yall are about to piss me off by not having any PASSING basic knowledge of the way the u.s. military manipulates its recruits into joining by typing up one of your uninformed, unresearched, unempathetic, individualistic, unbelievably annoying posts about how 100% of the people in the military ended up there because they just Love America So Damn Much! they're extremely mature and informed at time of recruitment, they can totally leave anytime they want, they totally had tons of other avenues in life they could've taken, there was no rush at all to get income as fast as possible, and everyone in the military also totally is part of the combat divisions and personally enjoys being IN the military very much, big believers of violence. everyone in the military is shooting guns all day, that's how that works. they LOVE BLOODSHED. also I love the "amewicans haha" twang to this type of shit because you're actually TOTALLY stealing our Thing, which is turning systemic issues into Individual Issues. Instead of talking about the powers that be, it's so Personal Choice up in here. It's, "well you shouldn't have done it then. I totally wouldn't because I know better." you don't wanna talk about the military industrial complex as a whole, and you don't want to talk about recruiters, you just want to pin the blame on Specific Individual People one-by-one, as if they're responsible for the system that they're being ground up in. someone was in the military? bad person, no matter what. it's easier to believe that, I guess, than to acknowledge that Normal People (with high school educations) are manipulated and incentivized into joining a system that is Bad. at like age 18. but yeah no that 18 year old should have just been smarter lol haha anyway here are some screenshots for no particular reason

Katniss and Cody: violently distrustful of the person who seems too kind that they rationalize it as a scheming act to lower their guard. Incredibly defensive to the person they haven’t fallen in love with quite yet.

Sometimes I think about talking more about the spiritual aspect of my system/plurality (because quite frankly it feels a lot more enjoyable and less potentially endangering than talking about system stuff related to my CDD, because of the fact that with that, my trauma heavily influences every part of my system as a CDD system, so sharing much on it just feels like giving too much away about my trauma. Which, you know, gives way too much room for people to figure out how to hurt me with it.)

Then I am reminded over and over how many people can't even be normal about many of my experiences as a CDD system that do fit into strictly medical and/or already studied aspects of the disorder

(Examples for reference: People trying to tell me the way I handle or work on managing symptoms of my CDD is incorrect, or that I'm being "anti recovery" for seeing/working on it a different way from then even though I've been in therapy for years and have discussed the topic with my therapist already explicitly to make sure I'm NOT hurting my own ability to recover. People trying to debate the validity of my symptoms and how they present even when it fits into experiences that have been studied already.)

one of my favorite things about bradley is that while he so desperately wants to be like his father— enough so that he spends so much of his life trying to emulate him through style, music, profession, etc.— narratively he really is more like maverick. maybe not in the exact way that he flies, because we all know maverick is notoriously a daredevil while bradley is decidedly not, but even that has its own parallels with how ice and jake upon introduction immediately point out the flaws in their piloting styles (i heard that about you. you like to work alone. / that’s just you, ain’t it? waiting for just the right moment that never comes.). their methods are different, but both on the ground and up in the air, the two of them are always competing with a ghost. fathers that they can barely remember, whose legacies one way or another made it difficult for them to make it where they are in their careers— even though their fathers are such major motivators for why they chose aviation in the first place. they both have spent a lot of their lives on their own because of that and when it comes down to the final mission for each of their movies, they’re both shown being doubted as the right fit— once again by ice and jake (it’s nothing personal…but with regard to maverick…is he the best pick? / he’s not cut out for this mission. you know i’m right.). at the end of the day they manage to pull it off, but they have to overcome the obstacles that have plagued them for a majority of the movie. it’s not just the obvious scene callbacks that tether them as characters, it’s who they are at their core.

i did not make the post complaining about datv plot that i wanted to when i finished the game but one of the bullet points on it was 'where is the reckoning to shake the heavens that flemeth promised? we lost kate mulgrew for this?' which is a bullet point that might make one realize that one's complaints are very niche and specific and thats not what people look for in 10-year-later sequels and you nix the whole post

and then almost two weeks later d*vid g*ider makes a post about flemeth & morrigan & how they were always so fundamental to dragon age [which he begins by calling himself out for older women being his type- i dont want to talk about it] and another about how the scene between morrigan & kieran & flemythal was written and shot for here lies the abyss, morrigan saying she would never be the mother [to kieran] that flemeth was to her 🥺which is STILL the most impactful thing from inquisition

my very pleasant start to the day (got gender juice topped off, ran errands, got good lunch, talked with mom) was nearly ruined by the setback of my doctor being clearly out of the loop and freaking out about a thing that's actually fine if there's no changes (and there were none).

because the MAJOR fucking bureaucratic problem i've been wrestling with for months FINALLY cleared purgatory and now everything that was waiting for it started moving. like i almost don't even care if the previously stuck applications don't get approved. i'm just fucking happy the issue got resolved and i'm dealing with the normal amount of bullshit. hell, i had workers from THREE different bureaus/programs say that they had never dealt with a case like mine before lmao. that's not the kind of unique you want to be!

anyway my day was actually not made by that but by the bargain bin yarn that allowed me to accidentally an entire back piece in one sitting:
