Best design? Ooohhhhh, uhhhhh....that’s really hard to say. But I will admit as the series goes on I find that I like the uniform designs from the earlier games better, becuause as they go on, they become way less uniform-looking, like, what the fuck is that even Rantaro, what the fuck are you wearing y’all in V3 I know you have talents so get to be eccentric but those are not uniforms you’re supposed to be in school uniforms you can’t just slap a school emblem on anything and call it a day.

I can’t remember my initial opinions on ‘dying/not dying’ from 1 and 2, but for v3 I absolutely predicted Kaito, Kokichi, and possibly Tenko to make it to the end. So, uh, whoops. Also obviously Kaede.

65.) What’s Your Option On The Danganronpa 3 Anime?

I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT AND YOU CAN PRY SIDE HOPE FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS LET THEM HAVE THEIR HAPPY ENDING.

I mean I do have 2 complaints -- the timing of 77-B’s recovery did seem rushed, but timeskips hapen and that’s nothing fanfic can’t fix/expand on, and I really wish they had been wearing the Despair outfits they clearly went in with rather than their in-program outfits, but I also do get that the art team wanted them more recognizable -- but those are super minor and my absolute sheer love for the anime overpowers it.

69.) Hope or Despair?

Not to sound like Nagito or anything, but Hope hands down. It’s kind of-- it’s kind of a reason why I ended up identifying wit him very hard, I guess? Because the idea of hanging onto hope like that...to believe in the idea that no matter how tough it gets, no matter how much suffering there is, it’s going to get better? That there is always, always, always a light at the end of the darkness, and that no matter what, goodness overcomes evil? Yeah, same. In all of my writing, no matter how much suffering I put my characters through, I refuse to give them anything less than a happy ending, because no matter what anyone’s suffered, no matter how much has happened or what they’ve done, I believe absolutely in the power of hope and redemption. I believe that the pregame V3 gang were a lot like themselves in the game. There had to be something to build their personas off -- you can’t overwrite personalities from scratch, and I cannot see them being 180s, that doesn’t make sense to me. They were a lot like themselves, but their personas were...themselves, but warped and twisted into parodies and stereotypes that would be more entertaining.

but tldr they’re 

the most fleshed out ones are M1-R41/Mirai, Keebo’s big sis, and Yuzuki Oshiro (Ultimate Librarian)

and the others who just have names and talents that i like A Lot and do intend to flesh out are: Sora Yamazaki (Ultimate Zoologist), Kazue Kuroshima (Ultimate Violinist), Koharu Himura (Ultimate Mangaka), Emi Morimoto (Ultimate Secretary), Izumi Fujioka (Ultimate Kickboxer), and Suzu Fukui (Ultimate Paranormal Investigator).

SO M1-R41/Mirai and she’s basically Keebo’s older sister, who was also a camera for Team DR until she started keeping her memories between seasons and went rogue in Season 52, she’s a precious girl who was based visually on Chiaki and she’s #Blessed

and then Yuzuki Oshiro, Ultimate Librarian, and she’s an absolute gem who loves books and helping people and is a sweet baby (in her v3 verse she was in Season 13 and got traumatized and now she’s agoraphobic and housebound and hangs out on the DR forums with the handle @BibliOishii and runs the safe space section).

Sora and Koharu and Emi are all in my headcanon Season 52 -- they all survived to the end with Rantaro -- and Kazue, Suzu, and Izumi I came up with for funsies xD (fun fact, Suzu is nonbinary and they’re awesome).

Listen regardless of shipping, it just makes me really happy that Hajime, despite being freaked out, will try to get to know and understand Nagito, and tries to get through to him and ask about him, and learn how he sees things.

It’s really, really different from, say....V3, where Shuichi, though he spends a lot of time with Kokichi if you do his FTEs, doesn’t try at all to understand him and even then its on a surface level and we never actually get through to Kokichi or learn anything about him beyond the lies.

(I’m a little salty about that.)

Willing to go out of his way to talk to and relate to others, willing to do things for people if he knows he can, and his absolute devotion to his sisters is admirable.worst quality: BESIDES THE FACT THAT WE KNOW NEXT TO NOTHING ABOUT HIM SINCE HE DIED FIRST???? kirumi is going to kill someone on behalf of someone else’s orders (her introduction convo set off some red flags for me)

ryoma is going to die, but as a victim

tenko and/or miu are both going to die, either as victim or culprit (miu is more likely to be culprit, tenko more likely to be victim)

i don’t think kiyo is going to survive either, he’s too on the weird side even if i love him, but idk how

certain survivors are probably at LEAST shuichi kaito and kokichi, possibly tenko if she makes it, possibly maybe keebo if he’s lucky

monodam is secretly helping us somehow (i thought it was monophanie that would be at first, but after the execution in ch 1 nope lol its probably monodam)

rereading lps of dr1 and dr2 because i’d forgotten a lot abt the little details of the game and wanted to refresh -- 

dr1 was really....boring. like even now i think i couldn’t say who my favorite was because everyone was so....meh. i liked naegi’s character arc, for what it was, and syo was fucking hilarious and i love her, but otherwise....eh??? eh. 

though it was fun because every time togami opened his mouth i a) wanted to punch him in it and b) thought of kokichi and how different they are for all that they’re saying this is a game and they want to win/beat the mastermind -- the only real sacrifice kokichi made was his own life (gonta was because he had no other choice, tbh, and gonta was the only one who would actually listen to him and watch the flashback light), and he never once tampered with evidence or fucked with a crime scene to make things more fun, only lied, and once the lie was outed he immediately was like “lol yeah i lied here’s the truth” -- byakuya on the other hand is a ginormous piece of shit who fucked with a crime scene to frame fukawa/syo just to out her and then didn’t give a shit about if it would have thrown off the results, and kept being a lone wolf bastard til the very end, and made it very clear he didn’t care about the others and would sacrifice anyone and everyone else to win.

i also didn’t like how in dr1 naegi was basically carrying all the trials, because kirigiri and togami spoonfed info and otherwise let naegi do all the work and everyone else was dumb as rocks. it’s jarring coming from v3 when everyone actively participated in the conversations, and even kokichi wasn’t that obstructive when it mattered.

dr2 is a lot better about trial difficulty and character writing, but hm. mm. it’s weird but in general v3 feels leaps and bounds better than both.

aside from that, i was right and kuzuryuu is still one of my babies and i love him holy shit, and i forgot how much i liked gundam, but uh. um. oh my god, why do i actually like komaeda so much???? wtf??? his free time events paint a whole different picture of him and the reveal that he actually has a) a shitload of trauma that makes his obsession with hope a believable and kind of tragic coping mechanism and b) a terminal brain disease that actually fucks with your behavior and personality, so uh....yeah, he’s a hot mess and very unsettling, but he has reasons to be and i really pity him. i didn’t know any of that, or didn’t remember, and it’s super tragic to me. i really like him, and it strikes me as sad/funny that he’s actively trying to help but because he’s so weird everyone’s constantly telling him to fuck off.

i like him a lot and pity him, and am glad for 2.5 and 3 to show us he’s going to be relatively okay (and tbh his aborted confession in his last FTE destroys me, wtf, ow). and though tbh 99% of why i feel weird about liking him so much is because of the fandom, i...screw it? i like him he’s a great character.

been quiet about the LP and shit but mmmMMMM MY GOD

as of intermission of trial 4 i cannot believe i’m about to say this but

while i love shuichi and kaito, kokichi ouma - that little goddamn motherfucking shithead - is my favorite male character (i say male bc maki is hands down favorite female)

like....once i realized his character type and what his Deal was, what his whole game was - that he’s the lying trickster trolling bastard that has just enough sincerity in him that he’s Actually Helping but he is never, ever going to be straight-up about it - i was like “oh no”. tbh he reminds me a lot of xigbar a lot, with how little he takes everything seriously, and how vague and teasing he is about everything, and how he knows so much but says so little, and a lot of other little things. 

and watching trial 4, seeing how he and kaito are playing off each other and figuring out their dichotomy and what they represent -- kaito’s extreme belief and kokichi’s extreme suspicion, with shuichi as the middle ground -- and that both of them are right, to an extent!!! it’s not good to suspect everyone and trust no one but yourself, not when you need to work together, but at the same time it’s not safe to just blindly unquestioningly believe everyone when this a place where murders will happen and people you know will be the culprits. i LOVE how this is going it’s so much more fascinating than the other two games, theme wise.

but yeah i love kokichi and while i will be very mad if he stays flat and doesn’t get a character arc after this where he learns that sometimes you can trust people even when it doesn’t seem like you should, he’s still my new shitbaby either way.

like....tbh i don’t remember dr2 all that well but i do recall dr1 pretty thoroughly and i didn’t attach to ANYONE near as hard, like...ask me my favorite from dr1 and my answer is “.....naegi and kyoko, i guess?” tbh. like...i did generally at least appreciate everyone to some level but none of them Stood Out to me.

dr2 i need to rewatch, tbh, but i know i really liked kuzuryuu -- even then, though (even if maybe it’s because i don’t recall the game so well) it didn’t like punch me in the face with SO MANY FEELINGS
