What I love in Mark of Athena is that it’s mentioned that she keeps her cabin in the Argo II bare so she can focus and doesn’t get distracted. I just love the fact that she has ADHD and she’s set up systems for herself to push through it. I want more of Annabeth hacking her brain bc honestly it’s just so validating
i feel like everyone forgets annabeth also has adhd bc i need more rep in the fandom of her pls. annabeth chase who falls asleep in a class she has a 102 in. annabeth chase who accidentally has turned in english homework written entirely in ancient greek. annabeth chase who asks “what are we doing?” during every group project. pls that girl is not paying attention shes just better at hiding it.

Not quite a role swap but like artistic Annabeth and STEM Percy AU? Just fluff and that couple dynamic but not in the way it’s normally done I think would be immaculate
in which Percy’s good with numbers, but Annabeth teaches him the importance of art,, percabeth
Percy’s good with numbers. He sees the world from a logical point of view, and he always has. Math is something that makes sense to him — he prefers it over everything else because he finds that with numbers, there’s always an answer. He isn’t fond of the unknown. He prefers a set process that has a definitive answer. It’s the life of engineering that’s followed him into his personal life. But with Annabeth, he finds he prefers the unknown.
There’s something artistic about Annabeth, Percy can’t help but think. It’s the way she focuses on each piece she creates, entirely consumed in the beauty of it. It’s the way she bites on her tongue that just pokes through her lips with every brush stroke. It’s her paint-splattered clothes and messy ponytail that make her seem like a masterpiece, handcrafted from the heavens above.
He finds beauty in her and the things that she creates. There are no logistics in art. It’s open-ended, with infinite possibilities, and he quickly learns to appreciate the perfection of all things that have no definitive answer. He wants to venture into the unknown and see what it creates when he gives it the opportunity to.
Annabeth, just like the art she creates, is unpredictable. No amount of math or science can ever do things in the way that she does, one paint stroke at a time, and he doesn’t want it to.
From where Percy’s seated in the art studio, he can see the way sunlight pours over Annabeth’s body. They’re high up in the New York City skyline, and it’s only appropriate that the background is as breathtaking as Annabeth is in this moment.
She’s covered in paint, as usual, but it just makes him see her as a work of art. There’s a smudge of grey on her cheek from where she’d attempted to scratch an itch, though he doesn’t tell her that. Her hair glows golden, flyaways visible against the illuminated skyline.
He shifts in his seat on a table clattered with art supplies, and Annabeth shoots him a scolding look.
“Don’t move,” she warns him, but there’s a playful tone to her voice.
“It’s not my fault you refuse to put a couch in here,” he says, pointedly shifting again. “I’m going to break my tailbone against this table. And really, is it that bad of an idea to have some furniture in here? I spend almost all my time in this place.”
“You’re welcome to go to the library with all your other engineers,” she sneers, lifting a wet paintbrush at him menacingly. “Maybe you should have chosen a better major.”
“I like numbers,” he defends. “With numbers, you can be sure. With numbers, there’s always a correct answer. You just have to be smart enough to find it.”
“I can’t believe I’m dating someone who like calculus.”
“All I’m saying is that I like being sure.”
Annabeth lifts the corner of her lips as she resumes painting against the canvas. He cranes his neck to see what she’s working on, but it’s no use. She’s turned too far away from him to properly see anything besides a blur.
“I like art,” Annabeth says softly. “Are you sure about me?”
She says it with a calm voice. It’s a light comment, and he thinks that she’s just messing with him, but it still kills him to think she may feel he’s unsure about her when she’s the one thing he knows he needs.
He stands up from the table, clearing a spot for his computer that had been on his lap. He has to step over various canvases and piles of things he couldn’t even begin to name before he makes his way to her side. He immediately pulls her against him, lips pressing against her paint-covered cheek with a featherlight touch.
“You’re the one thing I am sure about,” he whispers into her ear, pressing a kiss to the shell of her ear. He can practically feel the shiver that races its way up her spine, and it makes him smile. “You, Annabeth Chase, are a work of art. You make me see the world in a way I never did before. If there’s one thing I can promise you, it’s that you’re it for me.”
Annabeth turns her face so that she can look him in the eyes. She looks so cute from close up that he can’t help but kiss the tip of her nose.
“You’re it for me too,” she tells him. “Even if you like doing math for a living.”
Percy laughs into the crook of her neck, nuzzling the soft skin there. He breathes her in, cherishing the smell of her and a mix of paints and primers.
He stays there for a moment, hugging her by the waist with his face pressed into her neck while she begins to finish what she’s painting. He likes being with her like this, against her warm body that smells so much like his home – like the home he wants to come back to every night and wake up to every morning.
When he does lift his head, he sees her entirely devoured in finishing what she’s created. Up close, he can better see the way her eyebrows scrunch slightly, and the reflection of the canvas popping with color. Her eyelashes are curved to perfection, framing the gray irises he’s fallen in love with.
And he remembers why he fell in love with those eyes now; it was the first painting she’d gifted to him after he told her about his fondness for the ocean. He’d told her about his days spent at Montauk, watching the waves crash against the shore, feeling the sunlight burn his skin. And he remembers that she’d told him how she prefers the rainy days where thunder can be felt shaking the ground, where it pours so hard the power goes out. It wasn’t until weeks later that she showed him what she’d been working on, and it was an image of a storm along the coast of Montauk. A symbol of the two of them coming together — the storm in the sea. Annabeth had come clean and mentioned spending a few weekends at the beach he grew up along, how she had spent hours trying to get it right. The dark clouds above the sea she’d painted had matched her eyes – the violent waves crashing against the rocky shore symbolized the fierce emotion he sees every time he looks into her eyes.
It was that second that he fell in love with her, pulling her in for a kiss because it was the only way he knew how to show her just what he was feeling. It was something he couldn’t put into words. It was something that only her painting could encapsulate. It was wonderful and perfect and them and—
It was art.
“That’s beautiful,” Percy tells her now, watching as she paints before his eyes. It’s an image of the two of them, and one that he recognizes all too well. It’s the picture he knows is sitting in his wallet right this second.
The canvas is filled with whites and grays and blacks and everything in between as the two of them are standing beneath the rain on the beach, tangled in each other’s arms. Their hair is soaked, and rain is pouring around them hard, but they’re standing amidst it all, lips locked, to prolong the moment.
“Do you remember that day?” she asks. “I couldn’t possibly forget.”
“I miss it,” she says. “I know it started raining, and we couldn’t really do much, but it was just…”
It was perfect.
Percy kisses her forehead. “I know.”
He isn’t sure how long he stands there with her, watching her finish the painting in silence, but he doesn’t care. He is intrigued by the way she perfectly portrays the emotion behind it. All he can think about is how amazing it is, watching a scene unravel before his eyes.
Percy will always have a love for math. It’s what makes him comfortable. Numbers and equations do not fail so long as you know what to do. A part of him will always prefer the mathematics behind life.
The other part of him finds he needs the beautiful creation that comes with not knowing.
Annabeth is his polar opposite and his other half.
She is the art to his science. She taught him what it means to really sit back and let life create something beautiful. And he supposes it really did create something amazing. It brought her into his life, let them grow a love so strong no math can ever begin to explain it.
Percy used to think that letting go of control was the end of everything. He’s just now learning that it was truly the beginning.

Heard someone was on a Jacabeth Binge, thought I'd contribute 👀 @perseusjackson-jasongrace
When Jason first laid his eyes on Annabeth, he knew than and there that she hated him. She didn't say it and she never did, it was all in her eyes, a cold grey that pierced his soul.
He stayed quiet of course, he had no idea where he was and was desperately just trying to remember english (no don't bite the pony man... Pony man is nice) and keep his instincts under control. Its almost as if he did it without realising it, focusing all his energy to be a human.
Perfection.
And it drove Annabeth insane. She criticised him, everything he did pissed her off. Jason was polite, he was quiet and knew how to plan attacks well (for a non Athena child it was... Impressive) and that was the issue. He wasn't Percy, he didn't have a smirk that caused trouble where ever he went (but a soft smile that gave away nothing.) Jason wasn't oblivious, well he was but not in the same way. Jason watched everything with an intelligent eye.
And he never rose to her insults, staying formal and polite even when she was pretty much screaming at him. Well that was until Annabeth yelled and insulted Rachel, that was when Jason stepped in. "Shut up, oh my gods you can't just say things like that to people!" Annabeth had paused, eyes wide in surprise. No one had ever challenged her like that, not even Percy. "Excuse me?!" She retorted, ready to put her foot down but Jason wasn't having it.
He was fierce, already standing in between her and Rachel with a look that radiated power. She'd seen that look in Percy but like everything between them it was different. It was the look of a King. "No, you apologise to Rachel. She's been doing her best to help and you throwing a fit isn't helping anyone. Apologise." Annabeth couldn't believe her ears, her whole face red in embarrassment and anger.
How dare he... But... She looked at Rachel and begrudgingly she knew she was in the wrong. But her pride was too strong "doing her best?! Well Percy isn't here yet is he?" She outright growled... Maybe it was than she realised he was doing it too... Though his sounded much more animalistic.
"Oh my Gods... Get over yourself, everyone here misses Percy. Everyone wants him home and is doing everything they can to bring him back. Though if he's coming back to someone like you, I wouldn't blame him for stating away." He spat, turning his heel and walking off. Leaving her in her own rage... But it eventually died down as all things do.
She apologised to Rachel, and in the evening set off to find Jason. Said boy was curled up by a tree away from the main camp. It really highlighted that he was an outsider, somehow that made her feel worse. "Look... I'm sorry" said Annabeth, surprising herself and him. "It's alright, I just hate seeing people fight like that... I'm sorry too."
She smirked "you should be" she said, sitting beside him. "You'll get him back... I'm starting to remember bits and pieces, I'm sure he will too. Once he remembers this place he'll come running." Said Jason, a sad smile on his face. "You think?" Annabeth didn't know why she wanted his reassurance, she knew Percy. "Of course, people here adore him. They love him, there doing so much to bring him back, if I had that I'd..." He trailed off
Annabeth frowned, she'd never really considered that Jason was a person... As in he had his own life to return to. "With the Romans?" She asked, the word came out more like an insult but if he noticed he didn't say. "Yeah, but they won't be looking for me. Maybe a few, not than I can remember exactly who."
Annabeth raised an eyebrow "That's awful! Is that what they do for their comrades... Just leave them to die???" Jason smiled, it wasn't one of humour "nah I'm just the exception" Annabeth wanted to pry, because why would anyone do that to Jason... He was the son of the King of God's himself, he was annoying but he was smart and tactful... He was a good person.
And she was ashamed she never noticed till now.
"They might put up a search, otherwise they'll anger my Father but other than that... They'll hold a funeral and business continues as normal. They wanted another figure head, not someone like me.... At least that's all I can recall." He said, getting up to leave.
"Wait..."
"Hm?"
"Do you...can you go over this plan with me? We have capture the flag tomorrow and I really want to embarrass Clarisse"
Jason blinked, and smiled. It was different to the rest he gave, it lit up his whole face and made him shine under the moon. "I'd love too" and maybe later Annabeth saw a different Jason. One who laughed, was fierce and argued over srratergies with her until they passed out at 4am.
Whatever it was, they were a team now.

10 Different Characters, From 10 DifferentFandoms, And Tagging 10 Different People
I was tagged by the ever lovely soul  HMS-Chill and this is so hard but like I think I got a good list? So in no particular order….
Eliza Schuyler Hamilton (Hamilton) » Like idk if we’re suppose to explain, so I’ll keep it short. She is the brightest fucking star of them all, and she is so brilliant and so beautiful and so wonderful!! And I cry every time I think about her because she went through so much hurt and heartbreak but she is an angel and she always got what she set her mind on and truly if you just looked at my tag for her you will understand fjoiaejfoiaer 2. Annabeth Chase (PJO Saga) »  Honestly part of my pan awakening, i’ve been in love with her since I was an 11 year old kid LMFAO. She was so tough and her back story with her dad was so heartbreaking and she tries so hard and she loves so much even if she doesn’t show it and she loves other girls and JFC the fact she was the only one of the seven without ~magical~ powers just makes me love her all the more!!!! 3. Adam Parrish (TRC) » It would not be an over exaggeration to say that I would die a thousand painful deaths merely to know that he is happy…. I love him with my entire heart and soul and he deserves every ounce of goodness that this damn crappy world can offer! His story arc in TRC was so heart wrenchingly beautiful and him in the Dreamer trilogy is just, I can’t breathe I love him so much!!! 4. Katara (ATLA) » It’s frankly embarrassing to think about the massive crush I had on her without realizing how gay I was for her fjioajrfioajer She was beautiful and she manipulated my favorite element and she was a fucking loud feminist and she is in touch with her heritage in the tribe and she is my sunflower baby!! 5 Baz Pitch (Carry On Trilogy) » Okay just straight up, I would’ve loved him despite it all, but when Rainbow dropped in the fact he was half Arab, and I got— Representation???? Me????? Holy fuck!!! And she even brought up how his Ma was too dark for other British Wizards to trust her and just, wow I felt seen! Okay but back to my tragic baby! He is snarky and he is brilliant and he has impeccable taste— even if the love of his life is a God damn mess mjfoiaejfoierkdl And God the storyline brought up in Wayward Son, connecting with his vampire identity! I just know that’s finna fuck me up in the last book so just he is my child that I must protect and hide at all costs!!! 6. Amy March (Little Women) » Listen, she is the love of all my days and she is so fucking remarkable! I know I’ve said this about everyone— surprise surprise I’ve got a type— but she is so beautiful and so brilliant and so fucking amazing!! I’m so thankful for 2019 for giving us Florance Pugh who really just breathed her to life in such vivid and remarkable ways and that speech she gives Teddy in the art studio just forever will give me chills! I’ve always said this, I definitely embody Joe, but I am so smitten with Amy, with her shrewdness and her wit and her sense of duty. She was this lovely frivolous girl, which is good and perfect already, but then she grows up into a lady who still loves all the indulgences of life, and is well aware to her status, she wants to marry well because she wants to help her family but she’s always known she would. And she gets what she wants by working within the system, and I think that’s so fucking bad ass! But then she also gets to end up with her first love! Just JFC I’m far to emo about her fjoiarjfoa 7. Chidi Anagonye (The Good Place) » It was so fucking hard choosing between him and Eleanor, because I identified so hard with the latter— especially with some things with her parents— but Chidi is my pure angel child who I must protect at all costs! He was always the sane and truly good one and he was so neurotic and so kind and so smart and JFC him shirtless jfoiaejfuoehrugi Just love this little bean! 8. Prince Henry (RWRB) » He’s this precious and angelic academic, like how could I not be in love??? Seriously, henry just breaks my heart into a thousand little pieces and he’s so endearing and good and he has so much love to give but he also has this sadness that’s just so tragic and so interesting to look into and he deserves so much warmth and love and he got that! Him and Alex you guys JFC talk about making me weak! Okay look I just love him and I will always protect him!! 9. Amy Santiago (Brooklyn Nine Nine) » She’s my top tear sergeant princess!! She’s so funny and neurotic and strong and fearless and compassionate and good! And she can be feminine while being a bad ass and so fierce! And she’s so beautiful!! And I just adore her to bits!! 10. Alec Lightwood (Shadowhunter Chronicles) » Okay you guys know how there are some characters you just latch onto? Like he’s not always great *Cough cough original trilogy** but like he is my child okay! Every time I read about him, or he’s alluded to, or just thinking about him I just smile. That little soliloquy he gives Izzy, I think in City of fFallen Angels? Like when he’s describing the paper cuts, God I still get chills, i related so fucking hard. And he was so afraid in the first couple books but he’s learned to love himself and be open and be proud, and seeing where he is today, with his job title and his family and just all of that— JFC I’m getting chills thinking about it. I just love him so much!!!! 11. Natasha Rostova (The Great Comet) » Okay okay Linda I know! I’m cheating! It’s suppose to be ten!!! But you haven’t taken account, I DON”T CARE!!! I had to include my baby my girl my star child! She was just here to hav a good time okay!! She knows that she’s beautiful and she was horny and it’s such a simple story, but it’s so sad and tragic, like her last song with Pierre makes me cry every fucking time, when he describes her limp arms at her side and you think about he described her as the life of the party when she was younger and society didn’t get it’s clutches on her yet! That just broke me. I think so many girls can relate to this story of being “a ruined woman” and it’s disgusting that our society still has these acts, and just I love this girl so much, and I want to protect her from all of it! And god of course Denee’s heavenly voice and gorgeous face just endeared me to her even more fjoierjfoiaerjf!
Remus J Lupin  »  Plane and simple, he is the greatest love of my life and that’s just simply on facts and the Marauders era is the reason why I even love Harry Potter as much as I do. JFC he is so fucking wonderful.
Okay wow I went on for SOOOOO LONG!! JFC I need to learn how to shut up jfoairejfdjsoijw
But okay ready to tag some wonderful peeps!!!
•Adverbialstarlight   •Tinyarmedtrex  •Pastelle-Pvn  •Maraudereasmut   •Kirito-potter  •Celiabowne  •omgcmere  •TedddyLupin  •Saywhatjessie  •Oldkingyounggod

Voltron AU
Solangelo Week 2k19: Day 4 – “AU / Crossover” @solangeloweek
A/N: If you didn’t know, I’m a HUGE Voltron fan (it’s not perfect but it’s good okay). BUT this AU says nothing about my Voltron opinions/ships. I tried matching characters by personality, skills, looks, etc. I’m gonna lay out my headcanons and whatnot for today, then later will write it up (perhaps several pieces if it’s well-received/I get too into it lol).
Nico is obviously the Red Paladin/Keith. Literally, one of the biggest reasons I started the show is that when Keith came on screen I FREAKED OUT because IT WAS NICO DI ANGELO ANIMATED. They’re different, of course, but there’s just so many similarities that I can’t help it. Nico and Keith are impulsive fighters, very angry, feel a lot but don’t show emotions much, skilled swordsmen, broody, have had shitty lives, lost family, found new family, AND they look veerrryyy similar. I just love my emo badass boys.
Jason is the Black Paladin/Shiro. He’s the leadership type, but not super-commander like Reyna. He’s still young, but he’s mature and is skilled with battle tactics and such. Good fighter, has an added power thing (Shiro’s arm is not normal, just like Jason’s lightning/flying abilities).
Frank is the Yellow Paladin/Hunk. This was largely based on build/stature. But, there’s also their sweet personality. Both boys can be pretty fierce in battle as well.
Annabeth is the Green Paladin/Pidge. Of course, this is based on being the brain of the group. Annabeth is the smartest character, very analytical and all that. She does have added battle strategy that Pidge doesn’t have, but demigods also don’t interact with technology enough for her to be a hacker in the PJO-verse. She could probably pick it up, I mean she is the only one who had/frequently used a computer.
Percy is the Blue Paladin/Lance. Several reasons: blue (duh), suave (even if it’s a bit of an act, there’s a certain amount of smoothness that comes naturally), talker (idk if Percy talks a lot but he does have that sassy mouth), good fighter (aren’t they all), loves home (Percy just wants to be happy with his mom dammit), loves the ocean (DUH), jokes around always (appropriate or not). Yeah all that.
Piper is the Altean Princess/Allura. She can be regal/formal when she needs to be. But, of course, she’s young and acts her age when she can. Charm speak is basically Allura in any diplomatic thing, smoothing things over, convincing the paladins of something, heading the coalition, all that. Also, they’re both beautiful and strong women.
Leo is the Royal Advisor/Coran. This makes me laugh just thinking about it lol. They’re both silly, loud, long-winded, but also smart, serious when need be, handymen, and love the things they build/maintain (Festus and the Castle of Lions).
Will is a Blade of Marmora Medic. As much as I want him to be a paladin, he just didn’t fit. I wanted to make him the Yellow Paladin, and some elements could work, but ultimately, I love him as a healer and as a “side character.” He’s got a side role, but an important one for the Blade, who are important in the war. It allows him to still heal and have that insecurity of not being a fighter in this AU.
Hazel is a Blade of Marmora Agent. I needed to put her somewhere, but now I think more about it, it works GREAT. This works with Nico/Keith being part Galra and joining the Blade at one point to discover his family, which here would be Hazel. Hazel is a good fighter and, if she’s half human or some other alien race, then she can have added abilities (like Lotor’s generals). That would make Nico and Hazel half siblings on the Galra side, just like PJO/HOO on the godly side.
Reyna is a Blade of Marmora Commander (like Kolivan). She’s strong, an amazing fighter, experienced leader, knows battle tactics, makes tough choices, and is instrumental in the war. She also doesn’t show much emotion and focuses on the mission.
(I originally had the BoM people as Rebels, but BoM is so much better)
So, when Nico goes to the Blade, he finds his sister, meets Reyna, and falls for Will. Also, Reyna and Hazel know Will and could tease him haha. Piper and Leo being the Altean duo is kind of funny and perfect, them being best friends and all. Honestly, the paladins are all a little randomly put together and it’d be really interesting to see the five of them kick off the whole journey (a lot would be exploring Frank’s character, who really didn’t get enough, which is why it was hard to place him).
I actually love how this AU sounds. Idk really how I’d write this, because that’s a LOT and I want to do it justice, but also big AUs like this aren’t my strong suit. But with all the characters established, I could probably figure out a Solangelo piece just starting in medias res and maybe build around it MAYBE.
Anyways, thanks for reading! Let me know what you think!

The Mortal Instruments Fancast Part 2: The (young) Circle
Valentine Morgenstern (Lucky Blue Smith)
Tumblr media
Strictly based on looks, Lucky B is young Valentine. Tbh he’s my Sebastian too. He’s everything I associate w the Morgenstern boys. That hair. That look. He’s gorgeous but deadly.
Jocelyn Fairchild (Karen Gillan)
Tumblr media
I will always use Karen as a fancast whenever I can because I just love her so much. She’s beautiful, strong, smart, and young Jocelyn had all of that (I know older Jocelyn does too). Just look at that face. That “I’m going to take down my husband and take the Mortal Cup with me” look. She’s a badass.
Lucian Graymark (Logan Lerman)
Tumblr media
THOSE EYES. THAT HAIR. Logan is young Luke. He’s cute and sweet and honestly the best friend that everyone deserves. Need I say more?
Hodge Starkweather (Thomas Brodie Sangster)
Tumblr media
I think what a lot of people forget is that hodge was the youngest member of the circle (yes City of Bones movie I am talking ab you). Thomas has that boyish look to him. He has that cute “I want to make you proud of me” “I want to fit in” persona. Hodge is young and vulnerable and just trying to figure everything out and I feel that Thomas could portray that well.
Robert Lightwood (Tyler Hoechlin)
Tumblr media
Looks like he could kill you, could actually kill you. From everything we read ab Robert, we know two things. 1) he was intimidating (he went on to become the inquisitor for the Angel’s sake!). 2) he’s a Lightwood, which means he is gorgeous lol. And who better to fit that role than Tyler. (I mean have y’all seen him as Derek Hale in teen wolf?!)
Maryse Trueblood (Marie Avgeropoulos)
Tumblr media
We know from her role as Octavia on the 100 that Marie is fierce. She knows how to play that strong female character that I associate w young Maryse (well that I associate w Maryse in general).
Michael Wayland (Sam Claflin)
Tumblr media
Sam is just so pure. He has a sort of innocence about him. He also literally looks like an angel. And I picture Michael that way. If he were given the chance, I believe that Sam could really pull off this character.
Stephen Herondale (Xaviar Samuel)
Tumblr media
I’ve seen Xaviar fancasted as Gabriel Lightwood many times before but honestly I see him as a Herondale. More specifically I see him as Stephen. Stephen was the golden boy. He was loved by everyone but we also know from Tessa in the Bane Chronicles that he had a dark side. And I could just see all that when I look at Xaviar. He could pull it off.
Amatis Graymark (Alexandra Daddario)
Tumblr media
It drove me crazy when Alexandra was casted as Annabeth Chase in the Percy Jackson movie because her and Logan looked so much alike! I always thought she could play his sister. Same blue eyes, same dark hair. She is the Amatis to Logan’s Luke.
Celine Montclaire (Scarlett Leithold)
Tumblr media
Strictly based on looks, Scarlett is Celine. Whenever I first came across a picture of her I immediately thought of Celine. And I will always stick by that.

I got tagged by @judedeluca
RULES: Write your ten favorite female characters from ten different fandoms and tag ten different people.
Aru Shah (Pandava Quartet) - This list is just going in the order they occur to me, and Aru Shah and the End of Time is still pretty fresh in my mind so let’s start with Aru!  It was between Aru and Mini, but in the end I chose Aru for her quick thinking, determination, and sass.  I also loved her arc with her relationship with her mother and her desire to fit in.
Princess Koriand’r (DC Comics) - Kory is the strong, passionate, heroic princess of my heart and one half of my all time DC OTP.  She probably would’ve been first in my mind if I hadn’t just read Aru’s book recently.
Meiling Li (Cardcaptor Sakura) - It was hard to pick one favorite because the three core girls are all great, but I’m really feeling the Meiling love lately.  I love her moxie.  This is the girl with no magic, the black sheep of the Li clan, and she marches right into danger alongside her cousin.  She stares down magical phenomena and punches them with her bare fists.
Kamala Khan (Marvel Comics) - I really need to catch up on Ms Marvel, but I love Kamala’s dedication to doing good, her resourcefulness, and her enthusiasm.
Jane Foster (MCU) - Unfortunately, between being written out with a single line in Ragnarok and her comics counterpart probably dying, Jane’s probably going to go from underappreciated to unappreciated, which is a shame because she’s great!  She’s brilliant, driven, and incredibly relatable.
Kimberly Hart (Power Rangers) - Kimberly was my favorite way back when I was a kid, and reading the new Boom! Studios comics has really brought that love back.  And I really feel for her family situation now in a way I didn’t as a kid.  Also, gotta love a girl who appreciates the boxing glove arrow.
Piper Halliwell (Charmed) - I’ve started poking at the earlier half of Charmed recently, and while some of it doesn’t quite hold up, I do still genuinely love Piper.  Between her sense of humor and her altruistic instincts, Piper’s pretty great.  And she and Leo surprised me by still being OTP tier.
Annabeth Chase (PJO/HOO) - This series has a lot of great girls, so it was another hard choice, but Annabeth had the strongest roots in my heart, since she’s been around since the Lightning Thief.  I love how smart and fierce Annabeth is.
Sadie Kane (Kane Chronicles) - Piggybacking off of Annabeth, reading the Staff of Serapis short story where she teams up with Sadie was what convinced me to buy and read the Kane Chronicles.  Because Sadie is just that much fun.
Usagi Tsukino (Sailor Moon) - Usagi’s another one I loved as a kid and then rediscovered later on.  She’s brave despite her fears and endlessly compassionate, but I also really feel her procrastination habit.
Tagging: @phantomroxas, @luanna801, @bfrench91, @captwolfkick, @nightofthelark, @kezzup, @sailorshadow, @rinasoir, @zucchinipuffs, @samilinthewarlock

Favorite Strong Female Characters | 100 Days of Booklr Day 4
For today’s post for 100 Days of Booklr I thought that I would talk about one of my favorite things in books: strong female characters. I love that now women in books are can show strength and can kick as much butt or more as the guys. Hell to the yeah!  It’s great and I love seeing that in books, so I thought I would give you a list of my top favorite strong female characters! Hopefully this list can give you suggestions of books to check out if you are looking for really awesome women in books! Also this list is in no particular order. Anyways here we go!
Vin from the Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson: So I just finished the first book in the Mistborn trilogy, The Final Empire, a week ago and pretty much instantly I loved Vin’s character. Throughout the story we saw her go from this girl who was always on edge to mastering her mistborn powers and becoming one of the most powerful people in the empire. She could hold her own in a fight, even when she was just beginning to learn how to use her powers but she also enjoyed fancy dresses and doing “girly” things too. Vin is such an interesting and complex character and I can’t wait to read more about her in the other Mistborn books.
Hermione Granger (Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling): What list about strong female characters would be complete without Hermione??? None, that’s the answer. So of course I had to put her on this list. As a kid growing up and reading the Harry Potter books I loved seeing a girl who was a little nerdy and into books. She was always the voice of reason in the Harry Potter series and she could also hold her own in a fight. She was so important to the series and I don’t think I would have enjoyed the series so much if she wasn’t in it. Hermione will probably go down as one of my favorite characters of all time.
Piper McLean (The Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan): I probably could have gone the easy route like I did with Hermione for the Percy Jackson books and put Annabeth Chase (who is an amazing strong female character, don’t get me wrong I love Annabeth) but I wanted to put Piper instead. I feel like Piper doesn’t get as much love as she should because she is an amazing character. Piper is smart and has saved the rest of the gang a few times through her many skills. I also like seeing a daughter of Aphrodite not shying away from the fight, which is what everyone in all the Percy Jackson books thinks about the Aphrodite cabin. Piper is great and I wish she were as loved as Annabeth.
Feyre (A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas): I love Feyre as a character. From the beginning of the series she is the one who takes care of her family so they don’t starve and she doesn’t back down from a challenge, like trying to save an entire community of people through insanely difficult tasks. In the second book she also works to practice her fighting techniques and powers so she never feels vulnerable. She’s such a great female character to read about, not because of her fighting skills, but also because she also has soft and vulnerable moments, making her so much more relatable and human.
Inej Ghafa (Six of Crows Duology by Leigh Bardugo): I LOVE Inej. She might be my favorite out of this whole list if I’m being honest. Inej is an amazing spy with almost superhuman skills of sneaking around unnoticed, causing her to be the best spy in Ketterdam. She’s so smart and is a great friend to everyone in Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom. And she has this dark and troubled past that she is working to overcome. And all she wants to do is hunt down slavers and find her family again!! She’s so pure and I love her. Not to mention her romance with Kaz Brekker might be the best romance I’ve ever read about in any YA book, and its not even a huge focus of the series like some other YA books.
Safiya fon Hastrel and Iseult det Midenzi (Witchland series by Susan Dennard): You honestly could not pay me to choose between Safi and Iseult, I wouldn’t do it. Nope. Not gonna happen. Especially since these two ladies complement each other so well in life and when they are in battle, like they are a continuation of one another. But they are both great and individual characters at the same time. Safi and Iseult also have the best friendship I have read in a book so far. It’s so difficult to find books where the women actually love and support each other and even put the others needs in front of theirs. It’s such a great friendship to look up to and is a refreshing read.
Starr Carter (The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas): So Starr is the only contemporary character I put on this list, but she well deserves this spot. Starr witnessed her childhood best friend being murdered by the police, which would be one of the first things to witness. And throughout The Hate U Give we see her go from someone who is scared to talk about what she witnessed to becoming an activist and realizing she can’t stay silent anymore. Her journey was so moving, emotional, and eye opening. It’s a story that should be talked about more and I was so happy that I got to see Starr’s story.
Celaena Saradothian (Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas): Celaena from Throne of Glass is such an interesting and complex character. She’s the best assassin in the world of Throne of Glass, so you know she can defend herself extremely well. Throughout the series you can also see that she is this great planner, and the plans and schemes that she comes up with are seriously mind blowing. You think everything is going to hell and then you realize that it was the plan all along and its truly mind blowing. But on top of being this great fighter, Celaena loves dressing up in fancy clothes and looking amazing, showing that you can be kickass and love fashion and “girly” things too.
Kelsea Glynn (Queen of the Tearling series by Erika Johansen): I have yet to finish the Queen of the Tearling series, but Kelsea’s transformation has to be one of the most interesting I have read. In the beginning of the book Kelsea is super self conscious and has very little confidence, but at the end of the book there is no doubt that she has grown into her role as a queen. I can’t wait to read more of the series and see how much more she grows as a character and see how the series goes on because I don’t know how it can top how amazing the first book was.
So those are my favorite strong female characters! I know there are so many more I could include on this list and this is in no way meant to be a complete list. I can’t wait to read more books with amazingly fierce women in them and feel free to suggest books for me to read! I’m always open to more books!
