Everything is Alright pt 9
Starscream x reader- sulking
• You have no idea what to make of your visitor or the way you’re being stared at like an especially frustrating puzzle missing pieces at the very end. Still cradling you in a huge hand, that helm tilts down to look at your cage. A slightly disgruntled rumble buzzes through his big frame as he turns toward the door as if in expectation.
• Exhausted, Starscream rolls his shoulders to work the kinks out. It wasn’t that patrolling was hard- if anything it was processor meltingly boring. Letting himself in his quarters only to rock to a stop, because Soundwave is right there. Holding the human in a hand. Waiting. That faintly glowing visor staring in accusation as Starscream’s wings flick up aggressively. This isn’t Skywarp and lashing out will have repercussions, though. Dragging his optics away from the small form in Soundwave’s grip like he doesn’t care less, he stalks past the other mech. “I hope you have a good reason to be in my personal quarters,” he sneers.
• What? You’d honestly expected another violent outburst, but your captor doesn’t seem to care that this mech has you. Making that low, non-sound, the boxy mech drifts over to the desk Starscream’s settled himself at. You’re gently deposited on the surface before Soundwave points almost accusingly at your cage. “Inadequate.”
• And with that, he just leaves. Starscream stares, waiting for the door to close behind Soundwave before hooking a servo around your waist to tug you closer. It’s the same cautious, worried examination as when he’d rescued you from Skywarp and your heart softens a bit more, because he’s worried. Even if he’s never going to admit it. You lay a hand on his servo, again amazed how someone so huge and dangerous can be so gentle. “I’m okay.”
• He draws back slowly almost seeming embarrassed at being caught caring, optics flicking to your cage then away. “I just don’t like for my things to be broken,” he says, voice gruff as those wings lift even higher. Defensive and maybe annoyed at himself.
• The words are a reminder to not just him, but you it seems. You’re- what? A pet to him? Definitely not an equal and you’ll never be. Not a friend. He only cares because he’s decided you’re his. His possession. It hurts all the same even as you blame that ache on Stockholm’s. After all, he’s hardly your friend, he’s your jailer. You push his servos away, backing away and turning your back on him because your eyes are burning now.
• Surprised, Starscream’s hand freezes still outstretched as you pace to the far side of the desk. Turning your back on him. Ignoring him. His fingers slowly curl into a fist as anger trickles in. But he doesn’t move and neither do you. Slowly, the fury drains away to leave only that awful silence that weighs him down. Why does he even care? You belong to him, his little, trapped bird.
• But he prefers you smiling, agreeing with him, and asking about his day. Growling, he reaches to snag you, feeling your little hands grab at his servos. Your face whips around to stare at him and there’s anger there with the fear. Denta grinding as his jaw works, he sets you down again in front of him, laying both arms on either side of you in the pretense of using the keyboard embedded in the top and effectively trapping you.
• Well, then. You can’t even sulk in peace, apparently. It’s almost tempting to try and climb over his arm to retreat back to the far side of the desk just for spite. Or walk across his weird, alien-glyph keyboard while he works just like the cat he thinks you are. Annoyed, you sit down crosslegged and wait.
• Still ignoring him. Attention divided between his console and the human now partially sprawled out, their chin propped on their fist staring anywhere but at him, he vents. “If you’ll stop acting like an entitled sparkling, I might consider taking you outside to see the stars.”
• It’s almost comical how quickly you twist around to stare up at him. Even as he fights to keep from smiling, there’s a feeling of almost guilt that makes him look around and really see his empty, gray quarters. It’s never bothered him, because he doesn’t dwell on it, but he remembers making things just for the joy of working with his hands. Maybe it wouldn’t hurt to find you something to do when you’re left alone. “But I swear to Primus if you try and run off, I will put a leash on you,” he adds with a growl, punctuating the threat with a thump of his fist against the desk as you grin up at him.

Whenever I listen to Hooked On A Feeling by Björn Skifs I imagine a scenario of Blitzwing just being totally smitten by the little yellow autobot he just met and he's trying his best to court him.
He doesn't even hide it, he will just straight up ditch the entire fight to go talk and compliment the yellow mini and either the Autobots or Lugnut has to chase/drag him away.
The worst part is Bee is totally into it. He doesn't see why the heck this would be a bad idea, the big goofy weirdo(affectionate) just wants his attention and love. Said goofy weirdo is also not that bad-looking and strong. All of his oddities are just more of a lure to capture Bee's curiosity and interest.
Blitz would go and draw attention of citizen so the Autobots come and he'd sing and dance on a makeshift disco ring to flirt with Bee. When that fails he'd carve a giant ice statue of Bumblebee and present it to him and Bee will be so amazed. And when that fails due to the other Autobots dragging Bee away (as always) he'd show up to the emergency at the bridge Bee is at with Ratchet, stand nearby and hold up a sign saying "Please go on a date with me! <3" while blasting some love song he heard that the lyrics literally describe his feelings. Bee did jump off the bridge to get to him that time... unfortunately Ratchet had caught him and lifted him back up with the magnets before Blitzwing could catch him and run off.
Bee's teammates have to keep an eye on him at all times so he won't sneak out and go do something he'll regret. Bee is not happy that his friends don't want him to go and try be happy with another mech, he's very pouty whenever they tell him no he can't do that. So what if it's a 'con? He's never truly taken a side and only wears an insignia for the sake of having some leeway with other Autobots. All of them could be organics, monoformers, 'bots, 'cons or other-faction for all he cares. He just wants to have friends, doesn't matter what or who they are.
I imagine at one point in time on earth Bee took off the window in his room and has it on a latch or something so it opens like a hatch so he can sneak out via his room. He has a big trash container with a lid on the other side and few crates so he can climb down from the window. One time he manages to fool whoever is on the nightly watch over him so he won't sneak out (aka they check if he's still in his berth, this time he waited until the check pretending to recharge and then snuck out). He got out and drove to places he usually saw Blitz hanging out on patrols. He wasn't in any of those places but Bee waited some in one of them and sure enough Blitz did happen to come to that location that night. They were so happy to finally talk with each other properly without anyone hearing anything and interrupting every 3 minutes.
They hit it off near instantly. Bee is so curious and amazed by a unique mech like Blitzwing and Blitz is so enamored with Bee's personality and cute appearance. They dance, sing and laugh under the stars and it's like a love story come real. Of course, they meet few times in secret after that. Bee thinks about how to make others allow him to meet with Blitz... but just as he does that they hear a knock at the shutter and wouldn't you know, Blitzwing is standing there with big boquet of flowers and some small packages. Somehow he learned the location of where Bee lives by himself. Of course Bee grabbed his servo and led him in to play games together despite the others being very much startled by what the heck a 'con is doing in their house on a tuesday morning.
By that point they just give up all efforts to try to keep those two apart. It's pointless... At least Blitz doesn't seem as bad as they thought he was- he did bring them gifts to come into their favor after all.
So Blitz is a regular guest at the Autobot base. Bee is happy, Blitz is happy, and the others still keep an eye on them just in case. But they definitelly stopped being so paranoid over Bee.

Dating the Transformers Decepticon Boys.
Some little headcanons for some of the boys.
Shockwave:
Small hand in big hand, small hand in big hand!
Shockwave is reserved. Once in a relationship with you he has to come to terms with the emotions he thought he would never feel again. So he takes his time in coming to know both you and these new ideas and feelings that are surrounding him.
He's horny.
Despite being alone most of the time and focusing on his sciences, Shockwave will not pass up a single opportunity to get down in the berth. At first he would not interface at all, but now he likes to get in time at least once every couple of days, a week at most.
He's jealous. Easily too.
Another emotion he isn't used to it jealously, so when someone does something to turn that switch, whether it be talking, staring, or touching, he will lose it.
Everyone is already pretty scared of him, like Soundwave, he doesn't need to say or do much to make a point. But he will strain his stance above yours and shadow you with his structure. He'll burn his look into their soul until they get the hint and scurry.
His love language is gifts. He loves to present you with his projects and make different things for you. And he won't say it, but he will cherish every little trinket you bring him in return.
Behind closed doors when his work is put out of the way he is very affectionate. He wouldn't say it but he never thought you'd want him in a berth because of his lack of s left arm. But you two got around it and you make sure to nestle little compliments into your conversations.
Knockout:
One hundred percent the guy who will come around behind you as you use his tools and guide your hands while whispering the instructions in your ear.
A tease.
He loves to drop subtle hints around the Nemesis and will kiss you around the hallways.
Everytime you come back from a mission he urges you to the medbay and will look all over you for scratches or dents. Same before you leave, he wants to make sure those puny Autobots see his sparkmate at their best.
He is a tease, but he doesn't have as high a sex drive as someone like Predaking or Makeshift for example. He enjoys a good frag, but blow jobs under the operating table are his favorite kind of intimacy.
He is very jealous. Not in an insecure way, he is very sure in his image. However, he doesn't like when others make sly compliments about your frame. Sure, they can tell you how amazing your paint is or the curve of your hips, but if it's anything explicit he will be very upset. He'll threaten them with his blades, "If you want one so bad, why don't I give you a new look!" Or something along those lines.
If he's feeling more chill and sly, he'll walk over during the conversation and slip his servo against your hip plating. He'll caress your waist and watch with the smirk of the devil as the mech or femme slowly comes to realization.
He loves when you compliment him. His love language is words of affirmation and gifts, so you'll find a miniature version of his vehicle mode next to your bed or some other kind of trinket.
Predaking:
Very, very, very protective.
He makes sure to put any unworthy mech or femme in their place. The second anyone - even Megatron looks at you funny it is on.
He has a very high sex drive and will often leave you locked in your berth for hours just so he can love on you. He's mindful of your body however. He'll make sure to mark you his up and down your frame from your neck cables to your ankles.
He was eager to learn about you when he met you. He found an instant attraction and his long dormant mating protocols would roar to life every time you looked his way.
He will court you with shiny objects he finds. Often bringing back sharp scrap metal or rocks. He adores giving you gifts, but touch is his love language.
He could sit in his bed and hold you close until the world exploded. As long as you are with him he feels at peace and confident.
He was very shy around you at first. He wasn't a clumsy doufas, but he would show off his strength by straightening his stance and glaring down other mechs. He enjoyed showing off his beast form in front of you and would act so confident and put together. The second you opened a conversation with him. The poor boy couldn't put a sentance together he was so embarrassed and nervous.
Predaking is un-fucking-touchable. When the Vehicons or the commanders see the markings along your frame they steer clear. If any unlucky 'con is so dumb enough to get on Predaking's turf and even attempt to court his mate it's over. There is no point in running. Death in inevitable.
Either that or he will beat them to near death.
Once your back in his arms he'll hold you close the rest of the day and growl lowly at anyone who comes near.
The only person he trusts to be around you is Shockwave. As a predacon he is constantly in protect mode and anything that is his will be protected until he dies.
Megatron:
Megatron took a liking to you quickly. You caught his eye with how fluent you were with your tasks and how reputable you were on the battlefield.
Only the most powerful and fit can be his mate, and he thought you were perfect. So, he decided you were his. He wasn't exactly sure how to get your attention or how to work a relationship all that well. So he just started telling the vehicons you were his until you found out. When confronted with the facts he seemed only slightly embarrassed and more confused. "Yes..?"
You told him you'd think about it so Megatron let it be. Manz is impatient as fuck. He was so head over heels for you that if you couldn't make your mind then he would court you.
Poems. Poems. Poems. EVERYWHERE.
He would leave them on your desk, in your room, anywhere he knew you would see it. With respect of the vehicons because if they caught him being such a simp it would end his career.
He doesn't have the highest sex drive, but he enjoys fragging as much as the next 'con. Once he gets you in his room he will keep you there until he sees fit for you to leave. And whatever happens in that time happens.
He's also less of a jealous person and more protective. If someone makes s suggestive move or talks to you in a certain way he will act. Commanding and assured he will back them off and get you in his arms to protect you.
His love language is words of affirmation. He will praise you when you have done something good and you do so in return. He definitely enjoys it.
Starscream:
I can't decide between these two so I will leave them here... He is either super horny all the time, or, like Megatron he has a lower sex drive but once in the berthroom it can last quite a while. Round after round.
He gets flustered around you easily. He'll stammer and try to appear smaller and more innocent like he does when he is in trouble with Megatron.
Once he gets his hands on you however he is a tease to Cybertron and back. He will whisper words in your ears while you work or give your aft a pinch as you're walking by.
He doesn't hide your relationship either. Every seeker that exists knows of you two. He's not afraid to be open and deliberate about how you two are.
Therefore, most on the Nemesis are aware you are taken and busy themselves elsewhere. Those few who do might just get away with it.
Starscream is the most jealous out of everyone on the Nemesis. He is very insecure about himself and everything in general. All he is confident in are his dumb plans and his backstabbing ways.
Of a much larger mech attempted to court you he might just leave you to handle it. You're capable of saying no right? And if you don't then he'll be spark broken.
If it's a Vehicon or a seeker he will feel much more confident in himself. Often times using his rank to boss people away from you and back to work. But when he can't hide behind his rank he gets much more nervous. Overall, you're kind of on your own if things get physical.
"You scratch my back, I scratch yours," His love language is definitely acts of service/favors, and words of affirmation. He loathes getting praises and is a sucker for the treatment. But he also enjoys doing favors for something in return, and vice versa.
Soundwave:
An absolute cuddle bug in bed. When no one is looking he'll scoop you up in his large arms and hug you against his chest.
He never confessed his attraction, you came to him. He refused to confess, but he would leave you sweet notes and quotes from popular poems whenever he could.
He acts cold and distant but you know better. Soundwave isn't a mech who is known for his emotions. He does not speak and you are not an exception. The relationship can often feel one-sided and conversation is limited, but you find peace in it.
Your relationship is way underground and no one even suspects that the two of you are into each other. So when someone asks you out nervously on a date, you couldn't blame the guy.
Soundwave isn't jealous. He has learned to work around his emotions and has very good control over his outbursts. So before you respond he'll reply, "Negative." In a deep, almost threatening voice. Usually followed by you apologizing and explaining you are already taken and going about your business.
It's simple.
But if you are defied and they continue to push, he'll simply get Laserbeak to chase him away for a while.
You are very appreciative of Soundwave and all that he does for you. He love to kiss his faceplate and around his collar fins. And he enjoys it. He'll lean info you and purr happily as you kiss along his jaw.
Soundwave's love language can differ from time to time, but he most enjoys quality time with you. Even if he's working and drowned out in tasks he enjoys the presence you bring to the cold room. If your rambling on he'll do his best to listen.

How about a platonic request? How would Mtmte Ratchet, Rodimus and Whirl react to seeing their normally quiet and reserved human friend losetheir temper and completely go off on another bot. They might be small but that doesn’t mean they won’t try and defend their friend if needed.
Transformers MTMTE / LL Reader Inserts – Flying Off the Handle
A/N – Here is the first on the headcanons list that I’m shooting out.
Warnings – None.
Rating – T
Ratchet
Ratchet is a grown mech, older than most, and far too old to take this slag from a disrespectful young mech.
He’s about to go off on one of his old men tirades. It’s the kind that always makes the younger mechs feel ashamed, but you beat him to it.
“Are you fucking kidding me?” You seethe, glaring at a bot six times your size.
“What?” The bot deadpans, looking at you like you’re nothing.
“Ratchet does everything around here. You would be dead if it wasn’t for him and you have the nerve to backtalk?!”
This is where Ratchet jumps in. “I expect nothing from fools like you. Get out of my med-bay. Go on, ”
The other bot leaves grumbling.
You’re still full of energy and wish that you had chance to expend it, but now Ratchet’s attention is on you.
“Don’t ever do that again,” He orders, worried about all the ways that could have ended badly and the ways in which you might have gotten hurt.
“But-” You start.
Ratchet holds up a servo, “I can handle myself. Don’t do it again!”
You wilt slightly, upset that you’ve offended Ratchet when really it’s the opposite, but Ratchet doesn’t want you to get the wrong idea. In all honesty, he’s proud of you. You’re brave, polite, and when push comes to shove, you won’t take shit from anyone. But you’re also human, and humans are delicate.
“Promise me,” Ratchet says sternly.
You nod, then excuse yourself from the med-bay. You want to be alone for a while.
Rodimus
Rodimus is loving this. One minute the two of you were having a laugh at “Visages” then a bot said something about Rodimus being a bad captain and you had completely lost it.
You threw a bottle which smashed off the big bot’s chassis effectively getting his attention and then you started ripping into him, listing off all the good things that Rodimus has done as Captain.
The whole bar is watching you. The music stopped, but the dance lights are still going, painting you in a variety of colours as you continue to yell.
Somewhere across the bar, Rewind is filming this, and afterwards, Rodimus knows he’s going to ask for a copy of that footage.
Still, there is a small part of Rodimus that knows he shouldn’t be enjoying this. He knows that it’s irresponsible. The bot could fight back, or seek revenge and you could get hurt.
But… He’s going to let you go off a little longer before he calls off the attack. He needs to hear why you think he’s a good captain. You’re his friend, and he has to hear you say it, because you’ll tell it like it is; you always do.
Yet, just in case, Rodimus is ready to grab you or plce his servo in front of you at a moment’s notice, just in case.
Yet for now, he needs this, and by the rage in your voice, it seems that you needed to blow of steam too.
Whirl
If Whirl had a jaw to drop, he would. As is, the only difference in demeanour is that his pupil dilates as he watches you scream at the bot in front of you.
It’s usually him that flies off the handle at things. In every instance that he has known you, it has always been Whirl looking out for you, protecting you, and yes, often irrationally losing his temper when there’s an offhanded comment made about you.
You’ve heard other bots insult Whirl before. Usually, they don’t get very far before Whirl throws a punch.
Yet, in those instances, you always remained calm, or hid if Whirl was fighting since that’s what he always told you to do because he doesn’t want to see his human pet hurt.
On the few instances that you thought Whirl wasn’t there, he’s heard you defend him to other mechs. He knows you’re always telling other mechs how good he is but you’re always being polite about it.
Yet this time, a mech said something and Whirl and… For the first time, he really didn’t give a frag.
It was a lazy insult anyway so he just ignored it, thinking about all the times he’s nearly gotten you into trouble.
But this aft of a mech isn’t letting this go that easily. Whirl is trying to walk away with you in tow, and this guy just keeps pushing him,
Yet, before Whirl can lose his cool, you do.
“CAN YOU JUST FUCK OFF?!”
Silence follows. The other mech doesn’t know how to respond. Everyone knows you, and you’ve never once shouted… Except for Mario Kart Rainbow Road, but everybody shouts at that.
You don’t stop. “WHIRL IS DOING HIS BEST AND YOU’RE FUCKING PUSHING HIM. WHY? SO YOU CAN GET A REACTION THEN PRETEND IT’S ALL ‘COS HE HAS A SHORT FUSE. FUCK THAT.”
You stop shouting but you’re no less irate as you continue your tirade about how this is the problem. Everyone is so set on how Cybertronians should act since everyone has long memories, but sometimes, people want to change and personalities aren’t set in stone.
In the end, the offending mech looks a little bit embarrassed. He mumbles an apology to you, and you correct him, telling him it’s not you he should say sorry to.
The mech very bitterly chokes out an apology to Whirl who is all too smug about this and makes a big performance out of accepting the apology, only toning it down when you elbow his leg.
The next day, you wake up to a leather biker jacket lying on your bed. On the back, scribbled messily is one word: Bodyguard.

Drifting - Part 3
The Nerve Suit was skintight and left nothing to the imagination.
Casper had already tried plucking the thin layer of jet black second skin away from himself, but hadn’t been able to get any purchase on it with his covered fingertips. Looking back to the mirror, the only thing exposed was his face and shaved head. The young man grimaced, he’d never been one for hair styles, but cutting off his messy brown curls had been an unpleasent twist that he hadn’t expected when agreeing to this experiment. Glancing down in the mirror, he instinctively covered himself, the suit rendered him genderless at a glance, but it was still rather obvious after more than a passing glance.
“Casper?” Came a voice and the now telltale sound of robotic legs whirring and walking towards the room the human was stood in. He glanced back at his normal clothes, then at the mirror again.
“In here.” The young man called out. The sounds of the robotic legs go louder until he saw Wren appear in the mirror in the doorway to the room. She was atop her bipedal robotic platform that most geckins used around anyone larger than their single foot in height.
“They’re all ready for you. Last chance to run without anyone seeing.” The foot tall green geckin offered without emotion in her voice. Neither judging, nor leading him in a certain way. Casper suspected that she had her own horse in this race, but out of everyone who the young man had spoken to; she’d been the most warm.
“This is going to be fun.” Casper began, convincing himself as much as her as he turned and, whilst trying to ignore that he was very much on display to her, she matched his pace as he marched toward the hanger. Speed and stride wasn’t a problem for the geckin, at least not for their platforms. They could outrun Casper at the push of a button, completely ignoring they’d outlast him with the fusion cores that powered them.
“It’s certainly going to be interesting, but why would you use the word ‘fun’?” Wren asked calmly, keeping the conversation light, but still obviously monitoring the man. The small green geckin had become his doctor and psychologist of sorts. Carefully watching him and seemingly keeping the more extreme ‘Zeet’, the head engineer, in check.
“Well, we have media and fantasy stories about piloting mechs. Whole franchises that are built around the concept of bipedal or multi-legged technicals. Apparently, I’m living the dream, and I didn’t even need to train for it.” Casper shrugged, feeling oddly disconnected from the current events.
“You understand this is unlikely to be easy right?” The small green alien gently pointed out. A glance down at her and Casper noted how her neck ruffle was pulled tight against her. He gave her a wane smile and nodded.
“Oh yes, Zeet has explained at length that it’ll be like learning to walk again. Moving an arm or leg on its own, is its own thing. Even all four limbs is another level, but I’m going to be controlling a thirty-foot mech, dealing with its balance, its systems, everything.” Casper grinned and chuckled as they entered the hanger proper, and the noise went up significantly. Casper had to raise his voice somewhat to ensure Wren could hear him, she had to practically shout back at him.
“He made a big deal that I would struggle to balance it without a tail.” The human said with a smirk.
Wren grinned a sharp grin.
Taking a moment to look up at the giant machine, Casper could only be impressed.
The mech itself was a rough translation of a human body. Two legs, two arms, a torso and a head on top. They had toyed with the idea of a more mobile machine, with digitigrade legs or even giving him equipment for his first outing, but Wren had been present and argued them all down. In the end, it was her pointing out, not for Casper’s safety, but the cost of breaking or damaging complicated equipment if the first piloting effort failed.
No point in having a fancy jetpack if a panicked human trigged the jets and crashed into the ceiling, rending the bay unusable for the foreseeable future.
So as Casper gave the giant bipedal vehicle a critical eye, he noted that it was surprisingly thin. The legs were slim, several meters wide to a normal human, but compared to the rest of the mech it felt like they were too small to lift such bulk. Likewise, the arms were malnourished, obviously barebones. He could see pistons and wires. They were all strapped down and had metal plates protecting them in places, but this mech was not designed for anything other than an experiment.
A prototype. Saying their true mechs often looked like geckins; digitigrade legs for explosive speed and massive mechanical tails for balance. Casper had to guess that this was the first, truly humanoid machine they’d made… and only in the short space of time too.
Their industry capability was frightening.
“He was quite upset that he had to remove the tail section of the mech. No point in adding parts and complexity for the first step.” She pointed out, that wasn’t something Casper had heard yet. Interesting. The next time Casper spoke, it was to Zeet in the form of a short, sharp ‘good luck’ and nod.
“You look ready, like a real geckin pilot.” The blue geckin pointed out, gesturing to the skintight Nerve Suit from his position on his own mobile platform.
“Just a bit taller.” Casper grinned, but realised he made a faux par with the immediate frown form Zeet. “Sorry. Nerves. The suits pretty tight, I didn’t realise it would be like this.” The young quickly said, running a gloved hand over his stomach. Thankfully, this change in topic was enough to remove the dark look on the blue geckin’s face as they rejoined the conversation again. He had to remember that geckins were touchy about their height…
“Yes, well the Nerve Suit is needed to ensure the body has as little feedback from your true body as possible. It should be plenty light as it’s only a pawful of atoms thick.” Casper pulled a face and rubbed his fingertips together. He felt pressure, but not sensation other than how slick his grip was.
“You ready to climb in? Remember, we’re just calibrating. Remember; don’t be disappointed if you can’t run yet, all we’re looking for is movement. Wiggle the feet, twitch the fingers. Look up and down.” Zeet rambled, nervous all of a sudden at the prospect of the human experiment. He continued to run through a check list of basic movements.
“I understand Zeet, I’ll do my best for you.” Casper promised, unsure if he could reach out and touch the shoulder of the geckin, or if that would be too far. Was he supposed to be the nervous one? With everything going on with humanity, it seemed impossible that they would allow anything to happen to the young man. Like walking along a tourist bridge and it has a glass floor; this was all simulated danger, not real danger. Right? Casper turned to the mech itself and headed towards the team of technicians who were waiting for him. They were crowded around the open hatch where Casper would climb in like a pack of scavengers waiting for their prey to fall over.
The clamber into the pilot chamber wasn’t the issue, nor was the coffin-like pod that required Casper to lay down with his arms crossed over his chest, it was the needles. The pod pressed in on his legs, hips and shoulders, his arms were still free for the moment, but would be locked into place when the sarcophagus’s lid came down into place. The inside of the casket was filled with a gel that had given way by several inches as he sat down, then shuffled himself in. If he was struck by anything, or more likely; fell over, the gel would absorb the impact to his physical body. It would also swell, once he was sealed, securing him in place.
“Legs in place!” Called one of the techs as they fit a breather over Casper’s nose and mouth.
Then, after a moment, Casper was stabbed.
Along the various rivers and paths that followed his nervous system, hundreds of hair thin needles all stabbed into him like a wave of bee stings, causing the human to grunt and flinch. The shoulder locks stopped him from moving too much as the techs gave curt nods that all was well. Then a series of five needles thrust into and along the young man’s spine and he lost all feeling of his body.
His eyes snapping open and gasping at the sudden pain and of a fear that something had gone wrong! He couldn’t move!
Zeet appeared in his vision, next to two of the techs that were disconnecting tubes from the mech itself.
“You’re good. First disconnect from your nervous system is always the worst they say. We’re about to give up control on the mech, you’ll be in the dark for a few minutes, but that’s it. Blink twice if you understand.” Asked the blue geckin, staring down at the human. Without a voice, the young man, blinked twice.
“Outstanding, good human. Lets get this closed and submerge him. Casper? You’ll hear me over the radio. Follow my instructions. You’re going to be seeing the world from a whole new perspective.”
Casper tried to nod but was reminded again that he couldn’t move at all. He just laid there.
Flat on his back, from the perspective of a corpse in a grave, looking up at the techs and Zeet, as if they were mourners about to throw the first handfuls of dirt upon him.
Then the lid of his casket slid closed and sealed against him. He felt pressure on his body as the gel filled casket embraced him and then all was still. He couldn’t move, he couldn’t see or hear. He couldn’t smell anything. His body wanted to twitch, to move and kick. But even when he tried to test the limits of the pod, of the gel, he couldn’t feel anything. He couldn’t even tell if he was moving!
Panic was rather rapidly growing within his chest as he lay there, alone in a sensationless void.
Was this what death felt like?
“-asper? Casper can you hear me?” Zeet’s voice appeared in his head.
He tried to instinctively respond, to say ‘[Yes]’, but immediately felt and knew it was pointless, his [paralyzed throat and mouth meant talking was out].
“Excellent! We’ve got your feed here. You don’t need your throat anymore.” Came the excited reply.
[What?]
“You’re connected to the machine’s transponder. You talk, or try to talk like normal, and we will read you.” Zeet explained, Casper could hear the excitement in his voice.
[Is everything okay?]
“It’s going fantastic! We literally just turned this system on and you’re already communicating with us. You’re a natural, human! You ready for more systems?”
With nothing better to do, Casper thought of his reply.
[Sure, let’s do it.]
“Alright, give me a minute.”
It was a strange method to talk. Casper could… feel? The correct way to communicate. It wasn’t his unprocessed thoughts being transmitted. He could feel what he was sending to Zeet, like he was approving every syllable. What information the human wanted to send, was sent, and nothing more. There was no tone, no emotion. His words, thoughts, sentences, were words on a screen.
Light appeared, briefly blinding Casper, who squinted, and the hangar immediately came into focus. His head was drooped forward and for the most part he could only see the floor that had been directly in front of the mech itself. There were geckins down there all running to and fro. Focusing on one, Casper’s vision rapidly zoomed in and he could see each and every individual scale on the yellow geckin tech’s face, before Casper relaxed his eyes a fraction and his vision pulled out slightly. The geckin tech monitored a console that sat beneath the tower where Casper had entered, seemingly unaware he was being watched.
“Okay, we’ve turned on your external cameras. Do you feel any new sensations? Any sort of… connections that you can access?” Zeet asked carefully.
[I can see.]
“Yes, we want you to access those so you can see out of the cameras attached to the recon unit.”
[No Zeet, I can see. There’s a yellow geckin at my feet.]
“You can- Hoy! Who’s below us?” Zeet shouted, Casper could tell it was loud, but the radio wasn’t being ‘heard’ in the sense that the human wasn’t using his ‘ears’ to hear the radio. He was… understanding it without the need for such things.
As Casper watched, the yellow geckin reacted, looking up and waving his arms up at someone before shrugging.
“You’re right! You’ve already… Hah! Okay then. This is beyond what I was hoping for. I think we can jump a few steps.”
“Sir, this is ill-advised.” Wren voice said, coming over the radio loud and clear.
“You’re here as a courtesy doctor, you’re welcome, but now as a courtesy, you will not interfere with my work.”
[What’s happening?]
“We’re going to disconnect you from our power and control. You will have full control of the mech and its systems.”
[You said that was dangerous?]
“For a normal pilot yet. But your aptitude for this was off the charts. I think it’s time to jump a few levels.”
There was a flurry of activity as the geckins who were milling about at Casper’s feet suddenly began disconnecting from the various consoles and began disappearing from the edge of the human’s vision. He could see the metal platforms that counted as the mech’s feet, but aside from that and the bottom of the tower, there was just the hanger floor.
“Alright, we’ve got everyone to a safe distance. In a few seconds, we’re passing control of the whole mech to yourself. We won’t be in control of anything. You ready?”
[As I’ll ever be.]
“Good. Hand off in 3… 2… 1…”
The change was sudden and startling. Immediately, Casper’s legs buckled as his knees weren’t prepared to take the sudden weight of his body once more. His arms flung forward as the ground rushed up to greet him, but he stopped himself from bouncing his head off the concrete by completing a half press-up.
There was too much, too fast. His body felt, stiff; tight. Like he’d been in a cramped position for so long that his whole body was sluggish.
It was too much. Casper felt lightheaded, as if he was suffocating! His heart was pounding in his chest so fast that it was humming! A giant metal hand reached up and clutched at his metal torso, sparks flying as the two metals clashed against each other.
[Something’s wrong!]
“It’s fine, just activate your intakes.” Zeet ordered calmly, despite the panic rising.
“He’s panicking, eject him.”
“No, he just needs to start up the intakes. Casper? Your reactor needs air flow, active the intakes.”
“Power it down Zeet! His vitals are spiking.”
[I don’t. I can’t. My chest feels tight!]
The human was panicking, he could feel something was wrong, like he was running on empty, like he needed to close his eyes and lay down. It felt like he was dying.
“Casper! Batteries are running low, active the intakes!”
The words were less clear now, like his mind was swimming. The young man felt for the first time since getting into the machine his vision failed, like he was blinking despite not needing to before now.
Wren’s voice broke through the roaring and nonsense that Casper was being bombarded by.
“Breathe Casper! Take a breath!”
The human sucked in air as deeply as he could shocked that he had forgotten such a normal thing.
From outside, the vents that lined the pectoral area of the mech slammed open with great turbines that sucked in the vital oxygen needed for the reactor that sat in the centre of the mech’s chest. It burped to life and the exhausts along the back of the machine began to spew heat and a cough of black smoke. To the geckin engineers, the ever-pleasant noise of a system booting up to full power whined to life as the human mech heaved in an oddly biological movement.
There were no ‘lungs’ built into the machine, only vents, fans, and a reactor to power it all, but the way it was gyrating, put only the image of someone who had been suffocating gulping in air into their minds. The mech was currently on one knee, the other leg folded to support its weight. One arm was placed on the ground and the second was still touching the chest plate, scratching the bare, unpainted metal.
[I’m okay.]
“’Breathe’ doctor?” Snapped Zeet, not addressing or not seeing the text on his console that Casper had sent.
“He’s not trained on the technical specifications of a machine. His point of reference is what he can feel. What he knows.” Replied Wren, defensively, but not backing down.
“He said they had media of mechs, that it was a common fantasy. What popular media doesn’t have common sense specs?!” Barked Zeet’s voice.
“He’s not a geckin, he’s human. The importance of certain subject will be different.” She replied, still sturdy in her observation.
The voices in Casper’s head continued to bicker as the world stopped swimming and he slowly raised his head to look around. He felt less sluggish now, like he had started to shake the cobwebs from his bones and movement was easier, as if he was awake again. He felt strong. Fast. As if his body not just wouldn’t fail him; but couldn’t.
== 0 ==
To the outside, whilst Zeet and Wren continued to argue the toss, the techs watched as the giant mech’s recon unit raised up and scanned the hanger. With a great heave, one of the legs raised the body up in a single smooth movement before the second leg straightened and held the giant mech upright and proud.
The mechanical hands, simple things, were raised as the cameras of the recon unit that sat atop the mech inspected them, as if seeing them for the first time. This was more than any of the techs had expected. New pilots barely got their radios working after the first hour, let alone movement. Why was it so… biological in its movements?
“Sir?” Called the head technician, up at the two geckins that were still arguing over utilizing the correct terminology in a professional setting and pointedly ignoring the several hundred-ton mech that was now moving around in a manner that was thought impossible for the timeline.
The mech took a single step forward, then a second.
“Sir?!” Shouted the head tech again, more urgently now.
Thankfully, Zeet and the good doctor paused their debate to look round, only to realize the mech was no longer where they left it.
It was currently headed towards the great metal shutter that blocked the outside world from the hanger. Beyond the shutter was the proving grounds, where pilots that had finally fully integrated with their mechs would prove that they were ready for furthering the geckin interests.

I'd looove to hear a little about your worldbuilding process if you don't mind sharing. How do you go about it? I know you have shared in a few posts already but just wanna know moree. Also where did it all begin? What inspired you? (eating it all uppp!!!)
hi!! I know I wrote a big long thing like last year or the year before about the process to making a setting but I cannot be arsed to find it rn so here's some disconnected thoughts
Overall I don't really make Headworlds or Worldbuilding Projects the way a lot of people do (which is why u keep hearing me say 'setting' over and over) because mainly what I make are stories in the order of characters -> plot -> world. those three things have to serve one another in that order of importance, so the world itself bends to serve the narrative. for example, ultimately idgaf where the holy beasts' skeletons come from, that is not important because the beasts are basically just a big plot device to serve the story. i can make some post-hoc justifications for their existence (and i did) but at the end of the day it will not and does not matter how they work or where they come from. the world is full of mysteries that will never be solved because the characters are not in a position to solve them. aside from a single border conflict, the world outside the mezian empire is nebulous and unimportant.
I don't enjoy working in a world -> narrative order because what I want to produce isn't just a series of info posts or artpieces about a setting, but a closed and self-contained story which is the justification for the entire world's existence. Headworlds that are all world and no character don't interest me.
So basically in the process of worldbuilding, I have to serve the story. A while back I made a post about continental history around Inver, all these wars and occupations and schisms and so on. All of those exist solely to provide a particular political climate, justification for Aquitan's theocratic structure, and the spread of the southern church north into Inver. I already had the idea of this church, that it would be integral to the country as a main political faction, so now I have to figure out how it got there and the political ramifications of that. It's all worldbuilding for sure, but it's a support structure underneath the story about how that church eventually changes world history, because i wanted to write a story about a church lol.
I guess if I wanted to explain The Process for a world -> characters setting i'd just be giving you How To Write A Story 101 lol. But basically: I think of a concept which interests me (big mechs yay). Then I think of a conflict that might arise (where does the fuel come from? who controls that supply? what might that do to the concentration of power in this area?). Then I put a character in what I consider to be the most interesting position to observe the effects of this conflict (a knight, an enginesmith, an exile), and honestly the main plot generally writes itself after that. I extrapolate the hook from that.
In terms of characters, I try to avoid calling them 'ocs' because in my mind 'oc' tends to be a very static stand-alone thing. Like I couldn't make a useful ref sheet of my characters because they are all changed by the story. I couldn't say 'he has a carefree personality' because in a few chapters no he fucking won't. in the same way i struggle a LOT to talk about my Siren setting which as close to a specbio 'headworld' as i'm ever gonna get, because I am worldbuilding in vastly different time periods at once in a world which is always changing, i can't make a post about for example a map of Siren because that's just a map from one era, I'd need to make a dozen maps to show how things change, how time affects it all, etc.
Because nothing is ever static and everything is in flux, pretty much the only way I can handle a setting like this is, again, just to focus on a few small stories centered around a cast of characters separated by time (i have... 4 distinct stories in Siren. maybe more). this is actually a frustrating barrier to me sharing any information at all about this place lol i'm the struggler
Where did it all begin? When I was 11 I used to write stories in my copybooks in class. There has never been a time where I was not making stories and where my stories were not the only important thing at all to me, superseding literally everything else. I learned how to draw digitally in 2011 because I wanted to draw my characters.
What inspires me? Everything lol. I actually don't have time to Consume Media much, I struggle watching movies or tv and I mostly hate video games because I would much rather be productive and sitting and watching a screen feels like a waste of my time. but I like reading books because I can take them with me on my phone. I get ideas from all sources but mostly non-media sources, like obviously mythology but also my history with the church and my scientific education. Usually nonfictional sources interest me the most (i was going to write a whole story that was a post-apocalyptic plague plot based on canine transmissible venereal cancer haha and even to this day that's where "the Immortal Hound" title comes from, little easter egg in inver)

World building/Storybuilding: BattleTech+Pern
I said I would do it, and so here we go.
Pont the first: IIRC from *Dragonsdawn*, a one of the reasons that many of the original Pernese colonists were willing to leave their lives behind and try to make a go at down-teched pastoralism on a resource-poor planet out beyond the edges of settled space was because a big chunk of them were veterans of a brutal interstellar war. Also, because it was Admiral Benden's idea, and after the leadership he showed during said war, they were willing to follow him anywhere.
Well, that sounds familiar. So the original colonists being a segment of the Exodus Fleet that misjumped to ~2,000 years into the past somewhere in the Deep Periphery makes sense. And really, who but the SLDF is going to have a sapient supercomputer and the ability to turn small psychic flying lizards into Dragons? I'm gonna leave out the dolphins, though.
You are perhaps asking, wait, if you are leaving out the dolphins, why are you including AIVAS? Well, because I want to not just have Peen exist in BT, I want it to be RELEVANT, and since it's a single, resource-poor largely pre-industrial world, that means I need to give them as many advantages as possible, and an advanced AI with all the knowledge of the Star League goes a long way towards that goal. For the same reason I am considering having Yokohama be a WarShip. Although it's been sitting in orbit without maintenance for 2500 years, it probably isn't in fighting shape even before they used it to move the Red Star (can you do that with KF Drives, BTW?). I also considered that they have basically a Brian Cache at Landing, but again over 2500 years with no maintenance, and also that might be a bit much
Anyways. It's noted that the Dragonrider playbook was adapted from space fighter tactics, and AIVAS still recognized them as such in the Ninth Pass, so theoretically Dragonriders can be retrained as ASF pilots. Although, I am not sure that's needful: I vividly remember an illustration in The Dragonlover's Guide To Pern that show Ramoth as being roughly the same size as a jumbo jet. Ramoth is, of course, the biggest dragon ever, but there's no indication that she has gigantism, so one presumes the other Golds, while smaller, are of roughly similar size, that the Bronzes are only somewhat smaller than that, and the Browns only slightly smaller than that. Who knows about the Blues and Greens? But anyways, something that big dropping on your head out of *between* (stupid phone not letting me italicize on Tumblr) is going to ruin pretty much any Mech's day, even if they weren't also able to breathe fire or yoink you off to *between*, and maybe do other TK tricks.
Ok, so. As you might imagine by what I have said thus far, I am figuring that, on the Pern side of things, the planet is rediscovered during All The Weyrs of Pern, or perhaps slightly after if we leave out AIVAS deactivating itself. Not sure what's a good time on the BT side, or by who or how, and no idea what comes next.
Hence my asking y'all. Please help?

Hello! Could you write some relationship headcanons for IDW Pharma and Sunder (separate) with a human s/o? Btw, nice writing and have a good day!
I tried by best, I don't really know Sunder or Pharma like that, SOOO if it feels a little OC-ish then thats why. ALL I DO KNOW IS THAT for a while and I mean like jsut a few minutes ago, I thought Sunder was a very cute yellow robot, UNTIL I WAS LIKE THEY ASKED FOR PHARMA WITH SUNDER, something isn't right. ANYWAYS, I hope this is what you were expecting and looking for, anyways ENJOY :)
Characters: IDW!Pharma and IDW!Sunder
Pharma
He likes you? like slightly likes you? Likes you little bit? Enough to get his spark going? Noooo it can't be! He's in denial, He doesn't want to believe he has caught feelings for such a small fragile person. He simply just doesn't belive it, and never will.
He's paid off a lot of people to get his way, so his first thought is you've been sent here by someone, to gather info or just be a spy. He is NOT vibing with the Spy S/O.
I feel like he just has far to many trust issues to even think that someone likes him, let alone that he likes you! This causes problems, hands down, the roughest and hardest part of the relationship, will be getting him to actually open up and shii. He'll suspecct you of everything, but then go back on it a bit later, simply because how could he be mad at you, the only person whos ever actually loved him.
He has the same thing I feel like most people have when theyre a docotor and their S/O is another species. HE WANTS TO KNOW MORE ABOUR HUMANS. So i feel like he'd ask a bunch of questions, he'd push you or watch your do somehting and be like, "yes dear, Now how are you feeling?" ya know? He asks all types of things, do you have three stomachs? how long can you run? Do you breath willingly?? Or is it something you HAVE to think about to do? He jsut wants to know.
He doesn't mind you knowing about what he does, unlessssss its during Delphi, he doesn't want you being a part of anything at Delphi. But if its before he won't care or mind, he'll show you different things about Cybertronians and answer any of your questions. He likes knowing youre interested in his people and their anatomy
One more thing about Delphi Pharma, this is the only version of him that will consecutively lie to you, no matter what is happening. He WILL lie, for anything. It does not matter, it'sd just something he'd do.
I feel like he's the kinda of mech to let you sit on his shoulder, or he carries you around on his servo when he's not doing anything important.
He enjoys your touch, really enjoys your touch. I love the idea of just the warmth of your hands are what drags him in soooo thats what we're going with. He likes being able jsut to feel that warmth and the weight of you. It somehting he never gets tired of, sooo he often has you taking naps on him.
He just gives guy vibes, like he's here and does his job and then delphi hits and everything goes down hill for him. SOOO he's just a normal person in a relationship, hes touchy but careful, he loves you but also doesn't belive you actually like him back. He has no traits that are like THIS ONE IS CRAZYYYY, not like Sunder, Overlord, or Trepan at least.
Sunder
THE LAST MF ANYONE WAS EXPECTING TO GET INTO A RELATIONSHIP
Since he's like uhh idk crazyyy, He doesn't know what a normal relationship is like, escpecailly since youre human. SO I want it to be known he doesn't do normal things
His "Bonding" time is just staring at you. Optics wide and empty as he studies every inch and mucsle on your body.
NO TOUCHY TOUCHY, I feel like he freaks out over being touched. If its really early in the relationship he's just like no, nope, not today, but if its late he's okay with the occasional hand resting on him when youre talking to him. Just so you can get your point across. He may not be big on it, but he does slightly enjoy the warmth form your hands. PLUS he remembers everytime you've ever touched him, so it works out in the end
Since he like worked with memorys and all, I feel like the right thing to say is he'd fuck with your memories, but I just don't think he'd do that to his S/O. I feel like since youre different, he's fascinated with your brain and memories. He has datapads on datapads about your life, your memories, the way your brain works. He loves when you tell him newer stories, or when you have one of those "this reminds me of" moments. HE'D STOP EVERYTHING JUST TO HEAR YOU.
He has strong ass urges to do the things he's done to other on you, just so he can see what's going on in your small fragile brain. He gives those vibes of always wanting to know what someones thinking, he just has to know if you thinking about him, or a memory you hold dear, or if youre thinking about somone else, He just HAS to know!!
I feel like he would lie to you, LISTENNNNN LISTENNN. He'd do it jsut to keep you away form whatever he's doing, Meetings with primus knows who, nah I'm just going for a session, ill be back. Killing someone, nope just meetin with some old friends. He DOES NOT want you knowing what he's doing, he likes the perfect little image you have of him in your head, so why shatter it now.
Okay, one more! He can get very yandere like. If you're with someone he doesn't like or he knows they are not good or have good intentions. SOOO WITH ALL THIS OTHER STUFF, I'm giving him basic yandere traits, He loves you dearly, so don't screw this up, He doesn't have his entire life to spare for you, even if he wanted too.

"it shouldn't be so hard to believe it was some sort of ruse," he says as he stares into the reflective surface. a mirror, the earthlings call it — it just looks like a big sheet of glass, to him.
"well, of course it isn't easy. it is not as if we were always cruel with each other before everything," he continues as he peels away old paint, "but it would hurt far less if i believed what everyone else keeps telling me, even if they do not know what they are saying."
"it is most unfortunate that our paths must keep crossing like this."
"i cannot get enough of your optics no matter our circumstances."
sorry i got carried away i am horrid at requesting things..Decided id just thrust this into ur inbox Lawl. but also a combo of your and my posts has moved me from my slumber. sorry again
I'M SORRY IF I TAKE THIS AND RUN WITH IT IN A DIRECTION YOU DIDN'T MEANNN I'm just ITCHING to write thisss!!! Also, don't apologize!!! YOU'RE JUST EVIL FOR ASKING ANON!! Now I can't stalk your page and read what you have written qwq (if you post.)

Optimus stared at Megatron through what should have been one-way window. Yet knowing full well Megatron could see him.
The Prime was at first surprised to learn that Megatron had been captured by MECH. Embarrassingly enough, he had already thought up of countless arguments and counterarguments on why it would be a good idea for him to rush in to save — prevent MECH from dismantling Megatron and using him to create weapons or other devices that could be of equal danger, if not more so to the Autobots.
Things are a blur now to Optimus as he stands alone before his enemy. Ratchet, the only other bot to join him, standing outside to guard and warn Optimus for any ambush or trap.
"Optimus," Megatron purrs. "Rushing to save me after getting my distress signal? Please," His small movements somehow emphasized the red splotches on the ground. Dead humans. "You really shouldn't have."
"Megatron." Optimus glares. "Why are you still here? You could have blasted these walls and escaped long before I arrived. Is this a trap?" He decides to cut to the chace.
Megatron, for once. Remained eerily silent. Staring at Optimus's optics with a serious, pondering look. "Well, something seems different about you, Prime. Can't quite put my digit on it.."
"Don't change the topic, Megatron! Answer me." The Prime stepped closer to the glass. Wondering if he should just break it to get to Megatron.
"Ah, yes. I recall now.. I think it has something to do with these late night outings of yours?" Megatron grinned widely once he saw Optimus very visibly still.
"How much do you know."
"Enough." Megatron purred, walking to the flimsy excuse of a glass wall that is keeping him from Optimus.
"What are you planning?" Optimus asked again, clenching his weapon. His fighting spirit still strong. It doesn't matter what Megatron knows. Just what Optimus will do.
Megatron grinned wider, and before he could say anything, a bright explosion made Optimus unable to see for a few seconds.
Chaos ensued.
-TO BE CONTINUED-
(IM NEVER GOING TO FINISH THIS AND IM SORRYYYY BUT YOU HAVE GIVEN ME SO MANY IDEAS FOR FUTURE POSTS BUT IT FELT UNFAIR TO POST THEM WITHOUT FIRST POSTING THIS ONE) I will post stuff inspired by what you suggested though!! I ACTUALLY HAVE STUFF WRITEN DOWN ON A JOURNAL!! Idk how to give you credit, but if you see something that seems like it was inspired by your ask. Then it was ✨️

Again, what frustrates me about Federation Force's mech gimmick is that it's rendered useless by scaling up every enemy as well. What's the point of saying you're using a mech, if you don't feel like you're using one; You're still the same size as enemies. Hell, even the environment is scaled up, and I'm talking about manmade structures! The doors are conveniently your size, as are railings, various devices, etc.
It just utterly breaks the illusion of being in a giant mech; You can only really tell because of the cutscenes where the mechs are actually contrasted with the pilots, and that one level where you're forced to leave your mech and sneak around those giant pirates as a normal-sized human. That IS good, but it's just one level!
And again, why is every door sized up??? Like from an in-universe perspective, the amplification beam made an entire army of pirates gigantic, so they probably needed tech and architecture to accommodate this new size. But from an artistic perspective, it just makes the whole mech angle even more pointless, especially when the mechs look like regular humans in armor; Their proportions match the human pilots, so for most people who only know Federation Force by a glance and osmosis, they probably don't even realize it's a mech game! I was one of those people for a while!!!
Even the Metroids, one of the series' most iconic and recurring enemies, the titular mascot, for whom we DO have a consistent understanding of relative scale... is also sized up, instead of being used as a reference point. It's one thing to have a new alien enemy be conveniently gigantic from the start, but the pre-existing Metroids being made that way just feels like you couldn't be bothered to consider how being in a big mech would change the way you interact with the Metroid universe, compared to how Samus would; Especially when your arsenal and gameplay mimics Samus'.
There's no art direction, is what I'm saying; The environments, the enemies, they aren't designed around the idea that you're in a giant robot. It's just another regular environment. One of the things I remember learning about VFX is that adding more details can help create the illusion of something being bigger, because it has more space for more detail, that sort of thing. But this is a game on the 3DS, plus it's a simplified chibi art style that throws off the proportions in general.
It'd have been cool if there were a lot of small doors and hallways that you couldn't access because you're too big; Imagine levels in buildings being designed around the idea that you're navigating giant hangars and all that. The immersion is lost if every room is conveniently enormous for these mechs. The doors themselves could’ve been different from the typical ones in Metroid, for example they’re clearly gateways, to differentiate them from smaller barrier-operated doors. Sometimes you just create doors by smashing through walls because you're a giant mech!!!
It's lazy. It's half-assed. There's no thought put into it; It’s generic. The mech aspect of the game feels tacked on, last-second, like the mechs were supposed to be regular-sized humans in special armor, but someone felt like there needed to be some gimmick to make the game seem more interesting. So they threw in some cutscenes with smaller human models, and one level where you have to sneak around the bigger pirates. But everything else fails to reflect the idea. Why.
The art direction could've been so fun, the gameplay could've revolved around your titanic size, and maybe synergize mech gameplay with gameplay as just a regular pilot who can get out and back in whenever you please. And that could play into the larger teamwork aspect, you could make puzzles based on your pilot having to leave the mech! But noooooooooooo! I was ambivalent towards Federation Force until I found out the player characters are supposed to be mechs, and now I'm pissed. You could've had a really fun concept to mix up the Metroid formula and stand out from other games, make this spin-off take advantage of and embrace that it's so unusual. BUT YA DIDN'T. Metroid Prime Pinball is unironically more creative and thought out around its core gimmick than this.

i miss this. I've just been in such a non-creative rut for the last few years. But i'm just starting to break out of it lately. Even started a bone sculpting project a few weeks ago (processing the bones is talking several weeks as it turns out)
Anyway i saw a post on here yesterday that got me briefly interested in my old video game idea and the artist who posted it just agreed to let me commission them to do concept art for it and i'm getting pretty excited about it!
So it's time to go back through and reconnect with Starsys 9 my dream video game project.
It combines a mix of genres, so players can be like, a cyborg human piloting a robot mech, or an alien beast creature, or an elven vampire necromancer, etc.... playing these diverse characters in a MOBA ARPG with FPS and RTS elements.
(please excuse my "drawings", you can see why i'm excited to commission someone for some better concept art)
there are 3 factions: Cyberians, the Sporeborn, and Dimenkind
Cyberians - humanoid cyborgs that often pilot robot mech suits
Sporeborn - Different alien species (many insectoid) all unified through infection by a sapient fungus
Dimens or Dimenkind - fantasy/horror genre characters like dwarves and werewolves that are pulled from other dimensions by godlike cthulhuic trans-dimensional beings (hence the name Dimens, from the word dimension, but also like demons)
each faction requires some but not all of the resources available on the planet, (water, organic hydrocarbons, minerals/metal, sulfur, methane) and they fight for access to, or control of, these resources. Resources typically need to be harvested and processed, and each faction has special installations/work units to do this.
Each faction has access to specific types of damage, with some overlap. Each faction tends to have weakness to certain damage types and resistance to certain damage types. Cyberians do: kinetic(bullets)/explosive/physical (melee)/electric/laser Sporeborn do: plasma/physical (melee)/chemical/biological Dimenkind do: physical (melee)/elemental/magic damage/curse damage (debuffs)
The total effect of resource needs, damage weaknesses, damage resistance, and damage capabilities results in a sort of nesting doll system of rock/paper/scissors relationships
Each faction maintains a control zone, in which their dominant resources are provided to player characters for free in AOE dispersal fields.
Cyberians use relay beacons to broadcast resources as particle beams made of individual atoms to be reconstructed into materials. Sporeborn use spore piles to waft clouds of spores that provide sporeborn characters with resources, and Dimens use altars that generate large circles of magic energy.
Another key feature of the game is team-leading. Each player has a certain number of points to spend on npc supports that are assigned to them. There are three size classes of support, each size class costs a different number of points, so a player can choose how to spend their support points to have a whole bunch of small supports, or one of each size, or one big one and a few small ones etc. Some skill tree options increase the number of points available to spend on supports.
Cyberian supports are droids and bots, Sporeborn supports are spore-infected alien animals, and Dimen supports are goblins and zombies and trolls and things.
personal npc supports can be given complex commands using a communication wheel. Leveling up increases the number and complexity of these commands
Each faction's control zone also has unassigned npc supports wandering around doing control zone maintenance and upgrade tasks. Players can temporarily command a couple of these unassigned npcs, as players raise their rank they increase the number of npcs they can claim in this way. These npcs can only be given a small number of very basic commands. However, they can be put under the control of the players personal supports, assigned to perform the same behaviors as that support unit, who can then be given the more complex commands. In this way groups of unassigned npc supports can be deployed by player characters to perform complex maneuvers as a unit.
Additionally, each faction has a technique for taking over command of enemy npcs. Dimens can raise dead npcs, Cyberians can hijack npcs trekie-borg style, and Sporeborn can infect npcs with their fungal spores
There is a lot more (character class breakdowns, huge portions of additional gameplay mechanics like how the RTS elements work, i even wrote a short story as a kind of trailer to introduce the game and showcase a sort of vibe for it) but this post is long enough already

This was made only so it wouldn't bother me in my head later down the line
Obviously i do not want to tag the owner of the Carnival au because i'm anxious and we all know why i'm anxious (spoiler: it's because fnf doesn't have a good reputation)
Carnival Funk: a hypothetical fnf mod of @sm-baby 's Carnival au of The Amazing Digital Circus because honestly i'm bored lol
It's a collection of random songs for random situations, just like with the previous Murder Drones fnf mod idea, where either Bf deals with the horrors of the Carnival or it's someone else from the place doing so... Or it's goofy goober stuff idk pick your poison
I already got a few ideas for songs for the cast, starting with... Jax :)
Idk what's it called, probably like- "cartoon violence" or sumn idk i don't got good ideas often hhh
It's definetly got more old timey cartoon music stuff like whistling and all that jazz, but the general idea is there! Song with guitar and stuff that give off this vibe of a ruined childhood and a once happy-go-lucky rabbit having gone mad in his isolation and overall sentience just being overwhelming.
There's also Ragatha, the toxic positivity ragdoll with a british accent and breakdowns over spills
It's prolly called like- idfk uhhh "Imperfect" and my god does this song FIT
It's all nice and chill and they're all happy and relaxed drinking their tea and then suddenly something goes wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong
Ragatha's Fucking Pissed And Now She's Out For Blood™
Now Zooble... Zooble... Dearest hottie Zooble... What to do with you...
I was saving the The Blueballs Incident stuff for later...
This one's probably named "Gamemaster" because. Zooble is the game master
It's like- the first song where Bf is in like- third person view(??? What do you call the pov from behind a person??? Help???????) because, although it starts small with Zooble singing through the speaker or sumthin', you'll end up against A Big Friggin' Zooble Mech Holy Hell™
Last but not least of my ideas is Kinger... THE MOST FUCKED UP in my opinion
Jax is violent, Ragatha is aggressive towards imperfections, Zooble has full dominion over it's shapes and has the gloink queen as their pet, but Kinger? He outright takes the role of Caine as god.
"GODLY"
I like to think he's capable of making fucked up shit like spawning fake messed up copies of things, in this case that thing in question is Gf! Who's absolutely body horror'd through the magic of glitches! Don't ask questions you don't want answers to!
Don't think that's it tho, i didn't touch upon the others yet :)
Edit: i felt brave, there's the tag

to my movie morro enjoyers yall got me curious so i did some research and tweaked the laws of youth criminal justice cause it's a movie about legos
WHOOH i expanded on this a lot and its not even all the options
uhhh should i tag the people who said they wanted to see my half ass ideas
@star-ocean-peahen @here4dragons i know hes TECHNICALLY not the villain here yet,, but its coming Soon. just ignore if you dont care SORRY BOUT THE TAG 💀💀
so morros role in the gang is he like collects intel n shit, scouts and/or recruits new members, makes plans and gives orders from the boss (preeminent) so hes sorta like the preeminents ambassador. general?? right hand man?? number 2?? something. occasionally he participates in very low key crimes where his face and identity could be hidden. never does anything big and flashy, so hes the least likely to get caught and thats one of the reasons hes so high up. the boss usually has a business to cover for the gang so the preeminent has a bar or a nightclub or something where they allow you to cover your face and morro works there to be like,, closer so its easy to recieve orders/info or something yk. when asked he says hes small for his age with a VERY obvious undertone and they leave it at that, cause so what if the nightclub is a little sketchy, goddamn this kid whips out drinks faster than anyone. hes very in the shadows undercover and thats why they couldnt catch him/had no evidence he was high ranking (i need a gang name help should it just be cursed realm?? cursed spirits maybe)
IF we want morro to just have general shenanigans with the ninja then hes on parole. if you dont know what parole is basically they let you out after 2/3rds of your sentence to let you integrate back into society or something, but youre still under supervision. so the timeline is morro starts his criminal activity at 14, gets caught and arrested at 16 and then gets released at 17. if youre worried about the 3 years in the above post trust me the logic checks out
they KNOW morros the criminal mastermind running shit behind the gang, they just cant find any way to prove it so he only gets sentenced for gang affiliation. he spends around a year or so in juvie and they let him out for the next 6 months
they let morro stay with wu cause hes like,, the head of the fucking ninja team he can handle himself, BUT he has to have security guards accompany him to school to keep an eye on him/watch for signs of him actually being highly involved in the gang. lloyd is real fucking embarrassed about it cause morro loves to come up and bother him, and it attracts even more unwanted whisperings about garmadons cousin who went to JAIL. morro bothers him even more because of it
no one knew morro was lloyds cousin, so when the ninja show up to the garage one day and find the fucking ex convict just chilling on lloyds mech theyre like ??? WHY ARE YOU HERE. they knew lloyd had a questionable cousin when he mentioned he got out of jail, but they didnt know it was HIM. like i said, morros infamous for being a mastermind escape artist (i kinda want to give him an alias so drop suggestions 👀👀) even better wu walks in and he goes "ah i see youve met my son morro!!" and the ninja go batshit cause wu had mentioned visiting his son in jail which already rose so many unanswered questions back then, but not THIS GUY
im debating on whether lloyd knows morro was a criminal during the three years or not. cause if he didnt know it would be really funny when morro/the gangs arrest was on the news and lloyd goes 👁👁 THATS MY FUCKING COUSIN. but if he DID know he sees him on the news and hes like "lmao get fucked wait till i tell uncle wu" (again,, drop the opinions)
wu knows he was a criminal pretty early on and absolutely does not give a shit cause movie wu is bat ass crazy and jaded to fuck. he sees morro on the news in his like gang getup and goes oh look at him go 😄😄 i hope he remembers to tuck in his feet like i taught him to 😄😄😄 morro was terrified when he got caught by wu, but all he did was lay out two hard rules. 1. no killing innocents and 2. no drugs. morros like ?? thats it?? and wu just sort of stares at him and goes ‘‘i believe so. now don’t you have somewhere to be?’’ and morros like yeah.. i got a bank to rob at 2. JUST TO BE CLEAR morro has NEVER ONCE KILLED ANYBODY just to be safe, even though wu was all for dismantling the dictatorship or patriarchy and whatnot. when morro gets arrested wu visits him just to laugh at him (im copy pasting most of this from tags from this post lmao)
wu absolutely makes morro train the ninja cause lets be honest theyre dogshit without the mechs. morros idea of training is jumping them all around the city at random times. he bullies them so hard jay is on the verge of tears every day
(thank you @l0on for so many of the ideas 😌😌 find them in the reblogs)
morros got the cool older cousin vibe who acts like he doesnt care and he actually doesnt care. idc what yall say he does NOT go easy on lloyd just because theyre cousins.
this is all set after the movie btw. morro only got away with so much for so long because everyone was occupied with garmadon
soo if we want him to be like the actual villain thats gonna be in another part cause god DAMN this got longer than i thought it would
#jellos movie morro au#don’t ask why or how i went into so much detail about gangs and accurate jail time#they actually do get a couple years for gang affiliation yk#gang affiliation is just when youre like associated with a gang/on friendly terms/knew they were going to commit a crime#something like that#my search history o7#if youre actively in a gang you get way longer#and then add that to the sentence for the crime#but thats what i get into in the next part 👀#look what yall did. you made me make a third au#JOKES this is so fun#ninjago#lego ninjago#morro ninjago#ninjago morro#morro wu#the lego ninjago movie#movie morro#ninjago movie morro#ninjago movie au#lego ninjago movie#ninjago movie#tlnm#tlnm au#ninjago au#lloyd ninjago#ninjago lloyd#lloyd garmadon#lloyd montgomery garmadon#movie lloyd

Presenting the graduating class of 5507:
This is a big one, and it's gonna really hurt. This doesn't just represent the core of the colony's fighting ability, but the kids who handled a lot of the day-to-day work. Also it's going to break Yoshiko's heart, because every single one of these were under 13 when they showed up, so she adopted them all. I mean, you can adopt people over 13, but that's kinda the cutoff point I set for now. Anyway, yeah, two sons and three daughters ready to head out into the world.
Also? Not a single missing limb among them. Stein's missing a finger and a toe, but that barely counts.
Stein, despite being paralyzed when he first showed up, missing a chunk of his childhood as a result, and needing genetic modification before he was even safe to keep around, has become basically the adult in the room when Yoshiko's not around. He's great with a gun and just about single-handedly responsible for taming and controlling all of the colony's war animals. As many animals as that is, and as few robots as we have (more on that later), he's probably a bigger help in a fight than Yoshiko herself. He has 102 kills.
Who's gonna train our huge pile of war animals once he leaves? Good fucking question. Literally might have to eat some of them.
Also Yoshiko bit his toe so hard that it bled once, so that was fun. Thanks to his weird appearance, it's rare for him to have many friends in the colony, but I'm sure as hell gonna miss him.
Wester has been here since she was 4 years old. She might be the graduate who's lived here the longest? Which I guess might explain why she's close with almost everybody. She blew up a mech cluster with a synthetic tornado that one time. She's solid with a gun, the best artist around, and just generally competent or better at most things. Oh, and she and Manny did basically all the gardening, so that'll be fun to lose.
Thanks to the overlap of her artistic development with the colony's peak rabbit population, she made a lot of sculptures depicting people sterilizing rabbits. And rabbits getting eaten by predators. And rabbits getting shot by the colony's enemies. I think that keeping dozens of free-roaming rabbits around when you have small kids is maybe a bad idea.
Manny has only been here since she was 10, and upon turning 13 she decided that she's a pacifist. Fortunately, she's good at basically everything that isn't combat or mining, and you know what? Having a really good doctor waiting back at the base, who's almost guaranteed to not have a fresh bullet wound, has proven pretty handy after a lot of firefights.
The whole 'adoption counts people as Kin rather than Sons/Daughters' thing struck here, in that the game recognizes that Manny and Cisneros have some kind of familial relationship, but doesn't consider it close enough to prevent romance. So those two are dating.
Tiger is, it must be noted, ugly as fuck.
You'd think this would be a bigger deal than it is. Not only is most of the colony willing to overlook this, but she did a lot of research, which meant a lot of time sitting by Yoshiko and chatting, so they've usually been pretty close. She's also a gun-obsessed weirdo, so Yoshiko's trend of adoring small violent children continues.
Tiger's probably the third-best combatant in the colony after Yoshiko and Stein, and her accomplishments include: once snapped and did about half of the drugs in the storeroom all at once, walked away addicted to a couple of things, and spent the next year or so fucking miserable.
Cisneros has, for whatever reason, been Yoshiko's best friend pretty much since the day he arrived. She adores her weird blue cat son. Whereas he's like the one person in this list who isn't a national-level expert in multiple fields of endeavor, and he's not very good in a fight, so I will miss him the least.
Bye, kids. I'll miss you. (Except Cisneros.)

once i bite, i don't let go
transformers, original work / drina / wc: 735 / warnings: NA / notes: for yumetober prompt 2, pets! / consider commissioning me!
Rina is sitting next to Drift's holoform. They're on a bench in the middle of a park- a more wooded park, one might define it as a trail. Drift had wanted to "get out there" and learn more about "Earth nature" now that the seasons were changing, and he'd recruited Rina to find a good place for them to actually go.
To be fair to Rina, she didn't get out a lot. She was distinctly more indoors-y- a fear of bugs and an internet addiction will do that to you. So yes, maybe her university hiking path wasn't the best idea she could come up with, but it was something, and Drift seemed happy with it. Besides, as far as she was concerned, getting to sit next to Drift alone was nice enough- even if the sun beating down between the tree leaves was starting to get to her.
Every now and then, someone would walk by, and the two would give a smile or a nod or a wave as the person moved along. Usually, it was another student, but every now and then it would just be some person on a walk. And sometimes, it would be some stranger on a walk with their dog.
After the third person walked by with what Rina would classify as an oversized puppy, Drift piped up, torn from his trance of staring at the nature around him. "I have a question."
Rina's ears twitch. "Shoot."
"What's with the people walking with dogs?" He asks, and Rina is slightly impressed by him remembering what a dog is. She did a good job of drilling it into him, she supposes. "You're a dog, but you're not..." he makes some sort of gesture which she assumes is meant to represent a leash. "Being tied up like that."
She makes an ehhh noise. "I'm not really the same as most dogs, though, either." She taps her chin, as if in thought. "I look- on the surface- a lot more like a human than a dog, and I speak English, so I think if people saw me being walked like that they would probably get the wrong idea." They would either think she was being abused or that it was a weird sex thing, and Rina really did not want people making those sorts of assumptions about her. "With normal dogs, it's a lot different. They're more likely to run away if you just let them go out and about, so walking them on leashes is a good way to get them some exercise."
Drift nods along. "So that's normal, for normal dogs?"
Rina shrugs. "Yeah, more or less."
Drift thinks for a moment, staring off, and Rina follows his gaze to see him looking up at one of the large trees, the leaves still mostly in the process of browning. Every now and then, with each small gust of wind, one of the already dead leaves would gently and daintily fall to the stone pathway. After a second, Drift turns back to look at her. "Do you ever get jealous of normal dogs?"
She jumps a bit. That was not the question she was anticipating by any means. "Not- not about being walked?!"
"Well, no," Drift elaborates, "not about that. But do you ever wish you could do something a normal dog could do?"
Rina huffs, folding her arms, though she does actually think about it for a moment. "I guess, if there's anything," she starts, "it's that they can sleep all day in those big soft dog beds."
Drift tilts his head in slight confusion. "You have a big soft human bed, though."
"Yeah," she groans, "but I can't just stay in it all day like a dog can. I have stupid responsibilities. I need to keep getting up."
Drift exhales a soft, small laugh, and his holoform smiles down at her. He has such a soft expression, and distantly, she wonders if she'll ever see such a gentle look on the actual mech. She hopes so. "I dunno, I think your bed looks pretty comfortable."
A blush rushes to her face. "That's not the point," she grumbles, "and don't say it like that!"
Confused, Drift raises an eyebrow at her. "Why not?"
Rina's ears flatten against her head, tail flicking behind her, and she looks away, trying to hide the red shade of her face. "Just... just don't."
