does anyone have like an anti aesthetic. like something you look at and can recognize as a complete fashion/interior design/artistic movement and understand it but it makes you shudder seeing it. i am not talking like “its morally bad” “its poorly structured” like just sheerly devoid of joy for you actually invites a repulse response.
#also if it wasnt clear this isnt ‘its bad its lazy’ there is a level of like#completion consistancy i am thinking for with this#personally i really do not enjoy the like. vintage chic long red nails fur coats noir esque aesthetic HOWEVER 💥💥💥#i can recognize that it is put together it is Intentional#i feel like a lot of people are going to say minimalism on this so LET ME SAY 🫰☝️ i recognize that minimalism is Considered an aesthetic#but i *PERSONALLY* do not consider it an aesthetic i consider it the void of one#it is a lapse in aesthetic or personality in the same way a silence in a song is still technically a ‘beat’ but no music is played#however the importance of Space or Breath in design is more akin to a purposeful silence in music#because that silence matters in the same way rhythm and breath in design do#so i guess minimalism is more comparable to like. white noise. the sound of a fan#very little effort and there is a comfort in it i suppose but its not. My bro’s talking to me about what i was like when i was high on LMK and it’s insane that i knew something had changed sound-wise thirty seconds into ep1 of s5 and found out AFTER that the sound mixing studio or whatever had changed. who notices stuff like that man???? I was absolutely deranged

So I’m pretty late to this but earlier this month (Jan 4) was the year anniversary of when I first made the human design for Haniel! This character (specifically this version of them) means a lot to me though so I wanted to do a little birthday comic for them, and since the day they turned human is what they consider their birthday in canon I wanted to celebrate it!

Outer Wilds
#asks answered#i have a lot more games id recommend but for the bit Outer Wilds is the only one there the rest will be in the tags#Everhood is a real fun pseudo rhythm game with difficulty options that make it approachable for all player#plus it has a sequel coming out soon so yippee#Hylics and Hylics 2 are great abstract RPGs with lore and stuff to dig into that if you're experienced with JRPGs at all aren't too rough#Who's Lila was a real interesting little story that delves into the nature of what a game can really be#Shovel Knight is also just one of my favorite games of all time too#fun little platformer with a bunch of DLC and lots of options for a player to really engage with plus the story is fun#Inscryption is also great if you like card games lots of lore and things to pick up tho the community can be a bit...toxic at times

So, it looks like someone beat me to getting all the songs remade in Heaven Studio XP, but I still think it's cool to see someone else's take on it~ (The thumbnail art goes so hard~)
And with Heaven Studio sniped off the web, and thus probably putting a halt on updates for the foreseeable future, I probably won't be finishing my mixes anytime soon since they depended on games that weren't implemented yet.
So, if I ever want to finish my own project, I'm probably gonna have to suck it up and swap out more of the games.
*sigh* Vs. 1010 just isn't gonna be the same without Freeze Frame...

#sometimes but not always but sometimes all it takes to get rid of shame is realizing why you're feeling it#specifically i've realized in the last few weeks that part of what felt so bad about the whole nights away from home thing is the shame!#of feeling like i am cast out and unwanted from my home! this was the more basic feeling than the joy of having so many people welcome me#but just recognizing that as a real feeling has let me go well ok nothing to be done about that! and let go of it#(there's still the shame and fear and awkwardness real and unreal#but i'm feeling overall a lot more content and in a good rhythm#and my sleep at home lately has been at least as bad as it is away so there's one objection removed)

not sure when or why i gained this hc, it's just kind of been a constant in how i draw him for as long as i can remember

"rock n roll will take you to the mountain" is my favorite song, i used to play this game at my cousin's house, so at home i would watch rock n' roll on youtube and follow along in my bedroom
#quail art#maiceo and esperanza are probably the worst people to be playing this game but they do have fun (dont look at maiceo they're having fun)#maiceo never exercises so the arm lifts are enough to get them breathing heavy (being a parent needs to fix this. its pathetic.)#and esperanza has a lot of chronic pain especially in her torso but she would rather deal with the pain than simply not play Just Dance 4#she can do one round before she needs to sit out and giggle at her friend's moves#the best players are the other three. for sure.#ruse actually dances (i mean its club dancing so not professionally) but she's got rhythm and can keep up#lwaukee has really good reflexes so he's good at a dance even if he's unfamiliar with it - he can keep his eyes on the bottom of the screen#and georgiana has the longest stamina and could play for hours without issue while maiceo wheezes like a small dog allergic to air

Little update for anyone counting: VtM doctor superion AU is still in rewriting phase. I'm at page 32 of 106 and it is the equivalent to page 52 (of X) in the new version.
#that's twenty additional pages. i have no idea of how long this is going to get lol#perhaps it goes up to 150 pages instead of the original 106. i don't know. don't expect it.#if i keep the rhythm i should be done rewriting by the middle of november but then i'll have another editing round before typing#and i won't start posting until i have more than 50% of it typed. so. i'm estimating a 2025 launch#i did say this would be the most self-indulgent fic i ever wrote lol. it really is.#but meanwhile i'm still doing drabbles and the occasional challenge so it's not all radio silence from me#i REALLY wanted to get some meta in as there are a whole lot of topics i'd like to analyse in wn still#but the mindset for fiction and non-fiction is so different... sigh.#maybe while the sweetest chill is being posted. it should buy me some seven months with a weekly update lol#of course i intend to get back to the teenagers au while that's happening but between one thing and the other...#ANYWAY. enough babbling. this is just so you know i'm busy#silly blabbering
