Words cannot describe how much I hate Yoru. How she keeps assaulting Denji and just getting away with it. I want to rip her apart!
He’s trying to open up and talk about his problems and she’s just using him, he doesn’t know anything else. It’s so fucking upsetting

HOT DAMN ik i already said a bit abt csm 167 but i keep thinking of more extremely interesting shit here and the sheer inner turmoil in the shared body of asa and yoru
I was wrong, it's not yoru masterminding this. Maybe she is, but we've already got so many hints that yoru and asa are starting to rub off on each other, w/ yoru feeling asa's emotions and asa getting more nonchalant about death and killing. Everything until now has been a relatively clean merge, something neither of them even notices too much.
But denji is a jagged edge. Asa and yoru have very different approaches to love and interpersonal relationships. Asa being a sex repulsed and desperately lonely romantic and yoru being the embodiment of war, uninterested in love, & intimacy only being violence (because war).
The merging can't go unnoticed anymore, it's not just massaging red play doh into blue play doh anymore. Their feelings regarding denji and chainsaw man are so different and entirely irreconcilable the merge is hacking off a hand and painstakingly sewing each individual nerve and vein to the end of a fraying rope.
Tumblr media
Here yoru is her usual uncaring self. Denji wants to lose his cock, so be it. Who cares, she's war, she's done worse and feelings never got in her way before.
Tumblr media
When denji knocks the knife away that's a very asa face and reaction despite the scars showing it's clearly yoru. Yoru isn't this clumsy. It's not like denji peeled her hand open, he knocked it away and yoru wouldn't have such a loose grip on a weapon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yoru is shocked. This shouldn't feel too different from any other fight for her, why is she so shocked? I thought she was unaffected by emotion, so why would she feel even a second of confusion about hurting denji? It's like she's shocked at herself, and she reasserts herself by doubling down on the violence and gripping his balls. Doubt isn't like her, it must be a fluke. She'll finish it quick.
Tumblr media
Once again, that is an Asa face with the yoru scar, immediately followed by yoru attempting to regain herself
Tumblr media
And failing. This is yoru, why is she so confused? If she wanted to assault denji it wouldn't be unwarranted from War, but there's emotion in that kiss. She looks so shocked when she pulls back, this isn't yoru's idea nor is it asa's. Again it wouldn't be surprising if war decided to idk assert dominance by assaulting denji, but if that was her goal she'd be as confident and unphased as she usually is in fights. At worst she'd be angry if he didn't go along with it, but panicky? Confused? That's not like her
Tumblr media
She's too emotionally involved to be yoru, but too sexual to be asa. This is the ugly joint of fraying rope and nerve endings. A girl neither asa nor yoru recognize as themselves and one they can't control as individuals. They are merging, but they can't merge into 1 whole person, they're so diametrically opposed in their views of interpersonal relationships that they can't fuse cleanly together and instead their jagged edges get smushed together with such force it makes a 3rd person they mutually hate and are unable to control.
Tumblr media
Finally they split again and asa is so deeply fearful she takes over again. But despite losing the scar she keeps the horseman eyes, and the paneling splits her in half implying we are seeing both of their reactions here. And despite having seemingly been in control and making the decision to assault denji, asa and Yoru are equally terrified by what just happened.
This wasn't yoru raping denji then leaving asa to handle it. God that'd almost be better since at least then asa could blame her, but she can't. This was the ugly frankenstein joinery of yoru and asa acting here. Both individuals lost control of their shared body entirely while their desires were mangled and reshaped into something they find mutually disgusting but are forced to feel as enjoyment. Yoru experiences sensation and emotion she considers so far below her and is terrified by this loss of her devil nature. And asa is lost in indulgence of violent sexuality the likes of which she never could've previously imagined enjoying, let alone forcing onto the only person who ever gave a shit.
As a person she is so deeply concerned with morality and righteousness she won't even cross a red crosswalk with no cars around at night, but she's been forced to commit a crime so heinous as rape against the boy she likes and gain enjoyment from it.
It's so deeply violating not just of her agency but her existence as an individual it's hard to define in words, but i can only imagine asa scrambling away. Frantically she screams at yoru for fucking it all up so badly, only for yoru to be equally as scared and disgusted. This wasn't yoru's doing. This devil that has had such tight control of her for so long is completely clueless as to what the fuck even happened or why and points at asa because if it's not yoru it's asa yeah? But if they look deep inside themselves, they'll see that their reflection isn't them. Neither of them know who this is, and they can't talk to her or control her even as they get sucked into this singularity.

i love how fujimoto shows how pathetic yoru is throughout the manga - she goes from being weak, to slowly gaining her power back (which we see throughout part 2) and then she’s rendered defenceless in the ageing devils world where she seemingly can’t do anything other than wait to turn into a tree.
Tumblr media
then she takes out her anger onto denji through violence and then after he starts crying she decided to kiss him - she’s flushed (from anger I assume) and her decision to kiss denji could be a mix of her own/Asa’s feelings towards him but also as a way to control something in this scenario where otherwise she has NO control. she no longer has her powers, she is weakened so she takes control by using denji.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the trees also previously being people who were turned into trees was also crazy - it creates such a feeling of helplessness where you can’t escape so all you can do is wait for your mind and soul to become one with nature & even despite being a devil (THE war devil - one of the four horsemen) for now there is nothing that can be done to escape (I really like this concept actually twirling my hair around my finger)
the way fujimoto illustrates the people-turned-trees is so beautiful in a way yet also horrifying. the idea of it is terrifying but the process of succumbing to nature to return to the real world is beautiful in a way im not explaining this well lmao
Tumblr media
denji. DENJI. I’m so devastated everytime I read a new chapter I go “fujimoto won’t make Denji’s life worse this time will he??” AND HE DOES (agony)
anyway. denji crying and apologising because he believes every bad thing that happens to the people around him is HIS fault and hates that. fujimoto I need a WORD. denji deciding that he will stay in the ageing devils world and become a tree as a punishment for his actions is actually gonna make me explode I can’t do this

Sleepover date with yoru
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing:yoru x gn reader
A/n:This is inspired by a conversation I had with my brother. It's kinda stupid, but I thought it was kinda funny and sweet
Tumblr media
You were having a sleepover with your girlfriend yoru, well technically asa was there too, but she was more than happy to let her take full control as you were basically the only human she liked and so wouldn't try to turn into a weapon.
You spent a while eating snacks and talking about whatever when you got an idea.
"Hey yoru, do you know what video games are?"
"Yeah I think asa has a couple she likes to play why?"
"Well I have some I think you'd like"
"Why do you think that?"
"They're based on war, and you're the war devil, so I thought you'd enjoy them"
Yoru looked confused for a second before starting to laugh
"Seriously? This is rich, I thought you humans hated war, there are seriously video games based on it?"
"I don't know what to tell you, so you wanna try?"
"Sure, it does sound like fun"
You spent a few minutes teaching yoru the controls and making her play the tutorial. She was actually a natural at the game and started playing against the cpu and winning. She also pointed out all the historical inaccuracies on the model of guns used and stuff like that
Since she was doing so well, you decided to let her play online which.........
"NEXT TIME YOU KILL ME I'LL TURN YOUR SPINE INTO A SPEAR AND SHOVE IT UP YOUR-"
"Yoru please calm down"
In hindsight, was a really bad idea. Your girlfriend already had a short temper, and introducing her to online gaming was like pouring gasoline on a fire.
"All these stupid humans, they keep killing me. How? I'm the war devil for crying out loud. I should be slaughtering them without issues"
You moved to hug her, and even if a bit hesitant, she accepted
"It's alright sweetheart everyone lose from time to time"
"I don't need your pity, I'm gonna go outside and kill the first human I see, I need to let out some steam"
"Please don't do that, I'm not ready to deal with a murder today, how about we play a calmer game?"
"Who do you think I am? The girl I'm possessing might, but I don't give up easily I'll continue playing until I win, whatever it takes"
"I.....am genuinely concerned you'll either break my controller or go on a murder spree if you keep playing, can we cuddle instead? that will calm you down"
"Fine, you're lucky I love you"
You wrapped your arms around her tighter as she did the same. You two fell on the couch hugging each other
"Oh! I just had an idea, wanna watch a war movie?"
"Yeah"
You opened Netflix and asked yoru to choose a movie. You started to watch it while eating whatever snacks were left
"You know most couples watch a romantic movie during a date"
"Who cares what human couples do? I love seeing all this bloodshed and destruction almost as much as I love you"
"Awww that's so sweet, I love you too"
Yoru put her head on your shoulder and continued to look at the movie while smiling
"thanks"
"For what?"
"Loving me I guess, it feels really nice"
You smiled brightly and kissed her forehead
"Thank you for loving me back then"

Whats the deal with the death devil? (YOSHIDA REAL?)
I made this fucking 'joke' back when 146 came out and I keep fucking thing about it cause its so fucking funny and I can one piece this theory into making sense hang on
Tumblr media
I went ahead and made this chart to show the feelings towards the death devil. Both Makima and Fami wants the Death Devil dead however its unknown if they do that out of any animosity as their motives seem to be saving humanity from death. Yoru doesn't give a shit and Nayuta is in the same boat as Fami except she has no hatred towards DD. So that leads to the question, What did DD do to make them that mad? Here are the options based on what we know; 1. They don't hate DD at all they just want her to stay in hell because theoretically her presence on earth would mean the extinction of all life. 2. They HATE DD because she did something in the past that REALLY pissed them off. 3. Its a misunderstanding 4. Something else. Will the arrival of the Death Devil cause all extinction of life? (By Extension, Is She evil?) Using what we know of the other 3 Horsemen its a fair assumption to make that DD isn't pure evil or a natural disaster. For the most powerful devil to be a blank evil slate, It would be kind of boring. Even if it's something like the Darkness Devil, We've seen it happen before. We know that Primal Fears are weird and different as well because Darkness and Falling is completely different from each other. Given that I doubt DD's goal is to cause the extinction of all life, Especially because without humans there would be no fear, Thus there would be no devils.
Do they HATE the Death Devil? I think this one can be ruled out given the information we currently have as their reasons for wanting her dead seem to fall into the "Stop humanity from going extinct" angle. We could get some big reveal that DD ate the entire thanksgiving turkey one year but I doubt that'll happen. Could it be a misunderstanding? Given Fujimoto, This is a definite possibility. However I doubt the final antagonist of the series will be so easily resolved as 'Oh you're not actually evil mb'. There would be more too it. DD is probably malicious to some extent but not as much as it seems. It's also possible DD is completely uncaring for destruction and has no evil plans what so ever and just wants to visit her sisters. Because Death itself is cruel and impartial to who and what it takes. So what else could it be?
Tumblr media
By FAR the funniest fucking option is that Yoshida actually IS the death devil and the rest of the horseman hate him because he's Trans and ruins their Sisters of the Apocalypse Gimmick. I'm not joking when I say this could ACTUALLY be the fucking solution and it's so fucking funny I keep fucking giggling at this stupid fucking One Piece Theory ass idea. Given what we know about War and how quickly Makima was reincarnated into Nayuta, It's likely that the Horsemen all have true devil forms similar to War and Pochita.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The bodies they currently inhabit aren't actually their Devil bodies and are instead hosts. Again, Given what we know of War, It can be inferred that Horsemen possess the ability to create a special kind of Fiend which is what Nayuta, Fami, and Yoru/Asa are. They're probably on par or only slightly weaker than their pure forms. As such these are more akin to host bodies than anything else. So then what if Yoshida (DEATH DEVIL REAL) is actually just DD's current host body? Yoshida is a weird case in general because he has basically no backstory yet seems related to Kishibe in some way. What if its a Nayuta and Denji situation? But then why would none of the other Horsemen recognize him as death when they met despite the fact they seem to have an intuitive knowledge of their sisters. It's possible that they don't recognise Death as Yoshida because he's actively hiding his identity as to not get outed. The Control Devil's one desire was to truly be loved and understand humans. So it's to go against their primary directive as a Devil; Be loved without control. Fami's motives are still a bit weird but they seem to just be "Eat a bunch of stuff that tastes good." Which again is against her MO as a devil; Feed the hunger instead of succumbing to Famine. Yoru, Who knows shes just a little freak. So thus the idea that the Death Devil's wish would be something like "Live among humans and keep them from dying" would somewhat match an inverted directive. Yoshida is a devil hunter after all who by extension stops humans from dying. So Illustrate how funny this would be if it was true:
Tumblr media
But this requires Yoshida to not get fucking pwnd next chapter by another weird Queer Woman.

Asa Mitaka
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Age: 16?
Home: Tokyo (Chainsaw Man)
Likes: Cats, Denji, external validation
Dislikes: Devils, tripping, embarrassing herself, sex, fish, solitude, companionship, Yoru, Yoshida, Chainsaw Man, Denji, Asa
Contracts: War
Asa Mitaka was an ordinary girl, until she lost her parents in a Typhoon Devil attack. She feels personally responsible for her mother's death, since she died trying to rescue Asa (after Asa had put herself in danger to rescue a cat). To make a long story short, things keep getting worse, until she has to make a contract with Yoru (aka the War Devil) to avoid dying.
Asa's peers generally see her as a huge bummer. She's quiet, antisocial, grumpy, and accidentally murdered her class's pet devil by tripping on it. And to be fair, basically all of that is true. Asa's a quiet loner because she's afraid she'll screw up, get hurt, and be lonely again. She's used to things going wrong with her relationships, whether they're classmates or cats. And that's just one of the reasons she hates herself more than any of her classmates do.
Asa's just a little ball of self-loathing and misanthropy and depression and occasional bursts of arrogance. She is my little blorbo meow meow, I want her to find a happiness that I know she's not going to reach without volumes of suffering, and a lot of people feel the same way. For instance:
NO NOT MY THREE CHILDREN WHAT THE RUCKSKFJQJDJE GIVE THEM A FUCKING BREAK?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
its so insane when all the fans collectively look at a character and say "yep. Autism." and by that I mean ALL of them. Abelist fans look and go "lol what an autist" and autistic fans look and go "I've never felt so represented in my life."
Sure, Asa’s got redeeming qualities. They mainly show up after chapter 114. You can bet your bottom dollar the worst of her is why I loved her from the moment she was introduced.
Asa is actually a very hopeful girl. It's crazy how many times she gets embarrassed, destroyed, and emotionally crushed — but still has a spark of hope, and the desire to live despite everything. It's one of her greatest traits. It makes me go thats my daughter!!!!😭😭😭😭

My thoughts on Asa... I feel really bad for her honestly. Her thoughts and trauma were recently revealed and I'm not sure how to feel? Like this poor poor girl has endured so much and now she can't even love freely because she has a contract with the war devil (no hate to yoru I love her) on that note actually I'm really proud of Yoru, the war devil is supposed to come off as self centred and I guess something akin to that of Ares but she's really giving Asa the reality checks she needs and no she's not purposely comforting her but I think she's doing a great job at caring for her in her own way for example when there's danger she tries to protect Asa and that's awfully sweet of her.
Anyways back to the love thing, in fact she warned Denji to stay away from her even though she's probably heart broken (since she thinks he doesn't like her for reasons) that is so mature of her and I'm glad she's (subconsciously?) doing what she thinks is best for him since she doesn't want Yoru to turn him into a weapon.
Also, in the new chapter we saw the falling devil who is looking for Asa? I feel like she might have made a contract with the devil when she was younger or something or maybe her mother did? Since Asa keeps falling, it kind of feels like the personification of Asa yk?but I guess we'll find out
I don't really have any in dept thoughts rn it's kind of late but might add later

i love your theory but the only thing i have an issue with is how makima directly calls out “death, war, hunger… with chainsaw man’s power, i’ll blot them all out” which i suppose could be a red herring but it would be super shitty of fujimoto to do that, i just don’t think chainsaw man’s #1 fan would confuse him, especially if she hates death to the point of wanting to “blot them out” and she identifies devils by smell, you know?? i dunno, maybe i’m reading too much into things, i wanted ur take on things !
I'd just like to point out that it's a theory, although I like the fact that it's very poetic, that has 50% of working in reality.
You're absolutely right that Makima has an excellent sense of smell, but I think the key to understanding was held by Pochita and not by her.
In chapter 84, to which you refer, she mentions the fact that there are names she can't remember, a sign that she herself is sensitive to Chainsaw Man's power.
Makima's plan was simple: defeat Chainsaw Man in order to control him.
Makima knew that terrifying concepts had been erased by Pochita, so what she surely wanted to do was to use her power to attack not demons specifically, but concepts that terrified the most of mankind
Death, war, famine and control are empirically the greatest fears today, and the concept of the Knights of the Apocalypse remains unclear, but some information was given in part 2.
Yoru is indifferent to demons that are not her family, but rather demons of her own rank, whereas Makima had been willing to subjugate them. Fami represents a third option, as she sees them as possible allies, although she also seeks to subdue them with or without their consent.
That's why, even if I can say that Makima was informed, I still can't say that she met the other Knights of the Apocalypse, she simply saw them as obstacles to humanity through their concepts, it wasn't personal/individual revenge.
I agree that she's Chainsaw Man's #1 fan, but that doesn't mean she wouldn't be completely wrong about his essence.
Pochita remains shrouded in mystery while the control demon has also been drained of his essence, of her own feelings by the government
Makima saw Pochita first and foremost as a means to achieve the goals humanity had assigned her; she was so instrumentalized by her mission that this ultimate means was also the only way to be happy.
The demon of control was not a free demon, especially mentally, so she saw other knights only through the eyes of humanity.
What is the most common trait that defines these four demons? The fact of not having forgotten the demons erased by Chainsaw Man.
Why this particularity? Only demons of the same rank could have it.
Makima wanted to destroy the other demons of the apocalypse and has an excellent sense of smell. But why are the Knights of the Apocalypse the only ones to remember Chainsaw Man's deeds? Why couldn't Makima consider herself above Chainsaw Man? Was she necessarily inferior? Or was she of the same rank ?
Especially as part 1 ends with Pochita having grasped Makima perfectly, and not having communicated with her once during their fight, surely because he knew that the control demon was not acting according to her own will.
Chainsaw Man had a better grasp of the control demon than she had of him.

The war flashback I got thinking he wake up in a trashcan jfc
Alright. He’s in hospital, who brought him there maybe Yoshida, public safety, or someone with common sense among the chaos. Yet no signs of Nayuta :’(
This chapter heartbreaking dude. This arc is nayuta arc, she’s getting all spotlight and conflict. The fact she knows what she is and who she use to be is. I know while back people theorize if Nayuta faking who she is. Answer is no. Literally with love and care Nayuta understands humanity in a sense. She doesn’t want destroy Denji life to get chainsaw she wants to be part of Denji life.
Fact she went from quiet devil girl to basically a child acting like a child raised by Denji says a lot. I like Makima who controlled everything 10 steps ahead Nayuta has zero control.
But sad Denji can never keep a family for himself. With what little support system he has also burns down to himself. I hope Nayuta is okay, I doubt Fami let her sister die by Barem hating ass. But that could be her plan from jumped. Any starving can become her pawn. Ridding Nayuta of her very power is easier for Fami to get upper hand.
February 27th next chapter. Who honestly knows where story is going. I miss Asa/Yoru need see how girlies are doing. One thing I miss about part 1 is that chapters did manage itself to focus on various people even if Denji wasn’t center focus. Then again folks complained about Denji not getting focused on well here you go
9/10 please give Denji a god damn break omg

Chainsaw Man - Tatsuki Fujimoto   Ch. 98-132: A Disappointed Commentary and Overall Impressions.
LISTEN. If you’re as sensitive about your faves as I am, don’t read this. I’m bummed with Part 2 and it shows. (But, hey, I’m looking forward to reading more?)
-This Asa has had more introspection in twenty pages than Denji has had in his entire lifetime (this is a neutral comment).
-Did she accidentally squash Chicken Devil omg
-Holy shit, this escalated. Mr Tanaka, really now?
-I kinda like Yoru. And Yoru alone.
-Your goal is to defeat Chainsaw Man and mine is to actually see him... I don’t care about Asa that much.
-Oh Denji, u in Asa’s manga too?
-I like Denji, give me more Denji, omg, this is my nightmare scenario of endless chapters focused on characters you’re not interested in, I’ve feared this for a while.
-Where is everyone? Why has everyone left Denji alone? Like, in life.
-I don’t like that Denji is a side-character!
-Pls, Nayuta, save the story :’(
-At anyone who might be reading this and is enjoying the story: I am very, very happy that you do, I’m jealous. I am so disappointed though. I’m disappointed that Denji is not the MC, yes, but also, Asa is not compelling to me, there’s no side-characters with spark and just life, the setting is underwhelming - a school after Public Safety, I don’t see any interesting dynamics right now. Basically, what compelled me in the first arc just isn’t here. I see people saying to wait, that things will peak and twist and turn, and, well, yes, of course they might, but that doesn’t make up for the things that haven’t worked for me so far. But yes, please reframe those things, please, make me eat my words and shock me into adoring the arc! I beg! I beg to be wrong!
-There’s a lot of bread crumbs for the future, I won’t deny that. Yoshida’s random organization, Nayuta herself, the prophecy, the contract with Power of course, but... give us something concrete :’(.
-In a weird way though, it has me wanting to read on and on and then some, just to see Denji and see where on earth this is going.
-Why drown it, bitch. Why drown the cat, bitch.
-”Solitude and companionship... I’m afraid of both!” I mean, same.
-The Falling Devil ala chef, great, I like that.
-And you would care if the Devil’s a thief... why exactly, Denji boy?
-Yes, bb, yes, bring up Denji’s trauma, bring up Power and Aki, finally. God, I miss them. But yay, finally, quality time with Denji!
-Chainsaw be like “I wanna have sex!” and Asa be like “yeah, nvm, just let me fall.”
-They are ON A PLATE, nice. See, I’m lots more ameliorable when Denji is around and denji-ing.
-Actually content now that Denji’s been around for a few chapters in a row, lmao.
-Looking forward to seeing who “fake Chainsaw” is. An actual other Chainsaw? Denji from the future? Who knows.
-War Devil might win in the prophesy and prevent the Age of Devils, got it. Yoru, you’re up.
-And now Nayuta has the spotlight, phew, I can breathe again. And more Denji! We’re ending the binge-read on a positive note.
Overall Impressions: Part 1: Love and adoration, fun, ridiculousness, excitement, pain and heartbreak, shock and respect. Sometimes the plot gets convoluted. Denji, Aki and Power are one of my favorite gangs. I love all the side-characters, I love Denji, I love the character development, I love to hate Makima, I love the panel composition. Part 2: I’m bummed and curious. Not enough Denji, but I’m delighted when Denji and Nayuta appear. For the moment weak side-characters. Lots of hints for potentially exciting things to come. Lacks the visual oomph of Part 1 because of lackluster setting. I don’t vibe with Asa.

Chainsaw Man Chapter 118 Thoughts
Tumblr media
The famous saying always goes: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times,  shame on both of us. It was honestly the best way to articulate my immediate view for what was to come reading this particular chapter of Chainsaw Man. Question is do I mean this in a positive or negative aspect? That is the question to keep in mind here with the scenario at play between Denji and Asa.
Leave it to Tatsuki Fujimoto leave all the readers in a bind ending off the previous chapter the way he did because everyone was curious. Did this signify the end of Denji’s character? Was there something else that the readers had to pay close attention to while going through this chapter?  Needless to say, Yoru’s special card didn’t exactly do any favors. Denji was perfectly fine and immune to the whole thing which left her utterly dumbfounded about what just happened.  Same thing could also be said about Denji who was completely lost as to what “Asa” tried to do and decided to just play it off as her way of saying goodbye, and thus he said “Asa Spinal Sword!” just moments before leaving.
Once he wasn’t in the picture,  Asa questioned what Yoru was doing and was relieved that Denji didn’t become a weapon. This still left The War Devil as to why it didn’t happen, and Asa who came to the conclusion that the reason it might not have worked was because Denji didn’t like her.  Even going as far as stating “Not that I care because I don’t like him either.”  When being confronted about Fami,  Yoru told Asa to stay clear from her moments before passing out since Asa hadn’t gotten much sleep while  she was trapped in the Aquarium.  Asa, reflected back to everything that happened between her and Denji during their time in the Aquarium, and despite her earlier statement about not liking Denji; it’s shown how bothered Asa truly was at the predicament. Even after all of that, he still didn’t like her?  Even as thought of annoyance occurred where she expressed hating Denji for not liking her back before the scene shifted over to the school where she stood before him.
Finally, The big date that Denji revealed to Asa was to head over to the movie theater to watch mummy movies nonstop until 2 am.  However, she doesn’t wanna go on any pricy dates and would rather rent a movie as it would be cheaper.  The only one out of the two who had a VCR at home was Denji which left him a bit uneasy. Asa even expressed to Denji that the date didn’t need to happen which left him in a dilemma about the alternative proposition to which he agrees after some thought. Denji does warn Asa about three conditions that she has to follow while they are at his place otherwise it could mean death which Haruka overhears with concern bringing an end to the chapter.
All in all, this chapter of Chainsaw Man gets an Amazing+ rating.  When I first finished up my readthrough, I was really considerate of rating the chapter a Pure Perfection, but the only flaw that came to my mind was how Tatsuki Fujimoto pulled the same card a third time. This tactic isn’t exactly a bad form of storytelling, but it is one that does kind of standout even though it’s more ofa nitpick in all seriousness. I did love how you got to see what was going through Asa after Yoru failed to turn Denji into a spinal cord, but also get a bit of insight with Yoru’s perspective on Fami.  What was also really intriguing was the situation with Denji getting tensed about having the date with Asa at his place and those conditions I have no doubt believe involve Nayuta in some fashion.  Now there is only one single chapter remaining and before I’m fully caught up to latest chapter in Chainsaw man, and  next chapter thoughts will be up soon but until then, I hope you all take care of yourselves out there and stay safe.

"I hate cocky men," Yoru stated, swinging the spine sword around idly. "Quit blabbering and throw your big ugly fists at me already so I may chop them off. You're wasting my time."
Yoru positioned herself, raising the sword up and at the ready. She wasn't about to attack first, despite her desperate demands for Asa to do so earlier, because she wanted to gauge how powerful the Wrath Devil really was. She'd fought him close to a century ago, but a lot could change in 100 years...
"Not quite a typical contract," She answered. "But if you must know. I'm the War Devil."
Asa's disembodied soul stood only a foot behind her body, an incredulous look on her face. Just why are you telling him that?!
Tumblr media
“Told you I’d get what I wanted anyways.” He replied, grinning, as he took his own fighting stance.
“It’s a shame! If you’d just actually offered me something, or just let the other girl say her piece? Maybe we would have gotten somewhere, then!”
He began to hop back and forth from foot to foot. A grin creeping across his face. Making weapons from dead bodies? Exciting. He couldn’t help but wonder what kind of devil she had a contract with. Might as well ask, right? Could only serve to irritate more. And that was more than fine for Wrath Devil.
“So… bone swords and stuff? What kind of devil you got a contract with?”

Bear with me, I have a prediction about Chainsaw man part 2 from chapter 112 onwards.
I feel like the relationship between Asa and Denji is what we've been steadily bridging towards this whole time. Sure, it's starting for the wrong reasons, but I think you could make that argument about Reze too.
Spoilers for Chainsaw man, of course.
Anyway, Denji first and foremost is an affection starved teen, and likely keeping busy to avoid mourning for his lost friends and family.
He wants to be the celebrated hero, he wants the love and adoration for Chainsaw man to be love and adoration for Denji; and he's so desperate that he is willing to risk the stability he has, and the safety of Nayuta (likely due to overconfidence, lack of perspective, or both).
But here comes Asa, probing (on the surface) for companionship. He's already failed this test once, he knows Asa doesn't want the Chainsaw man. Now, she (on the surface, bear with me) wants Denji, and he can't say no to that.
Therefore, finally, he has a reason to keep a secret identity. Like a traditional superhero. He thinks Asa will abandon him if his secret is revealed.
On the flip side is Asa, with Yoru being the (literal) devil on her shoulder. Fujimoto has made sure the powers of the War Devil are explicit, and used Yuko's arc specifically to make that clear.
The power of the War Devil is to turn anything into a weapon, but for the weapon to be effective against more dangerous enemies, feeling guilty about using it as a weapon works the best. It is the twisted embodiment of "the ends justify the means", and rewards people who knowingly do cruel things for their own benefit (such as using people as weapons and killing them in the process).
However, here's the thing, Asa and Yoru both hate the Chainsaw man.
Yoru specifically says in ch112 you can't just use people you hate, because then you've given yourself a reason not to feel guilty when they die. If you would sacrifice someone who deserved to die, you might as well keep using pencils.
Yoru wants the strongest possible weapon, explicitly to kill the Chainsaw man; and Asa wants Yoru to leave her life as soon as possible, and already dislikes the Chainsaw man.
So Denji has a vested interest in keeping his identity secret now. And Asa/Yoru would see their plan ruined if they found out Denji was Chainsaw man.
I forsee Yoru encouraging Asa to pursue Denji emotionally (perhaps, ironically, being the wingwoman for her enemy) to foster their connection, while also drawing attention to, and recognising Denji's flaws so she doesn't get too soft and can't kill him.
However, Yoru is a fool and Asa inexperienced, so they don't understand that loving someone in spite of their flaws is the whole point, it is THE ideal of love. Their building the trap they are most definitely going to bite themselves with.
This Asa will start to care for Denji, and stay invested in his life until she can kill the Chainsaw man. If this is Fujimoto's plan the dramatic irony would be amazing.
So,
While I don't trust it myself, these previous chapters might be the transition into a highschool romance, Fujimoto style. So expect awkwardness, characters so pathetic you have to laugh, and plenty of violence.

Waaaaiiitt a minute. Here Makima talks about wanting to get rid of death, hunger (famine), and war. Those are the other three horsemen, technically her sisters. The fact that she named these 3 specifically makes me think that she hates them particularly
Tumblr media
When the concept of the four horsemen came to light I originally thought the horsemen would have some sort of bond or be friends even but it’s becoming clear that they might actually hate each other.
When the famine devil gets introduced Yoru immediately panics and thinks she shouldn’t be trusted. But before she could give the warning Fami snaps her away.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think all of the four horsemen are sisters yes but they all don’t like each other and/or are fighting each other because of certain goals.
And I think all of their goals revolve around chainsaw man
Yoru wants to kill chainsaw man as an act of revenge and to make war relevant again but Makima wanted to control chainsaw to make the world a “better place”. The question is what is Fami’s goal? What is the Death Devil’s goal? What do they want to do with chainsaw man?
I’m really excited for how this part 2 is gonna go aaaah all the theories!!! I will be trying to make some more theories and analysis posts soon

Oh I’m so excited. I don’t think this will be a standardized love triangle at all, Yoshidea has some ulterior motives I can see…. With my third eye and Asa’s just SAD AND LONELY
And I’m so excited to see Denji’s thoughts about what these two might get up to eventually IM SO CURIOUS AND NERVOUS WHATS GONNA HAPPEENNN
I hate love triangles but I earnestly doubt it’ll turn out like ones you see BUT I do live for messy dynamics and relationships so I hope this goes catastrophically
Yoru did suggest getting another boy to turn into a weapon and I hope asa goes fuck it. This guys the one and tries to weapon him and it just SPIRALLSS or he tries to kill asa bc yknow WAR DEVIL. And then denjis like WOWOOWOWOWOWW DUDE THATS MY??? GIRL THING DUDE???? I’m excited
ITS TODAY YOU ALL KNOW THE CSM DRILL
