly lasted five minutes each time…jeeze. Must be out of shape…” you shook your head at him playfully.
He scoffed. “Ugh leave me alone, it’s been a while. Plus I haven’t exercised in like, two months. I almost died of fuckin’ pneumonia and laid in a bed for two weeks, did you forget?” He spat back, sounding bratty as hell.
“Hm. Well. Guess you’ll just have to build that stamina back up then, won’t you?” You winked.
The courtyard in front of the coffee shop was semi crowded, lots of people with dogs and baby strollers. You watched as a young mom pushed a double carriage to the table beside you, parking it there and pushing the sun visor up to reveal two sleeping baby boys.
“Is anyone using this table?” She asked, taking her backpack off.
“No, no. All yours.” Jake smiled and moved a chair out of the way for her.
“Got some tiny ones there.” You said.
“They’re three months old today. Meeting my friend to celebrate their milestone with some coffee and way too much sugar!” She laughed.
“Oh, I bet you need all the caffeine you can get, huh?” You said.
“That’s an understatement…” she laughed as she waved her friend over to join her.
You and Jake sat in silence for a while, people watching and finishing your coffees. You started thinking, right then and there, about something that you truly hadn’t thought hard about in years. Something that, until recently, you’d buried away so far in your brain that you’d nearly forgotten, and the fact that you’d almost forgotten made you sick. A part of your life that you didn’t discuss, that you didn’t bring up, that was a secret from everyone you loved.
“What’s wrong baby? You’re being kinda quiet…” Jake interrupted your internalization.
You perked up. “Oh, nothing. Just kinda sleepy still.”
“Okay. We can take a nap later, if you want.” Jake suggested.
“Yeah, that sounds good to me, babe.” You answered blankly.
You both glanced over to the mom again as one of the babies woke up and started crying. You watched as she picked him up to console him, and watched as the other one instinctively opened his eyes at the sound of his brother’s crying.
“Ya know, me and Josh always used to wonder which one of us would end up with twins, since there’s such a big chance of that happening through generations. I always thought it’d be him.” Jake said.
You watched as the second baby moved his head around, eyes darting side to side, looking for his counterpart. Your heart nearly shattered into pieces. Even as young and tiny as he was, he looked lost, like his compass was going haywire…
“Watch it be Sam.” You responded.
Jake’s head snapped your way. “Really? You think? Why?”
You shrugged. “Just would be funny. Hey, you think your brothers would wanna come over for dinner tonight?”
“Yeah, probably. I think Sam and Elle are back, Danny texted me last night-”
“No, Jake. Just your brothers. Your blood ones.” You interrupted, earning a very strange look from him.
“Uh..I guess. I can… ask them. Why just them?” He pressed.
Your mind spun around as you tried to pull an excuse to get the three of them alone together.
“I want to talk to them. You. Just you three. About… everything.” You only half-lied. “Together, as a family.”
“Okayyyy, yeah, I’ll text them now. Uh, our house? 5:00?” He said, pulling out his phone.
“Perfect.” You took the opportunity to take your phone out as well, pulling up the text from Elle.
You
10:31am: Coffee tomorrow?
——
The rest of the day proceeded normally, you and Jake went home and did end up napping the rest of the afternoon away, him walking on eggshells at the uncertainty of why you wanted just Josh and Sam to come over this evening, but never pressing the issue with more questions.
“I’m starting the pasta babe! They should be here any minute!” Jake yelled from the kitchen as you finished up some laundry.
“Sounds good! I’m almost done here!” You shut the lid to the washing machine, nerves suddenly overtaking your body. You felt your face flush pink, and your stomach flipped over, making you feel sick. You leaned backwards onto the machine, fanning your face as the blood finally traveled back to your brain.
You rushed into the guest room, pulling the drawer to your nightstand open to reveal your barely-yet-used journal. You flipped to the last few pages, finding the old photograph perfectly safe there.
Fuck, you can do this.
Little did Jake know, you weren’t okay. You were terrified. And you were about to share with them your deepest, darkest secret.
——
“…and it wasn’t even the priest, it was his barber all along!” Josh had finished up with a twenty minute long joke, sending the four of you into stitches.
“That’s the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard, Josh. My god.” Sam said.
“Well, it made you laugh didn’t it?” Josh retorted, making Sam throw his hands into the air.
Dinner was drawing to a close, and you knew the guys were getting antsy with their curiosity of asking them here tonight. All three of them.
“Another bottle, guys?” You said, standing from the table and clearing some of the plates away.
“Yeah, sure. And also when you come back, can you bring the reason you asked just us two to come over tonight?” Sam snapped, turning around in his seat to face you. Fuck you, Sammy.
You turned to shoot daggers at him, only to be met with three of almost the exact same face staring back at you. You dropped the plates into the sink, admitting defeat.
You slowly walked back over to the table, taking your seat. The three of them leaned in closely, watching your next move. You cleared your throat.
“Alright, alright.” Deep breath. “So, this…isn’t easy to say…so forgive me if I get, a little emotional, okay?” You asked, looking to all three of them, the people you loved most in this world, looking at you with so much worry and concern in their eyes you could explode.
“We grew up together right? Since we were babies, and stayed so close all these years, so I feel like I can trust each of you, even after all the bullshit we’ve been through, what I ultimately was the cause of, right?”
They all nodded, speaking quietly that yes, of course you could trust them.
“Sam, my very first chosen friend. Always there for me and always my rock ever since we could walk. I think you know me better than I know myself, and that’s a little terrifying. Always calling me out on my shit, and helping me fucking cause it, too.” You giggled, hoping that one day all of the stuff that happened in Vegas could become a joke.
“Well, ya know...” He laughed.
“Josh, you’re such a good big brother to them. And to me, you always were. You don’t even know you’re doing it, but you keep all of us so grounded and so in line, and so in love with life that you should win an award. And thank you, for helping me here lately. Taking me out of my comfort zone and under your wing. I don’t think you know how much I appreciate it.”
He nodded a sweet you’re welcome.
“And Jake, what the hell. Where do I even start? I’m so excited about this new life we’re building together, and how supportive you’ve always been of me. All the shit I put you through, it’s been some of the most horrible and beautifully messy times of my life. And I’m so thankful for you and all you do for us.”
“I’m also so proud of you guys.” You said, looking to Jake and Sam. “After all that shit in Vegas, you two can still find a way to love each other. And I am so wholeheartedly sorry about how that all went down. From the bottom of my heart, I swear.”
Jake reached over and grabbed your hand, squeezing it tightly.
“I don’t know if you know, Jake, but Sam watched you go through something really traumatic in the hospital, and when he told me about it, god, it tore me to shreds. Seeing the love you guys all have for each other, it…” you couldn’t stop the tears that were forming in your eyes, as Jake squeezed your hand harder. “It made me realize some things. And I don’t want to run from it anymore. I want to share…everything. With you guys. With my family. Even my secrets.”
All three of them adjusted in their chairs, curiosity and apprehension written all over them. You stood up, went into the guest room, and re-emerged with your journal. You sat back down, and flipped to the very back page. You pulled the tiny photograph that was stuck between the pages, seeing it one last time by yourself before it became not only your secret, but theirs, too.
You turned it around so all three of them could see.
Sam and Jake simultaneously sat back in their seats, physically blown away by what you were showing them.
A blurry black and white sonogram image of a baby. Your baby. The one you never got to meet.
“It’s okay, it’s okay…it’s neither of yours…look at the date…” you said to them as you realized their instant state of panic.
“January 14, 2017.” Sam said, his breath falling out of him with relief. “Oh my god…”
“Baby, what the fuck is going on? What is this? Your name is on this…” Jake said, letting his emotions start to rise.
“Yeah, Jake. That’s because it was mine. Mine and Andy’s.” You relented.
You watched as their faces were painted with happiness, then shock, then sorrow.
“I never got to meet this baby, because right before I found out, Andy started showing his true colors in a more public way. Remember the night of the New Years Eve party? When he found us out on the porch?” You looked to Jake.
“The night he put his hands on me there, left bruises on my arms…all the horrible things he did even before that, you know. Well, I found out two weeks later. I didn’t tell him I was even going to the doctor to find out for sure.” Your tears finally decided to run over. “The night before my appointment, he was drunk. We got into an argument, he pushed me so hard into the wall that it busted a hole through. I thought for sure that if I was pregnant, I would have lost it that night, anyway. So I fought him off of me for another hour or so, let him pass out on the couch. The next day at my appointment, lo and behold, the baby was alright. But I wasn’t.”
“I was so devastated…the nurse at the clinic saw the bruises on me, noticed how much of a shell of a person I was, slipped me a brochure for noticing the signs of domestic abuse. God, it threw me for a loop…I never even thought that that was what I was enduring, all that time. Seeing it there on paper, that Andy was abusing me while I was being told I was most definitely going to be bringing his child into the world. It…fucking…” you were sobbing hard now, finally feeling the weight of the subject coming to the light like a weight off your entire being.
“I had to make the hardest decision of my entire life, that day. I had to decide. I had to keep myself safe, and I could barely do that. Andy was getting worse by the day. The thought of having to bring a baby…god, I couldn’t even…” you took a deep breath, feeling Jake’s arms wrapping around your back, pulling you tightly into him.
“Fuck, Y/N…” he cried into your hair.
You continued. “I never told Andy about it. I kept it a secret…from everybody. I felt so ashamed. A few weeks after I had the procedure, one of Andy’s fraternity brothers’ girlfriends decided to let it slip that she knew I was there…she worked at the clinic and recognized me I guess. Bitch. Completely against the fucking law, but. They told Andy, and he was infuriated. Said that I took something away from him without him even knowing he had it. Hated me for it, called me horrible things. Thinking back now, maybe I should have told him. I guess I could have given him that much. But honestly, things were getting so bad that I truly don’t think that tiny thing would have survived another night of its mother being thrown into the dining room table.”
Jake’s arms held you steady, his hands rubbing across your skin. You finally got the gumption to look at Josh and Sam, both of them absolutely fraught with sadness, tears falling hard from both of their faces. You could tell they were dying to speak, but neither of them had any clue what to say.
“The reason I’m telling you all of this is because you deserve an answer. I’ve lied about it for months. That’s why he’s stalking me. That’s why he’s been following us everywhere, breaking in and stealing your things…He’s obsessed with giving me what he thinks I deserve for taking that away from him. I’m scared he’s not gonna stop until he gets it. He’s getting worse, he’s in it too deeply now.”
Josh’s hands were folded in front of him, covering his mouth as his leg bounced up and down. Sam had his head hanging from his fingers laced through his hair, staring at the tiny photograph. Jake finally released you, squatting beside you to speak. He brought both hands to your face, slowly drifting his thumbs under your eyes to catch the tears that just wouldn’t stop coming.
“I love you so much, Y/N, I swear to god I do. I’m so sorry…” he whispered, pulling up to embrace you again. You let your arms wrap around him, your safe place, your home. He’d finally told you he loved you, after weeks of not hearing those words fall from his mouth.
“I love you too, Jake.” You said through cutting sobs. “I’m so sorry I never told you, told any of you. I should have been honest from the get go. I was just too afraid to tell the truth of why he was following me. Could’ve saved us a lot of difficulty.”
“No, no no…” they all chimed in unison.
“No, Y/N. That was something you didn’t have to share with us. You could’ve kept that secret for as long as you needed to.” Josh said.
“Yeah, this is him being crazy, not you. Don’t worry. We’ll keep you safe. All of us will.” Sam added. “He’s not gonna get what he thinks he deserves. We won’t let him.”
“Yeah, no way that fucker is getting anywhere near you ever again.” Jake added.
You nodded. “I’m trying really hard, guys. I’m trying to be better. I think getting this off my chest was the real start of it.” You said, tears staining Jake’s shirt. “I’m ready to heal.”
The other two silently made their way over to you and Jake, wrapping their arms all around you and each other as they held you in their own cage of protection.
You weren’t sure how long you stayed like that, all embraced together, but right then you knew you’d made the right decision in telling them. They harbored no blame, no judgment, no ill feelings toward you. Just love. Devastatingly perfect love.
——
After a few minutes of silent sobs and embarrassed tears, the four of you stood to gather yourselves.
“Well, that was a lot, sorry guys.” You laughed nervously, stepping away a bit.
“Please stop apologizing, Y/N. There’s nothing at all to be sorry for. If anything you should be patting yourself on the back, for sharing that with us. That’s a huge step.” Josh said.
“Yeah, babe. Don’t be sorry to us. We’re all gonna get through it together. One step at a time, okay? We won't leave you.” Jake said, rubbing your shoulders from behind.
Sam walked up and took you in a giant embrace, his chin resting on your shoulder as he spun you in little half circles. “Can’t believe you held that in for so many years…I’m–I’m so sorry, Y/N.” His whisper was quiet in your ear. This was the closest you’d been with Sam since…
“Thanks, Sammy. It’s alright. In a dark place for way too long…ready to walk away from it.”
He pulled back, taking your head in his hands. “And we’ll be right here to hold your hand as you do. Okay?” You nodded, more tears forming as you felt his familiar comforting touch. He laid a sweet kiss to your forehead, and backed away. A little more light conversation added some happiness to the heavy atmosphere, and you suddenly felt yourself become extremely exhausted.
The air changed, and Josh and Sam caught the drift that it was time for them to go home. “Thanks for listening to me, guys. Means more than you know.” You told them as you walked them toward the door. “I’m gonna tell Elle and Daniel soon, so. Just wanted you three to know first.”
They nodded, sending you more sweet goodbyes as they shut the door behind them. You turned to see Jake leaned against the countertop, his face completely sunken in with an expression that didn’t make sense.
“You wanna go for a walk or something?” He said.
You sighed, walking back over to wrap yourself up in him. “No, I gotta clean up the kitchen.” You said.
“No, baby. That can wait until tomorrow. It’s fine.” Jake replied.
“Okay…kinda wanna go lay down again.” You laughed.
You walked under his arm back to the bedroom, changing into something comfy, and sliding back under the covers with him. He took you up in his arms, pulling you close as you let yourself finally breathe.
“I don’t know what to say, babe. I’m proud of you for being strong, though. I can’t believe you went so long holding that in…I couldn’t imagine what you’ve been going through keeping that to yourself.” Jake said, laying his cheek to your hair.
“I almost called you. That day I went to the clinic. I didn’t want to be alone, didn’t want to go by myself. But, I just…”
“You should’ve called me! I would have gone with you, talked to you…” he said, voice rising.
“You were in Europe, Jake. Not even in the same time zone. But, I did it. Got through it. It all…worked out…” you said, squeezing him tighter.
“I know…I’m so sorry baby.” he whispered.
You took another deep breath. “Jake, there’s more, though…”
He pulled back a bit, looking at you sternly, pity on his face. “More…?”
You buried your face in his chest. “After everything with the baby, in the year or so after, when I’d go to my annual checkups, they told me it was a miracle I even conceived at all. And after the procedure, I was left with a lot of internal scarring. Lots of… strange complications. Told me it would be extremely difficult for me to even get pregnant ever again, without intervention.”
“Fuck, babe…” he mouthed. You felt his body go limp.
You sat up, able to look him in the face now. “That’s why…that’s why I never told you about it. I didn’t think you’d want me anymore, if you knew I might not…”
“Shit, Y/N, no. No no no, please don’t.” He sat up and squeezed you again, more sobs rattling through your chest.
“It’s not fair to you, Jake. You deserve that. And I was selfish in not telling you, but I just love you so much, and everything was so scary and crazy, I didn’t want you not in my life…”
He pulled away, grasping both of your hands in his. “Listen to me, Y/N. You’re it for me. Okay? You always have been. I’m ready to have you any way you are, no matter what. Please, don’t for one second think that I think less of you. Ever. You’re the most amazing thing in my life and I’m not ever letting you go.”
“But what if I can’t give you what you’ve always wanted?” You cried.
“You are what I’ve always wanted, Y/N. Only you! As far as that goes…we will figure it out, babe. You and me. We’ll make it through all that together, okay? We have tons and tons of options. I’m not even worried about it.” He pulled you into him again, qualming your tears as he soothed you. “We’ll cross that bridge when we get there, but first we have a few places to stop along the way.”
“You think we will get there?” You breathed.
“Yeah baby… I know we will. I think about it almost everyday.” he says.
“You do?” you whisper.
“Yeah Y/N. I…I know you’re the one. You always have been. I was stupid to ever let you go. I’m not going to make that mistake again. I swear.” he says, pushing the hair from your face.
“I love you Jake.” you say, wrapping your arms around his neck.
He pulls you down on top of him, holding you close to him as he kisses your head, “I love you too Y/N. I always always will. Until the day I die. I swear it.”
As you let him hold you, your mind raced again but a little more peacefully now, knowing that this was just the beginning. You’d started on a brand new journey, and family had taken on a whole new meaning. Facing it head on was going to be the challenge, but you felt stronger than ever. Ready to weather a new storm, with your compass heading set toward calmer seas.
But in the back of your mind lingered a persistent demon, one that had haunted and tormented you for years on end. And though you felt safe here in your lover’s arms, you knew that the storm was still brewing, waiting, ready to wash you away the second it could.

Cheer up Call [Peppino Spaghetti]
➜ Peppino Spaghetti x Jessica Rabbit like! Reader
➜ Pure Fluff, Suggestive Content!
➜ Peppino was having one hell of day, so his buddy Gustavo calls the one person who could brighten his mood up.
➜ No really big warnings, besides suggestive content (no full out smut today folks), cursing, the noise being...the noise. Reader being sassy and not putting up with anyone disrespecting Peppino.
➜ A/n: This was inspired by This Post by @thatgirlgames and- I LOVE THIS CONCEPT! I might write a full fic based off soon, anyways. Enjoy the fic and hope you enjoy!
✧ ▬▭▬ ▬▭▬ ✦✧✦ ▬▭▬ ▬▭▬ ✧
Peppino wanted to rip what little hair he had left out of his head.
There was a lunch time rush of customers, and normally that wouldn't be a bad thing. But these people were Rude.
They were rushing Peppino, yelling at poor Gustavo and Pep, one of whom barely could understand what they were yelling at. And poor brick, who they sometimes used to bring the pizza's to the customers, was getting kicked around too.
Then once that shitshow ended.
They trailed in.
Who's they one may ask? Well, The Noise and Pepperman. Two of the most annoying people in the world.
You see, after the destruction of the Pizza Tower that threatened his business the villains that inhabited the castle has no where to go.
Peppino took in his clone, allowing him to work along side him at his pizzeria.
The Vigilante did end up finding work at a bar down town.
Pepperman was an artist, so he wasn't out of a job in the first place. Neither did The Noise, he was a mascot for Domionions (don't know if spelt that right-). But they found great pleasure in coming to bother Peppino.
And today they decided to do just that.
Right after the rush, no more than an hour later they decided to come in.
"Hey Fat Man!~"
The Noise thought it would be a bright idea to bring a bomb inside the Pizzeria, which led to the group freaking out and trying to disarm the comically large thing.
Only for the thing to explode confetti all of the place.
Peppino let out a scream of frustration as he had to clean all of this up, and pray that no other customers came in.
Gustavo, saw how irritated his poor friend and coworker was. He knew the man was on the verge of having a mental breakdown.
So knowing what he must do. He pulled out his phone and quickly dialed a number.
Peeping around the corner, seeing Peppino angrily clean as he curses in Italian at the two trouble makers, he sighs in relief when someone answers.
"Hello? May I-a speak to Mrs. Spaghetti?"
✧ ▬▭▬ ▬▭▬ ✦✧✦ ▬▭▬ ▬▭▬ ✧
"Aw, what's the matter Italian man? You getting tired of your dear old friends?"
"You-a two are not any friends of-a mine..'
"He's right! We're just here visiting an old pal."
Peppino tapped his hand on the counter. He was counting down until he had to close up shop so those two could LEAVE.
He slammed his head on the counter, another deep groan of annoyance about to leave his body until the familiar chime of the bell.
Peppino didn't really want to deal with another customer right now so he kept his head down.
He only heard the conversations.
"Oooo~ who's the babe?"
"My, My I need to capture her beauty"
Peppino finally sat up, his eyes widening at who was standing in the middle of the pizzeria.
There was a (h/c) woman dressed in a business casual like dress. Her heels were high and her makeup was stunning. She held an irritated look on her face as she looked down at The Noise.
"Hey toots! I asked ya what ya-AH!!"
He didn't get to finish his sentence before he was smacked by her purse.
"I am a married woman thank you very much!" She said before turning on her heel, her anger instantly melting away when she set her eyes on Peppino.
"Darling!!" She quickly ran over and snatched the male from behind the counter, taking him into a hug.
Peppino felt his face heat up as he felt her litter his face with kisses.
"I came as soon as Gustavo called me! He said you were having such a bad day and you needed me!"
Peppino looked back at his dear friend who only gave him a thumbs up.
"Vita Mia, you didn’t have to-a get off work."
She scoffs placing another kiss on his cheek. "Nonsense! My Peppy was feeling down and I came to cheer you up!"
While this happened, Pepperman and The Noise stared in confusion.
"Um hello?! Ya can't keep kissing his face infront of us like that!!"
Peppino rolled his eyes and was about to speak before he was interrupted by the woman.
"Excuse you?! This is my husband, and right now, you're in his restaurant!!" She quickly snapped. "Now question me again and I'll shove my damn foot so-"
"Ah ah! T-thats enough-a Vita Mia. Do not waste-a your breath on them."
Pepperman speaks up before Noise can "Husband?! Not to be rude....um Mrs. Spaghetti..but-"
"My name is (Y/n) and-"
" Fuck it! Ill say it! How does someone like him get with someone like you?!" The Noise finished making (Y/n) sigh.
"Because, Peppino is a wonderful man, who makes me laugh, smile and does his hardest to make sure I'm okay" she says placing another kiss on her husband's cheek.
"That and I just love the way he sounds in the bedroom, the way he manhandles me and-"
Peppino hurried placed a hand over his wife's mouth as his face burns red with embarrassment.
"Tesoro Mio t-thats enough-"
"Oops~, sorry Peppy! But come on!" The (h/c) woman pulls him by his hand towards the exit. Pushing past the two males who stared on in confusion.
"B-but wait! What-a abou-"
"Gustavo said he'll close for you! I have a surprise waiting for you at home~" She winks at him turning the male into a stuttering mess.
Peppino doesn't get to respond before being pulled out the Pizzeria, leaving Gustavo, Brick, Pepperman and The Noise.
"How in the hell did he meet her?!"
"She just-a came in one day, from the big city-a and fell in love with Peppino at first sight."
"Huh????"
"Yea. Small world right?"

Heya Myst! For the 200 followers event (CONGRATS BTW! YOU DESERVE IT!), can I please request 🫐🧺 with lee! Sigma and ler! Nikolai (BSD). Romantic or platonic, I don't have a preference! Have a lovely day!
My Event Closes on the 22nd
Sigma stared at the food in front of him. Never in his entire life had he seen so many different things and never has he ever left his casino for the land below for something as odd as a picnic. Nikolai was truly an artistic person, picking out one of the fanciest blankets to sit on and finding a nice, shady spot away from other people. Not to mention the very organized way he spread all the food out. Sigma was amazed not only by how well prepared Nikolai was, but the fact that Nikolai somehow knew all his favorite food aside from sugar cookies.
“Hey, you look a little serious there, pal.” Nikolai said, breaking Sigma from his train of thought.
“Sorry, just thinking about things.” Sigma replied, about to bite into a turkey sandwich with his favorite type of cheese, mozzarella.
“Yknow, I wanna play a little game with you.~” Nikolai snickered when Sigma glared at him.
“No. Let me enjoy my sandwich in peace.” Sigma took another bite, praying that Nikolai would spare him for once.
“Oh come on! It’s quiz time!~”
Sigma all but choked on his sandwich. “Not now! I thought we were gonna relax and have what you call a “chill” day?!?”
“Relax, my friend!” Nikolai chuckled and sat next to Sigma, the younger man suddenly becoming very nervous and suspicious. “This is a chill day!”
“Not with you being…so close and acting like you’re up to something!” Sigma shoved Nikolai back. “Go away! I wanna eat in peace!!”
“Sorry, but I’m not leaving you alone until you stop stressing! There’s nothing to stress about!” Nikolai poked Sigma’s sides, smirking as he heard a squeak. “Ohhh…what’s this?~”
“Aaahh!!” Sigma slapped Nikolai’s hand away. “What are you doing?!”
“I’m poking you.” Nikolai replied, smiling as innocently as he could. “Why?”
“I-it’s annoying!”
“Mm…so if I keep doing this, you’ll get irritated enough to indulge in my quiz, right?”
Sigma flinched as Nikolai continued to poke his sides. Upon fingers poking his ribs, he had enough for one day. Sigma giggled but slammed his sandwich back into the bag and threw it back into the cooler, glaring daggers at the literal clown sitting next to him.
“Stop! I swear to god if you don’t stop…” Sigma began.
“What? You’ll what?” Nikolai taunted, grinning from ear to ear. “You’ll giggle?~”
No wonder Fyodor decided to decline the picnic invitation. Nikolai was just as chaotic as he always was even though one of his promises was to behave. Good for Fyodor, he didn’t have to deal with this absolute tomfoolery but unfortunately for Sigma, he was gullible enough to join Nikolai after much convincing.
“No! I don’t giggle!” Sigma growled. “Don’t you dare touch me!” Sigma pointed to the opposite end of the blanket. “Go all the way over there and eat your cream cheese stuffed sandwich! Gross by the way. Go over there before I hit you with all of this!”
“Come on! I’m not touching you.~” Nikolai sang, clearly touching Sigma by poking his sides repetitively. “See? Ooh! I think I heard a giggle! Is Siggy kun ticklish?~”
Sigma wanted nothing more than to make Nikolai choke on the darn apple he was now holding in his left hand. He hated that he was the man’s poking subject and yelled, falling over when Nikolai gave his sides a squeeze.
“Don’t cahahall m-me tha-AAHA!!” Sigma cupped his mouth as he fell over, glaring at Nikolai before giggles spilled from his lips. “Stooohohop!! I’ll kick your shi-hahaha!!
“Yippee!!” Nikolai sang, wrestling Sigma down with ease. “C’mon, Sigma kun! Let’s hear those giggles!~”
As much as Sigma didn’t want to giggle, Nikolai managed to force them out. Sigma didn’t know what sort of witchcraft this man was using but it certainly worked its magic, the younger of the two giggling himself absolutely silly.
Nikolai found Sigma’s ribs and smiled as his laughter rose in pitch. Sigma was going to probably scream at him and whack him with his sandwich bag and maybe one of the charcuterie boards after he finished but it was worth it to hear Sigma’s laughter.
A/N: Thanks for the request! I made this drabble a little short for two reasons, one I had no time and wrote this all in 10 min and two, I didn’t know how I was going to write Nikolai😅Hope I did ok!

It’s time for episode 6. I always start these thinking I won’t find much and it’ll be a short one, and then I’ll just keep finding details and the posts get pretty long
The recap editing strikes again. Immediately after Edwin tells Monty “I wasn’t talking about you” we get a shot of his hug with Charles
There are some colorful glasses up on the division between the spaces of Niko’s room (I don’t know the name of that thing) and I can just imagine Niko asking Jenny for a ladder to put them up there. Also there is a blue butterfly glued above her closet door
The sign with the name of Tragic Mick’s shop has a little fish jumping over it, which is really cute
When they first arrive at the shop and are talking with Mick, there is a figure on one of the shelves that kind of looks like a polar bear with a red dress
Niko’s card is pink and has like a cute bunny thing decoration. All of her things are adorable, I love her
It’s really funny just how terrible at lying all of these kids are. They are almost implausibly bad at it, and it’s always hilarious how the others just shrug and go with it
Speaking of, Monty flipping his hair and putting on a dramatic tone to tell them that his good friend has a problem is just peak. This boy is amazing, and his lying abilities fit right in with al the others (to his credit, none of the main kids realized he was a crow before the Cat King reveals the truth, so I guess it’s working for him)
The names for their potential cases are hilarious: Phantom Yodeler, Undead Milkman, Doppelganger Gang, Sentient Pants, Restless Piano Syndrome. (Can’t really make out what the last 2 say, but I can make out the words Cricket Wicket in one, and Gargoyle in the other)
Edwin has a little smile after Niko tells him he looks nice <3
I just realized that the reason Crystal’s attempt at pretending to read the tree is so bad is because she cannot tell that her eyes go white every time she uses her powers
Monty is immediately concerned when Charles says the elemental consumes ghosts. I love how clearly you can see the different emotions on his face, how you can tell the instant he starts to have second thoughts about this plan, even if he is still going to go through with it for revenge (for a little while at least)
Edwin’s science glasses are just for the drama/aesthetic, right? All of the others are standing right there by him without any glasses, so it’s not like they are for protection. Also you have to love the fact that he passes Charles the vial to throw it even though I’m sure it would have been the same if Edwin himself had done it? Charles doesn’t throw it too far, so it’s not like it required a lot of strength or anything. It’s just the way they do things, I guess. Edwin creates the potions, Charles throws them. Brains and brawn
I could be wrong, but I think that when the Night Nurse and Kashi are talking you can hear Angie’s heartbeat in the background
After Charles breaks all of David’s mirrors, the ground of Crystal’s mind place is full of glass (I think it wasn’t before, but my memory isn’t great so I could be wrong about this one too)
I’ve been thinking about since the episode 1 rewatch, but I think it’s interesting that none of the kids (minus Niko) made the connection between Monty the boy and Monty the witches familiar, given the way Esther yells Monty’s name after that first confrontation when they rescued Becky Aspen. I know it’s a wild connection to make, but Monty isn’t that common of a name, and they all were very much there when she yelled “Monty, shut up” at the screaming crow inside of her house. I don’t know, I think it could have been funny for Charles to fixate on Edwin’s new pal having the same name as Esther’s crow, and then for the others to dismiss it as jealousy. It would be hilarious, and it’d give Charles a chance to be all “I told you so” after the reveal
All of the chairs around the table by Crystal’s tree are a little different
Petition to make Crystal part of the Brawn team in the agency, because the way she fights Esther is vicious. She should get to beat the shit out of more enemies next season
Charles sounds like he’s been crying right after Crystal rescues the two of them. His voice is all watery and broken even though he’s smiling
One of Niko’s cushions on her windowsill has an octopus on it
Ghosts don’t have reflections, but they do have shadows. I guess shadows would be harder to remove irl? I noticed the shadows during the scene where they’re thinking of a name for Crystal’s move
The Night Nurse says she’s been working at that post for over two million hours, which means (according to google) that she’s been at the Lost and Found department for almost 230 years. No wonder she’s so done with everyone’s bullshit. Imagine working the same shitty job for over 200 years

Hey! I really enjoy your Band of Brothers and The Pacific writings so much! I wanted to ask if you could write something on Burgin (he’s my absolute fav and I feel he is greatly underrated)!!! I wanted to request something as well about him returning back home to Texas after the war and trying to impress a girl from his hometown that he comes across someday (whom he knew of before he left to go to the war but never really spoke to he before). She’s a bit hard to impress and is rather introverted but nothing I don’t think Burgin can’t handle haha. Thanks so much 💖
Cinnamon and Chocolate
Word count: 6.2k
Warnings: Swearing, kissing, mentions of war, mentions of burn injuries, jealousy, and drinking.
a/n: Hey friend, I hope you enjoy!! This is probably the longest thing i’ve wrote in a while, so please excuse any mistakes!! I honestly got so carried up with this oneshot lol but I love it so much! Hope you all enjoy!! (Also, please note that there are a lot of historical inaccuracies and this story is in no way disrespect to any real life veterans, this one-shot is solely based off the character in the show! Everything else is fictional! :))
(R.v. Burgin x fem reader)
Today was arguably the calmest day he’s had in years. Just him, and his best friend from back home, Chris, on the back of his pickup truck drinking two cold Coca-Colas. (which he had dearly missed the taste of.) They were downtown on a nice Saturday afternoon enjoying the nice weather. It was the most relaxed he’s felt in a while, the nice breeze patting his back made him feel at peace. A feeling he deserved after a long time from home, there weren’t any bombs blasting behind him, or heavy gunfire going off right beside his ear, instead it was quiet. He was glad to be back home.
It was only his second day back in Texas and there she was. She and a couple of her friends were walking out of a clothing store when his eyes caught a glimpse of hers. She was laughing and giggling about something that R.V. couldn’t quite catch, but he couldn’t take his eyes off of her even if he wanted to. He could have sworn she was an angel.
The sunlight was bouncing off of her skin during midday, making her bright and bubbly laughter feel radiant. It’s like he could see no one else but her, or at least until he felt his friend, Chris elbow his side hard, it was the kind of force only a friend of many years could give him.
“Like whatcha’ see, pal?” Chris said with a slight smirk that R.V. could hear in his voice. “Oh shut up. I’ve just never seen her around before.” R.V. remarked looking back at Chris. He had to know more about this girl. “Oh R.V., you’ve missed a lot while you’ve been gone”, Christopher laughed, his voice honing in on R.V. as if he told an inside joke that Burgin had no clue of. “What’s that supposed to mean?” R.V. turned back to his friend to give him a questioning glance before taking a big sip of his Coca-Cola. “Man, that’s y/n, we all went to school together?” Chris chirped enthusiastically as if he’d been waiting for Burgin to ask.
A smile now appeared on his face, one that he hadn’t shown in a while. He started to see the resemblance now, remembering your sweet smile from years ago. “She’s really grown into her looks, hasn’t she?” Chris said happily, still staring at you. R.V. rolled his eyes in response. Sure you had grown up, if that’s what Chris meant. All three of you had, but to Burgin, you hadn’t changed a bit.
He had always thought of you as beautiful, even when you yelled at him in front of the whole first grade after putting a small toad that he had found in the woods, in the classroom's dollhouse during recess. He knew how reserved and quiet you were, and to get such a heated reaction from you.. Well he was shocked, but he also felt a new feeling that he couldn’t quite grasp, one that made his heart race whenever you were near. “Do you know what she’s up to these days?” He asked Chris and quickly scolded himself for not recognizing you at first. In his defense, he had really forgotten everyone from home other than his family and Chris after a while.
Chris was an Anchor-Clanker during the war, one hell of a sailor before coming back home. It seemed like Chris had found adjusting back to civilian lifestyle very easy. It's something that R.V. couldn’t quite agree with. He knew that it would take time of course, but coming back home has been like a whole new world for him, very different from the lifestyle he’s had for these past few years.
Chris took a swig of his cola as if it were beer before replying. “I think she still lives with her ma and pa, she left to Houston to become a Gray Lady a little after you left for basic. Hell, I think she came back home only a week ago.” R.V. thought to himself after what Chris had said. Only a couple days back home, just like him.
He studied her face as she walked down the street with her friends, noticing how she used her hands exaggeratedly to explain something to the other girls with her. It was only a matter of time until she got swept up by some other soldier coming back home, or at least that’s what he thought. He didn’t realize how much he felt the void of female presence until he saw you. His heart fluttered when you glanced his way, your smile sent him butterflies all over his body. This was his chance to make a move before it was too late. He couldn’t think about anything else other than getting closer to you.
Before he could announce to Chris what he was going to do, his body was already off of the truck, setting his cola aside and walking across the street towards you and your friends, not taking the time to wait until the cars near the crosswalk were gone. It’s like his body worked faster than his mind, like he was doing only what felt right in the moment. He wasn’t exactly sure what he was going to say or do when he got to you, but he couldn’t pass up the chance to talk to you either way.
“Where are you going?!” He could hear Chris in the background, but he didn’t have time to answer. His heart was racing, and his pulse was getting quicker with each step closer towards you. A smile appeared on his face once he made it to you and your friends, and with a long breath and a questioning stare from the girls you had with you, he finally spoke up. “Can I ask you a question?” He felt nervous waiting for your response. The silence was almost deafening. All of your friends looked at you waiting for a reply. “Yes, R.V, it is, right?” You gave him a response that he was hoping for, your sweet voice filling his ears making his cheeks a small shade of red.
He felt even more nervous being this close to you, now he had gotten to see all of the little features on your face that he couldn’t while he was on the truck. He was too focused looking at you to think of anything else, a common reoccurrence. “I,-“ He paused, thinking about what he should say, before coming to a conclusion. “How are you so beautiful?” He said breathlessly. He felt embarrassment almost immediately. He put his hand over his mouth in regret and moved his hand down to his chin smoothly to make him look in shock. His inside thoughts had finally come out and spoke for themself. Before he knew it, there was an eruption of laughter between you and your friends. He took his hand and rubbed behind his neck in an attempt to cover his embarrassment. What came over him suddenly to make him say that? “That was a good one, R.V.!” You said with a giggle.
If making a fool out of himself made you smile, then he was more than happy to be foolish. He laughed along with you very awkwardly in an attempt to seem unfazed, like it was a joke in the first place. “I’ll see you around” You smiled softly before heading off with your friends, leaving him. He waved you a goodbye, one that you couldn’t see because your back facing him, before walking back to Chris. Who was now sitting at the end of the truck and dangling his feet off of the end, looking amused.
When R.V. made it to the truck, Chris started clapping. “I think you’re a real ace at talking to broads, pal!” Chris started breaking out into laughter before Burgin could admit to his defeat. “It’s okay, I’ll find a chance to talk to her again. Alone hopefully.” He said to Chris with confidence, although his inner feelings were quite different. He grabbed his cola and scooted himself back onto the truck so he was sitting next to Chris. He huffed in disappointment and slumped down slightly, drinking the last bit of his cola. “You’ll get ‘em next time” Chris replied a little more seriously after seeing a somber look take over R.V’s face. “Yeah, next time for sure.”
2 weeks later
“Are you ready, boys?!” R.V. heard his mother shout from downstairs, still waiting for R.V. and his father. The urgency in her voice was making him button up his coat even faster than his previous speed.
Of course his father’s workplace would have their huge yearly party right around the time that he came back home, and to be completely honest, he was dreading it. The empty conversations with little to no life in them, the awkward stares after being gone for so long, and it didn’t help that his parents were making him wear his dress blues, although it was a social cocktail party with high formality, he was worried he would stick out like a sore thumb.
He could already see his future. Having to answer questions upon questions from women and men, overwhelming him to find the right and appropriate answers. He let out a big sigh, calming his brain for the events ahead. The thought alone overwhelmed him. He already wanted this party to be over before it had even begun.
Just a slip on of his white gloves and he was done getting ready. He couldn’t delay going downstairs any longer. R.V’s father opened his door slowly, right on cue as if he somehow felt R.V.’s hesitance. “Are ya’ ready, son?” R.V. 's dad said as peered through the door. He was in his Sunday best, with a black suit and tie of course. “Yeah, I'm ready.” R.V. replied with a shake of his head. His father could tell his nervousness just by the expression on R.V.’s face. “You got this son, it’ll be nothing” His father replied, giving him a sweet smile and a pat on the back that gave him somewhat of a relief. They both walked out of his room and started down the steps. “Hey, you might even find someone there.” He said going down the steps quicker than R.V. did, putting him behind his father. He thought about what his dad said for a second, stopping right at the last step. What if you happened to be there by some chance?
“You look great, honey. I’m so proud.” His mother said, causing him to break out of his thoughts. Both his ma and pa were waiting for him by the door so that they could be on their way to the party. “Thanks ma, glad to be back.” He replied with a close lipped smile as he got stepped down from the last step. His mother hugged him tightly before he could say anything else. He quickly accepted the hug and hugged her back softly.
“You guys ready?” His pa said, opening the front door of their home. He unwrapped his arm from her before walking out of the door, his mother following quickly after with his father. It was going to be one interesting night for the Burgins indeed.
~~~
When they arrived he could see the gate wide open for its guests, revealing the house to his eyes where he could finally see how big it was. He didn’t think his father had that many co-workers. It was a great large venue in the middle of nowhere. Cars were parked out front in no specific order, in the grass or what small areas of gravel they could find.
The party was hosted at the old vineyard house that everyone in town loved because of its extravagant beauty. It was now used as some sort of banquet hall for the town's use. The sun was setting making the view look picturesque. Some people were outside, with the finest dresses and long glasses of champagne in their hands. Probably some sort of small talk about the weather, or about the party, And some were inside, most likely doing the same exact thing.
Their car was finally parked as they walked closer towards the house, the closer he got to the building, he could tell how big it really was. As they had finally made it onto the porch, He heard a somewhat familiar voice call out to him, “Romus, oh how nice you look! I’m glad to see you here!” He turned his head to his left to see who the commenter was. He smiled when he saw who it was. One of his old school teachers from primary school. If he had to pick, she would have been his favorite teacher out of all the years he’d ever learned. He shook his head to himself slightly at the use of his first name, no one ever really called him that except for his mother when she was mad at him, but he didn’t pay much mind to it. It was nice to see someone familiar to him in this unknown place.
“It’s nice to see you, Miss. How have you been?” he replied softly as she came closer to him. He could tell she had aged from the last time he had seen her, but she still kept her sweet smile that he remembered from when he was a little boy. It seemed as if R.V. hadn’t changed that much to her either, “You’re still sweet as apple pie! It is surely nice to see you!” She replied in her nice southern accent. He could smell a strong scent of liquor coming from her mouth as she got closer.
“It’s nice seeing you too ma’am” He chuckled slightly to himself when he saw the small amount of drink she had left in her cocktail. It was more than obvious she had gotten a little too happy at the bar before the party barely even started. "Now you have yourself a time, alright?” She said, loudly walking back to her friends and not giving him a chance to reply.
When he looked around for his parents, he could see that they had already left him and made their way inside of the big ballroom. It looked like he would have to find his way around here tonight alone. As he walked into the venue he looked around attentively, to look for his parents, (who were most likely swept away by other coworkers and friends), but to also take in the extravagance of the building first hand.
Old floral wallpapers adorned the wall, and there were big windows all around the huge room that overlooked the vineyard. He could tell that the place had been renovated heavily, as it once was a house and now had become one big ballroom. The ceiling stood high with multiple big crystal chandeliers that lit up the space. It was open and spacious for all, with the room mainly used for dancing and talking. There were poseur tables and chairs on the sides of the floor, where people ate and drank whatever the party had to offer. The catering service had a little station in the corner of the grand room that had canapes of all sorts. And there was no way he could have missed the built-in bar with stored glassware and drinks of all kinds.
R.V. could have imagined that this same room was used for similar parties years ago under different circumstances. Maybe large debutante balls that had groups playing loud classical music instead of the sweet jazz they had tonight, or maybe even a mysterious masquerade ball that had unique masks with people that talked very differently then what they do now. As his thoughts swarmed, he wasted no time taking himself to the bar.
As the time went by, the events of the party were what R.V. expected. Overwhelming. Boring. Small talk with people he barely remembered or didn’t even know, was the norm at this event for him. He didn’t expect anything different tonight. He found himself back at the bar table over and over again, hoping that there would be a new conversation each time he wandered back over there. Yet, after an hour and a half of walking around in circles and bar visits, just a small buzz later, he figured he had met just about everyone in the whole damn building.
He found himself getting more bored by the minute. That is, until his favorite song, “Pennsylvania 6-5000” Started to erupt through the room played by the lovely band.
He got up almost immediately, as if there was some magnetic force pulling him to the dance floor. Maybe it was the same force that pulled him to you on that sunny day two weeks ago.
As R.V. descended to the dance floor, he quickly noticed a familiar figure in a striking red dress across the room. His heart started to pick up speed almost immediately and he could feel his stomach jump with excitement. All he could see in that moment was you as your gaze met him in the crowd. He didn’t expect to see you here, but it changed his night almost instantaneously. You were by yourself, watching the groups of dancers in joy and swaying your body along softly with the music. He felt such a relief knowing that you were here. This was his chance to talk to you formally one-on-one and apologize for what had happened two weeks ago.
The feeling in his chest started to quicken much more when he took in detail of your dress’s design, and he would be lying if he said that looking at you in such a magnificent dress didn’t leave him a little breathless. Like the previous encounter between you two before, he didn’t waste his time making his way towards you. That is until R.V. saw him.
Him as in the guy who brought you a glass of lemonade with your coat draped over his arm, the guy who whispered something in your ear that made you giggle. He stopped his way to you abruptly. Making him accidentally displace a young couple who was dancing with quick speed. “Watch it, pal!” He heard the guy he bumped into say sharply. R.V. had heard him, but everything had started to sound distant. He looked over at you with his jaw clenched in an attempt to hide his emotions, but his eyes told no lie.
The look he gave to you was forlorn. It all made sense to him now, when you had been short with him that day. It was all because you had someone else the entire time. That feeling in his chest turned from good to sour. He needed to get away for a second, the feeling of fresh air was now becoming a need for him.
He quickly moved his way off of the dance floor and charged toward the big entry doors. Once he felt the outside air hit his face he felt relieved. R.V. hadn’t realized how much you really meant to him until he saw you swept away by someone else. He looked around and finally settled for a seat on the outside steps.
It was now dark out, and no one was outside at this point. Just him, the parked cars, and the occasional chirp of a bird. Other than that he was completely alone with his thoughts. He had made his mind up then and there. He would excuse himself from the party with a “sick stomach” and just walk home. That seemed like the best thing to do at the moment.
He wasn’t up for dancing, getting drunk at the bar, or having to act like he cared about any of the stupid stuff this party provided. He sat up from the stairs and thought about leaving without saying a word for a second. Sure his parents would worry, but if anything he could handle himself. He walked down the stairs and planted his feet on the gravel. Other thoughts rushed through his head too. They were thoughts of you, like how he felt when he heard your sweet laugh after so long, or that one time in junior high when you gave him the last answer on a science test he hadn’t studied for, even with the chance that you would have gotten in trouble too. The sound of your voice whenever you spoke, and those gentle eyes of yours…
He was now contemplating back and forth. All of these thoughts of you suddenly came rushing through his head and swamped him with the realization that he can’t let you go. His mind had made a new decision now. Instead of going home, he was going to go back inside and just try to talk to you.
R.V. took a nice long breath, making sure to steady himself before walking back into the party. The laughter and music from inside started to get closer as he walked up the small stairs to the porch and took a couple big steps towards the door. But before he could make it inside, someone bumped into him hard, making him take a step back.
He looked up to quickly realize it was you. Time seemed to stand still at that moment. It was now silent. His eyes met yours once again. Locking and not letting go. No words were spoken, just the mutual look at one another. You stared at him for what felt like an eternity. Neither of you had begun to speak or move. It’s like everything stopped for a second. R.V. 's brain started to short circuit after staring into your eyes for so long. He didn’t want to break eye contact and waited for the right time to speak up, but before he even opened his mouth, you beat him to it.
“Hey, R.V.” You sounded almost surprised to see him, especially after the way he vanished moments ago. It was obvious, you could tell he was nervous. He didn’t reply, but was silent. Maybe it was because he was waiting for you to say something else, or he just couldn’t find the right words to say. You continued before giving him a chance to speak, just as he figured out what to say. “I saw that you were walking out and just wanted to tell you that you looked nice, I also want to apologize if I hurt your feelings the last time we spoke, I meant no harm.”
He looked at you with a deep guise on his face when you apologized. He stared at you while you said it. He found it hard to read the look on your face. He spoke up, “Please don’t apologize, I didn’t mean to trouble you and your friends, but please know that I did mean what I said.” He paused before taking a leap of faith. “You’re beautiful, y/n” He could see a dark crimson creep up on your face lightly. He didn’t feel the need to take back his words like last time. His compliment to you wasn’t forced or awkward, it was soft and warm, like a hug.
“Thank you, really” You said, breaking out into a small giggle, one that he adored most. He could feel the awkward tension ease after your laughter. He now felt the time was right to take yet another leap of faith tonight. “It’s alright if you don’t want to, knowin’ you have a date and all, but would you like to dance with me?” He felt his heart pound in his chest, almost worried it would break free out of his sweaty dress blues.
He hoped that you couldn’t hear the sound of his heart beating so quickly, he didn’t want you to feel his nervousness. “I would love to.” you looked up at him with a warm smile, one that made him feel at ease. His heart slowly pumped back to its original, calmer pace.
“Just a warning though, I'm not the best dancer.” You winced, thinking of the countless times you’ve danced before. He laughed at your expression before replying, “I'm not the best dancer either.” He could remember the first time he had ever danced with a girl. He tripped over his shoe strings and felt embarrassed the entire night.
He put his left hand out as an offering, which you gladly accepted. You and him stepped back into the big room hand-in-hand. He took the lead in front of you, making way towards the dance floor. He felt butterflies in his stomach when he realized how soft your hand was, so delicate and smooth. He felt excitement take over him when he realized that you and him were finally going to share this moment together.
You and him quickly made it onto the dance floor just in time for the band to start playing a tune that R.V. recognized almost immediately, the classic, “Undecided” by Chick Webb and Ella Fitzgerald. Now this is a song he could definitely dance to.
It seemed as if R.V. couldn’t hold back his feet any longer. He took you by the hand and spun you out, only for you to dance back to him in a twist, in tune with the lively beat of the music. Look at that! You were a natural! Your footwork mixed with his almost perfectly, like cinnamon and chocolate, while you and him danced around the room. A smile erupted from his face as he watched the nervousness melt off of your body. You moved your body around at a quick pace, looking back up at him with a smile. If he wasn’t in such a groove, he probably would have tripped over his feet and made a fool of himself. He watched you dance attentively, while also still making sure to keep up with you. If only Chris had been here to watch all of this.
—
R.V. clapped with you as the music stopped. It was the third song you and him danced to of the night. With all of the excess movement you and him both felt tired. Good thing the band was taking a break right when the third song ended. “You were being humble when you commented on your dancing earlier” R.V. said with a laugh.
It was true that you could swing like no other. He was mesmerized watching you move. He felt a knot in his stomach when he realized how close he was to you the entire time that you and him danced. “I could say the same for you! You’re one good dancer” You exchanged a giggle in return.
Both of you moved off of the dance floor and found a poseur table with two barstools, a perfect seat for you two after a long time of dancing. “I’ll go get us something to drink, want anything?” He said to you as you placed a seat on one of the barstools. He felt content being the one to offer you a drink instead of someone else. “Just a Coke please!” You replied to his question softly.
He made his way to the bar, and upon his arrival asked for two Colas, which was a shock to the bartender considering that he had drank only beers up until now. “Hiya son! Having fun? I saw you dancing with a pretty gal!” R.V.’s father popped up behind him, patting his shoulder. He chuckled at what his father said. “Pretty indeed. Where’s ma?” R.V. replied back as the bartender handed him two cold sodas.
“Oh you know her, talking to some friends of hers. I just wanted to check up on you and see how you were doing. Me and your mother might leave soon, we’ve had one heck of a night” His father said with a smile. R.V. smiled too. He could already see his mom 50 feet away talking with some of the other moms there, she always enjoyed chirping to her friends, even if it was about nothing at all. “What’s her name?” His pa said, not really giving R.V. a chance to say anything else, even though he probably wouldn’t have said much at all. “Y/n”, As R.V. said that, he looked towards you. You were looking around the room and swinging your legs on the stool. He thought you looked adorable. “She looks like a nice girl. You be good to her.” “I will” R.V. replied to his father, still holding the two sodas in his hand. “See ya, pa!” R.V. got up from his seat and progressed towards you carefully. Making sure not to drop your drink or his.
Once he got to the table he handed you your drink before sitting on the other stool. You and him sipped your drinks in silence for a moment. The band had finally picked back up, and as expected, more couples piled onto the dancefloor. It was later into the night so the band had slowed to more softer, slow paced music compared to before, but it was still more than enjoyable. “Where is he? Your date?” R.V. asked you, taking his straw and swirling it around his drink.
You looked up at him before speaking. “Oh, Arthur? I wasn’t really his date” You shook your head in explanation. “We’re friends. Him and I met during the war. He had no one else to bring and he thought I could use a change of scenery.” You explained to him. It sort of made sense to R.V. now. He waited to say something until he was sure she was finished talking. “He’s already spoken for. As you can see over there” You pointed your finger to Arthur. Who was at the moment slow dancing with a pretty blonde on his chest. “He needed some extra encouragement.” You laughed, waving at Arthur, who also gave a wave back. Ohhh. R.V. finally understood now, just friends. She was here to help him talk to the girl he was dancing with now. He scolded himself for thinking otherwise earlier, even though they seemed pretty exclusive moments before.
“Oh, that’s real’ nice of you. R.V. said, taking a big sip of his drink, feeling the carbonation sizzle down his throat. “Is that why you left earlier?” You said, looking at him with an accusatory smirk. He had now been caught. R.V. felt like you could read right through him. He didn’t have to explain himself, because you already knew. “No way.” He said sarcastically, still holding a playful manner in hopes of sparking up a conversation full of banter between you two. The night had started slow, but became swift in the end. You and him, dancing, talking and laughing together, it felt perfect.
The moment felt right, so you spoke up. “R.V., do you maybe want to walk me home? It’s getting awful late and I would love to talk with you more.” You looked at him waiting for an answer. “Of course.” He replied with a toothy grin. You and him both finished your drinks and said goodbyes to the company that brought you and him here. “Pa, I’m walking my gal home. I’ll see you at the house” R.V. said to his Father who was most likely about to leave himself. “Alright, kiddo. You two be safe!”
His father smiled at you and R.V. before going back to his conversation with R.V.’s mother. He took your hand, making you feel butterflies when he did, and led you out of the big ballroom with him.
It was quiet outside other than the sound of crickets chirping and cars buzzing as they left the huge building. “My house isn’t far. I live practically next door.” You said walking down the steps with him. You and R.V. were now side by side, with your arm wrapped around his. “Really? I bet you got a pretty view from your place then.” R.V replied back with a chuckle. He could only imagine how the nice pastures out here looked from your home. “Well not really my house, it’s my parents. I used to come out here when I was a little girl, walk my way through the fields to the abandoned vineyard. I danced on the creaky wooden floors and dreamed of having a party here, in real life.” He could imagine, younger you dancing lively in the big building, behind you and him. “Well you got your dream tonight, didn’t you?” He turned his head to you to give you a big grin. You and him had now made it out of the gravel area and towards the fields, away from the old road. “I did. Thank you for having such a fun time with me.” You spoke softly. R.V. could hear the sleepiness in your voice. He would be lying if he said he didn’t feel a little tired himself. Before he knew it your head was tilted on his shoulder, taking refuge in the comforting warmth. It was quiet for a moment. Not an awkward silence, but a calm one. Neither of you felt the need to talk, just listening to the breath of one another was just as fine. “How’d you meet Arthur?” R.V. was the first one to break the silence, the random question had suddenly popped up into his head and made him wonder. “I met him at the hospital I volunteered at. He was injured badly during Pearl Harbor.” You continued, “ He was hospitalized for months and months, First at the Naval Hospital in Hawaii, and then sent to Houston. He had severe burns all over his body. When I first volunteered, I didn’t know what I was doing half the time, I was overwhelmed to say the least. He was always nice to me, like a big brother. He had already been there for so long, it seemed like he knew more than I did.” You exhaled when you finished. R.V. cleared his throat before speaking. “Oh…” R.V. trailed off, “that must have been real hard for him.” He grimaced to himself when he thought of how bad some of the burns must have been. He had witnessed it before, with some of his friends, he wouldn’t wish that type of pain on anyone. “It was. But he made it out alright after all. And now he’s dancing with a girl he could only dream of.” The way you said it, in such a positive way, gave him hope. Hope for lots of new beginnings, a fresh start. That the things he saw or did, couldn’t define him anymore. He wasn’t in the Pacific. He was home, with you, and he sensed that this was the best he had felt in forever. As you and him were talking, neither of you noticed how close your house was, finally in clear view, maybe 50 yards away. “R.V. Can I ask you a question?” You took your head off of his shoulder, only to look up at him. “How do you feel, after coming home?” R.V. thought about it for a moment. He hadn’t really had anyone ask him a question like that. He wasn’t sure what to say, so he gave a comical answer. “Better, now that I'm sleeping on a soft bed.” He said with a beam on his face. Once he gave his answer, you and him had both finally made it to your house. To R.V. It looked like a warm place. A cozy home that made you feel relaxed whenever you spent time in it. “Well, I guess this is it. Thank you for walking me home. “You said, taking him up the steps of your porch. He was now facing you with your hands holding his. R.V. didn’t want this night to end between you two. He wanted to keep talking to you. To ask you more questions, but he could tell you were already so tired, so he kept it short, “When will I be able to see you again?”
You gave him a grin that showed your teeth. “Soon, hopefully.” It was just you and him now, again facing one another in complete silence. It seemed like R.V. ran out of words, and all he could do was look at those soft lips of yours, how nice they looked… R.V. brought his hands up to you, cupping your face. He wanted to kiss you so badly, but felt hesitance. “Can I?” He said in a soft whisper. “Yes”, you replied. If he hadn’t been listening, he wouldn’t have heard you. Before you knew it, you felt his lips melt into yours slowly. He felt goosebumps as he closed the gap between you two. He wanted to savor the moment with you as best as he could. When your lips parted his, his lips moved up to your forehead, giving you a soft kiss there. The gentle gesture made you visibly blush, which made his heart beat even fast. “Goodnight.” He said, retracting his hands from your face, and placing them by his side. “Goodnight” You replied quietly, before opening the door of your home, and walking inside. When he heard the door shut fully, he started to make his way down your steps in victory. He had one hell of a night. A night he wouldn’t forget, because it was a night brought him, you.
Hope you enjoyed this again!! If you enjoyed, please like or reblog! 💗💗
Lyrics
Mafia boss Bucky x singer! Reader
Sum- you and Bucky had been together for 3 years before he left, he had even put a ring on your finger. You never knew why he left but it broke you to peices. One day he comes to the club you sing at and you change the song to show him how much your hurting.
Warning- mention of breakup, cussing, sad ending (if you want a good ending ask for it. For now you get to cry.) mention of guns, vehicle destruction.
This is part 1
Part 2 ‘letter’
Part 3 ‘love’
I’d rather go blind by Beyoncé (Etta james)
Bucky walks in a few of his body guards following close behind.
“Bucky!” Steve calls from the other side of the room. He walks over giving his friend a hug smiling.
“How have you been.?” He asks
“Im alright you?” Bucky asks
“Yeah I’m good, hey I gotta treat for you tonight we hired this girl a few months back she’s got an amazing voice. Her name is pudding she’s fucking incredible.” Steve says.
Bucky chuckles
“You got strippers too now?” He asks Stevelaughs
“That’s next week pal” he says other people begin to gather in and pretty soon the show begins to start the lights dim and music begins to play.
Bucky takes his seat in the middle table around the best row. Buckys ear perk as the steady melody hits his heart the familiar music. The curtain opens revealing you.
Bucky sits up his eyes widening. You seem to notice him and sigh rolling your eyes you walk off to the side as the music cuts you walk back in the stage and a different song plays. Bucky frowns confused if your okay. Seeing you in the beautiful skin right dress your make up done and hair falling down your back.
The music begins to play again but it’s a different song.
You begin to sing the song your wrote after Bucky had left you. The lyric hit his ears as he begins to realized just how much he hurt you. He didn’t get to tell you why, didn’t give a reason, didn’t leave a note, or a text, he left 1 million dollars in your bank account and you in the California king bed in his pent house that he’d left in your name.
Something told me it was over (Yeah)
When I saw you and her talking deep
Something deep down in my soul said cry girl (cry, cry)
When I saw you and that girl walking around whoo ooh
You remaine your glaze on him feeling tears begin to fall down your cheeks. Your voice becomes stronger as you sing about how he hurt you.
I would rather, I would rather go blind boy Then to see you walk away from me child naw naw whoo ooh
Bucky runs his fingers through his hair sighing as he ties it up in a bun, looking down not being able to bear your face now tear stained. He’d always promised you he’d never hurt you even though he left to keep you safe he needed you. When steve had asked him if he’s been alright that wasn’t the truth.
He left 6 months ago and hasn’t had a good night sleep since. He’s more hostile to his empylees and takes less bullshit than he did with you. You keep him sane, calm, loved…Happy.
So you see I love you so much that I don't wanna watch you leave me baby
Most of all I just don't
I just don't wanna be free now whoo ooh, Woo oh
Bucky feels a lump in his throat something he hasn’t felt since you had yes to marrying him the pure joy the engulfed him but now it was filled with sadness. Pain that he’d been hiding this entire time.
That ring still on your finger it glistens in the stage light. ‘Why do you still wear it if you’re so hurt?’ ‘why dont you look away from him?’ ‘do you still love him?”
I was just, I was just, I was just sitting here thinking of your kiss, And your warm embrace yeah When a reflection in a glass that I held to my lips now baby Revealed these tears that are on my face whoo ooh
Bucky gets up from his seat sniffing before finishing the glass of bourbon steve so kindly placed in his hand. He takes on last look at you before walking off his body guards follow. He walks out of the club before letting out a yell not angry not to cause attention of pure pain pissed off at himself for not treating you right in the end you deserved a goodbye, a reason, you deserve better that too much money and shit memories.
And baby, and baby, baby I'd rather be blind boy
Then to see you walk away
Walk away from me yeah ”FUCK! FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!” Bucky yells kicking his car and breaks off the side mirror chucking it through the windshield. He punches the door of the car denting it in his metal arm making sparks fly before drawing his gun and shooting it until the ammo is out.
And baby, baby, baby I'd rather be blind boy
Then to see you walk away, Walk away from me
He falls to his knees beginning to sob. Still being able to hear your voice from outside the club as it dies down into Applause then default music begin to play.
Bucky pants sobbing into the black asphalt not even realizeing your steps up to him you kneel down in front of him. He looks up his hair disheveled falling out of the bun it was once tied up in a bun.
You see his tired face the stubble and bag under his eyes. His blue eyes darkened and red by the tears.
“Im sorry…im so so sorry.” His voice breaks.
You nod. Your eyebrows knit together. Tears stream down his face. You place you hand on his cheek he leans into it. Yo lean into him kissing his lips to which he immediately kisses you back.
Lips against his for a few more seconds before you pull away and looking into his eyes his gaze softening. You look down at you hand the ring glistening against your skin. You take it off and take his hand placing it in him palm.
“Y/n..” he begins.
“You left me…but you forgot this.” You say before getting up and walking back into the club. Bucky pleads out watching you walk away.
🎅🏼JJ Claus, JJ Claus, Swinging Thru Midtown ~ 🎶
Summary: Basically JJ is Santa hehe answering questions from the letter he’s been sent and being a bit questionable idk haha 🤷🏻♀️
Honorable mentions: Tooth Fairy 🧚🏼♀️ (Liane), Jack Frost ☃️ (Ji-Hoon), Sandman ⏳(Ethan), Mrs. Claus 🤶🏻(Liz) and his elves
Note: With a few other names popping up 😉 here and there!!
~~
Santa appears in his chair and smiles. He picks up the first letter and reads.
“Oh this one is from Sid. It reads, ‘Yo Santa! Why don’t you ever come to my house? I’ve been nice all year, stupid.’…” JJ read and gave a deadpan look at the camera. “That’s why, kiddo. Every time I gave you a toy you blow it up and destroy them with such cruelty. Change your attitude, then let’s talk. And be nice to your sister, that’s all I ask. Jeez…kids these days.”
He takes his head and reads the next one, “Aw this one is from Georgia Romanoff. It reads, ‘Oh my gosh Santa hi! Can I get a toy sword for Christmas? My brother wants more books for his collection, magical fantasy books. Please! Oh! Are your elves real or fake? Ohhh! Are you friends with the tooth fairy too?’ Aw, sure kiddo I can do definitely do that. As for my Elves, they definitely real. Actually they’re basically like my spies on the inside and report back to me. And yeah, I’m friends with the other guys.”
~~~
~~~~~
Tooth fairy flies around playing with the stuffed animals and squeals, “Ah! These are so adorable. I only give out money to kids, not toys. JJ can we trade?”
Ji-Hoon Frost rolls his eyes playing with a ball of snow, “That’s not how it works, Lia. You give out cash, and Jolly JJ gives out presents while working one night a year. Don’t you just work almost every week and collect memories of the children, to remind them of their childhood experiences when needed?”
“Yeah, I mean my job is special! No one can fly faster than a buzzing bee than me and do it without anyone noticing.”
“Pff, I notice…”
“Shut up! All you do is throw snowballs and whatever!”
“I bring a little fun to the children. Ever heard of a snow day?”
Liane grumbled frustrated, “See! I wanna bring fun to kids as well, I wanna gift them toys! But your idiotic logic doesn’t let me!” Without a second later, her temper flared up and she burst the stuffed animal as its face began to rise in flames. “Oops.”
JJ opened his mouth to say something but before he could say anything, Ji-Hoon winked and with a flick of his wrist froze the entire stuffed animal before it can get out of hand.
“That’s why you don’t bring toys to children.” Ji Hoon remarked smirking, “Right, JJ?”
He just nodded chuckling, “Yeah. But you’re both amazing at your roles, remember that.”
~~~~
~~~~~~~
JJ sat up in his chair remembering that time chuckling, “I love those guys. Even if my elves might get a bit intimidated by them, but it’s all good fun. Tooth has a fire but it’s amazing, because it’s means she doesn’t always stop when she’s down and keeps going. Ji is our trusted friend here, creating a chill atmosphere and keeping everyone in check at the same time.”
He picks up another letter and reads it, “Aw, it says ‘Dear Santa, my name is Astrid. I want a pet cat for Christmas and new journals, please and thank you. I am curious, do you have help with your Christmas Eve night? Like your elves?’ Aw, thank you sweetheart. I’ll see what I can do about your wish this year. As for your question, I do have some help from an old pal…”
~~~
Santa sneaks into the house with Ethan, also known as Sandman, wanting to make sure no one was awake as he pulled out the presents from the stack. A woman with short hair, named Luna, was asleep on the couch. Ethan helped him with a soft smile excitedly as he hoped Riley, Bella and the other kids loved the toys. The living room tree was lit brightly and shiny with all the colors ornaments.
“This is gonna be amazing!” He whispered yelled grinning then his eyes widened at the dog staring at him. He gulped, “Shit..”
“Ethan what’s wrong…?” JJ started as his words faded away seeing the large dog, blinking, “…oh.”
“Uh…wh-what do we have to do.? He is very big and fluffy and uh…mad!”
“Get him to fall asleep…”
It was like the light bulb went off as he remembered his power set. He waved his fingers throwing dusty golden glowing sand at the large dogs face—well, he was more like a wolf—as he gave a loopy dreamy smile. Images of the galaxy danced above his head as he flopped onto the floor happily, asleep and snoring.
Ethan threw the throw blanket over his shoulder chuckling softly, “Aw, he’s so adorable now that he’s asleep.”
JJ pulled out a present with a name on it and looked at the wolf. He chuckled, “So that’s Rick.”
~~~~
~~~~~~
Santa smiled fondly at the memory and sighed softly.
“Yeah, Ethan’s a kind soul and very respectful figure. I couldn’t ask for better than him and our friends.” He added generously, “He keeps the good dreams alive and the bad ones away. Tooth is lucky to have him, they make quite a pair. They both agree that the whole leaving out cookies for Santa shouldn’t be made, I need a bigger snack than just two cookies. Maybe chicken wings or something? Oh! Chips and guacamole?”
JJ then adds, “I also have my reindeer that accompanies me…”
~~~~
~~~~~~
Santa trying to see in the clouds and realize he is moving so freaking slow.
“Rudolph! I see nothing!” He yelled out.
Rudolph, who was a bit older now, sass him, “Who care Santa? I don’t think my nose is bright enough.”
“You better hope it’s bright enough, when I call your father to whoop your behind!”
“You’re killing my vibe, man…”
“Rudolfo, shut up or I’ll throw you in the back with Cupid.”
Later on that night…🕰️
They was going well, presents were being delivered with the help from, Ethan, Sandman and Mother Time, Petra, before they headed off to the North Pole to celebrate the holiday. But they were big help!
Especially with Petra being able to stop time along the route to bigger destinations and allow them more access to get the job done—without rushing against the clock.
So that just left Santa, JJ was flying calmly, on the phone with Mrs. Claus about family dinner and who’s coming over. Then he noticed all the reindeer blabbering and hushing one another.
“I’ll have to call you back honey…” He said hang up the phone and turned to his reindeer and smiled. “Okay, what’s the chitchatting about guys?”
All the reindeer spoke under their breath and the words didn’t come out right away.
“Dasher.” He said calmly. “Care to tell me, what happened?”
Dasher huffed knowingly, at being the most loyal and honest reindeer as he said, “Rudolph is talking about you again…”
Blitzen added, “Yup sir, he’s being ridiculous and clearly hasn’t done this job long..”
JJ rolled his eyes and sometimes wished he could call one of ghosts of Christmas, Cole, to set Rudolph straight.
JJ sighed, “Buddy, what did you say?”
Rudolph grumbled, “Just that you need to be more tactful when entering people’s home.”
JJ blinked and scoffed with a deadpan expression. He has done this long enough and is pretty sure that his methods are working.
“I must be getting old and foolish with age, but Rudolph, reminds me.” JJ remarked with a hint of sass, “Do you still get bullied by the other reindeer?”
“Well, sometimes, yeah-” Rudolph replied shrugging as he flies.
“Good.”
~~~~
~~~~~~~
“Yeah, so, Rudolph is grounded for the rest of the week and won’t be flying around the base for a while…” JJ replied biting down on a cookie.
He glance down at the other laters deciding to read them later and smile softly looking around the room. He watched the folks stumble across the room and the sound of people talking in the distance.
He looks up at the camera once more.
“Allow me to let you in on a little secret folks.” JJ said chuckling, “As much as everyone thinks that I’m the top dog here at the North Pole, it’s really Mrs. Claus.”
“Yeah, sure I do the trip every year, answer the letters and get things sorted out.” He explained softly. “But in reality? Oh my goodness, she’s the real boss! She makes sure things are in order, everyone knows what their role is and so much more. And don’t mess with her. Last person to mess with Elizabeth got a candy cane, where the sun don’t shine…”
He winked at the camera.
JJ chuckled and shrugged, “Anyways, yeah. That’s all the time I have for you guys today. I’ll be reading more later on. Bye!”
With the camera shut off.
~~~~
~~~~~~~
Ahhh this was fun to make hehe tell me what you think?? 💭
We both JJ might even say how these kids nowadays only want iPad Air and no ACTUAL toys 😆 he will roll his eyes.
BTW! I HAD a whole other idea in mind for the questions and JJ responses but I didn’t know if they would be funny or nice to write 🤷🏻♀️ heheh

The Tragedy of Love, Death and Maggots part 8
Part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4, part 5, part 6, part 7
Their high priestess, decked in layer after layer of tattered robes walked up before Athena, bearing a ceremonial dagger. “Feral child,” she began in a voice like the buzzing of a thousand flies. “You have cost us the life of a Precious One, of our Honoured Sacrifice, He Who Would Bring About The Birth Of Our God. For that, you will pay with a thousand years of agony.”
“Cost them the life of their sacrifice? What the hell are they talking about? Athena-” It clicked, and I closed my mouth. “The hanged man. That- that was her. That's why she didn't care. That's why she tried to distract me when we found the tattoo. She knew, this whole time.”
“But that would mean that she had starved, beaten and killed him in cold blood,” Brett protested. “Athena would never-”
“Athena would. You know that. You know that better than the rest of us, Brett,” Mrin hissed back. “That doesn't change anything. We've got to save her anyways. She's one of us.”
“Like hell this changes nothing,” I yelled. “She tortured a man! In cold blood! Do you not see why I don't want to rescue the bloody berserker who tortures people?!”
“Shut. Up.” Brett, of all people, had said that. He glared at me, knuckles white with rage. “Don't you act like such a hypocrite. You would have left that man in there no problem. Don't pretend that you weren't the one to convince us all to cull the cultists the first time. You wanted us to leave Athena behind, right from the beginning. What is your problem?”
It was some miracle that nobody had noticed us. Somewhere in the background, the cultists began chanting, a deep sound like a boar stirring from dirt, like drums beat to the rhythm of war. “I did what I had to to survive. If that meant leaving someone for dead? Yeah, sure. I'll admit to that. But this is just viciousness! She did this out of malice. She is evil, Brett. That's what evil looks like.”
“No, evil is acting like fear and anger make you a monster. Evil is knowing better, and doing worse. You're evil,” Brett said, shoving me away from him. Mrin caught me, her face turned to watch the scene. “And I'm saving her, no thanks to you.”
He stomped off angrily. “Now look what you've done,” Mrin murmured. “Oh, I can see this ending badly.”
I glared at her. “Don't jinx us,” I replied. “Who knows? Maybe the kid will pull her out of it. He's done greater miracles, after all.”
Mrin's silence told me she saw through the lie.
