It’s August 15th! Happy Birthday, Tsumugi Shirogane!

Tsumugi is such a conflicting character for me! She’s the character I like that I think I could be the closest friends with off the drop, and a character I would push off a cliff without any hesitation. Overall, I would say she’s one of my favorite characters in fiction. I’ll drop an analysis I did of why I love her so much and what she means to me below, but for now, today is just to celebrate and make happy the Queen herself, Tsumugi Shirogane!

(lol sorry for all these copy-paste analyses I just am never prepared and it’s a good excuse to share stuff I already had written)

Analysis

The biggest crime, imo, that a character can commit… is being boring. Be rude, be evil, be sappy, be a loyal dog, be anything except uninteresting, unobtrusive, uninvolved.

So by the start of the ch6 investigation, I plain disliked Tsumugi Shirogane. Particularly as she was such a waste of the Cosplayer talent, which was something I was really excited for as someone who loves fan communities. I was super disappointed with the portrayal fans had had so far in Hifumi exactly falling in to assumptions people make about fans, and now Tsumugi seemed to be in line to be Sonia 2.0. All she’d really had as far as plot impact was be Gonta’s only true friend. She wasn’t really comic relief either; she had moments paused and timed for comedic effect, but they weren’t funny. She was just… weird.

And then. My god, when we pulled that shot put out of the trash, and Shuichi remarked about the pink fiber on it? When I realized Tsumugi was the mastermind? The one who’d been living among us all this time??? Instantly rose to become one of my top favorite Danganronpa characters. To this day I use her “oops, I let my hobbies slip in again” and other quotable lines as stock phrases XD I just can’t help myself, she’s so cute

She is absurdly intelligent; if you go back through and pay attention, Tsumugi is constantly generating conflict in subtle ways. She joins Angie’s cult to give them a significant enough percent of the class to be a real threat, in the trial she keeps diverting the topic back around to ghosts to keep Kaito scared and keep Shuichi off track, it goes on. You literally can’t help but see what she’s doing once you know that she’s actually being intentional about it, because it’s all a perfectly reasonable “role”: that of the sweet, naive Ultimate Cosplayer. And yeah, that’s why there’s a pause and focus for all of those jokes I didn’t get earlier - they’re horrifying AND funny in the light of the truth of the game

She is supremely arrogant; she spends her entire time in a killing game winking at the camera and making veiled references. Can you imagine the audacity involved in writing Kokichi? She wrote in an insanely intelligent character, gave him a motive video telling him to end the killing game, and had him survive almost till the end? She was so confident - and she was almost right to be so, because he never caught her. But he did manage to force her into stalemate so XD

She gives them sooo much leeway. She gives them Miu, she gives them Keebo, she gives Rantaro the Survivor Perk. What does she care? She’s perfectly designed everything to lead them to entrap themselves and keep killing each other. No mind control necessary - just suffering. And she considers this essential to be called the Ultimate Cosplayer.

She’s an actress. It’s part of her talent, but the entire world is essentially a stage, she’s the director and one of the main characters, and all the other characters are her props to move as she pleases. Isn’t that wild? I love her to bits for it.

Yippee! The first ones are Kirumi and Hiyoko. I'm sorry, I just can't stand Hiyoko. Everyone else seems to adore her, but I just can't handle her! How she treats my favs like Fuyuhiko and Kazuichi, and even how she treats characters that aren't my favorites, like Mikan and Hajime. She treats people so wrong! Also, I admit that I'm biased in my hatred for Kirumi for the reason of her killing Ryoma, but still. For the second one, I gotta say Teruteru! I don't understand the Teru slander, especially since people adore Miu when Teru is basically just genderswapped Miu... but, I digress. Some people say his perviness is why they hate him, but then turn around and love Miu when she LITERALLY pressed her booba onto poor Keebo at one point... xD

Mini Storytime

So

My journey with getting into the Danganronpa fandom n stuff was very very very slow. I'd heard of it before, thr first characters I'd ever seen were Monokuma and Junko n I knee what they looked like and yada yada yknow?

But it truly kinda kicked in when I was looking at speedpaints from an artist I really love

And they drew Mikan

And "I was like this looks interesting what is this from?"

And I look and they mention Danganronpa in the description and discuss where they are in the game.

And I didn't know it was a game. I thought it was just an anime.

So I was like oh cool I can look up where they are and check it out.

I looked up a clip and was

Immediately overwhelmed.

Because again I started in a place where I had nooooo clue what was going on, I didn't know what to expect; a lot of shit was happening and I was confused as all balls.

And I remember, pausing so I could see all the characters in their like standing sprites that look like they're paper, cardboard cutouts

And I remember being like "none of you even look alike what in the actual fuck what am I looking at right now"

And I remember specifically looking at Gundham,,, for the first time,,,

And I laughed at how he looked xD he was just this edgy ass dude with weird hair, he stood out to me.

Kaz did too, with his bright colors and stupid grin.

But like.

The fact I laughed at how "stupid" Gundham looked to me

To now loving him to death and him being my baby boy

Is really something, huh?

Thank you! I was nervous to post it because I’ve never written for Shuichi before (or Keebo) so I was worried it would be bad XD but I think it turned out okay! Hope you like this, and thank you for requesting! 

A-Activities (what do they like to do with their s/o? How do they spend their free time with them?)

He likes to have downtime with you. Watching movies, getting fast food, etc. He also won’t turn down playing video games with you. His secret pleasure is open world adventure games! Play skyrim with him...just do it. 

B-Beauty (what do they admire about their s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them?) 

Keebo values open-mindedness. Not everyone would date a robot, so if you treated him like any other person it would melt his mechanical heart. Keebo doesn’t care about looks, you can be short, tall, long hair, short hair, he is a pansexual icon. 

C-Comfort (how would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack/etc.?)

He would immediately google how to make someone feel better and do his best to help. He’s never had a panic attack before, and he hasn’t been depressed so he has no firsthand experience with dealing with someone who does have depressive episodes or panic attacks. He’ll whisper to you comforting words and tell you how much he loves you. To try and help you feel better, he’d give you 100 compliments and say all of the things he loves about you (it’s everything).

D-Dreams (how do they picture their future with their s/o?) 

He likes to think about his future with you, it brings him a lot of happiness. He wants a house, and wants you to stay in his future as long as possible. He’s extremely committed so once you’re with him he plans to do everything in his power to keep you in his life. He loves you, and he may not always be the best about showing it, but he’ll do his best to paint a picture of your futures together. Whatever you want in the future, he’ll make sure to achieve it for you. 

E-Equal (are they the dominant one in their relationship or are they more passive?)

Keebo is in the middle, not particularly dominant but not exactly submissive either. It depends on his mood, sometimes he likes to take the reins but other times he’d prefer if you took control. 

F-Fight (would they be easy to forgive their s/o? How are they fighting?) 

He would be quick to forgive you for any fights you do get in. But he hates conflict, so fights are few and far between. He’d rather you talk out your differences and try not to get angry over things you do or say. 

G-Gratitude (How grateful are they in general? Are they aware of what their s/o is doing for them?) 

At first, he doesn’t really understand relationships. But you showed him a whole new world, and for that he’s eternally grateful. He may ask questions about what he should or shouldn’t do, and he always respects your boundaries. He shows his gratitude through words, since he’s not the biggest on physical contact. 

H-Honesty (do they have secrets they hide from their s/o? Or do they share everything?) 

Keebo is an open book when it comes to you. He’ll tell you anything and everything, ranging from what he did that day to his deepest thoughts. He wants a partner who can tell him everything just like he tells you, and he believes honesty is one of the most important qualities there is. 

I-Inspiration (Did their s/o change them somehow, or the other way around? Like trying out new things or helped them overcome personal problems?) 

You changed him on every level, because of you he’s more understanding about the world. You showed him what love is, and opened up endless possibilities for the future. 

J-Jealousy (do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?) 

He won’t admit it, but he can get pretty jealous. He doesn’t express it much, but you’ll know he’s jealous if he gives you more physical contact than usual. He’ll hold you hand and take you away from situations he thinks could be dangerous. (And in his mind talking to strangers can be dangerous, you never know what they do in their spare time or if they have the intent to hurt you.) 

K-Kiss (are they a good kisser? What was the first kiss like?) 

He may not be the best kisser, but he makes up for it with enthusiasm. Your first kiss he was red as can be, but he had the desire to try it. He’d never kissed anyone before you, so he doesn’t have much experience. But once the first kiss is over the second...and third...and tenth kiss followed soon after. In a way, he becomes addicted to it. He kisses you every chance he gets. 

L-Love confession (how would they confess to their s/o?)

Chances are, you would have to be friends before he asked you out. He needs a solid foundation before jumping into the deep end. He’d watched a hundred youtube videos of the best way to ask someone out and apply them when he does ask you out. He was nervous, because he’d heard of the “friendzone” and didn’t want to ruin your friendship. But he would work up the courage to ask you out over time. He was very nervous...but when you said yes? It’s the happiest he’s been in his life. 

M-Marriage (do they want to get married? How do they propose? What would the marriage be like?) 

Keebo desperately wants to get married, but he’ll wait until you both feel ready to do so. He doesn’t want to rush it, and relishes in the time he gets to spend with you. Once you're married, he becomes a lot more physically affectionate. And he will cuddle with you for hours whispering “mine” to you with a huge smile on his face. 

N-Nicknames (what do they call their s/o?) 

He isn’t big on nicknames, so hearing them is rare. But occasionally he’ll call you love. He prefers your name though, and uses it often. He thinks names are special, and he absolutely loves to say your name. 

O-On cloud nine (what are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious to others? How do they express their feelings?)

When he’s in love it’s extremely obvious. Mostly because he won’t let go of your hand. You’re attached near constantly. He never thought he would like physical affection, but once he’s in love he can’t get enough of it. 

P-PDA (are they upfront about their relationship? Do they brag with their s/o in front of others? Or are they rather shy to kiss etc. when others are watching?) 

He won’t be big on PDA at first, but once you’re in love it’s near constant. He’s always holding your hand, and if he thinks someone is looking at you he may get jealous and kiss you in front of them. Just to let them know you’re taken. 

Q-Quirk (some random ability they have that’s beneficial in a relationship?) 

His enthusiasm makes the relationship stay interesting. He’s willing to try anything for you, be it a new food place or something more romantic. He’s new to relationships, but he always seems enthusiastic to try something new. Especially if he knows you really like it. 

R-Romance (how romantic are they? What would they do to make their s/o happy? Cliche or rather creative?) 

He’d do anything...anything to make you happy. He can be pretty cliche, romantic candlelit dinners or walks on the beach, but if it makes you happy he’d do it over and over again. His happiness is secondary to yours in his eyes. So even if you try something he doesn’t like he’d do it again as long as you were happy. 

S-Support (are they helping their s/o achieve their goals? Do they believe in them?) 

He has all the faith in the world for you. Whatever you decided you wanted to do with your life he’s your number 1 fan. He’ll help you whenever you need it, and wants nothing more than to see you achieve your dreams. 

T-Thrill (do they need to try out new things to spice up their relationship? Or do they prefer a certain routine?) 

Again...he’s trying anything for you. He doesn’t care if you stay safe and enjoy the simple pleasures, but if you want to try something new he’s always open to it. 

U-Understanding (how good do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?) 

He makes it his goal to learn everything about you. He loves you, and wants to know everything there is to know. 

V-Value (how important is the relationship to them? What’s it worth in comparison to other things in their life?) 

Your love means the world to him. You become his priority rather quickly, and once you’re in love there isn’t anything he wouldn’t do so you stay with him. If you broke up with him...his world would shatter. He places you as his number 1 priority. 

W-Wild Card (a random fluff headcanon)

Hand holding is his favorite thing in the world. At first he was reluctant, and couldn’t see what all the hype was about, but after he tried it he was hooked. He loves that he can show you he cares by doing something as simple as holding hands. 

X-Xoxo (are they very affectionate? Do they love to kiss and cuddle?)

In public he keeps it simple, hand holding here and a few kisses there, but as soon as you’re in private he loves to give you more intimate kisses and is always ready to cuddle. Big spoon, little spoon, one on top of the other, he doesn’t care. He just wants contact. 

Y-Yearning (how will they cope when they’re missing their partner?) 

When he misses you he calls you...a lot. He just needs to hear your voice. It soothes him in a way. For him-leave him voicemails (on the rare occasion he doesn’t answer) and he’ll go back and listen to them when he misses you. 

Z-Zeal (are they willing to go to great lengths for their relationship? If so, what kind of?) 

He’d move mountains for you, if you need anything just ask him and he’ll provide it for you. You’re hungry? He’s already ordered you food. Your back hurts? He’s ready to give you a massage. You want to cuddle? He’s on it. Anything for you.

Oh! Sure!

Well like a lot of Oumota Shippers, I see them being two halves of the same coin. They’re both so similar in so many ways, whether they care to admit it or not. They’re both intelligent (Kaito is an astronaut he HAS to be a genius Kodaka can fight me) and both have natural leadership tendencies, with Kaito’s being more about communication and trust while Kokichi uses manipulation to subtly guide people. Both have good intentions, both want to save everybody they can, both are stubborn and energetic--hell, both of them put up high, high walls around their hearts that they’re not so willing to let down for just anyone.

And that brings me to my next point that I feel a lot of Oumota shippers agree on--Kaito and Kokichi were the only two to ever see each other in their most vulnerable states.

In the hanger, they both saw each other at their lowest points. Their weakest, most vulnerable points on a voyage that had no passion or purpose, one that they were both forced in to, one that they never wanted to walk together. Their hands forced, they made do with what the situation gave them, and they persevered and cooperated together in order to destroy the killing games once and for all.

Now, people who are against the ship typically say Kaito hates Kokichi. Which is fair--Kaito has a very bad case of foot in mouth syndrome and extreme emotions, but there’s something peculiar about how he speaks of Kokichi during and after chapter 5′s trial.

When the narrative has a character point it out, you know it’s gotta be significant--and it is. Kaito is just as much of a liar as Kokichi--not as obviously, but he just refuses to talk about anything with anyone. Still, Keebo expressing that Kaito was singing Kokichi’s praises all of a sudden shows that the two of them shared a certain kind of special, twisted bond due to their situation.

They’re also great rivals, and I’m a sucker for rival ships. They’re messy and sweet and well meaning, bad at being honest, tearing each other’s walls down and holding each other to feel safe and secure again as the other falls apart over the grief they’ve been hiding--and the possibility of them not tearing their walls down, but come to a silent, mutual understanding not to push or shove their way into each other’s hearts, to let the other come forth at their own pace. There’s so much potential with them!

They match just enough to have a lot in common, and in knowing that, they both are aware of what the other needs and wants in reflection of themselves.

There’s honestly a lot to love so I’d ask more Oumota shippers too xD

Can I have the Drv3 boys with their Ultimate Herpetologist s/o(They study reptiles and amphibians) showing them a desert rain frog that they held on hand, but for some reason the sight of the boys set the frog off into a squeaking fit? I had this idea while I was watching a video of the squeaking desert rain frog and thought it's sooo cute, evn though it's probably scared/angry asf XD

It's kinda similar to sassy parrot. Sorry if it will be too similar if it comes to sytuations...

Ryoma Hoshi

You were surprised to have desert rain frog but you took extremely good care of it.

You wanted to show Ryoma your new pet but you weren't sure how will it react.

He went for it anyways you two approached your frog and it started squeaking Ryoma chuckled as he didn't knew that frog is either angry or scared.

You tried to calm it down as you explained and Ryoma didn't knew what to do so he just watched you.

He felt guilty as he apologized and tried to leave but you stopped him.

The frog stopped squeaking and you were relieved. You two continued hanging out as you told him something about this frog.

Gonta Gokuhara

Gonta was excited to see this frog so he was surprised to hear it squeaking as you two approached it.

It was sure mad and the case was: the frog was hungry so it was now also mad.

Gonta said that it was hungry and you knew that you can't feed it bugs when Gonta is around but your frog will refuse to eat anything else.

You asked Gonta politely to leave since you didn't wanted him to witness you feeding bugs to your frog.

He didn't ask why you wanted him to leave so he waited for you outside. You quickly fed it and let Gonta back inside.

He was confused but he was happy that the frog is now okay.

He always was ready to see any reptile or amphibian.

When you told him about desert rain frog he was super excited since he never saw frog like this before.

Too bad frog didn't share the excitement as it started squeaking loudly. Keebo found it cute but you explained that this frog was mad... You weren't sure why tho...

Keebo was disappointed but the frog wasn't mad for longer time. So it wasn't that bad.

Kaito Momota

He loved to spend time with you no matter what you do both of you allways have fun.

Once you got your hands on this frog you immediately showed it to Kaito.

He was surprised as he heard it squeak. You told him about this whole mad squeak thing earlier and it was wierd that the frog acted like this only around Kaito...

He tried to not mind it and possibly avoid this frog because he didn't wanted it to be so pissed all the time. But one day it finally stopped and Kaito was glad.

Shuichi Saihara

He doesn't know how you got this frog and if it's even legal.

Shuichi didn't question it but wanted to see it.

He was surprised to hear such squeak but knew it was coming from the frog. He asked you what it ment and was a bit disappointed by this fact.

The frog kept squeaking but you managed to calm it down as Shuichi could take closer look.

Rantaro Amami

You two were on a trip and you were there for research about this adorable creatures Rantaro on the other hand was simply tourist.

He didn't wanted to distract you while you were working and looking for them but he was walking among the sand close to you.

You saw a frog buried and struggling in sand as you managed to save it. It wasn't a big deal but the frog kept following you after that.

Thanks to the fact that it wasn't sacred being close to you you got couple of pictures and few informations just by looking at how it behaves.

As Rantaro looked for you he was surprised to see this frog so close to you.

When he approached both of you the frog sort of freaked out as it started squeaking.

Rantaro apologized and luckily frog didn't ran away. It did came back to you some time later.

Kokichi Ouma

When Kokichi heard about your frog he was DYING to see it.

Of course you let him meet your frog.

Kokichi was very suspicious around your frog as he was slowly observing it.

You gave Kokichi stare as he knew he will pay for this if he dares to scare it.

He smiled like a devil and your frog entered aggressive mode as it squeaked violently.

You shoved Kokichi out of your frogs sight and tried to calm it down.

You scolded Kokichi for this but he thought it was worth it as you couldn't stay mad at him for long time.

Korekiyo Shinguji

He was curious and wanted too see the frog you were talking about for quite long time.

As you agreed with him both of you proceeded to walk towards it.

He was shocked as he heard its squeaking. He knew what it ment and it possibly was mad but why whould it be?

Well there wasn't much to discuss as you tried feeding it and this wasn't the case.

It seemed like Korekiyo was reason of its anger.

He offered that he could just leave but you didn't wanted to be rude so you tried your best to calm down this adorable creature.

You didn't fail and Kiyo could hear you talking about this frog.

ah  you clearly do not know me for long  xD so in that case, hello nice to meet you and welcome to my tumblr!  my favorite NDRV3 character is Keebo :) he is the big reason why/how i got real deep into the DR franchise….i loved DR from the beginning but it made me love it even more!

the most fleshed out ones are M1-R41/Mirai, Keebo’s big sis, and Yuzuki Oshiro (Ultimate Librarian)

and the others who just have names and talents that i like A Lot and do intend to flesh out are: Sora Yamazaki (Ultimate Zoologist), Kazue Kuroshima (Ultimate Violinist), Koharu Himura (Ultimate Mangaka), Emi Morimoto (Ultimate Secretary), Izumi Fujioka (Ultimate Kickboxer), and Suzu Fukui (Ultimate Paranormal Investigator).

SO M1-R41/Mirai and she’s basically Keebo’s older sister, who was also a camera for Team DR until she started keeping her memories between seasons and went rogue in Season 52, she’s a precious girl who was based visually on Chiaki and she’s #Blessed

and then Yuzuki Oshiro, Ultimate Librarian, and she’s an absolute gem who loves books and helping people and is a sweet baby (in her v3 verse she was in Season 13 and got traumatized and now she’s agoraphobic and housebound and hangs out on the DR forums with the handle @BibliOishii and runs the safe space section).

Sora and Koharu and Emi are all in my headcanon Season 52 -- they all survived to the end with Rantaro -- and Kazue, Suzu, and Izumi I came up with for funsies xD (fun fact, Suzu is nonbinary and they’re awesome).

Spoilers spoilers spoilers!  More below the cut.

I know I keep saying this, but I’m still 100% aboard the “the memories Monokuma and the Monokubs gave the kids are fake” train.  Ie, these are normal, non-Ultimate kids shoved into this mess.  I’m still not sure why Monokuma gave them Ultimate memories...  Does Monokuma want to see how normal kids behave in this setting?  Has he killed off all the actual Ultimates that haven’t gone into hiding by now?

It’s impossible to say until the game is over, but so far, I feel like this is my least favorite Danganronpa.  I’m still enjoying it, but...  Even by Danganronpa standards, this game is waaaaay over-the-top, and I’m having trouble... parsing it?  Respecting it?

Basically, by giving these kids fake memories (Kirumi’s Monokub pad and Kiyo’s backstory with his sister), everything they do is 1,000% manipulated and unrealistic.  Kirumi has to kill everyone because she’s the Prime Minister?  Kiyo has to... kill young girls... to befriend his dead sister in the afterlife...  And also she was his lover and possesses him...?

Somehow...  This makes everything feel so much more futile and pointless than ever.  People are making deadly decisions based on memories and selves that aren’t even real (assuming I’m correct that the memories are fake).  It makes me feel so gross.

I’m sad because, while I didn’t really like Kiyo, I often shared his opinion in trials.  Tony liked him, and we were boosting his friendship, so again, we’re back to having zero friends (we keep picking the murderers!  Oh no!  XD).  KIND OF LIKE HIMIKO, AMIRITE?!  *groan*

I guess the good (???) news is that Angie did indeed bite it, as I predicted/hoped.  I sense that she wasn’t really a bad person, but she thought her actions always had zero repercussions because she was favored by a god.  Annnnd as I type that, I realize that yes, she was a bad person, no matter how naive she was in that belief.  They couldn’t have moved forward from the Student Council Dictatorship without Angie’s death.

I feel bad for Tenko, though...  Angie, Tenko, and Miu have been thorns in my side this whole time, Angie and Tenko because of their repetitive gags and Miu because... she’s... gross, frankly.  But, god...  Tenko was a little nasty to people she didn’t like (read: men), but she was willing to endanger herself for someone she loved.  How sad that she died over Kiyo’s corrupted (and disturbing) memories.

I’m nervous because there are probably two more trials before the climax trial with the powers that be in the Academy.  Plus, Kaito seems to be sick...  I’m worried he’ll be pushed to do something he normally wouldn’t for fear of dying of illness?  

Please don’t take Kaito.

I have to say, as the pool of students dwindles, and as we learn more about everyone...  I’m actually growing fond of Kokichi.  I disliked him at first, but the further along I go, the more I wonder...  Is he more scared than any of them?  I dunno, I feel like he’s going to crack and we’ll see a different side of him.

Or maybe I just like him more because I’ve seen how awful Angie and Kiyo are, lol?!  Or maybe it has to do with how he’s clearly following Shuichi around like a puppy, lol?!

I’m a little worried...  I’m not interested in Miu or Himiko.  I think Tsumugi is cute, but I... don’t... trust her, somehow?  But I kind of like Keebo and Gonta, and I’m growing interested in Kokichi.  I love Kaito and Maki!  

Anyway, I’m gonna lose someone I like, is what I’m saying.

(Also, are these ‘bugs’ Gonta keeps seeing nanocameras?  I noticed that there aren’t any cameras).

My impressions of Danganronpa : Killing Harmony.

If you are fine with being spoiled or already know everything about the game then you can read this ^^

So! As I said here is what I thought of the game! I’m not really used to do game review so don’t expect too much! I’m going to talk about each chapter and then I will answer some of your questions ^^ Prologue : Really interesting, I liked how they started it by showing bits of all the previous game, really helped “hyping” the game. The story of the prologue was also really good like I was really into it and having some mysteries right from the beginning was a good idea! :)

I also was really happy to be able to play a female protagonist (poor naive me).

Chapter 1 :

Okay so. That chapter destroyed me. And I doubt I’m the only one xD

BUT. I was really not a big fan of the way we had been “tricked” into thinking that the protagonist for this game was a girl. Like with the rest of the game I learned to love Shuichi but damn. Let the girl be the main hero at least once.

Aaaand…Rantaro was one of the character I loved the most. And he was soooo interesting!! When I first saw him I was sure that he was going to be one of the last students alive. Boy was I wrong. I nearly stopped playing when I saw that he was THE FIRST victim. I understand why they did it but for me it’s still a BIG waste of potential. (Plus I’m still bitter that we don’t know his talent. Like he is supposed to be the Ulitimate Survivor but what was his talent in the previous killing game?) Kaede “murder” wasn’t that well thought but since it was more or less something decided at the last moment/day I guess it’s okay. Plus when it got explained I remember thinking “well she was still (un)lucky that it really fell on him and didn’t miss him”…Well…

Her execution…Damn. Poor Kaede…Like when she got dragged away and Shuichi was trying to grab her hand…My heart… And the last scene in her lab with the music finished destroying my heart.

Chapter 2 :

I liked this chapter just fine but to be honest the chapter 1 was soooo “big” that the chapter 2 seemed almost lacking.

I didn’t mind the way they brought back the “motive video” with the new twist. It was interesting. I laughed way too hard at the Bug Meeting XD Kukichi had the right idea once again but he really should have explained everything right from the beginning but well, he wouldn’t be him if he had done so haha! At first I found Kaito really obnoxious (and I thought he was going to be the killer when he asked me to meet him outside and then take off my jacket, like I thought he had stolen my room key and was going to see his motive) but he was really well written so I quickly started liking him ^^

Ryoma…I found him really interesting too so I was really sad to see him be the next victim. Especially the way/reason for his death…Like damn. He really needed a hug, not someone to murder him.

Kirumi was really smart, her murder was nearly perfect and even the way she tried to manipulate everyone after her trial… Also I couldn’t help but cheer for her when she ran away even if I knew that it was useless. And the CG we got when she was running for her life while saying that she wasn’t going to die…Damn… Her execution too…She tried so hard…And yet…

Chapter 3 :

Sooo…I liked Angie at first, she was cute and her sprites were really funny. But she really started creeped me out in chapter 2 and by the time we got to chapter 3 I was really hoping that she would be the next victim (yes, shame on me, but I liked the others farr better >w

So when we discovered Angie body instead of being “oh no she is dead” I was more “couldn’t she at least resurrect him before dying?!”…Yes, I know, shame on me. But c’mon, Rantaro was one of my fave! (I hoped for his return until the last second of the game)

I think it was at the end of the previous chapter that we learned Maki talent and if at first the way she acted reminded me a bit too much of Kirigiri the way she was developped was really good and I liked her more and more with every chapter!

Plus the scene where Kaito hugs her bc he is afraid was just too cute haha!

Back to the murders! When Korekiyo suggested to do a seance and said that it would have to be pitch black and be into one of the three room I knew right away that one new murder was going to happen. But I thought that Kiyo was the one who was going to die (and that Kaito would be the killer). Until I heard Tenko said that she would do it and saying all those things to Himiko. At that point she had so much death flags around her that there was no way that could survive. I didn’t like her that much at first but chapter 2 (trial) and chapter 3 really made me like her so I was sad to know that she was going to be killed.

Also am I the only one who saw a lot of commun things between Himiko/Tenko and Saionji/Mahiru? And between the 3rd chapter’s murder(er) of sdr2 and v3?

I don’t have much to say about the trial appart…wtf Korekiyo!?

The CG of Kiyo and his sister with the little * was funny though XD

I was pretty neutral about him (hadn’t seen a lot of his FTE) and his trial didn’t really made me feel pity for him so I wasn’t too sad that he got executed.

I’m still really curious about how a character could have been brought back to life…

Chapter 4 :

The concept of this chapter was really interesting!! I’m not going to lie I was a bit disappointed with how they treated Miu, she was supposed to be a genius but she hadn’t been really useful until that moment. And even when she talked in trial she mostly said stupid/dirty things.

Also I couldn’t help but think that most of the things she did build was the same things that Souda could have done so I would have liked to see more special things about her ^^

But her idea for the murder was just really good. Her only mistake was to target Ouma. He is the smartest character of the game. Don’t pull anything on him. He WILL know. And he did and was able to act against it.

Let’s talk about the trial. I really liked how it went. The way Kokichi spilled everything because people were telling him that the truth was always better, just to show them how terrible the truth can be. One of the part that really made me stop for a second was the moment everyone was telling him to stop harrassing Gonta and he just said something like “oh, but you were all fine with ganging up on me earlier?”. He had a lot of moments like this when he just become serious and says things that make you think and I loved it.

About Gonta. Okay…Hear me out. How cool would it have been if Gonta had actually done all this by himself and was just pretending to be “stupid” since the beginning but was in fact a bit like Celeste (in the way that he was fooling everyone and waiting for the right time)

Don’t misunderstand, I love Gonta, got heartbroken over his crying sprites/voice but at one point during his trial I was like “omg don’t tell me that he his actually evil!? No way!!” and yeah, he wasn’t.

I’m really bad with bugs (sorry Gonta) so his execution was even worse for me than it would have been with something else.

Also I remember being really curious about the motive and frustrated that AI Gonta wouldn’t say anything x)

Chapter 5:

Can you just imagine how different the story would have been if Miu had trusted the others with her inventions? Just…Why, Miu??

So…I know a lot of you love Kaito and I do too but I was really hoping during all the chapter that he was the one who had died. Of course things never go as I want to.

Once again we were able to see how smart Kokichi was and the way we were able to glimpse a bit at his true feelings was, well…At least we got something out of his death T_T

And can we talk about his death? Out of all the death since the beginning of the DR games I think it was one of the most horrible.

To be honest when we saw the moment where Kaito told Maki to run and that he was going to do something I thought that he was going to kill himself. That way Maki wouldn’t have been the blackened and no one else would be executed. I also thought that Kukichi had done this to his body so it would be “less boring”. Of course it couldn’t have been so easy.

Can you even imagine the inteligence of Kokichi though? He was able to write a whole scenario for what would happen during the trial? Who could have done that??

Kaito’s execution…Well in your face Monokuma! Congrats Kaito! I wasn’t sad for him even if I really liked him because he was able to go out with a bang, like a true hero.

Also Maki’s confession and teary sprite…My heart…

Chapter 6:

Sooo…I knew that something was going to happen with Keebo when we saw that he got hurt during Kaito’s execution…But I didn’t expect that XD

But he was badass.

I really like the exploring (Kokichi’s bedroom and lab please) and the concept of “time left”. Plus finally knowing more about Rantaro was a good thing.

For the trial and the big reveal……I’m not a big fan? Like I don’t know the direction the game took was a bit too “breaking the fourth wall” and a bit too insisting on the whole “this is the last game”. Tsumugi was really good as a mastermind though, I didn’t expect it at all, and especially not like that!

But, but. I’m going with the last suggestion Shuichi made : that most of the thing they remember are in fact true. Let me explain.

Tsumugi said that the “light” put informations/new memories into your brain. But for me it’s more likely that it could only overwrite/modify memories. There is no way that it was able to create Talent. And just thinking that you have a talent doesn’t make you suddenly talented. And we were able to see with multiple characters (like Miu) that they were indeed true Ultimate. Plus creating a personality doesn’t give you an illness, or make you fall in love (especially since it didn’t happen right away). Also I get that they were suposed to be all fan of the game but how were they able to have all this technology (like Monokuma) if it was really just a game? So I can’t say for sure what is true and false right now because IT IS complicated but for me they were real Ultimate and most of their personalities/memories were true.

Next…Noooo Keebo!! Not you too!!

In your face Tsumugi! Bye, bye Monokuma (he made me laugh so much during the trial, especially when he said things like “you can’t end this game…Or I’ll be out of job!” and “Everyone love me, I can even become like this *become ultra muscular*)

I thought the game was going to end with an open-ending like “are they still alive?” but I’m glad it didn’t. But damn, only 3 survivors? And nearly all of my fave are dead…

Soooo that’s all for my opinion on each chapter, I probably forgot a lot of things but you know most of it! Now I’ll try to answer questions I got about the game!

Who are my favorites characters?

With how I talked about him that will surprise absolutely no one but : Kokichi!

He is not the only one though, in no particular order: Rantaro, Keebo, Maki, Shuichi, Kaede, Tenko.

Will I play the V3 characters?

Yes! I love them so much that I absolutely want to play them. But I have a few things to think about ;

On this blog or another? Having them all on this blog might be a bit too much, don’t you think? 16 more characters and yeah I don’t want to only play the survivors….Let me know what you think about it!

How? By that I mean what story can I do that will let them be on a blog and all alive? I can go with them having been put on a simulation too like the dr2 cast or I can make it so as if all the death weren’t real and they were in fact still all keeped alive somewhere (one of the only way I could see the resurrection that should have happened in chapter 2 work), maybe they were put in a simulation where they really “experimented” their death. Or I can go with the story of the bonus mode (that it was for a love show and not a killing game) but that would take away a lot of things…
