i'm always really interested in how the characters call each other in japanese games, so i laid out a few differences between the japanese and english versions of some ace attorney games that particularly interest me. this isn't meant to be an exhaustive list but it did get really long 😭

i highlighted english nicknames/etc in blue while japanese nicknames/etc are orange just to make reading a little easier

AA1-2

while only playing the english version i liked that maya called phoenix nick, it's a nickname that makes sense and phoenix is annoying to say and write anyway (lol) but the reason maya gives for this nickname in english is that it's what larry uses for him, which pales in comparison to maya in the japanese version opting for how mia used to call him: naruhodo-kun.

to me, this is a LOT more meaningful and informative than the english nickname because it not only is evidence of how much maya heard about phoenix from mia using that nickname, it also gives us a glimpse of maya's personality and her relationship with phoenix. -kun is an honorific that's usually used for either male classmates or for teachers/superiors to use with their students/subordinates. maya falls into neither of these categories with phoenix, but it also lines up with how she acts like the boss of the office a lot of the time. SO LIKE... ultimately the nickname nick just does not hold up in terms of both maya's reasoning for using it, and phoenix's apprehension at her calling him that... which i just think is a shame!! in the same vein, this nickname is passed down to pearl, and again you see phoenix having a Reaction to it which makes sense considering it's funny that a kid is calling him naruhodo-kun...

i don't only want to talk about changes in english that i don't prefer, so i also want to mention that i'm very impressed that they managed to get phoenix and edgeworth referring to each other by their surnames in english to sound natural... because it's also exactly what they do in japanese except there, the idea of male friends using their surnames with each other is a very very normal thing. i AM torn on the fact that in japanese larry also refers to the two of them by their surnames, which means all 3 of them are on equal grounds in that respect. AT THE SAME TIME... english makes larry's "nick" and "edgey" work so well that i really can't say we missed out with this localization, but i do like the relationship between these 3 so i do like that the japanese is indicative of it too :)

AA4

i'm skipping ahead to aa4 because trucy's also a very interesting localization to me... the first time i played aa4 i felt like trucy wasn't sufficiently differentiated enough from maya's character which is like. debatable but those were my initial thoughts anyway. in japanese though she uses third-person pronouns (calling herself by her own name, minuki) which is VERY distinct from maya. there are a number of ways to interpret this choice but i like the one that indicates that it's part of her stage persona. aside from that though, she also has a very normal nickname for apollo (odoroki-san, with -san indicating general politeness) while polly is um well canonically the name of a parrot LOL

i do find it pretty interesting that the above exchange is the first instance trucy uses the polly nickname, because it's entirely different in the japanese version. phoenix says "if this onii-chan over here can't help you..." to which trucy responds by saying "how could you, onii-chan!" this exchange is hilarious to me because phoenix referring to apollo as an onii-chan is pretty normal? it's common to refer to any young man as that and in this case he's also referring to apollo from trucy's perspective. but trucy DIRECTLY calling apollo onii-chan (brother) is just so funny because HERE it's a lot closer to how an actual younger sister would refer to her older brother; there's a difference between saying "this onii-chan" and just "onii-chan". now i'm not saying this was direct foreshadowing because onii-chan is also used between close friends/acquaintances but like... the possibility is there.

AA5

now onto simon because i don't actually have a problem with the localization making him a british weeaboo i think that's really funny but i DO wish the nicknames he uses for the defense attorneys were more... appropriate? the honorific -dono that he uses in english does complement his samurai look but it's usually used in contexts where there's some respect involved, which is... not simon's intention in japanese. i'm admittedly not too familiar with the nicknames he uses in japanese; he uses "[kanji] no ji", while using a kanji from phoenix/apollo/athena's surnames. by searching it in japanese, i'm finding answers that it was medieval slang used by men usually in red light districts and such, and was used to refer to those with equal or lower status to oneself but never to those of higher status. this is kinda the opposite of what -dono is which is used for those of equal or higher status!!

i also find it pretty amusing that despite him using the first kanji in phoenix's name; 成 (turn into, grow), he uses the second kanji in both apollo and athena's names; 泥 (mud) and 月 (moon) respectively. i can only imagine that he did this because the first kanji in their names; 王 (king) and 希 (rare, hope) respectively, were too positive/complimentary for him? LOL

AA6

now i want to to talk about apollo in aa6 because NNGNRHGH i'm not normal about this one. because like, similarly to what i said up there about phoenix, edgeworth and larry's relationship, it's completely normal for close male friends to use their surnames with each other. phoenix, being apollo's boss, refers to him as odoroki-kun (mirroring how mia and maya call phoenix). trucy uses odoroki-san, indicating general politeness and athena uses odoroki-senpai, because he's her senior in their workplace. clay uses odoroki (no honorific), which is the same "level" as phoenix/edgeworth/larry's relationship.

a male character never being referred to as their first name is pretty normal, which is also the case in the aa games. franziska calls edgeworth by his first name reiji which is SUPPOSED to stand out because it's notably impolite/informal for someone who is younger than him, which suits the idea of her thinking of herself as the elder sibling. for additional reference, phoenix is only referred to by his first name by dahlia/iris; ryuu-chan ("feenie" equivalent) and desiree; ryuuichi-kun ("nicky boy" equivalent). so apollo is referred to exclusively by his surname, because there isn't anyone who's associated with him who would feasibly use his first name.

THAT IS. UNTIL we meet datz who is the first (!!) character to use apollo's first name in japanese. this moment doesn't stand out in english because i KNOOWWW datz uses the AJ nickname which is very cute but he doesn't actually use that nickname the first time he indicates that he knows apollo in case 6-3!! phoenix's momentary confusion here is also explained because while he obviously knows apollo's full name, he's never heard anyone refer to him with it!!!

so phoenix's thoughts in japanese here were originally "housuke... wait, that bracelet! that's odoroki-kun!"

dhurke and later nahyuta (during the last moments of the 6-5 trial) also refer to apollo with his first name, which is... really nice!!! they're family!!!! i mourn the fact that this distinction isn't visible in english because most characters just call him apollo but it's special in japanese... it's only dhurke, nahyuta and datz who use his first name.... i'm normal i promise

funnily enough i sort of have the opposite issue with nahyuta, who is generally referred to as prosecutor sahdmadhi in english but nayuta-kenji (prosecutor) in japanese. i'm assuming this is because his name is written with his given name first unlike japanese names, so they just used his given name instead of his surname...? unfortunately we don't have an example of any other foreign prosecutor as reference (i'm excluding van zieks here because they DO use his surname but it's also an entirely different time and place) but i prefer the english here since it also makes it stand out when apollo, dhurke and datz (with yuty hehe) use his first name with him.

but then again... rayfa also refers to him as prosecutor sahdmadhi in english, but just calls him nayuta in japanese. there aren't a lot of characters rayfa refers to by name but generally she's either overly polite (with ga'ran and inga) or overly impolite (with phoenix and apollo). it makes sense that the way she calls nahyuta is a little unique, since he's of lower status than her but not enough to get a rude nickname fdjhja... and then of course at the end of the game she tries to call him onii-(chan? san? sama? we just don't know) which nahyuta interprets as oni (demon) i think the localization here is really impressive actually. they somehow managed to seamlessly fit braid head into the mix of barbed head and horn head (both nicknames that refer to their hairstyles) while braid also begins with the same letters as brother... anyway i think i slightly prefer that rayfa (and ga'ran) call nahyuta by his first name rather than by his prosecutor title, it's indicative of their higher status because of the lack of an honorific but by the end of the game it fits in with the idea of them all being family...

TGAA1-2

you would think that because tgaa opted to leave japanese honorifics in the dialogue that there wouldn't be any differences in how the characters refer to each other but there are... first of all kazuma and ryunosuke are once again male friends who refer to each other by their surnames without an honorific in japanese, but the english has them use their first names with each other instead. i can understand this change because characters using only their surnames with each other feels oddly distant in english, and while it worked for phoenix and edgeworth's relationship it definitely doesn't suit kazuma and ryunosuke's.

additionally, the way susato calls ryunosuke was also changed from naruhodo-sama to naruhodo-san. this is... also an interesting change since it requires the player to have some basic knowledge of japanese honorifics but for some reason decided to change it anyway, despite the fact that susato also uses -sama with kazuma... one thing to note is that susato does use kazuma's first name instead of his surname like she does with ryunosuke, which helps indicate their closer relationship despite her still showing respect with the -sama honorific. in that sense naruhodo-san feels like an interesting middle ground because she's still using his surname but doesn't seem to view his position with her as equal to kazuma's? i assume that was the intent of the localization, similarly to how the way kazuma and ryunosuke call each other was changed to indicate closeness to the english-speaking player

anyway while i do prefer the original japanese version most of the time, my general view of original vs localization is like wow! two cakes! i might prefer one of those cakes more, but the english version usually provides enough that i like that both canons exist. because of this i can't agree with the idea that all localization is bad nor the side that believes the original doesn't matter because you're engaging only with the english side of the fandom. both are good and can reveal interesting things about the characters, story and setting!!

Before you know it, you're not just sneaking glances. you're just full-on staring at him

And he knows. He lowkey finds it funny. Because with him, he doesn't try. He's not gonna try and get you flustered. It just happens and he's aware of it

He looks at you still playing, and he smiles at you. Just for a moment before looking back down at his guitar. And at that point, you're done.

You set down the gear boy without a word creeping towards him silently. He sees you but keeps trying to figure out the riff in the song just right

You creep up to his side, careful not to knock the neck of the guitar as you wrap your arms around his neck lazily.

"It sounds really good, baby. I think you almost got it." You compliment resting your chin on his shoulder

"Thanks, I think I've got it down pretty good. I just gotta get better with the timing. I'm holding the notes too long." He says before leaning forward to set the instrument against the dresser.

In a couple seconds, you find yourself weasling your way into his lap.

He holds you gently but firmly in place with one hand on your hip and the other on the back of your head tangled sweetly in your hair.

AKA how many Nicole Dollanganger references can I make in a single fanfiction. The answer is a lot.

A/N: The first one I've actually titled, lol. Makes some mild references to my other fic, "Death Lingering", up on AO3. Not needed to read this, but explains some stuff.

======== Hell has a name – Chapel Hill.

An arid wasteland of unheard prayers and belt-buckle lashings, it sits in the center of Nockfell surrounded by an ancient and decrepit stone wall, commanding a legacy of fear and reverence. The other side of the wall is unknown to me, but I was always good at pressing my ear against it and listening to the sounds of the adjacent unbound people.

Still, after all these years, I can’t tell if I’m locked inside or out.

I peer through cracks and holes in the carved out rock, just big enough to stick my fingers through. I can’t exactly tell what’s on the other side, but I’m scared of it. It’s full of a terrifying life that I know I can’t live myself, so I sit back from my side of the wall and I watch what pieces I can catch through the holes.

You are the way you waste, and I waste away by watching you.

Out there, you’re warm and content. I don’t see your smile, but I could pick out the sound of your laughter in a crowd of a hundred people. I watch you keep yourself busy by feeding your infinite curiosity, always sticking your plastic nose where it doesn’t belong, and often paying a price for it. But you don’t care, as long as you’re satisfied.

You’re cool.

I’ve almost always thought that.

Your dark clothes, your heavy jacket, your fingerless gloves. Your chipped black nail polish, the wallet chain that matches Larry’s, that stick and poke of a butterfly on your wrist. Maybe the grass is greener on the other side, but I’d rather have your problems than mine. Creaky, leaky pipes bursting with green ooze in an allegedly haunted, run-down apartment complex with stained and matted carpets and a legacy of murder honestly doesn’t sound so bad to me compared to the things I have to come home to.

It would be a reasonable trade-off for friends. Family. People that check in on you. People who aren’t afraid to say hello to me in the halls. I could go check the mail and talk about the weather with someone like it’s normal. I could be a part of something.

I know it’s selfish, but I want it. I want it more than anything, and you have it.

You’re not as afraid of consequences as I think you should be. Maybe it’s because we’re different. Maybe that’s a good thing. Maybe I’m just a coward, too weak-willed and spineless to fight for myself.

Maybe I’m afraid of coming out because it means I’ll get treated the same way I’ve treated you. Maybe I’m scared of losing the plausible deniability of the late bloomer when people finally see me for what I really am. Maybe I’m scared nobody will fight for me because I deserve it.

Maybe all of that’s true, but the thing I can’t stand the most is the way I know you would look at me with pride. Contentment, joy, peace. Your eyes would crinkle at the edges and that would be the only indication you could give that you were smiling. Put a hand on my shoulder, give me a hug, invite me to lunch, bring me to your friends. You’d reel me in for good, and I could never handle that.

I fear the weight of your forgiveness would crush me.

I’ve seen the depths of your shame and fear. I’ve seen the way you cry and scream and vomit and beg, writhing on the ground as memories of death’s touch strike you down again. I’ve touched the subdued terror in your soul with my bare hands, and they burned under the heat of it. I know the humiliation you hide behind that mask you call your face. I will always know you by your scars.

Even after everything you’ve been through, you’re hopeful. Kind. Genuine.

I don’t know how you do it.

You take my cruelty in stride, never taking your heart off of your cheek. You afford me more patience than I deserve. In my dreams, I can kiss the purple vein on your temple, the altered shape of your jaw, the tiny, protruding bump of your nasal bone. I could tell you that you don’t have to hide from me, I’m not scared of you. That I wouldn’t have you any other way. That it makes you who you are. That you’re cool.

In my dreams, nobody will ever touch us. But I could never really touch you either. Only in my dreams could I love you the way I want to, and for it, shame swallows me whole.

I remember how it started.

There was always this seed of sin inside of me. I didn’t plant it there, but I did bury it inside my heart. I pretended that it couldn’t grow its roots in me if I ignored it, but weeds don’t need you to water them yourself to grow into a parasitic garden. I covered it in my need for perfection and normalcy. I covered that in prayer, fear, guilt. I layered it all over this seed like pavement, but cracks grew in my facade fast, and through those cracks, the seed had sprouted.

If you trace the stems down underneath the concrete, you can find a cavity full of the tangled nest of the roots of my desire.

I hollowed out my soul trying to stop the spread, but all I did was make more room for it. No matter how hard I tried to fight it, I have become completely and wholly infested. I know one day, hell will catch up to me, and the light in your soul can’t save me from my fate. I can tell myself anything I want, but I know that deep down, I will burn for it.

You were exempt from P.E. for several reasons, so I never saw you in the locker rooms, just on the bleachers, your head in your hands. You always looked tired when you sat there.

No, it was during one summer break I saw it. You and your friends were at the playground, dicking around on the monkey bars while I sat on the bench, half-reading my book, half-watching you through the cracks in my wall again.

You hung upside down, laughing at something Larry said. Your shirt slipped up, all the way to your armpits. It was all skin, hatched with sparse blue hairs on your chest and stomach. The waistband of your boxers, wrapped around your bony hips. Ribs, held just centimeters beneath, moving and bending as the rest of you did. Barely-used abdominal muscles struggled to keep your weight as you bent up, trying to pull yourself back down, and I still remember the way your stomach folded over itself when you finally got up there.

I can never erase it. That piece of you is locked inside of me forever. It keeps me going just as much as it holds me back. I’ll never let it go if it kills me.

I could never have what you have. I could never do what you do. I’m not strong like you are, I’m a coward. I’m weak, worthless, and empty. There’s nothing inside of me worth looking at, let alone anything worth saving, I know that. God knows that. But I can watch you through the cracks. Pretend I’ll one day take you up on your offer and talk to you, let you in. I’ll keep you at arm’s length, saying words that sound like they mean something, then disappear again.

I could never be like you, but I can watch you from afar, and that’s enough for me.

When the last bell of the day rings, I watch as you and your friends are the first ones out of those double doors, laughing and tripping over yourselves on the stairs as you stumble into the rainy streets. I watch as you all join hands, spinning around in barely coherent circles, words unintelligible, youthful energy palpable. The sound of your joy cuts through the ice-cold rain, straight into my stomach, watering the weeds I can’t pull out of my chest. The ambivalence of your mask does nothing to hide the unbridled joy you have for the moment, eyes crinkled and head bobbing to the loose rhythm, until your feet stumble over themselves; you’re the first to fall over and you take everyone down with you, laughing onto the soggy ground.

You all lay, cradled by mud and grass, hands grasping for one another as you keep pulling each other down, cursing and teasing each other while the wet dirt and plant life stain your clothes.

For a moment, you catch me watching. Your head on the ground, tilted back to look at me with an upside-down view. The rain is beginning to stop now, and your blue eyes find mine more clearly as the skies began to empty of their storm clouds. I see that look in your eye. You want to greet me, to run up to me, talk to me, but I don’t let you. Won’t let you. You want to pull me in so badly, but I can’t do it.

Watching you is all I can let myself have. But you’ll never understand that, which is why I saw your deep-blue irises, full of life and contentment, and I walked away from them, even as they called my name.

I feel the flames of Hell licking the backs of my ankles as I run from you again.

One day it will come to claim its pounds of flesh from my body, and when it’s done, there won’t be anything left for you to bury.

Playing Valorant with the straw hats.

I feel like Luffy wouldn't really understand the game and would try to make friends with the enemies. Especially death match lol. He would also be so noisy like BRO SHIFT. Very noisy in comms too.

Zoro I feel like would prob use Omen and tryna knife someone with the oni knife. He would be very quiet tbh and tries to do a knife only challenge (actually succeeded) He would also lurk and you can never trust him with the spike..

Nami would probably t-bag the enemies and shit-talk them. But I also would think she would make some plans to win and would get mad if she loses.

Ussop would be very confident with his aim (he whiffs) and would insta-lock duelist but wouldn't entry (Nami woul get mad lmao) His career are all lose but would say he always wins and is MVP.

Sanji would look at the female characters, and because he keep staring he forgot to pick an agent for the 3rd time and got him a day of ban. Would keep praising their designs and how they're made. He'd also be really guilty if he killed a female character. I feel like he'd use Chamber's pick-up lines.

Chopper would actually try. He have some cute skins, cute title, cute name, and even cute sprays. Would actually get an ace tbh. And also likes Skye's Animals and Wingman.

Robin would also try and IS a Line-up Larry. She has line-ups everywhere, actually everywhere. Even if the new map has been released for an hour she has line-ups already. Has a decent career. Prob reached ascendant one time.

Franky (idrk much about him) I feel like would rage quit and use some cheats..

Brook WOULD NOT also quiet down in comms especially when he's dead. Would play some musics and I think he would like spectrum because of the dodododo.

Jinbei (Idrk know anything about him too) I think would play it normally and would be chill and quiet. (Why did I think he'd like the Neptune vandal lol).

Fascinating how things are so different for H & L. I think someone mentioned this earlier too. I see why even the public has concluded that L is gay. I’ve seen so many posts now. One thing funny, a man stands next to L and there are fanfics written about them, dating comments, etc. Then when H stands next to a guy, nothing. But boy when he stands next to a woman he’s automatically dating her. That’s just the natural sense of things across the fandoms forever. It’s even how things are seen outside of the Larrie fandom. All the public and solo Louie comments cracked me up yesterday and it just made me realize, Larries aren’t the only ones who think L is gay. An overwhelming amount actually. I just wish both would normalize friendships with women in their groups but also I see where fans jump to the stunts conclusion right away too. I get why but it still would be nice if people would relax a bit with that thought. It gives off misogynistic vibes. I love Krystle & Helen’s friendship with Louis, just like I love Sarah’s friendship with H. More of that please. It's so funny, because Louis was so loud and flamboyant until about 2013, so everyone clocked him as gay back then, fans and gp alike. They didn’t with H necessarily. Then everything turned on it's head when they went solo. Harry was the gay and feminine one, and Louis the laddy, brash and masculine straight one. So now there are people who read Louis as straight, which is beyond me. They must have come in late to fandom and never experienced Louis before he was harshly closeted and started repressing himself. What we got a glimpse of yesterday of Louis was how it was everyday before 2013.

I want them to normalise the relationship with women too! However, as long as hshq encourages the speculation and feeds into it, by actually have him do PR relationships/beards, fandom is going to be vigilant everytime there is a woman in his vicinity who fits the stunt profile, which OD does. It's just how it is.

With Louis it's very possible to normalise his relationship with women, and i think we've come far already. The louies who are pairing him with his female crew members i think is shipping them, more than actually being convinced they're together. They're trying to will it into existence. For people to think L is with a woman, he actually has to show some form of PDA for people to get that they're an item. He can hang around most women without fandom frenzy. I’ve touched on something similar to this before, in which, we know how much louis loves kids. him and his little sisters and bro, young fans, his sisters’ kids etc. like every situation we see him with a kid in, he lights up. same with Harry

anyway, I think bbg got out of hand and when it became far more long term and he had to be pictured with this child, he probably felt very frustrated and shitty that it got this far. He probably feels bad for the kid that his family got him involved in this, and now this kid won’t ever have a normal life. and so, he’s hung out with this kid every once in a while, watching him grow up, and I can imagine he probably does care about him a lot. He’s a very caring guy in general, and so under the circumstances, he’s trying to make this work the best he can.

He’s not gonna sit there and be like “gross kid get tf away from me” lol, but he’s balancing this distance of not being too close to become such a permanent fixture in his life, and not hurting this kid’s feelings. Again, it’s hard to know what F believes as he’s only like 8 or so, so I’m not sure how much they’ve divulged with him, but I’m pretty positive he’d know louis isn’t his dad by now tbh. but louis probably just feels shitty and wants to at least have the kid spend time having fun with him, rather than miserable for a life he didn’t choose.

Re your comment about him talking about F to the fans… in my opinion, bbg is now at the level of pretty much a strictly fan service stunt, and has been for a while now. we get the little gap filler articles from bored journalists like “all about louis tomlinson’s son!” etc. every once in a while, but otherwise it’s not really gaining him much publicity these days. he’ll mention him when he does those random Twitter chats, interviews here and there, and we get our annual Christmas photo (nothing for Father’s Day this year tho cough cough), but the GP don’t… care about it. But we as fans who follow his sisters’ accounts and are more invested, bbg is brought up for us. So because it’s not shoved in our faces from the press all the time, it’s easier to keep going with it by doing a mention about it here and there.

Louis could gain some mad publicity with the end of it and still come out looking good, so it’s kinda just there until they find a suitable time for it to drop, which I have a feeling will be soon since it is so fan focused now.

and then obviously neloth wud be a professor perhaps or just someone talvas sees on the regular for educational purposes. i'm just gonna say he's pushing 70 but still not retired for some reason (he's a Tryhard). i honestly get the feeling he would carry the same level annoyance people get from Larry of s1 except he doesn't really start fights + has no actual 'good' reason to be that unbearable unlike Larry, who did have crumbs of a tragic past/loss. he's big on researching stuff at his own alone time and has an extensive record of abusing and testing on animals i BET! but it gets covered up pretty easily, or no one really wants to get into that debacle with him. everyone knows that if he could he'd test on people too.

i'm not gonna start making up entire lifestories rn so let's get to the zombie part. they obviously end up together involuntarily, talvas isn't really overjoyed but doesn't detest it either, since he respects neloff deeply and trusts his judgement (sometimes). neloth just keeps him around because he knows he can't just be walking around free at his old age in an apocalyptic world and needs a meat-shield with him at all times, especially someone young that has more energy/physical abilities than him. but obviously talvas is not always able to be big help to him just cause he's pretty "Soft" and wasn't ever prepared for anything like this. he's still stressing over his finals or soemthing bruh. they develop a strong 'bond' @ some point just cause neloth isn't liked by anyone and nobody is actually willing to stick with him thru it all but talvas. just bc it's easy for him to cling onto someone that reminds him of the normal past. when neloth realizes that someone is willing to look past his nasty behavior or practices, or is just afraid to voice their own opinion, he starts being pretty open with that person (talvas in this case), a form of trust. it's not just cause talvas is a lil bitch, but also cause he himself shares some opinions that neloth has on other people's lives/their worth/morality. it's something that would stick out from his personality in any setting at all but here it's even more important from all the deaths happening around them, especially when they're grouped up with other people. their apocalypse journey is just 90% talvas trying to do damage control and apologizing for neloth's behavior by saying he has a (NPD) diagnosis he has never taken care of before the whole zombie thing happened so u should be patient with him

so obvi the best part of this all would definitely be seeing how they would gel with a group of other survivors. it's funny too because talvas is literally always the only reason nobody throws neloth out to die or just blows his head off clean bc they had enough. talvas takes on the role of a medic like Katt in s1, and is 'high ranking' just cause of that. neloth is a 1000001% even more capable of taking on that role, but i just Know......he would just refuse to do it cus he doesn't feel like it. he'd probably try and separate himself from the group or any discussions they might have because he doesn't value anyone's opinion on anything at all. the only thing keeping him in a group would be talvas begging him to stay (neloth not being able to separate from him for reasons listed above) and him finding something to do to keep himself occupied. and Happy at that 😍 it goes like this: (talvas voice) hey remember your wife that turned last week so we had to put her down ? Yes about that i;m sorry to bring her up, Yeah stop crying i'm sorry, anyways as i was saying.. Sir neloth dug her out of that grave and is currently ripping of her skin tidbits to lab test them, just thought you should know.. don't tell him i told you anything please he'll get really mad at me okay . also your son that you didn't have the heart to put down and just left him for us to deal with? Tied to a bed, he already turned so it's no big deal, sir neloth broke his jaw off so he can't do anything to you if you feel like seeing him. can't say there'd be an apparent motive that others see in his experimental, kinda unethical, ventures, but talvas assures everyone that there is one. nobody knows. But honestly neloth is too smart of a guy to just be testing on people out of pure curiosity, it might be him trying to blow out his ego to an unimaginable degree by trying to figure out how the whole infection works, how to stop someone from turning or how to cure someone who's been bitten. tasks very ambitious but keeping him busy and away from everyone else. he mostly only communicates and shares 'secrets' with talvas because talvas has faith in him and doesn't see anything wrong with what he's doing. bonus: the whole group hates neloth even more because he keeps using the generator power to have talvas shave his head even though that should be his last priority. neloth is in seventh heaven the whole time (not showing it) just cause his dream of getting to experiment on people without being thrown in jail became true

cute fact: if they ever got into a St. John's dairy type situation and were confronted with the fact that they committed cannibalism.... they rly wouldn't gaf especially neloth. i can see talvas turning to look at him just to see how he feels (and form his opinion on the situation around his reaction) and neloth is just chilling getting his stomach full. talvas wud be disgusted by the food but then eat regardless. feels Funny for the remainder of his life after that. it really doesn't bother neloth tho. i had other situations in mind for them but they slipped out of my mind for now lmfao

neloth would have the most insane plot armor of all time to the extent that even though he's always working closely with the undead he'd never get bitten or just get killed. his ego is shielding him from everything because he values his life so much that it works in his favor. talvas latches onto that plot armor just because he's the 'closest' person to neloth but he's too nice of a person to actually survive for a very long time. he'd get Bitten😂😂😂😂 #FlyHigh but actually the nicest thing(s) neloth has ever done for him would happen after that occurrence... i feel like they'd hide that fact from everyone as a team and neloth would try to do something about it. but talvas dies anyway bye king. love you

wait Update: i forgot i wanted to write down some of this here as a bonus too. skyrim would still be in warfare but it just gets paused for zombies. i really want (we all want something don't we damnn) for elenwen and all her thalmorlings to be stuck together with some imperials in a military base perhaps. doesn't matter. just leading up to the fact that thalmor would have free reign to commit cannibalism (not every single one of them is into the idea but they're not that disgusted by it) while the imperials just try to survive on actual supplies. Elenwen: Back on summerset isles we were always taught not to waste 🤓🤓. they have the most civil agreement where the thalmor would promise not to eat any imperials if they let them eat outsiders as they pleased.

“‘Ello, ‘ello, hola! Ciao and Bonjour!” Iono takes up the whole screen in front of the camera, waving her arms with her long yellow sleeves to all the viewers just tuning in. “Welcome to the Iono Zone!”

She plops back into her pink gaming chair, revealing not only the neon star lights behind her on the colorful set, but also fellow gym leader Larry sitting beside her in a black gaming chair of his own, attired in the white dress shirt and sky-colored tie he usually has on under his suit.

“Today we have a special guest!” Iono gestures to Larry with both of her arms, “Iiiiit’s the leader of the Medali Gym, Larryyyyyyy!” 

“Hello, everyone,” Larry responds in a monotonic voice, unfazed by Iono’s energetic enthusiasm. His eyes momentarily peek at the camera before quickly glancing away.

“We have somethin’ extra special planned for this stream!” Iono smiles with her little shark teeth. “As you probably know, the Treasure Eatery is holdin’ an event of sorts soon and they need donations to make it grand! Hence why we’re both here to help earn some sweet, sweet Pokédollars for a good cause!” Iono smirks into her sleeve and whispers to herself, “It doesn’t hurt to get those subscriber numbers up either!” She raises her voice. “Anywho! “Then, let’s officially start the stream!” Iono cheers and begins her intro. “Your eyeballs are MINE—caught in my Electroweb! Whosawhatsit? Iono!” She motions towards her fellow gym leader again. “Aaaand Larry! Let’s go!”

In the middle of guessing pokemon names just by a picture of their silhouettes, Iono and Larry hear the donation alert go off with a celebratory ring, followed by the audio of a joyous pikachu cry. The streamer looks back at her screen to view the numbers. 

“That was quite fast.”

“Well, the viewers really want to see the next incentive! Which is…da da da!” Iono checks her computer monitor on the side to remind herself of what’s next on the list. She giggles. “Oooh! I’m super excited for this one! Iiiit’s ‘Getting Larry to Smile!’”

“What?” Larry tilts his head to the side, more confused if anything. “Why would people want to see me smile?”

“Because you always got on that same brooding expression. We need to brighten your face up like a lightbulb!” She turns to the camera. “Isn’t that right, loyal viewers?”

Iono’s stream chat flies with excitement. It seems they want to see this as much as she does.

“Nyhohoho! That’s what I thought! So how should we go about makin’ him smile?” Iono ends her sentence with a grin towards Larry. The normal type gym leader simply sits back with tense shoulders and follows along with whatever the girl has planned.

One comment in the chat goes by saying: “Jokes!”

“Oooo, I like your thinking, Electro King!” Iono responds to the chat.

Another says: “Funny videos!”

“Yeah! Solid answers! But I’m thinkin’ of something a liiiittle different. You all want to see what I’m thinking?” Iono’s shark toothed grin grows even wider. The chat floods with yeses and “Show us!”

Larry cuts in, “Hm? What else could make someone smile other than jokes or funny videos?”

“Oh, you’ll see my dear Larry! In fact, I’ll make it a surprise! Close your eyes!”

“What?”

“C’mon! Close ‘em! You don’t want to keep all the fans waiting!”

“Alright then.” Larry does as she asks and closes his eyes.

“Coolio! So on the count of three we’re all going to surprise Larry! Ready everyone?” she says to the audience, then twists her chair to the side to face her fellow gym leader. 

“One…Two…” Iono’s smile beams. She lifts her hands up and wiggles her fingers in the air so they're visible to the camera, snickering as she does so. “Three!” she launches her hands towards his sides.

“Ack!” Larry jumps in his chair and shoots his eyes open. “Iono! What are you—” After the initial shock wears off, Larry shuts his mouth closed as a wobbly smile suddenly forms on his face. Small, huffy, but still audible giggles start to slip out of him.

“I’m tickling you silly!” Iono exclaims as her fingers wiggle into his sides through the fabric of his dress shirt. Larry wraps his arms around his middle and turns his head into his shoulder to try and hide his silly expression from view, but Iono catches a glimpse of it. “And look at that! You’re smiling! It’s a wobbly one, but you’re smiling!”

Larry buries his head deeper into his shoulder, his twitching smile only growing. “Ionohoho!”

“Buuut, I bet that smile can be even bigger!” the streamer exclaims while Larry tries to slightly twist from side to side in his chair. “Let’s play a game! It’s called ‘Find the Tickle Spot!’ Everyone watching at home can play along too!”

“Nohoho! Dohohon’t!” Larry’s giggles slowly become more audible the higher the girl climbs her hand up his sides.

“Let’s see…” Iono lightheartedly ignores his request. “How about the stomach?” The streamer moves one of her hands to his belly and Larry lets out a squeak of giggles, leaning forward in his chair to curl up his middle.

“Not bad, not bad. Now how about the armpits?” Iono shoots her hands to his underarms and Larry yelps through his giggles, clamping his arms down and rolling back in his chair a little when he kicks his legs out in reflex.

“Ooo, we’re getting close! But where else should we try?” Iono teases. She glances over at the chat, seeing a comment that says: “Try his ribs!”

“His ribs? You got it!”

“Wait! Not the—AH!” Larry bursts into deep laughter when Iono dives her hands into the bones of his ribs. The joyful sounds that were being held back now spilled through the broken barrier of his smile for everyone to hear. He falls back in his seat while squeezing his arms to his sides, squirming around in his chair and swinging his legs at the air above the ground. 

“Ha ha! We got ‘im!” Iono then scribbles around his torso at the other places she tried before, now getting larger reactions. “And it looks like that activated these other spots too!”

“Ionohohohoho!” Larry curls himself up in an attempt to avoid the girl’s hands that were like magnets to his metallic ticklish spots. Wherever he wiggled, Iono would still find a place to get him to giggle.

“You know, for someone who also hangs out with flying types, you would think that he would adapt to his ticklishness! Imagine being around all those feathers!” Iono entertains her audience with commentary while Larry continues giggling from under her fingers.

“Thehehey dohohon’t try to tihihickle mehehe ohohon puhuhuhurpose!” Larry exclaims.

“Ah, true true. Unlike me. An electric type trainer! Bzzzt!” Iono vibrates her clawed fingers into his ribs like they were thunderbolts producing tickly shocks. Larry’s laughter immediately rises in pitch and he tosses his head back into his chair.

Iono giggles at his reaction. “Zap! It’s super effective!”

“Ionohohohoho!” Larry nearly leans halfway off his seat to escape the girl's playful tickles, “I cahahan’t tahahake anymohohore! Plehehease!”

The electric gym leader chuckles. “Okay, okay. You got it friendo!” She removes her hands away and the man slumps forward. He wraps his arms around his rising and falling chest while leftover giggles still trickle out of him, before he drops back in his chair to relax.

“Sooo, how do you feel?” Iono asks with an excited lean.

Larry takes a moment to regain his breath. “Tingly…”

“No no no, not that silly! How do you feel?”

Larry glances at the girl. “Huh?”

“Well, I saw that you were a little stiff and tense being on your first stream and all, so I thought to loosen you up!” Iono explains with a grin. “So, do you feel less stressed? We need to know if the Iono secret remedy works!”

Larry blinks at the girl. He slowly sits himself up in his chair and removes his hands from his middle. His back and shoulders are less tense and his breathing becomes still. He takes a moment to examine the rest of the muscles in his body, feeling that they’re no longer ridgid. He  glances at the other gym leader, dumbfounded at how well it did the trick. “I suppose I do feel less stressed.”

“Then the donation goal, ‘Get Larry to Smile’ is complete!” Iono throws her hands up in the air. Larry huffs out a small laugh, his way of showing amusement and thanks for his fellow gym leader.

“Alright then! Are you ready to have some more stress-free fun?” Iono asks with energetic glee.

The man lifts up his head. A faint, but cheerful smile still lingers on his face. “Ready,” he nods.

Iono grins back. Her electrifying energy surges through the room, reaching to those watching from afar, and to those right beside her. “Now that’s what I like to hear!”

we try to all the time -- but its harder on the older fics. i genuinely try to respond to as many as possible but it just isn't feasible. but we are so so so so grateful for all of them

OBVIOUSLY my beloved neither do you. its the only unhappy ending and BOY is it unhappy

hmmm they all really have "happy endings" i suppose. some of the smut is less happy i guess LOL. probably there you'll stand because its happy AND you get to read about it. i usually love to end once they get together so you never get to see them actually like, in love etc.

THESIS OF THE ACCT. all of the fics are written by the two of us running this account. some more than others but there's always always been input for every single fic from both of us. except the anonymous ones. thats just me (charlie). sorry.

we are first and foremost larry stylinson girls. always. but for f1 its lestappen DUH and then sebchal.

What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?

sigh....... i'd love to think all the wips will get finished. but there's a landoscar spinoff of tys(ntm) that i doubt will ever get finished because we are now more anti-lando lol than we were when we started. so its hard to continue. also because i'm too interested in writing new things, not wanting to go back to that universe.

What are your writing strengths?

hmmm. tricky. i think we do angst quite well - it's much easier for me to make them Suffer than it is to write them happy and in love i think. like the emotions and torment just come a lot more natural. and i do think sometimes our smut does eat. personally.

What are your writing weaknesses?

DIALOGUEEEEEE. this is charlie speaking saying em basically wrote all dialogue for TYS(NTM). and genuienly like. most of the KILLER lines were not me. i just can never think about what someone would say or how they would communicate if not blunt honesty. you can tell if i wrote the majority of a fic because it's just descriptions.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

occasional words -- fine. anything else, i don't necessarily agree with. there's usually errors and/or it just doesnt make sense for the intended audience.

What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?

like lets be fr, we are only writing f1. ship..... there's a maxiel/chestappen wip in the brain. i am not writing for the ship though. i am writing because the idea plagues me. but its always gonna be lestappen or sebchal. wait also. 4433 in the works.

it always always has to be tys <3 but la rentree was the most fun to write for sure. and bottle episode. those 3 i think. but tys ... i cannot describe what it was like to spend 3 months writing this and editing and so many facetime calls and google doc comments and etc etc

So I'm working on other fanarts again, but I think it might take a while. I have a couple other headcanons to share for the meantime since I'm still trying to make it work. Anyway, here are some of the new headcanon I got so far:

• He's self-centered and has a bit of an ego. (It's not big, but he had moment where he feel like he's the greatest.)

• he would slouch a lot in his chair.

• Legacy would also sleep on the job with his feet on the table as he bend his chair over to rest. (He also snore as well but does it annoyingly.)

• Legacy would probably have a short temper problem. He's not very patient and immediately jump to conclusions and be reckless with his decision making. All this cause he couldn't control himself when he's upset. In other words, he goes through moods swing.

• He's really doesn't take care of himself. Guy just followed through motion of life without thinking much about his well being. Neglecting his well-being and mental health in the process.

• He the kind of guy who pushes down/bottle up his emotions cause he doesn't like to be shown as weak. He has to toughen it out and doesn't allow himself to express it.

• He may or may not have trust issues

• When it comes to friendship, Legacy love to playfully name call them while messing with them.

• If he was pissed off about something, he would give silent treatment. (Possibly even suppressed all his emotions inside and be expressionless as possible. In other words, he would have a stoic demeanor when he upset.)

• Usually when it comes to relationship, legacy normally wouldn't care and neglect it if he has no emotional bonding with them. So when the partner he felt little to no connection with decided to break up with him, he shrug it off and doesn't display any sign of being heartbroken while his partner is the only one crying and feeling frustrated. But when he's with someone he formed a strong emotional bond and considered to be his best friend, he's actually scared. He genuinely afraid to ruin the relationship with the one he loves so dearly.

• Considering he's an asshole and standoffish, he would be kinda mean toward someone he doesn't know and reject them instantly after they confessed their love for him. (If not, then he'll probably be a bit awkward about it and say something like "Let me think about it" or agree to go on a date with them, but never deliver on that promise.)

• Legacy would be awkward when it comes to comforting people with their emotions. Like someone he doesn't know would cry in front of him and he'll just form a confused look on his face as he slowly leans over to them and pat them on the back. He's no help, but at least he's trying. (That or maybe he'll make the situation worse by stating the worst possible outcome but does it so casually.)

• This part is a bit far fetched, but I hc that Legacy is unaware of the fact that his brothers are sacrificing so much just to keep him around. The higher-ups believes that there's was no point of keeping him around considering how useless he is and thought they should shut him down. Larry and Lawrie had to convince them to keep him around while trying to make legacy do some work so he wouldn't be taken away. So this whole time, Legacy is unaware how ungrateful he is because his siblings are pulling every single strings they can to protect him. (Again, maybe it's NOT that serious lol.)

My day is BETTER seeing you in my ask box once again

I can definitely see him with an ego. Especially when he's called in to battle, "You two are seriously doing so bad you needed my help?" Like a lil bitch 🤺

Also, he 100% sleeps like that AND snores loudly as all hell. Sometimes, he'll rest his head on the desk, and the snoring is a lil less loud, but it's still prominent. He's also probably fallen over several times

He's definitely had major mood swings. He's usually a laid-back kinda guy, but if his buttons get pressed in all the wrong ways, he'll snap so fast it causes whiplash. He can be angry if you really push him to that point

Legacy definitely NEVER does maintenance check ups. He thinks he's fine cuz he just sits around, not knowing dust is absolutely clogging up his fans and airways. His brothers usually have to force him to see a mechanic 😭 Drag him out of his damn camera room

God, his whole relationship thing with anyone would be messy. Family, friends, romantic, anything. He's a mess and messes everything up as much as he doesn't want to

In fact, I think he'd be mad his brothers fought to keep him there. Not to get angsty, but he honestly hates where he's at

He was made like his brothers, but he grew tired of his own coding as time went on and on, being useless, his brothers just doing all of the work. He was useless, so he just stayed useless in hopes he'd actually get something in return for it. But, he never did. His brothers just took all of the work that was meant for the three of them

He gave up wanting to be like them long ago.

With friends and partners, it's also rocky. He's really isolated from everyone, so seeing or talking to anyone is a struggle for him. He barely tries to form a bond. Even if he and the other person really connect, he's just constantly giving short responses or just not being too involved. With time, he does warm up, but that's if the other is truly patient with him.

If he opens up more, I think he could genuinely meet some good people !!! He just needs patience

Gina, do you think it´s weird that as being a straight woman, I recently realized I much more appreciate gay art/gay artists than the "normal" one? Of course it started with Larry and them teaching us about gay history through rbb and sbb and watching My Policeman as my first ever gay movie but I just found myself that as much as I am sick of heteronormativity, I just like queer things much more, I find gay culture much sexier and following Troye Sivan (as an openly gay man) sometimes I dream how HL´s social sites might look like if they could be as open as Troye is. And of course I just love showing them my support eventho I´m ally, currently I discovered there´s new collab collection for Zara man with gay artist Pepo Moreno and of course I had to buy some items because I loved it. I´m writing you because I feel safe in this larrie fandom and hope others share the same with me.

Hi, sugar. It’s 2am here, so I really can’t give you a long answer. But, no. It’s not weird at all. I think there are a lot of reasons why that could be.

The first is that it’s possible you’re not as straight as you’d thought. I can’t tell you the number of people who discovered/became comfortable with their own sexuality because of this fandom.

As a bi woman, who is in a relationship with a man, I personally still find het romance film/books etc. really difficult to enjoy. I much prefer m/m media. Otherwise, its very hard for me not to compare myself to the female protagonist or my relationships with the ones on screen and it’s tough to sink into the story (I only get like that with romance, though. Not other genres so, that says something about me. LOL). M/M media also removes the inherent power dynamic and triggering concepts that are so prevent in a lot of heterosexual mainstream media.

I think there’s something really beautiful about queer people being open and authentic and at peace with who they are. That’s something I think we all want for ourselves, regardless of our sexuality. Perhaps that’s part of what you’re gravitating towards with someone like Troye.

I mean, queer people are also awesome and incredibly creative and resilient and inspiring and sexy and cool and… all the stuff. What’s not to love? 😉
