#I know I should redesign her demon form

I believe this is the first time I’m posting non fandom related art! This is a redraw I did over the summer of a piece of art I made for a writing assignment in 2021 featuring an OC of mine.

IT’S ME, I’M THE FOOL.

This whole time I’ve been saying that people with God Powers TM are Marked. They all have something on their face! (Except Legend, what’s on his face is just scales, don’t be confused).

But this WHOLE TIME I’ve been drawing Sun without her Marks. Like. She’s literally Hylia. She has God Powers, she should have them. Anyway so this is my Sun redesign for real this time. Just pretend that she looks like this in my “I am Sky” comic.

Anyway so here’s some information about her under the cut.

I don’t have a big story for her like I do for Flora because Cryptid Sky’s story barely changes Skyward Sword like at all. He’s formed that the very very end, after the Goddess’s Silent Realm, so most things involving Sun remain the same.

I will say that she didn’t always have her Marks. When she was born as Zelda, her face was clear, like every other Skyloftian. But when she fell to the Surface and began a quest of her own, when she discovered her divine origins, she started to remember. She’d pray at the springs to recover her memories and her powers, and one by one, her face would be Marked.

By the time that Link had secured all of the Sacred Flames and forged the Master Sword with them, Sun was already lost. And in her place stood a Goddess.

I don’t think that people give her enough credit for all she’s been through. Sun deserved so much better, she lost her life to Hylia’s plans just as much as Link did. And when Link merged into Sky, he was merely mimicking the transformation that his dearest friend had already gone through. Sun’s soul is still split in half, still shared between herself and her Loftwing, but in that empty part of her core lies the domineering presence of Hylia herself. Her life as she knew it is over. Is she Zelda anymore? Or is she Hylia?

She loves Link SO MUCH. When she first comes out of their thousands-of-years long slumber, she’s in shock to see that he’s gone. She falls from the amber shards and lands squarely in Sky’s arms, and Sky envelopes her in his soft wings, holding her as if she’s the most precious thing in the world. In the haze, she doesn’t realize the change in her dearest friend. But when she opens her eyes, she’s devastated.

As far as she’s concerned, it���s her fault. She used Link. Forced him to go on this quest, forced him into the Silent Realms, forced him to wield the Master Sword and the Triforce. She’s the reason that he fused with Aepon; she’s the reason that Link is gone.

But Sky laughs the same as Link would, relief in his eyes when she gathers the strength to stand. She holds her hand in his own, and it feels just like the hand she knows. His face is the same, for the most part: his hair is different and he’s got red spots on his cheeks, but the more she looks at him, the more she sees Link. And as they make it through the Temple together, as she watches Groose fawn over him, she realizes that he’s not gone at all.

He’s changed, just like she is. But just like she’s still his Zelda, Sky is still her Link. The guilt still worms its way into her chest, but as long as Sky is smiling, she’s able to see past it.

Sky does not smile for very long, as a certain Demon Lord shows up mere moments later to ruin their happy ending. To be honest, Sun doesn’t remember much of that night. She remembers the anger in Sky’s face as his body trembled on the ground. She remembers the cold cruelty of Ghirahim’s voice against her chest as she was carried away from her Link- her Sky. She remembers feeling so weak and helpless, cursing the Goddess- cursing herself- for being so useless.

And then all she knew was pain. Blinding, burning agony that enveloped her entire being. She thought she was dying, weightless and alone and scared.

The next time she opened her eyes, she was inside the Sealed Temple. Groose held her. Sky was nowhere to be seen.

She cried into Groose’s chest, something she never would have dreamed of doing a year ago, her head still reeling from that feeling of hopelessness, that pain. All at once, she was scared and relieved and safe and in danger. And Groose held her through it.

Sky would stumble into the Temple much later, limping and bleeding and spasming. His right arm would be totally friend and his wings would drag on the ground, feathers in disarray. He’d lean away from Groose and fall into Sun’s open arms. And when it was time to return the Master Sword to her final resting place, he’d do so with a heaviness in his eyes that’s uncharacteristic and a weakness in his body that’s frightening.

Both Sun and Sky take a long time to recover from that. And really, neither of them ever do. But as Sky starts to physically heal, Sun starts to see more traces of her dear Link. Being around her closest friend and newfound lover is healing, and after the adventure they’d had, they don’t leave each other’s side for a long while.

Sun is very protective over Sky, just like she always was with Link. They exchange Loftwing feathers (Sky gives her his own). And just five days after they’re reunited, they’re separated again.

Okay okay okay. This was less about Sun and more about Sun AND Sky, but they’re pretty much inseparable I think. From Sky’s perspective, there’s a lot of confusing feelings that I’ll get into when I actually write a fic (I’m starting a fic!), but Sun just loves him so much. I have a little comic series which is actually a collection of little short stories in a much bigger plot called “I am Sky.” The short comics aren’t all finished (and they can be read as stand alones) but the order they go in is:

“I am Sky” Stories: Zelda

This all takes place after the Demise battle, when Sky is healing and has the chance to sit down and reflect. When he gets the opportunity to learn about himself, the person that his two halves made him. He struggles a lot, but these specific stories have a lot of comfort. He’ll be fine. Probably.

I'm going to play devils advocate and say all her characters aren't their skin tone but I will say maybe make the grey ones latino/Hispanic paste white Caucasian/white and people and darker grey or whatever color velvet is black and all the furries can be left to the imagination or work around the design to get a idea but of course that's how I would do it which also I do agree the designs suck you can't tell who's black hair will help distinct that but not necessarily when it comes to other race of color that don't have that type of hair which is why I say you should have certain colors representing race like paste white can also be for white asains but maybe distinct with eye shape

That makes it even unintentionally worse and confusing Anon 😂 I personally believe Vivziepop should actually have the characters somewhat reflect how they look when they were human (along with their skin tone) so none of use don’t have time to decode whose is black, Hispanic, Asian, etc with these dumb ashy colors.

I’ll use Alastor for example and will mention some minor spoiler regarding the Hazbin season 2 leaks.

The 2 images you see above is when Vivziepop made Alastor in middle school. Look at this man’s skin, it is still ashy as hell and no intentions of being black or mixed. Literally the same skin tone as series Alastor. The only difference is that middle school Alastor got that edgy ass hair cut.

Flash forward: Alastor’s new human form got curls and is looks much darker than his counterpart. Hmmm, I wonder why. Oh wait, the black community would understandably get on her ass about his original human design once they show it on Prime, Vivziepop also shot herself in the foot by adding voodoo stuff to it, and had to cover it by saying Alastor is creole.

Keep in mind, Alastor’s human form was going to look like this 💀

I know many are used to pilot designs and all that stuff but I really wished she actually redesigned the sinners to actually be at least similar to their human counterparts. It’s gives me total whiplash when I see Alastor’s new official human design then he downgrades to his obviously middle school demon form and loses all his melanin.

REDESIGNING MAGIK

Welcome to Limbo! Our group chose Illyana Rasputina, the marvelous Magik for this round! Introduced as the younger sister of Colossus, Magik joined the 80s New Mutants team as a young teen and has since flourished into an A-Lister in her own right. She's been a member of the Phoenix Five, Cyclops' renegade X-Men squad, the Krakoan New Mutants, and the 2022 X-Men team.

She has several inspiration points for artists and redesigners to pull from. She's most well-known for her all-black 2012 look but has also sported demonic and fantasy influences as someone connected to the hellish Limbo and her malevolent alter ego, the Darkchylde.

Version 1 "The Savage Magik". Having been stripped of her magical knowledge, Illyana Rasputin hunts down various enchanted artifacts to replace what she's lost. Becoming desperate she seems to be willing to steal and sometimes kill to get these talismans. Among these are the Soul Dagger of Pixie, the medallion of Daimon Hellstrom, Holy bands from "Heven" and a cursed skull from an alternate version of Lockheed.

Version 2 "Mistress Magik" This is an older more seductive Magik that's been corrupted by the influence of Selene and embraced her sensuality, opening up a whole new avenue of mystical arts that she hadn't dared explore before. She now uses her SoulSword to capture the essences of her foes and much like Selene feeds on them keeping her young and vital.

Version 3 "Magik, Queen of Hell" Many questioned the logic of Magik giving Limbo to Madelyne Prior but the end game has been revealed. Illyana allowed Madelyne to tether her magic to Limbo, knowing eventually "Maddie" would get greedy and begin bringing more power to that dimension. With a carefully hidden clause in the Limbo transference spell Magik takes back Limbo and all the power within it and successfully overthrows all the Hell Lords, unifying the many dreaded dimensions under one fearsome rule, hers.

"Almost as soon as Magik was decided on for this design challenges I had two ideas strike me simultaneously ... The first of those ideas was the image of Illyana as a 90's Riot(ish) on the cover of a Magazine. I wanted to give her an edgy grungy vibe but still pay homage to her Demonic nature.

Shortly after Finishing my first Design I just knew I had to make my second idea come to life.

What if Illyana was an Anime Mech Pilot and Wore a Plugsuit... thats it... thats the idea. I really wanted to strike the Balance between Anime Plugsuit but still being noticeably Magik and X-men.

I kept the Bright yellow Color scheme with hints of black and red and chose to interpret her Armored arm into a Mechanized oversize cybernetic arm that helps fuel her Plasma Powered Soul sword that springs forth from her Gauntlet."

Ooooookay! Hazbin Hotle redesigns....but not really? Honestly, it's just me drawing them in my style, but they could be considered redesigns, I guess, specifically Charlie

Either way, I kinda kept her original dress, with the symbols and what not, I feel liek blue and purple really suit her so, indigo

I tried to add red to her, but it just didn't look good. It gave me an eye strain.though her till and horns have a sort of dark magenta color going on

I wanted to add more 'freckles' cause, thier cute, and I have a bunch of freckles ove rmy arms and legs and face and stuff so, added them to em, I put a few on her ears and tail and horns to

Next is Charlie!!

Um. Obviously, Charlie is the most changed from her canon design, I relaly like her hooves and others redesigns of her looking more liek a goat

Originally, I was just gonna add gaot ears and stuff, but the more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea of her having fur soooo tadaaaaa~

I gave her a little red stripe between her eyes and fade on her legs and ears to match Razzle and dazzle, and since lucifer was a high angle a seraphm/archangels hoenstly I dotn see a difference. I gave her some white freckles as well to sorta, show that connection

Also, toe beans! If she has claws, she can have beans, I think that Emily would have a normal human hand while vaggie would have little soft spikes on her like moths do, tho that's not shown

I also drew charlies wings cause it's cnaon she has them, and I wanted to play around with the demon/angle wing/s she could have, my irl friend K helped me decide which one to choose

I also drew her leg so you can see the fade in full. Side note that her belly has the same cherry red fur

I also added some chest fluff because why not?

As for her horns, I kept them the same color but added rings like Lilith has to show a connection between them. She also has her mom's eyes and heart tail point. I wanted her to have some demon stuff out just cause, she is a demon, she should......also realizing just how long I made her tail-

Uhhh, oh, right, side note, which I'll have to make a separate post about, Lucifer/eve/lilith are all dating each other, and Chalrie is all 3s kid. Eve is where she got the goat aspect from, inckuding horn shape, her scaly tail, snake fangs, red cheeks and color scheme over all are from dad, and Lilith is where she got her eyes and horn rings and heart point from, and beans to I guess

Maybe I should make a gene sheet one day; I gave her Jean shorts, like how I usually wear just cause I didn't want to add too much red or black

Okay, vaggie time!

Vaggie is the least changed. The most I really change about her is how her wings look. Her hand snow has soft spikes like moths do, and her hair

I do think when she fell, she got more demon aspects, but since her wings were torn off, she doesn't have to many physically other than fangs and the spikes

I also made her hair shorter because please, nobody has their hair that long!! or if they do, then I've never seen them!

I know it's a show, but it was driving me crazy! I'm not that skilled at draw front view bodies yet, so if vaggie looks off I'm sorry:(

Higher Quality Design Pt. 1: Charlie.

Design Notes/New Concepts:

What I kept:

Her colours! I think the apple-ish colours are actually a really cute choice!

Her being the princess of hell. I notice a lot of redesigns make her an angel instead which I'm honestly not really a fan of. I think her being a naturally kind hellborn is a lot more impactful than “shes good so she should be an angel instead.”

Her puppet-like appearance. I just think it's cute.

What I changed/Added:

She's no longer an organic-being but rather an actual puppet made of magic. She's made of wood from the apple-tree her parents met under.

She's more apple-shaped and taller overall. I think the idea of her being this pretty big demon that a lot of people are initially scared of would be pretty funny especially if she's very physically strong but never uses it for harm, so even though she could harm others she's too kind to go through with it.

She has a key-hole in her back that unleashes her more demonic-form when it's unlocked. She has no idea of this though.

While she means-well, she has no clue how a rehabilitation centre actually works, since she's lived a pretty sheltered life. So she has this sort-of “you just gotta keep trying!” attitude that she later learns to overcome.

She has creation-magic like her dad but can't really use it as well. She only knows how to make apple-related things, so when people first go to the hotel, almost every piece of furniture is made of giant apples.

Finally, I finished him!

So here he is, the King of Lust himself, Asmodeus! I wanted to take a break from the main cast plus hyperfixation came into play so if I didn't draw Ozzie my brain would have exploded so here we are. I'm putting this under read more because there's a lot of ranting before I get to the notes on the redesign plus pictures to address my points:

To be honest: I don't mind Ozzie's design/outfit in the show. It isn't horrible by any means and there was a time where I could say I even liked it. But when Oops dropped and seeing him without the suit happened, disappointment sunk in.

Are you telling me this man, is a beefcake under that compression suit? The embodiment of lust is jacked and his outfit doesn't show that!?

Seriously Viv, where's the beef?

And while I did say that I did at one time like his design, I never found it really 'sexy' (his voice on the other hand...) and after seeing his beautiful chest all I can do is cry about it.

Also: what is it with Viviziepop and top hats? It's if half of her male cast wears them. It'd make sense for some characters, notability sinners who died in their era that they were popular but it makes no sense for other characters. In this case, I just think Ozzie looks better without one.

Ahem, yeah okay, right, soooo notes:

I noticed one of his earlier looks before the final design he had a longer, thicker and fluffier neck and kinda sad they didn't keep that being it worked with the rooster motif he's suppose to have. I decided to incorporate it back into my design just because I can. Plus, ya know it's fluffy:

I also decided to give him bird feet/chicken legs and make him a bit thicker thighs because excuse me he's part rooster have you seen the meat on those things?!

Because my obsession with his chest, I decided that the outfits should show it off more because, um...chest. Also: FLUFF. idk why I just really wanted to make him fluffy.

The outfit on the right was the one I drew first but I felt it was lacking the regal feel I wanted to go with being he is one of the Deadly Sins and I wanted to show that (along with his chest and fluff but shh). I decided to keep it as a secondary, causal outfit on days off when all you want to just lay on the couch and chill/cuddle with your boyfriend. (likely gonna get rid of the neckless being I mostly just added it because I thought it was funny. If you know, you know.)

After going back at it a second time I decided to go for a burlesque style (Not sure if I nailed it or not) considering his club sorta had that theme going for it and while I'm more than likely going to revisit and change a few things later on, I overall love how the outfit came out.

And of course, a crown. I may get rid of the fire/flaming top in later drawings but I thought it was cool at the time.

I may still revisit the design to maybe add a bit more bull, goat and possible dragon to his design outside of the heads but I think I may save that for when I cerate his full demon form where I'll have those features stand out more. Likely won't have him have his tiny form in my au, no matter how cute it is.

not really a design note persay but kinda want to mention it because it bothers me: I drew/inked and colored both of these at different times which is why the anatomy and coloring is so different from each other. I'm still playing around with clip studio paint tho I think the shading style on the right is the one I'm gonna go with for now on.

As for character/lore notes: I really don't like how it feels as if Ozzie (along with some other characters) was defanged in season two plus how they made him, a deadly sin, not feeling all too threating. Granted, Ozzie being nice isn't the problem (being nice doesn't necessarily mean you're a good person plus I do like that the sins do have some virtues like believing in consent being ya know, complexity and what not suppose to be full on evil) and I even have him being one of the nicer Sins in my AU but still can have his dickish moments and hell, he and Fizz are gonna drag your corpse with the amount of roasting they're dishing you about your sex life because god they were so much fun when both them had more bite. Please bring back my chaotic asshole jester gremlin and his rooster boyfriend tag teaming about how much you suck in bed and just being a general nuisances to society plzthx. (plus ya know, Fizz is a Jester his job is roasting people. Not to say he can't have some kindhearted moments. His friendship with Blitzo gives me life and I love the moment with the deaf kid even if you have to question why a kid is doing at a 18+ event to begin with but that's a whole other can of worms.)

While I'm not going with the circus theme that Viv claims she's going for with each Deadly Sin being based off a circus act (which is a fun idea in theory tbh if that idea expanded on outside of a poorly done aesthetic), I kind of like the idea of a magician motif for Ozzie due to his use of fire plus one of his infernal correspondences happens to be illusions, which we kinda saw him do in Ozzie's. I thought it was a cool touch, regardless if that was intentional or not.

Also, apparently it's canon that Fizzarolli is his first romantic relationship and idk that kinda bothers me. Asmodeus is over thousand years old and in biblical lore he's been in a few relationship (plus what happened in the Book of Tobit with Sarah). Why not play around with that? In my AU, he's been in at least two (Lilith and Mammon respectfully, and I'll talk about that at a later time) before but they were all failed relationships, which soured his view on love for a long time until he fell for Fizz. I also headcanon Ozzie being/use to being a bit of a hopeless romantic, as much as he tries to hide it (poorly).

Hey, I drew some half decent hands for once.

Anyways, yeah, here's my version of Ozzie. Next up with be either Stolas (which is less of an rewrite and more of a damn overhaul because holy shit I really had enough of this guy in canon) or perhaps Beelzebub being I got some ideas for her too.

Analyzing and reviewing some more stuff in the SOUP update for SJSM

So, in my last post talking about the SOUP update, I missed out on some things that I want to comment on. Obviously this won't be as long as my previous post, but I hope you enjoy regardless.

Miscellaneous Stuff

The funny red gummy worm mfs have 3d models now and judging from this still screenshot they'll actually move like worms. I really dig this change because not only will it make the pink and yellow room more surreal when you step into it, but it also makes it more clear that the worms are... well, worms, since that wasn't really made obvious in the original version where they were just 2d red lines moving across the floor. Very nice.

The bones that we see throughout the mansion will also be getting 3d models. A small but very great improvement. Always thought it was a bit lame and odd that the bones were 2d images. Especially since the skeleton of the Romantic Victim was a 3d model. Now all of them are 3d and will add to the atmosphere instead of looking out of place.

And there's this pic of Ringu showing her sharp teeth. Not much to say other than it looks cool.

Before we move on, I just want to talk about Beef Demon's redesign again. In the last post I kinda dunked on the dude, but after seeing him move around a bit and realizing he doesn't look as skinny as I originally thought thanks to that little showcase video Hoolopee posted on Twitter, I think he actually looks pretty cool and unnerving. I especially like the texture on him. It kinda makes him look like he's made out of meat, something I think the original model should have implied more. I think I'll start to prefer this model to the older once I get used to it. I think Jenbobby explained it best. The trailer just did my boy dirty.

Specimen 9

So, another design that I'm a bit mixed on. My guy do be looking like a cranky ass old man who just got woken up from his nap, but on the other hand, I do like how they lean more into the "disembodied head made out of clay" aspect. He actually looks like he's made out of clay here, which is pretty cool.

But, he just looks a bit odd to me and isn't as creepy as the original model in my opinion. I feel like the neck plays a factor into this as well as it looks a bit too long. Decent model I suppose, just think this one will take some getting used to.

As for his boss form, the redesign here is... decent. I think he is too brightly colored and his head and jaw looks odd which makes him look less creepy to me, but it's a solid model.

Originally I thought Specimen 13's model wasn't changed at all, but they actually did alter it a bit. Her hair is now slightly shorter and has changed a bit in appearance. Her fish body has went from blue to a more teal looking color and the end of her tail is a more triangular shape rather than looking like a typical fish tail. It also seems like compared to her original model, her breasts got a bit of a buff... nice so have fun with that.

Anyways, I do like this model, but I think the textures could've been done better. Comparing the models, her hair and the scales on her fish half look lower quality on the new model, which is odd. I also don't like how the end of her tail went from resembling the tail of a fish to... I don't even know what it's supposed to be anymore. Again, the model is pretty great, but it unfortunately gets brought down by the textures and tail.

Specimen 7

Wow... now this... this is a glow up. I already enjoyed Specimen 7's design before, but holy shit, this is amazing. The faces look like they're in more agony than ever, overall detail has been improved, and it looks more scarier overall. I don't know what else to add other than that this redesign is similar to how Spooper's redesign was handled. Do exactly what you did before... but just better. Move over Old Specimen 10 Eel Thing, because THIS is EASILY the best redesign from this update hands down. Specimen 7 fans are eating 100%.

Anyways, that's about it really. Not much else to say other than although it seems to be pretty controversial so far, I'll be gladly waiting for the SOUP update despite its faults I'll never forgive them for what they did to Bab though.

One more thing though...

You're telling me the mf behind the redesigns in this update is the same mf behind this? A-am I the only one shocked?

Alright, so I finally jumped on the bandwagon (for better or for worse) and redesigned the main cast of Hazbin Hotel!

Disclaimer: I am not saying that my designs are better than the ones in the show, I am just saying that this is what I would have done if I were to design the characters, plus addressing some common criticism of Vivziepop's character designs. I enjoy the show, and with that comes some artistic liberties. Proceed.

So I'm going to show each character individually, plus a brief explanation (EDIT: They were not as brief as I thought... I love these characters, so sue me!) of what I changed and why, and then a lineup at the end!! Stick with me please, I put a lot of work into these!

First up, Charlie! I had no idea she was meant to be based off of a porcelain doll. I thought she was a weird hell-vampire thing ngl. Fangs, pastey skin, you get it. The only thing the doll thing had going for it was the cheek marks, and I though that was a design choice for blush, like Mabel in Gravity Falls!

Porcelain dolls are really just those gen alpha tiktok influencer-level skin care routines plus dresses from two centuries ago, so I decided to go with a more puppet-leaning/mouthpiece design, plus some more goat-ish attributes, like her lil hoovsies!

Her color pallatte is brighter than the other designs because I wanted to show how she (while still utilizing the pinks and reds of hell) is the most pure-hearted of the bunch, as she's the only one who really doesn't belong in hell.

If this does well (or I want to) I might do her demon form!

VAGGIE! My girl. I love her.

So my main problem with Vaggie's current design: HER HAIR. I'm sorry, but how are the physics of that supposed to work?? Please? /gen

She also says in the show that she's "not used to fighting with long hair, and the ponytail in episode 8 doesn't really serve that purpose? At least from the viewers POV, hence the bun.

I know she's not technically a moth demon, since she's an ex-exorcist, but I wanted to lean into the imagery. She and Charlie look a little too close to human in comparison to almost anyone else, so I wanted to give her some moth-isms. And I find it more believable that she could fight like this! Ik Alastor's the hotel's protector and all, but old habits die hard n such.

Onto Angel Dust! Okay, I gotta say, I should lower his colors general brightness-

But other than that, I think I did pretty good with him!

I am probably in the minority who thought the eyes thing in episode four was pretty cool, but I wanted to make him more visibly spider-like, and eyes seemed like a good place to start.

I will admit to taking inspiration from the iron spider suit in Avengers: Infinity War for his extra arms. I was a Marvel kid, the legends are true.

Also, PINCERS! I think that's what those are called- They're only sorta there because any other way I tried ended with messing up his general face, but the thought's there!

I did forget his spider ass, but it's there in spirit, trust.

BIG OL' SHOUT OUT TO OZ FOR HELPING ME WITH THE DEER MAN'S FACE. He was giving me a TIME-

His fuck-ass bob is NO MORE. I rest my case. Also the monocle was annoying me, so he gets old lady glasses. I don't know why his shoes look like deer hooves. he's a little fucked up anatomy-wise.

I don't have much to say about him, but I loved drawing his hair. He gets to keep some of his red, because he WOULD. I also have a design of Alastor with a coat/jacket thing that's more time-period accurate, but I really liked this design, so it's what you're getting unless someone asks for it.

I also don't have a lot to say about Husk- I took away a lot more than I added if we're being real.

He's also short and fat now, so... YEAH (for a while I thought he was real short, but that was only because I kept seeing screen caps of him next to Angel, and the guy's a beanpole-)

His wings resemble the succubi in Helluva more so now, because Hazbin has a weird relationship with wings, so I wanted to make the distinction clearer than it is in canon.

His eyes glow now because have you SEEN a cat in pitch black, dead of night? Scary little assholes. (/aff, I love my cats.) He's dead and in hell, so they glow perpetually.

As with Charlie, I had no idea Niffty was supposed to be a bug. This seems to be a recurring issue.

I shifted her hair and outfit to be a lil more 1950s-accurate, but it was pretty good before, all things considered. I actually like Niffty's Canon design a lot.

In terms of making the bug-ness more pronounces, I gave her antennae (they can glow because YES) and wings. I imagine the wings are kind of like grasshopper wings, so they make a lil weird noise. I also gave her four legs, because if there's one thing I know about bugs, they have an abnormal amount of appendages.

- Hui “hatched” a few years later than MK, ending up homeless on the Megapolis streets soon after. most of her childhood was spent in the alleyways so she had to learn how to defend herself early, discovering her powers before she came into contact with Macaque. however, she had no idea how to properly control them

- after Macaque took her in, he taught her combat skills and how to control and use her powers. Along with that, he also taught them the art of shadow plays, and they were like “woahhhhh cool! this is going to be my motif for forever now!!!!” and Macaque was like “what” and then they started using their shadows as puppet strings to fling stuff into walls & control people’s movements on the regular

- yes he can see through that blindfold. no there is not a lore reason for him wearing it. he just thinks it’s fun

- when MK was training under Macaque he was constantly asking Hui questions abt it. he kept trying to talk to her but she wouldn’t budge at all because she knew what the end goal of all of this was, and even if it would be satisfying to watch his smile fade as he realizes a “friend” was in on the plot all along, they didn’t wanna bother. also bc they were a liiiiiittle jealous of MK. just a little

- Macaque is the only one Hui can properly open up to

- her puppeteer motif and identity, of course, caused very interesting showings of The Hero and the Warrior before MK started showing up and she decided to move backstage to make sure MK did not notice the Extremely Obvious And Identifying Magic Use that came from her assisting in the plays

- after Mayor comes in contact with Macaque, she starts panicking. she knew the bone demon would find him eventually but she didn’t expect it to be this soon—

- needless to say, she seeks out MK because they know he’s one of the few people who are aware of her existence. he of course is wary of her due to his past run-in(s) with Macaque and Hui. however he does agree to train with her at least once because a sparring partner would do her a world of good and also because he’s secretly relieved he’s not the only one who knows about LBD anymore

- said training session was the one in the s2 finale. oops! she’s being dragged along to save the world now. she feels so out of place (bc maybe she is. she has never been the hero type, too selfish and apathetic to even fit the bill for being a hero. it’s not worth trying to fit in with them.) that they basically hole themselves up in a spare room on the plane jet thingymabob until they crash underwater and have a heart to heart w/ MK in the prison cell

- she eventually gets more comfortable around them, but not comfortable enough to spill his guts obviously. he still does not trust them, and they feel like the others share the same sentiment. it’s not like they would spill their guts to anyone anyways. hiding behind a mask yippiiiiiie!

- regularly denies that Macaque is a parental figure for her. she is lying to herself. Hui pls get your shit together

- they get more comfortable with using their monkie form full time over the course of s3. its actually way more comfy for them compared to their stuffy human form

- s3 shenanigans. they’re so done with everyone here

- unfortunately for him, said s3 shenanigans had dragged him into the Main Character Friendgroup. woe is the one who gets found familied

- also unfortunately for him, being dragged into the Main Character Friendgroup had caused them to be thrown into the ink scroll alongside Mei and MK because MK contacted Hui thinking he’d know something about what happened. they did not, in fact, know

- Hui is rivals with one of my other ocs, RC (full name Realm Chaser). they’re a “demon” who has the power to travel across realms by will and teleport (they’re not a demon, they’re actually a Realm Hopper, which is a species that my friend @starboundsingularities created!!!!! this is only scratching the surface of the realm hopper/watcher (not mcyt watchers) lore he came up with but i’m not explaining it here bc itll be like 5 blocks of text and it’s not my concept to begin with, i just borrowed it for RC)

- ADORES Bai He. Hui had never been great with kids, but when she ran up to him and Macaque shortly after being unpossessed begging for self defense lessons because their powers and fighting skills were so cool and she wanted to know how to do that, how to protect herself, Hui decided that maybe it would be worth trying to be good with kids, just this once

charlie’s girlfriend and the security for the hotel! she was one of the ‘worst’ exorcists, usually letting demons go due to the fact she couldn’t bare to take another person’s life. but she slipped far too many times and was backstabbed by her colleague and left to rot in a alleyway, after a few weeks of scavenging and hiding she met charlie and the rest is history!

anyways design notes. apparently she was supposed to be a moth?? which is very confusing because i feel like the only aspect of that is her hair?? also why couldn’t her wings just be like moth wings… also i don’t think she should be thin, give that girl some muscle GOD!!!

Raziel/Angel

his name is just angel now… also i’m not sure if it’s obvious but he’s supposed to have a implied moustache, one quick thing why does he only have a spiderbutt in poison? cmon it’d just make him a little bit more obvious that he’s a spider, that and the multiple eyes. also i like to imagine he wears dresses from time to time. MY BOY IS ALLOWED TO HAVE COOL OUTFITS. (also sorry that his design is so complicated, i give a character fur patterns and go wild)

Redesigning/Reimagining Hazbin's Characters-1 (Charlie)

I tried y'all, I really did, but I didn't have much to work with. Sorry about the cut off, the shoes did not go as planned.

So- How'd I do? Tell me your thoughts!

(I'll go in depth under the cut)

Okay, so, where to begin..

Well, first, I'll start by stating the obvious.

I don't like Charlie's design. If you like it, fair enough, but it's just not working for me.

There's thr usual problem of- you guessed it- Too. Much. Red.

Red eyes, red background, red details, red clothing, red cheeks, red Bang style, red under sleeves (even though the shirt is supposedly White when you look at the chest area, but then you see around her wrist and it's a dark red for no reason. I'm willing to bet that the animators just forgot which color goes where because the color palette is just red, pink, white, and black. Over and over again.

Next: I get that she's supposed to be bubbly, and happy-go-lucky, all that stuff. But to be honest, I feel like it would be more interesting if she actually wasn't that nice.

I feel like one thing that would be fascinating is the idea that she wants to help people, but she's out of touch. She's one of the most powerful things in Hell after all. She doesn't understand the point of the lower class People. Plus, she's never been out of hell, she doesn't know what Earth is like, or what heaven is like.

I feel like a version of her where she is trying to do good, but is ruthless or harsh in the way she does it, could both be entertaining- and provide character devolopement as she learns how nuanced proper care is.

Also, if she's the second / third most powerful thing in hell, she shouldn't be scared of Alastor. I don't mean that he can't be in the series or anything, I feel like there would still be plenty of uses for him. But with her being a high class royal, and as powerful as she is, she shouldn't need to rely on him for his power or his money for that matter.

I understand the idea that maybe Lucifer Cut Her Off from funding because he basically disowned her or whatever, so maybe funding could be an issue, but even so, she should not be afraid of Alastor.

I like the idea that she intimidated people into going into her hotel so she could "fix" them, not realizing that the fear of her wrath is the only thing keeping people there.

Or maybe the whole hotel thing could be an act of defiance against her father fitting, as "history repeats itself" (referencing Lucifer's defiance of God in biblical lore)

Perhaps she does good things, but isn't all that nice to begin with. But she attempts to be friendly and relatable without understanding how to ACTUALLY relate to or approach others.

How does all of this tie into my design of her?

A few things:

1. Viv said at some point that Charlie was meant to look like a porcelain doll, which... She doesn't look like at all. (I do like her new ponytail. But other than that I don't like the design.)

To me, she just looks like Ellen DeGeneres with long hair and clown makeup.

So, I made her more doll-like. But it wasn't enough. It was too simple.

Then, it hit me: in a lot of movies with demons or ghosts, oftentimes a doll gets possessed by said demon/ghost.

I'm not even afraid of dolls personally, but I know a lot of people who are

So What if, Charlie did the same? Maybe her true form is something really scary, so in an attempt to come across as more approachable, she has some sort of doll-like shell? (But, unbeknownst to her, most people are very afraid of dolls. So it does very little to actually help. I think that's some decent comedy potential.

Plus, imagine her having stiff or janky movements, like she doesn't actually fit that well in her body.

2. The horns.

I actually kind of liked her weird demonic form, at least I liked the horns and the moving hair, but since I decided not to give her a crown, I gave her those weird 4 horns with decorative string tied between them, as a way to make it appear *similar* to a crown. Plus as a reference to the whole 'demonic' thing

I kind of used Sofia from "Harmony and Horror" as a reference. (Btw, great analogue horror series on YouTube, highly recommend it)

3. I did make Charlie's hair a bit darker, but just a little. That was in reference to part of Lucifer's lore, which said that when he fell from heaven, not only did his feathery angel wings burn away into bat wings, but his once golden hair burned into a dark red. So I decided that for Charlie, her hair is darker, but since she's trying to do good, it turns lighter.

But yeah, I'm honestly not sure about her outfit, I'm probably going to experiment with that in the future. But overall I'm okay with how this turned out.

Charlotte "Charlie" Morningstar redesign

Charlotte Morningstar was the first ‘Alive’ child of Lilith and Lucifer Morningstar born in 1830. She was the first child they could have after Lilith's 100 still-born children and because of that she was protected very much in her Mansion in Pride ring. Throughout her life she was Sheltered both at her mansion and in her daily life; for example she wasn't able to go out into Pride very much, hell she was more accustomed to the other rings rather than her own.

It has been like the for the next 170 years until charlie had soon learned about the the exterminations one day as she home in pride; she saw plenty of scary looking angels coming down from the sky and kill the sinners; she was shocked and confronted her parents on this and there was a nasty spat between them it ended with charlie crying in her room accompanying her was her fathers assistant snake Milu.

For the next 19 years she has been trying to avoid her parents so much the only one who she could tolerate was her Mother Lilith but that had a limit around 2017 her mother left, she didn't know if it was a divorce, a separation or anything else but she was gone. Only now it was Lucifer, Charlie and Milu.

And in that 19 years charlie has been hatching a plan to research about the sinners, she believes that none of them deserve the second death and that they should be given a second chance; so she studies, research and plan to make a place to help rehabilitate these people. Five years ago she decided to leave the mansion after a rather intense argument with only three bags worth of items and a few million hellbucks shes been saving up to leave, and one angel demon she decided to leave her mansion and move into a deserted hotel. With her and Aggie she decided to make this hotel into a rehabilitation center to help sinner who want to become better people, with her first guest the Pornstar Angeldust and a benefactor being the Radio demon she ready for the future.(Slightly vague but their will be more details in the future so dont worry)

Changes in her designs:

-I do enjoy Charlies OG Design a lot , but some faults i think the og has is that the suit should have been a different color then the red she wears mainly due to that color being in nearly every single design for the characters she should at least stand out with a different colored suit like gold.

-she has Pink hair in this version because its meant to be a mix of her dads (light blonde) and her mothers (Pink red), and her hair resembles a mix of Rapunzel from tangled and Fiona from Shrek.

-I gave her a golden suit rather then a red one to stand out amongst her sinners to show that she's different from them.

-And I gave her a skirt instead of pants cause all the girl bosses need one

-while she doesn't have hooves I made her boots hooves inspired.

-Horns because she using 10 percent of her own power

-Gloves for professional-ism

-She has fangs and pointy ears to show more of her demon form(Also no cheek-marks cause I didn't like them)

10 Facts:

-Her birth year is a reference to her first ever beta design dying around 1830s and in the time of writing this she's currently 194 years old.

-She still Bisexual even in this AU/rewrite and we will mention some of her past lovers in this au :3

-She's currently using 10 percent of her own demonic power in her current design meant to show that she wants to be shown as professional and make sure that she has enough power to protect herself and the hotel if something goes awry.

-She's been studying psychology in the past 10 years to try to understand the sinners so that she can use the knowledge that she can to help the sinners and understand their issues but she still has that rather naive/parental thing to her while she does try to be kind and caring it almost comes off as condescending to the other guests

-Went to her education for the most part in a elite private school for higher up demons in the envy ring for k-12.

-After she had left home the only things she took where three bags worth of her items and about 2.5 million hell-bucks and decided to that she would want to try do things on her own.

-her relationship with her parents is a complex situation, she adores her mothers and her relationship with her father is rather rocky and complicated, due to an event when she was little she wanted to stay away from her father and after 10 ish years she slowly wanted to reconnect with him, and as they were slowly working on it she found out about the exterminations which made their relatiosnhip even harder and then their was the fight that made her leave.

-Her favorite foods include: Frappuccino's, Hells deep dish-Pizza, strawberry shortcake, and Pink Lemonade Alcohol.

-She's 6'0 (182.88 cm)

-She would be still be voiced by Erika Henningsen.

Fun Facts and Headcanons for my Oc's

So I shared a little of my newest redesigns for Eris and Lovebomb but no funfacts. I am unsure if their facts will be in this post but I am doing my main boy first for obvious reasons. So let's start with my current obsession. My boy Lucius Morningstar, Twin brother of the bubbly optimistic Charlotte Morningstar. ---- Fun Facts: 1. Lucius use to be equally as optimistic as Charlie, wanting to see the best in everyone regardless of why they ended up in hell and sadly in doing that he is taken advantage of in every meaningful way possible. 2. He has a rather huge overprotective nature when it comes to Charlie, he has his reasons aside from being a good big brother. He just doesn't want her to go through what he did, and with their parents disappearing let's say they both have some clear abandonment issues they don't want to delve into. 3. Lucius has made it his mission to make sure no one hurts his sister, he basically made it his whole purpose which wasn't entirely his fault when he was encouraged by more so his dad then anyone else to always protect his sister. 4. His relationship with both parents is honestly lacking, he cares very little for his father and his mom isn't any higher on the list. In his eyes they abandoned both of them, in turn hurting Charlie which he has a hard time forgiving even though Charlie herself already has in a sense.

5. He has had a string of really bad relationships. He has a hard time when it comes to commitment and it gets worse after he loses the first one he genuinely began to love. 6. Lucius loses a lot of trust in most sinners after not only losing so many of his "friends" to the extermination but later finding out they didn't care for him as much as he cared for them. They didn't want him for him but for his money, power and pull. Including the woman he fell for and ultimately lost due to said extermiations. 7. His only remaining "friends" are the Carmine sisters and he's unsure if they actually do care so he keeps his distance. Their friendship is slowly forming again but he still finds himself uncertain. Especially when feelings come into play for one of said sisters. He does not want a repeat of last time. 8. He has nearly thrown his father through a wall upon being told that sinners will die regardless and he should have known better. His father telling him this mere weeks after losing his first love. So yeah he may have overreacted just a touch. 9. He was planned to be leaving the pride ring all together and setting up shop in the greed ring becoming a circus ringleader under control of Mammon. Mammon does take advantage of Lucius's greed and pumps him full of "happy pills" to help keep him in line. This was my original take on Lucius, but that changed. 10. Charlie is the reason Lucius was able to snap out of his manic depression, knowing he still had her and his will to protect his sister was still there. So he made that his mission never truly leaving his demon form since that night. He has to this day still tries to look out for his siter although it's become a bit more difficult since Vaggie came along. Vaggie and him aren't exactly friends but both have similar goals when it comes to Charlie. Keep her safe but that doesn't mean they're friends. Not by a long shot, they do get closer though as time goes by. 11. He clearly has no like towards heaven or the angel community as a whole, especially the Exorcists. So you can only imagine his surprise when he realizes Vaggie was one of them. His reaction would surprise you though. 12. His current love interest is Clara Carmine although he's unsure if she feels the same and is far too afraid to take that step in fear of history repeating itself, that and he's unsure if Clara is just friends for the sake of benefit or because she genuinely wants to be. She has said that she wants them to be friends but he still isn't entirely certain. His mixed signals also tend to hurt her more then he realizes. 13. Lucius use to sing much like Charlie but he doesn't do it anymore. He doesn't like to say why but Charlie is aware and despite trying to be positive, she's never really forced him to continue. The two did sing often and they'd be lying to say they didn't miss it.

chatting about my chaggie rewrite and reblogging those really bomb redesigns has me wanting to talk about how *i* imagine the hazbins :] so here's that! i'm a writer, not an artist, so a lot of this is just going to be about what the design elements *communicate*...

Charlie: First, i'm giving her a warm, tawny skin tone - because A) the porcelain white is not good for her color scheme, B) i have to do SOMETHING to fling my lilith design as far away as possible from canon's 'lucifer with extensions' approach, C) we have so tragically few fictional black girls who get to be genuine rays of sunshine, yknow?

Second, she's a chimera! (lion/goat/snake creature, if you aren't familiar). She's doing a lot to round the edges off that, though. Her hooves and ears are in full view, but they can easily pass for a lamb's. Her tail is a cornsnake wearing a bow tie. You'd never know her blonde was actually a mane unless she told you, and her nose could basically be a puppy's, and she always smiles with her lips closed tight over her fangs. (Her demonic form, unlike canon's anime princess, is massive, fully quadrupedal, and terrifying. But that would only show up if she had *problems*, so it won't, because she doesn't have any! She's fine!!!!!)

As for the suit, I'd bring back the pilot's black slacks/red jacket combo, just much more maroon like Vaggie's new outfit. That's the hotel uniform color scheme now! Oh, and I'm lopping off basically all her hair except the swoopy bangs. She has a delicate, Disney Prince sort of masculinity I think we should appreciate.

Vaggie: I imagine basically all these guys less skinny than canon, but I'm only going to mention it for the ones who actually aren't thin anymore. (Why and how is this woman both a solider and supposedly bottom-heavy and yet still a bag of bones. Tragic. How is she gonna sit on Charlie's face like that, Vivianne).

She's also apparently supposed to be moth-themed, but between the aquiline nose, the stripes at the edges of her hair, her occupation, and her LITERAL FEATHERED WINGS...she's always seemed a bird of prey to me. I already mentioned I liked her canon outfit, so that's staying pretty much identical aside from her choppy exorcist-era bob. Her eye has yellow sclera, sharp pupils, and rough orange irises without clearly-defined edges. No floating X, but you can see the strap of her eyepatch across her forehead.

Alastor: Completely sepia-toned, aside from his yellow teeth and glasses. Crucially, this makes him the *only* main cast member without any red in their design. (Unless he were to open his mouth or show his eyes, but that's about as likely as him cursing. That is to say: when the sky itself falls down!)

Speaks through the radio staff he carries around (and any other nearby radios he can and will commandeer...for drama), NEVER through his mouth. White woman bob sent to a different, worse hell, in exchange for a period-accurate 'do. Maybe some facial hair if he can pull it off. Hooves no longer hidden by shoes; ears actually recognizably deerlike and on the sides of his head. No voodoo stuff, just the simple terror of an eldritch being with a transatlantic accent.

Nifty: Bright, orangey-peach skin tone (Again, the stark white is not doing these gals any favors - just leave that arena to Rosie, please). Kitschy alien antennae curled into a little heart; four curved buggy little legs set kitty-corner to each other. She skitters! Threateningly!!! Her bob is black and curled properly at the ends instead of scruffy, and her eye is lime-jello green. Her uniform is similar to Vaggie's but with a bigger skirt, and a white pinafore apron (concerning spots included) overtop.

Husk: "Fat cat" is LITERALLY slang for the EXACT kind of guy he was, why the HELL wouldn't they - it's fine. It's fine. I'm not seething I swear. Anyway my mans is heavyset but NOT curvy, his shoulders are level with his ankles. Absolute cinderblock. Normal tail and no wings, but his eyebrows are visibly just large feathers so it's not much of a surprise when they show up in his demonic form. Pretty disheveled; he's got on black slacks and red suspenders but his shirt is too far unbuttoned and has like eight stains.

Angel: I am sorry stans of the hey arnold football head but I gotta separate his hair out from his cheek fuzz. I gotta. It's okay because the newfound depth makes room for mandibles <3 Oh and I'm making both the sclera of his main eyes black. It just looks nicer to me.

I dare not touch the iconic boots; but I am extending his miniskirt into a dress and giving him a different coat. Bright red and fur lined! (With slits for his second arms ofc). This A) brings him more in line with the main cast color scheme, B) visually links him to Valentino, and C) means we can give him that big fur train from Poison that visually mimics a spider abdomen without altering his heroin-chic body type.
