@kateprincessofbluewhales made this post about high fae aging and how the older high fae should look like they’re 40s-50s instead of 20-30 and I completely agree and I wanted it show this insane headcanon that I made charts for because I’m crazy lmao. I thought the high fae aging was so confusing and badly written but I really needed to understand it!

So how I think the High Fae age is this: the child grows at a steady rate that appears the same as how a human ages. So when they are one year old they look like they’re one, when they’re 5 they look like they’re 5, etc until we get to approx. when a high fae puberty starts. Mor got her bleeding late, she got it when she was 16, (as seen by the red dot I wrote her age wrong sorry). I headcanon the average age of puberty starts around 12-13 which is about the same as a human’s.

But when the high fae begins their development, this is when the age in appearance starts a logarithmic growth rate. It comes quickly in the beginning but begins to rapidly decrease as they age. Mor is 16 when she got her first bleeding so she might have appeared a little younger; Rhys (purple mark), was in his thirties when he was fighting in the Human War so he might have appeared 19 or 20.

This time in a high fae’s life is when their magic is developing, and it stops developing when they reach maturity, which is 80 years old. I put a teal mark for Tarquin, which works out because I always saw him to be 20 or in his early twenties. And at 80, their age in appearance evens out to a rate that is almost impossible to notice until you expand it out.

So that purple mark is Rhys’ age at ~500 years old. And I always pictured him to look like he’s in his late 20’s early 30’s so this steady growth matches up perfectly.

And this also works well with the idea that High fae children are rare. So they are rare because they’re hard to conceive and because they age rapidly compared to the immortal high fae life.

And if we expand this out further, this growth rate matches up with how I always see Beron, so I always pictured him middle-aged so approximately 50. And with this rate, he would be about 1,500 years old which I think is perfect because I headcanon that Beron was near the same age as Rhys’ father.

And if we expand this further, we can see Madja and how old I think she could be.

Madja is confusing to me and we know almost nothing about her. But Feyre describes her to be ancient looking: she’s got white hair, she has wrinkles, her hands are wrinkled and knobbly. So in my head, I pictured her looking like she’s about 80 or 90. And with this growth rate, she would be about 4,000 years old. Which makes sense to me.

We don’t know when High fae usually die. They’re immortal, but even this immortality has a limit. Amren said that she was immortal before in her previous form, and she says not immortal like the high fae but Immortal. So Madja might be in a high fae’s elderly stage. And also she’s pretty rare too we haven’t seen another eldery high fae because a high fae usually doesn’t have a safe life that allows them to live this long. They had the war, they have these very competitive lives, they love fighting in battles to the death.

So yeah, that was my very autistic explanation of my very specific headcanon for how the high fae age in ACOTAR lmao

I feel like I should make a list of all my tails headcanons I’ve come up with. Because I feel like I’ve dropped a lot they’re all just in the back of my head.

1. I think Tails is kind of a pervert, but in a young boy who just discovered he likes girls way, so he can be a little creepy at times, but he's ultimately harmless about it.

2. I think Tails has no regard for the law, much like Sonic does. I think Tails is more than willing to just do what he wants no matter the potential repercussions, and he definitely has a lot of illegal items and materials stored away somewhere in his workshop. But he has good morals, so he won't just straight up kill someone... anymore.

3. I think Tails was very liberal with using excessive force when he was younger. I mean, the fact he uses napalm bombs in Tails' Adventure is evidence enough, and that's one of the rare few Sonic games where you don't just fight robots, so he was napalming Battle Kukkus into fried chicken.

4. Tails mellowed out due to Sonic's influence; if it weren't for Sonic, Tails would have probably just bombed Eggman to death during Sonic 2.

5. Tails watches cartoons.

6. He'll say random things to Sonic while he's working.

7. Tails is autistic.

8. Tails is bi/pan.

9. So many people like to think Tails would be bad at games and Sonic would be better, but no, I think Tails would be great at video games, way better than Sonic. I don't even think Sonic even really watches TV or plays video games with the exception of Boom Sonic, but Tails needs something to do while he's alone at his workshop and taking a break from one of his inventions. Dude is probably one of those gamers that almost never plays and then suddenly one day hops into an online game and just dominates for a couple of hours and then disappears for a week. But Tails probably mostly plays rpgs, rts, and strategy games.

10. Sonic is solely responsible for Tails' loss of self-esteem because at some point around Unleashed and Colors, Sonic begins to actively push Tails away from actually helping him during his adventures, most evident in Sonic Colors when he literally pushes Tails away from helping him fight the Nega Wisp Armor.

11. Tails has the most potential of any character in the franchise, but he's rather complacent with his place in life because he doesn't want to be better than anyone ; he just wants to be seen as an equal to everyone. He doesn't strive to be strong, fast, or even smart, all he wants is to be with the people who make him happy.

12. Tails has eaten garbage and wild animals

Xavier and Caleb would have a jealousy off, should they somehow end up alone together. Both of them are possessive men, one would stalk the other and the other would hold his blade to his throat and tell him he does not care whether him and MC were raised together, stay the hell away. It's very tense

Zayne and Caleb obviously have known each other since childhood, but Zayne has absolutely no idea what Caleb has done nor the effects of the chip. He does notice small things, like how Caleb will glare at him while MC isn't looking, the slightly possessive arm wrap, the way Caleb leans closer when all 3 are out and about. Zayne doesn't do much though, at least not super obvious. He'll make it a slight competition, making sure MC's okay, telling Caleb it's fine because "MC is his patient, they're taken care of", making sure MC is eating well, his sentences losing the usual monotone tinge it has to show teasing, almost amusement at Caleb's antics. If Zayne knew though...oh, all hell would break loose and i'm sure we'd have a Dawnbreaker incident

Rafayel and Caleb would have the most explosive fights i think, not around MC though. Never around MC. Lots of arguing, Rafayel putting his daggers to Caleb's throat, Caleb pressing his military pistols to Rafayel's head, the both of them grinning like mad men. Viscious words being thrown around, threats being done. Words like "my beloved bride" and "I'm their protector" are used constantly. At the end of it all, they probably both pout when MC is around, leaving them confused because what the fuck just happened??? Hello???

Sylus probably doesn't give him much of any fight, just using half truths and sly, sarcastic comments to get under Caleb's skin. He knows Caleb knows that MC stayed with him in the N109 Zone, he's well aware Caleb knows of the warning he gave them about family being the biggest betrayal, and he uses it to his advantage. Caleb gets easily frustrated and pissed off, Sylus' words affecting him a lot, but he's perfected the art of hiding his emotions over the years, so the only way you know of this is the fire in Caleb's eyes

His Evol when he feels extreme emotions is also hard to pin down for how it activates. I'd like to think when he's happy, he himself floats, maybe MC if it happens to be a hug or kiss from them, not too high though. Or when he's angry, stuff gets thrown to a wall. Not sure about sadness/upset/hurt though...

His love language has all of em, but I think the main big one is Acts of Service and Quality Time

I feel like in their middle/high school days he tried to ask MC out for a school dance a la prom or smth similar and MC, not knowing much better, took it as a "my gege is gonna be my date because i have no one else, how sweet <3"

watched the star wars prequel trilogy RELIGIOUSLY at almost every sleepover when they were little (though they recognize they maybe aren't the best, they're nostalgic for the films)

watched the new trilogy together (the rise of skywalker coming out around or after the sekai taikai which set a little damper on things) and they lowkey wondered why finnpoe wasn't a thing (though they weren't avid shippers) and they HATED the reylo kiss

they did however both feel a little heart skip when ben defected from the dark side to defend rey (deja vuuuu)

demetri dragged eli along for his journey through "the greatest films in history" which included a viewing of La Jetée and Dead Poets Society (which eli liked way more than demetri did), and 1984 and Chinatown (which demetri liked a lot more than eli)

they also watched Rebel Without a Cause but neither really cared for it and didn't get the hype

when they first met, eli didn't want to leave his parents' side (for normal child separation anxiety) and they worried how he'd get adjusted in school with his anxiety and surgery scar but demetri marched right up to him, only focused on his inaccurate episode five luke skywalker shirt that used a photo from episode four before he had the facial scars from the wampa attack (which then devolved into demetri, unprompted, explaining the behind the scenes reason for the wampa attack)

much to his parents' surprise and delight, eli opened up to demetri and was okay with them leaving for the day (both eli's parents and demetri's mom were relieved they were both able to make a friend their first day of kinder and stick by each other’s side even when school got harder)

eli spent a while coding a website for him and demetri to organize their dnd campaigns (which only ever involved the two of them)

demetri spent a lot of their time apart (both through cobra kai and the mit fight) going through the website to pass the time rereading the plots to their games (and if he silently wondered where this version of his best friend went, he never said it aloud)

sometimes while building their lego models, coding (at coding camp or otherwise), or building robots for the robotics team, they play a mix of midwest emo, indie alt, rap, and rock (not that they particularly listen to it or like it, they just need something that’ll blend in the background)

demetri was THIRLLED when eli became hyperfixated on jason todd and conner kent and hoped this would be his introduction to dc. he later realized eli didn't really hyperfixate on the characters in their entirety as much as just Batman: The Killing Joke and Young Justice specifically (he was a little disappointed but he still got him the Batman: The Killing Joke graphic novel for his bday which was a very treasured gift)

they actually made another embarrassing binary bros video after the first one (just talking about something they coded together for like ten minutes) but hawk deleted it bc it was too embarrassing and he was mad at demetri at the time (he doesn't know demetri kept it on a flash drive)

they both had huge crushes on padmé amadala (a big motivator for watching the prequel trilogy so often)

star wars is so intrinsic to their relationship actually and every time they rewatch, obi-wan and c-3po remind hawk of demetri and luke skywalker and poe remind demetri of hawk

demetri mandated "rehabilitation-community service" for hawk to earn his trust back (they both knew demetri forgave him at the dec 19th fight but hawk went along with it bc he really did want to make it up to demetri and didn't want to waste any second he could spend with his best friend) in which he was "forced" to watch nerd stuff with demetri, including Lord of the Rings, Star Wars episodes 1-6, Doctor Who season 11, Batman: The Killing Joke, and Spaceballs (he makes sure to make an extra scene of the batman movie: "I know you HATE DC, but this one is OKAY. If you don't like it, we can just skip it. Matter of fact, you'll probably hate it. Let me just put on Justice League, WAY BETTER DC project if you ask me. You'll love it.") (eli knows demetri's messing around but he hopes he never forgets what he loves and who he is again so demetri never has to wonder where his best friend went again)

demetri wasn't the PERFECT solution to hawk's meltdowns but he did seem to have a sixth sense for when they were imminent and what hawk was feeling (and never really brought it up after the fact so as to not embarrass his best friend)

kid demetri usually tried talking him through his frustration then would try to make him laugh once he'd calmed down (which hawk GREATLY appreciated as a kid and as an adult bc demetri seemed to actually listen to his feelings and what he wanted)

teen/adult demetri is apparently more emotionally mature and has breathing exercises with hawk and tries to have a full conversation once the worst of the meltdown has passed (hawk thinks it's a little bullshit but he goes along anyways and it works every time) (demetri obviously learned this from sam, yas, and moon)

they both get along really well with anthony, much to everyone's surprise. with kenny, the four of them talk about dungeon lord, play super smash bros, and the two older teens even try to talk the younger ones into joining a dnd campaign with them

there's one day when miyagi do is training/hanging out at the park and somehow demetri and kenny agree to race each other. kenny narrowly wins and demetri argues that if they had raced when he was the same age as kenny, he would've been faster ("I was more aerodynamic then, I was a stringbean, of course I could run faster! This is ageism, it's not fair I'm one foot in the grave, he's still young and spry! No, I will not stop making a scene, Eli, you remember how fast I was at the mall, this is injustice!")

growing up, demetri definitely had a "i won't do that if there's a chance of it ending terribly" mentality (very pessimistic and stubborn) which kept him and hawk from trying a lot of things. this is why hawk was so surprised to catch up with his best friend before their senior year and find out how much he actually changed. ("Dude, what do you MEAN you went hiking with Miguel and the LaRussos? And you didn’t complain about mountain lions or falling rocks the whole time?" "Yeah, it's wasn't as bad as the time Yasmine tried to teach me how to surf." "...You went SURFING?")

hawk definitely feels a little possessive of demetri, as embarrassing as it sounds. he prefers to think of it as gatekeeping, since he knew how great he was before his lanky best friend suddenly got incredibly popular and has "i liked demetri alexopoulos BEFORE he was cool" written all over his face

despite this however, he's also really grateful for their whole group that protected and pulled demetri from his shell while hawk was in cobra kai (yes even robert patrick swayze keene, the smug bastard who definitely filled hawk's spot next to demetri during film nights)

hawk warns everyone to keep any sour candy away from demetri for his own health and their own sanity (think cat from victorious with bibble)

while demetri has dungeon lord comics in his reading rotation, hawk, kenny, and anthony only casually read, more often than not just stealing demetri's comics while they're over and quickly flipping through the pages. (demetri's only slightly annoyed that they dare to treat him like their supplier then act like they're not as big of dungeon lord nerds as him) (he never mentions it, lest the kid kick his ass or get embarrassed and avoid him, but demetri knows about kenny's dr. scribblebottoms cosplay and thinks it's unfair THAT isn't proof enough that he's just as big a nerd as demetri)

Still reading TOA- I just found out that Leo’s full name is “Leonidas” (either that or it’s a nickname Calypso gave him, but the fandom seem to agree that it’s his real name) but he HATES it when Calypso calls him that, so my hc is ANNABETH is the ONLY one with “Leonidas” privileges. And that’s bc he’s so fucking terrified of her he doesn’t DARE appose her on it. I feel like she does use it respectfully though.

Hazel is also allowed to use it sparingly.

4. Oh yeah fuck canon Leo and Annabeth are besties and they bond over both being runaways and also engineering/architecture stuff. Leo’s DEFINITELY had a peek around Daedalus’ laptop- his design for an automaton that can house a human soul got him thinking about his mom. He always planned on maybe taking a closer look at those files but then the laptop got lost in Tartar Sauce. I know you said no angst. Whoops.

5. Leo and Hazel start a support group for demigods who have come back from the dead. Every Wednesday in New Rome. Biscuits and Orange Juice will be provided. They call themselves the “YOLTers” (You Only Live Twice- because YOLO is for the weak). Thalia is also a frequent attendee.

6. I hc him as hard of hearing after the explosion in Blood of Olympus. Specifically deaf in his right ear and chronic tinnitus in his left. He uses hearing aids sometimes and also uses ASL and Morse Code to communicate. I choose to view that as wholesome bc we need more disability representation.

7. He is a “Leonidas” ONLY at Starbucks. He then follows it up with a bunch of equally hard-to-pronounce middle names (which he completely made up) said in a rapid-fire Spanish accent and watches the Barista panic as her white ass tries to spell it all. It’s even funnier when she tries to say it back to him when giving him his order. He takes the cup (leaves a generous tip) and says “but usually I just go by Leo” and walks away.

He has to listen to music as a way of not being alone with his thoughts. I discovered Taylor at a young age, and she has remained one of the few consistencies in my life since then. She got me through some tough times (Not as bad as Leo, but she helped me survive 2020). I feel like Leo would be the same- not always knowing where he’ll be sleeping that night or if food will be on the table, he’d want comfort, stability. Taylor would be there.

14. He wakes Frank up at 3am with “Hey I can’t read that what does that say?” “…Leo you wrote this. You’re telling me you can’t read your own writing?” Little does Leo know that Percy came in with exactly the same request half an hour before. Frank is finding being the only non-dyslexic on the ship incredibly frustrating.

I just started this fic where Annabeth, Piper, Leo, Reyna, and Rachel all go wedding dress shopping for Leo to get ideas, but he makes absolutely the most BEAUTIFUL gown for her- much better than any store. It puts all other wedding dresses to shame.

When the comedian asks who they are, Leo introduces Jason as his fiancé. When Jason goes, “Wait, no I’m not!” Leo yells “WELL WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE?” And gets down on one knee.

I FUCKING LOVE CHARA!!!!! ever since i discovered chara existed (via a playthrough i watched because i was too young and silly to do the geno route on my own) in like 2016 i LATCHED onto them. idk what kins are but if i could kin anyone it would probably be chara. i have projected so much onto them throughout the years. even when i thought they were evil i still loved and projected onto them. chara is everything to me. i love this edgy ghost kid that narrates everything. chara would have been the funniest teenager because you just know they’d be “it’s not a phase mom” about it. rip chara you would have loved set it off and mcr and panic! at the disco. chara would have loved messing around with knives. they have a plastic knife they used to bonk asriel with thats my headcanon (bc i have a plastic knife from an old halloween costume that i still bonk my sister with). they would have loved horror films.

the narrator chara theory is canon to me and i love the chara-frisk friendship i imagined in my head they’re literally best friends. every time frisk dies in some brutal battle chara is the one to give them the memories that sparks the determination in them to not die. i like to think one of the reasons frisk’s determination is so strong it can overcome flowey, who was made via pure determination, is because chara’s determination is also there helping guide frisk. i also imagine that chara struggles so much with being awoken by frisk’s determination and seeing how everything changed. i think that chara is a mix of horrified at how monsters want to attack frisk when they were so kind to chara, but then understanding it because frisk is the last soul needed to break the barrier. chara can understand that desperation in a way. it doesn’t stop their heart from breaking when the asgore fight happens though

i also like to think chara sees themselves in frisk. a human that fell down for what i headcanon as another not so happy reason. i think they’re close in age, maybe chara’s a year older (not that i don’t love it when chara is like 13 and frisk is 8 so it’s like an older sibling younger sibling dynamic). and that chara wants frisk to live like they didn’t—or maybe they want frisk to break the barrier. maybe some part of them wants frisk to die, just a small part, to free monsters. not that chara would let them, though. and most importantly, not that frisk would let themselves. chara ignites the spark of determination by encouraging frisk to not give up, by giving them the memory of their family pleading for them to live, but it’s frisk’s own determination that does it.

in the genocide route it hurts too. because chara only starts really supporting the player after toriel dies. after their mother, who they loved so much they killed themselves (via buttercups) to try and free alongside the rest of monsterkind. the mother who took them in and loved them when nobody else did. after toriel dies, chara succumbs to the idea that humans are all cruel and they were a fool to think they were any different. they just hollowly repeat ‘but nobody came’ over and over and over again. they’re along for the fucking ride and hate all of it but still help because that’s all they’re able to do. and with asriel flowey siding with them, maybe this is what they’re meant to do. and yet they’re confused by the player’s actions and don’t support them (calling something perverted isn’t exactly a compliment). they don’t want this—they literally tell you hey dude pick another fucking route will you???

i also love the idea that chara in the geno route is the personification of karma. consequences of our actions. after controlling everything for so long, chara takes it back. i like that

i also also like the idea of them seeing flowey for the first time and not recognizing him as asriel till later. and being horrified and guilty that this is what their brother has become. if they hadn’t been so stupid, asriel would still be alive. i think chara would see the suffering flowey went through, and feel guilt over it—especially since it’s become obvious that flowey’s current mindset somewhat mimics chara’s nihilism towards humans, but to an extreme that spreads to monsters. flowey still idolizes chara, even now, and chara feels blame towards themselves. chara isn’t a fan of murder, they only suggested it for their plan because they were a kid who didn’t realize the severity of taking a life or how difficult it would be. knowing asriel, as flowey, has become this. it would break them a bit. so much has changed and they feel like it’s their fault. if they hadn’t been stupid, toriel and asgore and asriel would be happy and together. they ruined everything.

except they were like 11 and only wanted to help, just in a pretty non orthodox way. they ruined monsterkind—they’re all hopeless now because of them. they’re depressed, and their only hope is to kill the human children that fall down because that’s how desperate they are, even though chara knows monsters are the most peaceful beings in the world and would have never laid a finger on them. Asgore was the most loving father, and yet Toriel spits out his name with venom. i feel that chara would feel so much blame and guilt that it destroys them a bit. the least they can do to make up for it is help frisk. chara is a human, and humans are nothing if not cruel. i think chara would refuse to acknowledge that they were just a kid, because above that, they’re a human. and humans are only capable of evil things, in their mind.

my favorite aus are the ones where asriel and chara are alive for no reason other than for fun and frisk is their friend and so is mk who comes over sometimes. and they’re all best friends. im a subscriber to the idea that sans and papyrus raise frisk, not toriel, so i like to think they have sleepovers/playdates. come on. you know they’d all be besties. i had this au thing when i was younger where frisk split their soul in half to give to chara, so it’s like a split soul scenario where each of them have a half of frisk’s soul. it got edgy real quick but i still like that idea. i think it’s neat. but at the same time im also fond of frisk and their dead ghost friend and flowey that frisk stole from the underground to bring to the surface world.

frisk and chara’s non-canon relationship is my favorite part of this fucking game and it doesn’t even exist. they’re my favorites. i love them and chara wants to protect frisk because they are scared and chara knows how that feels. goddd

chara is so tragic too. like imagine having killed yourself believing that it was what would free monsters, your brother promised he’d help you (even if hesitant), and then it failed. failure, it’s just a string of failures and misery. and it’s not asriel’s fault, you can’t expect some 10 year old to be happy with killing people—even after being attacked, asriel couldn’t bring himself to do it. since asriel’s absorption of chara’s soul was the last thing keeping them ‘alive’, the last thing chara processed was the fact that humans had yet again taken everything from them, before being awakened when frisk fell.

also chara would be so pissed they’re not a monster tbh. so would kris but this is charaposting not krisposting. chara would hate their humanity so much. autism chara is a hc of mine because ive been diagnosed with autism since i was a literal toddler so it’s been a part of my life for nearly all of it, and i like to think chara was too. and the disconnect i feel to my humanity is something i think they’d also feel too. i process my existence differently, i see my body and self as extremely separate entities. the body is human, sure, but my self can’t be fit in that box. i think chara would feel like that too bc projection. chara has always been my favorite to project on ngl i was also a really troubled kid and they’re my favorite ever

i'm the #1 lover of headcanons, specially zuko headcanons, theyre all so yummy. but if there's one zuko headcanon i disagree with, is the autistic zuko headcanon. and let me elaborate !

so, i know lots of people on the internet love to headcanon characters as autistic because they see autism as a cute and quirky trait instead of like a serious disability. and they take the smallest 'proof' of that autism and go "look! they're autistic!! >_< :3"

and with zuko, that's kind of the case. i haven't seen as much people headcannoning him as autistic or claiming he is, but for example, there's a lot of works under the "autistic zuko" tag on ao3, or i've seen some posts here on tumblr about it.

why, as an autistic person, don't agree with this headcanon?

simple, context and factors.

zuko has been banished from his country at 13, and the only social interactions he has had from there until three years later (when he met the gaang and started to socialize with them too) were with his uncle and some sailors from his ship.

all his social awkwardness, and the difficulty understanding social clues and rules, and all that shit people use on arguments to say "zuko is autistic" are because he's been socially excluded for 3 years. 13 is like, starting to be a teenager, and it's in teenage years when the most important part of development happens. and he, instead of living those very important years being apart of society and interacting with more people and everything, he lived them in a ship with a bunch of sailors and his uncle. like, bro has nowhere to learn how to be a "normal" member of society 😭 and i KNOW that people learn how to communicate and socialize and all that BEFORE 13, but he didn't interact with many more people when he was younger. he lived in the palace and all he did was feed turtleducks and be a mama's boy 😐. and he didn't have his own friends neither, he only ever spoke to ty lee and mai but not as often as he did when he's older (16 and older).

conclusion: zuko's not autistic, he's just a marginalized and socially excluded teen.
