It’s been a month without him.

I cannot come to terms with losing him. He was my everything. He was the only one that listened, who cared. I didn’t see any of this coming and now I’m grieving for someone who is still alive.

I want to go back. Go back to my home and to him. Just for one last hug. One last ramble about my interests. He’s the only one who cared.

I’m in grief; an unrecognisable form of grief, so complex I cannot comprehend it myself. In constant denial, constant confusion about my own emotions on my loss. Told different opinions from people I’m now having to depend on even though they do not care. They do not care about my views, despite their complexity. They care about the drama.

To them I am not a victim. I am unsure if victim is a label I can offer myself. After all, I’m the bystander here, yet hurt so much more. I hope she one day understands my pain, because to both her and everyone else, the tears on my cheeks are forced and again I am reduced to an attention seeking child.

He cared. My problems were valid. He loved me.

I’ll never forget the day she told me I only existed for my sister. Joke or not, so she claims, it’s stabbed me deep in the chest and I am unsure whether or not to pull on it to attempt to remove it, or to keep it there to act as a plug for the rest of my useless blood.

I am expected to continue with this dagger in my heart, as well as the wounds that torture me, and show no emotion.

I am not grumpy, I am in grief. I am not disobedient, I am unsure who to follow anymore. I’m tired, and I’m done.

One of the most dangerous things in the world is not being able to say no to people because you don't want to upset them or dissapoint them. This will completely ruin your life in every way possible, at work, in your private life, your sex life and your friendships. It's a way of removing your own consent in your own decisions and go against your wishes, it is always a crime against yourself. Let yourself have a say. Upsetting people is better than traumatizing yourself.

I've had this little idea in my head for a while now, so I decided to sit down and plot it out.

Lay down groundwork! (Backstory integral to the beginning of your story.) Build hinges. (Events that hinge on other events and fall down like dominoes) Suspend structures. (Withhold just enough information to make the reader curious, and keep them guessing.)
