I've hardly done anything but survive this year, but just as things were finally settling, the past month has just hit me again.

Been sick as a dog, practically just going in an out of medicated sleep and hacking up my lungs, only to FINALLY get over a nasty bug and be alive for a few days before I start the next month with a NEW aliment.

Gods be damned I'm tired of being sick all the time!

What's worse, this makes no sense!! I can't eat anything bland or normal sick day foods. Only thing I can keep down and eases my stomach is spicy curry! WHY!?!

Anyways, just saying I'm still alive. Will EVENTUALLY get to a point I can post actual art again soon.

Also if y'all in the US, get your stank butt out there and vote!

“Grandmother is visiting,” Damian suddenly said with no warning and with his usual not-quite demanding tone. 

“Who?” Tim wasn’t the only one to startle, seeing as Bruce had practically froze, a downturn to his lips in a silent show of confusion. 

Damian scowled. “Are you deaf Drake? Grandmother is coming to Gotham to, quote, make sure I am being properly cared for.” None of them had known that Ras was with anyone actually. At least Tim was pretty sure that would have been in the files. 

“Oh?” Dick didn’t quite crouch to Damian’s height but it was a near thing. “She-” “He,” Damian corrected, interrupting him. They all exchanged a glance before Dick continued. 

“Is he coming to the Manor or…” 

Damian scoffed again, a tiny bit of a flush against his face. “No, Grandmother will most likely be staying with Akhi-”

the fermi paradox is so funny to me because people make it out to be some kind of cosmically horrifying unexplainable mystery but it's literally so easily solved by the speed of light. like everything in the universe is very far apart and there is a hard limit on how fast something can travel. like we've been sending out signals into space looking for alien life for what, 50 years? because of the speed of light, that means that these signals have traveled for, at most, 50 light years (shocking). if i go on space engine to check roughly how many known star systems exist within a 50 ly radius around earth, we get a grand total of: 776. even if we add in procedurally generated ones to get an estimate that accounts for star systems we don't know about then our total goes up to 3,407. our current estimations for the number of stars in the milky way alone is around 100 BILLION. our messages have only reached like 0.000003% of the total number of stars in our galaxy alone. and even if there are any stars with life within that radius, who says they would be able to receive these messages? single-celled life first evolved ~4,000 million years ago while multicellular life only came to be around ~1,600 mya. primates only evolved within the last 100 million years. we've only been able to receive signals for a few centuries. and if these aliens did receive our signals and were able to send them back, it would still take a while for those signals to then get back to us. if they were 25 ly away (a radius that contains 122 known star systems, btw) then it would take 25 years for the signal to get there and then another 25 years for it to come back. and this isn't even getting into the fact that these signals would become less intense the further they go due to the way light works. either way it's just so fucking funny to me that people think that "powerful aliens KILLED them ALL and they're coming for US NEXT" is anywhere near the most plausible explanation

as some of u know already i have a test tomorrow in my anatomy class. i’ve never studied this hard for anything in my life and i still know nothing. i have a bachelors degree in three separate fields, i graduated with college magna cum laude with separate honors in two of my majors, i took 7 ap exams, i took the sat, i have a certification that is incredibly hard to get. i have never been more stressed for an exam in my life. i know too much and also nothing at all. how do you stem people do this in like four classes at once.

Tim wondered where Dick was right now, and if he was laughing. His brain was lagging like a computer as he tried to process what Danny was saying, and how seriously a few of his fellow teen vigilantes were taking this.

"Some of their more common tactics are-" the chalk was picked back up, and Danny writes as he speaks.

"Manipulation, isolation, conditioning, and empathy."

In my AU, Fidds is actually pretty old-- not like ancient or anything, but surely a few centuries?

Anyway, so way back, when he was human, he did have a wife and a kid!! But when he got bit and became a vampire, he actually outlived them :(

He tries to think about them often, but it's definitely one of the things he chooses to erase when he creates the memory gun
