-Donnie fully learned to trust you after the purple dragons mishap

-you told him they were untrustworthy but his heart was dead set on that satin jacket

-when he came back to the lair, late at night, with no satin jacket and a handful of his missing tech, he found you raising an eyebrow at him from where you had sat to wait for him

-he knew from then on to trust you and your opinions, even though his often got in the way

-you can often be found sitting on Donnies bed while he works, offering your company and comments

-Normally no one else is allowed in while he works but that’s just because they don’t have anything positive to provide

-your mom friend energy and his mom friend energy just work together so well together

-I’m talking planning missions together, figuring new ways to trick his brothers into being responsible, cleaning the dishes, and even making snacks together

-“so the mission is tomorrow right?”

-“yep! Should we bring apples with peanut butter or pretzels with hummus?”

-“well Donnie doesn’t like peanut butter, but Mikey does, so both?”

-“awesome! And you’ve got the water covered?”

-“dude I even have caprisuns packed so we’re ready!”

-the others find it to be too much with the two of you but Raph really appreciates the help

-especially during the pizza puff episode

-oh that part nearly set you on fire with worry

-Raph had never seen you that worked up

-you had a fan for Leo, a bowl for Mikey, and a bag of fruit snacks for Donnie

-Raph has to activate his supreme mom friend energy to get you to stop hovering over them

-that meant literally dragging you away from them so they could figure things out on their own

-he’s seen you be a mom friend to them all the time

-but never once for him

-you two were like... co mom friends working together to stop the younger irresponsible three

-until Raph got separated in the sewer

-oh man you were torn with worry

-you nearly destoryed the place looking for him

-and finding him all savage like that... ack that was enough to practically shatter your heart in two

-once he stopped trying to barbecue villains and destroy his brothers you took him to the lair and helped him calm down

-you even turned on a movie for the two of you so he could relax

-it was nice to have your best friend and partner in stopping crime back

-Raph of course was embarrassed because it’s HIS job to help everyone, not the other way around

-after much assurance you had him convinced that you didn’t mind

-he was grateful to have you and your help

-he just wished you didn’t worry quite so much

-this boy is soaking it all up from the start

Anakin x Reader Who Gets Hurt on a Mission Headcanons

Warnings: I mean talk of injuries but no in depth ones discussed. Mainly just protective and worried Anakin with some soft Ani thrown in there too because I physically think I’m incapable of not adding that.

A/N: Yes my love of course!! I love worried and protective Ani <3 I know you said quick little headcanons but I fucking love protective!Anakin and the getting hurt on a mission thing is one of my favorite tropes lmao so this kinda took on a life of its own.

Okay first off Anakin is already so protective. He hates that you’re in dangerous situations when you go on missions and he hates it when he can’t go with you. That being said, he knows you’re powerful and competent and he would never doubt your abilities as a Jedi.

Honestly, his protectiveness says far more about him than you. He’s not worried that you’re not strong enough; he’s worried he’s not strong enough. If you get hurt, he thinks he failed somehow.

As soon as he sees you get hit, he’s there in an instant. If it happens in the middle of a battle, getting you to safety is his main priority. He’ll scoop you up in his arms and get you out of there immediately.

If it’s more like someone hurts you directly, like a one-on-one thing, he’s going insane. Picture someone stabbing or hitting you to the point where you’re unconscious and bleeding on the floor. Anakin immediately flashes back to losing his mother, to when he wasn’t able to save someone he loved.

He will kill them if they’re still a threat to you. If not, it’s not like he’s letting them just walk away. He’s infuriated. He first steps in front of your body, shielding you from them. And he’s livid, he’s glaring at them and anyone could tell he’ll fight to the death for you.

His lightsaber ignites, illuminating his enraged expression and they just know they fucked up.

Even so, you are his priority. Revenge never comes first when it’s between that and keeping you safe. His thought process is: deal with danger as quick as I can so I can go make sure they’re okay.

He runs up to you and, if you’re unconscious, he’s gently trying to coax you awake. He’ll whisper softly, all “Can you hear me?” “Open your eyes for me, baby.” “Please, Y/N, please let me see your gorgeous eyes.” “Come on, angel, let me know you’re okay”

His eyes are scanning your body, looking for any possible injuries that he needs to attend to.

Regardless of what the injuries are, he’s picking you up. He’s not letting you walk or put any pressure on any parts of your body.

He scoops you up as gently as he can and moves as evenly as he can while rushing you back to the ship, trying not to jostle you around too much.

If you whimper or hiss in pain from the movements, he looks at you so apologetically and whispers an “I’m so sorry, just a little longer, okay?”

And you’ll nod at him with tears in your eyes and it just makes his heart ache. He hates knowing you’re in pain and that he wasn’t able to stop it or take it away.

When he gets you back to the ship, he’ll lay you down and try to attend to your injuries as best he can. He’ll grab some gauze and bandages and wrap your wounds, desperate to stop the blood loss. If there aren’t any supplies, he’ll just rip parts of his shirt off to use as bandages. After he did that once you secretly hope they forget the supplies again because-

After he finishes that, you’re normally really cold and exhausted from the blood loss. He wraps you up in all the blankets they might have and pulls his Jedi robe off and puts it around you, too. He knows it brings you comfort and, honestly, it’s really fucking warm.

He talks to you to try and keep you awake. He’ll tell you stories and although he tries to be strong for you, you can hear his voice shake and his words become faster, sure signs that he’s fucking terrified.

That’s honestly what gets you to stay awake, more than anything else. You don’t want him to panic. You’ll try to hold his hands, if your injuries allow, and constantly move your thumb against the back of his hand as he does the same to you. The constant movement reminds him you’re alive and conscious and okay.

As soon as you land on Coruscant, he immediately brings you to medbay. He doesn’t care, you can complain about how much you don’t want to and how you’re fine all you want, he won’t hear it. He got a little upset once because you were desperate and said “please, Ani, please don’t make me go. I just want to go back to our bed and have you hold me. That’s the only thing that could make me feel better right now.”

He was upset because he hates turning you down, especially when you ask like that. The only time he’ll turn you down is if he’s trying to keep you safe.

He tries to force them to let him stay with you as they run diagnostics, literally yelling out and attempting every trick in the book. Even so, it doesn’t work. They calmly tell him to go sit in the waiting room and they’ll get him when the tests are finished.

He watches them take you away and he paces in the room, chewing on his fingernails and running his hands through his hair in worry. He normally somehow ends up finding his way into a chair and he ends up breaking down. He’ll have his head in his hands, tears streaming down his cheeks as he prays to the Maker that you’ll be alright. He’d do anything, so long as you’re alright.

When they finally call him back, saying your tests are done he’ll run back into the room. You see his disheveled appearance and bloodshot eyes and you immediately reassure him that you’re going to be okay.

As soon as he can take you home, back into his arms you go. Once again, you’re not walking, so don’t even try it. Further, he just wants to hold you. You normally kind of turn your head into his chest, embarrassed that he has to carry you through the Temple where anyone can see you in this weakened state.

Meanwhile, Anakin is staring daggers at anyone who even attempts to look in your direction. His arms tighten around you, keeping you close and you’ve honestly never felt safer.

He gets you back to the apartment and gently places you on the bed. He looks you over again, just making sure they didn’t miss any of your injuries before he pulls the covers up and comes next to you.

He’ll get you some water and a bit of food, wanting you to get something in your system to help replenish your body. He stays with you the whole time, making sure you eat and drink at least a little bit.

Even though the medical droids helped, you’re still in pain and he tries to help in whatever way he can. He can see your eyes screwing up as you try to move and get comfortable in bed and he’s just “I know it hurts, baby. I’m so sorry, here, let me help you, okay?” “What can I do to make it better”

He helps you get settled, pulling you with him in his strong arms until you find a position that allows you to sleep.

Sometimes you’re shaken up from getting hurt. You’ll tell him how afraid you are or, more frequently, he just knows. He tells you “You’re safe now, my love.” “No one’s going to hurt you ever again.” “It’s okay, I took care of them, it’s okay.” “Look at me, angel. They’re gone, alright? It’s just you and me, right here, safe.”

As you drift off, he reminds you how much he loves you and you say it back. He’s always the big spoon on those nights. He puts himself closest to the door, shielding your body with his.

Nights after you get hurt are always very special. He holds you to him as tightly as he can, granted this is mostly dependent on your injuries. And you just love it. You feel safe and he feels like he can keep you like that.

Basically, if you get hurt on a mission, Anakin’s got you. And an enemy has to be pretty stupid to try and hurt you. Not only are you exceptionally badass, but if they somehow get to you, Anakin will hunt them to the ends of the galaxy to ensure they never harm you again.

Rise of the TMNT Timeline

Alright, by piecing together some clues from the show and making some educated guesses, I’ve put together a tentative chronology for Rise!

(Note: not all episodes are included, just a couple that either have timeline evidence or are somehow plot notable. This is assuming the canonical episode order is also chronological order.)

[EDIT] Added some more information (namely Splinter’s birthday month).

1600s-ish: The Shredder was created and sealed away September 1960: Splinter was born 1966: Splinter’s mother left (Finale part 1 flashback) 1979: Splinter left for America (Finale part 1 flashback) 1980-1984: Splinter became an action film star, dated around 1984: Splinter started dating Big Mama 1987: Splinter’s “Hot Soup: the Game” was released 1989: Splinter proposed to Big Mama, was imprisoned in Battle Nexus November 2002: April was born April-August 2003: (Presumably) Raph was born April-August 2004: (Presumably) Leo and Donnie were born April-August 2005: (Presumably) Mikey was born October 2005: Splinter and the Turtles were mutated February 2014: The first Lair Games was held 2014-2016: Donnie made his first battleshell, goggles, and tech bracer Early 2018: Piebald was flushed August 2018: Mystic Mayhem (the series begins), Down with the Sickness September 2018: The Turtle Tank was created (The Fast and the Furriest), Bug Busters, Hypno part Deux October 2018: Bullhop, Evil League of Mutants, Shelldon was first created (Smart Lair), Shadow of Evil November 2018: April’s 16th Birthday (Warren and Hypno), April meets Sunita (Operation: Normal) December 2018: Snow Day January 2019: S1 Finale February 2019: The sixth Lair Games was held (Lair Games), Repairin’ the Baron March 2019: Air Turtle April-May 2019: S2 Finale

(Reasoning below the cut!)

So. Assuming that the episodes occur in chronological order, we can reasonably assume that the course of the show proper takes around or slightly less than a year.

In Hypno Part Deux, April is going to a homecoming dance; homecoming dances happen usually around the beginning of the school year, in late September or early October. Since she is canonically 15 at the time (she says she’s 16 in Always Be Brownies, which happens after her birthday) and has a birthday that comes after homecoming, that would likely make her a high school junior! That’s not important, just a fun fact. Placing the beginning of the series around August makes sense, then, since it’d be before April started school and during flu season, giving Splinter a good reason for catching the rat flu in Down with the Sickness.

The other solid time marker we have is Snow Day, which obviously takes place during snow season in New York (which is usually December to March). It’d likely be closer to December, since I’d like to imagine that they would have gone out to have fun in the snow as soon as they could have, potentially even at first snow. Since Lair Games comes chronologically after Snow Day and confirms the year as being 2019, we can assume that most episodes that happen before Snow Day happened in 2018 while those after happened in 2019.

Another, slightly more tenuous time marker is Bullhop, where a calendar is shown that says the 21st of the month was on a Sunday; by our previous assumption, this is 2018, so a calendar shows this must have been during the month of October, which falls in line with the rest of our timeline here! Neat. The 2018-2019 NBA season went from October 6 to April 10, so, since Air Turtle presumably showed a late season game with potential for turnaround, early March seems like a fair bet. All of those episodes combined give a pretty good sense of time throughout the series, spanning from probably around August 2018 to Mid-2019. The finale could have happened any time after March and before June (when high school would end, meaning Sloppy Joe wouldn’t have had to be working Draxum’s kitchen). Because there were quite a few episodes that should have happened before the finale, though, I’ll split the difference and say the S2 finale happened in or around May.

Fun detail: by this timeline, April’s birthday is sometime between October and December/January, likely November (seeing as it comes after Bullhop but before Snow Day, and judging by the fall colors of the foliage in Operation Normal which comes directly after her birthday episode.)

As for the brothers, we can assume that they might have different birthdays judging by how in Lair Games, Mikey says that one of his favorite days is “my birthday”; if they all shared a birthday, he might have been more likely to say “our birthday”. They were mutated sometime close to October, but since they didn’t seem to see the date of their mutation as anything special in ELoM, we can assume they don’t celebrate it as their birthday. We know that at the beginning of the show, Mikey is 13, Leo and Donnie are 14, and Raph is 15; at no point during the show do any of them have a birthday, which leads me to assume that they are the same ages by the S2 finale. They COULD have had a birthday offscreen, but since birthdays are a pretty big thing for teenagers, I’d think that if one of them had a birthday it would be pretty noteworthy. I’ll just guess and say they didn’t have one. If that’s the case, then all of their birthdays would be some time between April-ish and August-ish. By the time the show starts, then, they would have already had their birthdays, confirming for us their (probably only guessed anyway but whatever) birth years as 2003, 2004, and 2005. Realistically, Splinter probably didn’t know how much older Raph was from any of the others or anything like that, but the years are still somewhat important for age calculation purposes. I could try to guess their birthday months by saying they might all have wanted a unique birthday month, but that would be complete conjecture on my part (as compared to the rest of this which is just mostly conjecture), and would honestly be more headcanon territory than an educated guess? So for the timeline I’ll just say that their birthdays are between April and August.

Now, reaching further backwards to figure out Splinter’s life timeline!

In Splinter’s memories in E-turtle Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, we see a clip of a teenage Splinter. Said “teenage splinter” looks to be on the older side of teenager, as he seems to have his own apartment and just looks older besides, so I’d place him at either 18 or 19 (leaning towards 19). Additionally, taking a look around his room, it looks like he might be using a Sony Walkman (first made in 1979), and has what looks to be a Star Wars poster on his wall (1977). Additionally, he has a TV in his room that looks to be a Toshiba Blackstripe model that was popular in the mid-to-late 70s. While I can’t tell if he does actually have a walkman or not, I’d probably place this scene as being 1978 or 1979 anyway, so let’s just say it’s 1979. If he was 19 in 1979, that would place Splinter’s birth year as 1960, which is nice and even so I’m keeping it. That would make Splinter 58-59 during the course of the show, which seems to track! He has a birthday in Mascot Melee (the turtles are buying him a new robe as a birthday present), which, according to my episode timeline, puts his birthday around early September.

The flashback of Splinter as a kid is a little bit tricky, since he looks to be about five or six judging by how he acts in the scene? But he’s also holding a Kamen Rider doll, and that show didn’t exist until 1971. I nonetheless place the scene in 1966, since this is a cartoon and hey, maybe the Kamen Rider equivalent came out a few years earlier in this world, who cares. The bottle flip challenge already apparently happened in 2014 here, why not move some other stuff around? This exercise has already had me comparing calendar days, I will not be deterred

In Many Unhappy Returns, the clapperboard for the film “Crouching Shrimp, Hidden Tiger Prawn” in Splinter’s flashback shows that it was 1984 when he first met Big Mama, meaning that he was not only Lou Jitsu by then (at just 24 years old!), but that he had been making movies for at least a few years. After all, he and Big Mama were supposedly inseparable after meeting, and in The Shadow of Evil, it’s shown that Splinter did date around a bit as a star. Assuming that rat dad isn’t the cheating type, that would have had to be before meeting Big Mama. In Fists of Furry, Splinter mentions that he hasn’t seen any of his dojos in thirty years; while he may not have meant literally thirty years on the dot, assuming he’s at least close, that would mean that he was first abducted around 1989 (age 29). At that point, he and Big Mama would have been dating for around 5 years, which seems like a reasonable amount of time for him to wait before proposing. He also would have had time to build up quite a bit of fame as a movie star; the game he had of him looks to be on a system similar to the Atari 2600 and in fact looks pretty similar to the real life game “Kung Fu Master” that came out on Atari in 1987, a year which would have been the prime of his career. Sure, that date works as well as any. After that point, we know he was imprisoned in the Battle Nexus until Baron Draxum kidnapped him in order to use his DNA to mutate the turtles 13 years before The Evil League of Mutants. That would have placed his kidnapping and their mutations at around October of 2005, judging by the monthly timeline of the show. So, Splinter would have been around 45 when he adopted the turtles, after having been imprisoned and forced to fight for ~16 straight years. Dang.

Finally, I figured that the whole deal with Shredder and Karai would have happened at some point in the 1600s as it was 18 generations ago, judging by the number of “greats” in Karai’s grandma title, and if you average out a generation to be about 20-25 years, that lands you in the range of the 15th century. That works especially because Ninja apparently first started becoming a thing in the 15th century, so the timing checks out well enough.

(and, just as an extra fun note for the timeline, the lair games was said to have been going on for 6 years as of early 2019, meaning it must have started in 2014. We see that, in 2014 (year 1 of the Lair Games), Donnie doesn’t have his goggles or battleshell and is instead wearing glasses. In 2016 (year 3), though, he looks about the same as he does in the present, meaning he must have created all his tech that he wears on him (battleshell, goggles, tech bracer) between 2014 and 2016.)

So, the above timeline is a guesstimated and shoved around compilation of all this totally meaningless investigation, typed in a form that makes some kind of chronological sense! I hope that someone finds it useful, or just fun to think about :D

I'd honestly listen to anything you write--I think you have a wonderful way of expressing yourself, and the way you write is just... *chef's kiss* I guess, a question I'd have for you is this: What sort of hobbies do you headcanon our fearless leader to have? Quirks? Both endearing and... less so? I think that'd be a fun start!

now... lemme talk blue to ya.

if we're talking about hobbies, well. stop me if you think you've heard this before -- leo loves training. for all of the guys, ninjutsu is a way of life; it's how they survive the world, how they connect with themselves and one another; it's their entire culture that the foundations of their family is built upon. and that's super neat. but watch 2k3 for like, one episode, and you'll very quickly see that the only one that fully leans into it is leo. mikey and don have their own interests that they often can't get to quickly enough once the day's training session ends. i think raph actually enjoys training recreationally as well -- but he's more interested in the physical aspect, spending his energy, bulking up, not necessarily focusing on skill or technique. i like to imagine that growing up, leo and raph spent a lot of time in the dojo together doing their own thing, kind of "separate but together"; before casey came along and raph got into hanging out topside with him.

leo, though, he throws himself fully into training. he's incredibly dedicated to it not only because of his sense of responsibility, but because he genuinely enjoys it -- he enjoys improving his technique, his skill. he enjoys the repetition of learning, which helps to calm and center him. he enjoys meditation, which helps him focus and clear his mind. as an introvert, and precisely because his family doesn't hang around the dojo as often as he does, leo's solo training time is his time -- it's his chance to relax and decompress. i think it's exactly why he spiraled harder and harder in season 4 no matter how much training he did: at that point, it was no longer a hobby, but an obsession. leonardo normally uses training as a healthy outlet, but when he channeled his exodus trauma into it, he removed his main method of decompression and replaced it with the intent to fuel that exact trauma. (sidebar, though i've talked about it before: i also feel like this is why fast forward is so excellent at showing leo's character growth. he is extremely zen and such a huge advocate of healthy self-reflection in the way he coaches cody and his clone. my sweet boy, so proud of him in that season.)

now i know what you may be thinking. and you're right. there's more to leo than his life in the dojo... so let's talk about some other hobbies i like to think he has!

so here's the thing, and i think it's something else i've touched on before... but i think leo actually has a very strong bond with donnie. their temperaments are very similar, they feel similar burdens when it comes to protecting the family, etc... and to be honest, i think they bond a lot over the same nerdy hobbies too! i think leo is a huge freaking nerd.

i legit think that donatello has probably absorbed his brother into more than one of his hobbies, both unwillingly and not. some things click for leo, and some things don't. some things he has a hard time getting into until he discovers a certain aspect of it or views it from a different perspective. but he is very often willing to try anything.

for example, i imagine that growing up, leo and don played a lot of chess together. don used to overwhelmingly win, until they got older and older leo got deeper and deeper into the tactical aspect, and soon he was beating don quite soundly more often than he wasn't. don started getting into engineering manuals and physics books, while leo started getting into history texts and military treatises, but both shared a love for novels and would swap their favorites regularly. and they still play chess, of course.

don got into nerdy sci-fi shows. like, really into them. and leo couldn't quite pick up the thread on that one, but he was content to endure every fourth movie night when it was don's turn to pick. and slowly he began getting drawn into it, the same way anyone does -- he enjoyed the campiness of the plot, how absolutely ludicrous the fight choreography was, how sometimes there were actually deep and thoughtful moments. it was both a welcome respite from the intensity of his reality and something he could put to practical use if he had to, like, steal a spaceship one day, though the odds of that happening seemed pretty low⁽ˡᵒˡ⁾. he was never able to quote any of the episodes verbatim like donnie, but it was something they could discuss and lightly bicker about during the times when leo is mindlessly helping out around don's lab. (more on that in a sec.)

also? i can absolutely. totally. easily see leo as a tabletop game enthusiast. i think i'll refrain from getting lost in the weeds on that once, since this is already starting to run long, but i just want to put that in your mind. tmnt dnd gaming nights. let that sit for a second.

okay moving on.

i genuinely think that leo just likes existing in the general vicinity of his family and extended family. not necessarily doing anything; just being there, doing something with his hands. if don is working on a project, leo may drift in, and don will ask him to hand him certain tools or read aloud certain notes on the screen, because he knows the deal. if raph is lifting weights and leo wanders over from his own training session, raph may ask him to spot, or set up the next pair of weights, because he knows how it is. if mikey is sitting in the living room playing video games and leo appears on the couch next to him, he might toss him a controller, or he may just start blabbering about what game he's playing and what level he's on, because he's got it. if april and casey are tidying up her shop for a new shipment of merchandise and leo just randomly appears in the window, feathered duster in hand, april smiles and puts on water for tea and casey teases him and throws him a broom instead without blinking. because that's just how leo is.

the thing is, leo is one of those people who have such a strong presence that -- as long as he's not trying to hide it, of course -- you know he's there because he carries such an atmosphere with him. on the other hand, leonardo is the type of person who is genuinely content to just be in the background. which may sound totally at odds with the whole leader schtick, but i think it's just kind of this duality he has: he can be both at the forefront and in the background, depending on the situation and what is needed from him. does this mean he doesn't have his own hobbies or interests? of course not! but even canonically, throughout the series leo is shown to be just as happy with his hands off the reins so long as there's not a mission in front of him. and i think it's precisely this lack of that constant need for control that shows just how whole and rich leo's inner life is, how he feels full and complete without his leadership/big brother role completely defining him, and how season 4 rips that carpet from under his feet to show the unhealthy side of that particular coin.

so as much as a cop-out answer it may sound like -- i think that leo just enjoys doing things with his brothers. he likes rooftop runs with them. he likes pizza and cards with them. he likes movies, sports, and games with them. but he's also his own person, and he enjoys being in his head, and he has hobbies that help him make his head a healthy place to be; his family absolutely respects that quality, and leonardo is a much more well adjusted person for it.

er.... i didn't really get into quirks or bad habits, but this has run really long already and it's getting late, lmao. so i think i will stop here for now. =w= thank you for letting me ramble again about my blue boy, anon; i know i'm slow, but hopefully i rambled enough to make up for it!

Yes!!!

Victoire:

So everything changes when Dominique is born

Victoire is seven years older than her, eight years older than Louis

All of her parents attention is taken off of her, and they didn’t even ask her if she wanted to be an older sibling

Basically she doesn’t like the baby boom in the family, James, Freddie, and Roxanne are about five years younger than her, while Rose and Al are six

By the time she Hogwarts age she can’t wait to be out of the cottage

Whenever she comes home, she’s treated like the family babysitter, along with Teddy

She was the first person to notice something was off with Louis

By the time she’s sixteen, she starts to make her only plans for the summer with her grandparents in France and Tante Gabrielle

It’s where she meets her future husband SJ

They have a long distance relationship until SJ just shows up at the Memorial Day on May 2nd

He’s two years older than Victoire and already graduated from Beauxbatons

Bill doesn’t like him, he just sees all the trouble he’s going to cause for them, but Victoire doesn’t care

A few days after she’s graduated from Hogwarts, she just leaves

She’s tired of the fighting, she tired of Bill being a bit controlling, she’s just tired of it all

She and SJ run off to France together and elope and get pregnant very quickly

(Because they were already pregnant)

Arcturus, their oldest is born in January

Victoire and SJ got into a fight before she went into labor and SJ left her to clear his head, but by the time he came back she was gone

He calls her parents in hope that they can help, and this is what they had fought about

She had lied to him about her parents knowing where she was, and had refused to get into contact with them about the baby

Bill and Fleur bring them both back to England with them and get them a flat and SJ a job with Teddy

But Victoire doesn’t want any of it

When she gets on her feet, she and SJ move out of the flat and into their own place hidden from the rest of the family

They rarely go to any family events, and she never returns back to Shell Cottage

She just doesn’t want what her parents want for her, she wants to live the life she choose for herself and if it means cutting out her parents she will

And it’s exactly what she does

Dominique:

She Bill’s favorite and she knows it and uses it to her advantage

She isn’t close to Fleur, she just isn’t the daughter that Fleur wanted

She isn’t graceful or calm or elegant, she’s a tomboy and loves it

She refuses to wear skirts or heels, she’s rubbish at French, and she’s the family gossip

Dominique knows all the secrets and loves to share them

Until she becomes the secret

Getting pregnant at sixteen with the wrong twins baby was not the plan, it was supposed to be Lorcan, not Lysander

Though honestly the getting pregnant part was really really not the plan at all

Add in the fact that she doesn’t want to tell her parents, she doesn’t seek comfort in her parents, and she doesn’t want to even factor in her parents, you get a pretty big strain

They want her to keep the baby and drop out of Hogwarts and raise him at home with their help

Dominique instead gives him up for adoption

She can’t raise this baby, she’s too young and immature and she knows this about herself

They try to put that year behind them, but it lingers whenever Dominique is around and she knows it

Then she drops the bombshell that she got accepted into Muggle University

Bill and Fleur are furious, they think she’s trying to follow the same path as Victoire

She leaves days after she graduates from Hogwarts and moves into the dorms

She builds a life at university, she waits tables and does well in her classes, when she graduates she marries Lorcan

Her parents don’t approve of Lorcan or Lysander anymore after the whole pregnancy thing

Lorcan covered for Lysander and took the blame, until everything just fell apart

They never acknowledge Lorcan as family and it’s enough for Dominique to cut them out of their lives

Louis:

Not only is Louis the biggest surprise of their life, but he was also born very early, about ten weeks early

He was just barely four pounds when he was born, and completely silent

He lived in the NICU until September that year (he was born in April)

He brought so much stress to them and it didn’t stop from there

I mentioned earlier that Victoire was the first person to notice something was weird about Louis, that’s true

He has autism and Bill and Fleur just aren’t capable of handling it

Actually, they are, they just refuse to

It’s just a huge disappointment to them, Bill especially

Louis has no interest in Quidditch or chocolate frog cards or anything that Bill grew up with

But he loves to paint and sketch, he’s loves to go surfing and ride around on his longboard, he loves to drive the keep when he’s old enough

He speaks French best out of all three of them, even Victoire after she lived in France for six months with SJ

The issues are that he’s too quiet, he has extreme light sensitivity, he hates anyone to touch him without consent and even with consent

Everything has to be thought through and his family is too impulsive for that

Louis notices all the little cracks in their marriage, long before Bill and Fleur do

He can chart their fights in a three act play, and he only needs to say which act they’re in for Dominique to know when they can go downstairs

He knows more than anyone how much his sisters come and go from the cottage, his bedroom has the easiest window to climb back into

When he and Mia start dating, his parents aren’t concerned about Mia, they’re concerned about how he can be in a relationship

How he can be normal

Mia puts the ground rules down right away, mostly that there is no such thing as normal

Louis feels the same distance from his parents that his sisters alway talk about

When he graduates, it’s the first time that both of his sisters and his parents are all together in years

And it’s a mess

He and Mia move into a little cottage and elope and Louis finally feels ‘normal’ as his parents call it

Then Mia gets pregnant, and both his parents and her parents don’t think that they should be as happy as they are

They don’t think that Louis can raise a baby

But Mia does, and that’s all that matters

Louis is more in contact with his parents than his sisters, but the strain is obvious

I really love the Delacour/Weasley family, but I honestly don’t think that Bill and Fleur would be good parents or have great relationships with their children

Hanako has a panic attack! I really don’t think this kid is mentally okay so i would really like to see how you think his panic attack would be like

A/N: Forgot to include “…and how you, as his soulmate, would treat him.” Honestly I can add more to this, we’ll see! Hanako seems vulnerable when he would have panic attacks. Instead of getting an annoying child who needs constant care and affection, you’d see him as someone who needs to be protected somehow. I hope you like it, though! Let’s look forward to more headcanons later on.

Everyone knows how Hanako is. He’s playful, you would find him mess around with Kou and tease him often. If you’re unlucky, you get dragged into it, too. He’s childish. If he doesn’t get what he wants, he would act like a brat about it. If annoying you meant getting what he wanted, he won’t stop until you decide to say yes.

He’s a mess, really, which makes you wonder if he was even capable of having panic attacks in the first place. Hanako seemed like the type of guy who knows what he’s doing — everything’s well planned, giving him no reason to be worried or embarrassed — so, how was he like?

There’s still a lot you don’t know about the honorable number 7, nor his previous self, Yugi Amane. As a ghost, you’d figured he won’t worry. It’s not like he has anything to lose, anyway.

Hanako did have his regrets, however, and he hasn’t been completely open to you about his younger brother, Tsukasa, and their past. You’ve met the other Yugi when he appeared on the rooftop, and that’s the first time you’ve ever seen Hanako be still, as if the numbness of his body was taking a toll on him.

He’s saved you from spirits countless of times, but this was that one time you were able to save him since he didn’t move, at all, just seeing the sight of his younger brother in front of him kept him still.

Hanako wouldn’t often get panic attacks, but when he does; his emotions get the best of him. He’s… not normal, his mindset isn’t either and you can tell because of how he’s behaving and his personality, but he’s not in the proper condition to face anyone.

If he feels a tiny bit threatened, or even terrified, he’s easily overwhelmed and he can behave inappropriately. By this, he can harm you without intending to do so.

With his case on the younger brother, he hasn’t moved on yet. There’s always that lingering feeling of guilt, disgust with himself, and it only gets worse when he sees just how welcoming Tsukasa was, regardless of being the same guy who murdered him.

You can’t do much without Hanako opening up to you, and it’s better not to force him. Instead, when he would be frozen in place (this only happens when he faces Tsukasa so far…) You would be there, as his friend, and hold onto him.

You would call out to his name, and he would snap out of his thoughts thanks to the sound of your voice. You would always be around, you promised to stay by his side as his assistant before he can trust himself to tell you his problems.

You thought he would only have his panic attack whenever Tsukasa was around, but apparently he would also experience that when he can’t seem to find you anywhere.

Out of nowhere, the older Minamoto had asked you to help him by accompanying him as he checked out the clubs that were up for registration. Of course, seeing it was sudden, no one ever really saw where you went or what you did.

You didn’t show up in the bathroom, making Hanako worry. He tried to ignore the feeling, though, and figured you were with Kou. When Kou showed up, his worries only grew deeper and his hands started to tremble.

“Kid, where’s (N/N)-chan? Have you seen her?” Hanako asked Kou, hiding his trembling hands in his pockets. Kou gave him a dirty look, “We’re literally just the same age! No, not that I'm aware of... I haven’t heard from senpai.”

God, it took Hanako everything to keep himself calm. Or at least, he tried to. He started to look after you as he searched around the academy, his heart dropping when he came to the realization he checked the last place and still hasn’t seen you.

He didn’t know what to do. He didn’t even had the slightest clue as to why he has a bad feeling over you disappearing. What if a supernatural got to you and he wasn't around to save you? What if he was too late? What if-

Hanako was tearing up, he didn’t realize the tears streaming down his cheeks were the sign of how much he cared for you. He couldn’t bear the thought of losing you. He fell to his knees, hands covering his eyes. To anyone seeing the sight, it’s bad.

The poor boy seemed so fragile, like a lost kid who hasn’t found his way back home, and he fears that it might just be the case. He was on the verge of giving up until he heard your soft voice calling out to him.

“Hanako-kun? Wait, are you crying?!” As soon as you saw him on the ground, looking up to you with helpless eyes, you immediately ran up to him and cupped his cheeks, making him face you.

It took him awhile to respond, and when he did, he didn’t waste anymore time before pulling you into his arms, completely hugging you close to him.

He felt cold, and worse of all, he was shaking. “I didn’t know where you were,” He whispered to you, his grip doesn’t seem like he’s planning to let you go anytime soon. “I was so scared, I don’t know—I didn’t want you to leave me.” The way he expressed his genuine worries to you was enough to let you know that for once, he actually meant his words.

Hanako trusted you more than he ever trusted himself. You haven't seen him vulnerable in front of anyone. Right now, giving him comfort and reassurance that he’s never alone and you won’t ever leave him was all he needed. That’s what you did.

With you returning the hug as you placed your hand to gently pat on his back, it was enough for a response that Hanako understood. He didn’t want to lose you, and he wanted to make sure of it.

Fandom Memes [open!] (shout out to firefox for crashing and making me rewrite this like twice-so i continued to add more to this because why not)

When I started shipping them: Oh this is actually a funny story- I can’t quite remember when I started shipping them but according to AO3, I read a chickles fanfic in November 2019 (the only one i didn’t reread because im sure there were others i read too) and that was around when I began starting the show. But around that time, I SWEAR when I looked at Charles wiki, there was some line there that was along the lines of ‘Charles and Pickles had slept together sometime before Dethklok. while pickles doesn’t remember it, charles does’ I don’t even know if it was possibly a fever dream, mixing up a fanfic as canon, or I just happened to scroll through it when someone threw the line in BUT I CONSIDERED IT CANON and I lowkey waited for that scene as I remembered it on/off and it didn’t take until April 2020 when I finally finished the show to realize that it wasn’t canon D: so thanks to fanfics and probably misreading something in November-december 2019 that’s when I shipped them :D (Also if anyone knows where I may have gotten this from pls link me)

My thoughts: I love them!! They’ve made me happy shipping them and they’re just a good and wholesome ship to me! I think it has everything I could ever want in a ship; the angsty and sad moments but also the happy ones- I don’t know how I can articulate just how much they clicked with me but they really did! They’re like the ultimate band parents,

What makes me happy about them: I think I love how they can bring something in each other that they normally wouldn’t be able to do themselves. I headcanon Pickles as someone with ADHD (and aries because hi im an aries with ADHD) and I think Charles would be able to help calm him down and keep him focused or at least stimulated when he needs to be. Being with Charles can help him be a bit controlled (Though sometimes not by much when he wants to be a tease haha). I love the idea too of Pickles being able to bring Charles to have a more exciting day or just being able to help break routine a bit. Pickles sometimes likes to do things on the spur of the night just to keep himself entertained and Charles prefers to keep things in a schedule. They would find a compromise where Charles clears out a day and Pickles just takes him somewhere random. Is it a concert? Forest? Amusement park? Half the fun’s in not knowing! But Charles enjoys that he can be a bit looser and actually get to laugh and smile and just be having the time of his life with him-

What makes me sad about them: I think Doomstar/Post-doomstar and even the events between season 2 and 3 makes me sad, it breaks my heart in two just thinking about it. Pickles...would be so fucking devastated when Charles died, especially if we go by if they met during Snakes N’ Barrels and he may have never gotten a chance to confess his feelings (or he did for more sadness) and Post-doomstar? He probably ends up blaming Charles leaving on himself and- though depending on where we’re thinking of the possibility of the timeline of their relationship, Going Downklok may have wrecked their relationship because alternatively, Pickles may not have flirted with Abigail but probably something else caused them to break up or destroy their relationship. There was a lot of tension/build up in that episode so I guess their build up and eventual burst would be feelings having to resurface, possibly Pickles getting too far in his addictions and Charles still revealing nothing about what happened during his absence or why he came back; so then you get the dinner scene and it was the straw that broke the camel’s back to get him to quit and then all the events unfold and Pickles just blames himself so heavily on it oh god i need to WRITE THIS

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: I don’t think there’s anything in fanfic that annoys me when people write them- It’s more of being uncomfortable/disturbed?...there were a few fics I came across where Charles was borderline abusive/overly sadistic (and one where I wish I hadn’t read-) that left a bad taste in my mouth after reading it. I just feel like that’s way too OOC and Charles definitely isn’t the type of person to be an abusive asshole and/or would definitely know the boundaries of being sadistic in the bedroom while still making sure his partner is into it/feels safe. But i guess that kinda goes in general for any Charles/character fics-

Things I look for in fanfic: I think them being in character, an interesting plot line, and just it being well written is all i can ask for haha-I honestly love any Chickles fanfic out there; I think the things I look for in particular are either his reactions to seeing Charles when he comes back or anything post doomstar but also implying that they met during Snakes N Barrels help

My wishlist:

I guess I’m just gonna shove in things I hope to write actually- (screaming at me to write particular fics helps motivate me so go @ it-)

A Star reader AU: this actually would be the one of the first (probs second or third) Chickles fic I had ever written as I had drafted it around ago even though I had initially planned for the Chickles to kinda be hinted at but with what I know now, would make it more prevalent. If anyone has read Blood Red Road by Moira Young you might see where I’m going but basically, there was a character who was able to read the stars and predict the future. (if you’re hoping the novel goes more into that i’m sorry-) So if we make Charles one of those people, then probably adds more depth to why he chose to work with Dethklok right? :D Secret singer fic: I AM writing that one!! I just got sidetracked but God I’m gonna get back to it as soon as I can!! Basically for anyone else reading this, Charles and his friends put up a bet to see how difficult (or easy) it would be for Charles to become internet famous by having him post covers/original songs under an anonymous name. It becomes a chaotic mess when he gets more than he bargained for and does end up gaining some popularity, someone on the internet spreads the rumor the singer is someone famous, and a particular someone came across those songs and finds the lyrics almost a little too relatable. That fic where instead of Pickles being happy that Charles is back from the dead and they can live happily ever after, he becomes incredibly distressed and heartbroken because he ends up suffering major trauma. because seeing your bf ‘die’ all bloodied and mangled and coming back with only a scar and secrets he won’t tell you? That’s definitely years worth of therapy right there. That is like the only fic of this list even remotely close to finishing but God, definitely one of the most difficult to write- Fics where they met before/during Snakes N’ Barrels. I need to write one or two fics on that because I consider it canon. I’m sure I have mentioned drafting one or two fics like that?? Gotta look through my evernotes-

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: I’m sorry but no my mind refuses to delve further- And i mean I’ve been digging Magnus/Charles lately and we all know how that wouldn’t last either so they’re meant for each other fjkdsfjlk

My happily ever after for them: The boys defeat Salacia, Charles and Pickles reunite and kiss for the first time in such a long time. They’re finally happy together and get to officially date (or continue where they left off). Charles is able to retire as the priest as his work is completed (or he manages to get it more public considering they saved the world so most likely it’d be a recognized religion) They get married, and when Dethklok officially retires, they buy a few houses, maybe even do music projects together or Charles takes over Crystal Mountain Records actually and Pickles helps out by being one of the music producers, they adopt a cat or dog or both, and just be happy with each other :D

I know @beskar-tano and @artiza-n have been feeling shitty and @buckysbeloved and @anakinlove were feeling a little worse for wear, too, if I remember correctly. Wishing all of y’all (+ anyone else who might be feeling under the weather) fast recoveries!!

Let me start this off by saying that Anakin does not get grossed out. He’s surrounded by dying soldiers everyday and when they’re deep on missions? Safe to say they don’t always have access to a nice refresher. So if you ever try and say you’re disgusting or he can’t see you because you feel too gross, he’s having none of that.

First, he reassures you that you’re beautiful. And it’s true, too. You could literally be on death’s door and Anakin would still think you’re the most gorgeous person he’s ever seen. And second, he’s just completely unphased.

He will literally stay by your side the entire time until you feel better and then for at least a good 48 hours afterward, wanting to make sure you’re back to your normal self.

The only time he’d leave is if you asked him to. He knows that sometimes you just feel really shitty and need to be alone. Most of all, he wants you to be comfortable. But if you do ask him to leave, he keeps close. He won’t go on missions and keeps his commlink on him at all times, just in case you need anything. And if he doesn’t hear from you in a while, he checks in to make sure you’re okay.

If you’re just being stubborn and/or it’s difficult for you to accept help even though you desperately want it, he can see through that. He knows you so well, he can tell if you actually want space or if you just don’t know how to ask for his comfort. And if it’s the latter, he gives you really easy outs. He’ll put it on him, saying “I’d feel a lot better if I was here, my love. I want to make sure you’re okay, is that alright?”

If you have a favorite piece of his clothing, he lets you wear it. This is not just when you’re sick, either. But if you’re not feeling great, he makes extra sure to wash it if it's not already clean and brings it over so you can have it.

Anakin gets nervous when you’re sick; he feels helpless and you’re normally so strong and now you’re weak and in pain and there’s nothing he can do to make it go away. To compensate, he’s constantly doing stuff for you. It helps him keep busy and he feels like he’s helping you, so it’s a natural solution.

Will bring you absolutely anything you ask for. And if you say you’re fine and that you don’t need anything, he’ll probably still bring you stuff. He makes sure you’re always stocked up with tissues, food, water, medicine, blankets, etc.

I headcanon Anakin as a good cook, at least with a few core recipes. One of the recipes he made sure to memorize is a really good soup. He asked you what your favorite one was one time randomly after you’d been dating for about a month because he wanted to file it away in his brain for whenever you’re sick. And now as soon as you give even one cough or sniffle, you better believe he’ll make it for you.

He basically babies you the entire time. You’re not lifting a finger until the sickness goes away. He’ll bring stuff to you or, if you’re cuddling with him, he floats it over with the Force. And if you absolutely need to go somewhere, he carries you.

He’ll rub your back or anywhere else you might be feeling achy. I’ve talked about it before and I shall reiterate: Anakin is amazing at massages. He uses his warm, flesh hand first to start to work into your muscles, getting them ready before using his metal hand to apply a bit more pressure and work out the knots.

If you’re throwing up, he’s in the refresher with you. He rubs your back and pulls your hair out of your face, giving you soft encouragement the whole time. “Get it out, it’s alright. You’re gonna be just fine, you’ll feel better afterward, okay? You just need to get it out of your system, love.” It’s quite soothing, especially if you’re the kind of person who hates vomiting.

Afterward, he knows that you might be feeling really clammy and weak. If you want, he’ll gently wash your skin to get the sweat off. He’ll let you lean into him as you brush your teeth or, honestly, he’s fine doing that for you, too.

Anakin will wait with you on the cold, tile floor for as long as you need. As soon as you feel okay enough to move or you fall asleep, he scoops you into his arms and carries you back to bed.

And if you’re throwing up at night or just overall feeling too sick to sleep, he stays up with you. He’s not going to let you be alone.

He’ll also tell you stories or just talk to you about whatever comes to mind to distract you. He doesn’t want you to spend all day just thinking about how horrible you feel so he tries to take your mind off it and entertain you whenever possible.

Once, when Anakin was making you some food in the kitchen, you decided to try and get up and go to the refresher alone. You made it a few steps before you were hit with an overwhelming wave of dizziness and lightheadedness and just quietly called Anakin’s name, unsure if he would even hear you. It was practically a reflex. But he did and he ran over immediately, bracing you against him to steady yourself as he called a chair over to him with the Force, firmly sitting you down.

He was so terrified when he saw your face draining of color and your body begin to crumple to the floor, he just hugged you and kissed the top of your head. He asked, “Why did you do that?! What would have happened if I didn’t hear you?!”

“I just… you’ve done so much for me and you were already making me food and I don’t know I thought I could do it…” You answer lamely, tears pricking in your eyes as you realize not only how flawed your logic is, but also that you made him worry.

Anakin notices and quickly hushes you. “It’s okay, I’m not mad. Just scared me, that’s all. But angel we’ve talked about this! I want to help you, I like that. And besides, if you’d fallen and cracked your head open you’d need a lot more help than a ride to the refresher, huh?”

You just nod against him and pull him closer to you. Because you’re sitting, he normally stands between your thighs and you hug his waist, pressing your face into his middle. He’ll hunch over a bit, rubbing up and down your back and your arms while pressing kisses to the top of your head.

If your throat is sore and it hurts to talk, you’re not talking. Anakin actually has a little fun with this one. Don’t get me wrong, he hates that you’re in pain, but he likes to tease you a bit. He’ll be like “Y/N, do you think I should swap Obi-Wan’s face wash with shampoo?” and you’re shaking your head but he just says “Oh, I guess I can’t hear any objections...”

But then you’ll croak out a “Anakin, no!” And he’s immediately “Shh! Don’t talk, you'll hurt your vocal chords!! I wouldn’t have done it anyway!! Stop talking!! Not until you feel better!!”

If you have a headache, he’ll let you rest your head in his lap. He uses the Force to close the blinds and turn off the lights and makes sure to talk in an extra quiet tone. He’s calmly petting your hair with his flesh hand while massaging your scalp with the metal one. He’ll also massage your temples, doing so until you feel enough relief to sleep.

He also constantly brings you cold compresses for your forehead, especially if you’re feverish. He gets you to lay down in bed and then he’ll sit beside you, one hand holding the compress to you and the other gently tracing patterns on your skin.

Sometimes, you’re sick and emotional and the pain is really overwhelming. He gets this and if crying is going to help you, he wants you to. He’ll hold you in his arms, still, not wanting to worsen any of the symptoms by rocking you. And he’s so encouraging.

“Let it out, my love. There you go, it’s okay. I know it hurts, I know,” He’ll coo, “Baby I know, I’m so sorry. I’ve got you, you can cry, it’s okay.”

And once you’re done he continues to hold you, cuddling you for the rest of the day.

Also, Anakin will literally hold and kiss you the entire time. Mans is not worried about catching anything from you. And if you ever say “No, Ani, you’ll get sick!!” He just “no I won’t”

But, if you’re really serious, he’ll refrain from kissing your lips. That’s okay, though! More forehead and top of the head kisses for you <3

He’s just really accommodating and kind. He hates seeing you sick and in pain and just wants to shower you with love and care and affection until it goes away.

thank you so so much for this ask! so i’m gonna be honest --- i love this aspect of August’s character. so much. i can’t wait to explore it more and I say that because.....well, I haven’t done it a whole lot of justice yet as far as development goes lmao. forgive me for that, as time goes on i should def have some specific examples of the types of stories he creates and tells to his clientele. but i’ve only had this boy since late april of this year, and developing all aspects of my muses so they resemble a multi-faceted, nuanced person has always taken me some time. took me five years with my last muse n i’m still not even all that content with him hsjdns.

ANYWAY! ALL THAT ASIDE. i do have some lil headcanons about Gus and his storytelling / creative process, so here’s a quick lil list of random bits n bobs about that ! :

August puts a lot of time and thought into his stories, especially re: his audience and the kind of mood he’s in. does he want to instill a moral lesson in the more impressionable youngsters? does he want to captivate kids with a sense of immersive adventure? or does he want to HORRIFY and INTRIGUE the adults who are seeking a little entertainment, and get a little ego stroke from watching them JUMP in their seats? for a gentle giant, he does have a deep fascination in the macabre and the frightening. whenever he has an audience of teens and adults, it’s a real treat for him. he loves telling horror stories!

he’s very organized about the aforementioned considerations. he has stacks upon stacks of journals in his bedroom where he writes down notes on his tall tales and sketches the people and creatures featured in them, be they wholly original works or his own twists on stories passed down from each generation. and he separates them all on the shelf by genre!

true to traditional spoken-word form, he’ll usually modify the tales a bit each time he tells them, to better connect with his given audience that day.

he loves using any medium he can to tell his stories --- spoken word being the most obvious. but Gus has even been known to write and perform songs which recount the tales, or cook any mentioned food to serve to his forge’s guests while they gather around his anvil to listen. and he especially loves to make grand, symbolic metal sculptures of the characters or beasts featured in the stories as he spins them. he wants to make the whole experience feel as physically present and real for his audience as he can, no matter what age they are.

Gus draws a lot of inspiration just from people/ nature-watching! there’s not a day that goes by where he isn’t sat outside his workshop on a lunch break, taking notes on whatever he sees. he uses the “and then” approach for drafting his stories a lot. for example, he’ll just jot down anything simple he sees, like a man drinking coffee, and let his imagination run wild with it until he’s got the bones of a plot. it’s not very cohesive at this stage and definitely lacking a lot of substance, but it’s a very fun start for him. honestly? even if he ends up scrapping the whole concept that day, he loves seeing just how far he can push the boundaries of believability with his stories, how grand he can get away with making them when they sprout from such an everyday premise.

storytelling even takes shape in his weaponry creations, although these focus much more specifically on the individual. Gus’s guns and blades are purely artisanal designs, and therefore he makes it MANDATORY that anyone commissioning him for weapons shares a drink or two with him first. he never knows who he might be making a firearm for --- the next great american bounty hunter? an infamous outlaw forever immortalized by history? an unarguable hero to mankind itself? but even if they just end up amounting to a simple farmer protecting his land from coyotes, he designs his works with the hopes that they’ll be a FEATURE in that individual’s life. hopes that the weapon crafted by his hand will be just as renowned as its wielder. they’re highly personal pieces, tailored with the commissioner’s life in mind. and being a man who creates and retells folklore himself, Gus knows that it makes storytelling much easier if the guns are as unique as the characters. and have names. he will also require that you name the piece before he gives you your purchase lmao.

in verses where he has partners, and even kids? they’re definitely the first to hear his story ideas so that he can get some feedback. he also creates personal creative works for his lovers/ spouses/ babies/ friends and honorary family. meant only for their eyes and ears.

he’s as avid a reader as he is a writer. on his days off, you won’t find Gus at the saloon, but at the bookseller and printing shop asking the owner (and his longtime buddy) Barney what new works he’s got for sale. by the late 1800s, public libraries were also popping up all over the US! and chances are, if he’s not at Barney’s making conversation about his most recent purchase, or at the hardware shop scouring the stock for dying discount plants to bring home and nurture back to health? yeah. he’s at the library.

Thursday, August 8th

The day was a panther. It prowled up behind him and pounced whenever it was least expected to.

He couldn’t believe tonight was the night. Was it really August already? Surely it couldn’t be....it still felt like April was barely on the horizons, let alone August!

He wanted this day to come as fast as possible, and every passing hour since he decided this would be the day, he itched it would speed up. Now that it was here however, he had an inkling his wish had come true...because time with his lover sped by so damn quickly, suddenly it was August 8th.

The day Shin Nemoto would propose to Hari Kurono

He was more than excited, to say the least. Tonight he would be engaged, after all. What wasn’t there to be excited about? Especially since he was going to be engaged to the man who made him whole, who made him happy, who made him him

Honestly he prided himself more than a man of his age and stature should have, but he very seldom cared. Everyone had thought Hari would be the first to propose (and had placed copious amounts of bets on it, thanks to Sakaki)

How could he blame them though? Hari was the more romantic one: the one who always held his hand, showered him with fluttering compliments and expressed his love like he was in a play

Shin on the other hand, was the mature one- the hardworking, stoic one who expressed a small love rather than a grandiose expansion of it. But he made sure Hari knew how much that small love meant to him

And surely after he proposed, the oversquad would know how serious he truly was about he and Hari

The latter was at work today, going about his daily duties alongside Overhaul as per usual. Shin luckily got the day off, “for being so hardworking” Overhaul stated with a smile, “you deserve it”

He was thankful his boss was on his side for once

He checked the time. 2pm

Thankfully his mind was logical and worked in a system that had a perfect timetable for everything. Hari was home at 6pm. He had 4 hours to clean, shower and make dinner. Hari often took approximately 45 minutes to prepare himself for the night, so dinner should be ready at around 6:50pm. Then, by at least 7:30pm- he would be an engaged man

Shin felt like he was keeping a secret, and it was one he couldn’t wait to share with the love of his life

5:37pm

Shin was sat on the couch, speech in hand. It had been memorised for months now, but still he spent the remaining minutes correcting any grammar mistakes (which he knew he didn’t need to do, but it helped him forget about the nerves)

With every second more nerves rose in his body. They made his heart race and his stomach do frontflips, and he wasn’t used to feeling all this emotion at once- so he didn’t know how to handle it. He focused on breathing straight, and made his way into the kitchen to finish up dinner.

The nerves couldn’t hurt him, he felt them before on his first date with Hari... he would get over them

After hiding his fears in cooking for a bit, he felt himself calm, thankfully- and he didn’t even notice the time, or hear the click of the door when it opened

“I’m hoo-ooomeee!” The adorable singsong voice of Hari sounded through, and soon his silhouette came into view

There he stood: His happiness. His Hari. His other half. His future.

And he had no idea what was coming to him...

After a quick kiss on the cheek and a small moment of love shared between the two, Hari excused himself to get ready for dinner

That gave Shin all the time in the world to ensure everything was perfect. He had the ring in one pocket, the speech in his other, the house spotless and the dinner ready to be served.

All that was left was the big moment...

7:12pm

Shin knew he was stalling. He and Hari were sat at their table for two, laughing about their days as per usual. Today, Hari was sharing a typically funny story about Tengai and Hoji, which created laughter throughout the small home

He waited until Hari was finished, the nerves kicking in like a timebomb. Thankfully, he was sat down, because his knees were weak. His palms were sweaty, face paling, and heart pumping

Luckily he hid it well through his exterior, and waited until he physically couldn’t anymore. The speech was ready to be read. The ring was pleading to be presented. His heart was craving to be claimed

“I love you, Hari-“ he began with a soft smile and vulnerable eyes, and watched as his partner chuckled

“That was random-“ he grinned, resting on a palm, “has someone gotten soft?”

“Hush, you know you’ve made me soft from the moment i met you-“

“That i do know, but hey?” Hari prompted, and Shin tilted his head

“I love you too-“ he puckered his lips playfully, an act than Shin knew all too well. He leant over the table and kissed him quickly and the smaller male grinned in response

“I can’t believe you’ve made a man so cold and emotionless turn into someone who gets excited in the mornings just to feel your warmth” Shin continued his speech and Hari only blushed with a smile, reaching down to intertwhine their fingers

“I always dreamt of living life alone.... working for Overhaul until i died...i never really had a purpose, did i?” he chuckled, “until i met you...”

“I feel the same...” Hari commented, and you could see already the glistening in his rounded eyes. He was in love.

“It’s been the greatest thing to find you dear... i thank every single God for giving me another chance at life, and to find love” he nodded, letting his heart pour out with all the sentiments he’s bottled up for so long

“I almost couldn’t imagine a life without you in it by my side....”

“I feel the same-“ Hari reassured, “i want to grow old and die right next to you Shin” he nodded, his serious side coming to head, “there’s no one else i’d rather have...or rather love than you...”

Shin heard Hari’s contribution to his speech, and suddenly it was more of a duet than a speech at all

Now Shin just had to finish the love song

He released Hari’s hand and hoped his knees wouldn’t buckle under the sheer weight of nerves, but he was ready nonetheless

He stood from the chair, then dropped to one knee, “that’s why i want to secure us...”

Before he could say or do anything else, Hari began to cry. He stood up in front of Shin and covered his face, trying to keep his whimpering and sniffles low while he held onto Shin’s every word

“You’ve made me a new person...i was so empty without you by my side and i...” he stopped to gulp, suddenly feeling a hot tear slide down his cheek. He didn’t even realise he was crying until then....

“Will you marry me, Hari?” He sniffled, smiling wider than he ever has before as his soulmate wiped his waterfall eyes, nodding with sheer excitement and confirming it with the word ‘yes’ stringing out of his mouth on repeat

Shin took the ring and placed it on Hari’s finger, before getting back to his feet and swooping him up into his arms- both of them still crying tears of utter joy

“I can’t believe you’re crying...” Hari sniffled, kissing his lips for what must have been the 8th time that second

“You make me come undone...” Shin giggled, and kissed Hari back, “i’m so in love with you...”

“And i’m so in love with you...” Hari reiterated, wrapping his arms around his soon-to-be husband

And everything fell into place

Challenge Accepted

“Can’t this class go one day without causing a catastrophe,” sighed Aizawa as he stared at his phone. “This sort of nonsense is the last thing they need three weeks into their 3rd year…” The teacher’s lounge exploded into laughter, used to the man’s grumbling.

“Give them a break, Shouta! They’re teenagers doing teenager things,” Yamada said with a chuckle.

“I know that, but did they really have to put a bullseye on themselves and Endeavor?” he sighed. Toshinori watched the exchange with half a head and eye. On one hand, he understood Aizawa’s complaint. It was reasonable. The boys were marking themselves for a certain story that could follow them for the rest of their lives. Which could be problematic if their relationship didn’t last. Not only that, the League of Villains was still a real threat. Not that the media wasn’t a threat of its own.

But at the same time, knowing what he did about young Midoriya and young Todoroki, he could not help but feel proud of them. Some people might see it as attention seeking, but he knew better. He had pieced together young Midoriya’s bullying past. He knew that coming out and owning up to his accidental post and confirming his relationship with young Todoroki was an act of bravery.

This was him saying, “I know that this is dangerous. I know people will talk. I know people will come after me and him. But I refuse to hide… I refuse to cower. This is something solely for myself that I will fight for to my last breath”. Midoriya was far braver than he ever was. He was willing to face the scrutiny that Toshinori refused to face. He was willing to face the repercussions of having loved ones. Something that even Nana had caved on.

But this 16-year-old was ready to fight for his own life, something that Toshinori himself had only started to do. Something that young Todoroki was finally beginning to do, too. His heart hurt to think of what that poor child had been through. Young Midoriya had his snow leopardess of a mother ready to leap to his defense against all threats at all times, even those he posed to himself. Young Todoroki had a broken home that relied on his battery and enslavement to remain standing. How alone had that poor boy been? Toshinori admired the strength it took for him to say: “It ends with me,” and “I refuse to become him”.

He hadn’t known how bad it was until a little less than a year ago. On his way to Recovery Girl’s office, he had heard voices. He immediately slowed down waiting for the conversation to end and the students to move on. But the hushed voices went on for a while.

“DAMN THE NOTES! IT’S NOT ABOUT THE FUCKING NOTES!” Toshinori jumped. The sudden explosion echoed off the walls. “…I’m sorry… I’m sorr—no, please stay, please… Shou—wait, damn it!” There was a small scuffle and then more hushed voices, one of which he recognized as a familiar wobbly voice. What on Earth was going on? As far as he knew, Midoriya and Todoroki were friends, practically joined at the hip. But now they were fighting. Concerned, he had crept closer and peered around the corner.

The two boys were huddled together in the middle of the walkway. Izuku was holding Todoroki’s wrists to his chest, tears making themselves at home on his face. He was whispering something fervently to Todoroki. He could only pinpoint it as simple apologies. After a moment, young Todoroki nodded and his successor relaxed slightly. He didn’t let go of the other boy’s wrists, he just slid his fingers up until they intertwined with his friend’s and squeezed them.

“I just—it frustrates me that he hurts you so badly… and you continue to let him,” Izuku choked out after a moment. Toshinori stiffened. Who… who dared to hurt one of his students? Todoroki’s shoulders drew up around his throat and he hunched over. The hero that was still in Toshinori’s body ached at the sight. The body language screamed ‘I’m scared’ and ‘Help me!’ but he was helpless to do so. All he could do was hope that his successor saw it.

Izuku didn’t disappoint. He released one of Todoroki’s hands and gently wrapped his fingers around his chin. He then guided their lips together in a tender kiss that left Toshinori flushing in guilt. It was quite clear that the two had been more than just friends for a while. Izuku had kissed him without hesitation. Todoroki opened his mouth,

“It’s fine… really, it’s honestly gotten better… I just got used to this,” he rasped as his shoulders relaxed. His voice and eyes pointed to the ground. Toshinori was starting to get an idea of what this conversation was about… and he didn’t like it.

“Shouto… baby. Do you even hear yourself?” Izuku croaked back. He sounded so heart-broken. “This isn’t getting used to—to a shirt that fits a little weirdly or a TV with bad reception! Being treated kindly and cared for should not be something a person gets “used to”!” More tears.

“I’m sorry,” Izuku shook his head wildly.

“No! No “I’m sorry”! You shouldn’t be apologizing for this! You didn’t do anything to deserve it!” Izuku hissed back. His eyes glittering darkly.

“I just need to work harder, is all… I let Yoarashi get under my skin and… it set me back…” Izuku howled frustration.

“No! Stop! Do not justify what that bas—Endeavor does to you, Shouto! I don’t care that I have to take notes for you when you come back from “visiting” home on the weekends! I do care that you barely exist for several days… it’s like watching a machine go through the motions. Then by the time you do come back… it’s just in time for him to steal you away again… That is what hurts me!” Toshinori leaned back around the corner letting the coolness of the stone at his back shock away the dizziness that had invaded his mind.

It all fit.

The thousand yard stare that would be young Todoroki’s default until called on. The many nights they had watched young Todoroki wander the common room unable to settle. Watching young Midoriya corral the young man and usher him to bed. The many times he would be nursing injuries that didn’t come from class training. The way he sometimes startled like a deer when voices became raised.

Abused.

One of his students was being abused.

And Izuku knew it.

Why…?

Why hadn’t he said anything?

“I just—wished you could see what I see, Shouto,” came Izuku’s voice. Toshinori looked back around. Izuku was still standing where they were before, but Todoroki had turned away from him. He had taken a few steps toward Toshinori’s position but stopped. His eyes were firmly planted in the ground.

“You are so talented… smart… funny, often unintentionally, but that’s ok…” Izuku said weakly with a chuckle. “You are so kind and strong! You give so much! I wish you could see that you are enough! Nothing about you is wrong or needs fixing, especially not by that—sorry excuse of a “hero”!” The venom with which Izuku spat out the word ‘hero’, made a shiver run down Toshinori’s spine. Shigaraki would be hard pressed to match it.

“Enough?” came a small echo. Todoroki’s arms were folded around himself, squeezing tight. He looked every bit the lost child he was right then. Toshinori’s heart twisted painfully. Suddenly, he was taken back to a day almost two years ago. A small boy with a mess of green curls folded in on himself, shaking with untold pathos, tears flowing freely.

You, too, can be a hero…

“You are always enough for me…” Izuku said softly into stillness between them. Todoroki’s knees hit the sidewalk and the boy wailed. How long…? Toshinori had wondered then. How long had that poor child been waiting for someone to see him? Like Izuku that day on the street, he was releasing years of pain. Wild, out of control sobs tore from Todoroki’s throat. They were only softened when Izuku gathered Todoroki into his arms and pressed the boy’s face into his chest.

Toshinori was brought back to the present by more of Yamada’s loud laughter. He shook his head but went back to work answering emails and working on his lesson plans. Even as he worked, his mind wandered back to the other instances that he accidently stumbled on romantic interactions between the two.

Midoriya. Fingers dancing by his side as he watched Todoroki triumph during a class exercise. Followed by Midoriya with his arms around Todoroki as he peppered his face with excited kisses, exclaiming how proud he was between each one. The other teen blushing but grinning under the onslaught. The two lost in their own world in a small alcove along one of the deserted hallways in the school.

Todoroki. Watching Midoriya as he tackled another class problem with the same determination as always. Eyes alight with so many different emotions, even if they didn’t make it onto his face. When Midoriya and his team completed their task in spectacular fashion, Todoroki swept his successor up in a hug, short and to point. Toshinori just caught the fleeting, but intense glance of admiration and adoration in both boy’s eyes before they separated.

Toshinori had fibbed to young Izuku in the infirmary a few days prior. While the teachers were keeping a closer eye on the students and their whereabouts, he had not learned about their relationship through school surveillance he had known since that conversation he had overheard. His guilt kept him from owning up to his eavesdropping.

“Well… I knew that wouldn’t take long,” sighed Aizawa. Toshinori looked up. Most of the teachers were gathered around the man. Toshinori joined them. Endeavor had left a rather sternly worded comment on the school’s social media page… in the direct messages, of course. The man had an image to maintain after all.

It was a rambling rant about image and who knows what else. But his last paragraph, aimed at Toshinori specifically, made him see red.

‘I challenge you to quit playing at being a teacher and let someone else show Shouto how to be a proper hero! I did not spend all that time training him for your protégée to squander it! He is well aware of Shouto’s purpose and he is using my son’s mindless infatuation to spite me. Do your job and tell that boy of yours to play with someone else…’

Play?! This fool of a man thinks that Izuku is playing?! The same Izuku that was desperately trying to hold the boy you broke together? The Izuku that was proving daily that he would be a better hero than even he had been? That Izuku?!

“May I?” Toshinori asked. Aizawa gave him a dubious look… but got up from his chair. Toshinori took a seat in front of the monitor. His fingers flew over the keyboard with no hesitation.

‘This is All Might. I am not sure what your idea of Shouto’s purpose is or why you think young Midoriya knows about it. But… as far as myself and the staff here at UA are concerned the only purpose young Todoroki has here is to be a good student. Which he excels at marvelously. He is here to grow and learn, sometimes about things outside of academics and combat.

We technically cannot say or do anything regarding their relationship as there are no rules against this. It violates their social autonomy something coded not only in UA’s bylaws but Musutafu’s as well. Our hands are tied in this matter.

As for your challenge, I will admit that I am still very new to teaching and am learning as I go. But if your challenge is to be a better teacher that helps young Todoroki continue to grow into the wonderful young man I know he can be… then: Challenge Accepted.’

King of Prism SSS episode 7 commentary (Leo)

So this episode is the opener for what I know as the theatrical “Part 3″ ... and boy what an opener.... By the time it was over I was like “T-That was only the first one... BUT IVE ALREADY FELT SO MANY THINGS..”

Having this as the first episode of the three has been pretty difficult because it’s just such a rollercoaster. I’ve actually been hesitant to see go Part 3 more just because I know I have to get through this episode right off the bat. And not because I think it’s a bad episode OH NO ITS JUST... SO MANY... FEELINGS..........

I got to go to the midnight showing for Part 3, and I honestly think that has an unfairly high influence on how I feel about the episodes. Part 1 and Part 3 I saw at the midnight showing and I loved them. Part 2 and Part 4 I saw at 8 am when I was exhausted and miserable and I ended up thinking Part 2 was weaker than the others, and Part 4....................... uhhuhh we’ll get to that later, anyway--

So when I translated the original story about Over the Rainbow crossdressing for Miss Kakyoin, I honestly did it just for that two second reference in episode 3. I had no idea this was also going to happen. So when the first second of Part 3 opened on the theater screen with this I was like OH. MY. GAWD. YES. YESSSSSSSSSSSS. I’m gonna cry already. (Little did I know what was coming up later in this episode....)

Also this was the point where I began to realize some of these episode are taking place in the past/out of order. Because SSS starts off in the summer, but the Kakyoin Fest usually takes place in May. So either this is a Rainbow Live retcon, or this episode is taking place in May. (But I suppose there’s no particular big reason that can’t be possible. Well one small one maybe...)

So this is Rinne’s first appearance in SSS, right? (Outside of her silhouette in the OP.)

So... I don’t really think it’s a spoiler to tell you she will appear again, under.... vErY DiFfeRent CircumStanCes........

And I just wonder if like, when we get to that moment, someone who is watching only SSS who has never seen Rainbow Live or Pride the Hero is gonna be like “Oh that’s the girl from the beauty contest.... wait..... WAIT WHAT IS HAPPENING.... “

Oh lord.

Anyway.

This scene is a whole lot of fun in cheering because we all have our green out and are cheering to Freedom, then it... stops.... then it starts again ahahah....

I love Taiga in the background here. It’s clearly intentional.

I wonder if he actually believes what Kazuki says here or not. But you know what. I don’t think it matters because I think this scene has about zero influence on how he reacts next. I mean, if Taiga actually realizes Kazuki’s just doing this to save face, well then.... hell yeah he’d want to help defend Kazuki-senpai’s honor! And if he believes him and thinks crossdressing and winning a beauty contest is an honor for Edel Rose.... hell yeah he’d want to follow in Kazuki-senpai’s footsteps ahah ha.......... yeah see it literally doesn’t matter........... For Kazuki-senpai!!!

Yeah see this is definitely post-episode 3 Taiga. He definitely changed in that episode after becoming honest about his feelings for Kazuki. So this is the only stupid little thing that makes me question when this episode is taking place since the Nebuta Festival is in August ahahah ha.... (Well maybe he realized long ago.)

Wait woah woah what’s going on here with the subtitle. I thought I saw someone else’s screenshot of this and it was an upside down “A”? Is it just my computer? Is it really like this?

BTW I actually never had any idea what they were saying here before, neither did I pick up that it was probably a reference to ��'s because in the theater you just cannot see anything on that newspaper because it’s on screen for like half a second.

If I had, maybe I would have realized that.....

......Both Kakeru and Shin’s outfits seem to be a reference to the original Love Live! I had a little subconscious inkling in the back of my mind that I knew where Kakeru’s outfit was from and it probably wasn’t Pretty Series. But Shin..... Shin..... for the longest time I kept trying to think what coord this was. Because it does look like it could easily be a PriPara coord, doesn’t it? But after other folks started pointing it out, yeah it does look like they were trying to rip on the “Bokura wa Ima no Naka de” outfits goddamn it hahaha.... Well, it makes sense because there are people who worked on both Love Live! and Rainbow Live.

But yeah I swear if they had only made the skirt plaid I would have gotten it. The plaid skirts are such a big point of that outfit for me.

But still anyway, if anybody can think of a Pretty Series coord which is similar to this (or can make one on the 3DS).... um.... hit me up................ now..........

OH COME ON MINATO you can do so much better than this.... For Miss Schwartz you actually found a look that worked for you....

I mean sure he looks like someone’s mom but isn’t he.

The moment when I was like “Welp, maybe Taiga’s straight after all.” Such a mystery, this kid.

This moment goes by so fast I literally missed it my first two showings but OMG it’s my favorite joke in this episode and one of my favorite visual jokes overall I crack up uncontrollably every single time. Ahhhhhh you poor boys....

Welp someone hasn’t watched PriPara but I think we already knew that from Kakeru’s “Glowstick Cage”. Still, I really think you’d be able to figure out this is clearly a catch phrase but WHATEVS

I think my reaction echoes most of the community’s reaction as being “are they gonna say the thing--THEY SAID THE THING”

As much as I want to feel bad that Leo feels like he has to do this, it’s just too funny. And not to mention adorable.

How “masculine” Leo somehow ends up being EVEN CUTER than natural Leo, I will never be able to explain but OH LORD HE IS. (I guess just, the more he tries to fight it the stronger it is....)

So. Okay. Okayokay. Sorry we gotta pause here oh boy.

Ever since the Pride the Hero era, Tsurugi was always my favorite member of The Shuffle. Especially since I realized that even though we could see him failing the training machine in the first movie, he still made the group. It was my headcanon that it was because Kokoro, Mondo, and Mitsuba helped him rise up and overcome his challenges until he finally made it. I saw him as the Otoha of the group. A sweet lovely boy who somehow got mixed up in all the corruption of Schwartz Rose AND SOMEHOW he survived.

And then this happened.

His feminine personality. It was all an act. IT WAS A LIE. Just created to add the right appeal to The Shuffle. AND I FELL FOR IT.

I guess Joji isn’t the only liar in Schwartz Rose. I guess, Schwartz Rose just naturally attracts that kind of people huh.

Well, from this moment on Tsurugi was not my favorite anymore.

For the record, my favorite member of The Shuffle nowadays is Ace. And probably subconsciously has been since episode 5? But I actually didn’t come to realize that for.... a few more episodes...... So we’ll talk about it then.

Right now we have to talk about.... wait... wait no no no no no no no

You ever have one of those moments when time just kinda stops and everything just kinda... spins around you........... that was this moment for me at the midnight showing....................

Sorry I have to interrupt again to mention this. They revealed here Leo’s dad supposedly designed all these characters.

Well OK, but the thing is in this universe supposedly PairChams and stuff are actually real.

So how can they be designed by Leo’s dad?

Welp, my theory on this is Leo’s dad either was a prism star, or just has a lot of prism sparkle in him, and he secretly just draws exactly what he sees.

I think the phrasing is a little weird here. It’s more like Leo didn’t even particularly realize he was a boy. (Or what his gender was at all.)

.......I really like this episode but...... this part is just so hard for me..... it’s just...... a bit too real............. but I applaud them for it the same time but.... it’s just.... it’s hard.............

People take out yellow and cheer for Otoha here, but at first I was just so distraught after the proceeding scenes it took me until maybe my 4th or 5th cheering show to actually join them.... just trying to get the energy and to come out of it and like oh it’s Otoha.... oh where are my concert lights.... oh where is yellow..... oh it’s over...... ................. (ahh it’s just.... so sad........)

Okay so now that we’ve gotten this far, I can finish my train of thought about the order that the boys joined Edel Rose.

I think it’s safe to assume Yukinojo was probably first. His episode revealed that he liked prism shows since he was really little, so he probably entered his first year of junior high? I think Kakeru was already in junior high when he found out about prism shows so he probably transferred in anywhere from 2012 - 2014.

Yu and Minato I think probably joined at the same time in April 2015. Because when we meet them in the first movie they are both 1st years (in junior high and senior high respectively) and we know from Minato’s episode he was never in the junior high division.

Then Leo joined sometime not too long after that, and finally Shin.

Taiga is the only mystery, because his flashback only features Kazuki and there is nothing to particularly date it. In my head I’m gonna throw him in there after Kakeru but before Minato/Yu though.

......Anyway.

Leo’s reactions as he meets each of the boys, and vice versa, are just... SO INTERESTING to me and reveal so much about him and the other characters. So I’m sorry but. We’re basically gonna take this frame-by-frame....

Oh gosh oh no oh to think that because of his experiences in life, Leo is just so conditioned to the point where this is the first thing he says directly to any of his new friends I just I.... *chair squeak* excuse me I need a moment.

*walks out of the room*

*comes back after several minutes*

Oho gosh okay okay sorry where were we

AND HIS FACE when he realizes Kakeru called him cute and clearly meant it as a compliment I just I *chair squeak* I may need another minute we’re like ten seconds into this scene and it’s already just--

OHHHH MANNNNNN

I’m pretty sure Leo’s extreme reaction here isn’t because he’s upset at not being called cute. It’s because, once again, Leo is just so conditioned because of everything he’s been through. He took one look at Taiga and probably saw him as the exact archetype of a person who usually bullies him.

But he was wrong.

Taiga, the actual purehearted softie that he is, had absolutely no idea his words would have such an effect on Leo. And once he realizes, he PANICS, and says absolutely anything he has to in order to fix it as fast as possible.

I’d also like to note what makes this scene even funnier is that Taiga is using a Tohoku slang word for “cute”. (This is a younger Taiga who hasn’t quite lost his northern dialect yet. Also sort of a northerners bonding moment for the two of them maybe?)

So Taiga being attracted to Leo is a thing I guess. But.... but does it really count as being gay with Leo, like I mean.....?

Well.... Taiga being asexual is probably ruled out at least.

Anyway.

Out of all of them, Leo’s encounter Minato might just be my favorite.

First, Minato reaches out his hand intending to shake Leo’s.

But Leo, probably being just.... so desperate for human contact at his point, sees this and actually reaches up and grabs Minato’s hand with both his hands instead.

If you remember, Leo being too touchy-feely with other boys was one of the reasons he was bullied. Probably moments exactly like this.

But Minato....

He doesn’t flinch. His expression never changes. Instead he’s just like, oh you remind me of my sister. Like it’s the most normal thing in the world.

And he probably thinks that’s kinda nice that it will be like having his beloved sister around.

Yu doesn’t care who Leo is as long as he thinks he’s cool.

Gonna say the obvious here but YUKINOJO WHAT ARE YOU DOING

How he just immediately powers down and goes into kabuki practice mode when nothing has been happening for 30 seconds.....

I have things to say about this encounter too but we’ll get to it later.

My favorite comedic line in the episode.

Yukinojo is somewhat oblivious about gender norms himself eheh.

I love the juxtaposition of this line with this scene. It’s not a coincidence surely.

Leo kind of just made a fool of himself here, but the other boys had almost no reaction. They were all just kinda like “huh”, and instead of “this Leo kid is a weirdo” it’s “Yukinojo what did you do” hahahah. That, is acceptance. That is Leo finally finding a place where he can belong.......... Until.....

Oh boy I’m sorry we gotta go on another tangent here. A dark one.

Throughout SSS it’s pretty clear that Shin’s arrival had a big impact on everyone, but it probably had the biggest impact on Leo.

Edel Rose was the first place in his adolescence where he was able to find acceptance.

And I think it’s safe to say, that without Shin to bring everyone together, Edel Rose probably would not have survived.

And if that happened.....

Leo would have nowhere to go.

I really shudder to think about what might have happened.

And I don’t think it’s a huge exaggeration to think that Shin joining Edel Rose... may have actually saved Leo’s life.

So when you really stand by and take all of this into perspective.

All of a sudden how attached Leo is to Shin. His over-protectiveness, his jealousy. It.... it starts to make a lot more sense.

So from this moment on I decided I won’t fault him for it anymore. I can understand.

Oh gosh okay I know it’s hard to come out of that with this, but....

Y.. yay Christmas Party! This is going to come up again in SSS, but since people are going to be talking about it now I’ll talk about it now.

The Christmas Party is an event which happened in detail on the Prism Rush Main Story and was the first time the boys all performed together as a group and debuted Dramatic Love.

And yes, at the same time it is also an analog to the real live Music Ready Sparking concert, which was the first time the voice actors all performed together in real life. Those are the outfits they wore in the real concert, and the same pose they used for promotional materials.

They actually re-drew it for the anime in the performance outfits instead of the concert T-shirts.

(The outfits aren’t a secret anymore, and no need to sell T-shirts ahah....)

WHAT. THEY FIXED IT. Okay I SWEAR in the theatrical version of this there is a continuity error here where Leo has his pigtails in this back shot, but his hair is down from the front. I paused here to take a screenshot so I could mention it then I was like wait whaaaaaaaaa. This is the only time I have noticed a blatant change between the theatrical version and the TV version. (Other than the new endings.) It makes me wonder if there’s anything else I missed.

PFFT.

I guess “yes” isn’t the worst translation, and who am I to talk since I don’t translate “IIZE” at all. But it drains the flavor out of it whenever I try.

If you’re not aware, “IIZE” was the scoring system in the boys’ PriPara from Idol Time, DanPri. The joke is that it’s like a masculine version of “iine” which was the scoring system in the regular girls PriPara, and still is in PriChan. Probably the most literal translation of “iine” is “likes” since that’s what they call the like button on Facebook/Twitter. But yeah it’s a bit of a journey to understand this I suppose.

(Yes, Mirei hair and Bunny Magician coord from Prism Tours. Sorry I’m skipping over pointing out some of the PriPara references on purpose since this post is just so long as is.)

PFFFFFFT okay okay. Okay. OKAY. Okay.

I know this is probably just in here for a throwaway joke but OHHHH lord.

We saw Alec compete in a beauty contest on Prism Rush before in the Street Beauty No. 1 event, but not on purpose as Louis basically tricked him that time. To think he’d come this close to doing it on purpose, and in his Mom’s clothes?...... ohhhhhhhh wow

If this really almost happened, then I guess Alexander’s riding the same train as post-episode 3 Taiga nowadays isn’t he ahah.

And finally we get to the prism show. But oh gosh, I have to say I do not like his initial outfit. First of all it’s supposed to be a boys’ outfit but it’s.... not.... I guess they were trying to go for a Peter Pan thing or something, but it just registers strongly in my head that Peter Pan is usually played by a woman and like. I just wish they would have made this outfit a bit more masculine to highlight the change that’s gonna happen. The least they could do is take off the earrings.

Not to mention form-fitting stuff does not work for Leo. It highlights how small and child-like his body is, and they even do a butt shot and just NO no please no why. STOP. Okay, my only criticism against this episode is that. Had to say it.

When you need a character to clarify this you’re doing it wrong.

But anyway, moving on.

This.

When we got to this moment, I just.... I felt.... such a great vicarious weight lifted off my shoulders. It just felt so good to finally, finally see this. It’s been a long time coming.

Okay, let’s go back. Way back.

During the first movie, when we first met Leo. In the bath scene he introduced himself using “boku” (a male pronoun). He was presented as wanting to be more boyish, and Yukinojo’s little protege. And I said OK, and I accepted this for face value. For a while.

But then about a year passed, and this CD came out.

And I went woah. This was the first point when I began to realize things might not be quite as they seemed. Leo is just straight out wearing girls’ clothing here. As oblivious as he is, nobody can be quite that oblivious.

So the whole theme of their duo song is mutual respect, and it clearly introduced for the first time the irony of Yukinojo and Leo’s relationship in that although Leo looks up to Yukinojo, in truth Yukinojo wishes he could be more like Leo because Leo is the feminine ideal he’s striving for as a kabuki actor who does female rolls.

Well okay, but the thing is.

Leo supposedly wants to be more masculine, but... but....

When he first meets Yukinojo, that’s not the reason he attaches himself to him.

Leo picks the most feminine member of the group to model his ideal after. Not someone rough like Taiga, or built like Minato. He picks Yukinojo. Yukinojo.

And that’s when you start to realize.... Nothing Leo has said has ever matched up with what his actual actions are.

Sure, he talks a lot.... but....

What has he actually done to try and become more masculine since King of Prism started?

Even when he purposely sets out to dress masculine in stories on Prism Rush (like in his initial PR story for one), he always ends up picking out feminine clothes somehow.

Although he once introduced himself using “boku” to Shin, it’s pretty much exclusively become “watashi” over time hasn’t it?

His Pride the Hero subplot was enjoying his (arguably) feminine hobby of clothing design. No masculine quest subplot there.

And we even got to the point where SSS opened with him wearing a frilly pink shirt in one episode and pigtails in the next.

The more time Leo spends at Edel Rose, a place where he is accepted, the more he slowly opens up and starts acting like himself again.

So if you’re thinking this came from nowhere, you haven’t been paying attention.

Still, I was really worrying about what was really going on inside him a lot before this episode came up. And then. Finally. FINALLY.

This episode should be seen by not just King of Prism fans. Not just Pretty Series fans. This episode should be seen by everyone.

GAHHHH I’M JUST.... SO HAPPY..............

I think just looking at these screenshots and taking it all in is making me tear up more than in the theater.

Okay so. When I saw Leo’s coord for the first time, my immediate thought was Laala’s first PR....

If you think maybe something else is a better fit though let me know.

So I actually think this score for Leo is fair. He only did two non-connecting jumps, and as this episode revealed he is the least experienced member of Edel Rose. (...Like I said before Shin... Shin is a special case........) I really like how their shows are actually accurate to what their skill level would reasonably be.

But it also just makes Minato’s higher score more of a mystery.

I love, love how this contest has progressed from year to year. Rinne -> Kazuki -> Leo -> ???

It may take us until we get to the next generation to get another winner, but someday I hope we see one....

YES this is obviously PriPara ahah but in canon it might be “Prism Land”? Ahah.

Okay. Since you’ve somehow stuck with me THIS FAR, I’m going to talk a little more about how this episode effected me personally and why it’s important to me.

The depiction of bullying was just so frighteningly accurate, and I feel like other people who have been through something similar would probably agree.

5th grade really is the year.

It’s right around that time when gender rolls really seem to solidify. All of a sudden lines are drawn. The girls become more girlish and the boys become more boyish.

It was around that time that I also noticed, that I didn’t like the same things that other girls my age liked. Other people noticed too.

My gender issues weren’t as profound as Leo’s, but I just wasn’t interested in things like clothes or boys yet. I still wanted to watch cartoons and play in the dirt and stuff.

Going into middle school, I also tried to pretend. But it didn’t work.

And I didn’t have any friends for a long time.

But then something happened to change that. I got more involved in music. Specifically marching band. Music and performing brought me together with a rag-tag group of people from different grades who didn’t know my past, all working together to put together a performance. That sort of activity (music, sports, etc.) builds bonds between people that surpass normal friendship. And eventually, through those sort of bonds, I found myself around people who accepted me even though I was a bit different. Gradually, I learned it was okay to be myself.

So just watching Leo make friends though prism shows.... just oh my god.... that’s me.

I kinda joked about Leo being my self insert character in King of Prism before, but man. Watching this episode. It just got so... SO much more real.
