I absolutely adore the irony, how Legend is literally kidnapped and he thinks of it as his closest vacation. I also love the facial expression, he looks so done and I am all for it. I also LOVE the rope, I generally don’t know why but the way that it shows how a rope actually curves around a person is just AAA. I enjoy this art style in general and I hope you enjoy this work as much as I enjoyed writing it :)

Legend was not expecting this situation.

He was not expecting his cockiness to catch up to him, he was not expecting to be sent to Hylia knows where, he was not expecting to be tied together with a rope, hanging above this unfamiliar world. 

The breeze blew mockingly at him, his straight hair swaying wearily at the wind. His mind couldn’t help but wander, reminding himself of the captain and his ever so long hair routine. 

Time seemed to slow down, the rope rocking in the zephyr slower, feeling as if it was coming to a complete stop. His eyes twitched like a ticking clock, waiting, and waiting.

Was this how Zelda felt? Whoops. 

His childhood was zapped from him too soon, forced into the world of battle and adrenaline. The adventurer found himself forgetting the better days, just living as a kid, not a hero, not in dystopia. The memories grew distant, just brushing his fingertips before they got out of reach. 

“Sadly,” He yelled into the void of nothingness, “This is the closest I’ve had to a vacation in years.” He wished he could pray for someone to listen to his complaints, but his desire to believe was lost long ago. He allowed himself to scream, for his voice to echo across the area. There was no home left for him, no more people to suffer with, nowhere to go, nowhere to comeback to.

Legend was all alone.

Reconciliation

Old dome squadmates Trito and Kinoga get together at Trito’s place to catch up after years apart and a meeting by chance on the surface.

After several weeks of chipping away at this, the comic is finally done! Very happy to have rendered a full 7 pages of oc stuff. Please give it a read!!

For the lore, includes stuff from splatoon Octo Expansion: Trito and Kinoga were a part of an octarian military squad living in the domes, Kinoga being their squad leader that many looked up to and admired. There were 6 of them who considered each other to be their closest friends. Upon hearing about the tests from Kamabo Co. and the allure of the Promised Land, Kinoga wished to seek it out in order to find a better life for their squadmates. A difficult decision, since it meant leaving them all behind, promising to come back and take them there.

Kinoga enters the metro trials and soon realizes that the Promised Land isn’t what they expected, their hope crumbling when they encounter one of their sanitized squadmates Agara, who followed suit to the metros soon after. Kinoga narrowly escapes, eventually making a break for the surface, carrying the shame of unwilling to return for their squadmates with them (it’s justified, of course, there might not be an easy way in, they might get caught again, Agara is gone)

Trito enters the Metro not too long after Kinoga does, wanting to catch up to them, and an accident that occurs in a test early on results in Trito’s near sanitization, giving him his scar. Terrified, and realizing what happens to his fellow octolings, Trito is unable to return to his squadmates, not wanting to break the news of their loved ones’ untimely fates. He hides away on the Metro until the events of OE happen and Agent 8 dismantles Kamabo, opening an opportunity to escape to the surface. Unwilling to face the possibilities of going back, Trito takes his chance to leave, starting a new life and feeling that it’s for the best if he doesn’t acknowledge it, though he missed his friends dearly.

Years later, Trito and Kinoga run into each other on the streets of Splatsville by chance, and the implications of them both being on the surface and alive hit them, having to carry the burden of leaving their loved ones behind and finding out the truth, knowing the other felt exactly the same, not knowing the fate of their squadmates and not wanting to think about the possibility of them being gone. They have a tearful reunion about it, and set up a meet later, to sit down and really talk, and get into a brief argument when the topic of returning to the domes comes up. Trito’s in disbelief that Kinoga never went back down to check on the rest of their squad, wanting them to have been a better person than him, who was too cowardly to do so. Eventually they do reconcile, and end up at Trito’s place to hook up, where the above comic takes place :]

kara in the current continuity doesn’t really have a secret identity anymore. like, she is working as kara zor-el, she probably signed her rent papers with “kara zor-el” etc. BUT. she also most definitely didn’t disclose she was going by kara danvers at one point. you know, because it would be dangerous for the few people she got close to during rebirth. so by now i’m pretty sure the missing case of kara danvers has gone cold. the people she went to high school with think she is most likely dead. one of them made a tiktok talking about her that blew up. “a girl in my class didn’t come to school one day and we haven’t seen her since. this is her story.” for all we know, there might even be a true crime episode dedicated to the disappearance of kara danvers. i’m sure she is flattered. the neighbours probably still occasionally bring eliza and jeremiah diner once in a while. “i’m sorry this happened to your daughter. she was such a bright kid.”, “we know, it’s just… so sad, man. *supergirl flies over them* just so so sad.” afterwards, they invited kara to eat the food together. they also tell her they should just fake her death at this point. she doesn’t want to. it’s just about the funniest thing that has ever happened to her (of course she tells her friends what really happened. she doesn’t let them be turmoiled by her “death” for too long.)

anyway, i think next time she has an ongoing she should team up with a detective buddy of her who got hired to investigate the strange disappearance of kara danvers. he doesn’t know supergirl went by “kara danvers” at one point. “hey, kara, isn’t it strange you both have the same first name?”, “what can i say, who doesn’t like the name kara?”. they investigate together for a while, because it’s just so funny to kara. but in the end she tells her friend and they finally fake kara danvers’ death.
