I dont know if it was intentional but I love that Narinder when he sees Lamb throwing up he turns gentle and pushes their wool and ears back so they dont get stained with vomit and for some reason it reminded me of how when Nari was throwing up too after the nightmare he had when they were on route to fight Leshy, Lambert helped him with camellias for the nausea.
Ahh, parallels. I think.
IM SO GLAD YOU POINTED THAT OUT allow me to ramble for just a moment.
Narinder was trapped in the Afterlife for over 1000 years, with little social skills and plagued by wishing for vengeance and his only company being two kittens who become disciples under his rule. He has terrible social skills, if not lacking them entirely.
(I would argue that Aym and Baal also have horrific nonexistent social skills, so those three cat's can't really help each other communicate properly to anyone else outside themselves.)
It can be argued that since The One Who Waits had other vessels to pass time and try to kill /annoy his siblings before the prophesized Lamb arrival, that he would have developed them a little bit more, but I would argue that the power balance would have been oodles more severe since the vessels weren't the promised one. He didn't need them, so if they no longer were of service or disobeyed him, he got rid of them. Whether just sending them out or killing them, any how.
Lamb, however, knows they are the last Lamb, the prophesized liberator of The One Who Waits, and therefore his only option. They knew that they were his only reasonable way out of there (whether they asked for it or not) so they were oodles more comfortable than how a professional relationship would have been.
So they asked questions, bothered him, played and ran around him. Complained and vented to him. Yapped and yapped. What is he gonna do? Kill them? Find a new vessel? He can't. "You're as trapped into this prophecy as much as I am, so let's be friends"
Example parts from Chapter 3:
The power balance equalizes because Lamb did not see his presence a God, but rather a fellow prisoner and victim of fate. Rude and demanding, but in the same chains as they were. 'My lord' was simply formalities at first.
This puts Narinder / The One Who Waits in social situations he hasn't been in (or hardly been in) in over a thousand years, and frankly, he had no idea how to navigate them:
Example from Chapter 5:
The God of Death has not needed to comfort or 'be there' for someone in a long, long time. The Lamb's presence is what forces him to try, even if his first attempt aren't perfect. So in that same chapter, he'll ask them a question to distract them. Conversation. Like how they do it.
While I won't post a screenshot of everytime this happens in written format (not including the dreams/memories/flashbacks that haven't been posted yet)-
The One Who Waits is pushed outside of his bubble when it comes to socializing in a way that isn't just 'God-to-Lowly-Vessal' format. He has to talk to them like a person, because he's being talked to like a person, not a god on a pedestal.
Obviously after the final battle and betrayal (to both of them, otherwise known as the Grand Miscommunication) this means nothing for a while as tempers are still high and feelings are hurt. But overtime, this returns, and can show in small ways (ways that may not seem like comfort but is certainly an attempt) like just in Chapter 18:
Trying to bring them an 'offering' (breakfast) mirroring other times the Lamb has done the same for him:
Crudely offering to replace something they are upset at losing/later offering reassurance abet in a curt way:
And what you mentioned: earlier when the Lamb is throwing up, narration shows they're having trouble with keeping their wool, cloak, bell, ect all back at the same time. He can see that. He has a mental boiling pot explosion over the fact that helping them is even a want that he has after the denial crisis he's experiencing where the only answer a minute ago seemed like he needed to kill them, and he chose comfort.
It is intentional. Narinder is learning how to show care, and allowing himself to show care. Slowly, and not perfect, but learning.

do you think it took Rio a long time to choose her revenge dress? did she agonize over every detail? I picture her process like, okay I need an outfit that says fuck you (threatening) but also fuck you (horny) and fuck me (very horny) and then circle all the way back to FUCK YOU THOUGH (VERY threatening)
as to why Rio goes from super soft to *that* - I see it as the equivalent of the TV trope where someone almost dies and their loved one is very concerned, but as soon as there's no danger they slap them around the head and call them a fucking idiot. this is Rio's WELCOME HOME, CHEATER moment (Agatha has been kiiiind of been cheating death, lbr)
this is the best way rio could choose to approach agatha too, and not only because it lets her express all that pent up anger. what would be the alternative? sit Agatha down and have a honest chat? Rio knows her too well, she knows it would be simply too much. Agatha *is* more comfortable with big bombastic scenes, with violence that is a lot like foreplay. Rio is looking out for her right now, she is making it as easier for Agatha as she can, while also not letting her get away with her bullshit any longer.

Rio cannot physically kill Agatha, it's not allowed, she's only the collector. So what is she trying to do, exactly? Has Agatha really been cheating death for so long that Rio has no choice but to bring her in? Or is she not here to collect at all and this is just her way to get back at her ex (and possibly win her back)? I adore both options, they're tragic in different ways.
time to bullshit! time to bolt! time to get to that escape route! this is what Agatha does best. anything but face the truth
funny how agatha usually has no problem looking undignified. it's almost like this is not the point at all. so let's review: wanda has stripped agatha of the powers that have been keeping her hidden from rio. rio comes over to confront her - and not kill her, she wouldn't be allowed anyway. she does it in a way that agatha would find less scary than having a mature convo. still, agatha has to face things she's been escaping for so long and it's simply too horrifying, too overwhelming. the fact that she's joking around so much (while her future conversations with rio will be sad, soft, dramatic) tells you just how scared and how miserable she is. She's begging rio to stop, because even fighting and flirting, which is their comfort zone, is proving too much. And what does rio do? She listens and goes away. only temporary, she won't let her off the hook now that she has found her. but she's still willing to go at Agatha's pace.
aubrey plaza I would die for your evil little face
can I just say that agatha trying to flirt right now is devastating? she is at the end of her rope. she does NOT want rio to stay, doesn't trust herself around her in so many ways. but she knows how much rio wants her and just... she tries to manipulate her with flirting. it's a desperate gamble, completely undignified, completely in character for agatha. she offers herself to rio, but only physically. when what they had was infinitely more than that, it was beautiful, it was sacred.
and rio... forgives her. she laughs another one of her little soft laughs and lowers the blade. plaza is so good here, the way she says "okay, agatha," is a perfect blend of resentment and tenderness. she knows agatha better than anyone ever had or ever will. she knows why she does everything she does. and she follows her lead. one last time.
agatha's relief. she's trembling, deflated but still on her guard. she looks completely traumatized. the masterpiece that this scene is: you feel smart when you realize that they're flirting rather than fighting. when it finally dawns on you the real weight of their encounter... it's too late.
"by the way there's a bunch of scary witches after you and I totally want them to kill you, that's why I'm telling you exactly who they are and when they're coming"
agatha tries with all her might to believe that rio is heartless. because anger is easier than sadness.
we're leaning, we're leaning, we're leaning!
rio licking agatha's wound to heal it perfectly encapsulates her feelings: anger, horniness, and infinite tenderness. what a power move. rio was the one in control this whole scene, and it wrecked agatha.
"te veo" (I'm gonna go scream in a pillow)
she's gone, honey, she's gone. breathe.
Billy walking on the two of them having sex would have been less awkward than this

If 9-1-1 had gone the route of Eddie coming out in the first half of s7 instead of Buck, I like to think it could have been fun it if had gone something like this from Buck's POV (Eddie's POV would have been a lot more complicated and really beautiful, but for the sake of this post I want some Buck dramatics)...
Firstly, Buck would have spent the entire episode where Eddie comes out feeling jealous and mad and confused (like 7x04 but on steroids). Like every time he sees Eddie talk to another man who isn't already in their circle Buck would try to kill that man with his mind.
He probably would have rolled up to Maddie's house and sat down at the counter, put his head in his arms, and said something like "Maddie I think I'm homophobic".
And Maddie would have been like ?????
And Buck would have lifted his head and said something about how she knows that Eddie came out and even went on a date with stupid Tommy and his stupid helicopter and they're even playing basketball together tomorrow and he knows because he saw it on the calendar on Eddie's fridge while Buck was hanging out with Chris so Eddie could go out with Tommy.
He'd spend like 5 minutes ranting about how Eddie is figuring himself out and that's great but why does Buck suddenly feel so mad about Eddie talking to other guys and kind of flirting with them? Why isn't he just happy for him? Is he homophobic??
And Maddie would have said something like "I think you're feeling a lot of confusing feelings right now because someone really important to you figured something out about himself and maybe you feel a little left out. You'll figure out what you're feeling when you're ready and then you can talk to Eddie about it."
And Buck would have looked at her with his Big Blue Eyes™ and Chim would have walked in and been like "what are we talking about" and Buck would just put his head on the counter again and Maddie would raise an eyebrow at Chim would would raise one back and then they'd both kind of smile at each other.
The next episode could have had Buck getting even more insane with his jealously and Hen pulling him aside at work to tell Buck he isn't subtle and Buck breaking down in the ambulance about how he's worried he's homophobic and she's ask why and he'd explain and she'd fight an eye roll and ask if Buck has ever felt this way before.
And Buck would talk about how he doesn't think so... well actually maybe one time in high school when this girl he really liked started hanging out with this other guy and Buck was jealous and then it would hit him like a brick in the face and Hen would pat him on the knee and tell him he can restock for her before leaving Buck with his realization.
Maybe Buck would show up at the Diaz house that night after pacing around the loft for hours and he'd knock on the door and Eddie would be like... "Buck what are you doing here it's late. Are you okay?" and Buck would ask to come in and Eddie would roll his eyes because obviously Buck can come in.
They'd go into the kitchen and Buck would look at Eddie with his Big Blue Eyes™ and Eddie would say "What's been eating at you man.. is it.. is it me?"
And that would be the moment that Buck jumped into action because Eddie can't think Buck has a problem with him being queer. He can't have that happen because Buck's only problem with Eddie being queer is that he's queer and Buck hasn't kissed him yet.
So he'd say "No! Well yes, but not what you think."
And Eddie would look all confused and his Big Brown Eyes™ would be all sad so Buck would just blurt out "I'm in love with you! I thought I was homophobic because I hated every single guy you talked to in the last three days but I'm just... I'm in love with you."
Which would lead Eddie to put his beer down and kiss Buck right there in the kitchen. And when they separate they'd lean their foreheads together and Eddie would smile all soft and say "I'm in love with you too, if you didn't get that."

Spectre's new chapter was so interesting as an ending for the story the player and her weaved. Rambling and spoilers for Slay the Princess' arching narrative, Spectre's route and her new chapter under the cut. Tiny mention of Witch's unique Ch 3.
It is SO fun seeing how things are from the Princess' POV, both in general and for how you got to this third chapter!
'The Princess and the Dragon' (PatD) is the perfect title. It's so clever to have her come first. She's the protagonist, this time, of either a tragedy or a nice tale of redemption. Rather, if you leave together, you've played a route where she's the one who rizzes you.
To get to this point, you (or TLQ) have to be the Princess' villain. You're seen as cold and opportunistic to her. You come in and kill her with no hesitation. Then, after she dies she's wary but tries to reason with you to come to her POV, only for you to betray her and kill her. You've been antagonistic to her all the times you knew her (but not enough for her to give up on you!) A villainous dragon with potential to turn face.
Some players might not see their roleplay that way (understandably, this is a videogame and people try to pick options that seem right to them). I remember being suspicious of the Spectre the first time, because uh. She's a spooky ghost wanting to takeover your body. In a lot of routes she's highly antagonistic to you too! You might be open to hearing the Princess, but still tend towards mistrusting her words. PatD turns that reflexive distrust around and continues the Princess' attempts to have you see her perspective (just wanting to go home, not being happy with her killer) by literally making you see things from her perspective.
First of all, after the strife and violence of Ch II, this lovely track plays.

With the strings and wind instruments, it sounds peaceful, airy, a little playful, like a new beginning. It sets the stage for when you and the Princess wake up, alone together. It's one of the few times in the game you can just talk with each other, no Narrator to interrupt or filter the world. And it's fun seeing them get along. To TLQ, this is the Princess you've distrusted and killed twice, and now you've realised she's charming, and it feels right to be together.
And then your body traipses down the stairs, slowly coming into view. And the Princess describes it like it's routine: the sound of the blade, and the thump, thump, thump of a horror monster arriving. That's not a Hero, that's her Dragon. Opportunity gives you a freakish grin and dangles the blade. Surprise! You actually get to see yourself, after just little glimpses and shadows and mirrors that go away too quick.
The player/TLQ realises they're terrifying. You're at the behest of an inscrutable monster who decides what he'll do to you. You have to wait and hope for ages while the monster's voices talk back and forth and back and forth to come to a decision to kill you, with a knife twirled in his hands. That's what you've been for Spectre, and she still gave you a chance.
When you return to your body, you can choose to finally drop the knife. If you do, the writing cheekily points out that it's your big symbolic moment. For the story, that's Spectre finally winning you over. You reflected on what you've done and seen her perspective. To me, it really felt like you were playing a narrative 'obstacle' for Spectre to tackle. It's a counterpart to those routes where TLQ works to leave the cabin with the Princess. In a few of those, you offer your hand first. IIRC, here it's Spectre who holds her hand out to you. She's even got enough narrative agency to chuck the knife herself. It's a neat perspective to round things out. You're Spectre's Thorn route.
And I think it's a nice angle to look at relationships. This is one where you listen and take a hard look at yourself and the assumption you're right/the hero. If you don't, you hurt yourself too :]

bro!! that was fucking BRUTAL! i've known it was coming all season but holy shit i was NOT prepared for all of that!!!
before this season started people were saying that blood and cheese was going to be this show's red wedding, but honestly i 100% think it's rook's rest, actually! do not argue with me!
okay hang on let me try to have some coherent thoughts.
as a lover of all things gothic and weird, i am absolutely loving daemon having a terrible time at harrenhal. get haunted by your past bad decisions, loser!
i've been waiting all season to see how the alyn and addam subplot will play out and i really like the choice to have rhaenys be aware of her husband's bastard children (in the book she never learned), it makes a lot of sense since she and corlys know each other really well and she's very familiar with driftmark.
also i was not emotionally ready for them to take the route of rhaenys learning hours before her death that her husband repeatedly cheated on her lol.
alicent taking the moon tea as a parallel to rhaenyra doing the same in season 1 was a bit unexpected but i actually liked it, i feel like if you're going to write a story that's supposed to be heavily inspired by medieval history then you should include how women deal with contraceptives and abortion in that world.
jace and baela trying to run the council in rhaenyra's absence…they're doing they're best! but they really are just kids and should not have to deal with all of this!
getting the sense that gwayne hightower is maybe not super down with this whole "war" thing after all.
aemond shit-talking aegon in front of the whole council and using high valyrian so they don't understand him was such a delightfully bitchy usage of the language that i actually yelled aloud.
i have not forgotten season 1…whenever alicent and larys have a scene together i live in fear.
i'm also loving alys rivers so far, she's so perfectly unsettling and i'm really pleased they let gayle rankin keep her scottish accent.
they mentioned the names of TWO of the muppet tullys! and benjicot blackwood! and the return of willem blackwood! and a laena hallucation! gosh, daemon's little harrenhal council scenes had so many delicious callbacks and namedrops this episode.
alicent snarking at aegon…oh she really is losing her patience with him and just doesn't care at all anymore.
it's so good to see rhaenyra really taking a stand and making decisions this episode, but my god the pit of my stomach really dropped when rhaenys volunteered to fly to rook's rest.
i really liked the parallel moments with aegon and rhaenys getting ready to go to war, especially how it emphasized that the targaryens see their dragons not just as weapons but as companions too.
truly did not have on my bingo card that one of the participants of the first proper dragon battle this season would be drunk.
rook's rest was just! man! it was brutal!
this show really made us wait for the first dragon versus battle dragon battle, and it really didn't let me down.
the bit where aegon realizes that he's severely outmatched by meleys…the looks on everyone's faces when vhagar arrives…the dragons just screeching and clawing at each other and laying waste the whole field below them without even meaning to…those soldiers being crushed beneath vhagar's feet without her even noticing…vhagar seizing meleys by the throat and just shaking her…the look on rhaenys's face when she's falling…the impact of sunfyre and meleys just totally crushing everything below them…it fucking slapped!!
the aftermath was just as brutal as the battle, tbh. the look on criston cole's face when he realized what he set in motion and that he maybe just killed the king…oh buddy you fucked up REAL bad.
on a better note…more harrenhal drama and jace in the riverlands next week?

what are some common misconceptions about pathologic characters that ur sick of seeing in fandom spaces
anon thank you for blessing me with this wonderful ask this fine day
i'm gonna keep it pretty short for daniil because i don't want this to become a defense post about him and i think i've already said all there is to say but literally can we stop mischaracterizing him to this degree? it's very obvious that daniil does care about the town and the people around him given that he keeps trying to help in any way he can even when he has nothing to personally gain by doing so. and unless you're going for all the 'i'm an asshole' options in his dialogue he's actually polite and even endearing at certain points? especially that considering that during his own route he's pretty much thugging it out on his own, if anything helping the other two playable characters instead of the other way round, but in the haruspex and chageling route he's the one you turn to for help when stuff gets tough. here's a post that includes some of his lines that illustrate this point. also the implication that he's some clueless asshole that doesn't know what he's doing while artemy is The Good Doctor That Saves Everyone TM is a horrible misreading of the story and the framing of the plot. the bachelor's route is specifically a story about a person who finds themselves in such a hostile setting that, despite their best efforts, is unable to find their footing and ultimately fails at everything they try to accomplish. by interpreting this aspect of the game as daniil himself being incompetent you have missed out one of the most major points this game is trying to make.
as for artemy, i partly blame this on the developers themselves and how they handled his p2 characterisation but i dont like how the grittier aspects of his character are ignored in favor of a loving father persona. artemy can be a huge dick in classic, as can all three playable characters and a big part of why i like his and daniils relationship so much is because they're both these cold, reserved, introverted guys but allow themselves to enjoy an easier dynamic between them. i think that aspect of their relationship doesn't really work if you hc artemy as someone who is kind and cheerful from the get go.
in a similar vein i also don't like how perceptions of clara often boil down to silly teenage girl who makes meta jokes when her character is so much more than that. people completely ignore the unflattering aspects of her character, like how self-righteous she really is. i mean she's literally making it up as she goes and yet she feels so confident in herself and her methods that she finds it acceptable to trick the only two doctors into a rivalry (and then sell them out to each other for supplies despite fully believing that they intend to kill each other). also, most of the time she is not as silly and impish as people make her out to be- that's mostly the changeling. in the moments when she is herself, clara is pretty depressed.
i also dont like anna angel slander because, is she a child murderer? yeah. was she also abducted as a child herself and found herself in an extremely difficult position at a very early age? also yeah. iirc correctly shes 18 in the game and the ace of diamonds events happened years prior so basically she was a child herself. not that its wrong to criticize child murder because obviously but the way some people speak about her is insane.
also this is completely hc based and of lesser importance than everything else but i have difficulty getting behind anything remotely kinky when it comes to burakhosky because to me they will always be the kind of couple that read in silence next to each other before falling asleep at the late hour of 10:30 pm.

Hot Take: Magnifico learning magic and learning how to protect the wishes would've been a better plot for Wish.
Think of it. We start with a town on fire and see Magnifico running away. Maybe he gets caught by the villain. "Any last wishes?" Maybe we see his parents or siblings tackle the villain and tell him to run only for him to watch them be killed (off screen of course).
We get a shot of our villain. I'm thinking a very Shan Yu-like from Mulan. Just, evil. Pillager. Bad Guy.
Magnifico escapes. Since he's gonna be voiced by Chris Pine still (of course), we get the ROTG voice over. "I never saw them again. I never saw my home again. And I vowed that that would never happen again. But that was a long time ago." Cue musical sting, pan up to the night sky and wishing star, title.
Fast forward, Magnifico is now a teenager. Has an adopted mother, living in a cottage in the woods or something near town. He's trying to study magic in his free time, his mother is worried about him getting in over his head. He wants to apply for the magic school in the town. Cue song a la "When Will My Life Begin."
He takes the magic exam and isn't bad, but isn't good enough. Maybe they're snobs, maybe it's really that he failed fair and square.
Note: Amaya also lives in this town. They're friends.
Breakdown that night. Cue "So I Make This Wish," almost verbatim and summons... STAR!
Humanoid Boy Star from the concept art, specifically.
They get talking. Magnifico is obviously starstruck (ba dum tish).
M: "you're, you're---"
S: stupendous, extraordinary, splendiferous?
M: magnificent
Cue discussion about why he's out there wishing, the magic exam, why he wants to learn magic, and Star offers to teach him.
Not sure what happens here. Probably mini-quest to get magic books or items. Upbeat montage song. At the end, hint that the bad guy is coming to destroy this town now.
Somewhere in here, we befriend Amaya more and Magnifico starts to fall in love with her. Cue cute romantic song, something about wishing for each other. Star in the background a la Eponine from Les Mis. NOW we can either go romance or friendship route: either way, there is pining about how he is a cosmic entity, ageless, can't stay forever, and Magnifico is going to grow up and do great things without him.
Oh no!! Bad guys are suddenly a lot closer! We've got to prep and do something! Potentially an ensemble/town song. Culminates in Star asking Magnifico what his wish really is. We see his wish is founding Rosas with Amaya at his side. Star reassures him that that's exactly what he's going to do and teaches him how to take and protect wishes. We got a duet a la "For Good" between them. Star tells him that he's going to be magnificent.
Big battle against the bad guys! Magnifico with his really cool sorcery powers! He takes the Bad Guy's wish to harm people and makes him forget it. Magnifico also gets a cool "Defying Gravity" song here with some line about promising to protect people's wishes and if he should ever fail or use that power for evil, may he be cursed or something. Foreshadowing, y'know?
We get one last goodbye as Star goes to leave. Do they kiss? Maybe. Do they have A SUPER TIGHT TENDER HUG FULL OF LOVR AND CARE. ABSOLUTELY. I LIVE FOR THAT. Probably a reprise of one of the songs here.
Fast forward once more to Magnifico as a young adult with Amaya, sailing on a ship as they discover the island that will become Rosas.

And technically you can only marry him if you play as female Robin but their dynamic is still just as romantic if you play as male Robin (they literally call each other their other half and m!Robin and Chrom have a valentine's day duo unit in the gatcha, and in the anthology manga m!Robin asks Chrom to make polygamy legal so he can also marry Chrom's wife and they can be a family) so most people play the game with the gay mod so they can still marry him as a guy. He's incredibly stupid ("yeah, let's set all our ships on fire then walk through a volcano, you're so smart, Robin" "I know you've had prophetic visions about killing me and our daughter came from the future to warn us it would happen but I'm sure THIS TIME it won't because of the power of our bonds") but also really sweet. In the summer DLC they're fighting on a beach and when he sees Robin get excited over a weird creature they found he immediately forgets about the battle and starts trying to make a bunch of crafts (and failing) and cooking food (and failing again) and writing "Chrom and Robin were here" in the sand so that Robin could have some nice beach memories. I'm obsessed with this man”

"On the 25th anniversary, as a reminder to the rebels that their children were dying because of their choice to initiate violence, every district was made to hold an election and vote on the tributes that who would represent it."
Twenty-five years have passed since the rebellion, yet the price is still being paid by the Districts. Even though most people alive today had no part in the fight, they suffer the consequences of the Capitol's anger. The harsh reality of the Capitol's cruelty is revealed every year on July 4th, Reaping Day. On this day, two children from each of the 12 districts are randomly chosen to fight to the death in an arena until only a lone victor remains. Parents hold their children close and hope it isn't their child who will be ripped away from them, knowing that there is nothing they can do to stop it.
However, this year is different. This year marks the very first Quarter Quell, and parents don't have to worry about whether their children might be taken away because, for this once-in-a-lifetime event, they get to choose who goes into the arena. But there's no doubt in anyone's mind who's going in when the mayor has a child of his own - me.

Imagine a villainess isekai, but with a vidow twist
Got your attention? Great! So picture this, the plot of the Four Swords manga, but it's some dating sim-type game that's blown up in the modern world. In theory, you'd be playing as Zelda who managed to avoid capture and travel with the colors which are presumably still Link split into pieces.
Of course, you'd have your typical romance routes with each of them, on top of the neutral route which is more of a "power of friendship saves the day" type deal (as well as a "harem" ending that has them fuse back into Link by the end of it), all while dealing with Shadow as a recurring villain, our technical "villainess" in this scenario.
But here's the twist: Vio is the one who got isekai'd.
Instead of becoming the villain, he's become one of the four* love interests for the protagonist--although he's completely uninterested in her or any of the others. He'd actually only played through the game once in his previous life, and even then he didn't really remember if he managed to romance anyone, never mind finish the game.
He was pretty confused when he suddenly awakened his memories while standing in the Four Sword Sanctuary, having just successfully driven off Shadow for the first time with the others. And with that revelation came several thoughts in quick succession.
Namely, "Oh, that's why I never beat the game."
The villain, who had several moments of introspection and a fully fleshed-out character arc, hadn't been a romance option. Not even a dlc or secret route. Which in Vio's (totally not dramatic) opinion, made the game basically unplayable.
So of course he was going to have to fix that himself. Plot be damned, he was going to end up with Shadow or die trying.
Cue up the fourth-wall-breaking shenanigans and hilarity that ensues from someone not at all trying to blend in with the world around them. Vio quickly goes from being the "smart one" to the "unhinged one" as he mumbles to himself about event flags and route points.
He's got a whole notebook dedicated to the most nonsensical gibberish such as "how many times I've talked to x person" and "how long until chapter 4." When prompted about the tallies on the first page, Vio merely shrugs and says he's keeping track of their shadow. Whatever that means.
I like to think the forest scene would be pretty much reversed from the manga canon and instead have Vio be the pursuer. Like, he's just shaking Shadow by the shoulders and rambling. Something like, "I know everything about you and I will kill anyone you want me to. Please allow me to join you."
Shadow, of course, doesn't know whether to be flustered or freaked out, so he settles on the happy middle ground of "lowkey kinda into it."
Within the dating sim's original story, anyone Zelda was on the route for would be the one to meet with Shadow, and she would show up last minute to help fight him off (so no betrayal scene would ever occur). Meanwhile here, Vio takes the first chance he gets to bail on the narrative and begin his plans of total Shadow domination (take that as you will).
Vio ends up being more of a threat than Shadow, on account of his vague story knowledge and general lack of care towards anyone that isn't Shadow (if he's going to be put into a game's world, he's going to treat it as such). He's totally down for overthrowing the big bads, murdering anyone in his way, and ruling the ruined world at Shadow's side. But luckily, Shadow does still have his character development arc, and manages to negate the worst of the damage before it's unfixable.
Whether or not they switch sides or just keep doing what they're doing on a slightly less destructive scale is anyone's guess, I haven't thought that far ahead. This may or may not have been completely incomprehensible, Grammerly has lit the whole thing up in yellow (orange?).
Unrepentantly unhinged Vio is a good flavor. It pairs nicely with "somehow has the moral compass" Shadow. They're an odd pair, but as time goes on, it becomes pretty apparent that they're equally obsessed with each other. This can only end well.

One of my favourite aspects about Sniper and Spy's relationship (platonic or romantic) is how they both have a mutual understanding of like, quiet time and what it's like to genuinely feel this certain flavour of solitude:
Sniper has a lot of his work done completely alone; hiding, playing the waiting game, and all that jazz, while Spy has a somewhat similar experience. Sure, his espionage lifestyle has a more active role at times, but his job still requires maintaining distance (physical and emotional) from both clients and targets. Both are dedicated to their work enough that they'd avoid getting genuinely personal with people altogether— even if they wanted to, they know it'd negatively impact their abilities to perform. Sniper having the mindset of having "a plan to kill everyone you meet" and to just "take the shot", and Spy being described as a "puzzle, wrapped in an enigma, shrouded in riddles" is telling of how much of a wall either can put up and any given time.
Now, I'm not saying that the other mercs don't know what it's like to be isolated or that they could never relate to Sniper or Spy in that regard, but their roles aren't necessarily fundamentally built around it, y'know? They aren't required to hide away or to work solo (you could make the joke of "then why are there always 5+ snipers and spies on my team at any given time??" but shhhh this is more in the context of the lore/comics lolol).
I feel like this concept of them realizing their niche similarities and how "hey, maybe I'm not really alone in this world" has so much potential. Like... the idea of them not really participating often in team activities or usually hiding away (in a van and smoking room perhaps?) is great, but to add on the angle that they now have someone who finally understands?? To finally have someone that you don't have to explain anything to?? It hits differently. They could have a smoke together, not saying a word the whole time, and consider it a successful hangout— they don't expect anything from the other, or feel the pressure to act differently because they just get it, and know why things are the way they are.
There's so much angst potential too, forbidden friends/lovers who both know the consequences if things go sour. Maybe they've suppressed so much of that desire to have a relationship (platonic or romantic), that when they finally admit that this is the case (realizing they both feel the same way), something clicks and they try to make it work. Don't even get me started on the potential "hey, maybe I can trust you" aspects either lmao. Regardless of what direction you take though, their relationship growing feels special and unique.
The media too often depicts the whole "can't get close to no one. I don't need friends" attitude as mostly negative and something that needs to be fixed... but with these guys, they're just allowed to be like this. Not saying that there are no cons to this attitude ofc, but it's not necessarily a thing they have to change about themselves or each other or anything. I guess it's refreshing to see that there are still characters out there who can be loners and just be content about it. Unless of course, you want to go down that route. Love that type of angst, but it's nice to have that option without it feeling too OOC. Ugh, there's like so much to explore and deconstruct and so many directions to take this fr fr
((Also, I realize now it's kinda like being an art kid and that moment when you finally meet someone where you don't have to explain why you keep drawing the same old soggy men who shoot each other cuz they just understand. Artist to artist communication lol))

I really like how Bruce and John interacted the whole game, yk?
I mean even since Arkham John and Bruce gave each other some small moments like hand touching or small flirt(Sentence about Bruce's smile is still the best shit ever) but it never looked like they're interested, more like curious in each other. But than John comes onto funeral to support Bruce, support him and be with him and Bruce seemed to appreciate it. Yes it was a bit messy, a bit too loud, but I think that was the moment Bruce started realizing his feelings to John. Im sure he fell even back at Arkham, I'm sure John's behavior and things he did to save Bruce made The Bat feel something wich didn't go far. But there he was, caring to come and support, even If in his own way, and stay with Bruce till the end of funeral. And the way Bruce looked at John when John left obviously showed a little sparkle, a little bit of glee in his eyes and all the softness in just one smile.
Later Bruce and John meet at the bar and both have a little bit of talk and gives each other a pinky swear, looking at each other like at the best thing in the world(and holding fingers for 5 seconds). Later once that drunk man brags in Bruce literally fights to save John, fights for him like John once fought for Bruce.
Behind bar Bruce brings up romance into their relationship by asking 'Are you in love with me?'. John had a second to think not only about how to softly reject Bruce, but a second to consider possibilities. As far as we know John canonically wasn't sure If he loves Bruce or Harley more, so I think he just didn't consider what Bruce cared enough about some psycho like John and clearly out of his league so he started paying more attention to Harley, and than the same man asking this, that gave possibilities.
John since than started showing more signs of being interested in Bruce, more flirting, more physical contact, more of attention to Bruce. They, during game, a lot of times hinted very obviously on their feelings for each other, touched each other very gently, sometimes just to touch each other without it being necessary, just because they wanted it, they felt like they needed it. Everyone knew, including them, but John was too confused in his feelings to start dating Bruce, wich led to a lots and a lots of emotional abuse and swings from John's side wich made their relationship very shaky.
During five episode, depending on the choice, John and Bruce's relationship is different in it's own way.
In Vigilante route it all seemed now more clear since John isn't turning Bruce down and searching for Harley, but that's going on until John becomes dissapointed in Bruce, as much as he was at Harley, If not worser, so their relationship suddenly turning from almost lovers to enemies who tries to kill each other. But on the end John finally speaks up about his feelings, leaving Bruce too confused and broken to say the same.
In Villain route John and Bruce act like exes with very sad break up, and John trying to do everything to impress Bruce and make Bruce heartbroken, make Bruce feel what John felt and be more messed up. In Villain route John also felt insecure in Harley for a second or two, John isn't sure in anybody there too, but because he had Harley to rely on John can have a little bit of stable moments because he trusted her and thought she really cares. But also, otherwise of vigilante ending, here's Bruce the one who says what he is heartbroken, and John is sad about this since, thought it was what he wanted to reach, he don't believe what Bruce ever felt that way truly, John feel like he spend all this time thinking what Bruce really felt anything for nothing, for some illusions of possibilities wich were never real.
The way they interact with each other is very important depending on their relationships not only with each other but also with other people. Though no matter that both of them do, they always feel too insecure to actually say or do anything what will make things clear.

anyway im currently brainstorming another new pl oc so i have a few questions: how would the milos react if someone outside of eris not just loved him, but desperately tried to distance him from eris because they can see how bad of an influence they are on him? at what point would milo(s) be too far gone to be reasoned with? would he push the person trying to advise him away? hurt them? threaten them? etc. what would he do if that person went the extra mile and tried to/downright killed eris? im especially wondering bc i know milo(s) just want to be loved and accepted which is what eris makes him feel, so would someone else loving him in a healthier way actually manage to free him from eris? hehe... sorry gotta know what to do with the newest silly

I think PreMilo would be confused at first and nervous. I mean Eris seems like a good person... but I don't think that this other person would be lying so... He would be pretty wary for a bit... at least until Eris can convince him otherwise.
Manipulation Milo would probably act very concerned but he doesn't actually care and this person has just put a target on themselves. He would definitely act as if this new person is their savior before getting rid of them.
Violence Milo is not pleased they would even suggest that they are a bad influence. After all, they made him stronger and less pathetic than he was before. Sleep with one eye open because if he doesn't injure you then and there he will.
It's hard to say at what point they're already too far gone. I think in the beginning of each of Violence and Manipulation routes they still have a chance to be reformed (like how Desmond was), but near the end of it, it would be extremely hard to reverse at all. It also depends on how Eris trains them if him if he would push away, threaten or hurt them. Trying to kill or successfully killing Eris would lead to Milo hunting them down using whatever they learned from Eris.
Would loving him in a healthier way help them? Or would it just warp them in a worse way? I think its the second option. Even PreMilo already has some yandere tendencies you know.

Claudia Difiori is brought by her father, to Germany. See her lore.
So began a love affair between Claudia and Josephine von Segensfeld. But during a party hosted in the manor, Claudia "broke up" with Josephine because this was "unnatural" and "she had to marry a man". They had a huge fight and became bitter towards each other.
Giles Eleison is there as well. His father took him there so he may find a wife.
Giles Eleison meets Claudia Difiori, shortly after, he asks her to marry him.
**England
They both thought marriage would fix them. it did not. [1]
some years pass. Carol is born.
News of the rebellion in the American colonies reaches them. Giles reads about it one certain morning and suddenly it feels like his entire life's purpose was revealed to him.
Giles quickly leaves his home to join the army.

note: Giles was originally meant to have one ending -- he would be shot and would die alone on a field without anyone having loved him. But thanks to Joseph, his fate is split into two possible paths, or routes as i like to call them. One where he does die, and one where he ends up surviving, but pronounced dead at first.

this is all assuming that sibling [reader] is close or well liked by the graves siblings. i mean... if they let you live after you escape then they must love you <3 ofc, ofc
andrew would be very distraught. it's such a preventable loss too, all it would've taken was a extra 10 seconds or so to tell you to leave the motel. he should've dragged you out, should've done anything to prevent this... instead he's having a panic attack in front of your corpse. it's hard for me to gauge how he would go about handling your death. we haven't really seen him react to a death of a loved one before... besides nina, but that was less of her being a loved one and more him being scared of getting caught committing murder, you know?
i can't see him completely moving on from your death. i don't think he would kill himself (not yet at least)... he would probably try to get you back from the demon/entity, maybe promising to sacrifice a number of souls to lord unknown when he/it appears at the hidden cult club. the way he handles your death would also rely on which route they go down.
ashley sees the vision and knows you're going to die. she's may or may not be directly responsible for your death. she's paniked too. this was NOT supposed to happen. she would try to bargain with lord unknown to get you back, too. for the most part... no matter what... she's mad. she's mad at the hitman for killing you, mad at the soda company for sending him after you, mad at their mother for leaving them in that fucking apartment in the first place... but most importantly, she's mad at herself. this is her fault.
decay would see andrew killing ashley and himself to join you, wherever you are after you've died. his resentment is definitely heightened. ashley has taken everything from him; his girlfriend, his parents, you. she has fucking ruined every single chance he had at a normal life... what's the point of trying to continue on? at least with this, you'll all be united again. the big happy family he deserves, without pain and consequence.
in the burial route... i mean they're still sad. hm. i think they'd take the time to mourn you properly. maybe on the bridge with their parents, or somewhere else (they don't want you to be remembered next to their parents, they actually love you, come on now) they still joke around with each other and the mood is lighter maybe.
i'm sorry if i seem apathetic in this. i'm not the best at mourning loss.
now it's time for my ocs reactions! wowie! i'm writing this for them separately, so that it's andrew, ashley, my oc, and then the [reader] as the graves sibling unit:
alexis would be bawling his eyes out. his role is supposed to be the pillar everyone leans on for support, he's the father that takes care of his siblings. having one of them die... it's heartbreaking. he's the oldest, he practically raised you like you were his own child. he's beating the shit out of the hitman (um, in his head after the hitman has died since... you know) after that, he's way more possessive and protective of andrew and ashley. they're all he has left of his family... he can't lose them. he won't lose them.
amber... is shocked. definitely shocked... okay, i'm pretty sure i can't hide it anymore, let's talk about amber for a minute. amber is obviously removed from the rest of the graves family. they're the black sheep of the family next to ashley. one thing that sets them apart is their nature. it's not wholly 'human'? idk if i would call them a tar soul like ashley (ashley is her own special cocktail of fucked up girlbossing that no one can replicate in my mind) but they do have bond or interest of the entity/lord unknown. they would find and succeed in getting you back. sure you're not the same as before maybe... but you're back right? almost as if nothing happened.
death to them isn't exactly trivial, but it's not a high concern to them. they assure you that something like this won't happen again. they're willing to pay the price to ensure that is the case.
amy breaks down. she's silent at first, quiet and muted. she's always been quiet and put away. she had to as to not stir up trouble for her family. but eventually... pop! she screams and thrashes in andrew and ashley's hold as she wrecks the room. what's the point in holding back, it's all ruined anyway! she wishes it was [the hitman] she was tearing into. she wants to feel his skin rip and bleed under her nails. once her rage passes over, she just sobs... curled into a ball on her knees, kneeling next to her dead sibling. it's not fair. it's not fair, it's not fair, it's not fair! it should've been her! he should've killed her, not her you! it's like nina all over again... what did she do wrong to have you leave her?
andrew and ashley may not be able to reach out to her. she's so curled into herself that she can't hear anyone else outside. there's one less person waiting at home for her... it would make her more quiet and volatile. she already struggles with suicidal thoughts and ideation. it would tear her apart, having to choose to continue living with andrew and ashley or joining you in the afterlife. andrew and ashley have each other, don't they? they've always had each other! but you're all alone out there... she can't leave you alone, can she? what should she do? what would a good sister do?
aria would be upset. her reaction may depend on if you are her favorite or not, as she does pick favorites (the devious little woman she is): if you're her favorite then she's bloody furious, wishing she could kill that hitman a thousand times more, if not then she's sad, possibly even suggests eating you as a way of keeping you with them forever. either way, you were her beloved sibling and she's sad that she lost you. it's been a while since i wrote for anything devious but her reaction would be more along the lines of this post if you were her favorite. she'd be quiet and depressed after your death and her moving on from your death would also depend on which route gets walked down.
in decay, she's willing to nuke the entire family. she's lost one, her favorite, might as well bring the rest of her family along! things are already falling apart anyways. in burial, she'll put her feelings to rest. she loved you, she loves you, and she'll always miss you, but she needs to move on. she still has andrew and ashley there with her
a. vomits. they vomit and cry like a big baby because they are a big baby. the shake and cry and have tears and snot drip down their face until andrew and ashley snap them back into reality. crying isn't going to solve anything. um... they're just a big baby in my head. your death frazzles them completely and they look at andrew and ashley for guidance on how to handle the situation. this gives them nightmares. the fact they left you behind and that you died because of them! it's their fault... they could never move on from that.
they would struggle with fact that they're responsible for your death. their responsibility. their fault. their impact on the world... is that you're gone.
thank you for asking about my little guys <3 i love traumatizing them... it's always more emotional and impactful in my head tho :/ i hope this gives you some idea of their personalities at least. i wanna make sure that they're all different in their own way.
