Small headcanons about Aizawa, Toshinori, Hizashi, and Gang Orca's wedding.

I'm once again sorry about my absence. I'm trying my hardest to write. It's coming slowly, but it is coming. I promise. <3

Aizawa Shouta

Shouta wouldn't bring up marriage until a long while into the relationship. It's never something he's put much thought into, and he certainly never pictured marriage coming quickly or easily. He just needs time to warm up to the idea, partly because he's afraid of it ending badly, like how everyone fears, and partly because he's well aware he isn’t the 'husband type' people tend to picture. But he isn’t against it. Having someone beside you during your worst and highest points, sharing the love and emotions, is, admittedly, a comforting thought.

Before officially proposing, he’ll talk about it with you extensively. He isn’t the type to surprise his partner, putting way too much pressure on them in public (he often finds himself grimacing at the men who do that and their poor, speechless partners). The proposal “event” would be small — It’s evening. You’re unwinding on the couch after a long day out. And he casually slides the ring on your finger, asking if you’d marry him. The ring is simple, natural, and beautiful. White gold bands intertwine like vines, holding a petite rose quartz stone. 

He'd want a small wedding. No annoying bands, large festivities, or overly complicated planning. In fact, continually insisting on those actually makes him hesitant about getting married, as he'd feel you weren't considering his wants. He simply wishes the wedding would celebrate you and him, with some good food and the people closest and most important to you.

During the event, it's hard to read him. His face is flat as usual. His jaw is clenched, arms crossed, close to his body. Yet his eyes are genuinely happy. He doesn't get a lot of occasions to relax with his friends, but he worries something's going to ruin it. Rub the small of his back, hold his hand, and don't be afraid to kiss him publicly. It's the one time he's okay with it. And it helps him relax. 

Sho is definitely someone that spends as little as possible on the wedding and uses the saved money for a longer, better honeymoon. Where it is, though, he doesn't care that much. As long as it's not to some casino or any other loud place, he's okay with you deciding. He trusts you not to drag him anywhere he'd hate. Besides, letting you pick gives you a chance to surprise him with something he truly deserves: a relaxing vacation away from his stressful life. 

Once the emotions settle after everything, Shouta wouldn't feel much different. Your lives are pretty much the same. Though, his chest fills with a pleasant warmth when he's able to circle "spouse" instead of simply "partner" on paperwork or anything like it for a while. Not that he'd say it. And wearing the silver ring is quite nice, knowing you're also wearing one.

Yagi Toshinori

When he was younger, Toshi occasionally thought about getting married and having kids and how nice it would be to have that simple life. But then he became All Might. And then he got sick. And now he's sick and retired, struggling to see himself as worthy or as important as he once was. Marriage stopped occurring to him. He thought it'd just be another part of life he wouldn't get to experience. 

His proposal comes at the end of a romantic evening together. He plans it meticulously and worries throughout the date, toying with the box in his pocket while you eat dinner and walk through the park. The question comes a bit earlier than planned. He stops you among the trees and flowers and kneels, revealing the rose gold engagement ring with your favorite stone in the center. 

Whether it's more traditional, more western style, or a combo, it doesn't matter. Toshi isn't picky. He, like Shouta, just doesn't want it to be large or overly invasive like all the press and media events he's been subjected to. He'd invite Gran Torino, Midorya, Tsukauchi, and a few other close friends, but that's about it. This one part of his life he'd like to stay his.

His ideal wedding would be outside at a nice hotel or villa near the woods or ocean. Lanterns and string lights hang on the trees. Soft colors decorate everything — maybe a pale beige complimenting pink or a gentle cream to go with purple. Candles. Flowers. The ribbons on the chairs. It all matches perfectly. His outfit compliments what you choose to wear. A calm atmosphere, you, and your happiness are all he really wants.  

You won't really get a chance to pick your honeymoon destination because he'll surprise you with a trip to some place you've always wanted to go. So, in a sense, you do pick it, but he buys the plane tickets, books the hotel room, and looks into local activities before you can even bring up the idea of the honeymoon. It doesn’t matter if it's to the Naturmuseum Senckenberg in Germany that you've talked about for years or to Iceland, so you can finally see the aurora borealis and all the other natural beauties the country offers. He wants it to be special, memorable, and personal. Plus, he has the money and won't hesitate to spend extra on you for this occasion.

Yamada Hizashi

Marriage has been fifty-fifty in Hizashi’s mind. He isn't a stranger to relationships, but something's always held him back, possibly even scared him away from marriage. He knows he's not perfect. He can be loud, sometimes unintentionally annoying, busy with his jobs, unfocused, and just a bit much. There's always an unfocused, lingering fear that his spouse would eventually get fed up with him and leave. Yet, you’ve been together for years. You’ve never given him the impression at all. So, maybe it’s worth it?

He'd like matching wedding bands, and he's the type to never take his off. And because it’s Hizashi, the ring is assuredly flashy. Your bands would be gold with diamond decorations. Your engagement ring is the exceptional one though: diamond buds lay on golden vines with a marquise diamond in the center. Yeah, it's expensive and just a ring, but he loves what it symbolizes and wants you to feel special. 

Hizashi is one hundred percent down for the wedding being a grand yet laid-back production. Book the local band or famous DJ you love. Find the fanciest event site you want. Load it with candles and flowers and decorations of your favorite color. Style doesn't matter. He simply wants it to be fun. And he wants you to have fun with it. He hates how wedding planning is always stressful when it should be time for you two to relax and just appreciate one another, regardless if the party is grand or small.

Even if you spent a fair amount on the wedding, he also wants the honeymoon to be lavish. He’s by no means a millionaire, but he does have extra funds for things like this. And besides, this’ll be the only honeymoon you two go on. It should be memorable. He leans more towards cities rather than the typical beach-and-relax destination. Maybe Italy or Spain? He thinks of the architecture and culture, hot-air balloon rides, and winery tours. La dolce vita, y’know?

Gang Orca

Kugo knew he wanted a family and marriage since his teen years, and that desire has only grown as he has. He sees coworkers and colleagues posting about their anniversaries and children, all the happy couples holding hands and dancing at fancy events, and fathers playing with their children at the park, holding them as they did the monkey bars for the first time. He wants all that. Badly.

When the proposal comes, he nearly drops the tiny box. It isn’t exactly nervousness. It's more that he’s thought about this for a long time and it’s finally time. He’s excited and happy and content and over the moon when you say yes. The ring looks expensive. It’s a vibrant white gold band with an Asscher diamond in the center. Blue sapphires accent it on either side. His ring matches; it’s a simple white gold band with a grooved center for sapphire stones. 

He leans more towards a traditional Japanese-style wedding. He wants the sake-sharing ceremony, to present a bouquet and a letter to your parents, and a smaller reception for your immediate loved ones followed by a more lively after-party. And seeing him in his handsome black kimono, haori draped over it, highlighting his shoulders and waist, isn't a bad look either. You can wear a kimono or a dress or something else, though. He wants you to be comfortable and confident in what you're wearing and wouldn't make you wear any specific type of outfit for his sake. 

Kugo finds himself enjoying the wedding more than he thought. Well, he knew he'd enjoy it, but he thought he'd be a bit more anxious or all over the place, worrying about food coming on time or if everyone was sitting in their designated seat. Yet, that stuff goes away once it's started. He doesn't need to obsess over other people when you're next to him.  

Despite wanting a wedding for so long, Kugo, surprisingly, has put no time into thinking about the honeymoon. Maybe he just never expected the former to happen, so the latter seemed like more of a pipe dream. His job responsibilities don't make the decision any easier. 

Depending on the time of year, Kugo might ask for a "smaller" honeymoon directly after the wedding, like a weekend trip to southern Japan at a nice beach house, to hold you over until he can take time off for a more extravagant honeymoon. And even if you insist that the few days on the beach are enough because you just want to be with him, he'll insist that you deserve more. He wants to treat you. It just sucks that life gets in the way sometimes.

- you didn’t make a big deal out of her reactions though, understanding the confusion and disbelief because you and gojo were very different

- maki made more of an effort to include you with the rest of the class though, even if she could tell you weren’t super into hangouts

- that only drew her in more to you though

- she liked the idea of someone more introverted to be around, especially as you weren’t overly loud like your brother

- the rare times mai would be on the school grounds, maki was on guard on your behalf even if you are perfectly capable of defending yourself (physically or otherwise)

- despite her temper at times, she did her best to be patient with you as you’d slowly come out of your shell

Okay so, Pico has never been the overly affectionate type. He's not very gushy and honestly would rather keep his guard up.

Just because he's afraid of hurting others. Like. He is literally the sole survivor of a shooting, that survivors guilt would be driving him mad. The what ifs would plague his head like a disease infecting every inch neuron.

But all of that sort of changed when he met you.

Obviously it's pretty hard for him to let others in, but, when someone basically comes bounding in with arms wide open? He actually almost saw you as a threat-

A threat to what? He doesn't know himself but something about your kindness set off his fight for flight response. He probably would have done his best to avoid you in all honesty. It's not that he's got a problem with you but- damn. There was something off putting about you.

You know who I imagine you befriended instead? Nene. That girl would drag you everywhere and by extension, you'd be forced around Pico a lot.

He'd do his best to sort of keep his guard up, but he knows why you're such a threat to him.

You're utterly disarming.

Natural charm and kindness flowing from the tips of your fingers and out into the world around him. He was like "wtf? (°///°)"

This man was changed ever since his trauma please be patient with him.

After I imagine to be some months of just seeing your absolute kindness, I feel like he'd slowly but definitely let you in.

Once he starts being more relaxed around you, you also get to see more of his affectionate side. He treats you like one of the gang. You'd almost forget he was apprehensive of you at first!

I’m only on S2 of TMA so my theories for TMagP probably don’t mean anything at the moment—because I haven’t listened to any of Protocal yet—but I have headcanons from seeing all the TMagP posts on my dash.

I’ve been seeing all these posts about [Error] and sentient tape recorders and voices on the recordings—I don’t know exactly; I’m taking pieces from posts and putting the puzzle together.

I just got finished with Mag 65 Binary. It got me thinking—what if… Okay. Hear me out. The Archivist—Jon, Not Jon, doesn’t matter—eyes, all the eyes (webcams); hair, long and flowing, makes rustling sounds when you fingers through it, weird texture—almost like the texture of the tape inside a recording tape (because it is).

The tape players—biting, flopping—are sentient extensions of the Archivist. The Archivist has become the digital recorder. It’s digital becoming analogue instead of the analogue becoming digital.

But another twist to this theory that’s going through my head—What if [Error] is Sergei Yushanka? I know it’s far-fetched but also, not really as far as anything in TMA and TMagP is concerned. It’s all rather far-fetched in its own way and we still don’t know all there is to know about TMagP Universe and how it correlates to TMA Universe.

[Error] being Sergei is essentially the same as people putting English song lyrics through layers of other languages before putting it back to English. It’s all warped and twisted and sometimes the original meaning doesn’t come through in the overly-translated lyrics. Same concept. Analogue to digital—especially for as long as he was digital—and back to analogue is going to leave some major changes on him, especially since Tessa tells that in the Urban Legend—whichever ghoulish, twisted version you go with—two details remain constant.

It’s the whole thing of looking into the void, becoming the void, and then trying to come back from the void. No matter how much you resist the void while you are the void, you come back changed. And sometimes, you find that you don’t want to come back at all.

Being one with the void was hell, but is it better or worse when returning? Because it’s still pain. But is this pain better or worse than before?

Izuku is a very attentive boyfriend

He makes a point to know everything he can about you, and makes sure that all of your needs are attended to

He definitely has several pages of his notebook dedicated solely to you

He has lot of information about you quirk, but he also has extensive note on everything he wants to remember about you like your birthday and your favorite things

Izuku feels the need to put everyone before himself, especially you

This trait can sometimes be detrimental, and he often forgets to take care of himself since he's so focused on you

As his S/O, you have to be very attentive towards him, and make sure he's not running himself into the ground

Izuku is also a very affectionate boyfriend

Even though pda makes him nervous, he will hold you hand or kiss you on the cheek in public if you ask, but he would prefer to keep things private

Even when it's just the two of you, Izuku can be very awkward with affection in the beginning of your relationship

You're more than likely his first relationship, so he gets really nervous when showing his affection, and is afraid of doing something wrong

Once he becomes more comfortable in the relationship, he's all over you

One of Izuku's primary love languages would likely be words of affirmation

Izuku is very expressive through his words, and will spend hours listing all the things he loves about you

He makes sure to shower you with compliments everyday, and always sends you good morning and good night texts every single day

Izuku can often get insecure about his quirk, and feels a lot of pressure to live up to All Might's legacy

He really appreciates when you reassure him about his abilities, and support him with his training to become All Might's successor

He's a very caring and giving person by nature, and that doesn't change when it comes to you

As stated before, Izuku is very attentive, and he often notices your needs before you do

He's always equipped with you favorite snack or drink, and he's always quick to do anything you might ask of him

He mostly shows his love for you through simple actions like taking notes for you in class, or helping you study or do your homework

He loves helping you in any way he can, and he enjoys the quality time you get out of it

He also really appreciates when you do things for him

Izuku has a tendency to run overwork himself and run himself into the ground

You always make sure he takes enough breaks throughout the day, and bring him small things to snack on so he gets enough to eat

This is especially important when he's training, since he often loses track of time and goes all day without eating or drinking

Christian As A Girl Dad (Headcanon)

Christian Yu/DPR IAN [Fluff]

The moment that Christian becomes a father, his whole world would change. He would put his daughter before and above, anything and everyone else. She would be an important part of his life, just like his mother and his first daughter, Lori.

Christian has a lot of symbolic and meaningful tattoos. There’s no doubt that he would get a tattoo to commemorate the birth of his daughter.

He would melt into a puddle of mush for his daughter. His daughter would be, “the apple of his eye,” “his whole world,” “his little princess,” and Christian would make sure she knew that.

Christian is a very affectionate person, and he would not fail to constantly tell his daughter, “I love you” or “Appa, loves you.” He would show his love with many hugs, kisses on the cheek, and kisses on the forehead.

Christian would want to share with his daughter, some of the things that shaped his childhood and left a good impression on him as a kid. For example, Christian has fond memories of going to the circus as a kid. He would want to take his daughter to the circus too, and buy her popcorn and cotton candy. He would introduce to his daughter, some of the movies he grew up watching like, “Wizard of Oz” and “Dumbo.” And without a doubt, he would take his daughter to see “Cats,” which was the very first musical he saw as a kid.

Christian would be the kind of father who makes a snack for himself and his daughter, right before bedtime. Maybe a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, split down the middle, one half for himself and the other half for his daughter. Served with a glass of milk.

He would be the kind of father who would allow his daughter to paint his nails, and put make up on his face. And he would dress up with her for a make-believe tea party, and sit at the table with all her stuffed animal friends.

His parenting style wouldn’t be too strict, but it also wouldn’t be too lenient either. He would be in the middle. He would scold her when he needs to and wouldn’t overly spoil her.

He would be the type of parent who of course, wants to make sure his child is getting all the nutrients she needs to grow healthy and strong. He would make sure she is eating plenty of vegetables and fruits. And although, he would mostly want her to eat proper meals, he would allow her to have things like pizza and chocolates every once in a while. He isn’t the type of parent to completely eliminate this from her life. Besides, Christian likes to eat pizza too, every once in a while.

Christian would be sure to read his daughter a bedtime story every night, or possibly tell her a story if she asks for one. Maybe even sing her a song on occasion. After putting her to sleep, he’d make sure her night light is turned on, and leave the door to her room ajar, in case she needs him in the middle of the night to scare away the monsters.

Because of Christian’s love for music, it is certain that his daughter would be raised with an extensive knowledge of it. He might even teach his daughter to play a few instruments if it really piques her interest.

In regards to language, Christian would teach his daughter to speak both English and Korean from an early age. He would want his daughter to be able to speak both languages interchangeably, with much more ease than himself.

Aside from teaching his daughter the Korean language, he would also want her to know more about their Korean culture.

Having lived in Australia throughout his childhood and adolescence, and then in Korea throughout his twenties, he would want to take his daughter to visit both countries.

Christian seems to value women who have qualities such as, independence and strength. He would raise his daughter to be this way. He wouldn’t want his daughter to be completely dependent on him or any other man for that matter. There are times when it would be ok to be a bit vulnerable. But there are times when he would have to show some tough love, depending on the situation.

Christian would be the kind of parent to constantly give his daughter advice, give her words of encouragement, teach her valuable life lessons, and most importantly, he would teach her self-love.

Christian would be the type of father who gets a bit teary-eyed witnessing the biggest moments in his daughter’s life. From the day of her birth, to the day of her graduation, the day she goes off to college, and the day she gets married.

So, religion doesn’t get brought up in KOTLC a lot, and the elves don’t really have Christianity, but I have this headcanon where the Fosters went to church and Sophie went with them. She wasn’t like, the most overly devout person ever, but she went and she didn’t mind. My little headcanon is that after the events of canon end she starts going again, just to have a tradition from her old life that meant more to her than she realized, and she’s more devout this time. Again if you disagree that’s totally fine, that’s just my little headcanon!!

I haven’t thought a lot about tmbs characters and Christianity aside from what a friend has told me about extensively over DM and I actually adopted a lot of those headcanons because I loved them (and I’m not going to steal them here), but the first time I read the series as a kid Kate just struck me as someone who volunteered as VBS, and since she reminded me of myself in a lot of ways, little Katie saw Kate as a Christian. Once again, disagreement is fine!

I wasn’t sure whether to post this or not bc I know religion can be a touchy subject for a lot of people, but for me personally Christianity has always been something really helpful and beautiful for me and so my brain does apply it to my hyperfixations sometimes. So, if there are people out there who want to know, these are my little headcanons regarding kotlc and tmbs characters and Christianity.

oh of course! It would take a lot of space to just list them all off though, so here's one of my favorites relating to our boy Arthur!

I think he has pretty extensive nerve damage all through his torso, resulting in twinging, pulling, itching, loss of sensation/overly sensitive to sensation, inability to feel hot/cold, etc.

With the amount of physical trauma to his trunk, there's gotta be some long lasting damage, even if he's able to heal a lot quicker than normal.

Fun fact: this actually stems from personal experience with the surge (bilateral mastectomy), and that sort of sensation while your nerves are trying to reconnect/regrow isn't actually all that uncommon to people who elect to have that surgery done! I relate it to somewhat of a phantom limb syndrome except it's, well, phantom tatas LOL

My headcanon that Leon would be the one to cook is not common in the serennedy community unfortunately but I'm glad you agree with it

Luis's favourite soup is warm tomato soup. His grandfather used to make it for him <3

Uh crack theory of mine that turned into a real headcanon, Luis is the one who put the yellow taped barrels and boxes everywhere. It was meant for him but when Leon starts using the items he certainly doesn't complain. And maybe Luis leaves certain things just for Leon

Same as yours, Luis calls Leon every pet name under the sun but the one time Leon calls him something he short circuits

Luis is so overly flirty but when Leon flirts back he gets flustered and doesn't know how to respond

Tall king Luis gets pegged. Final answer. To quote a friend, Leon isn't man enough to bottom

Luis has an amazing voice he just doesn't sing much. He plays guitar and knows many songs, but he's super shy about it. But he'll sing for Leon, eventually. Adversely, Leon has an okay voice but he doesn't like singing at all and will refuse to sing, even for Luis. But he likes when Luis sings to him

Might get some disagreeing with this but I fully believe Luis would hold onto his religion even after everything. From someone who kept my religion despite extensive religious trauma, I know it happens, and considering the fact that we see him cross himself in game before fights, I think he is still Catholic. I don't think he'd be super strict about it, probably only go to church once a decade if at all, but yeah. And Leon is for sure an atheist. Neither of them care ab the other's beliefs. How ambitious is Lyonel?

disclaimer: we don't know a lot about lyonel, so much about this is what i've parsed out from the show and many personal headcanons.

i would say he's very ambitious! no courtier who seats in the small council and accepts the handship does it purely out of self-sacrifice for the good of the realm.

the thing is that we have to remember that lyonel grew up in the bosom of a family just recently raised to the most powerful lordly seat in the riverlands, closest to the capital and biggest castle in the whole of westeros. they went from a small house to one of the paramount houses in the riverlands by jaehaerys himself. in the same decades the scandal of ser lucamore the lusty broke out and the strongs were cast as this sort of pariah. a knight of the kingsguard is one of the highest position in the realm, probably ser lucamore was aided by jaehaerys raising his brother? father? uncle? to lord of harrenhal, so when he broke his vows he threw all the work done in one fell swoop. the strongs were not just the new lords of harrenhal but also the family of the oathbreaker and the father of sixteen bastards.

a privilege such as that, and assuming the first lord strong of harrenhal was lyonel's father, would have marked him a lot and how the family should comport themselves esp after ser lucamore's scandal. i think these things gave lyonel the ambition to rise above it and gain more favor from the crown and make them forget about what brought his house down. we know he went to the citadel for a few years to learn as much as he could and that he was called to serve in viserys' council for his knowledge of the law and it gave him a chance to also bring his sons and give them positions under his office and of course raise themselves to offices with importance like harwin going from gold cloak to commander and larys from generic torturer to lord confessor and then master of whispers. all this showing the family's main purpose in the city is to scale the ladder and be indispensable to the crown.

i wouldn't say he's more ambitious than most, but definitely more than people think. he does what any normal ambitious lord does: he gets a position in court, rises to the council and to the second most powerful position in the realm, and with it he helps his family to achieve more offices too. which gains them power and privilege.

the difference from other overly ambitious lords like otto (and they are parallels in the show!) to me lies in the ways they try to grasp their power and how they achieve it. while otto is very obvious with his self interest in both having power over viserys and making alicent and by extension his grandchildren rise above the rest and with that to make the hightower name shine or whatever, lyonel's way is more subtle. like viserys says, lyonel is not a hand that will hector him because lyonel is very self aware of how the dynamics & people work and what's good for the realm will eventually bear fruits for the individual or the opposite. he also values hard work & honor and duty far more than he should meaning that he prefer to pave a cleaner path than most would.

rather than try to manipulate viserys for lyonel's gain like offer harwin for rhaenyra knowing that viserys would seriously consider this because he trusts lyonel, he does not and instead he offers the same advice from when viserys was looking for a wife: the velaryon alliance is vulnerable. you did not marry laena, then you must marry laenor to rhaenyra. he knows that if the crown looks and is weak, then the council and its lords are too. a marriage between harwin and rhaenyra would not have worked for the crown and lyonel might not have wanted it either.

Just finished MOTH...

Ok but seriously this is one of my favorite GBA series (that and space pirates) they where the first 2 asmr series I PROPERLY watched not just from GBA but ever! The first episode had been out for a couple months and the rest came along as I watched them.

And since then GBA has been feeding my hypertension since! Every headcanon, every fan art every overly complicated backstory that I'll never post but think about a lot, I have MOTH and as an extension GBA to thank for.

And about the ending, say what you will but this was the best ending that could have EVER happened (ok mabye there's a better way to phrase that but) let's review

You know the phrase "it's not the destination but the friends you made along the way" of some sh*t like that? YEAH THAT! darling never NEEDED their thrown back THEY JUST NEEDED MAKKARO

The only reason the guardian would have ever gotten with zed would be to forget about magrios

That's not good! I realised that pretty early on and recognised that zed and guardian where most likely not gonna be end game so I anticipated this

AND possibly the most important one

Being with the guardian wouldn't have fixed zeds self esteem

It would have made it worse

And zed recognising that kissing the guardian then and there WOULD have been taking advantage of their vulnerable state is AMAZING character development

I agree with everything in your post about Megumi, I really wish Gege would remember to show more about the characters and what they're feeling. I don't even expect much because something shifted in his storytelling and he's been focusing on fights (and that weird love storyline because why do we have more insight on secondary characters rather than the main characters?) but a page here and there would go a long way. As a Megumi fan the fandom has been a blessing with everyone sharing their speculations or headcanons so it does hurt a lot but for anyone just reading the manga that doesn't really pick up the characterization crumbs Gege drops once every blue moon I really do wonder how much they empathize with the characters...

That Shibuya Yuuji scene still haunts me so we know he can write good emotional and impactful scenes ;;

You can definitely tell that Gege wants to wrap things up, but I think overall, there isn't really an overly big focus on fights compared to how earlier in the story or that we're lacking character moments. Shibuya was all fights and it makes sense that the Culling Game and final fight in Shinjuku would be like that too. We still always get a break though to not make things too monotonous. Like the Perfect Preparation arc, the beginning and end of different colonies, Kenjaku's whole plan with the international military and setting free of curses, Hana's & Angel's introduction and then the meetings to discuss the Culling Game before Megumi got possessed. It can get very exhausting on a weekly basis (with additional breaks), I definitely feel it with Sukuna's fight in Shinjuku at the moment, but looking back on it, Gege always makes sure to include a couple of chapters for characters to discuss plans, bring in more world building, reflect on what happened or just give backstory etc. Even with the final fight in Shinjuku we have Kenjaku vs Takaba as a break between two major confrontations. I guess you could call their meeting and comedy show a fight but only in a very abstract sense. It is a much needed break from the pretty formulaic fight Sukuna has going on, where he's essentially just standing around and waiting for people to jump him.

Similar with character moments. Megumi and Tsumiki definitely got the short end here. We saw Megumi kill for the first time and worry a bit about Tsumiki, but after the fight against Reggie, he didn't really get much focus or development and then he just became a sad damsel in distress for Yuuji to save. I'm sure we will find out more about his changed mental state in the following chapters, but there was very much a lack of groundwork beforehand besides "what Sukuna does makes him sad/suicidal". I mean, I would've guessed that anyway.

I don't think that's a general problem though, which makes Megumi's situation and Tsumiki's relegation to being just a cardboard cutout for Megumi to project his issues onto with no depth to her own character all the more frustrating. For example, the Culling Game was what made me care about Noritoshi and even put him in my top 10 faves. He was pretty forgettable for me beforehand. Maki also had a major focus on her with her own arc and character development both in Perfect Preparation and the Sakurajima colony. The Baka Survivor mini-arc did massive improvement for Takaba and Kenjaku's characters (killing Kenjaku was a ludicrous decision, but that's it's own issue, they definitely got some much needed character development). Same for Kashimo for example and by extension Sukuna. We learned more about Sukuna's philosophy and how hollow it really is, plus he has shown the first signs of reflection about his world view. Megumi's possession has kickstarted a big change in Yuuji's character too. He's become much more forward and self-sufficient, now even being the one to formulate and lead the plans to save Megumi. His first fight against Sukuna was also a big character moment (still kind of missing that energy in the current fight).

So I think generally we don't really have a problem with not knowing what certain characters, even main characters, are feeling or them not having enough focus. The only ones where I noticed this is Megumi and Gojo. With Gojo, Gege seems to have switched to Basic Shonen Battle Autopilot and giving us essentially no character focus in Gojo vs Sukuna besides Gojo's death scene. There was barely any focus on Gojo and his changed mindset (or not, not even that we can say with certainty due to how he was written) before or after his big fight. I assume it had to do with Gege not knowing what to do with him and just somehow wanting him out of the way, but I don't know what's up with Megumi.

I think the characterization crumbs we did get for Megumi aren't that hard to pick up on, but they're just that: crumbs. When they don't have to be. The glimpses we see of him do look very depressing and you can feel for his situation, but it requires a lot of heavy lifting done on the side of the reader, when you could've just shone his reaction during the Yorozu fight and things would look less like a one-dimensional "Princess locked in ivory tower waiting for rescue" type of situation. Megumi's predicament has given Yuuji a lot of development and I really like that, it's honestly what I care about most, how this affects Yuuji, but especially with the big moment we just got the lack of preparation for that from Megumi's side becomes pretty obvious.

Short answer: Yes, if they feel like it.

Since the guys generally present masculinely and identify masculinely, they default on male genitalia. If they want different parts, they have to focus to do it. They can, and some will if the situation calls for it.

I also feel like they can have both at once, since ecto doesn't restrict them necessarily to one set, and this would be the most likely way they'd deal with it: they'd just add on the female bit. Fun for everyone involved. (There's an art I saw somewhere illustrating this perfectly, but I'm at work and tumblr would ding me anyway, so you'll just have to visualise it on your own.)

They can project an ecto body if they feel like it, but that takes more magic and is kinda rare. They could have tits if they wanted to (and let's be real-- Killer absolutely has done this to see if he can) but it, like female genitalia, would have to be a very conscious effort.

As for how it works in general, I headcanon this:

Their tongues are pretty much either always there, or easily summoned. It's how they process food (as Killer explained) and it basically acts as the sole way that magic via food and drink enters their system. When things get steamier, their magic anchors itself to their pubic symphysis, with little else around it. It's reflexive, but if a partner wants the sort of ecto-body that goes up to the bottom of the rib cage... they can. It's not the default, and most of them think it's cumbersome-- it's so much easier to get closer if there's no magic in the way, and besides; human asses are meant to fit into the curve of their pelvis, and legs can fit very nicely in the curve between iliac crest and spine.

The ecto itself is warm, at least, but has a sleeker consistency than skin. About the same yield, but it's not very textured (along smooth parts like summoned bodies or their tongues. Texture elsewhere comes in the form of bumps and ridges and swells and whatever all else you wanna imagine). It presents the color of their magic, and in the cases of Dust and Baggs, it can move about from place to place in lazy patterns. It's kind of jello-like in opacity, luminescent, and since it's magic, and magic is literally an extension of themselves, is sensitive to touch (insofar as they can feel it, not that's it overly sensitive). It feels kind of like touching a TV screen, where you can feel the little sparks of things against your skin, but it's not overwhelming (...usually. If they're super excited or unstable, it can be).

8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?

Jesus fuck okay where do I even begin. Uh. Okay the question specifies "despise" so I'm gonna leave out stuff that just mildly annoys me.

(Btw I'm not saying that no one can do these things, I just personally do not like these portrayals at all.)

The first thing that came to mind was how Reigen's childhood gets depicted. While there was definitely loneliness and insecurity there, everything from the story itself to bonus omakes point to Reigen having had a relatively normal childhood. He's literally just A Guy who tried to relate to an actually neglected man by saying he also felt lonely when he forgot to bring a lunch on Sports Day??? I didn't mind it at first but at this point I just can't stand stuff where child Reigen was bullied and/or abused, it feels so overly angsty to me. I feel like there's some interesting potential with Reigen and the rest of his family that could be explored but I have yet to see one that isn't just his family being abusive to him. (I do have a personal fic idea about Reigen and his mom gradually making amends but I don't know if I'll ever muster up the motivation for it...)

I guess by extension there's also how Reigen's depression gets portrayed. I feel like because he's depressed and is unsatisfied with his life, people tend to push him in this Super Sad Box when that's not how his mental illness presents itself. I can understand why people do this though (it can be fun/satisfying to put a character through a darker emotional state and it's not like Reigen never gets sad about anything in canon) but I personally don't like it when the angst gets too extreme.

Uhhh also don't like stuff where Reigen is overly horny. Obviously I'm biased cuz uh *points to username* *also i am asexual myself* but it just also feels very out of character to me in general even if I disregard my asexual Reigen headcanon. Sometimes it feels like people just portray him in a certain way because they're horny for him...

And uh yeah I guess those are the main things I can think of. Sorry this became a long mean rant 😭

(I guess I left out the worst stuff of all which comes from certain nasty shippers. Reigen would never be vile like that he would sick to his stomach if he saw any of that shit-)

Dushyanta & Shakuntala

Personally, this story as documented in Mahabharata is a cautionary tale against verbal-only contracts. You should always get things in writing/have neutral witnesses.

The way Dushyanta mansplains, manipulates and basically coerces Shakuntala into being intimate with him is a terrifying read. This is a testament to how women must be overly cautious even now while negotiating any deal.

The first thing Dushyanta does (after finding Shakuntala alone, and gauging exactly how long her father will be gone), is that he confirms her caste status.

Laughable, considering the glass house he has in his skeleton closet (this part is not his fault, but it sure is ironic how he uses the same regressive logic to evaluate the worth of Shakuntala, which can be used to disqualify him from his throne itself if one was feeling vile enough).

The moment that he is assured of her 'good breeding', Dushyanta starts cornering her. While his tone is sweet and polite, it's clear that he intends to fully exploit the fact that he's the local King and Shakuntala is just a law-fearing subject (a young and naive one at that).

Shakuntala however isn't completely clueless. Once it is clear that Dushyanta is in no mood to wait for her father to return (rather he wishes to finish the 'deed' as soon as possible and then run), Shakuntala exacts a promise that Dushyanta will make their future offspring the yuvaraja.

Solid plan. Only one problem, Shakuntala didn't think Dushyanta would be so brazen as to completely deny the whole encounter.

So, when she presents herself and her Sarvadamana in Allahabad, Dushyanta's words hit her like a metaphorical kick in the teeth.

Dushyanta, among other grossly misogynistic comments, calls into question the character- both Shakuntala's and her mother's. He penalizes her for her father's dodgy track record and her mother's perceived lack of morals, by invoking their names and stories to discredit both her honour and honesty.

It is then, that Shakuntala becomes a (n unnecessarily) strong heroine, standing up for both herself and her mother, all the while defending her son's right to his father's throne.

In doing so, dishing it right back to Dushyanta, she brings up the disparity in their births (it's nice to see Shakuntala being proud of her mum...even though that relationship too is a can of worms). She asserts that Dushyanta would not be doing her son a favour if he accepts him now and here, because her son is perfectly capable of taking, in due time, what is owed to him.

Just as she is about to leave, there is this shloka.

In Dr N P Bhaduri's research, he mentions that this shloka is old and unchanged in multiple scriptures. In fact, as per his understanding, it might be pre-Vedic.

In essence, in breaking the metaphor, I assume Dushyanta's ministers remind him of the social clout of Kanva (and that he so callously dragged one of the most powerful rajarshis' name through the mud) and by extension the damage Shakuntala can really do with (both of) her father's help in a Brahman-dominated society, and hence they advise him to give up the ruse and accept both mother and son.

In fact, that is where Bharata gets his name (the bold portion of the shloka)....Bhara (Bharasva) + Ta (Dushyanta).

After the fact obviously Dushyanta gives a very Rama-like excuse...wanted to test her piety, gods' approvals blah blah. As a headcanon, I like to believe that Shakuntala never really forgave him (because that sets a terrible precedent), and neither did Bharata.

As a moral, I would repeat, have written contracts, pre-nups+post-nups, read all the pages, call witnesses and make sure you're actually legally married. Basically, know your rights or you may end up fighting your own case in a biased court sans lawyer.
