Was in the middle of drawing hugs (which will be posted eventually) when I got hit by an idea that had Stan ending up in the hospital and Ford being an absolute emotional wreck (as expected). No backstory on what happened with Stan but drew up ideas while they’re in the hospital. They’re both ok after everything (cuz duh, this is me we’re talking about lol)

⌞♥⌝ Wahhh asking me for the most fucked up events feels a bit subjective (as it all depends on the person), but I will say that—

CW: 14DWY spoilers under the cut!! Also minor depictions of gore, torture, etc.

Depending on the Decay meter and everyone's affinity points, the player can potentially unlock a scene where Ren will literally carve off another character's face and wear it like a second skin. (He just wants to be Angel's ideal type, after all!! ^^)

And depending on the Decay and Purity meter, there's also another unlockable scene where Angel can essentially dehumanise(?) Ren and treat him like a wild animal T_T He'll sleep in a cage (or on the floor like in day 1 ghshjg), eat whatever scraps Angel feeds him, and kinda just?? act like how he would around his father in hopes of appeasing them.

I've also mentioned this a few times before, but there will also be an unlockable cannibal scene, a torture scene (Angel is not the one being tortured /gen), a red room scene, and your basic Room Tour After Getting Kidnapped scene <3 But I feel like they're all kinda self-explanatory, so I won't delve further kgjdfjgj

But, again, these are just some things that I personally consider to be the tiniest bit fucked up. However, others might have differing opinions once the full game is published, and I also don't want to reveal everything that will be in the game, as I feel like that takes away the fun of blindly experiencing something for the first time.

Also!! I want to reiterate once more that all these scenes (except one) are conditional and dependent on the player's choices! You can 100% go down a pacifist route where Ren is a Normal Guy With Normal Intentions — and you won't ever be pressured into making certain choices either. At its core, 14DWY is a game that shapes itself around the player's tastes and interests...

...Much like Ren.

The past few mornings have been spent staring into your empty coffee cup, spoon clinking against the sides of the mug with absentminded stirring, breakfast left untouched.

“Peach?”

Bakugo’s voice doesn’t reach you the first time. Your mind is shut off, barely focusing on the food in front of you. He reaches across the table and gently takes your hand, running his thumb along the back of it.

“Earth to peaches,” he teases playfully, snapping you back to reality. “Ya don’t have to eat if you don’t feel up to it.”

You frown. “I-I’m sorry, Kats.”

“Don’t be. I’ll save it for later.”

He stares at you a few moments longer, the hurt spread across your features making his heart ache.

"You don’t need to carry all this shit alone," Bakugo stresses while squeezing your hand. "It's okay if you're not okay, just gotta let me know what you need."

You know he’s right, but it’s unreasonably difficult. Something in you prevents your woes from spilling out onto others - you’ve always carried it by yourself. Why? You don’t fucking know. It’s how you’ve always operated. Maybe it’s from being an only child, or being forced to be an adult at too young of an age. You’re the person everyone turns to for sunshine and rainbows, you can’t risk raining on their parades with your own storms.

The tears pooling in your eyes are unable to be controlled, steadily spilling over your waterline and onto the table. Bakugo lets go of your hand and anxiously gets up from his seat, carefully walking over to you. He kneels to meet your gaze, wiping away a few stray tears from your cheeks.

“Why don’t we stay in today, yeah? Red and Pinky won’t mind if we rain check.” He offers you a smile and cradles your tear stained cheek in his palm. “Stay in our sweats all day, eat junk an’ sink into the couch together. How’s that sound?”

That sounds nice.

You respond by launching yourself off the chair, wrapping your arms around his shoulders and landing in his lap when the two of you fall to the kitchen floor with a thump. Bakugo holds you tightly, one hand on the back of your neck to pull you as close has possible. You let out a sob and a sniffle, gripping onto his shirt like a scared child.

“I know, sweetheart…I know.”

He closes his eyes, letting you take the moment to just feel. Something you’ve been avoiding for the last few days.

“Thank you,” you whisper while clearing your throat. “I’m sorry that-”

Bakugo squeezes you tighter for a moment, cutting you off. “Nope, none’a that. Nothin’ to be sorry for.”

For the first time in a while, that notion sinks in, offering you a small dose of comfort.

“Wanna watch a cheesy romcom?” You ask nasally while leaning back in his lap, shaking your head to get rid of the last of your tears.

“Is the sky blue? ‘Course I do,” Bakugo jests, his hands moving to your waist. “Go pick somethin’ and I’ll get the popcorn.”

Maybe, just maybe, being vulnerable is okay.

that laios/shuro (toshiro?) argument means a lot to me because on one hand i have been laios and i have been excited to be around people who just would. not. say. that they didnt like me around until they did it in a way that was incredibly painful and confusing when that could have been easily avoided by a short conversation at the time of offense.

on the other hand i have been shuro experiencing that naive racism from someone who doesn't know much outside his bubble & its really hard to confront directly because its not coming from a bad place necessarily, but it is truly drenched in the racial biases that a culture has baked in. and that can be very exhausting to try and explain to someone after being bombarded by such, especially if they seem completely unaware of it being a problem.

its a situation where both characters are sympathetic to me, at least a little.

💖 Day 3.5 is now available! 💖

For the last couple of months, only Server Boosters had access to the 3.5 update... Buuuuut now it's available for everyone to play in the 14DWY Discord — and soon itch.io once I'm happy with the QA and state of the game — so please don't feel pressured to join unless you want to!!

What's been added to the 3.5 version?

📺 Streamer Mode!

I've been told that it's difficult to stream and monetise age-restricted videos on YouTube and Twitch, so I added an option to remove the sexual content and strong language used in the demo.

Now y'all can invite Ren into your bed for cuddles without putting your streamer career on the line /silly /lh

This won't affect the 18+ rating or dark themes/elements of the game, however! Although Streamer Mode will prevent you from seeing any "gruesome" CGs in the future, most of the core elements of the game will still be tied to the choices and decisions you make. So you won't miss out on the overall experience by using streamer mode!!

⚙️ Custom Pronouns!

It only took me one entire year to get around to it, but you can finally choose your own preferred pronouns (or use a set of pronouns instead)... At the cost of being able to change them mid-game ^^;

Since the original pronoun screen wouldn't update until a new scene was displayed, I temporarily disabled the feature. But once I find a workaround, I'll bring it back!

💗 Choose how others perceive you!

You can now choose how the cast and narration perceive you! Originally, the narration was kept strictly gender-neutral (outside of pronouns and genitalia picked by the player), but this will soon change in future updates.

For more clarity: you don't get to choose the words specifically, but you can choose between masculine, feminine, and androgynous terms!

📋 Separate top and bottom genitalia!

You can now choose your tatas and pps separately! >:3

Alongside that, you can also choose your preferred body type!

I removed the "both" genitalia option because a few players still assumed it was an obscure version of "intersex". That wasn't my intention and I don't want to mislead anyone, so I took it out for now ^^;

I also didn't want to include a screenshot of the new genitalia choices in action (because it's NSFW), so y'all get the same character menu screen for the nth time instead lmao

📱 Relationship Screen Overhaul!

You can now change your own status for more immersion, and long-term Server Boosters will eventually be able to submit and use their own icon within the game as well!

Stalking finding your friends has now become easier by using "Buddy Maps"; a new app that allows you to see the location of all the cast members!

I want to offer players more incentive to check the relationship screen since they tend to miss the status updates, so hopefully this might help ;v;

It also says it "updates every few hours" so folks don't go overboard and check every 5 seconds to see where Ren is gdsghf (also keep in mind that he's a hacker lol)

🖤 Additional Scenes Update!

Day 2 received a brand new CG!!!!! Originally, I planned on only adding a few CGs sporadically throughout the game, but it didn't feel right to leave Day 2 so... empty... so I added a brand new CG to (hopefully) make things feel more balanced and natural!

If you decline Teo's offer on Day 3, Leon will now call and try to convince you to reconsider. However, players are still allowed to decline, and if they do, they'll reach a dead end.

After listening to feedback on itch, I changed some of the dialogue during Days 1-3 to make it seem more consistent! They're only small changes though, so it's honestly not worth looking for sdgjssga

🎶 Updated BGM and SFX!

I wanted to try out a different style of music to see if it fits the vibe of 14DWY more! The BGM features more acoustics to suit the "beachy" theme of Corland Bay, though I made a conscious effort to include piano elements as well to stay true to the original!!

I figured it'd be better to give players a live example before I make a poll (to see if they prefer the change or not) and publish it to Itch.

Some new SFX have also been added, though it's very minimal and honestly not that noticeable.

How to download and play the update?

(warning: clicking on the following links will open Discord!!) To download the Day 3.5 update, simply join the 14DWY Discord server, verify your age, and visit the "14dwy-updates" channel!

Alternatively, you can also wait until the update is publicly released on Itch to play it as well!! (It normally gets released shortly after a round of QA testing/getting feedback from the server, though I may release it earlier if I feel like it hehe ^^)

Okay LOOK how calm and peaceful he looks. Sitting alone there, in his own world. But also how sad he looks. The artist has done a really good job with the contrasting colours. His world is literally cold and blue right now and he just wants things to change. But he knows things don’t change in Gotham. It never does.

And then there’s the fact that his bike is there-

This boy drove- HE DROVE to sit on a bench and feed these birds. And no he didn't just hand them a leftover bite of his sandwich as he sat on a bench. No no no, he BOUGHT the breadcrumbs! Look at the little paper bag!! He bought breadcrumbs and drove his bike to sit alone on his bench and feed the pigeons.

This is what he does to calm down and unwind and empty his head from the bat-filled chaos he experienced. It's canon to me so yeah l'lI never shut up about this. My heart can't handle this information. I need to give this boy a hug
