I hate,especially in the pjo fandom, when people cut characters down to 1 trait. Sometimes it's a trait that isn't even one they have!

Like Percy, Will and Leo being seen as dumb erks me to no end. Especially Leo.

I know they're incorrect quotes but I saw one where they used the "7x7" "stuff she knows!" audio with leo and I'm just-

He knew collage level math at 8!!! What you mean he wouldn't know 7x7.

He could probably recite 100+ digits of pi. He built a whole ship!!

Same with Percy and Will. Like Percy is not dumb, he's just someone who thinks on his feet and isn't book smart like Annabeth.

Will runs an infirmary and cabin by himself by 13. He immediately finds a way to check on Nico's condition and chides him for risking his health. He's working with no weapon as a field medic, he has to be smart enough to avoid attacks.

Nico isn't just the emo sad kid. He is quick to make friends with those people tend to be wary of. He's just getting use to people again after being on his own for so long.

Jason isn't just some boring/ lesser version of Percy. He has a detailed past and motives even without most of his memories.

Michael isn't just attitude and starting fights. The only fellow camper he actually fights with is Clarisse and he's pretty chill for the rest of the book other then just being sassy sometimes. He's usually just matching energy.

Stolls aren't all stupid either, they were 12-13 when they became hcs of the largest cabin at a camp. A cabin, mind you, that was recently ran by a 19-almost 20 year old. They're poster children for younger siblings suddenly forced to mature.

Maybe it's just me and my love for psychoanalyizing characters, but really like most people forget how 3 dimensional these characters are.

Do not get me started on characters like Drew and Octavian or how many of y'all forget Annabeth(and every demigod other than frank) also is dyslexic and not just the ones the fandom deems as "dumb".

annabeth has so much love to give. i think she's the kind of person who's always a little in love with all of her friends like. she doesn't know how to cook, but she spends all saturday with sally trying to learn the recipes of all of percy's favorite dishes and has an entire notebook dedicated for all of the little facts that she notices about percy, from big things like "today percy stayed up with estelle all night because she's sick, because he said "she might be lonely". reminder to do that when he's sick too" to small things like "he scrunches up his nose when he's worried" or "he wants to become a teacher someday". annabeth only got to spend one birthday with thalia before she died so now she makes it a point to be there for all of her birthdays and makes the most elaborate handmade gift to ever exist. she's dyslexic and can barely spell but she writes lines and lines of poetry about the way piper smiles and how her hair curls into little hearts the same way aphrodite's does. every time she sees frank she actually Has to hug like like it's an absolute necessity at this point and they have meetings at a small café in new rome every friday at 2 o'clock where they try to solve a 10,000 piece puzzle in a span of 4 hours and talking about everything and nothing. one time when she and connor were drunk they decided to get matching tattoos of each other's initials and when they woke up in the morning percy couldn't stop laughing at it but annabeth can't find it in herself to be embarrassed (it's also one of her absolute favorite stories to tell). she cannot for the life of her figure out how to keep a plant alive but she can and Will talk to the sunflowers and strawberries katie grows very very seriously like they're actual real people because she knows how important they are to katie. every single kid at camp lovs her because she gives the best hugs and her hair always smells like lemons and she has always has candies in her pockets for them. on silena's birthday she and clarisse go on a road trip, just the two of them to a cliff overseeing the sea because it used to be silena's favorite place and they just sit there doing nothing, and annabeth grows familiar with the feeling of clarisse's hand in hers. annabeth who always has a smile for everyone. annabeth who gives the best hugs. annabeth who loves so much

With Percy, we know that he hates going to school and his goals don’t really line up with Annabeth’s, but Annabeth is kind of forcing him to do it with her because he can’t say no to her. Say Rick didn’t make Annabeth Percy’s entire personality, what do you think he would’ve done in the mortal world rather than go to university?

I was checking my drafts cause I am trying to catch up on all the asks in my inbox ( as I said in one of my earlier posts I was in middle of a medical situation so I have at least a month of backlog) and found this draft.

The funny thing is I had already written most of the post in the draft version, and this ask wasn't even being displayed in my inbox, so I was very confused as to when it was from.

But it's such a good prompt and a sort of controversial question in the fandom, so I wanted to post it asap.

Percy doesn't like studies, but he knows the importance of it, so I am sure he will finish his initial college, probably either in the science or arts section. We know at one point he got better grades than Annabeth at one point so he certainly isn't quitting studies and doing way better than what people expect. He also wouldn't like just staying at home and doing nothing (I am looking at certain Percabeth stans here), so he definitely would be doing one job or another.

I don't think he would study marine biology like most believe. After a conversation I had with someone who had taken the course, I am convinced Percy wouldn't like it. It's heavily based on chemistry, and we know how much Percy is affected by sea creatures being mistreated or caged, so having to study marine biology wouldn't really be something he would choose.

An interesting twist would be if he chose to be a writer like his mother.

We all know that Percy writes or at least dictates and narrates the first five books, which are written and narrated entirely from his perspective. Moreover, there are books on Percy just narrating his own sarcastic takes on Greek gods and Greek heroes. What if he did actually catalogue his own adventures in those books as a sort of manual for other demigods on how to deal with certain monsters and gods and such.

Through Percy's thoughts, even as 12 years old, we can certainly say he has advanced vocabulary despite being dyslexic and given how much he admires Sally, why wouldn't he be interested in following her footsteps. Sure, he has trouble reading, but that's not to say he wouldn't love expressing his thoughts through humorous retelling of his own adventures which he can pass as fiction to normal readers but actual experiences in demigod world. Who doesn't want to know the exploits of Percy Jackson?

Plus, it's a good money hack. And don't for a second tell me he wouldn't. Sally petrified Gabe, and then they sold his statute to a museum as a sculpture and earned money off of that. So Sally would definitely encourage it, and Percy would even follow through on it just for shits and giggles and the added benefit of helping demigods and earning money.

[I literally want this to happen just for the Godly reactions. I am all for god slander, especially Zeus slander. Poseidon would be half laughing at the book and half worried cause of the sheer catastrophes his son seems to fall into almost on a daily basis.

Apollo would be having a grand time, and Hermes will be half depressed and half impressed throughout. Overall, it would be hilarious all around, and it might finally make the gods feel a bit more accountable . It's literally the Reading Percy Jackson Series trope, and that's always fun.]

One other option is that Percy will get into environmental preservation, specifically the protection of Rivers and Seas from pollution by actively involving himself and others in its cleanliness and purification. He would also run Beach cleanliness programs.

I think he and Grover would become environmental activists and would definitely get into preserving forest areas and other places where nature spirits dwell frequently. I can see them doing it a lot, long-term wise, too.

I think he would kind of like marine explorations, but that might cause his powers to be somewhat exposed, so he might not do that, but it's a possibility.

That's all I can think of. I would like to hear everyone else's opinions on this.

Okay so, hear me out here: Heroes of Olympus, Murder Mystery AU. There is a suicide case that happens at Mt. Olympus (Which is the name of the school), though the evidence is lacking that its a suicide case. Now star our main characters! First and Foremost, Percy Jackson: Our resident skater boy and also co-captain of the swimming club (Partially because he didn't wanna be captain, partially because he almost got expelled multiple times) When he had been in the stands of the body, he saw many irregular bruises and cuts lining the body, and he is quite suspicious... Now, Annabeth Chase: Student council member, C grades because you guys forget she is dyslexic, and ADHD, and overall, kind of a geek in terms of architecture (Ifktyk) and high school sweethearts with Percy. The first person Percy confided in about catching the detail and she kept a journal with that information. Then, Frank Zhang: Okay so, a resident of the biology club (wink wink) and overall just a nice guy you could go to for support and guidance. Frank knew the person who died and he knew they were depressed as he talked to them but suicide was quite unusual which caused suspicion. Hazel Levesque: Now, I cannot stand Fanon Hazel so I will try to be as realistic as I can. When she first joined, everyone thought she was the innocent one and the fact she came to the high school younger added. Until she cursed a teacher out for being racist and stuck a pencil in another persons eye as they called Frank a slur. Hazel thought the way the school dismissed the suicide was quite suspicious so she confessed to Frank which gave her more information. Leo Valdez: Leo Valdez is as expected, Class clown, acts dumb even though he gets the highest grades in Math and good grades in physics (Yeah, Canon Leo did calculus when he was EIGHT, so suck it), he is the brains of the whole operation (With Annabeth) Piper McLean: Homecoming Queen, Best Friends (?? Debatably Platonic) with Leo and Jason, good reputation because of her (cough cough manipulation) skills, tried cheerleading, hated it, and joined self defense classes, and overall the voice of the operation. Jason Grace: Now last but definitely not least (He's my pookie <3) Now, The skipper (Captain) of the football team, quite popular, the person who died was in the football team and confided to him about something VERY useful, the glue of the group Nico Di Angelo: Information smuggler. His dad owns the funeral and morgue service the body was taken to and smuggled the information to the 7, we are also following Solangelo because I couldn't resist! RARA: Reyna will be our messenger. She will indirectly help the 7 with the information smuggling. My thoughts on Percy Jackson as someone who is reading it for the first time (i’m on the Last Olympian) spoilers ahead!!!

- Past Nico would absolutely lose it meeting Present Nico. He’d be like strong emo boy? I lov him.

- Clarisse and Thalia have kissed at some point. They never spoke of it again.

- I love Sally Jackson. I’m waiting for her to have a seen where she grabs a sword and just cuts down a mf for her son. stab Kronos in the foot Sally! You got it bbg!

anyway here's my rant:

despite her comment in son, hazel doesn't have much adhd/dyslexia coding. her treatment at st agnes has more to do w being a black girl in the 1930's and her powers/curse than her possible adhd/dyslexia, considering she never mentions any symptoms specific to adhd or dyslexia in her backstory. the closest things are her interest in horses, which could be considered a hyper-fixation, and her flashbacks, which could be argued as daydreaming associated w inattentive adhd. furthermore, her powers could easily be used as a commentary on masking similar to the general attitude towards her vs other dead ppl (she looks alive, so she deserves to be alive, unlike all these other ppl who went thru the doors of death). overall, interesting set up, not expanded upon in canon.

similarly, the only time piper is ever implied to have adhd is in that boo scene, which doesn't hold much weight bc it's a general statement in an impersonal pov (as opposed to "piper was only able to keep track bc of her adhd/demigod abilities," still in third person pov, but a more personalized statement). this post began as a quest to answer the question "how does piper's adhd manifest," and the answer is "uhhhhhhhhhhh."

continuing w the trend, jason is never implied to have adhd or dyslexia at all. would have been interesting to see, considering jason has the whole gifted-kid-burn-out thing going on, but alas.

i'm not including the statement annabeth makes abt demigods typically having one or both and hazel's statement abt "just being a demigod," bc it's also established that it's not a requirement. the fandom wiki claims frank is the only demigod to not have adhd: if "just being a demigod" means that every demigod has adhd/dyslexia, then frank, inarguably, has adhd/dyslexia, as well.

more importantly, in a story where adhd and dyslexia are explicitly addressed and considered the cornerstone of the world building, i need it to be explicitly said that a character has adhd/dyslexia in order to give credit to canon (my personal hcs are a different story).

so, it seems like leo is the only one out of the lost trio w adhd or dyslexia, and it's only adhd. he frequently references things he's reading and shows no issue doing so, given that it's in a language he understands.

interestingly, leo claims "he couldn’t read ancient greek" in hoh, so it could be that the ease w learning ancient greek (and potentially latin) is exclusive to those w dyslexia. however, this has been as inconsistent as the actual dedication to giving demigods adhd and/or dyslexia. for example, chiron says the ability is "in their blood" in tlh w no mention of dyslexia, but in tlt annabeth says percy has dyslexia bc "[his] mind is hardwired for ancient greek."

the only character to bring up how dyslexia affects them in hoo is percy, making it seem like his dyslexia is much worse than annabeth's, the only other character who we know is dyslexic (from pjo, it's never mentioned in hoo). if leo is "seriously adhd," then percy is seriously dyslexic. something to be said how they're both treated as comic relief in fandom, considering.

frank not being diagnosed despite his dyspraxia coding could be used as a commentary on medical racism and the model minority stereotype. since frank is exclusively listed as the only demigod to not have either diagnosis and his dyspraxia coding eventually disappears, it doesn't appear that that was the intention.

moving to a more theoretical discussion, it's hard to say what is/is not definitively adhd/dyslexia symptoms, specifically using canon, considering we rarely see any of the demigods acting "normal." the majority of the time, they're on a quest/in an extreme situation. contrast w pjo, where we learn things abt percy's adhd and dyslexia while he's at school, a relatively normal situation, and then can apply it to the rest of the series. w hoo, it's almost all guesswork.

leo mentions that his adhd affects his memory, so we know that similar moments can be attributed to his adhd. but is hazel forgetting part of sciron's story a symptom of adhd or just a normal thing that happens bc forgetting things in stressful situations is normal? is jason's seemingly permanent amnesia a symptom of the memory wipe or is it exacerbated by adhd? is piper's aversion to feminine clothing and make up caused by sensory issues? we'll never know, bc they're never said to have adhd.

tyson's actor has been announced

thoughts on that? i remember you talking about tyson's down syndrome coding and the way there's a big chance of being portrayed in an ableist way

I already talked about my main thoughts on Tyson's casting [here] but in summary - yeah, no, confidence is not inspired right now. I had mentioned before that if they didn't cast an actor with down syndrome for Tyson I cannot see it going well no matter what, and given how s1 handled disability themes (aka erasing the majority of references to adhd/dyslexia and other disabilities, turning Sally into an autism speaks mom, etc) I doubt they're going to reference Tyson's down syndrome coding at all, which is disappointing on multiple levels.

A.) His entire character and the arcs relating to his character, particularly his relationship with Percy and Percy's character development in SoM are ALL surrounding Tyson having down syndrome and themes of grappling with ableism. SoM is supposed to be where we solidly establish Percy as a character who stands up for other marginalized kids, particularly other disabled kids, and if you remove Tyson's down syndrome then that entire aspect of the story goes up in smoke - which is a problem because disability themes are central and core to the entire series. You can't remove them without ruining the basis of the entire plot, because it's disability metaphors all the way down. If by some miracle they do try to keep his disability coding, the casting right now at all levels point to it turning out horribly - firstly they've cast an abled actor to play a disabled character - not cool! Especially given down syndrome is not usually an invisible disability - like I give leeway to adhd/dyslexic casting because it really doesn't affect anything at all. It'd be nice but ultimately nothing is different really - But something like this is significantly more important. Secondly, because we know from the casting call that they're keeping the "Tyson is 'actually' a little kid" (< actually part of his down syndrome coding - it's an outdated medical concept from the 2000s which is very ableist so already not looking great that they kept that) them casting a nearly 30 year old for a character who is supposed to be in Percy's grade (Percy being 13) just sounds like a horrible set-up for a very ableist portrayal.

B.) Based on how s1 went, recent books in the franchise, and this casting, the more likely route is they're going to erase Tyson's disability coding entirely and likely replace it with Tyson being a "himbo" character. I was talking with the TA server about this and apparently according to some of them Daniel Diemer in The Half Of It very much gave off the vibe that with his Tyson casting they're going to go the "himbo" route. Which would make sense given in like TOA, TSATS, and CoTG it seems like Rick learned what a "himbo" is and has been trying to shoehorn that character archetype into everything. Also in recent books Rick has just completely started erasing or ignoring disability themes, including applying ableist tropes to characters instead (Percy being a goofy lazy idiot who dislikes school, Nico being infantilized, Annabeth's disabilities basically being entirely erased, etc etc). Suffice to say it's not looking good I'm not happy about it! :T

Like, in all, I'm sure Daniel Diemer is a great actor. I'm not accusing him of being ableist or anything. (Now, Disney? maybe.) But I am really disappointed in this casting and there is literally no way Disney can justify it. Like, what, "he's tall and Tyson is supposed to be tall?" Character height has literally never been a factor for any other casting and it absolutely is not relevant at all for Tyson. The majority of casting so far has been blind casting (save for age for the most part) - why is it suddenly so important now for Tyson's height of all things? When there are SIGNIFICANTLY more important aspects of his character to be casting for? So far it seems the only casting they've actually paid attention to disability with is Hephaestus with Timothy Omundson, which is nice, but one out of A Lot is not great given this is the disability series! We really should not be getting this many abled actors playing disabled characters (and DEFINITELY not be getting this much erasure of disabled and disable-coded characters - Grover's muscular disease, lack of references to adhd/dyslexia, erasure of Percy's PTSD, etc. Chiron's disability being brought from coding to explicit is nice, but they couldn't be bothered to actually cast a disabled actor for it too? Honestly I wouldn't even mind some of the abled casting as much if they actually bothered to acknowledge the disability themes at all!). And this is a trend so far because Disney has also completely neglected casting plus-sized actors for plus-sized characters in the series (INCLUDING TYSON). It generally just reeks of Disney being afraid to cast anybody but able-bodied skinny actors as much as possible, or at the very least being completely unwilling to touch upon the disability themes of the series - which is stupid, given it's the entire basis of the series.

tl;dr: I have exactly zero faith in s2.

A/N: back on the fan fic grind. This isn’t based on any song just a thought. Requests are open but I might not get to them. The writing might be bad and short because I’m in the car and not a great writer anyway.

Scrambling up a tree wasn’t your idea of a good time but you were on cabin 6’s side for capture the flag and annabeth gave you orders so you obviously followed them. It wasn’t your fault that she was scary when she was mad. It also wasn’t your fault that you boyfriend, Leo, was on cabins 5’s side. That was thanks to Will who decided being on his boyfriends side was more important than being on your boyfriends side. Stupid will.

Anyway, your task was to find Leo and figure out how to turn his traps off because if he caught you he’d probably just let you run free. You’d been trying to get him to spill the beans all week by asking him to tell you about his designs and sneaking into bunker nine to look at his blueprints but he hadn’t let anything slip.

After climbing through, trees with you bow in your hand and arrows on you back in case of attack, you finally found your fire boy. Watching carefully you saw him fiddling with a mettle trap though you couldn’t really see how it worked or what it did so you decided to pull a risky move.

“What’s cooking good looking?” You say with a giggle as you hang upside down from a branch. It was a good thing your shirt was tucked into your shorts or else it would’ve fell in your face. Leo instantly jumped but looked up and saw you letting out a sigh. He beamed back at you with his impish smile.

“Not much. Why you hanging there like a bat, mi sol?” He asked standing from his trap and instead moving over to you and looking at your smiling face which made his body tingle and feel so warm and comfortable he wanted to melt. He gently pressed a kiss to your forehead his hands reaching out to pull you out of the tree.

“Hey! Don’t pull me out the tree, you’re trying to trap me.” You said with a pout knowing it’d get him to do anything you wanted. You sat up and hoped down to a lower branch so you were in clear sight but not on the ground.

“Trap you? No, mi amour, I just want you in my arms.” He laughed watching you bounce down and following your movements and instantly walking over to the new branch to grin at you. “The only thing I’ll be trapping you in is my love.” He purred laughing even more at you cringing face.

“Tell me how to disable your traps and I’ll let you sweep me up in your love.” You tease back reaching a hand out to run it through his messy curls which you always offer to help fix. Leo tilted his head into your touch and let out a hum.

“Oh I see, you’re using me but fine I’m willing to be used if I get you in the end. Plus you’ll be too trapped in my love to tell anyone my secrets.” The boy said before wrapping his arms around your waist and bringing you off the tree and down onto the ground. You both leaned down as he guided your hands and whispered the instructions on how to turn the trap on and off. so much to discuss about the idea of a new athens and number one is: is it even necessary? there are maybe 100 campers in camp halfblood. a percentage of these campers don't want to stay in camp and want to move on. if you include campers still alive who have left camp and made a life for themselves, maybe that's an additional 200-500, which is a very hard estimate to make considering the average demigod doesn't make it to 20. most would probably not want to go back as they have already started their lives elsewhere.

on the other hand, maybe, just maybe, having a place to stay with other demigods and being able to protect one another could increase the average life expectancy. lower chances of being mauled by a monster = better chance of staying alive? + better living conditions, better system to be adopted by understanding parents, maybe even better education by people trained to handle adhd and dyslexic kids, better healthcare at camp, etc. a town for demigods by demigods would definitely make it easier for demigods to live longer, but it would still take multiple generations until a whole city is formed, maybe centuries. let's remember new rome took around two centuries to become the city it is. therems also the fact that more demigods will be arriving in camp than previous generations seeing as the gods have sworn to claim all their children, and percy says at the start of the series that some demigods live their entire lives not knowing they're demigods, and also the fact that a new athens would have to accept legacies which would increase the population. the population of demigods and legacies is... very confusing.

maybe if new athens was opened for mortals with demigod children it would catch up to new rome size a few generations earlier, but then there's the issue of thalia's protective force field. would they build new athens away from camp and put more money into protective measures, or would they build it next to camp and keep the effects of the force field but ensure no one without godly lineage can enter? if i remember correctly, even new rome has doors open for SOME mortals. let's also factor in nymphs and satyrs... maybe then the population size would make building a new city justifiable.

i honestly think new athens would start as a small village. it doesn't need much more than one school, one hospital, a few restaurants, a few altars for the gods. most people who stay there have demigod children currently at camp or are satyrs and nymphs whose trees/society are near camp. it gradually grows with every new generation and only becomes a full city after percy and annabeth have passed. that doesn't change the fact that annabeth designed it. she had the city structure planned out from forever. she keeps the plans on her laptop similar to daedalus. some changes happen to accomodate to changes in day to day living annabeth couldn't have anticipated, but the design is still mostly annabeth.

My thoughts on episode 3 of PJO: (spoilers)

I so enjoyed doing this for the first two episodes and the response was great, so hey, maybe this will be an entire series thing

-The oracle was amazing. It was a perfect mix of creepy yet humorous with Percy’s perfect voice crack and “you’re a Halloween decoration” line. Having just reread the book, I wouldn’t have remembered that the prophecy came from Gabe so that was a really cool, book-accurate detail I enjoyed.

- The WAY PERCY CHOSE ANNABETH! I freaked out. Cause you know in the book Annabeth is just like “I’m coming” and that’s that. To see Percy go out of his way to CHOOSE her for his quest was so special to me and I loved it (even tho it was for a different reason than I originally thought.)

-Annabeth’s reaction to getting picked was perfect. This is a girl who has waited YEARS for a quest and in no way do I think she was expecting to be picked. Hoping, of course. But Leah’s expression of shock then excitement was perfect

-“I’m going to back the best snacks” The snacks in question being tin cans

-Bro give Thalia a break Percy, wth 😭. He came at her so hard for someone he hasn’t even met. Which was hilarious and so Percy-like, but dang. I thought Annabeth was gonna kill him right then and there.

-I loved watching Leah’s expressions the whole time the three of them were traveling to the bus terminal. I will never get over how subtle she is able to make her thoughts appear on her face. Like you could clearly tell she was taking everything in for the first time in 5 years, while still trying to remain calm and seem in control in front of the other two

-THE BICKERING OMGS. I wasn’t ready for the arguing, but it fits so well. It MADE SENSE. Like none of these kids know just how much they can trust each other and their all scared and they don’t really know what they are doing so of course they are going to fight and argue and take out their emotions on each other.

-Grover’s consensus song was perfect. I had no idea why he was clapping at first and when he started to sing I was scared because it had potential to be really cringy but I honestly think it fit his vibe and was cute.

-ok, so for the scene with Annabeth in the store, I loved of course cause it was my girl and I originally watched it as a kid with a lot of money placed in front of infinite candy and she couldn’t just pick ONE so she got them all and it was adorable. But I’ve also seen posts talking about her trying to read the wrapper and since she’s dyslexic she couldn’t tell what flavor was what so she got all of them, which would also make sense and is a perfect subtle detail. Now I just saw one post that said she was trying to pick the perfect candy to make Grover and Percy LIKE HER and that just about broke my heart. Feel free to comment or reboot with your opinions because I’ve loved seeing all these different takes on that scene. All I know is it was awesome and the contrast between a girl picking candy and immediately sensing something is wrong and putting up her guard was a perfect way of showing how life is for demigods

- again the BICKERING. Annabeth calling Percy out. Her asking what he’s afraid of. Grover trying so hard to keep the peace. (As a middle sibling, I felt that in my soul). “He was my protector first!” Loved that. Just the whole conversation was so interesting

Maybe this is just me and maybe people have already drawn to this conclusion but I really feel like we need to appreciate Annabeth as a character so much, because Annabeth is smart she's clever she's loves weeding she loves to learn she is still dyslexic, also I really think we need to appreciate why Percy Jackson was written sure Rick was doing the whole it's not a disability it's a superpower thing but also these books were written in 2005 and that was just how people would talk aboutdisabilities he made a story in which the main character is a kid with ADHD and dyslexia and it's an important part of his character not to mention this story all started because it was a bedtime story for his own child with these disabilities, rick isnot perfect Percy Jackson's not perfect but I am so happy that it exists and it's popular and that we now have a TV show making the whole series even more popular,

I truly cannot think of any other series as popular as Percy Jackson in which the main character is disabled and their disability is an important part of the character that you can't ignore or takeaway

But i want to murder whoever did lightning. Why is the only thing i can see of Annabeth her jacket and not her face? And Grover just isn't there Like it's not even racism cause half of the time you can't see Percy.

Also is it schizo rep instead of dyslexic adhd rep now? because if so, it's a very interesting stance. I.e. like it shows the problems with ableism that people with schizophrenia face. But at the same time, you know making the demigods see things that are "really" there but people don't believe them, is ... iffy

PJO HeadCanons

The day has come to publish my pjo headcanons:

The characters I mention are Will, Nico, Annabeth, Percy, Jason, Leo, Piper, Dionisio and Drew.

-Nico is blind in one eye, since he is missing this one and he has a scar that runs across his face, which is why he covers it with his bangs.

-All of Nico's clothes are small and tight and are dirty and worn.

-Nico doesn't like bathing, he's just not used to it, but he does it.

-At the time when Nico fled the camp and was looking for Bianca, he was stealing and rummaging through the trash.

-In reality, Nico is very lively and talkative, it's just that his jokes are very disturbing and people tend to stay away from him (he's probably also autistic).

- Nico loves alternative clothing and dressing up, so much so that he would be willing to wear makeup even if he hasn't yet outgrown the Social Norms from the 30s .

-Nico loves music and singing.

-Jason lost his ring finger in a battle.

-Jason is comfortable with femininity and she/they pronouns. They could be agender.

-Jason is demisexual.

-Jason has the personality of a golden retriever and is very nerdy (also Nico) with his friends, but with strangers he seems like a feared warrior and likes to follow the rules. They are also savages.

-Jason is a hunter, and follows Lupa's traditions.

-Jason could be a werewolf, and it would also be interesting if Lycaon used Jason as revenge for what his father did to him.

-Jason is pretty insecure and just wanted to be recognized for all the expectations that were placed on him.

-Annabeth limps after the war and often resorts to crutches or a cane even though it hurts her pride (she has internalized ableism).

-Percy hates college, he just doesn't want to stagnate and needs to move on.

-Percy is bisexual, but it doesn't mean he's going to be interested in any boy or emby anytime soon.

-My Will is black and he doesn't like weapons (he doesn't know how to use any either).

-Nico and Leo are Catholics.

-Leo loves his femininity. He could also be enby.

-Leo has a inferiority complex and for a while he thought that if he left no one would miss him (he also believes that he is a monster or a demon).

-Drew, Nico and Will get along great (even though Drew and Will are ex-boyfriends).

-Piper does not hate femininity but she fears it because of men and what people expect of her as she is the daughter of a famous person (indigenous women tend to be very sexualized).

-Dionisio loves his children and is a dedicated father even though he may not seem like it.

-All (or almost all) are dyslexic and ADHD, or ND.Also lgbt+, it is usually linked to being ND.
