Au where SVSSS has a/b/o dynamics, but so does the world Shen Yuan came from.

SY is an alpha in his last life but like never used it. And because he never used his alpha status, he grew to resent it. When he croaks and gets booted into PIDW, the system reveals he's a beta this life. And he's like "FUCK YEAH!!! I don't have to get impossibly horny just because someone smelled nice!"

He somehow ends up in Cang Qiong Mountain in the beast peak. He's living his best life, unaware that he still technically acts like an alpha. He acts aggressive if someone tries to take his stuff and he can intimidate an alpha that messes with his juniors.

The beast peak lord sees this along with his good cultivation and aptitude with beasts and says "Y'know what'd be funny?" And makes him the head disciple.

And like imagine Shen Yuan accidentally walking into another head disciple having a heat in the middle of a hunt and he brings them to Qian Cao without trouble. Like not even fazed because he can't really smell them, but everyone thinks he's just so chivalrous and has a strong grasp on his instincts.

Anyway when they ascend, its established that all the peak lords are alphas except for SQH who is an omega and MQF who is a beta. (They are all wrong)

Anyway during a Peak Lord meeting someone fucks up and reveals that they're an omega. This leads to a domino effect and everyone reveals that they're also omegas masquerading as alphas.

Now cue MQF and SQH sweating bullets and revealing that they're both alphas. And everyone is like "But Mu-shidi never smelled like one and you never reacted when one of us was in heat" and he's like "scent blockers and willpower + common decency"

And everyone turns to SQH like "You don't act like one" and he's like "Okay rude, but fair."

And then YQY says something like "Well three alphas out of twelve peaks. What a small fraction." And SY is like "Oh, who's the third alpha?"

Everyone looks at him and goes "You?"

And SY is like "Girl where 🤨 I'm a beta"

That leads to another screaming match and then YQY recounts "Two alphas, nine omegas, and one beta"

Anyway shenanigans ensue. I just want polycule silliness

[Jumping over to EP 3 as I was taking screenshots from it for future posts. I actually have noticed this a few times from watching it, but I would like to point it out as well. I love how these four paired up in this episode. You have Scratch and Shrike who are constantly at each other's throats, while you have Beebs and Scritch who are getting along.

I love how Scritch stays to Beebs' side for the rest of the episode. Scritch sticks with Beebs because right now, Beebs is the leveled headed one here. He's the voice of reason. Scritch is just as tired of this crap as Beebs is as well.

Scritch never says a word, but I love how helpful he is. How concern he is for their wellbeing but for Beebs' as well. Giving him little guidance and help to safety for all of them.

I love this shot too! You can see Scritch is concerned for Beebs. How much energy Beebs is using to keep them alive, but to see that he is doing it damaged as well. I love how Scritch looks to him with concern and wants to help, rather than complain or cause any further problems unlike his brother, Scratch. He's looking at his cybernetic arm and wondering how that affects Beebs and how it can be fixed.

Its hard to tell, especially since this shot is focused on Shrike, but you can also see in the background that Scritch is helping Beebs at pulling away the green veins from the console. Then you have Scratch, who is, doing nothing...

It is funny for him to let Beebs know that well, the ship is heading straight towards the star/sun. I feel like that was already a known fact, but I love how Scritch still has to point it out to Beebs. Like in this moment, he looking to Beebs and asking with those eyes "what are we going to do?"

I think about it now, but, I also think that maybe the reason why Scritch sticks to Beebs' shoulder is because he knew Beebs would listen to him. His brother and Shrike as of right now are being irrational. They're trying to prevent from you know- burning up into a star, but still are fighting with each other while doing so. Scritch would probably have no way to be able to get their attention, especially Shrike who is not the best at reading others anyway...

Beebs is a rational guy and right now, the one thinking the most rational... So I love that Scritch reaches for Beebs' attention because he knows that he can trust Beebs to make the right decision. I mean man, don't blame Scritch- I would trust Beebs with my life too...

And of course, at the end of the episode. They're out of danger finally, where they are gather to say goodbye to Us- and of course get Scratch to apologize for well, you know...

I love how in the end, Scritch decides to help Beebs one last time and at least patch up his cybernetic arm so that Beebs can play his guitar to communicate with Us. Gives it a little pat to make sure its sticking on tight. I love how its green as well, the same green that matches' Scritch collar/backpack. I love this little friendship that these two seem to have.

I mean really I love the dynamic between the four as well, this episode really captures the 'brother relationship' that they all share. Which once again, is something else I would love to talk about in another post!

Scritch you are such a precious little bean. Thank you for keeping your brother Scratch in check...

These silly moments I captured too. Lord these two are such polar opposites from Beebs and Srcitch and I love that. I love the dynamic between them so much.

Man, movie!Shadow is so baby. He genuinely feels like a kid. An abused, isolated kid whose grief and completely justified anger were manipulated by the one person he thought he could trust.

He's clearly been taught how to fight and weaponize his abilities, and at first that does make him seem older than our main three boys, especially when combined with his deep voice. But then you see him when he exposes his soft and vulnerable side, or his silly and playful side, and you're hit with the undeniable fact that he is a child.

I'm glad that they explicitly called him a kid multiple times too, because it really drives it home. He's a child, who never got a childhood because he was being used and abused by the U.S. military during the Cold War. He is a child who crash landed on earth with no memories, and was immediately captured by a hostile, suspicious government, who later wanted to use him for his powers.

He's a child who lost the one person he could call a friend in the worst way possible. He's a child who spent 50 years in a semi-conscious dream-like state where he was forced to relive her death over and over. He's a child with severe PTSD, who is actively suicidal and being told that mass murder-suicide and global destruction is the morally correct and justified choice.

He's a child who is understandably grumpy and wary of people, but also well-behaved and obedient, for the most part. He is a child whose seriousness is sometimes unintentionally very funny ("revenge guac..."), and who is playful with the people he trusts if they initiate it (Maria and Sonic).

He is a child who doesn't like monster movies where the monsters/aliens are treated like they're dangerous enemies that need to be killed. He's a child who loves the stars because they remind him of his best, and only, friend. He's a child who likes dancing, when it's with Maria, and who is implied to use his air shoes like skates at least partially because Maria loved to rollerskate.

He's a child who was forced to learn how to fight and taught to be a weapon, but who doesn't enjoy violence and fighting. The only times he attacks first are when Gerald prompted him to and when he thought he saw Walters, who betrayed him by trapping him in a literal nightmare for 50 years, and the only time he seems to take any amount of pleasure in fighting is when he and Sonic are destroying those robots together.

He's a child who gets upset when people are scared of him and think he's dangerous. He's a child who wants to be accepted, and who welcomes touch from the people he trusts (he seemed to like holding hands with Maria, and didn't let go of Sonic's hand after he pulled him up on the moon, until they started flying).

He's just. A very soft kid, underneath the initial prickliness. And I love that they went that direction with him.

Predictions for Buddy's Real Name

Hello Cinderella Boy enjoyers, how are we doing? Sobbing? Suffering? I can only imagine what emotional turmoil the fast passers may be experiencing right now. Well, to get our minds off of the impending Season One finale, I've decided to try and predict what Buddy's "real" name is.

(PS. You don't have to take this too seriously; I just needed some way to cope after the penultimate episode.)

(P.P.S This post is a pretty long read, so just stay with me on this, or continue on with your scrolling :))

First, I took some observations as to how Punko names her protagonists and compiled the following notes:

Punko has yet to name a main character anything starting with a vowel.

Punko's MCs have had names starting with either a stop/plosive or a fricative.

All of these names have had English, Latin, or Greek origins.

I also am taking the following assumptions into consideration when sifting through potential names:

I'm going to assume Punko will keep in line with all previous observations.

I believe Punko takes a bit of consideration of the meaning behind her characters. Deacon is the most obvious example, because he's like a friend and whatever and second in command to Chase. Prunella means "little plum", and yeah, I can see that. She is smol, and her temperament is... tart like a plum? But also sweet, like a plum? (I've never had a plum, I'm assuming this is what they're like).

I think her name choices skew towards a slightly older generation. Chase being an exception, but with names like "Frankie" and "Prunella" more commonly being given to children in the Victorian Era, apparently. Either way, I'll focus on slightly older names, like 90's and back probably.

I will be keeping a heavy focus on names that begin with the letter 'B' because the title of the series is "Cinderella" (Chase) "Boy" (Buddy/B-alternate name) and I personally think that would be cool.

Last thing is I'm gonna add names of Greek and French origin to the roster because I feel insane. My sources for searching mainly boil down to behindthename.com and the 2012 edition of this baby name book of 100,000+ baby names. That being said:

List of Potential Buddy Names

1. Beau

This is my personal favorite, which is why I'm listing it first, but I do have a few valid reasons for adding it here.

It means "handsome" in French

It plays into the "storybook/romance" angle of the series

Begins with the letter 'B'

Has been a relatively popular name since the 70s

2. Theodore

Kind of a weird 2nd pick, maybe, but hear me out.

Comes from Greek meaning "gift of God"

Could reflect that one theory that Buddy is not actually a human, but rather some creation that Ex Libris made

Was popular in 1915 and 2025, which is kind of silly

3. Vincent

Sounds regal enough, lol

Latin origin

Means "to conquor", so maybe he's gotta win something (like his freedom??)

peaked in the mid-60s and 90s

4. Connor

I have a friend named this, so it'd be really funny on Punko's part to name Buddy this

has like two roots meaning "desire" and "wolf"

he desires freedom, and is treated like a dog (they give him ZERO chocolate in Ex Libris)

of Irish origin, but idk, I still like it

5. Hunter

Okay this one has a single thing in it's favor criteria-wise (is of English origin), but this would be very cool considering Chase's name. Chase? and Hunter? Chase the Hunter? Hunt the Chase? Absolute power couple stuff here. Ship name could but C**ter---nevermind that censoring is actually worse

(maybe? comment down what the appropriate ship name for two characters names "Chase" and "Hunter"in case this is actually this poor man's name)

6. Victor

Some goober in the Webtoon comments section, like a year ago claims that Punko said this was gonna be Buddy's name in a Twitch stream, so maybe dawg?

Latin origin; also has to do with winning and victory of his rights or smthn

within the top 250 of baby names for Americans

7. Grayson

Will Grayson, Will Grayson? More like Will Gayson, Will Gayson. /j

And yeah, those are all the options I'd be willing to place money on. However, I do have more names compiled from Webtoon's comments, my friends' suggestions and some wild guesses that I am placing below for funsies, with my favorites highlighted:

I find it really amusing that the Ax has their logo on this random lamp. Like it's just such a funny detail to me because it implies that this organization went through the effort of commissioning their own special lampshade with a big axe shape on it for the purposes of keeping their brand consistent inside their medical room. I'm definitely overthinking this but in my defense I love themed environments.

SO. I have some incredibly mixed feelings on this chapter. Overall I think it's a really solid chapter, the art is fantastic and it's chock full of beautifully rendered action scenes (if that's your thing then you would LOVE this chapter). My only complaint about the chapter itself is that I think the ending feels rather rushed, the conclusion to the traitor thing feels really abrupt and it loses some of the emotional impact I think they were going for.

To people who haven't read all of PKNA before, you're going to have to bear with me here, as my complaints about this chapter don't come from the individual chapter itself but moreso the wasted potential this storyline represents to me in the grand scheme of the rest of the series. Without giving out major spoilers for the rest of PKNA: we never see the rebel aliens from this comic ever again. And it really bothers me.

It's not that I particularly care for the 4 Evronian prisoners as individuals, I don't even know their names, but it's the fact that the concept of a group of rebellious aliens that have been victimized by the Evronians and want to help PK fight against them is like, the PERFECT thing to add to the story. Like come on!!! I KNOW Xadhoom isn't the only one fighting back, and this story proves that she's not! We even get this line right at the end:

There ARE other rebel groups and there ARE people fighting back, but we see almost nothing from any of them! We're constantly told narratively that the Evronians have conquered and destroyed potentially hundreds of civilizations, but this is the first time (outside of Xadhoom) that we really get a feel for the impact they've had on the rest of the universe. This shit is serious!

I think if the story had just ignored the idea of other alien rebels altogether that it wouldn't have bothered me as much, but the fact that they took the time to outline this chapter with implications that we would be seeing rebel aliens in the future, only to essentially completely discard the idea afterwards... I dunno man it really just rubs salt in the wound 😭

PKNA has lots of (incredibly talented) artists and writers working on it, and it's obviously difficult to keep that many people on the same page all the time, so it's inevitable that different plotpoints will get dropped along the way (lowkey happens all the time) but this is the one that bothers me the most. It's just so much wasted potential!

No idea if anyone shares this sentiment or has even thought about this as hard as I have lol, but I wanted to get some of this off my chest. I love PKNA with my whole heart and soul, all my complaints come from that place of adoration. It also comes from a place of wanting to see more cool fuckin aliens cause like, look at Xadhoom, look how fucking awesome she is. MORE OF THAT PLEASE!!!

Perfect 10 Liners time! I was out of town, and then rather desperately attempting to catch up with a whole bunch of shows, so didn't have time to share my silly little thoughts on the last couple of episodes. But I am very much digging the PerthSanta combo! Much like Arc, there is a touch of the old school with Yotha (hiding feelings behind a wall of cold), but I like how Perth is playing with letting the mask slip. This is the first lead role I've seen Santa in, and I am adoring him.

I love that we get little glimpses of the ArcArm domestic era.

Pure fluffy goodness.

Yotha is totally going to make Gun wear those ears during sex someday.

Fai's delight at his brother being so whipped is bringing me life.

Ha, and giving him a hard time about everything. Perfect sibling energy.

What I find particularly funny is how much of this lunchtime convo is Yotha finding every opportunity to show off to everyone how close he is to Gun. They were at the bar together, he's talked to Gun's mom. He is 100% staking his claim here.

Lol, Lookwa is such a BL mom staple. But also, what the hell did she do to these kids? I hate seeing Faifa's light just vanish when she's present.

Ah, this explains a lot.

The fact that Yotha is most angry about her hurting Fai hits straight to the heart.

I do wish we would get more characters gently suggesting therapy to one another, because Yotha definitely needs some.

I do like how much we see Wa wanting to still be Yotha's friend, because it is proof that Yotha is genuinely a good guy, who has just lost his way a bit.

Oh no, I am not ok. Not my precious babies.

Logically I love that we have a plotline about toxic jealousy and how much it fucks things up, and how you need to have a boundary around it (and that is how you enforce a boundary Klao, well done!), but also it's my AouBoom, and I do not like them in pain. Oh god, their historical series this year is so going to fuck me up, isn't it?

Oh, this episode is going to be full of heart punches. Fantastic.

Also, I do have to laugh a little at Gun moving into the one dorm in all of BL that has constant power outages. The universe wants this man to be cuddled every night.

As much as I make fun of the college BL, I do really appreciate that even series like this, which are not super deep, take the time to distance themselves from the old toxic tropes of the past. In the old tropes, Yotha would be an asshole and it would just be acceptable. Here, they make a point of how him lashing out genuinely hurt Gun, and it's not ok.

Lol, Yotha is so bad at relationships, good lord. Fortunately for him, at this stage, Gun is willing to accept a "let me kiss you and climb on top of you" as an apology, but it's not going to work every time, Yotha. At some point, you will need to learn to use words.

One thing GMMTV will nail every time is the friend group dynamics.

There's something so cute about Fai, who is friends with literally everyone, always coming back to this little group. He really enjoys being with his future brother-in-law, and I love that for them both.

Not Yotha deliberately taking off the tie so he could get Gun to put it on in front of the entire class...

Honestly, I do respect Yotha's ability to not care what anyone around him thinks.

I am so here for the Arm Gun friendship, they are clearly soulmates.

Also this brother dynamic.

At some point we need a series that is told exclusively from the point of these background characters, who keep seeing romantic and dramatic moments playing out in class while they're trying to study.

No, Boom, no smoking! It's so unsexy.

Of course that's the moment Gun walks back. This episode is trying to hurt me personally.

It doesn't help that I'm realizing I am so much like Gun in so many ways. Oh sweetie, we really feel things deeply, don't we.

Hi this was me the whole time so now I get to ramble.

omg I love your ideas for them, I love them so much and do think something like that would kinda set things rolling for them but not in the way either of them plan/intend lol

Like SMG3 has NEVER seemed like the romantic type of guy to me, he's too in denial about his emotions and expressing them, so falling for someone is not something he'd display so openly. He'd probably just gradually spend more and more time with her over a long period just doing normal relationship things with her without ever expressing how he feels, and I think Karen would be the same way too.

Because Karen is 100% dedicated to her children like we can always see that, so some random guy showing up and professing his love to her would very likely land him in the trash. So it would be a very slow but natural build up and I EAT that shit up fhdhudjdjd

Idk the idea of SMG3 gradually getting more and more integrated into Karen's life and especially with her kids just seems the most realistic stance for them, don't get me wrong they could still absolutely be all fluffy and sweet at times but that stuff feels more like an afterthought type deal, like SMG3 stepping up to be a step dad comes first and THEN they get all mushy with it BDHDUSJSKDK

(I think 5 and 1 are my favorite of the past episodes, though 6 infected me with the Shroud brainrot something fierce.) I just...ESPECIALLY love diasomnia. :') but there is room in my heart for all of these dweebs! like, who among us is not just as ride-or-die for Adeuce as they are for us.

that said, I don't really follow the other adaptations like the manga (aside from a dip-in just to see the new Yuus) or the novels, though I keep meaning to check them out! I do like seeing the differences between the different forms of media, and how certain things get adapted one way or another! but alas, time/a lack of accessibility stands in our way more often than not. :( someday...someday I will have time to consume all of the media...

So I had a thought…

The chain gets sent to Wild’s hyrule for the very time. Like the typical chain meets Wild stuff, but it’s post totk. Not only is it post totk, but the portal doesn’t drop them on the surface, no, it drops them in the depths.

So now you’ve got the chain—minus Wild who they haven’t met just yet—quite literally in the dark about this new hyrule, and they aren’t aware that the depths aren’t all there is to this hyrule because how could they be? So they’re all wondering what in the hell happened there.

Meanwhile, up on the surface, Wild is at lookout landing talking with Josha who heard there was something weird going on in the depths and wants Wild to go check it out. Wild being Wild, she agrees. There’s the thought that maybe the yiga are back to their usual antics of causing trouble, so they may as well go check it out just in case.

…that’s about where my thought ended. I didn’t think too far ahead. I’m basically running on a large iced coffee and a chocolate muffin. Something something the chain meets Wild down in the depths when Wild saves them from gloom hands or a lynel. Cue Wild helping them out of the depths, and then officially joining the chain and whatnot because yeah.
