The fight for justice starts with a little invitation...
Tumblr media
...because evil is prevalent and vehement.
Here's a reminder that Season 2 of The Fiery Priest is scheduled to air on Friday, November 8, 2024 in South Korea. The Fiery Priest is the second of Park Jae-Beom's "Justice Trilogy" as it's frequently called (Chief Kim aka Good Manager ; The Fiery Priest; Vincenzo in order of release) and I would love an invitation into screenwriter Park's brain because his creations are so very very good.
On this blog, I frequently talk about movies but dramas, specifically "kdramas," are another delight and from script to director(s) to casting to cinematography and soundtrack, this trilogy holds a special place for me. I think I could write a novel on the themes and scenes in Vincenzo alone. When not only the titular character but the entire cast keeps you watching, you know it's the good stuff. So happy all three shows were twenty episodes and didn't follow the more current trend of shortening the season. The slow character development enabled the viewer to discover individual stories without muddying up the plot too much.
I'm looking forward to watching as soon as Season 2 of The Fiery Priest is available for me to view, and if you haven't seen any of the above shows, I recommend them!
*Pictured above: Kim Nam-Gil as Father Kim (top) and Song Joong-Ki as Vincenzo. Two unconventional "heroes" fighting the good fight.

DRAMA REVIEW | Light Shop (2024)
Tumblr media
I don’t use the word “masterpiece” easily because it’s no easy to create a film or tv show that’s literally perfect but that’s the only way to describe Disney+ kdrama Light Shop.
Actor turned director Kim Hee Won makes a perfect directorial debut with this very human and heartfelt Korean gothic ghost love story.
Light Shop is a masterfully crafted production, every detail full of significance and important to understand the story as it progresses. No character is unimportant, all playing a key role in the lives of each other; and the performances of each actor nuance. Never giving away too much but managing to connect with the audience at the same time.
The technical aspects, such as cinematography, lighting and special effects, are simply some of the best you will ever find in a Korean drama.
This is the kind of kdrama you want to watch without knowing anything beforehand, but you should know the first four episodes are key for the world building and then, it twist and turns in order to take you on one of the most beautifully made rides.
Perfect.

I’ve read that Bo-geol hasn’t given the necessary reaction to finding Mok-ha alive, so he can’t be Ki-ho. Then why is it that I get Soft Boy (TM) vibes from him every time he looks at her? I’ll do a gif set on it soon, but yep, he definitely is giving the appropriate reaction to seeing Mok-ha alive, in classic subtle Ki-ho style.
P.S. Even back on the island, he was RELIEVED to see Mok-ha, like that’s all he ever wanted - to find her alive and well. Ki-ho was never extra, his eyes and demeanour spoke more than his words and Bo-geol is the same. No doubt that he’s either Ki-ho or at least knows where Ki-ho is/what happened to him.

Weird question but do you prefer bkdk or dkbk? Or bkdkbk?
I prefer dkbk mostly because I feel the characterization in that dynamic feels closer to canon but I don't really care who does what as long as characterization is on point.
If ur asking because you want to know what to tag it as, anything goes really. People perceive things differently and it is out of my hands.

If the second brother turns out to be the childhood friend, fine whatever, I don’t care. It’s episode 3 and they’ve barely interacted. But if she doesn’t end up with Woo Hak, I’m rioting.

Please Don’t Date Him. 7
Story: 7
Acting: 10
Chemistry: 10
Comparable to: ?
This is a weird cookie cutter nutter romcom drama that’s absolutely not to be taken seriously at all. Although beneath its craziness, the last couple episodes, there’s a nice message to not judge or bully anyone especially from hearing it from rumors or gossip. Both main leads have wonderful chemistry as well as the rest of the cast. There’s quite some uneven episodes. Sometimes it drag, then rushed very fast. It could have used better editing. Is it a perfect drama, far from it. On the other hand it’s a cute fun quick drama too.
