#fuck i think i actually cooked today #i can say i enjoy coloring this time it's insane #also how the actual fuck did i do that in a morning #it only took like 3 hours from completely blank canvas to finish wtf #peak efficiency #i regret not making a timelapse of this i always forgot to turn that on #actually i didn't plan to do full render when i do the sketch. but i picked the pen for lineart that literally calls for full render #i think mixing some blue in the shadow really make things look better #its like free art quality upgrade #btw the shadow color i use makes me think of the color of iroshizuku fuyu-syogun #which is my favorite color out of all iroshizuku ink #i would be actually surprised if anyone knows what im talking about #warframe #warframe excalibur #warframe operator #my art

#poasting bc i really like how the style came out!!#i did the lineart in krita and then my usual precise coloring and cell shading in sai #i know nobody can probably tell the difference lmao #but i feel like it's quite a good style for full illustrations #basically krita has more pressure sensitivity #so there's more variance in line thickness #and the ink brush is assymetrical so that also gives the lines some dynamism #and it's very sharp edged. to an extent i dont think is possible in sai #i like sai when i want the art to look soft #ok sorry just wanted to share:^)#bg3 #bg3 tav #art #baldurs gate 3

There's this kind of hybrid artstyle in comics lately that I wanna learn how to do (i just wanna stare at them coz its too pretty). Would it be an insult to call it hybrid? Hybrid in a way that its more anime-ish/cartoon-ish...but still very much in comic artstyle. It's very stylized too, and it's more softer and expressive on the face, and I love it.

I don't know if its a real thing, or I'm just seeing things in my fave artists in comics

I dunno if you've answered this before, but do you draw digitally or traditionally? I'm pretty sure you've posted traditional art but I'm just so in love with your pencil strokes regardless I'm amazed either way

Oh no it's all good! I don't think I've been asked that directly before. But that said, I primarily draw traditionally. The only times I draw digitally is when I make those thick-lined chibi arts or the ones that are obviously done in MS paint. Otherwise, everything is traditionally drawn and any coloring is done digitally.

This may also be a good time to clarify that I use a ballpoint pen and not a pencil-- apparently a lot of folks here have also tagged my stuff thinking my works are in the latter medium. I hope this way I am able to help with any confusion!

#and I'm not mad at all by the mix-up but I just never know how to go about correcting them because I worry I'd come up off ;;#or all “uhm ack-chually~~” 'cause I don't like being like that :[#my lineart is typically very light until I move onto inking (or darkening the main lines to then be scanned/colored)#again I'm sorry for any confusion but I always appreciate your time and your thoughts! ^^#Asks #Ask Mew #nyxokal
