I'm supposed to be sleeping, but I just had a horrifying realization.

I believed that my dragon kintype lived in a forest, but I've been having dreams and shifts that tell me otherwise.

I remember a cathedral, with ornate walls framed by pillars. Shiny floors, endless halls, arched doorways and windows. I remember flying between the pillars in large rooms. I remember piles of shiny things tucked safely into corners, huge communal nests in the belfry and in the tops of towers. I remember birds joining us in the tallest parts of the towers, making their tiny nests beside ours. I remember large stone balconies overlooking the sea.

The water is cold, the stones are smooth, the brush grows alongside the walls separating the balcony from the water. I remember flying over the sea and seeing boats below. I remember feeling the wind blowing through the cathedral, and standing on cool tiles as the moonlight shines through the windows.

I remember my home, I remember it. I just... don't know where it is. I can see it so clearly in my mind, but I can't put it to paper or find any pictures of it. It brings me to tears; I want to go home. I want my home, but I can't go to it. I'm trapped. I'm stuck. My wings haven't been clipped; they're gone entirely.

It's gone. It's all gone.
